- 0:12Speaker 1: See you coming like a.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Train in the distance, watching everything changeing in the instance.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Hey, I'm Peanut from three eleven. You know I made
- 0:25Speaker 3: how you're doing wonderful. It's a beautiful Dan in Los Angeles.
- 0:29Speaker 3: I can't wait to breathe the Australian air.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Oh, it won't be too long now while the brother.
- 0:34Speaker 5: But before we get to that, we've also got a
- 0:37Speaker 5: little matter of a new album from you guys to discuss,
- 0:39Speaker 5: because today you're releasing your fourteenth studio album, Full Bloom.
- 0:44Speaker 4: So the fun starts now, really, don't it?
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys get it first. I think that's why
- 0:49Speaker 3: we're talking.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Sweet. So do you still like since your fourteenth album?
- 0:55Speaker 4: BROTHERER do you still get.
- 0:56Speaker 5: Excited about the whole release cycle or is it a
- 1:00Speaker 5: big blass IV?
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, I get I don't get nervous about much.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You know, I've that that the fear has been scared
- 1:08Speaker 3: out of me. I guess, but releasing an album is
- 1:12Speaker 3: a tenuous, nerve wracking kind of anxious emotion. I'm happy
- 1:18Speaker 3: it's landing on your shores first. I uh, I think
- 1:23Speaker 3: the opinions starting from OZ will be will be favorable,
- 1:29Speaker 3: and I'm looking for building momentum on that. But yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 3: it's a it's kind of a scary thing to release
- 1:34Speaker 3: an album, you know, even if we've done it, you know,
- 1:37Speaker 3: fourteen times now.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Yeah, often so many albums for I've like, have you
- 1:41Speaker 5: got a set creating process that you guy through my
- 1:43Speaker 5: storms or is a different album album?
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think everyone's got their own method.
- 1:49Speaker 3: We come together when those reach whatever peak. Nick calls
- 1:54Speaker 3: me in for lyrics frequently, which is really fun, and
- 1:58Speaker 3: it's been something that I've really enjoyed in the band
- 2:01Speaker 3: over the last like fifteen years or so. And and yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 3: I think we're pretty fixed. We've all got home studios
- 2:10Speaker 3: and we work relatively well on our own. We have
- 2:15Speaker 3: demo itis sometimes where the demos can be better than
- 2:18Speaker 3: the finished result. But but but I think that's just
- 2:23Speaker 3: you know, my ears sometimes. But yeah, it's really fun
- 2:28Speaker 3: recording still. It's only easier of course now. But I
- 2:32Speaker 3: think now everyone's, like I said, kind of fixed in
- 2:35Speaker 3: their way, and we get together when the time's right.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Can we dive into full blame a bit deeper from
- 2:41Speaker 5: a musical point of view, like what we've gone for
- 2:43Speaker 5: this summer?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Und you know, I think we were trying to progress,
- 2:49Speaker 3: like always look forward to sounds that we've not used before.
- 2:59Speaker 3: You know, Uh, it's still the same vibe. We're always
- 3:03Speaker 3: going to be solving problems. We're always going to be
- 3:05Speaker 3: a little frustrated, but we're gonna come out of it,
- 3:08Speaker 3: you know, with our support system and our friends and like,
- 3:12Speaker 3: you know, like being outside and you know, uh, you know,
- 3:17Speaker 3: of course loved ones and family at this point, and
- 3:19Speaker 3: really travel is great therapy too. But it was such
- 3:23Speaker 3: a long break for for COVID that I think we
- 3:26Speaker 3: really got a chance to And this was why I
- 3:28Speaker 3: was wandering, like think about everything. We really got a
- 3:32Speaker 3: chance to really deep dive on what is important with
- 3:35Speaker 3: us and and and what we wanted to do next.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And I think this is this is that sound, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: us us trying to understand the break and trying to
- 3:48Speaker 3: see the future.
- 3:50Speaker 5: Now there's a five gap between this album and you
- 3:52Speaker 5: lost one voyage. What's what's changed with the band? I
- 3:56Speaker 5: guess as a band and musically in that period.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we I think we've gotten more focused. The break
- 4:05Speaker 3: was exactly that. I think it was something that we
- 4:08Speaker 3: kind of needed. I remember really specifically in twenty twenty
- 4:12Speaker 3: like hoping for a break and then when it happened,
- 4:15Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, what have I done?
- 4:17Speaker 3: And you know, we played a three eleven day in Vegas,
- 4:21Speaker 3: you know, in March, at the beginning of March twenty twenty,
- 4:24Speaker 3: and it was like we were the last show in town.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It was super freaky. And uh, I think we've used
- 4:32Speaker 3: it to our advantage. I think ever, you know, as
- 4:34Speaker 3: a as a society, as a planet, I think we're
- 4:37Speaker 3: doing the best we can, except for you know, a
- 4:39Speaker 3: few wars. I think generally we're doing our best and
- 4:45Speaker 3: h and yeah, I mean it's just it's just still fun.
- 4:50Speaker 3: You know, traveling is still so much fun that you know,
- 4:54Speaker 3: I don't see anything getting in the way of that.
- 4:57Speaker 5: I guess the person the putty you tell you like
- 4:59Speaker 5: that your first thing, you're gonna get hurt with your
- 5:02Speaker 5: highest schotting song in thirty and here is my despote
- 5:04Speaker 5: not release ending so long like in the morning.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I age it's all about about.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Punch in like people and produced so much content because
- 5:11Speaker 5: I think people need it shopped in their face. But
- 5:13Speaker 5: you guys have live in proof that if you got
- 5:14Speaker 5: the quality of music and the reputation.
- 5:16Speaker 4: You don't have to do that.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's such a wall of you know
- 5:22Speaker 3: whatever of streams to fight and that's not that's never
- 5:27Speaker 3: gonna be our strong point. I don't think that'll be
- 5:30Speaker 3: rock rock music, hardcore, skater punk, whatever, hybrid music that
- 5:38Speaker 3: we do is we're never gonna be able to compete
- 5:40Speaker 3: on the level if if streams are sales, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: that's you know, will forever be a little bit underground.
- 5:47Speaker 3: And that's fine. We grew up in the sell you know,
- 5:52Speaker 3: never sell out kind of you know mindset, and we've
- 5:56Speaker 3: definitely you know, softened in that as as a world,
- 6:00Speaker 3: and I think we're better off. But you know, there's
- 6:04Speaker 3: there's something about people going to the record store. Still,
- 6:07Speaker 3: there's people there's something about people calling up radio stations.
- 6:10Speaker 3: There's something about people streaming new music when it is good.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Like you're saying, I don't know, there's the the people
- 6:16Speaker 3: still have quite a voice. It's just amazing how strong
- 6:20Speaker 3: hip hop and pop really have become. And I'm really
- 6:24Speaker 3: looking forward to ramping up the importance of rock and
- 6:29Speaker 3: roll and punk rock and hardcore and like I said, plugging,
- 6:33Speaker 3: plugging in and sweating on your audience. That's what it's
- 6:40Speaker 3: all about right now.
- 6:42Speaker 5: The other good news is three eleven are also headed
- 6:44Speaker 5: to a stryer and just by a four weeks is
- 6:47Speaker 5: part of Good Things twenty twenty five. But shows in
- 6:50Speaker 5: Melbourne on December sixth. Sitting on December seven on Brisbane, December,
- 6:54Speaker 5: I thought, have you started planning for that yet?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Might? Are you just sort of wrapped up in the
- 6:57Speaker 4: album cycle.
- 6:59Speaker 3: We're a little bit like wrapped up in the album cycle.
- 7:02Speaker 3: We've got a lot going on tomorrow here Stateside, and uh,
- 7:05Speaker 3: we've been doing shows, kind of weekender shows here and there,
- 7:08Speaker 3: like we were in Alaska about a month ago. We were,
- 7:10Speaker 3: you know, in Maryland the other side of the continent
- 7:14Speaker 3: a few weeks ago, so dodging hurricanes and so it's
- 7:19Speaker 3: it's good for us to rest. I think you're gonna
- 7:21Speaker 3: get a really fresh version of us. We're gonna stop
- 7:25Speaker 3: in Jakarta before we see you guys in Australia, so
- 7:28Speaker 3: we will definitely be nice and warmed up there as
- 7:30Speaker 3: it is the tropics, and uh, and we will be
- 7:34Speaker 3: ready to you know, rock super hard when we see
- 7:36Speaker 3: you guys.
- 7:37Speaker 5: All Good Things is a matching festival MI like you
- 7:40Speaker 5: got bands like Corn and Carrie King, Massive on Electric Coboy.
- 7:43Speaker 4: But you guys have been around for all.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Is there anyone on there that you haven't played with
- 7:47Speaker 5: that you've been really looking forward to playing?
- 7:49Speaker 3: Well, we just played with Electric Cowboy for the first
- 7:51Speaker 3: time in a little European run where we found ourselves
- 7:55Speaker 3: on festivals with them probably like three times out of
- 7:59Speaker 3: you know, maybe shows that we did and I never
- 8:02Speaker 3: heard of them before, and they destroyed the place. It
- 8:07Speaker 3: is amazing. And what was that collaboration they did? What's
- 8:12Speaker 3: the Japanese band that they played with? They they're they're
- 8:17Speaker 3: doing cool things. And you know, I don't think the
- 8:19Speaker 3: Americans know how how dope Electric Collboy is and are.
- 8:24Speaker 3: And I could be totally wrong about that too, As
- 8:26Speaker 3: I'm a fifty year old male.
- 8:30Speaker 4: You never wronged my mom till you admit it.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I like that. I'm gonna use that.
- 8:37Speaker 5: So what could all these fans actually expect from the
- 8:39Speaker 5: three eleven Shii? Like you say, you're gonna be here,
- 8:41Speaker 5: You're gonna be refreshment once he hit stage, what's that
- 8:43Speaker 5: dynamic going to be?
- 8:45Speaker 3: I mean, you're gonna see a group of guys that
- 8:48Speaker 3: have been together for thirty four years. We're all original members.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I think we're really even though we don't know it.
- 8:56Speaker 3: We're starving for this, this, this you know, to be
- 9:00Speaker 3: with you guys, and I think you're gonna see that.
- 9:04Speaker 3: It'll be undeniable. The joy, the inter band audience communication.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I think it's something we're pretty good at and you
- 9:15Speaker 3: can't fake. Like I said, like a rhythm section that's
- 9:18Speaker 3: played together that long, there's there's a there's an authenticity
- 9:23Speaker 3: that I love to tout and say twice in one
- 9:26Speaker 3: answer that people are going to feel whether they you
- 9:30Speaker 3: know again, whether they know it or not.
- 9:33Speaker 5: And you're also going to be doing three side Shires
- 9:35Speaker 5: brother in Melbourne on December fourth, Princepan December tenth, and
- 9:39Speaker 5: Sydney December the eleventh, and it sort of makes the
- 9:42Speaker 5: long trip Atners try you're worth. Were all getting nice
- 9:44Speaker 5: year exercise.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't wait. I mean the big shows are
- 9:49Speaker 3: going to be fantastic, seeing seeing everybody, seeing all the faces,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and then get me in a small room and watch
- 9:55Speaker 3: us explode too. You know, I love both, I really do.
- 9:59Speaker 5: And the thing about festivals but there's so many bands
- 10:01Speaker 5: on the build that some people go and haven't heard
- 10:04Speaker 5: of quite a few of them. So just say someone's
- 10:06Speaker 5: coming along to good Things and they don't know too
- 10:07Speaker 5: much about three eleven, What three songs should they listen
- 10:10Speaker 5: to get to know the band better?
- 10:13Speaker 3: Oh, I mean come Originals, a favorite I know that
- 10:16Speaker 3: went over well in Australia down of course as probably
- 10:21Speaker 3: our biggest hit we ever had down with you guys.
- 10:25Speaker 3: So and then you know, hopefully you're going to get it,
- 10:30Speaker 3: you know, as people are listening to the new album,
- 10:32Speaker 3: hopefully that'll creep up into importance as well as it's
- 10:36Speaker 3: a damn good song. And uh and we're definitely gonna
- 10:39Speaker 3: be playing it on stage because we like seeing people
- 10:43Speaker 3: feel it well.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Before we let you go, mate, I mean doing a
- 10:46Speaker 5: new thing with Heavy called photo Bomb, which basically means
- 10:49Speaker 5: before I spoke to you, I've gone through your Facebook
- 10:52Speaker 5: pages and I've found a few photos that I want
- 10:54Speaker 5: to talk to you more about. So I'll say now
- 10:58Speaker 5: this one, mate, Like how toll of Apies is that?
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't remember the origin when we started doing it.
- 11:06Speaker 3: We've been doing it for years now. That's a moment
- 11:08Speaker 3: in Beautiful Disaster, which is almost always our first song.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And uh, and if I'm wearing nice pants, I'll be
- 11:17Speaker 3: floating my knee above the stage. And if I'm wearing sweatpants,
- 11:20Speaker 3: I'll be resting my knee on the stage. And that's
- 11:24Speaker 3: a and that's a jacket that I've worn just to
- 11:28Speaker 3: just to dust and it's still hanging tough.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Nice.
- 11:33Speaker 5: And then this one as well. You guys dressed in
- 11:37Speaker 5: silence look pretty damn good.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that was that was fun. I don't think that's us,
- 11:44Speaker 3: but but yeah, that that's probably another band that's on
- 11:49Speaker 3: our cruise. We've definitely looked similar to that. But that's
- 11:56Speaker 3: what that's what it looks like on our cruise. That's
- 11:58Speaker 3: for sure. God, who is that? I could that could
- 12:01Speaker 3: be any number of bands, I'll say, I can't. I
- 12:03Speaker 3: can't say for sure.
- 12:04Speaker 4: It's from two thousand and eight. Anyway, decided if that helps.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yeah, So you know, the audience will tell us. After all,
- 12:11Speaker 3: we'll talk about it in a few weeks. We'll have
- 12:13Speaker 3: a good laugh that.
- 12:14Speaker 1: We shall brother.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Well, thanks very much for you, Tom, that I might
- 12:16Speaker 5: have been a pleasure speaking with you. Best of Black
- 12:18Speaker 5: with the album She's a Cracker Man. I had to
- 12:20Speaker 5: listen before her interview.
- 12:21Speaker 4: She's really good and look forward to seeing HOWDI great.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Long live
- 12:26Speaker 3: Heavy mag Heavy Radio.
- 12:40Speaker 2: See you coming like a train in the distance, watching
- 12:44Speaker 2: everything changeing in the extant.
- 12:46Speaker 6: You know you don't even care what the thing can
- 12:55Speaker 6: When you don't slow down, I won't see it again.
- 12:58Speaker 1: You go too fast. Two hundred on the dash. Tell
- 13:06Speaker 1: me what you do what your death is? A bad
- 13:09Speaker 1: got a bad worse and a better worse.
- 13:12Speaker 7: Talking to nobody, nobody, somebody's girls and a band girls
- 13:18Speaker 7: temper every DAPs. Now you're living within a kilt, feeling
- 13:22Speaker 7: over and over looking over your should.
- 13:30Speaker 8: You gotta get it?
- 13:40Speaker 1: I just not a bed.
- 13:42Speaker 8: You knew you gotta I not a bed because you
- 13:54Speaker 8: know if you go.
- 13:55Speaker 4: To dad, I'm really killing this wool My god.
- 13:58Speaker 5: Baddy warning about to get some too, just about the trustes,
- 14:00Speaker 5: because I would.
- 14:01Speaker 8: WoT and I I'm looking to and I'm a seeing to.
- 14:05Speaker 1: The woolings and let us let him know.
- 14:06Speaker 8: That I'm a feeling.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You know you're gonna shot to your lady.
- 14:10Speaker 8: No going on the dice and kicking down the wall
- 14:14Speaker 8: on the other side.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Watching you dop too fast, two hundred on the dish.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Tell me what you're doing. What you don't is a bad.
- 14:25Speaker 7: Gonna been worse and a better worse talking to nobody,
- 14:30Speaker 7: nobody somebody's.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Bells, and a being girls.
- 14:34Speaker 8: Tim bery bad.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Still, you better bed the guilt feeling.
- 14:38Speaker 8: Over and over over your should you gonna get it?
- 14:56Speaker 8: I just not a bed because you know you're gonna.
- 15:09Speaker 8: I say, did you go from there?
