- 1:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If this is their first episode and your first episode, go ahead and uh download the the rest of the over 500 episodes that we have, and uh we're we're grateful to have you with us on any day, but especially to today.
- 1:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um a temperature standpoint, it's uh it's a mild day, and we've had a lot of not mild days, a lot of a lot of heat.
- 1:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and it's summertime, so that's that's the time of the year where we do get our our warmest days.
- 1:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so it's it's nice to have a little bit of a break here today uh on it.
- 1:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I wanted to just cover uh maybe maybe a couple topics uh that have been rolling around in my mind, in my brain, in my head, not not physic, not physically, but uh just in my mind and my thoughts.
- 2:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh the first is you know, we talk about always talk about success, to always talk about what we hope we've done wrong, what we can do better.
- 2:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What we don't usually talk about is, and which is why I want to reiterate this is the continue, the perseverance uh Elon Musk was asked at a uh pretty prestigious college, university.
- 3:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, they wanted to know, you know, kind of like what's the secret to success?
- 3:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And they were expecting answers that weren't ultimately what Elon said, and what he ended up saying was who can continue on in the face of failure and failure after failure after failure.
- 3:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And he showed that now infamous picture of him uh doing a uh uh I guess it'd be a one of the one of the rockets blew up, and so they had taken all the pieces to uh an aircraft hangar I could fit them, and he's there kind of crouched down like a catcher in American baseball and softball, and he was overlooking what was in front of him, and what was in front of him were thousands of pieces, these pieces weren't fit nicely together like a puzzle, they weren't fit together like they would or should have been uh and were when the test began, they were just pieces.
- 5:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I guess I I think of I don't know, maybe potato chips or something like that.
- 5:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like you take a take a bite, crunch, and then you know, sometimes there's crumbs, and I take more bites, then there's more crumbs, and more bites, more crumbs.
- 5:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know it's a very simple analogy.
- 5:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's basically what he was looking at.
- 5:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He was looking at the crumbled pieces of space, the SpaceX rocket.
- 5:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He could have been deterred.
- 5:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He could have just said, ah, you know what?
- 5:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This this isn't going anywhere.
- 6:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, look, look, look at all these pieces.
- 6:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's no way we're gonna be able to get things to work out that have safe missions with humans aboard and without humans aboard.
- 6:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: More testing.
- 6:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so you know what we don't have to we don't have to like Elon.
- 6:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um we don't have to like his companies, we don't have to like his style, we don't have to like his politics.
- 6:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That that's not what we're talking about here.
- 6:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're talking about him looking at thousands of pieces, maybe even millions.
- 7:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't I don't even know.
- 7:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All I know is there's this picture, and he's just crouched down and he's looking around and and he's just thinking, and then they take that knowledge or learning.
- 7:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is why learning's so important, why I talk about learning so much, because if Elon didn't learn, and his team didn't learn, they'd be back in the same place the next time.
- 7:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If there even was a next time, so they the team and Elon, they were going through all the data and the pieces of the wreckage and all of those things.
- 8:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Okay, we gotta make an adjustment here and there, and and so that's what he meant when he was talking recently to these uh college university students saying, like, hey, I could have I could have given up.
- 8:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: In fact, that's the easy thing to do is to give up.
- 8:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They kept going, they kept going, kept going.
- 8:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And each time he kept going, he kept learning, kept learning, kept learning.
- 8:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Even what may look like the most successful mission, the most successful athlete, the most successful artist, whatever you want to compare it to.
- 9:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They're constantly learning.
- 9:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's kind of the first area where we've as an organization, we've spent a lot of time learning like what you see and what you hear as far as the shows go.
- 9:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's only you know, a few, you know, maybe ten, twenty, thirty, maybe percent.
- 9:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The rest of it you got editing.
- 9:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm constantly watching other fields and people who are successful, and so while maybe at the moment what I'm watching doesn't tie into what I'm doing at the current moment, if it's kind of in the ballpark, you know, in in the vicinity of what may come around someday.
- 10:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I like to I like to watch.
- 10:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I like to listen.
- 10:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm grateful that I'm able to see and that I'm able to hear.
- 10:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I took that for granted for so long.
- 11:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not so much anymore.
- 11:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Do I slip up?
- 11:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yes.
- 11:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're human.
- 11:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm human.
- 11:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody's perfect.
- 11:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we take that idea of doing something and have it not successful and doing it again and have it not successful and again and again and again.
- 11:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then you have fear.
- 11:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Think of it like this Fear F E A R.
- 11:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: False evidence appears real F E A R.
- 12:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: False evidence appears real it's a hard one.
- 12:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not again, none of this is easy.
- 12:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: None of us is but if we look at something in the eyes and we think, you know what?
- 12:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is meant to make me fear this something.
- 13:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so then I think about false evidence appears real.
- 13:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: False evidence appears real.
- 13:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: When we think about it like that, it it doesn't make things I'll say at times less scary, less not knowing, right?
- 13:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The unknown.
- 13:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, the easy, the lazy is to do nothing, to take the easy way out.
- 13:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But if you look at something and go, this roadblock, this particular, this particular obstacle was put here for a reason.
- 14:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And now we tie it in with that higher power.
- 14:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For me, it's God and Jesus Christ.
- 14:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For you, whatever whatever that higher power is, when you wrap those things together and say, the higher power put this particular thing, roadblock, construction, power outage hurdle in front of me.
- 15:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They wouldn't do that if you didn't think we could surpass that.
- 15:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So you see how a lot of things are mental in our minds between the ears.
- 15:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And how easy it is to slip and fall and have things that we should be able to overcome.
- 15:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, some things we're we're we might not, but a majority of them.
- 16:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we look at fear with that false evidence appears real, F E A R.
- 16:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if we look at failure after failure after failure after failure, and we continue to go, we continue to move on, we continue to learn, we don't give up, we don't give up at that at that point.
- 16:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because here's the thing to think about.
- 16:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Competitors on any level on for anything, they're watching, they're listening, they're seeing what you're doing, they're seeing what I'm doing, they're listening to what you're doing, listening to what I'm doing.
- 16:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And the moment, the moment we give up, and we don't continue after a failure, the moment we don't look fear in the eyes, and don't look at it as false evidence appears real.
- 17:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Guess who's right there to take take the gold medal, take the reins?
- 17:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: After all that groundwork was laid, after that foundation was laid by you and I and so many others.
- 17:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Do you want your competition to just be able to walk walk in and have a cakewalk?
- 18:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't I don't want our competition I need a competition to have a cakewalk.
- 18:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They need to put in the work.
- 18:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I promise you this.
- 18:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody will outwork me.
- 18:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody doesn't mean I'm perfect.
- 18:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't say that.
- 18:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I said nobody will outwork me.
- 18:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: From the time we we got serious about the organization, we got serious about our podcasts and TV show.
- 19:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody's outworked us in this field.
- 19:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, we don't want to talk about politics a whole lot for good reason.
- 19:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It divides us more than it brings people together, and we we want to bring people together.
- 19:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we have to we have to want it too.
- 19:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have to want we have to want to get better We have to try to get better and for a lot of things trying is more than half the battle So what are you gonna do?
- 20:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are you gonna continue to learn?
- 20:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are you gonna continue taking the easy way out?
- 20:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The lazy way out You wanna just give up, stop when your competition can just you know waltz right into the end zone for a touchdown or kick the football in into the net for uh for an easy goal.
- 20:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Are you gonna see it through?
- 20:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know I know what my answer is.
- 21:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know what we're doing and going to do.
- 21:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it's not all about me, it's about you.
- 21:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You're tuning in, you're watching, you're listening.
- 21:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Please let me be some inspiration for you.
- 21:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Going through easy things, hard things, easy topics, hard topics, easy times, hard times.
- 21:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Guess through the best you can.
- 21:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If there's failure, keep on going.
- 21:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And remember, false evidence appears real.
- 21:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: False evidence appears real.
- 21:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you for joining us.
- 21:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You can give us the big thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost.
- 22:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All those things are free to do.
- 22:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if you could help us out also letting maybe 25 or 50 contacts in your phone, share the voices for voices, podcast with them wherever they get podcasts, and wherever you get podcast.
- 22:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So until next time, let's celebrate all the voices of the world.
- 22:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And let's be a voice not just for ourselves, if we're able to, but let's see if we can do that for others.
- 22:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Have a great day.
- 22:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll see you soon.
- 22:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Bye bye for now.
