- 0:00Speaker 1: The other day, Kyle told us she burned her finger
- 0:02Speaker 1: sticking her hand into the air fryer.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Ouch!
- 0:05Speaker 1: Which took us into the stupid way you hurt yourself.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Jenna, stupid way you hurt yourself.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hi, so the end of last week, I was getting home.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I had a bunch of bags on my arms. I
- 0:29Speaker 2: closed my car door right on my face and fractured
- 0:32Speaker 2: and dislocated my jaw.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh, Jenna. Holy ouch.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die. So many dumb ways to die.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die.
- 0:49Speaker 4: So many dumb ways to die.
- 0:52Speaker 5: What's happening with your face now?
- 0:54Speaker 2: So, that was the end of last week. I waited
- 0:57Speaker 2: all weekend and finally went to the dentist on Monday,
- 0:59Speaker 2: which took him three times to reset my jaw to
- 1:02Speaker 2: get it back into place. And so, it's still fractured.
- 1:06Speaker 2: They're hoping that it's healing on its own. And I
- 1:09Speaker 2: have to go back next week to re-X-ray.
- 1:12Speaker 5: Is it, like, painful to speak?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Can you walk us through that again? I'm trying to
- 1:15Speaker 1: visualize what you did. So, you got groceries? So.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So I had gotten home. I had a bunch of
- 1:20Speaker 2: bags in my hand, like reached over to my passenger seat,
- 1:24Speaker 2: got a bag, I think probably grabbed my water bottle.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I used my left hand on my
- 1:29Speaker 2: handle to close the door and turned my face straight
- 1:33Speaker 2: into it as I closed the door. It went right
- 1:35Speaker 2: into my jaw.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So you're not very tall.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Oh, I am tall.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Well, she was bending over. What happened?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I drive like a minivan.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I was just trying to get the visual.
- 1:49Speaker 2: The edge of the door hit right into my jaw. Yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 2: my husband still doesn't understand how it happened.
- 1:54Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to picture. I'm trying to figure
- 1:55Speaker 1: out the whole visual. It just sounds terrible is what
- 1:57Speaker 1: it sounds. Yeah, it does. And I bet you if
- 1:58Speaker 1: the corner of the door hit, you probably have a
- 2:00Speaker 1: cut on there too maybe, like a little triangle.
- 2:04Speaker 4: No? Uh-huh.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It does not feel great.
- 2:09Speaker 1: All right, Jenna. Hold on. That's a good one. You
- 2:10Speaker 1: want tickets to 13th Floor Haunted House?
- 2:13Speaker 6: Sure.
- 2:13Speaker 2: That'd be great.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Okay. Hold on. Hello. Good morning. John Jane Rich.
- 2:16Speaker 7: John Jane Rich.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Now I do the crazy way I hurt myself.
- 2:19Speaker 1: How'd you hurt yourself? Let's hear it.
- 2:21Speaker 7: So my husband and I were putting away Christmas decorations.
- 2:24Speaker 7: I was up in the attic in our garage. He
- 2:27Speaker 7: was at the opening to our attic handing me big boxes.
- 2:32Speaker 7: My left foot slipped off the rafter. I went through
- 2:36Speaker 7: the drywall, kicked him with the drywall. Against the wall,
- 2:42Speaker 7: I came down and broke my tailbone on the, what
- 2:46Speaker 7: I call the wife stopper.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So painful. Oh, the wife stopper.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Oh, so painful.
- 2:51Speaker 7: Yeah, I had to spend the night in the hospital.
- 2:55Speaker 7: Broke my hip and my tailbone.
- 2:58Speaker 1: You poor thing. I've heard that tailbone is the worst
- 3:02Speaker 1: thing in the world to break. That's what I've heard.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die. So many dumb ways to die.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die. So many dumb.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Ways to die.
- 3:18Speaker 7: I had to sit on a donut. A donut for
- 3:20Speaker 7: three months.
- 3:21Speaker 6: It was horrible.
- 3:21Speaker 7: I couldn't sleep on my back, my thighs.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It was so painful. What's your name?
- 3:26Speaker 7: Yeah, that's my... Lori.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Lori, would you like tickets to 13th Floor Haunted House?
- 3:31Speaker 6: I would love it!
- 3:32Speaker 1: Okay, hold on, Lori. Hold on. Brandon.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Yes, this is Brandon.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Stupid way you hurt yourself.
- 3:38Speaker 4: When... I was a teenager. I used to climb buildings
- 3:42Speaker 4: for fun. And it was my sister's 13th birthday, so
- 3:46Speaker 4: I asked her what she wanted to do. And she
- 3:49Speaker 4: said she wanted to accompany me on top of one
- 3:52Speaker 4: of the buildings.
- 3:53Speaker 2: So me and.
- 3:55Speaker 4: A couple of my friends, well, mine and her friends,
- 3:59Speaker 4: decided to go climb up on top of a safeway.
- 4:02Speaker 4: And we ended up having to hop a fence to
- 4:05Speaker 4: get there. So we hopped the fence. We were climbing
- 4:09Speaker 4: the ladder to get on top of the Safeway, and
- 4:11Speaker 4: I missed the top rung of the ladder, slipped and
- 4:15Speaker 4: fell 20 feet and.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Broke my arm.
- 4:19Speaker 4: And after I broke my arm, had to try to
- 4:22Speaker 4: climb the fence back over to the other side of
- 4:26Speaker 4: the fence so I didn't get caught trespassing on the property.
- 4:33Speaker 1: No, it's not a safe way.
- 4:34Speaker 3: No.
- 4:35Speaker 1: That's not a safe way. That's the opposite of a
- 4:36Speaker 1: safe way. All right, Brandon, hold on. We'll say it.
- 4:39Speaker 1: You want 13th floor haunted house? Absolutely. Hold on, brother. Ren,
- 4:43Speaker 1: stupid way you hurt yourself.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Hi.
- 4:45Speaker 6: So a couple years ago, I had just been smoking
- 4:49Speaker 6: with my girlfriend, and I got up to go to
- 4:52Speaker 6: the bathroom and did a quick little shuffle to get
- 4:55Speaker 6: to the bathroom. In our house, we have hardwood flooring.
- 4:59Speaker 6: So under our rugs, we have rug grippers to keep
- 5:01Speaker 6: the corners down. And my foot went between the two
- 5:05Speaker 6: rug grippers under the rug. And it caught me when
- 5:08Speaker 6: I was shuffling to go.
- 5:09Speaker 5: To the bathroom.
- 5:10Speaker 6: And I went face first into the doorframe and cracked
- 5:12Speaker 6: my face open.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 5:13Speaker 4: What?
- 5:14Speaker 1: Ren.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die. So many dumb ways to die.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Dumb ways to die. So many dumb ways to die.
- 5:29Speaker 6: I had to get eight stitches at like two in
- 5:32Speaker 6: the morning.
- 5:32Speaker 1: That's terrifying. Oh my gosh. Wren, you want 13th floor
- 5:38Speaker 1: haunted house tickets?
- 5:39Speaker 2: I really do.
- 5:40Speaker 1: All right, hold on, Ren. We'll set you up. So good. Rich,
- 5:43Speaker 1: do you want 13th floor?
- 5:44Speaker 5: Yes, I do.
- 5:45Speaker 1: How did you get hurt? Let's hear how you got hurt.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Well, I had woken up in the morning, and I
- 5:49Speaker 5: kind of felt like maybe I had hurt myself a
- 5:52Speaker 5: little the day before, like going on a little walk and, like,
- 5:55Speaker 5: stepping on some high rocks and stuff. So to get
- 5:59Speaker 5: into the shower, I thought what I would do is
- 6:01Speaker 5: instead of making a wide step, I would just hop,
- 6:04Speaker 5: just hop into the shower.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Hop into the shower.
- 6:06Speaker 5: And I hopped, and as soon as I landed, my
- 6:08Speaker 5: knee snapped. And I tore my meniscus. And I'm still
- 6:12Speaker 5: dealing with it. What, four weeks later?
- 6:14Speaker 3: All right, that's a wrap.
- 6:15Speaker 1: It's John Jane Rich.
