- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. Ben is
- 0:08Speaker 2: not with me today, but we are catching up with
- 0:10Speaker 2: some of our favorite favorite married couples from Bachelor Nation,
- 0:14Speaker 2: and today we have Mari and Kenny.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Hello guys.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Hello.
- 0:21Speaker 2: So last time we spoke, it was soon after your
- 0:24Speaker 2: first wedding, the one. Well wait, did you have three weddings?
- 0:28Speaker 2: One televised one in Puerto Rico, which is Mara's home,
- 0:33Speaker 2: family extended home, and then you also had another more
- 0:38Speaker 2: party in Chicago which did not have a ceremony. It
- 0:41Speaker 2: was just a party, That's right.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Yeah. So well, I guess if you want to count
- 0:45Speaker 5: the courthouse, there were technically four weddings.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Wow, that is awesome. So of all the weddings, do
- 0:54Speaker 2: you guys have a favorite in mind?
- 0:58Speaker 6: Well, I mean, well, obviously the one we did at
- 1:01Speaker 6: Paradise was it was like was special.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Obviously we and we we came home and made.
- 1:07Speaker 6: That official at the courthouse because we couldn't make it
- 1:11Speaker 6: official in Mexico.
- 1:13Speaker 3: So I mean for special for family and everything was
- 1:17Speaker 3: Puerto Rico.
- 1:17Speaker 6: Obviously that was where like most of our money was
- 1:21Speaker 6: spent on was that wedding. But I love the Paradise
- 1:26Speaker 6: One just because it's where we met all that stuff.
- 1:30Speaker 2: The Paradise One interesting. I didn't think you were going
- 1:33Speaker 2: to say that. So why is that that that holds
- 1:35Speaker 2: a special place?
- 1:37Speaker 6: Well, it's I mean we met there for the first time,
- 1:40Speaker 6: we got engaged there, and I just thought it was
- 1:44Speaker 6: it was special to be able to go back and
- 1:45Speaker 6: do that, and not a lot of people get the
- 1:47Speaker 6: opportunity to do that to begin with. So it was
- 1:52Speaker 6: just I don't know, it's like out It's like our
- 1:55Speaker 6: kids can go back.
- 1:55Speaker 3: And watch that.
- 1:56Speaker 6: Yeah, who well unless they delete it by them, But
- 2:02Speaker 6: isn't that.
- 2:03Speaker 2: What's kind of stressful is that like back of the day,
- 2:05Speaker 2: we had the tape on VHS, right, and now we
- 2:09Speaker 2: have I feel like Apple is probably the most reliant
- 2:13Speaker 2: place for us to go back and watch the seasons.
- 2:16Speaker 2: They're all on there, but like now, we don't do
- 2:21Speaker 2: and I don't think that The Bachelor would give us
- 2:22Speaker 2: the tape. We'd have to really go through lots of
- 2:25Speaker 2: hoops in order to get our footage.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I think our season is also gone from Hulu too,
- 2:31Speaker 5: like season seven, isn't there anymore.
- 2:33Speaker 2: So, yeah, they switch it up.
- 2:34Speaker 5: It's crazy. Yeah, those are memories.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Mari. As far as dresses, which one was your favorite?
- 2:42Speaker 2: You had so many?
- 2:43Speaker 5: Oh gosh, yeah, you know, it's funny. People kind of
- 2:47Speaker 5: made fun of us for having so many weddings. They're like,
- 2:49Speaker 5: this is so unnecessary, Like no one does this quote
- 2:51Speaker 5: unquote in real life. And I'm like, I know plenty
- 2:54Speaker 5: of people who had several ceremonies or several parties or whatever.
- 2:57Speaker 5: But anyway, one of the reasons I'm very indecisive, like
- 3:01Speaker 5: I want to be able to wear all of the
- 3:03Speaker 5: different styles, and I feel like I pushed that, you know.
- 3:06Speaker 5: So in Puerto Rico, I had like the ball gown style,
- 3:08Speaker 5: and then for Chicago, I had like a Mermaid fitted style.
- 3:12Speaker 5: I will say I think the Mermaid for Chicago was
- 3:16Speaker 5: probably my favorite, just because it was like really sleek
- 3:19Speaker 5: and elegant. So yeah, I just it helps with my
- 3:22Speaker 5: indecision to be able to do all of the things.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I understand. I love my two wedding dresses, but man,
- 3:30Speaker 2: I think a third would have been great. That third
- 3:34Speaker 2: may have really completed it, you know, satisfied every fashion
- 3:39Speaker 2: sense that I have.
- 3:41Speaker 5: You can always do a vow renewal.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I don't know if I believe in vow renewals, because
- 3:46Speaker 2: my mom has instilled in me She's like, if you
- 3:49Speaker 2: have to renew year vows, they must have been broken
- 3:51Speaker 2: at some point.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Well, I guess I didn't think about it that way.
- 3:56Speaker 2: No, right, all right, guys, So it's been a almost
- 4:00Speaker 2: it's been a year since you've been official. What has
- 4:04Speaker 2: there been any sort of change in your relationship? Do
- 4:07Speaker 2: you feel different now that you have a piece of paper?
- 4:10Speaker 3: I don't.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Yeah, actually no, Obviously. Now when I see people, they're like, oh,
- 4:15Speaker 6: how's married life? All that nonsense, and I'm like, no,
- 4:19Speaker 6: it's the same as it was because we lived together
- 4:22Speaker 6: for like a year prior and literally, I mean I
- 4:25Speaker 6: didn't feel like anything really changed after just all the
- 4:28Speaker 6: money we spent on the wedding.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Yeah, pretty much.
- 4:34Speaker 3: But like day to day life is I mean, I
- 4:37Speaker 3: feel like it's the same.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Yeah. We've been in the same apartment since we got together,
- 4:41Speaker 5: like before getting married, So yeah, I mean, although I
- 4:43Speaker 5: do change up the dickcor in here all the time
- 4:46Speaker 5: and it might feel like a different apartment, it's the same.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Well, I feel like it was the same with us. However,
- 4:56Speaker 2: when you have kids, that's when it changes. And if
- 4:59Speaker 2: you don't live together beforehand, of course that's when it
- 5:02Speaker 2: changes as well.
- 5:03Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I mean we're we've got our dog kits
- 5:07Speaker 5: for now, but I'm sure once like a human child
- 5:11Speaker 5: or two come along, then yeah, that would definitely probably
- 5:14Speaker 5: change things up.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Is that what you want? To human children?
- 5:18Speaker 5: Two?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Human children?
- 5:23Speaker 5: You know? I go back and forth. I will say,
- 5:25Speaker 5: like I've changed my mind over the years. When I
- 5:28Speaker 5: first met Kenny, like on the beach, this was one
- 5:30Speaker 5: of my first questions to him. I was like, do
- 5:31Speaker 5: you want kids? And I told him at the time,
- 5:33Speaker 5: I think I told you I wanted like four something. Yeah,
- 5:38Speaker 5: But as time goes on and you know, you have
- 5:40Speaker 5: to like worry about, you know, how you're going to
- 5:42Speaker 5: pay for four children, especially when you live downtown in
- 5:46Speaker 5: the middle of a city, it's like, yeah, maybe maybe
- 5:49Speaker 5: we're thinking one or two?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Okay, all right? Do you plan on living in the
- 5:54Speaker 2: city for quite some time?
- 5:56Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Is there a different here?
- 6:02Speaker 3: We're for sure.
- 6:03Speaker 6: I think we're going to switch apartments in uh next
- 6:07Speaker 6: year and then do one more year in the city,
- 6:09Speaker 6: probably for sure, and then I'm not sure after that.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah, if you ask us like our biggest point of
- 6:14Speaker 5: contention in our marriage, this is probably it. I would
- 6:18Speaker 5: love to buy a house with like a lot of
- 6:20Speaker 5: space and land for the dogs. I want to get
- 6:22Speaker 5: like three or four chickens, like that's my goal. And Kenny,
- 6:27Speaker 5: if you let him, he would stay in downtown high
- 6:30Speaker 5: rise apartment for the rest of his life.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Well, it'd still be in the Chicago area.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Yeah, probably.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll definitely stay in Chicago for now until we
- 6:41Speaker 6: can leave. It's more work connection that I would have
- 6:45Speaker 6: to stay in Chicago for now.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But Ma, you're okay, you've assimilated into the Chicago life.
- 6:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so. I mean, I still don't love
- 6:55Speaker 5: the winter. I don't think that's going to change to me.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I can't even imagine, because I hate the winter. When
- 7:01Speaker 2: it's you know, thirty degrees and there gets what wind
- 7:05Speaker 2: chill like five.
- 7:07Speaker 5: Degrees, it's so bad. I will say this year has
- 7:10Speaker 5: been amazing. It was just like fifty degrees a couple
- 7:13Speaker 5: of days ago, which is kind of unheard of here,
- 7:15Speaker 5: so I can't complain too much. But yeah, it's not
- 7:19Speaker 5: it hasn't been terrible. But yeah, that's the only thing
- 7:21Speaker 5: I really don't love about Chicago.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand that. What do you guys do on
- 7:27Speaker 2: a typical weekend or a day off together?
- 7:31Speaker 6: It's it revolves around what food we're going to eat
- 7:35Speaker 6: and what movie we're going to pick on Netflix or whatnot.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Most of it, I'd say that's like ninety five percent
- 7:41Speaker 6: of the time.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 5: Yeah. Other than that, I would say, well, football season is,
- 7:47Speaker 5: you know, happening right now. So it also revolves around
- 7:50Speaker 5: like what day the Bears are playing for me, like
- 7:53Speaker 5: when the Ravens are playing, and then we'll choose like, Okay,
- 7:56Speaker 5: this is what we're going to have like during the game,
- 7:58Speaker 5: and then this is what I'm making for dinner or whatever. Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Yeah, we don't get out unless there's like an event
- 8:06Speaker 6: that we're going to go to, uh, you know, for
- 8:09Speaker 6: for something.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Yeah, we're a pretty homebody couple.
- 8:14Speaker 3: We both work all day.
- 8:15Speaker 6: You know, usually by time that's done, you know, and
- 8:19Speaker 6: it's cold out, nobody wants to go outside or anything. Yeah, dinner,
- 8:23Speaker 6: order food, and we've seen everything on Netflix.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Well, you know, keep sucking in the
- 8:31Speaker 2: Netflix because when you do have kids, you will never
- 8:35Speaker 2: be able to watch TV together again. I'm sorry, but
- 8:40Speaker 2: that's just because we have our kids on a pretty
- 8:42Speaker 2: weird schedule because I'm the one who likes to sleep
- 8:45Speaker 2: late and go to bed late. But guys, you you
- 8:50Speaker 2: Kenny are still working in you know, the band scene
- 8:54Speaker 2: night life, Mari, how does how does how is that?
- 8:57Speaker 2: How many nights a week is he?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Owt?
- 8:58Speaker 2: And do you like care?
- 9:00Speaker 5: Well, actually, he doesn't go out. He doesn't go to
- 9:03Speaker 5: a lot of the shows. Okay, I would have won
- 9:06Speaker 5: most of the time. I'll go with so it's fine.
- 9:08Speaker 5: But even if he was like, understandably, you know, that's
- 9:11Speaker 5: his job and he's been doing that for twenty plus years,
- 9:14Speaker 5: so it's like, you know, you got to do what
- 9:16Speaker 5: you got to do.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm very behind the scenes with that.
- 9:19Speaker 6: So I actually work during the day from home, like
- 9:23Speaker 6: you know, I set up the kitchen table as my
- 9:25Speaker 6: desk and it's more of a nine to five actually
- 9:28Speaker 6: type of situation.
- 9:30Speaker 2: That's nice, that's really nice. And mar are you working
- 9:43Speaker 2: mostly on influencer stuff?
- 9:45Speaker 5: No, So I actually do have a full time so
- 9:49Speaker 5: I have my own like social media consulting agency, So
- 9:51Speaker 5: I have a good.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 5: I have a few different clients that I run their
- 9:56Speaker 5: business social media pages. My biggest is a METS in
- 10:00Speaker 5: Chicago right now. They have like several locations and it's huge.
- 10:04Speaker 5: So that's actually where most of my time goes. And
- 10:06Speaker 5: that influencing is more kind of like a side gig.
- 10:10Speaker 5: But yeah, I like it that way.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Have you guys run into Pascal at all from the
- 10:14Speaker 2: Golden Bachelorette, considering that he runs some medspas in the area. No,
- 10:19Speaker 2: we haven't, but.
- 10:20Speaker 5: We were invited to a couple of watch parties with
- 10:25Speaker 5: a couple of the other because they had a few
- 10:26Speaker 5: Chicago guys.
- 10:27Speaker 2: On that site.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yes, uh, what's now? I came drown a blank.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I know, you know how sometimes when you like or
- 10:36Speaker 2: like I got to think of somebody's name, and then
- 10:37Speaker 2: it escapes you because you're stressed out about the key
- 10:40Speaker 2: mumpy name.
- 10:42Speaker 6: So when they filmed in Chicago for Jordan's hometown, I
- 10:47Speaker 6: popped in because they were like a block away, and
- 10:50Speaker 6: so I met Joan and Jordan for the first time.
- 10:54Speaker 6: But then once the show it aired, I I stay
- 10:57Speaker 6: in touch with Jordan.
- 10:58Speaker 3: We text talking in PA and whatnot.
- 11:01Speaker 6: And I feel bad because even before their season started,
- 11:03Speaker 6: I'm like, hey, you know, if you guys want to
- 11:05Speaker 6: get together and watch the show one day whatever, And
- 11:09Speaker 6: then like the whole season went by, and every week
- 11:11Speaker 6: we would talk and he'd be like, Hey, we're going
- 11:13Speaker 6: to Pascals to watch the show if you guys want
- 11:15Speaker 6: to come by, and like we always had some bullshit
- 11:18Speaker 6: going on. So I was like, so then I figured
- 11:20Speaker 6: at some point we would get together, and then that
- 11:22Speaker 6: the whole season went by and we never we never went,
- 11:25Speaker 6: we never made it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It's a short season, and I need to know how
- 11:30Speaker 2: Jordan is in real life because he just seems so youthful,
- 11:33Speaker 2: Like he does not seem like a Golden contestant to me.
- 11:37Speaker 3: No, he yeah, he was. He's like I would hang
- 11:40Speaker 3: out with him.
- 11:41Speaker 6: I mean he's he's what twenty years older than me,
- 11:43Speaker 6: probably maybe more, but yeah, he had like you know,
- 11:47Speaker 6: the tight jeans on and the whole deal. On the date,
- 11:50Speaker 6: he was nervous because you know how it is that
- 11:52Speaker 6: they're on a hometown date. I'm like, oh, you know,
- 11:54Speaker 6: I'm like trying to talk to these guys, but in
- 11:57Speaker 6: his mind he's still thinking about like he's.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah, this date with her.
- 12:00Speaker 2: He probably He's like, this is fun for you, but
- 12:03Speaker 2: this is very dark rocking for me. Were you on tape?
- 12:07Speaker 3: No?
- 12:08Speaker 6: No, no, no, it was they were like on the
- 12:11Speaker 6: river walk and we're like two blocks down. So I
- 12:14Speaker 6: walked over hung out with Bradford and some of them
- 12:17Speaker 6: for a little nice Yeah. I was there for like
- 12:20Speaker 6: fifteen minutes.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I figured it may have been just like a producer
- 12:23Speaker 2: pop in say heck, yeah, guys. You are kind of
- 12:28Speaker 2: known to me on social media as the starters of
- 12:31Speaker 2: the whole watch me rate my outfit for my soule.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You guys created that and then Jared stole it a
- 12:38Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago for a Macy Dad. So thank
- 12:41Speaker 2: you for the idea.
- 12:42Speaker 5: You welcome, Mari.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Do you like order dresses for the content or are
- 12:48Speaker 2: you just like you're ordering dresses and like, hey, babe,
- 12:50Speaker 2: come and rate what you want me to wear on
- 12:52Speaker 2: next date night or next next event night.
- 12:55Speaker 5: So it's a mix of both. I don't even remember
- 12:58Speaker 5: like why I started it. I think I don't remember.
- 13:01Speaker 5: I think I had just like stocked up on a
- 13:03Speaker 5: bunch of new like dresses or something because it was
- 13:05Speaker 5: like summertime and I was like, let me order some
- 13:08Speaker 5: new dresses, and I was like, hmm, instead of because
- 13:10Speaker 5: normally I would just post it like me trying them
- 13:12Speaker 5: on and then I like it.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Right, like, guys, which one do you like the most?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 13:17Speaker 5: And then I had the idea, like, you know, it
- 13:18Speaker 5: would be like cool if Kenny did it and it
- 13:20Speaker 5: had like an actual scorecard and everything. So that's how
- 13:24Speaker 5: it started. And so now I try not to, like,
- 13:28Speaker 5: you know, be wasteful, So like if it's something that
- 13:30Speaker 5: I'm already purchasing, like a few pairs of jeans, then
- 13:33Speaker 5: you know that fits in. Or I'll even do it
- 13:35Speaker 5: with like clothes that I've owned for years, like I
- 13:38Speaker 5: had to go body suit in like different colors. Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 5: I'll do it with that. And then I actually we
- 13:44Speaker 5: just did it for the first time as an ad also,
- 13:47Speaker 5: so that was cool, you know, getting an AD for
- 13:50Speaker 5: something that I would have already done on my own.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Anyway, Yeah, I love it. We love it. So I
- 13:54Speaker 2: want to ask you guys some fun questions first, just
- 13:57Speaker 2: like kind of you know, I wouldn't say rapid fire,
- 14:00Speaker 2: but sort of like that. Who's the better cook.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Mari?
- 14:05Speaker 2: What's she the best at cooking.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Any food? Any food I could cook. I cook eggs,
- 14:15Speaker 3: I got you know what, I cooked steak better than
- 14:17Speaker 3: she does. I think that's about it.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yeah, meat is more, in my opinion, a guy's territory,
- 14:23Speaker 2: because I'm not really down for that either. It's very hard.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I also don't choose to make chicken. That scares me.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I don't know when it's going to be right, you know,
- 14:33Speaker 2: I don't know. It could be pank, I don't know
- 14:35Speaker 2: it's gonna be no thanks? What is well? Who is
- 14:40Speaker 2: the one to most likely resolve a say sorry first?
- 14:44Speaker 3: Probably Mari.
- 14:47Speaker 6: Yeah, she also starts most of them as well.
- 14:50Speaker 2: No, I don't Besides, where you're gonna live, what kind
- 14:58Speaker 2: of sparks a fight?
- 15:00Speaker 3: Usually I have a lot of stuff.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Okay, there's a lot of stuff in a lot of places,
- 15:06Speaker 5: And when you have a lot of stuff in a
- 15:08Speaker 5: small apartment, there's not like necessarily a place for all
- 15:11Speaker 5: the stuff to go. So he doesn't like that, you know.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Sometimes there's like, well, yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I'm like a minimalist.
- 15:18Speaker 6: I don't have anything like but it's just there's like
- 15:21Speaker 6: piles of clothes everywhere.
- 15:23Speaker 2: See, I don't mind when things are out, like if
- 15:26Speaker 2: I have laundry them and put away like that. Of course,
- 15:28Speaker 2: like is something that I want to get to. But
- 15:31Speaker 2: for me, what annoys me the most is is Jared's
- 15:35Speaker 2: little tendency of like leaving something that he has to
- 15:37Speaker 2: get to on the counter. And why is it different
- 15:42Speaker 2: to me? It's because like if he has like miscellaneous
- 15:46Speaker 2: parts of something on the counter, like this doesn't have
- 15:50Speaker 2: a home in our house spot. See, if I knew
- 15:53Speaker 2: it had a spot, then I could just go put
- 15:55Speaker 2: it there. And if I put his stuff away, then
- 15:59Speaker 2: he gets to know. But I'm like, okay, But but
- 16:01Speaker 2: it'll sit there on the counter for like a week,
- 16:04Speaker 2: and it annoyed the crap out of me. So I
- 16:06Speaker 2: really just need to make a home for it.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Well, I don't understand what it's about either, but I'm
- 16:12Speaker 5: the exact same way, like I would much rather like
- 16:15Speaker 5: the room or like my side of the room be
- 16:17Speaker 5: a mess than like have stuff on the counter or
- 16:19Speaker 5: like in the living room area like.
- 16:20Speaker 2: That it's the common space area, even though like for
- 16:22Speaker 2: you guys, it's all common it's all common space, I suppose.
- 16:26Speaker 2: But the bedroom is more of like I guess it's
- 16:29Speaker 2: like a dressing room to me. And yeah, but like
- 16:33Speaker 2: if the kitchen counter on the coffee table.
- 16:39Speaker 5: You get.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Okay, who is more likely to like plan a vacation,
- 16:44Speaker 2: do something spontaneous.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I don't know. We kind of both do that now.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Yeah, well we because we did our We did our
- 16:52Speaker 6: first like europe trip to Ireland last year, this year,
- 16:57Speaker 6: this year, and then we kind of got like addicted
- 17:02Speaker 6: to trying to go to Europe all the time now
- 17:04Speaker 6: instead of like besides Europe, so.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I get that it's really the only place I would
- 17:10Speaker 2: care to go to.
- 17:11Speaker 6: Yeah, well yeah, and then like it's almost like it
- 17:15Speaker 6: was more affordable. We went to Denmark and it was
- 17:17Speaker 6: like more affordable to fly into like La and and
- 17:21Speaker 6: and it was like all across the board, hotel, airfare,
- 17:24Speaker 6: everything was like half the price of go in LA.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Basically, Wow, that's why so many people went over there
- 17:28Speaker 2: for Taylor Swift concerts.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Yeah right, he's much more like so, for example, Christmas
- 17:37Speaker 5: is coming up, and like instead of doing gifts, he's like, oh,
- 17:39Speaker 5: let's just plan a trip instead. So like in that aspect,
- 17:41Speaker 5: I would say it's him when it comes to actually
- 17:44Speaker 5: planning it though, and like looking for the flights that
- 17:46Speaker 5: I do that.
- 17:58Speaker 2: All right, Well, actually leads me to a question for
- 18:01Speaker 2: married couples and Christmas gifts, Like I would rather Jared
- 18:04Speaker 2: and I just like plan something an experienced thing, or
- 18:08Speaker 2: I'd rather honestly just be like, hey, like what charity
- 18:11Speaker 2: do you want to give to?
- 18:12Speaker 5: Because like we don't.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Need any more stuff, and we want to give stuff
- 18:16Speaker 2: to the kids. You know, that's once you have kids,
- 18:18Speaker 2: You're just like, oh, we want to shop for them.
- 18:20Speaker 2: That's fun, but like we do not need anything anything else.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So what do you guys, what do you typically do?
- 18:29Speaker 2: Are you doing like vacations and experiences? And if that
- 18:32Speaker 2: is what you know? You just kind of mentioned do
- 18:34Speaker 2: you still get little things to unwrap on Christmas? You
- 18:37Speaker 2: just need to get a couple of little things? Right?
- 18:40Speaker 6: Yes, that was found out yesterday that she bought something.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah. See I have like two three things for him
- 18:49Speaker 2: to unwrap, and I'm like, is that enough? Is he
- 18:51Speaker 2: going to get me more than three things to unwrap?
- 18:54Speaker 5: Exactly? We still need something under the tree, like the
- 18:57Speaker 5: experience when wrapping it. It's like something small. It doesn't
- 19:00Speaker 5: got to be anything huge, but like just just a
- 19:02Speaker 5: little something and then we also do the experience.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 19:08Speaker 2: It's tricky when it's like, omel, it's my money too,
- 19:10Speaker 2: So like, let's have a don't mind me anything. I
- 19:14Speaker 2: don't really stuff like that. Okay, let's do a little
- 19:20Speaker 2: flip situation, Kenny, what do you think Mari's favorite memory
- 19:25Speaker 2: from Bachelor and Paradise.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Was probably throwing my birthday cake in the fire?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yep, that's exactly what came to mind. Really, the bad
- 19:38Speaker 2: memory has turned into a good memory.
- 19:41Speaker 5: I mean, it's funny now to look back on it.
- 19:44Speaker 5: And you know, it's funny because I was getting my
- 19:48Speaker 5: makeup done the other day. This is in aside here,
- 19:50Speaker 5: but they were asking me about that moment and they
- 19:53Speaker 5: were like, oh, you know, we didn't. You know, you're
- 19:55Speaker 5: so nice, like you're so sweet and kind, like I
- 19:57Speaker 5: never would have thought like you would do something like that.
- 19:59Speaker 5: And I was like, hmm, this leads me to believe
- 20:02Speaker 5: that there are a fraction of people out there who
- 20:05Speaker 5: believe that I am like that in like actual real life,
- 20:08Speaker 5: which is far from the truth.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I'm obsessed that you said this.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Like that was a very specific like we're on camera
- 20:17Speaker 5: right now, like I'm angry, we're gonna play this up
- 20:19Speaker 5: like I would not ever actually throw food or any
- 20:22Speaker 5: object at anybody in like a normal real life situation.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So I was talking about this on my other podcast
- 20:29Speaker 2: called I Don't Get It, and we were my my
- 20:32Speaker 2: friend nass Like Ashley, you like are not confrontational and
- 20:36Speaker 2: you always say that you won't speak up in this
- 20:38Speaker 2: situation or that, But you are the girl who literally
- 20:41Speaker 2: had one of like the most memorable experiences on two
- 20:45Speaker 2: on one. How can you say that? And I go,
- 20:48Speaker 2: I think there's something called like camera courage, Like just
- 20:54Speaker 2: the environment of being on a TV show, even though
- 20:57Speaker 2: like it is so much our real lives what we're experiencing,
- 21:01Speaker 2: it does make you do slightly sassier things than you
- 21:05Speaker 2: would do in the quote real world.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Yeah. Absolutely, And like for me personally, it definitely flashed
- 21:10Speaker 5: my head. I'm like, Okay, this is gonna be good TV.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Like people are going to talk about this like I'm
- 21:14Speaker 5: going for it.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yep. Okay. So then, Mari, what do you think is
- 21:19Speaker 2: Kenny's most memorable or favorite moment for Paradise.
- 21:23Speaker 5: M probably something to do with being naked, like the
- 21:26Speaker 5: taco date.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You guys were naked all the time, or I guess
- 21:31Speaker 2: like Kenny was more so naked. Why do I have
- 21:33Speaker 2: more like memories of Kenny, have you had like a
- 21:37Speaker 2: leaf when you walk down.
- 21:39Speaker 5: That I wasn't you.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Was Jacob blackbox? Now? Okay here two years ago?
- 21:46Speaker 2: Why did you get black boxed?
- 21:48Speaker 3: Well?
- 21:48Speaker 6: They I actually so initially I was gonna calm down naked, okay,
- 21:54Speaker 6: and then we switched to like a very small speedo
- 21:57Speaker 6: basically okay, and that's what I came down, and then
- 22:00Speaker 6: they black box that.
- 22:02Speaker 5: To make it look like he was actually naked.
- 22:05Speaker 2: All right, So I knew I had a memory of
- 22:07Speaker 2: you not having.
- 22:09Speaker 6: I mean, they talked about it doing doing it legitimately naked,
- 22:13Speaker 6: which I said, f I, I don't care, and then they
- 22:16Speaker 6: got like they're like, oh okay, we better.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Not do that. So I don't know.
- 22:21Speaker 6: I just I don't even know where that all came from.
- 22:25Speaker 6: I think, I mean, there was some stuff on my
- 22:28Speaker 6: season with Claire that we were like naked stuff Dodgebable
- 22:31Speaker 6: and all that stuff, so I think they were just
- 22:33Speaker 6: it was kind of just a playoff of like where
- 22:35Speaker 6: I had come from before Paradise, and then it just
- 22:39Speaker 6: turned into a thing. Basically every date I went on
- 22:43Speaker 6: in Paradise, there was it was new to be involved.
- 22:47Speaker 2: This is a little bit of a t M. I
- 22:51Speaker 2: rated our question, and I'm sorry if I'm being too personal,
- 22:55Speaker 2: but when you guys had that date where you basically
- 22:57Speaker 2: were like naked and like putting like food on your back,
- 23:00Speaker 2: was it the sushi tacos tacos? Okay, sorry thinking about
- 23:04Speaker 2: sex and the city taco ingredients taco ingredients? Was that
- 23:08Speaker 2: the first time you guys saw each other naked? And
- 23:10Speaker 2: did you even see each other naked on that day
- 23:12Speaker 2: or were they trying for they being a little bit
- 23:14Speaker 2: more coy.
- 23:16Speaker 5: So we were covered. They put like fake leaves on
- 23:19Speaker 5: us for that, so we didn't see each other like
- 23:22Speaker 5: fully naked at that point. I don't remember if we
- 23:24Speaker 5: already had gone to the boom boomer.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Before No, I don't think so.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Okay, all right, My last fun question is just what
- 23:36Speaker 2: has been your favorite memory as a married couple besides
- 23:40Speaker 2: the weddings?
- 23:42Speaker 3: Hmmm?
- 23:43Speaker 5: For each of you, I would say probably our trip
- 23:47Speaker 5: to Ireland.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I was actually gonna say that.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Yeah, because it was our first like big international trip.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I mean, we've gone to like other countries in North America.
- 23:56Speaker 5: We did Guatemala, but it was our first time going
- 23:59Speaker 5: like overseas together, and I think traveling with a partner
- 24:03Speaker 5: is always like a good indicator of like how your
- 24:05Speaker 5: relationship is going to work out, which for us, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 5: it was fine, but it really sparked that, like, hey,
- 24:12Speaker 5: let's do more of this together, you know. So it's
- 24:15Speaker 5: kind of like it was the set up the foundation
- 24:17Speaker 5: for us to continue doing that.
- 24:19Speaker 4: So I love it. I think, God, Okay, I well,
- 24:28Speaker 4: it's kind of like extended.
- 24:29Speaker 6: But like so we when she moved to Chicago, like
- 24:32Speaker 6: me and my dad drove in a moving truck from Chicago,
- 24:36Speaker 6: like what is it thirteen hours straight and then my
- 24:40Speaker 6: it was me, her and my dad and then like
- 24:43Speaker 6: we slept, my dad like slept on the floor because
- 24:46Speaker 6: all our stuff was and then we drove back home
- 24:50Speaker 6: the next day.
- 24:51Speaker 3: So it's like thirteen.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Hours to Maryland to Maryland, we slept, woke up, packed
- 24:57Speaker 6: the moving truck, and then drove back straight like thirteen
- 25:02Speaker 6: hours straight.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Holy most.
- 25:05Speaker 3: And yeah, so it was like.
- 25:08Speaker 6: Which I don't think like some people like on the show,
- 25:10Speaker 6: don't get like if there's not that kind of effort
- 25:14Speaker 6: post show, it's it's really not probably gonna work out.
- 25:18Speaker 6: But like for me, it was like it was like, hey,
- 25:22Speaker 6: we're this is a legit thing. Like my family was involved,
- 25:26Speaker 6: Like we're driving out there, packing her shit, bringing her back,
- 25:30Speaker 6: all the whole thing. So like that whole thing, you know.
- 25:34Speaker 6: I always that always kind of you know, comes up
- 25:36Speaker 6: in my mind.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Oh that's so sweet. That really is It was the beginning.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It was like the real life beginning of it all.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Yeah, well all this has to do with travel really,
- 25:46Speaker 2: And that makes me think that if you guys were
- 25:50Speaker 2: to do any reality show that wasn't The Bachelor, what
- 25:54Speaker 2: would it be together as a couple. I the audience
- 25:57Speaker 2: is gonna be tired of me saying this, but I've
- 25:59Speaker 2: been saying it for time, and maybe The Bachelor will
- 26:01Speaker 2: catch on one time. But I think that there should
- 26:04Speaker 2: be an amazing race or survivor like show where the
- 26:10Speaker 2: married couples from the franchise go and compete against each other. Right,
- 26:15Speaker 2: Everybody is always like I want to see the married
- 26:17Speaker 2: couples again because they get to see the singles be
- 26:20Speaker 2: in paradise and you know married couples you know that
- 26:24Speaker 2: you follow on social media and.
- 26:25Speaker 1: We love it.
- 26:26Speaker 2: But I think it would just be really really fun
- 26:28Speaker 2: to have a new spin off show. So you guys
- 26:31Speaker 2: had to do if we if you were if we
- 26:33Speaker 2: were to create something like that, what format would you
- 26:35Speaker 2: want it to be in.
- 26:38Speaker 6: Well, I would say, like, I think more of Amazing
- 26:41Speaker 6: Race over Survivor type.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Thing, but not naked and afraid. Kenny, No, absolutely.
- 26:50Speaker 6: No, Yeah, it was crazy though they were like in
- 26:52Speaker 6: the they're like in the jungle, like literally nothing.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I'm tough. I don't think I could do that. I agree,
- 27:00Speaker 5: I think Amazing Race style would be really good. And
- 27:03Speaker 5: I love the idea of bringing back like former couples
- 27:07Speaker 5: or like you know, still couples but from former seasons
- 27:09Speaker 5: of the show. That would be so much fun.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Any kind of competition, Oh.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm socially in a high stress situation, like to
- 27:16Speaker 2: see how the dynamic is when it's not a romantic setting.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Such a good idea, and I'm like such a competitive
- 27:26Speaker 5: person I would yeah, I'd do whatever it takes to
- 27:30Speaker 5: win whatever the prize is.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Okay, Well, guys, thank you so much for joining us.
- 27:35Speaker 2: This was really fun and we love catching up with you.
- 27:38Speaker 2: So come back next time you have anything to promote
- 27:40Speaker 2: or you just want to catch Upvoting your second year
- 27:42Speaker 2: of marriage sounds good.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Thanks for having it, to see.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Good to see you too. Bye. Well that is Mari
- 27:52Speaker 2: and Kenny and they are so cute, So glad to
- 27:55Speaker 2: call them a bachelor in Paradise fellow couple success story.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Until next time, hope you guys have a very merry Christmas,
- 28:05Speaker 2: Happy hanukhah, happy whatever you celebrate if it's not one
