- 1:02Speaker 4: Not a big deal.
- 1:04Speaker 5: Down to the hats.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:07Speaker 6: I can't even see Matt.
- 1:09Speaker 2: He didn't have a shirt on.
- 1:11Speaker 4: I'm the good-looking male model over here.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Let's see if you had one minute and 58 seconds
- 1:17Speaker 3: on your bingo card before you mentioned it.
- 1:21Speaker 2: You win.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Didn't even make the two-minute warning.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Jake Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay, the Wolfpack, all here with you
- 1:27Speaker 3: on this Wednesday morning.
- 1:30Speaker 2: How we doing?
- 1:32Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I'm doing good. You know why? Because it's return of
- 1:35Speaker 2: Coach Kim Mulkey on the show.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Today?
- 1:38Speaker 2: Today starts the week, ladies. In studio?
- 1:41Speaker 4: No, not in studio.
- 1:42Speaker 2: On the phone.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah, all right.
- 1:44Speaker 2: But the return of her weekly visits.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Here on OCB. Basketball season is underway. Exhibition still, though, right? Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The story, accurate. When do the real ones start?
- 2:01Speaker 6: November 4th?
- 2:04Speaker 7: Yeah, first week of November. Well, we are all very excited.
- 2:07Speaker 7: It's always fantastic to get Coach Kim Mulkey on the line.
- 2:11Speaker 7: She always gives us a lot of wisdom.
- 2:12Speaker 4: She does. November 2nd. Huh?
- 2:15Speaker 6: November 2nd.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I was close.
- 2:17Speaker 7: Sometimes when we ask her questions, we don't even know
- 2:19Speaker 7: it's going to lead to just an ultra-wise perspective.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Seriously.
- 2:24Speaker 4: I know. What are we going to learn today?
- 2:27Speaker 5: I'm excited.
- 2:27Speaker 4: But we're going to learn something. We're going to learn something.
- 2:32Speaker 5: People are like, where's the Flynn voice coming from?
- 2:36Speaker 4: There's a floating head out here. Joke's old, guys. Y'all
- 2:42Speaker 4: say it every time I wear this shirt.
- 2:44Speaker 2: So tomorrow.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Get a new one.
- 2:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Tomorrow, they'll have an exhibition against Loyola of New Orleans,
- 2:51Speaker 3: and then they.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Start the regular season.
- 2:54Speaker 4: How'd you know that?
- 2:55Speaker 2: I don't know. I wasn't even using your thing. Sorry.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Come on. I'm on LSU sports.
- 3:01Speaker 6: You're welcome.
- 3:02Speaker 2: On October 22nd.
- 3:07Speaker 7: LSU women's basketball defeated UNT Dallas 159-31.
- 3:12Speaker 8: Which I discovered was a school this morning.
- 3:14Speaker 4: That's a school. We just discovered that.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I didn't know either.
- 3:17Speaker 6: UNT Dallas. I don't know if y'all know this. Not
- 3:20Speaker 6: too far away from Denton.
- 3:21Speaker 2: At all. Where the real UNT is. It's a little
- 3:23Speaker 2: bit north, right? I mean, a little bit.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, a little bit.
- 3:26Speaker 4: As universities go, not very far.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Not real far.
- 3:29Speaker 8: How do we have two universities in north Texas and one's, like,
- 3:33Speaker 8: not that far from the original one?
- 3:35Speaker 4: That's a great point.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Taylor this morning was like UNT Dallas. I was like,
- 3:40Speaker 5: I think it's just UNT.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Okay, so like you have a- I'd never heard of that.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I mean, you grew up very close to that. You'd
- 3:47Speaker 2: never heard of that.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Okay, when you have like a- Okay, I'm assuming.
- 3:50Speaker 7: Like, I know I don't understand how these things work
- 3:52Speaker 7: all the time, but directional school U?
- 3:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Okay, North Texas?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah. Okay.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 7: Can you have a directional school U- Of Dallas. Of Dallas,
- 4:04Speaker 7: but like, what if it's not in the right direction
- 4:06Speaker 7: of the state? Can you have a UNT Houston?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Oh.
- 4:11Speaker 6: You can have a North Houston because, of course, you
- 4:14Speaker 6: can have like a LSU wherever in the state.
- 4:18Speaker 3: True.
- 4:18Speaker 7: But can you have a directional school? That's a great question.
- 4:21Speaker 7: In a different part of the state.
- 4:23Speaker 5: No, because.
- 4:23Speaker 4: UNT El Paso.
- 4:25Speaker 8: No, because I think that like the directional part of
- 4:29Speaker 8: it is just like talking about the region that you're in.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 5: So I don't think it could be like in the
- 4:34Speaker 5: southern region.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Yeah, but what if like it becomes this... Okay.
- 4:39Speaker 7: An entity of its own. It becomes like a big deal.
- 4:42Speaker 7: Like the university. Like Northwestern. Does Northwestern have another university somewhere?
- 4:47Speaker 5: That's a better example.
- 4:48Speaker 2: No, probably not.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Something to think about, guys.
- 4:53Speaker 5: It is. It's definitely something to think about.
- 4:57Speaker 4: And I'm currently thinking about it.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm thinking about it.
- 4:59Speaker 6: No.
- 5:03Speaker 4: What's another? I don't know. Think about it. We could
- 5:08Speaker 4: probably just slam a Google on it.
- 5:11Speaker 5: Probably.
- 5:13Speaker 4: But what would we think about then if we did that?
- 5:17Speaker 5: That's another great question.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Here's something else that's going to get you. Chicago, where
- 5:24Speaker 3: Northwestern is, is on the east side of the state.
- 5:29Speaker 6: Okay. They're east-western.
- 5:35Speaker 4: It's a good name.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Actually, like, Chicago, so that's where northwestern is, is in
- 5:42Speaker 3: the northeast part of Illinois.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Huh.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Well, that doesn't make any sense. I know. That don't
- 5:49Speaker 4: make no dang sense. No.
- 5:52Speaker 6: I think we do it right here. Like, northwestern, southeastern, geographically,
- 5:55Speaker 6: those make sense.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and then ULL used to be southwestern.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 7: When I think about, like, the state of Texas, I
- 6:04Speaker 7: don't think about Dallas or Denton being north.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Like, I get it. It's getting close to Oklahoma.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 4: But did they forget about the top part of Texas?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Everybody forgets about the top part. Yeah, I think they do.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Like the panhandle?
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah, did they forget about that part? It's a lot
- 6:20Speaker 4: more north.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it is more north.
- 6:22Speaker 4: That would be north Texas to me.
- 6:23Speaker 5: But I think they just call it the panhandle.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Yeah, they do.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But.
- 6:28Speaker 6: We need a Texas Panhandle University. Certainly further north than Dallas.
- 6:33Speaker 5: No, it is for sure. That's what you're saying.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Huh. Something to think about. Another thing to think about.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Food for thought.
- 6:42Speaker 6: Dude, you got my brain in a blender this early?
- 6:45Speaker 6: I forgot your original question. I've been sitting here for
- 6:48Speaker 6: five minutes trying to think of what it was.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I mean, is there a city in the Panhandle besides Amarillo?
- 6:56Speaker 5: Is Abilene up there or no?
- 6:59Speaker 2: That might be the first time I've ever heard you
- 7:01Speaker 2: sound country.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Is Abilene up there?
- 7:03Speaker 5: I didn't even try to do that.
- 7:04Speaker 4: I mean, Lubbock's up there, right? Yeah, Lubbock's up there.
- 7:09Speaker 5: It's like kind of there, yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Although it's like in the base.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Yeah, Amarillo would be.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Right before the actual.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I mean, what a geography lesson based off USC Dallas.
- 7:24Speaker 7: I'm going to tell you. It's good stuff. It's good
- 7:27Speaker 7: stuff right here. You ain't going to get this anywhere else.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Probably not. I don't know. Murphy, Sam, and Jody might
- 7:33Speaker 2: steal it.
- 7:34Speaker 3: That's a great point. What to wear if you visit
- 7:38Speaker 3: the Texas Panhandle. Top three outfits.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Favorite Panhandle city.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 7: We got to start talking about this because the women's
- 7:47Speaker 7: basketball team 5X' d them on the court.
- 7:50Speaker 2: They did.
- 7:50Speaker 8: 159-31.
- 7:51Speaker 5: And we found our way back.
- 7:53Speaker 4: There we go.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Love it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Well done. Well done.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Ninth in the AP preseason?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, okay.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Third in the media pool?
- 8:02Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Crazy. Five returners. And all that information right behind me.
- 8:07Speaker 5: And six newcomers. Three transfers, one freshman, two international players.
- 8:12Speaker 7: Eight McDonald's All-Americans on Kim Mulkey's roster this year.
- 8:15Speaker 6: Where are you all getting all this information so quick?
- 8:17Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:18Speaker 4: I just knew it.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Just off the top of my head.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I mean, that's impressive that all of you, like.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Just boom, boom, boom.
- 8:24Speaker 7: Maybe one of the co-hosts up here made an impressive
- 8:27Speaker 7: PowerPoint slide.
- 8:28Speaker 4: A little study guide.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Jake, you did that?
- 8:33Speaker 2: No, they know it's not me. Me, Jake. Me hate computers.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Richard is not on the team anymore, so you don't
- 8:40Speaker 2: have to worry about that mistake.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Nope.
- 8:41Speaker 7: I already looked at that. I'll research that first. I
- 8:45Speaker 7: will say, look, I was kind of impressed. There is
- 8:47Speaker 7: a girl, a newcomer from the University of Florida with
- 8:50Speaker 7: 97 career starts in the SEC.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Layla Reynolds. Very impressive. That's a lot of stars. That's
- 9:00Speaker 4: a lot of stars. I'm assuming that's a lot of stars.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Feels like a lot.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Yeah. How many games did you play a year?
- 9:04Speaker 4: 40?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Well, she was 29-6 last year, though.
- 9:11Speaker 1: 35.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Look at us.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Your laugh cough is killing me.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It was great.
- 9:18Speaker 6: You don't sound sick at all, Matt.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I've been sick.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Start calling you Matt Flim.
- 9:21Speaker 5: That was a good one.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Okay.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Respect.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Matt Flynn is a good one. You got to admit.
- 9:29Speaker 4: That was a good one. I like him.
- 9:31Speaker 2: At first, he was like, I'm going to be mad
- 9:32Speaker 2: at that. And he's like, damn.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Like it or not, I think I'm done.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I got to respect it.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Like it or not, I think for Halloween, I'm dressing
- 9:38Speaker 4: up as Matt Flynn. Whether I want to or not.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Hell or high water, bud.
- 9:43Speaker 4: That's you.
- 9:44Speaker 7: Some people are like, why are you coming in? Like,
- 9:45Speaker 7: don't come in and get everybody sick. And I'm like, well,
- 9:49Speaker 7: you don't have any grit. Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 8: If you get sick, that's your fault for having a
- 9:53Speaker 8: terrible immune system.
- 9:54Speaker 4: And your weak mindset. That's right.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I feel great.
- 10:00Speaker 4: A lesser mindset person would have been bedridden.
- 10:04Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 10:05Speaker 4: For at least a month. With what I've had?
- 10:08Speaker 2: A month. A month.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Wow, you're really powering through.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I know.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Do you realize how much stronger you are than the
- 10:14Speaker 6: average human then?
- 10:14Speaker 4: A lot.
- 10:15Speaker 6: I mean, you missed half a show.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yep. Barely.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Or exactly.
- 10:23Speaker 2: We're like, hey, you can go.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 10:29Speaker 5: He loves it so fast.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Suckers.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Got him.
- 10:34Speaker 6: There's a video of you on the security camera.
- 10:35Speaker 5: You were like, tiptoeing in my car. Not pretending he's sick.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Got off for an hour and a half.
- 10:43Speaker 6: Those idiots thought I was sick.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Swear to God, I'm sick.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Out of the parking lot. He's about to go golf.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Flashers on.
- 10:52Speaker 4: I was supposed to golf that day.
- 10:53Speaker 6: And yesterday.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Okay, apparently I wasn't supposed to golf yesterday.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Whatever.
- 11:00Speaker 4: You just had a golf. My Tuesday's mixed up.
- 11:03Speaker 7: That's what they get for telling me the new plan
- 11:07Speaker 7: when I'm just in a fever dream.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I mean, this golf tournament.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Still going.
- 11:14Speaker 7: Hey, but we made it through the bad weather. We're
- 11:17Speaker 7: in the good weather. This is the good stuff.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It's true.
- 11:20Speaker 4: So whoever we're playing. Is that? Sorry.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Is that Baton Rouge Country Club?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Whoever we're playing. Like, you don't know they're social at
- 11:29Speaker 2: this point.
- 11:30Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Chance of rain.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Family tree.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Is there?
- 11:33Speaker 4: Yeah. That'd be classic. And Wednesday. We need a little rain.
- 11:41Speaker 4: We could use it.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we could.
- 11:43Speaker 8: If this gets postponed one more time, I'm going to
- 11:45Speaker 8: ask you, like, is this a bit? Because the amount
- 11:48Speaker 8: of times that this golf tournament has been brought up.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Feels like it.
- 11:52Speaker 5: And canceled.
- 11:52Speaker 2: No, it's not feels.
- 11:53Speaker 4: No.
- 11:54Speaker 6: It's been like five times, bud.
- 11:57Speaker 7: So I never miss anything, right? I don't get sick
- 12:02Speaker 7: a lot. And if I do, I still don't miss things.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:04Speaker 7: Or if I get hurt. I've had to cancel day
- 12:07Speaker 7: of twice. That ain't me. One because of my back.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 4: I forgot about that whole thing. Dang back. In 41,
- 12:18Speaker 4: it's tough.
- 12:19Speaker 6: That was two cancellations for that, right?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 7: And the second one was because of the sickness. That
- 12:25Speaker 7: would have just knocked anybody in the world down. Hard.
- 12:32Speaker 6: At what point does your... It's teams of two, right?
- 12:36Speaker 4: Teams of two.
- 12:36Speaker 6: At what point does your partner in crime and all
- 12:39Speaker 6: this say, you know what? I got to get a
- 12:40Speaker 6: new guy.
- 12:42Speaker 7: Well, I mean, we're... We're winners. We haven't lost in
- 12:44Speaker 7: two years. Well, not a big deal. We just grind
- 12:48Speaker 7: people down. You know what I mean?
- 12:50Speaker 5: Just keep canceling until they forfeit.
- 12:53Speaker 6: We're a ball control golf duo. No, that is serious.
- 12:57Speaker 6: That's the complaint about this tournament every year. It always
- 13:00Speaker 6: lasts until October. This one's going to last until November.
- 13:05Speaker 2: You just said, hold my beer.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Hold my beer.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I got it.
- 13:09Speaker 4: All right. This might be a record.
- 13:11Speaker 2: It's never going to happen.
- 13:12Speaker 4: No, it's going to happen next Tuesday, unless it rains.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Or my back hurts.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Or you got the sniffles.
- 13:19Speaker 4: I'm going. We're going to play. I got to putt
- 13:21Speaker 4: it down the fairway.
- 13:23Speaker 2: No, because you're too competitive for that, bud.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I'd probably win still.
- 13:30Speaker 2: All right. We'll take a break.
- 13:31Speaker 3: More OTB when we come back here live from the
- 13:34Speaker 3: Razor Cane Studio.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Off the bench.

- 15:06Speaker 9: to you by Poncho.
- 15:10Speaker 10: Welcome back in OTB.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Live from the Raising Cane's studio. Bye week for LSU and...
- 15:32Speaker 3: the new orleans saints so anytime you have a bi-week
- 15:37Speaker 3: situation you can kind of dive into a little bit
- 15:40Speaker 3: more of what's going on good or bad in the
- 15:44Speaker 3: case for the new orleans saints as i was sitting
- 15:50Speaker 3: there and i was talking about it yesterday we i
- 15:53Speaker 3: think we did a couple segments on it i did
- 15:55Speaker 3: one in the afternoon as well and i'm like i
- 15:57Speaker 3: mean i'm gonna i sit here now i'm gonna watch
- 15:59Speaker 3: some like some actual end zone copy tape, but just
- 16:03Speaker 3: the run game, just some cutups or whatever. And I
- 16:07Speaker 3: think I felt worse after I did it. Like I
- 16:09Speaker 3: was like hoping I would feel better. Like, you know
- 16:11Speaker 3: how that's close. Or if that guy gets his hat across,
- 16:15Speaker 3: it's going to be there. Or this guy has strong
- 16:18Speaker 3: outside arm presence. It's going to be, I didn't have
- 16:22Speaker 3: that feeling. It's discombobulated. Like, it's like, when a tight
- 16:27Speaker 3: end and a tackler are supposed to be working together
- 16:29Speaker 3: or when a tackle and a guard, any kind of
- 16:30Speaker 3: combo block, it feels like they've never done it together before.
- 16:34Speaker 3: And it also feels like they have a different plan
- 16:37Speaker 3: of what they're supposed to get done, if that makes sense.
- 16:40Speaker 3: And you know this, like when you're really able to
- 16:42Speaker 3: run the football, when you have a combo block. And
- 16:44Speaker 3: so when we're talking about a combo block, let's just
- 16:46Speaker 3: say a guard and a tackle are working from.
- 16:49Speaker 2: The down lineman.
- 16:50Speaker 3: And then one of them is going to go up
- 16:51Speaker 3: to the second level, be it a backer, Maybe if
- 16:54Speaker 3: you're on the outside tight end tackle, maybe it's a
- 16:56Speaker 3: strong safety situation, and you work together in unison to
- 17:00Speaker 3: get to that second level. One's going to peel off eventually.
- 17:02Speaker 3: He's going to get to the second level. It's like
- 17:04Speaker 3: they don't know which one's supposed to get to the
- 17:06Speaker 3: second level. They don't know which one's got the D lineman,
- 17:09Speaker 3: and they'll leave them.
- 17:10Speaker 7: And if it's a combo block, it's those two guys,
- 17:13Speaker 7: they have to go to the second level. So their
- 17:15Speaker 7: responsibility is two people on defense. Now, how they sort
- 17:18Speaker 7: that out is up to them based on a pre-snap look.
- 17:22Speaker 7: So if you have a, whether it's a three tech,
- 17:25Speaker 7: a four tech, a five, wherever the defensive line, so
- 17:28Speaker 7: if you're a guard and somebody, depending on the leverage
- 17:31Speaker 7: of the defensive tackle, if it's you and the offensive
- 17:35Speaker 7: tackle that have to work to the linebacker, the path
- 17:37Speaker 7: of least resistance, right? The person that has the easiest
- 17:40Speaker 7: path to get to the linebacker, they're going to make
- 17:42Speaker 7: that call. Now, it's going to be a call. It's
- 17:45Speaker 7: going to be some sort of, like, maybe it's a
- 17:47Speaker 7: hip tap. Maybe it's some sort of communication between those linemen.
- 17:51Speaker 7: That's going to happen now when that when that communication
- 17:56Speaker 7: gets a little bit further out. So let's just say
- 17:59Speaker 7: it's a offensive tackle and a tight end that's off
- 18:02Speaker 7: the line of scrimmage. Sometimes that communication can be a
- 18:07Speaker 7: little bit more challenging than just like a guard and
- 18:09Speaker 7: a tackle. And then that's why crowd noise plays a
- 18:12Speaker 7: big part sometimes because we always talk about communication, the
- 18:15Speaker 7: quarterback communicating to the linemen and communicating to the running
- 18:18Speaker 7: back and how tough that is and how.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Hard the snap count is.
- 18:21Speaker 7: But the communication that happens between everybody within that tackle box,
- 18:28Speaker 7: within the line of scrimmage, the offensive linemen, the tight ends, receivers,
- 18:33Speaker 7: if they're in a nasty or a tight split, like
- 18:35Speaker 7: in a bunch formation, they're part of it. We showed
- 18:38Speaker 7: a clip a couple weeks ago and Eye in the
- 18:40Speaker 7: Sky about how I didn't love LSU's run game plan.
- 18:44Speaker 7: I can't remember which game this was. Maybe this was Kentucky.
- 18:47Speaker 7: I can't remember which game it was. I didn't love
- 18:49Speaker 7: their run game plan because they were pulling. They were
- 18:51Speaker 7: doing so many different pullers on the road, and the
- 18:54Speaker 7: communication and the coordination.
- 18:56Speaker 2: That it took.
- 18:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it was because they had a bunch
- 18:59Speaker 7: of– they were doing, like, sweeps and things and pulling
- 19:02Speaker 7: a lot of people with tight receivers and bunch formations
- 19:06Speaker 7: where there's just a lot to sort out. A lot
- 19:08Speaker 7: to communicate there. So that communication is done before the snap.
- 19:15Speaker 7: And if it's not correct, then everybody looks better. I'm
- 19:18Speaker 7: not saying that's what it is with the Saints. It's
- 19:20Speaker 7: probably a little. It seems like it's a little bit
- 19:22Speaker 7: or a lot a bit of everything that they're not
- 19:25Speaker 7: communicating well. They're not being coached to do the right
- 19:27Speaker 7: things well. They're getting whipped one-on-one. It just seems like
- 19:31Speaker 7: an accumulation or an amalgamation of a lot of different things.
- 19:35Speaker 7: And good luck putting your finger on one. I'm being like, well,
- 19:39Speaker 7: this is the reason. I think the game plan stinks.
- 19:42Speaker 1: It does.
- 19:43Speaker 4: I think they're getting their butts whipped.
- 19:45Speaker 7: And I think they're i think they're probably confident confidence
- 19:49Speaker 7: is shot so they're not playing with any swagger like
- 19:53Speaker 7: running games a swag thing professional sports is a swag
- 19:58Speaker 7: thing it's a confidence thing so like if you're getting
- 20:00Speaker 7: your butt whipped if you don't have confidence in the
- 20:02Speaker 7: person calling the play if you don't have confidence in
- 20:05Speaker 7: the person next to you on the field.
- 20:09Speaker 3: It's hard Here's another thing that I noticed watching the
- 20:13Speaker 3: Saints run game. If you're doing something and it's not working,
- 20:19Speaker 3: why do you continue to do it? So they either
- 20:22Speaker 3: run inside or outside zone 60% of the time. They've
- 20:28Speaker 3: run a little, I mean, just the tiniest bit of duo.
- 20:32Speaker 3: They've run counter nine times, maybe 10 times. They've run more.
- 20:39Speaker 2: They've run.
- 20:40Speaker 3: More draw plays than they have counter plays. And they
- 20:44Speaker 3: haven't run power yet. Is Brian Kelly a special consultant?
- 20:48Speaker 2: He must be.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Because if I was bad at running zone runs, which
- 20:52Speaker 3: they are, 60% of their runs are either inside or
- 20:54Speaker 3: outside zone. Even if I don't think, even if I
- 20:59Speaker 3: don't think I can get it done, I would have
- 21:02Speaker 3: to try a gap scheme.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I just, I would.
- 21:05Speaker 3: I would have to try more counter, which is you've
- 21:07Speaker 3: got two pullers coming around, the running back's aiming for
- 21:09Speaker 3: the B-gap, and that's where that's supposed to hit, your
- 21:12Speaker 3: B-gap to expand. Or I'd run a power, one single puller, right?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Running back going downhill at the A-gap until something forces
- 21:20Speaker 3: him out of the A-gap. It's a downhill play. Even
- 21:23Speaker 3: if I thought I'd be bad at it, I'm really
- 21:26Speaker 3: bad at running inside and outside zone. So why in
- 21:30Speaker 3: the world would I not at least try to do
- 21:32Speaker 3: it during a game. Like right now, currently, you have
- 21:35Speaker 3: a rookie offensive lineman playing at right guard. Sometimes the
- 21:40Speaker 3: best thing for a rookie is pull and go hit somebody.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Just go pull, you've done it your whole life, and
- 21:46Speaker 3: go hit somebody. And that gets them in the game.
- 21:48Speaker 3: That calms them down because they've done it so many
- 21:51Speaker 3: times and you just get the hit color based off,
- 21:53Speaker 3: you know, are you going to kick the guy out
- 21:55Speaker 3: or are you going to log him? I just don't
- 21:58Speaker 3: understand if you're so bad at doing something why you
- 22:00Speaker 3: would keep doing more of the same thing And then
- 22:03Speaker 3: you look at it, and you're not running any kind
- 22:06Speaker 3: of gap scheme stuff.
- 22:07Speaker 2: You're just running all zone stuff.
- 22:12Speaker 7: This past weekend in the running game, it looked like
- 22:15Speaker 7: there was a very good, physically talented, experienced, but really
- 22:22Speaker 7: smart defensive line that was playing against an offensive line
- 22:26Speaker 7: that's struggling to find its identity and struggling to have
- 22:29Speaker 7: any success. So they're trying to do everything perfect in
- 22:32Speaker 7: a blocking scheme. And when you do things perfect, you telegraph.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 7: You telegraph exactly what's coming. And when you play a
- 22:40Speaker 7: really talented, smart, experienced defensive line, they're going to see
- 22:46Speaker 7: a guard and a center working together or making these
- 22:49Speaker 7: little calls before the snap. They're going to hear all that.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Yeah. Like, good.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Good NFL defenses with experienced players, they listen to every
- 23:00Speaker 7: single word. They shut up. They don't talk trash. They
- 23:03Speaker 7: sit there and they focus in and they hear every
- 23:06Speaker 7: single word a quarterback says. They hear every single word
- 23:11Speaker 7: a center yells out to everybody else. That's why as
- 23:14Speaker 7: an offense, like if you are. got experience and you
- 23:18Speaker 7: got a little swag to you that's when you start
- 23:19Speaker 7: saying fake words and that's when you start like trying
- 23:22Speaker 7: to mess with the defense that's when you're playing with
- 23:24Speaker 7: confidence this saints team is not playing with any confidence
- 23:26Speaker 7: they're probably if i had to guess walking up to
- 23:28Speaker 7: the line of scrimmage making the exact call and as
- 23:32Speaker 7: soon as they do and there's probably like there's probably
- 23:35Speaker 7: one person calling the mic for runs and then tyler's
- 23:37Speaker 7: calling the mic for pass plays yeah that's probably it's
- 23:40Speaker 7: probably it's like there's probably something as simple as that
- 23:42Speaker 7: so like okay it's a run Because I've been in
- 23:44Speaker 7: offenses like that, in the pros before. We had to
- 23:47Speaker 7: specifically start calling fake mics because we had a tendency ourselves.
- 23:51Speaker 7: With one of the best offenses in the league, in
- 23:53Speaker 7: Green Bay, we had to start calling mics during running
- 23:57Speaker 7: plays because it was a tell. When you have an
- 24:00Speaker 7: offense that's trying to find itself and improve and having
- 24:04Speaker 7: no success, it's just like the coaches are probably like,
- 24:07Speaker 7: we've got to get back to the basics.
- 24:08Speaker 4: We're going to go.
- 24:09Speaker 7: It's going to be mic here. Y'all are going to tell.
- 24:11Speaker 7: Y'all are going to combo block up to the, to
- 24:14Speaker 7: the will. And this is the call you make for
- 24:15Speaker 7: the combo block. Well, it's just like anything. Like when
- 24:19Speaker 7: we hear a quarterback call river, river, river, we know
- 24:22Speaker 7: something's going right.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 7: If they call it Lake, Lake, Lake, we know it's
- 24:24Speaker 7: going left. Well, the defensive tackles know that too. I
- 24:27Speaker 7: can only imagine how that experience veteran talented defensive line
- 24:33Speaker 7: was just listening and knowing every single run play.
- 24:37Speaker 4: That was coming.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:38Speaker 7: Cam Hayward probably had a pretty good idea. You don't
- 24:41Speaker 7: think that they probably– and they watch TV copies too.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 7: We watch TV copies throughout the week to get any
- 24:47Speaker 7: code words, to hear anything because you got all the microphones.
- 24:50Speaker 7: You don't get that on the All-22.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:51Speaker 7: They're professionals for a reason, and they've been professionals for
- 24:57Speaker 7: a long time for a very good reason.
- 24:59Speaker 3: And Alondra and I both sent this in the chat yesterday.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You had a Steelers linebacker that said he noticed on
- 25:05Speaker 3: film that Tyler Shuck wasn't making any checks himself.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And that Kellen Moore relayed the checks in.
- 25:13Speaker 3: And so then there's tape of the Steelers' defense staying
- 25:17Speaker 3: in position until the play clock got to under 15 seconds,
- 25:22Speaker 3: where the communication goes down, and then that's when they
- 25:24Speaker 3: were stemming to different stuff. That's when the linebackers, as
- 25:28Speaker 3: soon as the clock got to 14 and the comms
- 25:30Speaker 3: cut off, there's videos.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That's not real, is it? Yeah, there's videos of the.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Kellen Moore was making the checks? The Steelers linebacker.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 25:40Speaker 2: That's what the linebacker from the Steelers said.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Might as well put it right there.
- 25:44Speaker 2: That he noticed on film that they weren't doing it.
- 25:47Speaker 5: It is real because Nick wrote about it. I saw
- 25:50Speaker 5: Nick tweeted. He wrote about it last year. So they
- 25:53Speaker 5: did it last year too.
- 25:54Speaker 7: What we're going to do next, have like big people
- 25:56Speaker 7: with like the big index cards.
- 25:58Speaker 4: On the sideline.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I love those.
- 25:59Speaker 4: And the Teletubbies dancing around.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yes. That's my favorite.
- 26:03Speaker 4: That's stupid.
- 26:04Speaker 5: I love the Teletubbies.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Got the five crayons over there.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Now I realize why the Saints are bad. It's their
- 26:12Speaker 4: college team.
- 26:15Speaker 7: It doesn't work in the NFL because people are smart.
- 26:22Speaker 4: And again, that's the biggest difference, right?
- 26:25Speaker 7: When you go to NFL, from college to NFL, people
- 26:29Speaker 7: are good and physically the best, right?
- 26:32Speaker 4: But it's the IQ. It's football IQ. It's what makes
- 26:35Speaker 4: the difference. Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I thought– I don't– how do you say this without
- 26:40Speaker 3: being disrespectful to college football?
- 26:41Speaker 7: Because at that time, it is what it is. You're
- 26:43Speaker 7: learning everything because you're a college kid.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and you think you know– and you do. Like,
- 26:48Speaker 2: we had a– I.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Think we had a more difficult offense to learn with
- 26:50Speaker 3: Jimbo than most people would. But once you get to
- 26:55Speaker 3: that next level, like, you have to– you have to
- 26:58Speaker 3: put things on people's plates. You have to push their
- 27:02Speaker 3: limit of what they can learn in their football IQ.
- 27:04Speaker 7: How many really good football players you saw got cut
- 27:08Speaker 7: for people that weren't quite as good at football as them,
- 27:12Speaker 7: but they could hold a lot more on their plate?
- 27:14Speaker 3: And they could go full speed because they went full
- 27:15Speaker 3: speed with confidence because they knew what they were doing.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Where the guy that's faster is playing two steps behind,
- 27:20Speaker 3: and so now their speed's the same.
- 27:22Speaker 4: I think these slappies made it.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Yeah. It's not because we're physical freaks.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Speak for yourself, bud. So, 55 yards.
- 27:31Speaker 2: In the air.
- 27:32Speaker 3: When we, and I know you hate this, but we
- 27:35Speaker 3: used to start, I'd start outside, line up a receiver,
- 27:38Speaker 3: and then motion back in to the backfield.
- 27:42Speaker 2: That's fine. I didn't get the Mike call on the road.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I had to know who we were declaring Mike.
- 27:48Speaker 3: I had to know, based on our offense, based off
- 27:50Speaker 3: the look, as I'm motioning in from outside to the backfield,
- 27:54Speaker 3: all right, here's who we would declare Mike.
- 27:56Speaker 2: That's the Mike. Because I had pass protection.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I had the next two guys pass the mic. I
- 28:01Speaker 3: had the Sam and the strong safety in the corner,
- 28:03Speaker 3: so actually three.
- 28:05Speaker 2: And you have to know that.
- 28:06Speaker 3: And they have to trust that you know within the
- 28:08Speaker 3: offense where we would point the mic here. And if
- 28:10Speaker 3: it was something where it was a foobar, then we'd
- 28:14Speaker 3: communicate that.
- 28:14Speaker 2: What does that mean? F-dub be on all recognition.
- 28:22Speaker 4: I said repair. That too. Works. Same thing. That's the
- 28:27Speaker 4: same thing. pretty much yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Anywho saints stink and they keep running the same run play.
- 28:34Speaker 3: 60 of the time even though it works zero percent
- 28:39Speaker 3: of the time.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Look so far in the season.
- 28:42Speaker 7: Team stinks coaches stink front office stinks that's the that's
- 28:48Speaker 7: that's actual facts based on this part of the season
- 28:50Speaker 7: now can they change it absolutely so go change it
- 28:53Speaker 7: next week i want to say.

- 31:58Speaker 3: me ask you a question about.
- 32:00Speaker 2: The Saints, QB1.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Saved his life, yes.
- 32:04Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints center Eric McCoy said the run game
- 32:07Speaker 3: struggles are putting too much pressure on Tyler Shuck to
- 32:11Speaker 3: do everything.
- 32:12Speaker 2: And the results, well, we kind of know what they've been.
- 32:16Speaker 2: He said, I think Tyler is a baller.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I think he's the future of the franchise, and I
- 32:20Speaker 3: just feel like we put a lot of pressure on
- 32:22Speaker 3: him today, and that's not fair to him.
- 32:26Speaker 2: And I know exactly what he's talking about.
- 32:28Speaker 3: When you can't run the football, when you run it
- 32:32Speaker 3: 17 times for 18 yards, and Tyler Shuck is going
- 32:36Speaker 3: to be as mature as any second-year quarterback, and I'm
- 32:38Speaker 3: not even talking about just his age and how old
- 32:40Speaker 3: he is, but if you've ever met or had a
- 32:42Speaker 3: conversation with him, he's going to be as mature as
- 32:45Speaker 3: any of them.
- 32:46Speaker 2: But still, he's a second-year player.
- 32:49Speaker 3: And I think sometimes we all forget that because of
- 32:52Speaker 3: how mature he is. The second-year player that you're saying, hey,
- 32:57Speaker 3: we can't run the football at all. We need you
- 32:59Speaker 3: to throw for 250 and three touchdowns if you could.
- 33:02Speaker 2: That'd be nice.
- 33:03Speaker 4: If you could do that.
- 33:04Speaker 3: And when you've got a veteran player like Eric McCoy,
- 33:07Speaker 3: who's obviously going to have a deep relationship with his quarterback, saying, hey,
- 33:10Speaker 3: we're putting too much on this guy's plate because we're
- 33:14Speaker 3: asking him to be.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Superman, right?
- 33:17Speaker 7: I think everybody in that building knows they got a,
- 33:20Speaker 7: what should be a franchise quarterback, what could be a
- 33:23Speaker 7: franchise quarterback. And I say should be and could be
- 33:26Speaker 7: because this, this far into his career, the saints have
- 33:32Speaker 7: been a disaster.
- 33:35Speaker 4: That's not an opinion. That is, that's facts. They've been
- 33:38Speaker 4: a disaster.
- 33:40Speaker 7: Um, Tyler Shuck is 100% absolutely been put in an
- 33:44Speaker 7: unfair situation. It is unfair to ask him to go
- 33:47Speaker 7: out there as a second-year player that didn't even start
- 33:49Speaker 7: the entire first season. That started halfway through his first season.
- 33:56Speaker 7: To ask a second-year player to go and win every
- 34:00Speaker 7: single game with your right arm. And guess what? We're
- 34:05Speaker 7: not going to help you. Well, we're going to help
- 34:07Speaker 7: you because we got a really good receiver. And receivers
- 34:10Speaker 7: have been a bright point of this, of the year.
- 34:13Speaker 7: John Johnson has been a bright point at times, but
- 34:17Speaker 7: it is a hundred percent unfair to ask that go
- 34:21Speaker 7: win every single time we step on the field.
- 34:25Speaker 4: I need you to win it. Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 7: And we do, we get a little, we do get
- 34:29Speaker 7: a little bit, I find myself forgetting that he's a
- 34:32Speaker 7: second year guy because of like, he, well, win the
- 34:36Speaker 7: last five games of the season last year, which was
- 34:39Speaker 7: an incredible feat to do, especially with who he was
- 34:41Speaker 7: throwing to at the time.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Yeah. That's why we were so hopeful going into this
- 34:45Speaker 4: year because, you know, you kind of.
- 34:47Speaker 7: You reset everything. You reset everybody's health. You go into
- 34:49Speaker 7: a fresh season, got another year under your belt. Kellen Moore,
- 34:52Speaker 7: you got another year under your belt. I mean, it's
- 34:54Speaker 7: got to be better, right? It's got to be better.
- 34:57Speaker 7: Everybody gets better with experience. Well, they've gotten worse.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 7: They've gotten worse and it continues to get worse every week.
- 35:06Speaker 7: It's disappointing to watch because if there was no bright
- 35:15Speaker 7: spots of the team, then it'd just.
- 35:17Speaker 4: Be like, well, this stinks. This stinks.
- 35:19Speaker 7: Well, now it's upsetting to watch because you see you
- 35:24Speaker 7: got the piece that everybody wants. You found the guy
- 35:29Speaker 7: that should be a franchise quarterback. How hard is that
- 35:33Speaker 7: to find?
- 35:34Speaker 4: Ask the Browns. Ask like all these teams that can't
- 35:37Speaker 4: find one. Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 7: Saints had one for a long time. And that's a
- 35:43Speaker 7: blessing to have. And to be able to find another
- 35:45Speaker 7: one that you think could be another one, like that's
- 35:48Speaker 7: what's like, that is what's hit your head against the wall.
- 35:52Speaker 7: Disappointing and frustrating is they found another one. They got
- 35:57Speaker 7: one and they are doing nothing. Absolutely squat.
- 36:03Speaker 4: To help them.
- 36:04Speaker 7: And that starts with the owner. And it starts with
- 36:07Speaker 7: everybody underneath that. Everybody's responsible.
- 36:12Speaker 3: And you could make the argument, what do you mean?
- 36:14Speaker 3: They signed, you know, Chris Alave to this huge deal.
- 36:19Speaker 2: It's like, okay, but.
- 36:19Speaker 4: That was a no-brainer.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I was just about to say that that's an easy deal, actually.
- 36:25Speaker 3: And, like, on a 53-man roster, I don't know where
- 36:29Speaker 3: in the world the Saints would be without Chase Young,
- 36:31Speaker 3: Tyler Shuck, and Chris Alave. As bad as they are,
- 36:34Speaker 3: think how much worse it would be. Without those three players,
- 36:38Speaker 3: you can't have an NFL team based off three players.
- 36:41Speaker 3: It doesn't matter how good. It could be the greatest
- 36:44Speaker 3: three players that you've ever seen.
- 36:45Speaker 2: It doesn't matter.
- 36:46Speaker 3: You can't be successful with three players. And so you
- 36:49Speaker 3: can say, well, they also helped him out by getting
- 36:53Speaker 3: Jordan Tyson in the draft.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Did they?
- 36:55Speaker 3: He's very talented, incredibly talented. But this is why he
- 36:59Speaker 3: had red flags in the draft.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Because he didn't play.
- 37:03Speaker 3: And now we're going into a bye week situation. where
- 37:06Speaker 3: you've played seven games and he hadn't played. Right now,
- 37:10Speaker 3: it doesn't feel like close to play.
- 37:12Speaker 7: You would have helped Tyler Shuck. You would have helped
- 37:15Speaker 7: him more by drafting a linebacker. That's not even trying
- 37:20Speaker 7: to be funny.
- 37:21Speaker 2: No, 100%.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Think about this. The Saints are awful.
- 37:26Speaker 7: They have a dominant edge pass rusher, a young franchise
- 37:32Speaker 7: quarterback on a rookie.
- 37:33Speaker 4: Contract, and one of the top receivers in the league.
- 37:35Speaker 4: And they stink.
- 37:38Speaker 7: Those are the three things people die for. Those are
- 37:42Speaker 7: the things people trade their draft class for. And you
- 37:46Speaker 7: got all three.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Fix it. Can they fix it? Can they fix it?
- 38:01Speaker 4: They fix it.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 38:04Speaker 4: The answers.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I don't think they can.
- 38:07Speaker 4: They can't. Someone else can.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Not going to be successful.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Just not going to be when you have situation where
- 38:19Speaker 3: if you take three players off that team, you'd be.
- 38:23Speaker 2: A winless football team.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, yeah, maybe one.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Maybe one of the three.
- 38:31Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 38:31Speaker 2: I think you're exactly right in that situation as well.
- 38:35Speaker 3: It's, um, And I do want to point out, like,
- 38:39Speaker 3: Chase Young, I'll throw Carl Granderson in that conversation as well.
- 38:43Speaker 7: So there's a lot of guys on defense playing, but
- 38:45Speaker 7: I brought him up specifically because everybody looks for that
- 38:47Speaker 7: edge rusher, right?
- 38:48Speaker 4: That's when they get paid the big bucks.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 38:50Speaker 4: There's a lot of guys on that defense playing their
- 38:52Speaker 4: ass off.
- 38:53Speaker 3: I'll go through the list because I made a list earlier.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I'll give you the players that I think right now
- 38:58Speaker 3: are playing winning football on a 53-man roster, okay? Chris Alave,
- 39:04Speaker 3: Devon Bailey. Eric McCoy, Tyler Shuck. Sort of Caden Ellis,
- 39:13Speaker 3: but he hadn't been healthy. I'll throw it out there
- 39:15Speaker 3: just for numbers sake. Carl Granderson and Chase Young. That's
- 39:22Speaker 3: seven of 53 that I think are playing winning football.
- 39:25Speaker 3: Not to say that everybody else on that team is
- 39:27Speaker 3: not straining and playing hard. That's not this conversation. But
- 39:31Speaker 3: playing winning NFL football, I feel like there's seven guys
- 39:34Speaker 3: right now that you can point to and say that's
- 39:36Speaker 3: winning football and national football.
- 39:37Speaker 7: I think there's a lot of guys on the team
- 39:38Speaker 7: that can play winning football if they were.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Put in a better situation, put in a better spot.
- 39:44Speaker 2: That's fair, too.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 39:46Speaker 7: The rest of them aren't bad football. They could be
- 39:49Speaker 7: really good football players if they're putting in a better spot,
- 39:51Speaker 7: a more advantageous position.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Hey, a bit of laundry.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Don't worry.
- 39:58Speaker 11: What?
- 39:58Speaker 5: A lot of football left?
- 40:00Speaker 4: A lot of football left.
- 40:00Speaker 5: A lot of football left.
- 40:01Speaker 4: A lot of football left. Got time to turn this
- 40:03Speaker 4: thing around.
- 40:03Speaker 5: And I don't really want to watch anymore.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Kellen, he's working on it, though.
- 40:07Speaker 4: He's working on it.
- 40:09Speaker 7: Kellen, what's one of the main things that y'all got
- 40:13Speaker 7: to look at and focus on, Kellen?
- 40:15Speaker 4: I think it's fair to say we've got to evaluate.
- 40:18Speaker 11: That.
- 40:19Speaker 4: You've got to evaluate your evaluation.
- 40:24Speaker 3: And on that note, we'll take a break. More OTB
- 40:26Speaker 3: when we come back here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 40:51Speaker 9: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 40:54Speaker 9: to you by Poncho.
- 41:02Speaker 11: I'll always think of you inside of my private thoughts.
- 41:07Speaker 11: Can't imagine you touching my private heart.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Welcome back in OTB here live from the Razor Cane Studio.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Every single Wednesday brought to you by Poncho. PonchoOutdoors.com is
- 41:21Speaker 3: the website. PonchoOutdoors.com slash off the bench to find those
- 41:26Speaker 3: LSU shirts that you see in the little panel behind
- 41:29Speaker 3: us as well. I mean, they have incredible one of
- 41:32Speaker 3: a kind LSU shirts. Nobody does it better. Love going
- 41:36Speaker 3: on the road with the Tigers and half.
- 41:38Speaker 2: The planes wearing Poncho. The other half's wearing LSU gear.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And the other half's wearing poncho. Yep.
- 41:45Speaker 4: They got some, they're starting to release their denim shirts
- 41:48Speaker 4: as well. They're long. I'm fired up for the long
- 41:52Speaker 4: sleeve season. We got some good looking long sleeve stuff.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Again, poncho outdoors.com slash off the bench. You know, just
- 42:00Speaker 3: kind of wrapping up some of our new Orleans saints conversation. Again,
- 42:04Speaker 3: you just continue to be bad running the football and
- 42:06Speaker 3: you continue running the same runs.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Just makes no sense to me. Try something different.
- 42:10Speaker 3: There's, There's just too many other options, too many concepts
- 42:14Speaker 3: that you could run, and don't tell me you can't
- 42:16Speaker 3: do it.
- 42:17Speaker 2: When football started, gap scheme started.
- 42:20Speaker 3: You've been doing it for as long as football's been football.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Try it out.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Give it a try because you can't do the other
- 42:26Speaker 3: thing that you're trying to do over and over again.
- 42:29Speaker 3: And I know there's a lot of people that want
- 42:30Speaker 3: to point to, oh, Tyler Sheck's only good in garbage time. Well,
- 42:34Speaker 3: the whole game's garbage time with the New Orleans Saints.
- 42:37Speaker 3: So that's his situation. That's what he gets to play
- 42:39Speaker 3: in because it's that bad.
- 42:42Speaker 2: At this point.
- 42:44Speaker 3: I mean, you have an offensive line right now that
- 42:46Speaker 3: outside of Eric McCoy, they're not giving you anything.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 42:51Speaker 3: And if Banks comes back, that's going to be, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 3: something that could benefit you. I mean, Jawan Johnson's playing
- 42:57Speaker 3: okay at tight end. Noah Phan had a game. Oscar
- 43:00Speaker 3: Delp's been a disappointment. Just not a lot to point
- 43:03Speaker 3: to to make you feel better about the situation. And
- 43:07Speaker 3: now at this point, You might not even be thinking
- 43:10Speaker 3: about Jordan Tyson. And, like, you might be like, hey, well,
- 43:12Speaker 3: maybe we just sit him. I don't want that because, like,
- 43:15Speaker 3: you took him eight overall. But, like, that's a situation, too.
- 43:19Speaker 3: That's going to get us.
- 43:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I would think everybody's coaching for their jobs right now.
- 43:22Speaker 7: They've got to at least think that. So, they're probably
- 43:25Speaker 7: going to put everybody they can out there, I would think.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Based on.
- 43:31Speaker 7: The comments from Gail Benson and then the performance since then.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I guess you did win a game.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Just think if that pass gets completed to Isaiah, likely
- 43:43Speaker 3: in the end zone. When the Giants tied it up.
- 43:49Speaker 7: After 9, threw for 250 in the fourth?
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yep.
- 43:53Speaker 4: 248, excuse me.
- 43:58Speaker 3: That's the issue for me, is I can't point to
- 44:02Speaker 3: a path down the road.
- 44:05Speaker 2: That is going to be successful.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Like, oftentimes, like, if you have a situation like this,
- 44:10Speaker 3: you say, okay, well, if you get to this situation,
- 44:12Speaker 3: if you make a move in.
- 44:13Speaker 2: The offseason, you get this position, you draft well.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I just don't know that they're anywhere close to that
- 44:19Speaker 3: conversation right now. No, no.
- 44:21Speaker 7: And they might win a game. Hell, they might even
- 44:23Speaker 7: win two. Hey, let's do more positive things next hour.
- 44:33Speaker 3: All right. Dr.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Steven Etheridge joins us.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Oh, that's positive. Injuries.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Coach Kim Mulkey joins us. All in our number two.
- 44:41Speaker 4: We're on TV.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 44:44Speaker 2: I'll say more of getting to see, Doc. Ah, yes.
- 44:46Speaker 4: It's very positive.
- 44:47Speaker 2: We'll talk about other injuries. How about that? Perfect. Go
