  Life doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes you think you're heading for a

  home run, and then life throws you a curve ball.

  Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Half-Faith, Let It Begin.

  I'm your host, Angel Santana, and today's message is one I think we can all relate to.

  Those unexpected turns that leave us asking, why?

  You know, I've had my fair share of curveballs.

  Moments where I thought I knew what God was doing. I had my plans, my timeless,
• 1:27
  well, I guess you can say my timelines, my expectations, and then out of nowhere,
• 1:35
  everything just changed.
• 1:37
  Maybe you've been there too. You lose a job or you thought maybe the job that
• 1:43
  you had was secure, so you lose your job and it just takes you by surprise.
• 1:49
  Or perhaps a relationship ends or has ended that you thought would last forever.
• 1:55
  Or life simply hits you with something you didn't see coming.
• 1:59
  And when it does, your first reaction is usually, God, why now and why this?

  Sound familiar from yesterday?

  I remember a time in my own life when I was chasing what I thought was my purpose.
• 2:17
  I was working long hours, multiple jobs, trying to build something stable.
• 2:22
  And I thought I had it all figured out. I was living in Providence,
• 2:26
  Rhode Island. I was living on my own.
• 2:28
  And then, out of nowhere, the door slammed shut.
• 2:33
  Actually, slammed to my face, to be more specific. And I understand it.
• 2:38
  I didn't. And I got angry.
• 2:41
  And I got frustrated. But looking back now It wasn't rejection I mean it felt like rejection,
• 2:49
  It was a redirection. You see, sometimes God doesn't remove something from your life to punish you.

  He redirects you to protect you.
• 2:59
  If you're thinking that he punishes you, you're just wrong.
• 3:05
  And I mean that. And I'm not trying to sound like I know it all, but it's the truth.

  God doesn't punish. You see, if that door hadn't closed, I wouldn't have started,
• 3:16
  have faith, let it begin.

  That curveball was the pitch that changed my life. Just to add a little baseball
• 3:23
  reference for you today. I know, Doctor, you would love it.

  You know, our spiritual version of this episode comes from Proverbs 3, verses 5-6.

  It says, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

  That means that even when life doesn't make sense, even when you can't see the why,

  God's still working behind the scenes He's
• 3:50
  setting up something that will make sense later Maybe the delay you're frustrated
• 3:56
  about is protecting you From something you can't see yet Maybe the no you heard

  was actually God saying Not yet, I've got better.

  Let me try to encourage you today. So today, if you're facing a curveball,

  whether it's a diagnosis, a detour, or a disappointment, don't give up your faith.

  The same God who allowed it will use it. So here's the truth.
• 4:27
  Faith doesn't mean you'll understand everything. It means you'll trust through everything.

  So keep your heart open. Keep your eyes on Him.

  Because when you swing at those curveballs and you swing at those curveballs
• 4:43
  of life with faith, you'll find God's fingerprints all over your story.

  And that's when you'll sit back and say, wait a second, let's just pray about it. So we will.

  Heavenly Father, thank you for being our guide. Even when life throws us in
• 5:02
  the direction that we don't expect.

  Oh, yeah. And we'll have plenty of those moments, don't we?

  Help us to trust your timing, even when it hurts.

  Remind us that your plans are greater than our plans. Your path leads to peace, not confusion.

  For anyone listening today who's in the middle of that storm,

  give them clarity, strength, and the courage to keep believing.

  So, let's leave on a high note. sometimes the curveball isn't there to strike you out.

  It's there to teach you how to trust. So as you head into your day,

  remember, sometimes those curveballs can turn into a straight fastball and you

  can knock it out of the park.

  So do that because you're home run material and because you matter.
