- 0:01Speaker 1: This is Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous in Depth.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello everyone, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast. It's Ashley
- 0:09Speaker 1: and I am the solo host today with my guests
- 0:13Speaker 1: Kaylin Miller Keys Welcome. Thanks for being here always. You're
- 0:18Speaker 1: such a good constant in our lives. Well, thanks for
- 0:22Speaker 1: having me. Well, we haven't talked to you since you
- 0:25Speaker 1: and Dean got engaged. I know that you've given specifics
- 0:28Speaker 1: of the engagement on Dean and Jared's podcast Help I
- 0:31Speaker 1: Suck a Dating just to ironic that the two of
- 0:34Speaker 1: them are now in very committed relationships, but they still
- 0:38Speaker 1: suck a dating. And let me tell you, Jared does
- 0:40Speaker 1: suck a dating because we barely go on dates and he's, Um,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I don't remember the last time he did anything romantic
- 0:48Speaker 1: for me. Now I'm gonna this is how I'm starting
- 0:53Speaker 1: it off. Um, he used to be so romantic and
- 0:56Speaker 1: that's how, like I guess, life goes. But how has
- 1:01Speaker 1: Dean been romantically since you guys got together to now?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Had there been any has has there been any shifts?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Has he been romantic? Yeah? I think he's more romantic
- 1:14Speaker 1: than me. Um, which I wasn't expecting. But I'm sorry
- 1:19Speaker 1: if you can hear that. That's his motorcycle he's taking off.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Uh he Yeah. The start of the relationship, I feel
- 1:26Speaker 1: like I was like more, not more into it, but
- 1:29Speaker 1: like more romantic. I guess it's just the best way
- 1:33Speaker 1: to put it. And then slowly he became more open
- 1:35Speaker 1: and more vulnerable with his feelings and everything, and now
- 1:38Speaker 1: he's suddenly the more romantic one. Oh that's so cute.
- 1:41Speaker 1: What was the last romantic thing he did besides proposed
- 1:44Speaker 1: to you, because we'll get into that very soon. The
- 1:48Speaker 1: last romantic thing, well, at Thanksgiving we did like what
- 1:51Speaker 1: are you thinkful for? And then you just said the
- 1:53Speaker 1: sweet thing about how he is excited to marry me
- 1:56Speaker 1: and spend the rest of my life, spend of the
- 1:58Speaker 1: rest of his life with me. So that was sweet.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I don't know, like romantic gesture wise, When he's done,
- 2:02Speaker 1: then yeah, see Jared says romantic thing. He says like
- 2:05Speaker 1: kind loving things like that all the time. He's really
- 2:07Speaker 1: good with words of affirmation. But like, I'm like, almost
- 2:11Speaker 1: the last time you just did something because you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: just surprising with flowers, I don't know, I know Dean
- 2:19Speaker 1: does not understand flowers, and I think he's gotten me
- 2:21Speaker 1: flowers once in three and a half years. They're so nice.
- 2:27Speaker 1: What would you what would be your ideal like romantic
- 2:30Speaker 1: gesture gift from him? Um, Actually, he just bought me
- 2:35Speaker 1: this five ft tall gnome, which I'm like obsessed with
- 2:39Speaker 1: holiday gnomes, so I'm looking at it right now. He
- 2:42Speaker 1: like he does little things like that where he'll surprise
- 2:44Speaker 1: me with gifts. But I don't think he likes flowers,
- 2:47Speaker 1: like flowers will be nice to come home to every
- 2:49Speaker 1: once in a while. I get. I get how guys
- 2:51Speaker 1: think about flowers though, you know, they think they die,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and you know, what's the point. I think the gnome
- 2:57Speaker 1: is actually way more romantic because it's very personal five ft.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I just let if that's romantic, then my gesture was
- 3:05Speaker 1: romantic as well. We were at home depot looking for
- 3:09Speaker 1: fake Christmas trees and Jared saw a nine foot grinch,
- 3:14Speaker 1: a blow up one. And he has this thing where
- 3:17Speaker 1: he loves cheesy holiday decor for outside. It's like that's
- 3:22Speaker 1: what his dad was into, like plastic things and blow
- 3:26Speaker 1: up things. And I'm like, this is so embarrassing. No,
- 3:29Speaker 1: but this was so like I'm still like a reverence
- 3:33Speaker 1: that I was just like, okay, yeah you you, I
- 3:35Speaker 1: see you eye belong that get it, satisfy your little
- 3:39Speaker 1: your Christmas elf self and and do it. So I'm
- 3:42Speaker 1: sure it'll be blown up in the front yard later
- 3:45Speaker 1: this week. I'll get a good laugh out of it. Anyway,
- 3:50Speaker 1: we could talk more about this later when we're talking
- 3:54Speaker 1: about holiday traditions, because we're gonna do a little bonus
- 3:56Speaker 1: podcast about our holiday traditions and favorite things. So right now,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I wanted to dig a little bit deeper and of
- 4:04Speaker 1: course into the engagement. So my thought is that you guys,
- 4:11Speaker 1: it's like, wasn't a surprise to you at all? Am
- 4:13Speaker 1: I wrong? Um? It was. I always thought he was
- 4:17Speaker 1: proposing in quiet and then he lost the engagement ring,
- 4:21Speaker 1: so then I was like, I guess he's not proposing.
- 4:24Speaker 1: But I knew he was going to propose by the
- 4:26Speaker 1: end of the year, but losing the ring really threw
- 4:28Speaker 1: me off. So you thought he was gonna wait until
- 4:32Speaker 1: he found the ring or got a new one. Yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I thought he would wait until he found it. But
- 4:38Speaker 1: like you guys, knew that you were going to get engaged,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and like you knew there were what there was going
- 4:42Speaker 1: to be a proposal because you even went and picked
- 4:44Speaker 1: out your ring. Yeah. Yeah, I mean it's been sitting
- 4:48Speaker 1: in our drawer for like four or five months and
- 4:51Speaker 1: you've known this Yeah yeah. Did you look at it
- 4:54Speaker 1: in the dour Yeah? I have like photos of it
- 4:57Speaker 1: on my hand. I would try it on all the time,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and it's obviously not been lost. Now for those who
- 5:04Speaker 1: are wondering, what is this about a lost ring, well,
- 5:09Speaker 1: Dean actually lost the engagement ring that he was in
- 5:12Speaker 1: the first place resistant to get for Kaylin because he
- 5:16Speaker 1: didn't want to spend money on a ring. You know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: Dean a little a little hippie dippy kind of thought
- 5:22Speaker 1: that it was superficial and not worth not worth it,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, but you really wanted the ring that you wanted,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and he ended up I don't want to say caving,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but seeing your side, yes, seeing my guess, seeing my side.
- 5:38Speaker 1: We had so many conversations about it. He doesn't understand
- 5:41Speaker 1: and now, like in the wedding plan aspect, he just
- 5:43Speaker 1: doesn't understand how things can cost so much. So he's like,
- 5:46Speaker 1: how could a ring cost so much? And now that
- 5:48Speaker 1: we're wedding planning, he's like, how could a wedding cost
- 5:50Speaker 1: so much. So it just about like using him into
- 5:52Speaker 1: things and like starting small and then getting a little bigger.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Was there anything about you guys splitting the costs of
- 5:59Speaker 1: the ring? I just wanted to buy it because I
- 6:02Speaker 1: knew he didn't want to buy it, And I was like,
- 6:04Speaker 1: there's a ring that I want, and I and the
- 6:08Speaker 1: breadwinner in the relationships, so why shouldn't I And I'm
- 6:11Speaker 1: wearing the ring every day of my life. So I
- 6:13Speaker 1: was like, I don't think it's right that you should
- 6:16Speaker 1: pay for it. And then we came to the compromise
- 6:17Speaker 1: that I would buy him a track and he would
- 6:20Speaker 1: buy me engagement ring. That's sweet. Were they on par? Price? Was? Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 1: well I put down a down payment and then yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: he's paying off theirs. That's so nice. So the ring
- 6:32Speaker 1: you had been eyeing for a while, when did you
- 6:36Speaker 1: actually say like, okay, let's get it. Um he came
- 6:42Speaker 1: home one day, Yeah, he I found the ring and
- 6:46Speaker 1: then it was purchased by a jeweler and they were like,
- 6:49Speaker 1: all right, you just sent to pay for it. So
- 6:50Speaker 1: I sent him the link to pay for it, and
- 6:52Speaker 1: then he's like, no, I want to buy it from
- 6:54Speaker 1: somewhere else. I still to this day have no idea
- 6:56Speaker 1: where he got it from. So then the jeweler had
- 6:58Speaker 1: to return it back to where they purchase a step from,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and he bought it, and then we were on a trip.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I think his friend took him to the airport and
- 7:05Speaker 1: his friend was like holding onto it for like three
- 7:08Speaker 1: weeks or something. Did he have it when he climbed
- 7:12Speaker 1: Mount Everest? No, okay, no, because it was here because
- 7:16Speaker 1: because you're like, I tried it on during that trip. Yeah. Yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I actually flew it to New York because I was
- 7:21Speaker 1: going to have my jeweler make it into a ring.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And I'm standing in front of the door and Dean's like, no,
- 7:26Speaker 1: it's my meetings at nine am. It's eight fifty nine.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And I was like, all right, I'm about to drop
- 7:30Speaker 1: it off and he's like, no, take it back, like
- 7:32Speaker 1: I want to make it. So like it was literally
- 7:35Speaker 1: about to be it's still just a loose stone wherever
- 7:37Speaker 1: it is. It was about to be made into a ring.
- 7:39Speaker 1: And then oh wait, how how did you put a
- 7:41Speaker 1: loose stone on your finger? I was just like rest it, okay,
- 7:48Speaker 1: so you found the stone that you really liked, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: then the jeweler was going to put the stone on
- 7:56Speaker 1: the setting, but he was insisted on one particular or Julia.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Was he going to get a little bargain. No, I
- 8:03Speaker 1: don't know who it was. I don't think he was
- 8:05Speaker 1: going to get any sort of discount. Also, like we
- 8:08Speaker 1: had been talking about this for months. I was like,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm going to New York. I'm going to drop the
- 8:12Speaker 1: ring off. We have been talking about this so much.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And then once I'm there, I like flew it safely
- 8:17Speaker 1: to New York with me. I was stressed about it
- 8:19Speaker 1: the whole time. He's like, never mind, I want to
- 8:21Speaker 1: make it, Like, how do you just We've been talking
- 8:24Speaker 1: about this for so long, But that's kind of on
- 8:26Speaker 1: part for him. So he wanted to have something to
- 8:29Speaker 1: do with the design. Did you have the design laid
- 8:32Speaker 1: out exactly how you wanted it? Very particular? Okay, yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 1: But then I was excited about that. I was like,
- 8:39Speaker 1: it's super sweet that you want to do it, and
- 8:42Speaker 1: I think it's more romantic now, right, Surprised when I
- 8:44Speaker 1: see it for the first year, Right, So I get that,
- 8:46Speaker 1: Like that seems like a like I like that that
- 8:49Speaker 1: there's some sort of surprise component to the proposal. But
- 8:53Speaker 1: then but then he goes and he loses the ring.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Why wasn't in a drunk drawer in the kitchen just
- 9:00Speaker 1: a loose stone, I'm told I'm told via my husband
- 9:04Speaker 1: that it was a loose stone wrapped in a napkin
- 9:08Speaker 1: in the kitchen drunk drawer. Why wasn't this one at
- 9:12Speaker 1: least in a little jewelry case, let alone like in
- 9:15Speaker 1: a safe and some something. Well, that's why I'm confused
- 9:20Speaker 1: where he bought it from, because that's how he purchased it.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It was just wrapped in blue tissue paper and still
- 9:26Speaker 1: as long as it's not in the garbage somewhere, it's
- 9:28Speaker 1: still wrapped in loose tissue paper somewhere. But I guess
- 9:31Speaker 1: he came home and it was just sitting on the counter.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So I just put it in the drawer and it
- 9:35Speaker 1: sat there for months, and then I was checking in
- 9:39Speaker 1: on it periodically. I would like go to try it on,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and then I kept hinting like, if you're going to
- 9:43Speaker 1: propose by the end of the year, this takes a while,
- 9:46Speaker 1: you should probably go get it made into a ring.
- 9:48Speaker 1: And he asked me to stop pressure him to get
- 9:51Speaker 1: it made into a ring. So I stopped asking, and
- 9:54Speaker 1: I would still check in on it periodically. I checked
- 9:57Speaker 1: one day and it was gone, so I was like, okay,
- 9:59Speaker 1: he took it to the jeweler. Um turns out that
- 10:02Speaker 1: that is when it went missing, because the next day
- 10:04Speaker 1: he was going to go take it and he was
- 10:06Speaker 1: then confused where it was. Kaylin, I can't get over this.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And now I'm even more mind boggled as to how
- 10:16Speaker 1: this is all happened, because my theory was that you
- 10:20Speaker 1: didn't know it was in that drawer, and you saw
- 10:23Speaker 1: like paper or something in the drawer and you're trying
- 10:26Speaker 1: to like clean up, and then you just toss it out.
- 10:28Speaker 1: How did it actually just disappear? It's so weird, and
- 10:34Speaker 1: we spent hours and hours. We have a camera at
- 10:36Speaker 1: that points directly like in their kitchen, has a perfect
- 10:39Speaker 1: view of it. We spent hours going through the footage
- 10:42Speaker 1: and trying to figure out when he took it, because
- 10:44Speaker 1: I wouldn't take it. It's not I have nowhere to
- 10:46Speaker 1: put it and nothing to do with it. If I did,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I would put it right back. And we cannot find
- 10:51Speaker 1: when he moved it, So I don't know. I'm not
- 10:54Speaker 1: even sure that ring I guess like ring insurance is
- 10:56Speaker 1: not even a thing because it wasn't a real ring
- 10:59Speaker 1: yet you wouldn't have had it ensured, so you just
- 11:02Speaker 1: like thousands of dollars down the toilet. Yeah, and he's
- 11:07Speaker 1: been spending all day today working on his motorcycle and like,
- 11:09Speaker 1: why aren't you searching for the spring? He is so
- 11:12Speaker 1: nonchalant about it. I'm like, I don't think he cares
- 11:15Speaker 1: that it's gone. This is because he doesn't value money. Yes, seriously,
- 11:22Speaker 1: this would frustrate me to no end if I lose, like,
- 11:25Speaker 1: let's just say a set of like hundred dollar headphones,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I'll go crazy, you know, like I will always scour
- 11:33Speaker 1: my brain, like right now, there's one thing in this
- 11:36Speaker 1: house that oh, yes, okay, so there's a camera, baby camera.
- 11:39Speaker 1: And when we moved, I thought that the baby camera
- 11:43Speaker 1: was in a like you know, one of the storage
- 11:45Speaker 1: bins in the basement. So I was like, oh, no problem,
- 11:48Speaker 1: when I need that when his crib goes upstairs, I'll
- 11:50Speaker 1: just go scour those bins. And now I can't find
- 11:53Speaker 1: them at all. And I think about it almost daily.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And it's like a two camera, let alone a gem stone. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 1: that's how I am too, and that's how most people are.
- 12:05Speaker 1: But so how I like, did you guys get angry
- 12:09Speaker 1: and did you get a fight about this? Because I
- 12:11Speaker 1: would have gotten Yeah, it would have been raging. I'm
- 12:16Speaker 1: trying to be very cool about this. I tend to
- 12:19Speaker 1: really stress and like, I, yeah, we can get in
- 12:22Speaker 1: fights over my stress. And I've really tried to just
- 12:25Speaker 1: be very calm throughout this whole situation. So far, I
- 12:28Speaker 1: have been. But I'm losing patients just because it's not
- 12:31Speaker 1: even like I'm happy with the ring that he got
- 12:33Speaker 1: his replacement ring, but I'm like, how do you lose
- 12:36Speaker 1: that much money? I'm just confused. All right, Well, let's
- 12:51Speaker 1: get let's try to get past the fact that the
- 12:54Speaker 1: ring is the stone is missing and get to the engagement.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So you you would initially that if the ring were
- 13:00Speaker 1: a thing, that the engagement, like the actual getting down
- 13:03Speaker 1: on one knee, would be in Kauai, a part of Hawaii. Um,
- 13:09Speaker 1: did you expect it to be when it was after
- 13:14Speaker 1: a hike of the century, The hike of the century,
- 13:17Speaker 1: like literally one of hike that people have died on
- 13:21Speaker 1: that experienced hikers have died on. Um, there's apparently a
- 13:25Speaker 1: very narrow pathway between like the edge of the mountain
- 13:31Speaker 1: and like the ocean. Right, yeah, so explain that whole
- 13:38Speaker 1: day to me. Um, yeah, I gosh it was. It
- 13:45Speaker 1: ended up being a great day, but like leading up
- 13:47Speaker 1: to it, it was miserable. I was miserable, and a
- 13:51Speaker 1: week before I started googling like what should I pack,
- 13:53Speaker 1: what should I bring? What should I know? And that
- 13:56Speaker 1: is when I started to freak out because people are like,
- 13:58Speaker 1: this is not for office hikers. And I have hiped,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but I don't enjoy hiking. I'm not in hiking shape. Um.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's just like a specific type of shape that you
- 14:08Speaker 1: need to be in that I am not in. And
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'm very clumsy, Like i feel like my center of
- 14:13Speaker 1: gravity is off, so I'm always like tripping, Oh my gosh.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And there's like no railing nothing, there's nothing. It's just
- 14:21Speaker 1: like a drop off and if you fall, you die.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Did you hug like the mountain the entire time? Just
- 14:29Speaker 1: hand palms on the mountain during that section, That's exactly
- 14:33Speaker 1: how it was. I was like hugging the wall and
- 14:36Speaker 1: bring across. Um. Yeah, it was terrible, And I was
- 14:40Speaker 1: really mean to Dean right before he proposed, and I
- 14:44Speaker 1: told him I would never hike with him again for
- 14:45Speaker 1: the rest of our lives. Um. I just kept asking,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and I was like, how could you do this to me?
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'm looking back on it, I'm like, I was so dramatic,
- 14:53Speaker 1: but I really thought I couldn't do it and I
- 14:56Speaker 1: could potentially die. How Like, Okay, so you were mad
- 15:00Speaker 1: because once you got to that spot, the spot that
- 15:03Speaker 1: he actually got down on one knee, is like the
- 15:05Speaker 1: end of the hike, right, and it's like the final
- 15:08Speaker 1: destination that everybody loves to go and see. So you
- 15:12Speaker 1: had finished half the hike because you got there, and
- 15:15Speaker 1: then you still had to go back where you mad
- 15:17Speaker 1: at him because you really thought that you were in
- 15:19Speaker 1: danger on it. Um, yeah, we were. We were still
- 15:24Speaker 1: lit about two miles from the beach, I think two
- 15:26Speaker 1: or three miles, and so the whole time, I was thinking,
- 15:30Speaker 1: if I can't even do this now, like I then
- 15:32Speaker 1: have to hike out tomorrow, how am I going to
- 15:34Speaker 1: do this again? And so that's when I started to panic.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I was like, maybe I can do this once, but
- 15:38Speaker 1: I can't do it twice. That's where a lot of
- 15:40Speaker 1: the anchor came from. Okay, so it's twenty two mile
- 15:43Speaker 1: hike right, eleven miles to the beach and eleven miles
- 15:46Speaker 1: back and it's the same trail. Yeah, you do have
- 15:50Speaker 1: to do it exactly all over again. Yes, How it's
- 15:55Speaker 1: interesting that you say that you're not a hiker, you're
- 15:59Speaker 1: not a fan of hiking, because I feel like that's
- 16:02Speaker 1: all Dean has you do on vacation, I know, And
- 16:06Speaker 1: all I want to do is like tan or shop
- 16:09Speaker 1: or just like lounge around. And he everywhere we go
- 16:12Speaker 1: we either have to be rock climbing or hiking. Do
- 16:15Speaker 1: you guys compromise on that? Yeah? I feel like we
- 16:19Speaker 1: hike maybe once every trip, and then we do everything
- 16:21Speaker 1: and I want to do for the rest of the tether.
- 16:22Speaker 1: All right, well that's good. Okay. So he gets down
- 16:25Speaker 1: on one knee by doing something really cool. Can you
- 16:28Speaker 1: explain how he got it all on camera? Yes? So
- 16:33Speaker 1: he set up his tripod and we always take That's
- 16:35Speaker 1: the only way we get photos together is if we
- 16:37Speaker 1: set it up on our tripod and just have an
- 16:39Speaker 1: auto shoot. So that wasn't like I wasn't suspecting anything. Um,
- 16:43Speaker 1: and then he walks over and we're like taking photos
- 16:46Speaker 1: and kissing and doing like how we normally take photos,
- 16:48Speaker 1: very romantic, and then he was like I saw this
- 16:51Speaker 1: TikTok because he was filming on his phone too, and
- 16:54Speaker 1: he was like, let's stand back to back and then
- 16:55Speaker 1: we'll spin and face each other. So we did that
- 16:58Speaker 1: two or three times, and then he pulled out the
- 17:00Speaker 1: ring and got down a winning He pulled out the ring.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he gotta he got it's not. The day
- 17:11Speaker 1: before we left, he went to a jeweler and then
- 17:14Speaker 1: picked this one up. Oh that's so cute. So you
- 17:16Speaker 1: do have something. Oh I love that. Oh yeah that's
- 17:21Speaker 1: so cool. Like this is fine, Like I don't care,
- 17:25Speaker 1: but I just can't believe that much money is lost.
- 17:30Speaker 1: You'll get it, You'll you'll find a way. I'm surprised
- 17:33Speaker 1: that are there are there jewelers that have reached out
- 17:36Speaker 1: and said that they'd like to do an exchange for
- 17:38Speaker 1: you on social media for a new ring. No, none, really,
- 17:43Speaker 1: after all these stories, I think that somebody would have
- 17:46Speaker 1: dollar signs in their eyes. Someone please, But I think so.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I'm just I'm gonna get a moisten that ring. And
- 17:55Speaker 1: is that the lab grown? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 1: that just seems like a great option these days, I know.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And I wish I knew that before him, because I
- 18:04Speaker 1: never would have Boughtenden that truck because seriously, the Moist
- 18:10Speaker 1: Night ring I think is in the same carrot that
- 18:12Speaker 1: he got is about two or three grand. Really, yeah,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and it looks the same. There's gonna be I'm going
- 18:20Speaker 1: to say that, like engagements going forward, they're gonna have
- 18:23Speaker 1: to be like at least those. I know that, like
- 18:26Speaker 1: it's on a totally new thing, but I've been hearing
- 18:28Speaker 1: about it so much lately. And these rings are They're
- 18:32Speaker 1: gorgeous there. They are diamonds, They're just not mind diamonds,
- 18:36Speaker 1: which is great for you know the fact that a
- 18:41Speaker 1: lot of diamonds we don't know how they got on
- 18:44Speaker 1: our fenkers, you know what I mean? Right right for sure?
- 18:46Speaker 1: And I wish I would have known this before too,
- 18:48Speaker 1: because everyone talks about how expensive wedding planning is and
- 18:51Speaker 1: like weddings aren't general And now I spent that much
- 18:55Speaker 1: money on a truck, which I could have put towards
- 18:56Speaker 1: a wedding. But it's okay. Yeah, Well I'm sure he
- 18:58Speaker 1: loves his truck. He does. You guys are going to
- 19:03Speaker 1: change your last name when you do get married to Bell,
- 19:06Speaker 1: which is Dean's mom's last name. How did you come
- 19:09Speaker 1: up with that idea? Dean came up with it I
- 19:14Speaker 1: think a year a year or two ago. We were
- 19:16Speaker 1: with his family, and I think he mentioned it to
- 19:19Speaker 1: me first, and then he brought it up to his
- 19:21Speaker 1: brother he was about to get married. His brother loved
- 19:23Speaker 1: the idea. Send out their bells. His other brother got
- 19:27Speaker 1: married this past summer and they're also bills. So we're
- 19:30Speaker 1: the last ones. No way, that's so cool. That's really sweet.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That's a really sweet dedication to his mom um. So
- 19:38Speaker 1: you have obviously started wedding planning because you've been talking
- 19:41Speaker 1: about how expensive it is, and it is. It's very
- 19:44Speaker 1: very expensive. It's crazy, and it's the little things that
- 19:47Speaker 1: little details that will get you. Like audio, if you like,
- 19:50Speaker 1: choose a wedding venue that's not an act like your
- 19:53Speaker 1: traditional wedding venue, you'll need to pay for audio, You'll
- 19:56Speaker 1: need to pay for lighting, all these things that you
- 19:59Speaker 1: don't really think and those are like in the thousands.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It's so crazy. So what are you guys planning? Like
- 20:06Speaker 1: what kind of wedding? I can only imagine Dean getting
- 20:10Speaker 1: married outside. Yeah, yeah, it'll be outside in aspen Um,
- 20:16Speaker 1: which is he decided he wanted to get married and
- 20:18Speaker 1: asked when we were going to Elope in Italy. But
- 20:20Speaker 1: then he decided, we want our I guess we came
- 20:23Speaker 1: to the decision together. We want all our friends there.
- 20:25Speaker 1: But askedmen, it's like one of the most expensive places
- 20:28Speaker 1: to have a wedding. I've heard. Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It's so stressful. And there's one point. I started getting
- 20:35Speaker 1: quotes because everyone talks about it, but there's no real
- 20:37Speaker 1: transparency with it. They just say it's expensive and that's it.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And so then I started getting getting hit with numbers
- 20:44Speaker 1: and I got really overwhelmed, and then I decided I
- 20:47Speaker 1: didn't want to get married anymore. But so wait, why
- 20:53Speaker 1: not a little like you just said when you got
- 20:55Speaker 1: hit with numbers, you didn't want to Elope, Why can't
- 20:58Speaker 1: you do something like with a small amount of friends Antelope, Like,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I feel like an elopement can also be like a
- 21:08Speaker 1: mini wedding. Yeah. The problem is we're planning our engagement
- 21:12Speaker 1: party right now. In that I booked the venue. The
- 21:15Speaker 1: max is forty people, and already I'm like, we're going
- 21:18Speaker 1: to hurt so many people's sayings yes for the engagement party,
- 21:21Speaker 1: and that's because Dean has eighty friends that he needs
- 21:24Speaker 1: to invite, So I don't know, it's stressful. He is
- 21:28Speaker 1: a social butterfly. It is really hard and somebody's feelings
- 21:32Speaker 1: always get hurt when it comes to weddings, whether it's
- 21:34Speaker 1: bridesmaid selection or just the invites. Right, you guys had
- 21:50Speaker 1: like these rumors surrounding you that you had a wedding
- 21:55Speaker 1: in Europe years ago, or like some form of commitment ceremony.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Is that true, because now that the engagement has just
- 22:05Speaker 1: been such a big thing, it feels like you guys
- 22:08Speaker 1: really weren't married. No, we never were. He just likes
- 22:12Speaker 1: to say things and stir the pot. He got you
- 22:16Speaker 1: along with it too. You were all coy, I know,
- 22:20Speaker 1: because I never wanted to ruin his little thing. So
- 22:22Speaker 1: I was always like, yeah, maybe you guys are really
- 22:26Speaker 1: good actors. I was convinced. I was like, yeah, I
- 22:29Speaker 1: think they're married. It's just not legal. It's like a
- 22:32Speaker 1: committed thing, you know, like they're together for life. And
- 22:35Speaker 1: there was like some shaman situation in would never do that.
- 22:40Speaker 1: It's going to be hard to get him to show
- 22:41Speaker 1: up to the wedding. He would never do like a
- 22:43Speaker 1: commitment ceremony, He wouldn't. I don't think so. I could
- 22:47Speaker 1: never see him doing that. But I can't see him
- 22:49Speaker 1: signing legal documents, you know. But what's great is that
- 22:53Speaker 1: he has two older brothers and an older sister. Everyone's
- 22:56Speaker 1: married except for him. So like once he sees his
- 22:59Speaker 1: older siblings is doing things, then he's like, okay, I
- 23:02Speaker 1: could do it too. All right, Well, before we let
- 23:05Speaker 1: you go, we have got to talk about your new podcast.
- 23:09Speaker 1: So you love crime, So you have a new podcast
- 23:12Speaker 1: with my Heart Radio. It's called True Crime Reality, in
- 23:17Speaker 1: which you interview reality stars about crimes that they've gone through.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I was able to listen to the first episode, like
- 23:24Speaker 1: in person, when Ben Higgins discussed his hilarious encounter with
- 23:30Speaker 1: cocaine um in Miami as a teenager, and it's all
- 23:34Speaker 1: caught on like the show Cops or is it Cops
- 23:38Speaker 1: and something like that, and he has the most like
- 23:41Speaker 1: non Ben Higgins sign off. You have to listen just
- 23:44Speaker 1: for the quote that you can somehow find on the
- 23:48Speaker 1: internet out there of Ben Higgens Ben Higgins saying something
- 23:52Speaker 1: that is so not Ben Higgins. But anyway, Kalen, it's
- 23:56Speaker 1: your podcast, explain how handled and some of your special
- 24:02Speaker 1: guests so far. Yeah. So Ben Higgins was the very
- 24:05Speaker 1: first guest, and it couldn't have been better because, like
- 24:08Speaker 1: Ashley said, it was just such a non Ben's story. Um.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And so there are like some funny crime stories, but
- 24:15Speaker 1: then there are also serious stories. Um, we covered a murder,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and we this week we covered Graham Bund came on
- 24:24Speaker 1: and we talked about the Vegas shooting. So yeah, it's
- 24:28Speaker 1: like lighthearted sometimes and heavier other times. And I think
- 24:31Speaker 1: this week was amazing. This is the first time Graham
- 24:34Speaker 1: has ever talked about being in the Vegas shooting. He
- 24:36Speaker 1: was on stage when it happened and on stage, Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: he was like side stage, so he was on stage
- 24:44Speaker 1: but standing just to the side when it all started,
- 24:47Speaker 1: and he just like really went into detail, talked about
- 24:50Speaker 1: how he escaped and then he came back to try
- 24:52Speaker 1: and find his friend and really really really heartbreaking. Um.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And It's it's been interesting to just talk to so
- 25:00Speaker 1: many different people. I also talked to um Tara Newell
- 25:04Speaker 1: from Dirty John, who spoiler murdered Dirty John. So they're
- 25:10Speaker 1: just some crazy story podcasts. Oh he didn't. Yeah, And
- 25:14Speaker 1: I had just watched you know the you know, the
- 25:17Speaker 1: docuseries Dirty John. I was like a little stars back Brier.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, this is the same
- 25:22Speaker 1: girl with the same the voice. You know, it's crazy. Well,
- 25:27Speaker 1: speaking of wedding planning, I have a great place to
- 25:30Speaker 1: suggest for you, Kalin, or anyone planning a wedding. It's
- 25:35Speaker 1: tarrant Aa. We love Tarrania. Jared and I have stayed
