Speaker 3: want to start throw by going out to the field
• 2:44
Speaker 3: checking in our rob Rio from our sister station ninety
• 2:47
Speaker 3: six to one KWS. In case you missed it last week.
• 2:50
Speaker 3: Rob set out last week on a walking trek from
• 2:54
Speaker 3: our studios here to eleven eleven, all the way to
• 2:56
Speaker 3: WU Children's Hospital in Morgantown to deliver that big old check.
• 3:00
Speaker 3: He rested for the weekend a bit, but this morning
• 3:02
Speaker 3: he's back at Let's go live to Rob good.
• 3:04
Speaker 6: Morning, Good morning out in the field. Is definitely correct.
• 3:09
Speaker 6: It is take me home country roads for today's portion
• 3:13
Speaker 6: of the walk. Stepped off about an hour ago from
• 3:17
Speaker 6: the left hand post office and didn't stay on the
• 3:21
Speaker 6: numbered roads for very long. If the directions to your
• 3:25
Speaker 6: half involved turn off the paved road, you might be
• 3:29
  Speaker 6: walking to Morgantown.
• 3:31
  Speaker 3: It is.
• 3:32
Speaker 6: Yeah, it's all county roads until I get to Arnoldsburg.
• 3:35
Speaker 6: Today it appears yeah.
• 3:36
Speaker 3: And again people are probably saying, we why don't you
• 3:39
Speaker 3: just take seventy nine. That's a safety issue. That's why
• 3:42
Speaker 3: they wouldn't let you take safety nine or seventy nine.
• 3:44
  Speaker 3: Is that right?
• 3:45
Speaker 6: Yes, And so of course we cleared things with West
• 3:49
Speaker 6: Virginia State Police. So we did talk about it would
• 3:52
Speaker 6: seem safe on that big, wide, flat paved shoulder of
• 3:57
Speaker 6: I seventy nine. It seems safe and till it's not.
• 4:01
Speaker 6: And so we didn't want to be in the way
• 4:03
Speaker 6: of any construction or any breakdowns. And frankly, it's really
• 4:06
Speaker 6: quiet out here in God's country Right now. I'm seeing
• 4:10
Speaker 6: some beautiful vistas and I plan to all the way
• 4:13
Speaker 6: through this day three of October with panhandle cleaning and restoration.
• 4:17
Speaker 3: And I want to give a big shout out again
• 4:18
Speaker 3: to those folks that panhandle. Now, how far do you
• 4:22
Speaker 3: expect to go today?
• 4:24
Speaker 6: The plan that today is about seventeen and a half.
• 4:28
Speaker 6: I had a really RESTful weekend. What I found about
• 4:31
Speaker 6: myself is a weekend is exactly enough time for everything
• 4:34
Speaker 6: to stop hurting. So I'm all fit and fiddle this morning.
• 4:37
Speaker 6: Mother nature is cooperating, sunny in seventy eight, and if
• 4:41
Speaker 6: my body cooperates, I may go a little farther. This
• 4:46
Speaker 6: is kind of this week is kind of the stretch
• 4:47
Speaker 6: of where it can be elastic. If I want to
• 4:50
Speaker 6: go a little farther, I can. If I have to
• 4:52
Speaker 6: stop a little short and you know, make it up
• 4:54
Speaker 6: later in the week, I can do that too. But officially,
• 4:57
Speaker 6: seventeen and a half is today's targ distance.
• 5:00
Speaker 3: And again we're talking to Rob Reel from our sister stations,
• 5:03
Speaker 3: Superstar Country ninety six one KWS, who said out last
• 5:06
Speaker 3: week walking that big old check well over one hundred
• 5:09
Speaker 3: almost two hundred thousand dollars check. I think he's taken
• 5:12
Speaker 3: from our studios here at eleven eleven to WVU Children's Hospital. Now,
• 5:17
Speaker 3: you said you got a little bit of rest over
• 5:18
Speaker 3: the weekend, and I don't care to tell this because
• 5:20
Speaker 3: you know you and I have a similar sense of humor.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: You got to laugh instead of crying. But I was
• 5:25
Speaker 3: talking to his crashing some of the folks in studio
• 5:27
Speaker 3: and they said that, you know, your calves were bothering
• 5:30
Speaker 3: you last week. Obviously a little soreness, but the biggest
• 5:33
Speaker 3: problem that you seem to have was chafing, chafing.
• 5:38
Speaker 6: Rob So we men of a certain age, and because
• 5:43
Speaker 6: you're about a half a lap ahead of me in
• 5:46
Speaker 6: the in the age race, gravity is a cruel mistress
• 5:51
Speaker 6: and she is undefeated. And there are things for a
• 5:55
Speaker 6: fifty almost fifty one year old body that I did
• 5:57
Speaker 6: not account for, because you know, the last time I
• 6:00
Speaker 6: was going this kind of distance, it was a twenty
• 6:02
Speaker 6: year old body. So yeah, I have I've reached out
• 6:07
Speaker 6: to my brother in law, Ed who he does super marathons,
• 6:11
Speaker 6: because he's that guy, so like forty four miles at
• 6:13
Speaker 6: a time, right, and he has recommended some products.
• 6:17
Speaker 3: But yeah, this is going off the rails really quickly.
• 6:22
Speaker 6: Yeah, my feet, my knees, my back. I expected I did,
• 6:26
Speaker 6: I did not expect this.
• 6:28
  Speaker 7: This.
• 6:28
Speaker 3: We'll leave it at that. This okay, Just just as
• 6:31
Speaker 3: next year sponsored by Panhandle, but also sponsored by Goldbonn.
• 6:35
Speaker 3: That's that'll be our corporate sponsor now again. You can
• 6:38
Speaker 3: if you don't follow Superstar Country ninety six to one
• 6:40
Speaker 3: KWS on Facebook and on the social media is, make
• 6:42
Speaker 3: sure you do, because Rob has been posting videos from
• 6:45
Speaker 3: the road, pictures and so on and so forth. That's
• 6:47
Speaker 3: all you channeling down to Blanche's Diner and Glendenna a
• 6:50
Speaker 3: few days ago. So I got to get that gotta
• 6:52
Speaker 3: get that sustenance. Hey, Rob, I appreciate it. Man, be
• 6:55
Speaker 3: safe out there and we will check in with you
• 6:57
Speaker 3: once again. Top of the show tomorrow. Man, thanks a lot,
• 7:00
Speaker 3: Thank you, sir, Rob Real from a sister station ninety
• 7:03
Speaker 3: six one KWS Again, Rob is walking. Started out last
• 7:08
Speaker 3: week walking from our studios here on Virginia Street all
• 7:11
Speaker 3: the way to Morgantown to deliver that check, that big
• 7:14
Speaker 3: old check one hundred and seventy thousand some dollars. I
• 7:16
Speaker 3: think it was to WVU Children's and yeah we are,
• 7:20
Speaker 3: we're gonna be checking in with Rob and sorry to
• 7:23
Speaker 3: use the term chafing on the air. That may be
• 7:25
Speaker 3: the first time in the history of this show, going
• 7:27
Speaker 3: back well before me, that the words chafing have ever
• 7:29
Speaker 3: been used on the show. But Dave Allen showing five
• 7:32

Speaker 3: as I said, going to break there, I wanted to

Speaker 3: spend some time talking about a new survey done by
• 11:53
Speaker 3: the Cardinal Institute. It was conducted among parents or guardians

• 12:09
Speaker 3: Tiffany Hoven is the director of Educational Partnerships and strategy,
• 12:12
Speaker 3: and she joins us. Now, Tiffany, good morning, welcome to
• 12:15
  Speaker 3: the show.
• 12:16
Speaker 11: Good morning, Daves. Thank you so much for having me.
• 12:18
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. First of all, I have
• 12:20
Speaker 3: to ask any time to talk about a particular survey.
• 12:23
Speaker 3: How and why was this survey conducted?
• 12:27
Speaker 11: Yeah? How you know? This survey was conducted for parents
• 12:31
Speaker 11: that have students in any K twelve studying. You know,
• 12:35
Speaker 11: as you mentioned, it was across the country, of course,
• 12:38
Speaker 11: cardinals focusing on the results for West Virginia, and I
• 12:43
Speaker 11: mean I think so, why is It's kind of a
• 12:47
Speaker 11: critical time in education. There's a lot of talk about,
• 12:50
Speaker 11: you know, school choice across the country, and the results
• 12:55
Speaker 11: of this survey sort of is a call to action,
• 12:59
Speaker 11: honestly for West Virginia.
• 13:01
Speaker 3: Now, Tiffany, I'm just yesterday last night kind of perusing
• 13:05
Speaker 3: the results. One part found that West Virginia parents and
• 13:08
Speaker 3: guardians are engaged with their kids learning, but they aren't
• 13:13
Speaker 3: satisfied for the most part with their kids' schools. They say,
• 13:16
Speaker 3: less so than what other parents are around the nation
• 13:20
Speaker 3: with their respective schools. Why is that?
• 13:24
Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean, I actually think that at that point,
• 13:27
Speaker 11: Dave is one of the highlights of the survey right
• 13:29
Speaker 11: that parents are going places where they feel like they're welcome,
• 13:34
Speaker 11: so they're going to PTA meetings and PTO meetings, but overall,
• 13:38
Speaker 11: compared to the national average, they're dissatisfied. And one of
• 13:42
Speaker 11: the interesting points is that they in West Virginia, parents
• 13:46
Speaker 11: rated very low on this percentage answering they feel like
• 13:50
Speaker 11: they have a choice, which is really interesting to me
• 13:53
Speaker 11: because we actually have more choice in West Virginia than
• 13:56
Speaker 11: most other states in the country. There are lots and
• 13:58
Speaker 11: lots of options, and we're falling below the national average
• 14:03
Speaker 11: and school satisfaction, and parents are saying they would not
• 14:06
Speaker 11: make the same choice if they had the option. And
• 14:09
Speaker 11: you know, the message for me is we do. We
• 14:11
Speaker 11: have all the options, and I think it's just a
• 14:13
Speaker 11: matter of spreading the news that all of those options
• 14:17
Speaker 11: are present for parents and that they can make a
• 14:19
Speaker 11: different decision if they choose to.
• 14:22
Speaker 3: Talking with Tiffany Hoping again from the Cardinal Institute, another
• 14:25
Speaker 3: finding in this and reading this last night tivity, around
• 14:27
Speaker 3: twenty nine percent of parents say that they are confident.
• 14:32
Speaker 3: Only twenty nine percent of the parents say they're confident
• 14:35
Speaker 3: that their kids will be equipped to succeed in the workforce,
• 14:37
Speaker 3: and only twenty eight percent say their kid is prepared
• 14:41
  Speaker 3: for college. That's that's not a lot.
• 14:43
Speaker 11: Tiffany, It's really not. And you know it's below what
• 14:48
Speaker 11: is already sort of a dismal national average. Right, the
• 14:52
Speaker 11: national average in those two categories is thirty four and
• 14:55
Speaker 11: thirty two percent, respectfully. And you know, so when we
• 14:58
Speaker 11: think about what is college and career readiness look like? Right,
• 15:01
Speaker 11: if you think, if you're picturing in your mind a
• 15:04
Speaker 11: K twelve student that's graduating from high school and they're
• 15:06
Speaker 11: about to go on to the workforce, so they're about
• 15:08
Speaker 11: to start college, what are the expectations for what you
• 15:12
Speaker 11: would want them to be able to do?
• 15:13
  Speaker 12: Well?
• 15:13
Speaker 11: We want them to have critical thinking skills, to competently
• 15:17
Speaker 11: express their thoughts through writing, to be able to read well,
• 15:21
Speaker 11: do basic math right, be able to go shopping and
• 15:24
Speaker 11: do percentages and all of those things that we have
• 15:26
Speaker 11: to do in our lives. And to be able to
• 15:30
Speaker 11: engage in civil society right, to understand our constitutional republic,
• 15:36
Speaker 11: to understand how to engage with government. And what we
• 15:39
Speaker 11: see in the performance metrics is that despite putting more
• 15:44
Speaker 11: and more money into the K twelve system, on most
• 15:48
Speaker 11: of those metrics, we're running about fifty percent. If you
• 15:51
Speaker 11: go to the Board of Education's website and pull up
• 15:54
Speaker 11: any local county in West Virginia, math and ELA proficiency
• 15:58
Speaker 11: runs right at fifty percent every single time county. And
• 16:00
Speaker 11: I don't know about you, but fifty fifties not odds.
• 16:04
Speaker 11: I want to play with my child reading in math.
• 16:07
Speaker 11: And recently, the Nation's Report Card MAPE does testing in
• 16:13
Speaker 11: US history. There's four categories that they test American democracy,
• 16:17
Speaker 11: American culture, economics and technology, and the role of America
• 16:22
Speaker 11: at large in the world. And in the last ten years,
• 16:27
Speaker 11: historically before twenty fourteen, that score always went up right
• 16:32
Speaker 11: when we gauged those things in twenty fourteen. In twenty eighteen.
• 16:38
Speaker 11: From twenty fourteen, the scores has done nothing but go
• 16:40
Speaker 11: down right. And the last two metrics, the scores have dropped.
• 16:43
Speaker 11: And that's nationwide. So it's not necessarily an indictment on
• 16:46
Speaker 11: you know, West Virginia per se, but we're not teaching
• 16:50
Speaker 11: our kids civics and government. And I think that something
• 16:53
Speaker 11: that we can do here in West Virginia to improve
• 16:56
Speaker 11: those outcomes specifically is to take a shot. I think
• 17:00
Speaker 11: parents should be demanding that our social studies standards in
• 17:03
Speaker 11: West Virginia be rewritten to reflect the accurate telling of
• 17:09
Speaker 11: our history and a rigorous teaching of how to interact
• 17:14
Speaker 11: with our government and how our form of government works.
• 17:18
Speaker 3: Well, I can say this, and I don't know how
• 17:20
Speaker 3: much they're actually retaining this, but A and of course
• 17:22
Speaker 3: you and I have never met till this interview, but
• 17:25
Speaker 3: in a past life, I used to work for the
• 17:26
Speaker 3: West Virginia Secretary of State's office and we went into
• 17:29
Speaker 3: schools into Civics classes. So the classes are there and
• 17:33
  Speaker 3: they're they're being taught, and I just don't know how
• 17:36
Speaker 3: much the kids maybe are retaining of it. But the
• 17:39
Speaker 3: Civics is a requirement, uh in schools and uh. But
• 17:43
Speaker 3: but again, it's just like with math or anything else.
• 17:45
Speaker 3: I guess you have some teachers that are better at it,
• 17:47
Speaker 3: I guess than others. Do you think that that when
• 17:50
Speaker 3: you hear these numbers, does it seem like we're putting
• 17:53
Speaker 3: a lot? I mean, it kind of seems to me
• 17:55
Speaker 3: like there's a lot of blame put on the school system,
• 17:56
Speaker 3: and I completely understand that, But but then there's some
• 18:00
Speaker 3: sort of parental responsibility here as well, where where does
• 18:03
  Speaker 3: that factor.
• 18:03
Speaker 11: In parental responsibility in terms of like civics and government.
• 18:09
Speaker 3: Mathat I mean a lot of that stuff I actually
• 18:12
  Speaker 3: learned at home.
• 18:14
Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean I did too, right, Like my dad
• 18:16
Speaker 11: was a navy man and I learned all about everything.
• 18:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely home.
• 18:24
Speaker 7: But not all kids have that, I guess, no, not
• 18:26
Speaker 7: all kids have that, and not all parents are prepared
• 18:29
Speaker 7: to talk about right like the structure and function of
• 18:32
Speaker 7: government and home and.
• 18:34
Speaker 11: You know, to your earlier point, they are teaching it
• 18:37
Speaker 11: like there. I have no doubt in my mind that
• 18:39
Speaker 11: there are civics classes out there, but just as a
• 18:42
Speaker 11: reference point, you know, my background was that I was
• 18:45
Speaker 11: a Civics and government teacher for fifteen years in the
• 18:48
Speaker 11: school system and then trained other teachers, teaching how them
• 18:52
Speaker 11: how to properly teach the American government in their classrooms.
• 18:57
Speaker 11: And it's definitely happening. But one of the things that
• 19:00
Speaker 11: I find is if we're waiting until middle and high
• 19:04
Speaker 11: school to have these conversations, it's a little bit too late.
• 19:09
Speaker 11: Elementary school teachers should be teaching these things too, And
• 19:12
Speaker 11: you know, Mas and Ela, course, parents should be supporting
• 19:15
Speaker 11: their children at home, but not every parent is in
• 19:18
Speaker 11: a position to do that.
• 19:19
  Speaker 3: I got you.
• 19:20
Speaker 11: You know, I taught kids in elementary school that you know,
• 19:24
Speaker 11: their parents work evening shifts and they walked home from
• 19:26
Speaker 11: the school bus and didn't see anybody until in the morning.
• 19:28
  Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good point. It's a very good point,
• 19:31
Speaker 3: and I appreciate you bringing that up. But Dave Allan
• 19:33

• 19:55
Speaker 3: Before we wrap this up, a couple of other quick points.
• 19:57
Speaker 3: A lot of parents say that they don't understand how
• 19:59
Speaker 3: school budgets work. And we spent a lot of time
• 20:03
Speaker 3: here in Kanawhac County talking about money for schools because
• 20:07
Speaker 3: we're in the midst of a lot of school closing, consolidation, hearing.
• 20:10
Speaker 3: There's another one coming up tonight here in Kanawhac County.
• 20:13
Speaker 3: So a lot of parents, I've got questions about budget
• 20:16
Speaker 3: issues when it comes to schools as well.
• 20:19
Speaker 11: Yeah, and that is one hundred percent fair concern. I
• 20:22
Speaker 11: think you know, you can access at some very high
• 20:27
Speaker 11: level some information about how money is spent, but the
• 20:31
Speaker 11: buckets are very big buckets where a lot of the
• 20:34
Speaker 11: detail gets lost. They're not located on the district's website,
• 20:39
Speaker 11: and so, in my opinion, financial transparency is well a
• 20:45
Speaker 11: this is taxpayer dollars. These are publicly funded schools, and
• 20:49
Speaker 11: they should be required to list out their expenditures. Like
• 20:53
Speaker 11: I want to know exactly what's happening here, and I
• 20:55
Speaker 11: think that parents might not know where to find that where.
• 20:59
Speaker 11: If I was a parent and my kid is in
• 21:00
Speaker 11: the school down the street, I would go to Riley
• 21:03
Speaker 11: County Districts website and look for it there. And I
• 21:06
Speaker 11: think parents had got to demand that information about how
• 21:11
Speaker 11: those tax dollars are being spent is easily accessible, understandable
• 21:15
Speaker 11: to a layperson who finds it on the website and
• 21:18
Speaker 11: can see how those funds are being used.
• 21:22
Speaker 3: They have a right to note that Tiffany Hoben again
• 21:25

Speaker 3: morning to a meeting, but we have a replacement I
• 22:45
Speaker 3: think for Woody Woods in studio with us this morning.
• 22:48
Speaker 13: Hi, I'm Woody Woods.
• 22:50
Speaker 3: That is not what he woods. That is Steve Animal

• 22:56
  Speaker 3: I am.
• 22:57
Speaker 13: I am about eight inches.
• 23:01
Speaker 3: So this is a big event, you know, Trick or Beat,
• 23:03
Speaker 3: and we've been doing this for a long long time.
• 23:05
Speaker 3: Couldn't do it without the folks at Selango Law. There's
• 23:07
Speaker 3: a ton of other sponsors and we'll be talking about
• 23:09
Speaker 3: those over the next couple of days that get it out.
• 23:11
Speaker 3: But you know, I mean, this is a this is
• 23:14
Speaker 3: a big event, mister Animal.
• 23:16
Speaker 13: Yes, it is coming up this Thursday, there's two shifts,
• 23:19
Speaker 13: two options for you to roll into the park at
• 23:21
Speaker 13: six to seven or seven thirty to eight thirty. And
• 23:24
Speaker 13: I know we've been doing away tickets. I was up
• 23:26
Speaker 13: at the front desk a little bit earlier. Some people
• 23:29
Speaker 13: over from Piedmont walked in, some people actually from the
• 23:32
Speaker 13: city looking for tickets for their kids, which is pretty awesome.
• 23:35
Speaker 13: So it's going to be a great night. The weather
• 23:37
Speaker 13: is supposed to cooperate too, so lots of fun, lots
• 23:40
Speaker 13: of candy, lots of.
• 23:41
Speaker 3: Fun, lots of candy, I mean, what could what more
• 23:45
Speaker 3: could you ask for? And and wood he woulds and
• 23:48
Speaker 3: g Mommy and all the folks from the beat at
• 23:50
Speaker 3: all your crew, well pretty much the entire career. I
• 23:52
Speaker 3: am not going to be there. I was there last year,
• 23:55
Speaker 3: but I will be because Rob is out walking to Morgantown.
• 23:58
Speaker 3: Somebody's got to do some work here. So I am
• 24:01
Speaker 3: going to be on our sister station KWS doing a
• 24:03
Speaker 3: live broadcast from the Putnam Career Technical Center on Thursday night,
• 24:07
Speaker 3: So I will not be a part of it. But again,
• 24:09
Speaker 3: as Steve said, it is Thursday night, and you do
• 24:13
Speaker 3: have to have tickets, but the tickets are free. And
• 24:17
Speaker 3: I was standing out front talking to Tracy and the
• 24:19
Speaker 3: folks out front and yourself a little bit earlier. People
• 24:22
Speaker 3: just roll up into our office here eleven eleven Virginia
• 24:25
Speaker 3: Streets in Charleston and pick up the tickets. Yeah, and
• 24:30
Speaker 3: this very easily could sell out. I mean, you know,
• 24:32
Speaker 3: and again the tickets are free, but just for a
• 24:34
Speaker 3: head count, we have to have it. And parents don't
• 24:36
Speaker 3: have to have tickets. It's only for the kids. I
• 24:39
Speaker 3: was talking to a mother out there that showed up
• 24:40
Speaker 3: that she had was bringing two kids. And there are
• 24:42
Speaker 3: two sessions, so you got to decide do you want
• 24:44
Speaker 3: the six o'clock or the seven thirty. And as I mentioned,
• 24:47
Speaker 3: Slango Law is the title sponsor on this, but there's
• 24:49
Speaker 3: a whole lot of other folks that are making it possible.
• 24:51
Speaker 13: Too true, there's a six ticket limit on that, but
• 24:53
Speaker 13: a whole slew of people, your friends and family, co workers,

• 25:29
Speaker 3: And last year was the first year that I actually
• 25:31
Speaker 3: got to participate in it because the other years I
• 25:33
Speaker 3: had other things going on. But I mean this thing.
• 25:36
Speaker 3: The lines go way down the street. But again once
• 25:39
Speaker 3: the tickets are gone, that's it. And it was sold
• 25:43
Speaker 3: out and we had to cut off the tickets. So
• 25:44
Speaker 3: over I must say, over the next one or two days,
• 25:47
Speaker 3: you need to make your way parents or grandparents down
• 25:50
Speaker 3: to eleven eleven Virginia Street Eats in Charleston during normal
• 25:53
Speaker 3: business hours and pick up the tickets. The tickets are free,
• 25:56
Speaker 3: but again just for the head count purpose. And the
• 25:58
Speaker 3: parents don't need tickets, only only the kids. Because you
• 26:01
Speaker 3: don't have tickets, you don't get in. We have two
• 26:03
Speaker 3: different I want to say shows or performances or whatever
• 26:07
Speaker 3: you want to call out events between six and seven
• 26:09

• 26:12
Speaker 3: a great job as a Woody Wood surrogate. Oh thank you.
• 26:17
Speaker 13: I feel very privileged and thank you for the opportunity.
• 26:20
Speaker 13: What are he for sleeping in this morning?
• 26:21
Speaker 3: Now? What he actually had a meeting? I talked to
• 26:23
Speaker 3: him last night. What he has a music? Because you know,
• 26:26
Speaker 3: all that music that they play on the Beat's got
• 26:27
Speaker 3: to come from somewhere. And I think he was in
• 26:29
Speaker 3: a musical beating a meeting with some or beating as
• 26:31
Speaker 3: I said, yes, with record executives this morning. So we'll
• 26:35
Speaker 3: try to have him on on Thursday show. But again
• 26:37
Speaker 3: to Beat and a lot of our folks, not all,
• 26:39
Speaker 3: but a lot of our folks are going to be

Speaker 3: having an issue with headphones in here because someone likes
• 29:34
Speaker 3: to lift the adapters for some reason. But we were
• 29:37
Speaker 3: able to get it taken care of, so Ryan, never mind.
• 29:40
Speaker 16: I found you do not need an adapter. That's a adapters.
• 29:43
Speaker 16: Do you have a quarter inch input in an eighth
• 29:45
Speaker 16: inch input over here?
• 29:46
Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't know. That's the voice of Mike Pushkin.
• 29:50
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 29:50

• 29:57
Speaker 3: to check in on Rob Reel on its wall from
• 29:59
Speaker 3: Charleston to Morgantown, Mary and Klater, a Democrat candidate for
• 30:02
Speaker 3: state auditor is going to be on the show tomorrow.
• 30:04
Speaker 3: Good friend Anthony Lewis reached media is here. He's spearheading
• 30:07
Speaker 3: this big party Saturday night. It's kind of a fundraiser,
• 30:09
Speaker 3: if you will. We'll talk about that having in Buffalo
• 30:11
Speaker 3: Wild Wings. We'll get into that tomorrow and also on
• 30:15
Speaker 3: the show. State Senator Mike Stewart is on the show

• 30:28
Speaker 16: It's really nice in here. I mean even have two
• 30:30
Speaker 16: different inputs for the headphones we just found and yeah,
• 30:33
Speaker 16: this is this is really nice. I want you to
• 30:35
Speaker 16: keep it neat though, I mean they put they made
• 30:37
Speaker 16: this really nice studio for you, and I want you to.
• 30:39
Speaker 3: Take care of it day well, you know I take
• 30:41
Speaker 3: care of it or last year. I'm a neat for light.
• 30:43
Speaker 3: So you don't have to worry about Dave and this
• 30:45
Speaker 3: I'm kind of and this is only our temporary home
• 30:47
Speaker 3: because this is kind of the transitional studio. We're gonna
• 30:50
Speaker 3: be in there for a couple of months while they
• 30:51
Speaker 3: redo our studio which is in the old location upstairs,
• 30:54
Speaker 3: and we'll move back there and then all the stations
• 30:57
Speaker 3: will just kind of, you know, kind of move through
• 31:00
Speaker 3: here until we get it all done. But eventually we
• 31:03
Speaker 3: will be on camera. So keep that in mind. You'll
• 31:05
Speaker 3: be on You'll be on camera.
• 31:07
Speaker 16: Well, I'll just start dressing nicer that you look pretty
• 31:09
Speaker 16: good today. Today I have a meeting after this, and
• 31:12
Speaker 16: I'm dressed. I'm presentable today. But as you know, sometimes
• 31:15
Speaker 16: I dressed for radio.
• 31:17
Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh, should we talk about the Jets last night
• 31:19
  Speaker 3: or not?
• 31:20
Speaker 16: Well, I'm extremely tired. I drove on I was, I was,
• 31:24
Speaker 16: you know, there were you know, some people know that
• 31:28
Speaker 16: the former President Trump was at the game. He was
• 31:31
Speaker 16: not the only dignitary at the game last night. I
• 31:35
Speaker 16: was also at the game, and the second half was
• 31:38
Speaker 16: not very good for my Jets. But congratulation to the
• 31:41
Speaker 16: Steelers and all the Steelers fans. But I drove drove
• 31:44
Speaker 16: back all night because I didn't want to miss seeing you.
• 31:46
  Speaker 11: Dave.
• 31:47
Speaker 16: Well, I appreciate I drove all drove through the night,
• 31:49
Speaker 16: you know, slept for a couple of hours. I've got
• 31:51
Speaker 16: some coffee here, good to go, a little studio by
• 31:54
  Speaker 16: the way, Well, I got it's got a it's a
• 31:57
Speaker 16: non spillable cot. But I had a friendly bet with
• 32:03
Speaker 16: Mayor Glen Elliott, our our nominee for United States Senate.
• 32:07
Speaker 16: He is a Steelers fan, and we had a friendly bet,
• 32:11
Speaker 16: like five dollars. I'll publicly say that I owe Glenn
• 32:15
Speaker 16: Elliott five dollars. I owe him money, unlike his opponent,
• 32:19
Speaker 16: who owes everybody money.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: I knew currently had his debts paid off.
• 32:24
Speaker 16: Some of his debts paid off by a Saudi bank,
• 32:27
Speaker 16: from what I understand, which is incredibly compromising for somebody
• 32:32
Speaker 16: who wants to be in the United States Senate. But no,
• 32:33
Speaker 16: I owe Glenn Elliott five dollars. He doesn't owe anybody anything,
• 32:38
  Speaker 16: unlike his opponent.
• 32:39
Speaker 3: Speaking of as you were earlier about you were up
• 32:43
Speaker 3: for the game, Former President Donald Trump was also at
• 32:46
Speaker 3: the game. I got a text about that. I'm going
• 32:48
Speaker 3: to get to that here momentarily. I have to say, though,
• 32:51
Speaker 3: that come on Saturday night. I guess when Trump did
• 32:53
Speaker 3: the appearance in Latro, Pennsylvania. I did not have a
• 32:56
Speaker 3: former president talking about the size of a late Arnold's
• 33:00
Speaker 3: penis on my Bengo car.
• 33:01
Speaker 16: That was just odd. And I saw that Arnold Palmer's daughter,
• 33:05
Speaker 16: one of his daughters came out and said it was
• 33:07
Speaker 16: really inappropriate. I think disrespectful to the memory of her father.
• 33:12
  Speaker 3: I did.
• 33:12
Speaker 16: I wasn't watching it, but I heard about it, and
• 33:15
Speaker 16: why on earth? Well, something's going on.
• 33:18
  Speaker 15: You know.
• 33:18
Speaker 16: There's a lot of talk after the first debate that
• 33:21
Speaker 16: Biden had to get out of the race. Yeah, that
• 33:23
Speaker 16: talk should have been about Donald Trump as well. He
• 33:27
Speaker 16: got up and danced on stage. But last week, Uh,
• 33:31
Speaker 16: during a town hall, he just decided to quit answering
• 33:34
Speaker 16: questions and dance for forty minutes.
• 33:37
Speaker 3: If that's what you call what he does, I don't know.
• 33:39
Speaker 3: If you watch it.
• 33:40
Speaker 16: He was just swaying back and forth to Ave Barria,
• 33:42
Speaker 16: which is not exactly a dance number.
• 33:44
Speaker 3: Well, and he's also got to find us for YMCA
• 33:46
Speaker 3: and I'm just gonna leave that. I'm gonna leave that one.
• 33:48
Speaker 16: A He's he's got to find us for music that
• 33:51
Speaker 16: he's allowed to use legally because the those who write
• 33:54
Speaker 16: the music didn't suit. A lot of times he'll use
• 33:57
Speaker 16: songs and then get sued over it. Apparently Franz Schubert,
• 34:01
Speaker 16: who wrote Ive Maria, hasn't sued him yet, but it's coming.
• 34:06
Speaker 3: Uh that Texas Dave we get dementia Donald awkwardly swinging
• 34:10
Speaker 3: to music for near forty minutes. Then we get ding
• 34:12
Speaker 3: Dong Donald finding over Arnold Palmer's manhood. Then we got
• 34:16
Speaker 3: Ronald McDonald pretended to work and he closed McDonald's. I'd
• 34:20
Speaker 3: be embarrassed to vote for that mentally declining geriatric. I
• 34:23
  Speaker 3: don't know was the McDonald's close. I don't know why
• 34:25
  Speaker 3: it was, but.
• 34:26
Speaker 16: It's just he's playing, you know, he's playing McDonald. The
• 34:29
Speaker 16: guy's never actually had to work, and he's head of
• 34:32
Speaker 16: a restaurant job. And we all know he was born
• 34:34
Speaker 16: the son of Fred Trump, you know, born to a
• 34:37
Speaker 16: real estate magnet in New York City who has sued
• 34:41
Speaker 16: countless times for civil rights violations. By the way, but no,
• 34:45
Speaker 16: I don't think he had that might have. That's probably
• 34:47
Speaker 16: the first time he set foot in the McDonald's.
• 34:49
Speaker 3: Well. No, well, he probably maybe the first time he
• 34:52
Speaker 3: set foot in there. But he is known to be
• 34:53
  Speaker 3: quite the McDonald's.
• 34:55
Speaker 16: You're I remember that time when he bought all the McDonald's.
• 34:59
  Speaker 2: Well.
• 34:59
Speaker 3: He the the White House staffers say that he's quite
• 35:01
Speaker 3: fond of laying in bed and needing McDonald's and watching
• 35:05
Speaker 3: himself on Fox News. That's a quote from people that
• 35:07
Speaker 3: have worked there. I lost a little bit of respect
• 35:09
Speaker 3: for Donald Trump when I found out he orders his
• 35:11
Speaker 3: steak medium or I'm sorry, well done, and puts ketchup
• 35:14
Speaker 3: on it, because that's just that's that's not of God.
• 35:17
  Speaker 16: In my opinion.
• 35:18
Speaker 3: The only thing I would say is, if your grandpa
• 35:21
Speaker 3: started acting the way Donald Trump has in public, could
• 35:24
Speaker 3: probably not take him out in public anymore.
• 35:26
Speaker 16: I'm just saying it's odd. Arnold Palmer Rant was incredibly odd,
• 35:31
  Speaker 16: and I you know, well, I know I won't be
• 35:34
  Speaker 16: voting for him.
• 35:36
Speaker 3: Texas. The McDonald's was closed for a few hours in
• 35:38
Speaker 3: Trump's visit. The customers who served with supporters who were
• 35:41
Speaker 3: screened ahead of time, says the thing, and maybe there's
• 35:44
Speaker 3: a safety issue there, and you know, possibly, I understand,
• 35:47
Speaker 3: I'm reaching. I'm reaching. I'm trying to give him benefit,
• 35:49
Speaker 3: but I don't think I could do that, Texas. Dave,
• 35:51
Speaker 3: could you inquire with Deligate Pushkin about the Iran and
• 35:54
Speaker 3: Afghanistan War monument that was to be built at the
• 35:57
Speaker 3: state capitol in a similar fashion to the other war
• 35:59
Speaker 3: memorial there. He sponsored a great bill that passed in
• 36:02
Speaker 3: twenty twenty to build it. But now we're pushing twenty
• 36:04
Speaker 3: twenty five. A lot of Iraq in Afghanistan vets and
• 36:07
Speaker 3: gold star families are scratching our heads. We fought to
• 36:10
Speaker 3: and deserve a monument on par with those who fought
• 36:12
  Speaker 3: innother war.
• 36:13
Speaker 16: I really appreciate that question. We did push a bill through,
• 36:19
Speaker 16: not a resolution either, an actual you know, actual legislation
• 36:22
Speaker 16: that went through years ago to honor those who paid
• 36:28
Speaker 16: the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives for wars in
• 36:30
Speaker 16: this century. I mean, we have there are other great
• 36:33
Speaker 16: war monuments up there at the at the state Capitol,
• 36:37
Speaker 16: but there wasn't anything for those who gave their lives
• 36:41
Speaker 16: in this century and the ongoing war on terrand, war
• 36:44
Speaker 16: in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq. And we passed that,
• 36:48
Speaker 16: of course of passinganimously, and it was signed into law.
• 36:52
Speaker 16: And then and more recently there was another bill that
• 36:55
Speaker 16: even spelled out more specifically what the monument should look
• 37:00
Speaker 16: like and even and how to pay for it everything.
• 37:02
Speaker 16: And there hasn't been as far as I know, no
• 37:04
Speaker 16: movement on that from the uh uh you know, from
• 37:07
Speaker 16: the division of culture. I believe it's through the division
• 37:10
Speaker 16: of culture has probably that are the Capitol Building Commission,
• 37:13
Speaker 16: of course, which is is shaired by cabinet level position.
• 37:17
Speaker 16: Now who was allee, But it's I don't want to
• 37:23
Speaker 16: get any trouble here, but when you have stuff that's
• 37:25
Speaker 16: there is no legislation for, and you're pushing something through
• 37:28
Speaker 16: to put you know, baby dogs picture into a mural
• 37:31
Speaker 16: and spending tax dollars on things like that, but then
• 37:34
Speaker 16: it's very frustrating for us where something that we all
• 37:36
Speaker 16: agreed on in the legislature pass for this monument and
• 37:39
Speaker 16: so far, you know, there's very little movement on that,
• 37:43
Speaker 16: and it's it's incredibly uh, disrespectful, and I share the
• 37:48
Speaker 16: textures frustration. And that was they passed a bill, We
• 37:51
Speaker 16: passed two bills on it. And it seems like some
• 37:54
Speaker 16: people in state government, some unelected folks in state government
• 37:57
Speaker 16: just do whatever they want. A lot of them happen
• 37:59
Speaker 16: to work work for Governor Justice.
• 38:01
Speaker 3: That was the whole rub on the whole thing with
• 38:04
Speaker 3: baby dog in the portrait. It wasn't about the dog.
• 38:07
Speaker 3: And I know I got texted the show when people said, well,
• 38:09
Speaker 3: aren't there more important things to worry about? And I
• 38:11
Speaker 3: agree with that. However, however, it's the process. And in
• 38:16
Speaker 3: state government. As someone who used to work at the capitol,
• 38:18
Speaker 3: I can tell you you don't move a vase in
• 38:21
Speaker 3: an office without consulting with the groundscrew there or whatever
• 38:25
Speaker 3: they're called. I mean, seriously, if you wanted to rearrange
• 38:27
Speaker 3: an office, you have to have permission. In the office
• 38:29
Speaker 3: I worked in, if you wanted to rearrange anything I'm
• 38:32
Speaker 3: talking about just moving one desk to the other side,
• 38:34
Speaker 3: you had to have permission.
• 38:35
Speaker 16: And so you know, that's that's where the lack of transparency,
• 38:40
Speaker 16: the lack of accessibility, the lack of you know, when
• 38:45
Speaker 16: I say accessibility mean for the public to get questions
• 38:48
Speaker 16: answered by this by the Justice administration. It all starts
• 38:53
Speaker 16: from the top. I say, there's old saying of fish
• 38:57
Speaker 16: rots from the head, and that's the problem is the
• 39:00
Speaker 16: guy at the top. And so when somebody doesn't show
• 39:03
Speaker 16: up for work, either their cabinet secretary, sometimes we'll just
• 39:08
Speaker 16: well sometimes not do what they're supposed to do, and
• 39:11
Speaker 16: sometimes they do things that they're not supposed to do
• 39:14
Speaker 16: and just act. And I think in that particular division
• 39:18
Speaker 16: you have folks who just act without being transparent with
• 39:22
Speaker 16: the taxpayer's money. And unfortunately in other departments there's not
• 39:27
Speaker 16: enough getting done. As when you're talking about the departments
• 39:31
Speaker 16: that oversee our overburdened boster care system or the IDD
• 39:37
Speaker 16: waiver program or things like that, not enough is getting done.
• 39:40
Speaker 16: And in other places they just can just do whatever
• 39:43
Speaker 16: they want without answering anybody because the boss doesn't show
• 39:46
Speaker 16: up for work. And that's the ongoing theme, is that
• 39:49
Speaker 16: the boss doesn't show up.
• 39:50
Speaker 3: Much like a lot of offices that are listening right now,
• 39:52
Speaker 3: the boss doesn't show up.
• 39:54
Speaker 16: Bad things, that's right.
• 39:56
Speaker 3: It's like we have a substitute teacher in school, Texas.
• 39:58
Speaker 3: I learned from home that the Deep State attempted to
• 40:01
Speaker 3: steal an election from Donald Trump. Then I learned from
• 40:03
Speaker 3: the Secretary of State that the CIA tried to rig
• 40:06
Speaker 3: the election. Then I learned from Representative Mooney and Miller
• 40:09
Speaker 3: that the vice president can reject any valid electoral votes
• 40:11
Speaker 3: just because the president says so. Then I learned from
• 40:14
Speaker 3: Senator Capito that it is an oath of office for
• 40:17
Speaker 3: senators includes endorsing political violence. Then I learned that the
• 40:20
Speaker 3: president can sickt the military and Americans who disagree with
• 40:23
Speaker 3: the President by calling them enemies within then I learned
• 40:26
Speaker 3: from Republicans that anyone who's not a Republican is a Marxist,
• 40:29
Speaker 3: socialist and communist. See, I have a robust education on civics,
• 40:33
Speaker 3: very very tongue in cheek there.
• 40:35
Speaker 16: But but unfortunately, unfortunately, all these things have been said
• 40:39
Speaker 16: by many elected officials and people who should be responsible
• 40:42
Speaker 16: with their rhetoric, especially you know, the chief election officer
• 40:47
Speaker 16: of the state of West Virginia who attended to stop
• 40:50
Speaker 16: the Steel rally when he was the chief election officer
• 40:53
Speaker 16: of the state. Now it's uh, you know, it is
• 40:56
Speaker 16: very concerning. And that's really I think what really bothers
• 40:59
Speaker 16: me the most about politics These days, people can say
• 41:03
Speaker 16: things that are just so incredibly irresponsible and dangerous, and
• 41:07
Speaker 16: they just repeat the lie and repeat the lie and
• 41:09
Speaker 16: repeat the lie. And you've got a guy like Elon
• 41:11
Speaker 16: Musk who bought Twitter, changed the name of it, you know,
• 41:16
Speaker 16: what do you call it? The Artists formerly known Artists,
• 41:19
Speaker 16: and and and he pushes his own account which is
• 41:23
Speaker 16: constantly pushing misinformation, and it is misinformation. And I just
• 41:28
Speaker 16: read this this story recently where he is has these
• 41:31
Speaker 16: fake websites that are pretending to be Harris Wall's websites
• 41:35
Speaker 16: where they're putting out of like fake platform, like things
• 41:39
Speaker 16: that that that Vice President Harris and Governor Wallas have
• 41:42
Speaker 16: never said, but they're putting it out as this fake
• 41:44
Speaker 16: platform and acting there, they're acting like they are official
• 41:48
Speaker 16: websites of the campaign, and you know, it's it's incredibly
• 41:52
Speaker 16: dangerous and I'm I definitely worried about the the direction
• 41:56
Speaker 16: our country of politics, like that, the whole little.
• 41:59
Speaker 3: Spiel they have it about fake news. I think it
• 42:01
Speaker 3: was on Thursday or Friday's show, and then over the
• 42:03
Speaker 3: weekend there's something that's being circulated on social media that
• 42:08
Speaker 3: has this tree of everybody that's related and supposedly it
• 42:13
Speaker 3: was like, you know, Adam Adam Shift was married to that.
• 42:17
  Speaker 3: None of it's.
• 42:19
  Speaker 16: Anybody can share.
• 42:20
Speaker 3: The simple Google search will tell you. I think it
• 42:23
Speaker 3: was Adam Schiff's sister was supposed to be married. Adam
• 42:25
  Speaker 3: Shift doesn't have a sister. I looked, you know, I
• 42:28
Speaker 3: googled it myself. You know, he doesn't have a sister.
• 42:31
Speaker 5: But you know, none of that.
• 42:32
Speaker 16: Was true, and I look, I'm one hundred percent for
• 42:34
Speaker 16: free speech, but we got there's also a responsibility that
• 42:37
Speaker 16: comes with freedom, and just because you can do something,
• 42:41
Speaker 16: doesn't mean you should do something. And Elon Musk is
• 42:43
Speaker 16: really pushing the boundaries of it because he owns this
• 42:46
Speaker 16: huge social media company, is able to control so much misinformation,
• 42:51
Speaker 16: and it's stuff like that that he's putting out there.
• 42:53
Speaker 16: And you know, if anybody should be concerned about somebody
• 42:57
Speaker 16: in the media or on social media should be Elon.
• 43:01
Speaker 3: Texas, Mike, the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Abu Dhabi paid
• 43:03
Speaker 3: off Jimbo's loans. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the
• 43:07
Speaker 3: United Era of Immirates, not of Saudi Arabia.
• 43:09
Speaker 16: Okay, I stand corrected. So he is taking foreign money
• 43:12
Speaker 16: to pay off his debts, yes, Texas.
• 43:15
Speaker 3: Dave tell Mike he is reaching for straws and continues
• 43:18
Speaker 3: to attack a former president who has a history of
• 43:20
Speaker 3: great policies for this nation. He needs to realize one.
• 43:23
Speaker 3: He needs to realize that the Democratic Party is done
• 43:26
Speaker 3: in West Virginia and being less and less than the nation.
• 43:29
Speaker 3: Democrats have too many damaging policies common sense, Mike.
• 43:32
Speaker 16: Well, let's name some of these policies. What were the
• 43:35
Speaker 16: policies of Donald Trump were a huge tax cut for
• 43:39
Speaker 16: the rich people like Elon Musk, and that's probably why
• 43:41
Speaker 16: people like Elon Musk are putting so much money into
• 43:44
Speaker 16: this campaign, because they're the ones who really benefit from
• 43:47
Speaker 16: these these top ended tax cuts. He packed the courts
• 43:52
Speaker 16: with judges who have been really you know, anti labor,
• 43:56
Speaker 16: anti women. They overturned Rovid and now in a state
• 44:01
Speaker 16: like West Virginia, women have lost fifty years of reproductive
• 44:07
Speaker 16: freedom that they had under Row has been taken away
• 44:10
Speaker 16: in states like West Virginia who haven't been allowed to
• 44:13
Speaker 16: vote on it. Like he says, we're going to send
• 44:15
Speaker 16: it back to the states and let them vote on it. Well,
• 44:17
Speaker 16: West Virginia hasn't been allowed to do that. And he
• 44:19
Speaker 16: stripped away a lot of regulations that kept us safe,
• 44:24
Speaker 16: kept our water cleaner, kept our air cleaner, things like
• 44:26
Speaker 16: that that were meant to just help people. That's what
• 44:31
Speaker 16: his policies were. That's all he did. Now if you
• 44:36
Speaker 16: look at what the policies have been since then, we
• 44:39
Speaker 16: were able to get out of the worst pandemic we've
• 44:42
Speaker 16: had in one hundred years, were the worst economic crisis
• 44:44
Speaker 16: we've had in one hundred years, through the American Rescue
• 44:47
Speaker 16: Plan that actually sent money down to the cities and
• 44:50
Speaker 16: the counties and bypassed governors like Jim Justice, who never
• 44:53
Speaker 16: spent the Cares Act money. When he did, he did
• 44:55
Speaker 16: it on the baby dog truck sweepstakes. He was able
• 44:59
Speaker 16: to President Biden and Vice President Harris were able to
• 45:02
Speaker 16: pass the Infrastructure Bill that has sent all sorts of
• 45:05
Speaker 16: investment to states like West Virginia, helped us rebuild our
• 45:08
Speaker 16: roads and our bridges, put a lot of people to
• 45:11
Speaker 16: work here. He was able to pass Biden and Harris
• 45:14
Speaker 16: administration able to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which also
• 45:18
Speaker 16: incentivized a lot of investment here in West Virginia. And
• 45:20
Speaker 16: that's why you have these announcements like Form Energy and
• 45:24
Speaker 16: New Core And I could go on and on, but
• 45:25
Speaker 16: you're waving at me to wrap. Those are the policies
• 45:29
Speaker 16: that have benefited West Virginia from the Biden Harris administration.
• 45:32
Speaker 16: There weren't any under Trump but.

Speaker 3: got rid of folks like him here in Florida, and
• 48:37
Speaker 3: hopefully West Virginia will dump he and Kayla Young.
• 48:40
Speaker 16: Look. I talk honestly about the state because I love
• 48:43
Speaker 16: this state and I feel that people deserve better. Especially
• 48:47
Speaker 16: you know our teachers and other workers in the public
• 48:49
Speaker 16: sector here who are finding out now under once again,
• 48:53
Speaker 16: under the watch of Jim Justice and the Republican legislature,
• 48:56
Speaker 16: their health insurance is going to go up. The PIA
• 48:58
Speaker 16: premiums are going to go up in it's not fair
• 49:01
Speaker 16: to them. And in fact Governor Justice said early in
• 49:05
Speaker 16: his UH in his administration of PI, I think it
• 49:08
Speaker 16: was during one of the the teacher strikes where PI
• 49:11
Speaker 16: was not gonna they weren't going to raise premiums under
• 49:13
Speaker 16: his watch. Well, they already have once and now they're
• 49:15
Speaker 16: talking about doing it again. And I feel the real
• 49:18
Speaker 16: motive here and the real goal of the Republican Party
• 49:21
Speaker 16: in West Virginia is to privatize it and to throw
• 49:24
Speaker 16: our teachers and other people who work in public and
• 49:28
Speaker 16: public service are going to throw.
• 49:29
Speaker 3: Them to the wolves.
• 49:30
Speaker 16: And we don't have enough teachers now, we don't have
• 49:32
Speaker 16: enough correctional officers, now, we don't have enough people working
• 49:36
Speaker 16: for child protective services. Now, how are we going to
• 49:38
Speaker 16: attract more people to that when we keep raising their
• 49:41
Speaker 16: premiums without giving them enough raises to offset it. And
• 49:44
Speaker 16: you know who's really getting uh? Can I say screwed. Sure,
• 49:47
Speaker 16: I'll tell you who's I refer to Arnold Palmers Penis.
• 49:50
Speaker 16: I'm not going to be as as filthy as the
• 49:53
Speaker 16: former president was. But who's really getting screwed in West
• 49:56
Speaker 16: Virginia are retirees, our former state workers who are retirees,
• 50:00
Speaker 16: and they don't get a cost of AVIC adjustment. Yet
• 50:02
Speaker 16: their healthcare costs keep going up and up and up
• 50:04
Speaker 16: because people the legislature aren't able to do the heavy
• 50:08
Speaker 16: lifting and actually fund it and actually prioritize taking care
• 50:12
Speaker 16: of those who took care of us.
• 50:13
Speaker 3: You wanted to say something told me to have the
• 50:15
Speaker 3: break about polling numbers. Is that what you said? You
• 50:18
Speaker 3: said something about polling numbers.
• 50:19
Speaker 16: Pulling number? No, actually, I mean we could talk about
• 50:22
Speaker 16: that if you have a poll that we want to know.
• 50:24
Speaker 3: I thought you don't have anything.
• 50:27
  Speaker 16: I said.
• 50:27
Speaker 3: Rides to the polls, rides to the early voting.
• 50:30
Speaker 16: I just wantse Early voting in West Virginia starts on

• 51:02
Speaker 3: Are you concerned that either party or the station goes
• 51:05
Speaker 3: to that the country goes to hell in a handbasket
• 51:07
Speaker 3: if the other side wins, Because I hear a lot
• 51:09
  Speaker 3: about that.
• 51:10
Speaker 16: Give me twenty I'm very concerned about what was second
• 51:14
Speaker 16: Trump presidency would look like. But I do, uh, you know,
• 51:17
Speaker 16: great faith in this country. I think we're gonna be
• 51:19
Speaker 16: able to get through anything, even even that, hopefully, But no,
• 51:23
Speaker 16: I'm concerned about the consolidation of power and some of
• 51:25
Speaker 16: the dangerous rhetoric that he's thrown out there. So we're
• 51:28
Speaker 16: just all gonna vote as when we fight, we win, all.
