Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on, everybody. It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan.
- 0:15Speaker 2: We are continuing our Depth Chart Eagles Depth Chart podcast series,
- 0:19Speaker 2: and we moved wide receiver.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We've done quarterback, We've done running back.
- 0:23Speaker 2: This is going to be wide receiver and obviously a
- 0:26Speaker 2: lot of new names, a lot of a hierarchy to
- 0:29Speaker 2: discuss in this podcast and go inside roles and expectations
- 0:33Speaker 2: here in twenty twenty six. So look forward to going
- 0:36Speaker 2: through that with you, Adam. A real quick note, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 2: we were really had a great ask an Eagle for
- 0:45Speaker 2: our patreon folks this week. Marcus Smith, former Eagles first
- 0:49Speaker 2: round pick outside linebacker from the Chip Kelly era, joined
- 0:53Speaker 2: us shared his personal story. For those who don't know,
- 0:57Speaker 2: I mean yet, he came close to taking his own life.
- 1:00Speaker 1: He's been very open about that.
- 1:01Speaker 2: He now does a lot of work in the mental
- 1:04Speaker 2: health space with athletes and his Circle of Him foundation,
- 1:08Speaker 2: and he took a great time to talk to our
- 1:09Speaker 2: patreon members, answer their questions, talk to them both about
- 1:13Speaker 2: that and just his football career as we do these
- 1:16Speaker 2: Asking Eagle sessions for our patreon folks, and it was
- 1:18Speaker 2: really cool.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Adam for him to give his time to us and
- 1:21Speaker 1: come on and share his story.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and Dan and Eddy and others who asked questions
- 1:25Speaker 3: were great, and there was a story and I totally
- 1:28Speaker 3: forgot that he went to Louisville as a quarterback. Yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 3: well this is the one that I mean, you could
- 1:33Speaker 3: push me over with a feather when he said, I
- 1:35Speaker 3: asked him, well did who kind of went up to
- 1:38Speaker 3: you and said, hey, you know what, dude, you're not
- 1:40Speaker 3: going to make it as a quarterback. I'm not going
- 1:42Speaker 3: to give it away who did, but it was stunning
- 1:45Speaker 3: to me who it was. Just it was just interesting.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I didnt even know this coach was there then when
- 1:49Speaker 3: he was there at Louisville. Yeah, there's a certain Eagles tie.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I'm not going to give it away, but it's a
- 1:55Speaker 3: really cool story. He's doing phenomenal work. In fact, he's
- 1:58Speaker 3: going back to school, he's getting you know, he's he's
- 2:03Speaker 3: going to be a clinician so he could continue to
- 2:05Speaker 3: work more with people. And also he's working with a
- 2:08Speaker 3: couple teams already, so he's he's just he's got a
- 2:12Speaker 3: great perspective.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And you know that the Seahawks story was great with
- 2:15Speaker 3: Pete Carol Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner. Just amazing, amazing
- 2:20Speaker 3: turn around it. He's made his life and all power
- 2:22Speaker 3: to him for doing it.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I know it was a great experience, great for
- 2:25Speaker 2: our Patreon crowd. I don't again, I say this a lot.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I don't know who's if anybody else. I don't think
- 2:31Speaker 2: anybody else is doing what we do, which is give
- 2:33Speaker 2: chance for actual listeners, viewers, subscribers to have conversations, to
- 2:39Speaker 2: have their questions asked, to tell stories and hear stories
- 2:43Speaker 2: directly in a chat room with former Eagles coaches, players
- 2:46Speaker 2: and front office executives, and then even Greg Cosell on
- 2:50Speaker 2: ask Greg Cosell. So another great reason to be a
- 2:52Speaker 2: Patreon member. It's patreon dot com slash inside the Birds,
- 2:57Speaker 2: all right, So wide receivers, do we do the hierarchy
- 3:01Speaker 2: with aj Brown or without just kidding.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Without what we'll do it without? Yes, exactly, So you're
- 3:07Speaker 3: you're ex receivers. So the way I understand this offense
- 3:12Speaker 3: and a big reason why they drafted mkayle Lemon, it's
- 3:14Speaker 3: it's it's the same reason the Steelers want him Kaye Lemon.
- 3:18Speaker 3: The Steelers Mike McCarthy wasn't his call, but he let
- 3:21Speaker 3: their personnel staff know, Hey, listen, I my two outside
- 3:25Speaker 3: receivers don't really play inside like you can't really run
- 3:28Speaker 3: this offense without a slot receiver. H So that's that's
- 3:33Speaker 3: a big deal. So we'll get to mkaye Lemon. I
- 3:35Speaker 3: just want people to understand that this offense is gonna
- 3:38Speaker 3: be a lot of eleven personnel, some twelve obviously to accommodate.
- 3:41Speaker 3: He lit stours when they think he's ready to go
- 3:43Speaker 3: on the field, Grand Cockatra obviously, who's as a move
- 3:46Speaker 3: tight end and God, he could do everything, but your
- 3:49Speaker 3: ex receivers are are Wicks, Hollywood, Brown can do that.
- 3:56Speaker 3: He's not he doesn't have the body type, but he's
- 3:58Speaker 3: played the exposition. He can do it. He can play
- 4:01Speaker 3: the move position, which is the Z. But the exes
- 4:04Speaker 3: will be don Tevan Wicks, Johnny Wilson. If he's able
- 4:08Speaker 3: to run, he'll do some of that.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yep.
- 4:11Speaker 3: The disease, which is DeVante Smith's position will be Smith,
- 4:16Speaker 3: m Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore if he's if he's with
- 4:20Speaker 3: them the summer, if he gets there, if he does
- 4:23Speaker 3: well enough to get to training, camp and you're and
- 4:25Speaker 3: the slots will be Lemon Smith has played it, he
- 4:30Speaker 3: can do it, and Elijah Moore and that's now as
- 4:36Speaker 3: we understand it. Wix can play all three positions. He's
- 4:39Speaker 3: not a slot receiver, but you can line him up
- 4:40Speaker 3: as a vertical slot to use the size and leverage.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yep. So they have it.
- 4:47Speaker 3: They have what it looks like conceptually. They just have
- 4:51Speaker 3: to get it together, get their timing down. And this
- 4:53Speaker 3: is a this is by the way, this is a
- 4:55Speaker 3: big challenge for Aaron moorehead. They're a receivers coach.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Mhm.
- 5:00Speaker 3: This is a big it's a big challenge for him
- 5:01Speaker 3: because they're going to run a new offense. You're completely
- 5:04Speaker 3: new offensive scheme and thought process and personnel groupings and
- 5:08Speaker 3: it's all got to work and there's a lot of
- 5:09Speaker 3: pressure on him to handle it.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I would also add that I think with the new
- 5:14Speaker 2: play caller Seawan Man in New OC to come up
- 5:17Speaker 2: without having Aj Brown, who is as pure of an
- 5:21Speaker 2: X and you want him playing one hundred percent of
- 5:23Speaker 2: your X snaps as there are. As you're mentioning, they
- 5:25Speaker 2: have guys who can play X like Wicks and maybe
- 5:28Speaker 2: even Johnny Wilson. He will be an interesting one to
- 5:31Speaker 2: keep an eye on right because in the old offense
- 5:33Speaker 2: in his one year, his rookie year, they saw him
- 5:36Speaker 2: more as a power slot. We used to joke he
- 5:38Speaker 2: was really a tight end. The way he was used,
- 5:41Speaker 2: he was kind of a blocking wide receiver. But if
- 5:43Speaker 2: they can unlock some first of all, if he can
- 5:45Speaker 2: come back healthy. It was a pretty gruesome injury. If
- 5:48Speaker 2: he comes back healthy and is productive, can they move
- 5:51Speaker 2: him around and get some X usage out of him.
- 5:54Speaker 2: He was an outside receiver mostly at Florida State. He
- 5:57Speaker 2: did do some inside, But if they can do that Adam,
- 6:01Speaker 2: that betters his chance to make the team and makes
- 6:03Speaker 2: it tougher on someone like Elijah Moore.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Who as a fourth or fifth receiver.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Does not have special teams acumen the way Johnny Wilson
- 6:11Speaker 2: does well.
- 6:12Speaker 3: The thing is they're gonna they're gonna still run the
- 6:14Speaker 3: ball a lot, and you gotta be able to block
- 6:16Speaker 3: it at the sheer position. And that's that's a Johnny
- 6:19Speaker 3: Wilson has one thing that he does well. He can block.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It's why he's in the NFL. We'll see how healthy
- 6:25Speaker 3: is and when we got a chance to look at
- 6:27Speaker 3: him in OTA's and what he's allowed to do. But
- 6:30Speaker 3: what they really missed him a lot more than we
- 6:32Speaker 3: probably anticipated after he got hurt. They really could have
- 6:34Speaker 3: used him. But you see how healthy is.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I'm also curious to see where DeVante Smith as a
- 6:41Speaker 2: wide receiver one now fits in.
- 6:43Speaker 1: He's your number one receiver.
- 6:45Speaker 2: He commonly lines up in the zero of the slot,
- 6:47Speaker 2: so he's commonly to the right of Jalen Hurts.
- 6:51Speaker 1: But he can play the acts.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I mean, you don't want him taking too much jamming
- 6:56Speaker 2: at the line of scrimmage, but he's good enough to
- 6:59Speaker 2: evade a jam and to get over the top of
- 7:01Speaker 2: a corner, so there could be opportunities to get him
- 7:04Speaker 2: at the.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Ex position as well.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Every once in a while they would put DeShawn Jackson
- 7:07Speaker 2: out there because they knew even if he got pressed,
- 7:10Speaker 2: if he could get away from it, then there was
- 7:12Speaker 2: no shot.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That corner had no shot to catch up to the Shawn.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So you would see the Sean lineup occasionally at the
- 7:18Speaker 2: X and make a play down the field, not often.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I think Tampa actually did it when he was with Tampa.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Was it monk in Oc because I remember he played
- 7:25Speaker 2: the x more there.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I think he did right. And by the way, Lemmit
- 7:28Speaker 3: could also play Hell play the Z as well. But
- 7:31Speaker 3: his primary position is going to be the slot and
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's every team saw him like that, Like that's got
- 7:37Speaker 3: to be his position because he is so strong for
- 7:41Speaker 3: a smaller guy like I can't wait to see the
- 7:46Speaker 3: battles in mandatory camp is when you can get a
- 7:49Speaker 3: little bit more physical and obviously in training camp and
- 7:52Speaker 3: how and how Vic handles it nice, you know, that's
- 7:56Speaker 3: where Cooper Degene lines up a lot inside YEP. I
- 8:00Speaker 3: look forward to seeing that one. That'll be fun one.
- 8:02Speaker 3: There's it's gonna look different. We haven't seen anything since
- 8:05Speaker 3: we've done the show nine years. We really have not
- 8:07Speaker 3: seen anything like this in terms of deployment. And the
- 8:11Speaker 3: other thing is, and we'll get to the tight end
- 8:12Speaker 3: to the next show, but they've got all sorts of
- 8:15Speaker 3: possibilities to tight ending this offense conceptually could look really
- 8:19Speaker 3: interesting going forward.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Right, right, So the top four guys are pretty clear,
- 8:24Speaker 2: it's just how do the snaps go. DeVante Smith is
- 8:27Speaker 2: number one, Lemon two, and then you've got Dontavian Wicks three,
- 8:31Speaker 2: Hollywood Brown four in some kind of order. You know, obviously, Hollywood,
- 8:35Speaker 2: Brown and Wix are different kinds of receivers and do
- 8:38Speaker 2: things differently. And of course, as we mentioned all the time, Adam,
- 8:41Speaker 2: there's gonna be a lot of twelve personnel, so there'll
- 8:42Speaker 2: be a time that only three wide receivers are on
- 8:45Speaker 2: the field. There'll be a time only two wide receivers
- 8:47Speaker 2: and two tight ends will be on the field. So
- 8:50Speaker 2: your number three or four receiver in this offense may
- 8:53Speaker 2: not be used as much as a number three receiver
- 8:55Speaker 2: in more of an eleven personnel heavy offense.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So that'll be interesting to see.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Five and six is kind of a pretty interesting race
- 9:04Speaker 2: because you've got Darius Cooper, who was really impressive last
- 9:08Speaker 2: year as a rookie free agent wide receiver. You talked
- 9:10Speaker 2: about Eli Moore, Johnny Wilson coming back from the injury,
- 9:13Speaker 2: Danny Gray who can't stay healthy, but when he's healthy,
- 9:16Speaker 2: has that speed.
- 9:17Speaker 3: But he's got about and we don't do percenters usually,
- 9:22Speaker 3: but he's got a one percent chance to make it.
- 9:23Speaker 3: He just can run. He's been an injury train wreck,
- 9:26Speaker 3: but he can run. He can run, and so Qus Watkins,
- 9:29Speaker 3: it's unbelievable. He's still he's back again. Most people even
- 9:33Speaker 3: know that, but he's back. So yeah, the when when
- 9:36Speaker 3: they go eleven, Wix is almost certain to be in there,
- 9:40Speaker 3: like their base offense. If they're going, if they're if
- 9:42Speaker 3: they're if they open up in twelve, more often than
- 9:45Speaker 3: not will be Smith and Lemon, assuming Lemon's ready, assuming
- 9:48Speaker 3: he's a good train kit metal, he's picking everything up,
- 9:51Speaker 3: good call. And then when they go to eleven, Wix
- 9:54Speaker 3: is in there as the ex Smith is his a
- 9:58Speaker 3: Lemons a slot or vice versa. You could you could
- 10:00Speaker 3: reverse that by the way you have that got the
- 10:02Speaker 3: possibility to do it. They can go with the speeds
- 10:04Speaker 3: package of Brown Smitty and Wix is not fast, but
- 10:11Speaker 3: he's big. He gives you something and I'll let you
- 10:14Speaker 3: I'll tell you what I know. Elijah Moore, it's been
- 10:16Speaker 3: really tough going from recent years. The guy can run.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I'm interesting to see how he looks. I know he's
- 10:21Speaker 3: a long shot, but the guy, it's not like he's
- 10:26Speaker 3: thirty years old, you know.
- 10:27Speaker 2: True, true, I just you know, we always go back
- 10:30Speaker 2: to if you're not contributing on special teams, then you
- 10:32Speaker 2: have to be a top three receiver. And it's hard
- 10:34Speaker 2: to see a pathway to him being a.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I know it's tough because tis always go to special teams.
- 10:40Speaker 3: He's he just turned twenty six in March. You know.
- 10:44Speaker 2: So do you think any of the top four that
- 10:47Speaker 2: we discussed could be somebody that is one of those surprise?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I guess what I'm getting at is, let's say Darius
- 10:54Speaker 2: Cooper makes a really big jump. They love what they
- 10:57Speaker 2: see out of him in training camp and it's not
- 10:58Speaker 2: far fat. He had a really good training camp last year.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Is the best receiver at training camp last Yeah?
- 11:05Speaker 1: Absolutely? Would Could that possibly kick a one year? Could
- 11:10Speaker 1: it possibly kick Mark He's Brown off the off.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Five million? Guaranteed? He would have to be so bad?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, remember.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Huh with Devin White, I mean he it was not good,
- 11:25Speaker 3: but it got really bad late and late in August
- 11:28Speaker 3: for him that three years ago, and so they didn't
- 11:31Speaker 3: cut him. Then he asked for his release, so they
- 11:35Speaker 3: agreed to a reduced salary to get off the roster.
- 11:38Speaker 3: He Hollywood Brown could fly. There are reasons, as we
- 11:43Speaker 3: understand it. Why is yards per catch averages and higher
- 11:47Speaker 3: timing with mahomes, which is by the way, it's something
- 11:51Speaker 3: we've harped on and not enough though. The receivers have
- 11:53Speaker 3: to other than Smitty I. J. Brown didn't do a
- 11:56Speaker 3: good enough job. The receivers have to help Hurse out
- 11:58Speaker 3: come back to the football. So drill man, this is coaching.
- 12:02Speaker 3: It's it's inexcusable how many times hurt scrambles around, pocket
- 12:08Speaker 3: breaks down, help him come back to the football. It's
- 12:11Speaker 3: just it's one of the things that really bothers me
- 12:14Speaker 3: is like you watch Mahomes. They all do it. They
- 12:17Speaker 3: know the way he plays, they know how to do it.
- 12:19Speaker 3: It's not like Hurts doesn't do it.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah no, yeah, no, I agree. We complained about that
- 12:24Speaker 2: a lot last year. So to your point, though, the
- 12:26Speaker 2: finances alone, and this is why the contracts, as you
- 12:29Speaker 2: said in our first episode about quarterbacks, they matter and
- 12:33Speaker 2: they help you figure out the picture.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So your top four are set.
- 12:37Speaker 2: If under my scenario, Cooper just balls out again and
- 12:41Speaker 2: they really like him, he could be your number five. Okay,
- 12:44Speaker 2: Then it comes down to if you're the Eagles, are
- 12:47Speaker 2: you keeping a sixth?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Is that six your punt returner? Does that make Britain Covey? Yes?
- 12:52Speaker 2: And for the equation over a Johnny Wilson or an
- 12:55Speaker 2: Eli Moore, or any great question.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Honestly, it's this is be the toughest. Didn't Andrew do
- 13:03Speaker 3: for Dalidrchuko is way too early? Fifty three? Yes, I
- 13:07Speaker 3: have to hear it because I don't know how you
- 13:10Speaker 3: get like unless somebody gets hurt, you know how he
- 13:14Speaker 3: like he?
- 13:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 13:15Speaker 3: On the offensive line, they've got four development offensive line
- 13:18Speaker 3: and they're gonna be on the roster bar and something
- 13:20Speaker 3: highly unforeseen, right plus Fred Johnson that's ten.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Oh, I'm married to a they're keeping eleven offensive line, right,
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't even anyway around it.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and and and and look they've got four quarterbacks.
- 13:32Speaker 1: You got to go light somewhere.
- 13:34Speaker 3: You got Yeah, you can't keep everybody. Man, It's it's
- 13:36Speaker 3: it's uh, it's tough. It's gonna be real tough. Safety
- 13:39Speaker 3: is a kind of a quagmire because of the uh
- 13:42Speaker 3: it's such a there's so much gray area with safety
- 13:46Speaker 3: rather than mccouba, you know they I mean, I wouldn't
- 13:49Speaker 3: surprise me if they only went three there, because sure
- 13:54Speaker 3: certainly no more than four. It's tough.
- 13:55Speaker 4: You don't need six receivers, by the way, you can
- 13:58Speaker 4: use you can get covey on the practice squad for
- 14:00Speaker 4: three weeks and then you can get another punt returner
- 14:02Speaker 4: if you if you're not or or Marquise Brown, which
- 14:05Speaker 4: you should be, but if you're not, then you can
- 14:07Speaker 4: get you can get Bye on it.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's I'm looking to see if Covey is vested,
- 14:12Speaker 3: because yeah, might be vested. I'm not sure because he
- 14:18Speaker 3: If he is, then he would be subject to waivers,
- 14:20Speaker 3: the easier to get in the practice squad. But yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 3: so to move this along here, they've got the exposition
- 14:27Speaker 3: is is is Wix, particularly when they go eleven personality,
- 14:31Speaker 3: He's almost certain to be the ex They got plenty
- 14:34Speaker 3: of ease, they got plenty of slots, but the big
- 14:37Speaker 3: one is Lemon first time, and I don't know how
- 14:40Speaker 3: long they have a true slot receiver like he's That's
- 14:44Speaker 3: where he's going to roam. That's where he's going to
- 14:46Speaker 3: dominate again. I'm looking really forward to the offseason pro
- 14:50Speaker 3: game when they're allowed to have competition, seeing how vic
- 14:56Speaker 3: Fandrew decides to cover on it. What Kyle Lemon?
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, the YouTube folks just saw me throw my fists
- 15:04Speaker 2: in the air because I've been the biggest slot wide
- 15:06Speaker 2: out cheerleader that there ever, was like they need a
- 15:10Speaker 2: slot wide out and they absolutely have somebody who can
- 15:12Speaker 2: play the slot. Before we get out of here, I
- 15:14Speaker 2: also think they have some real We talked about what
- 15:16Speaker 2: eleven personnel versus twelve personnel could look like. Right, they
- 15:20Speaker 2: can even and they probably will have a different red
- 15:24Speaker 2: zone eleven and twelve personnel.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You get your bigger guys out there.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I mean, if Johnny Wilson makes the team, then he's
- 15:31Speaker 2: a guy you can see them throwing on the outside
- 15:33Speaker 2: in the inside the red zone, throw the fade ball
- 15:35Speaker 2: to because of his height.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What is he sixty six right?
- 15:38Speaker 3: Six six six six plus yep six six.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you can do that.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And then in twelve personnel he can be one of
- 15:45Speaker 2: two receivers. Eleven you can have that slot receiver. You
- 15:47Speaker 2: can move Wix like you said, or anyone who's got
- 15:51Speaker 2: some height in there.
- 15:52Speaker 1: To the slot and cause a little bit mismatched. So uh,
- 15:56Speaker 1: this has been the.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Most optionality that the Eagles have had from top to
- 16:01Speaker 2: bottom at wide receiver in at least three years. I mean,
- 16:04Speaker 2: they just have not had great depth there. And I'm
- 16:06Speaker 2: not saying they have great depth. What I'm saying is
- 16:09Speaker 2: they have players who can play at the three, four
- 16:11Speaker 2: and five spots that they can use, and they haven't
- 16:14Speaker 2: been able to do that in quite a while. Hey,
- 16:16Speaker 2: Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic, long lines,
- 16:21Speaker 2: We've all been there, But when it comes to your cannabis,

- 17:08Speaker 2: inn Apothecary top quality cannabis, great prices, and an experience
- 17:12Speaker 2: made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 17:15Speaker 3: All right when they go to their speed package. Speed
- 17:18Speaker 3: package nice, so Eli Stowers, absolutely, we'll be able to
- 17:22Speaker 3: play X well when he knows what he's doing. That's
- 17:24Speaker 3: exactly where they'll put them. Good point because they they
- 17:27Speaker 3: actually did it with Earth some Greg pointing it out
- 17:29Speaker 3: to us Greco so many many years ago. They've done
- 17:32Speaker 3: it with Goddard one three. Yeah, it's very typical and
- 17:37Speaker 3: Stowers could flat out fly. So yeah, you could figure
- 17:40Speaker 3: out as long as Stwars knows what he's doing, you
- 17:41Speaker 3: could get him on the field early. I mean, he's
- 17:43Speaker 3: not gonna play a ton of snaps as a rookie
- 17:45Speaker 3: h but yeah, you could get him on the package.
- 17:47Speaker 3: They absolutely could have a speed package. There's you and
- 17:50Speaker 3: I are seeing this the same way. They have so
- 17:53Speaker 3: much versatility to this offense. They apps have to put
- 17:57Speaker 3: it together. Guys have to know what they're doing. It
- 18:00Speaker 3: may not look great all the time, particularly in their
- 18:03Speaker 3: off season program because they're installing a brand new scheme
- 18:06Speaker 3: which you've not run anything close to this before. But
- 18:09Speaker 3: the optionality with all these receivers and what they can
- 18:12Speaker 3: do and tight ends and what they could do got
- 18:15Speaker 3: We'll talk about this on the ten Ends show. But
- 18:16Speaker 3: God could do various positions of the ten, he plays
- 18:19Speaker 3: all three of them. Ut Ours Stours has to learn it.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Johnny Munt, You know, is your is your is your
- 18:25Speaker 3: wide tight end, and then you've got the ability to
- 18:29Speaker 3: spread everybody out with this deep group. I'm looking forward
- 18:32Speaker 3: to this, man, this is This could be really interesting.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm glad you. To be clear, I'm not
- 18:37Speaker 2: predicting everybody's making the Pro Bowl. I'm just saying that
- 18:39Speaker 2: for a new offense. The objective was pretty clear in
- 18:42Speaker 2: the offseason. Get a new offense and then get enough
- 18:45Speaker 2: pieces to make the offense work. I mean, the old
- 18:47Speaker 2: way of just having one or two guys who are
- 18:50Speaker 2: gonna feature and run a bunch of hit routs is
- 18:52Speaker 2: not going to be the case anymore. And even some
- 18:54Speaker 2: of this X Y flex stuff we're talking about will
- 18:57Speaker 2: go a little bit by the wayside because you'll see
- 19:00Speaker 2: dense formations. You'll see bunch and trip formations, and you
- 19:03Speaker 2: won't even know the exill change post snap because guys
- 19:06Speaker 2: will motion and.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Things of that nature. So that's a space creation type.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Of offense and I'm looking forward to that part of
- 19:13Speaker 2: it too, because that will be unique to the offense
- 19:15Speaker 2: as well.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's versatility and positional versatility. It's gonna look different.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Can't wait to see it when the veterans come in.
- 19:25Speaker 3: That's really when things start heating up. Rookie camps. I'm
- 19:29Speaker 3: gonna cover them for over two decades. Nothing, it's nothing,
- 19:32Speaker 3: there's nothing, nothing exact. What I like to find out
- 19:36Speaker 3: is anyone really behind mentally though, That stuff matters because
- 19:38Speaker 3: they're when you when you call around the league go yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 3: he's he's a ways away, like you can hear in
- 19:44Speaker 3: coaches voices sometimes when guys you're just not there yet,
- 19:47Speaker 3: But looking forward to talking to that in the next show.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Tight End, it's gonna be fascinating.
- 19:50Speaker 2: All right, tight End and an offensive line after that
- 19:52Speaker 2: will finish out the offense. That is it for our
- 19:55Speaker 2: look at the wide receiver depth chart, and that's gonna
- 19:57Speaker 2: be it for Inside the Birds the Leading and Eagles Intel,
- 20:01Speaker 2: and as always, way thank you for flying with us
