- 0:14Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:21These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. You're about to listen to a
- 0:42hypnosis session all about lifting the curse of
- 0:46unworthiness. I've been doing this way over a
- 0:50decade, seen thousands of clients.
- 0:51And one of the things that I've seen is that a lot of adults
- 0:55that feel unworthy or not good enough quite often had
- 0:59childhoods and upbringings where they had to earn love, earn
- 1:06validation. They were criticized frequently.
- 1:10And if they did something wrong, that was used as a weapon
- 1:14against them. If they didn't do what they were
- 1:16told, that was used against them.
- 1:18And the client that I work with in this session had that kind of
- 1:22upbringing. And what it meant is that into
- 1:25adulthood, they didn't really feel that they were worthy of
- 1:29healthy relationships. And therefore that made them
- 1:32more dependent on the toxic relationships that they had with
- 1:36their family, which created the very conditions that kept their
- 1:41worthiness low, that stopped them having healthy
- 1:44relationships. And it's not uncommon to see
- 1:47these self fulfilling prophecies.
- 1:49This uses a fairy tale metaphor of kingdoms and castles and Once
- 1:58Upon a time, you know, type of narratives.
- 2:02So that the fairy godmother in this metaphor is her current
- 2:07self going back seeing her childhood and seeing how a curse
- 2:12was almost like a spell was cast over a child and they started to
- 2:17believe things that weren't true.
- 2:20And then she gets to release and grant A wish to release this
- 2:25curse, to lift the curse. And that facilitated healthy
- 2:31relationships with mutual respect and consideration and
- 2:35kindness and healthy boundaries which are respected and
- 2:38understood, and that they felt worthy of that.
- 2:43And part of being worthy is also figuring out what you won't
- 2:47tolerate. If someone is disrespectful and
- 2:50deceitful and you allow them to continue to be a friend or a
- 2:55partner, you're kind of saying that you tolerate this and
- 2:59therefore you can expect more of it.
- 3:01So one of the key things that is absolutely essential for healthy
- 3:04relationships actually is healthy boundaries.
- 3:07And this covers both lifting the curse of the old belief systems,
- 3:11but feeling empowered to have these healthy boundaries and
- 3:15healthy boundaries doesn't mean you're a dictator and saying,
- 3:18right, you have to do this or I'm out.
- 3:20That isn't a healthy boundary. Healthy boundaries are
- 3:23communicated from a place of clarity.
- 3:26Hey, this is really important to me.
- 3:28What's important to you? You know, those kind of
- 3:30language. It doesn't have to be
- 3:33dictatorial. It can be very casual.
- 3:36But if you have a boundary or a need, that's absolutely
- 3:40important and someone disregards that and there is no
- 3:44consequence, Expect more of that thing that you want, and then
- 3:48you're no longer in a healthy relationship.
- 3:50You're in an unhealthy relationship, so if you couldn't
- 3:53connect or resonate with any of these concepts and ideas, you're
- 3:57probably going to get some value from this one.
- 3:59It was created for a client. They happen to be female.
- 4:02Some of those references are used in this hypnosis session.
- 4:05So if you like the idea of a bespoke session, check out a
- 4:10consultation call that you can schedule with me.
- 4:12The details for the consultation call are actually in the show
- 4:17notes, the description of this episode, so check that out.
- 4:20For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:23won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:26Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:00you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 5:07relaxation. And as you exhale, give
- 5:15permission to release all of that heavy draining emotions.
- 5:25You know the ones, the ones that have been holding you back,
- 5:35questioning yourself, questioning your value to
- 5:42breathe out those heavy emotions and breathe in a wonderful
- 5:47feeling of pure, distilled worthiness.
- 6:01And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel.
- 6:07And the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:20As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:33And I want you to think. Think of an old story book.
- 6:43Perhaps you could imagine finding a bookshelf filled with
- 6:50children's fairy tales. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 6:57a book with the title called The Curse.
- 7:07You just imagine picking up that book, opening it.
- 7:13And with every good children's fairy tale, there's pictures.
- 7:21And I wonder if you could imagine seeing a fairy tale
- 7:27castle in a fairy tale Kingdom and imagine what it would be
- 7:35like to float into the pages and discover a small child, perhaps
- 7:48just four or five years old. And I want you to imagine, I
- 7:57want to imagine that you in this story are a fairy godmother with
- 8:06magical powers. And I want you to go back and
- 8:11see that child, see the house they grew up in there within the
- 8:19Kingdom, what that child was told.
- 8:25How much love they received and what the love was unconditional
- 8:34or came with conditions like doing what they're told, not
- 8:42questioning, not being too demanding.
- 8:48And I want you to get a sense that that child was hearing
- 8:53things throughout their childhood.
- 8:58You can't trust anyone. You can't depend on anyone.
- 9:05You can only depend on me. Some people believe that words
- 9:12with emotion become spells. And what if those spells slowly,
- 9:22over time, created a curse? The curse of unworthiness, the
- 9:34curse of distrust, the curse of dependency.
- 9:42And I want you to see that child getting older, what they
- 9:51experienced to make this curse feel real.
- 9:56See what they were rewarded for and what they were punished for.
- 10:05I want you to get a sense then. It was almost inevitable this
- 10:13child would have been cursed. Because what if the curse was a
- 10:28belief? A belief that was never true,
- 10:34but the child grew up thinking that that belief was real?
- 10:46That they had to earn worthiness.
- 10:51They had to do things or be someone to receive love or
- 10:57affection. And I want you to see that child
- 11:07getting older, starting to defy that evil mother.
- 11:19And the moment they did, that mother that said you can trust
- 11:26me, you can count on me, suddenly took back that promise.
- 11:35The moment that they weren't willing to do what the evil
- 11:41mother was asking them to do, because the evil mother didn't
- 11:51want healthy boundaries, mutual respect, consideration, that
- 12:00mother wanted loyalty, obedience.
- 12:07That mother wanted the daughter to be subservient, to be weak.
- 12:20Because when they were weak, they could be controlled.
- 12:27And you've been watching all of this time as this fairy
- 12:34godmother invisible. And I want you to see see the
- 12:43time when that daughter leaves that Kingdom to find a new
- 12:52Kingdom, hoping that the curse will be lifted if they find a
- 13:00new place. And I want you to see that that
- 13:08child left the people but took the curse with them because the
- 13:17curse was the beliefs that they were trained to believe.
- 13:24But you're the fairy godmother. You follow the child into the
- 13:30new Kingdom, a Kingdom with more sunshine.
- 13:37And I want you to see that some of the things that happened
- 13:41before are repeating again, not through lack of intelligence,
- 13:49but simply because they are believing what they believed
- 13:55before. Creating a self fulfilling
- 13:59prophecy where they don't feel worthy to have boundaries, so
- 14:07boundaries get eroded, so self worth diminishes and they feel
- 14:13less able to communicate their needs.
- 14:19And this whole cycle continues. But you are the fairy godmother
- 14:29and you're willing to give a wish.
- 14:31And I want you to see that that child has become a woman.
- 14:40And I want you to ask, ask what they wish for more than anything
- 14:47else. And maybe all they want is not
- 14:54treasure. What they want are healthy
- 15:02relationships. Is that too much to ask?
- 15:11And of course, you, as the fairy godmother say not at all.
- 15:16I will grant your wish. Imagine waving that magic wand,
- 15:22seeing energy, magic and sparkles flow from the wand to
- 15:31the child that became a woman. See a glow of energy around
- 15:37them, and maybe they look like you look now, but see something
- 15:44change when the magic happens. Like a switch has been clicked,
- 15:55like a door has been opened, like a new idea has taken root.
- 16:04And then, as the fairy godmother, tell them you are now
- 16:11worthy and deserving of healthy relationships.
- 16:19Relationships that might be friendships, a romantic
- 16:24relationship, even a work relationship.
- 16:28But you are worthy of relationships that have mutual
- 16:32respect, healthy boundaries consideration you for them and
- 16:40them for you. And they also give you the power
- 16:46to communicate your boundaries, communicate your needs to be
- 16:51vulnerable and yet vigilant. It's true you can't trust
- 17:00everyone, but it's also true that you can't trust nobody.
- 17:09But it's better to trust and then re evaluate when people
- 17:14through actions and words prove unworthy of trust.
- 17:22That is, to give the benefit of the doubt and take that trust
- 17:26away when people aren't worthy of it, than to keep trusting
- 17:34when they've proved unworthy, or to never trust and therefore
- 17:40never know if they were worthy of that trust.
- 17:48Because people unworthy of trust will let you down with the small
- 17:54things before they let you down with the big things.
- 18:00And that's why one of your boundaries is that you don't
- 18:04want a relationship where you will be lied to or disrespected.
- 18:15And if you see it, your boundary is to make a decision that this
- 18:22is not a relationship that you desire.
- 18:31You can only do that if you feel worthy of healthy relationships.
- 18:38And here's the paradox. If you don't have any healthy
- 18:45relationships, you will crave an unhealthy relationship just to
- 18:52meet that human need. But when most of your
- 18:57relationships are healthy relationships, you won't
- 19:04tolerate disrespect, deceit, indifference, manipulation.
- 19:17Why would you? Someone that's starving will eat
- 19:21rotten food. Someone well fed will turn down
- 19:29food simply because they're not hungry.
- 19:37When you feel like you don't need it, then you can decide if
- 19:42you want it. And if from the perspective of
- 19:47that fairy godmother, you can see that the curse has been
- 19:52lifted, that they are now worthy of healthy relationships.
- 19:59Let me know by nodding your head and I want you to see what that
- 20:10looks like in their future. Being worthy of healthy
- 20:17relationships means having a standard that you refuse to
- 20:24accept. Unhealthy relationships.
- 20:30Bad things happen to good people.
- 20:35You get what you tolerate, not what you deserve.
- 20:39And I want you to see that version of you where the curse
- 20:42has been lifted with more confidence, more self esteem,
- 20:48higher standards, and a refusal to beg for the crumbs.
- 20:56You'll either find what you're looking for or you're happy to
- 21:00keep looking. And when you see that version of
- 21:05you, see it in your personal life, friendships, a romantic
- 21:14relationship, see it in your work life, You no longer
- 21:19tolerate disrespect, indifference from colleagues,
- 21:25see it in your family, those that are considerate,
- 21:32respectful. You invest in those
- 21:35relationships and those that prove uncapable of doing that.
- 21:43Your boundary is to create distance.
- 21:47Distance in location, distance in time, distance in
- 21:52communication channels. It's simply harder to connect
- 21:58with you if you've decided this is not a relationship that can
- 22:05be healthy for you. It's your criteria, no one
- 22:11else's. And then shift perspective from
- 22:16the fairy godmother into that version of you where the curse
- 22:22has been lifted. And imagine you're no longer in
- 22:26this fairy tale Kingdom. You're in your reality, but
- 22:31still feel that the curse has been lifted.
- 22:36And imagine now what you will or will not tolerate in a friend,
- 22:44in a partner, in a colleague, in a family member, and think back
- 22:58when the curse was there, how much you did accept.
- 23:04And now the curse is lifted what you refuse to accept.
- 23:12And the curse is lifted because you no longer believe what you
- 23:17were told as a child. That's why it doesn't work
- 23:21anymore. You can hear the words, but the
- 23:27wires have been snipped. It simply doesn't trigger you in
- 23:33the way that it used to. If anything, it makes you smile.
- 23:40You see what they're doing. These cult like techniques don't
- 23:48work. The moment you know what those
- 23:52techniques are, it's time to leave this fairy tale.
- 23:59But leave the curse way behind. You're different now.
- 24:07A wonderful door has been opened to wonderful new, healthy
- 24:12relationships because you are worthy of them, deserving of
- 24:17them, and are no willing to tolerate anything less than a
- 24:24healthy relationship. So as you float back through the
- 24:30pages of a fairy tale back into the present, take a deep breath
- 24:34in through your nose and out through your nose.
- 24:40Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 24:43Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I count from
- 24:481:00 to 10:00 to awaken you. Starting to count. 123 waking up
- 24:57456 more alert. 7-8 open your eyes.
- 25:01Open your eyes, 910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 25:08awake. Thank you so much for joining me
