- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome into Off The Bench.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Ooh, you're scary.
- 0:06Speaker 1: We're bringing you the spookiest sports talk in town. With
- 0:12Speaker 1: Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Terrifying and terrible.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Live from the haunted Raising Cane's studio.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Here's Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 0:37Speaker 5: Welcome back in OTB, hour number two.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Jake Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay, Wolfpack all here with you. Apparently, eventually,
- 1:10Speaker 2: we're getting a scary story. Yeah, it's a ghost story. Oh,
- 1:13Speaker 2: a ghost story.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Not necessarily scary. It's a ghost story, bud. Taylor brought
- 1:18Speaker 3: this to my attention a little bit earlier, this story.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Of course, it was a fascinating story. So we're going
- 1:26Speaker 3: to let the people know. Two days away from Halloween.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It is spooky season. We only have today and tomorrow
- 1:32Speaker 3: left of Robot Flynn, which I think we're all sad about.
- 1:37Speaker 6: No.
- 1:37Speaker 3: But everybody loves a good, scary story. So we'll get that.
- 1:41Speaker 3: We can do that at whenever. 8.15, 8.30. We'll have
- 1:46Speaker 3: it at 8.15. You don't seem real excited about it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You'd rather... I'm just asking the question. I don't know
- 1:51Speaker 2: anything about it. I feel like you're keeping... It is
- 1:53Speaker 2: a secret. I know, because we tried to talk about it.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It's a story. Do you want to know.
- 1:56Speaker 3: The end of the movie before you see it?
- 1:58Speaker 2: No, but... They're being weird. I'm not being weird. They're
- 2:02Speaker 2: being weird about it.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Taylor tried to give me, like, just one little nugget,
- 2:07Speaker 6: and he was like, don't tell her.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Don't tell her. Yeah, he did.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Matt was like, Taylor, this will ruin my life. I
- 2:13Speaker 3: was like, okay. Now y'all are making it weird. Now
- 2:18Speaker 3: it's building a story.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I'll tell you that I'll agree with you. Like, it's
- 2:22Speaker 4: better hearing it the first time.
- 2:24Speaker 2: For sure.
- 2:25Speaker 7: Y'all don't worry.
- 2:26Speaker 6: I texted management over at Pelican to Mars, and I
- 2:29Speaker 6: was like, sorry, can't do it anymore.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:32Speaker 6: So.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Or are they like, is there anything we can do
- 2:37Speaker 2: about that?
- 2:37Speaker 6: No, I'm like, no, this is fully for the good
- 2:41Speaker 6: of our football team.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Sure. I get it.
- 2:44Speaker 6: So if we make the playoffs, I think we could
- 2:46Speaker 6: just say it was thanks to me.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, it is. I'll go with that. It's fine.
- 2:53Speaker 2: All good.
- 3:00Speaker 7: Can't wait for this ghost story.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Tay-Tay. Yeah. Slay us on R.J. Lewis.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Judge yesterday.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I thought that was over.
- 3:13Speaker 4: It needs to be over.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Can we just stop doing this?
- 3:18Speaker 4: Local judge yesterday claims the SEC can't prevent him from
- 3:22Speaker 4: playing and all that sort of thing, and I just
- 3:25Speaker 4: think it's more trouble than what it's worth.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Is the juice worth the squeeze? No.
- 3:31Speaker 6: And Tony Clayton's like, Sorry, I had to sue LSU
- 3:34Speaker 6: and Coach Wade at the same time.
- 3:36Speaker 7: They're like collateral damage, I guess.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:39Speaker 7: But he did call Greg Sankey Kim Jong Sankey.
- 3:42Speaker 2: He did.
- 3:42Speaker 7: And that might be better than anything Donald Trump has ever.
- 3:46Speaker 2: He did call him that. Kim Jong Sankey. That's what
- 3:49Speaker 2: we call him. Everybody's saying it. No, they weren't.
- 3:51Speaker 7: He called him Kim Jong Sankey.
- 3:55Speaker 2: That's pretty funny.
- 3:58Speaker 7: It's that guy, Tony Clayton.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Well, so the thing that.
- 4:03Speaker 2: The thing that makes me nervous here worries me a
- 4:04Speaker 2: little bit. So I go to ESPN, and I'm checking
- 4:07Speaker 2: it out last night. I'm looking at stuff to talk about.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And the headline, Judge okays R.J. Lewis Jr. to join LSU.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And then it says, Lawyer says, Will Wade now in crosshairs.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I'm like, man, can we just go play basketball?
- 4:24Speaker 3: No.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Can we get a team, set the team, get the roster,
- 4:29Speaker 2: go play basketball? And I thought we had gotten to
- 4:33Speaker 2: that point, but it doesn't look like we are. And
- 4:39Speaker 2: then so his attorney, which you mentioned, Tay-Tay, Tony Clayton Jr.,
- 4:43Speaker 2: he told ESPN that if Will Wade refuses to play
- 4:46Speaker 2: their star guard, he will bring the LSU coach to
- 4:50Speaker 2: court and ask a judge to hold him in constructive contempt.
- 4:57Speaker 2: And in Louisiana, a person who violates an injunction or
- 5:00Speaker 2: restraining order can be fined up to $ 1, 000 and imprisoned
- 5:05Speaker 2: for up to six months.
- 5:07Speaker 7: That's crazy.
- 5:11Speaker 3: Is he violating the injunction? I don't know.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I'm not a lawyer, but it kind of sounds like
- 5:15Speaker 4: he's allowed to play. It doesn't mean he's required to play.
- 5:18Speaker 4: I kind of feel like those are two different things. Yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 4: he's not good enough.
- 5:22Speaker 3: He didn't fit our scheme. He missed the layup in
- 5:25Speaker 3: practice yesterday.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Can't have that on our team. Yeah, I don't know
- 5:29Speaker 4: how you can prove that. I think this whole thing's
- 5:33Speaker 4: pretty dumb.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Okay, it's so stupid. Oh, look, it continues.
- 5:36Speaker 3: You talking about the Big Ten Player of the Year?
- 5:38Speaker 2: This is from Big E.
- 5:39Speaker 3: From two years ago.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Big E.
- 5:41Speaker 7: From two years ago.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Big E. That's a thing. Not in basketball, it is.
- 5:46Speaker 2: This is also from attorney Tony Clayton. I'm telling you
- 5:50Speaker 2: we're going to use the long arm of the law
- 5:53Speaker 2: to force Will Wade to play him because I'm not
- 5:55Speaker 2: going to allow these folks to play musical chairs.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Why does he have to play at LSU?
- 6:02Speaker 2: He continues on. We would bring in Coach Wade to
- 6:06Speaker 2: quest when he has the, you know, we'd hold him
- 6:07Speaker 2: in contempt of court. And then he also says, I
- 6:10Speaker 2: would not advise anyone to be in contempt of court.
- 6:14Speaker 2: This judge is real. He's a real one. Judges, aren't
- 6:22Speaker 2: him not real? Yeah, I don't think there's any fake
- 6:24Speaker 2: ones out there.
- 6:25Speaker 6: I mean, LSU's not playing him because the SEC is
- 6:28Speaker 6: telling them that he is not.
- 6:30Speaker 7: Able to play.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, look, we're not going to get any favors from
- 6:33Speaker 2: the SEC as it is. Right. You heard Lane Kiffin
- 6:36Speaker 2: talk about that yesterday or the other day.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I think you've said it pretty good already. I mean,
- 6:42Speaker 3: I think we speak for everybody and just say, like,
- 6:46Speaker 3: We're tired of hearing stupid lawyers talk about it.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Like, just go play sports. Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 4: It's like, I'm going to force Will Wade and LSU
- 6:53Speaker 4: to let this guy play.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 6:55Speaker 3: That's going to be good for the locker room and
- 6:56Speaker 3: team chemistry.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 3: It's going to go over really well.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, just like.
- 7:00Speaker 3: This is setting up for success.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Just shut up.
- 7:07Speaker 3: There's just a lot of people that are like, well,
- 7:09Speaker 3: you know, Louisiana law. Maybe I'm wrong on this.
- 7:12Speaker 4: I view the real world. In college athletics, completely separate.
- 7:17Speaker 4: And you could say, do you want to listen to
- 7:19Speaker 4: the SEC's rule over Louisiana law?
- 7:21Speaker 3: In terms of sports, yes, I absolutely would. If I
- 7:23Speaker 3: was Will Wade, I think he's doing.
- 7:24Speaker 2: The right thing.
- 7:26Speaker 6: I think there would be repercussions for Wade from not
- 7:30Speaker 6: only the SEC, but LSU too, if he were to
- 7:34Speaker 6: play that.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Not worth it. Here's some more quotes from Tony Clayton.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Coach Wade is an honorable man, but he too has
- 7:43Speaker 2: to answer to somebody. And I will be the first
- 7:45Speaker 2: to tell him Sankey is not your God. You have
- 7:49Speaker 2: to follow the rules. He's absolutely in my crosshairs. Will
- 7:52Speaker 2: Wade is directly in my crosshairs. If he were to
- 7:55Speaker 2: stand in the way, then let the chips fall where
- 7:58Speaker 2: they may.
- 7:59Speaker 4: He has to answer to someone and Sankey is not
- 8:01Speaker 4: your God.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Guess what, Mr.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Clayton?
- 8:03Speaker 3: Neither are you.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Will Wade answers to the university president. He answers to
- 8:07Speaker 4: Virg Hallsbury, the athletic director. He don't answer to you.
- 8:10Speaker 4: He's going to do what they tell him to do.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Not you.
- 8:17Speaker 6: Why are Louisiana politicians so involved in LSU sports?
- 8:21Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I
- 8:30Speaker 2: think it's frustrating because it felt like, okay, these players
- 8:35Speaker 2: were ready to play. You got them. This is the roster.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Let's go. Yeah. It felt like we finally came to
- 8:41Speaker 2: a conclusion, and you got to the finish line, and
- 8:43Speaker 2: then now, like yesterday– This pops up on your phone,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and you're like, this is old.
- 8:49Speaker 4: And it's like all these people are claiming like, oh,
- 8:52Speaker 4: we're from Louisiana.
- 8:53Speaker 3: We're LSU fans. All you're kind of doing is hurting
- 8:55Speaker 3: them now.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 7: I want to know what Tony Clayton.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Do they think they're cool when they say that?
- 9:00Speaker 3: Right. It's tough to run for. You're kind of just
- 9:02Speaker 3: making it worse. It's like you could screw up a
- 9:04Speaker 3: rock fight right now.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 3: It's kind of just making it worse.
- 9:07Speaker 7: What are you trying to run for, sir?
- 9:10Speaker 2: Bat Sheriff.
- 9:12Speaker 7: Yeah, Matt Sheriff. What is Tim Clayton trying to run for?
- 9:14Speaker 7: Because why are.
- 9:14Speaker 2: You getting all of this? Yeah, we know what I'm
- 9:16Speaker 2: running for. Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Change is coming.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Change is coming.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I'm a sheriff.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Things, things.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Want to be flashed? Vote for him.
- 9:27Speaker 7: If you're the sheriff, can you force Will Wade to
- 9:30Speaker 7: play R.J. Lewis?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Why not? Why not?
- 9:37Speaker 6: Whew.
- 9:38Speaker 3: All right.
- 9:40Speaker 2: That was a scary story.
- 9:42Speaker 7: Man, we weren't even at the ghost yet.
- 9:44Speaker 2: That wasn't even, yeah. I know.
- 9:46Speaker 4: I feel like that one's the scarier one.
- 9:48Speaker 2: That one is terrible.
- 9:49Speaker 6: I know. I do love this quote because it's so
- 9:52Speaker 6: southern courtroom. I think it's going to be a big
- 9:56Speaker 6: damage suit, this is Tony Clayton. You've ruined these kids.
- 10:00Speaker 6: You've put a scarlet letter around their necks. They'll just
- 10:03Speaker 6: be tarnished for the rest of their lives after the
- 10:05Speaker 6: whole deal was over with. It just sucked the life
- 10:08Speaker 6: out of these kids and stopped their ability to play ball.
- 10:12Speaker 6: You can't make it make sense. I just don't understand
- 10:15Speaker 6: the guy talking about Sankey.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 10:18Speaker 3: He was the Big East Player of the Year two
- 10:21Speaker 3: years ago.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He's not a kid.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Also, this is different.
- 10:25Speaker 2: He can play ball.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Well, this is different than Daquan Wright and Zavian Harris, right?
- 10:29Speaker 4: Because the argument was, oh, well, they didn't know they
- 10:31Speaker 4: were going to have eligibility. They wouldn't have went pro.
- 10:34Speaker 6: R.J.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Lewis had years of eligibility left, and he voluntarily chose
- 10:37Speaker 4: to leave and go to the NBA. I'm sorry, man, but,
- 10:40Speaker 4: I mean, actions have consequences.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I think he's also preparing, like, a suit for– Xavier,
- 10:48Speaker 6: Xavier Wright or Harris.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 7: And Daquan Wright. I got their names mixed up.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Xavier Harris and Daquan Wright. I think he's going to
- 10:57Speaker 6: help them out to help those kids out.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I threatened Lane Kiffin.
- 11:05Speaker 7: I guess so.
- 11:09Speaker 3: All right.
- 11:10Speaker 7: This kid that's 23 years old.
- 11:12Speaker 2: We're not, we're not ruining his name. We don't know.
- 11:16Speaker 3: All we know, we just have, I feel like, just
- 11:18Speaker 3: kind of use common sense reactions on this show a lot.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And that really all sounds really stupid. Right.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Like, I don't know the laws and the rules and regulations, but, like,
- 11:29Speaker 4: I would like to move on.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It's like that parent. You better play my kid. Why
- 11:39Speaker 2: are you benching him? He's been in the whole district
- 11:44Speaker 2: two years in a row. Honorable mention.
- 11:52Speaker 7: In a 14 district.
- 11:53Speaker 2: 14 district. It's not last.
- 11:56Speaker 7: It's not. It's honorable mention.
- 12:00Speaker 2: That's fair. It's real fair. All right. So again, this
- 12:04Speaker 2: is something that we actually thought not was going like
- 12:07Speaker 2: completely away because obviously there's some hurt feelings in this
- 12:10Speaker 2: and we felt like LSU is probably going to have
- 12:12Speaker 2: to be the at the end of those hurt feelings
- 12:15Speaker 2: some way somehow. But now it popped back up, and
- 12:18Speaker 2: we'll see. Because, I mean, again, we all know, because
- 12:22Speaker 2: we talked about it at the time, that earlier this month,
- 12:25Speaker 2: Will Wade did announce that LSU would follow the SEC guidelines,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and that result was the Tigers would not roster R.J. Lewis.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So that's where his stance was, and now you've got
- 12:35Speaker 2: Tony Clayton saying, Will Wade will be in my crosshairs.
- 12:39Speaker 2: And we got, like, real games, like, very soon. Very,
- 12:44Speaker 2: very soon. You've already played exhibition games. Like, you have
- 12:46Speaker 2: real games very soon. We'll see where this leads to
- 12:49Speaker 2: and see if anything throughout today's show comes back up.
- 12:52Speaker 2: All right, we will take a break. More OTB when
- 12:55Speaker 2: we come back here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 12:58Speaker 2: All right, go to TrashRangers.com. TrashRangers.com. Residential Commercial Trash Pickup Service.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Go to that website to see if you are one
- 13:07Speaker 2: of the lucky ones that is in the trash pickup area.
- 13:11Speaker 2: But also know, like, roll-off dumpsters, we're talking to everybody, right?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Normal dumpsters, we're talking to you, too. Like, if you
- 13:16Speaker 2: want one of your business here in the Capital City area,
- 13:19Speaker 2: they're going to be able to help you out. Also,
- 13:21Speaker 2: sanitation departments. So, if you're hosting an event or you
- 13:24Speaker 2: have a job site and you need a portable restroom,

- 13:29Speaker 2: They're going to be there for you as well. TrashRangers.com.
- 13:32Speaker 2: That's right. TrashRangers.com.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Louisiana's most reliable trash removal, trash pickup service. But don't
- 13:37Speaker 3: forget about their sanitation department. Talking about those portable toilets.

- 13:44Speaker 3: have maybe you have a construction company maybe a good
- 13:46Speaker 3: job um that's a an outdoor job maybe you have

- 14:00Speaker 2: But hold it down with soggy clothes and.

- 14:19Speaker 2: I pretend that my heart is sharp enough.
- 14:49Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in.

- 15:34Speaker 2: the African 2025. You probably guessed it already, but you'd
- 15:38Speaker 2: be right if you said Tommy's Windows, Doors, and Siding.

- 15:42Speaker 2: full list of services on their website. Check out a
- 15:44Speaker 2: full gallery of work on their website. And check out
- 15:46Speaker 2: those awards that we talk about all the time. Go
- 15:48Speaker 2: to GoTommies, G-E-A-U-X, Tommies with a Y dot com. All right, Matthew.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Disappoint us this week with your quarterback rankings. Disappoint you?
- 15:58Speaker 2: What are you talking about?
- 15:59Speaker 3: These things have been perfect every single week. And Jake,
- 16:02Speaker 3: I got a really good feeling you're going to like
- 16:04Speaker 3: this one.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Okay. And no.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Justin Herbert is not number one. I didn't think he'd
- 16:10Speaker 3: be on the list. He'd actually be probably like 53,
- 16:13Speaker 3: I think. 53?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Probably.
- 16:16Speaker 7: That's brutal.
- 16:18Speaker 2: You hear that noise? You hear that music? Yeah. That's
- 16:21Speaker 2: National Football League right there. It's NFL football music right there, Jake. Yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 2: I'm aware. He's got bad energy today.
- 16:32Speaker 7: Jake, stop with your bad energy.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry. I need good energy. It's spooky energy. You're
- 16:37Speaker 2: just in the spirit. All right. Just kidding, bud. We
- 16:40Speaker 2: all love you. Let's go to it.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Flens, week seven, or after week seven, top 10 NFL quarterbacks.
- 16:52Speaker 2: What? What was that?
- 16:53Speaker 7: Oh, I thought I saw something else.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Number 10.
- 16:59Speaker 2: C.J.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Stroud coming in, still in the top ten, man. They
- 17:03Speaker 3: just can't figure out how to win a game. He's
- 17:06Speaker 3: ahead of penalize them. He drops two spots on the list.
- 17:12Speaker 3: But he's still having a really good season. He's thrown
- 17:15Speaker 3: for nearly 2,000 yards already, 11 touchdowns, only one interception,
- 17:20Speaker 3: still has a triple-digit quarterback rating, right over 100 on
- 17:23Speaker 3: the quarterback rating. He's rushed for 80 yards. He's got
- 17:27Speaker 3: a rushing touchdown as well. But he drops here just
- 17:30Speaker 3: because their team can't figure it out. I don't know
- 17:33Speaker 3: what's happening. I don't know how they were so good
- 17:36Speaker 3: last year. And their defense was so threatening. And then
- 17:39Speaker 3: all of a sudden, nine times two, number 18 comes
- 17:42Speaker 3: in there this past weekend. And the Giants take one
- 17:46Speaker 3: from the Houston Texans in overtime. So they're two and five.
- 17:49Speaker 3: He drops it. But he's playing. I mean, he's playing
- 17:51Speaker 3: like a top ten right now. This is as close
- 17:53Speaker 3: as we've seen since his rookie year. And nobody has
- 17:56Speaker 3: hated on C.J. Stroud more than me, but he still
- 17:59Speaker 3: makes the top ten this week.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Let's go. Number nine. He's back.
- 18:05Speaker 3: My God, it just took one. It just took one
- 18:07Speaker 3: good performance. Matthew Stafford, you're back. They aren't as good
- 18:13Speaker 3: as anybody hoped, but they get a win. They get
- 18:16Speaker 3: a win this past weekend. The league's yardage leader threw
- 18:18Speaker 3: for three touchdowns and nearly 115 quarterback rating on the
- 18:23Speaker 3: road this past weekend.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Um, so he is back. Matthew Stafford, the reigning NFL MVP.
- 18:28Speaker 3: It's been a disappointing season for the Rams, but it
- 18:32Speaker 3: is still for, you could actually say for them a
- 18:35Speaker 3: laundry that there's a lot of football left.
- 18:36Speaker 7: So much.
- 18:37Speaker 2: There is a lot.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Now I know they've had, they got some injuries they're
- 18:40Speaker 3: dealing with, but they are still uber talented. So if
- 18:42Speaker 3: they can just figure it out, John McVay, I think
- 18:45Speaker 3: we all still think pretty good football coach, Matthew Stafford,
- 18:49Speaker 3: pretty good quarterback. You got those two things, you got
- 18:52Speaker 3: a chance. So Matthew Stafford, you're back. He's number nine.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Number eight. There he is. There's that man, Caleb Williams.
- 19:03Speaker 3: And he's coming for everybody in front of him. 88
- 19:08Speaker 3: of 124 this season, 1,020 yards, five touchdowns to one interception.
- 19:12Speaker 3: But I think we all know what Caleb Williams can be,
- 19:15Speaker 3: what he is, and how well he is playing and
- 19:17Speaker 3: navigating the That Ben Johnson offense, he's doing pretty well.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Back from hamstring injury.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Back-to-back 300-yard games since he's come back from that, you know,
- 19:28Speaker 3: what some people, their whole careers would have been ended
- 19:31Speaker 3: after that injury, Taylor.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Jeez.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Taylor was so quick to jump on him and make
- 19:36Speaker 3: fun of Caleb Williams when he got hurt.
- 19:38Speaker 2: He came back.
- 19:38Speaker 3: It didn't have anything to do with his play.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Still doing it.
- 19:43Speaker 3: He's a good player, yeah.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Number seven. Mr.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Drake May.
- 19:50Speaker 6: Okay.
- 19:51Speaker 2: He's creeping.
- 19:52Speaker 3: He's creeping on up there. He had a big night.
- 19:54Speaker 3: They lost, but still a big night. 321 yards and
- 19:56Speaker 3: three total touchdowns. Interesting that you.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Would put him ahead of Caleb when Caleb just beat
- 20:02Speaker 2: him head up.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Let's not question the process.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Okay. Let's just admire it. All right.
- 20:08Speaker 3: It was a great game. It was a fantastic Thursday
- 20:11Speaker 3: night game. And he had a little seven-yard touchdown run, sir.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I think he's playing well. These guys are fighting back
- 20:18Speaker 3: and forth. I'm not going to 100% say. I calculated
- 20:22Speaker 3: that in my who was seven and who was number eight.
- 20:25Speaker 3: But Drake May was in the list last week, so
- 20:28Speaker 3: we know how lists and rankings go. If you're already
- 20:30Speaker 3: on there, you get a little bit of the benefit
- 20:33Speaker 3: of the doubt.
- 20:33Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Is this the AP poll? Yeah, pretty much. MF Bowl.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Number six. Patty Mahomes. Man, he's been threatening. And I
- 20:47Speaker 3: don't want to penalize somebody too much who's only lost
- 20:50Speaker 3: one game this season.
- 20:51Speaker 2: But guess what? There are rules.
- 20:54Speaker 3: There are things that everybody's got to live by. And, yeah,
- 20:57Speaker 3: he gets more benefit of the doubt than most people
- 21:00Speaker 3: because he's earned it. Got a lot more skins on
- 21:04Speaker 3: the wall.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And he does.
- 21:08Speaker 3: No touchdowns. Three points. Offense looked brutal. Something's got to happen.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Something's got to give. I'm going to drop him three
- 21:16Speaker 3: spots to number six, but he's Patrick Mahomes. I fully
- 21:19Speaker 3: expect him to creep back on up. I fully expect
- 21:23Speaker 3: him to potentially be the top quarterback in the NFL
- 21:26Speaker 3: by the end.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Of the season. I don't think so. Throw into who?
- 21:32Speaker 2: His leading receivers in that game were two tight ends
- 21:34Speaker 2: and a running back. Whoever they trade for with the Colts.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Josh Downs? Yeah. Why not? You know who they need
- 21:41Speaker 2: to go get? I do. BTJ. That's exactly what I
- 21:46Speaker 2: was going to say. They're going to get Tyreek in November. Okay, well,
- 21:51Speaker 2: I'm talking about BTJ right now. Yeah. In October. Okay.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And Downs. They're all available. Why not? They got to
- 22:00Speaker 2: go get somebody. Their receivers are bad. Bad, bad. Xavier
- 22:06Speaker 2: Worthy's just not it. He ain't. Uh-uh.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Like, if you want a contested catch, like when it matters,
- 22:13Speaker 3: when it's off schedule, no.
- 22:15Speaker 2: It ain't him. Nope. It ain't him. He can probably
- 22:19Speaker 2: have a little carved-out role for him for, like, a
- 22:22Speaker 2: speed receiver, maybe some– but being a go-to guy on
- 22:26Speaker 2: third and seven? Yeah. Uh-uh. Not at all.
- 22:30Speaker 3: When you catch the ball seven out of every ten
- 22:32Speaker 3: passes thrown to you, it's not a good– that's not good.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he'd be the classic. guy that my dad used
- 22:37Speaker 2: to yell one catch per ball because he always double
- 22:40Speaker 2: catches it.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Catch it the first time, bud. I think that's all
- 22:45Speaker 3: special on him. Doesn't he have some nice cars, though?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Cars? I had some cards of his that aren't very
- 22:51Speaker 2: nice right now. Xavier Worthy.
- 22:54Speaker 3: He's really fast, though.
- 22:55Speaker 2: All right. So do you.
- 22:56Speaker 3: So Patrick Rose is OK at six right there for you.
- 22:59Speaker 2: You like that then? Yeah, it's good.
- 23:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 2: That's good. I told you you're going to like this list.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Six is good.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Are you all ready for the top five? This is
- 23:05Speaker 3: a big deal. This is a big deal for all
- 23:06Speaker 3: these guys. They're going to call their parents. They're going
- 23:09Speaker 3: to talk to their wives after. They're like, guess what
- 23:11Speaker 3: I did?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Tell their children.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Guess what happened this week on Thursday?
- 23:16Speaker 6: What?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Off the bench. I was in the top five.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Number five.
- 23:21Speaker 3: T-Law, Trevor Lawrence, playing really well. 14 touchdowns, four interceptions
- 23:26Speaker 3: on the season.
- 23:27Speaker 2: 106.2 QBR.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Jaguars, four and two. We believe that they're probably in
- 23:36Speaker 3: the top echelon of teams in the NFL. Now, how
- 23:39Speaker 3: top are they? Kind of remains to be seen. A
- 23:41Speaker 3: lot of football left the laundry.
- 23:44Speaker 2: They were in a pie.
- 23:46Speaker 7: I really do hate that.
- 23:48Speaker 3: He has two touchdowns off the league lead on fewer
- 23:52Speaker 3: attempts than anyone else.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Who has the lead in touchdowns in the NFL? Jerk off? Nope.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I mean, it can't be Purdy the way you said that.
- 24:09Speaker 7: It's got to be somebody that you wouldn't think.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Bryce Young?
- 24:13Speaker 6: Nope.
- 24:13Speaker 7: That's a good guess.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Jordan Long?
- 24:15Speaker 6: Nope.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:18Speaker 7: Daniel Jones.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I'll give you a hint because I thought y'all would
- 24:21Speaker 2: get this pretty quick. I was shocked. He's about to
- 24:24Speaker 2: get replaced. Oh, my gosh. Yes. It ain't none.
- 24:33Speaker 7: That's what I was thinking.
- 24:34Speaker 3: No, you just did the replacing. Who's about to get
- 24:36Speaker 3: replaced at quarterback?
- 24:41Speaker 2: I'm trying to think. I'm going to blink.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins.
- 24:45Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 2: He's getting replaced?
- 24:46Speaker 7: Clint Kubiak said there's no competition there.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to happen. I mean, he shouldn't. No,
- 24:51Speaker 2: he's like a finish to you.
- 24:53Speaker 7: He's still slaying it.
- 24:54Speaker 2: And I think people are like, it's not because of him. Like, he's.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I did this breakdown yesterday.
- 24:59Speaker 8: Like.
- 25:00Speaker 2: First in touchdowns. He's like 23rd in sacks. He's only
- 25:03Speaker 2: taken 10 sacks. I think he's 12th in quarterback rating.
- 25:08Speaker 2: He's like 4th or 5th in yards or something. So
- 25:11Speaker 2: it's not like what he's doing. It's just you have
- 25:13Speaker 2: number one pick, and you're 3 and 4 now. He
- 25:16Speaker 2: lost four in a row. Yeah. And they're going to
- 25:18Speaker 2: see what they have in Fernando Mendoza. I would trade
- 25:20Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins to Philly or Minnesota. I'd get something back
- 25:24Speaker 2: for him. Yeah, Kirk Cousins leading the NFL 16 touchdowns.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I actually took him out of the top 10, like,
- 25:30Speaker 2: Five minutes before this. So he was in there. I
- 25:33Speaker 2: just took him out.
- 25:34Speaker 3: All right, let's go to number four.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Mr.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Josh Allen, down two from the previous week.
- 25:41Speaker 2: They had a bye.
- 25:41Speaker 3: I didn't want to bring him down, but I needed to.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Make some statements. Yeah, bye week's salty this year.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Bye week is very salty. They were getting out teeth.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Trevor Lawrence didn't move in a bye week. Josh Allen,
- 25:51Speaker 3: he's moving a little bit. I don't need to really
- 25:53Speaker 3: explain it. It's Josh Allen. He's deservedly in the top five,
- 25:57Speaker 3: and he will be. And he's going to move from
- 25:59Speaker 3: five to one and back and forth and ping pong around.
- 26:02Speaker 3: But there's other statements that I need to make with
- 26:04Speaker 3: my list.
- 26:04Speaker 2: So let's see them. Number three. Mr. Joe Burrow. Moving
- 26:10Speaker 2: up four spots. Joey B.
- 26:12Speaker 3: To the top three. So, Joe, go ahead and print
- 26:14Speaker 3: this one out. Put it on the fridge because it's
- 26:16Speaker 3: going to be something to look at. Print the t-shirts.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Print the t-shirts.
- 26:22Speaker 2: What a performance.
- 26:23Speaker 3: 143.3 QBR this past week. Four touchdowns versus the Baltimore
- 26:29Speaker 3: Ravens in a winning effort. 15 touchdowns this season to
- 26:33Speaker 3: only three interceptions. Touting 110.4 QBR. Best game of the
- 26:40Speaker 3: week by anybody, and it wasn't even close. Four touchdowns,
- 26:44Speaker 3: no picks on the road. Look out for the Bengals.
- 26:49Speaker 3: I think this year they've tried to establish the run
- 26:51Speaker 3: game for a good portion of the season. And I
- 26:54Speaker 3: think they just realized, you know, we can do this.
- 26:57Speaker 3: We got all these, like, people have made fun of
- 26:59Speaker 3: us for, like, paying all these receivers and Joe, blah, blah, blah.
- 27:03Speaker 2: But guess what? It's kind of who we are. We're
- 27:04Speaker 2: just going to line up a shotgun, and we're going
- 27:06Speaker 2: to throw the hell out of the ball. And that's
- 27:07Speaker 2: who we are.
- 27:07Speaker 3: And we got one of the best quarterbacks doing it
- 27:10Speaker 3: right now, Joe Burrow, number three.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Number two. Brock Birdie.
- 27:17Speaker 7: I know this hurt you to do.
- 27:20Speaker 3: He's fallen number one. He's not number one on the
- 27:22Speaker 3: list anymore. He is number two.
- 27:26Speaker 2: They lost. They lost to Michael Penix. Maybe Michael Penix
- 27:30Speaker 2: is number one. Maybe nine's number one. Maybe nine.
- 27:34Speaker 3: That would be legit. Or maybe it's just the Niners.
- 27:37Speaker 3: So both quarterbacks who were undefeated getting penalized. This one
- 27:43Speaker 3: not so severe. Brock Purdy still having an MVP caliber season.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I anticipate he's going to bounce back and do awesome,
- 27:48Speaker 3: but I cannot over as much as I've wanted to.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I've tried white bread. My God, I've just tried to
- 27:56Speaker 3: overlook it, and I just can't do it anymore.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Best quarterback in the NFL. You shouldn't. You shouldn't try
- 28:05Speaker 2: to do it.
- 28:06Speaker 6: Mr.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Jared Goff.
- 28:07Speaker 3: And I told you that. Jared Goff.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I've been telling you forever. You haven't been telling me nothing.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Zero interceptions. Taylor, did I do a whole segment on
- 28:15Speaker 2: how in the last three years, Jared Goff has the
- 28:18Speaker 2: most yards, most touchdowns, most wins? Yeah, you did. Okay, weird.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I think I picked him for MVP. We've been on
- 28:24Speaker 3: this Jared Goff thing. Dude, he's been a stud.
- 28:26Speaker 2: You're actually last on the train.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Okay, we'll do your list tomorrow then. Jared Goff, best
- 28:31Speaker 3: quarterback in the NFL. Up three from week six. And
- 28:38Speaker 3: before that, he was like up three or four from
- 28:40Speaker 3: that week. I told you, white bread. It's nothing sexy.
- 28:43Speaker 3: It's nothing flashy. And that's what I want. Out of
- 28:45Speaker 3: the best.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Quarterback in the league, I want flashy.
- 28:47Speaker 3: I want a little bit of sex.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I want a little sizzle.
- 28:50Speaker 3: You don't get it from Jared Goff.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He's boring. I don't know. He's kind of a silent assassin.
- 28:55Speaker 2: He is a silent assassin. I agree.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Which I would argue is sexy.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Lodge said it.
- 29:02Speaker 7: I know you think that you're like.
- 29:04Speaker 2: He was also Bobby Boucher for Halloween. He was.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Which, I mean, that puts him at number one by himself.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yep. Yep. Decision's over.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Highest passer rating among the NFL's top 25 passers by
- 29:15Speaker 3: yards and still hasn't thrown an interception. Beat the Packers
- 29:18Speaker 3: to get to four and two a handful of weeks ago.
- 29:21Speaker 3: If we would have said the Lions are 4-2, they
- 29:23Speaker 3: didn't start off great, but they got it rolling. And
- 29:27Speaker 3: it all starts with Mr. Jared Goff.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 29:29Speaker 3: So congratulations, sir. You can tell your family, tell your wife,
- 29:33Speaker 3: print the T-shirts. You are number one on the Flynn's
- 29:35Speaker 3: top ten after week seven in the NFL. Let's take
- 29:38Speaker 3: a look at the superlatives. We got kicked out of
- 29:43Speaker 3: the top ten.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Mr.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Bryce Young, who was previously number six, who was previously
- 29:46Speaker 3: I think two or three before that.
- 29:47Speaker 7: Yeah, he was up there.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Kirk Thuggins. Man, I'm just sorry. You're going to get
- 29:52Speaker 3: kicked out by your own team. So I had to
- 29:54Speaker 3: kick you out of the top ten. I think you
- 29:56Speaker 3: probably deserve it, but you're not.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Feeling frisky.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Mr.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Jordan Love, Mr. Aaron Rodgers, and Mr. Michael Penix Jr.
- 30:05Speaker 3: for the Falcons. All three of those guys feeling frisky.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers not doing a ton of sexy things in
- 30:10Speaker 3: a game, but being highly efficient. It's a beautiful thing
- 30:13Speaker 3: to watch somebody operate an offense and put everybody in
- 30:16Speaker 3: the right position. It's not beautiful when it's against the Saints.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Aaron said that was the most enjoyable plane ride from
- 30:24Speaker 2: an away game back home that he's had in his career. Yep.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I can see that. You must not have been very entertaining,
- 30:31Speaker 2: I guess. Those away trips.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Flynn Credible Performance of the Week goes to Mr.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Joe Burrow. All right, Joe.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Talked to his parents in the Mississippi State game, pregame.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Lovely people. I've talked to them before. That was the
- 30:45Speaker 3: first time I've sat and talked to them for an
- 30:46Speaker 3: extended period of time. Incredible people.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Incredible people.
- 30:50Speaker 3: That's great.
- 30:51Speaker 4: That game was 13-0 Ravens at halftime. They scored 35
- 30:55Speaker 4: second-half points.
- 30:56Speaker 2: 35 unanswered.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Whoops.
- 30:58Speaker 2: There you go.
- 30:59Speaker 7: Great list.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Not a bad list at all, sir.
- 31:02Speaker 7: Not a bad list.
- 31:02Speaker 6: I'm a little, not about the list, but I'm just
- 31:05Speaker 6: a little mad because I went back to look at
- 31:06Speaker 6: our OTB predictions that we made in the preseason, right?
- 31:10Speaker 6: I'm so mad because I got the New York team wrong.
- 31:14Speaker 7: I said J.J. McCarthy starts for the Jets. This is starting.
- 31:21Speaker 3: For the Giants.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I'm so mad. That was close. I would love to
- 31:23Speaker 2: count it, too.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I would love to count it, too.
- 31:25Speaker 7: But it doesn't count. It's the wrong New York team.
- 31:28Speaker 7: But I was almost there.
- 31:31Speaker 3: I think if we counted it, I think it would
- 31:33Speaker 3: be sending the wrong message to our.
- 31:35Speaker 7: No, for sure.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Any other bold ones that are.
- 31:37Speaker 7: That's why I was looking.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I don't remember what they were.
- 31:41Speaker 6: Matt has one that I think maybe, like, if they...
- 31:44Speaker 6: I think this one might happen. Texas finishes out the
- 31:46Speaker 6: top ten. I know Jackson darts out. What's he out with?
- 31:52Speaker 2: Oh, it was a knee.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Okay. So he did not get a concussion.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:56Speaker 2: So that one.
- 31:57Speaker 3: No, that one.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Season's over.
- 32:02Speaker 7: What's Taekwon Thornton doing?
- 32:04Speaker 2: I got hurt. He was.
- 32:06Speaker 7: Oh, that's so true. I forgot. His foot was like
- 32:08Speaker 7: the wrong way.
- 32:08Speaker 1: The game he had.
- 32:09Speaker 2: He had like 100 something yards.
- 32:10Speaker 3: He was falling out.
- 32:15Speaker 6: A lot of football left.
- 32:19Speaker 7: I'm so mad about my J.J.
- 32:20Speaker 6: McCarthy thing. I have sellers with 22 or more touchdown passes.
- 32:27Speaker 7: How many has he got?
- 32:28Speaker 3: 13, I think.
- 32:30Speaker 7: A lot of football left.
- 32:31Speaker 2: A lot of football left, people.
- 32:32Speaker 3: If anybody's wondering, Xavier Leguette.
- 32:36Speaker 7: You didn't put him on this time.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I was wondering. 64 yards.
- 32:40Speaker 3: If Jared Goff.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Beats Minnesota this week to go to 5-2. Throws, what, 240,
- 32:49Speaker 4: two touchdowns, still no interceptions. Is he the MVP favorite?
- 32:52Speaker 4: Because I think he should be.
- 32:54Speaker 2: He's number one on this list. So you know the
- 32:56Speaker 2: number one team as far as blitzing in the NFL,
- 32:58Speaker 2: Minnesota Vikings. You know the number one quarterback against the
- 33:00Speaker 2: blitz in the NFL? Probably Jared Goff. Probably Jared Goff.

- 34:34Speaker 2: welcome back here. OTV.
- 34:38Speaker 3: When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy. One
- 34:41Speaker 3: company helping shape the future is Catalyst. Catalyst, developed in
- 34:44Speaker 3: the Commonwealth LNG Export Facility over there in Cameron Parish,
- 34:47Speaker 3: connecting American natural gas with customers around the world. Now
- 34:51Speaker 3: under construction after reaching its final investment decision in 2026,
- 34:54Speaker 3: the product represents a major investment in Louisiana's future. but
- 34:58Speaker 3: it's about more than just exporting energy. It's about creating jobs.
- 35:01Speaker 3: It's about supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and reinforcing Louisiana's
- 35:05Speaker 3: position as one of the world's leading energy hubs. Through
- 35:08Speaker 3: its natural gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project, Hatteras
- 35:12Speaker 3: is helping build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic
- 35:15Speaker 3: resources with growing global demand. As construction continues, On Louisiana's
- 35:20Speaker 3: Gulf Coast, Catters is proud to invest in American energy,
- 35:22Speaker 3: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Catters, connecting Louisiana
- 35:26Speaker 3: energy to the world.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Jake, guess what today is. October 29th.
- 35:34Speaker 3: October 29th is correct. That's two days away from Halloween.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yep. And you know what? We don't do it a
- 35:40Speaker 2: lot anymore, but you know what everybody loves during Halloween?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Everybody loves a ghost story. Okay. A little spooky story. Well.
- 35:50Speaker 3: I want to credit our own Taylor Sharp for this one.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Brought this to my attention this morning, and I found
- 35:55Speaker 3: it fascinating. So I thought the good people of Louisiana,
- 36:00Speaker 3: nay the world, might want to hear a little spooky story.
- 36:05Speaker 3: This one is set in Hollywood.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Hold on a second. Are you all ready? We got
- 36:10Speaker 2: a little PowerPoint.
- 36:12Speaker 3: I'm ready.
- 36:13Speaker 2: That didn't work. That didn't play. A PowerPoint for a
- 36:18Speaker 2: ghost story? Absolutely. It's a nerdy ghost story.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Ghost story I'm going to tell you the story about
- 36:23Speaker 3: the curse of a took that's 80 UK right see
- 36:31Speaker 3: there Jake it's our PowerPoint okay every town has a
- 36:36Speaker 3: house nobody will buy every ballpark has a seat nobody
- 36:39Speaker 3: wants and in Hollywood a town that will make a
- 36:42Speaker 3: movie out of anything there is one script that has
- 36:47Speaker 3: been sitting in a drawer for more than 40 years
- 36:50Speaker 3: Nobody will make it. Nobody wants to be in it.
- 36:54Speaker 3: And the people who know its history won't even pick
- 36:57Speaker 3: it up. It starts innocently enough. In 1963, a Canadian
- 37:02Speaker 3: writer named Mordecai Richler published a novel called The Incomparable Atuk.
- 37:10Speaker 3: It's a comedy. It tells the story of an Inuit poet.
- 37:13Speaker 3: An Inuit is an indigenous person to Alaska. an Inuit
- 37:16Speaker 3: poet who leaves the frozen north for the bright lights
- 37:19Speaker 3: of Toronto and gets swallowed whole by money, fame, and
- 37:23Speaker 3: the big city. It's a funny little book. A harmless
- 37:26Speaker 3: little book. Hollywood read it and saw a star vehicle.
- 37:31Speaker 3: The kind of part that needs a big, loud, fearless
- 37:35Speaker 3: comic actor. Somebody who can fill a screen all by himself.
- 37:40Speaker 3: And so the studio went looking for him. In the
- 37:44Speaker 3: early 1980s, the script found its way to the biggest
- 37:47Speaker 3: comedian in America, Saturday Night Live, Animal House, the Blues Brothers, Mr.
- 37:52Speaker 3: John Belushi. The story goes that Belushi wanted the part.
- 37:56Speaker 3: He was interested.
- 37:57Speaker 2: He was ready.
- 37:59Speaker 3: On the morning of March 5th, 1982, John Belushi was
- 38:02Speaker 3: found dead in a bungalow at the Chateau Marmot, the
- 38:06Speaker 3: old castle-shaped hotel on Sunset Boulevard. He was 33 years old.
- 38:14Speaker 3: and the script went back in the drawer. For a
- 38:17Speaker 3: few years, it sat there, waiting. Then, in the late 80s,
- 38:21Speaker 3: it found a new man, Sam Kinison. The screaming preacher-turned-comic,
- 38:28Speaker 3: the wildest act in stand-up, Kinison signed on to play
- 38:30Speaker 3: a took. And this time, it got further than anyone.
- 38:34Speaker 3: In 1988, the cameras actually started rolling. And then, just
- 38:39Speaker 3: as suddenly, they stopped. Kinison fought the studio over the script.
- 38:43Speaker 3: He wanted It rewritten, production shut down, and the whole
- 38:46Speaker 3: thing ended up in a courtroom. Kinison walked away, but
- 38:50Speaker 3: he didn't get far. On April 10, 1992, Sam Kinison
- 38:54Speaker 3: was driving out to a show in Laughlin, Nevada. He
- 38:58Speaker 3: had been married for six days, out on a two-lane
- 39:01Speaker 3: highway in the desert. A pickup truck swerved into his
- 39:03Speaker 3: lane and hit him head-on. He was 38, and the
- 39:07Speaker 3: script went back in a drawer. Two years later, it
- 39:11Speaker 3: came out again, this time into the hands of the
- 39:14Speaker 3: nicest man in Hollywood, Mr. John Candy. Uncle Buck, planes, trains, automobiles,
- 39:20Speaker 3: big laugh, bigger heart. Candy reportedly looked at the part
- 39:24Speaker 3: of a took. In March of 1994, Candy was in Durango, Mexico,
- 39:29Speaker 3: filming a Western one night. After a long day on set,
- 39:32Speaker 3: he went to sleep. He never woke up. Heart attack.
- 39:36Speaker 3: He was 43. And Candy wasn't the only one that year.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Michael O'Donohue, one of the original writers of Saturday Night Live,
- 39:44Speaker 3: had worked on a draft of the Itook screenplay. In
- 39:47Speaker 3: November of 1994, Donahue collapsed from a brain hemorrhage.
- 39:52Speaker 2: He was 44.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Excuse me, 54. Two men, one year, one script, and
- 40:00Speaker 3: it went back in the drawer. Now you would think
- 40:04Speaker 3: that would be enough. You would think by now someone
- 40:07Speaker 3: in Hollywood would have put a match to it. But
- 40:10Speaker 3: the script kept moving, desk to desk, agent to agent,
- 40:13Speaker 3: until it landed... in front of Chris Farley. Farley had
- 40:19Speaker 3: grown up idolizing John Belushi. He followed Belushi to Saturday
- 40:22Speaker 3: Night Live. He played the same big, wild, all-out comedy.
- 40:27Speaker 3: And according to the stories, Farley was interested in playing
- 40:29Speaker 3: a took. On December 18, 1997, Chris Farley was found
- 40:35Speaker 3: dead in his apartment in Chicago. He was 33 years old,
- 40:42Speaker 3: the exact same age as John Belushi. Five months later,
- 40:46Speaker 3: it reached one more man. Phil Hartman, SNL Newsradio, the
- 40:54Speaker 3: voice of half the town of Springfield. Hartman was reportedly
- 40:57Speaker 3: approached about the part on May 28th, 1998. Phil Hartman
- 41:01Speaker 3: was shot and killed in his own home in Encino,
- 41:05Speaker 3: California by his wife. He was 49. John Belushi, Sam Kinison,
- 41:12Speaker 3: John Candy, Michael Adani, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, six men,
- 41:16Speaker 3: 16 years, one movie that has never been made. Now,
- 41:21Speaker 3: you can call it a coincidence. Hollywood is a hard town.
- 41:24Speaker 3: And these were men who lived hard, fast lives. Maybe
- 41:28Speaker 3: that's all it is. But to this day, Atuk has
- 41:31Speaker 3: never been filmed. The script is still out there, somewhere
- 41:35Speaker 3: in a desk drawer in Los Angeles, in a filing cabinet,
- 41:39Speaker 3: In a box in somebody's garage. And the people in
- 41:43Speaker 3: that town who know the story, they won't touch it. So,
- 41:47Speaker 3: if your phone ever rings and somebody on the other
- 41:51Speaker 3: end says, hey, I've got a part for you. It's
- 41:54Speaker 3: a comedy about an Inuit poet in the big city.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Do yourself a favor. Hang up the phone and whatever
- 42:02Speaker 3: you do, do not read the script.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Mwahaha. All right. That's pretty wild. Pretty wild. Telling me.
- 42:23Speaker 2: So do you have an update on the script?
- 42:26Speaker 7: I'm so tempted to read the script.
- 42:28Speaker 2: It has not.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Been taken out since Phil Hartman.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I just told you. It's in a desk drawer somewhere.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Out there. Jonah Hill's lost too much weight. He wouldn't
- 42:42Speaker 2: fit the part anymore, you know? Mm-hmm.
- 42:45Speaker 3: All right.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I think they should probably not make that movie. I'm spooked.
- 42:53Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 42:53Speaker 7: Yeah, maybe don't offer it to anybody else. That is spooky.
- 42:56Speaker 2: All right. Also, well done. Yeah, well done. That was good.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Well done.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Dame Bergeron in the chat, send that script to my ex-wife.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Oh, we're getting a call for laughing at that one.
- 43:12Speaker 2: All right, more OTB when we come back.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I heard them laughing at that.
- 43:19Speaker 7: I heard them.
