- 1:49bottom of all these shows.
- 1:50So Hannah, tonight, I wanted to lead you in on this.
- 1:55We have a guest on our show via telephone,
- 1:58a personal friend of mine, and I wanted her on because even before I met her,
- 2:07I had a close friend and he used
- 2:10to tell me about her house and
- 2:14okay the stories i heard about the
- 2:18hauntings you know as as a kid back in
- 2:21high school i was like there's just no way these stories are outrageous
- 2:24and i know my buddy chris used to
- 2:27tell many tall tales he was a
- 2:30salesman so i can never really believe
- 2:34everything he was saying mm-hmm but I'm
- 2:37also met you know our guest who's gonna be introduced shortly I met her brother
- 2:42too and he started confirming a lot of this you're like oh shit so I'm like
- 2:46maybe there's some true yeah you know but everybody makes up stories and at
- 2:51that age there's wild imaginations however all of this was actually true and.
- 2:58Our guest lived and grew up in this haunted house.
- 3:01And the stories are amazing. And I am going to sit to at some point tonight
- 3:07and share a story along with our guest of something we did.
- 3:11And I really feel this is the perfect wrap up for the end of our paranormal February.
- 3:17It's going to be a lot of excitement. You get to hear firsthand some of the
- 3:21stories that you probably have not heard to.
- 3:24So, yeah, this goes back to my high school days. and I
- 3:27also want to mention that our guest is in the
- 3:30process well she's doing a blog page that actually explains
- 3:33a lot of this wonderful blog yeah and you get to read
- 3:36these stories she breaks them down into little episodes and it's amazing she's
- 3:40a wonderful writer you know and I don't say that just because she's a friend
- 3:44she really is because you know me I love writing yeah she does a wonderful blog
- 3:48and I'm going to be giving that information out too and hopefully Hopefully
- 3:51she's going to work on this. It's going to become a book.
- 3:55I hope it does, because this is a book I'd have all over the house.
- 3:59Of course, it'll be a signed copy, and I want the first one,
- 4:01but I definitely want this.
- 4:04So anyway, I want to introduce to you our guest tonight, Anne Lund.
- 4:11Anne, how are you doing?
- 4:13I am fine, and I'm so happy to see both of you. I'm healthy and happy,
- 4:18and I'm happy to be here. That's great. And I'm so glad to see you.
- 4:22This always to me is great when I, you know, like I said, you're a personal
- 4:27friend of mine from way back in the day.
- 4:28It's, it's so nice that we get to keep up, you know, after all this time.
- 4:33And it's just amazing. Even after all this time, the memories that we shared
- 4:38a great deal of them evolve around that house that you were in,
- 4:43where you grew up back in the Bronx, you know, the Bronx.
- 4:48Yeah. And people have all these images of the Bronx, and unless you live there, you have no idea.
- 4:53But when we talk, like, the Bronx has hauntings. When you say Bronx, I'm like hot dog cart.
- 4:59Immediately, immediately hot dog cart. Yeah.
- 5:02And I have not yet heard of a haunted hot dog cart yet, but maybe.
- 5:07I'm going to Google that later. Yeah.
- 5:10So, Anne, welcome to the show. And I want you to tell us a little bit about
- 5:15your blog. Just give us a little background where we find this blog and your
- 5:19Facebook pages, because I want people to follow you.
- 5:22Oh, sure. So anyway, the blog is something I kind of do like in the past when I have past extra time.
- 5:29It's called basically hauntedandwaiting.blog, simple address.
- 5:34And in that blog, I have little stories and they're true stories.
- 5:38So nothing, none of this is fabricated. I'm not even exaggerating.
- 5:43The hauntings that I have experienced, most of which were from my house.
- 5:47And that section is called My Bronx Haunting.
- 5:50So even I think if you search either hauntedandwaiting.blog or My Bronx Haunting, you'll get that.
- 5:57And The Bronx Haunting basically is going to give little chapters about My Bronx Haunting.
- 6:02So with Gary, actually, now that you reminded me of that one scenario,
- 6:07I should actually put a chapter in there about that.
- 6:09Because as I was telling Gary, I remember but for some reason i replaced him
- 6:13with another friend but it's okay i'm replaceable not my heart.
- 6:21Yeah well if we like i said even before i met you and your brother i i had a
- 6:29good friend that was a mutual friend chris and he used to tell me these stories
- 6:34and i never believed him and And I never really went over to house,
- 6:38but I mean, this is a little too soon.
- 6:41So I still want to interview you before we get into the story.
- 6:44Because of course, the first time I go to your house is probably the last time
- 6:48I went there. I was going to say, I feel like you've only been once.
- 6:50That's common, by the way.
- 6:51That happens a lot. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 6:53And it was, listen, it was a nice little place. You know, this is the Bronx. It was nice.
- 6:58You have a fantastic family and all. I felt welcome.
- 7:01But as I left, I didn't feel welcome back there. And it had nothing to do with
- 7:05horror or family. The spirits were like, do not come back.
- 7:08Yeah. I mean, but there's a reason behind that and we'll get into that story.
- 7:13But before that, you grew up there and my story is just my experience,
- 7:19but obviously you have so much more to that.
- 7:21And, you know, when did it first start for you? Like, was it as soon as you moved in there?
- 7:26So, yeah. So I would say it's kind of fuzzy.
- 7:29I would say it started, I moved in when I was about seven or eight and I think
- 7:35the full full-fledged conquering, which you would call it, probably happened
- 7:38when I was about nine or 10.
- 7:41Yeah. And it happened after we knocked down a wall in the basement.
- 7:46And that's when it started. And I get into that in my blog.
- 7:49So, you know, you see these things sometimes on TV shows where they say,
- 7:53you know, everything was fine until we brought in this piece of jewelry or we,
- 7:56you know, found this shoe in the backyard.
- 7:59And actually, I have to say, in all my experiences, that's been 100% true.
- 8:03It's almost like they're at bay until you break into their realm.
- 8:07And I think that's what happened.
- 8:08We had a wall in the basement. We knocked it down, my friends and I.
- 8:12And then it was like we unleashed whatever it was. And so around nine years
- 8:18old, I would say nine or 10.
- 8:21Now, there's so many different hauntings, different types of hauntings,
- 8:25residual hauntings and all.
- 8:27What you've experienced, I mean, you felt and seen physical presences. Is that correct?
- 8:35Yes. and also these presences
- 8:38as well i mean they were able to manipulate objects
- 8:42as well yes okay so
- 8:45yeah you've had like probably the real high level hauntings where you know it's
- 8:51not just yeah it's not just like evps or anything but you've looked and have
- 8:56you actually experienced as well like like the physical touch of things like
- 9:01where you've been touched or felt somebody actually touching you?
- 9:06Yes, but just one time. And that happened shortly after the wall.
- 9:11So yeah, and I wrote about it in my blog. It was one of the most frightening
- 9:16things to know that you're awake, even though people will tell you you're dreaming or you must have.
- 9:22I know I was awake. You know when you're awake. Yeah, you definitely know when you're awake.
- 9:27Yeah. And so it was one night I was in my bedroom.
- 9:30And for whatever reason, the sheet was falling off off of me.
- 9:34It felt like it was just falling off the side of the bed and I just kept tugging
- 9:38it to pull it back over me.
- 9:39And then at that moment, I was half asleep, half awake. I could admit that,
- 9:42but then I got annoyed and I was fully up because I was like,
- 9:45okay, whatever's happening here.
- 9:46So I tugged at it and then it tugged really fast and it just fell,
- 9:52but it felt like somebody pulled it.
- 9:53And then I felt a hand literally come over my head and onto my face,
- 9:58not grab me really tight, not in a scary
- 10:01way other than that it shouldn't have been there if that makes sense it
- 10:04was definitely a band i screamed like
- 10:08terrified i ran into my mother's room she
- 10:12was down a fall and then around the corner and i
- 10:14told her what you know it's like i need and she was just didn't want to hear
- 10:18it get back to your room and i don't know if you remember my mom when my mom
- 10:22was a she was you know not warm and fuzzy type right so when she said no it
- 10:27was no and i had to go back into my room and it was the most horrifying night,
- 10:32I think to this day that I've ever had.
- 10:34Wow. You're like, I did not sleep another peep.
- 10:37Yeah, it was horrible. Like, and it was just that one time it's never happened
- 10:41to me again. And I'm in my fifties. So never anything close to that.
- 10:45But that was, I would say like one of the starts of it. Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:49And I know you've probably done your research on that home.
- 10:54And I don't want you to like reveal too much because I want people to tune in
- 10:58and, you know, read your blogs and, you know, hopefully a book gets published. I hope it does.
- 11:03And I know, I know in my heart, you can do it, but did you find anything out
- 11:08a background wise in that home?
- 11:11You know, it sounds weird, but when I finally got married and I moved out,
- 11:17this was before the era where you could just get online and look things up.
- 11:21So to be honest with you, I never did research the house. I should.
- 11:25But the story that I came up with in my head was just from what I knew from
- 11:30the neighbors that knew the gentleman that lived in my house before I did and some of his stories.
- 11:36And his wife did go missing, that I know.
- 11:40And so I shouldn't use the word missing. The stories of why she wasn't there
- 11:44were different depending on who you spoke to on the street.
- 11:47Right. So interesting. And that's, you know, when we talk about that,
- 11:53too, it's just I know we always mention about the Bronx.
- 11:57It's unless you actually grew up there because a lot of people think it's cold
- 12:02hearted and nobody talks.
- 12:03But then, especially in those neighborhoods, like you grew up in the Italian
- 12:09neighborhoods and all very close knit.
- 12:12And a lot of people were very close.
- 12:15They knew everybody. body and they took so yeah if people from the outside don't
- 12:19really realize that or understand that and then when you throw in the history
- 12:24of new york the bronx i mean there's more.
- 12:28There than probably anywhere else you know as far as the way it was built in
- 12:33the people's backs it was built on and all which before we even go into your
- 12:40haunting you also do you do a lot of of exploring as well.
- 12:45And a lot of your writing and all too, and outdoors, my favorite,
- 12:50of course, you know, being outdoors,
- 12:52you know, there's a lot of paranormal activity outside of the four walls out
- 12:56in, you know, the real world or out in the forest or wherever you may be.
- 13:01And I'm sure you've got tons of stories about that as well.
- 13:05Yeah. And I think that's what's actually sparking the book that I'm writing
- 13:09is more about things that I've seen when I've hiked as opposed to things that
- 13:14happened to me in the house.
- 13:16The house was the interest in this area, right?
- 13:20But for people that live, especially in this part of the country,
- 13:23in the Northeast, there's a lot of history.
- 13:26There's a lot. It could literally be right in the corner of your street and
- 13:29you wouldn't even know it.
- 13:30And so when I hike, Like I tend to, it's not really urban exploring because
- 13:34urban exploring is more like in the city, but it's kind of like urban exploring for the woods.
- 13:39So I love to find like the footprint of what used to be like a house,
- 13:44you know, in the middle of the woods.
- 13:46I find cemeteries that are, it's just the weirdest thing. They're just there, forgotten.
- 13:51And there's a ton in where we live going back to pre-civil war.
- 13:55So we have a lot of history here. And if you think about it,
- 13:59a lot of people died, probably been buried in the woods. We don't even know it.
- 14:03Maybe died in a nefarious way. Right. Right. And you got perfect makings for
- 14:09a totally haunted area of the country.
- 14:11Right. Yes. So. And as you know, too, because I share that same,
- 14:17you know, enjoyment of exploration.
- 14:21And I've done the same thing. Like I came across cities like abandoned cities.
- 14:25No one would know they're just hidden in plain sight and even though it's just
- 14:31material stuff that's left over when you look at the big picture those were
- 14:36families they owned the homes there they owned everything and it's,
- 14:41it's still there but you still feel that
- 14:44presence of that you know it's almost like
- 14:47you're trespassing on their property as if
- 14:50they were still alive even though this these places were 50 60 years or more
- 14:54older so i get it and i probably had like a couple of paranormal experiences
- 15:00myself when it came to the woods
- 15:02like as far as cryptids i've i definitely know i've I've heard, felt,
- 15:08smelled a presence, but never seen it.
- 15:12But yeah, I know something was there. And I know I've used this before,
- 15:16just beginning of this month and all cryptids and all.
- 15:19There are some spectrums of light as well as some sounds that humans are just
- 15:24unaware of. We just don't have the ability to see or hear as where some animals do.
- 15:30So just how much are we missing that's probably right in front of our eyes?
- 15:36Exactly. So not only just cryptids outdoors, but ghosts themselves,
- 15:41spirits or whatever you may call them.
- 15:44It's the same thing. They are on a different wavelength than what we can either
- 15:48see or hear, but they might have the ability to cross over every now and then.
- 15:54And you experienced it. I know I've experienced it. hannah
- 15:57here's the only one who probably has not experienced anything really too
- 16:01ghost wise i really have not experienced
- 16:04anything ghost wise other than
- 16:08like people that i've like known that
- 16:11like have passed away oh okay yeah i'm
- 16:14yeah unfortunately i don't know i and
- 16:17i'm really not a closed off for person i've like
- 16:21i when i go into like an antique store if i i'm
- 16:25walking and like if i'm walking by like an object that has bad
- 16:28energy or maybe like a bad spirit connected to
- 16:32it i just get this really eerie like go away
- 16:34vibe and then my son he we
- 16:38had taken him antiquing and he looked
- 16:42at me he said no no no when we went
- 16:45past this one like old doll but other than
- 16:49that like I've never had any type of experience and it's
- 16:52it's just I guess I'm just not one of the I guess
- 16:56I don't want to say lucky but I guess I'm not one of the lucky ones well I would
- 17:01think if you're feeling something when you're walking by something that you
- 17:05actually are experiencing a haunting yeah not in the way of seeing it maybe
- 17:11yes yeah I mean I'm hunting haunting. Yeah.
- 17:14Like I, and then like when you're like, when I say like, I've had experiences
- 17:18with like a loved one that's passed away, I don't really consider that like
- 17:21a haunting, you know, I feel like that's like more of like a blessing for me.
- 17:24Like, yeah, you know what I mean? Like, I've liked, like when my best friend passed away, I like.
- 17:32I would always like when I would talk about him or just like kind of like get
- 17:36like the vibe that he was just hanging around, lingering around.
- 17:39I would always get this like really like warm or cold touch and like the hair
- 17:44raising on the back of my neck.
- 17:45And like I'd be like, oh, it's such a blessing because like I knew he was like
- 17:48hanging around like he knew I was talking about him.
- 17:51So I'm like, I consider that a ghost, though. Yeah, but like,
- 17:54I guess I wouldn't. You know what I mean?
- 17:56Like, I don't know. I guess I didn't see.
- 18:04It's like I said, I wouldn't really consider it like a – I mean,
- 18:07I guess it's a paranormal experience for me, but I wouldn't consider it like
- 18:11a haunting because it was more of like a blessing to me.
- 18:13Like, oh, like his spirit.
- 18:17I don't know. So I'm going to take that a bit further. And I think I would agree
- 18:21with you because when you think of a haunting, you think of the trying to communicate
- 18:25in a scary way or a negative way.
- 18:27But I think a ghost is a ghost and I think a spirit is a ghost and I'm going to differ with you.
- 18:33And I think that when you felt your friends, wherever he is,
- 18:36where he's still around, okay, he's just not in our realm. Yeah.
- 18:40When you're sensing him, I honestly think he's there. And I think he's a ghost
- 18:44and he's letting himself known to you in that way.
- 18:48I have spoken actually like
- 18:51when another podcast we were on I saw him
- 18:55once I but it was not when
- 18:58I was like conscious I was
- 19:01I had an emergency c-section with my son and I
- 19:04was on the table in and out of consciousness I could
- 19:07not open my eyes but like what made me
- 19:10come like out of like being unconscious because
- 19:13I thought I didn't make it like I just thought I was dead I was going to heaven
- 19:15like I was seeing the light I actually saw
- 19:18him so that's the only time I saw him but my
- 19:21husband was like you were knocked out so I
- 19:24don't everyone like you I had
- 19:27mentioned it earlier like oh like I don't know this might have been before the
- 19:31podcast started so my bad everyone but like how like people are like oh you're
- 19:36exaggerating or something like that you're not making it up it's just like I
- 19:40had someone say like oh your brain was just telling you like what you wanted
- 19:44to hear. I was like, no, this just happened to me.
- 19:47Well, you know, you know. Yeah. And I think it's upsetting, you know, like,
- 19:52that people will say something like that yeah you know what you should just
- 19:55keep their mouth shut because when
- 19:56you know you know so that sounds very similar to like an nde to me okay.
- 20:01Not that you were but that's what that sounds like to
- 20:04me yeah okay yeah well
- 20:07it's nice to definitely get like a different set of like eyes and like
- 20:10opinion on it definitely yeah because i
- 20:13mean cool at least i don't feel like closed off now you know
- 20:16like these spirits don't want to to mess with me nope yeah you're
- 20:20right too maria and that's what i was going to lean to it's
- 20:23like i think it depends on your definition of a
- 20:26haunting you know it's yeah people relate
- 20:29haunting with the scary and all but any type of experience it's it's a paranormal
- 20:34experience it's just something that cannot be explained but you felt it you
- 20:39know it's real others may not think so but you have it and And like I always
- 20:45say, it's a story you're telling.
- 20:48You're telling the story straight from your heart.
- 20:51If you want to believe it, believe it. But if you don't, you don't.
- 20:54And yeah, I think you've had a paranormal experience and you've witnessed a ghost. Yeah.
- 21:02And I know Maria witnessed ghosts. I know I witnessed ghosts in the same place.
- 21:06And I really want to get into this now because, yeah, so Maria's right.
- 21:10Basically because of her exploration and all this outdoors and all the history
- 21:15and history especially brings a lot of this paranormal activity just because
- 21:20of, you know, the events that took place, but.
- 21:24When you grow up in this house so i really feel we need to talk about this story
- 21:29you and i and i think hannah could jump in and you know ask us questions as
- 21:34we try to remember because we're old let's not,
- 21:38forget you and i when we first met we were back in high school yeah like 40
- 21:42years ago yeah yeah so our memories are not always as sharp as they were so
- 21:48it's only certain details i think you You guys both have better memory than me, to be honest.
- 21:53I don't know about that. I don't know about that. Yeah.
- 21:56But what's amazing, what we do remember is because this was an actual experience.
- 22:01And to me, at that time, this is probably what led me to believe.
- 22:06Because back then, I was big, really big into the UFOs.
- 22:10So I believed UFOs a lot. But ghosts were just another level.
- 22:15And I don't think I really believed until I was in your house.
- 22:21And so, so let's take, let's take this back. All right. It was myself.
- 22:27You were there. Chris was there. And if I'm not mistaken, your brother was there.
- 22:33And then, then there was probably one other person.
- 22:36I can't remember whom, but so I would say that's, that was the gist of it.
- 22:41Now I know your mom was home and this took place in the basement.
- 22:48All of us dummies decided to play with a Ouija board in this house after hearing
- 22:54the stories and listen if you brought the Ouija board that's a good question
- 22:58I don't know Maria did you do you,
- 23:01So what happened was, and I have to preface this for my sister-in-law,
- 23:05who was Irish from the boat, off the boat, terrified of Ouija boards,
- 23:10believed in ghosts, banshees, the whole thing, right?
- 23:12And we had to hide the Ouija board from her because she swore if we ever brought
- 23:17one in the house, she was going to lick us.
- 23:19She was a lot older than me. She was about 15 years older than me.
- 23:22So I don't even know where it came from. I think one of my friends brought it
- 23:25over and we had it hidden in the basement from my sister-in-law because we were definitely afraid.
- 23:31This was like macabre. We're not allowed to do this. You know,
- 23:34she was warning us. We had it hidden in the basement. I don't remember who.
- 23:39And we also had a blackboard. Do you remember the it was a blackboard down there?
- 23:43Yes. So which things you said we would find writing on the blackboard. Stop. I'm done.
- 23:50I don't want to ever be in that basement.
- 23:54The basement's been fixed by the way so it's finished it's a finished basement
- 23:57now it has a bathroom it doesn't look like that anymore wow really yeah it was
- 24:01fixed like like two years ago yeah but anyway so we pulled it out i do remember
- 24:05that but we used to pull it out several times when we knew we wouldn't get caught
- 24:09using it right so and the basement was unfinished,
- 24:15you know mortar walls the typical scary like you couldn't make it any scarier
- 24:19as if if i were going going to design it. My old house basement. Okay.
- 24:22It was just a creepy basement. Yeah. So I don't remember that.
- 24:25We used it a couple of times. So Gary, I think we pulled it out, right?
- 24:29And we started moving the planchette.
- 24:32Yep. Maybe trying to contact Elvis. I don't know what we were doing,
- 24:34but we were like, you know.
- 24:37And then Gary, you said you remember the-
- 24:40ruler yeah well i i would
- 24:43really like to get into because this is my memories we were
- 24:46asking the board all so all the you know typical questions you know is there
- 24:51another presence here and all blah blah blah we would hear things and all but
- 24:55we're with our goofy friends in a goofy time and age so we're all thinking it's
- 24:59them and of course a couple pranks just we did catch people throwing something,
- 25:04you know, but nothing was really happening paranormal, but we did,
- 25:09which was the worst thing you can do is we got very angry and we started demanding
- 25:14that it's something. Yeah.
- 25:19So that's what started a lot of it.
- 25:22So the sounds got worse that were unexplainable, but we, you know,
- 25:28again, it was just sounds at that point until the ruler incident.
- 25:34Yeah, I distinctively remember hearing something hit the floor.
- 25:39And so if you would think a wooden ruler on a concrete floor is exactly what it sounded like.
- 25:44And I'm pretty sure I'm almost 100% sure it was your brother that turned around and picked up the ruler.
- 25:52And he turned and now your brother's pretty pale and complexion as is.
- 25:56So he went much more, you know, like probably four more shades of white.
- 26:00He ran upstairs yeah yeah
- 26:04it turns out at least a story i
- 26:07heard and now again this is your mom and again
- 26:10not a woman you would be you know messing with joking with or anything like
- 26:14that apparently she became freaked out because she was upstairs doing something
- 26:20like knitting or some sort of sewing and she said she was looking for the ruler
- 26:24because she placed it on the floor Right. That, that I could, yeah.
- 26:28Yeah. That's the kind, that's the kind of stuff that would happen.
- 26:31So it would be almost like poltergeist activity.
- 26:34Cause that's more like, I don't necessarily do, but I don't remember that.
- 26:38I do remember the ruler flying across. I do remember my brother running upstairs.
- 26:42And what freaked me out about that was my brother was always on the, I have two brothers.
- 26:49My younger brother was always on the fence.
- 26:51Is this really happening or is this not happening? Is this really happening
- 26:54or is this not happening? So he was not a hundred percent a believer.
- 26:58So when something happened that he could not explain, and I write about that
- 27:02and those were moments where he would be freaked out, that would freak me out
- 27:05more because I believed in everything, right?
- 27:08So I'm not the best character of judgment for, for that house.
- 27:11I believed in everything.
- 27:12Even when there was an explanation, I always went towards more paranormal.
- 27:16So when he believed something, it was almost a solidified belief.
- 27:21It for me if that makes sense yeah definitely because
- 27:24you're getting more of a confirmation from somebody who was on
- 27:27the fence about it yeah and i do remember from being scared
- 27:30and i do remember the hole on the ouija board afterwards the
- 27:33burn yes yeah that i remember and yeah hannah this and i'm so glad you mentioned
- 27:39that and that you remember that it because you sometimes you do you have these
- 27:45memories and you're thinking well was this just my imagination after all these
- 27:48years And maybe in my head, I bought,
- 27:50you remember it now, Hannah,
- 27:53I'm going to tell you this and we'll share the story together with Ann.
- 27:58We were getting angry. Now you had mentioned you guys tore down that wall and,
- 28:03and, and if you, there was a hole in there, right? Like kind of like a tunnel almost.
- 28:09Yeah. Like a, like a middle. Yeah. So we found out later on that it was most
- 28:13likely a coal shutout, most likely, but it doesn't lead to anything.
- 28:18Thing so that's why i don't understand how that could have been a coal shaft right
- 28:21because it goes under the house it doesn't go
- 28:24like up to the street or it doesn't go anywhere and it
- 28:27was just a tunnel i want to say maybe like four
- 28:29feet it wasn't even a tunnel it's like a four foot it was
- 28:33the weird we don't even know what was but there was boxes in there there
- 28:36was it was a small room uh before
- 28:40so think of a room with a tunnel toward in
- 28:43the back that's what it was and there was wooden panels covering
- 28:46that portion of the basement and my neighbor
- 28:50do you remember i can't say her name because her name was really
- 28:52odd but i had a neighbor you probably remember her
- 28:55from school but i can't use her name because her name was really it would stand
- 28:59out and this is kind of like i don't want her to go into this but anyway the
- 29:04houses were railroad flats so they're all identical every house was identical
- 29:09to the house before and i was in her her basement and I was like at the back and I'm like,
- 29:14why is your basement like longer than mine?
- 29:16She's like, I don't know. And then my other neighbor, we were in her basement
- 29:20and I was like, yeah, why is your basement like, why was my basement shorter than their basements?
- 29:25And it was this neighbor when we were about 10, we went into my basement where
- 29:29her wall would continue to go.
- 29:32And there were, there was a paneled wall. So it was just wooden slats like that.
- 29:39And she put her hands in and she's like, oh, look, it just comes up and there's
- 29:42a room in there. And so that's what happened.
- 29:45And they took it down. My family took it down.
- 29:48And there was like just a space there and there were boxes. And the gentleman
- 29:51that had, it was an older man who had lived there.
- 29:54He was in his 90s when we took the house from him. He was going to a home apparently.
- 29:58And there were boxes in there.
- 30:00Pictures from the Holocaust, believe it or not. Pictures of his family.
- 30:03He was either a Hasidic Jew or Orthodox Jew. So a lot of pictures of like Jewish
- 30:08people and like that religious wear very old, like old pictures.
- 30:12There was a couple of cases. It was just very bizarre, but nothing.
- 30:16It was just junk. It wasn't like a body back there. It was just junk.
- 30:20But it was right after that, then things started happening.
- 30:24Happening and it was it was it
- 30:26was not a week that went by where something didn't
- 30:30scare the bejesus out of you so it was
- 30:34it was tough it was tough on the kids yeah yeah
- 30:37and everybody knew it so right and
- 30:42that's yeah and that's the amazing thing like when you're
- 30:45describing that room because i remember and there's a picture of
- 30:48the basement on your blog so you'll understand
- 30:52what we're talking about so what you're looking at on in that
- 30:54picture is the basement itself and then we played with the ouija
- 30:57board right there yeah and then in the left
- 31:01hand side of that picture there's in separate room and
- 31:04that's where this tunnel was and that had a door on
- 31:07it did it not yes it did okay perfect because
- 31:10that's the setup for this because this was when you
- 31:13turn talked about that hole being burned and again all
- 31:17these years i was like even i doubted myself
- 31:20with that because not only with the ruler which was paranormal enough but we
- 31:29gotten very angry at the board and we kept doing it over and over again show
- 31:33us up yeah we all got up because we heard something in that room.
- 31:39I don't know, Anne, I don't know if you were in the room with us when we all,
- 31:45because we heard something in there, we all got up and we went inside the room,
- 31:49the door closed behind us. Well, that happened all the time.
- 31:55That happened all the time.
- 31:58It was just all the time. And, you know, it's funny because when I got on Facebook,
- 32:04somebody had said something about my house.
- 32:06And then all these people that knew me when I was a kid, I remember her house. Remember?
- 32:10Like, it was like just this thing of all life.
- 32:13They were all in their 40s and 50s now. But, like, everybody was,
- 32:15remember when this happened? And I was like, oh, my gosh. Like,
- 32:18I lived in the haunted house on the street.
- 32:20It never occurred to me until now.
- 32:23How crazy it actually was and how it affected a lot of kids.
- 32:26I had kids that wouldn't come into the house.
- 32:29But Terrence is an example, terrified. By the way, he was a cop. He became a sergeant.
- 32:35No kidding. Terrified. He would not come into my house unless there was a lot of people in there.
- 32:41It was very bizarre because, do you know radiator covers?
- 32:45The old-fashioned, if you have the steam radiator.
- 32:49I had that at my old house, yeah. Okay. Okay, so you know how like you keep
- 32:52a wooden cover on so you don't actually get burned? Yeah.
- 32:55For some reason, Terrence, whenever he went into my house and it only happened
- 33:01with him, no one else, the radiator covers would shake violently.
- 33:07Like violently. He would be in the house for five, not even, no, two minutes.
- 33:12And they would start doing that. And he would dart out. He would dart and it only happened to him.
- 33:17And then, you know, like my older brother, I would say, well,
- 33:19why is that happening? Oh, well, you know, remember where the train was,
- 33:22Gary, like two streets from it's like all the vibration from the train is really
- 33:26the vibration from the train is making the radiator covers in several rooms.
- 33:32Bang. And just when this kid comes in. Yeah, no, I, my house,
- 33:37I lived even closer to the trains and those trains came by every and nothing shook.
- 33:43So that's, you paint a different picture because telling the stories I was in there once.
- 33:49Once you grew up there, I can't imagine being in there now knowing,
- 33:55you know, because, again, I'm sharing this story with you and you're confirming
- 33:59things that even I couldn't fathom.
- 34:02So that door closed behind us and I thought somebody was messing around,
- 34:06but I was the last one in and I felt that door close.
- 34:08I remember and this is just me in
- 34:12that hole that tunnel whatever you want to call
- 34:15it I remember seeing a light almost like a candle but it wasn't yeah I seen
- 34:23it so that panic so we all ran out and when we ran out Hannah this is the worst
- 34:29I was the first one to come across it and it freaked me out,
- 34:33the ouija board was leaning up against a
- 34:36cardboard box okay and as i said okay well no big deal we all jumped up and
- 34:42somebody might have kicked it so when i picked it up there was a hole like a
- 34:47pin hole yeah like a burn like almost like a small cigarette hole right yep
- 34:52right through dead center.
- 34:55And even more confirmation to that cardboard box was leaning up had a burn hole
- 35:00behind it yeah yeah And that was it.
- 35:03Nobody, nobody was in the room because we were all in the room with the door shut behind us.
- 35:07So nobody, and to be that precise, no one could stand there and light something
- 35:12and burn it back quickly.
- 35:14I mean, I guess it's possible, but there was nobody in there. No way. And that was it.
- 35:18I ran out. That was the last time I was ever in your place.
- 35:24And all these years, I just thought it was my imagination.
- 35:28But now when I talk to you and you can confirm this, I say, that's crazy.
- 35:33And that was just me for whatever amount of hours we were in there.
- 35:36You grew up there. You live there. Yeah.
- 35:40I got to see if I can find those Facebook. Claude, do you remember Claude?
- 35:44Yes. Yes, I do. He put something there. Then there was John.
- 35:49We had another friend, John, who lived on the next street over.
- 35:52He put something, all these experiences people had had.
- 35:55And it was like, oh my gosh, this is like pretty pathetic. This is where I lived.
- 36:02Yeah, it was on. It was on. But you know what, Gary? This is what I never understood.
- 36:09When my sister-in-law and my brother lived in the apartment upstairs,
- 36:13and they were there for about six years, when they moved, everything stopped. Yes.
- 36:21Wow and i have no idea why like
- 36:25everything stopped it was quiet and my sister-in-law she
- 36:28was a big believer that there was something in that house she was positive about
- 36:31it but once she left everything stopped and my mom still owns that house so
- 36:36we're talking more than 30 years nothing so did your sister-in-law always live
- 36:42there like from when it started yes so maybe Maybe she brought it.
- 36:48Right. That's been one of the things that I've wondered about.
- 36:51And my suspicion about the house being this older gentleman that owned the house
- 36:57whose wife went missing and was having an affair with the neighbor, the man.
- 37:01There was like a story there that I was hearing from all these people in the
- 37:04neighborhood as kids were trying to figure out, oh, he must have killed his
- 37:08wife. She's in the basement. She's probably in that room.
- 37:10We never found anything like that.
- 37:13I was convinced that this had something to do with that, right? This is her.
- 37:18Because I don't know if you read the story, Gary, about the perfume bottles. Yes, I did.
- 37:22Okay. So the perfume bottles were hers. Yeah.
- 37:25And she wanted us to know with these perfume bottles. I don't want to say if
- 37:28anybody wants to read it, go to my blog. Okay.
- 37:32Hauntedandwaiting.blog. But the perfume bottles to me were kind of like,
- 37:36okay, this has got to be her.
- 37:38She's letting us know. No, but when I saw, you had asked me if I'd ever seen anything.
- 37:43Oh, no, you asked me if I'd ever felt anything to that one time.
- 37:46If I had ever seen anything, the first time that I actually saw an apparition
- 37:50and that house, only one time in that house.
- 37:53I've seen since, but in that house one time, and it was shortly after the wall
- 37:56came down, and I saw a man in the middle of the night.
- 38:01I heard, I didn't hear, but I kind of sensed somebody was in the other room.
- 38:04It was the middle of the night. I got up to pee.
- 38:06And the way it was was my room is in the corner there was
- 38:09this little hallway where the bathroom was off the hallway and then the
- 38:12dining room slash living room was after the
- 38:14hall and so when I went to the bathroom I kind of took a peek
- 38:17into the into the other room because I was like it just feels
- 38:20like somebody's there and I was thinking I was going to find my mother like
- 38:24looking for glasses or something in the middle of the night or doing something
- 38:28and this mother effing guy was was standing in that room and he was on the other
- 38:34side of the room staring at me and he looked at,
- 38:39Just like, not just like you, but 3D. He did not look. He wasn't see-through.
- 38:44He had a normal face. He was up floating.
- 38:48He looked three-dimensional and he was just staring at me.
- 38:52And he looked just shocked to see me as I was to see him.
- 38:57We were like just shocked looking at each other.
- 39:00Weirdest freaking thing. Did you like turn away and then he was gone or you
- 39:04just were like? Like, so I was just kind of staring at him, not knowing what was going on.
- 39:11And then part of me was like, maybe I should go see my mom.
- 39:14But then I knew my mom was going to get mad at me because here we are talking
- 39:18about ghosts and whatever for, so like, she's going to beat that enough for
- 39:21nothing. But this was the day where you could hit your kid.
- 39:22And everybody was getting hit, like, you know, whatever in the Bronx.
- 39:30So like, everybody was getting hit. it, I was sure I was going to get a beating
- 39:32of my life, which back in the day was how it was done. Not that I was abused by any means.
- 39:39So I went back to my room and I closed the door. I did have a lock.
- 39:42So I locked it and I just kind of laid in the bed terrified because I couldn't
- 39:49understand what's going on.
- 39:50I said to myself, this isn't a ghost because he's 3D.
- 39:52So then I'm thinking maybe this is someone my mother knows.
- 39:56I'm thinking it's a person. Some part of me was was thinking maybe somebody broke into the house.
- 40:01So I remember thinking that like, maybe somebody broke into my house.
- 40:04Maybe if I'm quiet, he'll take what he needs to take and leave.
- 40:07But then in the morning, you know, I went and I had told my mother and sure
- 40:11enough, it was pissed as hell that I had said it.
- 40:15She was like, plus I had said it when we had company there.
- 40:18And then it made it seem like, you know, my mom had a gentleman call her in
- 40:22the middle of the night because my father had passed away.
- 40:25And so she was furious with me, but that was it.
- 40:28Yeah. All I could tell you, Hannah, is that we were staring at each other and his look was like,
- 40:35what the hell is she doing here? And my look was like, what the hell is he?
- 40:38It was like a just mutual confusion is what it was.
- 40:42Stop seeing that. And then if I was you, I'd be like checking the calendar.
- 40:45I'm like, is this Santa like Easter bunny? Like who are you?
- 40:49No, no. I wonder.
- 40:53Yeah. Cause I was going to say like, you had that, like, you know,
- 40:57you were under the assumption, like maybe it's the woman, you know,
- 40:59maybe he murdered his wife, you know, but then your your sister-in-law come,
- 41:04you know, it, everything stopped.
- 41:05And I'm like, well, what if it's like one of her like ancestors?
- 41:08Cause I know you said she was Irish, right? Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:14So I'm like, what if it was like someone that like just latched onto her or
- 41:18like something or like her luggage or something, and then just made your house
- 41:23it's home, you know, cause I've heard of stories like that. I've read of stories like that.
- 41:28That's why you're like, her house, the
- 41:31house that they moved moved to was haunted see this
- 41:35is what i'm saying like because that's why you're gonna be i'm
- 41:38gonna share it with you i have a picture where she's a woman
- 41:41is in the window if i share this picture with you're gonna be
- 41:44freaked out it's not even a pareidolia she's so clearly
- 41:47in the window yeah but that was
- 41:50her house and that happened i want to
- 41:53say maybe four years after she had moved out of our house so i don't know i
- 41:58couldn't tell you this this guy that i saw was not dressed he wasn't dressed
- 42:03like ancient so i wouldn't say it wasn't like the 1800s or anything like that
- 42:06but he didn't look like he was from the 80s or so right you know maybe the.
- 42:1350s i don't know like he just his clothes
- 42:16were wrong i guess you could say yeah you know what i
- 42:19like about that though is like the way you described it like you were
- 42:22both kind of perplexed like oh wow that's literally
- 42:26like just like he was almost shocked yeah
- 42:29that you could see him yeah it was like a glitch
- 42:32you know like oh wow you both broke a time barrier
- 42:36and you were both sitting in that same time together that yeah i find that more
- 42:42fascinating sometimes i pick out little things like that that make it fascinating
- 42:47beyond being just frightened because it is i mean most people are going to be
- 42:52frightened at that but i'll be like it's it was a breakdown in time,
- 42:56that you you both existed yeah it was very weird and it's like again was it
- 43:01a haunting i mean he wasn't scaring me other than you know yeah i love it in
- 43:08blood or you know yeah fire.
- 43:13Yeah, I love the stories. I love the story. And listen to everybody listening to this.
- 43:19Ann Lund, I'm going to have all the links again in the synopsis.
- 43:24Follow her on Facebook, hauntedandwaiting.blog. She has a Haunted and Waiting
- 43:30Facebook group too. Oh, yeah, I do.
- 43:34Yeah, I want people. I post a lot of like the pictures when I go hiking,
- 43:38some of the weird things like the grave or that lean-to that I just found.
- 43:42I had a car in it. Yes, yes.
- 43:43It's just like, why would you put a car in a lean-to? It was so weird.
- 43:48It was just like in there.
- 43:51I am still jealous at all the fines you do when you go.
- 43:55I mean, I found some really wild stuff, but you found some amazing things.
- 43:59And I have to go on a hike with you one day. I have to.
- 44:03But I'm bringing a film crew with me for sure because I know I'm going to see good stuff.
- 44:08But, Anne, I want to thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 44:12So I want all of these stories to be read.
- 44:16I want you to write that book. I want a copy. I want you to be famous.
- 44:22I mean- He wants the first sign. Yes, I want the first signed copy. Of course I do.
- 44:27But honestly, you're a treasure to talk to because your experiences,
- 44:34the way you present them, it's fascinating to me.
- 44:37And I think you've got such a talent for all this. that's why I know I want
- 44:42you to write that book. I just know it. I feel that in my heart.
- 44:45I want you to, you know, write it, get your name out there for sure.
- 44:49And I'm going to make sure everybody follows and listens to this story because
- 44:53yeah, she's got it broken down.
- 44:55And we're not going to, yeah, I was going to say, we're not going to make her
- 44:57share all her paranormal stories on the pod.
- 45:01We're going to push you guys to go check out her blog and because she has amazing ones on there.
- 45:07She just gave you a little taste in this episode that's for
- 45:10sure but again and i thank you so much for
