- 0:00Happy Sunday morning everybody. I think I got the day right
- 0:07yesterday. I messed up and I said the wrong
- 0:10day. Thank you all for keeping me
- 0:14honest. The days fly by My my
- 0:19mother-in-law, Dee, she said. Kenny, when you get to be 50
- 0:25years old, they go by in five year chunks.
- 0:29Five year at a time is like you're 2000, boom, it's your
- 0:342005. It's true.
- 0:38Time flies. All right, everybody.
- 0:44I feel a little wounded this morning.
- 0:47I feel somewhat sad and angry. A little bit of both.
- 0:55I think equally, you know, like 25% sad, 25% angry, you know the
- 1:04rest bewildered, perplexed, you know, add it all in there.
- 1:09Yesterday, Bob Pockrass put all over social media, the e-mail
- 1:18messages from all the NASCAR executives.
- 1:24I understand, you know, that it's a big sport.
- 1:29NASCAR is a big sport unlike any other sport.
- 1:34There is. It's, it's complex, it's
- 1:37perplexing. All of these e-mail exchanges
- 1:40were done during the time that NASCAR was trying to get a 7 or
- 1:47$8 billion contract. So they were pissed.
- 1:50They were on edge. And boy, everybody was talking
- 1:54bad shit about each other, which, which the older I get, I,
- 2:00I laugh about because like I told you other day, you can, you
- 2:05know, it's so awesome. I have so much freedom in my
- 2:08life now because years ago, if somebody cussed me out or talked
- 2:13badly of me, it hurt my feelings.
- 2:17And I got to be honest with you, it was social media that trained
- 2:22me that, Oh my God, I don't know these people.
- 2:26And even if my, even if my friends or even if somebody, you
- 2:32know, cussed me out, you get over it.
- 2:36When you get older, you just realize, you know, it just don't
- 2:41matter for me nowadays. It's kind of like that that
- 2:46little video you see over there in Italy, Fuck you and everybody
- 2:51goes fuck you too. Have a beautiful day.
- 2:57That's kind of where I am, but that's what I see with this
- 3:00whole NASCAR deal. Everybody just mother fuck each
- 3:05other. And but I'm going to tell you
- 3:09the one I want to talk about this morning.
- 3:12This reminds me of of Watergate. A lot of you are are are too
- 3:16young to remember Watergate, but it's when the Republicans both
- 3:20broke into the Democrat, you know, offices and found out some
- 3:26dirt and, you know, they kind of got caught and then Nixon
- 3:31resigns. What is the name for this?
- 3:36You know, we had Watergate back in the day and that's why
- 3:39President Nixon resigned. What what do we call this?
- 3:43The Files? You know, think there's a little
- 3:46movie out about it, The Files. What do we call this dark day in
- 3:51NASCAR? I tell you, a lot of people are
- 3:54hurt. Mark Martin, I saw his, you
- 3:57know, Mark Martin commented. He's he basically says it sure
- 4:01is sad that the people in charge don't, you know, are they don't
- 4:08they're not they don't got like emotional investment like we do.
- 4:12And if they did, maybe, you know, we'd be in a better place.
- 4:16I got to tell you, I'm worried. I'm worried.
- 4:18I hope we can recover from this. And here's what I'm worried
- 4:22about. When you read everything, you
- 4:24realize how hardcore everything is.
- 4:27There's no, you know, it's very disappointing, right?
- 4:35OK. What I want to talk about that
- 4:37bothers me is Curtis Polk and Eugene Mason, the executives at
- 4:452311. Those mother fuckers.
- 4:50Yeah. There you go.
- 4:51OK, man, you guys hate Denny Hamlin.
- 4:56I mean, the executives at 2311. I mean, I've seen, you know,
- 5:02there was a batch of emails that got out, I don't know, a month
- 5:05or two ago. And boy, they, they just
- 5:09badmouth their own driver, which owner, I guess you could say so.
- 5:14So Curtis Polk and Eugene Mason, they're like executives at 2311.
- 5:21I maybe they own part of the team.
- 5:22Hell, I don't know. You know, when I look at it, I
- 5:25look at it as Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan own the team.
- 5:29May maybe Curtis Polk and Eugene Mason, maybe I don't know what
- 5:34they do. And I didn't care to look
- 5:35because I'm not a reporter. OK, I'm not reporting, but I'm a
- 5:41little perturbed, a little pissed off how they treat Denny
- 5:46behind Denny's back, Eugene Mason said.
- 5:51Denny's a child. And, and, and basically Denny
- 5:57started in with me that nobody respects his opinion.
- 6:02He gets, you know, kind of like Rodney Dangerfield.
- 6:05Danny feels like, you know, the executives there don't respect
- 6:10what he's saying. Now, if you go back to another
- 6:14one made months ago, Curtis Polk basically says the problem with
- 6:20Danny is that Danny likes to throw money at everything.
- 6:25He likes to spend money. Well, I'm like, fuck yeah,
- 6:27capitalism, baby, spend some money, spend some money.
- 6:31Now, when you realize, you know, listen, Danny was saying spend
- 6:37some money to make things better.
- 6:39He wasn't. He wasn't saying waste money.
- 6:42So there's definitely a difference between Curtis Polk
- 6:47and Denny on how to run 2311 Denny's.
- 6:51Like we need to, we need to invest more, we need to spend
- 6:53more and Curtis is over here. No, we don't need to.
- 6:56We need to figure out where to, you know, we don't want to do
- 6:59that. So behind Denny's back, Curtis
- 7:04and Eugene, they're bad mouthing Denny.
- 7:08And that pissed me off because I'm a race car driver and I know
- 7:12what it is like to be a driver in NASCAR.
- 7:15And I'm going to tell you right now the way it is, it's the crew
- 7:20chief against the driver. It's The Body Shop against the
- 7:25motor shop. And all NASCAR teams are like a
- 7:29little civil war inside the race shop.
- 7:32You know that. The body's no good, though.
- 7:34We ain't got no horsepower. The driver ain't driving right?
- 7:38That goes on 24/7, but these are high end executives and it
- 7:45seemed tell by my face. It's very disappointing.
- 7:48You know, I I always said one thing about people and if you've
- 7:56made it this far, one reason I like Trump is because he mother
- 8:02the right to your face. And then you got another group
- 8:07that they, they, they do behind your back.
- 8:12Don't do behind my back, motherfucker.
- 8:14Right to my face. So I know who my enemies are.
- 8:18And I think that's what Denny Hamlin's dealing with right now.
- 8:21He's dealing with a lot of people talking behind his back.
- 8:26I don't know how he does business, but I'm sure Michael
- 8:29Jordan's helping him figure it out.
- 8:32All right, have a great Sunday, everybody.
