Day 21 - Camino Frances: Hornillos to Castrojeriz
Day 21: a 19-kilometre walk from Hornillos to Castrojeriz with an early start alongside fellow pilgrims. A welcome stop at Fuente Ciedras albergue/bar offered big mugs, warm drinks and peanut butter-and-banana on toast before continuing. The route passes impressive abbey ruins and finishes in Castrojeriz, a long village at the base of a hill topped by a medieval castle — a striking example of centuries-old stone architecture.
