- 0:00God forbid a girl performs in LA.
- 0:02God forbid a girl puts out her feelings like that's all I'm
- 0:04feeling right now. He threw a drink on me and it
- 0:07went right in between me and my guitar player.
- 0:09And in my delusion, I was like, oh, a drink just came on stage
- 0:12and it was really hot. And I was like, oh, was he
- 0:15cooling me down, trying to cool me down 'cause he thinks I'm
- 0:18like hot. Or maybe he thinks I'm like good
- 0:19looking. That's that was my first
- 0:22looking. That's the.
- 0:23I was like, oh, I'm, does he think I'm hot?
- 0:25So he's like cooling me down, Like, like he's kidding on me.
- 0:28Yeah. Hello Lulu Lulu's and welcome
- 0:48back to Delulu with Ryan Liu. Today's guesty can turn
- 0:51heartbreak into fucking bangers and I'm so excited to talk to
- 0:55her about all of that and get into the Lolo lore lore.
- 0:59And our. Guest is Lolo.
- 1:01Hi, thank you so much for being here.
- 1:03Thank. You so much for having me.
- 1:04I love your podcast. Oh my God, thank you.
- 1:06I'm so excited to have you. So for all the delulus out there
- 1:10who watched Leah Kate's episode, Leah actually called Lolo on the
- 1:13show. She didn't answer, but now she
- 1:15is here. Because I was filming a music
- 1:17video, I had a good excuse. OK, good excuse.
- 1:19Not good enough for Leah. But no, it actually wasn't good
- 1:22enough. It's OK, you're, you're now.
- 1:24So we're going to do all the catching up that, you know, we
- 1:26missed out on on Leah's episode. But how are you?
- 1:29I'm so good. I'm in the midst of this
- 1:31craziness. Grammy week right now.
- 1:33Yeah, which is crazy. Lots going on, lots of like
- 1:36events and stuff, but it's. So fun.
- 1:38Do you like going to events? I do.
- 1:39It's just like a lot of it's just a lot.
- 1:42And I recently had vocal cord surgery.
- 1:45Yeah, because I had a vocal polyp, so I'm just getting into
- 1:47talking again. So it's like I just became
- 1:49allowed to speak again and now it's like I'm going to like 3
- 1:51events a day and there's so much speaking.
- 1:53Yeah, I don't know. No, now I'm on a podcast.
- 1:56I'm really like not taking it slow but here we go.
- 1:58OK, well, we can, we can talk, you know, light and low.
- 2:02For Oh no, don't worry, like this is my new voice up here
- 2:04because my natural voice used to be like down here.
- 2:06Your new voice. But my new voice is here.
- 2:08How? Do you feel about your new
- 2:09voice? I like it.
- 2:12I think that people, yeah, well, I have to change it.
- 2:15Like if I'm not paying attention and like my mom calls, I could
- 2:18like go back to down here. But people that don't know me
- 2:21think it sounds normal, which is good.
- 2:23Yeah. I wouldn't want people to be
- 2:24like, yeah, why are you sounding like that?
- 2:26So this is, this is how I'm supposed to sound.
- 2:28So. So are you like feeling more
- 2:29familiar with it now? Like how long has it been since
- 2:31you? Developed.
- 2:32Yeah, yeah. Like I've been starting to try
- 2:37to talk since like the beginning of January.
- 2:39So yeah, OK, it's it's relatively new, but also like
- 2:42comfy now. Yeah, good.
- 2:44I mean, like you said, I totally didn't clock that at all.
- 2:47And now we're going to do a little yapping on here.
- 2:49Yeah. OK, well, I want to get into all
- 2:50of the Lolo lower lore. So where is Lolo from?
- 2:53How did you get to LA? What's going on?
- 2:56So lolo, me, I am from Toronto. OK, Yeah, I first came to LA for
- 3:02like a big chunk of time after I signed to APG for publishing.
- 3:06Thank you. Which was in 2020 at the time.
- 3:10Well, it, I signed in Christmas 2020, but it was like peak
- 3:12COVID. My mom's like there's no chance
- 3:15you are flying to LA right now. And it was like, you know, it
- 3:18was just, it was like a like peak like we were still washing
- 3:22our groceries. I don't know if you guys were
- 3:23ever doing that in LA, but like it was like it was really
- 3:26intense in Canada. Like my hair actually grew down
- 3:29to my ass because you couldn't get a haircut, couldn't get your
- 3:31nails done. My.
- 3:32Hair was so wild in the pandemic.
- 3:34Too. Yeah, it was crazy.
- 3:36So then I ended up finally going in April of 2021, right?
- 3:42It lightened up because it lightened up.
- 3:43And at that point, you guys had the vaccine and we didn't.
- 3:46And my mom was like, go, go get the vaccine.
- 3:48I remember I took a picture of my vaccine card and everyone was
- 3:51like, whoa, you have a vaccine card like from Canada?
- 3:53Because I think our Prime Minister just like, forgot to
- 3:56order it or something like, well, yeah, it's no big.
- 3:58Deal no. Big deal though, but I got it.
- 4:01I felt really cool. But yeah, then I came to Lai was
- 4:03supposed to just be for two weeks, but then I just like, I
- 4:05loved it and I ended up staying for three months, Yeah.
- 4:08And then I was like, okay, I need to.
- 4:10You came to sign. Here half the time, yeah, I
- 4:12signed in my room on Zoom. Got it.
- 4:14But I came because APG was like, you need to start doing sessions
- 4:17and stuff we're gonna put you in songwriting sessions, right?
- 4:21And then I just loved it so much.
- 4:22And there was so much going on. I was meeting so many other
- 4:25songwriters, producer, I was working on my own artist
- 4:27projects, so doing the circuit. And so I was like, I have to be
- 4:30here. And then I didn't end up
- 4:32actually going home until I got my first tour.
- 4:35And then I was like, I have to go home to rehearse.
- 4:36So that was the only reason. I How crazy.
- 4:38So you came out to LA and then you ended up staying?
- 4:40Yeah, pretty much. I still go back and forth.
- 4:43Yeah, you were just there, right?
- 4:45I was just there, Yeah, I did my surgery and everything there
- 4:47because free healthcare. No.
- 4:50OK, so no vaccine at the time, but free no?
- 4:51Vaccine free healthcare, it's like, you know, you pick and
- 4:54choose, right? Yeah, so.
- 4:56OK that's super cool. Wait so did you sign before like
- 4:59blowing up on TikTok or was it like happening?
- 5:02At the same time, yeah, that's actually kind of what happened.
- 5:04So basically I was on, I'm so dumb because I was on TikTok
- 5:08literally a year before, yeah, when it first came out or when
- 5:11it first became TikTok, right. And I put up, I remember I put
- 5:14up 1 singing video, but I was like, and I right away got a lot
- 5:16of likes and I was like, oh, what is this?
- 5:18And no one's really using it. And I deleted the video and the
- 5:22app. I don't know.
- 5:23I don't know. And then by the time it was
- 5:26popping again, it was more popular.
- 5:27So for dancing and stuff. So start dancing on it.
- 5:30Not really getting a lot of views.
- 5:31I'm a terrible dancer. Same.
- 5:32You can scroll. My fans always will.
- 5:34They'll do memes with me, dance like the old videos.
- 5:38It's so embarrassing. Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:40And then I started singing because that trend of like, hey
- 5:45there, Delilah, hey, it's Delilah.
- 5:47Like from the other point of view I.
- 5:48Don't remember that trend. I remember that.
- 5:49One, yeah. So I was like, oh, I'll do this.
- 5:51And then instead of like 200 views, I got right away, like
- 5:54200,000 and I was like, oh, I guess I should be singing on
- 5:57this thing, not dancing. And then I realized there's tons
- 6:00of different songs that I could switch the point of view from
- 6:03and make it really depressing, which is kind of my favorite
- 6:06thing to write. We know.
- 6:07Yeah, Yeah. And then I guess the head of ABG
- 6:12saw my videos. And I conveniently also.
- 6:16I'm a perfectionist and I made them rhyme and be phonetically
- 6:19perfect with the original, but it was the other point of view
- 6:23and. That detail Orient like being
- 6:25that detail oriented is good though.
- 6:26And then so I ended up. Because that's a really big
- 6:28skill as a songwriter, like, you know what I mean?
- 6:30Like being able to pay attention to.
- 6:31That a lot of times, like I know a lot of songwriters are totally
- 6:35against this, but a lot of times at APG they kind of like just
- 6:39have like beats and like a melody already done, but it's
- 6:43gibberish. And they just want you to put
- 6:45like, they're like, this melody is already ahead, but just write
- 6:48the lyric but don't change the the syllables.
- 6:51And so I guess they saw me doing that and they were like, oh, she
- 6:54can do this. Interesting.
- 6:56So yeah, I signed there and I was like, literally the best
- 6:58thing. I love APG.
- 7:00Yeah. It's given me so many
- 7:01opportunities, so. Is that mainly how you write
- 7:03like you when they'll they'll give you a track that's like top
- 7:06line and you do the lyrics then for when they're presenting to
- 7:09me? When they're presenting it to me
- 7:10like that, yeah, I'm like one of their lyric people and they have
- 7:12like melody people too. But like, obviously I do both.
- 7:16It's not my favorite way to write because I find it a little
- 7:19like uninspiring. Sometimes like, I like you kind
- 7:21of like. Write a song from scratch.
- 7:23Yeah, so that's how I prefer to write.
- 7:26But like it's good. Like when I'm in Toronto and
- 7:28stuff and I can't be in sessions and they just send me tracks and
- 7:30I'm. Like I can just.
- 7:31Do this in my room, yeah. 100%, That's super cool.
- 7:33Congratulations. Yeah.
- 7:34And you've been with them since then, too.
- 7:36This was like 2020 then. Yeah.
- 7:38Oh my gosh. And really quick shout out to my
- 7:40publicist Charlie's boyfriend. He just signed up APG.
- 7:42Shout out, Leo. Yeah.
- 7:44Congrats to all of you. Wait, that's so awesome.
- 7:46And then you end up just staying in LA.
- 7:48Yeah, back and forth. But like, yeah.
- 7:50So then like, did you know you always wanted to be an artist?
- 7:53Like growing up, that's something you wanted to do
- 7:54because then, you know, you were on TikTok and you were doing the
- 7:56dancing thing. Yeah, I don't know why I was
- 7:58doing that. Like I think we.
- 7:59All were. I was also dancing on TikTok in
- 8:0120 and 20. Oh my God.
- 8:03Everyone wanted to be like the Demilios, yeah.
- 8:05I did too yeah. No one scrolled back on my
- 8:07TikTok please. No.
- 8:09Yeah, I always wanted to be. Well, my dream used to be to be
- 8:12on Broadway. Really.
- 8:13Yeah. I was like a musical theater.
- 8:14Well, when I was a kid, my grandfather showed me all, like
- 8:17the Shirley Temple videos. Yeah.
- 8:19And my natural hair is really curly and it was short, so I
- 8:22literally looked like Shirley Temple slash Little Orphan
- 8:24Annie. Yeah, but with.
- 8:25Brown like cast me. Yeah, like cast me.
- 8:28And so I wanted to be Shirley Temple and I was obsessed with
- 8:31the videos and I told my mom put me in tap dancing classes,
- 8:35acting classes and singing. And then so I was doing all that
- 8:38and I really wanted to be musical theater.
- 8:40But then I, I picked up guitar actually because my sister, I
- 8:45was away at sleepover camp and my sister learned guitar in like
- 8:48a month. And I was like, what the fuck?
- 8:49She learned it so fast. She's a prodigy.
- 8:51If she could do that, I can do that.
- 8:53And I was a little competitive with her.
- 8:54And then so I started guitar. And then my guitar teacher was
- 8:57like, you should write songs. And I was like, absolutely not.
- 9:00That would be insane really. The thought of other people
- 9:03hearing my deep, dark, innermost thoughts.
- 9:06I was like. And what we are now.
- 9:08No, it's like too much now. I'm an overshare.
- 9:11Now you're like, actually I should not be talking.
- 9:13About this now I'm like a chronic overshare and it's crazy
- 9:16I think about like little me would be so embarrassed of me
- 9:19that's. What makes you a great artist
- 9:21though? Yeah, 100%.
- 9:22I think it's like the only way to do it A.
- 9:24Million percent I completely. Agree.
- 9:25That's why I started. I wrote one song and I loved it
- 9:28and I was like that moment. I literally remember where I was
- 9:30sitting on my bed in my old house and I was like, fuck
- 9:33Broadway. I want to be, I want to be a, a
- 9:37songwriter and a like, I want to be an artist.
- 9:40And thank God, because I don't think I have the stamina for
- 9:43Broadway. Like, well, you know what, I
- 9:45feel like you have a lot of like Broadway influence in your art.
- 9:48Anyways, in my. Art.
- 9:50Movie like influence and references and actually, yeah,
- 9:53I'm talking like right now you do.
- 9:55So it's kind of like you are doing it.
- 9:57Exactly, I feel. Like that's what.
- 9:58I'm on your turn. That's what I I'm a theatre kid
- 10:00at heart like and that I feel like is where like you.
- 10:04Probably love performing then. Yeah, Oh my God, I love
- 10:06performing and my whole like set of my first headline tour, I was
- 10:10so excited to put that together because I, you could really tell
- 10:12I'm a theatre kid when you watch my show, like.
- 10:15Oh yeah, it's. Like a whole.
- 10:16Thing it's like a world so I'm excited to see what you're going
- 10:18to do with the upcoming tour. We'll talk about it but like you
- 10:21really do take it there. Thank you.
- 10:23That's super cool. And the influences that you have
- 10:25in your music, like I feel like, yeah, we can tell, like you are
- 10:28into the theatrics of it and like, you know, the movies and
- 10:32everything. But I think when it comes to
- 10:35performing, do you ever feel like you like performing more
- 10:38than making the music, being in the studio writing?
- 10:41Like what do you like better? It's so funny because whenever
- 10:44I'm performing, I'm always like, Oh my God, I love this so much
- 10:48better. Like this is like, this is the
- 10:50fucking. This is the time to be alive.
- 10:52Like I love this. And then when I'm writing and
- 10:55making my album, I'm always like, God, the thought of going
- 10:58on tour right now, like, I love doing this.
- 11:00I love being in the studio. So.
- 11:01So you love both? Yeah, I love both.
- 11:03Literally during COVID when I was first starting to write,
- 11:05yeah, I was getting a lot of good opportunities and stuff.
- 11:07And I was like, maybe I'll just be a songwriter.
- 11:09Like maybe I won't be an artist. Like, And I thought about not
- 11:13being an artist and just going like gun ho into being a
- 11:16songwriter. Because sometimes I feel like,
- 11:17because I do both for other artists and for myself.
- 11:20And sometimes I feel like if I just put all my energy into
- 11:22being an artist, maybe I'd be further in my career.
- 11:25And then sometimes I think maybe if I just put all my my energy
- 11:27into being a songwriter, then I'd be further in that.
- 11:29And it's, it's really hard to balance the 2 for sure.
- 11:33But at the time, yeah, I was like, oh, maybe I'll just be a
- 11:35songwriter. But then I got the opportunity
- 11:37to go my first tour ever. And then again, I was on stage
- 11:39and I was like, this is amazing. Like, fuck being just a
- 11:43songwriter. I need to be a performer.
- 11:45Absolutely. Yeah.
- 11:46So I I go back and forth. I love both equally.
- 11:50Between being a songwriter, being an artist, where?
- 11:52Which one would you rather do right now?
- 11:53Like you can only do 1. Right now I'm in my artist mode
- 11:56for sure. I think when I first came.
- 11:58Here I had a girl wants to be an artist.
- 12:00Yeah, yeah, I'm in my artist mode.
- 12:02Yeah. And it's funny because I know
- 12:04that I'm like giving less time to doing songwriting and stuff.
- 12:07And sometimes my publisher gets mad at me.
- 12:09I can tell. But enough for them.
- 12:12I'm like, you know what? Like you're only young and hot.
- 12:14Once I was like, I was like, I'll be a songwriter like after
- 12:18like there's but I feel like, which is a sad reality, but I
- 12:22feel like there's a time to be an artist and like, obviously
- 12:26when you're older, you can be an artist.
- 12:27But like, I feel like while I'm young, I want to be an artist
- 12:30now. And then I could songwriting.
- 12:32Like I'm never going to not be able to songwrite.
- 12:34But you know what, maybe one day I'm going to like want to have a
- 12:37baby and like not want to travel on a tour bus.
- 12:40Yeah. So that's why I'm kind of just
- 12:41like, I'm going to focus on being an artist now.
- 12:43You know what I always tell myself is like right now, while
- 12:46I'm in my 20s, I want to be in front of a camera.
- 12:48I want to be performing. But then when I'm in my 30s or
- 12:5140s or whatever, like then I would want to do more behind the
- 12:53scenes stuff, you know, like more producing things or like
- 12:55writing and whatever. Like when I'm tired of like
- 12:57being in front of the lights, that's when I would want to do
- 12:59it. And you're so right about like
- 13:01being young and hot, like now, because I talk about with my
- 13:04friends all the time, especially with women in music and pop
- 13:07music. Like it sucks, but there's so
- 13:09much ageism. It's so fucked.
- 13:11Up it's terrible. It's terrible.
- 13:13And like, if you aren't like, looking like, I don't know, a
- 13:17brand new fucking baby or whatever, it's just like, it's
- 13:19so much harder to get off there. Yeah, I think you're doing the
- 13:22right thing right now too. And you can songwrite whenever
- 13:24as well. Yeah, yeah, exactly, 100%.
- 13:27Yeah, there's no rush for that. So now when you're writing for
- 13:30other artists, what are some songs that you've had cuts for?
- 13:35The songs I get, well, I've written for Maggie Lindemann.
- 13:37Oh yeah, that's what I song for. Yeah, that's how I got her on my
- 13:40song, because I was like writing with her and then became friends
- 13:42with her. I've written a couple songs for
- 13:45Ava Max. Wait, really?
- 13:46Yeah. Do I know any?
- 13:47Spot of fake, which is one of, like, the new ones, Yeah.
- 13:50And then skin in the game and these are all new ones.
- 13:54Yeah. And what was the other one?
- 13:56Oh, world's smallest violin. OK, OK.
- 13:58All from. The new album.
- 13:59All from the new album, Yeah. That's awesome.
- 14:01Yeah, thank you. And then this other song that
- 14:03went like #1 on alternative radio a couple years ago called
- 14:06Runaway to Mars by Talk, which I feel like if you heard it, you
- 14:10would know it. But it's a really like the genre
- 14:13I listen to. But like, that's so sad.
- 14:15You would like I'll I'll play it for you really, OK.
- 14:17OK. I'm excited.
- 14:17Is it like? Everyone likes it.
- 14:18Pardon. Is it like your music?
- 14:20It's like a it's a sad, depressing song.
- 14:22I'm gonna love it then. Yeah, OK.
- 14:23I love that. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:25But it did really well. It got like it's over 100
- 14:27million streams like. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 14:30I'm gagged. Yeah, and it was on the radio.
- 14:31It was #1 on alternative radio here in the state.
- 14:34Damn. That's why she.
- 14:35Was like, let's get you back. Every yeah, like get back in.
- 14:38No, I I do love it and I'm excited for myself to have like
- 14:43a moment like that because I'm manifesting.
- 14:46We're manifesting and absolutely.
- 14:48And I feel like, honestly, it's already coming.
- 14:50Yeah. This album's like just getting
- 14:51started. Yeah.
- 14:52Well, before we get into your next album, I want to talk a
- 14:55little bit about your debut, Falling for Robots and Wishing I
- 14:58Was 1. So you've talked about this
- 15:00being a concept album. Can you explain that and walk us
- 15:02through that? Yeah, well, so basically the
- 15:05concept of falling for robots and wishing I was one, basically
- 15:08every song on the album is either about falling for robots
- 15:12or wishing I was one, which is basically like falling for
- 15:15people who I felt like were emotionally numb or like, you
- 15:19know, just like fucking assholes, like just people that
- 15:22didn't care, I guess. Oops, sorry.
- 15:24I guess like avoidance and like, you know, that whole thing.
- 15:26And then at the same time being like, you know, fuck them for
- 15:30being like that, but at the same time being like, I wish I could
- 15:33be like that, which I'm so emotional.
- 15:35I feel so much to the point where sometimes it's like a
- 15:37sometimes I'm like, why am I feeling so much?
- 15:40And maybe I'm overly sensitive and, you know, I wish I wasn't
- 15:43like that. Yeah, I so relate to that.
- 15:46Yeah, it's crazy. I also feel like I used to feel
- 15:48that way too. I was like, I feel like I'd
- 15:50rather feel nothing, you know, being the robot versus like,
- 15:53feeling everything intensely because I'm so emotional and I'm
- 15:57like, so like, you know, everything's like, dramatic to
- 16:00me. Yeah, me too.
- 16:01I feel like we're the same. We are literally and I.
- 16:04I feel that. We'll get into that too, because
- 16:06I you have other songs where I'm like, oh, you're me.
- 16:07Yeah. But that's what makes you a
- 16:09great artist. Like we said earlier, like I
- 16:11think feeling things and feeling them, like really like
- 16:13confidently in being bold in and also sharing that that's such a
- 16:16superpower. Yeah, I sometimes I get in
- 16:18trouble for it, but. Me too girl Oh my God yeah I'm
- 16:22also like a big over sharer so like yeah I honestly I think I
- 16:26say way too much all the time and I always.
- 16:28Me too. I was And then the next morning
- 16:30you're like. Oh my God, every day I wake up
- 16:32in the morning like what did I do or say?
- 16:34Why did I say, Oh my God, is that like, is that it?
- 16:36Was that crazy? Is that person gonna think I'm
- 16:38crazy? Yeah.
- 16:39Yeah, exactly. And you know what?
- 16:40You know what I just started doing?
- 16:41I just started owning it. I was like, you know what?
- 16:43Fuck it. Like I'm crazy, I'm crazy,
- 16:44whatever. Yeah.
- 16:45Like it is what it is. Yeah, at least we're not boring.
- 16:48That's one of my lyrics. No way.
- 16:49Yeah. And one of my songs, I said in
- 16:51my pre chorus, I said call me. I said call me crazy.
- 16:54Just not boring. There.
- 16:56You go OK, shout out glimpse. Thank you.
- 17:00Oh my God, that's made me for as long.
- 17:02So tell us about making this debut album then.
- 17:04You and the Tin Man. You and the Tin Man.
- 17:05That was the first song that I wrote for the album, but I
- 17:08didn't know at the time that it was for the album.
- 17:10At the time I was writing for my EP Overkill, I think.
- 17:14Or no Debbie Downer. Or maybe Overkill.
- 17:17Actually, yeah. At the time I was writing for my
- 17:19EP Overkill My my first EP with Hopeless Records, and I wrote
- 17:23that song and I was looking for just like a ballad to be at the
- 17:26end of, you know, at the end of the EP.
- 17:28I always like when it ends with like a sad song.
- 17:30Talking to. Yeah, like, you know, like Green
- 17:32Day ends with time of your life. Like you love Green Day.
- 17:35Yeah. So huge influence.
- 17:36Yeah. But a lot of people do that and
- 17:39I love it. Me too.
- 17:41But yeah, so I wrote that and I was like, I'm not just throwing
- 17:43this song like at the end of my EPI feel like it's like we're.
- 17:47Gonna do this album. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 17:49I was like, it's a whole world. Like I just felt like I wasn't
- 17:52ready to put it out yet. And so I kind of like put it in
- 17:55my back pocket. Continued writing.
- 17:57You know, Special. Yeah, put that EP out.
- 17:59Then I had another EP and I always kind of had you and the
- 18:01Tin Man in my back pocket. Then about like a year later,
- 18:05maybe even a year and a half or two years, I forget, but I wrote
- 18:08the song Wish I Was a Robot about feeling things too much
- 18:12and worrying and anxiety and all this stuff.
- 18:14And I was like, oh, this is kind of funny.
- 18:17Like 2 years ago or a year ago, whatever I wrote about, you
- 18:21know, hating on this guy for being a robot.
- 18:23And now I'm wishing I was one. Like what?
- 18:26This is so crazy. What a weird thing.
- 18:28And then immediately I wrote down on my phone falling for
- 18:31robots and wishing I was 1. And then after I wrote that, it
- 18:34was so easy to write the rest of the songs because I was like,
- 18:36this is the concept and I need to just like fill in the rest of
- 18:40my life essentially. And all the things that happened
- 18:42to me that fall in between this. And so it was really easy.
- 18:45But my point being, it was like a three-year writing process by
- 18:48the time from when I wrote the first song to the last song
- 18:51song. And then this album is really
- 18:56scary because it's like, OK, girl, you have one year, you're
- 18:59signing a record deal and we want it out.
- 19:02By when did I sign? I think it's less than a year.
- 19:05Yeah, I signed in the summer. Oh my gosh, Congrats.
- 19:08I think or maybe last spring, yeah, maybe it's a year.
- 19:11Deadline. Yeah, well, they were like, we'd
- 19:13like to put the album out in April and I'm like.
- 19:16Then I guess an albums coming out in April.
- 19:18Yeah, I was like, oh, I guess I better start fucking writing
- 19:21then like crazy. So it's completely different.
- 19:24You had way more time on your debut.
- 19:25Way more. You had a deadline for yourself.
- 19:28No, I I didn't know when I was putting out the album.
- 19:30So it's like that's what they always say though.
- 19:32You have your whole life to write your debut and then one
- 19:33year to write your sophomore. Damn, wait, I'm gonna sit with
- 19:36that. I've heard that before.
- 19:37I haven't heard it recently because I'm like, I'm writing my
- 19:40debut right now. Yeah, enjoy.
- 19:43It it has been actual hell. Yeah, well, I, I also, I am so
- 19:48obsessed with my debut album. You should thank you.
- 19:51I think it's the most important album in, like any artist's,
- 19:54yeah. I'm.
- 19:55Really. And I, I feel like I feel so bad
- 19:56because I talk about it with my friends all the time and I'm
- 19:58like, you, you want to get it right.
- 20:00You really want to get it right. And of course you're going to
- 20:02evolve and like that. But I wouldn't want to listen to
- 20:04like my first album for the rest of my life.
- 20:06Hopefully you know. Yeah, no, yeah, you, you, you
- 20:08want to. And that, that.
- 20:09But I was so obsessed with it, so obsessed with the art, that
- 20:12it was really hard making this album because I was like, I need
- 20:16it to be either better or at least.
- 20:18The same. I only have the pressure and.
- 20:20But you're putting it on yourself.
- 20:21Yes, because I loved the first one so much that I was like
- 20:25this. You know, if until I love it the
- 20:27same, I can't put this out like until I love the songs the same
- 20:31that I loved on the first one. And it was just also so hard
- 20:34because the first one was such a concept and the second one
- 20:37actually is also like the whole concept of God Forbid Girls puts
- 20:40out her feelings, which I can explain when we talk about the
- 20:42album, but it definitely it was harder to get there for sure, I
- 20:48think. And you really had less time
- 20:49too. And so and I was stressed, I
- 20:51wasn't stressed during my first album.
- 20:54And also I started having vocal issues while finishing this
- 20:57album. So like this album has 13 tracks
- 21:00but I wanted it to be 15 but I just like wasn't able to sing
- 21:03anymore. Maybe like God forbid a girl
- 21:06puts out a deluxe. That's literally I want to call
- 21:09it. God forbid a girl spits out more
- 21:11of her feelings. We I love that.
- 21:13We I'm sorry if we weep that. No, it's OK.
- 21:15I, I, it's I, I don't even know if I mean no, I'm doing a deluxe
- 21:20100 percent, 100%. It's not a leak because I've,
- 21:22I've said before, like I didn't get to finish it exactly how I
- 21:26wanted. And don't get me wrong, it's
- 21:28definitely cohesive. It's great.
- 21:29But I just, I wanted to put a little more, a few more tracks
- 21:32in at least. And you still can.
- 21:33Yeah, and I'm I'm going to you still.
- 21:35Can and so you're working on that right now with this album
- 21:37cycle. You finished the album, yeah,
- 21:39but you're going to work on putting.
- 21:40Out. Yeah.
- 21:40Well, so one song actually that almost made the album that's
- 21:43called Pretty Little Wreck. I already leaked that in my
- 21:45Discord, so I don't care to say it.
- 21:48It was almost on, but I just like couldn't finish it in time
- 21:51because of my voice and all this stuff and.
- 21:53But I really wanted that song to be on the album.
- 21:56Would you have considered like maybe being like, you know, hey,
- 21:59can we like delay it a little bit just so we could finish?
- 22:01It so like that's exactly what I asked, but the problem is I'm
- 22:04going on tour. Oh, that's.
- 22:06The album needed to come out before a tour and I couldn't, I
- 22:09couldn't delay the tour because it was already booked so.
- 22:11I just had this exact conversation this morning
- 22:13driving to set where I was talking to my manager and I was
- 22:16like, I want to go on this tour but I don't think I'll have
- 22:18music out by then. And then he was like, we should
- 22:19just focus on making the music. And I was like or, or if I
- 22:22booked the tour then I could just like force.
- 22:25Is it an opening slot or is it an opening?
- 22:27So you could do it, I think, yeah.
- 22:29Well, you think so? Yeah, it'd be in June.
- 22:31You have no music out, not when. 00 music out right now, yeah.
- 22:35Can you put music out before June?
- 22:37I could, but then I just, I'm scared to rush it because I'm
- 22:40hoping this is a debut, you know, like a debut album, you
- 22:42know what I mean? So I'm like, I don't want to
- 22:44rush in. That's why I was thinking I was
- 22:45like, do I want to rush to art? But at the same time, it's like,
- 22:47I think that'd be such a good. Yeah, well.
- 22:49Maybe you could put it one single or something.
- 22:51I think I will. I think so.
- 22:53We're talking about, we're hoping May.
- 22:55So between making this past album, your first album, your
- 22:58debut, and making this one, you know, with these sessions for
- 23:02this new album within this past year, you knew you were writing
- 23:05this album like everything you're doing was going to be
- 23:07towards this album. Yes and no.
- 23:09Some of the songs that are on the album I wrote like a year
- 23:14ago. Over a year ago.
- 23:17No, maybe a year ago, But like when I was when I was writing
- 23:20for my deluxe for Falling for Robots, Yeah.
- 23:23And then some. I just wrote in between before I
- 23:26was signed and then after the album.
- 23:28So I didn't know what it was for, but I was just like, I'm
- 23:31writing songs. Yeah, I mean, as an artist,
- 23:33you're going to be writing either.
- 23:34Way yeah, so and I think you could definitely tell like on
- 23:37the album, there's a few I I, I think like.
- 23:40So my last album I worked all with one producer.
- 23:43Oh I love. That the whole thing, Yeah.
- 23:44I thought it was great. I thought it was amazing.
- 23:47That's low key my preference. Yeah, it was great because I
- 23:49felt like everything was really cohesive.
- 23:51And then this time, yes, this time I worked with a a new
- 23:55producer in LA His name's Andrew Goldstein.
- 23:57Amazing. And Oh my.
- 23:58God, I love Andrew. He did Bridget Mendler's album
- 24:00in 2012. Oh my God, huge.
- 24:02Every time I walk into a studio and I see Ready or Not the flag
- 24:07I'm like Oh yeah I forgot him with actual royalty.
- 24:09Right now, so talented that is so.
- 24:11Funny that you sleep a lot too, yeah?
- 24:13Yes. Oh my God.
- 24:14Yes. Yeah, that's right.
- 24:15Yeah. He's incredible.
- 24:16Shadow, Andrew. Yeah, yeah, Andrew, But yeah.
- 24:19And I think you can tell which songs that I did with him and
- 24:22which songs that I did with interesting.
- 24:24My Nashville producer, Mike Robinson.
- 24:26Amazing. And he did the first album.
- 24:28He did the first album, yeah. Oh my gosh, Like I love that
- 24:30you're transparent about that because in my thing right now as
- 24:33I'm making my project is I really wanted to be cohesive and
- 24:36I'm having like something similar to where I'm like I was
- 24:38telling my team, I'm like, I feel like you can hear that
- 24:40these are different producers. But I think The thing is that
- 24:42still keeps it cohesive because I was like, I remember I sent it
- 24:46to my managers, everyone being like, is this a cohesive?
- 24:48Is this a cohesive? Like just making sure and
- 24:50everyone's like, you are what makes a cohesive you, your
- 24:52lyrics, your vibe. So it doesn't matter that it's
- 24:56like some songs are like softer and more like, you know, cleaner
- 25:00or more single project. Though I really like that you're
- 25:03intentional about wanting it to be like a body of work, because
- 25:06I feel like a lot of artists like.
- 25:08Throw things together. Just throw things together and
- 25:10you could tell if you're somewhere like a playlist versus
- 25:12like an album. And that's why I'm like, I
- 25:13wanna, we need to bring back the art of albums.
- 25:16Under I stress over the track list.
- 25:18You don't. I like listen to it.
- 25:19I'm like, OK, this could be here.
- 25:21Oh, but then I can't be here because that doesn't make sense.
- 25:23I like when it's like a story. I was gonna say your debut album
- 25:26falls a. Story.
- 25:26Yeah, yeah, oh man, full story. And yeah, I'm not really like
- 25:30listening to Sonics, which maybe I should be.
- 25:32I'm just like, what is the? I'm just like, I need to put it
- 25:35in order of the story. So like, you're going more from
- 25:37a storytelling perspective. Yeah.
- 25:38Interesting. So do you want it to be like a
- 25:41chronological story? You're like you're following a
- 25:42path. There's your theatre coming out.
- 25:44Yeah, literally, there's my theatre.
- 25:45Coming out, I feel like for me like I think about sonics like
- 25:48how do the songs like? That's so important, I should
- 25:51think about that more. Honestly, I mean, honestly, as
- 25:53an artist, like telling your story is so important.
- 25:55So I kind of like that. That's really interesting.
- 25:57That's super cool. So then you have on this album,
- 26:00like songs are either about falling for the robot or wishing
- 26:03you were going to be wishing to be the robot.
- 26:05So then you lean into this Wizard of Oz like Dorothy
- 26:08aesthetic. You do it for the tour.
- 26:10Let's talk about that. Yeah, so I mean, right when I
- 26:13wrote You and the Tin Man, I was like, it would be so sick to be
- 26:17a punked out Dorothy for this album, for the single artwork.
- 26:20I didn't know yet that'd be album.
- 26:22And then once I had the title, I was like, OK, yeah, this.
- 26:24I can still be punked out, Dorothy, thank God.
- 26:27And I so I I called my creative director at the time and I was
- 26:30like, it needs to be Wizard of Oz like kind of fucked up.
- 26:35Yeah, yellow brick row, but like fucked up.
- 26:37It didn't end up actually being fucked up.
- 26:38It was just like pretty. I was like, but I want to be
- 26:41like leaning over either the Tin Man or a robot and like ripping
- 26:47out his heart and like it's gushing blood down and he's.
- 26:49Like. Oh yeah.
- 26:51You knew what you wanted. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:52Oh, I knew exactly what I wanted and he was like I got you and
- 26:55y'all did it. He killed it.
- 26:57Yeah, he killed it literally. Like people were like, is this
- 27:00AI? And I'm like, no, he just
- 27:02fucking killed it. No, like we did that.
- 27:04Yeah, we did that. It was Photoshop for sure.
- 27:06I I was actually leaning over this really weird, like 2 metal
- 27:10boxes with like a mannequin head.
- 27:12It was so it was so creepy. And then he turned it into a
- 27:15robot with Photoshop. But on my tour have a real he
- 27:20recreated the robot and yeah, like his eyes are the lights and
- 27:23it's really it's really cute. We call him Lobot.
- 27:25That's. Hilarious and fucking love that.
- 27:28For this coming tour, I we basically like yes, if I had
- 27:34Lobot, we're like just we're putting like cheetah vinyl on
- 27:38top of him. So he like fits this album.
- 27:40The new one because of the packaging of the.
- 27:42Yeah, like cheetah on it. Like Cheetah, you're still.
- 27:44You're still keeping and referencing your debut.
- 27:46Yeah, because that's the thing like when I was, when I'm now in
- 27:49the process of building my new headline show.
- 27:51Yeah. And I'm like, I still need to
- 27:54have elements of like the old album and stuff like that.
- 27:57Exactly. I'm going to be performing that.
- 27:59So I'm like, how do I make this whole world still exist?
- 28:03I think I'm going to have like a transition.
- 28:04Then I'll do like a little chunk of like the old album.
- 28:07So I was like, I need to still have Lobot.
- 28:08He's so he's like part of my brand. 1,000,000% like.
- 28:11Who else carries around a robot with them?
- 28:14Yeah, I love that you're like so deep into the visuals because I
- 28:18think that's so important for artists, too.
- 28:20I think, like I always tell people like, you're going to see
- 28:21an artist before you hear them, you know?
- 28:23So I really like that, like you, you take it seriously.
- 28:27So with the first tour you had it, it felt like Broadway, to be
- 28:32honest. You know what I mean?
- 28:33Tell us about that tour. It was literally amazing.
- 28:36I had so much anxiety for that tour because yeah, I was an
- 28:39opener so many times and I was. I never did a headline tour it.
- 28:42Was your first. Headlining, yeah.
- 28:43And I was like, what if no one buys tickets?
- 28:46That's such a scary. Thought it's so scary because
- 28:48it's like when you're the opener, there's no pressure, no
- 28:50pressure. They're not here to see me.
- 28:52That's why I'm not here to sell tickets.
- 28:53I'm exactly I'm. Just.
- 28:55Here, they're already expecting me to not be good.
- 28:57Like, they just want to see the person that they're there for,
- 28:59yeah. They're getting their drinks.
- 29:00Yeah, when you're. Like you're seeing, all I have
- 29:02to do is exceed their expectations a little bit and
- 29:05then they'll be happy. You know, as an opener, no, no
- 29:08pressure, no pressure. But then as headline, so much
- 29:11pressure, but so much more fun because everyone's there for
- 29:14you. But anyways, we put the tour on
- 29:16sale. I started with Europe and UK and
- 29:19literally like it. All sold out so quick.
- 29:22Oh my God, Congrats. That I had to like upgrade the
- 29:23venues. I upgraded the London venue
- 29:25twice and it sold out. So we could have upgraded it
- 29:27again. Yeah.
- 29:30And then I was like, oh, OK, I have confidence now because it
- 29:33just went, it went so well. And this is your tour now.
- 29:35Like you can design the set, you can figure out what you want to
- 29:37do, and like, you have so much more creative control over that.
- 29:40Yeah, so it was so much fun. The audiences were crazy.
- 29:43I've never experienced anything like that.
- 29:45Because again, as the opener, even though there's no pressure,
- 29:47it's like a lot of people standing like.
- 29:49Yeah. And honestly, yeah, you see it.
- 29:52And I don't like no hate to them because for me, when I'm like
- 29:55watching something for the first time and analyzing it, I'm also
- 29:57like, and even I've seen someone that's so good and I'm just
- 30:00like, Oh my God, they're amazing.
- 30:03But I'm standing like this, right?
- 30:05So I'm not like jumping up and down.
- 30:07But now actually, oops. Now when I watch a show, I am
- 30:10making sure to jump up and down because I like.
- 30:12I know how it feels and. I always want like artists to
- 30:14feel like I give a fuck, you know what I mean?
- 30:16So if I'm watching someone, I'm like, I got to move a little,
- 30:18you know what I mean? Like.
- 30:20My most comfort, like if I was just being comfortable at a
- 30:23concert, it would be to do this. Because it's like.
- 30:25You're standing there for a long time and I'm like.
- 30:27Because essentially you're also and perform when you're down
- 30:29there because when you're like jumping up and down like you
- 30:31want them in like I'm having a good time a little bit.
- 30:33Yes, 100%. That's a lot of energy.
- 30:35It's a lot of energy. So I totally get the people that
- 30:38just stand there like, you know, do your thing.
- 30:39No, no hate. But but yeah, the tour went so
- 30:43well and now I'm like, just excited to do it again.
- 30:47You're about to do it. Again, you're about to share
- 30:49Europe love again. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:51Wait, So what's different with this upcoming tour?
- 30:54Well the rooms are way bigger which is crazy.
- 30:56Congrats, the room I put on sale for my first London show for
- 31:01instance was 150 and this time I'm doing 1500 capacity.
- 31:08What a fucking upgrade. It's insane.
- 31:09Well, because that's crazy. And yeah, it's, it doesn't
- 31:14really make sense. Like my label sent it to me and
- 31:15I was like, what? And they were like, well, you
- 31:17sold it out twice last time. So I ended up doing 500 last
- 31:21time instead of 150. Yeah.
- 31:22But I was like, OK, let's go of 1000 people.
- 31:25I hope they come. But it's selling really well so
- 31:27far, so. Absolutely everyone.
- 31:28Go see Lolo and Taurus. You're doing Europe.
- 31:30Fly to to London yeah I'm going to do other territories as well
- 31:34but haven't announced it yet oh because we're still planning it
- 31:37and just. Like, see you in LA.
- 31:38Yes, you will. This year, 100%.
- 31:41Yeah, it's happening. God forbid a girl performs in
- 31:43LA. Yes.
- 31:45That's such a good album title, by the way.
- 31:46Thank you. I'm excited to get to it.
- 31:47But yeah, with the tour, like, you know how you built this,
- 31:49it's like world for your first headlining tour with this
- 31:52upcoming one, Like, have you started, like thinking about
- 31:55what that one's going to look like?
- 31:56It's going to be in the world of God forbid a girl spits out her.
- 31:59Feel yeah, so but I I like the whole thing about even just like
- 32:02designing the album artwork for this.
- 32:04It's like I was like, OK, well, I can't I don't want to do
- 32:06another movie because then I'm just going to be like the movie
- 32:08girl, but I want it to be like a world, like a low, low world
- 32:14that is still like whimsical and over exaggerated.
- 32:18And so yeah, I'm designing the set right now with my creative
- 32:23director and we're figuring things out.
- 32:25But yeah, Lobot for sure is still coming.
- 32:28And then we're figuring it out. I mean, I can't do so much like
- 32:33craziness because like 1500's the biggest room, but most of
- 32:37the rooms are like 5 to 800. But then some of the rooms are
- 32:41still like the places that like I've never done a good line in
- 32:44Prague or whatever. So it's like 300.
- 32:46No hunt the show does not change.
- 32:48But the design, like sometimes you can't hang your banner, like
- 32:51if it's a smaller room and stuff.
- 32:52Yeah, right, right. Right, you're working with the
- 32:54size of the. Yeah.
- 32:55So it's kind of hard, especially when I am having such a scalable
- 32:58like some like one night it's 301 night it's 1500, it's like,
- 33:02OK, I have to figure out a set that will adopt.
- 33:05Yeah. So figuring that out.
- 33:07So for the set list, do you think you're going to be able to
- 33:10perform like the songs that didn't make the initial track
- 33:13listing for the upcoming album? Do you think they're going to be
- 33:15ready by then? They yeah, they might be ready
- 33:18by them, but I probably won't play them only because I already
- 33:23like I'm when you said set list, I was like, I'm stressing about
- 33:25the set list because you hear. A lot about how like the
- 33:28sequencing of things too. Yeah, and I want to.
- 33:30Do 2. Projects now, yeah, like even
- 33:33last tour I was like Oh my God, I'm not playing this song, how
- 33:36can I not? And I performed for like an hour
- 33:38and a half. And I remember my MD was like,
- 33:40you know, you don't need to do an hour and a half like at your
- 33:43level, like that's that's a long show.
- 33:47And I'm like, but I want to get love that.
- 33:49Yeah, I love. I love it when my favorite
- 33:51artist do long shows like 2. Longer shows, yeah, absolutely.
- 33:54So I ended up cutting stuff even still to make it 150.
- 33:58So then I'm like or 1:30 and I'm like, how is this going to be
- 34:02same time? But I have a whole new album.
- 34:05So I'm just like, what do I cut? Luckily, I do like a VIP where I
- 34:09do an acoustic performance of like songs that aren't on the
- 34:12set list. So for people I.
- 34:14Like. That yeah 'cause I just like.
- 34:16I feel. Bad.
- 34:16I want what they want. Yeah.
- 34:18I want to give people what they want and I I hate when people
- 34:20are upset. I was kind of thinking, I saw
- 34:23one of my friends did a in her set.
- 34:25Like she had a wheel of like all her old songs.
- 34:27And she had like, someone spin it and like, Oh yeah.
- 34:29So every night they would do a different old song.
- 34:31Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:32Sabrina Carpenter kind of did that with her cover.
- 34:34I think Sabrina Carpenter had something similar.
- 34:36Too. Yeah yeah.
- 34:38Cover song. Yeah, fun too then.
- 34:39That way you can feel like that. Keep it interesting for yourself
- 34:41every night. Exactly.
- 34:42Yeah, 'cause it does. It's like so much music at this
- 34:44point. I know it's too much.
- 34:46I mean, it's great. I mean, more is coming, yeah.
- 34:48More is coming. More is coming, so we're gonna
- 34:50hear a lot of the new stuff too on this one.
- 34:52Yeah, I definitely a lot of the new stuff, but then obviously
- 34:55I'm going to play like everyone's favorites.
- 34:57I hope. Oh my.
- 34:58God, of course. I mean every song is everyone's
- 35:00favorite. Yeah, I hope so.
- 35:02Well, I want to talk about this. God forbid a girl talks about
- 35:06her upcoming album. Let's talk about the new album.
- 35:09Well, I love the album cover. I was telling you before the
- 35:11show, like, it's so stunning. Like, can you walk us through
- 35:14it? Also, you had the spike choker
- 35:16in it. Was that uncomfortable?
- 35:17Because I saw in one of the assets you were, like laying on
- 35:19your side. I was like, oh.
- 35:21Yeah, you know what, It wasn't uncomfortable.
- 35:23It was just so heavy. I I think I have really, really
- 35:26weird like I don't know if it's like OCD or like yeah, slightly,
- 35:30I don't think a sensory thing 100.
- 35:32Percent. I got that.
- 35:32Can't. I don't like after a while
- 35:34wearing a lot of stuff on my neck.
- 35:36I can't wear turtlenecks. I start to gag.
- 35:38I got it. I'm just kidding.
- 35:40Yeah. I start, I start gagging.
- 35:42It's really weird. Same jewelry.
- 35:43I start gagging. You committed for the cover.
- 35:45Art Yeah, I committed. But yeah, for the cover art, So
- 35:48I really liked the idea of the Princess and the because
- 35:54basically the star of Princess and the P is that like she they
- 35:56find out she's a Princess because she couldn't feel even
- 35:58like the tiniest P under 20 mattresses, IE she's super
- 36:01sensitive. Oh my God.
- 36:05You're a genius. Yeah.
- 36:05So I was like, 'cause you're on it.
- 36:07With the mattresses. Exactly.
- 36:09So it's like the Princess and the P because like I'm also
- 36:12super sensitive and I feel things more than the average
- 36:15person would feel them. And I felt like it was kind of a
- 36:19continuation of like my first album where I'm wishing to be a
- 36:22robot and I'm wishing to be numb.
- 36:24Because at the end of that album, I feel like I, and I, I
- 36:28said this on my headline tour too, Like at the end of the
- 36:30show, I say like, you know what? I wanted to be numb.
- 36:33But like the whole reason, like the whole point of life is to
- 36:36feel things and like we're feeling this together and like,
- 36:40and, and we're human and that's the whole point is that we're
- 36:43human and we feel things. And so I kind of took that into
- 36:46this album artwork, kind of being like the opposite of being
- 36:50numb. And now I'm embracing that.
- 36:51I not only feel things, but I feel every little thing, even
- 36:54like the tiniest bee under a mattress 100%.
- 36:57So I'm kind of like the Princess and the bee because I'm super.
- 37:00We're both sensitive. Wait, I'm so happy we talked
- 37:01about the album cover because like, I just thought it was
- 37:03stunning. Oh my God, thank you.
- 37:04But I'm like, wait, that's so much intention.
- 37:06Yeah, that is so cool. Wow.
- 37:09So you said that this album, like, is kind of conceptual as
- 37:12well. Like, what would you say is,
- 37:13like your concept for this one? Because you had a very clear,
- 37:15defined concept for your debut. Well, basically it's like the
- 37:18title kind of is the concept. I'll tell you how I got to that.
- 37:20So basically, as I kind of said before, I was having vocal
- 37:24issues and I couldn't record extra songs.
- 37:26And the songs that I already had done, the 13 that are on there,
- 37:30most of them, I think all of them except the first track
- 37:34pretty much are about relationships, friends maybe,
- 37:38or, you know, exes. But it's kind of like love and
- 37:42loss in a relationships, right? All of them.
- 37:44And sometimes I feel like I've gotten comments being like, can
- 37:47you write anything else besides like breakups or whatever?
- 37:51Yeah, it's like so annoying. I remember my old manager was
- 37:53like, you need to write something else beside breakups.
- 37:55And I was like, OK. And then I started writing about
- 37:56anxiety. And then he's like, you need to
- 37:58write something else beside anxiety.
- 37:59And I'm like, what else is there?
- 38:01What do you want for me? What else is there?
- 38:02Breakups, anxiety, Like that's the only two things in my life
- 38:05is my life. But anyways, shout out to him.
- 38:08I love him, no hate, no hate to him, love him.
- 38:11But I was looking at my track list and I'm like they're all
- 38:14about relationships. What the fuck I'm going to get
- 38:17some hate. And then I was like God forbid a
- 38:19girls put that our feelings like that's all I'm feeling right
- 38:22now. And as soon as I said that in my
- 38:25head I was like that is it. So I keep hitting this.
- 38:29I was like. Album title.
- 38:30Boots, that is it. That is my album title and then
- 38:32right away I picked up the guitar and I wrote a song called
- 38:36God forbid a girls pathetic feelings about that about like
- 38:41it's kind of like it's kind of meta.
- 38:43I'm like the song talks about, like, what do I do?
- 38:46Like when, you know, if it's kind of like that famous Taylor
- 38:50Swift song, Like if you don't want me to write bad songs about
- 38:52you, don't do bad things. Like, OK, Like it's all I'm just
- 38:56a girl here. Oh my God, you're a Swifty core.
- 38:59Oh yeah. You're a.
- 38:59Swifty Core you. Love your Easter egg.
- 39:00I really do. Like before I announced the
- 39:02album every day I was like I put like sixpence on the richer,
- 39:06then 5 seconds of summer and then four everybody.
- 39:09I did a countdown and like it took my fans a long time to
- 39:12clock up and then by three they were like.
- 39:13Wait, she's. Counting.
- 39:14She's doing something. Something.
- 39:16'S about to be announced. Yeah.
- 39:17So that, that, that was exciting.
- 39:19Forgot what I was saying. Oh yeah.
- 39:21So anyways, that's how I got the album title because I was
- 39:24genuinely concerned that people were going to make fun of me for
- 39:27this album. And then I was like, fuck it,
- 39:30this is this is, this is what I'm spitting out.
- 39:32Spit out your. Feelings.
- 39:33I like that title so much, it's so dramatic.
- 39:35I'm dramatic. You love a long title.
- 39:37I do love a long title. Really.
- 39:39Yeah. I remember also when I was doing
- 39:41falling for Falling for Robots and wishing I was was uh huh.
- 39:44I told my manager that was the title.
- 39:45He's like, it's too long as he was wearing in 1975.
- 39:49Sure. Lock.
- 39:49It with the really long album and for it.
- 39:51Was called lock it. That's.
- 39:52And I was like, girl, right? And he's like, oh, OK, It's
- 39:58like, point made. That's so funny.
- 40:00Yeah, I love long titles. You turn me out, but you give a
- 40:02depression. I love it, I think.
- 40:03It's funny. Oh my God, exactly.
- 40:05And you have like you really lean into that because I feel
- 40:07like I like one word titles so much.
- 40:10I like that too, but do you? Feel like all of your projects
- 40:12will have, like, a long title. Like, obviously you wouldn't
- 40:15know right now, but like, do you tell?
- 40:16Because I told myself as an artist, every album put out will
- 40:19be one word. Yeah, it's what I like.
- 40:21Committing to I like me and Leah actually have this discussion
- 40:24because she's a one word girl. And I'm super over genius, yeah.
- 40:28And I'm, yeah, I'm a whole sentence.
- 40:30That's so interesting because you guys are, like, best
- 40:32friends, you and Leah, Kate. Yeah.
- 40:33And then like, I feel like getting to know you, like you
- 40:36guys are so different. I know we're so different but
- 40:39we're both fucking delusional. I love it and like insane and so
- 40:42we. Don't have a podcast?
- 40:43Yeah, we, we. You both will come on.
- 40:45Yeah, I we literally wanted to have a podcast called like the
- 40:49the Delulus or something. This is before we knew you.
- 40:51That's right. Copyright.
- 40:52And yeah, but when she told me that she went on your podcast, I
- 40:57was like, wait, there's already one called that That's so crazy.
- 41:00I need to go on it too. And then here I am.
- 41:01Well, you kind of manifested the delulu thing between y'all and
- 41:04then because you both were on here.
- 41:05Yeah, we'll have both of you on at the same time.
- 41:07Yeah, we need to do that. We should do that, Yeah.
- 41:09When you maybe you both will put out a deluxe at the same time.
- 41:12Yeah, OK, we'll see. She'll probably put ours out
- 41:14before me, but I'll just come. OK, love, I'll have my people
- 41:18reach out to all other people. Perfect.
- 41:19OK, we love it. Well, we're super excited for
- 41:21this album. I love the four singles that you
- 41:23released prior and I'll something before the show.
- 41:25Like I think with your debut, it felt way, it felt more robust.
- 41:28It felt like louder. It felt like sonically grittier.
- 41:31And then this one feels like it's coming in a different
- 41:33direction. Like how was this evolution in
- 41:35shift? Yeah.
- 41:36Well, OK. So a couple of reasons.
- 41:38So one, I guess I like really need to stop going on the
- 41:41Internet and seeing what people are saying about me.
- 41:42But I think something that I get a lot is she's not pop punk,
- 41:48she's not rock. Like she this is like man, like,
- 41:52you know, that kind of thing. And I'm just sitting here like I
- 41:55never said I was fucking. I was literally about.
- 41:57To say right now, I was like, wait, did you ever like say?
- 41:59Never, ever. I was never like I'm a punk.
- 42:02Yeah, no, I'm big pussy. I'm very emotional, like I I.
- 42:08Never claimed. I never think I was like, I put
- 42:11on a Plaid skirt and you guys fucking put this title on me.
- 42:15No. But also, of course, I grew up
- 42:16loving Green Day and Weezer and Simple Plan and and Avril
- 42:19Lavigne and like, I totally felt like I was a part of the scene
- 42:23growing up and I and I loved that.
- 42:27But I think the whole thing about the scene is that it
- 42:28should be like inclusive and that's, that's, that's the whole
- 42:31thing. So I find it funny that
- 42:33sometimes I get that those comments, but I was like, you
- 42:37know what? I'm going to lean into this
- 42:38because, yeah, I'm not like that gritty and hardcore and, or I
- 42:43mean, I can be, but like, I feel like a really good reference for
- 42:47me is like, you know, like Michelle Branch and like Ashley
- 42:50Simpson, like they were like pop rock when I was little.
- 42:54My, my 2, my favorite C DS were Hilary Duff's and Green Days.
- 43:00And I actually think that's a really good amalgamation.
- 43:02Yeah. Like I thought Hilary Duff was a
- 43:04rock star. Like, I thought she was rock.
- 43:06And like, in a way. Yeah, exactly.
- 43:09That's what I that's what I feel.
- 43:11And so I was like, I'm going to lean into this and I'm going to
- 43:14like explore them more like Michelle Branch, Alanis
- 43:17Morissette, kind of Ashley Simpson kind of rock rather than
- 43:21like the Green Day and Weezer thing, which I was already kind
- 43:24of exploring before. I was like, I want to see that
- 43:26side of like the pop rock because I think it's such, first
- 43:29of all, I don't even believe in genres, but I think it's such
- 43:31like a broad genre. And I was like, yeah, so fuck
- 43:35you guys. Because I'm still playing Warp
- 43:37Tour. So here you go.
- 43:38And. You're.
- 43:38Still there, but I think it's actually really nice and I think
- 43:41like I I, I've I normally don't get any anxiety performing, but
- 43:45before warp tour I was so scared because you know that and it's
- 43:49expecting because I'm I've had a drink thrown on me once before
- 43:52yeah Oh my God, Adam, not downloadfest.
- 43:55Why do I keep forgetting the name Slam Dunk Fest?
- 43:58Oh my God, this asshole guy that is so rude.
- 44:01And yeah, he threw a drink at me after I sung one of my like,
- 44:04heaviest songs that I'm literally screaming in called Oh
- 44:07my God, I don't know. So.
- 44:09It wasn't enough coming. Back to delusion, because he
- 44:12threw a drink on me and it went right in between me and my
- 44:16guitar player. And if it went on my guitar
- 44:18players like pedal board, it would have like cost me
- 44:21thousands. I mark my words.
- 44:23I would have jumped into the audience and tackled this man.
- 44:26I don't, I can't control myself sometimes, but it, it went in
- 44:31between and in my delusion, I was like, Oh, a drink just came
- 44:35on stage and was really hot and I was like, oh, was he cooling
- 44:38me down, trying to cool me down because he thinks I'm like hot
- 44:41or maybe he thinks I'm like good looking.
- 44:43That's that. That was my first thought.
- 44:46I was like, oh, I'm does he think I'm hot?
- 44:48So he's like pulling me down like.
- 44:50He's. Kidding on me.
- 44:51Yeah, that was my actual first thought.
- 44:55Like, I swear to you, I wasn't like, oh, someone hates this.
- 44:58How could how could they hate it?
- 44:59I was just like doing such a good job that I think it came.
- 45:04I remember being a little kid, and sometimes, you know,
- 45:06obviously girls are like, mean and stuff.
- 45:09And my mom always said, oh, it's nothing with you.
- 45:11You're amazing. If someone's mean to you, their
- 45:13parents are probably getting divorced.
- 45:15Yeah, That's what she said to me.
- 45:17Your mom's better. Yeah.
- 45:18Yeah. My mom's delusional, too.
- 45:20And so that really stuck with me.
- 45:21And whenever a girl was mean to me, I was always like, oh,
- 45:24they're having troubles at home. Like, it's not me.
- 45:26I'm amazing, like. And I definitely want to teach
- 45:28that to my future. Kids being instilled.
- 45:30Though Yeah, confident it was really you.
- 45:32Shouldn't take it personally. Yeah, yeah.
- 45:34But anyways, he threw the drink at me.
- 45:36I remember I said to him, I said on the microphone, did someone
- 45:39just throw that? Because I was so confused.
- 45:41And he's like, I did you fucking suck.
- 45:44That's what he said to me. And I was like.
- 45:48Did anyone in the crowd like beat him up?
- 45:50So basically I don't even want to get back into this because
- 45:53like whatever, but I basically made a comment, oh, it's OK, I'm
- 45:57verbally abusing him on stage. I was like, I said something
- 46:01about like that. He I asked him why he was so
- 46:06upset. I was like, is it because I was
- 46:09like, you must have. Yeah.
- 46:10I was like, I'm sorry. Like, what upset you so much?
- 46:12Like, have you never had your Dick sucked before or something
- 46:14like that? And then I was like, I said
- 46:16something along the lines of like, I would never suck your
- 46:20Dick and I love sucking Dick or something like that.
- 46:23And the whole crowd, I know it's like so inappropriate.
- 46:25My, my dad texted me after like, why Lauren?
- 46:28Why? But the whole crowd erupted in
- 46:31laughter and everyone started booing him and his friends that
- 46:34he was with like pushed him away and he got totally.
- 46:39And it's funny because that day I had zero press booked and I
- 46:43got off stage and every other artist, artist that looked up
- 46:46that I looked up to whatever came up to me and like gave me a
- 46:49half five. They're like, that was so
- 46:50fucking funny that you said that.
- 46:52And then every single press outlet there that day wanted to
- 46:55talk to me about my comment. And I was like, Oh my God, I, I,
- 46:59my dad, my dad's going to see this though.
- 47:01And then it ended up being taped and then that video blew up and
- 47:05it got me 30,000 Instagram followers.
- 47:08Cool. That's crazy.
- 47:09Yeah, my mom always says sex cells, but yeah.
- 47:13And then I remember my dad texted me being like, I'm so how
- 47:15happy you like verbally abused that guy that was mean to you.
- 47:18But did you have to say that? It's.
- 47:21OK, Did you have to say that? And I was like, Dad, Yeah,
- 47:24Honestly, it was just, I don't know why in my head I just said
- 47:28that because I think I actually met Billie Joe Armstrong one day
- 47:32and he told me that he got actual No, no, no, no, he didn't
- 47:37see it. We were talking and he we were
- 47:40talking just about the industry or whatever.
- 47:41And he told me that he like got actual human shit thrown at him
- 47:44one day at I think it was at Woodstock or something.
- 47:47I don't remember that. Like, yeah, people were like
- 47:49throwing shit at Green Day and people even simple plan.
- 47:52I've talked about it, but like they they have in their
- 47:54documentary, people like peed in a bottle and threw it on stage.
- 47:57Like people are crazy. Let me just.
- 47:58Kind of write a passage. Though, Yeah.
- 48:00So he told me that people threw shit at him because they weren't
- 48:03like punk rock enough. And I remember that really stuck
- 48:05with me. And I said to myself, if they're
- 48:07going to throw shit at Green Day for not being punk rock, I'm
- 48:10getting shit thrown at me one day.
- 48:12And it better not be real human shit.
- 48:14But it's going to be something, I think.
- 48:15That's like bioterrorism. This was that was the 90s I
- 48:18guess. But sometimes I would like stay
- 48:21awake in bed and think of like, if someone threw something at
- 48:24me, what would I say? And I would.
- 48:27I always. Thought before they threw this.
- 48:28Is before, yeah, before. So I was always like, sometimes
- 48:31if I couldn't fall asleep I was like, oh, would I say I would be
- 48:33funny if I said something about like sucking Dick or something.
- 48:35Yeah. Oh, and.
- 48:36You're ready to go. Yeah, so I kind of like knew I
- 48:38wanted to say that, but I was really when he said you fucking
- 48:41suck. I my heart to start beating.
- 48:42It did affect me. I was upset and so I didn't say
- 48:45it exactly how I wanted to say it, but I was prepared.
- 48:47It was. Still effective.
- 48:49Oh yeah, the whole crowd was fucking dying.
- 48:50I like press. I got my press.
- 48:52They thought it was. Probably all about You're a
- 48:54hella camp too. They thought it was so funny.
- 48:56Yeah. Yeah, and it probably made like
- 48:58new fans. Yes, literally people were
- 49:00commenting on the video being like, I don't know who you are,
- 49:02but I love you now. Oh my God.
- 49:04So yeah, that man actually got me 30,000 Instagram followers,
- 49:07so thank you Sir. I wonder if he ever thinks about
- 49:10it, 'cause I'm like, why? It haunts him as it.
- 49:12Should it it? Honestly, it rattled me for the
- 49:14rest of the set. Like I was trying to not let it
- 49:16get to me, but I'm like, why are people?
- 49:18I mean like I would literally, and I don't even know anyone
- 49:20that would ever do something like that.
- 49:22Oh my God, I can't I. Don't know anyone that would do
- 49:25that. I'm like, who are these people?
- 49:26But that brings me to my point where to where I was, I was
- 49:29really nervous for Warp Tour and Download Fest and stuff like
- 49:31that. Yeah.
- 49:33Because I'm always scared that like I'm too I'm too pop for
- 49:36punk or whatever and bullshit. Yeah, But what I, what I've
- 49:41learned, because I was going to go into like this past summer, I
- 49:44did all these festivals, these hardcore, like literally I was
- 49:46on like metal festivals and I'm like singing, like you turn me
- 49:50on, but you give me depression. I was going to like change my
- 49:54whole set and just do like the upbeat songs and like the crazy
- 49:57songs. And then my MD was like, Lolo,
- 50:00like, why don't you just be yourself and like, fine, yeah,
- 50:04they're going to get like an ear break from like all the
- 50:06screaming and like metal and like they're going to like you.
- 50:09And so we did do that. And I was really scared, but it
- 50:12but it worked out. And that really taught me like
- 50:15I'm going to just be true to myself always.
- 50:17If they don't like it, they can throw a blue slushie at me.
- 50:20Period. And you'll get more press.
- 50:21Not poo. And then you'll get more and
- 50:23I'll get more press and I'll, you know now.
- 50:25And now I really have things in the back of my mind to say so.
- 50:28But you know what? Oh, so you're ready?
- 50:29I'm. So ready but like don't throw
- 50:31things at me, but if you do I am going to make you into a viral
- 50:34tick tock. You're going to be part of her
- 50:36career growth. So, yeah, so.
- 50:38We'll see. You decide so honestly.
- 50:40Sorry, that was a tangent. Not at all.
- 50:42That's a really interesting story, actually.
- 50:44So I'm going to. What I'm taking from that is
- 50:46Charlie, my publicist. We need this stage, someone
- 50:49doing something to me so I can we can grow.
- 50:52People thought it was stage people at the festival after
- 50:55they asked me was that real? And I was.
- 50:56Like I wouldn't handle it if that actually happened, like to
- 50:58me, and I didn't expect it. I'd be so rattled.
- 51:00Yeah, I was really rattled, but I kept it going.
- 51:03But I was really upset. And you know what your Co client
- 51:07Bailey spin like she was talking about how like people don't
- 51:10think she's rock enough. You know what I mean?
- 51:11Like people's perception of just music.
- 51:13Especially so annoying. It's like, it's so like, what's
- 51:17it called? It's like such a club.
- 51:19It's like you have to be, you're not enough yet.
- 51:20And it's like, girl, it's just music.
- 51:22Like music is supposed to be about like universal, like
- 51:24everyone feel these. Artists, right?
- 51:27Like I feel like especially like woman artists got so much.
- 51:30More my God, don't even get me started.
- 51:31It's so like unfair and unfortunate, you know what I
- 51:33mean? Like I can't believe damn that's
- 51:36I'm sorry that happened but. It's all good.
- 51:37It ended up being good like 100 I think.
- 51:39I think that man, it really jumped quick.
- 51:41Like jump started my career. I do anything whatever, so
- 51:45whatever, whatever throwing. No publicity is bad publicity.
- 51:48Is Yeah, all publicity is good. Publicity.
- 51:51Good publicity. Throw something at us right now
- 51:53over the show, OK, OK, that's so cool.
- 51:57That's so good. I think especially now that
- 51:59you're like going on this next tour and when you're doing your
- 52:02own, you feel better. You're safe.
- 52:04You know you're not. Worried about that?
- 52:05Yeah. And I have my Social Security
- 52:06like. Yeah, but now you do.
- 52:08Yeah, 100%. OK, We're getting there.
- 52:10So with this new album, the four songs that you had released
- 52:14prior and you're releasing another one coming up very,
- 52:16very, very soon. But out of them, I love Double O
- 52:207. Thank you.
- 52:21Oh my God, it's so good. And I think the writing on Devil
- 52:24Wears Converse is so clever. When I was listening for the
- 52:26first time and you were describing this person and then
- 52:28you were like, I was expecting to devil look like this, but it
- 52:30ends up looking like you. I was like.
- 52:32Yeah, bitch. That is such good, right?
- 52:34It's clever writing. I was like, as a songwriter, I
- 52:37love clever, smart writing. And then the rhyme schemes and
- 52:41sitting with Double O 7, everything's just so good.
- 52:43And like, and you know, the vulnerability have all of it is
- 52:46so good. Let's talk about those songs.
- 52:48Yeah, well, I first of all, I always, I'm trying to be as
- 52:51clever as possible. That's like, thank you.
- 52:53That's like I'm really always trying to look for like really
- 52:56unique concepts. The Devil Wears Converse.
- 52:58I actually wrote that song three.
- 53:00Sorry. I wrote a song called The Devil
- 53:02Wears Converse three years ago because I've had that title in
- 53:05my notes app for so long. It didn't quite hit the .3 years
- 53:11ago and then so I was, I've always wanted to rewrite it and
- 53:13like try to really get it. And I was like, after I wrote it
- 53:16this time, I was like, OK, this is exactly it felt like I nailed
- 53:20the concept. When you first originally wrote
- 53:21it, was it just like a concept you had and then then you
- 53:24started living this experience and then you're able to nail it?
- 53:28Yes. Got you.
- 53:29Yeah. Well, yeah, exactly.
- 53:31I think after I left it, it was easier.
- 53:33Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so that.
- 53:35Yeah, actually it's funny because I just realized that
- 53:41three of my singles are all movie titles for, yeah, movie
- 53:46references. Double 77 is from James Bond and
- 53:48then The Punisher is coming out February 27th, I believe.
- 53:55Yes, February 27th. One of the things got is on
- 53:57February 27th. Yeah, it will be exact that will
- 54:01that will be. That's from a movie, The
- 54:04Punisher, and it's a comic, I think I actually.
- 54:07So during this whole album, Oh my God, after an album in a
- 54:11year, I was looking at famous movie titles.
- 54:14I Googled famous movie titles because I was like, they're
- 54:16great references. If it's a famous movie and it
- 54:19was a good concept, it would be a good concept for a song.
- 54:21And actually APG taught me that. Shout out Mike Kieran, He told
- 54:24me to look at song titles. I mean, he does that.
- 54:26Too, she looks at titles and she looks at movie titles and she
- 54:29like writes songs around them, which I think is a really strong
- 54:32concept. Too.
- 54:32Yeah, it's great because like, you know, titles aren't
- 54:34copyrighted so you can like, do anything.
- 54:36Yeah, You can write any song yeah.
- 54:39And so. Yeah.
- 54:40So that kind of inspired all of those.
- 54:43And it's funny because originally I wanted 007 to be
- 54:47like a ballad about like a sad song about like an undercover
- 54:51heartbreaker. And I wanted The Punisher to be
- 54:54more, more upbeat, and it kind of went the opposite.
- 55:00The Punisher's not a ballad by any means, but it's more of like
- 55:02an indie pop. Is this the next single?
- 55:04Yeah, it'll be the next single. It's actually one of my favorite
- 55:07ones, if not my favorite. I do, yeah.
- 55:09Really. That's so exciting.
- 55:10Yeah, I just like it's. It was one of the first songs
- 55:13that I wrote with Andrew. No, it was the first song I
- 55:15wrote with Andrew Gold. At the beginning of the project.
- 55:17At the beginning of the project, and it was the first time that I
- 55:22did the more like clean, like, you know, softer
- 55:25singer-songwriter E kind of like rock.
- 55:29And yeah, so I was really excited about that.
- 55:31And then I kind of, it was kind of like it was one of the
- 55:33pillars, I would say, for the album because then I was like, I
- 55:35want to make more songs like that.
- 55:37And then the other songs that are like that are me with no
- 55:39shirt on and hung up on you and you know, other ones like that.
- 55:42Like the songs, I kind of define the direction you want the album
- 55:44going. I love that.
- 55:46So you only have these two producers for this project
- 55:48though. I actually had a few other ones.
- 55:49I had a different one on Double O 7, this guy named Dana, and
- 55:52then another one on Boy Who Doesn't Want to, this guy Gus
- 55:55Van Gogh, who's Canadian. And I had another one actually
- 55:59on stuff like that, Jordan Pastorino, who he produced my
- 56:03first 2 EPS. OK, yeah.
- 56:05So actually there's a lot of producers on this.
- 56:06I think also because I was very back and forth, Nashville, LA,
- 56:09Toronto and I, I was like. I don't have.
- 56:11Experience for you? Yeah, I was like, I do not have
- 56:13time to like wait till I'm back in Lai need to like do things
- 56:16now. Million percent.
- 56:17That's the thing. When you're working with one
- 56:19person, it's like you have to kind of like.
- 56:20Lock in with them. You got to lock in with them
- 56:22that week. It's like, used to be like I
- 56:24would book a Nashville trip for a week and it's like every
- 56:27single day. I'd better fucking get a song
- 56:29for this album. Love.
- 56:30Yes. So yeah.
- 56:32OK, so big question for you. You're talking about the
- 56:35pressure of making this next album.
- 56:37God forbid a girl spits out her feelings.
- 56:39But you said the pressure was coming from making sure it was
- 56:42just as good as your debut or better.
- 56:44I know you feel like you didn't. You weren't able to finish it
- 56:46how you wanted it to. Where would you stand with this
- 56:48album right now? Do you think it's just as good
- 56:50or do you think it's better? How do you feel?
- 56:52I think the album itself is just as good.
- 56:54And I think some of the songs are better.
- 56:56OK. But I think for my taste, I
- 56:58prefer like my favorite songs to listen to are like a little
- 57:02softer, I guess. Interesting and sadder and
- 57:05maybe. Yeah, I I think that this album
- 57:07is a lot more vulnerable and I kind of like say things and I'm
- 57:12more. Comfortable saying sounds more
- 57:13vulnerable. Did you hear the whole thing or
- 57:15just the? Thing I've only heard these 4.
- 57:16Percent of 2 I would. Like I would.
- 57:18Love to hear. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:20But yeah, I I so like. You know Sherlock is like that
- 57:24one comes. Up like that.
- 57:25I think that's my favorite one on the album.
- 57:27Yeah, I think I personally, I think where I am in my life now,
- 57:31I like these songs better, but then it's like some songs in the
- 57:36old one will always have like Hot Girls in Hell is just like
- 57:39my favorite song ever. I mean.
- 57:40That's completely fair though. You should love all your work.
- 57:43I love that you love all your work too.
- 57:44Yeah. I always breaks my heart when
- 57:45the audience. Is like, I hate my debut album,
- 57:47I hate my first project. Oh my God.
- 57:49Which is also. Completely fair, like as you're
- 57:50figuring out like your direction and your sound.
- 57:52Yeah, like, oh, I put out like my very first EP that I haven't
- 57:55even talked about or consider it my first EP called Sweater
- 57:57Collection. Do not look it up.
- 58:00I hate it. I hate it.
- 58:01I'm embarrassed by it. Damn, let's see, I'm working on
- 58:04my DB right now, debut right now and I'm really worried that I'm
- 58:07like, fuck, I hope this is timeless for me because I would
- 58:09hate to look back and be like, oh, I don't like these anymore.
- 58:11Yeah, you know what I mean? That's the pressure I feel.
- 58:13But you're right, you have your entire life.
- 58:15It's already debut so. Yeah, no, I think debut you'll
- 58:17you'll be fine because you're like focusing on it more,
- 58:19whereas like a little EP. I was just like, yeah, throw it
- 58:21out like. 100 OK yeah, you're right, you know, yeah, you have
- 58:24to have a lot of intention when it comes to an.
- 58:25Hour exactly. I didn't have that much
- 58:27intention with my first DPI, was kind of just like putting songs
- 58:29out. I mean, completely fair, right?
- 58:30I mean, that's kind of the expectation, especially when
- 58:32you're starting off. It's like just got to release
- 58:34things. 100%. I get that.
- 58:36So and Devil Wears Converse, that one's obviously like, well,
- 58:39I don't know, obviously, but it's a reference to Devil Wears
- 58:40product. Yes.
- 58:41OK, OK, that's what I thought. It's so clever.
- 58:43Thank you. Yeah.
- 58:44I really like that one that I feel like that song on the album
- 58:49is the most like the Falling for Robots era.
- 58:52Yeah. Oh.
- 58:53My gosh, I can totally see that and also love American Zombie.
- 58:56Thank you. That one was.
- 58:57I've been wanting to write that song for so long because
- 59:01basically I had a crazy, crazy thing happened with This
- 59:05American Zombie and I've been wanting like I could actually
- 59:09never tell the actual story because it would be fucked up.
- 59:12But basically I I met somebody in music and had an insane night
- 59:19with them and just like getting to know them and like a lot of
- 59:24crazy things happened that I wish I can honestly share but I
- 59:28think I would get them in trouble.
- 59:29I. Have it in the song.
- 59:30I have it in the song So he makes you.
- 59:32Tighter than his jeans. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:34I mean, for me, I'm like, Oh my God, is this so obvious?
- 59:37But I don't think anyone's clocked it, so I guess it's not
- 59:39obvious. I have no idea who.
- 59:40This I'll tell you. You're going to have to tell me
- 59:44you you look funny. You are an oversharer.
- 59:45Like I think that. When you walked.
- 59:47Onto my set. You dropped a giant ball on me.
- 59:49I was like, wait, are you OK? No, literally like, I was like,
- 59:53hi, I'm Ryan. And you're like.
- 59:54And I was like, Oh my God, I'm like, thank you for coming.
- 59:59Oh my God. It's weird.
- 1:00:00I wish I could share more, but honestly, I think that I, I
- 1:00:03prefer to share it through song because, you know, if I was just
- 1:00:07sitting here like yapping about every single detail in my life,
- 1:00:10I don't think it's as like, I don't know how to.
- 1:00:13I wouldn't want people. To listen to the music, because
- 1:00:14at first I used to listen to the song over explain what I wrote
- 1:00:17or what I did. Yeah.
- 1:00:18And I'm like, no, just listen to the song.
- 1:00:19And I also think that it's important for people to take
- 1:00:21like when I listen to a song and it's, it could be like the most
- 1:00:24specific thing and I'm like, oh, this is about me.
- 1:00:27Like you make it about yourself. So I love that.
- 1:00:29I don't even want to say exactly what it really is about because
- 1:00:32then people won't make it about themselves.
- 1:00:34And like they won't. They won't be able to see
- 1:00:36themselves. They get too deep into the lore
- 1:00:38of the song. And I think like, that's the
- 1:00:39Taylor Swiftification of like, her music, for example.
- 1:00:41Like the fans are more way more concerned about, like, how it's
- 1:00:45relating to her versus like, it being like a universal thing.
- 1:00:48Yeah. Well, when I write and like, try
- 1:00:49to be as specific as possible, like I want it to be about me
- 1:00:51because I've had writers be like, you need to make it more
- 1:00:53ambiguous. You need to make it more.
- 1:00:55Don't do that. I used to do that because I used
- 1:00:57to think like, oh, be more relatable if it's more
- 1:01:00ambiguous. And I actually noticed in Hot
- 1:01:02Girls and how because I was literally like, I say, like you
- 1:01:05fill a cup with mostly vodka and some ginger ale, then you start
- 1:01:07biting your nails and then you call your mom and it's like, so
- 1:01:10let. Me go.
- 1:01:11Away it's literally airing out like the subject of the song is
- 1:01:15like everyone's going to know it's about me like but they
- 1:01:18they. Would be saying that I'm like,
- 1:01:19no, nobody knows who you are like.
- 1:01:21Let's start there. No one knows.
- 1:01:22And literally I remember after that so specific that verse is
- 1:01:26so specific and everyone was like you wrote this about me
- 1:01:29this to AT this happened and dah dah dah.
- 1:01:31And I'm like oh OK, yeah. But then I found, yeah, but we
- 1:01:35all have shared experiences. They relate.
- 1:01:37And then I find when there's less detail, it's harder for
- 1:01:39someone to relate because it's just like ambiguous.
- 1:01:42So you don't really put yourself in that.
- 1:01:44Yeah, 100. Percent.
- 1:01:45So that's when I realized that like the more specific the
- 1:01:47better, yeah. And the more relatable which is
- 1:01:50you wouldn't think. I completely agree because I
- 1:01:52think my favorite songs are the ones where the lyrics are so
- 1:01:56specific. They're talking about an
- 1:01:57experience, a person, like they're describing it so deeply.
- 1:01:59And I'm like, these are my favorite.
- 1:02:00Me too. These are my favorite.
- 1:02:01Me too. I think for me when I write,
- 1:02:03like I always say, like I don't, I want this to be relatable.
- 1:02:05I want it to be about me. It's about my experience about
- 1:02:08this person. Like I'm not trying to make it
- 1:02:10relatable, but like exactly what you said, I find that people end
- 1:02:13up relating and they end up like feeling like they can see
- 1:02:16themselves in that story. I mean, that's powerful as an
- 1:02:18artist. A. 100%.
- 1:02:19And that's why it's good to be sensitive and vulnerable and all
- 1:02:23of that. OK, so you said me you have no
- 1:02:25shirt on is probably your favorite on this.
- 1:02:27Well, yeah, one of my favorite Let's.
- 1:02:30Talk about that song. So yeah, that song, I mean,
- 1:02:34another one my dad loves. Right when you open the verse,
- 1:02:38just being in your underwear like you're, you're going there,
- 1:02:41you. Paint a picture.
- 1:02:42I wrote the idea for it literally while waiting for a
- 1:02:47reply to a sexy to a sexy pig. And it's funny because I
- 1:02:54actually did get a reply. I do get the reply about like an
- 1:02:58hour later. But the whole song was kind of
- 1:03:01like boring and waiting for the reply.
- 1:03:03It's funny because people are commenting like there's no way
- 1:03:05they didn't reply. It's like, yeah, they replied,
- 1:03:07but the song is well, they didn't.
- 1:03:09And I think that the song, yeah, I think that the song is so cool
- 1:03:12because it's taking such a specific moment of like such a
- 1:03:18specific thing. But it is just talking about the
- 1:03:22feeling of realizing that the person that once liked you, you
- 1:03:26can tell they don't like feel the same anymore, losing
- 1:03:29interest. And it's just like that broad
- 1:03:30thing of the, the pain of how 1 you can tell someone's losing
- 1:03:35interest in you. Yeah, but I put it in such a
- 1:03:37specific moment and I think that's really cool.
- 1:03:39And I've been trying to write like that more.
- 1:03:42I have a couple other songs on the album that are like very,
- 1:03:46it's like 1 specific moment and I'm making this whole fucking
- 1:03:49thing about it. And that goes back to the like
- 1:03:51the Princess and the P thing of 100% making a big deal out of a
- 1:03:54little little tiny thing. I'd be a little dramatic, so I
- 1:03:56completely get it. You're writing for girls like
- 1:03:58me, so. Exactly.
- 1:03:59Thank you. Yeah, I really like that though.
- 1:04:01And I feel like it's such a vulnerable thing, like to talk
- 1:04:04about that because like, like you said, it's a specific
- 1:04:05instance. And then also that realization
- 1:04:08also very universal. Yeah, and devastating.
- 1:04:10Yeah, yes, yeah. It's funny because like I was
- 1:04:12like, Oh my God, I hope it's not just like relatable to like
- 1:04:15girls sending nudes. And I also like, by the way, so
- 1:04:17much deeper. Don't send nudes.
- 1:04:18It's terrible idea. Yeah, terrible idea.
- 1:04:21If anything only to your boyfriend or girlfriend, but but
- 1:04:24just don't send it. It's it's a terrible idea.
- 1:04:26Like I'm like, I don't want to be the person that's like
- 1:04:29promoting sending nudes. Don't do that.
- 1:04:30I don't. Even I never took that long as
- 1:04:32that. I never took that time.
- 1:04:33I was like vulnerable, yeah. Because I I don't want it to be
- 1:04:36that. Yeah.
- 1:04:36Reflecting on. Feelings.
- 1:04:37But then I feel like so many, like, straight guys are just
- 1:04:42like, I'm fucking vibing to this song and there's no way that
- 1:04:45they're sending pictures of their tits because they don't
- 1:04:48have tits. But they.
- 1:04:50But it's just the universal feeling of realizing someone's
- 1:04:52losing interest in you. Yeah.
- 1:04:53And that's so scary and that's such a real thing too.
- 1:04:55And to experience that, like, I think you captured it so well in
- 1:04:58that, especially just like with the imagery and like, obviously
- 1:05:00like the premise of it, but it's like that's a vulnerable thing
- 1:05:02to start with, you know? And then detaching from that
- 1:05:05feeling and all of it. I'm so excited for this entire
- 1:05:08project. So Punishers coming out, you
- 1:05:10said. This one's probably definitely
- 1:05:11your favorite. Honey Shirt and me with no shirt
- 1:05:14on and Lobotomy and you, I think are my like top three in terms
- 1:05:18of just like the ones that really hit me in the fields.
- 1:05:20Yeah, yeah. When did you end up finishing
- 1:05:22the album? You said you had a year to do
- 1:05:24it. Like when was it turned in
- 1:05:25master? Turned in and I think October
- 1:05:272nd or something. OK, so you've been living with
- 1:05:29these songs for a while. Now I've been living with them,
- 1:05:31Yeah, yeah. So I'm kind of like keep going
- 1:05:32back and forth on my favourites. Now I'm just like dumbest girl
- 1:05:36in the world is also kind of my favorite.
- 1:05:37You're. Like actually I really love.
- 1:05:39All. I think I kind of love all of
- 1:05:40them. There's a few.
- 1:05:41Yeah, Yeah. Wait.
- 1:05:42How many songs? How long did you make for the
- 1:05:43project because you ended up with 13.
- 1:05:45Yeah, I probably made like 20, OK.
- 1:05:49And then I was like. And some of them are gonna go on
- 1:05:51the deluxe. Some of them are gonna go on the
- 1:05:54deluxe for sure, and then some. I'm like, I don't like this
- 1:05:56anymore. That's fair.
- 1:05:57Yeah. There's so many that just go on
- 1:05:59the toilet. It happens.
- 1:06:00Yeah. Oh my gosh.
- 1:06:01Well, we're so excited for the album.
- 1:06:03Thank you. And then I think being
- 1:06:05vulnerable and sharing everything, like, I think being
- 1:06:07able to tap into, like, your Diaries and your mind.
- 1:06:10I love, like, I'm nosy as fuck. I love hearing.
- 1:06:15That's so good. We're excited.
- 1:06:16Yeah. Thank you.
- 1:06:17OK, so you gave really good advice about not sending nudes.
- 1:06:20We agree. We're not sending nudes.
- 1:06:22But I want to know what advice you have for some of the delulu
- 1:06:25besties. They submitted some questions
- 1:06:27and we're going to give our advice.
- 1:06:29OK, so this is WWADGD. What would the delulu girl do?
- 1:06:32And Lolo and I are going to give our or delulu advice on what we
- 1:06:37think you should do. Oh.
- 1:06:37My God. OK, so this is delulu advice.
- 1:06:39This is like advice I would give Leah.
- 1:06:40OK, yeah, it is advice you would give Leah.
- 1:06:42Let's go with that. I love it.
- 1:06:44OK, so first question from Anonymous Bestie.
- 1:06:47I'm way more into my boyfriend than he's into me.
- 1:06:49What should I do? This is so hard because my mom
- 1:06:52always says that the guy your boyfriend should be more into
- 1:06:55you and honestly it should be a turn off if someone's not into
- 1:06:58you like. Yeah, like why are you not?
- 1:07:00Obsessed. Why?
- 1:07:01Yeah, if you're not obsessed with me, that's a turn.
- 1:07:03Off like you don't. Care.
- 1:07:04Yeah, I think so. But I get that sometimes.
- 1:07:06I think people want what they can't have and that will make
- 1:07:09them want them more. But I think that you need to
- 1:07:13like honestly just sort of therapy.
- 1:07:15And we're talking about self worth and self respect.
- 1:07:17And I think, like, you need to have self respect and self worth
- 1:07:20and like, if you're more obsessed with him, no, like,
- 1:07:23just like ghost to him or something.
- 1:07:25Yeah. Or like, take a step back.
- 1:07:28Like, I mean, this is so playing games.
- 1:07:30But what I would do in this situation is I'd probably like,
- 1:07:32not I'd, I'd stop texting. I would, like, pretend that I'm
- 1:07:35not into him. Yeah.
- 1:07:37But really, that healthy decision is probably like, break
- 1:07:40up with him, I guess. But you probably don't want to
- 1:07:42because you're obsessed with him.
- 1:07:43Totally. But I think the main thing is
- 1:07:46you should be turned off if someone's not obsessed with you.
- 1:07:48Yeah, big red flag. Big red flag. 1,000,000%.
- 1:07:51Yeah, and you deserve someone to be obsessed with you.
- 1:07:53Yeah. That's a really good answer.
- 1:07:55Not to Lulu at all. OK.
- 1:07:57I think I'll play a game. Yeah, I think I'd be like, I
- 1:07:59think I I can make them obsessed with me.
- 1:08:00Yeah, I can get them really into me.
- 1:08:02I think that's what I would. Do.
- 1:08:03Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, well yours is a lot better.
- 1:08:05And why are you old? So let's go of yours.
- 1:08:06Let's. Go because I started therapy
- 1:08:08honestly. We have another anonymous bestie
- 1:08:10asking. I was really into this guy at
- 1:08:11first but I'm losing interest. Should I ghost him?
- 1:08:16OK, well, in this situation, I think don't ghost, but it
- 1:08:19depends like are you dating? Are you just talking?
- 1:08:22But I think that like, I don't believe in ghosting full stop.
- 1:08:26Oh, really? I'm a big ghoster.
- 1:08:28I think that like you could just be like a little dry and they'll
- 1:08:31get the hint. And then I guess if they don't
- 1:08:32get the hint, I, I've once said to someone like, I'm so sorry,
- 1:08:35I'm not interested. And it was really hard, so
- 1:08:37uncomfortable. It wasn't hard because they were
- 1:08:38such an asshole. I went on one date with this guy
- 1:08:40and he was, he was, Oh my God, I, I couldn't believe he even
- 1:08:44asked for a second one because they went so poorly.
- 1:08:46And normally I can like act and pretend that the dates going
- 1:08:48well, but I was so turned off by him that I, I was silent.
- 1:08:51I, I was like, I don't even, I don't even want.
- 1:08:54I, I can't like normally I would put energy and I would make them
- 1:08:57have the best time ever, which is honestly probably bad too,
- 1:08:59but I don't want to be awkward at the time.
- 1:09:02But yeah, if you're losing interest, I think it's nicer to
- 1:09:06just like cut it off rather than like give them false hope.
- 1:09:09So either ghost or just like fade out or if you have the, you
- 1:09:16know, the balls to say like, don't I, I'm not really feeling
- 1:09:21this any more than say it. Yeah, even though they might get
- 1:09:23offended, I think the best thing to do is yeah, I think the.
- 1:09:26Best thing is, but I think with men, I'm like, I'm like, yeah,
- 1:09:29like. I think just start acting dry or
- 1:09:31like I'm busy, I'm busy, can we hang out?
- 1:09:33I'm busy they'll. So like a soft.
- 1:09:35Ghost, a soft ghost and normal people will get the hint I
- 1:09:38think. OK.
- 1:09:39I like that. That's actually good.
- 1:09:40Because they'll be, they'll be turned off that they're not into
- 1:09:42you, that you're not into them. You would think, but remember
- 1:09:45the first first question. Yeah.
- 1:09:47It kind of relates to the first question.
- 1:09:49Imagine these are two. They're the two people they're.
- 1:09:52Asking about each other. That's so funny.
- 1:09:55Well, they're all fans of delulu, so I wouldn't be
- 1:09:57surprised. Yeah.
- 1:09:58OK, Period. OK, we have the last question
- 1:10:00here. So I'm really into this guy.
- 1:10:03Do you think it would take like a genius for them to know that?
- 1:10:06I would I mean it depends are you it depends how you're
- 1:10:11acting. I feel like when I'm into
- 1:10:12someone it does not take a genius or really quoting Leah
- 1:10:15Hair when I I. Was like, wait, did you catch
- 1:10:18that? Rob Yeah, we did OK.
- 1:10:20Yeah, I wasn't sure if you were doing it on.
- 1:10:21Purpose or not. OK, yeah, I was like, wait,
- 1:10:23maybe she's actually. Oh, yeah, no, no, I, I, I
- 1:10:26clocked that. But I was like, I didn't know if
- 1:10:27it was on purpose. Yes, that.
- 1:10:29Was my question. OK, yeah, yeah, I I think it
- 1:10:31shouldn't. Take a.
- 1:10:32Genius. It shouldn't take a genius.
- 1:10:35Yeah, I love that. Shouldn't.
- 1:10:36OK, period. I think kind of same.
- 1:10:37I'm like super obvious when I like.
- 1:10:38Someone. Yeah.
- 1:10:39Oh my God, yeah. Right.
- 1:10:40Yeah, OK, love that. Well, what is your most delulu
- 1:10:44take? What would you say is the most
- 1:10:46delusional thing you think? I think the most delusional
- 1:10:50thing I think is that just like everything is going to work out
- 1:10:52for me always. That's why I'm delusional and
- 1:10:54everything that does work out. Sometimes you have to.
- 1:10:57Drink at you, you go viral. Yeah, sometimes you have to be
- 1:10:59delusional because you have to, because otherwise, like you
- 1:11:03can't cope with like anything less.
- 1:11:06No, you can't, I think. Especially in this industry and
- 1:11:09the career you want and the things that you do and being a
- 1:11:10performer, you have to be delusional, yeah, to want it.
- 1:11:13And you have to be delusional to make it happen.
- 1:11:14Yeah, exactly. You, you really have to be.
- 1:11:16And like I, I've been working on that because I, I feel like I
- 1:11:20used to be a lot more like, oh, it's not going to work out.
- 1:11:22No, Leah actually really like she's so delusional, so
- 1:11:28delusional that and she just, and she makes it happen for
- 1:11:31herself. And I think that's something
- 1:11:33that I've really that I really respect about her and that I've
- 1:11:37that I've taken upon myself to being that.
- 1:11:40Like, for instance, Speaking of Grammy week, like last year
- 1:11:44there was this party, the Universal party is like one of
- 1:11:47the best parties and everyone wants to go to it.
- 1:11:49And we weren't invited because we're not on Universal.
- 1:11:51So it makes sense. And she was like, we're going to
- 1:11:54the party. I was like, how we're not
- 1:11:56invited. The guest list is so strict.
- 1:11:58It's like Sabrina Carpenter and, you know, like all the.
- 1:12:00Universals. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:02And she's like, wait, no, we'll just go and like we'll pretend
- 1:12:06we're on the list and I'm like, that's not going to happen,
- 1:12:08girl. Like I'm not paying for glam, my
- 1:12:10hair and makeup, getting an outfit to just be to be rejected
- 1:12:13at no for a no for a no. I was like, we're not.
- 1:12:16That's not happening. And basically what happened was
- 1:12:20it was two years ago, because last year the fires actually, so
- 1:12:23there was no party, but it was pouring rain.
- 1:12:26And this is another reason I was like.
- 1:12:27I remember the Grammy week that it.
- 1:12:29Was like lighting in Lai was like, I was like, I'm not, I'm
- 1:12:32not going. I'm not.
- 1:12:33She's like, we're going get your makeup on.
- 1:12:35Worst case, we're going to take hot pictures.
- 1:12:36I was like, oh, OK, well, don't, don't tap me with a good time.
- 1:12:40Like, so we get all dressed up, We go in an Uber Black to look
- 1:12:44like we're more important than we are.
- 1:12:46And we arrive in full glam looking like we belong there,
- 1:12:51looking like we belong there. Security open store.
- 1:12:54They're like, go, go, go, go. They rush us in with an
- 1:12:56umbrellas because it's pouring. They don't even ask us to check
- 1:13:00in. They go, you're walking the
- 1:13:01carpet, right? We're like, yeah.
- 1:13:03And we end up walking the carpet.
- 1:13:05All of a sudden we're on the carpet.
- 1:13:06All the people are like, what's your name?
- 1:13:08Lolo. Lolo Lolo, the paparazzi.
- 1:13:10We're like, what the fuck? We get in.
- 1:13:12We're like, how did that happen? And my bubble, this is like,
- 1:13:17don't do that again. And Charlie, I got ridden in
- 1:13:22like Billboard's best dressed at the party.
- 1:13:26Bitch that's so fucking crazy. That's a good story.
- 1:13:29Yeah. And so that really taught me to
- 1:13:31be delusional, be. Delusional look at.
- 1:13:33That yeah, I have a song on my album called Delusional Darling
- 1:13:35also, which is which is about we're.
- 1:13:37Gonna have to listen, we're all streaming that one.
- 1:13:38Yeah, and just about being delusional because it's just
- 1:13:41easier than facing the truth. 100% and then you can make it
- 1:13:45happen for you. So you manifested that?
- 1:13:46Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's honestly it's.
- 1:13:49Very LA too. It was when I told all my
- 1:13:51friends that they were like, that is insane.
- 1:13:53I'm gagged. Yeah, and everyone's like, how
- 1:13:55did you get into the party? And you're.
- 1:13:56I was like, you won't believe it.
- 1:13:57I just walked in like I. Honestly don't believe it
- 1:14:00myself. Yeah, I hope Universal doesn't
- 1:14:01hear this 'cause I, I, I'm really sorry, but don't worry,
- 1:14:04we didn't, we didn't go to the you're invited to anything.
- 1:14:07We didn't waste any of your money.
- 1:14:08So. Yes, it worked out.
- 1:14:09You're on the. Way we're just chilling.
- 1:14:11We're just chilling. Yeah, there you.
- 1:14:12Go. That's free publicity.
- 1:14:13Yeah, and now I'm signed to Concord, which runs Universal,
- 1:14:17so. So really, everything is OK, all
- 1:14:20is forgiven. OK, guys, wait, that's such a
- 1:14:22good story. Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:14:24OK. But well, Lolo, this has been so
- 1:14:26fucking fun. Are you kidding me?
- 1:14:28I've had the best time talking. My God, I love you.
- 1:14:30I love. You, but you're.
- 1:14:32So fun. I need you to come back and then
- 1:14:33also Leah needs. Going to do a panel, yeah?
- 1:14:36We need to, well we close out every show by manifesting
- 1:14:39together. Is there anything you want to
- 1:14:40speak into existence here on the Lulu right now?
- 1:14:43I'm going to speak into existence that my album is going
- 1:14:45to do amazing, Yes, already done, get some viral songs on
- 1:14:49there and that every tour, I every tour I put tickets on sale
- 1:14:54too. We'll sell out.
- 1:14:55It's already selling out, yeah. So.
- 1:14:57OK, I'm manifesting that you're going to do AUS leg of your
- 1:15:00tour. Because I want to see in LA it's
- 1:15:01happening so. OK, there you go.
- 1:15:04Being delusional works. Yeah, period.
- 1:15:06OK, I'm cleaning that. I'm going to go to the LA show.
- 1:15:08Yes, please. I'll put you on the list.
- 1:15:09Oh. My God, you don't have to.
- 1:15:10I'll buy a ticket. I'm really into supporting.
- 1:15:12I'll buy a ticket. I'll buy a ticket, but I'm
- 1:15:15excited to see you. Yeah, I'm excited to see you.
- 1:15:17Well, well, this was so fucking amazing, and you have to come
- 1:15:21back. You're obviously going to bring
- 1:15:22Leah. We're supposed to call her.
- 1:15:23But I know we never did. It's OK, she's has a personal
- 1:15:26training session now anyways. You're going to see her after
- 1:15:28this anyway, so you'll tell her all about it.
