  Speaker 2: conversations about because of the success of the Golden Bachelor

  Speaker 2: in the Golden Wedding, maybe they do a Golden Bachelorette.

  Speaker 4: I think the ads out for men to apply interesting.

  Speaker 4: I believe honestly that you can find more women than

  Speaker 2: when they asked me to be the Bachelor, and I

  Speaker 2: was I was excited, you know, like, of course, you

  Speaker 2: know this would be so just you know, I think

  Speaker 2: they brought it up to like three of us on

  Speaker 2: the show, and then my story was kind of interesting

  Speaker 2: because Oprah had taken a liking to Trista's season of

  Speaker 2: the of the Bachelorette, and I was someone who's just
• 4:28
  Speaker 2: kept appearing on Oprah, right, So I was on there
• 4:30
  Speaker 2: like fourteen times from the time I was on the
• 4:32
  Speaker 2: Bachelorette and Oprah. One day was like, I want to
• 4:34
  Speaker 2: have to be the next bachelor, and that was really
• 4:35
  Speaker 2: all it.

  Speaker 3: Sure, that's all.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, O Earth the Oprah. But they never asked me.

  Speaker 2: They never like said, like, what are you interested in

  Speaker 2: in a woman?

  Speaker 3: Like? They didn't ask me.

  Speaker 2: So when I show up as a bachelor, it was like,

  Speaker 2: I think they cast who they thought I would be

  Speaker 2: interested in, not necessarily never they never said like do

  Speaker 2: you like blondes, brunettes, like you know, someone who's you know, tall, short.

  Speaker 1: I wonder if they did Gary, if he had anything

  Speaker 3: I don't know that it would be interested in.

  Speaker 2: That would be interesting because generally speaking, I think I

  Speaker 2: think they don't, right, because they're looking at a pool

  Speaker 3: And you and I talked about this.

  Speaker 2: I've been asked a bunch of times, you know, what,

  Speaker 2: what type of advice would you give to the next bachelor?

  Speaker 2: And my statement has always been for the guy to

  Speaker 2: realize about you, right, you really know, I'm always like, buddy,

  Speaker 2: you are not ben Affleck. Okay, this is just because
• 5:31
  Speaker 2: a flower. It doesn't make you leading man.

  Speaker 3: Yeah.

  Speaker 2: But I always say, I'm always like, it's not about
• 5:36
  Speaker 2: the guy. It's really about the women that are cast

  Speaker 2: around that guy. And I and I say that, you know,

  Speaker 2: people think I'm saying it and like being self deprecating,
• 5:45
  Speaker 2: but I'm honestly not. I really think that if you

  Speaker 2: had a monkey up there handing out a flower and
• 5:50
  Speaker 2: you have twenty very strong, beautiful, accomplished women, they're just.
• 5:55
  Speaker 3: Like, I don't want that bitch to get a flower.
• 5:58
  Speaker 3: She's not gone.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, So it's more about the women and that in

  Speaker 2: that interplay that it's really not about the Guy's not

  Speaker 1: Go back to chemistry. There has to be chemistry.

  Speaker 2: I had it, Yeah, and you, I said, you know,

  Speaker 2: you you had mentioned that you and Gary did you

  Speaker 2: guys have more of like a a friendship vibe or

  Speaker 2: what would you say?

  Speaker 1: Was I was his support? He confided in me.

  Speaker 4: I made him laugh, like the very first one, not
• 6:24
  Speaker 4: one on one, but the first few minutes we had together.

  Speaker 4: I remember looking in his eyes, and he was very

  Speaker 4: sincere and paid attention, which is very important in who

  Speaker 4: I picked you, and I liked it. I thought, oh well,

  Speaker 4: let's give this a shot. Yeah, I'd like to get
• 6:39
  Speaker 4: to know him. We never got to that point where
• 6:42
  Speaker 4: one on one, but throughout the whole thing I jumped
• 6:45
  Speaker 4: out of his birthday cake and everything I did made
• 6:49
  Speaker 4: him laugh. And at the Rose ceremonies, I was his
• 6:51
  Speaker 4: support in a touch of my heart, I was there
• 6:54
  Speaker 4: for him.
• 6:55
  Speaker 3: So we're buddies.
• 6:56
  Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost like a wonderful gift to come away
• 6:59
  Speaker 2: from the show with Trista and I have been friends

  Speaker 2: now for twenty years. Ryan was actually my roommate in
• 7:04
  Speaker 2: the mansion when we were like we were bunk mates.
• 7:06
  Speaker 2: You know, you were in a bunk bed. Well, we
• 7:08
  Speaker 2: were in singles. Yeah, they weren't stacked.
• 7:13
  Speaker 3: Yeah, but we were like we were in singles.
• 7:14
  Speaker 2: But it was funny because you know, it was a
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: very similar type of chemistry, Like I adore her, but
• 7:20
  Speaker 2: we we were we had that friendship vibe that's carried
• 7:23
  Speaker 2: over for twenty years now.

  Speaker 4: When you weren't the bachelor per se, you were in
• 7:28
  Speaker 4: the group. Yes, how did the men vibe. Oh, so, you.

  Speaker 2: Know, it is interesting. I I think it starts at
• 7:36
  Speaker 2: the top. I really do so. And I would always
• 7:38
  Speaker 2: say that. I wouldway say, you know, I think it's
• 7:39
  Speaker 2: the lead really sets the tone for the show. And

  Speaker 2: Trista is such a lovely shirle.

  Speaker 3: It's all about gratitude.

  Speaker 2: And so we went on that show and it's you know,

  Speaker 2: we were twenty five guys.

  Speaker 2: And I remember saying, because I was the elder statesman

  Speaker 2: of the girl at the time, I was thirty, and

  Speaker 2: I remember saying to the guys, I was like, guys,

  Speaker 2: it does matter if we like each other or not.

  Speaker 2: What matters is who she likes. So why don't we
• 8:04
  Speaker 2: make Why don't we have a great time. Let's be buddies.

  Speaker 2: Let's get along.

  Speaker 3: Let's be supportive of one of the guys. Guy, And

  Speaker 3: I'm like, let's be buddies.

  Speaker 1: Anybody butt up against you, like, not really.

  Speaker 3: With me, but they would like there was still a
• 8:16
  Speaker 3: couple of and I'd be like, dude, they're filming. You

  Speaker 3: don't don't don't don't talk like that. You're gonna regret it,

  Speaker 3: you know.

  Speaker 2: And I was so glad because we got along great

  Speaker 2: and then when I was the Bachelor after that, I

  Speaker 2: remember saying, like, I had such a great experience on
• 8:31
  Speaker 2: the beast Red because we all got along. I hope

  Speaker 2: you guys can do the same thing. I think for
• 8:34
  Speaker 2: the most part, the women on my show got along
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: really well too. You know, there are a couple in
• 8:37
  Speaker 2: there that you know, they weren't there to make friends, right,

  Speaker 2: That's where the whole thing started, I think.

  Speaker 4: But that was different with our show because I guess
• 8:46
  Speaker 4: because of our agent, our maturity, and what we've been
• 8:48
  Speaker 4: through in life, we were bonding that I took away
• 8:52
  Speaker 4: such good friendships from this.

  Speaker 3: You've probably heard me say this before.

  Speaker 2: I was so happy with how they cast the show

  Speaker 2: because there was definitely an opportunity there where they could have,

  Speaker 2: you know, made it like, yeah, like cast some some

  Speaker 2: you know, young women in there that we're going to
• 9:21
  Speaker 2: just stir up the pot and all this kind of stuff.

  Speaker 2: I was so glad that they went with an age
• 9:24
  Speaker 2: appropriate cast, beautiful, accomplished, still young, you know, still young
• 9:30
  Speaker 2: and vibrant women. But it wasn't like they were trying
• 9:33
  Speaker 2: to just mix it, mix it up and make it
• 9:34
  Speaker 2: druma dramatic for dreams.

  Speaker 4: Thought it to be golden, you had to be sixty five.

  Speaker 4: That's what I understood. And when the first day, when

  Speaker 4: we came down from the hotel the first night, then limos,
• 9:44
  Speaker 4: I'm looking around and I'm like.
• 9:45
  Speaker 3: Okay, I feel it right.

  Speaker 4: And I look over here and my producers like, don't
• 9:48
  Speaker 4: look at anybody. I said, I'm going to get in
• 9:50
  Speaker 4: a car with them.
• 9:51
  Speaker 3: I can't. I can't. I look over here. It's all joan.

  Speaker 4: I go and then I find out she's sixty. I

  Speaker 4: was like, really, really, that's not golden. That's you don't

  Speaker 4: get touch of security at sixty, like that should be
• 10:07
  Speaker 4: a proper bak. But there was like six of them
• 10:10
  Speaker 4: on our shop. Yeah that we're only sixty something.

  Speaker 2: But what did you think, I mean, when you first
• 10:15
  Speaker 2: met Gary, were you kind of like, oh my god,
• 10:17
  Speaker 2: he's like he's a nice guy. I thought he seemed
• 10:19
  Speaker 2: like the nice He is a nice guy. He was midwesterner.

  Speaker 2: He didn't have a lot of games like that edge
• 10:25
  Speaker 2: or whatever. Like girls, you guys you went for a
• 10:28
  Speaker 2: little eleven. Then you're like, okay, no game here. No.

  Speaker 3: I think I shocked Gary.

  Speaker 4: Don't you think it's time you gave me a real

  Speaker 4: kiss and then he and then he.

  Speaker 3: Went for he brought it in. That's all you can do.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a lot of great things that went

  Speaker 3: on in that wedding.

  Speaker 2: I mean there was also a proposal that happened at

  Speaker 2: the wedding, which was pretty cool.

  Speaker 4: And I was plugging away. I'm going to marry charity.

  Speaker 4: I told Braden, I'm going to marry your business cards

  Speaker 4: all over the place.

  Speaker 3: That's awesome.

  Speaker 2: So how's your experience been so far here in Karmel?

  Speaker 2: I have You've been having fun getting to everybody.

  Speaker 4: Just a little upset of the weather. But I'm even

  Speaker 4: more upset than I have to leave tomorrow. Had I known,

  Speaker 4: I would have been here for four days. Oh hecky ezy.

  Speaker 2: when we did my season way back in the day,

  Speaker 2: it was in a totally different house. So that's now

  Speaker 2: the primary occas. You know, that the primary residence for

  Speaker 2: the Bachelor, but I had never been.

  Speaker 4: It's so funny because I was watching Joey's and I'm like, oh,

  Speaker 4: they re arranged that, they changed that color.

  Speaker 3: There's new sofas in there. Everything's designer, I guess designer. Yeah,

  Speaker 3: it was beautiful when we were there.

  Speaker 2: I loved what they you know, how they set up
• 12:56
  Speaker 2: the outside for the food and everything and the big
• 12:58
  Speaker 2: screen and it was kind of I.

  Speaker 4: Got to know that the caterer lady like the rose

  Speaker 4: Hermony's the cocktail party. She would come in the first

  Speaker 4: night I was out there and I'm going, so, what

  Speaker 3: She was is there anything you'd like?

  Speaker 4: I said, oh, yeah, I would dictate, and she brought

  Speaker 3: People were like, wow, we got I said, You're welcome.

  Speaker 3: You're welcome. Yeah, I knew I liked you, so I

  Speaker 3: was doing that same thing. When I walk into the mansion,

  Speaker 2: The second persons. Yeah, I was the second person in

  Speaker 2: for trist this season. And there was like a pause,

  Speaker 2: a really long pause, and I'm like in there by

  Speaker 2: myself with this one other guy and his name was Jamie.

  Speaker 2: We ended up putting it off and still buddies today.

  Speaker 2: And I remember I wasn't supposed to talk to the

  Speaker 2: waiters or anything. But next thing you know, I'm walking

  Speaker 2: in the middle kitchen, which you guys, what's going on
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: back here? Can I get some extra lemons of my drink?

  Speaker 2: And next thing you know, it's like, you know, come
• 13:42
  Speaker 2: to find out they're all producers.

  Speaker 4: Right, I didn't even know, right, But yeah, I'm so

  Speaker 4: glad you had such a great real quick I had

  Speaker 4: a psychic breathing.

  Speaker 3: Okay, nice. Now.

  Speaker 4: I used to see this woman's mother for twenty some years.

  Speaker 4: She passed and the daughter took over, and I've been
• 13:58
  Speaker 4: seeing her and they're doing some kind of a documentary.

  Speaker 1: She helps police find the body so on.

  Speaker 3: So but she's really really amazing.

  Speaker 4: And I was down in Saint Martin with Kathy and

  Speaker 4: Nancy about a week ago, and she wanted to do

  Speaker 4: this thing. I had to go upstairs and shut the door.

  Speaker 4: Long story short. She says to me, there's a third ring.

  Speaker 4: I go really, she said. He has a connection with California.
• 14:23
  Speaker 4: He's a bigger guy, and he wears a mic in
• 14:25
