- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:03Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:10Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered used to mean comments though who gives you meme?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Com Oh you'll get random Twitter people, you can't go,
- 0:20Speaker 1: won't buy what you see Twitter. Eldred is in North Carolina,
- 0:23Speaker 1: and I'm gonna start calling you nasty Eldred because you're
- 0:26Speaker 1: nasty on Twitter. Prompt to say that I grew up
- 0:28Speaker 1: listening to you guys. I remember scheduling my high school
- 0:31Speaker 1: computer lab class at noon to make sure I could
- 0:34Speaker 1: listen to the show in school. I also have a
- 0:36Speaker 1: vivid memory of listening to Patriots Unfiltered on the family
- 0:39Speaker 1: computer when I was young. It was a time where
- 0:41Speaker 1: Andy made a comment about Ka d Upton's boobs and
- 0:44Speaker 1: my mom yelled, what are you listening to? Across the house.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I just love the part where at the end when
- 0:49Speaker 1: he goes into the flower shop and just yes, yeah,
- 0:54Speaker 1: you're an old man. We don't have to pay second
- 0:56Speaker 1: year jump for the free Agents, eighth year jump for Nelson.
- 1:00Speaker 1: What do you think of this invention, Alex, It's a
- 1:03Speaker 1: soap with a slot is it going to dissolve the
- 1:07Speaker 1: small No, it doesn't listen to me. No, you're both drawn.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So I'm giving you away to get rid of that
- 1:17Speaker 1: wafer and then you really waste nothing. So where do
- 1:20Speaker 1: you put it? This is Patriots Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan.
- 1:26Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:30Speaker 1: at Gilette Stadium, and we got a full crew here.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We got Deuce, we got Tomorrow straight from the Revolution sidelines.
- 1:37Speaker 1: We got Alex, we got Paul, we got Matt and
- 1:40Speaker 1: the booth. It's gonna be a lively show. I hope,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I hope. So yeah, a lot of turning the champions.
- 1:46Speaker 1: By the way, By the way, you people, Soap with
- 1:50Speaker 1: a slot, we have an email. It exists, and not
- 1:55Speaker 1: only that, the person bought some he's gonna sending it
- 1:57Speaker 1: to me, so we're gonna have it so with so
- 2:00Speaker 1: someone stole your idea, then it's uh, it's already been done.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Well I don't care. I mean, it's not like I
- 2:05Speaker 1: was ever going to do anything with it. Um, but
- 2:08Speaker 1: he's got pictures and everything. So we'll get to that
- 2:11Speaker 1: email a little later. But Soap with a Slot not
- 2:15Speaker 1: exactly my design. But the concept exists and you can
- 2:18Speaker 1: actually buy it. Oh maybe you can improve upon it.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It doesn't quite live up to your vision. This somehow
- 2:24Speaker 1: was a point in his favor that it actually exists
- 2:27Speaker 1: and no one has it. No one knew what existed,
- 2:29Speaker 1: and he thinks that's a point in his favor. It
- 2:30Speaker 1: just doesn't come viral. It's out there and no one
- 2:32Speaker 1: wants it. Basically made it. Uh, we'll get to it later,
- 2:38Speaker 1: but you know, we want to talk about Patriots first. Yeah. Um,
- 2:42Speaker 1: and what do we have to talk about it? I
- 2:44Speaker 1: mean it is quiet, I think, quickly coming on the
- 2:48Speaker 1: Unfortunately the Celtics didn't get the job done out in
- 2:52Speaker 1: six so that we don't not gonna talk Celtics. Yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I mean Celtics. The height of the Patriots news is
- 2:59Speaker 1: probably that we just passed Bailey, Zappy and Taekwon Thornton
- 3:03Speaker 1: walking in the hall. That's as close as we've gotten.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Good to see some other guy that we we did
- 3:09Speaker 1: not Maybe that was a little Jordan. There was one
- 3:12Speaker 1: other guy with them that we didn't recognize. That was
- 3:14Speaker 1: a big dude. I think it was a little Jordan.
- 3:17Speaker 1: My wife goes that his God is that his god
- 3:19Speaker 1: given name? Little Jordan? I go, I believe. So She's like,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you're right, m m m yeah, it was right? Yeah, nice?
- 3:24Speaker 1: All right, So there you go a little bit of
- 3:26Speaker 1: a little bit of glimpse. But I just asked him
- 3:28Speaker 1: to marrow who everybody is, because she at least gets
- 3:30Speaker 1: to interview them when I come in and has an idea. Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: I don't have any like, yeah, it's it's time. What's
- 3:38Speaker 1: the way it is? Every year? She me out back
- 3:40Speaker 1: in the barn. I mean for me, guys coming and going.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You have no problem with Thornton. You saw him and
- 3:44Speaker 1: you threw the sandwich out. I'm want to like eat something. God,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I didn't know who thought somebody knows zappy? Yeah, but
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know he's a quarterback that's guys might pay attention to.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So all right, so uh anything else? I mean, you know,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I don't know if we want to talk about Tom Brady,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but he seems to be everywhere now with the underwear,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and with underwear that's a great place to start. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: like underwear. Yeah, and he's got I guess he's got
- 4:12Speaker 1: all these videos out promoting his new you know, Brady
- 4:15Speaker 1: line of clothing and what else has he got coming now?
- 4:18Speaker 1: I saw somep that we was running around New York. Yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I don't like it. Like the shorts, it's like those
- 4:27Speaker 1: like really skinny Bermuda shorts. I think those are like like,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think they make men look if feminine. Oh short,
- 4:36Speaker 1: short short, which I think they're not short shorts. No,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I think it's just the trend. They're like type fitting
- 4:42Speaker 1: shorts that go right right down to the knee. Oh,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I know, it's the trend. I don't like it. You guys,
- 4:47Speaker 1: that's another you can say, Okay, Boomer, that's fine. I
- 4:52Speaker 1: would tend to agree with you. I don't think even
- 4:54Speaker 1: people that are in tremendous shape those like the skinny
- 4:56Speaker 1: suits right, like, I don't think it's a flattering look
- 5:00Speaker 1: like for women, I think it's like the mom jeans
- 5:04Speaker 1: coming back. Yeah, the wide leg Yeah, like the bootleg jeans,
- 5:07Speaker 1: Like I would have never worn those before, but now
- 5:10Speaker 1: they're back. What's more comfortable for the female? Like for females,
- 5:14Speaker 1: is it is that high waisted kind of old thing
- 5:17Speaker 1: more comfortable than like the rise. It seems back into
- 5:20Speaker 1: style for men's going to be washed. I mean low
- 5:23Speaker 1: rise is ridiculous. I mean it really is. Oh yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, but it's I mean, at least for a
- 5:28Speaker 1: woman who's got hips, you can kind of put them
- 5:30Speaker 1: on the hips, so like, you know, I don't know,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I just look at the Mom jeans. I'm like, they
- 5:34Speaker 1: look really comfortable. There's you know, up around like you know, ribbed.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It doesn't even matter. Yeah, no, send the waist. It's great.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I definitely love the jeans that are coming back in
- 5:46Speaker 1: style now for the women versus like skinny jeans, like
- 5:50Speaker 1: like super skinny and skinny. That was like the thing,
- 5:52Speaker 1: Like I had tons of them from Hollister. But now
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm like the Mom jeans, the high waist of jeans,
- 5:57Speaker 1: there's so much, right. I think you just hold on
- 5:58Speaker 1: to all your jeans because it's all sick cool and
- 6:00Speaker 1: it's all going to come back down. It depends on
- 6:02Speaker 1: like the bottoms of the pol you know, I got
- 6:04Speaker 1: my Levi's, I got my five twelve, all five, and
- 6:08Speaker 1: we're on Mom jeans twelve. There was even dad jeans.
- 6:13Speaker 1: They're dad jeans, boyfriend jeans. I got someone right now. Actually,
- 6:16Speaker 1: oh yeah, I would. I have to ask what's the
- 6:20Speaker 1: difference between dad jeans and boyfriend jeans. That's actually a
- 6:23Speaker 1: fair point. I think they're both pretty like on the
- 6:25Speaker 1: baggy side. I guess like they're well even more loosely
- 6:29Speaker 1: fitted than are they tighter on the boyfriend. But when
- 6:31Speaker 1: the girlfriend wears them than their bagg is that just
- 6:35Speaker 1: what makes them boyfriend jeans. I think that's where they
- 6:37Speaker 1: get the name, because you have like the boyfriend T
- 6:39Speaker 1: shirt too. It's right the size, it's stuff that is
- 6:43Speaker 1: the boyfriends that the girlfriend wears. Know, it's all made
- 6:46Speaker 1: for women and not really ever cut for a man's body.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Why can't they just wear the boyfriend's stuff? Why do
- 6:53Speaker 1: they have to have special stuff? That's cool because for
- 6:55Speaker 1: the single people like us, we have boyfriend stuff. But
- 7:00Speaker 1: I think that's sad that you know, just wear your
- 7:02Speaker 1: own things then, you know, and wait till you get
- 7:04Speaker 1: a boyfriend, and then where is stuff? What if we
- 7:06Speaker 1: don't ever get one friend but just buy some guys scenes.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I don't know, you're doing great. Oh my god. I
- 7:17Speaker 1: find like the bottoms too, are got him stylistic? Like
- 7:20Speaker 1: do you peg hum? Do you have like the bell bottom?
- 7:24Speaker 1: Do you have like the tight right down to the ankle?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Like that's also part of the gene. I was big
- 7:28Speaker 1: on the pegging with the champion sweatshirt. Write a little
- 7:37Speaker 1: color me bad on the radio. You're you're feeling good,
- 7:39Speaker 1: You're you're you're your bow, mariee front sat your bow.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I was all there for that. I was there for that. Well, Um,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I guess a little Patriots news. I found out today
- 7:50Speaker 1: that autograssibly back at training camp. I did get confirmation. Hey, yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: all right. I was like, did you find that out? Now?
- 7:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I was on the meeting we followed
- 8:02Speaker 1: up after. Okay, yeah, So COVID protocols are no longer,
- 8:06Speaker 1: so how they are facilitated, I think is still to
- 8:10Speaker 1: be determined. But we'll be back to having autographs and
- 8:14Speaker 1: training camp. Well, it's a good call to action time
- 8:15Speaker 1: that that's such a great time for fans. If you're
- 8:18Speaker 1: thinking of coming up here at some point, come to preseason,
- 8:21Speaker 1: come to training camp practices. It's free access is awesome.
- 8:25Speaker 1: If the autographs are back, you'll be able to get
- 8:28Speaker 1: as close to the players as as possible during the year. Um,
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's just I mean, I'm still remembering twenty twenty when
- 8:35Speaker 1: that was just no fans, nothing but now it's it's
- 8:39Speaker 1: back and last year was a good step in the
- 8:40Speaker 1: right direction, but this will be fully I guess back
- 8:43Speaker 1: and as as it was before. So if you're thinking
- 8:45Speaker 1: of coming out, come come especially I think the second
- 8:47Speaker 1: week Carolina Panthers somewhere in there they'll be joint practices
- 8:50Speaker 1: for a couple of days. So that's that's the thing
- 8:52Speaker 1: to hit. If you're thinking of coming here for a
- 8:54Speaker 1: couple of days, check it out. Yeah, like I said,
- 8:57Speaker 1: parking is free. There's no ticket to get in. Stuff
- 9:00Speaker 1: for the kids, activities, throwing, you know, a little obstacle, courses,
- 9:04Speaker 1: arts and crafts. Yeah, there's food, refreshments. Yeah. Yeah, if
- 9:09Speaker 1: you pick the right day, you might get a cake.
- 9:10Speaker 1: We don't get that. That was one nice thing from
- 9:12Speaker 1: Brady's birthday. It always happened like that. Yeah, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: first few days of camp and and you know I
- 9:16Speaker 1: would always go because there was cake. Have some late birthdays, No,
- 9:21Speaker 1: we gotta find it. Smack Jones's birthday. Let's google Google
- 9:26Speaker 1: google it when he's September fifth. O. Hey, that's a
- 9:31Speaker 1: little too late, too late for us, but maybe we
- 9:33Speaker 1: could strike. You don't want to start training camp, the
- 9:36Speaker 1: fine and Happy Birthday to Brady every year now and
- 9:38Speaker 1: that was you weren't singing that one any the brave
- 9:41Speaker 1: like every year like it seemed like we had a
- 9:44Speaker 1: top the previous year and do something like Remy the
- 9:46Speaker 1: year they had the goat farm. Frick. Yes, I do,
- 9:49Speaker 1: like if we had to do something different, it was annoying,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but that was great. The kids loved it. There was
- 9:56Speaker 1: a little baby goats, you know, farm animals. Kids love it.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I love it. Yeah, petting zoos? Are you kidding me?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Who doesn't love a petting zuo? Yeah? I get pink eye.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Washing hands sounds like that that happened
- 10:10Speaker 1: to you as a kid. No. I think I've just
- 10:13Speaker 1: been like living with kids for so long and I'm like, no,
- 10:15Speaker 1: everything you're supposed to be paranoid about when you take
- 10:17Speaker 1: your kids to like farm animal places or you know,
- 10:20Speaker 1: getting hands chomped by goats or anything like that, Like
- 10:23Speaker 1: you know, it's scared. I hate sheep, though you hate sheep.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I hate sheep. Just I don't like sheep. Why, I
- 10:30Speaker 1: think for your own just don't think them grossed me out? Everyone?
- 10:33Speaker 1: I don't know, sheep just really grossed me out. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: got this weird kind of thing with sheep, Like I go, like,
- 10:38Speaker 1: like that an alpaca face there. Yeah, there was a
- 10:43Speaker 1: time we were thinking of getting alpacas at the farm
- 10:47Speaker 1: he was in. He was in, but thankfully we didn't
- 10:50Speaker 1: do it. I've been like googling people's birthdays over here.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Taekwon Thornton's birthdays August seventh. Oh okay, that's a little
- 10:57Speaker 1: closer to be able to get a cake. He needs cake.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I think we could give him cake. I mean, we
- 11:01Speaker 1: started celebrating a rookie's uh, Bill's head would explode. Yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I should be all right, because by the time he
- 11:08Speaker 1: gets to the status of needing birthday recognition that camp,
- 11:12Speaker 1: they should definitely have taken me out back to shoot
- 11:15Speaker 1: me and put me down. Can't be that much at
- 11:18Speaker 1: least five years before, right, he could be in that
- 11:20Speaker 1: kind of Absolutely, you gotta at least be a captain
- 11:24Speaker 1: of the team. Like, it's not like we did it
- 11:26Speaker 1: for Brady and like, oh four, right, that was to
- 11:29Speaker 1: work your way up to it. He had already won
- 11:31Speaker 1: three titles and they still weren't doing that stuff for right.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I almost said something other than stuff I can I'm
- 11:37Speaker 1: imagining the initial like creative call about that a stone?
- 11:39Speaker 1: But you know Tom's birthday is the beginning August. What
- 11:41Speaker 1: do you guys think we maybe uh we maybe do
- 11:44Speaker 1: something for I just googled three of our running backs
- 11:47Speaker 1: birthdays and they're all in February. There you go, and
- 11:51Speaker 1: that weird she's gone. She's gonna give us the full
- 11:57Speaker 1: uh rundown on the star of these players so important,
- 12:02Speaker 1: Like I just all the zodiac signs? Yeah wait, wait,
- 12:05Speaker 1: what's your zodiac? I'm a Libra. At least you were
- 12:10Speaker 1: not a Gemini that we have problems? Can you have stuff?
- 12:13Speaker 1: Like you already made fun of me about that on
- 12:15Speaker 1: a different show. I'm a Gemini sorry personality. Yeah wait,
- 12:23Speaker 1: so since you're a Gemini person, we should have had
- 12:25Speaker 1: cake on the show. Uh yeah, it's Gemini right now.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Do you know what's something I like ago? What I
- 12:32Speaker 1: like about this show? Birthdays? You don't really make a
- 12:34Speaker 1: big deal like it's you find out almost retroactively, like
- 12:38Speaker 1: like Paul Will saying passing, you know, I'm going golf
- 12:40Speaker 1: in the sek. You know it's my birthday, Like, but
- 12:42Speaker 1: it's there's never a big deal made about like it
- 12:44Speaker 1: could be a birthday during a show and we might
- 12:46Speaker 1: not even well we had because I hate birthday. Yeah,
- 12:52Speaker 1: two relevant birthday sixteen and twenty one. That's also the
- 12:55Speaker 1: only two that counted. Everything else is greedy. We had
- 12:58Speaker 1: a woman that worked with us when he still did
- 13:00Speaker 1: the paper More O'Brien. She was one of the graphic
- 13:03Speaker 1: designers that work with Michelle. She had like I can't
- 13:07Speaker 1: even describe it, Like to call it like a birthday
- 13:09Speaker 1: month isn't really doing it justice. It was more like
- 13:11Speaker 1: a birthday halfy. She celebrated her a half your birthday,
- 13:14Speaker 1: you remember, like six months ahead of time. She would
- 13:16Speaker 1: tell you, like it was amazing how much attention she
- 13:20Speaker 1: paid to her own birthday. Was this a certain point,
- 13:23Speaker 1: don't make a big deal of it, Like, don't even
- 13:24Speaker 1: bring it up. I don't. Yeah, Kendrick Bourne August fourth,
- 13:29Speaker 1: there you go, Okay, that's close. Don't think really, there's
- 13:33Speaker 1: no one. There's no one that rises to the level
- 13:35Speaker 1: of like if Bill's birthday was in August, we do
- 13:39Speaker 1: something for that. Whose bills? Oh yeah today April right? Correct,
- 13:44Speaker 1: Thank thanks for the birthday. Great, wait for every for
- 13:48Speaker 1: every birthday. And you know, Olypia is a little longer,
- 13:51Speaker 1: and then the Happy Birthday, Bill, Happy birthday, Bill, Thanks
- 13:55Speaker 1: for doing this on your birthday. Bill. I had a question,
- 13:57Speaker 1: but you know, first, happy birthday. I'm curious, Bill, when
- 14:00Speaker 1: was the last time you celebrated your birthday? What's what's
- 14:03Speaker 1: your favorite type of cake? What's your favorite present that
- 14:07Speaker 1: you ever got? Bill? Any birthday wishes this year? Bill?
- 14:11Speaker 1: Oh my god? Uh So it really is that slow
- 14:15Speaker 1: right now? Huh. It's in terms of it is a
- 14:18Speaker 1: little slow. Um, but yeah, there's there is Like what
- 14:22Speaker 1: else is going on, like around the league? Have you
- 14:25Speaker 1: really heard any league even league related news? Not really.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Everyone just in vacation mode. Yeah, yeah, ducks in a
- 14:34Speaker 1: row for training camp. But it's such a nice little
- 14:37Speaker 1: break when you actually get mini camp because then we
- 14:39Speaker 1: get stuff to talk about for a little bit and
- 14:40Speaker 1: it gives you a little bit of a boost. But
- 14:42Speaker 1: you know, at this point, it feels like you've been
- 14:44Speaker 1: kind of talking about everything, and you know, now a
- 14:47Speaker 1: couple of weeks after mini camp, we discussed every little
- 14:50Speaker 1: little developments that we found in there, and now you know,
- 14:53Speaker 1: now you're just like, all right, let's get to camp,
- 14:55Speaker 1: let's see some pads, get on, let's see what these
- 14:57Speaker 1: rookies actually look like, you know, and some of the
- 15:00Speaker 1: you know, the new guys, the new faces. How does
- 15:02Speaker 1: it all play out with? Uh, you know the offensive
- 15:05Speaker 1: line that that flip flop and I've seen some some
- 15:07Speaker 1: discussion of that of you know, maybe balancing things out.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Does that mean the size? That's a good way to
- 15:12Speaker 1: bring up, because you know, I mean, you know me,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm stupid, I don't I don't get these things. Does
- 15:16Speaker 1: that make any sense to you? Like, if you thought
- 15:19Speaker 1: that Win was a better option on the left side
- 15:21Speaker 1: and Brown on the right side, you would flip flop
- 15:24Speaker 1: them so there would be more and even really balanced
- 15:26Speaker 1: in terms of the weight of the guys on the
- 15:28Speaker 1: on the line. Does that make any sense to anybody? No?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Because I mean it's always for me been just the players.
- 15:33Speaker 1: What do you got like? And so you have no
- 15:35Speaker 1: real like inkling that Isaiah Winn can play right tackle.
- 15:39Speaker 1: So it sounds great if you're just talking about the
- 15:41Speaker 1: size and the athleticism and balancing it. But what if
- 15:44Speaker 1: Isaiah and if I like and I can totally understand
- 15:48Speaker 1: that in twenty eighteen, Trent Brown was here and played
- 15:51Speaker 1: left tackle and certainly down the stretch of that season
- 15:55Speaker 1: was the best that you've seen of Trent Brown as
- 15:57Speaker 1: an NFL player. Why not say, you know what, what's
- 16:02Speaker 1: put him back on the left side. Win's been inconsistent
- 16:05Speaker 1: and not reliable. Let's put him back on the left
- 16:09Speaker 1: side and move Win over to the right side. Like
- 16:11Speaker 1: that makes perfect sense to me, unless Win just can't
- 16:14Speaker 1: play that right right right, and in which case you
- 16:16Speaker 1: would say no, because one guy can do both and
- 16:18Speaker 1: the other guy can't. So we got to leave it
- 16:20Speaker 1: the way it is, right, But it doesn't make a
- 16:22Speaker 1: lot of sense to me to say, well, you have
- 16:24Speaker 1: a win, you Win Brown on the left side or
- 16:27Speaker 1: whoever on the on one side, and those are the
- 16:29Speaker 1: two everier guys, or you don't want to you want
- 16:32Speaker 1: to spread it out a little bit, Like that doesn't
- 16:34Speaker 1: make any sense to me at all. You have the
- 16:37Speaker 1: bigger tackle with the lighter guard on both sides. Yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I don't get that, right, Yeah, beside the fact that
- 16:44Speaker 1: you're dealing with three hundred plus pound guys, Like, is
- 16:46Speaker 1: it really that big of a difference. Yeah, And I
- 16:48Speaker 1: mean in theory it makes sense of the freight, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: in execution, can they actually do it? Is Isaiah Win.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Is he that firm right tackle or is this kind
- 16:56Speaker 1: of like, hey, we're moving you over there. We haven't
- 16:59Speaker 1: really been reliable. You kind of have to fight it
- 17:01Speaker 1: out and win this job now. I mean, I wonder
- 17:03Speaker 1: how much it's actually being gifted to Isaiah Win or
- 17:06Speaker 1: if he's going to have some serious, you know, competition
- 17:08Speaker 1: from Haran maybe um. But I also wonder how the
- 17:12Speaker 1: offense is us with I think swapping Mason for on
- 17:15Speaker 1: When You is kind of an interesting change at right
- 17:18Speaker 1: guard and just you know, all the stuff that they
- 17:19Speaker 1: like to do with Mason and how mobile he was,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and you know, I like on when You, but I
- 17:23Speaker 1: don't think he's that He's that athletics as as Mason was.
- 17:26Speaker 1: So I think things are you know, are going to
- 17:29Speaker 1: change a little bit. But it all sounds great like
- 17:31Speaker 1: on paper. I just I guess we have to see
- 17:33Speaker 1: how how it actually Remember the Patriots are completely revamping
- 17:36Speaker 1: their offense. There was a little tone in that frame.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean, I just don't understand where some
- 17:45Speaker 1: of the writers get that. You know, well, I mean
- 17:48Speaker 1: Kendrick bo I think that talked about it last week,
- 17:54Speaker 1: said how did you put changing terminology learning new words, Yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 1: new words for the plays. I forget. I was right
- 18:02Speaker 1: next to him. It was a really harless comment. That's yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 1: To me, that's well out of look at us right here,
- 18:07Speaker 1: struggling for things to talk about. No, I know, but
- 18:09Speaker 1: to me, like changing revamping the offenses, like going from
- 18:13Speaker 1: West Coast to you know, a pocket passer, you know
- 18:16Speaker 1: or whatever. You know, what they're going to do this
- 18:19Speaker 1: year isn't revamping the offer. Oh. I agree with that,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and I agree the way Alex said, Yeah, there's already
- 18:24Speaker 1: all that doom speak of like, oh my god, who's
- 18:26Speaker 1: going to call the plays? Oh my god, oh my god.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So one little hint that fits that narrative, Ran, I think.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I think what he meant is kind of what we
- 18:35Speaker 1: were talking about on a previous show of how there's
- 18:37Speaker 1: different ways of teaching calculus, like instead of teaching it,
- 18:41Speaker 1: you know, Fred's way, we're not going to teach it
- 18:43Speaker 1: Paul's way. And so I think that they obviously took
- 18:47Speaker 1: what he said and ran with it. But I think
- 18:49Speaker 1: it's just right changing the terminology a little bit, Amon's terms, yeah,
- 18:53Speaker 1: instead of ap physics. Yeah, And we talked about this
- 18:56Speaker 1: and this is not fact, this is opinion. I think
- 18:59Speaker 1: it's about the coaches. I think they want to go
- 19:03Speaker 1: to a one or one level so Joe Judge and
- 19:05Speaker 1: Matt Patricia can learn the offense. So it's being dumbed
- 19:09Speaker 1: down for the coaches. Yes, not dumbed down, just sort
- 19:13Speaker 1: of streamlined, I think is the way that they put it.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And like Tamara and Alex said, like the terminology might
- 19:19Speaker 1: be changing a little bit also, like I think it's
- 19:22Speaker 1: a good time for like a reset. I mean when
- 19:25Speaker 1: look at like this company right, like there's been some turnover,
- 19:29Speaker 1: just like with every company, and that's a good time
- 19:31Speaker 1: to look at things, streamline them better, think of ways
- 19:34Speaker 1: you could be doing them better. Um well, I mean
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm saying here for a long time, right, And I
- 19:39Speaker 1: mean should this have happened earlier? I mean, and I
- 19:41Speaker 1: don't know to what degree they're doing it now and
- 19:43Speaker 1: what degree they kind of already did it when Cam
- 19:45Speaker 1: Newton was coming in. How much is this right now?
- 19:50Speaker 1: It was like the day he left and then they're like, hey,
- 19:51Speaker 1: let's change everything now. But I mean, I just I
- 19:54Speaker 1: think it's common sense really that you had Tom Brady
- 19:57Speaker 1: and Josh McDaniels who I'm sure could communicate on a
- 20:00Speaker 1: completely different level. Um, you know, just is this I
- 20:05Speaker 1: guess the question is, you know, how much do you
- 20:07Speaker 1: have to change it after Josh McDaniels too, you know,
- 20:10Speaker 1: do you know? And I think, you know, I think
- 20:13Speaker 1: there's something to be said for what what Paul is saying,
- 20:15Speaker 1: even if it, you know, isn't quite as like, well,
- 20:17Speaker 1: they're idiots and we got to give them the age.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I didn't mean it like that, but I think Bill
- 20:21Speaker 1: O'Brien don't was the offensive coording. I don't think you'd
- 20:24Speaker 1: be hearing any terminology talk changes. I think it's because
- 20:28Speaker 1: there's guys that haven't done it. They haven't been immersed
- 20:30Speaker 1: in the offense. Yeah, and how much and how much
- 20:34Speaker 1: did Joe Judge take some influence from what he did
- 20:36Speaker 1: with Daniel Jones? You know, are those elements you know,
- 20:39Speaker 1: same with Matt Patricia being in Detroit. What kind of
- 20:41Speaker 1: input are they having? You know, is it making it
- 20:44Speaker 1: simplified for them or are they you know, bringing input
- 20:47Speaker 1: And it's not just we're simplifying, We're just we're kind
- 20:49Speaker 1: of going in a different direction and some I think
- 20:51Speaker 1: that's where people are, you know, kind of trying to
- 20:53Speaker 1: figure out. But it's it's it's gonna be tough after
- 20:56Speaker 1: a series. When Matt Jones goes and sits down on
- 20:58Speaker 1: the bench, who goes and sits next to him, Patricia
- 21:02Speaker 1: or Judge. He's a good question. I mean, are they
- 21:05Speaker 1: both on the sideline? I don't know. Maybe you know
- 21:08Speaker 1: it's going to be interesting too. Yeah, yeah, that's going
- 21:10Speaker 1: to be interesting to me if they all do it
- 21:12Speaker 1: the same way that it's been done, or if someone's
- 21:14Speaker 1: up in the booth. I wouldn't rule like Patricia being
- 21:16Speaker 1: up in the booth calling plays. I mean some teams
- 21:19Speaker 1: do that, right, you know, right, and then judges down
- 21:22Speaker 1: on the field, you know, I don't know. And Mattie
- 21:26Speaker 1: p was up in the booth, I mean, not calling
- 21:28Speaker 1: plays last year, but he was. He was sort of
- 21:30Speaker 1: like the Ernie Adams last year up there supposedly, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 1: no one's like Ernie. I think you'll see that was
- 21:37Speaker 1: one of the questions in the mail bag this week.
- 21:39Speaker 1: And I think you're going to see him talking to
- 21:40Speaker 1: a lot of different people and those two guys. If
- 21:43Speaker 1: you're asking me who I think is going to be
- 21:45Speaker 1: the guy, it's going to be. I think it will
- 21:47Speaker 1: be Patricia, but I don't know, and I think he'll
- 21:50Speaker 1: be talking to Joe Judge plenty. Yeah, I just don't
- 21:52Speaker 1: think Joe Judge has anywhere else to be Like Patricia.
- 21:55Speaker 1: You can make the argument that you could take that
- 21:57Speaker 1: of some shine, but what else is the quarterback coach
- 22:02Speaker 1: everywhere else? You know, what you can say is with
- 22:04Speaker 1: the offensive says listen to to Stephen Belichick in grod Mayo.
- 22:11Speaker 1: You guys have been around long enough. I am handing
- 22:14Speaker 1: over the defense to you because this year I'm focusing
- 22:17Speaker 1: on the offense. I mean, I think that that would
- 22:19Speaker 1: be huge in the sense that they don't they're kind
- 22:23Speaker 1: of on their own this year. I mean I a
- 22:25Speaker 1: little bit of that happened in twenty twenty when so
- 22:27Speaker 1: many people opted out and left and you didn't really
- 22:29Speaker 1: have any of those veteran linebackers, and you know, we
- 22:31Speaker 1: saw how bad that defense was. Not to say it
- 22:34Speaker 1: was all on them, but I think that's asking a
- 22:36Speaker 1: lot of those guys to have to come in and
- 22:39Speaker 1: you know, young group of guys, I mean it's you
- 22:41Speaker 1: got to get the best out of Jude On. You
- 22:42Speaker 1: got to get some way that uj and Perkins are
- 22:44Speaker 1: going to start to elevate, you know, get ray Kua
- 22:46Speaker 1: McMillan on the same page as everybody else. So you
- 22:49Speaker 1: think it's unlikely because of all these new young guys
- 22:52Speaker 1: or not they're not necessarily new, but young guys that
- 22:56Speaker 1: need to play this year. I mean, I just think
- 22:57Speaker 1: Bill needs to continue to have and I think that's
- 23:00Speaker 1: why the stretch too thin thing could be, you know,
- 23:02Speaker 1: without an Ernie Adams type during the games, if he
- 23:05Speaker 1: doesn't really have somebody to reflect, you know, he feels
- 23:07Speaker 1: like he needs to oversee the offense clearly a little
- 23:10Speaker 1: bit more right now. You know, I just think he
- 23:12Speaker 1: puts all the pressure on Mayo and Steve, and I
- 23:14Speaker 1: think that you know, already there's a lot of pressure
- 23:16Speaker 1: on those two guys to you know, just right the
- 23:18Speaker 1: ship from the last few seasons of how things have
- 23:20Speaker 1: gone defensively, where they start out and they whipped the
- 23:24Speaker 1: bad teams and you know, they force rookie quarterbacks and
- 23:27Speaker 1: and underman teams into turnovers and they look great. But
- 23:31Speaker 1: when it's a straight up fight against an evenly matched
- 23:34Speaker 1: team with good talent in a game that you got
- 23:35Speaker 1: to have um in the most critical part of that,
- 23:39Speaker 1: they didn't answer the bell. So you know what makes
- 23:41Speaker 1: you think that they can get this new look defense
- 23:43Speaker 1: with new pieces at corner, new pieces at linebacker, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: get them to finish strong. The other side of that
- 23:49Speaker 1: argument is, like I've been saying, Bill says, I've got
- 23:53Speaker 1: two former head coaches. Maybe they didn't do well as
- 23:57Speaker 1: head coaches, but having gone through that experience, they have
- 24:00Speaker 1: a perspective that you know, helps them and I don't
- 24:05Speaker 1: you know, I can trust them with the offense. You know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: maybe that's and and maybe he'll stay like he has
- 24:11Speaker 1: focused on the defense. And I think maybe in that
- 24:13Speaker 1: regard Fred, it's it's a it's a fair point in
- 24:16Speaker 1: that you could have. I mean, who's gonna be talking
- 24:18Speaker 1: to Mac? I mean maybe it's both guys. I don't
- 24:20Speaker 1: know if they're both on the sidelines right next to
- 24:21Speaker 1: him and it, but it's probably maybe maybe Maddie P's
- 24:24Speaker 1: up in the up in the booth call in the plays,
- 24:26Speaker 1: and Joe Judge is the you know, guy on the
- 24:28Speaker 1: sideline with him between each series talking him through everything.
- 24:31Speaker 1: And you know that way, Mapatricia still has a chance
- 24:33Speaker 1: to give Bill some import maybe if he wants that
- 24:36Speaker 1: kind of role. But I would just be surprised to
- 24:39Speaker 1: see Mampatricia all of a sudden just completely immersed in
- 24:41Speaker 1: the offense and you know, Bill not really having that
- 24:44Speaker 1: sounding board anymore, that he's really had his whole time here, right,
- 24:48Speaker 1: I mean, I think he likes that. I guess we'll
- 24:50Speaker 1: see somewhere somewhere. It is going to have to give,
- 24:52Speaker 1: whether it's the defense, whether it's the offense, whether it's
- 24:54Speaker 1: Bill's you know, consolierre. Yeah, I think that last thing
- 24:58Speaker 1: is going to have to give. Don't see Patricia doing
- 25:01Speaker 1: that if that's in fact hard last year. He's got
- 25:06Speaker 1: to have some responsibility. It's he's either going to be
- 25:09Speaker 1: responsible for the offensive line or the offense as a whole. Right,
- 25:12Speaker 1: he has to do something, Yeah, beyond be you know,
- 25:16Speaker 1: the soffensive line corps or just the out I think
- 25:19Speaker 1: you can make an argument that they're grooming Billy Yates
- 25:21Speaker 1: to be the offensive line coach and he's actually going
- 25:24Speaker 1: to be the guy that's that's doing that under Patricia
- 25:27Speaker 1: Patricia's watch, maybe, but he's got to do something. He's
- 25:32Speaker 1: got to do something beyond saying you know it's you know,
- 25:35Speaker 1: there's minute thirteen left, do we have two time outs here?
- 25:37Speaker 1: You know? Right, He's just so immersed in the overall
- 25:40Speaker 1: game and the structure and the little you know, nuance
- 25:43Speaker 1: of it. But and there are adjustments to be made
- 25:45Speaker 1: for like you know, Dante has talked about that, you know,
- 25:47Speaker 1: and I know Michael Lombardi had a long, convoluted quote
- 25:51Speaker 1: that you know, a few guys can take more credit
- 25:55Speaker 1: for things in football than Michael Lombardi. But I just
- 26:01Speaker 1: don't know if you can do all of that, if
- 26:05Speaker 1: he's going to be the guy up in the booth
- 26:07Speaker 1: telling Bill about third down and timeouts and clock management,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I don't know how you can do that the offensive line, right, Yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: And that's another thing too of just Paul, you know,
- 26:20Speaker 1: bringing up Scarneckia, Like some of the sound bites that
- 26:22Speaker 1: you hear sometimes of him on the sideline talking to
- 26:24Speaker 1: the offensive line. I find some of that stuff, you know, amazing,
- 26:27Speaker 1: and I think something that the common fan might not think, Like,
- 26:31Speaker 1: while the offensive line coach is going to have a
- 26:33Speaker 1: lot of coaching points and a lot of experience to
- 26:36Speaker 1: pass along. And you know, sometimes when you get the
- 26:39Speaker 1: video and the audio of Scarnekia talking the things that
- 26:41Speaker 1: he understands. Um, you know, and I'm sure all offensive
- 26:45Speaker 1: line coaches can contribute in some fashion, but you know,
- 26:47Speaker 1: it's just something else. Is Billy Yates ready to do that?
- 26:49Speaker 1: As Patricia ready to do that? And you know who's
- 26:52Speaker 1: going to But I just it is it is worth
- 26:55Speaker 1: wondering if, if the whole staff, how it's going to manage,
- 26:58Speaker 1: because it seems like they're light. Eight five five past
- 27:00Speaker 1: five hundred is the eight sticket hut line eight five
- 27:02Speaker 1: five past five hundred. The web radio at Patriots dot
- 27:06Speaker 1: com is the way to email the show. Uh phones,
- 27:10Speaker 1: phone callers are already coming in. Brad is on the
- 27:13Speaker 1: eastern Shore. He's actually in the San Diego Airport. He says,
- 27:16Speaker 1: what's up, Brad, San Francisco Airport. But good morning, guys.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I'm okay, I'm just reading what I somebody wrote. I
- 27:25Speaker 1: know that's okay. It's loud in here. Um, Matt, I
- 27:28Speaker 1: have a question for you. Have you ever been to
- 27:30Speaker 1: Fort Brick, California? No, okay, it's way up the coast.
- 27:37Speaker 1: It's like four hours north of San Francisco. Um left
- 27:41Speaker 1: Friday with my son and we just drove across country
- 27:44Speaker 1: to drop him off at Fort Brian to work at
- 27:46Speaker 1: a hospital for an internship and now I'm flying twenty
- 27:50Speaker 1: nine hundred miles back home one day. So that's two
- 27:57Speaker 1: What was that? Two cool story hunsoles in one show?
- 28:01Speaker 1: And we know how you spent your Father's day? Yes, exactly,
- 28:06Speaker 1: driving from Yenne, Wyoming, Torino, Nevada on Father's Day. Okay,
- 28:10Speaker 1: But I have a question and that Paula. We've discussed
- 28:14Speaker 1: this a couple times on the postgame shows. Could we
- 28:17Speaker 1: be quote unquote dumbing down the offense to basically just
- 28:22Speaker 1: say these are our best eleven guys? And you know,
- 28:27Speaker 1: it used to drive me nuts with McDaniel when we'd
- 28:30Speaker 1: shuffle four guys in and out every play and suddenly
- 28:33Speaker 1: it was like, well, who is our best guy to
- 28:36Speaker 1: put on the field for this play? And sometimes they
- 28:39Speaker 1: were standing on the sidelines and nobody could understand why.
- 28:42Speaker 1: And I'm wondering if that may be something Bill has
- 28:45Speaker 1: looked at that we need to win, we need to
- 28:48Speaker 1: win with our best, you know, eleven to fifteen guys,
- 28:51Speaker 1: and this is who we're gonna go with. Oh, well,
- 28:53Speaker 1: that's two different things. Like the eleven guys in the
- 28:56Speaker 1: fifteen guys fifteen guys is what they do. And I
- 28:58Speaker 1: don't see that changing, right, And you've got to react
- 29:01Speaker 1: to what the defense is showing you. You can't. You
- 29:03Speaker 1: can't put a you know, square peg in a round hole.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And Bill is all for that. And he's gonna use
- 29:09Speaker 1: three receivers, he's gonna use four receivers. There's gonna be
- 29:11Speaker 1: two tight ends. There's gonna be one back, there's gonna
- 29:13Speaker 1: be no backs. Like you're trying to get that mismatch right,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you're finding matchups that you think you win. Yeah. Yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 1: but but I have a play. If we have a
- 29:23Speaker 1: play that games a six yard what do we then
- 29:28Speaker 1: have to substitute four guys back into the game for
- 29:31Speaker 1: the next play when we obviously have them in a down,
- 29:35Speaker 1: in a down and distance, or in a set that
- 29:38Speaker 1: was successful, and suddenly we just go on a holder
- 29:41Speaker 1: because because defense, because maybe the defense substituted and they changed,
- 29:46Speaker 1: or maybe the defense was in a look that was
- 29:48Speaker 1: conducive to that play, right, and then they got out
- 29:51Speaker 1: of that look. Yeah, and there's a million reasons why,
- 29:53Speaker 1: you know, it's not I don't think they just substitute arbitrarily.
- 29:57Speaker 1: They mean, that's like, that's like saying it's third and
- 29:59Speaker 1: twenty two. You're in a draw for sixteen yards. Geez,
- 30:02Speaker 1: why didn't they run that drawer in first and ten? Yeah,
- 30:05Speaker 1: like you never know what the defense is in. What
- 30:08Speaker 1: I'm saying is why why do we have to give
- 30:13Speaker 1: a look that put less than our best players on
- 30:18Speaker 1: the field when our best players are only at this
- 30:21Speaker 1: point marginally better. I understood it with Brady. I understood
- 30:25Speaker 1: we could give them fifty different looks, but maybe that's
- 30:28Speaker 1: not the way we can win for the next couple
- 30:30Speaker 1: of years. Yeah, I just don't think that's the complicated
- 30:33Speaker 1: part of the offense. Is personnel. I don't think is
- 30:35Speaker 1: the complicated part of the I don't really think the
- 30:37Speaker 1: offense is overly complicated based on the way a lot
- 30:40Speaker 1: of the players have talked over the years. But I
- 30:42Speaker 1: don't think using different personnel packages creates confusion. It's the
- 30:48Speaker 1: option routes in the decisions that need to be make
- 30:50Speaker 1: by made by the players and the skill the skill
- 30:53Speaker 1: guys on the field that can cause problems when it
- 30:56Speaker 1: is problems. But when when guys like Christian Fourier tell
- 30:59Speaker 1: me how easy offenses, I'm sorry, I don't I don't
- 31:01Speaker 1: think it's all that hard. Yeah, it bothers me a
- 31:03Speaker 1: lot more on defense. I'd much rather have eleven guys
- 31:07Speaker 1: on defense that you can just kind of roll with
- 31:09Speaker 1: and let the offense go. But it's just what they've done.
- 31:13Speaker 1: I mean, but I do think to Brad's point, you've
- 31:15Speaker 1: got a lot of guys who I would you know,
- 31:17Speaker 1: I guess we'd qualify as twos and threes. And so
- 31:20Speaker 1: how's that all going to play out? Like you certainly
- 31:22Speaker 1: have eight nine ten between the running backs, the tight ends,
- 31:26Speaker 1: and the receivers, you know, guys who are all pretty
- 31:29Speaker 1: evenly matched. I mean, is there a lot of difference
- 31:31Speaker 1: between your number one receiving threat and your fifth one?
- 31:34Speaker 1: Not a ton? So I think I don't have a
- 31:37Speaker 1: problem with the substitutions. I just have a question of
- 31:39Speaker 1: how is it all going to play out in camp?
- 31:41Speaker 1: And you know, what are those best groupings even going
- 31:43Speaker 1: to be? But I think, you know, substituting. But of
- 31:45Speaker 1: course on the things that I have a problem when
- 31:48Speaker 1: they screw up the substituting, which they've done over the
- 31:51Speaker 1: last two years. But that's on defense, right, That's what
- 31:53Speaker 1: I'm talking about, right, I mean, that's a different thing.
- 31:56Speaker 1: But my question would be which ones are those better
- 32:00Speaker 1: players are consistently out of the game in favor of
- 32:04Speaker 1: lesser players On offense, right, can you say, like, you know,
- 32:08Speaker 1: this was a key third down? What was what's Barmar
- 32:11Speaker 1: doing on the sideline? Well, no, that's again that's defense.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm talking offense. Okay, Like it was a key third
- 32:16Speaker 1: and seven and Kendrick Bourne wasn't in, Like do you like,
- 32:19Speaker 1: could you think of that like on a consistent basis
- 32:22Speaker 1: last year? Right, you know, like taking Gronk off the
- 32:24Speaker 1: field and a third and sight like a real life
- 32:27Speaker 1: I don't think they have guys that you would say, well,
- 32:30Speaker 1: it's a go to play, I gotta get the ball
- 32:32Speaker 1: to Edelman, right, you know right, they don't have that.
- 32:35Speaker 1: They don't have those guys third and thirteen and you're
- 32:37Speaker 1: pulling Edelman and Gronk off the field like that would,
- 32:39Speaker 1: but they don't. They don't do that. Let's go to
- 32:42Speaker 1: h Christian in LA. What's up Christian? Hey you guys,
- 32:46Speaker 1: Happy Tuesday. Happy Tuesday to you all. And yeah, as
- 32:49Speaker 1: you get closer to the seasons starting, I could feel
- 32:52Speaker 1: the butterflies in my you know that make Thoddney creep up.
- 32:55Speaker 1: When we talking about the team and what's going to happen,
- 32:57Speaker 1: and I look at Sports Center and the other teams
- 33:00Speaker 1: and NFL networking what they're saying. I'm starting to get
- 33:02Speaker 1: that feeling. I don't know if you guys have that same. Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 1: I don't have the butterflies yet, dread ye. Speaking of team,
- 33:12Speaker 1: I was thinking that I got friend to chastead of
- 33:14Speaker 1: me speaking of teams, I was thinking this yesterday. You know,
- 33:19Speaker 1: you guys have been together for a very long time.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I've listened to you guys for a lot of years
- 33:22Speaker 1: and got a lot of pleasure other listening to you,
- 33:24Speaker 1: learned a lot and been scold at that point when
- 33:27Speaker 1: I wasn't writing, and that with that in mind, I
- 33:32Speaker 1: wanted to ask you guys to play a little game
- 33:34Speaker 1: of Because teams are built of people that you think
- 33:38Speaker 1: bring something to the table that either someone else can't
- 33:41Speaker 1: or doesn't. What do you guys think each of your
- 33:44Speaker 1: colleague best trade skill or instinct as a reporter or
- 33:47Speaker 1: supporter is huh, our colleagues, wow, our coworkers. Yeah? I
- 33:55Speaker 1: mean Paul is his memory and able to recall facts?
- 33:59Speaker 1: You guys right there? I think I think Deuce's passion,
- 34:03Speaker 1: you know, alex her nose for the story, right, wow, wow, No, yeah,
- 34:12Speaker 1: I would think so. I think I'm pretty good at
- 34:14Speaker 1: finding stories and writing features and making things interesting that
- 34:17Speaker 1: might others not and to marrow her presentation, right, Okay,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I'll take that. All right, that's knowledge I would agree,
- 34:28Speaker 1: I think. I mean, I think Fred with his ability
- 34:30Speaker 1: to wave his pomp pomps in the air high regardless
- 34:33Speaker 1: of situation, he's like the Godfather though, So all right,
- 34:38Speaker 1: what do you think are That was a really good question? Yeah, yeah,
- 34:42Speaker 1: you know, I think I'm not gonna say, but I
- 34:45Speaker 1: think I want you guys to keep taking my call.
- 34:47Speaker 1: So I'm all right, finish on a high mark. Yeah,
- 34:53Speaker 1: all right, thanks a lot. Christian Melvin and Tennessee is
- 34:56Speaker 1: on the line. What's up, sweet kidd? What's going on? Hey? Hey, hey,
- 35:02Speaker 1: I got just a general like NFL question. Um, So
- 35:06Speaker 1: with a player, let's say like Lamar Jackson, because he's
- 35:10Speaker 1: a perfect example m MVP obviously, but you know he's
- 35:16Speaker 1: had some struggles in the playoffs and he doesn't throw
- 35:18Speaker 1: the boat necessarily well all the time. So if you
- 35:21Speaker 1: are the owner of that team, would you feel comfortable
- 35:26Speaker 1: giving him a contract and the Deshaun Watson range with
- 35:29Speaker 1: somebody you like. I don't know, but you don't know
- 35:34Speaker 1: if he's necessarily gonna take you to the Promised Land
- 35:38Speaker 1: or not. You all feel comfortable to get him better.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I will, I would, I mean not. The Deshaun Watson's
- 35:44Speaker 1: contract is different than everybody else's in terms of the guarantee.
- 35:48Speaker 1: I have no problem with giving Lamar Jackson that money,
- 35:51Speaker 1: but not the structure of the contract. I don't like.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want to be the only
- 35:56Speaker 1: one like. I think that's where Cleveland made a mistake,
- 35:58Speaker 1: Like why they have to be the only ones they
- 36:00Speaker 1: give like a two hundred and thirty million dollars guaranteed contract. Right,
- 36:04Speaker 1: But getting back to Lamar Jackson, you know you think
- 36:07Speaker 1: Paul or anyone here, he's an the league question. He's
- 36:10Speaker 1: a guy that can take you all the way. Yeah,
- 36:12Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, I would have no problems with
- 36:15Speaker 1: doing that. He's one A ridiculous amount of games you
- 36:18Speaker 1: can win with a guy that wins that often. I
- 36:21Speaker 1: don't know, I don't I just find him it's too unorthodox. Yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 1: I think it's hard to pin down, and you know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: it's just the inconsistency. And I mean, I think that
- 36:31Speaker 1: the Ravens. I have a lot of respect for the
- 36:33Speaker 1: way they build their team and you know, the toughness
- 36:35Speaker 1: that they've always kind of exuded. But I just find
- 36:39Speaker 1: Lamar it's it's so up and down, and I think
- 36:40Speaker 1: to some extent, you know, you kind of a revictim
- 36:42Speaker 1: to the quarterback. You get like that. It's not always perfect,
- 36:46Speaker 1: but sometimes you end up having to pay the highest
- 36:49Speaker 1: salary in the league to a quarterback that you still
- 36:51Speaker 1: have significant questions just because he's your guy. The contract
- 36:55Speaker 1: came up. But I would just have real I mean,
- 36:59Speaker 1: at least with Mac, I feel like, you know, in
- 37:01Speaker 1: twelve as a starter, thirty seven and twelve, Yeah, I
- 37:07Speaker 1: think you can win with that guy. Makes me crazy,
- 37:09Speaker 1: I know, but I think you can win with a
- 37:11Speaker 1: guy who's thirty seven and twelve. You can, you can,
- 37:14Speaker 1: But are you ready to It doesn't mean that he's
- 37:18Speaker 1: the Lamar Jackson for the next doesn't mean that he's
- 37:20Speaker 1: the only guy I would take. I could probably go
- 37:23Speaker 1: seven or eight deep before I got to Lamar Jackson.
- 37:25Speaker 1: So what's his deal? Is he up for? A contract soon.
- 37:28Speaker 1: He's been the last year of his deal, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 1: So we'll see what they do. We'll see what they do,
- 37:33Speaker 1: and then we'll have our answer. And to Mike's point,
- 37:35Speaker 1: the only thing that would cause me, you know, any
- 37:38Speaker 1: kind of pause would be the durability. Yeah, Like, he's
- 37:42Speaker 1: been remarkably durable for a guy who runs the amount
- 37:45Speaker 1: that he does. Right, But let's see the next four
- 37:49Speaker 1: years if he can keep doing that, right like that,
- 37:51Speaker 1: that's a question. I agree with Mike on that, but
- 37:53Speaker 1: it feels like they just got to bite the bullet.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Even if they do have some questions. The whole up
- 37:57Speaker 1: and down nature is not really evident in his performance.
- 38:01Speaker 1: But he's I mean, he's going to command top money
- 38:06Speaker 1: for sure. Like Paul said, it may not be the
- 38:08Speaker 1: type of guarantee that Watson has, but it's going to
- 38:11Speaker 1: be in that range forty million thirty eight million a year.
- 38:15Speaker 1: It has to be and right, and if you don't
- 38:17Speaker 1: do it with him, after changing your and kind of
- 38:19Speaker 1: molding your offense around him, then like, well, them, what
- 38:22Speaker 1: are you gonna do? So if you re up your
- 38:24Speaker 1: starting quarterback that you've had for four or five years
- 38:29Speaker 1: and you choose to re up him. That's what it's
- 38:31Speaker 1: going to cost you, no question. Yeah, I mean it's
- 38:35Speaker 1: if you don't. If you don't want to re up him,
- 38:37Speaker 1: then you let him go. But if you if you're
- 38:40Speaker 1: like saying, he's been my quarterback for four years and
- 38:44Speaker 1: now his contract is up, I need to retain like
- 38:46Speaker 1: Kylo Murray's, that's what he's going to get, Like the market,
- 38:49Speaker 1: Josh Allen, that's what he got, Like, that's what these
- 38:52Speaker 1: guys are going to get as the established starting quarterback
- 38:55Speaker 1: that you're now saying, you're saying publicly you've been my
- 38:58Speaker 1: quarterback for four years, going to be my quarterback for
- 39:01Speaker 1: the next five You're not getting that guy for twenty
- 39:03Speaker 1: five million. It's not going to happen, right. You can't
- 39:07Speaker 1: stack it up and say, well, you were the fourth
- 39:09Speaker 1: best quarterback last year, so we're going to give you
- 39:11Speaker 1: the fourth month. Like it's just like I said, you
- 39:14Speaker 1: you draft these guys and they can't be perfect, but
- 39:17Speaker 1: you're stuck. You're stuck with that. And believe me, I
- 39:20Speaker 1: know Lamar Jackson is not there. There are things that
- 39:24Speaker 1: you can't have that he can't do, Like he's not
- 39:27Speaker 1: going to consistently be able to throw it coming from
- 39:31Speaker 1: behind and win that way. He needs to play away that.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Maybe it's hard to say that you're going to win
- 39:37Speaker 1: four times in the playoffs play in that way, or
- 39:39Speaker 1: three times in whatever the case may be. Thanks I think,
- 39:43Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's going to be interesting with
- 39:45Speaker 1: what I mean. We don't know how mac Jones is
- 39:47Speaker 1: next few years are going to go. But when the
- 39:49Speaker 1: Patriots get to that point with him, and but I mean,
- 39:51Speaker 1: just just to sort of illustrate, like how consistent he's been.
- 39:55Speaker 1: You know, his rookie year he was fifty eight point
- 39:57Speaker 1: two percent, but the last three years as when he
- 40:00Speaker 1: became the full time starter at sixty six point one,
- 40:02Speaker 1: sixty four point four, sixty four point four, you know,
- 40:05Speaker 1: thirty six touchdowns, twenty six touchdown like last year it
- 40:08Speaker 1: was only sixteen. But he did miss time because of
- 40:11Speaker 1: covid um last year. And he's he wins, I mean
- 40:18Speaker 1: when when he played. And that's not even talking about
- 40:19Speaker 1: his rushing numbers, which are obviously much more impressive than
- 40:23Speaker 1: his passing numbers, because he's a better runner than he
- 40:25Speaker 1: is a passers. It's these are the questions that these
- 40:30Speaker 1: teams have to kill themselves to try to figure out
- 40:33Speaker 1: because it's not easy to say I have a guy
- 40:37Speaker 1: with flaws that I know that everybody sees, but I
- 40:40Speaker 1: still have to give him thirty five million or thirty million.
- 40:43Speaker 1: You know, Garoppolos won a lot of games. San Francisco
- 40:47Speaker 1: decided they could do better and they pulled the plug. Um,
- 40:52Speaker 1: what if Trey Lance stinks, right, You're gonna look back
- 40:55Speaker 1: and say Shanahan cost himself a job because he just
- 40:58Speaker 1: wouldn't stick with Oppo, Right, Yeah? Absolutely? Uh. Web radio
- 41:04Speaker 1: at Patriots dot Com is the email address, and Gary
- 41:07Speaker 1: from Sunderland writes in Alex as a fellow Western Master,
- 41:11Speaker 1: I'm looking to you to correct Paul when he says
- 41:13Speaker 1: am Hurst. Us Western masters know the h is silent.
- 41:18Speaker 1: The worst was the people I went to you, Mass
- 41:20Speaker 1: Amherst with that didn't know how to pronounce Amherst. Ammer.
- 41:23Speaker 1: You pay to go to this school. I've heard I've
- 41:25Speaker 1: heard people say Amerst. I've always said Amherston too, and
- 41:30Speaker 1: I will continue and I will continue to say it
- 41:32Speaker 1: that way, Amherst. It sounded weird, like when you just
- 41:35Speaker 1: said it was the first time I was like that,
- 41:36Speaker 1: what that's sounds weird. I've just learned something new. Uh.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Andre from New Jersey writes in the bet is On.
- 41:44Speaker 1: In case you guys don't remember, I wrote in saying
- 41:47Speaker 1: Patriots winning eleven to twelve games, which Paul laughed at
- 41:50Speaker 1: me for so uh if not, if don't, I'll If
- 41:55Speaker 1: they don't, I'll buy you guys lunch in the near future.
- 41:58Speaker 1: If they do win eleven or twelve, I would like
- 42:01Speaker 1: Patriots tickets for next season for one of their home games. Fred,
- 42:05Speaker 1: make it happened. Please. If they win twelve games, I
- 42:07Speaker 1: will give you a pair of tickets store game. You
- 42:10Speaker 1: have my word, Yeah, provided that I maintain my employment here. Now,
- 42:16Speaker 1: what happened to the Celtics losing three straight games? I'm stunned.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Jason Tatum is the biggest one to blame for their collapse,
- 42:24Speaker 1: turning the ball over and not showing up in the
- 42:26Speaker 1: fourth quarter. People say it's fatigue, but I'm not buying it.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Show the hell up for your team. You, oh, Kobe Idler,
- 42:34Speaker 1: but will never be a Kobe Okay? Well whatever, Yeah,
- 42:39Speaker 1: that's rough. I mean, I think from the beginning I said,
- 42:41Speaker 1: like I was nervous about the Celtics ability to go
- 42:45Speaker 1: shot for shot with the Warriors. I mean, Steph is
- 42:51Speaker 1: there's no words even described what stuff is. He's a
- 42:54Speaker 1: cool cat. Yeah, nothing phases them, No, yeah, nothing at all.
- 43:00Speaker 1: And it's funny because I haven't real you guys know
- 43:03Speaker 1: how invested in the Celtics I am. But I still
- 43:05Speaker 1: every time I see Draymond Green like kind of talking
- 43:07Speaker 1: smack a little bit, I get a little bit mad
- 43:08Speaker 1: about it. I don't even have anything invested in. Well,
- 43:11Speaker 1: he better just stopped talking. Remember I told you that
- 43:13Speaker 1: Mike wasn't watching the games? Was it pain? So Friday
- 43:18Speaker 1: morning I sent him a text and I said, Celtics
- 43:22Speaker 1: lost last night. I just thought you should know. So
- 43:25Speaker 1: I think, to me, the whole key to the thing
- 43:27Speaker 1: was Golden States defense. They played date better defense. And
- 43:32Speaker 1: I think people gave him credit for going into the series,
- 43:35Speaker 1: you know, people for oh, you know, Celtics had some
- 43:38Speaker 1: really you know, really physical series and now they're gonna
- 43:42Speaker 1: play Golden State. And I even said it, you know,
- 43:45Speaker 1: they're more finessed team and they're gonna have it easier.
- 43:48Speaker 1: You know, points are gonna be higher. And it was
- 43:50Speaker 1: the opposite. I mean, I'm not saying that Golden State
- 43:53Speaker 1: was more physical than Miami, for example, but they they
- 43:57Speaker 1: played better defense. You know, well, how did you guys
- 44:00Speaker 1: rate the Celtics defensive effort over those last few games?
- 44:03Speaker 1: It was that the kind of defense that they played
- 44:05Speaker 1: during the season, or lost defensive effort. There was no
- 44:09Speaker 1: effort there anywhere there was. They weren't going for offensive
- 44:11Speaker 1: rebounds to fifty fifty. If you get more offensive rebounds,
- 44:15Speaker 1: what happens like they were just giving away possession after
- 44:19Speaker 1: possession after possession, and then yeah, just I don't know.
- 44:23Speaker 1: There were times things went wrong. I think they got
- 44:25Speaker 1: out coached too, and I think definitely the third quarter
- 44:28Speaker 1: honestly told the story of every single game. But I
- 44:31Speaker 1: think Tamara's point about the shots like their ability to match,
- 44:35Speaker 1: I think that's the I think the Celtics played excellent
- 44:38Speaker 1: defense for the most part in the finals. The difference,
- 44:40Speaker 1: I think, but I think Golden State also played really
- 44:43Speaker 1: good No, I agree with that, But to Tamara's point,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I think they played very similar defense that they played
- 44:49Speaker 1: in other games, except for it wasn't like Pat Connaughton
- 44:53Speaker 1: taken the wide open three. Yeah, it was a guy
- 44:56Speaker 1: who could make it. Yeah, you know, and I love
- 44:58Speaker 1: Pat Connaton, He's lives two towns over for him. But
- 45:02Speaker 1: you know, yeah, Jordan Poole is like this, this sort
- 45:08Speaker 1: of you know, uber athletic guy comes off the bench,
- 45:12Speaker 1: has irrational confidence, he's kind of crazy, and he had
- 45:15Speaker 1: a terrible series, like as a whole, but there were
- 45:18Speaker 1: times that he came in and just like hit like
- 45:21Speaker 1: three threes in a row in like a ninety second span,
- 45:24Speaker 1: Like that wasn't happening in the previous series, right, you know,
- 45:28Speaker 1: when some guy that I still can't pronounce his name,
- 45:30Speaker 1: Struss or something like that for Miami, what's his name,
- 45:32Speaker 1: you'll know, Alex what he actually used to be on
- 45:36Speaker 1: the see. Yeah, there's a difference between a guy who
- 45:42Speaker 1: doesn't belong in the league taken threes in the Eastern
- 45:44Speaker 1: Conference Finals being left wide open, as opposed to Clay
- 45:49Speaker 1: Thompson being left wide open because Marcus Smart decides to
- 45:51Speaker 1: dive seventeen feet to the left and slide under the
- 45:55Speaker 1: Basketbabel Like, there was a lot of stuff felt like
- 46:00Speaker 1: initially it was gonna be okay, and then I don't
- 46:05Speaker 1: know when I saw it go on and on about
- 46:06Speaker 1: the line. I didn't because I didn't see the first
- 46:08Speaker 1: half because I was at my son's on that show
- 46:11Speaker 1: before that game about the lineups Sachard and and it's
- 46:15Speaker 1: just like what am I watching? I was gonna full
- 46:19Speaker 1: Paul Poet mode about midways with the second quarter about
- 46:22Speaker 1: the lineup that was in the game. I was getting
- 46:24Speaker 1: a lot of that lineup didn't come out and looks
- 46:27Speaker 1: went on and Celtics out to a ten point lead,
- 46:31Speaker 1: and then it was just all when I saw they
- 46:33Speaker 1: were up by ten because I wasn't I didn't see it.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I couldn't see how the game was unfolding, and I thought,
- 46:40Speaker 1: I was like, this is so typical. Then they get
- 46:42Speaker 1: the crowd going front Runner come then in a blanket
- 46:45Speaker 1: was like a twenty one nothing running the game with
- 46:47Speaker 1: the series was over. It's over, yeah, Richard writes in
- 46:51Speaker 1: um he where is he from? Oh? From Ohio? So
- 46:55Speaker 1: I'm getting a little tired of the Matt can't throw
- 46:57Speaker 1: deep narrative. We know it's far. Is there a narrative
- 47:00Speaker 1: that says that, Um, some some people say he doesn't
- 47:03Speaker 1: have a strong arm. That's not saying he can't throw DP. Okay,
- 47:07Speaker 1: there's a narrative that he doesn't have a strong arm
- 47:09Speaker 1: that I will agree. We know it's false, but since
- 47:11Speaker 1: when did quarterbacks have to throw fifty plus yards downfield
- 47:14Speaker 1: every down? Isn't the smarter choice to take a check
- 47:17Speaker 1: down and get three plus yards? Well not if the
- 47:20Speaker 1: guy's wide open down. If you want to complete seventy
- 47:23Speaker 1: percent of your passes and not score, right, it's a
- 47:25Speaker 1: great way to do. Also, I got some Patriots trivia
- 47:28Speaker 1: for you. What former Patriots player was born in Nazi Germany?
- 47:35Speaker 1: So he was born in Germany during the thirties or forties,
- 47:40Speaker 1: which would make him about twenty in the sixties. So
- 47:42Speaker 1: you're looking at somebody. Was Geno born? I think he
- 47:47Speaker 1: was in Minnesota? Wasn't he? I thought he was, wasn't he? Oh? Yeah,
- 47:50Speaker 1: you're probably right. There was like a military background to
- 47:54Speaker 1: his Yeah. Anyway, the answer is Gerhard Schwadi's Schwadie Syracuse. Yeah,
- 48:00Speaker 1: he's got his Swadi's balls, Garhart Schwit Did you see them?
- 48:06Speaker 1: What's the name of the movie with um? Oh? God? Okay?
- 48:12Speaker 1: The Syracuse movie with sim Brown and Floyd m Floyd Little.
- 48:17Speaker 1: There was a Syracuse movie Run to Orange Orange peel
- 48:25Speaker 1: crushed Orange. Anyway, the express thank you. Garhart Schwadis was
- 48:31Speaker 1: one of the Syracuse players in that Okay, nice alex
- 48:36Speaker 1: a Pentucket. I've been meaning to write in and say
- 48:39Speaker 1: hello to the new member, Alexandra. As someone who was
- 48:43Speaker 1: born and raised in New Bedford, I can confirm that
- 48:45Speaker 1: there was a big rivalry with New Bedford and Ludlow
- 48:49Speaker 1: in terms of soccer. While I played for the Vocational
- 48:52Speaker 1: high school soccer team, our public high school would play
- 48:55Speaker 1: Ludlow and the games were intense, big Portuguese rivals, which
- 49:00Speaker 1: leads me to this question for alex is Ludlow comprised
- 49:03Speaker 1: of more people from the continent or Azors? The continent? Okay, mainland? Also,
- 49:09Speaker 1: where does your family come from? My family is a Zarian,
- 49:13Speaker 1: curious to hear yours. What is your favorite Portuguese dish?
- 49:16Speaker 1: You may need to share the wealth of Portuguese food
- 49:19Speaker 1: with the crew. Yeah, I think I'm gonna bring them
- 49:21Speaker 1: in some fulad at some point. Oh, it's a Portuguese
- 49:25Speaker 1: bread with shootie of baked and shootus and bacon. It's
- 49:28Speaker 1: phenomenal anything with bacon products. The shootice is the best
- 49:32Speaker 1: part of it. Yes, wait, guys, just wait, Oh no, no, no,
- 49:35Speaker 1: I'm in. I'm yeah. My father's family is from the
- 49:38Speaker 1: Algarve region, so the southern coasts where they have the
- 49:41Speaker 1: surfing competitions. Nazade, my mom more central countryside, um above Lisbon. Okay,
- 49:51Speaker 1: what was the other or the rest of the questions
- 49:54Speaker 1: that was it? What's your favorite dish? I think from Yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 1: that type of thing. Yeah, okay. Ernie Davis is the
- 50:01Speaker 1: guy was thinking of. By the way, Ernie Davis for
- 50:03Speaker 1: that book, I mean, for that movie. There was a story.
- 50:06Speaker 1: It was the Ernie Davis story. I see. Um, Patty's
- 50:10Speaker 1: an agawam on the stick and heartline. What's up, Patty?
- 50:14Speaker 1: What's going on? Guys and gals? Hey, Yo, So you
- 50:18Speaker 1: guys were just to go kind of circle back to
- 50:21Speaker 1: the beginning when you guys were talking about Joe Judge
- 50:23Speaker 1: and Matt Tricia. Um, we saw like when Dante was
- 50:28Speaker 1: here that whenever there was an issue or not necessarily
- 50:32Speaker 1: an issue, but in between UM series, like when the
- 50:35Speaker 1: offense was off the field and the defense was on
- 50:37Speaker 1: the field, he was always coaching the offensive lineup and
- 50:41Speaker 1: I just want to know, like, if what's going to happen,
- 50:45Speaker 1: Like if he's the offensive line coach, and he needs
- 50:48Speaker 1: to talk to them and talk to Max. How How
- 50:50Speaker 1: the hell is it going to make that happen? Yeah,
- 50:52Speaker 1: Canty two places that one. No, that's a good point.
- 50:54Speaker 1: That's why we thought that maybe it's Joe Judge that
- 50:56Speaker 1: sits next to Mac on the sideline and Patricia, you know,
- 51:01Speaker 1: because Matt, supposedly Joe Judge is like the quarterback coach
- 51:05Speaker 1: that would right where else would he be? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 51:09Speaker 1: I think it's this question where's Patricia? But I bet
- 51:11Speaker 1: they both have headsets on. I bet it's kind of unclear,
- 51:14Speaker 1: but I get I get kind of what Patty's saying.
- 51:15Speaker 1: So let's just say it is Patricia calling the plays.
- 51:19Speaker 1: You also want to talk to Mac between series two,
- 51:23Speaker 1: like what happened on that one? You know, I call
- 51:26Speaker 1: this play because X, what happened? What did you see?
- 51:30Speaker 1: You know, because you need that knowledge going forward, you know,
- 51:33Speaker 1: And you don't want to play telephone Matt, Patricia to
- 51:36Speaker 1: Joe Judge to Mac, back to Joe Judge, back to Patricia.
- 51:39Speaker 1: You know, you want there to be direct lines and
- 51:41Speaker 1: communications as well. So how's it gonna play out? I mean,
- 51:46Speaker 1: just to jump off of that too, like if Let's
- 51:48Speaker 1: say they give Billy as the game day. You know,
- 51:51Speaker 1: he's the guy to talk to be offensive playing on
- 51:53Speaker 1: game day. I mean, you're you're running into a situation
- 51:55Speaker 1: like you have been in the past couple of years
- 51:57Speaker 1: with Steve Belichick and Gerard Mayo, where one guy said
- 52:00Speaker 1: something during the week and then you get on the
- 52:02Speaker 1: field on Sunday and somebody else's telling me something. You know, Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: who are you? Who are you looking to? I mean,
- 52:07Speaker 1: I think Max's the most important part. I don't think
- 52:09Speaker 1: you know, an offensive line coach is gonna make I mean,
- 52:11Speaker 1: I do think obviously it's important, but you know, at
- 52:14Speaker 1: the end of the day, it's about Mac and getting
- 52:17Speaker 1: him in the offense to execute and whatever they need
- 52:20Speaker 1: to do to keep that line of communication clear. I mean,
- 52:23Speaker 1: I'm sure we'll see a lot of it in camp
- 52:24Speaker 1: and in the in stadium practice and all that. We'll
- 52:27Speaker 1: see them working on. How that's all gonna what's more
- 52:29Speaker 1: likely to happen all these young guys on defense, like
- 52:32Speaker 1: it all works out, or this whole coaching thing works out. Coaching. Yeah,
- 52:39Speaker 1: it's hard to believe that Bill would put them in
- 52:42Speaker 1: a position where they're just like not prepared all to
- 52:44Speaker 1: take defense. I just think as players, I think they
- 52:47Speaker 1: got better players on the offensive side of the ball.
- 52:49Speaker 1: You know, I don't. I mean I could see, but
- 52:51Speaker 1: I thought you were talking about the coaching as opposed
- 52:53Speaker 1: to the young guys on defense. No, no, the young
- 52:56Speaker 1: guys on defense, Like that's gonna be fine. That's gonna
- 52:58Speaker 1: be the because the duty because whoever, whatever you pick,
- 53:01Speaker 1: you can just say, oh I want. But you know,
- 53:03Speaker 1: there's several questions going into the season. One of them is,
- 53:07Speaker 1: you know, we lost Vinny, we lost all these guys.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Will these young people be able to step up in
- 53:12Speaker 1: those roles? That's a question going in the season for
- 53:15Speaker 1: the defense. Another question is what's going on with the
- 53:18Speaker 1: offensive coaching and which one is more likely to be
- 53:22Speaker 1: it was fine, I would say offense. I feel more.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I feel pretty confident that the offense will be in
- 53:28Speaker 1: the top half of the league. I don't know that's
- 53:31Speaker 1: something I'm talking about. Like, Okay, so I said. The
- 53:34Speaker 1: beauty of this is you can make an argument that
- 53:35Speaker 1: you're right no matter what happened. Right right, Mac just
- 53:37Speaker 1: made an unbelievable leap anybody the defense back. I hear
- 53:41Speaker 1: what you're saying like, if the offense does fine, then ergo.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Probably the coaching was fine, but you know, maybe not.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Maybe there's like we hear things like, oh, despite Matt patrition,
- 53:54Speaker 1: Joe Judge's best efforts to screw it all up some
- 53:57Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. That's what I'm That's what I'm
- 54:00Speaker 1: envisioning if it really works out offensive, Thanks Patty. They
- 54:03Speaker 1: succeeded despite a lack of guidance. I mean, people said
- 54:07Speaker 1: last year that Mac Jones was good despite Josh McDaniels
- 54:10Speaker 1: with the restrictor played on him all year and wouldn't
- 54:12Speaker 1: let him do anything. Like you heard all kinds of
- 54:15Speaker 1: criticism of Josh McDaniels last year. Well, and now he's
- 54:18Speaker 1: especially bad because he's gone. What would your expectations be
- 54:20Speaker 1: for the offensive if Josh was here, If Josh was
- 54:22Speaker 1: still here, everything else is the same, but Josh, I
- 54:25Speaker 1: would I would listen, I'm bullish on the offense. Now
- 54:28Speaker 1: I'd be even more bullish, right, Yeah, you know, so
- 54:31Speaker 1: I would think that they would continue to do what
- 54:33Speaker 1: they did last year and maximize what they had, find
- 54:36Speaker 1: different ways to yeah, you know, exploit you know, some
- 54:40Speaker 1: some openings and defenses the way that they did. I
- 54:42Speaker 1: think Josh had a good feel for when to call
- 54:46Speaker 1: a shot play, when to call a trick play. You
- 54:49Speaker 1: know they almost they almost always work when when they
- 54:52Speaker 1: did it. I don't know that we can realize on
- 54:54Speaker 1: that again right this year Williams and Philham? What's up
- 54:57Speaker 1: William what's going on for it? Hey? How are you
- 55:00Speaker 1: doing good? All? Right? Um? My question is, uh, for
- 55:05Speaker 1: the ladies, whynot um as as the roster as a whole?
- 55:09Speaker 1: You know what, what do you think what do you
- 55:11Speaker 1: think should be? Well, what do you think those should
- 55:15Speaker 1: add more? Basically too like to what position? Because I'm
- 55:18Speaker 1: skeptical attack about this roster theory ladies? Hmm, well, she added,
- 55:25Speaker 1: I mean I don't want I don't want to jump
- 55:27Speaker 1: on you, but what are you gonna add at this point? Oh?
- 55:31Speaker 1: Adding now it's too late? Are you saying? In a
- 55:33Speaker 1: perfect world if you can make out that, why do
- 55:35Speaker 1: you say that? I was just listening. I was listening
- 55:39Speaker 1: to the radio today and Dominican Sue is going to
- 55:41Speaker 1: be available. Yeah, he was not gonna What is he
- 55:42Speaker 1: gonna do? What? What's he gonna do? You don't think
- 55:45Speaker 1: putting him in the middle of the line would help
- 55:47Speaker 1: against the run. I feel like maybe I don't know,
- 55:49Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like at this point it's
- 55:51Speaker 1: going to come down to coaching and um, you know,
- 55:56Speaker 1: finding a diamond in the rough and being hopeful and
- 56:00Speaker 1: optimistic in the young players that we haven't been able
- 56:03Speaker 1: to see play much because of the veterans. I think
- 56:05Speaker 1: that it's going to be time to see some of
- 56:07Speaker 1: this potential actually turn into production. And I think that's
- 56:10Speaker 1: what it's going to come down to. Who's going to
- 56:12Speaker 1: rise to the occasion. And unfortunately that's all that we
- 56:16Speaker 1: have left at this point. I mean I like that
- 56:18Speaker 1: potential into production. Yeah, potential into production. I mean I
- 56:21Speaker 1: feel like, you know, you see the potential in what
- 56:25Speaker 1: this roster could be, and it's now it's time for
- 56:27Speaker 1: everyone to rise to the occasion. And honestly, it's going
- 56:30Speaker 1: to come down to coaching and seeing what Bill Belichick
- 56:34Speaker 1: company in the rough. I mean, the draft is over,
- 56:40Speaker 1: like free agency is over. Um, into Ball's point, there's
- 56:45Speaker 1: not much out there, like, so now you have to
- 56:46Speaker 1: make best with what you have. Yeah, I'd still be
- 56:49Speaker 1: excited with the front seven guy not to jump in
- 56:50Speaker 1: on this, but you know what, we've talked about Trey Flowers.
- 56:53Speaker 1: I don't know how like that is. There hasn't only
- 56:55Speaker 1: been much talk of that. But I would take a
- 56:58Speaker 1: guy who's already been here like that that doesn't have
- 57:02Speaker 1: any kind of a transition to make. He could help. Okay,
- 57:05Speaker 1: he's not going to make a difference in terms of
- 57:06Speaker 1: wins and losses or anything, but he could help. Yeah,
- 57:08Speaker 1: Like thirty five year old in dominicansue like, yeah, he's
- 57:12Speaker 1: probably better than God. Job. But thanks, William, I don't
- 57:15Speaker 1: know what. I don't know what he's gonna give you, William.
- 57:17Speaker 1: In the streets of Philly, it's tough out there. Yeah,
- 57:20Speaker 1: do you see there was freaking shooting like right near
- 57:24Speaker 1: where we stayed when we were there in Philly? Is
- 57:25Speaker 1: that right? A couple of nights ago. Man, that it's crazy?
- 57:29Speaker 1: Mike writes in from La. Can you see Peppers taking
- 57:33Speaker 1: Duggers or even d Max snaps? His play style and
- 57:36Speaker 1: athletic ability gives him the edge on both of them,
- 57:39Speaker 1: So that was gonna be My answer is seeing like
- 57:41Speaker 1: how the secondary shapes up with the turnover and who
- 57:45Speaker 1: kind of steps up there all the safeties and slot corners.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I don't know what to make of Peppers and Dugger
- 57:51Speaker 1: and Phillips. I don't know how all three of those guys,
- 57:54Speaker 1: along with McCardy. I don't know how all four of
- 57:55Speaker 1: those get on the field consistently together. I mean, and
- 58:00Speaker 1: I guess you could make an argument that Peppers maybe
- 58:02Speaker 1: will play more like pure kind of linebacker role, and
- 58:05Speaker 1: there's been some of that in his career. But you've
- 58:09Speaker 1: got three guys that are all kind of strong safety
- 58:11Speaker 1: types like how much need and then Jonathan Jones also
- 58:14Speaker 1: kind of play safety too, So you know, they got
- 58:17Speaker 1: a lot of guys in the middle of the field.
- 58:18Speaker 1: I just I don't know how they defend the outside.
- 58:20Speaker 1: My thing is what happens when plays get extended? You know,
- 58:24Speaker 1: because I think if they can, you know, accelerate the
- 58:29Speaker 1: pace of the play and get the ball out of
- 58:31Speaker 1: the quarterbacks hands quicker than he wants, okay, then I
- 58:34Speaker 1: think you're in good shape. But what happens when you know,
- 58:37Speaker 1: either they're blocking really well and the quarterback has a
- 58:41Speaker 1: lot of time, or the quarterback himself just extends the play.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Can they You know, if you have these great safeties
- 58:47Speaker 1: who can play in the box, that's great, But can
- 58:49Speaker 1: they cover right. You know, well, I think it's worthwhile
- 58:52Speaker 1: question too, because you know who's getting your pressure besides
- 58:55Speaker 1: Judon and Barmore. And if those guys aren't having a
- 58:57Speaker 1: great game, you know who fills in? Who helps flush
- 59:00Speaker 1: a guy out of the pocket? And do you do
- 59:02Speaker 1: you have smart defensive ends that are going to know
- 59:04Speaker 1: how to play those mobile quarterbacks like Josh Allen keep
- 59:07Speaker 1: him you know? I mean, do you even want to
- 59:09Speaker 1: keep him in the pocket anymore? I don't know where
- 59:11Speaker 1: they're at with that. I mean, clearly we're still searching
- 59:13Speaker 1: for answers on him. It's uh, I just I have
- 59:18Speaker 1: a lot of questions about the defense, and that goes
- 59:20Speaker 1: back to the last question of you know, who are
- 59:22Speaker 1: these guys that are going to step up? And you know,
- 59:23Speaker 1: is Ouch ready to be a consistent at least third
- 59:27Speaker 1: down player, an impact you know, an impact Like it's fine,
- 59:31Speaker 1: he doesn't have to be a three down linebacker that plays,
- 59:34Speaker 1: you know, every snap, But I don't see how this
- 59:37Speaker 1: team really has a successful defense this year if he's
- 59:40Speaker 1: not an impact player on third down. Finally, like, and
- 59:44Speaker 1: I think he has the most potential and I'm not
- 59:47Speaker 1: saying it's a lot. We've seen little glimpses here and
- 59:49Speaker 1: there of his athleticism, but you know, I have yet
- 59:52Speaker 1: to see a play where wow, there it is if
- 59:55Speaker 1: he could just do that, you know. I mean, he's around,
- 59:58Speaker 1: he's athletic, but they're aren't plays like you saw from
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Barmore last year where a couple of times it was
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: like he's just a handful for any I mean, and
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: you knew that within two three practice. It was like
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: week two where they said we got a double team
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: this guy. Yeah team. You know, it was just apparent
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: that he's probably going to be stronger than most peoples.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: But I agree with Mike, like Judet, like he's a
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: pocket collapser. Barmore is disruptive. He's disruptive as hell, but
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: he's not going to be a guy that's consistently getting
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: the ball out of the quarterback's hands fast if there's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: no other pressure, right, because he's a he's a collapse guy.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: He's not a he just shot through a gap and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: around two guys and none of us. But he's a
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: guy who can push his guy. He does a pocket,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: so there's no other pressure than you just move. Yeah,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: and you know there's really he needs to be part
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: of something with others. And that's why I think I
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: think Mike, well, that's not what he is. I mean
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: big besides the fact it will probably end up getting
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: suspended like he does every other year, but on this team.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: So you a point. It would be as a lineback
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: who's gotten better. He's not the same guy he was early.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: He's not. He's not the same. I know he's older,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: which is why he's unemployed on you know, coming up
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: on July. Yeah, um Jack writes him. We were talking
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: about birthdays earlier. He said there's a strong correlation between
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: athletes being born early in the year in athletic success.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: This phenomenon is called the relative age effect. It's too
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: involved to explain. I didn't know this, but it's absolutely
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: a fact. It's too involved to explain briefly, but in
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: a nutshell, when young athletes are older than their cohorts,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: they experienced athletic success. Athletic success promotes confidence, and the
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: confidence gives young athletes motivation to continue their athletic pursuits.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: This has been well documented in both college and professional sports. Yeah,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: it was the economics, the ten thousand hours guy, umcol
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Maybe he had a chapter in one of his books
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: about this a little something about everything he actually used.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: He used hockey as an example of this, and in
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: Canada and how you had like a disparate number of
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: people in like March and April birthdays that are successful
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: NHL players. But like everything they said of you know,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: that perfect kind of sweet spot. And obviously the success
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: too helps to me, it's it's about it's more about
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: the school Like again, I haven't done any research. It's
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: more about the school year than it is like like
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: April is late. Yeah, because I was one of the
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: oldest kids in my class when we were birthday. Yes,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I'm just telling you anecdotally. There's a team that absolutely
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: dominated our liter league every year they had and it
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: was intentional. They used to get all the kids that
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: had like the August, September, October because they're a year
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: they're six months older than virtually everybody else at their
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: same age in the league. So when you're nine and
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: you're six months older than someone else who's nine, difference,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: that's a big part of your life. It's a half
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: of year out of nine, as opposed to like when
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: you're six months older than someone when you're fifty. It's nothing, right, Yeah,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: going into kindergarten two, Like there's a big difference between
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: being five and four. Yes, developmentally yes, Like my son
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: was one of the youngest kids in his class. As
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: an April birthday and Little League there was like three
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: kids in the twelve year olds they were like, we
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: had forty eight twelve year olds when TJ was in
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Little League and he was the third youngest. As in
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: an April birthday, I was born at the other June.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: It didn't hurt me, right, some of us were able
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: to overcome the June birthday and be a Division one athlete.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: And he that's true. That's true. Or an April birthday
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: for the Hall of Fame. As the kids like to
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: tell me, you know, it's because of the jeans that
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I gave them that they don't dominate the dad jeans. Yeah, um,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Tamara and Alice, did you know that Paul is in
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: the BU Baseball Hall of Fame? What's moving he is?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Let's move on? Why do you you know you should?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: He hit one of the scot he's ever seen in
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: his whole life. Paul Parola actually launched Surrender. You're one
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: of the longest home runs that Scott. I'm just gonna
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: call him long ball Paul, but seriously he Yeah, being
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: Baseball Hall of Fame right there. This is a good
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: fun fact. Yeah, I like that. Yeah to know this? Yeah,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: do you have like a plaque somewhere? A plaque? Do
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: you want me to bring it in together? Like a
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: like a bust? I don't know where it is, some
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: kind of bust. Now, the Being Baseball of Fame is
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: like downstairs, like next to the boiler room somewhere, Sergeant Jim, No,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: it's actually one of those new it's a cabinet right
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. What are you gonna do? The
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: parla wing? But he is, he's in, he's I mean
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: that's something. Yeah. What was your career record? Was there
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: like a career record? Yeah? Is that what caught you in?
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: What do you like? What? I was? Like? Eleven and
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: twenty career for you? And this is a guy who
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: doesn't like Kevin Faw. I never said that I should
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: have been in the Hall of Fame. Did you have
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: any no hitters? How much could you get on a fastball?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: So I'll tell you Paul was a lefty. I was
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: clocked at eighty five um pretty fast when um, are
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: you really a lefty? Yeah? Yeah, do you like me? Now?
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: She's only got a whole life, right, she's got a
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: whole profile. She's putting together again astrology, she's buildings. So
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I had a game that we played in Fenway. We
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: played in the first baseball bean Pot. And you said
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I ever didn't know hitters? Yeah. I was pitching against
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Northeastern and they had no hits in the seventh inning
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: and we were losing three nothing. Well, that's another thing.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: He loves Northeastern. But he went to be us moments
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: of Paul. That's another thing Sotheastern fan. My sophomore year
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: at Northeastern, I came in relief and Mike Kelfer was
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the short stop and he played hot. He's a really
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: good hockey. But you must know calf um. So he
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: comes in, he gets the ball after it goes around
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: the honey because especially be like a dream come true
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: for you. All right, Um, yeah, we'll find out. Yeah,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Paul's got quite a past. Yeah yeah, Everett, yea. I
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: will tell you that if you ever want to talk
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: about stories, they all almost involved me giving up Titanic
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: home runs. Because when you throw like eighty five and
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: you miss a spot, the ball goes along. Yeah. High.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: The thing about BU baseball is so Paul was on
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: the team. Brian Morey was on the BU baseball team.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Just took a turn. Brian Morey's on the BU baseball
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: team and hates the fact that Paul's in the Hall
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: of Fame. He's not embarrassed. Najarian was on the BU
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: baseball team only for a year, but right, he's not
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: in the Hall of Fame. No, he's not in the
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Hall of Fame either. Only Paul, just Paul. And it
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: just to be clear, it's not the BU Athletics Hall
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: of Fame. It's the BU Baseball Hall of Fame. Big difference.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Oh I see big. Yeah, he's not up there with
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Harry A. Gannis. No, no him and like a hockey guy.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Hello Jackie Parker. Now right, No, I may have declined
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: to the opportunity rusion. If it was that, I may
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: have declined the opportunity. Who's the shot? Who's the short
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: bald guy that even now, did you pose for a bust?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I did make the team my sophomore year. Did you
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Did they make a bust of you for the Hall
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: of fame. Is that what they do? You're sitting, they
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: make a bust so bad I want to just destroy
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: him right now. Did you get a ring? What did
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: you get for being in or something? Jelly? A plaque?
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: A plaque? It's a plaque. I'm kind of like, I
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: don't know, a little solid gold bust that was paper
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: while you sat for seven hours straight. It was not Ah,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: it was It was not a bust. They didn't do
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: the like stick things up your nose and they do
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: a plaster cast your head. How did you wear a
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Northeastern or be you just kidding? Watch out wat times? Yeah,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: good times. You're treading on water. He's treading carefully. He's
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: about just rain all hell over me. Uh, let's see
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: back to the emails. Johnny and leads England writes in
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: after listening to the Bold Take podcast with Greg Badard,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: whose guests thought that PRS Pierre Strong will lead the
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: team in all purpose yards with seven hundred rushing and
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: seven hundred receiving. I was keen to get your guys
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: take on a few categories and who leads each receiving touchdowns.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Who's who's gonna have the most receiving touchdowns? For the
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Patriots this year. I'm gonna say Hunter, Henry okay, easy,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: nobody DeVante Parker, nobody biting Parker. I could see maybe
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Myers are born a little bit. I was gonna go, kay,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: rushing touchdowns Stevenson really yeah, Okay, I think either way
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: you're you're in okay territory. Yeah, receiving yards yards Myers, Myers,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Kendrick Bourne, and finally rushing yards. Who has the most
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: rushing yards? Damien Stevenson. Okay, yeah, Damien or Dre. But
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: that's interesting, pure strong. Really, somebody's pretty pretty high on him. Yeah,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: but again, like an interesting player. He didn't tell us
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: who his guest is. That's trying too hard. Yeah, Like
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's impossible, like guys have had great
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: rookie years, but you're telling me that's what you think
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: is going to happen. He's going to have seven hundred
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: rushing and receiving yards. Yeah, Like how would camp have
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: to go for that to happen? Like how quick out
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: of the gate would he just be? Yeah, what I'm saying,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: you'd have to see it right away? Like this means
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: they traded Harris and Stevenson got hurt. M Like, I
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: don't really see how he gets the amount of opportunities
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: to rack up fourteen hundred total yards. Yeah, because even
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: like and James White isn't a factor, right, Well, yeah,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: we'll see on that one. But but I mean even Stevenson,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: who had a very good rookie year, Like, I mean,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: he had a great preseason touchdown in this first game,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: and that's probably about as much as you could ask
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: from a guy like preseason wise, and he was still
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: just kind of a rotational piece, not like then he
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: fumbled in the first game. I forgot about that and
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: then he put on ice. Yeah, we'll take a break
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: in a minute, but before we do, Eldred's in North Carolina.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: What's up, Eldrid? Hey lady, Hey, gentlemen, how y'all doing? Hey? Hey,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: hey free Yeah, I know why you got that bigger
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: your voice. Last time I talked to you about you
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: said about that account. Yeah that's okay, my original count.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I got on a black I got on a black shirt,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: a black hair and shade, and I'm in my camaro. Okay,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: original account. I got you the guy uh with me
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: and Melvin? I meant Mevin A couple of years ago,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: and we took a picture together, but on Facebook he
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: cut Mevin out. You got my picture? There? Got you? Okay? Yes?
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: The other guy? All right? Other guy? Yeah, because that
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: guy's particularly nasty. So you're not really a chauving this pig. Now,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: I'm not shoving this pig. But I can't get but
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I'm not. I can't but no, but no, I wouldn't
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Dad cut h cuse Fred out? Nothing like that all
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: you Paul or dude, we have some I won't get
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: you out either. No, we wouldn't do that. Man. But
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: my question is this, I saw this piece to my
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: five players that could help the Patriots. I keep wondering
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: why they keep getting older players instead of looking for
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: younger players. Question who who is the who is the
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: people on the list? Dad Tray Flowers, Dad Emmanuel Standards.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: Uh yeahs old guys, All old guys available. Now there's
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: no like Jason mccordy. Yeah, yeah, I mean the young
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: guys are still either under contract or you know, tree
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Flowers is younger enough to still I can see tree
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Flowers if you saw like a Jason mccordy signing, now
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: though you I would have real concerns of life. This
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: isn't going well. Malcolm Butler isn't working out, Terrence Mitchell
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: isn't working out. But they think Jack Jones is a
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: white ways off like at least the defensive end. I
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: could say, I think they're light, but if they if
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: they got a cornerback, I'd be I'd be worried. I
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: mean I already am worried too, So there you go.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: I'm worried too. But uh I heard y'all earlier, and
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry, y'all. I can't go with Joe Judge and
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Partici being office coordinator in which I just can't see it. Yeah,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: well you might have to. You might have no choice out.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: All right, Okay, thank you, Aldred. All right, Um, I'm
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: gonna take a break, eat some food. We come back.

- 1:23:02Speaker 1: now great moments in history, they are two separate. You're
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: just this person's concerned about the positionless coaching, right, and
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I'm saying that's not what it is. It's not positionless coaching,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: but that's what he's concerned about. Okay, But I just
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I should have alleviated your concerns by explaining that. Joe
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Judge told us last week he's working with CODA. He did.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Matt Patricia told us last week he's working with the
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: offensive line. Nick Kayley told us he's working with the
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: tight ends. There's no positionless worries for anybody. There are,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: you shouldn't have them. But I'm trying to allay the
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: fears of the email because all the coaches told you
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: what they're going to be doing. But no one told
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: you who's calling play. There's a lot of writers who
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: took it the other way and mentioned Steve Belichick and
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: Cam Accord and said, why aren't they Why aren't they
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: telling me the coordinators the concern? Why aren't they? Okay,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: But I'm just saying what some writers said, why aren't
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: they telling these coaches what they're doing? Right? Your show
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: went calling place? Yes, that's that's just calling plays. Well,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: that's the only thing that is unknown, Fred is who
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: is calling the plays on both sides? Okay, but I'm
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: telling you that it went further. Okay in your opinion,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: it didn't. I listened to the shows. You make fun
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: of me all the time for listening to my shows.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I listened to. Okay, they can't believe that Joe Judge
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: and Matt Patricia are in charge of Matt Jones is
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: all important that year two? That is true, that's the
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: concern that is true for them. But I will also
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: show you other people who wrote about why aren't they
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: telling you? Know? This is why are they doing this
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: in the end? Right? Why are they? Why are they
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: not telling who's calling the play? That the rest of
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: it they told you okay, when I show it to you,
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: then you can read it. These people were Mike, can
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: you please back. I think you're both saying the same thing. No, no, no,
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: that's another great moment from And by the way, I
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: did show Paul those who are writing that, and he said,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: oh that's oh I was wrong. And this is what
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: he showed me. And this is May God strike me
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: right dead right now. He showed me a blog linking
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: to the three three to a story three that said
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: exactly the opposite three three yes. And also it took
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: me two minutes to find three examples of not just
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: offensive coordinator, but patriots are No. I'm telling you. They
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: linked to a story that's that broke down Joe Judge, quarterbacks,
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: Matt Patricia offensive line. It was the day after that
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Monday was we got remember we got the coaches back
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: to back days. It was the it was the Tuesday
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: after the Monday, and it was the stories that we had.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: These blogs linked to the stories saying exactly the opposite.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Like somebody doesn't have reading comprehension. I guess they're linking
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: to stories. The concern is who was calling the place.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: That's the concern that remains. People still don't know who's
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: calling the place. No one's worried about who's coaching the
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: offensive line. Yeah, no one's worried about who's coaching the secondary.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I was the only point I was making on that day.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Is the day after those video calls where they had
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: the coaches lineup, there were there were writers saying they're
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: not telling anybody who's anything not right. And it wasn't
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: just the coordinator who's calling plays. It was overall. And
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: yes it was hyperbole and it wasn't accurate, but I'm
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: telling you that's what they were saying. And all I
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: was saying was that the writers weren't saying it. And
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: you showed me a blog linking to a writer's story.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: One was the opposite. One was USA Today. The other
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: was a blog one of you guys. Yeah yeah yeah,
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: blog yeah yeah yeah, blog y Sack. You know, Uh,
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Mike knows who I'm talking about it too. Believe me,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: they hate me enough. I don't have to say any
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: more names. They did. They had a minor mistake yesterday too.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: They had the wrong Darryl Williams. They like did like
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: Patriots side Daryl Williams, and it was the bills, Darryl Williams.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: So anyway, let's get back to these emails, shall we
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: um Extra in Santa Rosa, California says, my entire family
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: and myself got of six got COVID last week, had
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: kids throwing up and everyone was struggling. The fatigue was real,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: and so was the COVID fog. As they say now
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: everyone is doing much better, thank God. During the heightened
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: time of stress, the one thing that kept going through
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: my head was I can't believe the Patriots change up
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: the terminology of the offense. I can't do jokes. Aside,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: Alex was a great addition to the show Keep It
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Rolling as the sole listener of the Greg Hill Show.
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: I was rooting for her, but I'm happy that she
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: is now on the big longest running digital podcast episode
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Thing of all time? Offseason question, what is your favorite
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: superhero movie of all time? Mine is Spider Man Into
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: the Spider Verse, animated but phenomenal. That's a good soundtrack too.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: Is the Peter Porkers joke got me every time I
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: like laugh out loud Peter Porker. I'm Peter Porker. Um,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go with the Dark Knight. I still
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: love that one. That is the only hence, you know,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: just the moment the Joker. Yeah, yeah, I agree, Yeah,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: that's so good. I think my favorite Jackknight is Justice
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: League m Okay, just a matter of fact, I haven't
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: seen that one, but then i'd put the second one,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: The Dark Knight Rises just behind it, just behind it.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: I like that one too. But and then Batman begins.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: But I just like the realism. No, I like it.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I like it. I like it. I don't know what
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: to say. Um, I just like the realism, the realism
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: of the sports, you know it kind of the Batman
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: is the intersection of a superhero slash real guy. And
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: I just felt those movies just captured so much tension.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: I mean, I thought that the Avengers ones were pretty good.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: To the Big ones near the end where it was
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: kind of all coming together. I think they did a
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: great job with that one. But I agree. I think
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: the trilogy with Christopher Nolan what he with Batman, you know, start,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I think Dark Night one, Baying two, and then the
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: the first one was three. Yeah, it's fine. I watched
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: the new one too with with Pattinson. I don't know,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: I liked it. I thought it was really good people.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: I thought that was really good, awesome. That movie was great. Yeah.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: I liked the villain. I thought he was scary. He
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: seemed kind of like them, like the Zodiac, Like that
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: was the Zodiac Killer. That was kind of the vibe.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: I think they were going for it. So I liked him.
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: He was kind of scary. I needed freaking character development
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: out of that. Yeah, it was a lot of just
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: what are called it a seven rip off? That makes sense,
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: That makes sense, but seven was phenomenal. Seven was phenomenal.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Did I hear that they're doing another Joker movie and
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: it's a musical? Correct, and Lady Gaga is Harley Quinn.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Wait what Lady Gaga? Wait a minute, it's and it's
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: a DC production. Yeah, it's a legit sequel. So they're
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: making the Joker with what's his name. They're saying it's
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: gonna be like Locklin with the Joker and Holly Quinn
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: Joaquin Enix, and it's gonna be a musical. I mean,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: good luck. What was a Spider Man with Toby Maguire
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: where they did some they did some like musical. Oh
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: that one was rough, but that, like I think, Toby,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: I like the realism of it, and that feels like
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: it's I mean, maybe it'll be funny. I didn't see
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: The Joker was that good? It was good? Yeah, I
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: just find it funny that Mikess. I like the realism
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: of a superhero movie. Again, I know what you mean.
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: I know exactly what I was talking about. Tense, and
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: you know, it was just it was just a good movie.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: You were totally involved in it, and I thought Heath
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: Ledger was amazing, and you know, you didn't know how
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: it was all all gonna play out, and then there
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: was a, you know, a good twist in the end. Yeah.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: How come you don't make fun of Alex for wanting
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: more character development in the movies? I have no problem
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: with that. How Come when I saw a story backstory?
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: How come when I say things like that you make
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: fun of me because you're talking about almost Famous or
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: some movie like that. Like that movie I liked. I know,
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: I had so many I blew it. I blew it that. Yeah,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: can you pick and actually I abody I had and
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I missed the openness? Oh no, you I blew it six.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: It's a great movie. That's a good movie. She's all that.
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: I mean, come on, say anything. Take the glasses. Oh
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: my god, I didn't know she was stunningly beautiful. Oh
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: like that came out of nowhere. That movie is so
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: but character development, like I don't want to any spoil
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: is but stranger Things. Matt and I had a big
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: discussion before the show. I need a little bit more
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: information on one of the characters. I needed someone. I
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: went to my I had to go to my thirteen
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: year old son to to get like a little bit
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: of clarification. We can discuss happen. Okay, the same thing.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: I needed a little bit of Yeah, you know things
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: that eleven was remembering that weren't quite as they seemed
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: to see this. I think you should spoil I was thinking, no, no, no,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: I was thinking about it though. I think you would
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: like it. You it's enough eighties nostalgia. Oh yeah, I
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: think you would kind of get into the yearbook. Maybe
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: I can get started on Stranger Thing. All right, all right,
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: catch up, get get going, Get going on that. Tyler
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: and Nadik writes in I'm still relatively nude to New
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: England and would love to plan out a date to
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: the north end of Boston for an Italian dinner with
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: my wife? What would you all recommend as the best
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Italian restaurant on the North End for a date? Um?
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: Does pizza count as Italian because he needs to go
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: to Regina's Pizza? Okay, I think, you know, maybe though
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: he's thinking more romantic. But they're really I mean, you
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: cannot have. Yeah, you're not going a bad place. None
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: of those restaurants could afford to pay the runt if
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: they weren't good. Yeah, they're all phenomenal. Yeah, so yeah,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: just pick one. I did go to one. Carmelinez is
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: the one. I haven't been there a lot, but really good.
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: I had chicken parm from Carmelinez. I love Bacco on
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Salem Street. My apologies if I'm not pronouncing it right.
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: Bacco bacco, bacco bacco. It was bacco bacco, Bricoco, tritor
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: this one that begins with an A that I went
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: to it Roma, But it was really good. But they're
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: all good, Like you said, you know, I think half
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: the time I don't remember the name of the place
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: that they ate at. That's how good they all are.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: And it doesn't really matter. Yeah. The thing I got
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: a carmelinus. I've gotten it twice. I got it the same.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: It was like a little short rib a sausage and
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: a meat ball. Interesting like some racoda. It was Oh,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: if you umcamos well, he says, neither of us. Neither
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: of us eat seafood, so that wouldn't be a draw
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: for either of us. I did just go to I
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: did just go to Modern Pastry for the first time,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: and it was the Bee's Knees. I've heard some say
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: that Mike's Pastry down the road is better, and I
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: didn't know if it would be worth trying. When we
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: visit what's that's neither of those with neither of the
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: weight more towards Salem. If yeah, you got it. If
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: you don't want to wait, don't go there. I would
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: just like to say that I already know that that
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: grow up was going to be clipped and used in
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: the teas next in the next show. Ready, I like it. Also,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: Tyler says, do any of you have any specific directors
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: or producers that you would always be willing to watch
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: whatever shows or movies they made. Judd Apataw credits include
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Knocked Up, Freaks and Geeks and Forty Year Old Virgin
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: is mine and was just curious what Deuce thinks about
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Apataw Wait, I need to go first, Okay, go ahead,
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: anything Dick Wolf I'm watching, which is why, which is
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: why I have to watch like Chicago Pet, Chicago Fire,
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Chicago Men, Lawn Order, Like They're all produced by the
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: same Wolf person, which is why I love all of
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: them a lot of money. Yeah, Apatow liked I don't know,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: this is forty kind of lost me got a little
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: wat was just pumping out movies there. Yeah, we haven't
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: had a good run. What else have we had? I
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: think he has more Missus than he's. The classics are
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: so well forty year old Virgin, right, that was was
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: that all him? I know he's a Geeks was a
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: great show that was very short lived because no one
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: watched it. Now it's a cult classic. Yeah it was great.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: I mean years and look at what all those people
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: have done with their career years ago, and I do
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: stress years ago. Anything Woody Allen produced, I was in
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: for it. Yeah, and then all the hit the fan
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: and I can't stomach you know, the old old But
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: like before I knew all that stuff, Like anything he
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: directed wrote was in I was I was at the
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: movies watching. Do you guys all sort of think of movies?
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: You probably do just because you were in the industry,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: you know, you're a fat Yeah. Um, I don't really
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: want movies with the thought of oh, that's such and
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: such movie and it will you know. This is like
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: I don't think I'm just not smart enough to do that,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: like Ridley Scott, Like I like Ridley Scott stuff, Like
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: I know all the names. I don't necessary if you
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: told me, like, oh, name five move, I couldn't do it. Yeah,
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: but like I know he's obviously you know, Cameron and Scottie.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: I don't really think of it in those terms. Yeah.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: I really like Alexander Payne was one that, but I
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: don't know he's he's good. I like Cameron Crowe for
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: a while. Then he kind of lost me to you're
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: probably a Norman Lear guy. He came and talked to
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: one of my classes. Well, I mean he's still did
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: he have the little hat? Yes, yes he did, And
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: I was like, how old is this guy? Like he
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: was still coming around business stuff. I mean he was
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: on TV last year. Do you know who still Norman
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: Lear is still do so he like for a while
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: in the seventies and eighties, he was the guy producer.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: He was the Dick Wolf of sitcoms. Tamara, he did
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: All in the Family in Maud and The Jeffersons in Um.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: He was producing one show, hit hit show after another,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: normally kind of a precursor to Gary Marshall, who was
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: another one that we worked with, who just And there's
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: a great documentary about Gary Marshall and just he was
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: an I mean we did we did the ad Couple Redo,
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: So he was around a lot. And one time during
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: one of the shows we were taping, he got up
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: and just started talking to the audience like usually there's
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: a warm up person, and he just got up and
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: started telling like stories about old Hollywood. And you know
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: then and it was funny because I didn't have a
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: true I mean, I knew who he was, I knew
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: everything he had done. But then, like when you watched
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: the documentary and you realize, you know, he would have
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: like Laverne and Shirley, which was a spin off from
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: you know, a couple of characters that he just brought
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: in his sister into Happy Days, and you know, he
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: made a whole empire of just shows where like at
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: one point it was like all Garry Marshall shows where
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: he would just you know, and then like the executives
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: be like Gary Marshall walking, Hey, I got to this,
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: like great, that's yeah. And then and then the other
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: guy who was like one after another it was the
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: hour long kind of drama comedies. Steven Bochco, he was right,
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: that's the dick Wolf, you know, like Universe. I was
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: a big NYPD Blue fan. Yeah, it was a great one.
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, we talked about Bochko was big. And
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: then was it Stephen Cannell? Was he Hill Street Blues?
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: Initially I think yeah, I think Stephen Cannell was. He
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: was Fantasy Island and all those. Yeah, okay, he was
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: all those. I don't remember. I remember him as well. Yeah,
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: you watched a little bit of TV growing up, Well
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: I watched, Yeah, I watched a lot. But it used
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: to be so you know, four channel, three channels, you know,
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: and the same producers and same actors Tamara and Alex.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: You you missed out on this. But when we were kids,
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: every year in the fall, all the cartoons refreshed and
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: so they had new seasons or new cartoons, and they
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: would have a special on Friday night before the season
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: to introduce you to all the all the networks would
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: have these specials about all the new cartoons that are
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: gonna happened on Saturday morning. That definitely doesn't happen. Oh
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: my god, your head would explode when you're a kid,
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: like you know, because two cartoons would be on at
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: eleven o'clock in the morning and you had a pick
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: between which ones you're gonna watch. It was crazy. It
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: doesn't exist anymore than the Saturday morningtons. He's older than me,
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: because you don't remember Saturday morning cartoons. I remember Saturday
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: morning cartoons. I don't remember. I don't remember the review shows.
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: You don't remember the preview show. Oh I remember the
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: networks used to have little half hours previewing their season. Yeah,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: like talking about their new that's cos yeah, like you're
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: talking about cartoons, right, I don't have any recollection. Oh yeah,
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: just about the cartoons. Yeah, I don't remember that. It
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: was really it was huge, and you get up and
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: you'd be you'd be watching at eight o'clock in the
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: morning on Saturday. You have your cereal and you'd have
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: your whole lineup mapped out eight to eight thirty, and
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: I watched this eight thirty to nine. I'm gonna watch that.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: It would always cap off was saved by the bell.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: For us. That was like the I think, like the
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: ten eleven o'clock show Saturday Morning, but but they got
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: worse like by noon, it was like all your own
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: and then it was thrill a theater on chin. You know,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: I'm interested to see what type of cereal Fred was
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: eating back then. It was anything from Captain Crunch to
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: wheaties to just thinking about Captain Crunch makes the roof
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: of my mouth. What was your fault? Yeah? My favorite? UM.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: I liked Raisin Brand a lot. Sounds like an old person,
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: I know, but I like I like what you know,
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: frost I did not like UM. I like fruit loops,
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: I like frosted flakes. I did not like the one
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: with the marshmallows, hated Captain Crunch, and love Captain Crunch
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: is my favorite. Yeah, but I also really like I
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: don't know, I'm not a big cereal person. This is
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: a hot take because I don't like milk, like I
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: put just enough on my cereal or some people like
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: drown their serials. I let it sit. The other thing
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: was English muffins with butter and jelly. Oh yeah. I
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: also that was a breakfast of ours. I also like
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: honey nut cheer. They're so good. Yeah, sag them up
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't know if they had those
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: when I was a kid. They had chereos, but honey,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: they had honey. Not when I was a kid. Regular
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: chereals are gross. Yeah, I agree. You gotta put sugar one, right,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: which defeats the purpose. Yeah right. It's like, you know,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: when they just decided to drop all pretenses, they came
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: up with like cookie crisp. Right, we're just gonna like
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: feed our kids for breash sugar. They were, Oh, I
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: love cocoa pepples. Turn the milk to chocolate milk, fruity pebbles.
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: Get but I like fruity pebbles too. But if you
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: go so I had a method to avoid the saggy milk,
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: and you just very gradually put the milk in, you
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: eat soaked one, so you still got the crispy, and
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: then you keep going our milk you okay, no, I
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: need it all squishy. No, it's so much work, department,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: And then count count chocolate. You literally had chocolate milk
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: when you were done in the or cinnamon cinnamon toast.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: The bakery. What's the bougie bakery that sells cereal milk? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: there's one in Harvard Square. Yep, that's good. That's good.
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: Dereal killers in Vegas. We're gonna hit that up. Yeah,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: put it, start making a list for Vegas. Hopefully. Cereal
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: they are in LA They have like a Cereal bar
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: that you can go in and it's Cereal used to
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: be a most bigger part of my life and I
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: kind of miss it. Yeah, I don't know to eat
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: Cereal now maybe once we do special k with strawberries.
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: I used to substitute that as like a dinner and now,
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: oh my god. Sometimes you know, yeah, you don't feel
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: like having you don't feel like having a big dinner.
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: You're just thank God for that. I thank God for that.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: I know. I know. Sometimes they're like I just want
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: to get home sometimes and I want to put sweatpants
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: on and I want to eat Cereal. Does that make
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: me a ten year old? Maybe? But like sometimes that's
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: just what you need, right. I don't agree that you
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: and your tenure Cereal I'm gonna watch my Patriots and
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: I'll be fine. Oh my god, m Andrew Andrew in
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: La you know, I'm vaguely vague. I was surprised to
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: not hear the mention of Boondocks Saints when the discussion
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: of Boston movies came up last week. It made me
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: think on which performance was the best of these movies.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: I'd like everyone to rank these one, two, and three.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: Willem Dafoe in Boondocks Saints, Benefleck in the Town, and
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: Leo in The Departed. I didn't see Bondo Saints is
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: so god. I didn't see it, all right, so I'll
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: do it then, don't worry guys. Um Leo and the Departed,
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: then Boondocks Saints, then Affleck in the Town wall As
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: much as I love the Town, I could probably receipt
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: the movie. But he agrees with you. Um, he says well.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: According to IMDb, the rankings um when Departed, Boondocks Saints
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: and then the Town was Norman Das and that the
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: guy from walking down to see in the Thank You
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: Matt my foursome was scoffing at the Departed town bait
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: last week. Oh oh, everybody loves the Town. Yeah, well,
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: oh yeah, so much that just not liking to depart
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: it all that much? Really why because it was stupid?
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: What do you mean it was stupid? It was dumb?
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Why what was dumb about it? I'm the Nicholson category
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: character was so like over the top. Yeah. It wasn't
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: a good whitey like it was. It was just Nicholson
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: kind of cacature, you know, yeah, like I thought he was. Yeah,
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: maybe it was cousin Nicholson. Maybe that was the problem,
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: maybe because maybe it was because he was too much.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: I loved it because I usually loved Jack Nicholson and
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: anything he's in yea, even though I hated him as
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: he was a Laker fan. I mean, there was there
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: were some moments which I felt a little retread to
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: me um, specifically to Scorsese and some of his music.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: But I'm like, how don't I seem this hacking? But
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: I still liked it. And there's nothing I disliked as
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: much as The Town with John Hamm and U and
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: what's her face? Those two actors that just took me
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: out of Blake lively, Like every time they will have
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: a little bit more respect The next time you talk
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: about this the female love interest in the town just
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: didn't really move the needle for me either. I like
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: her her okay as an actress, but like she's okay,
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: yeah yeah, But but I think Jeremy Renner he was great.
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: He just every time he comes on screen. That's what like,
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: that's what gets me in is like those relates that
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: the relationship. Again make fun of me for it, but
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: it's it's that development, that strong bond between those two.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: Like to the Alex's point, yeah, like I don't you
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: said you didn't like the love interest, Like, yeah, I
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: kind of like it doesn't even really resonate with me.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: But the Renner athletic relationship was the that was not
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: like that in The Departed, you know, like that that
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: was to me the movie and then the whole thing.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: You know, you have you have the other guys that
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: are just sort of there and they're clearly that guy
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: that would absolutely take a bullet for you, you know
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: that that kind of loyalty. Yeah. Right, Um, let's see
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Jim is in Leminster. Um he said he was an
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: in person guest from twenty eighteen. Do we remember Jim
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: from Leminster? I don't know anyway, he says your dream
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: has come true. Fred. After hearing your soap box from
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: last week, I wanted to pass on that soap with
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: a slot is a real thing. I've used this. I've
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: used this soap for years and attached some pictures for reference.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: One is a new bar unfettered. One is the slot
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: in action from my shower with the box. As a
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: last attachment. I even took it upon myself to send
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: you a box of six bars for your cleansing glory.
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: The Kurse Spincter will experience a whole new world of
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: soap preservation and joy. And on another note, I'd love
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: to be involved in the upcoming Star Wars show in
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: any way, shape or form. That's funny. We gotta do it.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: So We're gonna get um soap with a slot and
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: I'll bring it in when I get it. Oh man,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: I'm just imagining what these pictures look like. Ye yeah, wow,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: what Fred sphincter. Oh no, here, it is an action.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: I don't want to see it. Put that thing away.
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: That's the slot right there. Lots of emails coming in.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: See it might be downtime for the Patriots, but it's
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: not down downtime for this show. I'll tell you that much.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Pat says, fred I was up prior to six am
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: on Saturday mornings as a kid. My cartoon and a
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: thon started with the Pink Panther at six am and
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: ended with Spider Man and his Amazing friends at eleven.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: So I wish I could remember what what they were.
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: They all kind of blend together because I remember I too,
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: and then with like the laugh Olympics and things, I
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: remember some duck tails too that I mean, they know
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: that we're getting a little bit into the tails, but
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: that's more, you know, duck tails. So Chris says, with
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: all this TV talk, I have to give you my
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: top five. Okay, Hawaii five. Oh, so the question is
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: new one or the old one? Jack Lord, The Walking Dead,
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: The League, Chicago pd and Friday Night Lights. I love
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: that Chicago PDS. In the mid Friday night Lights. There's
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: another tremendous show that nobody watched except for Beth and I. Yeah.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: That's good, um because it was on like seventeen different
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: times and nights. They just couldn't find an audience for it.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: No one watched it, but it was great. It was
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: a great show. Connie Britten and I would watch in
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: any of that like her. I mean, you know, now
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: you have to include things like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones.
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: Those are TV shows, Yeah, you know, the head seasons
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: and they had this guy just thought those other shows
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: were better or ever think of that. No, No, I'm
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: just saying, but like, you know, what about the comedies,
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: what about Seinfeld? You know it's hard. Well, you gotta
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: have a comedy and a drama category. It's appropably. I
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: liked The Walking Dead, but I fell out of it
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: after Nigan came in, and then I was completely fell
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: out of it. I was so into it the first
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: like four seasons I think, and then completely fell out
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: of it. I think a lot of people had a
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: similar kind of thing with The Walking Dead. But Game
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: of Thrones, I mean, that's that one's divisive, I know,
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: but I thought that that was really good everybody but
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: everybody likes Game of Thrones. Yeahs that have seen it. Yeah,
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: I can't complain. I mean I I just go back
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: to like everyone was so obsessed with what are the
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: theories and what could possibly and at the end of
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: the day, it's got to be something, and that's what
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: it was. It satisfied. There was a resolution. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: but it was like, you go through how many years
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: of telling this story and there's processes and then the
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: final season, Oh okay, so the dragon just flew all
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: the way there and rescued all those people within like
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: five minutes. This would have taken like this journey would
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: have taken two months. A lot of plot holes. Shame, Yeah, shame,
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: get and take shamed for that. Yeah, I love getting
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: But once they got ahead of the books, yeah, it
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: was like, what are we doing here? Yeah? Yeah, I agree.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: I mean I think that they did a pretty good
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: job of, you know, revealing who John Snow was and
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: and you know, I think it was an interesting turn
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: with Denaris kind of going from being like a hero
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: to you know, not really the hero and you know,
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: the torn feelings you had about her and right, and
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: then Circi and Jamie that how that ended. But don't
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: you think one of the best episodes ever was when
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: the King, you know, the young King, jumps out of
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: the window and the whole thing down, the whole sequence
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: of events. That episode was unbelievable. That was in the
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: last season, wasn't it or close to it? Close to it?
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: When she burns the Yeah, she just destroys the whole temple.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: But that's like another grade. Probably my favorite show. This
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: is coming from a place of it's one of my shows. Yeah,
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: just like that. You were disappointed with the finale, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: and I wish they didn't rush it. They got on
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: to do Star Wars and they stopped giving a crop,
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: and they butchered the ending so bad that Star Wars
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: didn't want him either. I think it was Star Wars
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: right that they were going to go work on after that.
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: Oh really, I didn't know this backstory. Yeah. Yeah, it's
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: one thing I really agree with fred On in general.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: I just think when you have like an incredibly successful
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: series like that, the finale becomes almost an impossible task. Yeah,
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: breaking bad at a good job, like Sopranos. I didn't
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: love Sopranos finale either. You know, I didn't watch Game
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: of Thrones, so I don't know on that one. But surprise,
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: it wasn't bad the Sopranos finale, but it left me
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: wanting more. Well, I'll tell you, and I don't like
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: that feeling. It was only a one season show, but
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: one of the most perfect endings, in my opinion, was
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: what sort of Easto of Eastwood. Yeah, and I didn't
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: like that. I see again, Yeah, we disagree. I think
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: that was a perfect man was the chest show that
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: was big during which Queen's Game end that really well too. Yeah,
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: but I think like the thing that connects it for me,
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: like a Game of Thrones had so many wow moments,
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: um the red wedding, hold the door right, just a couple,
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: but you had that character of Serse that was the
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: same as like Jeremy Renner in the town, the same
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: as um as uh what's his name in Rounders, Um,
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: Edward Norton, characters that you just hate so much. Yeah,
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: you know, and that's I think just the mark of
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: any good show that can get you to really feel
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: that passionately about a character. Were like Serse, you were
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: you know by that point, like when she had to
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: march to with shame shame like oh good, you know,
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: but you know you're not. She's gonna be bad, She's
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: gonna come back. Yeah. I thought one of the most
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: stunning scenes cinematography wise was when the mountain uh fought
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: dog his brother. Oh yeah, and you know half the
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: castle is cut away and the dragons are overhead and
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: they're fighting on the steps and they show that it's like, whoa,
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: I know it's all cgi, but like it looked amazing.
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: Yeah that was that was worthy of the build up. Um,
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: but yeah, they're there are just so many moments in
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Game of Thrones that I was like, Yeah, the ending
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: was like kind of basic. I guess you would call
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: it like just seemed like there was no kind of
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: like magic twists left that they could really go to.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: But um, but it was a great It was a
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: great series, And I mean I talked about it like
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: I've read some of the books, like like when I
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: read that Red Wedding chapter, I'd like, that was one
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: of the most impactful chapters I've read, which I don't
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: know what says the Game of Thrones, but you know
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: that was that they did a really good job with
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: that too. Uh, Anthony writes and agree with Deuce. Nothing
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: beats Saggy fruity or Coco pebbles, and Count Chocola is
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: the only good marshmallow cereal. As far as Boston movies,
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: my favorite is Gone Baby, Gone. Amy Ryan and Casey
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: of Fleck were great, and there's no love story on
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: the side to distract from the good stuff. Yeah, another
