Speaker 1: We will sit down at the table and negotiate and
• 0:03
Speaker 1: see if the smart people in that system can take
• 0:06
Speaker 1: over from the crazy people. Well, here's the basic deal
• 0:09
Speaker 1: that we cut. The basic deal that we cut was
• 0:11
Speaker 1: we'll lift our blockade if you stop shooting at chips,
• 0:14
Speaker 1: but if you shoot at ships, we are going to
• 0:16
Speaker 1: punch back, and we're gonna punch back harder than ever before.
• 0:20
Speaker 2: That was the deal.
• 0:21
Speaker 1: They said they would stop shooting at ships. And what
• 0:23
Speaker 1: happened twenty four hours ago they start shooting at ships again.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Now they were good, they were well behaved for about
• 0:29
Speaker 1: a week, but then they start shooting at ships. So
• 0:31
Speaker 1: the deal is very simple. If they shoot at ships,
• 0:33
Speaker 1: we're going to knock the hell out of them. And
• 0:35
Speaker 1: it's that simple, and that's the basic way it's gonna work.
• 0:39
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:43
Speaker 3: Good Thursday morning. It's nice to have you with us
• 0:45
Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got a
• 0:47
Speaker 3: major story for you coming out of Iran. Donald Trump
• 0:51
Speaker 3: is declaring now that the Iranian ceasefire is over and
• 0:54
Speaker 3: America is hitting back at Iran hard at this hour. Well,
• 0:58
Speaker 3: the President's also saying now wants to make a deal,
• 1:02
Speaker 3: but they're crazy and sick people. We have all the
• 1:05
Speaker 3: audio and the breaking news. It's the forty seven Morning
• 1:08
Speaker 3: Update and it starts right now.
• 1:10
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 1:11
Speaker 3: We have major breaking news. President Donald Trump is making
• 1:14
Speaker 3: it crystal clear, as far as he's concerned, the ceasefire
• 1:18
Speaker 3: with Iran is over.
• 1:20
  Speaker 4: Now.
• 1:21
Speaker 3: Let me be clear, this is not speculation. That is
• 1:24
Speaker 3: exactly what he told reporters while attending the NATO summit.
• 1:27
Speaker 3: His words were blunt to me, I think it's over.
• 1:31
Speaker 3: I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum,
• 1:35
Speaker 3: They're led by sick people. The president United States of
• 1:38
Speaker 3: America making sure that we hit back extremely hard against Iran.
• 1:43
Speaker 3: And here's how they described it on ABC News and.
• 1:46
Speaker 5: The other breaking story at this hour, the US striking
• 1:48
Speaker 5: Iran right now, a US official telling ABC News at
• 1:52
Speaker 5: this hour, Tonight's operations are bigger in scope, meant it
• 1:55
Speaker 5: a greater Iron's ability to threaten ships in the Strait
• 1:57
Speaker 5: of Hormuz. Sencom releasing images of last night's attacks, saying
• 2:01
Speaker 5: they struck defense systems and coastal radar. Iran tonight saying
• 2:05
Speaker 5: it has targeted US military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait,
• 2:08
Speaker 5: and tonight promising more retaliation at this evening. Amid these
• 2:12
Speaker 5: new US strikes on Iran, oil prices already surging at
• 2:15
Speaker 5: our gas price is set to go up again. Rachel
• 2:18
Speaker 5: Scott leading US off.
• 2:19
Speaker 6: Tonight tonight as the US launches a new attack on Iran.
• 2:23
Speaker 6: The second and twenty four hours, President Trump now declaring
• 2:27
  Speaker 6: the ceasefire over.
• 2:28
Speaker 7: I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them,
• 2:31
Speaker 7: in with this scum. You know what scum is. There's
• 2:33
Speaker 7: something wrong with them. They're cuckoo.
• 2:35
Speaker 6: The new US strikes, hitting Iran's coastal radar sites and
• 2:38
Speaker 6: anti ship missile locations as a larger attack than last night,
• 2:44
Speaker 6: when eighty targets were hit. It comes in response to
• 2:48
Speaker 6: IRN firing on three cargo ships near the Strait of
• 2:50
Speaker 6: Her Moves. The big question what comes next? Overnight Iran
• 2:55
Speaker 6: launching missiles at US bases in the goal those missiles
• 2:59
  Speaker 6: intercept it.
• 3:00
Speaker 3: Now as you're going to hear there, even ABC News
• 3:02
Speaker 3: making it queer the present hitting back very hard. The
• 3:05
Speaker 3: President was also asked about what we can expect moving forward,
• 3:09
Speaker 3: and here's part of what he had to say in Turkey,
• 3:11
  Speaker 3: we're not attacking.
• 3:13
Speaker 4: At the highest level, the highest level of the bridges
• 3:19
Speaker 4: which we can knock down.
• 3:20
Speaker 8: I would say, in one day, we knocked down every
• 3:22
  Speaker 8: single bridge interrand.
• 3:23
Speaker 4: There's not a thing they can do about it.
• 3:26
Speaker 7: They're electric manufacturing facilities right their electric plants where they
• 3:32
Speaker 7: make their electricity in there.
• 3:35
Speaker 4: We will if we have to take them out. I
• 3:38
Speaker 4: don't want to do that, but if we have to,
• 3:40
Speaker 4: we'll take them out.
• 3:42
Speaker 7: They have desalinization plants, will take them out if we
• 3:45
  Speaker 7: have to.
• 3:45
Speaker 4: Hate to do that. That's probably the one I would
• 3:48
Speaker 4: like not to do. Least. We attacked carg Island last night.
• 3:52
Speaker 8: We knocked out a piece.
• 3:53
Speaker 7: I said, don't touch the oil because maybe we'll take
• 3:57
  Speaker 7: over Cargylan.
• 3:59
Speaker 4: We may take over. There's not a thing they can
• 4:02
  Speaker 4: do about it.
• 4:03
Speaker 3: And that wasn't all the President had to say about
• 4:05
Speaker 3: the warnings of what attacks could happen moving forward, what
• 4:08
Speaker 3: targets could happen, even taking over their island, which is
• 4:11
Speaker 3: where their oil comes in and out of. President Trump
• 4:14
Speaker 3: also said he's just sick and tired of dealing with
• 4:17
  Speaker 3: the Iranian negotiators.
• 4:19
Speaker 7: I don't want to deal with him and him with
• 4:20
Speaker 7: this scum. You know what scum is. There's scum, there's
• 4:23
  Speaker 7: sick people.
• 4:24
Speaker 9: President Trump opening the NATO summit by declaring, in his view,
• 4:28
Speaker 9: the agreement with Iran is off.
• 4:31
Speaker 4: There's something wrong with them. They're cuckoo.
• 4:33
Speaker 9: Appearing visibly angry, the President repeatedly criticized Iranian leaders.
• 4:38
Speaker 4: They're liars, their cheats, they're sick people.
• 4:43
Speaker 9: His comments came hours after renewed US strikes on Iran.
• 4:47
Speaker 9: Thick orange smoke seen rising over bandar Abas onto Iran's
• 4:52
Speaker 9: main naval base. US Central Command launched what it called
• 4:55
Speaker 9: a series of powerful strikes, hitting more than eighty Iranian targets,
• 4:59
Speaker 9: including air defense systems, radars, and at least sixty small boats,
• 5:03
Speaker 9: all after the US has Iran attacked three tankers in
• 5:06
Speaker 9: the Strait of Horror moves.
• 5:07
Speaker 4: I think for Judid last night was absolutely necessary. Those
• 5:10
Speaker 4: are very strongness points.
• 5:12
Speaker 9: Trump also revoked a waiver allowing the sale of Iranian
• 5:15
Speaker 9: oil on the world market. In response, atop Iranian warned,
• 5:19
Speaker 9: the era of bullying and extortion is over. It leads nowhere.
• 5:23
Speaker 9: We don't fold. Iran retaliated with a tax of its own,
• 5:27
Speaker 9: saying it launch strikes on eighty five American military targets
• 5:31
Speaker 9: in Mahraine and Kuwait. The attacks came during a pause
• 5:36
Speaker 9: and negotiations as Iran holds a massive days long funeral
• 5:39
Speaker 9: for Ayatola Ali Khamani, the Supreme leader, killed on the
• 5:43
Speaker 9: first day of US Israel attacks on Iran.
• 5:45
Speaker 7: We say, go and do your funeral stuff, and instead
• 5:49
Speaker 7: of it at the set shooting rockets at chips.
• 5:53
Speaker 9: At the summit, the President also unloaded on Alliance members
• 5:56
Speaker 9: for not doing enough to help the US against Iran.
• 5:59
Speaker 4: We protect them, then I did for us. Think of
• 6:01
Speaker 4: it because it work.
• 6:02
Speaker 3: The Trump Administration's message couldn't be stronger, and the media
• 6:06
Speaker 3: is clearly carrying that message. After the President said so
• 6:10
Speaker 3: bluntly what he thought about the deal being over and
• 6:13
Speaker 3: what could come next, and the White House laying it
• 6:15
Speaker 3: out again, saying for decades, Iran has used terrorism, proxy,
• 6:19
Speaker 3: malicious hostage taking, attacks on American troops, and threats against
• 6:24
Speaker 3: allies as tools of its foreign policy. President Trump says
• 6:29
Speaker 3: for forty seven years, Iran acted as the bully of
• 6:32
Speaker 3: the Middle East, and he said that error is ending now.
• 6:36
Speaker 3: The White House also emphasized that these latest operations are
• 6:39
Speaker 3: about much more than retaliation. They're about preventing Iran from
• 6:43
Speaker 3: ever becoming a nuclear weapons state. President Trump's to the
• 6:46
Speaker 3: United States is prepared to target additional strategic infrastructure if necessary,
• 6:51
Speaker 3: including their critical power facilities. He also suggested the US
• 6:56
Speaker 3: could dramatically increase pressure on Iran's vital oil infrastructure, including
• 7:02
Speaker 3: carg Island, the country's primary oil export terminal, with a
• 7:06
Speaker 3: threat that we may take it over. The administration has
• 7:10
Speaker 3: also reinstated those major oil sanctions against Iran, tightening the
• 7:14
Speaker 3: economic screws once again after determining Tehran violated the ceasefire agreement.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: Those sanctions are intended to cut off revenue that Washington
• 7:24
Speaker 3: says helps finance Iran's military and their terrorist proxy networks. Now,
• 7:29
Speaker 3: if you just take a step back, this isn't happening
• 7:32
Speaker 3: in isolation. President Trump is making these announcements while attending
• 7:35
Speaker 3: the NATO summit, where another major story is also unfolding.
• 7:40
Speaker 3: The White House says Trump has fundamentally changed NATO by
• 7:44
Speaker 3: pushing America's allies to shoulder more of the defense burden
• 7:48
Speaker 3: rather than relying overwhelmingly on US taxpayers. The administration argues
• 7:53
Speaker 3: that increase defend spinning by NATO members is now helping
• 7:57
Speaker 3: American manufacturing and strengthening the US defend industrial base as well.
• 8:02
Speaker 3: Trump also announced that the United States will license Ukraine
• 8:06
Speaker 3: to manufacture Patriot missile defense systems, while leaving open the
• 8:10
Speaker 3: possibility of future F thirty five sales to Turkey as well.
• 8:15
Speaker 3: So in one trip overseas, what you're seeing is multiple
• 8:19
Speaker 3: fronts of American foreign policy moving by the President simultaneously
• 8:24
Speaker 3: continued pressure on Iran, NATO burden sharing support for Ukraine's
• 8:30
Speaker 3: now air defense systems, strategic discussions with Turkey as well,
• 8:34
Speaker 3: and then the diplomatic regions across the Alliance. The White
• 8:38
Speaker 3: Houses also point to what they say are encouraging economic
• 8:41
Speaker 3: developments at home. President Trump highlighting walmart decision to lower
• 8:45
Speaker 3: grocery prices and urge other retailers to follow suit. He
• 8:50
Speaker 3: also argued that falling oil and gasoline prices should translate
• 8:54
Speaker 3: into lower prices for American consumers across the economy immediately.
• 8:59
Speaker 3: And the administrator is also celebrating several new investment announcements
• 9:03
Speaker 3: this week, including Apple reported thirty billion dollar investment in
• 9:08
Speaker 3: US semiconductor manufacturing and additional manufacturing expansion in Texas, presenting
• 9:14
Speaker 3: them as evidence that industrial investment continues flowing into the US.
• 9:19
Speaker 3: The White House once again is also urging Congress this
• 9:23
Speaker 3: week to advance additional legislation on defense funding as well
• 9:27
Speaker 3: as election security out of the midterms, making those priorities
• 9:31
Speaker 3: a centerpiece of its domestic agenda. Now, why is the
• 9:35
Speaker 3: White House talking about all of this right now? They're
• 9:37
Speaker 3: proving that the President is not just focused on Iran.
• 9:41
Speaker 3: That you can do multiple things at once, And the
• 9:44
Speaker 3: biggest question today is whether a RAN chooses further escalation
• 9:48
Speaker 3: or if they actually want to get a deal done.
• 9:51
Speaker 3: The President saying this from Air Force one hours after
• 9:55
Speaker 3: he had his big meetings at NATO.
• 9:58
Speaker 4: We hit Backbuche on trying.
• 10:00
Speaker 6: To full sale military conflicts.
• 10:03
Speaker 8: I don't know would win it very quickly is another
• 10:05
Speaker 8: way of doing We have any ways we can win,
• 10:08
Speaker 8: but we've already won militarily.
• 10:09
Speaker 4: They have very little, They have very little.
• 10:12
Speaker 8: Left, and they want to make a deal so badly.
• 10:14
Speaker 8: They called a little while ago. They want to make
• 10:17
  Speaker 8: a deal so badly. I just don't know if they're
• 10:19
Speaker 8: worthy of making the deal. I don't know that they're
• 10:21
Speaker 8: going to honor the deal.
• 10:22
  Speaker 2: That's wrong.
• 10:23
Speaker 4: If they want to make a deal, why do you
• 10:24
Speaker 4: think they attacked commercial lessons, Because.
• 10:30
Speaker 8: It's not crazy, to be honest with you, it's so crazy.
• 10:34
Speaker 8: They're a little bit out of good Trump, but they
• 10:36
Speaker 8: want to make a deal badly.
• 10:41
Speaker 3: The President I said to America, saying that on his
• 10:44
Speaker 3: way home on Air Force One. And here's what the
• 10:47
Speaker 3: big takeaway is. The United States is demonstrating that not
• 10:50
Speaker 3: only is a Trump administration willing to respond militarily after
• 10:54
Speaker 3: attacks on international shipping, President Trump has also warned that
• 10:58
Speaker 3: these additional strikes will remain on the table, emphasizing that
• 11:02
Speaker 3: the objective is to eliminate a rand's ability to threaten
• 11:04
Speaker 3: maritime commerce and prevent the region from advancing towards a
• 11:08
Speaker 3: nuclear weapon. Now, the coming hours and days, well that's
• 11:12
Speaker 3: going to determine whether Ranback's down or whether this confrontation
• 11:16
Speaker 3: enters another phase. The one thing that is certain this morning,
• 11:20
Speaker 3: the ceasefire that many hoped would stabilize the region appears
• 11:24
Speaker 3: to have collapsed, and the United States has made it
• 11:26
Speaker 3: clear it intends to respond with overwhelming force if American
• 11:32
Speaker 3: interests or international shipping are attacked.
• 11:34
  Speaker 4: Again.
