  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm, you know, my subjective view of Travis Hunter is that I think he's going to be a great player and I think he's going to be really good on both sides of the ball and that I think that giving up what they gave up will ultimately be worth it because I think he is truly a unique and special football player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think this year, it's become somewhat apparent that he will at least be closer to a full-time corner than a full-time wide receiver, even though a lot of people have talked about he's gonna major in corner and minor in receiver.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be on offense a good amount.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be on defense a lot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of folks out there would kind of just look at the numbers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But what does he need to do to pay off the fact that the Jaguars traded up from five to two gave up a 2026 first round pick and a 2025 second round pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you basically you're doing a pick swap for five and two and then on top of it giving up a second rounder and a first rounder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: To me, that means you had the opportunity before making that trade to land three potentially high impact players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like you're talking about a fifth overall pick, another first-round pick which would have been ended up like, what was it, 24 or 25 something like that this year, and then the second-round pick from 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's three players you could have gotten for the price of one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: for the price of Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot for one player to make up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, you had to hit on those players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You had to go get players with a fifth pick, the first round pick in 2026 and the second round pick in 2025 that were actually good players for that to mean anything.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And like going and looking what the Browns have done with those draft picks means nothing to me because that's not what the Jaguars would have done with those draft picks, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of people will look at it and say, like, well, I mean, to give up three players to get one player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This guy needs to be elite at multiple positions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He needs to be in a elite wide receiver and an elite corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He needs to put up big numbers at both spots.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He needs to go get five interceptions every year and get 800 plus yards every year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He needs to be really producing at an extremely high level statistically on both sides of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Quite frankly, don't give much of a crap about his actual counting numbers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they matter all that much because there's going to be years where he's needed up more on one side of the ball than the other.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have the ability with or without Travis Hunter in my opinion, to make the playoffs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Travis Hunter because he is a singular talent that can be potentially the best wide receiver on the field in it and a given game and the best corner on the field in a given game and or, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Wherever you need him in a given situation and a given week and a winner go home game, you need him to be able to come up big.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's why Travis Hunter is here in my opinion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what would make it worth giving up a first-round pick and a second-round pick to go get Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter being a star on both sides of the ball, not from a production and statistical standpoint, but from a winning you football game standpoint, when it matters most.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we'll be looked at much differently than it's looked at right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They got Mason Graham, they got Quintion, Judgkins, they got, um, and yes, there were more picks involved, but it was closer to like pick swaps later in the draft than anything significant.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If anything, it was in the Jaguar's favor later in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that does factor into it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that does make the trade a little bit more palatable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But in the end, what really you look at is the big value pieces of that trade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, that was the Jaguars giving up a second-round pick, a first-round pick, and trading the fifth pick to get to two overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think when you look at that, the players, the Browns got, they could be great.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in on Travis Hunter in a very big way.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he has the talent to be one of the top two to three best corners in football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also think he has the talent to be a top 10 wide receiver in football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What does he need to do just individually to improve in my opinion?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not much on defense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've gone back and watched all his defensive snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was excellent as a corner last year, as a rookie, excellent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he did make a hell of a play, late in a ball game, in week two of his rookie season, that they called a blatant miss.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That was a missed call.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a great corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's ready to be a top-flight corner right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A wide receiver, it's the attention to detail.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's the timing, the nuance, understanding how to get where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there and how to do it the most efficiently from a route-running standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I have no issue with his ability to create separation down the field, to win on two wagos, to win with the ball in his hands, to go up and get the football in a contested situation in a big moment.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's the finer points of the receiver position that I think Travis Hunter is still honing in on.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And again, this year, 2026, do they need him to be a top-flight receiver?

  [SPEAKER_00]: They just need him to be a piece that they can utilize when they see fit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And in my opinion, what they need to do a little bit, like I think they've been doing a good job coaching the technique, like the finer points again, of being a receiver, but you know, Edgar Bennett, the entire offensive coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think they need to do a better job of getting him opportunities down the field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Five yard, two ego, and turn it into 10, 15 yards.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But given him the opportunity to make explosives down the field, which is really dang good at doing, I think is a big deal for the Jaguars moving into 2026 and beyond, cause they've got guys that can make place.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've got a really good perceiving tight end.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Good receiving back, multiple good receiving backs in my opinion with Tutan and Alan.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They need him in my opinion to help them hunt explosives this year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they need to utilize him as this, like, get us five yards, seven yards, eight yards.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Hunt to explosives with him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'd be doing a little bit more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Get him vertical, a little bit more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you can do the same thing with BTJ, and I'm not against giving him some quick things to get him going on the offensive side of the wall, early in a game, get him a screen, get him a two-way go from the slot, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: These things, there's nothing wrong with that, but that shouldn't be,

  [SPEAKER_00]: the end game this year at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think they were figuring that out last year, but basically to me, he just needs to be somebody who can take over in a huge game for him to warrant what they gave up for him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't need to be about him getting a thousand yards and 500 receptions every year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's the impact in the moments for Travis Hunter.
