Michigan nearly pulled off a coaching coup when they reached out to Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham—while he was out to dinner—with a serious offer, but he ultimately turned them down to stay and build at ASU. Dillingham, a respected Big 12 coach, acknowledged Michigan landed the right guy in Kyle Whittingham, who’s now set to lead the Wolverines after a stellar 21-season run at Utah with 177 wins.
