- 0:29Speaker 3: dot com. Good morning, everybody, Happy Thursday. I have an
- 0:36Speaker 3: amazing show for everybody today when we have Crystal.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Indeed, we do a lot of breaking news once again
- 0:40Speaker 2: with regard to our war on Iran. Bombs are flying,
- 0:43Speaker 2: there are some indications maybe they are still working on
- 0:46Speaker 2: a deal behind the scenes.
- 0:47Speaker 4: We will sort through it all.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Trump making some wild comments and threats as well, so
- 0:51Speaker 2: we'll play that for you too. Professor Morandi is going
- 0:54Speaker 2: to join us for the Iranian perspective. What he thinks
- 0:57Speaker 2: is going on and may happen next Brandon Ker also
- 1:00Speaker 2: going to be back with us, so we covered with
- 1:02Speaker 2: him previously the efforts to integrate the Israeli military with
- 1:06Speaker 2: our military. Apparently they're also trying to fully integrate the
- 1:09Speaker 2: Israeli intelligence apparatus with our intelligence apparatus and to legislate
- 1:15Speaker 2: that this is legally mandated no matter what a future
- 1:18Speaker 2: president may want to do. So he's going to get
- 1:20Speaker 2: into all of that and also react to a very
- 1:23Speaker 2: troubling report from legendary journalist si Hirsh that Trump has
- 1:27Speaker 2: in fact floated a using ANUK in Iran, So get
- 1:32Speaker 2: his thoughts on all of that. We've also got some
- 1:34Speaker 2: other wild Trump comments on the economy. He says he
- 1:37Speaker 2: loves the inflation. We will get you the Republican reaction.
- 1:41Speaker 2: We also have a huge story in terms of the
- 1:43Speaker 2: stock market with the space x IPO going forward, this
- 1:47Speaker 2: is going to be one way or another, extremely consequential,
- 1:50Speaker 2: so we want to take another look at that. And
- 1:53Speaker 2: then we've got Mika Brazinski with a wild question to
- 1:56Speaker 2: Graham Platner and an excerpt in The New York Times
- 1:59Speaker 2: of explosive behind the scenes information about how all of
- 2:04Speaker 2: the Epstein files machinations went down behind the scenes. This
- 2:07Speaker 2: is Maggie Haberman, and it's pretty interesting what they are
- 2:12Speaker 2: claiming happened with regards to remember the binders that went
- 2:15Speaker 2: to the influencers, Pam Bondy making a mess of things.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Who was arguing for what behind the scenes, and what
- 2:21Speaker 2: the president was up to during that time.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say it doesn't make a single person
- 2:26Speaker 3: in there look good. Thank you everybody subscribing to the
- 2:28Speaker 3: show Breakingpoints dot com to support our work.
- 2:31Speaker 1: All of us up all hours.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Of the night monitoring all these missiles flying all over
- 2:35Speaker 3: So please support us if you can, and if you're
- 2:37Speaker 3: watching this on YouTube, hit subscribe, listen to the podcast,
- 2:40Speaker 3: share an episode with a friend. But as Chrystal said,
- 2:42Speaker 3: we're going to go ahead and start with all of
- 2:43Speaker 3: the craziness in the Middle East right now. Let's go
- 2:45Speaker 3: ahead and start first. What we have here is the
- 2:48Speaker 3: United States Navy releasing this disabling another tanker in the
- 2:52Speaker 3: Gulf of Oman. You can see that they shot two
- 2:55Speaker 3: hell fire missile at the boiler room. This is the
- 2:58Speaker 3: third tanker that's been disabled in an of days. Where
- 3:00Speaker 3: you're watching it. Here is actually an Iranian missile barrage
- 3:03Speaker 3: on an Air Force base in Jordan. Very noteworthy because
- 3:06Speaker 3: Jordan had not come under nearly as much attack. You
- 3:09Speaker 3: can see that some of the missiles were intercepted. Iranians
- 3:12Speaker 3: are claiming otherwise. This is a very important one. What
- 3:15Speaker 3: you're watching in front of you are actually Tomahawk missiles
- 3:18Speaker 3: which were fired from a US destroyer somewhere in the
- 3:22Speaker 3: Persian Gulf. But the reason why this is very important
- 3:24Speaker 3: from a military perspective is that it shows, even nearly
- 3:28Speaker 3: one hundred days now into the war, is that the
- 3:30Speaker 3: United States did not want to risk actually sending planes
- 3:34Speaker 3: over Iran, remember, because we had multiple shootdown instances.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So these are standoff munitions Tomahawks.
- 3:40Speaker 3: It is estimated that in the thirty nine days, maybe
- 3:43Speaker 3: thirty eight days of conflict, the United States spent thirty
- 3:46Speaker 3: percent of its entire Tomahawk missile inventory. So another fifty
- 3:50Speaker 3: Tomahawk missiles per the President and the White House that
- 3:53Speaker 3: were fired as of last night. Very noteworthy in the
- 3:56Speaker 3: fact that they were used. We also know from the
- 3:59Speaker 3: targeting many of the targets in Iran appear to all
- 4:02Speaker 3: be air base and radar systems which are along the
- 4:05Speaker 3: Straits Strait of Hormuz. Why does that matter because it
- 4:09Speaker 3: shows remaining that the US remains be deeviled by this problem.
- 4:13Speaker 3: We were told that the Navy was eliminated, that the
- 4:15Speaker 3: air force was eliminated.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Not even true.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Just saw video literally came out today released by the
- 4:19Speaker 3: Irridians of one of their fighter jets actually landing on
- 4:23Speaker 3: an air base. But it does show that they are
- 4:25Speaker 3: still bedeviled by that problem. Many of these installation sites
- 4:28Speaker 3: all along the Straight of Hormuz, and the most single,
- 4:31Speaker 3: most important use is those Tomahawk missiles. It tells us
- 4:34Speaker 3: they still do not want to risk sending planes over
- 4:36Speaker 3: Iran in the case that they get shot down, just
- 4:38Speaker 3: showing their overall military strength. So we did have Fox
- 4:42Speaker 3: News reporter Trey Yanks. He got a call straight from
- 4:44Speaker 3: the situation room last night. Let's take a listen.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Now, I just spoke with President Trump, who is currently
- 4:49Speaker 5: in the situation room with Vice President jd Vance along
- 4:52Speaker 5: with Special Envoys Kushner and Witkoff. The President giving new
- 4:56Speaker 5: insight into what is taking place as we speak. There
- 4:59Speaker 5: is an all ongoing bombing campaign against the Iranian regime.
- 5:03Speaker 5: The President tells Fox News that forty nine Tomahawk missiles
- 5:07Speaker 5: were used to hit targets inside of Iran, some of
- 5:10Speaker 5: them as close as forty miles from the Iranian capital
- 5:13Speaker 5: of Tehran. The President said that US fighter jets are
- 5:17Speaker 5: also operating over the skies of Iran, taking out radar
- 5:20Speaker 5: systems and air defense systems in the southwestern part of
- 5:24Speaker 5: the country close to the Persian Gulf. This is all
- 5:27Speaker 5: taking place as the Iranians are trying to get the
- 5:30Speaker 5: United States to stop the bombing campaign. President Trump told
- 5:34Speaker 5: me that Iran called him tonight tap Iranian officials and
- 5:37Speaker 5: President Trump spoke directly, according to the Commander in Chief,
- 5:41Speaker 5: tonight as the President was sitting in the situation room,
- 5:45Speaker 5: and he told me that the Iranians asked them to
- 5:48Speaker 5: stop bombing. And the President said to me, the bombing
- 5:51Speaker 5: will stop shortly. I asked him what will happen if
- 5:54Speaker 5: the Iranians do not sign an agreement that was put
- 5:58Speaker 5: forward by American negotiators. Trump said, quote, We'll bomb the
- 6:02Speaker 5: s out of them tomorrow night. I asked the President
- 6:05Speaker 5: if the seasfire is over. He told me this was
- 6:07Speaker 5: the most violated seasfire in the history of the world.
- 6:10Speaker 5: He also spoke about the broader situation, and Vice President JD.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Vance also spoke momentarily. The phone at one point was
- 6:18Speaker 5: on speaker, and the Vice President talked about how this
- 6:22Speaker 5: negotiating team has dealt with the Iranians, understanding that they
- 6:26Speaker 5: have to deal with both moderates and more extreme voices
- 6:28Speaker 5: inside of Iran.
- 6:30Speaker 1: We will bomb this shit out of them.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Trump told Trey, like his attempt to censor there on
- 6:35Speaker 3: cable television, we were going to bomb the shit out
- 6:38Speaker 3: of them today if they do not sign a deal.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I'm sure that if we just bombed them for the
- 6:42Speaker 3: thirty ninth time, that this time everything will work out.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Let's put an A three up here on the screen.
- 6:48Speaker 3: The immediate response from the Iranians. Iran has declared the
- 6:51Speaker 3: Strait of Hormuz close to all shipping and has worn
- 6:54Speaker 3: any vessel will be targeted. The Armed Forces top operational command,
- 6:58Speaker 3: responsible for coordinating military operations, says the following, following the
- 7:02Speaker 3: criminal aggressions of the American enemy and considering the launch
- 7:04Speaker 3: of new attacks by the Invadi Army, that the country
- 7:07Speaker 3: is on the area of the South Province from this
- 7:08Speaker 3: moment ago due to insecurity in the region. The Strait
- 7:11Speaker 3: of Hormuz is declared closed for passage for all types
- 7:14Speaker 3: of vessels, including oil tankers and commercial ships. Any movement
- 7:18Speaker 3: of vessels through the strait will be targeted, and the
- 7:21Speaker 3: American claim regarding the past of his ship through the
- 7:23Speaker 3: strait is false. This was after Sentcom had denied that.
- 7:26Speaker 2: They're also and they're also denying Trump said in that
- 7:29Speaker 2: you know, to trade inks reportedly that he had spoken
- 7:32Speaker 2: directly with the Iranians. They are also denying that that
- 7:35Speaker 2: is going on. And I mean the one area where
- 7:38Speaker 2: they are in agreement is Trump said is the most
- 7:40Speaker 2: violated ceasefire in the history of time. And they also
- 7:43Speaker 2: are saying that, you know this, these attacks have made
- 7:46Speaker 2: the truce completely meaningless.
- 7:48Speaker 4: So today seems.
- 7:49Speaker 2: To be a really pivotal day, given that Trump is saying,
- 7:53Speaker 2: either we're going to have some sort of a deal,
- 7:55Speaker 2: you know, we're going to bomb them into negotiating, which
- 7:58Speaker 2: is something that he's been convinced of before, that if
- 8:00Speaker 2: we just have a little more violence, one more attack,
- 8:03Speaker 2: that then we're going to be able to succeed at
- 8:05Speaker 2: the negotiating table. So either there's going to be some
- 8:08Speaker 2: sort of progress diplomatically today or else it's looking increasingly
- 8:12Speaker 2: like we're going back to all out war.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I think that there's no question in terms of I mean, look,
- 8:16Speaker 3: I don't know. Obviously, anything could happen. There are some
- 8:18Speaker 3: reports about talking and all of that behind the scenes,
- 8:21Speaker 3: but a couple of important things. We'll save that mostly
- 8:24Speaker 3: for Professor Morandi. But if we stick explicitly with what
- 8:28Speaker 3: we know, let's put a five up here on the
- 8:30Speaker 3: screen again, just to show everyone where all of these
- 8:33Speaker 3: things are going. At least four explosions were heard on
- 8:36Speaker 3: the coastal town on the eastern side of the Strait.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Another explosion was near the city of Minab, which, if
- 8:42Speaker 3: you'll recall, that's where that girls school was struck. Several
- 8:44Speaker 3: explosions were also heard near the port area on a
- 8:47Speaker 3: Gulf of Oman coast, and then an explosion was reported
- 8:50Speaker 3: in Iran's main commercial port and naval hub overlooking the
- 8:54Speaker 3: Strait of hor Moves. All of that indicates that the
- 8:56Speaker 3: US has looking at the Strait singularly as the Beije
- 9:00Speaker 3: military problem. What this comes on the heels of, if
- 9:03Speaker 3: you put it all together, is that the strait itself
- 9:06Speaker 3: reopening it is the only military objective now of the us.
- 9:10Speaker 3: They're not even pretending to strike military strikes or military
- 9:13Speaker 3: sites in Tehran, or you're in the nuclear facilities or
- 9:16Speaker 3: any of these places, which actually shows you the ball
- 9:18Speaker 3: is in Iran's court, because if they're able to control
- 9:20Speaker 3: the Strait now, as opposed to whenever what February twenty eighth,
- 9:23Speaker 3: when the war is launched, we are now trying to
- 9:25Speaker 3: solve a problem that didn't exist on the very day
- 9:28Speaker 3: the war was launched. It also, look, if Iran was
- 9:31Speaker 3: totally military defeated, as Trump has claimed I think yesterday
- 9:35Speaker 3: that Ryan and Emily covered, then they would not have
- 9:37Speaker 3: air defense and radar systems and missiles and drones that
- 9:40Speaker 3: they were able to launch as far away as Jordan,
- 9:43Speaker 3: at Kuwait, at Bahrain, all three which were also hit
- 9:47Speaker 3: last night.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I mean, look, we have no idea.
- 9:49Speaker 3: There's all kinds of wild claims that are out there,
- 9:51Speaker 3: but one thing making clear to me, there is a
- 9:54Speaker 3: hell of a lot more censorship now coming out of
- 9:56Speaker 3: the golf. The number of videos and things that come
- 9:59Speaker 3: from the golf of showing interceptions all that is minuscule
- 10:02Speaker 3: compared to even when it was you know, I pretty
- 10:05Speaker 3: clearly the golf people have got this lockdown over the
- 10:07Speaker 3: last sixty five days, and I think a lot of
- 10:09Speaker 3: foreigners have probably left probably, so.
- 10:11Speaker 1: That's probably another part of it.
- 10:13Speaker 3: But I mean, we are seeing, you know, there's some
- 10:15Speaker 3: report of a hit on the US Navy Fifth Fleet.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Don't know if it's true or not.
- 10:19Speaker 3: We'll never know, to be honest, because it's not like
- 10:21Speaker 3: Sencom gonna tell us the truth.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I love.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, just to show you all the level of nonsense.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Jordan came out and was like, we intercepted twenty missiles. Well,
- 10:30Speaker 3: Iran was like, well we only fired twelve, So how
- 10:33Speaker 3: does that work? You know what, Well, maybe the missiles
- 10:36Speaker 3: came for somewhere else. Somebody else can speculate that.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Or maybe they're lying.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And we've seen that very consistently from sentcom from the
- 10:43Speaker 3: US forces. They keep saying everything is fine, nothing's been hit,
- 10:46Speaker 3: and then six weeks later you're like, oh my god,
- 10:48Speaker 3: this entire place looks like the Moonscape in terms of
- 10:50Speaker 3: what has been hit. So just keep that in mind
- 10:53Speaker 3: as some of these denials and other things are rolling out.
- 10:55Speaker 3: We have no idea the amount of US assets that
- 10:58Speaker 3: may have been taken out as of yesterday. Do know though,
- 11:01Speaker 3: that there was this major strike on an Iranian water stores,
- 11:05Speaker 3: a drinking water site. We basically one hundred percent confirmed
- 11:09Speaker 3: it's been geolocated and confirmed. Also, The New York Times
- 11:12Speaker 3: ran one of his investigative a series on it over
- 11:15Speaker 3: the last twenty four hours. They said, not only was
- 11:18Speaker 3: it struck, but it was struck deliberately. Pete Hegseth was
- 11:21Speaker 3: asked about that yesterday when he was at GITMO.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 11:25Speaker 6: So fire blockade is ironclad, which it is, and we're
- 11:28Speaker 6: able to move commercial shipping in and out of the
- 11:30Speaker 6: strait of horror moves? Who controls the strait of horror moves?
- 11:34Speaker 7: And President Trump.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Said it, and he's right, the United States of America.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Controls the strait of horror moves.
- 11:38Speaker 6: We're able to bring oil in and out and other
- 11:41Speaker 6: things with partners and have done so now for weeks
- 11:44Speaker 6: and weeks. In ways, the Iranians don't want to acknowledge that.
- 11:47Speaker 8: It strikes tonight.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Are they they bigger more strikes than last night?
- 11:50Speaker 6: We're not we as you know, we're not in the
- 11:52Speaker 6: business of revealing what we're gonna do or not gonna do.
- 11:54Speaker 6: But ultimately what we do tonight are going to advance
- 11:59Speaker 6: our military interests and also enhance our diplomatic position. Where
- 12:04Speaker 6: you just mentioned you're going to plan to hit them
- 12:06Speaker 6: and strike them hard tonight. If the response is in
- 12:10Speaker 6: hitting bridges electrical infrastructure, how would that not be a
- 12:13Speaker 6: wark on potentially targeting civilian infrastructure. But precisely the kind
- 12:17Speaker 6: of disingenuous question that I'm used to from the media,
- 12:21Speaker 6: impugning the motives of the folks on our side, who
- 12:25Speaker 6: are incredibly professional and incredibly effective. We will hit them
- 12:29Speaker 6: hard on our terms, on the targets that improve the
- 12:33Speaker 6: environment for us to operate in and undermine the capabilities
- 12:37Speaker 6: that Iron wants to have. Again, they can't do that
- 12:39Speaker 6: to us meaningfully the way that we can to them.
- 12:42Speaker 6: But we're also clearly signaling to them.
- 12:45Speaker 1: You have a choice.
- 12:46Speaker 6: You have a choice to in the way that you respond,
- 12:49Speaker 6: and you have a choice with the negotiate Our incredible
- 12:52Speaker 6: negotiating team in Steve Witkopf and Jared Kushner and the
- 12:57Speaker 6: vice president and the president, cross the board, Marco Rubio,
- 13:01Speaker 6: the whole team prepared to make a great deal that
- 13:04Speaker 6: would benefit it on they choose not to, and as
- 13:08Speaker 6: a result, they're going to meet the United States Central
- 13:10Speaker 6: Command again again tonight in the way the present laid out.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Clearly, Hey saith, this fully back to ra ra mode.
- 13:16Speaker 3: But you can see here z as specifically we controlled
- 13:19Speaker 3: the strait and more moves. But the strike on the
- 13:21Speaker 3: water storage site remains very important because that was one
- 13:25Speaker 3: of the main Well, first of all, you know, you're
- 13:26Speaker 3: not supposed to do that, it's just by any even
- 13:28Speaker 3: by the rules laid out by the United States military,
- 13:31Speaker 3: not even like Geneva Convention or any of that. But
- 13:34Speaker 3: second is that that was always something that was going
- 13:38Speaker 3: to be seen as a red line from the Iranians.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Now we don't know yet whether their full response has
- 13:43Speaker 3: been Frankly, it's been a bit muted. Now so far
- 13:45Speaker 3: they've only really targeted American sites. They have not as
- 13:49Speaker 3: of yet targeted any of the civilian infrastructure in the Gulf,
- 13:52Speaker 3: but that has always been threatened. Recall, they were very
- 13:55Speaker 3: much eye for an eye, Like you hit the South
- 13:56Speaker 3: Pars gas field, They're going to go ahead and hit
- 13:59Speaker 3: Ros Lafon Dohak, taking out billions and billions of dollars
- 14:02Speaker 3: in oil infrastructure. I'm not sure what their military strategy
- 14:06Speaker 3: is right now, but it does remain one where they
- 14:08Speaker 3: can use it, certainly as a pretext to go after
- 14:10Speaker 3: all those desalination plants all across the Gulf, which would
- 14:13Speaker 3: be equally critical for them.
- 14:14Speaker 1: As it is for Iran. So it remains to be seen.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Let's go and put a eight up on the screen.
- 14:21Speaker 2: This is what we've referenced a few times about how
- 14:23Speaker 2: there is this report according to a veteran political insider,
- 14:29Speaker 2: and this is from Homwaj Media in Tehran with knowledge
- 14:32Speaker 2: of the negotiations, alleging that there is a draft agreement
- 14:37Speaker 2: that has been prepared. That insider said that the text
- 14:41Speaker 2: is ready, it was finalized tonight. Gave credit to Qatar,
- 14:44Speaker 2: which has been separately engaging with both Iron and the
- 14:46Speaker 2: US to forge a deal. Now keep in mind, when
- 14:49Speaker 2: we say a deal, we mean a preliminary memo of
- 14:52Speaker 2: understanding to I guess have a more concrete case fire
- 14:56Speaker 2: since this these fire doesn't really seem to be a
- 14:58Speaker 2: ceasefire while the rest of details are worked out, says,
- 15:01Speaker 2: if they can get the final approval by tomorrow that
- 15:03Speaker 2: would now be today, it will be initiated. Spike in
- 15:07Speaker 2: Iron US violence comes amid mixed signaling that suggests possible
- 15:10Speaker 2: disconnect between what the respective militaries are doing and what
- 15:13Speaker 2: political leadership are discussing. Senior Iranian political source interpreted Trump's
- 15:18Speaker 2: decision to conduct strikes for a second night as reflecting
- 15:20Speaker 2: anger with an.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Apparent deadlock in negotiations.
- 15:23Speaker 2: While describing Trump as angry, the senior source lamented there
- 15:26Speaker 2: appeared to be little cognizance in the White House of
- 15:28Speaker 2: how real world armed confrontations are quote not a video game.
- 15:32Speaker 2: The Iranian leadership has authorized retaliatory strikes on US military facilities,
- 15:37Speaker 2: casting doubt on the prospect of a nod to an
- 15:39Speaker 2: imminent deal. There are indications, though, that both sides ultimately
- 15:42Speaker 2: want to avoid renewed all out war. While the Iranian
- 15:46Speaker 2: leadership has authorized retaliatory strikes, they also say last late
- 15:50Speaker 2: on June tenth, Trump claimed to have ordered a halt
- 15:52Speaker 2: to bombings after speaking directly with Iranian officials, alleging he
- 15:55Speaker 2: was asked to seize tax the US military and June
- 15:57Speaker 2: tenth struck a number of military sites in southern Iran.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Ronnie and Media has denied the claims about any direct contact.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Trump notably alluded to the coming.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Twenty four hours that would be today as being decisive
- 16:09Speaker 2: saying that if an agreement on the table is not
- 16:11Speaker 2: signed on June eleventh, will bomb the shit out of them.
- 16:14Speaker 2: So the idea that's being offered here is that the
- 16:18Speaker 2: strikes are more about two things, frustration with the final
- 16:24Speaker 2: hold up in the negotiations and also trying to posture, like,
- 16:30Speaker 2: you know, now, if he did this bombing and then
- 16:33Speaker 2: announced a deal, then he would get to look kind
- 16:36Speaker 2: of like a tough guy, like, oh, you know, they
- 16:39Speaker 2: we came in and we were hard with them, and
- 16:41Speaker 2: we struck their you know, critical sites, and they were afraid,
- 16:44Speaker 2: and that's why we're able to secure this deal. So
- 16:48Speaker 2: what this the picture that this Insider report is laying
- 16:52Speaker 2: out is one of more posturing and face saving in
- 16:57Speaker 2: the you know, days before there's actually going to be
- 17:01Speaker 2: some sort of diplomatic breakthrough.
- 17:03Speaker 4: That's what they're claiming. Now.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I am skeptical because I don't think that when you
- 17:08Speaker 2: go in and bomb the country it makes it more
- 17:10Speaker 2: likely for a deal to happen. That is certainly not
- 17:12Speaker 2: what we've seen in the past. It's not what we've
- 17:14Speaker 2: seen in the context of this conflict when Iran still
- 17:17Speaker 2: has a very hard and you know a strong position
- 17:20Speaker 2: in terms of their leverage over the straight of four moves.
- 17:23Speaker 2: The nature, as Sager was saying before, of the attacks
- 17:26Speaker 2: where there were not flyovers, where these were just missiles
- 17:29Speaker 2: launched from far away, shows the continued strength of the
- 17:32Speaker 2: Iranian military and the Iranian position. We have been you know,
- 17:37Speaker 2: to the there I almost have a deal rodeo for
- 17:39Speaker 2: like sixty days at this point, so that also lends
- 17:42Speaker 2: some level of skepticism, but we wanted to make sure
- 17:45Speaker 2: to get in here that this is you know, this
- 17:48Speaker 2: is a possibility, that that is what is going on
- 17:50Speaker 2: behind the scenes, and that neither side really wants to
- 17:53Speaker 2: go back to all out conflict and will you know,
- 17:55Speaker 2: take some pain and some loss in order to skeer
- 17:57Speaker 2: some sort of a deal. The other element of this
- 17:59Speaker 2: that we haven't man it is Israel which continues to
- 18:01Speaker 2: strike inside of Lebanon, and that is a red line
- 18:04Speaker 2: for the Iranians, and they have already made clear and
- 18:07Speaker 2: asserted that.
- 18:08Speaker 4: That is you know, that that is a deal breaker.
- 18:10Speaker 2: They will not move forward until there is a genuine
- 18:13Speaker 2: cessation of hostilities from Israel against Lebanon, and has balot.
- 18:17Speaker 2: So in any case, it appears to be you know,
- 18:21Speaker 2: we're either coming to some sort of at least temporary
- 18:25Speaker 2: deal and memo of understanding or spiraling back into all
- 18:29Speaker 2: out hostiles.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Well, while you were speaking, okay, some breaking news the
- 18:32Speaker 3: United States from Donald Trump.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Let's put this up in posts.
- 18:35Speaker 3: We'll be hitting Iran, whose navy, air force, radar and
- 18:37Speaker 3: anti aircraft are gone very hard tonight. At some point
- 18:41Speaker 3: in the not too distant future, we will be taking
- 18:43Speaker 3: carg Island and other oil infrastructure points and assume total
- 18:48Speaker 3: control of their oil and gas markets, much like we
- 18:51Speaker 3: have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both
- 18:54Speaker 3: Venezuela and the United States of America.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Thank you for your attention to this matter.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Okay, well, what do you think of that?
- 19:02Speaker 2: I mean, do you think that that's a that that's
- 19:05Speaker 2: an empty threat and again and posturing, or do you
- 19:10Speaker 2: think this is really happening? Because with Trump you never know,
- 19:13Speaker 2: because you cannot take his words a phase.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Value, yah processing in real time. It's just basically two
- 19:17Speaker 3: options is one. Remember he said We're going to end civilization.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Entire civilization will die. Deny the cespire gets signed like
- 19:23Speaker 3: twenty four hours later, so that's certainly possible. Also, would
- 19:26Speaker 3: you really want to telegraph that you're going to take
- 19:28Speaker 3: a carg Island before you're going to take carg Island.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Probably not, because if you're like, hey, that's where we're going.
- 19:34Speaker 3: So maybe they're not going to take carg Island. We
- 19:36Speaker 3: previously talked about Keshum Island, which they might go ahead
- 19:39Speaker 3: and try to take, or it might be used as
- 19:41Speaker 3: cover for a nuclear you know, a paratrooper deployment in
- 19:45Speaker 3: the nuclear area with Isfahan.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So let's put that all on the table.
- 19:49Speaker 3: At the very least, though, I mean, we're back to
- 19:52Speaker 3: Belikostady and to Soar you know, sword waving, which the
- 19:56Speaker 3: Iranian look. I mean, that's why while you were talking,
- 19:58Speaker 3: was like, my only counter was going to be this
- 20:00Speaker 3: would mean a totally different Iran, and Iran that would
- 20:03Speaker 3: sit there. That from Iran for the last hundred days,
- 20:06Speaker 3: which has consistently laid out a red line and said
- 20:09Speaker 3: if you come and hit us, we're going to hit
- 20:11Speaker 3: you twice as hard to establish the turns that has
- 20:13Speaker 3: fit their entire pattern. There's no reason to say why
- 20:16Speaker 3: they would capitulate right now to this action. I also
- 20:19Speaker 3: just say, have no I just see no reason why
- 20:22Speaker 3: you would say, at some point in the not too
- 20:25Speaker 3: distant future, we will be taking carg Island and other
- 20:27Speaker 3: oil infrastructure points and assume total control of their oil
- 20:30Speaker 3: and gas markets.
- 20:31Speaker 1: If you didn't mean it in some form.
- 20:34Speaker 2: It does remind me, though, very much of like you
- 20:36Speaker 2: were saying, the whole civilization is going to die. And
- 20:38Speaker 2: then he said, we're going to destroy all of their
- 20:40Speaker 2: bridges and all of their infrastructure. And that was that
- 20:43Speaker 2: was an attempt by him to provide himself with cover
- 20:48Speaker 2: in order to float this this deal, which was you know,
- 20:52Speaker 2: so that he could look like, oh, we forced that.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They were so scared that they came running to the
- 20:56Speaker 2: negotiating team and we got everything that we want.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I haven't responded very well to that in the last
- 21:00Speaker 3: sixty days. Nobody find an idiot, right, you know, It's
- 21:03Speaker 3: like it's one of the yeah, look here's the thing
- 21:06Speaker 3: where we could assume strategy when in reality he's losing it.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Like I think that's what do you remember the Project Freedom?
- 21:12Speaker 3: Do we have any of that stuff in here? Sorry,
- 21:14Speaker 3: just because we have a few more minutes before Mirandi, Yeah,
- 21:17Speaker 3: let's put B two bring it in yesterday. Trump said,
- 21:20Speaker 3: last month, I directed our great military to execute the
- 21:22Speaker 3: secret mission to support one hundred million barrels of making
- 21:25Speaker 3: its way through the strait. Now, first of all, one
- 21:27Speaker 3: hundred million barrels roughly works out to two point five
- 21:30Speaker 3: million barrels per day. Does anyone want to tell me
- 21:32Speaker 3: how many barrels would move through the Strait of Horn
- 21:33Speaker 3: moves on a normal day.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Twenty million?
- 21:35Speaker 3: Okay, so ten percent, roughly ten percent of normal traffic.
- 21:39Speaker 3: And as I put out in my analysis, I was like, so,
- 21:41Speaker 3: we're really bragging about the full force of the United
- 21:43Speaker 3: States Navy.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Billions of dollars million, tens of millions.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Of dollars per day, billions of dollars per month, Apache helicopters,
- 21:49Speaker 3: m Q nine, reaper drones, three dead Indian nationals, And
- 21:53Speaker 3: all I got was a lousy ten percent of restoring
- 21:55Speaker 3: this straight. What does that tell you about the full
- 21:57Speaker 3: force of the United States Navies? But let's put that
- 21:59Speaker 3: to the side. Why would you brag about a secret mission?
- 22:02Speaker 3: If it's a secret mission that was working, why would
- 22:04Speaker 3: you brag about it? Because you care more about the
- 22:05Speaker 3: oil markets necessarily than you do about actually the mission,
- 22:09Speaker 3: because now if they're like, hey, if this is happening,
- 22:11Speaker 3: they're going to put more attempts to try and to
- 22:14Speaker 3: stop it. Well, I mean there's no logic behind any
- 22:18Speaker 3: of it, Like, why would you brag about that if
- 22:20Speaker 3: it was real?
- 22:21Speaker 4: Well?
- 22:21Speaker 1: Is it all bluster? I don't know.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I mean, at the same it would be shocking and
- 22:26Speaker 3: insane to brag about taking carg Island. And we will say,
- 22:29Speaker 3: let's put let's put some of the pieces together. Remember
- 22:31Speaker 3: Ken Clippenstein's report. There are paratroopers who are currently in
- 22:34Speaker 3: the Middle East. There's another true in Israel. But there's
- 22:37Speaker 3: a very undernoticed picture that was put out by sent
- 22:41Speaker 3: Coom two days ago. It was like paratroopers train live
- 22:44Speaker 3: fire exercise in the Middle East. And I was like, oh,
- 22:46Speaker 3: that's subtle, all right, So you have live fire training
- 22:49Speaker 3: bragging by Sentcom. I mean it's possible.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I think I think anything is possible because he is
- 22:55Speaker 2: desperate and this is let's put a seven up on
- 22:57Speaker 2: the screen. This is from sy Hirsch, you know, legendary journalist.
- 23:03Speaker 2: He is claiming that he has a source inside of
- 23:06Speaker 2: the Trump administration that you know that Trump at some
- 23:09Speaker 2: point floated the idea of using low yield nuclear weapons
- 23:14Speaker 2: to destroy quote, some of Iran's underground missile factories. He
- 23:18Speaker 2: was told by someone with extensive knowledge of nuclear weaponry
- 23:21Speaker 2: that it was a very scary and very serious moment.
- 23:24Speaker 2: The President was depicted at this point to be desperate
- 23:27Speaker 2: not to lose in Iran. His idea was to warn
- 23:29Speaker 2: the Iranian leadership that we are very seriously considering such
- 23:32Speaker 2: an escalation. I was told the president apparently was talked
- 23:35Speaker 2: out of any thought of nuclear escalation. So this is
- 23:39Speaker 2: one report based on one insider two Seymour hurt. However,
- 23:43Speaker 2: it fits with the picture of Trump being beside himself,
- 23:47Speaker 2: you know, incredibly erratic. Every week we go back to
- 23:51Speaker 2: let's leak something to brock Revie, let's try to control
- 23:54Speaker 2: the markets, Let's, you know, do a little bit of bombing.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Let's tell Israel not to bomb. Then let's light Israel bombing.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I mean, it just is the if you look at
- 24:04Speaker 2: the entire picture, it is one of someone who is trapped,
- 24:07Speaker 2: who doesn't know what to do, who is lashing out
- 24:10Speaker 2: at times, who is trying everything they can possibly think
- 24:13Speaker 2: of to get themselves out of a mess of their
- 24:15Speaker 2: own creation, which is a disaster. I mean, if you
- 24:19Speaker 2: accept the Iranian position and the deal that's on the table,
- 24:22Speaker 2: you are acknowledging a humiliating defeat for yourself. If you
- 24:26Speaker 2: go into full scale war with some sort of insane
- 24:29Speaker 2: carg island operation or nuclear does operation or god forbid,
- 24:33Speaker 2: you know, low yield nuclear weapon, that is going to
- 24:37Speaker 2: be a disaster as well. So there are no good
- 24:41Speaker 2: options on the table, and he keeps spinning his wheels
- 24:44Speaker 2: trying to find one. You know, the reason I put
- 24:47Speaker 2: some credence in the idea that this is a lot
- 24:49Speaker 2: of bluster is simply because I do think he is
- 24:53Speaker 2: terrified of going, you know, of doing some larger scale
- 24:57Speaker 2: assault that would involve a ground invasion.
- 24:59Speaker 4: I think he is terrified of that.
- 25:01Speaker 2: You know, I think there's been after that whatever happened
- 25:05Speaker 2: with the pilot rescue situation and how that went so
- 25:08Speaker 2: sideways and was almost a complete and total disaster, he
- 25:12Speaker 2: seems to have been from that point on very fearful
- 25:15Speaker 2: of walking that next step up the escalation ladder, but
- 25:19Speaker 2: also cannot accept the deal that would be on.
- 25:22Speaker 4: The table right now. So there's no reason to say
- 25:24Speaker 4: that I think today is really pivotal today is really pivotal.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I think that's why there's no reason to dismiss that
- 25:29Speaker 3: we have oscillated back.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he did for sixty days.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Remember, by the way, it is by the grace of God,
- 25:35Speaker 3: those pilots are alive. I was, you know, again, assume
- 25:38Speaker 3: the actual story is true. But I mean, there's no
- 25:41Speaker 3: reason not to, at least so far with the Apaches,
- 25:44Speaker 3: which is that the Apache helicopters flying a drone. A
- 25:47Speaker 3: suicide attack drone comes somehow. By the way, the Apache,
- 25:50Speaker 3: as I understand it, the pilot configuration is like one
- 25:53Speaker 3: one like here I was reading from a pilot It
- 25:55Speaker 3: lodges itself in between it's on fire, so they have
- 25:58Speaker 3: to do a powered descent in to the water, and
- 26:01Speaker 3: then once they're in the water, they're picked up by
- 26:03Speaker 3: this ai US Navy surface drone. So, first of all,
- 26:06Speaker 3: from what I heard, if it's a pilot, impossible like
- 26:09Speaker 3: out of a plane. Why because they're immobilized into their
- 26:12Speaker 3: seats and they wouldn't have been able to get out
- 26:14Speaker 3: as easy and wouldn't be able to swim to the drone.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So that's number one.
- 26:16Speaker 3: So like every step went right for these people to
- 26:19Speaker 3: be alive, whoever these pilots are. But I mean, if
- 26:22Speaker 3: we consider that Operation Trump previously had said that the
- 26:26Speaker 3: red line was if Americans were killed.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I mean, these guys are barely you know.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Seriously, Again, if the official story is true, which I
- 26:34Speaker 3: currently do think so, because the Iranians did kind of
- 26:37Speaker 3: acknowledge that they hit the pilot and all that, I
- 26:39Speaker 3: don't really know why they would lie anyway, My point
- 26:43Speaker 3: just remains. Because we have Mirandi standing by, this is
- 26:46Speaker 3: a very very very pivotal moment. Let's talk to Professor Morandi.
- 26:49Speaker 1: He's standing by.
- 26:53Speaker 2: For the Iranian perspective on whatever is happening this morning.
- 26:56Speaker 2: We are very fortunate to be joined by Professor Muhammed
- 26:59Speaker 2: Mirandi of the University of Tehran.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Great to see you again, Sir, Goodness Ezer, Great to
- 27:03Speaker 3: see the two of you.
- 27:05Speaker 2: So let me get your live reaction here to the
- 27:08Speaker 2: lightest Trump truth social post. He says, the United States
- 27:12Speaker 2: will be hitting Iran, whose Navy, air Force, radar, anti aircraft,
- 27:16Speaker 2: and all other forms of defense, together with most of
- 27:19Speaker 2: its offensive capability, are gone very hard tonight. At some
- 27:23Speaker 2: point in the not too distant future, we will be
- 27:26Speaker 2: taking carg island and other oil infrastructure points and assume
- 27:30Speaker 2: total control of their oil and gas markets, much like
- 27:33Speaker 2: we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for
- 27:36Speaker 2: both Venezuela and the United States of America. Thank you
- 27:39Speaker 2: for your attention to this matter. I know you're processing
- 27:43Speaker 2: this in real time, but what is your initial reaction here, sir?
- 27:49Speaker 7: It doesn't surprise me.
- 27:50Speaker 8: I mean, that's the sort of thing that Trump does say,
- 27:53Speaker 8: and that we've seen him carry it out in Venezuela
- 27:57Speaker 8: and threatened to take Cuba, and he is currently strangling Cuba,
- 28:04Speaker 8: and he's facilitating the genocide and ongoing genocide in southern Lebanon,
- 28:09Speaker 8: and of course ongoing genocide and Gaza. So we have
- 28:13Speaker 8: no expectations. But it's interesting that I recognize that there
- 28:21Speaker 8: is an Iranian audience out there and they see that
- 28:26Speaker 8: the Trump regime is not prepared to be reasonable and
- 28:34Speaker 8: that it is openly saying that it's going to take
- 28:37Speaker 8: Iranian resources and Iranian territory. So that is going to
- 28:41Speaker 8: do nothing but unite the country further. If there are
- 28:45Speaker 8: those who are saying that maybe we should find a solution,
- 28:51Speaker 8: even though it may not be completely fair, and even
- 28:55Speaker 8: if the agreement may not be fully.
- 29:00Speaker 7: Just, but maybe we should.
- 29:04Speaker 8: Accept an agreement with the Americans in the hope that
- 29:07Speaker 8: Trump will back down and behave more reasonably.
- 29:10Speaker 7: When they see this, they say, okay.
- 29:12Speaker 8: Then the political forces in power in Iran, they're right.
- 29:17Speaker 8: They have to be tough and steadfast with Trump in
- 29:21Speaker 8: order to prevent him from stealing our land and resources,
- 29:27Speaker 8: so he unites the Iranian people. Further, he tells the
- 29:30Speaker 8: world of his openly eighteenth century, nineteenth century, early twentieth
- 29:36Speaker 8: century imperial ambitions. I don't think it helps the United States,
- 29:42Speaker 8: and he's going to fail. Last night, that huge offensive
- 29:46Speaker 8: they it was somewhat bigger than the previous attack, but
- 29:51Speaker 8: the Iranian response was also equally tough.
- 29:56Speaker 7: The United States sitting open the.
- 29:58Speaker 8: Strait of homos, it's not going to be able to
- 30:00Speaker 8: open this rate of homos. And meanwhile, the global economic
- 30:03Speaker 8: situation gets worse by the day.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Professor, I want to ask the last time you were
- 30:08Speaker 3: on our show, forgive me if I'm wrong, you seem
- 30:11Speaker 3: quite optimistic about a potential deal. You know, we've interviewed
- 30:13Speaker 3: you several times. You seemed fairly optimistic, and you're very
- 30:16Speaker 3: tapped in. You you know, of course, have accompanied some
- 30:18Speaker 3: of these delegations as an observer this time around, you know,
- 30:22Speaker 3: just monitoring some of your communications, you don't seem nearly
- 30:26Speaker 3: as optimistic. And I know that you speak to many
- 30:28Speaker 3: of the people who are in power. What is the
- 30:30Speaker 3: feeling in the higher echelons of power in Tehran.
- 30:35Speaker 7: I've never been very optimistic.
- 30:38Speaker 8: I'm just in general, I'm not a pessimistic person, and
- 30:43Speaker 8: I am an optimistic person despite all the horrors that
- 30:46Speaker 8: we see.
- 30:47Speaker 7: Every day. You wake up in the morning and you
- 30:49Speaker 7: look at.
- 30:50Speaker 8: Your social media and you said you see dead bodies
- 30:53Speaker 8: and gods and Lebanon and so on. But in general,
- 30:57Speaker 8: I am hopeful for the future. I believe that at
- 31:00Speaker 8: the end of the day, the United States is going
- 31:02Speaker 8: to have to back down, whether it's by signing an
- 31:06Speaker 8: agreement that's reasonable, or whether it's just going to have
- 31:09Speaker 8: to sort of walk away or melt away, which is
- 31:13Speaker 8: not going to be easy tomorrow. But the fact is
- 31:17Speaker 8: that Iran has during the thirty nine Days War, during
- 31:22Speaker 8: thirty nine days of hot war, it has shown that
- 31:24Speaker 8: it could defeat a superpower, and it can defeat a
- 31:28Speaker 8: superpower with its broad coalition, the regimes in the region.
- 31:31Speaker 8: There's Radio Regime, the Collective West through their maximum pressure sanctions.
- 31:35Speaker 8: Even Torkia's US bases and Torkia nato A wax jets
- 31:43Speaker 8: were being used against Iran. The Republic of Ozarbaijohn was
- 31:46Speaker 8: working against Iran, this huge coalition fighting against Iran directly
- 31:51Speaker 8: or indirectly, and the.
- 31:53Speaker 7: Iranians won the war. So the Iranians are competent.
- 31:55Speaker 6: Now.
- 31:55Speaker 8: What Trump is trying to do is to strangle the
- 31:58Speaker 8: Iranian people.
- 31:59Speaker 7: That's what this is about.
- 32:00Speaker 8: To prevent food from getting in, medicine from getting in,
- 32:04Speaker 8: from preventing Iran from gaining well through its oil trade.
- 32:12Speaker 8: But first of all, that's a double edged sword, and
- 32:14Speaker 8: it's bringing down the global economy. And second of all,
- 32:18Speaker 8: if it was so successful, we wouldn't now be seeing
- 32:21Speaker 8: the United States constantly breaking the seasfire over the past
- 32:24Speaker 8: few weeks and attacking Iranian positions. So obviously, in siege warfare,
- 32:29Speaker 8: the United States seas fire, they just sit back and
- 32:35Speaker 8: relax and wait till the Iranian people die of hunger.
- 32:39Speaker 4: I wanted to get your reaction too.
- 32:41Speaker 2: If we could put a eight up on the screen
- 32:43Speaker 2: here there was a report from Homewage Media that effectively
- 32:49Speaker 2: the new bombing campaign from the US, and presumably the
- 32:55Speaker 2: social media bluster threats We're going to bomb the s
- 32:59Speaker 2: down of you, We're going to take carg Island, et cetera,
- 33:02Speaker 2: are part of providing sort of rhetorical and military cover
- 33:07Speaker 2: to enable Trump to accept a deal that is in
- 33:10Speaker 2: fact close to being finalized, with credit to Qatar for
- 33:15Speaker 2: mediating this. Now, this is based allegedly on an insider
- 33:20Speaker 2: in Tehran. Do you think that that could be the case.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Sagur and I were just talking about, or recall back
- 33:26Speaker 2: when there was the you know, the threat to end
- 33:27Speaker 2: the entire civilization and to bomb all of the infrastructure
- 33:32Speaker 2: and the bridges in Iran, and that seemed to be
- 33:35Speaker 2: an attempt by Trump to provide some sort of tough
- 33:39Speaker 2: guy political cover for himself to then enable you know,
- 33:42Speaker 2: the agreement of what we're calling a ceasefire, which is
- 33:45Speaker 2: very much not a cease fire at this point. So
- 33:47Speaker 2: I'm wondering if you see these renewed threats and even
- 33:50Speaker 2: the bombing campaign as an attempt by him to provide
- 33:54Speaker 2: himself some political cover so he can say, see, look,
- 33:57Speaker 2: we scared the Iranians. We bombed the shit out of
- 34:00Speaker 2: They were so scared they came to the table, and
- 34:03Speaker 2: now we've got this great deal.
- 34:07Speaker 8: I don't know, because I don't think anyone knows what
- 34:09Speaker 8: goes on in Trump's head, and so I have given
- 34:13Speaker 8: up predicting Trump and I for a long time now.
- 34:17Speaker 8: Whenever people contact me and say Trump has said this
- 34:20Speaker 8: or he said that will be come and tell us
- 34:22Speaker 8: what you think he'll do next, I say, look, I
- 34:24Speaker 8: don't even read his material.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I don't smart.
- 34:30Speaker 8: Is something different and whatever I say is going to
- 34:33Speaker 8: turn out wrong.
- 34:34Speaker 7: So I really don't know.
- 34:37Speaker 8: It sounds nice, but I don't see Patad as irrelevant
- 34:41Speaker 8: because Patada is not a mediator. It is Pakistan, even
- 34:45Speaker 8: though Pakistan is only sending the written messages back and forth.
- 34:50Speaker 8: It is possible, and this is something that has been
- 34:52Speaker 8: said in the past, that Trump make that the impact.
- 34:55Speaker 8: The belief was in Iran many weeks ago, that the
- 34:58Speaker 8: United States will ultimately attack Irani and then.
- 35:03Speaker 7: Change its policies. That would be possible.
- 35:06Speaker 8: So it's not impossible, but I don't think we can.
- 35:10Speaker 8: I don't think that that's something that we should be.
- 35:14Speaker 2: That.
- 35:15Speaker 8: I don't think that's something that we can I don't
- 35:18Speaker 8: think we can make predictions about Trump because he's just
- 35:23Speaker 8: I mean, his negotiators. They have basically agreed on almost everything.
- 35:28Speaker 8: We know that the general terms of the agreement and
- 35:32Speaker 8: the Rinians are not going to accept any changes. There
- 35:35Speaker 8: are some differences right now, but they're not The general
- 35:39Speaker 8: terms of the agreement are pretty clear. But every now
- 35:42Speaker 8: and then Trump comes up and comes out and says
- 35:45Speaker 8: that I'm not going to give you Run's assets back,
- 35:47Speaker 8: or I'm not going to lift the siege, or I'm
- 35:50Speaker 8: not going to.
- 35:53Speaker 7: And the sanctions.
- 35:55Speaker 8: Well, your negotiators have written all this down on paper,
- 35:58Speaker 8: So I don't know what he's going to do. Ultimately,
- 36:01Speaker 8: I'm sure he's under a huge amount of pressure from
- 36:04Speaker 8: the Zionist lobby and this Readar regime not to sign this.
- 36:07Speaker 8: If I think if it wasn't for them, he would
- 36:10Speaker 8: have signed this agreement a long time ago.
- 36:12Speaker 7: In fact, I don't think that would have been a
- 36:13Speaker 7: war in the first place. But we are where we are,
- 36:16Speaker 7: and I.
- 36:18Speaker 8: Don't want to make predictions because whatever I say, you
- 36:21Speaker 8: can be absolutely sure it'll turn out to be wrong.
- 36:25Speaker 3: See this is fascinating to me, so sir okay, let's stick.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Then you say you don't want to look at Trump.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Let's stick with Iran. Let's put be one up here
- 36:31Speaker 3: on the screen, all ready to you, since I know
- 36:33Speaker 3: you can't see it. This is per our, baroque revide,
- 36:37Speaker 3: he says. Iranian and US officials held parallel talks with
- 36:41Speaker 3: Katari mediators in Doha over the last two days. The
- 36:44Speaker 3: Kataris tried to arrange a trilateral meeting to directly negotiate
- 36:48Speaker 3: on the remaining gaps, but the Iranians refused. What do
- 36:52Speaker 3: you first of all, I mean, I'm sure you know
- 36:54Speaker 3: maybe some of these mediators.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Can you tell us a little bit about their thinking?
- 36:57Speaker 3: Why are they refusing to meet one on one with
- 37:00Speaker 3: the United States or, at least in this case, with
- 37:02Speaker 3: the Doha.
- 37:03Speaker 1: The Qataris as mediators.
- 37:06Speaker 8: Well as far as I know, and I have to
- 37:11Speaker 8: look into this, but as far as I know, Doha's
- 37:14Speaker 8: role has been mostly about facilitating the transfer of Iranian
- 37:20Speaker 8: stolen assets back to Iran.
- 37:22Speaker 7: The reason why.
- 37:23Speaker 8: Iran wants these is because Iran in the past, whenever
- 37:25Speaker 8: they negotiated with the United States, when it came down
- 37:28Speaker 8: to implementation, the Americans with cheat Iran.
- 37:31Speaker 7: Obama did that. That's always been the case with the Americans.
- 37:34Speaker 8: So here they're saying no, at the very beginning, you
- 37:37Speaker 8: have to end the genocide, you have to end the
- 37:38Speaker 8: slaughter and Lebanon and Godza, you have to end the war,
- 37:41Speaker 8: and you have to hand over that money and then
- 37:44Speaker 8: we can go forward, because we know that if we
- 37:46Speaker 8: start to deal, when you don't hand them over, we're
- 37:48Speaker 8: never going to see our money again.
- 37:51Speaker 7: So that that is one.
- 37:54Speaker 8: Issue Doha, whether it's Doha or Podkistan or anyone else.
- 38:03Speaker 8: The Iranians prefer not to negotiate directly with the United
- 38:06Speaker 8: States because the United States, whenever we did negotiate with
- 38:11Speaker 8: them directly, it bore no fruit. It made them more demanding,
- 38:16Speaker 8: it made them more aggressive, and later on they refused
- 38:20Speaker 8: to acknowledge many of the promises that they made for Iran.
- 38:25Speaker 8: The best thing right now is for everything to be
- 38:28Speaker 8: on paper. Trump tomorrow says that I never agreed to
- 38:33Speaker 8: and the siege. All they have to do is say,
- 38:36Speaker 8: your negotiators wrote this down on paper. We spent a
- 38:39Speaker 8: full day in Islamabad and the two sides were negotiating
- 38:44Speaker 8: from morning till night. The Iranian team had experts with them.
- 38:48Speaker 8: The chief negotiator was an associate professor at my university.
- 38:51Speaker 8: The Speaker of Parliament on one hand, the deputy head
- 38:55Speaker 8: at the Supreme National Security Council, another professor at a
- 38:58Speaker 8: different university. The third the Foreign Minister, a PhD holder.
- 39:01Speaker 8: And then on the other side you had bands, and
- 39:04Speaker 8: you had two real estate agents. And the vance was
- 39:09Speaker 8: from morning till night making phone calls to people in
- 39:14Speaker 8: Washington and Israel, and he had no authority. They were
- 39:20Speaker 8: not serious. The Runian side had experts from the Central Bank.
- 39:24Speaker 8: The head of the Central Bank was there the running
- 39:26Speaker 8: the experts in different fields so that they could solve
- 39:30Speaker 8: all the issues. But the Americans were not serious. So
- 39:33Speaker 8: the necessity of the two sides sitting together, I don't think, really,
- 39:39Speaker 8: I don't think there's a necessity for them to sit together.
- 39:42Speaker 8: If the Americans at some point do you signed a
- 39:43Speaker 8: deal and they have eyed by the deal, then perhaps
- 39:48Speaker 8: in future they could have direct negotiations. But at the
- 39:51Speaker 8: moment all they do is bombing, run and make threats
- 39:55Speaker 8: and hexit after consuming lots of alcohol, he goes on rats,
- 40:01Speaker 8: or at least it seems like he's taking if I
- 40:03Speaker 8: hope he's drinking alcohol, because if he's not and he's
- 40:05Speaker 8: talking like this, that's really scary. But you know, what's
- 40:09Speaker 8: the use of speaking to these people directly?
- 40:12Speaker 4: So let me ask you.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Let's say the threats from Trump are real, right, and
- 40:16Speaker 2: they're really going to do some sort of an operation
- 40:18Speaker 2: and try to take Cargo Island, that they're going to
- 40:21Speaker 2: escalate even beyond what's already happened overnight. What do you
- 40:26Speaker 2: see as the options on the table for an Iranian response?
- 40:32Speaker 8: You know, I've discussed this during the war, during the
- 40:35Speaker 8: thirty nine Day War on different programs. The Iranians want
- 40:40Speaker 8: the United States to enter Iranian territory. They want them
- 40:45Speaker 8: to occupy parts of Iran because that's when they can
- 40:49Speaker 8: hit the United States the hardest. When the Americans occupy islands,
- 40:54Speaker 8: when they occupy the mainland, then the Iranians will hit.
- 41:01Speaker 8: Just as the Iranians have prepared all these underground missile
- 41:04Speaker 8: cities and drone cities, an extraordinary achievement, something that military
- 41:13Speaker 8: universities will be discussing for decades to come, and all
- 41:16Speaker 8: these underground factories and assets and so on. They also
- 41:21Speaker 8: made preparations for land battle as well, because this whole purpose,
- 41:26Speaker 8: the whole purpose of all of this was to defend
- 41:29Speaker 8: Iran against an American invasion, and therefore when the United
- 41:33Speaker 8: States comes in, then the ir audience can strike them
- 41:36Speaker 8: with missiles, with drones, with artillery, with ambushes, and so
- 41:41Speaker 8: on and so forth. I mean, look at the Israeli
- 41:43Speaker 8: regime right now in southern Lebanon. Hezbola is hitting them
- 41:49Speaker 8: very hard, despite the fact that Hesbula is completely surrounded.
- 41:53Speaker 8: You have one proxy of the United States in Syria,
- 41:56Speaker 8: Isis and the al Qaeda government. You have the government
- 42:01Speaker 8: in Beirut, which is a US proxy. It has no
- 42:04Speaker 8: popular mandate. They are trying to squeeze the resistance. They
- 42:08Speaker 8: don't allow the refugees from the south to go into
- 42:10Speaker 8: different cities and neighborhoods. They're just prevented from moving around
- 42:13Speaker 8: in their own country. They won't let aid from Iraq
- 42:16Speaker 8: or Iran, blankets, hands, food, anything to get to them.
- 42:21Speaker 7: They want to starve the people. They want to break
- 42:24Speaker 7: their will.
- 42:25Speaker 8: And then of course all of many of these refugees
- 42:29Speaker 8: gathered into Dahi init the Southern Bay route, and then
- 42:32Speaker 8: Israel wanted to flatten it, and of course no one
- 42:35Speaker 8: in the West Haird.
- 42:36Speaker 7: So Iran had to step in.
- 42:38Speaker 8: But the point is that the reason why the Israelis
- 42:41Speaker 8: are being so genocidal is because they're in such rage
- 42:44Speaker 8: that Hesbela is hitting them hard across the board in
- 42:47Speaker 8: the South. So if Hezbela can do that to Israel,
- 42:50Speaker 8: you can be absolutely certain that Iran, after being able
- 42:54Speaker 8: to keep to defeat the United States literally on the battlefield,
- 42:59Speaker 8: after thirty nine days, they can defeat the United States
- 43:02Speaker 8: on the ground. What the Iranians want to happen in
- 43:04Speaker 8: this war is to make the war so costly for
- 43:07Speaker 8: the United States that one year from now, two years
- 43:11Speaker 8: from now, five years from now, if someone in the
- 43:13Speaker 8: United States says let's go to war with Iran, everyone
- 43:16Speaker 8: says no, let's not go there.
- 43:19Speaker 7: That's not an option. That is Iran's ultimate goal.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Well, professor, thank you so much for joining us and
- 43:26Speaker 2: providing your immediate reaction and analysis.
- 43:29Speaker 4: We always value your time.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Thank you, sir, thank you, thank you.
- 43:32Speaker 7: Bench.
- 43:32Speaker 8: Just one final point, sure, and that is that I
- 43:35Speaker 8: would as a teacher at university, I would advise your audience,
- 43:41Speaker 8: and I've said this on other shows to read some
- 43:43Speaker 8: books on Iran. One is called Going to Tehran by
- 43:47Speaker 8: Flinton Hillary Leverett, who worked in the White House to academics.
- 43:51Speaker 8: I think if you invite Hillary Leverett, she would be
- 43:54Speaker 8: a good guess.
- 43:55Speaker 7: An excellent guest.
- 43:56Speaker 8: Another by Alistair Crook, a book called Resistance. They would
- 44:00Speaker 8: better understand what resistance means in Iranian culture and in
- 44:05Speaker 8: the culture the access of Resistance. And there's also another
- 44:09Speaker 8: very small book by Peter Oborne, who is a conservative
- 44:12Speaker 8: in the UK, who.
- 44:15Speaker 7: Wrote about the Runian nuclear program.
- 44:17Speaker 8: It's a very easy read called Aerous, Dangerous Illusion. And
- 44:24Speaker 8: I think that would be these three books. If people
- 44:27Speaker 8: read them, they'd have a better understanding of Bran. And
- 44:29Speaker 8: I think it's important for people to understand Iran better today.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Well, we have a lot of readers in our audience.
- 44:35Speaker 2: We're always getting requests for what books to read, so
- 44:38Speaker 2: I'm sure they will appreciate that and we appreciate it
- 44:40Speaker 2: as well.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Thank you, sir, appreciate it.
- 44:42Speaker 7: Thank you.
