- 0:28Speaker 2: to have any kind of yeah, kind of driving that's
- 0:32Speaker 2: crazy out there, any of that rage driving. You don't
- 0:34Speaker 2: need to be doing that. But anyway, Matthew Childress is
- 0:37Speaker 2: with me this morning. Matthew, are you okay? I'm good?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Are you? Yeah? I walked in here and I said hello,
- 0:43Speaker 2: and you just kind of kept walking. Yeah, I'm good,
- 0:45Speaker 2: I said hello, Michael. I know you did. But you know,
- 0:48Speaker 2: normally people would stop and say hello, it's good to
- 0:50Speaker 2: see you, how was your day yesterday? Anything like that.
- 0:54Speaker 2: You just keep walking Hello, Okay, good to see it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Go I too. Oh is that what it is? Yes?
- 0:59Speaker 2: But you weren't walking towards the bathroom though.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I was walking in to put some stuff down in
- 1:03Speaker 3: here and then go to the bathroom.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then, well thank you for that tid
- 1:06Speaker 2: bit of information. Everybody. You didn't seem to be a
- 1:11Speaker 2: rush You were just kind of walking by there. I
- 1:12Speaker 2: was gonna rush by you and you walked in. Okay,
- 1:14Speaker 2: all right, then, well you could have come back in
- 1:16Speaker 2: and said good morning. It just it's just, you know,
- 1:19Speaker 2: be a little pleasant to me. Sorry, that's it. Sorry,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I mean, okay, nothing, there's absolutely nothing you can do.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I just want you to wake up, have a little fun,
- 1:32Speaker 2: and then you can go back to sleep the next
- 1:34Speaker 2: Uh what ten o'clock? You can go back to sleep
- 1:35Speaker 2: ten o'clock? Okay, all right, yeah, that's when you wake
- 1:38Speaker 2: up right now. But then you'll be okay a little later.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But uh, did you have Yeah, you had a late
- 1:43Speaker 2: nice list? You're already yawning. Did you have a late night?
- 1:46Speaker 2: You know, five in the morning. I'm gonna yell, yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 2: how it is? I've been up since uh four thirty?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Come on, man, you also go to bed at like
- 1:53Speaker 2: seven pm. I don't go to bed at seven pm.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I did not have ray late night. You did not
- 2:02Speaker 2: actually slept pretty well? Are you by yourself? By the way,
- 2:06Speaker 2: is Paulina already living down there?
- 2:08Speaker 1: No?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Or she's up here? She moves at the same time.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I do. Okay, good, all right, then well U five
- 2:13Speaker 2: O two three four fourteen fifty. You want to call
- 2:15Speaker 2: in fave O two four one four fourteen fifty. You
- 2:17Speaker 2: want to text in on the Whiskey te text line,
- 2:19Speaker 2: or you can tweet me at just SCAT Radio. Or
- 2:21Speaker 2: you can watch us on YouTube at what's it called
- 2:26Speaker 2: Big X Sports Radio Louisville, and you can see us
- 2:29Speaker 2: on YouTube. Is anybody on YouTube by the way right now?
- 2:33Speaker 2: One person? One person? Okay, hello, one person, Good to
- 2:35Speaker 2: see you. I wish I knew their names and I
- 2:38Speaker 2: could say, actually what their names are there and say
- 2:40Speaker 2: hello to you on YouTube? But yeah, you can. I
- 2:43Speaker 2: am amazed that people watch this. I don't know why
- 2:46Speaker 2: you do. But you know, if you'd like to explain
- 2:48Speaker 2: why you like to watch it on YouTube instead of
- 2:50Speaker 2: listening to it on your computer, your radio or something else,
- 2:53Speaker 2: do you have an explanation for that? I mean, I
- 2:56Speaker 2: just like to see it. I guess. I guess. So
- 2:58Speaker 2: they're probably a tra not attracted to me. They have
- 3:01Speaker 2: to be attracted to you. That's probably what it is. Yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 2: exactly as you got your little King's hat on, looking
- 3:07Speaker 2: real sporty over there.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I got you. I gotta represent you
- 3:10Speaker 3: should represent you got your show this afternoon. Right, Well no,
- 3:15Speaker 3: oh no, we don't have that show anymore. Oh sorry,
- 3:18Speaker 3: we still do it, but we just do it like
- 3:21Speaker 3: from home and it's just over YouTube.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Now, well, then still plug it.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Well, I mean it's just it's not like on air anymore,
- 3:28Speaker 3: so like yeah, we still technically have it, but like, well.
- 3:31Speaker 2: People can go out and listen to it, right, yes, okay,
- 3:35Speaker 2: then you should. I'm giving you then opportunity to plug
- 3:38Speaker 2: it on this show. And you don't want to say anything.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't care if it's not on this radio station anymore.
- 3:44Speaker 2: You're still doing it and that's what matters the most.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We'll do the Three Man Front tonight for six to
- 3:48Speaker 3: six thirty. It'll be on the be on the Real
- 3:50Speaker 3: Spill YouTube page. It's be on the What the Real
- 3:53Speaker 3: Spiel YouTube page is Roman Kelly's YouTube page where he
- 3:58Speaker 3: does what he does all of his shows. Roman has
- 4:02Speaker 3: a bunch of shows on YouTube.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, like podcast shows and stuff like that. I didn't
- 4:06Speaker 2: know that. What did he What does he talk about?
- 4:08Speaker 2: He has an NBA show. He has a friend who
- 4:10Speaker 2: does college football.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Wow, his friend Will Wilkinson and I talk college basketball
- 4:16Speaker 3: throughout the season.
- 4:17Speaker 2: That's fun that y'all do that. I like that you
- 4:20Speaker 2: do that. See, I'm trying to talk Dale Romans. Do
- 4:23Speaker 2: you know who Dale Romans is? I know the name. Okay,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Dale Romans is a very successful, longtime horse trainer here
- 4:31Speaker 2: in Louisville. I am trying to convince him to do
- 4:34Speaker 2: a YouTube a show with me. What do you call that?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Is that still a podcast even though it's on YouTube? Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 2: technically still it is okay because you're only watching it
- 4:45Speaker 2: on YouTube. Is that fair? Yeah, you're not watching it
- 4:48Speaker 2: on any other platform. It can't go Like if I
- 4:50Speaker 2: bought all the equipment to do a podcast, you can't
- 4:52Speaker 2: put that. You can put all that stuff on Spotify,
- 4:56Speaker 2: iTunes and all that kind of stuff. When you do
- 4:58Speaker 2: it through YouTube, you can't put it on that kind
- 5:00Speaker 2: of stuff, can you. Yeah you can? Oh you can. Yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 3: You just take the audio off of it. Take the
- 5:05Speaker 3: audio off of it, like you just record the audio.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Either you read the video. Yeah, either you can record
- 5:10Speaker 3: like it's separately so you just have one file for it,
- 5:13Speaker 3: or there are like stream platforms will record the audio
- 5:15Speaker 3: for you.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Is YouTube becoming more and more popular for podcasts? Sometimes
- 5:22Speaker 2: not really.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah, like, like, there are definitely some podcasts that will
- 5:26Speaker 3: have video all the time, so like I think the
- 5:28Speaker 3: most popular one is probably like Joe Rogan podcast. His
- 5:31Speaker 3: is always recorded, so you can listen to his over
- 5:34Speaker 3: podcast or on YouTube. He's got a partnership with like
- 5:37Speaker 3: Spotify or something, so like they put his YouTube videos
- 5:39Speaker 3: on Spotify. You can watch them on can you really? Yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 3: you can watch them on Spotify. Interesting, but I didn't
- 5:45Speaker 3: realize that. But yeah, it's not like i'd say it's
- 5:49Speaker 3: more popular still over like audio than it isn't.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yeah, I'm going to need help. But if
- 5:55Speaker 2: there's somebody out there that wants to help me put
- 5:56Speaker 2: this together, I would appreciate it. But uh, I I
- 6:00Speaker 2: do want to do something with Dale. I think it
- 6:02Speaker 2: would be fun. You could talk horse racing, talk about
- 6:05Speaker 2: his horses, and then you could talk about amongst other things,
- 6:08Speaker 2: because he's got an unbelievable amount of stories outside of
- 6:14Speaker 2: horse racing, just his experiences. Like for instance, Derby Week
- 6:18Speaker 2: he talked about Pete Rose. He's got all kinds of
- 6:20Speaker 2: stories about Rick Patino and just he knows who's who
- 6:25Speaker 2: across this country. You know, people say, I know a
- 6:27Speaker 2: lot of people. He knows a thousand times more people
- 6:29Speaker 2: than me, and I think it would be fun because
- 6:31Speaker 2: he's funny. He is one funny guy. But and I
- 6:35Speaker 2: don't think he gets enough credit for that, plus the
- 6:37Speaker 2: success in horse racing. Now, did you watch the ball
- 6:40Speaker 2: game last night between the Knicks and the Spurs.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I watched the fourth quarter, that's all you watched. Yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 3: I was hanging out with Paul and her family. Oh
- 6:48Speaker 3: so that therefore you don't get to watch basketball. I
- 6:51Speaker 3: mean I was hanging out with their family. Yeah, though,
- 6:55Speaker 3: big deal. If I'm hanging out with my wife's family,
- 6:58Speaker 3: I'm watching basketball. Well, some of us are respectful to
- 7:01Speaker 3: the women in their lives.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Now wait a minute, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm disrespectful.
- 7:06Speaker 2: So in other words, you were last night was suck
- 7:08Speaker 2: up night? Is that what you're saying?
- 7:10Speaker 3: I was watching TV with her. She was doing a puzzle.
- 7:12Speaker 3: She wanted me to hang out with her, so I
- 7:13Speaker 3: was hanging out with her.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Oh good for you, that's a nice thing for you
- 7:17Speaker 2: to do. I think I would be twiddling my thumbs
- 7:19Speaker 2: doing a puzzle and wanting to know what the score
- 7:21Speaker 2: of the game is.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I also just like would and didn't get a tune
- 7:23Speaker 3: intil like I had the opportunity to turn it to
- 7:26Speaker 3: the second quarter. Yes, and they were a thirty so exactly.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I don't really care to watch it, so I watched
- 7:30Speaker 3: the fourth quarter when I saw they were coming back.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah. How crazy was that game last night? I I
- 7:35Speaker 2: all right, here's what I look at. Do you think
- 7:38Speaker 2: the Knicks won that game? Or do you think the
- 7:41Speaker 2: Spurs blew that game? Because here's the thing about it.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Uh uh how do you say his name? An onob
- 7:53Speaker 2: Nobody blocked him out and he just came in there
- 7:57Speaker 2: and got that incredible tip in to win the ball game.
- 8:00Speaker 2: If you haven't seen the replay, you gotta go see
- 8:02Speaker 2: the replay.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I want to give credit to the Knicks because I mean,
- 8:05Speaker 3: they came back for twenty nine points down, so like
- 8:07Speaker 3: they deserve to win that game. But I also am
- 8:10Speaker 3: fighting myself on that take because they had lost.
- 8:13Speaker 2: It was over exactly.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And then Darren Fox makes the dumbest mistake I've ever
- 8:19Speaker 3: seen in my entire life, with eight seconds left, tries
- 8:21Speaker 3: to go and score when they were already up one.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, why would you do that? I I don't know.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I was watching it live and just I didn't had
- 8:33Speaker 3: no words. I mean, this was this was the rule
- 8:36Speaker 3: number one in sports. You take the win when you
- 8:38Speaker 3: It's the same thing as like in football. If you're
- 8:42Speaker 3: up already and you have the and you give the
- 8:44Speaker 3: clock to your advantage, you don't go score. You kneel
- 8:46Speaker 3: down at the one, you run the fox. He tries
- 8:49Speaker 3: to go for some stupid layup and try I don't.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I mean if the thing is, if he would have
- 8:54Speaker 3: even gotten it or he got fouled, it wouldn't have
- 8:57Speaker 3: won them the game either, because the nixt time the
- 9:00Speaker 3: Knicks could still tie. There was no situation where that
- 9:03Speaker 3: was the correct idea that lost in the game.
- 9:05Speaker 2: That to me shows me that the Spurs are managed,
- 9:08Speaker 2: not coached. Possibly, I'm just telling you they are. And
- 9:13Speaker 2: and Charles Barkley after the game said, uh, I had
- 9:16Speaker 2: all kinds of things to say, and Shaquille O'Neil agreed
- 9:19Speaker 2: with them one hundred percent, saying that you know, that
- 9:21Speaker 2: was the stupidest thing. UH, stupidest game coached. UH played
- 9:27Speaker 2: everything by the Spurs, And if anybody should be unbelievably disappointed,
- 9:32Speaker 2: it's that entire team, including the coaching staff that was
- 9:36Speaker 2: just a horribly managed coach played everything gained by the Spurs.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They had everything going for them. They had they were
- 9:44Speaker 2: back in this series. Now I'm to the point I
- 9:48Speaker 2: don't know if that team can recover. It's over. You
- 9:51Speaker 2: think it's over. I kind of feel like.
- 9:53Speaker 3: You don't give up a thirty point lead in a
- 9:54Speaker 3: game and then when there's there's just no way that happens.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I don't believe it. Just like, for instance, Kentucky Baseball
- 10:04Speaker 2: was beating West Virginia. They screwed up, lost that game,
- 10:09Speaker 2: and then you knew that series was over because the
- 10:11Speaker 2: next night they play. Of course, West Virginia wins, and
- 10:14Speaker 2: they're now in their first ever College World Series. I
- 10:17Speaker 2: just knew that UK couldn't recover from something like that.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I don't think. I'm not gonna say I'm one hundred
- 10:24Speaker 2: percent certain, but I'm gonna give it probably ninety five
- 10:28Speaker 2: to ninety nine percent certain that they're gonna lose the series.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And I want the Knicks to win, but the way
- 10:37Speaker 2: the fans have acted kind of makes me want them
- 10:41Speaker 2: to lose. Now. I don't know if you saw it
- 10:43Speaker 2: last night, but uh, a lot of the Knicks fans
- 10:48Speaker 2: were waiting for the Spurs at their hotel. First of all,
- 10:52Speaker 2: why are you doing that? And then the other part
- 10:56Speaker 2: is a fan threw something at Wimby and hit him
- 11:00Speaker 2: in the head. It's like, what are you doing? You're
- 11:03Speaker 2: embarrassing your fan base.
- 11:04Speaker 3: This is just Knicks fans. What they do is the
- 11:07Speaker 3: worst fan base.
- 11:08Speaker 2: In the NBA? Is it really the worst? Now you're
- 11:12Speaker 2: you're showing a little biased No. No, this happens every
- 11:14Speaker 2: single time. That's how that happens.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Every single time they play something in the playoffs and
- 11:18Speaker 3: that team comes to New York.
- 11:19Speaker 2: This is the same. This happens. Literally, everything is not new. Well,
- 11:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out, first of all, why are
- 11:26Speaker 2: the Spurs staying at a hotel where the bus drops
- 11:29Speaker 2: them off in the middle of the road and they
- 11:30Speaker 2: have to walk to the hotel front door downtown New York.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Why isn't there a hotel they can take them underneath
- 11:38Speaker 2: or somewhere else to where they're not exposed to the public,
- 11:41Speaker 2: because I I would not want to walk through that crowd.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I didn't like it. I didn't like how the to me,
- 11:49Speaker 2: it makes me worry. Okay, well, maybe the Spurs get
- 11:52Speaker 2: motivated by wimby getting hit in the head, and guess
- 11:55Speaker 2: what they do, come back and win. That's why I'm
- 11:57Speaker 2: not willing to give it one hundred percent that the
- 12:00Speaker 2: Nicks are going to win this. But I hated that.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I hated seeing the way the Knicks fans treated the Spurs.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah, well you're if the series is the same, you'll
- 12:07Speaker 3: see at least one more time.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you're probably right. But anyway, it was just a
- 12:15Speaker 2: crazy end to the game. I enjoyed it. I thought
- 12:18Speaker 2: it was a lot of fun, and especially you watched
- 12:23Speaker 2: the perfect time because the only time to watch that
- 12:25Speaker 2: game was the fourth quarter. I turned it off the
- 12:28Speaker 2: first quarter, no second quarter, because they were down by
- 12:31Speaker 2: a bunch of points, and I'm like, why am I
- 12:33Speaker 2: going to watch this? And I went to bed, and
- 12:34Speaker 2: then my son's calling me from New York City and
- 12:37Speaker 2: he's at a bar there watching it, and he's all excited,
- 12:41Speaker 2: wakes me up, texts me, I'll does all kinds sense
- 12:44Speaker 2: a video of it. That's kind of cool to see
- 12:46Speaker 2: that how the New Yorkers are acting in a normal bar.
- 12:50Speaker 2: But all right, let's talk about the amount of celebrities
- 12:55Speaker 2: that were at that game last night. I mean, that's
- 13:00Speaker 2: all it is, exactly. I think the first uh, I
- 13:05Speaker 2: think the lower level is nothing but celebrities. There was
- 13:09Speaker 2: a video of the show, Jerry Seinfeld walking over to
- 13:12Speaker 2: see Larry David, who's that? No, stop it, We're gonna
- 13:16Speaker 2: talk about that in a minute, and the next to
- 13:18Speaker 2: him was Matt Dillon. Behind him was John McEnroe. I
- 13:23Speaker 2: mean it was just celebrity after celebrity after celebrity, and
- 13:26Speaker 2: I was just like, that's just a I was even
- 13:29Speaker 2: amazed at it. But did you see where the Knicks
- 13:32Speaker 2: broadcast did not know they were on air, and somebody
- 13:37Speaker 2: noticed that Taylor Swift was at the game, and somebody
- 13:42Speaker 2: in the uh in the broadcast, Bruce said, why she here?
- 13:46Speaker 2: She's not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl,
- 13:50Speaker 2: Like that's what everybody was thinking. Oh really, I mean
- 13:53Speaker 2: maybe she is a Knicks fan. I have never once
- 13:56Speaker 2: seen her in a next sporting comment in my life.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And she was literally just caught last series in the
- 14:02Speaker 2: in Cleveland watching the Cavs play with Travis Kelsey's I think,
- 14:07Speaker 2: why is she there? Yeah, I'm right, she's taking up
- 14:12Speaker 2: somebody's ticket that really wants to go see the Nicks.
- 14:14Speaker 3: The forty thousand dollars floor ticket. Wow, nobody's paying for that.
- 14:18Speaker 2: No, I guly believe they put all the celebrities there
- 14:23Speaker 2: because they have price gouged so many people out that
- 14:25Speaker 2: they can't sell those tickets anymore. So they celebrities to
- 14:29Speaker 2: go there, so it looks full. Can you imagine? Can
- 14:32Speaker 2: you imagine just paying people to go to the game.
- 14:34Speaker 2: You were one of those people. Yeah, I'll go give
- 14:36Speaker 2: me ten thousand dollars. That must be nice, all right.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Adam Sandler was there getting a selfie with somebody and
- 14:45Speaker 2: you know who it was, John cal Perry. Oh I
- 14:49Speaker 2: did see him. Yeah, yes, So they're sitting next to
- 14:52Speaker 2: each other. Cal last to get it, which I thought
- 14:55Speaker 2: was funny. You know, Cal in the past always acts,
- 15:00Speaker 2: oh geez, here we go with the selfie again. So
- 15:02Speaker 2: he's asking Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler acts like he's happy
- 15:06Speaker 2: about it, and then turns around and doesn't like doesn't
- 15:08Speaker 2: act like he was really interested in getting a picture
- 15:10Speaker 2: with Cal, which I thought was so funny. But the
- 15:16Speaker 2: one of the issues I had. Cal looks very nice,
- 15:19Speaker 2: he always wears a nice suit, but he's got these
- 15:22Speaker 2: ridiculous red tennis shoes on. I don't understand the look
- 15:28Speaker 2: of wearing a suit with tennis shoes, do you. I mean,
- 15:31Speaker 2: I get the casual look of it, like it's a
- 15:34Speaker 2: dark suit, it's a it's a semi formal suit, and
- 15:38Speaker 2: you're wearing red tennis shoes with it.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I just don't think he needs to be wearing a suit,
- 15:42Speaker 3: like does he just always wear suits all day every day.
- 15:44Speaker 2: That's a New York thing, That's what I think. I
- 15:48Speaker 2: don't know. I'm like you, Well, to me, everybody else
- 15:53Speaker 2: goes to a ballgame casual wear, but he goes in
- 15:58Speaker 2: a suit. I'm with you. I don't know why people
- 16:00Speaker 2: wear suits. Most coaches don't even wear suits emo. Back
- 16:04Speaker 2: in the day, coaches wore coat and top.
- 16:06Speaker 3: And I'm a person who like if I go out
- 16:07Speaker 3: and do stuff, I like to look nice. Like I
- 16:09Speaker 3: enjoyed dressing up. I think it's right. But like, you
- 16:12Speaker 3: won't catch me dead going to something like that dressed
- 16:15Speaker 3: like that. No, never, You're just you stand out for
- 16:17Speaker 3: no reason. It's it's not worth.
- 16:19Speaker 2: It, No, it's not. And you're uncomfortable. You don't want
- 16:21Speaker 2: to get you know, somebody's going next to you and
- 16:23Speaker 2: get a beer on your nacho cheese or something. I
- 16:26Speaker 2: said no, no, no, no, no, because I want to
- 16:29Speaker 2: go there and I want to relax and enjoy. By
- 16:33Speaker 2: the way, when you go to a game, what's the
- 16:35Speaker 2: first concession stand food you get? Mm hmm pretzel? Is
- 16:41Speaker 2: it a pretzel?
- 16:41Speaker 3: I love soft pretzels. I love Auntie Anti or Anti Anti.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I give anything to have those of the Young Center.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Would you really? Yeah? Those? I think you can only
- 16:54Speaker 2: get them at the malls, can't you. There's not a
- 16:56Speaker 2: free standing I don't think those are awesome. I'm with
- 17:00Speaker 2: you right there, but you can do if it's that
- 17:02Speaker 2: version out, I would get it what Pauline and I do.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yes, so you can pay thirty dollars and you can
- 17:08Speaker 3: get like a giant bucket of just like pretzel nuggets
- 17:11Speaker 3: of like different types in Anti Ann's. Really, we would
- 17:15Speaker 3: do it for like games we go watch at home,
- 17:18Speaker 3: or like we've been to the movies before.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yes, and we've split it for fifteen bucks apiece. You
- 17:22Speaker 2: can get Auntie Annie's at the.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Movie at the movie at the mall right here, okay,
- 17:27Speaker 3: right next, and they'll let you carry it in.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Yes, we sneak it in. Oh there you go.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Yeah, we get she likes It's like she likes the
- 17:34Speaker 3: cinnamon one. So we get half cinnamon half regular. And
- 17:36Speaker 3: then ah, yeah, we'll like just use it like popcorn
- 17:39Speaker 3: and just hang out the movies.
- 17:40Speaker 2: A yeah, I like that. And then what are you drinking? Oh,
- 17:43Speaker 2: like a coke zero? Yeah, forty dollars coke zero. So yeah,
- 17:47Speaker 2: that's the only thing about movies that drive me nuts
- 17:49Speaker 2: is they charge too much for concession. You know, if
- 17:51Speaker 2: if will Stein is going to decrease at Commonwealth Stadium,
- 17:54Speaker 2: the concessions, I think movie theaters to decrease. Well, that's
- 17:58Speaker 2: the only money they make is for concessions. You don't
- 18:00Speaker 2: think they make money from people buying tickets to go
- 18:02Speaker 2: see the movie in the first place.
- 18:03Speaker 3: No, the movies make money from those they get like
- 18:06Speaker 3: a small cut. But like the people who actually the
- 18:10Speaker 3: produce the companies that produce those movies are the ones
- 18:13Speaker 3: that make money.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Off the tickets. Really, Okay, that's why the ticket concessions
- 18:15Speaker 2: would make it a little more reasonable. They've gotten way
- 18:18Speaker 2: too much. I agree on how much they charge for concession.
- 18:22Speaker 2: All right, I'm all about whatever game I go to
- 18:26Speaker 2: is two things I want. I want a hot dog
- 18:29Speaker 2: and I want nachos with lots of jalapenos. That's that's
- 18:32Speaker 2: my go to for concessions. I don't care where I am, basketball, football, baseball,
- 18:37Speaker 2: it's always the same thing. Depends on what sporting event
- 18:40Speaker 2: I'm at. Really, if I'm gonna fa oh wait wait
- 18:42Speaker 2: wait wait? So you go to different sports and order
- 18:46Speaker 2: different things. Yes, really, it's entirely a setting. Interesting. Sorry.
- 18:51Speaker 2: If I'm in a baseball game, it's one hundred percent
- 18:53Speaker 2: of hot dog. No.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Yes, nothing else is being consumed by me as hot dogs. Yes,
- 18:57Speaker 3: I go to a football game, it's a pizza. It's
- 19:01Speaker 3: a small pizza. I'm serious, it's and that's like a
- 19:05Speaker 3: thing I grew up. So like when I grew up,
- 19:07Speaker 3: I was a really picky eater and I used to
- 19:09Speaker 3: and my dad used to always take me to football
- 19:11Speaker 3: games and they had you know, Papa John's, Papa John's
- 19:14Speaker 3: Cardle Stadium, right, so they still have.
- 19:16Speaker 2: That there, don't they know? Oh it's somebody else. No,
- 19:19Speaker 2: it's Papa Murphy's. Now it's terrible. I hate it. It's awful.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I don't know Papa Murphy. Yeah, you don't you don't
- 19:23Speaker 2: need to. It's horrible. Okay.
- 19:25Speaker 3: It's the only pizza chain that makes you cook your
- 19:27Speaker 3: own pizza, So I boycott it. What Yeah, they make
- 19:30Speaker 3: you like you pick it up, like they give you
- 19:32Speaker 3: the topics and you put it in your oven and
- 19:33Speaker 3: cook it yourself at home.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's stupid. I was like, it's ridiculous. Yeah, I'll pass it.
- 19:37Speaker 3: But when I would grow up, my dad would want
- 19:40Speaker 3: me to come with him. When I was like a
- 19:41Speaker 3: really really little kid, I wasn't really into sports yet,
- 19:44Speaker 3: so to get me to come with him, he would
- 19:45Speaker 3: buy me a pizza at the football game.
- 19:48Speaker 2: So that's a thing from your past that you just
- 19:52Speaker 2: can't get out of your head. You're stuck to getting. Yeah,
- 19:54Speaker 2: it's like I have it all right. So that's basket,
- 19:57Speaker 2: that's football, baseball, What is basketball? Basketball is probably it's
- 20:02Speaker 2: all it's usually a principal. That's crazy. Yeah, because if
- 20:06Speaker 2: I go to like Freedom Hall for anything, and now
- 20:09Speaker 2: it's it's true. For the YOUM cinner, it's got to
- 20:12Speaker 2: be the caramel corn. Camel corn is good. It's there's
- 20:15Speaker 2: something about that caramel corn at Freedom Hall, which probably
- 20:19Speaker 2: has a thousand years of caramel stuck to the floor
- 20:23Speaker 2: all over Freedom Hall, no joke. Sometimes I think that
- 20:27Speaker 2: if they're playing a basketball game, that basketball is going
- 20:30Speaker 2: to stick to the floor because of the caramel there.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Sometimes I'll switch it up at basketball games. Yes, and
- 20:34Speaker 3: I'll get the roasted nuts, you know, like the candy.
- 20:38Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm not big into that. The German roasted
- 20:41Speaker 2: nuts are so good, are they really? Yeah?
- 20:44Speaker 3: No, But because I got to stand up and sit
- 20:46Speaker 3: down so many times, I need something I could eat, like, yeah,
- 20:49Speaker 3: you know, I can hold in one hand and eat
- 20:50Speaker 3: it easily.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Sometimes I like the peanuts in the shell. Yeah, I mean,
- 20:56Speaker 2: I'll never forget the time that I went to a
- 20:58Speaker 2: Bengals game with my dad brother in law, and my
- 21:01Speaker 2: brother in law is crying, laughing, and I'm like, are
- 21:04Speaker 2: you okay? He goes watch your dad eat the peanuts.
- 21:09Speaker 2: So he would take the peanuts out of the shell
- 21:12Speaker 2: and throw what he thought the shell down onto the ground. Well,
- 21:16Speaker 2: actually it was going There was a guy sitting in
- 21:19Speaker 2: front of my dad that didn't have his shirt tucked
- 21:22Speaker 2: in and exposed his crack nice and the peanuts were
- 21:27Speaker 2: going The shells were going down the crack of that
- 21:30Speaker 2: guy's pants. And the guy never noticed it.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Okay, do you guys like put the shell in your
- 21:39Speaker 3: mouth and then open it?
- 21:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 21:41Speaker 2: I know, I do it the other way around. I
- 21:43Speaker 2: open it, eat the peanut and then put the shell
- 21:45Speaker 2: in my mouth to suck all the salt. Okay, okay,
- 21:47Speaker 2: so you do it the other way around.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I did, because I like i'd eat it like
- 21:50Speaker 3: the sunflowers that crack it out.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Oh nice, that's too much to put in my mouth,
- 21:56Speaker 2: that's what she said. That's exactly right. Well I didn't
- 21:59Speaker 2: say nuts. I don't. Yeah, but anyway, we gotta take
- 22:01Speaker 2: our first break. We're already on a wild conversation, so
- 22:05Speaker 2: lots of talk about today. We're gonna talk about yes,
- 22:09Speaker 2: UK has another recruit. We're gonna talk about the kickoff times,
- 22:13Speaker 2: and we're gonna talk about Okay, are you ready for this?
- 22:18Speaker 2: Are you ready? We're gonna talk about some soccer so
- 22:22Speaker 2: oh yeah, I'll let I'll let Matthew lead that conversation.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Stay right there. A lot more just the cats coming
- 22:28Speaker 2: right up. I'm just curious. This is aha. Yes, how
- 23:08Speaker 2: did you pick this music? Because this is way before
- 23:11Speaker 2: you were even born. I just heard it somewhere one time.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Did you really? I'll say, so you like Aha? I
- 23:16Speaker 3: mean I like the song you do? Okay, I couldn't
- 23:18Speaker 3: tell you another single aha song. I don't think I
- 23:21Speaker 3: could either. I believe they're from Norway because when I
- 23:27Speaker 3: was there last February, there was a guy there that say,
- 23:30Speaker 3: you know they're from berg I believe it's Bergen, Norway
- 23:32Speaker 3: is where they're from.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And told you that, yeah he did.
- 23:38Speaker 3: And people from Norway just every time they see a
- 23:40Speaker 3: tourist they're like, hey, you know, ah.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yes exactly. I think that was now it was our
- 23:45Speaker 2: it was our tour guide, okay. And Uh, I think
- 23:48Speaker 2: one of the bandmates is Uh is an artist now
- 23:52Speaker 2: up in Bergen, and he was bragging about that, and
- 23:55Speaker 2: this is like, it was fascinating. It was interesting because
- 23:57Speaker 2: they made a groundbreaking video that song. Right there, it
- 24:00Speaker 2: was like it was a drawing, then it would be
- 24:02Speaker 2: real life, then it'd be back to a drawing. Yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 2: you should go watch that see if you like that
- 24:06Speaker 2: or not. But anyway, I just thought you'd be interested
- 24:09Speaker 2: in that since you liked that song. Evidently, let's go
- 24:12Speaker 2: to the Whiskey Thief text line five two four one
- 24:15Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty one person said, imagine Wibby trying to
- 24:21Speaker 2: crouch down and walk in an old New York City
- 24:25Speaker 2: parking lot, a garage, laugh out loud. I imagine he
- 24:30Speaker 2: has that problem everywhere he goes. And can you imagine
- 24:33Speaker 2: him going in a subway? Hey, where do you think
- 24:38Speaker 2: having that kind of height Wimby's seven to four correct? Yes?
- 24:42Speaker 2: Where do you think he can walk normally? I bet
- 24:46Speaker 2: there's so many places. He can't get into a New
- 24:49Speaker 2: York City cab. I mean, maybe he's a little comfortable
- 24:54Speaker 2: in a limousine because he can stretch his legs out
- 24:56Speaker 2: a little more. But is there anywhere that guy can
- 24:59Speaker 2: be comfortable as far as his height. He can't even
- 25:02Speaker 2: stay in a normal hotel room. I think without crouching down,
- 25:05Speaker 2: can he? I mean probably not. He can walk into
- 25:08Speaker 2: the lobby.
- 25:09Speaker 3: But I mean he's got hundreds of millions of dollars,
- 25:11Speaker 3: so I imagine that you didn't care. Imagine that's a
- 25:13Speaker 3: small inconvenience in life for him.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Imagine getting on an elevator going up to his room
- 25:18Speaker 2: in the hotel. God forbid, his life must be terrible.
- 25:21Speaker 2: It must be. I could.
- 25:23Speaker 3: I'm glad I'm where I'm at right now because I
- 25:26Speaker 3: couldn't handle that strenuous life that he has.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Well, yeah, good for him, though, you know his dad
- 25:37Speaker 2: is six eight and his mom's sixty seven. Yes, that's
- 25:40Speaker 2: just crazy height. I've just never seen a not many
- 25:43Speaker 2: ladies out there that are that kind of height. One person,
- 25:47Speaker 2: Ohio Guy said, which was the dumber play, Darren Fox's
- 25:51Speaker 2: play last night or Caden Boozer's tuner over that costs
- 25:55Speaker 2: Duke the game versus Yukon into leade eight? Daron Fox's
- 25:58Speaker 2: play last night? Was it? Really? Why do you say that?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Because I'm almost with a Boozers play.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Because I genuinely believe that if they won the last night,
- 26:07Speaker 3: if they won that game last night, the Spurs, the
- 26:09Speaker 3: Spurs with how you know, well they were up and everything.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I mean, that's a demoralizing loss that you lose both
- 26:16Speaker 3: games at home. If you're the Knicks, I think the
- 26:19Speaker 3: Spurs take the series. That they win that game last night,
- 26:22Speaker 3: they go back to home, they go up three two.
- 26:29Speaker 2: No, they wouldn't be up three too, would.
- 26:31Speaker 3: They'd be two two? It'd be two two yeah if
- 26:34Speaker 3: they won last night. Yeah, and then they go back home.
- 26:37Speaker 3: You have the momentum when that game be up three two?
- 26:39Speaker 2: Okay, I got you. Yeah, you're right. Uh. One person said, yes,
- 26:43Speaker 2: Tom Brady's new beverage brand really is called good Nut.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Did you know this good What is it? It's it's
- 26:54Speaker 3: a coconut water or something like that.
- 26:57Speaker 2: What is that? Okay? Is cocaine considered a nut? I'm curious.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I don't know that. Well, I don't know the genealogy
- 27:07Speaker 2: of the nuts. I don't either, but it could be.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But why would it be coconut water be called good.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Nut because it's called coconut Michael, I don't know.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Okay, I got you. Yeah, probably so you just said it.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You helped me figure it out. I couldn't figure it out.
- 27:25Speaker 2: So instead of being coconut, it's good Nut original coconut water.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Why would anybody want to drink coconut water? I don't know.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It's terrible. Have you tried it? Yeah? I've tried coconut
- 27:37Speaker 2: water before. Oh have you? Okay? I like it and drinks,
- 27:40Speaker 2: but I don't know if i'd want to go out
- 27:41Speaker 2: and buy it and say this is delicious.
- 27:44Speaker 3: You want to know why I tried it? Honestly, because
- 27:46Speaker 3: if you're paying attention or Patino. Every single basketball game
- 27:50Speaker 3: drinks coconut water, drinks by to coca water.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Doesn't it make you go to the bathroom? Yes, but
- 27:56Speaker 2: why would you want to drink it and then coach
- 27:59Speaker 2: a bast kickball game?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Don't ask me, but I'm thinking I gotta go to
- 28:02Speaker 3: the bathrooms, Like, why is he drinking this? It must
- 28:04Speaker 3: be good. I tried it. It was terrible. I hated it,
- 28:07Speaker 3: but I also hate coconut. Oh see, I love coconut.
- 28:10Speaker 3: I don't think I like it by itself, but I
- 28:12Speaker 3: do love it. And mixed drinks. Oh man, it's delicious.
- 28:15Speaker 2: John here, I do not care who wins the NBA Finals,
- 28:19Speaker 2: but come on, man, Fox, just dribble a little more.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Then let them faalue and go knock down some free throws. Well,
- 28:26Speaker 2: it is what it is. The Knicks might do something
- 28:30Speaker 2: they have have it not done since nineteen seventy three.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I believe Spike Lee's persona is a little annoying when
- 28:36Speaker 2: he is on camera. Him and a lot of other
- 28:38Speaker 2: Knicks fans will be going crazy for sure if it happens.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I am super excited for Towns just because one cat
- 28:48Speaker 2: always a cat's once a cat. I think he means
- 28:50Speaker 2: once a cat, always a cat. Yeah, I know a
- 28:53Speaker 2: lot of Arkansas fans were getting on there. Oh, Karl
- 28:59Speaker 2: Anthony Towns is supporting Arkansas because of he supports John
- 29:03Speaker 2: cal Perry. It's like, no, he doesn't. He was a
- 29:05Speaker 2: COW player, No he was, Yes he was, but he
- 29:09Speaker 2: was first and four months a UK player. Just because
- 29:13Speaker 2: your coach goes to another school doesn't mean the players
- 29:15Speaker 2: are now associated with that school. Do you think it's
- 29:19Speaker 2: kind of ridiculous that Arkansas fans are trying to claim
- 29:22Speaker 2: all of Cow's players. I mean that played for him
- 29:27Speaker 2: at UK. Depends on who they're claiming. Well, they're trying
- 29:31Speaker 2: to claim like if you're Karl Anthony Towns right now,
- 29:34Speaker 2: if the one and Dun's like the serious one and Duns,
- 29:37Speaker 2: that can claim them. Like I mean, but don't you
- 29:40Speaker 2: consider them a UK fan Because when they introduce Karl
- 29:44Speaker 2: Anthony Towns, they introduce him as playing at Universe Kentucky.
- 29:48Speaker 2: When they introduce Darren Fox, they introduce him as playing
- 29:52Speaker 2: at University Kentucky. They don't introduce him as a University
- 29:55Speaker 2: of John cal Perry. I mean, no, that's true, Like, yeah,
- 29:57Speaker 2: that they went to UK. Obviously it's not hidden knowledge
- 30:00Speaker 2: that they did that, but I think it's you know,
- 30:03Speaker 2: with CAL being separated from UK, it's become knowledgeable that
- 30:07Speaker 2: players in the league outterly have said they support CAL
- 30:10Speaker 2: and not really the school like they they back Cal,
- 30:14Speaker 2: like because that's their coach. I think they backed CAL,
- 30:16Speaker 2: but I also think they back UK. Maybe I think
- 30:19Speaker 2: they're both. I think, like I said, I think it
- 30:21Speaker 2: just depends on player to player. I don't have a
- 30:23Speaker 2: problem with them backing John Caliperry. Now, if they're going
- 30:27Speaker 2: to go there and back Arkansas.
- 30:29Speaker 3: I don't think and be able to claim the players
- 30:32Speaker 3: as there they're trying to that you can claim them
- 30:35Speaker 3: as CAL players.
- 30:36Speaker 2: You can't.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Like if Arkansas fans are coming out and being like,
- 30:39Speaker 3: well this guy was with us, blah blah, that's obviously
- 30:42Speaker 3: just not true.
- 30:42Speaker 2: It's gonna happen.
- 30:43Speaker 3: But now if you want to make the argument that
- 30:46Speaker 3: you claim them as Cali Peri players, then yeah, I guess,
- 30:49Speaker 3: but they Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 2: One person said, uh, I think UK should run a
- 30:54Speaker 2: promo win will Stein's money. Barnhart Barnhart, Barnhart, I don't understand,
- 31:01Speaker 2: do you? Why are we well, why do we want
- 31:04Speaker 2: to run a pomo when will Stein's money. I'm not
- 31:08Speaker 2: sure I get that understanding, but UH, explain it to
- 31:10Speaker 2: me a little more, Texter, so I can understand what
- 31:13Speaker 2: you're trying to say. One person said, Big X replacing
- 31:16Speaker 2: your producer has ruined just the cats for me. Let
- 31:19Speaker 2: me know if Scoots comes back and I will listen.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Haven't listened since Scoots left. Hope you're doing well though.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Big X is a joke. Okay, Well that's nice. Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 2: I don't know what to say about that. Uh, maybe
- 31:33Speaker 2: something will happen in a positive way. We'll see maybe
- 31:36Speaker 2: something goods in brew Can I say that? I can't
- 31:41Speaker 2: say anything, can I? I don't really know anymore. Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 2: great answer. Uh just just sit tight, Okay, don't don't
- 31:49Speaker 2: be so upset that just just sit tight. Okay, maybe
- 31:53Speaker 2: something good will happen, I promise. Okay. One person said,
- 31:57Speaker 2: which was the done. No, Laker fans are worse because
- 32:01Speaker 2: they are all bandwagon. I kind of get the feeling.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Knicks and Lakers fans are kind of the same.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I mean, Lakers fans aren't beating people up in the
- 32:09Speaker 3: street because they lost the game. Lakers fans are going
- 32:13Speaker 3: home to watch the Las Vegas Golden Knight's game. They're
- 32:17Speaker 3: going home to watch the Dodgers play. They're going home.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but they're kind of aggressive at the games. Dude,
- 32:24Speaker 2: Rams fans are pretty aggressive. Lakers fans could not care
- 32:28Speaker 2: less that they could not care Dodgers fans are kind
- 32:31Speaker 2: of aggressive at games. I mean, I've seen multiple fights
- 32:34Speaker 2: between those two franchises on their home field.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I'll agree with the Texter in the fact that, like,
- 32:39Speaker 3: the Lakers fans are worse because ninety nine percent of
- 32:42Speaker 3: them don't understand like what the Lakers are. They're just
- 32:46Speaker 3: there because it's like it's the Knicks situation, where like
- 32:49Speaker 3: people go to the Lakers games because they want to
- 32:51Speaker 3: be seen, you know what I mean. But at least
- 32:54Speaker 3: then people who would like go to the Knicks games
- 32:57Speaker 3: have watched basketball before.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Some Yeah, I who was it that was interviewed last night?
- 33:05Speaker 2: And uh, oh it was Adam's not Adam Sandler. The
- 33:10Speaker 2: guy had just met Sunday what's his name? I see,
- 33:13Speaker 2: I can't even remember his name. Now, I met this
- 33:16Speaker 2: guy that goes to the Knicks games. He sits on
- 33:19Speaker 2: the floor, uh, and he made he was being interviewed
- 33:23Speaker 2: before the game. He says, yeah, I don't even buy
- 33:26Speaker 2: the tickets. They just give him to me. Yeah, and
- 33:28Speaker 2: I come, Ben Stiller. You met Ben Stiller and didn't
- 33:33Speaker 2: remember his name? Yeah? I did. Inn't that terrible? Yeah?
- 33:36Speaker 2: I met Ben Stiller on Sunday, so just to let
- 33:39Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, but I remembered his name when I
- 33:42Speaker 2: met him for It took me a minute, though, but yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I And he was interviewed yesterday it's like, have you
- 33:50Speaker 2: been a I think it was Charles Barkley asked him,
- 33:53Speaker 2: have you been a season ticket holder for a long time?
- 33:56Speaker 2: He goes, no, I don't have season tickets. They just
- 33:58Speaker 2: give me tickets here. Yeah, so they do. And I'm like, oh,
- 34:02Speaker 2: that's not a really good look.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I can't sell those things even if you're a celebrity.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Do you want to pay twenty thousand dollars a game?
- 34:09Speaker 2: No? A game? No.
- 34:12Speaker 3: I genuinely don't understand how they get people in that arena.
- 34:16Speaker 3: I think they're all like psy operatives, like I think
- 34:19Speaker 3: that they're government plans.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I think it's mostly corporate owned season tickets, and the
- 34:23Speaker 2: corporations have no issue buying all those tickets I think
- 34:26Speaker 2: that's what's mostly and they just give them to their
- 34:29Speaker 2: clients or their employees. That's how they get in there.
- 34:32Speaker 2: UK assistant coach Mikhale McLean named head coach of the
- 34:36Speaker 2: Bohemian national team. That was pretty cool, starting World Cup
- 34:42Speaker 2: qualifiers in July ahead of the twenty seven FEBA Basketball
- 34:47Speaker 2: World Cup in Qatar. I don't think I would want
- 34:50Speaker 2: to go there next August and then hoping for possibly
- 34:54Speaker 2: the Summer Olympics in La. Would you want to go
- 34:58Speaker 2: to Katar? No? Yeah, I wouldn't unless it's like for
- 35:02Speaker 2: a specific reason. But congratulations coach MacLean. I mean, that's
- 35:07Speaker 2: pretty cool because he's from the Bahamas originally and he's
- 35:11Speaker 2: coaching his national team. That would be something fun to do,
- 35:14Speaker 2: wouldn't it get some good experience and as a head coach.
- 35:19Speaker 2: And then because obviously he would like to be a
- 35:21Speaker 2: head coach somewhere else or at Kentucky too, but for
- 35:24Speaker 2: that fact, but he'd like to be a head coach
- 35:26Speaker 2: one day, so this gets some good experience there. I okay,
- 35:33Speaker 2: out of thanks a lot on that. I appreciate that.
- 35:35Speaker 2: All right, Well, after that, let's just take a break. Hey, Okay,
- 35:38Speaker 2: let's talk about some soccer. I know you want to
- 35:40Speaker 2: talk soccer when we come back, just like everybody else
- 35:42Speaker 2: in the world is doing. Yeah, it's not me. I'm
- 35:45Speaker 2: not talking about I won't watch a second of a game,
- 35:48Speaker 2: but we'll talk about it. Okay, because it's happening. I
- 35:51Speaker 2: get it. Stay right there a lot more justin Pat's
- 35:53Speaker 2: coming right out.
- 35:55Speaker 4: She made me nervous.
- 36:10Speaker 1: He just smiled, and.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I mean, I really love how you're on the eighties
- 36:26Speaker 2: kick right there now, you're playing another band from my
- 36:30Speaker 2: high school era. Wow, are you okay? I'm good, Okay, good.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I'm glad to hear that. Uh. I don't know if
- 36:38Speaker 2: you saw it or not, but shake Gilgess Alexander your
- 36:40Speaker 2: favorite player named to the Times list of one hundred
- 36:43Speaker 2: most influential Uh in sports? Did you think that was deserved? Yeah?
- 36:50Speaker 2: Do you really? I'm kind of surprised by that. I mean,
- 36:53Speaker 2: he's the best shot crater in the NBA right now.
- 36:57Speaker 2: How much does that taste?
- 36:59Speaker 3: I mean I've never said he wasn't. I just said
- 37:02Speaker 3: that I don't like how he plays.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, you don't. There were a number of
- 37:07Speaker 2: other players there from the NBA that were in it
- 37:10Speaker 2: as well, So Steph Curry is a part of that
- 37:17Speaker 2: list as innovators. The one that kind of surprised me
- 37:20Speaker 2: was Cooper Flag as an innovator. Do you think Cooper
- 37:24Speaker 2: Flag was deserved to be in that list? No? No,
- 37:30Speaker 2: what's the specifics of the list again? Top one most
- 37:33Speaker 2: influential sports figures and I'm just talking about the NBA
- 37:38Speaker 2: ones right now. Yeah. No, Lebron James is a part
- 37:42Speaker 2: of that. But I just I thought it was pretty
- 37:47Speaker 2: cool to see, which I think Lebron James is deserving
- 37:49Speaker 2: of it, much as much as I hate saying that,
- 37:51Speaker 2: But he's an influential player. Is he the greatest of
- 37:56Speaker 2: all time? Absolutely not? But Cooper Flag. This is the
- 37:59Speaker 2: thing that is interesting about Cooper Flag. Let me talk
- 38:02Speaker 2: about this for a second, because you realize how much
- 38:05Speaker 2: the national media blasted UK for as much as they
- 38:09Speaker 2: spent on their roster supposedly last year. Right you agree
- 38:14Speaker 2: with that? Yes? All right? Do you know how much
- 38:18Speaker 2: Duke University paid for Cooper Flag to go to Duke University?
- 38:26Speaker 2: Five million dollars? I'll give you two more guesses, six
- 38:31Speaker 2: million dollars, you got one more. Eight You're not even close.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Are you ready? And this is not Michael Bennett making
- 38:39Speaker 2: this figure up. This was reported in the New York Times.
- 38:45Speaker 2: It was reported by the New York Times that Duke
- 38:48Speaker 2: University paid twenty eight million dollars to have Cooper Flag
- 38:53Speaker 2: come play basketball at Duke University. And yet nobody in
- 38:57Speaker 2: the national media talks about that. They all want to
- 39:00Speaker 2: go make fun of Kentucky for paying twenty two was
- 39:04Speaker 2: supposedly twenty two million dollars last year for their entire roster.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yet Duke University paid twenty eight million dollars for Cooper Flag.
- 39:13Speaker 2: You won't hear anybody talk about that. Explain to me
- 39:18Speaker 2: why they want to make fun of Kentucky. But Duke
- 39:22Speaker 2: paid that much and more plus six million dollars for
- 39:26Speaker 2: one player, and they didn't win a title with them. Okay,
- 39:30Speaker 2: this is misleading.
- 39:31Speaker 3: It is because that also that twenty eight million includes
- 39:35Speaker 3: his deals, his brand deals with New Ballance and Fanatics. Correct,
- 39:39Speaker 3: new balance is thirteen fanas is fifteen correct, but it's
- 39:43Speaker 3: still twenty eight million dollars. You're right, but Duke didn't
- 39:47Speaker 3: pay him twenty eight million dollars.
- 39:48Speaker 2: But to go to Duke, you were going to get
- 39:50Speaker 2: those fanatics and what was the other brand, New Balance?
- 39:54Speaker 2: New Balance, So they kicked it in for him to
- 39:57Speaker 2: go to Duke. Same thing saying to me, I mean
- 40:01Speaker 2: it could be Yes, how much did Duke pay for him?
- 40:05Speaker 3: Thirteen plus fifteen that's twenty eight Yeah, So I mean, okay,
- 40:11Speaker 3: maybe they, like you said, it could be that, you know,
- 40:15Speaker 3: they organized those deals for him to get there. It
- 40:17Speaker 3: could have been he already had those lined up, But.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I doubt it. I'm just telling you that even though
- 40:25Speaker 2: other companies outside of Duke, he still got that money
- 40:29Speaker 2: to go to Duke.
- 40:30Speaker 3: The only reason that this became a problem, yes, is
- 40:33Speaker 3: because Kentucky let that number get out. Like I think
- 40:37Speaker 3: that a lot of people understood, Like when they saw
- 40:40Speaker 3: that number, they're like, oh, well, imagine what this school
- 40:42Speaker 3: is paying. Imagine what that school is paying, right, And
- 40:43Speaker 3: that's what's kind of started all this.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Well, the number got out front by the New York Times,
- 40:47Speaker 2: yet nobody in the national media picked it up. They
- 40:49Speaker 2: didn't want to pick on Duke. I don't understand why Duke.
- 40:52Speaker 2: There are certain schools in this country that get passes. Yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 2: I think Duke is one of them. I think your
- 41:00Speaker 2: Dame is one of them. Who are the other ones
- 41:04Speaker 2: that get total passes? Am I miss? I think those
- 41:06Speaker 2: are the two biggest schools that the national media just
- 41:10Speaker 2: lets it go U and C. You think North Carolina
- 41:13Speaker 2: does really?
- 41:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean people don't talk about the fact that
- 41:16Speaker 3: they literally had an entire educational system that was casual
- 41:21Speaker 3: and true, and then we talked about that anymore. Michigan
- 41:23Speaker 3: gets to do whatever they want. You think Michigan does
- 41:26Speaker 3: they literally cheating football games. Nobody talks about it. They
- 41:28Speaker 3: just let it go fair enough. I think Alabama can
- 41:32Speaker 3: do whatever they want. Nobody's ever gonna question how much
- 41:34Speaker 3: money Alabama spending.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Well, you know they used to could. I don't think
- 41:38Speaker 2: that's the case anymore. With Nick Saban was the head
- 41:40Speaker 2: coach there, I I would agree with you wholeheartedly because
- 41:43Speaker 2: I I just with ed. Nobody picked up ed Orgeron's
- 41:48Speaker 2: statement saying that, you know, we used to get bags
- 41:51Speaker 2: of money coming in the back door. Now it's coming
- 41:53Speaker 2: in the front door. Why didn't anybody look into that?
- 41:55Speaker 2: Well who was Why didn't NCAA say, oh, is that
- 41:58Speaker 2: the case? We need to interview ed Orseron to find
- 42:01Speaker 2: out what he means by that statement, and we might
- 42:04Speaker 2: eliminate some national championship games and titles to that school
- 42:09Speaker 2: and some wins by Nick Saban. Why aren't they looking
- 42:12Speaker 2: into that?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I think Kentucky used to be like
- 42:15Speaker 3: that too, like before an Il and stuff.
- 42:18Speaker 2: I think they all did.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think all the blue blood teams did.
- 42:21Speaker 3: But I think every school did, not just blue blood. Well, yes,
- 42:24Speaker 3: every school pay, but I think the Kentucky used to
- 42:27Speaker 3: be like above that, whereas like you, it wouldn't even
- 42:29Speaker 3: be questioned.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Yeah, because of their prowess. I'm not I'm not gonna
- 42:33Speaker 2: get into that. But one person texted in, ben Stein
- 42:38Speaker 2: had the game show When ben Stein's Money, and he
- 42:40Speaker 2: was a teacher in Ferris Buele's Day Off. I remember
- 42:43Speaker 2: ben Stein. I forgot about that. So that's what he's
- 42:45Speaker 2: talking about when he said win will Stein's Money. There
- 42:48Speaker 2: was a TV show with ben Stein that said win
- 42:51Speaker 2: ben I get it. Okay, that's a nice joke. It
- 42:53Speaker 2: just took me a minute. One person said, John here,
- 42:57Speaker 2: I believe they may be talking about a game show
- 43:00Speaker 2: called When ben Stein's My good call there, John replaced
- 43:05Speaker 2: Bill with Will and you can do a little play
- 43:07Speaker 2: on words, and I like that You're exactly what you
- 43:09Speaker 2: called it correctly. One person said, Louisville claimed Kentucky players
- 43:14Speaker 2: when Kenny Payne was there, and now Arkansas is doing
- 43:17Speaker 2: the same. Everyone just wants to be Kentucky the best
- 43:22Speaker 2: thing to ever happen to college basketball. You know that
- 43:25Speaker 2: is the highest form of compliment when people want to
- 43:29Speaker 2: claim your players. Did they do it with Kenny?
- 43:34Speaker 3: Though I don't remember. I don't at least I did it,
- 43:38Speaker 3: and like people that I know did it. Yeah, I
- 43:41Speaker 3: know that there was the whole like Kenny Payne won
- 43:43Speaker 3: those games thing going on. Yeah, but I don't remember.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I don't have anybody at least that I know personally
- 43:49Speaker 3: come out and be like, well, we definitely got Anthony Davis.
- 43:54Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I do? I do. One
- 43:57Speaker 2: person said, have you watched Anthony Davis' new show Foul
- 44:00Speaker 2: Play on TVs? I have, not speaking to Anthony Davis. Yeah,
- 44:04Speaker 2: And the funny part is I've never heard of it.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Have you heard of the show?
- 44:08Speaker 3: I think I have. I think they advertised it on
- 44:10Speaker 3: like during the playoffs.
- 44:11Speaker 2: What's it about? Is it just him talking about NBA?
- 44:14Speaker 2: Or is it all kinds of stuff I don't remember.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I think it's like a all right, textter, this is
- 44:20Speaker 2: Ohio guy that texted this in. I'll look it up
- 44:23Speaker 2: during the break between hour one and two and just
- 44:27Speaker 2: to see. I didn't even know it's a prank show.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Oh it is.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Anthony Davis Lure's former NFL defensive lineman Jerald mcfoy
- 44:37Speaker 3: into a movie audition where he damages superhero mabilia Okayan show.
- 44:41Speaker 2: All right, yeah, do you like those what's the one
- 44:43Speaker 2: that's on MTV that's so popular? Well, you mean punk
- 44:47Speaker 2: that's it. Uh No, there was another one with a
- 44:51Speaker 2: short guy that's on there and he has his girlfriend
- 44:55Speaker 2: on there with him, and then a couple other people.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I just don't know, and they watch videos because I
- 44:59Speaker 3: know Ashton Kutcher hosted Punk Tru.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and I never thought those things were funny. I
- 45:05Speaker 2: don't know. I thought Jackass was funny for a little bit,
- 45:09Speaker 2: and then you know Johnny Knoxville and doing all that
- 45:11Speaker 2: kind of stuff that he did, and then yeah, it
- 45:13Speaker 2: just to me, it just kind of wears out quickly.
- 45:15Speaker 2: It's just not funny. After three or four episode. Why
- 45:19Speaker 2: Anthony Davis, I don't know, Anthony Davis. I mean, I
- 45:22Speaker 2: don't get it. I'm with you, like, is this like hit?
- 45:24Speaker 2: Did his agent set this up? Or did somebody come
- 45:27Speaker 2: to him and ask him to do this that? Or
- 45:28Speaker 2: is he you know, the one that can be influential
- 45:31Speaker 2: to get and they're pranking only professional athletes? Is that
- 45:35Speaker 2: what they're doing? Is that the premise? I don't know,
- 45:38Speaker 2: So I don't want to go too late here. How
- 45:41Speaker 2: much time do we have before we need a break?
- 45:44Speaker 2: Got two minutes? We got two minutes? Okay, all right.
- 45:48Speaker 2: There's a couple of things I want to talk about
- 45:50Speaker 2: when we come back. Number one, I do want to
- 45:53Speaker 2: talk about UK getting yet again another four star come in.
- 46:00Speaker 2: We'll talk about that as well. Will Stein talking about
- 46:05Speaker 2: Mett Ponitowski what he should do with baseball, which I
- 46:09Speaker 2: was really not surprised by it, but a lot of
- 46:12Speaker 2: people's like, wow, he said that. To me, that's not
- 46:15Speaker 2: really big news. But we'll talk about that. And then
- 46:17Speaker 2: what the heck was Morgan Wallin doing last weekend with
- 46:21Speaker 2: a cell phone? I definitely want to talk about that
- 46:23Speaker 2: one there. I don't know, are you a are you
- 46:25Speaker 2: a Morgan Wallin fan?
- 46:27Speaker 3: No?
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't throwing a chair off a balcony this time. No,
- 46:32Speaker 2: he didn't throw a chair off the balcony, but he
- 46:34Speaker 2: threw something and took it out of somebody's hands, so
- 46:37Speaker 2: we'll talk about that too. Yeah, So all right, FABO
- 46:40Speaker 2: two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want to call
- 46:42Speaker 2: in five oh two four one four fourteen fifty, if
- 46:46Speaker 2: you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line. Yeah,
- 46:49Speaker 2: I appreciate it. Y'all are setting a lot of texts today.
- 46:51Speaker 2: It's been kind of quiet the last three days, but
- 46:53Speaker 2: today you're doing a good job. So thank you. Keep going.
- 46:55Speaker 2: So all right, stay right there, our two adjust the
- 46:59Speaker 2: Cats Dances.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 47:33Speaker 2: All right now with number two on this Thursday. Do
- 47:36Speaker 2: you want to give us call? You can do it
- 47:38Speaker 2: at five O two three four fourteen fifty. You want
- 47:40Speaker 2: to text me on the Whiskey Thief text line, you
- 47:42Speaker 2: can do that five O two four to one four
- 47:43Speaker 2: fourteen fifty, or you can tweet me at Just the
- 47:46Speaker 2: Cat Radio. All right, So I looked it up. Did
- 47:48Speaker 2: you look it up? By chance? What the Anthony Davis Show.
- 47:52Speaker 2: We were just talking about your second again Okay, what's that.
- 47:55Speaker 2: That's when I was reading you the episodes, reading your
- 47:57Speaker 2: second ago. Yeah. Foul play, yeah is the name of it. Yeah,
- 48:01Speaker 2: And that's exactly what they do, so they get their
- 48:06Speaker 2: The show features elite athletes and celebrities teaming up to
- 48:10Speaker 2: pull elaborate punk style pranks on superstar Friends. So there
- 48:15Speaker 2: you go. And evidently there's an episode with Lebron James
- 48:18Speaker 2: and Anthony Davis pranking Draymond Green. Sounds hilarious. Yeah, that's
- 48:24Speaker 2: kind of what I thought. And it's like, first of all,
- 48:29Speaker 2: they show Anthony Davis being interviewed, why do we have
- 48:32Speaker 2: to wear sunglasses? I don't get the whole sunglasses inside thing,
- 48:37Speaker 2: you know, just like there were a few celebrities last
- 48:39Speaker 2: night at the Knicks spurs Gate wearing sunglasses in a
- 48:44Speaker 2: basketball game. Why are they doing that? Is it just
- 48:48Speaker 2: to look cool? To me? Where it distracts me? I
- 48:51Speaker 2: think you look dumb.
- 48:52Speaker 3: I mean most people, it's just like an accessory. I
- 48:55Speaker 3: used to think the same thing. Wouldever, like performers or
- 48:58Speaker 3: anything would wear sunglasses on stage? Yes, And then like
- 49:01Speaker 3: I had the epiphany, I was like, oh, that these
- 49:03Speaker 3: giant bright lights shining at them the whole game, it's
- 49:06Speaker 3: probably gonna be in to wear sunglasses, you know.
- 49:09Speaker 2: What I mean. I don't think I would want to
- 49:10Speaker 2: wear sunglasses. I just get accustomed to the bright lights.
- 49:13Speaker 2: But they could, but you can't see the crowd, like
- 49:15Speaker 2: you're blinded. It's like a flash bang in your face
- 49:17Speaker 2: for three hours of so, so that makes sense. But yes,
- 49:20Speaker 2: when you go out or you see people that like
- 49:22Speaker 2: are getting interviewed or they're on TV and they're in
- 49:25Speaker 2: their house and they have sunglasses, like, yeah, it's just
- 49:27Speaker 2: an accessory, it's all yeah, all right. For instance, it
- 49:31Speaker 2: was getting ready to rain during the Belmont Day last
- 49:34Speaker 2: weekend at Saratoga, and I'm undercover and here comes this
- 49:39Speaker 2: guy walking down with sunglasses on, and I'm like, why
- 49:42Speaker 2: are you wearing sunglasses? I just he wasn't anybody a
- 49:46Speaker 2: celebrity or I just I don't know. I just don't care.
- 49:48Speaker 2: The show I was trying to think of from MTV
- 49:51Speaker 2: was ridiculousness. Oh yeah, with a Rob your Deck is
- 49:55Speaker 2: that what his name is? I have no idea who
- 49:57Speaker 2: he is. I think you don't know who Rob your
- 49:58Speaker 2: Deck is? No, I don't who is he?
- 50:00Speaker 3: He was a professional skater for a long time, and
- 50:02Speaker 3: then he got really famous because he did that show. Uh,
- 50:05Speaker 3: Robin Big I've never heard of EA one. It's a
- 50:08Speaker 3: reality show where him and his security guard, like Big
- 50:11Speaker 3: Black was his name.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I don't watch reality shows. Oh, that's just such a
- 50:14Speaker 2: good show. It is.
- 50:16Speaker 3: No, it really is. Like it was on MTV. It
- 50:19Speaker 3: like ran MTV for a long time. Really, I was
- 50:22Speaker 3: growing up.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's probably an age gap thing because I
- 50:25Speaker 2: just I've never gotten into reality shows. I just think
- 50:28Speaker 2: they're dumb, like the one they did here in Louisville.
- 50:32Speaker 2: It was Southern something. I was actually in one of
- 50:35Speaker 2: the shows I have no idea were talking about. All right,
- 50:38Speaker 2: there was some kind of dumb reality show that was
- 50:41Speaker 2: happening here in Louisville. And I was trying to go
- 50:44Speaker 2: into the stadium there at U of L the football stadium.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I think I don't remember what game. It wasn't a
- 50:51Speaker 2: UK game. My boys wanted to go see a football game.
- 50:54Speaker 2: That was the only game that was happening, and we
- 50:56Speaker 2: went down there. I was trying to find tickets. This
- 50:59Speaker 2: lady walked right in front of me and bumps into me,
- 51:01Speaker 2: and then all these cameras are around us, and I'm like, oh,
- 51:06Speaker 2: excuse me, and then just kept walking, and then somebody
- 51:10Speaker 2: kept running after me and sir sir, and I'm like,
- 51:13Speaker 2: what do you want? We need you to sign this document?
- 51:16Speaker 2: Uh for a TV show you just got into. And
- 51:19Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm not signing any document. Have a nice day.
- 51:22Speaker 2: And I just kept walking. So I don't think I
- 51:24Speaker 2: was ever in it, cause why do you have to
- 51:27Speaker 2: sign a document because you ran into some girl. Now
- 51:30Speaker 2: you're onto some dumb reality show so they can show
- 51:33Speaker 2: your face. I know you can't show my face. I
- 51:35Speaker 2: don't want you to. I mean, you don't have to
- 51:37Speaker 2: sign it. I didn't. I don't know. It doesn't matter.
- 51:42Speaker 2: It was in Kentucky. Yeah, it was a reality show
- 51:45Speaker 2: here in Kentucky probably ten or fifteen years ago. Wasn't
- 51:49Speaker 2: Southern Charm or anything like that. It was just dumb.
- 51:52Speaker 2: All those Southern bells, that's it. Southern bells. That was it.
- 51:56Speaker 2: It's like, it's yeah, how long did that thing last
- 52:00Speaker 2: a season? They're all dumb. I never got into the Kardashians.
- 52:05Speaker 2: I never. I did get into Hulk Cogan a little bit.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I did like that one. It only had one of them.
- 52:12Speaker 2: One season. There you go. That's how dumb it was. Yeah,
- 52:16Speaker 2: it's all just real. They're they're acting. I mean it's scripted.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Don't you think Housewives of Atlanta, Housewives of Las Vegas
- 52:26Speaker 2: or LA I mean those are all dumb. Yeah, that's
- 52:29Speaker 2: kind of what it's.
- 52:30Speaker 3: It says, get a sneak peek of the blah blah
- 52:32Speaker 3: Southern Bell's Louisville Countdown to the Bell Special. Yeah, uh,
- 52:35Speaker 3: it's it's basically the Southern It's basically like Louisville Housewives.
- 52:38Speaker 2: What this is a hard pass? Name one reality show
- 52:43Speaker 2: that is actually really good?
- 52:47Speaker 3: What's the one with Oh my god? Like, why I'm
- 52:52Speaker 3: blanking on his name right now? That sounds like a
- 52:54Speaker 3: fantastic reality show. No, like really famous rockstar. I'm literally
- 52:58Speaker 3: just blanking on his name.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Oh you're talking about Ozzy Osmon. Yes, I think his
- 53:03Speaker 2: was good. I like I like the Ozzie Osmore show.
- 53:05Speaker 2: That was pretty good, the one with the kiss Gene Simmons.
- 53:10Speaker 2: They had one, Yeah, he had one. I don't remember
- 53:13Speaker 2: what the name of it was. It was all right.
- 53:16Speaker 2: But it's not like I have to watch these shows.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I think most of them are just the dumbest things in
- 53:20Speaker 2: the world. But UK football signs yet another four star commit.
- 53:25Speaker 2: And here's the thing about it that's making it a
- 53:28Speaker 2: big deal. It's another offensive lineman to six five, two
- 53:31Speaker 2: hundred and eighty pounds out of New Madison, Ohio. Dominic
- 53:39Speaker 2: black Is his name beats out i U, Virginia Tech,
- 53:43Speaker 2: West Virginia, and Tennessee. Is considered the twelfth ranked offensive
- 53:50Speaker 2: lineman in the country. Man UK now has five players
- 53:55Speaker 2: in the class of twenty seven out of Ohio, I mean,
- 53:58Speaker 2: and that makes for seven four star players. UK has
- 54:02Speaker 2: made a real concentration Matthew going to Ohio and proving
- 54:07Speaker 2: that hey, we can go up there and get players
- 54:08Speaker 2: to come down here. This is this has been remarkable.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Take your take your rose colored glasses and you'r u
- 54:15Speaker 2: of L fanned him off right now. You gotta admit
- 54:18Speaker 2: this is really surprising. In the few months that will
- 54:22Speaker 2: Stein has been in Lexington, Kentucky, he's made an impact. Now,
- 54:27Speaker 2: whether or not that turns it around on the field,
- 54:29Speaker 2: that's a different story. But as far as recruiting, he's
- 54:32Speaker 2: made a solid impact for UK.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Agreed, No, yeah, I don't think it's like I'm gonna
- 54:37Speaker 3: actually oppositely. I don't think it's very surprising at all,
- 54:40Speaker 3: is it not?
- 54:41Speaker 2: It is to me.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I mean, he's played in a national championship caliber university
- 54:44Speaker 3: or not. Coach sorry, coach Orgagan for multiple little thirty
- 54:48Speaker 3: years has built an incredible resume as a coach. It
- 54:52Speaker 3: does not surprise me that, you know, he becomes a
- 54:54Speaker 3: head coach and has his success with recruiting. I mean,
- 54:57Speaker 3: gods want to play for a dude who has his
- 54:59Speaker 3: hands all over the offense, you know, has you know,
- 55:01Speaker 3: he's a guy who's been to the playoff like guys
- 55:04Speaker 3: want to play for guys like that. Yeah, Now do
- 55:06Speaker 3: you get a little bit of a bump when you
- 55:08Speaker 3: go to a new team for the first time, for sure,
- 55:09Speaker 3: because you get more resource in this and that. So
- 55:12Speaker 3: it's gonna be on him in that twenty seven class
- 55:14Speaker 3: in twenty eight to show that, hey, I'm not just
- 55:17Speaker 3: a recruiter, I can also coach and then if he can,
- 55:18Speaker 3: then he can keep that up forever.
- 55:20Speaker 2: That's the one spot that UK has really slid ever since.
- 55:23Speaker 2: John Schlarman's passing is the big blue wall, and will
- 55:27Speaker 2: Stein has made a consorted effort to make certain that
- 55:30Speaker 2: not only is he going to get great offensive players
- 55:33Speaker 2: quarterback wise, running back wise, wide receiver wise, but hey,
- 55:36Speaker 2: don't forget you got to protect the quarterback. And that's
- 55:39Speaker 2: where it's really slid the past few seasons. And with
- 55:44Speaker 2: him going and getting really a solid offensive line right now,
- 55:50Speaker 2: just granted, they got to stay there a couple of years.
- 55:52Speaker 2: It's not like we can't have this one and done stuff.
- 55:55Speaker 2: On the football side, they got to be committed to
- 55:58Speaker 2: come into Kentucky and playing there for two or three seasons.
- 56:01Speaker 2: And if that's the case, he is putting together a
- 56:04Speaker 2: solid offense without a doubt. And I'm really excited about now.
- 56:09Speaker 2: The other thing that came out, which why is everybody
- 56:11Speaker 2: surprised about this? You know, Matt Ponitowski has always said
- 56:16Speaker 2: he wants to play baseball, and of course the draft
- 56:20Speaker 2: is getting ready to happen, and Matt Ponitowski said, first
- 56:27Speaker 2: and foremost, I want to play baseball. Okay, will Stein
- 56:33Speaker 2: came out and said, if you're drafted in the first
- 56:36Speaker 2: round and get a huge contract, you'd be stupid not
- 56:39Speaker 2: to go play baseball. And yet people are going, why
- 56:42Speaker 2: would you say something like that, Well, that's what your
- 56:45Speaker 2: head coach is supposed to say, aren't they, Matthew, Yeah,
- 56:48Speaker 2: I mean he's not at Kentucky yet. But if he
- 56:50Speaker 2: gets drafted and gets offered a lot of money, don't
- 56:54Speaker 2: you think the best thing for him to do if
- 56:56Speaker 2: he wants to go play baseball, what is to go
- 56:58Speaker 2: play baseball? What do you want him to say? Say?
- 57:01Speaker 2: That's the other part exactly.
- 57:02Speaker 3: I wanted to tell this kid, Hey, this is this
- 57:05Speaker 3: is obviously this is not the little fan.
- 57:06Speaker 2: This is mean just sports fan.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Like if I was a kid who grew up except
- 57:11Speaker 3: an exceptional athlete at two sports, one being baseball, you
- 57:15Speaker 3: can get drafted at a super early age and football
- 57:17Speaker 3: that you know you have to obviously play three years.
- 57:20Speaker 3: And somebody comes to me and says, hey, we want
- 57:22Speaker 3: to give you X amount of money and we will
- 57:24Speaker 3: draft you this year you will be a professional baseball player.
- 57:28Speaker 3: You want my head coach to tell me, No, you
- 57:31Speaker 3: can't do that. We need you here for three years. No,
- 57:33Speaker 3: that's not gonna happen. Like he's gonna give you the
- 57:35Speaker 3: option to choose what you want to do, especially if
- 57:38Speaker 3: like we've I feel like we've known that Matt Ponatowski
- 57:41Speaker 3: has wanted to be a professional baseball player for a
- 57:43Speaker 3: long time. He did the he did the MLB workouts
- 57:46Speaker 3: before coming to UK. He did all that stuff. So no,
- 57:49Speaker 3: this is not surprised me at all. And I don't
- 57:51Speaker 3: think he should be upset for will Stein for talking. No,
- 57:53Speaker 3: absolutely not that you took it right out of my mouth.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Is that what is he supposed to say? You got
- 58:01Speaker 3: to stay in Kentucky. It looks bad, can't go exactly exactly.
- 58:06Speaker 3: So I thought that that is exactly how he should respond.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Nobody should be surprised by that, and I respect will
- 58:15Speaker 3: Stein for saying that. So the kickoff times were released
- 58:19Speaker 3: yesterday September fifth. UK plays at I mean it's one o'clock.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I mean, that's not a surprise right there. It's not
- 58:29Speaker 3: much of a game. And so there you go Alabama
- 58:34Speaker 3: September twelve, first secs. Only the second game of the year.
- 58:38Speaker 3: It's on primetime. In fact, two weeks in a row,
- 58:42Speaker 3: UK goes on prime time against Alabama and then they
- 58:46Speaker 3: head down to Texas A and M. I mean that's
- 58:50Speaker 3: that's putting a network, putting a lot of faith that
- 58:53Speaker 3: UK is going to put together a pretty good team
- 58:55Speaker 3: against these two teams right here, Matthew.
- 58:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they want to see what will Stein
- 58:59Speaker 2: can do. Yeah, they definitely do.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Uh.
- 59:01Speaker 2: September twenty six, not another surprise. They played twelve forty
- 59:05Speaker 2: five on the SEC network.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Uh.
- 59:08Speaker 2: October third, it's it's what we don't know yet. It's
- 59:12Speaker 2: one of those swing one so it's at South Carolina.
- 59:16Speaker 2: It's going to be either three thirty to four thirty
- 59:19Speaker 2: or six to eight, So I I would I don't
- 59:24Speaker 2: know when out South Carolina is one of those games. Man,
- 59:27Speaker 2: that's a game I'm desperately want to win. And uh
- 59:33Speaker 2: put the you know, the little head coach down there
- 59:35Speaker 2: back in his place. I know he was dominating Mark Stoops,
- 59:38Speaker 2: but maybe will Stein can turn that around. I would
- 59:41Speaker 2: like to see Shane Beemer just not be able to
- 59:43Speaker 2: say anything about that game. I'm sure he's got a
- 59:47Speaker 2: little confidence thinking that he can win that game. October tenth,
- 59:52Speaker 2: it's LSU. It's gonna be either six to eight pm.
- 59:57Speaker 2: I'm glad that game is in Lexi because if it
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: was six to eight pm and you get all those
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Cajun Tiger fans down there. I never like playing LSU
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: at a night game because man, they tailgate like crazy.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Then you got Oklahoma at Oklahoma, it's one of those
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: flex games three thirty to four thirty, or it could
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: be six to eight, who knows. Then you got Vanderbilt
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: in Lexington. It's gonna be a night game six to eight,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: which I like. That way you can go to Keenland,
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: enjoy yourself, all that kind of stuff. November seventh at Tennessee,
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: it's a night game. I wish that was more of
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: a day game, but it's okay. I don't like playing
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Tennessee at night, but it's gonna be either six to eight.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Florida comes to town November fourteenth, it's gonna be a
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: night game. I love that, and I'll tell you why
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: in a minute. Then you got Missouri at Missouri November
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: twenty seventh, that's going to be a night game six
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: to eight pm. Uh. And then you got U of
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: L coming to Lexington. That's a noon to one, which
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I don't like. All right, let's go through the games,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Matthew that I like the time. Okay, I'm hoping that
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: South well, we don't care about South Carolina because it's there.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: I love the fact that most of the games. Let
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: me look here all in fact, all the games that
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: are in October. If it's a daytime game, it's away.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: If it's a nighttime game, or if it's a home game,
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: it's it's at night. Now you can have a full
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: day as a UK fan, go to Keenland, have a
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: big tailgate, and then go to the ballgame. I think
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: it worked out perfectly as far because you know all
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: the UK fans love going to their Keenland and the
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: day and the game at night. Are you okay? Your
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: eyes are watery? Yeah?
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: I think I'm just like having an allergy thing over here.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Are getting all draw out of nowhere? Let's not do
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: that now we're talking about kickoff. Okay, I'll stop it. Okay, good,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: thank you. I appreciate that, bother you.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: Here's the part I love the most though, finally, because
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I'm telling you, Steve Spurrier made it happen. He always
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: wanted to play Kentucky early because it would be warm.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Now we're going to play Florida when we should be
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: playing them November, the middle of November at night and
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: it should be cold. That makes an advantage for Kentucky,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: right there? Is that fair to.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Say yeah, I mean, yeah, it definitely does.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we've seen that.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: You know, Mysington can be an issue for those southern
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: teams in the SEC. So if you can get them
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: at at night tom on your home field, it's definitely
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: worth it.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: I don't like this. I'm almost to the point where
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I might switch how I feel on a couple of
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: these games. And we're gonna do that anyway, am I really?
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Why is that?
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: Because when we come to the point where you're really
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: breaking it down, you're about a week out, you're gonna
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: you're gonna talk yourself and I don't know, this team
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: could get.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Three or four to be like, I mean, maybe something
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: could happen. I know, we all and.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: That's not okay, that's not just I mean we all
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: do it. Like when we had Kenny Payne as a
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: basketball coach, even after winning four games, I was like,
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe people are right, maybe he's gonna
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: figure it out.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Yeah that is funny though, because you nailed me right
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: right there on it. Because that probably will happen. I'll think, Okay,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: I got to rethink some of these games now and uh,
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: and all of a sudden, my heart's ruled in my head,
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: and then uh, oh, you're only going.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: To find it fun to go into a season with
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: without hope.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: That's true, Yeah you do. And uh and of course
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: you know we're dying for hope. We're dying for success
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: when it comes to not just football but UK football
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: and basketball. We need some good to start happening again
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: it had happened. Now, as a U of L fan,
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: do you like this game being played at noon or one? No?
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Why I don't like it?
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Cause it's just say, until we switched the date for
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: when this game is this is the only time or
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: like in that three o'clock slot nobody cares about, Like
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: these are the only times that we're gonna have this game.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna watch it.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Like, yeah, it's cool to say that you're a part
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: of rivalry week and stuff like that, but nobody's watching
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: your game, like nobody's watching us play.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: The UK and U of L fans are watching it.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: And that's it. And then you have the you have
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: the situation.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: And then now I'm gonna go ahead and preface that
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: last season was the worst possible scenario. You had one
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: team that was looked like had a really good push
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: for a playoff fall out at the end of the season.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: The other one was trying to get rid of their
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: head coach, So therefore, no.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: It was meaningless. Yeah.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: I don't want to say nobody cared, because obviously everybody.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Once the game starts, people do care. But in comparison
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: to what it would feel like at the beginning of
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: the season, when you have all like this time right now.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: We would be talking about uku of l F.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: Yes, I'd be talking about how Will Stein is gonna
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: be the worst coach in Kentucky's history, and then you'd
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: be telling me about how Jeff Brawm is it like.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: We would be doing that stuff right yeah.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Whereas when you have at the end of the season
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: and stuff like that happens, where both teams have a
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: mediocre season, you're like, Okay, I mean you beat us,
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: congrats we lost our last four games. You know, they're like,
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: I don't know, I can't stand it being the other
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: if it's like if they had like a basketball rivalry week,
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: that makes total sense. People would understand Louisville and Kentucky
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: being in there, but football is just not important.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't rank up there with Let's talk about
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: the big rivalries Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State. Florida is
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: a big rivalry. Alabama Auburn is a big rivalry, Texas, Oklahoma,
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: those are the big ones. Nobody. You're right, nobody cares
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: outside of the state of Kentucky about uk U of L.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: Now if this and you know, will Stein talked about
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: this on this show about a month ago. He really
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: wants to see that game change. Just like you said,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: he wants it to be the first of the season.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I'm kind of like that.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: And the fact that this game is played at noon,
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: which means the less people are gonna watch because Ohio
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: State Michigan's gonna play at noon.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Oh it is well because Fox does big noon kickoff. Okay,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: you're right about that. Nobody gonna be watching this game.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: So in order for you to me it does make
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: it a lot more fun, because you're right, we would
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: be talking about it right now. We would be talking
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: about it in June, July, and obviously August getting ready
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: for that matchup, and we're not going to be uh,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: the entire country, well I wouldn't say the entire country,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: but a good portion of the country would tune in
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: to see UK U of L play because it's a
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: rivalry game. Rivalry game, and it's the first one of
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: the season.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: You got to think every other team in the country,
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: like like Kentucky's first game is Youngstown State, that's gonna
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: be ninety percent of the country. Are they gonna look,
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: Are they gonna watch Alabama beat up on Saint Margaret
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Mary of the Woods, or are they gonna watch Louisville
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: Kentucky play and your week Yeah?
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: That think it's a lot of attention for both schools.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: That helps with recruiting, That helps with all kinds of stuff,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: helps the schools make money. They got to make money.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: I'm with will Sein, I'm with you. I think this
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: game should change, not be the last game of the year.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Forget about the stupid rivalry. Make it the first game
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: of the year and then you stand out positive way. Well,
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: you know it's supposed to be a rivalry weekend. That
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: weekend I was missing. I was missinterpeting with Yeah, that's okay.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: And Tennessee and Vanderbilt's not a rivalry. Just make it
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: UK Tennessee again. Bandaba can go play somebody else. It's
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: all been dictated by the SEC, which drives me nuts.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: So I think you and I both are onto something.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Will Stein is onto something. It needs to happen, and
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: I hope will Seign can make it happen. So we'll
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: just have to see if it does or not. Uh
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: should u K be ranked? You see where the power
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: rankings came out for the SEC for the Southeastern Conference,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: they ranked Kentucky fifteenth out of sixteen teams? Do you
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: think they're deserved to be in the power rankings at fifteenth?
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: That's to me, that's more. Who do they put above them? Everybody?
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: I'm at like, like, directly, what are the teams? Directly
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Misissippi State? I think I don't have it in front
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: of me. Unfortunately, Yeah, Mississippi State was above them. I
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: believe Vanderbilt was above them. I think the only team
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: that was below them was Arkansas, So that just takes
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: everybody else up there. I believe Mississippi State was fourteenth.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Trying to think who the schools are that would be Auburn,
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: I cannot stand on three. I'm not I don't want
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: to pay to see what the power rankings are. It
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: should be on there somewhere else though, But okay, well
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: let's go ahead and take a break and then we'll
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: I'll find them again and I can read them to you.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: So anyway five two three eight four fourteen fifty Favelo
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: two four one four fourteen fifty on the Whiskey Thief
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: text line. Now, I'll get back to your Texas soon
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: as we get back as well. Stay right there. More
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: justcats coming right up, all right. Fiblo two three four
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. You want to call in, Fiblo two four
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: one four fourteen fifty, you want to text in. So
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I got power rankings, and it seems like it's interchangeable
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: between Mississippi State and Kentucky. So some have Kentucky at fifteen,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: some have a Mississippi State at fifteen. The one I'm
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: looking at right now has Mississippi State right there, but
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Arkansas is pretty consistent at sixteen. Then you got Vandabilt
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: above them, South Carolina, Florida, Auburn, Missouri. That rounds out
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: the first nine uh they eight goes to ten, LSU seven,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Alabama six, Texting h fifth, Old miss uh fourth, Oklahoma third,
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: Georgia second in Texas won.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: This list is terrible. That's what I thought, that this
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: list is horrible. How many times. Like, I get that
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Texas is always going to be good because they just
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: have that much money and they can just you know,
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: recruit whoever they want. Yeah, but what did we see
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: from this past year that Texas should be the number
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: one team? See again, what do we see from last
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: year that says Oklahoma should better than Old Miss or Georgia? Like,
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I don't, I don't get Vanderbilt being as low as twelfth.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I don't understand that. I don't either, But a new
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: quarterback coming in that's the only thing I can think of,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: So no more diego Pavia. Does that make a difference
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: than your quarterbacks? A five star plus quarterback first time playing? Though? Still,
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I mean you know what I mean? Like, I mean,
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: what are we looking at here? Does that not?
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: Does the five he's not even he's a five star plus?
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Like he stole them from Georgia? Yeah, does that mean anything?
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: We're twelve?
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: But he's saying that. Would I have heard about that
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: young man going to Vanderbilt. He wants to play immediately.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: So he's going to Vanderbilt to play immediately for one
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: year and then transfer to Georgia. Do you buy that
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: story or do you think he stays at Vanderbilt I think.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: I mean, I don't. I won't sit here and put
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: steaks on anybody's staying at any.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: School if I'm a great athlete. But no of the
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: athletes think you about this anymore. It's all about getting
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: professional sports. If I'm a great athlete, and you're telling me,
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: I can go to Vanderbilt and get a free education
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: and a degree from Vanderbilt University and get paid at
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: the same time. I mean, I go to Vanderbilt. I mean,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: they don't care about this. They don't. But who am
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: I to say? I mean, not that everybody else is
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: a bad education. I mean I got mine in Kentucky.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: But Vangebilt, you know, that's a that's a pretty good education.
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: I get that.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: I mean, Kentucky is not going to be like high
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: on this list because of what they did last season,
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: and you know you have a rand new head coach
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: coming in.
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Your whole team is transferport. I get that stuff. But
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: I will say they deserve to be above Mississippi State
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: and Auburn. Auburn I think in Arkansas, well.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Arkansas, well they are already above Arkansas. And this
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: at least what I'm looking at yeah, so they deserve
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: to be at least thirteen.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Vanderbilt should they be above Florida.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: That one's tough for me because they're both in the
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: very similar situations.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: I agree.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I think that John Somemrall has kind of put together
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: a better.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: All around team. Do you think so?
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: I think that Kentucky has different has better, has some
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: better pieces, Like I think their offensive line is better.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that. I think their quarterback, I think
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: the quarterback situation is better.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: Can I think the quarterback situation can be better. But
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: I think John Sumrall has kind of pieced the skills
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: positions together better. Which, if you're together like lists of
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: power rankings, the skills visions are what are gonna reign supreme.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: You know, you could have a great o line, but
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: maybe a really bad quarterback or whide receiver corps and
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: you're running back can't do anything because they have nobody,
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: you know what I mean, there's no room. Yeah, so
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: I don't think Florida should be as high as they are,
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: but I do think that they're probably a head of
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Kentucky right now.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, I'm surprised Florida's ahead of South Carolina. I mean,
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: I mean, at least Beamer has been there. This is
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: somewhere All's first season. Uh, but I don't. I don't
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: think Beamer is that be All end All. I think
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: he missed his opportunity to go back and get a
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: good job, good salary at Virginia Tech and be beloved there.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Because they're gonna he's not gonna put together a good
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: team this next season. He's gonna lose his job and
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: he's gonna be out of coaching as a head coach.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: One person said, I can't wait till everyone how great
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Marcus can be for UK. I don't get what this means.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: I read it anyway. Do you understand what he's talking about? You?
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: Marcus can be at UK, he played at UMass. Why
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: are we talking about Mark kan I.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Think he's making the joke because we were talking about
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: people claiming John Calgary players.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I got cha. Uh Okay, that's right. Okay,
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: that is a pretty good joke. Then they wear One
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: person said they wear sunglasses because they are stoned to
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: the bone. Michael, Oh my gosh, I'm not getting enough
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: credit for that last joke. That was a pretty good
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: joke there. Okay, not the sunglasses, the Marcus camby d
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: uk That was a good joke. I understand it now,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Ohio guys said, Uh, Taylor Swift's Knicks fandom goes deep
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: see link above? Does it really? Is this a joker?
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Is this? Uh?
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: I'm opening it so it's loading, you know if it's
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: a joke or not. This computer with lots of new
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: faces in the crowd. Don't see her singing them out.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Nicks are falling apart at the seams. Okay, well, this
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: is Dave Portinoy pretty this picture up of her as
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: a Knicks fan. I actually think Jesus was resurrected before
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: this computer was made.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Okay, well that could be true. I don't know because
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: it's still loading. Is it really? Okay? It shows her
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: a bunch of pictures and Knicks outfits with different people,
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: with Jimmy Fallon, who I think is not even close
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: to being funny. I still wonder how he has a
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: night show. But anyway, Okay, Well maybe that's right, Ohio guys.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: So maybe she is more of a Knicks fan than
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: I give her credit for, and maybe the announcers for
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: the Knicks basketball team should not make fun of her
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: and she shouldn't be there, but that's what they said.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: I sure hope the new guy running the show is
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: a UK fan. Also, I think it would be fun
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: to have John Wong and Matt Sack on the show sometime.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: Who's Matt Zach?
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Matt Sack runs the reughtan no Good podcast, This is
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Kentucky Central podcast comes on? He comes on a KR season.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Oh really?
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Also, like how it was gone for like two months
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: on the show. Now nobody remembers who I am.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: I know, I don't. I don't get that either.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Like a third time in the past week that somebody's
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: been like this new guy.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: You didn't know who the new guy is. The new
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: guy is not a new guy. It's Matthew. Matthew Childress
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: was on the show regularly for what four or five
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: six months? Yeah, since I started here, and then you
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: dumped on me, I dump on you. But Matt Sack
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: is he a nice guy? Yeah, he's a nice guy.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: I don't really know him. I shouldn't say really, I
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: don't know him at all.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: He's younger, he's around he's younger than me. Oh really,
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: I think he's like twenty four.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: Okay, Well, maybe I'll consider having John Wonga Matt Sack
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: on I don't know how to get a hold of him.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: I mean, do you have a way to get a
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: hold of him.
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: I mean he's on Twitter, but I don't think he
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: follows me or off follow him. I've only met him
- 1:16:39Speaker 3: like once or twice. Oh so he don't have his
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: phone number. No, okay, he's just I've just met him.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: When he comes on Caresel, I'll look him up text
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: here and see who he is, and maybe we will. Uh.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Considering Matt's love for the Patriots and coconut water, it
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: sounds like he wants to try Tom Brady's good nut.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: Look if Tom Brady sends me ay of his good nut,
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: I'll try it.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Just the thought of you saying that, please don't ever
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: make that statement again. Okay, that is not what I
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: want to hear. I think Matthew was crying because the
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: times were too perfect. Oh my gosh, I love when
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: we start getting that's from Patrick. By the way, thank
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: you Patrick. One person said Max Sack is low hanging fruit.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: My gosh, here we go, My gosh, is he really?
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: I just don't know who Matt Sack is. I gotta
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: look about that joke. Oh, oh, okay, thanks, I didn't
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: catch it now I do. Thank you for the explanation.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Everyone knows Doormatt, although given this week, I figured your
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: name might be Matthew Ryan.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: Not No is definitely on it. I appreciate you. Remember
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: who I Am.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: A reality show that both of you would like is
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Love and Hip Hop. I've heard of that one. I
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: have not watched it. Thank you. Oh guy, I've never
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: watched that.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: This is ohioga. I feel like this is very sarcastic. Yeah,
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: I like he's trying to make fun of us. Yeah,
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: I think so, dude, that's okay. I don't care. It
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: didn't bother me. I'm just I was just saying, like,
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: I'm not gonna take that as a genuine recommendational.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: Love and hip Hop. Yeah, I don't know. I've seen
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: the commercials for it. I have zero interesting there. Again,
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: there is not a reality show out there right now
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: that I have any interest in tuning. Oh, I gotta
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: watch this tonight. So my zero.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: So Paulina loves the show Love Island. Have you heard
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: of that one? I've heard of that one. Yeah, it
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: looks absolutely ridiculous. So she asked me to watch it
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: with her while we were on our trip, man, and
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: I was like, this is the cringiest show I've ever seen?
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: Is it really is the worst television program I've ever watched.
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: I'm hooked what I watch it every day? Now, you
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: have got to be kidding me serious, It's it's like
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: it's not and it's not good. I'm not I would
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: never recommend it to somebody. It's not good. It's just
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: I love secondhand embarrassment. It's my favorite form of comedy.
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Like I love watching people like try and tell a
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: joke and bomb it's so it's hilarious to me. This
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: show is entirely secondhand embarrassment. It's like, Wow, they're doing
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: that on national television right now, and like it makes
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: like I can see I look over her and she's
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: like win saying, I'm like, I'm like, this is amazing.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: I love this really. Okay, I will not be watching it.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I have zero interest. You don't have to.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: I'm just like, it's oh, it's something that I never
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: would have expected that I would enjoy.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: And every time we're together we watching. My wife got
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: addicted to a show called uh Southern Charm. I've heard
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: of that one, but I based in Charleston, South Carolina.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: I watch, I said, okay, I'll watch one episode. It
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: took me five minutes. It's like, I can't watch this.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: This is the I don't see how as smart as
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: you are, Patricia. You went to Vanderbilt University, got an
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: unbelievable degree at Vanderbilt. In fact, you got three degrees
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: from Vanderbilt. I find you highly intelligent. Other than you
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: married me. I think that was one of your moments
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: of weakness. And uh and you watched the dumbest reality
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: show known to man. It was the dumbest thing I've
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: ever seen. I didn't get it, so thank the LORDA
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: didn't have to watch it again. Uh TB's good nut
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: can't be all that. Our Giselle wouldn't be a black
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: belt in jiu jitsu right now. Jeez, all right, Jamie,
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: I love your stuff. I just want you to know,
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: all right, we gotta take our last break. When we
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: come back, I'm giving Matthew the show. It's all his.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: The next segment, he gets to talk about his favorite sport.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: We'll talk about I thought it was your favorite sport.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: Football is my favorite se Okay, we'll be talking about
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: we'll be talking about soccer as soon as we get
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: back in and I talk about cringiness, well, that'll be
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: cringey segment for me. Stay right there, last segment of
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Jessicat's coming right up? Yeah, alright, on our last segment today.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: If i've two four, one, four, fourteen fifty, we want
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: to text in on the whisky Thief text line this
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: week is flown by Matthew. Has it for you or no? Well,
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: yeah it has for you because you got in here yesterday. Yeah,
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: so it's really flown by for you. Must be nice.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: But uh anyway, all right, World Cup. I can't believe
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: these words are coming out of my mouth right now.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: The World Cup starts tonight. I what percentage of people
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: in the United States do you think are like me
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: and couldn't care less about the World Cup?
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: You think it's that much, I couldn't care at all.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: I think it's a low number. We're talking about the
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: percentage of the entire country. Yes, twenty percent doesn't care. Okay,
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: that's more than I would have said. I would have
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: figured a lot more people. I think that that's me
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: saying tonight tomorrow in the United States plays that'll be
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: a shorter.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Number you think it will be. Yeah, what number do
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: you think it'll be tomorrow night with the USA? I
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: think I think ten percent will not care? Really, Yeah,
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: how much of the game do you think I'll watch?
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: You won't watch any of them? No, I won't And
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: that's okay. I don't know. I just if they get
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: into maybe the finals, I might watch it the finals. Yeah, yeah, sorry.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: They gotta make a zero interest.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: They gotta make the most elite matchup in sport, in
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: sports for you to be like, oh, I guess I'll
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: turn it all that.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: Might turn on maybe ten minutes of it. I just
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: I think soccer is the absolute most boring sport in
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: the country ever, in ed I would either watch anything
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: out there, and I mean anything, Sorry, but go ahead,
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: let's talk about it. I do want to talk about
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: it because I know I'm in the minority, and I
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: know there are a lot of people out there that
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: are excited and I'm happy for you, but because you know,
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: Chattanooga's got one of the what is it the Spain
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: that the Spain's team is staying in Chattanooga of all
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: places national team? How are they doing that? Why aren't
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: they staying in Atlanta. Well, I mean they just they're
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: all over the country. I don't know. Why isn't their
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: team in Louisville. Well, there was supposed to be, Oh
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: there was. What happened, I don't know who screwed that up. Somebody.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: I don't know if they ever fully announced because they
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: were supposed to be practicing at Lynn Family Stadium was
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: where they were training. Oh yeah, and something with logistically
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: with it, and they moved them somewhere else.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Oh great, all right, thanks, So Louisville gets screwed out
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: of it, yet another bit of excitement. You wouldn't even
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: watch it anyway, No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't at all. Uh,
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: but let's talk about because I get it. People are
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: real exciting, and I accept that, and I'm I'm happy that.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: You know, this is for the soccer fans that wear
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: you little scarves and all that kind of stuff in
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the middle of the dead of heat and summer. Good
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: for y'all. I mean, this has got to be a
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: dream come true for you, especially for those people that
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: are going to actually see the game. I've got a
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: buddy that's going out to Atlanta to see a game,
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: and I've got a buddy, and he's not only going
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: to the one in LA he's going to one in Atlanta.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: And I'm like, you like soccer that much? She goes, no,
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: but it's when's the next time it'll be in the
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: United States. I'm like, wow, that's impressive.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Somebody I saw a video of the day there. You
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: can still buy tickets for the World Cup, fine, or
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: like one of the group stage games. It MetLife and
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: dude found a ticket for like three hundred thousand dollars
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: good luck and it was nosebleed.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: Yeah three wait wait, wait wait, you said three hundred
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: thousand dollars. Yes, and he bought it in No, no,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: he didn't buy it.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: He was like pointing it out like this is there's
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: somebody trying to resell that's ridiculous. There was somebody trying
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: to resell the ticket it was. That's what ticks me off.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: And that's what upsets me about Kentucky Derby. That's what
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: upsets me about Super Bowl any of those things. You
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: don't allow the common fan to come to the championship game.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: No sports are done now, it's over, the College of
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Sports is getting that way now. Yeah, right, especially now
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: with how it's going They're going to have to raise
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: ticket prices at some point if they're not regulations put
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: in place, and these players only make certain if it
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: keeps going up at the exponential rate it is, we
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: will be priced out of college sports. Yeah, I agree,
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: So it'll be have to you know, hopefully we'll get
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: lucky and win some tickets or something like that. One
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: person said, I'm in the same boat, Michael, I won't
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: even watch finals for soccer. You guys are such party
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: here we go, So all right, let's talk about it.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: What what all? Right? Team USA plays who tomorrow night
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: play Paraguay? What do you know about Paraguay.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Paraguay is as a decent team. The United States has
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: already beaten them.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Now do you really know this? No, I mean I
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: know I've watched them.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Okay, I won't sit here and name you the players
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: on their time, but I love the fact that you
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: know this. We've seen them play against the United States
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: has beaten them before. The thing about the World Cup is,
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: even if it's a country that you would believe isn't
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: because as United States citizens were used to watching the Olympics,
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: we're used to watching the United States dominate in a
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: lot of sports, right, like track and field, basketball, baseball,
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Like we're used to seeing that a lot, right, this
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: is completely different, Like you cannot overlook anybody like that.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: Like Currosal is a country that's in the World Cup.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: It's the smallest country to ever make the World Cup.
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: I guarantee you they could have a really good chance
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: of making it out of the group stage because of
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: something like you know, it's the first time ever.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: They're gonna play harder. These guys are some of the
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: best players around the world. You can't take anybody for granted.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: And that's the problem with American soccer is there's this
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: stigma that like, oh, it's the United States, they have
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: to be better than their opponents, and they're just not.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: Like we have to understand they're just not. So there
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: is a chance they lose to Paraguay.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: I'm very nervous about this game actually to start out
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: the campaign, because the last couple of months of the
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: United States soccer hasn't really been.
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: What a lot of us have wanted.
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: Unfortunately, it's it's not been bad, could have been better,
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: But I will be excited. They play that game at
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: nine pm tomorrow and I'll be locked in for every
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: single game from therefore.
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: And where's that game being played? That game is being played?
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: Oh gosh, you don't know. I don't know. I don't
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: know the location. It's okay, all right, I think it's
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: West coast. It is what Los Angeles? So are Seattle
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: because that's the place. Because what are the venues they're
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: playing in? They're played Atlanta, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: Where else am I missing? Is Kansas City a part
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: of it? They're playing it so far? Okay, so La. Yeah,
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: they're playing their first game.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: Their next game against Australia would be at Seattle at Luminfield,
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: and then they come back to so Far for their
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: thirty game.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: Why are they playing way out there?
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: That's been a question that the entire United States soccer
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: community has been asking. You'd figure you're able to have
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: a host, you know, for the World Cup, you'd want
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: them on the East Coast, where most of the country,
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: you know, is kind of on similar wavelengths.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: And oh so most of the East Coast is soccer
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: fans more than the West coast.
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: There is a lot of East Coast soccer fans. Okay,
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: all right, but people are. It's just so they can
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: play it so far, and then the finals are going
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: to be in Atlanta, right, the finals are going to
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: be a MetLife. Oh they are on medline. I was
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: thinking Atlanta for some reasons. They're going to be a
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: met life in New York City. Are well outside of
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: New York City?
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: Okay? Who's playing tonight? Tonight? Is? The first game?
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: Is South America versus Mexico. Yes, South America vers some Mexico.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Who South America or South of Africa? Sorry, not South America,
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: South Africa.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: Okay, it's playing so South Africa, which combines one. Yeah,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: they're playing Mexico.
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: It's at three pm, and then at ten pm, Chechia
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: is playing South Korea.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Do you know anything about any of those teams? Right there?
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: South Korea has one of my favorite soccer players of
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: all time?
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Oh really?
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: And Sung Hung men? Wow, very good.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: He is thirty one years old. He's older, but he
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: played for my favorite team for really long time. South
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Korea is a pretty good team. Mexico is very much.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: They beat the United States for the first time in
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: a long time this past year. Whenever the United S,
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: who's kind of on their downturn when they were getting
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: a new manager and everything. So I'm not expecting a
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: lot out of Mexico in this tournament. They're not incredible,
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: but they did beat us, so that should be a
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: bad sign for what's to come possible.
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: But there's new rules for this World Cup.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: So normally the top two teams in the four team
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: group move on to the round of sixteen. It was
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: a whole another round now, so they're bringing in a
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: third team, so you only have to be one of
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: the top three to make it into sorry, one of
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: the three of the top four to make it into
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: the next to the knockout stage. So it's one where
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: if the United States can somehow not get out of
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: their group, it's extremely embarrassing. You just kind of got
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: the whole You just kind of got the whole soccer federation. Okay,
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: so there's a.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Lot of pressure on the United States when you're hosting
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: to make it to the next level.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: Yes, I think the last tournament in Katar was the
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: I don't don't know the exactly, the first time in
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: a long long time that the host city, the host
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: country didn't make it to the knockout stage like that.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: It's usually grouped in a way that the host cities
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: all have a really good chance of making it out.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: And so how long is this whole thing. It's a month.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: It's a month long. They'll be playing here in the
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: United States. So we got to put up with this
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: for a month. If I can survive it, I'll be okay.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: You get to put up with it for that's okay. Uh.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: Do you think any of the pricing will come down
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: or as long as the United States keeps winning, the
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: pricing will just go up up.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: If the United States keeps winning, Yeah, it'll keep going
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: up if they if they lose early, let's say they
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: let's say worst case scenario, they don't make it out
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: of group stage. I think that we'll start to see
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: FIFA bring some of these tickets down because they're not
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: selling out all of these games because of how much
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: they cost, and compared to the people who have tickets
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: are trying to resell them.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: That's obviously a big no no for them.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: So I think the tickets will eventually come down once
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: the tournament starts. I think the excitement for it is
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: all up right now, they're trying to capitalize on that.
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: I give it a week group stage will be fully
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: in play. I think they'll come down. Who's pick to win.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: It's either For me, it's either France, Spain, Argentina. Argentina
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: would be going back to back. Brazil will always be
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: up there. I don't think they have a chance to
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: win it. Unfortunately, those are probably my three. France are
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: in Argentina, not even England.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: I thought England was supposed to be really good.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: England is always extremely extremely favored to place really well
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: in the World Cup and they always choke, they always
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: fall apart. Okay, and this one's especially because there's a
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: lot of news coming out that the England team is
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: extremely frustrated playing over here because of the heat, because they're.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: Playing in Florida.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and they which I was just in Florida this week.
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: It's not hot. I want you guys to know that
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: it feels fantastic. Yeah, they're like almost dying at practice.
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: Are they really?
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: So? It's been genuinely reported that they're having the like
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: use saunas and they're off top to try and adjust
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: to the heat, and they're they're the the England soccer,
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: the football the England Football Federation is like nervous that
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: it's going to impact their play on the field.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: All right, let's get through a few more texts before
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: we have to go. Patrick said, I'd watch some soccer
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: matches during the World Cup, so there's there's one for you,
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: kanky Patrick. Also, the Golden Knights will win too straight
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: for the Stanley Cup starting tonight, so clearly, clearly he's
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: a that's been a fun, fun Stanley Cup. By the way, Hey, matt,
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: I've watched every finals game and many NBA playoff games.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: I watch some basketball, some NFL and an absolute ton
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: of college football. That's my band with NBA Finals. So
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: there you go with that. One person said I was
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: going to watch the World Cup, but it interferes with
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: me watching the hacky Sack Grand Nationals. Matthew, are you
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: upset that somewhere there's a sack not being hackied? That
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: is one of the greatest lines right there by Zach
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: Gallifanakis to Patrick McConaughey.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Look, I don't care if you don't like soccer. You're
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: rooting for your country.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: This is like going to war. This is a that's
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: a little bit of an exaggeration right there. I want
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: to look, if there was any chance the United states places,
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: it'll get hostile and if nobody, if the people on
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: this text line still are not jumping in on it. Look,
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: there are rivalries out there and we need to keep
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: them going. Okaysa settle down. All right, here's what I'll
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: do tomorrow. Since the game is tomorrow night. Would you
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: like to take a part of a segment, an entire segment,
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: and we'll break down the game. Would you like to
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: do that and talk about that and potentially what the
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: next game would be, which you can get interested only
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: if you want to. I don't want to force you
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: into something you don't want to do. I want you
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: to be talking about something you're genuinely excited about it.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: All right, we'll do it. So you pick out which
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: we'll talk about the game tomorrow and do that. So
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: all right, hey, right, appreciate you listening. That was a
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: fun show. Appreciate all the text. We'll see you tomorrow
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: in just a gas
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: La
