Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, this is Zach Brass and Donald Fazer. This
- 0:04Speaker 1: episode was recorded before the strike. We were not allowed
- 0:08Speaker 1: to air it because we're not allowed to talk about
- 0:10Speaker 1: scrubs during the strike. So if it seems like we're
- 0:12Speaker 1: not talking about anything relevant to today, it's because it
- 0:16Speaker 1: was recorded way back when when.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Joel July eleventh.
- 0:20Speaker 1: July eleventh, Holy cown.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Today's November twenty first.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Wow, well that's when we're recording. This is gonna air
- 0:27Speaker 1: when Joel.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Next week, the twentieth.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And I also want to tell you, because it's the
- 0:31Speaker 1: twenty eighth, A Good Person is finally available for free
- 0:35Speaker 1: on Amazon Prime. You can watch A Good Person tonight
- 0:39Speaker 1: on Amazon Prime for free. If you haven't had a
- 0:42Speaker 1: chance to check it out, please check it out. We
- 0:45Speaker 1: love you. Here's the show. Hi, everybody, Welcome to the program.
- 0:49Speaker 1: This is called Fake Doctor's Real Friends.
- 0:52Speaker 3: And do you know why it's called Fake Doctor's.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Real Friend ZB Is that Donald one?
- 0:58Speaker 3: Because we're real friends. But at one point in life,
- 1:01Speaker 3: we were on a show called scrub Right.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It ran in the ATS and we played fake doctors
- 1:08Speaker 1: and the show is beloved across the universe even today.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So many years later, I can't believe it. And what
- 1:15Speaker 1: we decided to do was get together and record our
- 1:19Speaker 1: conversations about the old program, our memories, our recollections, some
- 1:25Speaker 1: inside jokes, and a whole lot of tangents. And you know, yes,
- 1:30Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 1:30Speaker 3: You know what that's called.
- 1:31Speaker 1: What's that called a podcast?
- 1:35Speaker 3: Play dude?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yes, that's true, Donald, and we we've created a podcast
- 1:40Speaker 1: that is is beloved across the universe. The universe, Joelle,
- 1:44Speaker 1: the universe, not just on Earth. We get letters from Pluto,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the Dagaba system, Yeah, the Dagaba System. I got a
- 1:55Speaker 1: wonderful piece of art from Jupiter.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Who Tank Forever? Who Tank Forever? I'm good speaking of
- 2:06Speaker 4: Who Tank Forever? You know, there have been a lot
- 2:10Speaker 4: of movies that have come out recently, and I've had
- 2:13Speaker 4: the opportunity to sit down and enjoy some of them.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Some of them I enjoyed a lot, some of them
- 2:18Speaker 3: not so much.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Some of them I But these are the movies that
- 2:21Speaker 4: I've seen since the strike has gone on.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Go ahead, Indiana Jones, Go Ahead, Avatar, Way of the Water. Okay,
- 2:31Speaker 3: I watched it, finally, It's a long one. Yes, what
- 2:35Speaker 3: else did I see? The Transformers?
- 2:38Speaker 5: Wow?
- 2:38Speaker 1: You're the guy. You're the guy who watched it the
- 2:44Speaker 1: flash right.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Anyway, at one point in the box office, three weeks
- 2:51Speaker 4: in a row, people of color were the number one. Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 4: it was a freaking awesome moment. I'm gonna just put
- 3:01Speaker 4: it out there. Just read it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: For like three weeks straight, we was rocking that shit.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I don't understand because the movies you just mentioned didn't
- 3:13Speaker 1: star people of color, So can you explain what you're
- 3:15Speaker 1: talking about?
- 3:16Speaker 4: So like Transformers right, number one movie in a box
- 3:20Speaker 4: office two people of color, the Miles Morales in the
- 3:25Speaker 4: Spider Verse. I saw that also, Oh my gosh, oh
- 3:29Speaker 4: my gosh, all of them.
- 3:31Speaker 3: That's my favorite for show the dad that.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Had hit you so hard, like a lot of levels.
- 3:36Speaker 4: There's just so many things about that movie. Like I
- 3:39Speaker 4: went in there thinking it was gonna be the first
- 3:41Speaker 4: one all over again, something that was a little bit
- 3:43Speaker 4: catered towards kids.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And stuff like that.
- 3:46Speaker 4: But Miles Moraless has grown up a bit.
- 3:50Speaker 3: He's grown up quite a bit.
- 3:51Speaker 4: That thing is like, it's not a kid's movie, man,
- 3:53Speaker 4: it's a you know, shout out to to Chris and
- 3:57Speaker 4: film man. Yo, dude, Okay.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I read that the flash is uh, I think going
- 4:05Speaker 1: to be the biggest flop of all time, the biggest
- 4:08Speaker 1: flop of all time, Joelle, Is that true?
- 4:10Speaker 2: That's what I'm hearing.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Zach had abysmal opening weekend and it's just been a
- 4:17Speaker 6: spiral every day since. So it's wild, uh that we're here.
- 4:23Speaker 6: I think some people tried to predict it. It's like, hey,
- 4:28Speaker 6: I don't know if it's gonna hit.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I'm gonna say I think it really shows you how
- 4:32Speaker 4: strong the LGBTQ community is. Also, though, you know what
- 4:36Speaker 4: I mean, because a lot of the protests came from
- 4:39Speaker 4: that area and has shown and it's shown, Look, you
- 4:45Speaker 4: can't be that type of person and expect us to
- 4:49Speaker 4: come out and support you.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Ron, for sure, I'd like to say that it was
- 4:53Speaker 6: just the strength of the LGBTQ I a community, and yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 6: we did it. But I really think that specifically see
- 5:00Speaker 6: at Warner Brothers has disenfranchises.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I don't want to say this.
- 5:05Speaker 6: It's just there's a lot of people who have issues
- 5:07Speaker 6: with it, from a lot of to there's that angle.
- 5:09Speaker 6: There's the people who love Zack Snyder and the people
- 5:11Speaker 6: who did not like Zack Snyder's films. Both of them
- 5:14Speaker 6: have issues and didn't show up to see this movie.
- 5:17Speaker 6: It's just it's it's they're up against so much. And
- 5:19Speaker 6: because this is the final film of an installment that
- 5:22Speaker 6: is not going for where James Gun has been very
- 5:24Speaker 6: clear about the new direction of DC. I think a
- 5:26Speaker 6: lot of people are like, Oh, I just wait for
- 5:27Speaker 6: it to come out on DVD if I want to
- 5:29Speaker 6: see it. But it's not building to you anything so
- 5:32Speaker 6: and it's not really a finale. It's kind of swishy washy.
- 5:35Speaker 6: And because of that, I think they weren't able to
- 5:38Speaker 6: gather any type of audience to kind of come see
- 5:40Speaker 6: and support the movie.
- 5:42Speaker 3: It's very interesting how powerful Hollywood it is.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Zach.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You've got a very big weekend coming soon. You've got
- 5:48Speaker 3: Barbie and Oppenheimer. I know you're excited about that.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I would see for finally, there's two films that I
- 5:54Speaker 1: would like to see in the theater that I'd like
- 5:56Speaker 1: to see them both. I don't know if I'm gonna
- 5:58Speaker 1: be able to get a ticket to see them both
- 5:59Speaker 1: open weekend anymore, because.
- 6:01Speaker 3: That's gonna be really that's interesting, man, This thing is
- 6:03Speaker 3: like Barbie and Oppenheimer on are on track to freaking
- 6:07Speaker 3: breaking the box office.
- 6:09Speaker 2: This double feature tickets.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They already they announced that over twenty thousand people had
- 6:14Speaker 1: bought double feature tickets so far. Well, what are they
- 6:21Speaker 1: calling it? Barbenheimer?
- 6:22Speaker 6: Burbenheimer. Yeah, I bought the t shirt at the Barbie
- 6:28Speaker 6: one with the nuclear bomb explosion reflected in her sunglasses.
- 6:32Speaker 1: It's really cool.
- 6:33Speaker 6: So I'm gonna go fully decked out, got a whole
- 6:35Speaker 6: friend group.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I'm thrilled. I'm very excited.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm really Yeah, go ahead and say we're gonna find
- 6:40Speaker 1: out any second, well any hour now, because we are
- 6:43Speaker 1: recording this on the eleventh of July. If SAG is
- 6:47Speaker 1: gonna strike yep. Now, if SAG strikes, you're not allowed
- 6:52Speaker 1: to even promote a movie. So both of those movies,
- 6:55Speaker 1: even though Barbie's had their premiere, I believe they they'll
- 6:59Speaker 1: have to. It's not that they need to help, of course, duh,
- 7:02Speaker 1: But I mean they both have to stop. The actors
- 7:05Speaker 1: will no longer be able to promote their their movies.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Aren't they like overseas right now? A lot of them
- 7:10Speaker 3: doing this.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Like are they just yesterday or the day before Sunday?
- 7:15Speaker 6: They had their premiere?
- 7:16Speaker 3: But isn't the Oppenheimer crew overseas and stuff like that
- 7:19Speaker 3: doing press.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I don't think they've started yet. I don't know, but
- 7:22Speaker 1: I just know that no matter what you're doing as
- 7:25Speaker 1: an actor, whether in a gigantic movie like that or
- 7:28Speaker 1: you're in a smaller, little indie movie, you are not
- 7:30Speaker 1: allowed to even promote it on Instagram. Once the SAG
- 7:34Speaker 1: strike starts and and all signs are pointing to a strike.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I was thinking it was going to be averted, but
- 7:40Speaker 1: it's not looking good. You can't even be like, check
- 7:45Speaker 1: out my ship?
- 7:47Speaker 3: Can you post on Instagram like, you know, look at
- 7:51Speaker 3: my animation? Yes, well you're non union? Can union?
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's not you and less you as a producer, have
- 8:01Speaker 1: decided to unionize your garage animation. I finally said to
- 8:09Speaker 1: Donald today, I go, dude, an epiphany. Why are you
- 8:14Speaker 1: animating some of our little moments on this show? You've
- 8:18Speaker 1: you've gotten so good, You're fucking doing Star Wars. Why
- 8:22Speaker 1: aren't you doing little segments of fake Doctor's real friends?
- 8:25Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 8:26Speaker 3: I have puppets being built as we speak, sir dummy.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Wow. All of a sudden, I was like, if I
- 8:32Speaker 1: see one more why Kenoby quote?
- 8:38Speaker 4: I have puppets being built. It's expensively and it's coming
- 8:41Speaker 4: out of my own pocket.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But I want a Zach Braf puppet. Okay, okay, there,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we can make him say anything.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna make him say a lot better. You know
- 8:53Speaker 3: what I say. I'm gonna make him say, imagine these
- 8:56Speaker 3: I'm gonna say. I'm say you know what, I make
- 8:57Speaker 3: him say, no exactly, I'm gonna make them say, imagine Dragon.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Imagine Dragon needs not to cross your face.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Can I tell you guys something funny? I said this
- 9:14Speaker 1: to you guys. Oh. Also, we got Mission Impossible coming out.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Oh true.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Listen, if you got a movie that's another the one trending,
- 9:22Speaker 4: that's trend that's really trending.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I'm just saying you got twenty four hours. If you've
- 9:25Speaker 1: got a movie coming out, big or small, promote the
- 9:27Speaker 1: shit out of it because you're not allowed to in
- 9:29Speaker 1: twenty four hours. Fact clock is ticking. We got to
- 9:33Speaker 1: promote promote it. Now.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Holy shit, I wonder.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Where this guy sent this to you guys.
- 9:39Speaker 3: But even on our podcast we talked about movies. Today
- 9:45Speaker 3: you can talk about movies.
- 9:46Speaker 2: We're not an upcoming projects.
- 9:48Speaker 1: We're reporting them, you can't promote your own wares. By
- 9:53Speaker 1: the way, the exemptions, interestingly are animation and commercials, which
- 9:56Speaker 1: are part of different contracts. So if you were in
- 9:59Speaker 1: an animated.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So I'm not, I don't even have to worry about.
- 10:02Speaker 3: I don't worry about if you were in.
- 10:03Speaker 1: A new T mobile commercial, you could promote it. Wait,
- 10:07Speaker 1: can I play the audience this this guy. You guys
- 10:10Speaker 1: barely reacted to this, but I thought this was the
- 10:11Speaker 1: funniest thing I'd ever seen. I sent it to y'all.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It's this guy. His name is Gabe Gibbs, and he
- 10:18Speaker 1: takes songs and he Broadway Broadway affies them. Oh and
- 10:23Speaker 1: he took You didn't see this, Donald, I said, no.
- 10:26Speaker 3: You sent it to me. Yeah, he ruins everything.
- 10:29Speaker 1: He took the missy misdemeanors. And let me just play
- 10:32Speaker 1: a little bit of of his Broadway aification of missy
- 10:35Speaker 1: misdemeanor Gabe Gibbs on Instagram. Is it worth it?
- 10:52Speaker 5: Let me work here? Donald did put my thing and
- 11:04Speaker 5: flipping reverse.
- 11:08Speaker 3: He can sing.
- 11:11Speaker 5: If you got a big.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Let me search Chuck.
- 11:19Speaker 5: And find out how hard I gotta work out.
- 11:26Speaker 1: All right, I'll stop it. That'sh it's hilarious to me.
- 11:28Speaker 1: That's good. He does that for all sorts of He
- 11:32Speaker 1: did one for Cisco's Thong song Wrong. I could sing
- 11:37Speaker 1: like that, Donald, in my mind, I sing like that.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Who was that singing Gabe Gibbs on Instagram? I'm giving
- 11:43Speaker 1: him movie Gabe Gibbs. He's a comedian Broadway type singer
- 11:47Speaker 1: who does spoofs of songs like that.
- 11:51Speaker 4: I'm just asking because in a couple of hours We're
- 11:53Speaker 4: not going to be able to promote Gabe Gibbs.
- 11:55Speaker 1: We can. I don't think he's doing a sag and
- 11:57Speaker 1: performing all right counter sit.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I'm not sure we made about a bunch of dogs and.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Nurses said he's the stories net so Yanda ra.
- 12:19Speaker 5: YadA.
- 12:26Speaker 1: What a bizarre episode of Scrubs.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Donald, It's all about love, baby, It's all about the
- 12:32Speaker 3: love that everybody feels for each other.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Is that what it's about? The theme seems to be
- 12:37Speaker 1: about handholding. Interesting little tidbit from Scrubs Wiki. The interns
- 12:41Speaker 1: are not in this episode at all. They're gone. Sarah
- 12:45Speaker 1: Chalk barely in the episode. I don't know what she
- 12:47Speaker 1: had going on, but she only makes a couple of appearances.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Same with kel So only does a couple of little
- 12:51Speaker 1: drive buys.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Maybe Sarah was doing Firefly Lane at the time.
- 12:55Speaker 1: No, Donald, this was a very long time ago. She
- 12:59Speaker 1: was not doing Firefly Lane.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Do you know what my son said to me today?
- 13:04Speaker 1: What did your son say to you today? Donald?
- 13:06Speaker 4: He was like, why does Zach have a beard? And
- 13:08Speaker 4: I was like, oh, you know, this was season eight.
- 13:12Speaker 4: He was trying to switch it up. He said, you
- 13:15Speaker 4: know what, Zach looks older than with that beard than
- 13:18Speaker 4: he does now.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Ohne him. I like that, Thank you, Rockover. I could
- 13:23Speaker 1: tell you my beard does not look brown anymore. So
- 13:26Speaker 1: I don't really grow it out too much because I
- 13:28Speaker 1: have so much gray hair in it. It makes me
- 13:30Speaker 1: feel self conscious about it. Yeah, go ahead.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Your beard looked a little dyed back then too, though
- 13:36Speaker 4: it wasn't.
- 13:37Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I swear to god, it was perfectly beautifully brown.
- 13:41Speaker 3: You had a brown beard, Broro.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I had a brown beard. Look at Daniel's beard. You
- 13:45Speaker 1: see that glorious reddish beard.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's reddish. Though Daniel got the reddish. I can't.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I can't. You don't even you barely have any gray
- 13:51Speaker 1: in your beard.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Oh, it's all gray.
- 13:54Speaker 5: So much.
- 13:55Speaker 3: No, you know what it is.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You've got a couple of Cliff Claven patches. Don't get me.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Well, you know, we can't uh, we can't al there
- 14:04Speaker 4: be that's the coolest Cliff clayven there.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But you all have to remember that's a deep cut.
- 14:10Speaker 1: For those of you who don't remember, there was a
- 14:11Speaker 1: Cheers episode where they had a beard growing contest and
- 14:14Speaker 1: Cliff Clips was very patchy.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Cliff Claven in Star Wars Empire strikes back.
- 14:22Speaker 1: M M all right. So we learned right off the
- 14:26Speaker 1: bat that Zeltzer has a webcam in his home and
- 14:31Speaker 1: he watches his wife do the dishes.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Right, and so he shows Cox his wife and Cox
- 14:38Speaker 4: is like, oh my god, who are those two naked people?
- 14:40Speaker 1: Right? And which Seltzer says, that's mister and missus dish.
- 14:46Speaker 1: He's she's doing the dishes. So there's a lot of
- 14:49Speaker 1: freaky sex stuff going on over at Zeltzer's house. You know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: when Zeltzer appears, there's gonna be some some twisted sex humor.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Really should say the brilliant Bob cl Denon always funny.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Always Now can that be construed as cooking?
- 15:05Speaker 1: I don't know. Joel isn't cooking when you're forced to
- 15:09Speaker 1: watch your partner engage in.
- 15:12Speaker 3: So cooking is when you're forced to watch it.
- 15:15Speaker 6: I'm not sure the specific it feels like it would
- 15:19Speaker 6: be in the ballpark, not part of this community.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So I don't know a hundred but maybe you could
- 15:23Speaker 1: look it up first, Joelle. If you don't mind messing
- 15:25Speaker 1: up your.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Don't you do it?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Computer? Don't you do it?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Your phone, don't you do it.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I think that Zeltzer probably is into being a cook
- 15:37Speaker 1: because he's at work watching his wife bang a couple.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I don't know much about cooking, but I feel like
- 15:44Speaker 1: that's in the ballpark, Joel.
- 15:45Speaker 3: I don't.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I don't know much about Daniel knows. At the risk
- 15:50Speaker 1: of at the risk.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Of sound falling into this category. Yeah, cooking is usually
- 15:56Speaker 8: something that you're into.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you're into your your your into watching your into watch.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Is there is there a reverse cooking where like the
- 16:05Speaker 4: wife is into watching the man.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I'm sure, yeah, yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 8: And sometimes there's like a there's like a like a
- 16:13Speaker 8: domination part to it where the wife is like, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 8: you like me, you like watching me get fucked?
- 16:18Speaker 1: You pathetic?
- 16:19Speaker 3: Oh, Yeah.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Where they talked down to them.
- 16:23Speaker 9: Yeah where they Okay, here you are, Oh man.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I don't like I don't like that though, you.
- 16:39Speaker 1: So, Jordan. Jordan is taking advantage of all the benefits
- 16:43Speaker 1: of Cox being the chief of medicine. She's stealing food
- 16:47Speaker 1: from the cafeteria.
- 16:48Speaker 3: She's firing people.
- 16:49Speaker 1: She's firing people. She took Jack out of preschool for
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yam Kapoor, even though Kapor was several weeks.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Ago, even though you know Jack is turning out to
- 16:58Speaker 4: be a diabolical genius.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yes, Jack is running wild in the hospital.
- 17:05Speaker 3: He's running his mother too. He checks his mother consistently
- 17:09Speaker 3: to get out of school, in which he pronounces he
- 17:12Speaker 3: hates at what does he He can't he can barely
- 17:15Speaker 3: put sentences together.
- 17:16Speaker 1: A thing probol. I have a little thing on Jack
- 17:19Speaker 1: Cox from Scrubs, Wickie. Jack Cox is confirmed to me
- 17:22Speaker 1: four years old in this episode. However, the episode depicting
- 17:25Speaker 1: his birth my Comra aired six years before this episode.
- 17:29Speaker 1: This can be explained in the following reasons. All of
- 17:31Speaker 1: season six took place in less than nine months, not
- 17:34Speaker 1: a full year, as the first five seasons were. Also,
- 17:36Speaker 1: Season seven did not show a depiction of a full
- 17:39Speaker 1: year passing. Doctor Cox forgot how old his son is,
- 17:42Speaker 1: and Jack is very close to his fifth birthday, so
- 17:45Speaker 1: scrubs WICKI helps rationalize that Jack may indeed before Way
- 17:49Speaker 1: to Go, Trevor, Yeah, Trevor, someone spent a lot of
- 17:52Speaker 1: work on that. That was a deep cut. Very good,
- 17:55Speaker 1: but may mean the kid hates school.
- 17:58Speaker 3: But I don't.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Understand how you can hate daycare, like that's all it is.
- 18:01Speaker 4: He's going to daycare if he's four years.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Old, he'd much rather run around the hospital and funck
- 18:05Speaker 1: shut up.
- 18:06Speaker 3: I guess that's what it is.
- 18:08Speaker 1: The janitor has blood on his face from shaving, but
- 18:10Speaker 1: he makes it clear that it's not from his blood.
- 18:14Speaker 3: So who was he shaving.
- 18:16Speaker 1: He was shaving someone else and that person bled and
- 18:22Speaker 1: that person's blood is on his face.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Neil has a very big part in this episode.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Oh they're so cute. Oh wow, they're very cute.
- 18:33Speaker 1: He and Lady.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah, oh wow, Way to Go, a lot of people
- 18:40Speaker 4: don't know this, but that's Mark Stegman's wife, Kit Panjetty.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yes, Kit Pongetti, who plays Lady She.
- 18:49Speaker 3: And Stegman, who is one of our writers from the beginning.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Yes, he was at the top.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and she came aboard on the show. And that's
- 19:01Speaker 4: I mean, it's just pretty awesome. Like we at this point,
- 19:03Speaker 4: we have a lot of family members like Ted and
- 19:05Speaker 4: Anna are married.
- 19:06Speaker 3: At this point, you have.
- 19:08Speaker 1: To explain who those people are. Daniel Donald, It's Donald.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Right, it is Donald, Zach Zach I'm correct, right.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, zachar reed, but a nickname of Zach ahead.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Okay, I'm just talking about our cast and crew, Like
- 19:21Speaker 4: we've all at this point, all of us, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 4: have gone through some type of real relationship or real breakup.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Like at this point, I've been divorced, I dated somebody,
- 19:32Speaker 4: and then now I'm at this point, I'm dating Casey as.
- 19:36Speaker 3: We're doing this. You know, Zach, you went through a
- 19:41Speaker 3: couple of relationships while we did this show as well.
- 19:44Speaker 3: But then there were cast there were crew members like
- 19:47Speaker 3: Ted and Anna. Anna was in sound. I think Ted
- 19:51Speaker 3: is he was a grip. He was a grip. They
- 19:54Speaker 3: they wound up getting married. You were a part of
- 19:57Speaker 3: their engagement. We were all a part of their a
- 20:00Speaker 3: whole video. We surprised them. The engagement was made to
- 20:04Speaker 3: seem like it was a scene. We were shooting, but
- 20:06Speaker 3: it was all an elaborate ploy so he could propose
- 20:09Speaker 3: to the love of his life.
- 20:11Speaker 4: But this is eight years in on a show. And
- 20:15Speaker 4: this is also you know, almost twenty years ago too.
- 20:19Speaker 4: You know, laws were different and everything, so it wasn't
- 20:23Speaker 4: a big deal to marry somebody that you were working
- 20:26Speaker 4: with or date somebody that.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I think you're still allowed to legally marry someone that
- 20:29Speaker 1: you work with. Donald you well, there's a lot of
- 20:32Speaker 1: the one has to abide by some HR protocols. These days,
- 20:37Speaker 1: you start allowed to fall in love.
- 20:39Speaker 4: My point is is that you know, we were a
- 20:41Speaker 4: real family at at this point. We were this and
- 20:45Speaker 4: and it was coming to an inn and we all
- 20:47Speaker 4: knew it was coming to an end. And so all
- 20:49Speaker 4: of these relationships when you watch it right now, when
- 20:52Speaker 4: you watch when you watch Cox and Jordan, it's it's
- 20:55Speaker 4: been so seasoned and it's so it runs so well
- 20:59Speaker 4: that you know, everybody's relationship in this thing is cute.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Everybody has a really good like you could you you
- 21:06Speaker 4: you all at all of it so much so that
- 21:10Speaker 4: JD and Elliott's relationship nobody really cares about, you know
- 21:13Speaker 4: what I mean, It's just what.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I make a joke about that, because the JD and
- 21:18Speaker 1: uh and and Elliott thing has been so beaten to
- 21:22Speaker 1: death that Bill is obviously making fun of it because
- 21:26Speaker 1: they want attention for their relationship and everyone's like, we
- 21:28Speaker 1: don't care. It's kind of like the audience having a
- 21:31Speaker 1: voice being like, please, we're so exhausted by hearing about
- 21:35Speaker 1: your on again, off again relationship. That's really the only
- 21:38Speaker 1: moment Sarah has in the whole show is being like,
- 21:40Speaker 1: no one cares about our relationship anymore. It's like, we
- 21:42Speaker 1: don't care. There's been too much of it. So I
- 21:45Speaker 1: think Bill's sort of making fun of of the on again,
- 21:48Speaker 1: off again UH stuff.
- 21:51Speaker 3: But in all of it, everybody's so cute. But you
- 21:54Speaker 3: know who takes the cake? Oh turkey, Carla.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I mean, are you biased in that account?
- 22:00Speaker 3: I am not. I don't think. I don't think.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Joel, just facts.
- 22:06Speaker 3: It's just it's just what it is, dude.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Like, that's funny when you go I have to go
- 22:09Speaker 1: check with my boss, and you run and make it
- 22:12Speaker 1: look like you're running to Cox, but then you run
- 22:13Speaker 1: to Carla.
- 22:15Speaker 3: That's real life, man. That's how many and Casey are.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Casey is your boss. Are you afraid of her?
- 22:20Speaker 4: I'm afraid of what she'll do to me. I'm not
- 22:22Speaker 4: necessarily afraid of her. I'm afraid of what she can do.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But do you ever about to make a decision and
- 22:28Speaker 1: you're like, I'm gonna get in trouble with my wife
- 22:30Speaker 1: if I make this decision.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Yes, I am consistently saying to I say this in
- 22:37Speaker 4: professional situations, like people will be like, do you think
- 22:39Speaker 4: you're free to do this? To do this project in
- 22:42Speaker 4: a couple of weeks, you know what. I need to
- 22:44Speaker 4: talk to my wife about that first. But yeah, I
- 22:48Speaker 4: think maybe. But I got to talk to her first
- 22:50Speaker 4: because if she's like, no, you're not free, guess who's
- 22:53Speaker 4: not free.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Let's take a break.
- 22:56Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Now I
- 23:05Speaker 1: have to confess you about this Sports Center thing. This
- 23:07Speaker 1: is a true story. I had never heard this melody before,
- 23:12Speaker 1: so this is real life, okay. JD joins Turk watching
- 23:17Speaker 1: Sports Center. Turk says that he's watched it every day
- 23:20Speaker 1: since he was ten years old, and JD says, so
- 23:23Speaker 1: they just sit there and talk about sports, and Carla
- 23:30Speaker 1: cackles because JD's a girl. Yeah, and then JD says,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you's a dirty whore, which is pretty coming in here.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Then okay, so but we should set it up though.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Turk is complaining that he's surrounded by women. First, is
- 23:47Speaker 4: he the new baby on the way, Carla, he's surrounded
- 23:51Speaker 4: by women? Elliott always surrounded by women, And she goes, no,
- 23:56Speaker 4: you're not. He goes, I'm surrounded by women. She goes,
- 23:58Speaker 4: I guess. And then you walk in and you're like, hey,
- 24:02Speaker 4: she gets the joke also, right, And from that moment on,
- 24:05Speaker 4: everything JD says sounds like he's one of the women
- 24:10Speaker 4: in church life.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Right, And so he doesn't like that, and he calls
- 24:14Speaker 1: her a dirty wore, and Turk says dude, and he goes, sorry,
- 24:17Speaker 1: not dirty, and he goes, dude, sorry, not a whore. No, no, no, no,
- 24:26Speaker 1: never heard it in my life before making this joke.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So I am a messod actor and Bill. Bill found
- 24:35Speaker 1: great glee in the fact that I had never heard
- 24:37Speaker 1: this melody before. Do you watch ESPN every day?
- 24:41Speaker 3: Donald, that's how you get your sports knowledge? Of course?
- 24:43Speaker 1: Do you watch it every day?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Yeah? I do watch it every day.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yes, I saw a bit of sports things that happened.
- 24:50Speaker 1: It made it to my radar because it was such
- 24:52Speaker 1: a major sports thing. This incredible baseball player stole second, third,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and home in three pitches. Wow, you didn't know that,
- 25:02Speaker 1: did you?
- 25:03Speaker 3: I missed that one.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Did you know that, Daniel? I did not? Actually, how
- 25:07Speaker 1: do I know a major sports Yeah?
- 25:08Speaker 2: This is not making sense.
- 25:10Speaker 6: How because I would never watch baseball literally ever. But
- 25:12Speaker 6: I came up on my threads feed the other day
- 25:14Speaker 6: and I.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Am, oh, so Joelle's dropping Threads feed like she's an
- 25:18Speaker 1: early adopter.
- 25:19Speaker 2: We're promoting a movie.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Of course.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I was like, a new application move.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Also, it tracks all of your followers and I get
- 25:25Speaker 6: to keep my check mark.
- 25:27Speaker 3: What do you mean it tracks all of your phone? Sorry?
- 25:32Speaker 1: Threads is the new Twitter.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Please explain this to me, because I've heard of this ship.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But I got a freeze, I got a few I
- 25:39Speaker 1: got Mark Zuckerberg sees that Elon is on the ropes
- 25:45Speaker 1: has become a cesspool, and he's like, I got something
- 25:47Speaker 1: for you. It's Twitter, but it's on Instagram and it's
- 25:51Speaker 1: called threads. Wait, and it becomes the most signed up
- 25:55Speaker 1: for app in the history of apps overnight, and now
- 25:58Speaker 1: it's I assume extraordinarily popular. And Joelle is dropping it
- 26:02Speaker 1: like everybody knows it.
- 26:03Speaker 6: One hundred million people are already on it. And the
- 26:06Speaker 6: brilliant thing they did is like, so Twitter removed the
- 26:09Speaker 6: check mark, which means you don't know who you're following.
- 26:11Speaker 2: It's not veryfied. It's also totally screwed up the.
- 26:15Speaker 6: Like commenting, so when you go to read the comments,
- 26:17Speaker 6: it's whoever has paid, which makes them abysmal. You just
- 26:20Speaker 6: don't want to read them, which reduces the time you're
- 26:23Speaker 6: on Twitter. So now Twitter's dead. So Instagram was like, well,
- 26:26Speaker 6: what if you could keep your entire Instagram following. Everyone
- 26:29Speaker 6: you follow will automatically get uploaded into your new account,
- 26:33Speaker 6: and anyone who follows you, if they sign up, will
- 26:35Speaker 6: automatically just get like pinged, Like hey, you can just
- 26:38Speaker 6: follow these people that you already know. Plus you can
- 26:41Speaker 6: keep your verification if you're verified on there, so people
- 26:44Speaker 6: can trust that it's actually you posting. And it runs
- 26:47Speaker 6: just like old Twitter. It's like it's like we're on
- 26:49Speaker 6: Twitter from three years ago. It's very bizarre.
- 26:52Speaker 1: From Okay, I have a question first, I go, first,
- 26:55Speaker 1: go go go. What prevents it from becoming a cess
- 26:59Speaker 1: pool of hate liking on Musk's Twitter nothing.
- 27:02Speaker 6: Well, yeah, that's hard. I mean, truly, it's no. Don't
- 27:05Speaker 6: be sorry, because you're right, it's it's right now. We're
- 27:08Speaker 6: sort of living in a very nice space. So far,
- 27:10Speaker 6: it's been a very nice experience. Instagram does have some rules.
- 27:14Speaker 1: You remember after nine to eleven in New York, nobody
- 27:17Speaker 1: was honking for like a month.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Yes I was there, but I had heard.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody honked for like a month. Everyone was kind.
- 27:24Speaker 1: That sounds like threads, Yeah, this kind of word, and
- 27:27Speaker 1: people are like, oh, it's nice.
- 27:28Speaker 6: We found a home and I know who these people are,
- 27:30Speaker 6: and so that's comforting. I will say that Instagram does
- 27:33Speaker 6: have rules that Twitter has definitely abolished in the last
- 27:36Speaker 6: so like you can't pose nudes, you can't.
- 27:40Speaker 3: So like, I don't know how long this is gonna last.
- 27:45Speaker 6: It's a little more family friendly. They're very like intense
- 27:48Speaker 6: on like hate speech. So if they keep the rules
- 27:50Speaker 6: and their moderators are there, then even if they might
- 27:53Speaker 6: fare better longer than Twitter did, but we'll see.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Is it true that if you sign up for threads
- 27:59Speaker 4: and you decide, you know what, I don't want it anymore,
- 28:02Speaker 4: you lose your Instagram account.
- 28:03Speaker 2: That is correct.
- 28:04Speaker 6: It is connected to your Instagram. So if you delete
- 28:07Speaker 6: your Threads, you also delete your Instagram. So really be
- 28:10Speaker 6: very careful before you sign up, because.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I create can you create a threads and Instagram burner account,
- 28:18Speaker 4: but then you don't get the followers.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Don't get the followers.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna wait and see. I'm gonna take a
- 28:24Speaker 1: wait and see you approach because I'm trying to get
- 28:26Speaker 1: off all of these things. I don't want to add another.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I got off Twitter. I just twisted not healthy, and
- 28:32Speaker 1: I was using it to promote a good person, and
- 28:34Speaker 1: I once, once my promotion for that was done, I
- 28:37Speaker 1: just took it off my phone. I do not find
- 28:40Speaker 1: it a healthy place to be. I like Instagram still
- 28:43Speaker 1: because it feels pretty friendly.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Naw, that's just starting to get crazy too, though. Man.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Instagram, Look, man, all you gotta do is look at
- 28:50Speaker 4: one freaking girl in a bikini one time on Instagram
- 28:55Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, your fucking shit is flooded.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It tells me you didn't look at one girl in
- 29:00Speaker 1: a bikini.
- 29:00Speaker 3: All I know is Casey walks by and she's like,
- 29:03Speaker 3: what are you looking at? And I'm like Joe, I
- 29:04Speaker 3: can't get this shit.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah right, But Casey's not an idiot. She knows
- 29:08Speaker 1: that means you looked at ten girls in bikinis.
- 29:10Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, just one, just one.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It does overwhelm you. Like like, I've been looking at
- 29:15Speaker 1: boats lately just because it's summer and I love boats.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I love looking at big boats, and I just think
- 29:19Speaker 1: they're so cool. And I've clicked on, like I probably
- 29:21Speaker 1: clicked on maybe ten big ass yachts just to be like,
- 29:24Speaker 1: check them out because I just think they're so rad.
- 29:26Speaker 1: My feed is ninety nine percent big gas yachts, and
- 29:30Speaker 1: I want to tell it like, guys, I'm kind of
- 29:32Speaker 1: interested in it. I'm not one hundred percent like it
- 29:36Speaker 1: overwhelms you.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it gets you.
- 29:40Speaker 1: But in your case, it's women in bikinis. It's like,
- 29:43Speaker 1: does your wife get mad when she looks at you
- 29:46Speaker 1: and she sees that your whole feed is women in bikinis?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Is she like what the fuck?
- 29:51Speaker 5: No?
- 29:51Speaker 3: Man, my wife.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Look, man, you saw this whole thing that happened this
- 29:55Speaker 4: weekend with Usher and Kiki Palmer and all of that stuff.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I didn't really follow it. I didn't really follow it.
- 29:59Speaker 4: But you know what I mean, Like, in all honesty,
- 30:04Speaker 4: she was out having fun, and it's none of my
- 30:06Speaker 4: business to be honest with you. So I really don't
- 30:08Speaker 4: know how to comment on it. But apparently her husband
- 30:11Speaker 4: or her baby daddy got a little jealous of the
- 30:14Speaker 4: fact that she was out dancing on Usher.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Girlfriend dancing on Usher.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I don't, I don't. I don't listen. As long as
- 30:24Speaker 3: she listened, as long as that's all that they're doing,
- 30:26Speaker 3: and she's out having fun.
- 30:27Speaker 1: With her friends.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Usher, with your girl, Usher, you you're absolutely right. And
- 30:33Speaker 3: if and if she and if she was and if
- 30:35Speaker 3: she is that easily ready to leave with Usher, congratulations Usher,
- 30:40Speaker 3: you gave her back to the city. You gave her
- 30:42Speaker 3: back to the streets. Baby, way to go, baby. Like one.
- 30:47Speaker 6: Man said that, uh, Usher is an ally in that
- 30:51Speaker 6: U should just getting your girl ready to come back home.
- 30:53Speaker 1: To you, to you, she's coming home with it.
- 30:56Speaker 3: I can't damn.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Ushers getting ready. I don't believe in that ship.
- 31:08Speaker 8: I'm only going to say is if an artist makes
- 31:11Speaker 8: sexy music, are they supposed to not perform it sexy?
- 31:15Speaker 1: There's no standing up there and be like.
- 31:16Speaker 4: I don't think dude was married. I don't think dude
- 31:19Speaker 4: was married at Usher. I think dude was married at
- 31:21Speaker 4: his at his of course, but like, but in my opinion,
- 31:26Speaker 4: she looked like she was having a good time. That
- 31:28Speaker 4: didn't look like there was anything crazy going on.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Was I only saw a snippet of it. Wasn't he
- 31:34Speaker 1: mad though? That her outfit was se through his part
- 31:36Speaker 1: of it? Yeah, that's up, which is also I.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Don't give a ship about that, either man or wife
- 31:41Speaker 3: becoming Yeah, man, come on in.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Your lys see through body suit grinding on usher.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Oh gosh, that would be I would have a moment
- 31:52Speaker 3: of my big hundred would I would have a moment
- 31:55Speaker 3: of am I being cooked? It would be aler moment.
- 31:58Speaker 6: He didn't grind she like he's tirl. She did a
- 32:01Speaker 6: little twirl.
- 32:01Speaker 3: She Ye, it wasn't like it wasn't like I'm not
- 32:05Speaker 3: about to say it wasn't like she was all up
- 32:07Speaker 3: on his deck, like just fucking grinding, Like, look at
- 32:10Speaker 3: a different that's different.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I didn't watch the video. I don't know what happened.
- 32:15Speaker 1: It's very tame.
- 32:17Speaker 2: To a giant audience.
- 32:18Speaker 6: He comes down to Kiki, he grabs her hand, They
- 32:20Speaker 6: do a little two step. He twirls her she giggles
- 32:23Speaker 6: with her friends, and then he moves on.
- 32:26Speaker 4: She knows she gets a chance to sing and everything
- 32:28Speaker 4: like that too, like she she takes the moment. Well, no,
- 32:32Speaker 4: it's because look, Kiki Palm is one of the most
- 32:35Speaker 4: freak extented people on the planet.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Exactly. Let's just be honest. Let's just let's just keep
- 32:39Speaker 3: it one hundred right now. You want to get it.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know we were keeping it one hundred.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Let me, let's just keep it one.
- 32:45Speaker 4: You want to talk about one of the most talented
- 32:47Speaker 4: people on the planet right now, Kiki Palmer is one
- 32:49Speaker 4: of them, you know what I mean. And so I
- 32:52Speaker 4: should put the microphone in front of her face and
- 32:54Speaker 4: dared her to sing, and guess what, Being one of
- 32:58Speaker 4: the most talented people on the planet it, she was
- 33:00Speaker 4: able to do that shit effortlessly and so like she
- 33:03Speaker 4: took the moment and shined like one hundred percent with it.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Whereas you know me, and now, if I were watching
- 33:11Speaker 4: that ship, I'd be like, go on, girl, But that's
- 33:13Speaker 4: just me, you know what I mean. And I know
- 33:15Speaker 4: it's coming home later and I know that that's it's
- 33:17Speaker 4: gonna be nasty too.
- 33:18Speaker 1: You know what I mean, Hey on that. No, we're
- 33:20Speaker 1: gonna take a quick break and we will be right
- 33:22Speaker 1: back with more of the program you enjoy so much
- 33:24Speaker 1: called fake doctors, real friends, eat these balls and we're
- 33:38Speaker 1: we're okay. So sports Center the place for sports.
- 33:43Speaker 3: And Center the place for sports, and.
- 33:45Speaker 1: We actually got the Sports Center anchors. I understand. Those
- 33:48Speaker 1: are the real people at the time to say that.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Hannah's still there.
- 33:52Speaker 1: The worst athlete in the world is JD. And then
- 33:55Speaker 1: we cut the JD. He's got a natural Runner T shirt,
- 33:58Speaker 1: holding a tennis racket, a baseball glove and has a
- 34:01Speaker 1: football helmet on and is hitting himself with the helmet
- 34:04Speaker 1: and says, I like wearing a helmet because I did.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I can do this and it only hurts a little bit. Yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 1: it's JD's sports moment.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Good, that's not even a sports moment.
- 34:15Speaker 1: That's just like I've seen that as a meme a lot. Yeah,
- 34:18Speaker 1: people like that, what.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Like, I mean, let's keep it. Come on, man, Like
- 34:27Speaker 4: you had a help, you had a helmet on, he
- 34:29Speaker 4: had a tank tap.
- 34:30Speaker 1: On, wasn't a seven top T shirt?
- 34:32Speaker 3: Did you have one glasses? No, you didn't have protective glasses.
- 34:36Speaker 1: On. No, you're saying we could have done more.
- 34:39Speaker 3: I'm saying we could have gone a lot further. We
- 34:44Speaker 3: could have I mean it was funny. Yeah, at the time,
- 34:48Speaker 3: I remember laughing, really.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Really really think you were there when we shot it.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I remember laughing for some reason.
- 34:53Speaker 1: We were hanging out. Yeah, this part is very funny.
- 34:57Speaker 1: When JD goes to watch Churk dough surgery through the
- 34:59Speaker 1: glass and I remember, I improv this, this whole dough
- 35:03Speaker 1: a deer thing. It's it's a deer. I go, no, no,
- 35:06Speaker 1: it's dough. It's a deep dough. You know, do it's
- 35:08Speaker 1: a deer?
- 35:09Speaker 6: No?
- 35:09Speaker 1: No, no, no, no no, because JD can. JD can
- 35:12Speaker 1: relate to it through the sound of music.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I love.
- 35:19Speaker 1: That's the only way that the way that JD finds
- 35:21Speaker 1: his key is that, no, it's dough. It's a deer,
- 35:24Speaker 1: a deer, dough a deer.
- 35:28Speaker 4: You know, my kids are asking about that movie recently,
- 35:32Speaker 4: and I'm really excited for them to watch it.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Sound of music.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm really excited for them to watch it.
- 35:41Speaker 4: You know, that's one of the as a kid, do
- 35:45Speaker 4: a Deer is That's one of the dopest songs ever,
- 35:48Speaker 4: and then so long farewell and then rain drops on
- 35:54Speaker 4: roses and whiskers on kitten, right, babe, like they just
- 35:58Speaker 4: got some bops in that movie Paper. These are a
- 36:04Speaker 4: few of my favorite.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Must be careful because those Nazis come out of nowhere
- 36:08Speaker 1: in that movie. You're like nazis. We were singing about
- 36:15Speaker 1: a dough a deer.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Right, and then all of a sudden they got to escape.
- 36:20Speaker 1: You might you might want to show the kids the
- 36:22Speaker 1: first part.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Oh, that's what I did this weekend?
- 36:26Speaker 1: What did you do?
- 36:26Speaker 3: This was a mistake, and it wasn't a big mistake.
- 36:29Speaker 3: It was actually a first of all, I showed the
- 36:35Speaker 3: kids Forrest Gump. Oh my god, that Forrest Gump.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Why is it bad?
- 36:45Speaker 3: I don't recall this movie being so sad. Oh yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 3: I recall it.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I thought it was like I remember Forrest Gump being
- 36:52Speaker 4: uplifting movie about a dude with special needs who's extremely
- 36:57Speaker 4: lucky and smarter than you know you give him credit for,
- 37:02Speaker 4: and you know, has one of the best lines ever,
- 37:04Speaker 4: stupid is as stupid?
- 37:05Speaker 3: Does you know what I mean? That movie? Everybody in
- 37:10Speaker 3: his life dies, yeah, pretty much everybody for him to
- 37:15Speaker 3: learn all of these great lessons and everything like that.
- 37:18Speaker 3: He has to lose everyone.
- 37:21Speaker 1: So were your kids traumatized by that?
- 37:23Speaker 4: Myke's son couldn't go to bed last night talking two
- 37:27Speaker 4: nights ago, talking about I don't want you guys to die.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Oh.
- 37:30Speaker 3: I was like, oh shit, that's what for. That's what
- 37:33Speaker 3: PG thirteen means, right, Yeah, that's what PG thirteen.
- 37:38Speaker 1: That's what happened to me with terms of endearment. My
- 37:40Speaker 1: dad showed me Terms of Endearment about a mom saying
- 37:42Speaker 1: goodbye to her kid because she's dying of cancer. And
- 37:44Speaker 1: I was like, I was so traumatized.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what is traumatizing.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Oh my god, it's all trying. Look, dude, Rocos saw
- 37:54Speaker 4: Bubba going before it even happened.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Roco's like, oh, he was like He's like, Bubba's gonna die.
- 38:00Speaker 3: And I was like, ah yeah, he was like oh
- 38:04Speaker 3: and he starts crying. I'm like, oh shit, you know
- 38:08Speaker 3: what I mean. Right around the time Bubba's starting to
- 38:11Speaker 3: talk about you joined the you and me will create,
- 38:15Speaker 3: will be a shrimping team, and we'll be doing all
- 38:18Speaker 3: of that stuff together, Roco's like, oh shit, Bubba's gonna die.
- 38:21Speaker 6: Yeah, wait, how did you soothe them though, like because
- 38:24Speaker 6: eventually as something, he went to sleep.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Yeah, well it took quite a bit. It was like
- 38:29Speaker 4: one o'clock in the morning finally when he went to sleep.
- 38:31Speaker 4: But it was a lot of cuddling and a lot
- 38:33Speaker 4: of a lot of you know, trying to explain that
- 38:36Speaker 4: death is a part of life, and you know, it's
- 38:39Speaker 4: very difficult.
- 38:40Speaker 3: You know, he's nine years old, and we showed him
- 38:41Speaker 3: something that was maybe a little bit too. This was
- 38:44Speaker 3: the lesson for us as parents too.
- 38:46Speaker 4: You know, sometimes that PG thirteen warning isn't the you know,
- 38:51Speaker 4: I look at PG. Thirteen and I'm thinking violentce. I'm thinking,
- 38:54Speaker 4: you know, okay, something's gonna transform in. Maybe it's gonna
- 38:57Speaker 4: maybe they'll say fuck one time or something like that.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I wasn't expecting. I so halfway through it, I'm like,
- 39:05Speaker 4: oh my god, this movie. I'm crying in the movie.
- 39:08Speaker 4: And I remember watching the movie and being like, look
- 39:10Speaker 4: how great this is shot.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Look at the you know what I mean, back in
- 39:13Speaker 3: the day thinking about it as a from a from
- 39:16Speaker 3: a from an artistic you know, with Roco. I'm looking
- 39:21Speaker 3: at now, I'm looking at it like, oh no, these
- 39:23Speaker 3: events are about to happen, and I have to be
- 39:25Speaker 3: ready to explain it, and it was difficult.
- 39:30Speaker 1: It was very a good lessons, good lesson to parents
- 39:33Speaker 1: to remember why there's a PG. Thirteen there, because because
- 39:37Speaker 1: he was probably too young to be seen.
- 39:38Speaker 4: He was way too young to be watching it, and
- 39:41Speaker 4: I didn't I and I looked at it as oh,
- 39:43Speaker 4: it's PG thirteen.
- 39:44Speaker 3: It's not a problem thinking the war would be. The
- 39:48Speaker 3: war would be, you know, Vietnam is all I gotta
- 39:50Speaker 3: worry about.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Right, Yeah? And it doesn't doesn't. The girlfriend die of AIDS?
- 39:54Speaker 3: Yeah, she dies of AIDS.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Yeah, dude, this is how old Forrest Gump is. Genny
- 39:59Speaker 4: dies from AIDS. This is how old Forest Gump is,
- 40:04Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I thought she was the most beautiful woman i'd ever seen, Jenny.
- 40:09Speaker 3: What so did Forrest? She had the voice of an angel.
- 40:15Speaker 3: You can say if you.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Want, Oh that was so crazy. You were so stoic
- 40:20Speaker 1: for a second.
- 40:22Speaker 3: He's remembering the movie.
- 40:23Speaker 1: That's why I remembering the movie and my feelings about Robin, right, Penn, Yes,
- 40:28Speaker 1: all right.
- 40:29Speaker 4: First's that's another thing. First time I ever saw her
- 40:32Speaker 4: in the Princess Bride?
- 40:33Speaker 3: Who is that? I want to know more, who is she?
- 40:39Speaker 3: And and now she's like this bad ass, kick ass
- 40:42Speaker 3: Amazonian like freaking like you know what I mean?
- 40:47Speaker 4: You want to talk about fine wine right there? See
- 40:50Speaker 4: you know aging like fine wine. That's one right there, man,
- 40:54Speaker 4: Like for real, for real? She went from she went
- 40:57Speaker 4: from damsel into distress to freaking kick ass superhero like
- 41:02Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Like her evolution is amazing.
- 41:05Speaker 4: She's president, dude.
- 41:08Speaker 1: She went back to the TV show Scrubs. Donal you
- 41:11Speaker 1: gotta get back to this. So, so the whole thing
- 41:15Speaker 1: is Lady doesn't want to hold hands with the janitor,
- 41:17Speaker 1: and this really gives him a panic attack because he
- 41:19Speaker 1: thinks that she's gonna break up with him, because would
- 41:23Speaker 1: why would this woman who has such a crush on
- 41:26Speaker 1: and so into not want to hold his hand. Now,
- 41:29Speaker 1: Cox and Jordan spend the entire time fucking with the
- 41:32Speaker 1: janitor because they are mean and they are so happy
- 41:37Speaker 1: to get in his head saying, oh my god, you're
- 41:39Speaker 1: gonna get dumb. She doesn't want to hold your hand, Wow,
- 41:42Speaker 1: you're screwed. And they're really enjoying that, and they have
- 41:45Speaker 1: their own storyline because Jordan is livid that Cox is
- 41:50Speaker 1: wearing his wedding ring.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Which is.
- 41:55Speaker 4: You know, when we first meet them, they're divorced. I
- 41:59Speaker 4: thought they were married again. I had the I had
- 42:01Speaker 4: for some reason, I thought they had gotten married again
- 42:04Speaker 4: somewhere in this whole me too.
- 42:06Speaker 1: But they say they just they just start together without
- 42:09Speaker 1: being married, right, They never got remarried.
- 42:11Speaker 3: They never got remarried.
- 42:12Speaker 1: But he put it on because he's feeling close to
- 42:14Speaker 1: her and he loves her, and she is like, get
- 42:17Speaker 1: that off your what is wrong with you? You know,
- 42:19Speaker 1: because they have this, you know, this sort of this
- 42:21Speaker 1: this sort of mean spirited banter where they tease each other,
- 42:25Speaker 1: oh like crazy.
- 42:27Speaker 4: What it really boils down to is that Jordan loves
- 42:31Speaker 4: what's going on with them, and this is probably what
- 42:34Speaker 4: she's wanted the whole time. Why couldn't they you know,
- 42:37Speaker 4: she's probably in her mind thinking, why couldn't our marriage
- 42:39Speaker 4: have been like this? Where I get to be me,
- 42:42Speaker 4: he gets to be him, We get to do the
- 42:44Speaker 4: things that we do and enjoy each other the way
- 42:48Speaker 4: we were supposed to. And then he puts the ring
- 42:50Speaker 4: on and she's like, wait a second, dude, Now all
- 42:52Speaker 4: of this pressure is going to be back and added
- 42:55Speaker 4: on again.
- 42:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean. It's didn't work before.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Remember we did this before and didn't work, and we
- 43:00Speaker 4: hated each other for a really long time. I don't
- 43:05Speaker 4: know if this is a good idea, and he's like, well,
- 43:07Speaker 4: I feel good about it. It makes me feel wonderful, right.
- 43:12Speaker 1: She keeps telling him to take it off. She doesn't
- 43:14Speaker 1: want that fucking ring. And so there's this theme of
- 43:17Speaker 1: hands in the episode, a motif because the janitor can't
- 43:21Speaker 1: hold lady's hand, there's the ring on Cox's hand, and
- 43:24Speaker 1: Turk is in a position where he has to tell
- 43:27Speaker 1: the parents of a young man that there's a good
- 43:32Speaker 1: chance he may be paralyzed, and he doesn't know how
- 43:36Speaker 1: to do it, and JD is coaching him, saying, listen,
- 43:40Speaker 1: don't give them false hope. Okay, don't give them false hope.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Go in there. This is very hard to do. But
- 43:47Speaker 1: if you feel yourself starting to cry, think of the
- 43:50Speaker 1: gopher dancing at the end of Caddish.
- 43:56Speaker 4: We should start this off by the whole sports Center
- 43:58Speaker 4: theme is also we should have this kind of buried
- 44:02Speaker 4: the lead here. The sports center theme is because of
- 44:05Speaker 4: at the time, a kid who played football had gotten
- 44:10Speaker 4: injured in a football collision or accident or something like that,
- 44:15Speaker 4: and they use cold therapy to fuse his spine back
- 44:21Speaker 4: together or something like that.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I don't know if it's fuse's spine, but somehow some
- 44:24Speaker 1: sort of cold therapy helped him or be paralyzed.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Right, or it took the it took the inflammation down
- 44:33Speaker 4: or something like that. And so, you know, this automatically
- 44:37Speaker 4: made me think of DeMar Hamlin. Didn't make you think
- 44:39Speaker 4: of that, like right away, Like when I was watching this,
- 44:42Speaker 4: I was like, wow, the times of you know, football
- 44:44Speaker 4: is this is my I love football, but that's one
- 44:48Speaker 4: of the most dangerous things I've ever seen in my life.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Man Like, for real, for real, man Like, what is
- 44:53Speaker 3: this ten years ago?
- 44:55Speaker 4: Somebody loses you know, loses their their ability to walk
- 44:59Speaker 4: in stuff like that for a bit, and then here
- 45:02Speaker 4: we go ten fifteen years later and another freak accident
- 45:06Speaker 4: where a dude has a heart attack because he.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Was hit so hard in the chest. You know what
- 45:11Speaker 3: I mean.
- 45:12Speaker 4: It's a dangerous I love watching it, don't get it twisted.
- 45:15Speaker 4: I enjoy I enjoy it, but not my kid.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel you. I feel you. If I had
- 45:22Speaker 1: my dog will not be playing football. I I don't Billy, No,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I don't care how much she wants to. So of
- 45:31Speaker 1: course Turk fucks it up, and we see that he
- 45:34Speaker 1: starts to cry and get emotional and he and he
- 45:36Speaker 1: starts to do the Caddy Shack Gopher.
- 45:38Speaker 3: Dance right, and JS like not go yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 1: JD's like, don't do the go for dance, don't do
- 45:45Speaker 1: the gopher dance. And of course Turk does do the
- 45:47Speaker 1: gopher dance. I'm an idiot. But he ends up giving
- 45:52Speaker 1: him false hope.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Well, well, no, I don't know how false the hope is.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Turkey Turk gets an idea from a sports center and
- 45:59Speaker 1: he runs down to ask his boss, Carla, if if
- 46:03Speaker 1: he should go for it, if he should try this
- 46:06Speaker 1: experimental treatment that, you know, if it doesn't go right,
- 46:09Speaker 1: they could they could be and he could be in trouble.
- 46:11Speaker 1: They could he could be sued. And Carla says, what
- 46:14Speaker 1: would you do if it was our son? And he said,
- 46:15Speaker 1: this is what I do, And she says, well, then
- 46:17Speaker 1: do that.
- 46:19Speaker 4: That's the most realist answer ever, What would you do
- 46:20Speaker 4: if it was our kids? I'd do everything I could, right, think,
- 46:23Speaker 4: you know, I think you know what the answer is,
- 46:26Speaker 4: and he goes and doesn't. Now, this is where it
- 46:28Speaker 4: gets infity dippity. That's it's just available. This experimental therapy
- 46:34Speaker 4: is just available in Sacred Heart.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Uh that's a good point. I don't know. It comes
- 46:39Speaker 1: out of nowhere. Turk gets access to it pretty quickly.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Yeah, like it's nothing.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Now the janitor is holding hands with Todd and
- 46:47Speaker 1: Zeltzer because he wants to show them that it's not
- 46:49Speaker 1: a big deal to hold hands because he's he's in
- 46:51Speaker 1: the spiral about this handholding thing.
- 46:53Speaker 3: Those are the wrong two people to hold hands with them.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Todd calls DIBs on lady, even though he doesn't
- 46:59Speaker 1: know who she is DIBs And then Zeltzer reports that
- 47:08Speaker 1: he wanted to tell his wife that she was the one,
- 47:10Speaker 1: but at the time he had a rubber ball a
- 47:13Speaker 1: gag in his mouth.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yeah, because they were sitting they were staring at each
- 47:17Speaker 4: other in front of a.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Fire, right, and he wanted to tell her how much.
- 47:22Speaker 4: That's when he realized he was so much in love
- 47:24Speaker 4: with her, and he would have told her if he
- 47:26Speaker 4: didn't have a ball.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Dag in his mouth. Also, I forgot I skipped over
- 47:33Speaker 1: when Turk does the gopher dance. He's laughing, and he says, look,
- 47:39Speaker 1: there's a ninety percent chance that that gopher was a puppet. Yeah,
- 47:49Speaker 1: Turk thinks that there's still a ten percent chance that
- 47:51Speaker 1: that was a real gofriend.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Let's take a break.
- 47:57Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Kelso thinks
- 48:07Speaker 1: it's hilarious that the janitor is getting dumped, and and
- 48:11Speaker 1: that's the end of of the of the act. And
- 48:14Speaker 1: when we come back, someone says, I like to drive
- 48:17Speaker 1: my points home with a lie. Who's that?
- 48:20Speaker 3: Oh you say that all right?
- 48:22Speaker 1: Which is which is Bill Lawrence? By the way, Bill
- 48:25Speaker 1: Lawrence is famous for driving, He's one.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Of the best, but he's he's famous for driving his
- 48:32Speaker 3: points home with the lie. But the lie is always
- 48:34Speaker 3: so much better than what reality was at that moment.
- 48:37Speaker 1: If you know so long enough, you will hear the
- 48:39Speaker 1: evolution of a story to like to the point where
- 48:42Speaker 1: it's nowhere near what happened.
- 48:44Speaker 4: It's my favorite one, my favorite one. And we might
- 48:47Speaker 4: have to cut this. I'll ask him. We'll ask him
- 48:49Speaker 4: if we have to cut this, though, is so? His
- 48:52Speaker 4: youngest son recently got caught taking the car out right,
- 48:57Speaker 4: and Bill finally he realized, oh shit, the car's missing,
- 49:02Speaker 4: and so before he calls the cops, he calls his
- 49:05Speaker 4: son and it's like, hey, do you have the car.
- 49:08Speaker 4: He's like, you have the car and you're in on
- 49:11Speaker 4: Sunset Boulevard right now, bring the car home, and Henry goes,
- 49:16Speaker 4: hold up, I just have to pay. We just have
- 49:19Speaker 4: to finish paying for lunch.
- 49:21Speaker 1: That's the real story.
- 49:23Speaker 3: No, that's not the real story, the real story, and
- 49:26Speaker 3: so he's like, so now I have to punish Henry.
- 49:29Speaker 3: The real story is when he called Henry was up
- 49:32Speaker 3: the block with the car and was like, Okay, I'm
- 49:34Speaker 3: on my way back right now, don't be mad.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Well, all I know is that Bill's stories always get
- 49:41Speaker 1: super exaggerated. And then you know, there's the story I've
- 49:44Speaker 1: told before when on this podcast, but it's one of
- 49:47Speaker 1: my favorite Bill stories. Is when I was editing my
- 49:50Speaker 1: episode and I said to him, don't cut that joke.
- 49:53Speaker 1: That joke's so funny, and he goes, I showed that
- 49:55Speaker 1: joke to Christa and she didn't even understand what the
- 49:58Speaker 1: hell it meant. And I was like, oh, okay, I
- 50:01Speaker 1: guess all right, fine cut it. And then like a
- 50:03Speaker 1: week later, I saw Christa and I was like, you
- 50:04Speaker 1: didn't think that joke was funny? She goes, you honestly
- 50:07Speaker 1: think that. I'm home watching rough cuts of scrubbs.
- 50:14Speaker 3: He's the best at it, though.
- 50:16Speaker 7: Man.
- 50:16Speaker 3: His stories, like he like he tells stories. And you're like, man,
- 50:20Speaker 3: that's a fucking good story, dude, I gotta remember that.
- 50:22Speaker 1: And you'll even know that it's the exaggerated version. But
- 50:25Speaker 1: you're like, it's so good. I don't mind just telling it.
- 50:27Speaker 3: I don't care. I just go ahead, go ahead, okay. Oh.
- 50:30Speaker 1: The Joendre says that he never wants to have kids.
- 50:32Speaker 1: He just wants to adopt a really short old guy.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Now, let's be honest. Yes, little short old men are cute.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't want to I don't want to
- 50:43Speaker 1: have to feed one.
- 50:45Speaker 3: You don't want to have to change one's diapers when
- 50:47Speaker 3: it boils down to because that's a massive dudeo.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Right. And then an old guy walks by him and
- 50:52Speaker 1: and uh in the cafeteria and he says, you got
- 50:55Speaker 1: a daddy. He goes, you got a papa, and the
- 50:58Speaker 1: guy shakes his head. And then the janitor journals of
- 51:01Speaker 1: the group and says, just windows shop.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Window, shopping for old people. Nobody cares about JD and
- 51:08Speaker 4: Elliott dating.
- 51:09Speaker 5: Man.
- 51:09Speaker 1: No, they're over it. Everybody's over it.
- 51:11Speaker 3: And I was over it too when they would I'm
- 51:13Speaker 3: over it too, to be honest with It's sort of
- 51:15Speaker 3: like it is like Ross and Rachel Man by season eight,
- 51:18Speaker 3: I don't give a shit anymore.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Everybody's over it. By the way, A little funny thing here,
- 51:22Speaker 1: scrubs Wicki pointed out is that JD has a memory
- 51:26Speaker 1: of telling Turk about the first time he met Elliott.
- 51:29Speaker 1: And again there's all this talk about her having a
- 51:31Speaker 1: flat butt just like JD likes him and all this stuff.
- 51:34Speaker 1: But that's bullshit because we the audience witnessed the first
- 51:37Speaker 1: time Elliott was met by j D and Turk and
- 51:42Speaker 1: to go together, and there was a misspac man machine.
- 51:45Speaker 1: I don't think that's a and Turk goes, she goes, yeah,
- 51:49Speaker 1: don't do that.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I thought that. I thought that when I saw it,
- 51:53Speaker 1: and then scrubs Wiki confirmed it.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we learned that ladies germaphobe. That's why she doesn't
- 52:01Speaker 1: want to hold his hand. She finally comes clean. She's
- 52:03Speaker 1: never told anyone, but she likes the janitor so much
- 52:07Speaker 1: she wants to be seen as her true, honest self,
- 52:11Speaker 1: and so she comes clean and says, I am a germaphobe.
- 52:15Speaker 3: And he immediately judges her and calls her weird. Was
- 52:19Speaker 3: he yeah, you're weird, You're weird, and then immediate with
- 52:24Speaker 3: I like that, I like.
- 52:26Speaker 1: That, yes, And he warns her immediately that the table
- 52:29Speaker 1: she's touching is covered with germs. Probably he's the janitor
- 52:33Speaker 1: and he never cleans anything.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Never, but he doesn't want her that he's beyond weird.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Well that's why they like each other. I think they're
- 52:42Speaker 1: both weird.
- 52:43Speaker 6: I think she might be beyond weird too, because she said,
- 52:45Speaker 6: you're the spitting image of my father.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 52:48Speaker 4: My therapist says that maybe I'm attracted to you because
- 52:52Speaker 4: you're in, you know, the cleaning service, and you're a
- 52:54Speaker 4: spitting image of my dad.
- 52:55Speaker 3: But that's nothing that I mean.
- 52:56Speaker 1: That's another scribs wiki moment is that when we first
- 53:00Speaker 1: see Lady in whatever episode it is, she's holding hands
- 53:04Speaker 1: with the janitor. So that's bullshit. And then in the
- 53:12Speaker 1: end Jordan acquiesces and puts on her own wedding ring.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I cried, you cried.
- 53:19Speaker 3: I thought it was a retally beautiful that was really cute.
- 53:22Speaker 6: She's so Jordan is like so uncomfortable with being vulnerable,
- 53:26Speaker 6: which is why she's so fucking funny. Like she makes
- 53:30Speaker 6: sure nobody can get to her. She'll just destroy you first.
- 53:33Speaker 6: And I think to Donald's earlier point, like they had
- 53:35Speaker 6: all this bad stuff about their men. She's very happy
- 53:37Speaker 6: with where she's as she's at the top episode, she's
- 53:39Speaker 6: going around firing people in the name of her husband.
- 53:42Speaker 6: She's just like she's comfortable, and so this change really
- 53:45Speaker 6: scared her and she talks the whole time about how
- 53:47Speaker 6: she's just gonna like I'll just nag Perry until he
- 53:50Speaker 6: decides to take it off or whatever. But in the
- 53:52Speaker 6: end she's like she just accepts his love, and it's
- 53:54Speaker 6: so beautiful. She like allows herself to be vulnerable. And
- 53:57Speaker 6: I also just think it's the idea of on a
- 54:00Speaker 6: wedding ring, not as a performative actor because of what
- 54:03Speaker 6: you're supposed to do, but like this is almost their wedding,
- 54:06Speaker 6: Like it's.
- 54:07Speaker 4: It's makes me feel it made her feel good, it
- 54:10Speaker 4: made him feel good to be connected to her through
- 54:14Speaker 4: this ring, this bond.
- 54:16Speaker 3: It's not for anybody else.
- 54:18Speaker 4: I'm not putting this on to show everybody else that,
- 54:21Speaker 4: you know, he made a joke about it being to
- 54:23Speaker 4: you know, steer away cougars or whatever it was and
- 54:26Speaker 4: stuff like that, but it's really it had nothing to
- 54:28Speaker 4: do with any of that. It's just the fact when
- 54:30Speaker 4: I put this on, it makes me feel good to
- 54:33Speaker 4: know that it's connected to you in some way. And
- 54:36Speaker 4: that was pretty awesome. That was a that was a
- 54:38Speaker 4: great moment. Like the evolution of Cox and Jordan is
- 54:41Speaker 4: really good, you know, like it starts with it starts
- 54:45Speaker 4: with her sleeping with JD and then turns into like
- 54:49Speaker 4: this real, real, real, real deep relationship. Like you know,
- 54:54Speaker 4: I know a lot of people that would prefer not
- 54:56Speaker 4: to be married and not to have to have that
- 54:58Speaker 4: pressure put on them and still have children and still
- 55:01Speaker 4: do all of the things that a family would do,
- 55:03Speaker 4: but just not have that that I belonged to you,
- 55:08Speaker 4: you belonged to me, uh uh stamp on it, which
- 55:13Speaker 4: marriage does.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Well. They found a way to be with each other
- 55:16Speaker 1: and it is it is romantic in their own wacky way.
- 55:20Speaker 1: And the cold therapy seems like it helps, it doesn't.
- 55:22Speaker 1: It doesn't resolve that. It seems like it's fixed everything.
- 55:24Speaker 1: But it looks like it's it's it's uh, it's it's positive.
- 55:29Speaker 1: His fingers going back to the hand that his fingers
- 55:31Speaker 1: start to move.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Do you remember when Christopher Reib moved his finger?
- 55:35Speaker 1: No?
- 55:36Speaker 3: I do. Do you remember that, Joel?
- 55:38Speaker 2: I don't know if I was still live yet?
- 55:40Speaker 3: I remember it. You said, Joel, live yet, Joel, you
- 55:44Speaker 3: weren't alive when Christopher Reib was walking.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I don't remember him walking, to be honest.
- 55:51Speaker 6: I just I know Chris fy Rees from the Superman
- 55:55Speaker 6: movies that didn't follow like as a kid, I wasn't following.
- 55:58Speaker 8: Incident May twenty seventh, nineteen ninety five. So we were
- 56:02Speaker 8: definitely alive for sure.
- 56:05Speaker 1: But yeah, we were not paying attention at that point.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Wow, I was just out a I was out of
- 56:09Speaker 3: high school for three years.
- 56:10Speaker 4: I knew him and Dana. Actually I did a play
- 56:12Speaker 4: with Dana. I did a play with Dana called The
- 56:16Speaker 4: Prince and the Pauper, directed by Elizabeth Suados off Broadway.
- 56:20Speaker 3: Jesse L. Martin was in it. Dan Finnerty from the
- 56:24Speaker 3: Dan Band myself like and Dana Reeves was one of
- 56:31Speaker 3: the actresses in the show, and Christopher Reeve would come by,
- 56:36Speaker 3: and this was when you know, when you met me, Zach,
- 56:38Speaker 3: you know how much of a fan of Superman I was,
- 56:40Speaker 3: Like I had a tattoo.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he had a Superman tattoo that he's slowly trying
- 56:44Speaker 1: to laser off. But you haven't had a laser session
- 56:46Speaker 1: in a long time.
- 56:47Speaker 4: In a while, No, not in a while. But I
- 56:49Speaker 4: had a necklace when I was younger, like all types
- 56:51Speaker 4: of things, like I looked up to the character Superman,
- 56:54Speaker 4: and so for him to be there and watch us
- 56:56Speaker 4: rehearse and give notes to us and everything like that,
- 56:59Speaker 4: because I thought he was an amazing the actor also
- 57:00Speaker 4: not just a Superman, but like he'd done so many other.
- 57:03Speaker 1: He was an accomplished theater actor, as I recall.
- 57:06Speaker 3: But he also did some really great uh movies like
- 57:10Speaker 3: once in Once in Time I think it is with
- 57:13Speaker 3: him and and uh, I think it's Jane Seymour where
- 57:17Speaker 3: he goes back in time. Uh in a hotel. He
- 57:20Speaker 3: goes to a hotel and goes back in time. What
- 57:22Speaker 3: was it? What was the one that he did with
- 57:23Speaker 3: Michael Caine? Death Death What death Wish?
- 57:26Speaker 5: Which?
- 57:26Speaker 3: What what what not? Death Wish? Oh Man? The one
- 57:29Speaker 3: that he did with Michael Caine that was based on
- 57:31Speaker 3: a play.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I don't know, you don't know, wow, But do you
- 57:38Speaker 1: think of Christopher Reeve when you think about horseback riding?
- 57:42Speaker 1: Because I I I would like to learn how to
- 57:45Speaker 1: ride a horse. But I I have to admit that
- 57:48Speaker 1: that I always think of him. And I know I
- 57:51Speaker 1: ride a motorcycle, so that's that's even more dangerous. But
- 57:54Speaker 1: I I it always has stopped me a little bit
- 57:57Speaker 1: from from doing it.
- 57:59Speaker 3: I'm a were asking. I remember when I met William Shatner.
- 58:03Speaker 3: He was in a wheelchair and I was like, what
- 58:05Speaker 3: are you doing in a wheelchair? Bro?
- 58:07Speaker 4: And he was like, I was riding a horse and
- 58:10Speaker 4: it threw me off and I broke my legs riding
- 58:13Speaker 4: a horse. Yeah, and so now I'm in a wheelchair
- 58:17Speaker 4: and this dude's like seventy something at the time.
- 58:20Speaker 3: And I remember in my mind thinking, these are reasons
- 58:23Speaker 3: why I never took up horseback riding because of one
- 58:28Speaker 3: Christopher Reeve.
- 58:30Speaker 1: And I know, but I love horses. Every time I
- 58:32Speaker 1: see them, I think how fun it would be to
- 58:34Speaker 1: be able to ride it. Maybe if I just maybe
- 58:36Speaker 1: it's just in slowly.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I don't ski because of Sonny Bono.
- 58:39Speaker 4: You know what I mean, like word life, Like these
- 58:41Speaker 4: are real things, dude, Like this is not These are not.
- 58:46Speaker 6: Fun as hell.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Hold on, it's different though. Horseback riding on the trail
- 58:55Speaker 3: with the guide in Mexico or in Hawaii, that's something different.
- 59:00Speaker 3: Freaking jumping over.
- 59:01Speaker 2: Ship you're not talking about that.
- 59:04Speaker 3: That's what he was doing though.
- 59:05Speaker 6: Yeah, but that's what I'm saying, like just riding a horse,
- 59:08Speaker 6: you know, like I've rid out of the beach of Aruba.
- 59:10Speaker 1: That was fun.
- 59:11Speaker 2: I like the camp stuff. That's totally different.
- 59:13Speaker 4: Yeah, Like like like I don't like Zach you know
- 59:16Speaker 4: how you have your pilot's license and everything like that. Yeah,
- 59:18Speaker 4: when John Denver went down in that plane, I was like,
- 59:21Speaker 4: I'm not going to fly a plane.
- 59:22Speaker 3: I'll do it in the movies.
- 59:23Speaker 4: Like that's how I look. It wasn't a glider, it
- 59:26Speaker 4: was a plane. It was a it was a it
- 59:27Speaker 4: was a it was a.
- 59:29Speaker 1: It was experimental at least what was it? Can you
- 59:31Speaker 1: look it uptown? He didn't for what A lot of
- 59:33Speaker 1: a lot of people obviously obviously a lot of people
- 59:36Speaker 1: dyeing plane crashes. There was just one in southern California. Yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 1: how would you John would kind of craft? Did John
- 59:42Speaker 1: Denver die?
- 59:43Speaker 4: And but I've seen those planes before, I've seen I've
- 59:46Speaker 4: seen it before, though I think I've seen since then.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Yes, of course flying is dangerous, Donald, of course it is.
- 59:52Speaker 1: All of this is.
- 59:53Speaker 6: About Adrian Davis Long Easy. It's an experimental.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I knew it was an experiment to play. Not not
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: that people don't not that people don't die in regular plans,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: but for what it's worth for the story, it was
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: an experiment, experimental category amateur built Long Easy plane kit
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and five five five JD. Yeah, he like built it.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Wild.
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: The movie we're thinking of, Donald was death Trap from
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: nineteen eighty two.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Yes, very trap.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Yes, all right, let's take a break. We'll be right
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: back after these fine words, Zach. This segment of Fake
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Doctor's Real Friends is brought to you by T Mobile.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: If you need Grade five G coverage, especially when enjoying
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: your favorite podcast, check out t Mobile.
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: Okay, guys, we've got a letter from Katie m. She says, salutations,
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: Real Friends. I love the pod and have enjoyed every episode.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Thanks Katie.
- 1:00:50Speaker 6: This podcast showed me I love Broadway. Donald and Zach,
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: you have always speak and sing so lovingly at Broadway shows.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: I knew I had to give them a try. I
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: am proud of I saw Mulan Rouge twice. Kat's Wicked,
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: Hamilton Lame is sadly not with Preston and Beatlejuice. Thank
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: you for having preston On. I loved behind the scenes.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Wow, that's so cool a Broadway convert. Donald, We've done
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: our work here.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: I can't believe it. It's a lot of shows that
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: I never thought. She spent a lot of money too.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: She did spend a lot of money.
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that lady has some disposable income.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: She is out and about.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Well, that's great and I love it. Also, if you
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: want to go see Broadway and you want to save
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: some money, there's a thing in the center of Times
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Square called the t k TS Booth, And what you
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: do is you get online there and when the shows
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: haven't sold all their tickets, they give them to the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: TKTS Booth and sell them at half off. So you
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: just have to be open to seeing what's available. My
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: father used to do this all the time. We would
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: just get in line and then when you get up
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: to the front, they're like here's what we have and
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: it's half off, and then you go see whatever they
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: have and it's a it's a great way to see
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: the shows in a discounted way.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Yes, And if your city has a Broadway type space,
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: they probably have one of these two. You can go
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: to the box office of almost any musical theater and
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: if you have a student I d. They'll often give
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: you additional discounts.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: There you go and like, you know, yeah, and also
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: keep your eyes out for tours that come through because
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: if you, you know, if you live in a major city,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: odds are that a Broadway tour is going to come
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: through and you can see a lot of these shows
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: in your town.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: I'm seeing the new Betty Boop musical next week. I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: so excited.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Betty Boop.
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: Yes, we call black Betty Boop the traditional Betty Boo musical.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: I agree Betty Boop was black.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: She was.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Yeah, the original Betty Boop was black, but drawn as
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: a drawn as a white white woman.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Interested she's based off of a black performer.
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: Ah, I mean that that tracks mm hmm.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: All right, Well go check out Broadway everyone, and thanks
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: for so much for the letter. Thanks to mobile. Did
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: you know that at T Mobile you can take charge
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: of your phone upgrades with their best go five G plans.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: It's true, so why wait? Check out tmobile dot com
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: to learn more. Now back to the show. All Right,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: We Love you Donald Kuntas.
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: Album Stories That show we made about a bunch of
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: talks and nurses.
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: I said, here's the stories
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: Neat so yanda ra here YadA here spe
