Latest / The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast / BREAKING NEWS: No Bachelorette Season, But Will We Still Get a Happy Couple??
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio. All Right,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hi everybody, it's Trista and I'm here with Heather and
- 0:08Speaker 1: we're popping in with some breaking news. It is reported
- 0:12Speaker 1: on US Weekly that Taylor Frankie Paul is trying to
- 0:15Speaker 1: make it work with Bachelorette contestant Doug Mason. And for
- 0:19Speaker 1: those of you who haven't heard his name, maybe you've
- 0:24Speaker 1: seen his picture. This is him, uh, and it I
- 0:29Speaker 1: believe was reported that they ended up together at the
- 0:33Speaker 1: end of her season. Yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I feel like this is like the worst kept secret
- 0:40Speaker 2: ending of a season ever, of a season we don't
- 0:42Speaker 2: know if we're even going to see, is that it
- 0:46Speaker 2: is Doug is the winner.
- 0:48Speaker 3: And they not only.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Were like paparazzi together before the season got pulled, but
- 0:55Speaker 2: they you know, Sleuth's found out that that TikTok she
- 0:58Speaker 2: posted with the arm was him that day, right right,
- 1:01Speaker 2: because he was seen photographed wearing the same shirt. So,
- 1:05Speaker 2: I mean, I really don't feel like we have to
- 1:07Speaker 2: give a spoiler alert on this because this is literally
- 1:12Speaker 2: everywhere on the internet. So we're just reporting on what's
- 1:17Speaker 2: already out there.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yes we are.
- 1:21Speaker 1: The report goes on to say Taylor Frankie Paul is
- 1:24Speaker 1: giving her romance with the Bachelorette contestant Doug Mason a
- 1:27Speaker 1: second chance. A source exclusively tells US Weekly that Taylor
- 1:31Speaker 1: and Doug are seeing each other again and are trying
- 1:33Speaker 1: to make it work after her season of the reality
- 1:36Speaker 1: show was pulled by ABC. They were hanging out recently
- 1:40Speaker 1: and want to see if they can get back together
- 1:42Speaker 1: and be a couple. Of the insider ads, which you know,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I believe, we don't know any of this. Of course,
- 1:49Speaker 1: this is all conjecture because the season hasn't aired, and
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know, all we're hearing is what's on social media
- 1:55Speaker 1: and through tabloids whatever. So I will say that living
- 1:59Speaker 1: kind of this public eye life, you can't always believe
- 2:03Speaker 1: everything you read, right, But there are a lot of
- 2:06Speaker 1: reports to say that the reason that this didn't work
- 2:10Speaker 1: out is because her and Dakota and the whole all
- 2:14Speaker 1: of the domestic violence incidents and you know, all of
- 2:17Speaker 1: that drama and toxicity is most likely what caused the
- 2:22Speaker 1: demise of Taylor and Doug's relationship. Hopefully we'll know at
- 2:28Speaker 1: some point if they ever air this season, So we
- 2:32Speaker 1: don't know for sure, but what us weekly is reporting
- 2:34Speaker 1: is that they're trying to work things out, and I
- 2:38Speaker 1: would love to see her happy, But I also feel
- 2:42Speaker 1: like this is the time where she needs to be
- 2:45Speaker 1: focusing on, you know, healing and being with her kids.
- 2:51Speaker 4: I am not her. I can't put myself in her shoes,
- 2:54Speaker 4: so I.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Don't know what helps her heal. I do know that
- 2:58Speaker 1: on Instagram and her post it seems like she's in therapy, she's,
- 3:03Speaker 1: you know, doing all of these things to help heal.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You bring a good point, though, Trista. Her last week
- 3:10Speaker 2: her social media went dark. We should actually check to see,
- 3:14Speaker 2: Oh that's right, up, that's right, it looks like it's
- 3:18Speaker 2: still down.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Uh to this point.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I mean that's a massive that's a massive part of
- 3:25Speaker 1: healing probably for her, is deleting her social media accounts
- 3:29Speaker 1: so she can, you know, just focus on her own
- 3:34Speaker 1: personal healing and being with her.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Which we talked about felt a little almost too late,
- 3:38Speaker 2: like she should have been doing this like a month
- 3:41Speaker 2: ago when everything was kind of like hitting the fan
- 3:44Speaker 2: because we kind of talked about this, but nobody really
- 3:47Speaker 2: deserves to see and be bombarded with as much information
- 3:53Speaker 2: as was coming out about her on a.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Daily basis, no kidding. She really should have shut that
- 3:58Speaker 3: down earlier.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Couple of things I wanted to point out about this,
- 4:01Speaker 2: and somebody that's been in the public eye as long
- 4:03Speaker 2: as you have can probably back.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Me up on this.
- 4:06Speaker 2: But there's a lot of gossip sites out there in
- 4:10Speaker 2: the Internet, and not everyone is a trustworthy place to
- 4:15Speaker 2: gain information. Places like US Weekly, People Magazine, TMZ that
- 4:23Speaker 2: have sources and direct quotes, these things tend to stand
- 4:29Speaker 2: above the others. Big magazines like US and People. In
- 4:35Speaker 2: my opinion and having done this for a long time,
- 4:39Speaker 2: they tend to have correct information and it's very It's
- 4:44Speaker 2: not often when they do a retraction, and that's because celebrities.
- 4:49Speaker 2: The source is usually somebody in the celebrities camp. Actually
- 4:55Speaker 2: who is giving that information. Now you can say Taylor
- 5:00Speaker 2: Frankie Paul's not a celebrity. She is, she has a
- 5:03Speaker 2: team and all of that. So when I hear that
- 5:06Speaker 2: there's a direct quote in this article, it makes me
- 5:10Speaker 2: think that it's either coming from somebody in her camp
- 5:14Speaker 2: or it's coming from somebody on the show.
- 5:17Speaker 4: And true.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you can tell me.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I'm sure we know that there's been untrue articles and
- 5:23Speaker 2: things like that written about yourself that have floated around
- 5:26Speaker 2: on the Internet. But how often would you say the
- 5:30Speaker 2: US Weekly, the people the TMZ are the ones putting
- 5:34Speaker 2: out those fake stories.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I mean, I would say less often. People especially, they
- 5:39Speaker 1: are my go to for you know, truth at least
- 5:44Speaker 1: and what is called the tabloid arena, right, I feel
- 5:48Speaker 1: like they are most likely put in the category of tabloid.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But I feel like I believe usually what I read
- 5:57Speaker 1: in people. It's hard because yes, the quotes are quotes,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and you know that they're quotes from a source, But
- 6:06Speaker 1: what we don't know is it's taken out of context.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Possibly so is it taken out of.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Context from a person who is saying these things because
- 6:18Speaker 1: they have a vendetta because they you know, we don't
- 6:23Speaker 1: know the intention of the person who said the quote,
- 6:27Speaker 1: and they could be saying the quote and making it up.
- 6:30Speaker 1: We don't know the validity of or the integrity, Yes,
- 6:35Speaker 1: the integrity of the person who is saying the things
- 6:38Speaker 1: they're saying.
- 6:39Speaker 3: That's true.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But usually these outlets that we're specifically talking about do
- 6:45Speaker 2: a little bit of due diligence before they're putting stuff,
- 6:48Speaker 2: you know, into an article, because we did see with
- 6:51Speaker 2: people right last week, they reported that she was not
- 6:55Speaker 2: coming back to Secret Lives and Mormon Wives, and then
- 6:58Speaker 2: literally almost immediate Lee had to write another article saying
- 7:03Speaker 2: that the door was still open, because she had started
- 7:07Speaker 2: commenting being like, that's not what I heard, and it
- 7:10Speaker 2: was like she walked away or chose not to film
- 7:13Speaker 2: and she was given the option, blah blah blah. That
- 7:16Speaker 2: is a situation where I'm like, oh, they bounced back
- 7:18Speaker 2: really quickly. But I think that that was information coming
- 7:21Speaker 2: too quickly, that they were just trying to be the
- 7:24Speaker 2: first or whatever to get the story out right. I
- 7:26Speaker 2: think that this is interesting though, when I see this article,
- 7:30Speaker 2: because as we're recording this on Wednesday, we know that
- 7:34Speaker 2: tomorrow Taylor has a court hearing with Dakota and it
- 7:38Speaker 2: is about the custody situation.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 7:42Speaker 2: This is a very planted story. Do I know if
- 7:47Speaker 2: it is true or not. I don't, but the timing
- 7:49Speaker 2: of it makes me feel like it's very planted.
- 7:52Speaker 3: The court hearing's tomorrow.
- 7:54Speaker 2: We already know that in her last court hearing she
- 7:56Speaker 2: didn't get further charges put against her, so I feel
- 8:00Speaker 2: like this is an anticipation of her regaining custody or
- 8:04Speaker 2: something going in her favor tomorrow. We now have this
- 8:09Speaker 2: glimmer of oh, well, she's also trying to make it
- 8:12Speaker 2: work with her winner, don't we want to see this
- 8:15Speaker 2: love story play out? And it gives that narrative back
- 8:20Speaker 2: out there too. Her season should air, shouldn't it? Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 2: it should da DA D D. So it feels very
- 8:29Speaker 2: convenient to me that this story is coming out just
- 8:33Speaker 2: days or a day before her next court hearing.
- 8:37Speaker 3: And that's my perspective on this.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I mean, it could very well be.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I can see that happening, because there are reasons that
- 8:47Speaker 1: sources come out, sources who are anonymous come out and
- 8:50Speaker 1: say certain things, and some of those sources could be
- 8:54Speaker 1: a pr rep. We're not saying that, but we're we're
- 8:58Speaker 1: just saying that it could potentially be wrapped around trying
- 9:01Speaker 1: to get the season to air. So I think whoever,
- 9:06Speaker 1: if that is the case, that whoever is in that
- 9:09Speaker 1: position is doing a great job, because I want to
- 9:12Speaker 1: see the season exactly. They're doing a good job at
- 9:16Speaker 1: their job.
- 9:17Speaker 2: You know, we reported that Rob Mills at the Hulu
- 9:31Speaker 2: event a week ago was saying, you know, essentially never
- 9:35Speaker 2: say never to her season airing. He was keeping that
- 9:39Speaker 2: door open as well. So it feels like they're laying
- 9:44Speaker 2: the foundation that tomorrow could potentially go in her favor. Now,
- 9:48Speaker 2: none of us know because none of us are involved
- 9:51Speaker 2: in this court case or legal experts, so we will
- 9:53Speaker 2: have to just kind of wait and see. We had
- 9:55Speaker 2: a legal expert on last week kind of gave us
- 9:59Speaker 2: her opinion on things and told us that she thinks
- 10:02Speaker 2: that this court hearing might not actually happen tomorrow because
- 10:06Speaker 2: she thinks that both sides might be trying to gain
- 10:09Speaker 2: more evidence because this is kind of a fairly rushed situation.
- 10:13Speaker 2: So she was not would not be surprised, she said,
- 10:16Speaker 2: if this hearing tomorrow doesn't even happen, So we'll be
- 10:19Speaker 2: keeping an eye on it, obviously reporting on it here
- 10:23Speaker 2: if it does happen. But so the consensus is you
- 10:27Speaker 2: want to see the season. My consensus, I think as
- 10:31Speaker 2: well as yours, though, is that maybe dating is not
- 10:36Speaker 2: the time right now. Maybe it's the time to heal
- 10:39Speaker 2: and work on that. Yeah, because she has kind of
- 10:42Speaker 2: gone from you know, marriage to Dakota to you know, bachelorette.
- 10:49Speaker 2: It's all been very back to back with the men
- 10:51Speaker 2: with the men, So I think, yeah, maybe it's time
- 10:54Speaker 2: to have a breather for a second. And I do
- 10:57Speaker 2: like to see the fact that she's still off social
- 10:59Speaker 2: media right now as we're reporting on Wednesday.
- 11:01Speaker 4: I agree.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I think that is a very healthy decision. And whoever
- 11:07Speaker 1: came up with it, if it was her, if it
- 11:09Speaker 1: was her people, if a friend, family, whatever, I think
- 11:13Speaker 1: it was very wise. And I'm hoping that it gives
- 11:16Speaker 1: her some kind of peace because I cannot imagine. I
- 11:21Speaker 1: cannot imagine how much she is bombarded every single day.
- 11:26Speaker 1: I mean, I have always thanked my lucky stars that
- 11:29Speaker 1: social media was not around when I was on the show,
- 11:32Speaker 1: because I don't know that I could handle it, Like
- 11:36Speaker 1: my mental health, I don't know that I could have
- 11:39Speaker 1: handled it. So I think that what she's doing is
- 11:42Speaker 1: a really good idea.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I don't think anybody could handle the influx that she faced.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And for anybody listening this again does not condone the
- 11:53Speaker 2: actions that we saw in the video.
- 11:56Speaker 3: None of us can condone that whatsoever.
- 11:58Speaker 2: But you have to be a little understanding that none
- 12:05Speaker 2: of us have been in this person's shoes where that
- 12:08Speaker 2: was the top story for over four or five days
- 12:13Speaker 2: every single media outlet in the country was reporting on this.
- 12:18Speaker 2: The woman had to have been getting some insane messages.
- 12:23Speaker 2: We saw videos reporting on it, we saw her commenting
- 12:26Speaker 2: on them, which meant she was seeing the media attention
- 12:29Speaker 2: she was getting. And so that is not healthy for anyone,
- 12:34Speaker 2: and none of us, none of us listening, none of
- 12:36Speaker 2: us on these microphones, has ever been in that kind
- 12:38Speaker 2: of situation. And so at the end of the day,
- 12:42Speaker 2: human to human, we just hope that she was taking
- 12:45Speaker 2: the right steps to protecting herself because at the end
- 12:48Speaker 2: of the day, she is a mother to three children
- 12:51Speaker 2: and that is her most important role. And we're just
- 12:56Speaker 2: all happy, like we said, to see that she's off
- 12:58Speaker 2: social media right now because that seems like the best thing.
- 13:01Speaker 4: For her, agreed.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And whatever happens with Doug, you know, I just want
- 13:06Speaker 1: her to be happy. I just want her to be
- 13:08Speaker 1: able to find happiness. And who knows if that's with him,
- 13:12Speaker 1: who knows if that's just so low and single. Who
- 13:16Speaker 1: knows if she'll meet somebody else someday down the road.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But I just, period end of story, want her to
- 13:22Speaker 1: be happy.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so too.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Well. Thanks Trista for jumping on with me and like
- 13:27Speaker 2: I said, we'll obviously be covering this on the almost
- 13:30Speaker 2: famous podcast about You Know if anything ends up happening
- 13:33Speaker 2: on Thursday with her next court hearing with Dakota awesome.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Thanks for listening guys, Bye,
