Latest / FPL Pod / S7 Ep31: FPL Pod: Double Gameweek time
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: The excitement is real for the first double of the season.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We're trebled up on Liverpool and looking at Everton's defense.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Our differentials are also Merseyside heavy and Sam Spieling nervy
- 0:10Speaker 1: not to have a triple captain. Okay, guys, it's here.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Double Game Week twenty four is upon us. It's a
- 0:21Speaker 1: big week. This is a big podcast. So unfortunately we've
- 0:24Speaker 1: only got twillion wrong, but we have got Sam bondfield
- 0:26Speaker 1: as well. I've kind of been excited for this game week,
- 0:31Speaker 1: but also dreading it because it feels like there is
- 0:32Speaker 1: a lot of pressure on it. Good morning, Juels. How
- 0:35Speaker 1: are you feeling about the upcoming game week?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Hi Kelly, Hi everyone, that's super cool. I've made my
- 0:39Speaker 2: transfer already. I don't know what's going on this week,
- 0:41Speaker 2: like you, nice solready, I know. I guess it's the
- 0:44Speaker 2: all that Champions League excitement from Wednesday night that got
- 0:47Speaker 2: to me and I thought, as we may as well
- 0:51Speaker 2: be ready for the first double game week of the season,
- 0:53Speaker 2: you know, so I went early.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I watched you on UK television last night. You were
- 0:57Speaker 1: on highlights on the Champions League Match of the Day
- 1:00Speaker 1: night and you did what no one should ever do
- 1:02Speaker 1: on a highlights show and gave away one of the
- 1:04Speaker 1: biggest stories in the opening link. And I thought you
- 1:06Speaker 1: were about to do the same there, because you know
- 1:07Speaker 1: we do transfers in the year. I thought you were
- 1:10Speaker 1: going to do the same and give away your transfer.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It was all set up on television to make people
- 1:14Speaker 2: laugh and everything. You know, it was perfect, of course.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever, Sam, how are you feeling?
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, I I might have some goalkeeper headaches to
- 1:23Speaker 3: deal with this week.
- 1:25Speaker 2: We could.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I was going to say, I feel like that's just
- 1:28Speaker 1: a clip that we could just clan into every pod
- 1:30Speaker 1: much every week, just and I thought it was over this,
- 1:32Speaker 1: like premium goalkeepers. That's fine.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I'm over the goalkeeper dramas. No, it still got some
- 1:36Speaker 3: goalkeeper dramas.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Otherwise, I'm feeling all right. Obviously, I'm troubled up on
- 1:40Speaker 3: Liverpool more importantly, Cals, How upset were you that you
- 1:43Speaker 3: didn't go early on gackpo.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Ah.
- 1:48Speaker 1: But I'm just so scared of doing transfers in this
- 1:50Speaker 1: Champions League. Yeah, I'm just so scared of it because
- 1:54Speaker 1: the way my luck's been this season. He'd have gone
- 1:56Speaker 1: and broken his leg last night if I'd put him
- 1:57Speaker 1: in aute the weekend.
- 1:58Speaker 3: No, but I meant, did you not because you were
- 2:00Speaker 3: talking about doing that last week?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Weren't you ahead of it?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Oh?
- 2:03Speaker 1: So I was so desperate to come into this game
- 2:05Speaker 1: week having two transfers. Yeah so no, Yeah, obviously in hindsight,
- 2:09Speaker 1: I am. But I know why I did it. There's
- 2:10Speaker 1: a lot of things this season which I don't know
- 2:12Speaker 1: why I've done them, at least with that. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 1: but this this is one where I go, Oh, that's annoying.
- 2:18Speaker 1: What's more annoying is I had exact funds to go
- 2:21Speaker 1: from Chris Wood and David Reya to Gakpo and Pickford
- 2:26Speaker 1: and I didn't do it, and now I can't do it.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's annoying. That is annoying.
- 2:29Speaker 2: That's really annoying.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Because now, no, but I planned it. But again it's
- 2:33Speaker 1: the Champions League. I was really well planned with it,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and I just I knew his price is going to
- 2:37Speaker 1: go up. And I laid there in bed and was like,
- 2:40Speaker 1: he's going to break his leg on Wednesday night, isn't it.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I just was so convinced. So I didn't do it,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and he didn't break his leg. He scored again. He
- 2:48Speaker 1: was brilliant last weekend. Yeah cool, I'm glad we started
- 2:52Speaker 1: on such a positive note before we go into game
- 2:54Speaker 1: week twenty three and how we all did and to findly,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm annoyed about that as well, Jules. As I mentioned
- 3:00Speaker 1: recross all the European matches, this is the point where
- 3:02Speaker 1: you can say everything we need to know about it
- 3:05Speaker 1: and you don't have to worry about giving no way
- 3:06Speaker 1: spoilers because.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Probably that's true. Yeah for English clubs obviously in the
- 3:10Speaker 2: Champions League as always a lot of rotation. When it
- 3:13Speaker 2: comes down to Liverpool and the game, Aware appears behind
- 3:15Speaker 2: OHM with like nine starters I think not then no Sala,
- 3:18Speaker 2: no van Dyk, no Trent Robertson has center by that
- 3:21Speaker 2: kind of stuff. A lot of kids on the page
- 3:23Speaker 2: who did well, by the way, despite the defeat, so
- 3:26Speaker 2: you know that if you are doubling up traveling up
- 3:30Speaker 2: on Liverpool place for this double game week, then you
- 3:32Speaker 2: know at least some of them would be really fresh.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It was pretty much just then for Arsenal Aware as Girona,
- 3:38Speaker 2: except that they won't. But again loads of rotation from
- 3:40Speaker 2: Mikaela Teta, no Haveds, no Martinelli who so lovely Gold
- 3:44Speaker 2: by Ethan Juanieri. No Saliba who's on the bench. No
- 3:47Speaker 2: Rayah Neto started in Gold, so again loads of rotation.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Aston Villa with the strongest team and mat City with
- 3:53Speaker 2: the strongest team in the other two young Morgan Rodgers.
- 3:55Speaker 2: The start of the show really is first hat trick
- 3:58Speaker 2: for aston Villa, pretty pretty amazing despite another injury with
- 4:02Speaker 2: Matty Cash taken off after just half an hour. For
- 4:04Speaker 2: Villas we want to keep an eye on and for
- 4:06Speaker 2: City they had to go for it. They had to win.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It was really the only team they had to win.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They did win, although it was a bit tens a
- 4:12Speaker 2: half time when they were going down. We saw a
- 4:14Speaker 2: really good entrance from Savigno who scored and forth the
- 4:18Speaker 2: second goal which was an on goal from Brush and
- 4:20Speaker 2: could go back cover Chitch as well.
- 4:23Speaker 1: That was a brilliant roundup. I don't know why. I'm
- 4:25Speaker 1: always shocked when you do that, but it's always very concise.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It's like you do this broadcasting. Yes, so that's where
- 4:30Speaker 1: we are after the Champions League, so a few takeaway
- 4:33Speaker 1: points for us in FPL. David Rayer is a headache
- 4:35Speaker 1: that both myself and Sam have in a way though, Sam,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure we'll talk about it in a
- 4:39Speaker 1: bit more detail. I didn't want a headache, as you didn't,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and we'd rather do it more exciting things. A goalkeeper transfers.
- 4:46Speaker 1: But I wonder if we needed that to shock us
- 4:47Speaker 1: into selling him.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, maybe I did think that last night when
- 4:51Speaker 3: I saw that he wasn't playing, I was like, okay,
- 4:54Speaker 3: does that now, because I like, you've been holding that
- 4:57Speaker 3: transfer thinking about what I'm going to do, and I
- 4:59Speaker 3: had a plan, and now that plan maybe has gone
- 5:00Speaker 3: out the window, so it might just be the thing
- 5:03Speaker 3: I need to just go right. I'm done with you.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Here comes a new goalkeeper. Okay, we'll talk about that
- 5:08Speaker 1: in more detail shortly, I am sure.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Just to check in with our mini league and how
- 5:13Speaker 1: the three of us plus Ian got on last week.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Sam got fifty seven points, Jewel's got forty six points.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Somehow I outscored both of you with sixty four points. Ian,
- 5:22Speaker 1: though he's not on this podcast, we need to mention this.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He got seventy one. He's doing pretty well, isn't He's
- 5:27Speaker 1: only two points behind me now cows. Yeah, he's massively
- 5:33Speaker 1: on social and tagging. Yeah, so Sam's on one thousand,
- 5:35Speaker 1: four hundred and nineteen points. Ian is on one thousand,
- 5:37Speaker 1: four hundred and seventeen points. I'm not too far behind.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm fifteen points behind Sam. But every time I get
- 5:42Speaker 1: to around ten fifteen points, I have a disasters game week,
- 5:45Speaker 1: So cute a disaster stuff again. Week twenty four year,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I'm on one thousand, four hundred and four and jewels.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Hold on from Lord are you?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Where are you just scrolling? Just scrolling one thousand, three
- 5:56Speaker 1: hundred and fifty seven.
- 5:57Speaker 2: It's a marathon, No I sprint. We all to know
- 5:59Speaker 2: that I'd beat you by the end of the season.
- 6:01Speaker 1: He probably will to be fair fighting talk. Yeah, clip
- 6:04Speaker 1: that up and we'll play you on May. The way,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I don't know when the season is, but May at
- 6:08Speaker 1: some point and game week. Then, in terms of my
- 6:11Speaker 1: game week, I'm fuming because I was playing a back
- 6:13Speaker 1: for the whole time. At the last minute, I benched Kirkez.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I knew that it was the week to go big
- 6:16Speaker 1: at the back. We've been talking about it on the pod.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And what did I do the exact oppositey, I benched
- 6:20Speaker 1: Kirkz and Grieves' points so sixty four wasn't bad, but
- 6:23Speaker 1: it could have been even better. Sam, how was your
- 6:25Speaker 1: game week? Well?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Again, I was annoyed at Arsenal team sheets because when
- 6:29Speaker 3: I saw Saliba was paying, I was like, now, wish
- 6:31Speaker 3: I play Timber and gone four at the back. But
- 6:33Speaker 3: then obviously it was too late to change it by then,
- 6:35Speaker 3: so it was okay. I benched Timber, was really annoyed
- 6:39Speaker 3: with Lewis das in a for one win that he
- 6:42Speaker 3: didn't get something, and Trent losing the clean sheet angered me.
- 6:46Speaker 3: So basically the Liverpool game frustrated me. Let's not talk
- 6:50Speaker 3: about what happened to Spurs on Sunday please, I.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Wasn't going to, but that might now teures. Yeah, I
- 6:55Speaker 1: was gonna say, you just reminded him now.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That you could not lose to Leicester at home. I'm
- 6:59Speaker 2: surely that's not lek about. You know what. I was
- 7:04Speaker 2: really proud of me last weekend because I played himself,
- 7:10Speaker 2: because I played it fair. I knew Saliba was going
- 7:13Speaker 2: to play and I and I thought it was unfair
- 7:16Speaker 2: to start to put him in my team because I
- 7:18Speaker 2: was probably a very not many people knew that he
- 7:21Speaker 2: would start because he was still very much uncertain, and yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 2: so I was just like, I just thought it's fair,
- 7:28Speaker 2: not it's fair to bench him. So I benched him,
- 7:30Speaker 2: and that cost me nine points to be fair. But
- 7:33Speaker 2: it's okay, but it was it was the right thing
- 7:36Speaker 2: to do because most of the managers don't have access
- 7:39Speaker 2: to some of the news that we have, for example,
- 7:41Speaker 2: so I thought, I just I thought you'd be more
- 7:44Speaker 2: like more happy with me do that. Okay.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It just feels like a really bad excuse for leaving point.
- 7:52Speaker 2: No, because anyway, it wouldn't have been a much better week. Anyway,
- 7:55Speaker 2: even with the nine point from Saliba, it would have
- 7:56Speaker 2: taken me to fifty five, which it's true true, but
- 8:01Speaker 2: I would.
- 8:02Speaker 1: You're in the in the kind of area where any
- 8:04Speaker 1: point helps.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm sorry, I know what you're saying, but
- 8:09Speaker 2: I felt good by not playing Saliba to be fair,
- 8:12Speaker 2: because I just felt it was unfound people who who
- 8:14Speaker 2: thought he was out basically when I knew he wasn't.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on to the FPL Board Mini League then.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Max Little Proud made two transfers last week, and he's
- 8:23Speaker 1: extended his league at the top even further. He sold
- 8:25Speaker 1: Sanchez for Pickford as well as Watkins for Gagbro. They're
- 8:28Speaker 1: good transfers. Wish I'd done those. Those transfers got him
- 8:31Speaker 1: an extra fourteen points. He's still first in the world.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Charlie is second. Still, he's still second in the world
- 8:37Speaker 1: overall as well, he's just nine points by Max. A
- 8:39Speaker 1: really interesting.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Charlie by the way, You mean he does television?
- 8:44Speaker 1: Oh yes, yeah, I love that.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah. If you want to come on, Charlie drops a message,
- 8:50Speaker 1: don't really know if I've got the authorities to do that. No,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I don't, and you're probably not going to be allowed
- 8:55Speaker 1: to come on. But hello. All the same, Jake Poplowski
- 8:57Speaker 1: remains third of our league. He's forty seven points Binie.
- 9:00Speaker 1: But Jake has all of his chips left, whereas Charlie
- 9:03Speaker 1: just has the bench boost and assistant manager Max has
- 9:05Speaker 1: already used his triple captain. So yeah, advantage Jake in
- 9:08Speaker 1: terms of chips at least. Yeah. Remind if you haven't
- 9:11Speaker 1: joined that league and you think you could do well,
- 9:13Speaker 1: or you just want to play against fellow listeners, the
- 9:15Speaker 1: code is cute seven white C zero double game Week
- 9:18Speaker 1: twenty four. Then for like here we should put in
- 9:20Speaker 1: like a big sound effect, like a dramatic sound effect,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and I have Jesse can do that. If not imagine
- 9:25Speaker 1: there's one here.
- 9:26Speaker 2: In fact.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That was me accidentally sapping my giant water bottle.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Indo on purpose.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Jewels. It was an excellent beefling around my pen.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So Liverpool last week we talked about them loads, didn't
- 9:41Speaker 1: we We won't go in too much detail. If you
- 9:42Speaker 1: want to go back and listen, there's a big section
- 9:45Speaker 1: on Arno Slot's men. How are we feeling? What are
- 9:47Speaker 1: our Liverpools that's going to be going into the game week?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Jewels?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Who are your two or three or one? Maybe?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah? So I had Virgin that brought in last week
- 9:55Speaker 2: for the clean sheet obviously against ifuture Home. That worked
- 9:58Speaker 2: for a ninety one minute and then somehow they're conceded
- 10:01Speaker 2: and I was like, are you for real? Are you
- 10:02Speaker 2: kidding me? Plus Salah obviously I was.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I was angry, but then also I thought it was
- 10:06Speaker 1: quite funny. So you've done that, Lea see at least
- 10:09Speaker 1: Cannae and Trent got an assesss.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah exactly. I was going to my body Karnat
- 10:15Speaker 2: pars Born and Bread as well, and I just thought
- 10:17Speaker 2: with Virgil. You know, virgin is going to play every
- 10:19Speaker 2: single game with Karnates is not completely fully fit, as
- 10:22Speaker 2: we explained last week, so there was a little bit
- 10:24Speaker 2: of a risk with Kannates. So I just thought Virgil
- 10:26Speaker 2: is safe. I've got the money, let's go for Virgil
- 10:29Speaker 2: and Indian. I should have gone for Kannati, my boy.
- 10:31Speaker 2: So anyway, but my transfer is called gakput in for
- 10:35Speaker 2: Chris Wood, So I've.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Got It's quite boy, isn't it, Because I feel like
- 10:37Speaker 1: we're all everyone's going to have the same three And
- 10:40Speaker 1: that's what's almost annoying about the gag Poy transfer. Now,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I feel like I have to do it just to
- 10:44Speaker 1: keep up.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's on by eighteen point five percent of the match,
- 10:47Speaker 2: so it's not too too bad. It's not too much.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Everyone's way to be higher than that.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Everyone that we're kind of competing that if you want
- 10:53Speaker 1: to go up in the world, you need to have
- 10:55Speaker 1: because if he returns, you're just going to get left behind. Equally,
- 10:58Speaker 1: the flip side of that is if you go for
- 10:59Speaker 1: someone different, you're going to be I presume Gakpo sala Trent.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I've got Dash of course, So it's me talking about
- 11:06Speaker 1: people getting left behind. Jules Sam's gonna get We'll see
- 11:08Speaker 1: what happened. I'm not going to no.
- 11:10Speaker 3: It could easily happen after last weekend, couldn't it, Like
- 11:12Speaker 3: I think it is Jewel Hall though, isn't he JAUSI better? Honestly,
- 11:18Speaker 3: me and him are going to have massive falling out
- 11:20Speaker 3: if he doesn't return across this double game week. I
- 11:23Speaker 3: don't know, like we'll see. I'm already troubled up, so
- 11:25Speaker 3: I'm just I'm just going with what I have now.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I think it's too late to start taking. I'd have
- 11:29Speaker 3: to take a hit as well to change it, and
- 11:31Speaker 3: I'd have to take a hit now to get Gackpo. Yeah,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and I'd have to take and I'd have to take
- 11:35Speaker 3: out a player that I actually I actually think Chris
- 11:38Speaker 3: Wo can be really good this week, so I do
- 11:40Speaker 3: wouldn't really want to get rid of him. I've only
- 11:43Speaker 3: just bought him Meschester, so I don't want to lose
- 11:45Speaker 3: him like I like my front three. So finding a
- 11:47Speaker 3: space with Gappo is quite tough, particularly at a point where
- 11:52Speaker 3: it depending on what happens in the League Cup in
- 11:53Speaker 3: the midweek, we could end up with a situation where
- 11:56Speaker 3: we know that they're Liverpool blanking and if I've taken
- 11:58Speaker 3: a hit to bring in gap Po to take out
- 12:00Speaker 3: asked to then have to take them all back out again,
- 12:01Speaker 3: it doesn't make any logical sense. So I'm just gonna
- 12:05Speaker 3: stick with what I've got. I've got Sala and Trent
- 12:07Speaker 3: and then it's just hope that DEAs does enough.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And of course the other thing to mention when you
- 12:13Speaker 1: talk there about the long term plan and we say
- 12:15Speaker 1: it a lot, don't we don't rip up your team
- 12:16Speaker 1: for one double game week. As you mentioned, Liverpool could
- 12:19Speaker 1: be blanking in a few weeks, and another team that
- 12:21Speaker 1: a lot of people are heavily invested in, Newcastle, they
- 12:23Speaker 1: too could be blanking in a few weeks. So you
- 12:25Speaker 1: could have is it game week twenty nine twenty nine? Yeah,
- 12:28Speaker 1: so I know that feels ages away, but it's really not.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It's only five transfers, right, so if you've got three
- 12:35Speaker 1: of Liverpool two of Newcastle, some people will have more
- 12:37Speaker 1: than that. Even then you could, yeah, you could have
- 12:40Speaker 1: headaches and as we've seen, as you've seen sickly Sam recently,
- 12:43Speaker 1: you can plan your five transfers, but then you get
- 12:45Speaker 1: headaches elsewhere in your team as well, So yeah, just
- 12:47Speaker 1: do be slightly mindful of that this game weeky, let's
- 12:50Speaker 1: talk about Everston then it feels like it's a bit
- 12:51Speaker 1: more of a conversation to be had and it's been
- 12:53Speaker 1: quite a good time, hasn't it. Jewels for them in
- 12:55Speaker 1: terms of coming into form, back to back wins under
- 12:58Speaker 1: David Moyes right in time for this time.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. I mean two different wins really and
- 13:03Speaker 2: to be fair, one was at home and the other
- 13:05Speaker 2: one was aware at Brighton. So the first one at
- 13:08Speaker 2: home to Spurs. Everybody beat Spurs right now. This is
- 13:10Speaker 2: the team you want to be playing when you're not
- 13:12Speaker 2: doing well or you know, scoring. That was a great
- 13:14Speaker 2: performance overall by Everton. The one against Brighton they had
- 13:17Speaker 2: three shots, they scored on a penalty. They considered sixteen shots,
- 13:21Speaker 2: albeit just one on target from Brighton. But they were
- 13:24Speaker 2: a bit more under pressure. But to be fair, I
- 13:26Speaker 2: thought they managed that pressure really really well. So well
- 13:29Speaker 2: done in the kind of two different performances, one really
- 13:33Speaker 2: good attacking wise, the other one much more solid defensively,
- 13:35Speaker 2: which that's what they needed. And a bit of luck,
- 13:37Speaker 2: I guess two. So yeah, from an Everton point of view,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and David most point of view. I think you definitely
- 13:42Speaker 2: take that before the two games coming up, especially the
- 13:44Speaker 2: Liverpool one in the derby.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Okay, so are we looking at Sam? It does feel
- 13:48Speaker 1: like defensive assets are the ways to go with Everton.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And we've said it before. Jordan Pickford is a brilliant
- 13:54Speaker 1: option in terms of goalkeeper, isn't it.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, second highest goalkeeper in the game in terms of
- 13:58Speaker 3: points scored the season of ninety five, he's four behind Cells.
- 14:02Speaker 3: He's quept eight clean sheets. Only Sales has done more
- 14:04Speaker 3: than that. He's the only keeper to have saved a
- 14:05Speaker 3: couple of penalties this season. He's made sixty four saves,
- 14:08Speaker 3: picks up fourteen save points.
- 14:10Speaker 1: So he's a really good.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Option, I think, and continues to look okay because the
- 14:14Speaker 3: one thing we do know about Everton is that they
- 14:16Speaker 3: are going to play regardless of what happens in game
- 14:19Speaker 3: week twenty nine. So if you do invest in Everton,
- 14:21Speaker 3: at least you know you've got a fixture for them,
- 14:24Speaker 3: whereas you don't have that certainty of Liverpool at the moment.
- 14:26Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I think I wasn't planning to move for Pickford. I
- 14:30Speaker 3: was planning to leave it and invest in a defender instead,
- 14:34Speaker 3: but with my goalkeeper potential headache because obviously Fabianski didn't
- 14:38Speaker 3: play last week, Heather, I probably now need to do
- 14:41Speaker 3: something in the goalkeeper slot, and Pickford feels like a
- 14:44Speaker 3: good opportunity. He's got potential to pick up the additional points. Obviously,
- 14:48Speaker 3: the opening fixture is against Leicester, so there's definitely a
- 14:50Speaker 3: potential for a clean sheet there. They can be tight
- 14:53Speaker 3: when they want to be, and it's two home fixtures
- 14:55Speaker 3: in the double. So I do think Pickford is a
- 14:58Speaker 3: nice option. Other options outside of their jewels.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Pick for this without that the main one, you could
- 15:05Speaker 2: go for a defender like your friend Mikolenko, Branthway, those
- 15:09Speaker 2: kind of guys. I think Ilimanendia is interesting because he's
- 15:12Speaker 2: called two and two now and again he was very
- 15:14Speaker 2: good against Spurs attacking wise against Brighton with more difficulty,
- 15:20Speaker 2: they got a pen and he took the pen. So
- 15:21Speaker 2: if he's on penalty, that makes him even more interesting.
- 15:24Speaker 2: So but outside of Pickford and NJ, I really or
- 15:27Speaker 2: maybe a defender, but even a defender, I'm not too sure.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I don't think so well.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I was Originally, my original plan was to upgrade vanden
- 15:36Speaker 3: Berg to an Everton defender and have a fifth so
- 15:40Speaker 3: that I could cover out my issues when we get
- 15:42Speaker 3: to game week twenty nine, because obviously, if it's if
- 15:46Speaker 3: it's Newcastle, I've got a defender there. If it's Arsenal,
- 15:48Speaker 3: got defender there. If it's Liverpool, got defender there. So
- 15:50Speaker 3: it's kind of constant chaos unless I've got innocent Spurs.
- 15:53Speaker 3: And then that told me a load of drama on
- 15:57Speaker 3: multiple fronts. Yeah, exactly, But look at the defender stats
- 16:01Speaker 3: because that was the plan, that move that I was
- 16:03Speaker 3: planning to make, but it's really hard to know where
- 16:04Speaker 3: you'd go. I think Mikkelenko's probably my preferred. Ash Young's
- 16:08Speaker 3: got the most assisted of the Everton defenders. He's got three,
- 16:11Speaker 3: Michael Kean scored the most goals he's got to, Miklenko
- 16:13Speaker 3: is the most attempts on goal he's had eleven. Ash
- 16:16Speaker 3: Young's created the most chances he's created eighteen, and Tarkowski's
- 16:19Speaker 3: top for chances from set pieces with eleven. So it's
- 16:21Speaker 3: like every stat you look at suggest you would get
- 16:24Speaker 3: a different Everton defender. So for me, I think I'd
- 16:29Speaker 3: probably look at Miklenko. He's that much cheaper as well
- 16:32Speaker 3: than the likes of Branthwaite and Tarkovski, so I think
- 16:35Speaker 3: in terms of budget, he's probably the way that I
- 16:38Speaker 3: would go. That was my plan to move this week,
- 16:40Speaker 3: was to go Vandenburg to Mikolenko. Now it might be
- 16:44Speaker 3: rare to pick fin instead.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah, attacking wise, you we're not going to be bringing
- 16:48Speaker 1: anyone in all just a frown from Jewels and a
- 16:51Speaker 1: shake of the head from Sam.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I just think that the attackers are too difficult, aren't they,
- 16:54Speaker 3: Because if you're going to go there, you double up
- 16:56Speaker 3: on the Liverpool attack. Plus you've still got the likes
- 16:58Speaker 3: of Usak and all those plays that don't become bad
- 17:01Speaker 3: players just because they've only got a single game week.
- 17:03Speaker 1: How do you use this double game week for both
- 17:05Speaker 1: Liverpool and Everton, Because on paper it looks really good
- 17:09Speaker 1: for Liverpool, but actually it was a resurgent Everton or
- 17:12Speaker 1: more resilient Everton, should I say, and Bournemouth or they've
- 17:15Speaker 1: shown there can be anyone on their day, So it's
- 17:18Speaker 1: perhaps not the easiest double game week.
- 17:21Speaker 2: No, it's not. And what's quite interesting about it is
- 17:24Speaker 2: it's a double game. Usually double game week are three
- 17:26Speaker 2: days apart, right, this one is obviously the week after,
- 17:30Speaker 2: because we said they would be the leak ups on
- 17:32Speaker 2: the final second leg next week and it's only after that,
- 17:35Speaker 2: so there's actually quite a long time between Liverpool and
- 17:37Speaker 2: Bournemouth in the first half of their double game week
- 17:40Speaker 2: and before they play Everton. So you could have said,
- 17:42Speaker 2: imagine they lose away at Bournemouth and then they have
- 17:44Speaker 2: to go away straight after three days later away a goodisent.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's not going to happen like that, So I guess
- 17:52Speaker 2: in a way that's probably a little bit better from
- 17:54Speaker 2: a Liverpool point of view, because there are two difficult
- 17:55Speaker 2: fixtures for different reason. Bournemouth because they are probably the
- 17:59Speaker 2: best team right now in the league, even better than
- 18:01Speaker 2: Liverpool in the way they play, and the last two
- 18:03Speaker 2: resourts outstanding really both against Forests and Newcastle away, and
- 18:08Speaker 2: then the Everton one purely by rather re reasons, and
- 18:11Speaker 2: to go away a good decent, especially with David Moyes
- 18:14Speaker 2: who could easily play for an ind draw which would
- 18:17Speaker 2: make let Everton and Everton finds super happy. It's tricky
- 18:20Speaker 2: as well to navigate for slot I think so. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 2: it's it's not easy, but the fact that you've got
- 18:26Speaker 2: quite a bit of time in between, I think we'll have.
- 18:30Speaker 1: And for Everton, I actually think it's quite It's not
- 18:33Speaker 1: as nice a double as they could have because obviously
- 18:35Speaker 1: they could not be playing Liverpool. But it's actually really
- 18:37Speaker 1: nice that they've got that Lester fixture, isn't it.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So yeah, and they're two home games and they don't
- 18:41Speaker 3: have the League Cup in the middle, so they they
- 18:43Speaker 3: will have a little bit more rest time and preparation
- 18:45Speaker 3: time for that Liverpool game than Liverpool will because obviously
- 18:48Speaker 3: they've got both of the cup matches in between. So
- 18:52Speaker 3: I quite like it for you know.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Actually, when we.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Look at Everton over the last couple of seasons, in
- 18:56Speaker 3: those Merseyside Derby's, Everton have been fairly resilient.
- 19:00Speaker 1: They keep them quite tight, don't they. They're not like
- 19:02Speaker 1: runaway wins for Liverpool.
- 19:04Speaker 3: No, which worries me a little bit about, you know,
- 19:06Speaker 3: because I think a couple of weeks ago we'd have
- 19:08Speaker 3: all been like, yeah, okay, Bournemouth and Everton, let's fully
- 19:11Speaker 3: invest in Liverpool. And I still think that's the right
- 19:12Speaker 3: thing to do. But Everton will Bournemouth have proved over
- 19:15Speaker 3: the last couple of weeks that they're you know, they're
- 19:18Speaker 3: performing incredibly well right now, so I don't think they'll
- 19:21Speaker 3: be quite the pushover that well. Maybe would have expected
- 19:24Speaker 3: them to be earlier on in the season, but and
- 19:26Speaker 3: the same can be said about Everton. Those Merseyside dubies
- 19:28Speaker 3: historically are quite tight. So I think it's a reasonable
- 19:33Speaker 3: double game week if you want to go for a
- 19:34Speaker 3: defensive option at Everton.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, for me, it feels quite intriguing and quite an
- 19:38Speaker 1: exciting double game week, even if I probably wish Bournemouth
- 19:41Speaker 1: and Liverpool weren't playing that week. I wish Liverpool playing
- 19:44Speaker 1: someone else other than Bournemouth. I definitely think because Borne
- 19:46Speaker 1: was brilliant at the moment. As Jews said, it leads
- 19:48Speaker 1: us on quite nicely to chips for the next game
- 19:51Speaker 1: week because double game weeks are prime for us to
- 19:54Speaker 1: use our chips and we've almost got to plan a
- 19:56Speaker 1: little bit more than we would have in previous seasons.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Jewels because but of course got the system managers. Yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 1: the sistant managers were technically you can have three assistant managers,
- 20:05Speaker 1: couldn't you, because you could change it across the three
- 20:06Speaker 1: game weeks. That's right, is triple captain the obvious one.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I was just going to ask you an easy triple captain,
- 20:11Speaker 1: but I was trying to make it a wider conversation.
- 20:13Speaker 2: No, no, no, I think the triple captain could be tempted
- 20:15Speaker 2: for Mosala. But like you said that, there are two
- 20:17Speaker 2: difficult games and there would be a lot for you know,
- 20:20Speaker 2: the Liverpool will also play in between those two fixtures,
- 20:24Speaker 2: as we said against against Spurs in the leak ups
- 20:27Speaker 2: on the final second leg. So when you were talking
- 20:30Speaker 2: earlier about not jinxing anybody and not getting that put
- 20:33Speaker 2: in your team before he played that game in the
- 20:35Speaker 2: Champions League on Wednesday night, it could be the same.
- 20:37Speaker 2: We could lose one of our Liverpool assets through injury
- 20:39Speaker 2: halfway through this double game with two for example, so
- 20:42Speaker 2: we had before with Maney right exactly, absolutely, So you
- 20:46Speaker 2: can go for Salah and I think some people will.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And if you're maybe a bit behind and you want
- 20:50Speaker 2: you playing catch up with people in your mini leagues
- 20:52Speaker 2: or above you, it might not be a bad idea.
- 20:54Speaker 2: So I think that chip would be played quite a
- 20:58Speaker 2: lot with Mosala. We also know that it should be
- 21:02Speaker 2: more double game week down the line, even for Liverpool
- 21:05Speaker 2: if they make it to the Leakup Final for example.
- 21:07Speaker 2: As simple as that, So I'd be tempted to wait
- 21:11Speaker 2: for maybe better fixtures from a Liverpool point of view,
- 21:13Speaker 2: if they've got more double game work coming up.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you think, SALMONA, You don't have your
- 21:17Speaker 1: triple captain.
- 21:18Speaker 3: If you did, I think i'd play it. I just
- 21:22Speaker 3: think that the way that the doubles are likely to
- 21:24Speaker 3: pan out by the time the assistant manager takes three
- 21:28Speaker 3: game weeks out of your schedule where you can't play
- 21:31Speaker 3: another CHIP. So obviously we know that the other blanks
- 21:35Speaker 3: and doubles, unless something very unusual happens, the other blanks
- 21:38Speaker 3: and doubles will all come after game week thirty. So
- 21:41Speaker 3: if you think up from between game week thirty eight
- 21:43Speaker 3: and game week thirty you're going to need to fit
- 21:45Speaker 3: in potentially a wild card, three weeks of assistant manager Chip,
- 21:51Speaker 3: a bench boost and a free hit. And if you
- 21:54Speaker 3: then want to put in a triple captain as well,
- 21:58Speaker 3: then you are pretty much playing a CHIP every single
- 22:01Speaker 3: week for those last eight game weeks you'd have seven
- 22:05Speaker 3: weeks have taken up with chips, and I just think
- 22:07Speaker 3: that this is probably the assistant manager. You're probably going
- 22:11Speaker 3: to want to play on a double game week as well.
- 22:13Speaker 3: So if you play that thirty one through thirty three
- 22:15Speaker 3: or thirty six through thirty eight to hit one of
- 22:17Speaker 3: those doubles, then where's the Maybe you could play the
- 22:20Speaker 3: bench boost in a single game week, but the triple
- 22:23Speaker 3: captain then becomes a bit of a where do you
- 22:25Speaker 3: put it? So I guess the question is do you
- 22:27Speaker 3: do what I did and try and exploit a single
- 22:29Speaker 3: game week and wait for say Liverpool versus Southampton or
- 22:35Speaker 3: man City versus whoever, and play it on Harlan or
- 22:38Speaker 3: Salo in a single or do you go, all right, well,
- 22:41Speaker 3: it's not the best double game week in the world,
- 22:45Speaker 3: but nonetheless it's a double game week and Salad's going
- 22:49Speaker 3: to play in both of them, so I'll play it there,
- 22:51Speaker 3: which is why I think if I still had it,
- 22:53Speaker 3: I would I'd play it now because I can't see
- 22:55Speaker 3: a better opportunity later in a double I think the
- 22:59Speaker 3: other doubles you're going to have other chips active in.
- 23:01Speaker 3: It's Salah the only one you consider the trible captain
- 23:04Speaker 3: for Liverpool at the moment, Chowles, I.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Don't think so. I think Gakpoy is a great shot
- 23:08Speaker 2: of Gag boys in better from than Luisdias, for example.
- 23:10Speaker 2: But if you had sal let's not for I. Gues
- 23:12Speaker 2: Sala scored one goal in his last three Premier League games,
- 23:15Speaker 2: so it's not like if he scored six in three
- 23:17Speaker 2: or four in two and he was really really on
- 23:20Speaker 2: fire and unstopperboard. Obviously he's been through the season, so
- 23:24Speaker 2: he could definitely be back and score two against Bournemouth
- 23:26Speaker 2: and then a hat trick against Everton. That's not what
- 23:28Speaker 2: I'm saying, but right now it's one in three in
- 23:31Speaker 2: the Premier League for him. But at least he was
- 23:33Speaker 2: rested in midweek in the Champions League before the Bournemouth game,
- 23:37Speaker 2: he would play against Kerkiz who, as we've been saying,
- 23:40Speaker 2: is in great form, like the whole Bournemouth defense because A.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Barnie and Houston have done so well, even Cooker right
- 23:46Speaker 2: back and cape I in goal. Great So really interesting
- 23:50Speaker 2: to see Salah against that kind of team and Liverpool
- 23:54Speaker 2: overall against the team that is almost as intent, well
- 23:56Speaker 2: even more intense than them right now, which is rare
- 23:58Speaker 2: enough to say so it'd be good. But I think
- 24:02Speaker 2: Gakpoo would be a good shot too, if you think
- 24:04Speaker 2: that all the attention from a born with defensive point
- 24:06Speaker 2: of view will be on Salah and rightly so that
- 24:09Speaker 2: would maybe leave a bit more freedom for Dias who
- 24:11Speaker 2: would play as a nine or force nine because Darwin
- 24:14Speaker 2: New Zealand didn't play on Wednesday night either and Gackpo
- 24:17Speaker 2: on the left land side.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You're getting some excited there by the prospects of plenty
- 24:20Speaker 1: of Das points.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, she could play a triple captain on Diaz. Oh no, sorry, use.
- 24:26Speaker 1: That assistant manager wise, just a reminder, I think we've
- 24:30Speaker 1: mentioned it quite a few times. It does become available
- 24:33Speaker 1: in game week twenty four, and it's really interesting that
- 24:35Speaker 1: had it been available in the last game week twenty three,
- 24:37Speaker 1: David Moyes would have registered nineteen points. I'm wondering if,
- 24:41Speaker 1: given the fact that Everton had two positive results, people
- 24:44Speaker 1: are tempted to use it on Moys at this point, Sam,
- 24:48Speaker 1: because obviously they won't get the table bonus against Leicester,
- 24:50Speaker 1: but they would if they were to get anything against Liverpool.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Absolutely, And I think that's the thing, isn't it. With
- 24:55Speaker 3: the assistant manager Chip is that you have to exploit.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I think anyway you have to try and exploit the
- 25:00Speaker 3: table bonus. Now the other thing you could think about doing,
- 25:03Speaker 3: and it obviously is going to be very very team
- 25:05Speaker 3: dependent and whether how your team is set after the
- 25:08Speaker 3: League Cup semifinals play out, but you could feasibly play
- 25:12Speaker 3: it on Moy's this week and then move it for
- 25:15Speaker 3: game weeks twenty five and twenty six and to another
- 25:19Speaker 3: manager who could benefit from the table bonus. I think
- 25:23Speaker 3: it's really interesting to me how popular it's been because
- 25:26Speaker 3: I didn't see I didn't necessarily think it would be
- 25:30Speaker 3: as popular as it is this week. I thought people
- 25:32Speaker 3: would hold it for a little bit longer. I didn't
- 25:35Speaker 3: expect so many people to play it on slot either,
- 25:37Speaker 3: And I think that's interesting because obviously going to get
- 25:39Speaker 3: no bonus from him across any of these matches.
- 25:41Speaker 1: So have we got figures of how many people have
- 25:43Speaker 1: activated it at the moment.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Yeah, So it's currently active in five hundred and five
- 25:47Speaker 3: thousand teams, just over five hundred and five teams, So
- 25:51Speaker 3: it's like that's quite a substantial amount of managers. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 3: it's only bettered by the Triple captain, which is nearly
- 25:59Speaker 3: six hundred thousand have got that active right now. It's
- 26:01Speaker 3: going to be one of the highest chip weeks ever
- 26:04Speaker 3: in FPL this week, and obviously we kind of expect
- 26:07Speaker 3: that because we've got a new chip added into the
- 26:09Speaker 3: game which can be played this week, so I'm not
- 26:11Speaker 3: surprised to see it up there. But it has been
- 26:15Speaker 3: a big, a big play this week that people are
- 26:18Speaker 3: thinking about doing. It's tough because I just think that
- 26:22Speaker 3: later on you're going to have opportunities where that table
- 26:25Speaker 3: bonus can really come into its own. So if you
- 26:28Speaker 3: do want to go now go, I would still go
- 26:31Speaker 3: on Moois overslot. The other thing to remember is whichever
- 26:34Speaker 3: manager you activate the chip on, they have to be
- 26:37Speaker 3: your manager for the first game week if they if
- 26:39Speaker 3: they're not, you then have to take a minus four
- 26:41Speaker 3: to change them. It's like making a transfer. So I
- 26:45Speaker 3: think you know, there's a lot of managers that have
- 26:48Speaker 3: bought in a manager and already made a change to
- 26:51Speaker 3: another manager, so that's either used up a free transfer
- 26:53Speaker 3: or cost them four points.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Oh wow. So it's like if I bought in Cody
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yacpo and then decided I actually wanted Chris World. Yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 1: someone else in my team. It's like, okay, Yeah.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So it's not like the wild card or the free
- 27:05Speaker 3: hit where you can just move around until you're settled
- 27:08Speaker 3: and you're happy with this one you do. You have
- 27:12Speaker 3: to make it decisione the player.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Isn't it like having a play? Yeah? Exactly.
- 27:16Speaker 3: And I think that's caught a few managers out. I
- 27:18Speaker 3: think people were expecting to be able to potentially just
- 27:21Speaker 3: you move around until it locks in for the game week.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I wish we could do that with normal players. One
- 27:27Speaker 1: that would be good, wouldn't it If I would have
- 27:29Speaker 1: Gagpo and Pickford at the weekend, and then I would
- 27:31Speaker 1: have been fine, but I had the safety there.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 1: It gets rid of jeopardy a little bit, doesn't it. Yeah. Okay.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Also a reminder that we will know by the end
- 27:39Speaker 1: of game week twenty four which teams blank in game
- 27:41Speaker 1: week twenty nine for the League Cup finals. That will
- 27:43Speaker 1: help that long term planning a little bit more as well. Again,
- 27:46Speaker 1: the single game week players, I think we could cut
- 27:50Speaker 1: and paste the same thing I say every season ahead
- 27:52Speaker 1: of every single double game week. Don't forget the single
- 27:55Speaker 1: game week players. They can outscore them. They probably will
- 27:57Speaker 1: outscore them, and all of that chat will have just
- 27:59Speaker 1: had their well look a bit silly because we'll have
- 28:01Speaker 1: got excited, and then Chris Wood will go and out
- 28:03Speaker 1: aul all of them or someone I don't know. I'm
- 28:06Speaker 1: just using Chris works. I'm probably going to sell him,
- 28:07Speaker 1: so he probably will outhoul all of them. Who stands
- 28:11Speaker 1: out here from the single game weeks this week, Jos.
- 28:14Speaker 2: The usual suspects. Really, there's no reason for us to
- 28:17Speaker 2: not keep faith in alex And the Eastside for example,
- 28:20Speaker 2: or Morgan Rogers. We said Rogers was on fire in
- 28:22Speaker 2: the Champions League in midweek with with Villain celticscoring a
- 28:25Speaker 2: hat trick looking great again and especially with Villa and
- 28:29Speaker 2: all the transfer rumors of Mary go around around around
- 28:34Speaker 2: John Duran and only Watkins. Is great to see Rogers
- 28:37Speaker 2: in that kind of form. That's the first thing. Cort
- 28:39Speaker 2: Palmer didn't really happen for him in Chelsea's last game
- 28:43Speaker 2: against Wolves on Monday night against the City sorry on
- 28:46Speaker 2: Sunday last weekend, but it's still called Palmer and you're
- 28:50Speaker 2: not You're not going to not have cor Palmer in
- 28:52Speaker 2: your team either. So really, from from the players that
- 28:54Speaker 2: we have, we just have one game. It's only really
- 28:58Speaker 2: just Everton and you know, and and Liverpool that you
- 29:00Speaker 2: focus on in terms of double game week and mostly
- 29:04Speaker 2: and for the others it's just a I think normal service.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Really do you agree?
- 29:09Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean I think normally we would look
- 29:12Speaker 3: and go, okay, where is Southampton where a Leicester were
- 29:16Speaker 3: an ipswitch. But of course this week Ipswich and Southampton
- 29:19Speaker 3: play each other, so that makes it a little bit
- 29:21Speaker 3: more complex. And Leicester have that game against Everton, who
- 29:24Speaker 3: are already probably investing in anyway because they've got a
- 29:26Speaker 3: double game week. Outside of that, I think George is right.
- 29:30Speaker 3: I think the usual suspects absolutely remain regardless of the
- 29:33Speaker 3: fixtures that they have. I think there's another couple that
- 29:35Speaker 3: you could go with. I quite like Chaaliber if you
- 29:38Speaker 3: want to Chelsea defender. Obviously, he's got four attacking returns,
- 29:41Speaker 3: three goals and assist so far this season. Chelsea fixtures
- 29:44Speaker 3: look nice up until game week twenty nine, so could
- 29:47Speaker 3: be a decent enough hold. Obviously it's west Ham, Brighton, Villa,
- 29:50Speaker 3: Southampton and Leicester that he's got over the next few
- 29:52Speaker 3: weeks attacking throughout. Potential for some clean sheets there. I
- 29:55Speaker 3: think Brumford are really good buyers this week. You know,
- 29:58Speaker 3: if you want to go for an.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Jeels, Yeah you're crying.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I can see you're crying.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Genuinely random ends back in training there. It's made me
- 30:06Speaker 3: so happy. Enbomo and Whista, both of them, I think
- 30:10Speaker 3: nice options like and and Again they are the sort
- 30:13Speaker 3: of players that most managers would be looking at this week,
- 30:16Speaker 3: but because there's a double game week, they probably won't,
- 30:18Speaker 3: so could easily be the ones that actually really return
- 30:23Speaker 3: quite well. They normally do that. The Brentford's Birds game
- 30:26Speaker 3: is usually quite high scoring, and I suspect that might
- 30:29Speaker 3: be the case again, So both of those two really
- 30:32Speaker 3: nice options, really nice holds for a relatively long term
- 30:35Speaker 3: as well. So bracket them in with single game weeks.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Not to ignore. Okay, yeah, don't don't forget the single
- 30:41Speaker 1: game week is differential of the week. Then I reminded
- 30:45Speaker 1: us his players under ten percent buy it.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Why did you not follow your own But it's a
- 30:52Speaker 3: week two though, Jewels, you were buying a little bool.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I just thought, I just thought he's dodging. I didn't even.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Finish my intest. I got completely ruled because you started
- 31:03Speaker 1: to celebrating, celebrated it. Different shows are under ten percent
- 31:07Speaker 1: owned each week Sam and Jews if you don't listen
- 31:09Speaker 1: to this podcast readily, they pick a player that they
- 31:12Speaker 1: think is going to score big. Last week, Jewl's got
- 31:15Speaker 1: it right. He went with Nat got five points, yet
- 31:17Speaker 1: he bought in Van Dyke. Sam went from a testa
- 31:21Speaker 1: who are and Jewles did both bring in but he
- 31:23Speaker 1: just got two points. Jews, that's three returns, well returns
- 31:27Speaker 1: even from your last three different shows.
- 31:29Speaker 2: What kind of That's why I do, That's why I do.
- 31:31Speaker 2: You know, there's luck all that Linton disaster Bolton. I
- 31:36Speaker 2: should never picked Brazilians anyway. So yeah, Conati great pick.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I should have brought him in my team. I said
- 31:43Speaker 2: to him that I would. It would be my differential
- 31:45Speaker 2: this week. I don't think he's so that I didn't
- 31:47Speaker 2: into my team, but it doesn't matter so much. I
- 31:50Speaker 2: still love him. Uh and to be fair, I hope
- 31:52Speaker 2: his knee gets much much much better straight away because
- 31:56Speaker 2: he you know, he deserves to be fit. So yeah,
- 31:59Speaker 2: that was really good.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Okay, here's the difference with this week's Sorry sorry, so
- 32:03Speaker 1: you get to go first because you wont yeah, of.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Course, of course. Sorry I've mentioned him already, but I
- 32:07Speaker 2: went for illman Aji the double game with helping obviously,
- 32:10Speaker 2: but also the good form. We said, two goals in
- 32:12Speaker 2: his last two Promi League games. He's four in his
- 32:14Speaker 2: last seven in all competitions, which is pretty good. He
- 32:19Speaker 2: would cost you five from five million. He's owned by
- 32:21Speaker 2: only three point six percent of the managers. It's not
- 32:24Speaker 2: from Paris. It's a bit of a problem.
- 32:26Speaker 1: How dare he.
- 32:29Speaker 2: And especially being from Marseille and a Marseille fan, I
- 32:32Speaker 2: was a bit reluctant, but still I would flag the
- 32:36Speaker 2: flag of Ilimanendi because I think it's interesting and against
- 32:42Speaker 2: Leicester I expect him to really do well return and
- 32:44Speaker 2: for Liverpool it might be a more of a defensive
- 32:47Speaker 2: performance from him, but I still think he could get
- 32:49Speaker 2: something on the counter even against Liverpool.
- 32:51Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I quite like that pick. You gonna
- 32:53Speaker 1: bring him in?
- 32:55Speaker 2: No, because I did got for instead of him, I
- 32:57Speaker 2: can't like. I don't have that many free transfers anymore.
- 33:00Speaker 1: It's quite fun though, when you do it, Yeah it is.
- 33:02Speaker 2: I love doing it because you know, it's that's the
- 33:05Speaker 2: idea of the game too.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Sam, here you going with su bos life like Geors,
- 33:10Speaker 3: I kind of thought that I would follow the double
- 33:12Speaker 3: game weekers, and again probably not the right decision. Single
- 33:15Speaker 3: game week I was gonna say, there's us just in
- 33:17Speaker 3: this whole don't forget the single game week is Oh.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Scrap that we're going to pick differently.
- 33:21Speaker 2: You didn't even have to.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'd just like to point out I didn't tell you
- 33:24Speaker 1: had to pick a differential from Liverpool everthing. You could
- 33:26Speaker 1: have fixed differential for any Premier League team.
- 33:28Speaker 3: I know, and I thought that last night as I
- 33:31Speaker 3: was making my notes and I was thinking, oh do
- 33:33Speaker 3: I go for a single game weeker, and then I
- 33:35Speaker 3: just thought, oh, well, it's an opportunity, isn't it to
- 33:37Speaker 3: go for a Liverpool double game weeker. So Subosli is
- 33:41Speaker 3: six point three million, he is only onn by two
- 33:44Speaker 3: point three percent of the game, so a nice differentialal there.
- 33:47Speaker 3: He's got two double digitals in his last five matches,
- 33:49Speaker 3: although one of those matches he got injured in he
- 33:51Speaker 3: played for like twelve minutes, So two double digitals in
- 33:53Speaker 3: four really, And in the last three game weeks he's
- 33:56Speaker 3: had fourteen attempts on goal, which is more than any
- 33:58Speaker 3: other midfielder in the game, including Salah who's had twelve,
- 34:02Speaker 3: he's in second. He's also created five chances for his
- 34:04Speaker 3: teammates in those two matches, and in those last three
- 34:08Speaker 3: games he hasn't expected to go a tally of one
- 34:10Speaker 3: point four that's bigger than both Salah and Dias. So
- 34:13Speaker 3: Salah's was one point sorry, was zero point eight to
- 34:16Speaker 3: eight and Dias is zero point eighty six. So he
- 34:20Speaker 3: is actually, you know, doing quite well and his attacking
- 34:23Speaker 3: numbers have looked decent. Now we have said that it's
- 34:25Speaker 3: two defenses that have been secure of late, and you
- 34:28Speaker 3: know it's two difficult fixtures, but does have the underlying
- 34:31Speaker 3: numbers there and also was one of those that got
- 34:33Speaker 3: the full rest for the Champions League, so was an
- 34:36Speaker 3: opportunity to go for doubler and so we went there.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Is he an option? Do you think if you are
- 34:41Speaker 1: looking for another Liverpool attacker and maybe you don't want
- 34:44Speaker 1: to go with Gagpol you don't quite have faith and
- 34:46Speaker 1: do as this form.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I think he's a budget option. I think if you've
- 34:49Speaker 3: got a midfielder slot free, then he's a budget option.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I think my issue with him, which probably I shouldn't say,
- 34:55Speaker 3: given I just picked him as my differential for.
- 34:57Speaker 1: This, sorry undo all the good way.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, but my issue with him is
- 35:01Speaker 3: probably that he is He's definitely going to be a
- 35:03Speaker 3: one week maybe keeping for Wolves, but after that he's
- 35:07Speaker 3: definitely then going to be a cell again because potentially
- 35:09Speaker 3: the blank in twenty nine you're going to want to
- 35:11Speaker 3: use that midfielder slot somewhere else whereas I think if
- 35:13Speaker 3: you've got a Das or a Gagpo then maybe they
- 35:16Speaker 3: are slightly more longer term holds. Just the form right
- 35:19Speaker 3: now for Sabosla has been has been excellent, so picking him,
- 35:23Speaker 3: but I think if it's a punt, if I was
- 35:26Speaker 3: free hitting this week, I might be tempted.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah that's good, but do you think people will free hit?
- 35:30Speaker 1: So we didn't mention that in the chips. Is is
- 35:32Speaker 1: it a good week to free hit? Um?
- 35:34Speaker 3: There's sixty nine thousand three hits active at the moment.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So probably not.
- 35:39Speaker 3: I think you're better off to wait for one of
- 35:42Speaker 3: the latter blank game weeks around the FA Cup would
- 35:45Speaker 3: be my advice. But if you want to try and
- 35:48Speaker 3: exploit a double then you can. It's just not necessarily
- 35:53Speaker 3: I think all that's going to happen is you're free
- 35:54Speaker 3: hitting players that people have already got, So you've probably
- 35:57Speaker 3: already got at least one or two Liverpool assets.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Then you're only adding one.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Are you really going to get three Everton players if
- 36:05Speaker 3: you're free hitting? Probably not, So I think you can
- 36:08Speaker 3: wait for a better game. We can exploit the free
- 36:10Speaker 3: hit better then.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. Then and just taking a look at the
- 36:14Speaker 1: exhale spreadsheet that Sam makes with the differentials because I
- 36:18Speaker 1: just big jewels up. Then saying he's got his last
- 36:20Speaker 1: three although I just know I can't. I don't do
- 36:22Speaker 1: maths correctly. So he's had more successful picks than I've
- 36:24Speaker 1: given him, thank you, okay, Wante, he's had ten five, seven, eight,
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yes he has okay, see you. No, No, it's ten all.
- 36:34Speaker 1: It's ten for successful picks, successful picks.
- 36:37Speaker 2: It makes me feel good.
- 36:38Speaker 1: But Sam is ahead in terms of points. He's got
- 36:40Speaker 1: one hundred and eleven points from her differentials. You've only
- 36:43Speaker 1: got eighty nine. But you needed the last three game weeks,
- 36:46Speaker 1: is all I'm saying, because you were struggling before the
- 36:49Speaker 1: four wins from five.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly.
- 36:52Speaker 1: There's the first few weeks though, guys, where both of
- 36:54Speaker 1: you have got no point.
- 36:55Speaker 3: We actually I need to really up my games, so
- 36:57Speaker 3: I need to really do There's one too.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Lillm an anger is going to win this week again
- 37:02Speaker 2: the six.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Game Okay, it's six game weeks where not either of
- 37:05Speaker 1: you picked a successful one, all right, but that hasn't
- 37:09Speaker 1: been for five game weeks now, so you are improving
- 37:12Speaker 1: between you gradually. Let's end on transfers and captains then,
- 37:16Speaker 1: I mean captain most Salah Mos.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Salah and possible triple captain. Yeah, definitely, So Joe was
- 37:25Speaker 2: what are you going to do captain Salah? I'm not
- 37:28Speaker 2: sure about the triple captain, I said, but Sam made
- 37:30Speaker 2: a really good case for it, so I just wait
- 37:33Speaker 2: and then see.
- 37:34Speaker 1: How You're worried about his lack of goals though in
- 37:35Speaker 1: recent week a little.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Bit and Sam just read his egg on the last
- 37:40Speaker 2: three games, was it? Yeah, which is not much really
- 37:43Speaker 2: when you think when you're Mosalla and when you're when
- 37:46Speaker 2: you're Liverpool. So I'll see. But yeah, I might be
- 37:49Speaker 2: still tempted by by Sam's case to to play just
- 37:52Speaker 2: I'm playing catch up as well as you know, because
- 37:54Speaker 2: it hasn't been great, So why not? Yeah? Definitely, Sam.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Can you you can see how many people have axed
- 37:59Speaker 1: faith Triple Cup and can you see who they're back
- 38:01Speaker 1: based it on?
- 38:02Speaker 3: No, no, I can't see that, but I can. I
- 38:06Speaker 3: imagine that nearly all of them are on Salah.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, pick fist, Yeah imagine, I see I was injured.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Gag poy might have a few. I have a few.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:20Speaker 3: I mean I was actually really worried that you were
- 38:23Speaker 3: both going to ship a captain Salad this week because
- 38:25Speaker 3: it could easily just I am, yeah, well you I
- 38:28Speaker 3: think you'll be ahead of me by the time next week.
- 38:32Speaker 2: I mean, you have to do it. I don't think my.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Little girl doesn't. She gets excited and get my legs
- 38:41Speaker 1: are going like that. I thought of being ahead of
- 38:42Speaker 1: saved for one game week. What a loser. Way too
- 38:45Speaker 1: excited about that. Oh so you're just trying to look
- 38:47Speaker 1: me in. You just want me to have used my
- 38:48Speaker 1: trouble captain to get it out.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Of the way.
- 38:49Speaker 1: I need to calm down. I need to realize this
- 38:53Speaker 1: is all mine games now. I'm not I's doing I
- 38:55Speaker 1: might become we might become teeny and over here.
- 38:58Speaker 3: He will definitely be ahead of me, he be top
- 39:00Speaker 3: of them.
- 39:00Speaker 2: And do you regret having played your.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Say, do you regret putting in the Do I regret
- 39:10Speaker 1: playing it?
- 39:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Sure, be honest.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you've said that you would play this game week
- 39:16Speaker 1: if you had it, so you must regret it. Well,
- 39:18Speaker 1: I mean yes, but.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Yes clearly because he because I had it on Harlan
- 39:24Speaker 3: and he just got a goal. But equally, like I
- 39:27Speaker 3: just I don't think you can, Like you can't really
- 39:30Speaker 3: regret them, isn't it? It was back in October, Like
- 39:36Speaker 3: I'm waiting for it by now, like I don't know.
- 39:38Speaker 2: We're bringing up against me and case we play, we
- 39:43Speaker 2: play silent triple captain this week, this game, this double
- 39:46Speaker 2: game week, and then if he does well, this is
- 39:49Speaker 2: coming back to haunt you.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Also, it's part of me that wants to so why
- 39:52Speaker 1: doesn't it just one of us triple captain and then
- 39:54Speaker 1: we can can tip we can have the triple captain
- 39:55Speaker 1: chat again later in the season and keeping through and.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Keep haunting you. Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I hate you both. If I'm honest, I think both
- 40:03Speaker 1: me angels will get the fear and triple caps. It'll
- 40:05Speaker 1: be over with if projectings for.
- 40:08Speaker 3: It's going to be a horrendous game week if you
- 40:09Speaker 3: don't play a chip like I'm not planning to pay
- 40:11Speaker 3: any chips, and with that many triple captains and assistant
- 40:14Speaker 3: manager chips active my arrow, whatever happens will be read.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure of that. I don't know if it's
- 40:21Speaker 1: mind games. Okay, then let's talk about transfers, because you've
- 40:25Speaker 1: both gone early, is that right?
- 40:27Speaker 2: No?
- 40:27Speaker 1: Oh, no, Sam hasn't because she's got the goalkeepet. So
- 40:29Speaker 1: you've gone Gakpo for who Jules.
- 40:32Speaker 2: No Wood for Gakpo oh be bought in Gap.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry, I said that way around.
- 40:36Speaker 2: In Yeah, I saw would then brought in Gap.
- 40:39Speaker 1: That's the most popular transfer this week by some distance.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Over one hundred and forty one thousand managers have done that. Interestingly,
- 40:46Speaker 1: in terms of the popular transfer combinations, Gakpo features in
- 40:49Speaker 1: all six of the top six. He's been sold most
- 40:52Speaker 1: popularly for Wood as I mentioned, then for Raw him
- 40:54Speaker 1: and is, then Joel Pedro, then Nicholas Jackson and then
- 40:57Speaker 1: Kunya then and dies in after that with people bringing
- 41:01Speaker 1: him in for Raoul, and then people already are selling
- 41:03Speaker 1: Mateta and bringing Gapo as well. There's some real double
- 41:06Speaker 1: game week fear there. I can I can smell it.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Sam, What are you going to do? Take a big
- 41:16Speaker 3: So I wanted to do Vandenberg out for Mikkelenko. That
- 41:21Speaker 3: was the transfer I've been planning a week, but.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Raya.
- 41:26Speaker 3: It might now be Raya to Pickford, which is actually
- 41:28Speaker 3: one of the most popular transfer combinations anyway. So whatever happens,
- 41:32Speaker 3: some kind of Everton defensive person will be arriving in
- 41:35Speaker 3: my team. It would either be person yeah, it will
- 41:38Speaker 3: either be the goalkeeper, it will be a defender. Like
- 41:40Speaker 3: I'm I'm not entirely sure which one. I'd rather do
- 41:44Speaker 3: Mikeelenko and keep Raya. I think I annoyingly don't have
- 41:47Speaker 3: the money in the bank to do Fabianski to Pickford.
- 41:50Speaker 3: If I had the money to do Fabianski to pick
- 41:52Speaker 3: with That's what I would do, But I don't have
- 41:54Speaker 3: the budget for that, So it's going to have to
- 41:56Speaker 3: be the I've got one transfer again, Yeah, because I've
- 41:58Speaker 3: had to do with Slankey last week, didn't I remember,
- 42:01Speaker 3: like these constant injuries, I'm bound to get an injury
- 42:03Speaker 3: as well this double game week, so I think probably
- 42:06Speaker 3: I'll end up playing it safe. I do not want
- 42:08Speaker 3: to be going into this double game week already down
- 42:10Speaker 3: because I'm not playing a chip and then not have
- 42:12Speaker 3: a goalkeeper, because that would.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Be a disaster.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Why you are not flagged on the game.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I don't know, Probably will be because I don't believe Arteta.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Probably probably just because we're recording this a little bit
- 42:25Speaker 3: too early and they've not done that day after last night.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Okay, well, have you got Bryer as well?
- 42:30Speaker 2: No?
- 42:30Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I was just wondering because, like, obviously we know why
- 42:33Speaker 2: he didn't play against the Champion League in mid week,
- 42:36Speaker 2: But is it just is he really an injury and
- 42:39Speaker 2: is he really I wish I mean, since I've revealed
- 42:44Speaker 2: that as like I admitted that left Salivan the bench
- 42:46Speaker 2: would be fair to the game. I'm not going to
- 42:48Speaker 2: tell you anything anyway, brilliant, Thanks right.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It's the point of having you here. Get a new
- 42:54Speaker 1: julianaar On next week, someone less annoying, someone that actually
- 42:59Speaker 1: gives him fo that they know. Yeah, let's get someone
- 43:01Speaker 1: that's a bit better. Fbl.
- 43:03Speaker 2: You criticized me for being fair. That never happened to me.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'm never fair when I never do that. No, I'm
- 43:09Speaker 2: never fair usually this time, Jees, is that the.
- 43:12Speaker 1: One transfer you're making?
- 43:13Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, how many do you have? That's that's
- 43:16Speaker 2: that was the only one I had this week. Then
