- 0:13Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on here? There's open lines. I've got
- 0:16Speaker 1: a few open lines. Call me, 800-321-0710.
- 0:17Speaker 3: 800-321-0710.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Let's go to Steve in Lyndhurst. Steve, how you doing?
- 0:29Speaker 4: Hey, Mark, how you doing? Glad to talk to you.
- 0:32Speaker 4: So remember when they fired all those people for COVID,
- 0:36Speaker 4: that black lady on TV, she was a teacher and
- 0:40Speaker 4: Kathy Hochul fired her. Bruce Blakeman should put her on
- 0:43Speaker 4: TV and everybody else who was fired and didn't get
- 0:46Speaker 4: their jobs back.
- 0:47Speaker 1: All right. Yeah, that's a good point. She did, uh,
- 0:50Speaker 1: the handling of that whole pandemic. Although, uh, really it
- 0:52Speaker 1: was Cuomo at the time that was the governor, but, uh, well,
- 0:56Speaker 1: it was the Democrats. So, you know, yeah, so it
- 0:58Speaker 1: wasn't Hochul, but, uh, But thanks for calling. No matter
- 1:01Speaker 1: what you do, you could run a million commercials. Everybody always,
- 1:04Speaker 1: you know what you should have done? Why don't you
- 1:05Speaker 1: do this? You should have done this. You can't do everything.
- 1:08Speaker 1: You can't do everything. Hey, by the way, Blakeman fundraising
- 1:13Speaker 1: apparently is through the roof since the debate. We'll get
- 1:16Speaker 1: to that coming up. Let's go to David in Queens. David,
- 1:20Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Hey, Mark.
- 1:23Speaker 5: Good morning.
- 1:23Speaker 6: Mark, have you noticed these local politicians have altered their
- 1:27Speaker 6: method of dress? in order to appeal to the communists.
- 1:30Speaker 6: For instance, State Senator John Liu goes walking around with
- 1:34Speaker 6: these Havana shirts on to different events that Cuomo used
- 1:38Speaker 6: to wear. And this Jumaane Williams wears these beads that
- 1:42Speaker 6: my grandmother used to wear when she came over for
- 1:44Speaker 6: Sunday dinner.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I wonder if you noticed this, Mark.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, some of them do do that. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Cuomo did that. He wore, it was the shirt Fredo
- 1:53Speaker 1: wore in the Havana scene in The Godfather. It was
- 1:56Speaker 1: the shirt Lalo Salamanca wore in Breaking Bad, that weird
- 2:02Speaker 1: summer shirt. Let's go to John in Hell's Kitchen. John,
- 2:06Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 2:07Speaker 5: Hello, Mark. How are you?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Good.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I was wondering, since you're a guy that knows really
- 2:14Speaker 5: good restaurants, what would be the top five restaurants in
- 2:19Speaker 5: New York?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Oh, you can't do that. It's a hundred-way tie. There
- 2:21Speaker 1: are no top five. I mean, technically. Technically, the number
- 2:25Speaker 1: one would be per se, LaBernadine. Mazza, but you don't
- 2:30Speaker 1: want to eat there.
- 2:31Speaker 5: What about one that would be reasonable? You don't have
- 2:35Speaker 5: to mortgage your left leg or something.
- 2:38Speaker 1: There's a million great restaurants. Let's just look around. Let's
- 2:42Speaker 1: look around this block where we are. Oh, up there,
- 2:45Speaker 1: 7th Avenue, Trattoria dell'Arte. Very fine restaurant.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Okay, okay, okay. See, that's the one near Carnegie Hall.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Right across from Carnegie Hall. That's a great restaurant, Italian restaurant.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Okay, because I know you're always talking about restaurants and stuff, and.
- 3:03Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Now that I'm getting older, I remember restaurants from, you know, Gino's.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Remember Gino's?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Gino's was okay. It was okay.
- 3:13Speaker 5: You didn't like Gino's?
- 3:14Speaker 1: It was like a really old, old, old school Italian.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You had to pay cash, right?
- 3:20Speaker 5: Yeah, the food was good, though.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It was good. It was good. Trattoria Del Arte, right
- 3:24Speaker 1: up the block. It's much better.
- 3:25Speaker 7: All right.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Much better. Much better. Let's go to Greg in Florida. Greg,
- 3:30Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark. How are you?
- 3:33Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 3:33Speaker 5: All right, good.
- 3:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yesterday you said something about the kids being involved with
- 3:40Speaker 2: their phones and everything else and whatnot. Recently I saw
- 3:43Speaker 2: a child psychologist on that. on TV and she was
- 3:48Speaker 2: all worried about scaring the children at Halloween and all
- 3:52Speaker 2: of this stuff. And then I thought about it and
- 3:54Speaker 2: I said, you know, this all started with Dr. Spock
- 3:56Speaker 2: years ago. These kids are way, way, way too soft.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We grew up, you know, drinking water out of hoses,
- 4:04Speaker 2: riding bikes without helmets. You know what I'm saying? This
- 4:07Speaker 2: is just, you know, coddling these kids.
- 4:10Speaker 4: What do you think?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Well, that's true. But remember when you were a kid,
- 4:14Speaker 1: No helmet, drinking out of hoses. Your parents told you
- 4:17Speaker 1: you were soft. You hadn't been through the depression. You
- 4:19Speaker 1: didn't know what it was like. They were always doing that.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So every generation, this generation when they get old will
- 4:26Speaker 1: think their kids are soft. Hey, by the way, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I have dry eye. So I go to the eye doctor.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Everybody has dry eye, you know, which means you got
- 4:35Speaker 1: to put eye drops in all the time. You probably
- 4:37Speaker 1: had this. So I've been talking to all these eye doctors.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Apparently it's caused by the phone, by your iPhone. Because
- 4:42Speaker 1: you're looking at your phone for many hours a day.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And apparently when you don't look at the phone, you
- 4:48Speaker 1: don't blink. You just stare at it and don't blink.
- 4:51Speaker 1: And not blinking causes the dry eye. So I've been
- 4:55Speaker 1: teaching myself when I look at the phone to keep
- 4:57Speaker 1: blinking all the time. Just blink a lot. So if
- 5:00Speaker 1: you're always looking at your phone or computer screen, blink
- 5:03Speaker 1: every few seconds. Just blink a lot. It gets rid
- 5:07Speaker 1: of the dry eye. You'll save yourself a fortune on
- 5:10Speaker 1: all those eye drops. Let's go to Sandy in New Jersey. Sandy,
- 5:14Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Fine.
- 5:15Speaker 7: How are you doing, Mark? Oh, I'm good.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'm good. You've got to slow down a little. I'm
- 5:19Speaker 1: still half asleep. I'm not used to being up this early,
- 5:21Speaker 1: but go ahead.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I know.
- 5:22Speaker 7: I know that you're kind of like, oh, go another hour. Anyway,
- 5:26Speaker 7: the reason I called is I was just reading in
- 5:28Speaker 7: the New York Post.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You always talk this fast. It's very fast. How does
- 5:30Speaker 1: anybody keep up with you?
- 5:32Speaker 7: Okay, I'll slow down. I said I was just reading.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you were just reading.
- 5:38Speaker 7: I'm talking fast again?
- 5:39Speaker 1: You're a little fast. Slow down a little.
- 5:41Speaker 7: Yeah, I know. I always talk fast.
- 5:42Speaker 1: How many cups of coffee did you have today?
- 5:44Speaker 7: I've only started my first cup.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 5:47Speaker 7: Okay. Anyway, I said I was just reading in the
- 5:50Speaker 7: New York Post that I'm a registered voter in the
- 5:55Speaker 7: 17th District in New York State, Mike Lawler's district. And
- 5:58Speaker 7: apparently there was a meeting, like all the candidates did,
- 6:01Speaker 7: And Kay Conley was there. And she had agreed that
- 6:06Speaker 7: Kathy Hochul needs to go. Kay Conley is the Democratic candidate.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but you've got to remember, a lot of
- 6:12Speaker 1: these Democratic socialists, the real left-wingers, hate Hochul.
- 6:15Speaker 4: They don't trust her.
- 6:15Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, but I don't think Kay Conley is
- 6:17Speaker 7: a socialist. She's kind of like is keeping a low profile.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but the left-wing, the real Democrats hate
- 6:22Speaker 1: Kathy Hochul. They just think she's a bird brain.
- 6:24Speaker 7: Yeah, so what do you think? You think Bruce Blakeman's
- 6:26Speaker 7: got a shot at it?
- 6:27Speaker 1: No, I think he's got a big shot at it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I think he's going to win. You see how much
- 6:31Speaker 1: better you sound slow?
- 6:34Speaker 7: Well, I think I'm also a little nervous.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Oh, don't be nervous. Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 7: But this is, like I said, I listen to you
- 6:40Speaker 7: every morning. And I just really like listening to your show.
- 6:44Speaker 7: You're really great. And, you know, catch you on TV
- 6:46Speaker 7: when you do.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You got TV now. Look at this.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Wow. All right.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Well, thanks for calling. Call us again. Let's go to
- 6:54Speaker 1: Chris and Beth Page. Chris, how you doing? Hey, Mark.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Love your show.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Listen, all can decide. Say the Dems win the House, okay?
- 7:05Speaker 3: And the Republicans retain the Senate, okay? And everyone's predicting
- 7:10Speaker 3: all they're going to do is just put Trump through impeachment.
- 7:13Speaker 3: There's going to be all these hearings. But seriously, what
- 7:17Speaker 3: is their plan? Does anyone know to bring down gas prices?
- 7:21Speaker 3: And what are they going to do?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Well, they don't want to bring it down. Democrats always
- 7:24Speaker 1: bring them up. They like to bring them up. In fact,
- 7:26Speaker 1: if it were up to the Democrats, it would be
- 7:27Speaker 1: $ 10 a gallon. Because they want to push everybody to
- 7:30Speaker 1: electric cars. They always get the gas prices as high
- 7:33Speaker 1: as they can get them.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Always.
- 7:35Speaker 3: But they're running on affordability.
- 7:37Speaker 1: They're running on affordability. I know.
- 7:38Speaker 3: How are they going to make things more affordable?
- 7:40Speaker 4: They're not.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They're not. It's the last thing they want to do. No,
- 7:42Speaker 1: they never do that. I know. They'll run on whatever
- 7:44Speaker 1: sounds good. They run on whatever you want to hear.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And then when they get in office, they go right
- 7:48Speaker 1: back to the regular Democratic plan, which is green energy,
- 7:53Speaker 1: get you to stop driving gas cars, get you to
- 7:56Speaker 1: stop using gas.
- 7:58Speaker 3: And.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Again, with Democrats, it's always $ 10 a gallon. That's always
- 8:01Speaker 1: their goal. Hey, coming up next, we have a great guest.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Anybody have any idea who it is? Do we have
- 8:08Speaker 1: a guest? Oh, you're kidding. Oh, okay. See, it really
- 8:12Speaker 1: is a great guest. It's Howie Carr. Somebody canceled that
- 8:17Speaker 1: we were like scrambling for another guest. The great Howie
- 8:19Speaker 1: Carr will be with us next on 710WOR.
