- 0:00Speaker 1: And now back to tech Talk Radio.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Well, social media has certainly been influenced by so many
- 0:05Speaker 2: things that so many trends, and of course the trends
- 0:08Speaker 2: come and go, but one of the trends that seems
- 0:10Speaker 2: to be sticking quite a bit is the trend for AI.
- 0:14Speaker 2: And with us is Eric Kim, who is the senior
- 0:17Speaker 2: director of Platform Responsibility and Public Affairs for Big O
- 0:22Speaker 2: Live North America, and it's here with us on Tech
- 0:25Speaker 2: Talk Radio, talk a little bit about number one, what
- 0:27Speaker 2: Big O Live is all about, and how we're seeing
- 0:30Speaker 2: a lot of this AI working its way into social
- 0:33Speaker 2: media and of course people using it to benefit Eric,
- 0:36Speaker 2: it's great to talk to you, Thanks for coming on.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Andy, it's really nice to be here. Thanks for having me,
- 0:41Speaker 3: and you're really excited to talk about what is really
- 0:43Speaker 3: interesting to a lot of people right now, which is
- 0:45Speaker 3: of course social media and AI and its impact on content.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I guess one of the first thing I just want
- 0:51Speaker 3: to talk about is, you know, you hear a lot
- 0:53Speaker 3: of things right now when people say AI and AI
- 0:56Speaker 3: is bad or is a problem? Is they're going to
- 0:59Speaker 3: trick us. And I think really the most important thing
- 1:01Speaker 3: is to differentiate between AI, which is a wonderful, wonderful toolset,
- 1:05Speaker 3: and then AI slop, which really talks about sort of
- 1:09Speaker 3: like the low effort, high volume and maybe sometimes not
- 1:13Speaker 3: always as edited or vetted content that's out there. A
- 1:17Speaker 3: big part of what we see in AI here is
- 1:22Speaker 3: largely about the fact that it's like a toolset. And
- 1:25Speaker 3: so when you look at our platform, like beinggle Live,
- 1:29Speaker 3: where a live streaming platform we connect users around the world,
- 1:32Speaker 3: you're able to meet with the real person in real
- 1:35Speaker 3: time and connect with them and chat with them. Our
- 1:37Speaker 3: users are really leveraging AI to try to best understand
- 1:41Speaker 3: how they can meet users when they are most active,
- 1:44Speaker 3: or how they can try to best understand how to
- 1:49Speaker 3: make highlights or clips of their content so that people
- 1:52Speaker 3: can really get to know them a little bit better.
- 1:54Speaker 3: The incentives of what makes AI really helpful for people
- 1:57Speaker 3: is we live in a high engagement, in high click environment,
- 2:01Speaker 3: and so when you kind of pump a lot of
- 2:03Speaker 3: poor content out there and it's getting a lot of clicks,
- 2:06Speaker 3: you know those people are getting rewarded. And that's sort
- 2:09Speaker 3: of where creators and users feel like, maybe, you know,
- 2:13Speaker 3: should we use AI or is AI out here to
- 2:15Speaker 3: kind of make our jobs, our lives a little bit
- 2:17Speaker 3: more difficult.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So some people Eric will say that the AI that
- 2:21Speaker 2: is available out there can really you know, boost up
- 2:24Speaker 2: that content and really increase that like that interaction. However,
- 2:29Speaker 2: it gets tiring after a point if somebody is relying
- 2:32Speaker 2: too much on it.
- 2:33Speaker 3: When it comes to like content, I think ultimately you
- 2:35Speaker 3: just got to decide, like what people are using. And
- 2:38Speaker 3: so right now, the fact is there are probably a
- 2:41Speaker 3: lot of AI related content that's being really rewarded, and
- 2:45Speaker 3: we as platforms and we as users and consumers have
- 2:48Speaker 3: to decide how do we feel about that? And you know,
- 2:53Speaker 3: for me personally, I think that there's nothing wrong with people,
- 2:56Speaker 3: you know, enjoying a certain type of content. You know,
- 2:58Speaker 3: I think, you know, back and that people would have
- 3:00Speaker 3: said memes are you know, sort of like low brow content,
- 3:03Speaker 3: but you know now they're hilarious and they're part of
- 3:05Speaker 3: the culture, right And so I think in this sort
- 3:08Speaker 3: of like day and age, it's not necessarily about oh,
- 3:11Speaker 3: people are using a lot of AI and it's good
- 3:13Speaker 3: or bad. I think it's really trying to understand why
- 3:15Speaker 3: people find that stuff interesting and then also trying to
- 3:18Speaker 3: filter through why that can have a sort of a
- 3:21Speaker 3: potential negative impact, like is it nourishing enough, is it
- 3:24Speaker 3: straight up deceiving people? Is it deceptive? You know, those
- 3:27Speaker 3: are I think are the differentiations. But you know, the
- 3:30Speaker 3: use itself, I don't think, you know, should be tied
- 3:33Speaker 3: to you know, any judgment if that content is good
- 3:35Speaker 3: or not.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Well.
- 3:36Speaker 2: One of the things I definitely want to hit upon
- 3:37Speaker 2: is big O Live as well. Taking a look at
- 3:39Speaker 2: the platform, I was actually pretty excited to see that
- 3:42Speaker 2: you can actually filter out some of the content that
- 3:45Speaker 2: you want to see from around the globe, I mean,
- 3:46Speaker 2: from all over the place, and I thought that was
- 3:49Speaker 2: kind of neat for somebody maybe who is from another
- 3:51Speaker 2: part of the world or another part of the country,
- 3:53Speaker 2: can actually you know, streamline that content to be delivered
- 3:58Speaker 2: to them for stuff that they would be interested in.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think with BIGO, we're putting people
- 4:04Speaker 3: and personality and availability and presentness togetherness first. You know.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The idea here is that on bigle Live, you're not
- 4:11Speaker 3: necessarily just making and recording a bunch of content and
- 4:14Speaker 3: putting it out there and hopes that somebody likes it.
- 4:16Speaker 3: And you see what cotstraction for us content is based
- 4:19Speaker 3: on togetherness, community and relationships. And so you're finding out
- 4:23Speaker 3: that certain types of people. It could be based on
- 4:26Speaker 3: the language they speak, or the time zone that they're in,
- 4:30Speaker 3: or the culture that they might represent. You know, the
- 4:32Speaker 3: beauty of it is is there's a big world out there,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and right now most platforms are sort of serving you
- 4:37Speaker 3: content from California or content in the United States when
- 4:41Speaker 3: you're in those areas. And for us, we use AI
- 4:44Speaker 3: to really help connect people based on the kinds of
- 4:47Speaker 3: people and the personalities and or the backgrounds or maybe
- 4:49Speaker 3: the cultural touch points that we think that you might enjoy.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And I think that's a really beautiful thing. You know,
- 4:55Speaker 3: you might not speak Spanish, but you might have a
- 4:58Speaker 3: really great time connecting with somebody using the translate live
- 5:01Speaker 3: translation tools that exist because of AI. And so I
- 5:04Speaker 3: think these things are really incredible stuff. You can find
- 5:07Speaker 3: people around the world that you otherwise maybe would not
- 5:09Speaker 3: have put done in a survey, and you're gonna be
- 5:11Speaker 3: able to use those tools to understand them in ways
- 5:13Speaker 3: that you can before. And I think these are sort
- 5:15Speaker 3: of amazing parts of AI.
- 5:17Speaker 2: AI slop. How would you best describe what AI slop is?
- 5:21Speaker 3: I mean, when I first hear the word slop, and
- 5:23Speaker 3: my immedia thought goes to like animal feed or you know,
- 5:26Speaker 3: things like that, and it's a shame, you know. I
- 5:28Speaker 3: think part of it is, you know, it's a little
- 5:30Speaker 3: bit maybe alarmists or negative just because it's different and
- 5:34Speaker 3: it's a lot and I go back again to sort
- 5:37Speaker 3: of like that mean culture and things like that.
- 5:38Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:39Speaker 3: My feel is, at the end of the day, content
- 5:41Speaker 3: always will be either loved or disliked or respected, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: is it box office or is it critically acclaimed. And
- 5:47Speaker 3: I think when we think about AI slop, it's really
- 5:49Speaker 3: easy to sort of say, oh, that's low effort, so
- 5:51Speaker 3: therefore it's not good, or that's not as polished, or
- 5:54Speaker 3: that's not as well edited, so it must not be good.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I kind of look at it more as if you
- 5:59Speaker 3: are get getting people to be interested in your content
- 6:02Speaker 3: and people are engaging with it, I'd love to actually
- 6:05Speaker 3: apply AI tools to try to understand why that is
- 6:08Speaker 3: before we sort of frame everything in an old conversation
- 6:11Speaker 3: of this is slop versus that is you know, excellent.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Right, with these tools that are available, what are some
- 6:17Speaker 2: things that maybe people should think about before they start
- 6:21Speaker 2: really applying a lot of this this AI into their
- 6:25Speaker 2: social media creation.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Uh.
- 6:27Speaker 3: You know, I think one is you don't want to
- 6:29Speaker 3: replace yourself or you don't want to misrepresent yourself. I think,
- 6:33Speaker 3: you know, just like for all good content creation, it
- 6:35Speaker 3: should be you know, representative of your voice, and like
- 6:38Speaker 3: all good tools that should use to amplify you or
- 6:40Speaker 3: make it easier or take away the parts that you
- 6:43Speaker 3: find tedious and not wanting to do so you can
- 6:45Speaker 3: do more of the things that you love. You know,
- 6:47Speaker 3: just like all content and all forms of expression, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: it should be ways to make you feel more confident
- 6:53Speaker 3: to be yourself and be accepted for your voices and
- 6:56Speaker 3: your points of view. If you're using AI to just
- 6:59Speaker 3: sort of copy what's already out there because you think
- 7:02Speaker 3: it's popular, you know, you're just sort of kind of
- 7:04Speaker 3: on an assembly line, and that's probably going to be
- 7:06Speaker 3: regretful down the line. The part that brings people to
- 7:08Speaker 3: happiness is when AI saves some time and energy so
- 7:11Speaker 3: that people can do more and show up more for
- 7:14Speaker 3: the things they love.
- 7:15Speaker 6: You know.
- 7:15Speaker 3: For us as a live streaming platform, you know, our
- 7:18Speaker 3: creators really you know, deliver a lot of their personnellity
- 7:22Speaker 3: and the energy to make people happy or feel less alone,
- 7:25Speaker 3: or amplify maybe like niche hobbies and things like that,
- 7:29Speaker 3: which are really beautiful. But also it takes time to
- 7:32Speaker 3: promote yourself, make a poster, you know, make highlight clips,
- 7:35Speaker 3: and you know, if you know, it's all time. We
- 7:37Speaker 3: all have a set amount of hours in a day.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And if you can do some of that other work
- 7:41Speaker 3: that you mean maybe necessarily don't love as much, and
- 7:44Speaker 3: you can do it in a tenth of the time,
- 7:45Speaker 3: so that you can spend you know, twice as long,
- 7:47Speaker 3: you know, being live and present. And I think these
- 7:49Speaker 3: are beautiful things when it comes to you know, like
- 7:54Speaker 3: AI tools and trends. I think what's really amazing is,
- 7:57Speaker 3: you know, you have sort of the like brainstorming sketch side,
- 8:00Speaker 3: which is like you like you describe, people are making
- 8:02Speaker 3: stuff and doing things that you know may not be
- 8:05Speaker 3: sustainable or long term, but it's a great way to
- 8:07Speaker 3: get some practice and you also see what works and
- 8:10Speaker 3: it could really be sort of the birthing ground for
- 8:12Speaker 3: the next great creative project. You know, you've got to
- 8:14Speaker 3: know where to start with. And I think I think
- 8:15Speaker 3: that's really wonderful. But I think also the other side
- 8:18Speaker 3: of AI that is really an emergent trend should be
- 8:21Speaker 3: It should be sort of like, you know, kind of
- 8:23Speaker 3: the the robot vacuum in our lives, if you will,
- 8:27Speaker 3: Like it's got to take away that chore that you
- 8:29Speaker 3: don't necessarily love doing but needs to get done. And
- 8:32Speaker 3: you know, there's sort of no way to measure how
- 8:34Speaker 3: much that's going to help your you know, mental health
- 8:37Speaker 3: and your capacity to actually do the other labor of love.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Absolutely, when you think about robot vacuums, I mean when
- 8:43Speaker 2: they first came out, it was, oh, that's great. Now
- 8:45Speaker 2: they can climb stairs technology and keeps growing, right it does. Now,
- 8:50Speaker 2: how about somebody who's creating, though, what would you say
- 8:54Speaker 2: to them about maybe create utilizing some of these AI
- 8:58Speaker 2: tools without without harming their authenticity, Because that's all it
- 9:02Speaker 2: takes is people are pretty quick to scroll past. How
- 9:07Speaker 2: can they do that without it saying okay, this is
- 9:09Speaker 2: affecting who you are and what you put out.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Well, you know, I think of like a really amazing example.
- 9:14Speaker 3: You know, there are a lot of people who really
- 9:16Speaker 3: want to entertain the world but don't desire to be famous,
- 9:19Speaker 3: or people who have a voice that they want to
- 9:22Speaker 3: share with the world, but don't necessarily want to put
- 9:25Speaker 3: their face and name and share that with the world
- 9:26Speaker 3: as well. And so I think tools like AI, you know,
- 9:29Speaker 3: sometimes people can maybe alter their appearance because they think
- 9:33Speaker 3: that they need to fit with a different set of
- 9:35Speaker 3: beauty standards. But I also think that people alter their
- 9:38Speaker 3: appearance or even use you know, filters and things like
- 9:40Speaker 3: that to really allow themselves the creative freedom to be
- 9:44Speaker 3: as as creative as they want and have as much
- 9:48Speaker 3: interaction as they want without you know, having the personal
- 9:51Speaker 3: preference of just wanting to be a private person. And
- 9:53Speaker 3: so I think these things are really amazing applications as well.
- 9:57Speaker 2: But when it comes to say, your creat that come
- 10:00Speaker 2: onto the big old Live platform, are there guidelines as
- 10:04Speaker 2: far as how this AI should be used responsibly? Because
- 10:08Speaker 2: we again we've seen it on other platforms where it's like,
- 10:11Speaker 2: well wait a minute, that's push again. How are the
- 10:14Speaker 2: guidelines set up on Bigo Live?
- 10:16Speaker 3: Well, for us, our community guidelines and our community safety measures,
- 10:21Speaker 3: these things are also supported with AI tools, and so
- 10:24Speaker 3: for us as a platform for creators and users, we
- 10:28Speaker 3: allow users to use the tools to however they desire,
- 10:32Speaker 3: but we also have these just as fast cutting edge
- 10:35Speaker 3: tools to potentially allow us to predict and catch very
- 10:39Speaker 3: quickly things that can be harmful, like you know, things
- 10:42Speaker 3: like nudity and stuff like that that can be ultimately
- 10:44Speaker 3: harmful to an audience.
- 10:45Speaker 2: People are going to continue to use AI, whether it's
- 10:48Speaker 2: going to be minimal or whether they choose to go
- 10:51Speaker 2: all in on it. I don't know, and I think
- 10:54Speaker 2: this is an important discussion when it comes to responsibility
- 10:58Speaker 2: of a creator, and of course the platform itself with
- 11:00Speaker 2: big O, is taking very seriously. If our listeners Eric
- 11:04Speaker 2: want to get more information about Bigo Live and become
- 11:07Speaker 2: you know, a content creator on it, what do they
- 11:09Speaker 2: need to do?
- 11:10Speaker 3: Oh, that's a great question. We're readily available on all
- 11:13Speaker 3: major app stores, so you can go on to the
- 11:15Speaker 3: Google play Store, the the App Store on iOS, search
- 11:20Speaker 3: up Bigo Live and download us. We're free download and
- 11:22Speaker 3: everyone can check it out. There's great easy step by
- 11:26Speaker 3: step tools and buttons inside the app that will help
- 11:29Speaker 3: guide people to do so. But for us, it's really
- 11:31Speaker 3: as simple as you open the app, you set up
- 11:34Speaker 3: your profile, click camera on, and then you check it
- 11:38Speaker 3: out and see what it's like to live stream with
- 11:40Speaker 3: the real world.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I have to ask will there be opportunities for monetization
- 11:46Speaker 2: because I know a lot of creators they always look
- 11:48Speaker 2: at that, you know, how can they make money with
- 11:51Speaker 2: some of that? Will that be something that is available
- 11:53Speaker 2: or is it?
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yes?
- 11:54Speaker 3: Absolutely, we offer tremendous monetization opportunities for users based on
- 11:58Speaker 3: various levels of flex ability. So you have an opportunity
- 12:01Speaker 3: to monetize by maybe even live streaming like thirty minutes
- 12:05Speaker 3: or just one day in a whole month. And you
- 12:07Speaker 3: have also opportunities to sign up for a month long
- 12:10Speaker 3: commitment where you look to make you know, almost a
- 12:13Speaker 3: salary replacement money as well.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Nice.
- 12:15Speaker 2: That's always nice to Once again, if they want to
- 12:18Speaker 2: get more information, where do they go to?
- 12:19Speaker 3: Eric, They go to Bigo Live dot tv, as well
- 12:24Speaker 3: as searching up big Live, b I g O, L,
- 12:26Speaker 3: I ve E on all major opp stores.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Awesome, great to talk with you today. I want to
- 12:30Speaker 2: thank you for coming on tech Talk Radio.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Thanks so much, Handy. I want to thank Eric.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Kim once again for coming on and talking to us
- 12:36Speaker 2: about Bigo Live and about AI and how AI has
- 12:40Speaker 2: made its way on a lot of social media platforms
- 12:44Speaker 2: that people are using. The social platform of Bigo Live
- 12:47Speaker 2: is content creators. Forty one percent of them have said
- 12:51Speaker 2: that they are curious about AI, yet many are unsure
- 12:55Speaker 2: about how it affects performance and audience relationships when they're
- 12:58Speaker 2: trying to make that visual connection.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I have seen some social media creators relying on AI
- 13:06Speaker 2: as we talked about in the discussion, but also you
- 13:09Speaker 2: know there are some that are using it to just
- 13:11Speaker 2: help make their workflow a little better. So again you
- 13:14Speaker 2: could check that out beg Live. Now, before we get
- 13:17Speaker 2: back to the guys, I wanted to mention something and
- 13:19Speaker 2: we've had Mike Nelson on the show before, of course,
- 13:22Speaker 2: Mike Nelson from Rifttracks and Mystery Science Theater. A lot
- 13:25Speaker 2: of us remember watching that. Well, the good news is
- 13:28Speaker 2: new episodes of Mystery Science Theater three thousand are going
- 13:32Speaker 2: to be available. Four new episodes have been confirmed, and
- 13:36Speaker 2: there's also Rift Tracks. Now, if you've not checked out
- 13:40Speaker 2: Rift Tracks, I don't know if you've ever done this.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I remember doing this with my boss when I worked
- 13:45Speaker 2: for the City of Norwalk. I can't remember what movie
- 13:48Speaker 2: it was, but we had picked up a mobile TV
- 13:52Speaker 2: production truck in San Antonio, Texas, and we had to
- 13:56Speaker 2: drive that truck all the way back from Sanate Toonio
- 14:00Speaker 2: to Norwalk, California, and I don't even know if they're
- 14:04Speaker 2: still using that truck.
- 14:05Speaker 4: It was super cool.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I mean, it had you could park it, It had
- 14:08Speaker 2: production switchers inside the truck. You could then run the
- 14:12Speaker 2: cables into the city council chambers and we would do,
- 14:16Speaker 2: you know, two three camera shoots of the city council
- 14:19Speaker 2: meetings and this is you know we're talking. It would
- 14:21Speaker 2: have been mid eighties that we were doing that, and
- 14:24Speaker 2: then the local cable channel would go ahead and then
- 14:28Speaker 2: play it over the cable network. You didn't have streaming
- 14:30Speaker 2: video back then. But it was really neat well on
- 14:33Speaker 2: that drive, I remember me and the Boss Chuck, we
- 14:38Speaker 2: had to stop because it's a long trip. We stopped
- 14:41Speaker 2: in Lordsburg, New Mexico, and stayed the night there and
- 14:44Speaker 2: I remember it was probably after we had dinner, came
- 14:48Speaker 2: up to my room, we put on the TV and.
- 14:51Speaker 4: We were just we were laughing.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Here's this guy, a total professional city manager, you know,
- 14:57Speaker 2: with me the production coordinator for the city, and.
- 15:01Speaker 4: We turned the volume down on some.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Really bad movie and we were creating our own audio tracks.
- 15:08Speaker 2: For that and it was just absolutely hilarious to see. Well,
- 15:12Speaker 2: that's when you know riff Tracks came along, and that's
- 15:15Speaker 2: basically what they did with the riff tracks experiments. They
- 15:19Speaker 2: would take a movie and they would provide kind of
- 15:22Speaker 2: like Mystery Science Theater three thousand where they would comment,
- 15:25Speaker 2: but this one, it was the entire audio was completely
- 15:28Speaker 2: wiped out. They did the first episode of Lost, and
- 15:32Speaker 2: I used to love that show. They did that first
- 15:34Speaker 2: episode of Lost as rift tracks and it was hilarious.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Now they're taking suggestions of what could be a good
- 15:42Speaker 2: rift track movie, and you can make those suggestions by
- 15:46Speaker 2: going to the web going to riff tracks.
- 15:48Speaker 4: That's riff t r a X makes ms T three
- 15:54Speaker 4: k dot com.
- 15:56Speaker 2: All right, I'll put it in our show notes as well,
- 15:59Speaker 2: but then it's r I F F T r a
- 16:02Speaker 2: X makes ms T three k dot com. If you
- 16:07Speaker 2: have not checked out Mystery Science Theater or you've not
- 16:11Speaker 2: checked out rip tracks, it can certainly be a good
- 16:14Speaker 2: laugh for you. So I want to thank Meg. Mike
- 16:16Speaker 2: Nelson again years ago, came on the show and talked
- 16:18Speaker 2: about that, and we'll have to get that original audio
- 16:20Speaker 2: back up on the website.
- 16:21Speaker 4: That would be cool.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Speaking of websites, here's a cool trick a website that
- 16:26Speaker 2: I found that you could do this with text behindimage
- 16:30Speaker 2: dot com. If you've ever had a photo and you
- 16:32Speaker 2: want to put text behind it, this site makes.
- 16:35Speaker 4: It super easy to do. That's what's so great.
- 16:38Speaker 2: There's so many websites that will give you all these
- 16:39Speaker 2: tools and tricks, but check out text behind image dot com. Well,
- 16:45Speaker 2: we're gonna be joined the show. Get back to tech
- 16:47Speaker 2: talk Radio. Find us on YouTube, Subscribe to us at
- 16:51Speaker 2: tech talk radio, and be notified whenever we get new
- 16:54Speaker 2: videos that are going up there. We have short videos
- 16:57Speaker 2: that are up there as well. It's a lot of
- 16:59Speaker 2: fun again YouTube, tech talk Radio will be right back.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 17:05Speaker 7: Analog the sixty four control.
- 17:07Speaker 4: My Xbox controller. It does Playing.
- 17:09Speaker 7: With this in a traditional like left thumbstick grip changes
- 17:14Speaker 7: the dynamic of the games. It really changes how the feel.
- 17:18Speaker 7: It makes for more natural camera control, more natural character control.
- 17:23Speaker 7: It's weird to think that just moving a thumbstick over
- 17:27Speaker 7: to how you've been playing games for the last two
- 17:29Speaker 7: decades will change how you feel and how you react
- 17:32Speaker 7: to games. And it's it's it's a it was a
- 17:35Speaker 7: pleasant surprise to get that. So I'm excited about the
- 17:38Speaker 7: support for the other controllers just because it gives me
- 17:41Speaker 7: more controllers to have to play multiple games with without
- 17:44Speaker 7: having it to be wired right, which is the big one.
- 17:47Speaker 7: But yeah, they've got some other updates. Can track now
- 17:49Speaker 7: how long you've been playing.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Each of your cartridges Analog three D if people want
- 17:54Speaker 2: to look that up is lo o uge. That's the British.
- 17:57Speaker 2: It's very British, all right. So I want to ask
- 18:01Speaker 2: when it comes to tracking your your health. I know
- 18:04Speaker 2: that you know, I've got an Apple Watch. I think
- 18:07Speaker 2: Sean your Apple Watch. Justin's wearing the Aura is it
- 18:12Speaker 2: Aura ring?
- 18:14Speaker 4: Yeah? How has that been for you?
- 18:16Speaker 2: For people who don't want to do a traditional watch,
- 18:18Speaker 2: you know, like Sean and I have, the Ura ring is.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Probably more has actually been proven to be more sensitive
- 18:26Speaker 5: and more accurate than any watch out there on the market,
- 18:29Speaker 5: maybe comparable to the garment, but when it comes to
- 18:32Speaker 5: like Apple Watch or like the pixel watch or whatever,
- 18:36Speaker 5: or Samsung Galaxy Watch, the Ora ring is by far
- 18:39Speaker 5: superior in terms of how accurate it is to your health.
- 18:43Speaker 5: And I love it. It'll alert me, I mean it
- 18:45Speaker 5: alerts me randomly throughout the day. It'll say something like, hey,
- 18:50Speaker 5: last night, your resting heart rate went from forty nine
- 18:54Speaker 5: to fifty one. Did you buy a chance eat any
- 18:57Speaker 5: food before you went to bed? And I'm like, son
- 19:00Speaker 5: of a gun, I ate a play of Nachows before
- 19:03Speaker 5: I went to bed.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Wow.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Wow, And it knows it's that accurate.
- 19:07Speaker 2: It's interesting because fitbit we think of our fitness and
- 19:10Speaker 2: our health. Fitbit was really one of the first well
- 19:13Speaker 2: the co founders of that, James Park and Eric Friedman,
- 19:15Speaker 2: I have announced a new product and I think this
- 19:17Speaker 2: is kind of a cool idea. But some people are
- 19:19Speaker 2: going to be squaffing about the privacy concerns. Called LOOFU
- 19:24Speaker 2: all right, and it's l u f f U if
- 19:27Speaker 2: you want to look this up.
- 19:28Speaker 4: They've got a public beta going on.
- 19:29Speaker 2: But what it's designed for is it's an app experience
- 19:34Speaker 2: that will allow you to measure not only your statistics
- 19:38Speaker 2: but also family members.
- 19:41Speaker 4: And these that's all ourd thing too.
- 19:43Speaker 2: You know, say you've got parents that live maybe the
- 19:46Speaker 2: same city or a different state.
- 19:48Speaker 4: You would then be able to.
- 19:49Speaker 2: See if there is anything that could be concerning when
- 19:53Speaker 2: it comes to measuring the vitals.
- 19:55Speaker 4: For your parents.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Now, Like I said, some people are saying the privacy issue,
- 20:00Speaker 2: you know, but as a family they may be onto
- 20:03Speaker 2: something there. It depends. I think it's gonna depend on
- 20:05Speaker 2: the family dynamics. But they also say caregivers that are
- 20:10Speaker 2: you know, monitoring somebody that is undercare.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Maybe not twenty four to seven care.
- 20:15Speaker 2: This is this might be something again if you want
- 20:17Speaker 2: to look it up and just you know, make your
- 20:19Speaker 2: decision from there.
- 20:21Speaker 4: L u f f u dot hut.
- 20:23Speaker 5: I like the idea behind this, but I don't think
- 20:27Speaker 5: it's gonna be successful because of that privacy. I mean,
- 20:31Speaker 5: it's hard enough for me to get to have my
- 20:35Speaker 5: wife allow me to track her location on Google Maps
- 20:38Speaker 5: because she tracks my location on Google Maps. You don't
- 20:40Speaker 5: do it for any particular reason. It's just hey, we
- 20:42Speaker 5: know we're coming home, yeah, or we know where we're
- 20:45Speaker 5: gonna I'm gonna pick up Eric for me to be like, hey, babe,
- 20:48Speaker 5: can I track your heart rate and your metabolism?
- 20:50Speaker 4: Like no, no.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Oh, it's not gonna happen.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's true. That would be That would be
- 20:57Speaker 2: an interesting discussion. All right, We got to take quick
- 20:59Speaker 2: break back cool new innovations and technology we'll talk more
- 21:03Speaker 2: about that.
- 21:03Speaker 4: I'm Andy Taylor.
- 21:05Speaker 5: And I'm Justin. Let me find us on the webed
- 21:07Speaker 5: tech talk radio dot com.
- 21:09Speaker 4: We'll be right back now back to tech talk Radio.
- 21:13Speaker 2: We're just talking about tracking. And I don't know if
- 21:15Speaker 2: you guys saw the news, I wanted to mention it.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Air tags have been updated and if you use air
- 21:21Speaker 2: tags or not, precision finding, there you go.
- 21:25Speaker 4: So now they're saying that your.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Air tag can be used about one hundred and fifty
- 21:31Speaker 2: feet away to find something rather than the fifty feet away.
- 21:35Speaker 2: They're keeping the price down at about twenty nine bucks
- 21:38Speaker 2: for an AirTag. So I don't know, it's just something
- 21:40Speaker 2: to think about. Yeah, Justin, you have kind of a
- 21:42Speaker 2: smirk on your face. Oh yeah, no reason because we're
- 21:46Speaker 2: metching Apple.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna put
- 21:50Speaker 5: those out there, all right, go ahead, the pixel, the
- 21:52Speaker 5: pixel phones, the Google Android. They released their their version
- 21:56Speaker 5: of air tags.
- 21:57Speaker 1: All right.
- 21:57Speaker 5: It works way better than Apple air tags and it
- 21:59Speaker 5: can be on average about three hundred feet all of
- 22:02Speaker 5: a sudden, Wow wow, Apple up to one hundred and
- 22:05Speaker 5: three hundred feet really, yeah, oh wow?
- 22:08Speaker 2: I know the tile is about that I have the
- 22:11Speaker 2: tile and I use that and I love tile.
- 22:13Speaker 4: So just something new. If you're in the Apple ecosphere.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Apple, you know, yeah, Apple, Yeah, go ahead, go for it.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Go go one hundred and fifty feet. What meanwhile, I'll
- 22:20Speaker 5: be able to find my device from three hundred.
- 22:22Speaker 7: I'm surprising the Apple didn't make that part of the
- 22:25Speaker 7: Premium Creator bundle. In charge of subscriptions for it.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, you're gonna need a dongle for that.
- 22:29Speaker 7: By the way, to get to get accurate to more
- 22:32Speaker 7: than one mile, please pay nine ninety nine.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Yeah, subscriptions. Games. We will talk a little bit about games.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I kind of touched on the next and then of
- 22:40Speaker 2: course Sean with the analog.
- 22:42Speaker 4: You're playing a game? What are you playing this one on?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Justin a couple of weeks ago, I found a game
- 22:46Speaker 5: on Steam. It was actually released back in October, so
- 22:50Speaker 5: it's relatively.
- 22:51Speaker 4: New, right.
- 22:52Speaker 5: It is one of my favorite games I've ever played
- 22:54Speaker 5: in my life. It's called World of Seat Battle. Now,
- 22:57Speaker 5: don't get this confused with World of Warship or World
- 23:01Speaker 5: of Tanks or whatever. Was High Seas game you were
- 23:05Speaker 5: playing before too, that was different.
- 23:07Speaker 4: It was Thieves.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Thieves is so see if Thimes is like a first
- 23:11Speaker 5: person pirate game where you know, you're playing as the
- 23:15Speaker 5: pirate and you're sailing your ship and you have to
- 23:18Speaker 5: lower and raise the sales by yourself. And but that game,
- 23:22Speaker 5: I mean, it's cartoonish. It gets kind of boring. I mean,
- 23:25Speaker 5: there's not I mean whatever. Anyway, World to See Battle
- 23:28Speaker 5: is a free to play. It's on Steam. I don't
- 23:31Speaker 5: think it's on any other platform you have to pay
- 23:34Speaker 5: for it to No, it's free to play. Oh wow,
- 23:36Speaker 5: free to play all right, And it's an MMO, so
- 23:39Speaker 5: massively multiplayer online. Now, the thing about this game is
- 23:43Speaker 5: again it was released back in October. It was by
- 23:45Speaker 5: a Russian developer, so this is part of the thing
- 23:49Speaker 5: that people are like, well, wait is a Russian developer.
- 23:52Speaker 5: It's not as popular in the US as it is
- 23:55Speaker 5: in Europe and Russia. Right now, the Russian server is
- 23:58Speaker 5: completely overloaded with people. The European server is extremely loaded
- 24:03Speaker 5: with people, not quite overloaded. And then you got the
- 24:05Speaker 5: North American server, which is kind of like, eh, I
- 24:08Speaker 5: got time, oh wow, so you can get in no
- 24:10Speaker 5: matter what. Now the game is, it's again, it's more
- 24:14Speaker 5: of a third person isometric view of sailing ships. Now,
- 24:19Speaker 5: I'm not talking about modern warships, nuclear powered, coal power,
- 24:24Speaker 5: diesel powered. I'm talking about sailboats. And it's the age
- 24:29Speaker 5: of pirates. And you travel around what I assume is
- 24:33Speaker 5: the Caribbean, and you're you go from island to island.
- 24:37Speaker 5: You take on you know, other players, you take on
- 24:40Speaker 5: NPC non playable character, you take on computer controlled ships.
- 24:45Speaker 5: You just you you sinc the ships and you take
- 24:47Speaker 5: their loot and you go and sell the loot and
- 24:50Speaker 5: you make money. And the game the graphics are absolutely gorgeous,
- 24:55Speaker 5: The soundtrack is amazing. The gameplay is really really fun.
- 25:00Speaker 5: It keeps you back, and it is such a grind.
- 25:02Speaker 5: It's not something that you can easily just win the game. Now, granted,
- 25:07Speaker 5: because it's free to play, it's also pay to win.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Now.
- 25:11Speaker 5: I not say pay to win lightly, because you really
- 25:14Speaker 5: can't win. I mean, yes, you can go out and
- 25:16Speaker 5: spend one thousand dollars on the best ship in the game,
- 25:19Speaker 5: but you're gonna get your butt kicked because you don't.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Know how to use it.
- 25:22Speaker 5: So it's the same same kind of the theory applies.
- 25:26Speaker 5: And I'm sure Sean can speak to this in different
- 25:29Speaker 5: games where there is a paid way to go straight
- 25:34Speaker 5: to the top.
- 25:34Speaker 7: I mean that's pretty much any game at this point.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 7: I mean there's there's there's there's a lot of other
- 25:39Speaker 7: games like that, Path of Exile, Clash of Clans. I mean,
- 25:43Speaker 7: there's other games where you can just don't tons of
- 25:45Speaker 7: money and get it, get get the best stuff. You're
- 25:48Speaker 7: not good at the game, there's no benefit.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Right, And that's what I'm strying to say.
- 25:52Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, some waste of money in my opinion.
- 25:54Speaker 4: But Clash Clans that was so much fun. Don't even
- 25:59Speaker 4: I've met before.
- 26:00Speaker 7: It's it's his fault that I got into Classic Plans too.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, well yeah yeah.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I spent probably over the course of what five ten
- 26:09Speaker 5: years when I played Clashic Plans. I think I probably
- 26:12Speaker 5: drop about fifteen hundred dollars ooh wow un Clash of Clans,
- 26:15Speaker 5: oh man, but yeah, over I mean it was like,
- 26:18Speaker 5: oh ten bucks here, ten bucks there. Oh, I got
- 26:21Speaker 5: a gift card for my birthday for fifty bucks. Yeah,
- 26:23Speaker 5: I'll put it towards Clash of Clans, you know, yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 5: I get it. Yeah, this is how companies make money.
- 26:28Speaker 5: But this is the same idea behind it, but you
- 26:30Speaker 5: don't need to spend that money. You can just grind
- 26:33Speaker 5: it out and you can just have fun along the way.
- 26:35Speaker 5: There's a lot of fun to be had while you're
- 26:38Speaker 5: playing this game free again. It's called World of Sea Battle.
- 26:42Speaker 5: I feel, and it's on Steam. I feel so beautiful.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Inadequate because you guys play these great What do I play?
- 26:48Speaker 4: I play Wordle? Dude.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I keep telling you to get with us on Steam,
- 26:54Speaker 5: and you never do. It's been ten years, you know.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Once in a while I'll be at the computer and
- 26:58Speaker 2: I'll fire up a game. Of course you're gaming again. Yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 2: I'm playing Solitaire. They brought it back in Windows eleven.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's pretty happy though. But no, I've been playing Wordle.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Here's the thing for those people that play Wordle. I
- 27:14Speaker 2: play every night and it's a lot of fun. There's
- 27:16Speaker 2: a Quardle, which is another one, and we do it together.
- 27:20Speaker 2: We just come up with a word. We see if
- 27:21Speaker 2: we can get it before we run out of letters.
- 27:24Speaker 2: They just announced if you play wordle, New York Times
- 27:27Speaker 2: is bringing old words back. So what happens is you
- 27:31Speaker 2: play word and then they kind of put that word
- 27:33Speaker 2: into a vault. They're bringing them all back now. So
- 27:37Speaker 2: now it's gonna be a bit of a challenge because
- 27:40Speaker 2: people thought, okay, that game, we're already played that word.
- 27:43Speaker 4: It's coming back.
- 27:44Speaker 2: So again, that's a fun one, and that one's free
- 27:46Speaker 2: to play, and it's a good mind it's a good
- 27:49Speaker 2: mind game.
- 27:49Speaker 4: I do like that one.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that works out good. We do have a listener
- 27:53Speaker 2: question I wanted to share. This one was from Ben says, hey, guys,
- 27:58Speaker 2: love the tech jokes you did a couple of weeks back.
- 28:01Speaker 2: This should be a regular feature on the show. Then
- 28:04Speaker 2: Ben wanted to share one with us, So can I
- 28:06Speaker 2: share it with you guys? Yeah, says I have one.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Why did the developer go broke? Why did the developer
- 28:13Speaker 2: go broke? He used up all his cash?
- 28:17Speaker 4: Oh cash is in.
- 28:18Speaker 2: C Yeah yeah yeah Ben, Yeah, Ben said sid this
- 28:26Speaker 2: another one?
- 28:27Speaker 4: All right?
- 28:28Speaker 2: This one from Selena and SELOUDETHA. Could you recommend a
- 28:31Speaker 2: good webcam for doing a video podcast? I was thinking
- 28:34Speaker 2: about getting into YouTube for this, but I don't want
- 28:37Speaker 2: to do it on my phone. Selena and SOLOUDETHA, Oh
- 28:40Speaker 2: good question, Selena, I don't know.
- 28:42Speaker 7: And any USB webcam above ten ADP Yeah, yeah, I
- 28:46Speaker 7: mean you're gonna get. You can spend as much as
- 28:50Speaker 7: you want, or you can spend as little as you want. Obviously,
- 28:52Speaker 7: don't buy a five dollars webcam from well Selena.
- 28:55Speaker 5: If you're watching the video portion of this particular Podcas asked,
- 29:00Speaker 5: you're gonna notice Andy has the worst webcam possible. Then
- 29:06Speaker 5: you got Sean, who's got it, you know, a decent webcam.
- 29:10Speaker 5: And then you got me, and I've got a thirty
- 29:12Speaker 5: three hundred dollars Sony DSLR. No, not even a DSLR.
- 29:17Speaker 5: What do you call that, now, Sean, just let's call it.
- 29:19Speaker 8: That's so, it's just a mirror mirrorless. It's not even
- 29:23Speaker 8: an SLR mirror just mirrorless, mirrorless. It's just a mirrorless
- 29:26Speaker 8: professional camera. So if you're looking at my camera and
- 29:29Speaker 8: you're like, I want one like that, no, you're not
- 29:31Speaker 8: going to get that. No, you'd have to spend about
- 29:33Speaker 8: thirty three hundred dollars to get a professional camera.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Now, which which one are you using? Sean?
- 29:38Speaker 7: A go Pro Hero three plus at least in twenty eleven.
- 29:43Speaker 4: And now is that's ten ADP right? It is?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm using the Logitech Brio the MX so so.
- 29:51Speaker 4: So, Selena, do not get the Logitech brill. I don't know.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Mine's so much the camera. I think it's lighting because
- 29:57Speaker 2: I'm under five lights. I don't have spotlighting like you
- 30:01Speaker 2: guys do. It's just bright, That's what I think it is.
- 30:04Speaker 2: At least I could be the overhead lights. But I
- 30:06Speaker 2: think it's more your your camera.
- 30:08Speaker 7: And I did adjust, so we talked about lighting in mind, right,
- 30:11Speaker 7: I did adjust it a little bit, so now it
- 30:13Speaker 7: looks a little bit better in the background. It's not
- 30:15Speaker 7: as dark in the background.
- 30:16Speaker 5: So now and with mine, I put I put something
- 30:19Speaker 5: on in the background, I'll put on my main TV.
- 30:21Speaker 5: I'll put something in so it gives that background light
- 30:24Speaker 5: source to be able to focus on. That's why mine
- 30:28Speaker 5: looks like that.
- 30:28Speaker 2: But Selena, before you go and spend the thirty three
- 30:31Speaker 2: thirty three hundred bucks, they're adjusted. Yeah, for the time
- 30:34Speaker 2: you might want to just make get your podcast up
- 30:36Speaker 2: and running, you know, get it going. And just another
- 30:41Speaker 2: company a Logitech, I do believe is good. Another company
- 30:44Speaker 2: that makes them is el Gato. They have a camera
- 30:48Speaker 2: that people have been saying really good things about and
- 30:51Speaker 2: el got great.
- 30:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Gotto is one of those.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It's like a couple of products when they started, and
- 30:56Speaker 2: now they have a wide breadth of products, including like
- 30:59Speaker 2: even a news uh stream deck keyboard, which almost say,
- 31:03Speaker 2: I was.
- 31:03Speaker 7: Just gonna mention that they have. It's got this call
- 31:05Speaker 7: that I think it's called the c test see one ten.
- 31:07Speaker 7: It's literally a one t of one hundred percent keyboard.
- 31:13Speaker 7: But the numb pad is a stream deck.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Wow, It's built into the keyboard, right, And what that
- 31:19Speaker 6: means is that you you if you have say you
- 31:21Speaker 6: have a guest Selena, and you want to switch to
- 31:23Speaker 6: their camera, you'd be able to do that from the
- 31:25Speaker 6: keyboard and go back.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah, don't.
- 31:27Speaker 7: I don't have to reach up here and touch the buttons.
- 31:29Speaker 7: I can just do it right on a keyboard, which
- 31:31Speaker 7: is something we're looking at getting in for work. Oh,
- 31:34Speaker 7: that was having a stream deck because we have a
- 31:36Speaker 7: KVM system at work, meaning I can go to multiple
- 31:38Speaker 7: computers from the same station having that available to me.
- 31:42Speaker 7: So if I just go to the computer that has
- 31:43Speaker 7: the stream deck on, it would pop up populate. I
- 31:45Speaker 7: can then operate it right from there instead of having
- 31:47Speaker 7: to you know, use this campaign. Is that allite a
- 31:51Speaker 7: Raspberry pie or wherever?
- 31:52Speaker 5: Speaking of speaking of that, Sean, you know what else
- 31:55Speaker 5: you guys should consider for work getting a championship?
- 31:59Speaker 2: Hey, oh ow out notre dame joke there, oh out,
- 32:06Speaker 2: that's fired.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, let me tell you.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Coming up, we're gonna talk to Eric Kim, Senior director
- 32:11Speaker 2: of Platform Responsibility for bego Live b i g O
- 32:14Speaker 2: Live North America. It's a kind of a streaming video
- 32:18Speaker 2: platform that allows you to make direct connections with some
- 32:21Speaker 2: of those creators that are putting these videos out.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Again some of you, if you want to take a
- 32:26Speaker 4: look at it, but we're going to talk.
- 32:27Speaker 2: About AI slop and why more creators are looking at
- 32:31Speaker 2: integrating AI into their their content, whether it's still content
- 32:36Speaker 2: on Facebook or YouTube or you know, video content, they're
- 32:40Speaker 2: finding ways to integrate that. So again we'll do that
- 32:43Speaker 2: when we come back with tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 32:46Speaker 2: I'm Sean.
- 32:46Speaker 5: De Weird, and I'm justin. Lem Me send us an
- 32:49Speaker 5: X at tech talk Radio.
- 32:51Speaker 1: We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Well, social media has certainly been influenced by so many
- 32:58Speaker 2: things that so many trends, and of course the trends
- 33:01Speaker 2: coming go but one of the trends that seems to
- 33:03Speaker 2: be sticking quite a bit is the trend for AI.
- 33:07Speaker 2: And with us is Eric Kim, who is the senior
- 33:10Speaker 2: director of Platform Responsibility and Public Affairs for Big O
- 33:15Speaker 2: Live North America, and it's here with us on tech
- 33:18Speaker 2: talk Radio talk a little bit about number one, what
- 33:20Speaker 2: Big O Live is all about, and how we're seeing
- 33:23Speaker 2: a lot of this AI working its way into social
- 33:26Speaker 2: media and of course people using it to benefit Eric,
- 33:29Speaker 2: it's great to talk to you, Thanks for coming on.
- 33:31Speaker 3: A Andy, it's really nice to be here, Thanks for
- 33:33Speaker 3: having me, and you're really excited to talk about what
- 33:35Speaker 3: is really interesting to a lot of people right now,
- 33:38Speaker 3: which is of course social media and AI and its
- 33:41Speaker 3: impact on content. I guess one of the first thing
- 33:44Speaker 3: I just want to talk about is, you know, you
- 33:46Speaker 3: hear a lot of things right now when people say
- 33:48Speaker 3: AI and AI is bad or is a problem? Is
- 33:51Speaker 3: going to trick us, and I think really the most
- 33:54Speaker 3: important thing is to differentiate between AI which is a wonderful,
- 33:57Speaker 3: wonderful toolset and then AI slop, which really talks about
- 34:01Speaker 3: sort of like the low effort, high volume and maybe
- 34:06Speaker 3: sometimes not always as edited or vetted content that's out there.
- 34:10Speaker 3: A big part of what we see in AI here
- 34:15Speaker 3: is largely about the fact that it's like a tool set.
- 34:17Speaker 3: And so when you look at our platform, like beinggle Live,
- 34:22Speaker 3: where a live streaming platform we connect users around the world,
- 34:25Speaker 3: you're able to meet with the real person in real
- 34:28Speaker 3: time and connect with them and chat with them. Our
- 34:30Speaker 3: users are really leveraging AI to try to best understand
- 34:34Speaker 3: how they can meet users when they are most active,
- 34:37Speaker 3: or how they can try to best understand how to
- 34:42Speaker 3: make highlights or clips of their content so that people
- 34:45Speaker 3: can really get to know them a little bit better.
- 34:47Speaker 3: The incentives of what makes AI really helpful for people
- 34:50Speaker 3: is we live in a high engagement, high click environment
- 34:54Speaker 3: and so when you kind of pump a lot of
- 34:57Speaker 3: poor content out there and it's getting a lot of clicks,
- 35:00Speaker 3: you know, those people are getting rewarded. And that's sort
- 35:02Speaker 3: of where creators and users feel like, maybe, you know,
- 35:06Speaker 3: should we use AI or is AI out here to
- 35:08Speaker 3: kind of make our jobs our lives a little bit
- 35:10Speaker 3: more difficult.
- 35:11Speaker 2: So some people eric will say that the AI that
- 35:14Speaker 2: is available out there can really you know, boost up
- 35:17Speaker 2: that content and really increase that likes that interaction. However,
- 35:22Speaker 2: it gets tiring after a point if somebody is relying
- 35:25Speaker 2: too much on it.
- 35:26Speaker 3: When it comes to like content, I think ultimately you
- 35:28Speaker 3: just got to decide, like what people are using. And
- 35:31Speaker 3: so right now, the fact is there are probably a
- 35:34Speaker 3: lot of AI related content that's being really rewarded, and
- 35:38Speaker 3: we as platforms and we as users and consumers have
- 35:41Speaker 3: to decide how do we feel about that? And you know,
- 35:46Speaker 3: for me personally, I think that there's nothing wrong with people,
- 35:50Speaker 3: you know, enjoying a certain type of content. You know,
- 35:52Speaker 3: I think, you know, back in the day, people would
- 35:53Speaker 3: have said memes are you know, sort of like low
- 35:55Speaker 3: brow content, but you know, now they're hilarious and they're
- 35:58Speaker 3: part of the culture, right, And so I think in
- 36:00Speaker 3: this sort of like day and age, it's not necessarily
- 36:03Speaker 3: about oh, people are using a lot of AI and
- 36:05Speaker 3: it's good or bad. I think it's really trying to
- 36:07Speaker 3: understand why people find that stuff interesting and then also
- 36:11Speaker 3: trying to filter through why that can have a sort
- 36:14Speaker 3: of a potential negative impact, like is it nourishing enough,
- 36:17Speaker 3: is it straight up deceiving people? Is it deceptive? You know,
- 36:20Speaker 3: those are I think are the differentiations. But you know,
- 36:23Speaker 3: the use itself, I don't think, you know, should be
- 36:25Speaker 3: tied to you know, any judgment if that content is
- 36:28Speaker 3: good or not.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Well.
- 36:29Speaker 2: One of the things I definitely woult to hit upon
- 36:30Speaker 2: is big O Live as well. Taking a look at
- 36:32Speaker 2: the platform, I was actually pretty excited to see that
- 36:35Speaker 2: you can actually filter out some of the content that
- 36:38Speaker 2: you want to see from around the globe, I mean,
- 36:39Speaker 2: from all over the place, and I thought that was
- 36:42Speaker 2: kind of neat for somebody maybe who is from another
- 36:44Speaker 2: part of the world or another part of the country,
- 36:46Speaker 2: can actually you know, streamline that content to be delivered
- 36:51Speaker 2: to them for stuff that they would be interested in.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think with BIGO, we're putting people
- 36:57Speaker 3: and personality and availability and presentness togetherness first.
- 37:02Speaker 4: You know.
- 37:02Speaker 3: The idea here is that on bigle Live, you're not
- 37:04Speaker 3: necessarily just making and recording a bunch of content and
- 37:07Speaker 3: putting it out there and hopes that somebody likes it.
- 37:10Speaker 3: And you see what cotstraction for us, content is based
- 37:12Speaker 3: on togetherness, community and relationships, and so you're finding out
- 37:16Speaker 3: that certain types of people it could be based on
- 37:19Speaker 3: the language they speak, or the time zone that they're in,
- 37:23Speaker 3: or the culture that they might represent. You know, the
- 37:25Speaker 3: beauty of it is is there's a big world out there,
- 37:27Speaker 3: and right now most platforms are sort of serving you
- 37:30Speaker 3: content from California or content in the United States when
- 37:34Speaker 3: you're in those areas. And for us, we use AI
- 37:37Speaker 3: to really help connect people based on the kinds of
- 37:40Speaker 3: people and the personalities or the backgrounds or maybe the
- 37:43Speaker 3: cultural touch points that we think that you might enjoy.
- 37:46Speaker 3: And I think that's a really beautiful thing. You know,
- 37:48Speaker 3: you might not speak Spanish, but you might have a
- 37:51Speaker 3: really great time connecting with somebody using the live translation
- 37:55Speaker 3: tools that exist because of AI, and so I think
- 37:57Speaker 3: these things are really incredible stuff. You can find people
- 38:00Speaker 3: around the world that you otherwise maybe would not have
- 38:02Speaker 3: put done in a survey, and you're going to be
- 38:04Speaker 3: able to use those tools to understand them in ways
- 38:07Speaker 3: that you can before. And I think these are sort
- 38:08Speaker 3: of amazing parts of AI.
- 38:10Speaker 2: AI slop. How would you best describe what AI slop is?
- 38:14Speaker 3: I mean, you know, when I first share the word
- 38:15Speaker 3: slop and my immediate thought goes to like animal feed
- 38:18Speaker 3: or you know, things like that, and it's a shame,
- 38:21Speaker 3: you know. I think part of it is, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 3: it's a little bit maybe alarmists or negative just because
- 38:26Speaker 3: it's different and it's a lot and I go back
- 38:29Speaker 3: again to sort of like that mean culture and things
- 38:31Speaker 3: like that. You know, my feel is, at the end
- 38:33Speaker 3: of the day, content always will be either loved or
- 38:36Speaker 3: disliked or respected, you know, is it box office or
- 38:39Speaker 3: is it critically acclaimed? And I think when we think
- 38:41Speaker 3: about AI slop, it's really easy to sort of say, oh,
- 38:43Speaker 3: that's low effort, so therefore it's not good, or that's
- 38:46Speaker 3: not as polished, or that's not as well edited, so
- 38:48Speaker 3: it must not be good.
- 38:50Speaker 7: I kind of look at it.
- 38:51Speaker 3: More as if you are getting people to be interested
- 38:55Speaker 3: in your content and people are engaging with it, I'd
- 38:57Speaker 3: love to actually apply AI tools to try to and
- 39:00Speaker 3: why that is before we sort of frame everything in
- 39:03Speaker 3: an old conversation of this is slop versus that is,
- 39:06Speaker 3: you know.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Excellent, right with these tools that are available, what are
- 39:10Speaker 2: some things that maybe people should think about before they
- 39:13Speaker 2: start really applying a lot of this this AI into their.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Social media creation.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Uh, you know, I think one is you don't want
- 39:22Speaker 3: to replace yourself or you don't want to misrepresent yourself.
- 39:25Speaker 3: I think, you know, just like for all good content, creation,
- 39:28Speaker 3: it should be you know, representative of your voice, and
- 39:31Speaker 3: like all good tools that should use to amplify you
- 39:33Speaker 3: or make it easier or take away the parts that
- 39:36Speaker 3: you find tedious and not wanting to do so you
- 39:38Speaker 3: can do more of the things that you love. You know,
- 39:40Speaker 3: just like all content and all forms of expression, you know,
- 39:43Speaker 3: it should be ways to make you feel more confident
- 39:46Speaker 3: to be yourself and be accepted for your voices and
- 39:49Speaker 3: your points of view. If you're using AI to just
- 39:52Speaker 3: sort of copy what's already out there because you think
- 39:55Speaker 3: it's popular, you know, you're just sort of kind of
- 39:57Speaker 3: on an assembly line, and that's probably going to be regretful. Download.
- 40:00Speaker 3: The part that brings people to happiness is when AI
- 40:02Speaker 3: saves some time and energy so that people can do
- 40:06Speaker 3: more and show up more for the things they love.
- 40:08Speaker 3: You know, For us as a live streaming platform, you know,
- 40:11Speaker 3: our creators really you know, deliver a lot of their
- 40:14Speaker 3: personnellity and the energy to make people happy or feel
- 40:18Speaker 3: less alone or amplify maybe like niche hobbies and things
- 40:22Speaker 3: like that, which are really beautiful. But also it takes
- 40:24Speaker 3: time to promote yourself, make a poster, you know, make
- 40:27Speaker 3: highlight clips, and you know, if you know, it's all time.
- 40:30Speaker 3: We all have a set amount of hours in a day,
- 40:32Speaker 3: and if you can do some of that other work
- 40:34Speaker 3: that you maybe necessarily don't love as much, and you
- 40:37Speaker 3: can do it in a tenth of the time, so
- 40:38Speaker 3: that you can spend you know, twice as long, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 3: being live and present. And I think these are beautiful
- 40:43Speaker 3: things when it comes to you know, like AI tools
- 40:47Speaker 3: and trends. I think what's really amazing is, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 3: you have sort of the like brainstorming sketch book side,
- 40:53Speaker 3: which is like you like you describe, people are making
- 40:55Speaker 3: stuff and doing things that you know may not be
- 40:58Speaker 3: sustainable or long term, but it's a great way to
- 41:00Speaker 3: get some practice and you also see what works, and
- 41:03Speaker 3: it could really be sort of the birthing ground for
- 41:05Speaker 3: the next great creative project. You know, you've got to
- 41:07Speaker 3: know where to start with. And I think I think
- 41:09Speaker 3: that's really wonderful. But I think also the other side
- 41:11Speaker 3: of AI that is really an emergent trend should be
- 41:14Speaker 3: it should be sort of like you know, kind of
- 41:16Speaker 3: the the robot vacuum in our lives, if you will,
- 41:20Speaker 3: Like it's got to take away that chore that you
- 41:22Speaker 3: don't necessarily love doing, but needs to get done. And
- 41:25Speaker 3: you know, there's sort of no way to measure how
- 41:27Speaker 3: much that's going to help your you know, mental health
- 41:30Speaker 3: and your capacity to actually do the other labor of love.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 41:34Speaker 2: When you think about robot vacuums, I mean when they
- 41:36Speaker 2: first came out, it was, oh, that's great. Now they
- 41:38Speaker 2: can climb stairs technology and keeps growing, right it does. Now,
- 41:43Speaker 2: how about somebody who's creating, though, what would you say
- 41:47Speaker 2: to them about maybe create utilizing some of these AI
- 41:51Speaker 2: tools without without harming their authenticity, Because that's all it
- 41:55Speaker 2: takes is people are pretty quick to scroll past. How
- 42:00Speaker 2: can they do that without it saying okay, this is
- 42:02Speaker 2: affecting who you are and what you put out.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Well, you know, I think of like a really amazing example.
- 42:07Speaker 3: You know, there are a lot of people who really
- 42:09Speaker 3: want to entertain the world but don't desire to be famous,
- 42:12Speaker 3: or people who have a voice that they want to
- 42:15Speaker 3: share with the world, but don't necessarily want to put
- 42:18Speaker 3: their face and name and share that with the world
- 42:20Speaker 3: as well. And so I think tools like AI, you know,
- 42:22Speaker 3: sometimes people can maybe alter their appearance because they think
- 42:26Speaker 3: that they need to fit with a different set of
- 42:28Speaker 3: beauty standards. But I also think that people alter their
- 42:31Speaker 3: appearance or even use you know, filters and things like
- 42:34Speaker 3: that to really allow themselves, the creator freedom to be
- 42:37Speaker 3: as as creative as they want and have as much
- 42:41Speaker 3: interaction as they want without you know, having the personal
- 42:44Speaker 3: preference of just wanting to be a private person. And
- 42:46Speaker 3: so I think these things are really amazing applications as well.
- 42:50Speaker 2: But when it comes to say, your creators that come
- 42:53Speaker 2: on to the big old Live platform, are there guidelines
- 42:57Speaker 2: as far as how this AI should be used responsibly?
- 43:01Speaker 2: Because we again we've seen it on other platforms where
- 43:04Speaker 2: it's like, well, wait a minute, that's pushing it. How
- 43:07Speaker 2: are the guidelines set up on Bigo Live?
- 43:09Speaker 3: Well? For us, our community guidelines and our community safety measures.
- 43:14Speaker 3: These things are also supported with AI tools, and so
- 43:17Speaker 3: for us as a platform for creators and users, we
- 43:21Speaker 3: allow users to use the tools to however they desire,
- 43:25Speaker 3: but we also have these just as fast cutting edge
- 43:28Speaker 3: tools to potentially allow us to predict and catch very
- 43:32Speaker 3: quickly things that can be harmful, like you know, things
- 43:35Speaker 3: like nudity and stuff like that that can be ultimately
- 43:37Speaker 3: harmful to an audience.
- 43:38Speaker 2: People are going to continue to use AI, whether it's
- 43:41Speaker 2: going to be minimal or whether they choose to go
- 43:44Speaker 2: all in on it. I don't know, and I think
- 43:47Speaker 2: this is an important discussion when it comes to responsibility
- 43:51Speaker 2: of a creator, and of course the platform itself with
- 43:53Speaker 2: big Oo, is taking very seriously. If our listeners Eric
- 43:57Speaker 2: want to get more information about Bigo Live become you know,
- 44:01Speaker 2: a content creator on it, what do they need to do?
- 44:03Speaker 3: Oh, that's a great question. We're readily available on all
- 44:06Speaker 3: major app stores, so you can go on to the
- 44:08Speaker 3: Google play Store, the App Store on iOS, search up
- 44:13Speaker 3: Begle Live and download us where free download and everyone
- 44:16Speaker 3: can check it out. There's great easy step by step
- 44:20Speaker 3: tools and buttons inside the app that will help guide
- 44:23Speaker 3: people to do so. But for us, it's really as
- 44:25Speaker 3: simple as you open the app, you set up your profile,
- 44:28Speaker 3: click camera on, and then you check it out and
- 44:31Speaker 3: see what it's like to live stream with the real world.
- 44:34Speaker 2: I have to ask will there be opportunities for monetization,
- 44:39Speaker 2: because I know a lot of creators they always look
- 44:41Speaker 2: at that, you know, how can they make money with
- 44:44Speaker 2: some of that? Will that be something that is available
- 44:46Speaker 2: or is.
- 44:46Speaker 4: It yes, absolutely.
- 44:47Speaker 3: We offer tremendous monetization opportunities for users based on various
- 44:52Speaker 3: levels of flexibility. So you have an opportunity to monetize
- 44:55Speaker 3: by maybe even live streaming like thirty minutes or just
- 44:58Speaker 3: one day in a whole month. You have also opportunities
- 45:01Speaker 3: to sign up for a month long commitment where you
- 45:04Speaker 3: look to make you know, almost a salary replacement money
- 45:07Speaker 3: as well.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Nice.
- 45:08Speaker 2: That's always nice to Once again, if they want to
- 45:11Speaker 2: get more information, where do they go to?
- 45:12Speaker 3: Eric, They go to Bigo Live dot tv, as well
- 45:17Speaker 3: as searching out big Live, b I G O, L
- 45:19Speaker 3: I ve E on all major op stores.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Awesome, great to talk with you today. I want to
- 45:23Speaker 2: thank you for coming on tech Talk Radio.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Thanks so much, Handy. I want to thank Eric.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Kim once again for coming on and talking to us
- 45:29Speaker 2: about Bigo Live and about AI and how AI has
- 45:33Speaker 2: made its way on a lot of social media platforms
- 45:37Speaker 2: that people are using. The social platform of Bigo Live
- 45:40Speaker 2: is content creators. Forty one percent of them have said
- 45:44Speaker 2: that they are curious about AI, yet many are unsure
- 45:48Speaker 2: about how it affects performance and audience relationships when they're
- 45:51Speaker 2: trying to make that visual connection.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Now.
- 45:54Speaker 2: I have seen some social media creators relying on AI
- 45:59Speaker 2: as we talked to in the discussion, but also you
- 46:02Speaker 2: know there are some that are using it to just
- 46:04Speaker 2: help make their workflow a little better. So again you
- 46:07Speaker 2: could check that out.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Bego live.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Now, before we get back to the guys, I wanted
- 46:11Speaker 2: to mention something and we've had Mike Nelson on the
- 46:14Speaker 2: show before, of course, Mike Nelson from Rift Tracks and
- 46:17Speaker 2: Mystery Science Theater. A lot of us remember watching that. Well,
- 46:20Speaker 2: the good news is new episodes of Mystery Science Theater
- 46:23Speaker 2: three thousand are going to be available. Four new episodes
- 46:27Speaker 2: have been confirmed, and there's also Rift Tracks. Now, if
- 46:32Speaker 2: you've not checked out Rift Tracks, I don't know if
- 46:34Speaker 2: you've ever done this. I remember doing this with my
- 46:37Speaker 2: boss when I worked for the City of Norwalk.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I can't remember what.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Movie it was, but we had picked up a mobile
- 46:44Speaker 2: TV production truck in San Antonio, Texas, and we had
- 46:49Speaker 2: to drive that truck all the way back from San
- 46:52Speaker 2: Antonio to Norwalk, California. And I don't even know if
- 46:56Speaker 2: they're still using that truck. It was super cool. I mean,
- 46:59Speaker 2: it had you could park it, it had production switchers inside,
- 47:03Speaker 2: the truck. You could then run the cables into the
- 47:06Speaker 2: city council chambers and we would do you know, two
- 47:10Speaker 2: three camera shoots of the city council meetings and this
- 47:13Speaker 2: is you know we're talking. It would have been mid
- 47:15Speaker 2: eighties that we were doing that, and then the local
- 47:18Speaker 2: cable channel would go ahead and then play it over
- 47:21Speaker 2: the cable network. He didn't have streaming video back then,
- 47:24Speaker 2: but it was really neat. Well, on that drive, I
- 47:27Speaker 2: remember me and the boss Chuck, we had to stop
- 47:32Speaker 2: because it's a long trip. We stopped in Lordsburg, New Mexico,
- 47:36Speaker 2: and stayed the night there and I remember it was
- 47:39Speaker 2: probably after we had dinner, came up to my room,
- 47:43Speaker 2: we put on the TV and we were just we
- 47:45Speaker 2: were laughing. Here's this guy, a total professional city manager,
- 47:50Speaker 2: you know, with me the production coordinator for the city,
- 47:54Speaker 2: and we turned the volume down on some really bad
- 47:57Speaker 2: movie and we were creating our own audio tracks for
- 48:01Speaker 2: that and it was just absolutely hilarious to see. Well,
- 48:05Speaker 2: that's when you know, riff tracks came along, and that's
- 48:08Speaker 2: basically what they did with the rifftracks experiments. They would
- 48:12Speaker 2: take a movie and they would provide kind of like
- 48:15Speaker 2: Mystery Science Theater three thousand where they would comment, but
- 48:18Speaker 2: this one, it was the entire audio was completely wiped out.
- 48:22Speaker 2: They did the first episode of Lost, and I used
- 48:26Speaker 2: to love that show. They did that first episode of
- 48:28Speaker 2: Lost as rift tracks and it was hilarious. Now they're
- 48:32Speaker 2: taking suggestions of what could be a good rift track movie,
- 48:37Speaker 2: and you can make those suggestions by going to the
- 48:39Speaker 2: web going to riff tracks. That's r I F F
- 48:43Speaker 2: t r a X makes M S T three k
- 48:48Speaker 2: dot com. All right, I'll put it in our show
- 48:51Speaker 2: notes as well, but that's r I F F t
- 48:54Speaker 2: r a X makes M S T three k dot com.
- 49:00Speaker 2: If you have not checked out Mystery Science Theater or
- 49:03Speaker 2: you've not checked out rip tracks, it can certainly be
- 49:07Speaker 2: a good laugh for you. So I want to thank Meg.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Mike Nelson again years ago came on the show and
- 49:11Speaker 2: talked about that. And we'll have to get that original
- 49:13Speaker 2: audio back up on the website. That would be cool.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Speaking of websites, here's a cool trick a website that
- 49:19Speaker 2: I found that you could do this with textbehindimage dot com.
- 49:24Speaker 2: If you've ever had a photo and you want to
- 49:25Speaker 2: put text behind it, this site makes it super easy
- 49:29Speaker 2: to do. That's what's so great. There's so many websites
- 49:32Speaker 2: that will give you all these tools and tricks. But
- 49:34Speaker 2: check out text behind image dot com. Well, we're gonna
- 49:38Speaker 2: be joined the show. Get back to tech talk Radio.
- 49:41Speaker 2: Find us on YouTube, Subscribe to us at tech talk
- 49:45Speaker 2: radio and be notified whenever we get new videos that
- 49:48Speaker 2: are going up there. We have short videos that are
- 49:50Speaker 2: up there as well. It's a lot of fun again
- 49:53Speaker 2: YouTube tech talk Radio.
- 49:54Speaker 4: We'll be right back.
- 49:55Speaker 1: And now back to tech talk Radio.
- 49:57Speaker 5: Hey, this is Mike Nelson from Mystery Science and rifftracks
- 50:01Speaker 5: dot com and you're listening to the greatest show on
- 50:03Speaker 5: the planet, tech talk Ratio.
- 50:07Speaker 7: During the break, we were talking about things we've recommended
- 50:10Speaker 7: for the show and things software we've been using, and
- 50:12Speaker 7: we like to keep you guys up to date on
- 50:13Speaker 7: the things that we're using in things you may like
- 50:16Speaker 7: to use. One of those websites is alternative to, which
- 50:19Speaker 7: gives you alternative options to software you may have installed
- 50:22Speaker 7: on your PC to give you other options open source,
- 50:24Speaker 7: et cetera. One of those things that comes up is
- 50:27Speaker 7: like okay, word pad or notepad, right, Yeah, one of
- 50:30Speaker 7: the alternatives is noepad plus plus, which is more beneficial
- 50:35Speaker 7: for developers, coders, et cetera, because you can do coding
- 50:37Speaker 7: in there and put line breaks in you know, your
- 50:39Speaker 7: comments in there.
- 50:40Speaker 4: Well.
- 50:41Speaker 7: Noeped plus plus apparently for several months has been pushing
- 50:47Speaker 7: malicious updates. Oh oh, so we've seen this before with
- 50:52Speaker 7: with seacleaner, last Pass, a couple other websites, other softwares
- 50:57Speaker 7: that we're pushing out malware and threat actors were apparently
- 51:02Speaker 7: remained undetected for months and distributed the most updates to
- 51:05Speaker 7: no paid plus plus. Uh wow that their lead developer said.
- 51:09Speaker 7: The preliminary investigation into the instance show that hackers went
- 51:13Speaker 7: undetected for around six months with those responsibility to be
- 51:16Speaker 7: a state affiliate state group. June of twenty twenty five
- 51:20Speaker 7: is when they found it.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Began this this is this is scary for open source software.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 51:28Speaker 7: It is right, because all it takes is one fork
- 51:30Speaker 7: to get it, you know, get compromised, and then that
- 51:34Speaker 7: fork gets overwritten with some.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Other and there's there's a level of trust that a
- 51:39Speaker 2: lot of us have have, you know, when we get
- 51:43Speaker 2: to open source stuff, and especially one like nope plus,
- 51:46Speaker 2: noe pad plus plus that it's got great reviews.
- 51:48Speaker 4: You say, Okay, this is gonna be good.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Everybody's gonna, you know, try it, and again you have
- 51:52Speaker 2: that level of trust and suddenly oops, they had a problem.
- 51:56Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, so uh beauma. Their developer is rec many
- 52:00Speaker 7: that you updates eight point nine point one or higher
- 52:05Speaker 7: just to make sure you're not getting one of those
- 52:07Speaker 7: compromised versions.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Right.
- 52:10Speaker 7: Yeah, So this is just a little bit of a
- 52:11Speaker 7: bummer when you hear about a great platform that you're using,
- 52:13Speaker 7: that you've recommended to people, and then this happens, right,
- 52:16Speaker 7: and it's just a bummer.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Imagine how much data they were able to steal.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I told you don't know, Yeah.
- 52:23Speaker 7: You don't know. There's no there's no indication on what
- 52:26Speaker 7: the extent of the data that.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Was taken is.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:29Speaker 2: That seems to be the way it goes with a
- 52:31Speaker 2: lot of these these I don't want to say digital
- 52:34Speaker 2: break ins, but basically we don't find out till much later.
- 52:38Speaker 4: You know, That's just seems to be the case. I
- 52:40Speaker 4: wanted to mention.
- 52:42Speaker 2: I brought up Anti Gravity, the A one, the drone
- 52:46Speaker 2: that the company Anti Gravity sent me over, and I
- 52:49Speaker 2: looked at it and it was great. I just found
- 52:51Speaker 2: out this is only good until Monday, but there's a
- 52:54Speaker 2: fifteen percent discount if you've been thinking about looking at
- 52:57Speaker 2: A three hundred and sixty three. It uses Insta three
- 53:02Speaker 2: sixty camera technology in it. Fifteen percent discount on all
- 53:06Speaker 2: of the A one bundles. Again, this ends this coming Monday.
- 53:10Speaker 2: But they've added something and I want to I still
- 53:12Speaker 2: haven't sent it back yet, and so I'm thinking, I
- 53:14Speaker 2: want to try this out. It's flight simulator, so you
- 53:17Speaker 2: put on the goggles and you're basically in a flight
- 53:21Speaker 2: sim and it's to teach you that muscle memory because
- 53:24Speaker 2: I didn't realize that there's a lot of muscle memory
- 53:27Speaker 2: when you're flying wearing goggles that you have to remember
- 53:30Speaker 2: where you're turning, how you're turning, how you're holding your hand,
- 53:33Speaker 2: the whole bit. But they've decided to add that so
- 53:35Speaker 2: that people can feel that low risk entry into getting
- 53:39Speaker 2: into you know, this type of flying will be a
- 53:42Speaker 2: little more comfortable once they finally take their drone out
- 53:45Speaker 2: and start flying it. So again, if you get that,
- 53:47Speaker 2: that's something they've just added.
- 53:49Speaker 7: They're they're doing a big push because you know, DJ
- 53:52Speaker 7: I got banned from selling stuff in the US. Yeah,
- 53:55Speaker 7: they're just took a big, big push trying to get
- 53:57Speaker 7: that market share.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Well, this one was released December fourth, and the band
- 54:01Speaker 2: went into effect December twenty fifth. So for any drone
- 54:04Speaker 2: announced app from this point on, you're if it's made overseas,
- 54:08Speaker 2: you're gonna have an issue with it. But again, hopefully
- 54:11Speaker 2: you get a chance over the weekend to test out
- 54:13Speaker 2: the flight simulator and any big plans for the weekend
- 54:15Speaker 2: for you guys, have you gonna watch the skydiving?
- 54:18Speaker 4: Yeah? It works. Really you're gonna do You're gonna do it?
- 54:23Speaker 4: I love it again.
- 54:24Speaker 5: We're going we're going back to I fly indoor skydivings.
- 54:27Speaker 4: Oh, there you go. We went last year for my birthday.
- 54:30Speaker 5: We were gonna go last week, but we weren't feeling
- 54:33Speaker 5: the greatest, so I was like, yeah, I don't really
- 54:34Speaker 5: want to do that. So no, we're going. Actually I'm sorry,
- 54:38Speaker 5: not this weekend. It's next weekend. We're going on Valentine's Day.
- 54:40Speaker 4: Oh, there you go. That'd be good, Sean. How about you.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Uh, indoor lacrosse starts this weekend.
- 54:46Speaker 4: So wow, I'll be indoor indoor napping. Yes, I'll be
- 54:51Speaker 4: indoor napping. All right. That's it for this week's Tech
- 54:54Speaker 4: Talk Radio.
- 54:54Speaker 5: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, and I'm Justin Lemmy.
- 54:58Speaker 5: And for the record, I do like lacrosse. We'll see
- 55:01Speaker 5: you next week, mm hmm
