- 0:13Now let's get to this week's show.
- 0:24My wallet is sobbing. I can hear it.
- 0:27I can hear it in the hall. Now it is breaking down crying.
- 0:32Wait a minute, it's Valentine's week guys.
- 0:36We can't be doing our normal intro.
- 1:10Forbidden love. Unrequited love.
- 1:13Arranged love. Practical love, alliances.
- 1:17Love. Well, you get the idea.
- 1:19Mythos is a place full of love. Some romantic, some not, but
- 1:23love nonetheless. Let's head on a journey into
- 1:26this not often seen side of Mythos.
- 1:42There we go. It's the week of love.
- 1:44Valentine's Week, beautifully introduced there by Rich.
- 1:49We're going to talk about love in the land of mythos.
- 1:53What does it mean? Does it exist?
- 1:55Who does it encompass? Who's?
- 1:58Who's involved in it? Maybe they're all involved,
- 2:01maybe nobody's involved, Maybe it's a loveless land.
- 2:03This would be a pretty short show then, you know?
- 2:05But yeah, then we can talk about some other stuff.
- 2:07But first let's let's have a let's fade down Mr. Valentine
- 2:11there and let's have a little chat about the news and, well,
- 2:15firstly, let's say hello to Malcolm Kennedy.
- 2:17How are you man? Hello.
- 2:19I am all right. The very back end, the last
- 2:23dying embers of a bit of a cold. But other than that, I'm all
- 2:27right. Very.
- 2:28Good. And rich another.
- 2:29We had man flu in the camp this week.
- 2:31We had two men down, man. 'S flu took me out big time.
- 2:33Yeah, I was off work sick yesterday, but back at it today
- 2:37and and full of beans. Very good.
- 2:39Unfortunately, yesterday was Valentine's Day, which meant I
- 2:41couldn't get a card or anything else.
- 2:43Sort of good baby wife. So I was in the doghouse.
- 2:46But she still showed you. She showed you up by getting you
- 2:49a card, even though she knew you weren't able to get hurt.
- 2:51Garden chocolates, yeah. Although you should have been
- 2:53prepared from like a week out, you know, if you were really
- 2:56doing your job. That's neither here nor there,
- 2:59John. Let's not have that sort of
- 3:00talk, please. This is a podcast about love.
- 3:03You know, so I'm just giving you some advice for next year.
- 3:08Many years ago we went away for Valentine's and I wrote her card
- 3:12Valentine morning, I asked her to turn around.
- 3:14She couldn't see what I was writing and then wrote her card.
- 3:16So anything pretty much is better than that.
- 3:19Well, as I say to my wife, you know about Valentine's Day.
- 3:21Every day is Valentine's Day, honey.
- 3:23Why should we celebrate a particular day?
- 3:26She's always a lucky lady, a John.
- 3:28Exactly. Yeah.
- 3:29Well, let's see. I'll get her on here once to ask
- 3:31her the question and she can tell you all God help me God
- 3:39help me right. So a little bit of news in the
- 3:44land of mythic legions this week and and and maybe figure Obscura
- 3:49cosmic lesions as well. The first thing was they
- 3:55announced the in stock state date we said February all along
- 3:58and that was going on what they said so we weren't kind of
- 4:01guessing you know and thankfully it still is February so it's
- 4:06going to be when they're at Zonacon I believe that's in the
- 4:10end the 24th of February at 11 EST.
- 4:15So I make that at 4:00 PM UK and 5:00 PM in Central European
- 4:20time. So mark it in your Diaries get
- 4:23ready and they're going to have an in stock sale of large number
- 4:28of figures and no purchase limits that's that was good to
- 4:31hear guys. I think that kind of reduces the
- 4:35complication a bit, you know, if they had limits on.
- 4:38It shows they've got, sorry Rich.
- 4:40Yeah, it shows they've got a lot of stock, doesn't it?
- 4:42Because they had what, 12 from the 1st, 24 hours last time they
- 4:45did this. So to get rid of it completely,
- 4:46they obviously got a ton of stock.
- 4:48Yeah, Well, yeah, they have this, I suppose they have a
- 4:50full, would you say consignment of of these reinforcement
- 4:55builders, you know, to cater for the, you know, this is going to
- 5:00be the size of a normal wave. I guess so yeah.
- 5:03They just want people to be able to get as many as they can.
- 5:05They don't, I think once they don't sell out in an hour or you
- 5:09know, I think they're safe with no limits, you know, and they
- 5:13obviously have the bandwidth the The thing is not going to crash.
- 5:16So I shouldn't anyway. And yeah, so and then.
- 5:21Say that I'm going to be, I'm going to be outside of Wi-Fi,
- 5:24I'm up in there in North Wales all day on 4G, so just cross for
- 5:29me, everybody. Hopefully I'll be able to get.
- 5:31If it goes pear shaped bring me a message and and yeah, well, at
- 5:34least I can get figures for you and ship them across.
- 5:37Yes or even Mal. Yeah and right and yeah the the
- 5:43purchase limits. Always.
- 5:44It's just a nightmare for if you want say three nights and
- 5:48nothing else then you're not going to pay shipping on one
- 5:53figure to Europe you know so you're just out.
- 5:56Whereas if you want three or four nights and you can get them
- 6:01with the shipping, it'll be worth your while, you know,
- 6:03rather than having to kind of, you know, I don't know, maybe go
- 6:07in with someone else or something like that.
- 6:09Just reduces the complication big time I think anyway.
- 6:13And that is always on the assumption that there isn't
- 6:15really tiny stock of the kind of main attractions which there
- 6:18shouldn't be and they are in well in the order on the
- 6:21website. I don't think it's any
- 6:22particular order, but it's Valiant Night.
- 6:26Walter the mad mythic and cosmic Vargas 2.
- 6:30So they're the Legions, cons, the standard versions.
- 6:33Demestrios, the standard version.
- 6:36We did see him on the shelves at that.
- 6:41What? What was the con last week in
- 6:44Florida Megacon that they were? At Megacon, Yeah.
- 6:47Uh, we saw it on the shelf there of the street team that they
- 6:50were with the Slap Happy Toys guys.
- 6:53The entire wave of reinforcements too so that's
- 6:56that's pretty cool and and then the entire wave of the deluxe
- 7:01legion, bigger builders which have been hanging around
- 7:04retailers I think even still a lot in a lot of places and there
- 7:08was sale on them I think a couple of months ago wasn't
- 7:13there where they were basically being sold at 1520% off which is
- 7:17basically yeah it was it was up to.
- 7:20The end of December at 20% off. There you go.
- 7:23Yeah. So they they're obviously still
- 7:24floating through the system and they obviously want them gone.
- 7:28All Stars trolls. So that's a handy one for you is
- 7:32Rich. I believe you got your first and
- 7:34only troll you said this week. I did.
- 7:36I bought one off of Auk eBay seller.
- 7:39He was selling Brunt the All Star version of Brontos.
- 7:42Very good. So I leapt on that.
- 7:43And you got it for the only. One I've ever wanted.
- 7:45Decent price? £100 which included postage.
- 7:49Yeah, the You're not going to get a better.
- 7:52The box was a bit beater. But I don't care about box.
- 7:54So, yeah, exactly. Yeah, you're going to, you're
- 7:56going to throw the box and then select figures from All Stars
- 8:01for and a Lithia, I think, especially a Lithia that could
- 8:04be interesting for a lot of people there that maybe missed
- 8:07out. It depends what they are.
- 8:08But I think if they had some Valax and some barren Volligars
- 8:13and some Krotoses, that would be very interesting in my opinion.
- 8:16Yeah, Jeremy answered somebody's question.
- 8:19Somebody asked about Older and Phobus and he said they've sold
- 8:23out of all already, so there'll be none of those, but they've
- 8:26got some Phobus. I saw somebody maybe suggesting
- 8:29the that well for our next bit and use the retailer wave that
- 8:32maybe older could be could be a candidate for their, although
- 8:37it'd be tricky with chipping. And yeah so also Vargh I think
- 8:43would be a good one for that for that Lithia wave.
- 8:47That's a great, good one. Yeah.
- 8:49A lot of, yeah. I ended up with two.
- 8:50Unique parts and I. Ended up with too many Boggs and
- 8:52sold like two or three, but not in the last couple of days.
- 8:55I'd be like, oh, I could use that for that and that.
- 8:57Damn it. Yeah, but if you have them and
- 8:59they're, you know, it was a kind of a, it's a deluxe figure.
- 9:02So if you needed to get your cash flow, it was a good one to
- 9:05sell, isn't it? And it was going for a bit over
- 9:09maybe what what it. Was a little bit, not much, no,
- 9:11But it was going, it was going quickly, which was handy.
- 9:14Yeah, exactly. So that's, that's that.
- 9:17What are you going for boys then in this Have you?
- 9:19Have you, I mean, not down to the last figure, but have you a
- 9:21general idea of what you're getting or?
- 9:24Shall I go first? Because it looks like you're
- 9:25accessing. Your you go first, man.
- 9:27I'm open my. Spreadsheet He's spreadsheeting
- 9:29I'm. Not going to.
- 9:30I'm not going to get a lot. I could do with another bogus
- 9:35couple of valiant nights, although I'd kind of like more.
- 9:38But I just can't afford to get a load at the moment.
- 9:40And then I want a couple of Cosmic Walters because I just
- 9:44love the color of his suit. Yeah, I don't.
- 9:48It feels weird calling it armor for Cosmic, but you know.
- 9:51Yeah, he's I love that orange, the orange spacesuit.
- 9:54OK, cool. And Rich.
- 9:58So my plan at the moment, and this may change because it's
- 10:00changed a couple of times already, but it's going to be
- 10:04four of the Cosmic Walters. I've got a plan for a little
- 10:08little space faction that I want to use.
- 10:09Four of those four, three of those four, and then one for
- 10:12another character, a couple of the Waltor Mythic figure again.
- 10:17I've got a couple of plans for that.
- 10:19One of them is going to be an undead dragon, 2 Templar relic
- 10:23guards. I've avoided, Jeremy Gerard's
- 10:25dangling temptation to have a group of 12.
- 10:28I'm just going to stick to four because I've got a couple
- 10:30already. So I'll go for two of those. 4
- 10:33Gold Knights, 5 Cavern dwarfs. Possibly a valley at night but
- 10:38possibly not an ogre because Jason Rodriguez put out a really
- 10:43good ogre sculpt a couple of weeks back and I saw Alejandro
- 10:49Soldier, I think his name is Paint One up.
- 10:53It's got like big spikes coming out the side of its head that's
- 10:56going to look brilliant on that couple of shadow walks. 3 silver
- 11:01horns. And if you're on play channel
- 11:04Pear Tree, yeah. Three August twos and a couple
- 11:07of demistrios. So it's about low 30s number of
- 11:10figures. Wow.
- 11:11It's the current plan. Have you got a little nest eggs
- 11:14aside for that? Or let's say yes, it's.
- 11:23My nervous voice. Yeah.
- 11:25Let's just say yes on that one. Yeah.
- 11:27Very Good Wife Scapula sounds like.
- 11:29That, yeah. So for me, I'd like to get 4
- 11:36valiant nights and I'd like to get a one or two of the the
- 11:41Walters, a demistrios, because I don't have him at all.
- 11:46And after that, I think it will just maybe depend on what comes
- 11:52with the Olivia stuff, the Bryophytis maybe just for the
- 12:00crack. And then I had a couple of
- 12:02because I offered before UH in the European group, if anyone
- 12:05wants to go in UH, on one big order, I offered a couple of, a
- 12:11couple of people contacted me and said that yeah, they
- 12:13wouldn't mind doing it for the reinforcements.
- 12:16So they did message me at the time.
- 12:18So I just need to touch base with them again and say if
- 12:21they're still on for it and what they want and then I'll order
- 12:24what they need. I was hoping there'd be no
- 12:27purchase limits because then otherwise that would be
- 12:29impossible. You know, if someone wanted
- 12:32three nights and then you can't get them, you can only get
- 12:36three, you know, or two or whatever.
- 12:38So I'll touch base with them and see what they want, and then
- 12:41that might also make my mind up to get one or two extra,
- 12:44depending if it doesn't mess with the shipping, you know?
- 12:47Yeah, So let's see. Yeah, you hit certain points,
- 12:51don't you, where adding a couple of extra figures adds like a
- 12:53dollar to the shipping or something.
- 12:54It's just like well. Yeah, exactly.
- 12:56Especially for these type of sales where there isn't an all
- 12:59in or anything, or if you're stick to the standard size
- 13:02figures when you throw ogres and stuff in the mix, it can get
- 13:08messy with the shipping. I think it was fours and eights,
- 13:12if I remember rightly, from Chris's, he said.
- 13:16He did tell us Once Upon a time what it.
- 13:18Was. And I'm sure it was fours and
- 13:20eights. So if you order five, you're
- 13:23better off ordering. It might have been.
- 13:25No, it's that. I'm sure it's fours and eights
- 13:27because it was like, well, if you order five, you're better
- 13:29off ordering 8 because because you're gonna pay for the same
- 13:33postage anyway. That's true.
- 13:35As box, that's true. Yeah.
- 13:37So let's see that's the in stock sales.
- 13:39So that's how. It used to be.
- 13:41That's exciting. And then they announced the
- 13:44retailer Wave. I think I'm more excited about
- 13:47this bit, to be honest. More, I want to save my money
- 13:49for these based on the last time round.
- 13:52Yeah, exactly for So they announced the retailer Wave for
- 13:57this year and the first figure they revealed today.
- 14:01Recording Thursday, late recording.
- 14:03As I said, bit of man flew in the camp, but that means we were
- 14:06able to bring you this news which is the Monkey King
- 14:10retailer version. So guys Mal tell us first what
- 14:14you think of it. I'm I'm very happy with it.
- 14:18Yeah. We've talked about wanting a
- 14:20blonde or you know yellow. I mean I'd sort of described as
- 14:23gold which is a good description but blonde haired monkey a bit
- 14:31surprised that the armor is so close to the previous one.
- 14:37I think they've it's a bit of a shame they haven't gone the
- 14:40silver but I wonder if that's to do with them.
- 14:43I forget the characters name from Noble Bear and they didn't
- 14:46want it to be too like that. Perhaps, yeah, she shiny well,
- 14:50he was very black metal though, he was.
- 14:53Yeah, yeah, I. Agree.
- 14:54And just and just to be clear how here Mal, he's from the Sons
- 14:57of the Red Star. He's in no way a noble bear.
- 14:59It's. The no, it's the noble.
- 15:01Bear wave bridge. I meant yeah, the wave which I
- 15:06believe was actually rising Suns.
- 15:07But we'll ignore that and but I also maybe, you know they've
- 15:13already got a lot of the red fabric good soft goods made
- 15:18probably possibly cheaper for them to stick with that red
- 15:21fabric fabric soft goods. And my oh OK.
- 15:26It was tempered by the fact that then the cloth, the plastic
- 15:31cloth bits, so the arms and the legs, they've made them red
- 15:34which I really like and and sort of is memorable to me of him
- 15:41looking like that when I was a kid.
- 15:43You know, in certain images having red trousers and that
- 15:46sort of thing. So you know, it one thing, it's
- 15:48like, oh, OK and Oh yeah, you know, So overall I'm very happy.
- 15:53Yeah, they call this the golden Sage version of Monkey King in
- 15:58all new colours. OK, with golden fur and armour.
- 16:03And so the golden fur is definitely new.
- 16:05I'd say the armour doesn't seem to be that new for me.
- 16:08OK, there's, as you say, bits of red where there wasn't red.
- 16:11Yeah, I think I was looking at comparing the two earlier and
- 16:14the gold is a lighter gold in this one, yeah, yeah, it's all
- 16:17massively lighter, but it is lighter than the the original 1.
- 16:20Would you say that's also brighter and trim on it as well?
- 16:23Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I wonder if this is just
- 16:29toeing the line between people that missed out and would
- 16:34obviously like to get something very similar with enough
- 16:37difference. Then for the existing people
- 16:39that have them that might be tempted to get another one
- 16:44rather than to kind of really change it up by the reservation
- 16:48of Monkey King with the kind of yeah, the more gold coloured fur
- 16:52or kind of blondish fur that has a bit more silver and blue
- 16:56throughout the the armor and the soft coats.
- 17:00So I think they are maybe just trying to keep it similar enough
- 17:04so that it's ultimately recognizable as their monkey
- 17:08version of Monkey King. Yeah.
- 17:10I think that's a good point. Yeah, as I say, it's still cool.
- 17:18I'll probably get one anyway because I love the it's a
- 17:21brilliant figure, but I would have liked it to be more
- 17:24different. Also because if I'm using these
- 17:27parts for customs and I want to customize them more on the other
- 17:31end of the colour scale, so more towards the silver side or you
- 17:36know that would be easier to work from there.
- 17:39But that is maybe a stupid way of designing a figure.
- 17:42So you know, I can accept it as well.
- 17:48But yeah, very good this whole, I guess this whole concept of
- 17:52the retailer wave. So we did kind of briefly
- 17:54mention it before. I think we were expecting to get
- 17:57the figure obscure us from last year as a as a recolors and
- 18:03maybe a couple of other figures which could be exciting.
- 18:07And again maybe don't want to date ourselves too much by
- 18:10predicting because they will be revealed over the next week
- 18:13because it goes on sale at the start of March.
- 18:16But I would like a couple of mythic figures I think.
- 18:19Or maybe 1 mythic 1 Cosmic would be good.
- 18:23I think we'd slightly to get mythic, but yeah.
- 18:26I was going to say, I swear to God, if it's another colour
- 18:28hagenon, I am bringing an actual pitchfork with me to Legions
- 18:31Con. Have fun getting that 2.
- 18:34Customs somewhere. Yeah, or you'll have to, you'll
- 18:38have to go to, you'll have to go to one of the hardware stores on
- 18:41the way to the hotel. Yeah, I actually posted off my
- 18:46only remaining Hagenon the other day.
- 18:48Yes, earlier today actually. Oh, what's he going for these
- 18:51days? I had him on eBay for 75 but I
- 18:56did a deal with a fellow UK UK collector is slightly hagon
- 19:01obsessed. I think this is #16 he'll have
- 19:03now well. He doesn't like paint A.
- 19:05Lot of Hagon. Yeah, a guy called Colin House
- 19:09and really nice guy and he's dyed them.
- 19:11She might have seen them before. Oh, I've seen him die.
- 19:14Shades of. Red and all sorts of different
- 19:15stuff. Yeah, I that guy.
- 19:17OK. I haven't seen him post much
- 19:18recently. So you kind of you don't know
- 19:20whether these people are still collecting or whatever, but.
- 19:23Yeah, he's still collecting Hagman's, so there's another one
- 19:27off on its way to him now. Wonder.
- 19:28What color he's going to dye that one pink.
- 19:32Pink Hagman, Rich. I Whatever.
- 19:39They all look the same color in the bin.
- 19:41Exactly. Yeah.
- 19:44Now you go for another peg, man. You, you.
- 19:46You get one. Or is it even too much for you
- 19:50now? I'd I'd probably pick up another
- 19:53one. I just don't think we're going
- 19:54to get another one unless we get like the the, the non glow in
- 19:59the dark version, the non. Painted one, I take, Yeah.
- 20:02If it's a painted one, that by all means you know.
- 20:08Rich, would you get with the painted version of Hacknon?
- 20:10Would you be up for that? Yeah, I think I'd be in for
- 20:12that. That would be better or even you
- 20:15know painted character with that head even you know don't even
- 20:17need the rest of the the body could be anybody type almost or
- 20:21the new zombie parts yeah so that's that's that'd be very
- 20:28interesting. We'll talk more about it next
- 20:29week when it's kind of hopefully mostly announced.
- 20:33I saw that we had a few people in the European Community get
- 20:37their Pox's orders in. That's pretty good.
- 20:39Eh. Thomas Ryberg.
- 20:41He was the first one I saw got he's all in.
- 20:43Eh, not jealous at all but eh, he's me neither.
- 20:47He's oh, have you seen the faces here?
- 20:51Favoritism. No.
- 20:53I'm not jealous. He was smart and just ordered an
- 20:56all in without Anton. Yeah, this is it.
- 21:01So that was that. That's.
- 21:02Dummies trying to get a postage cheaper.
- 21:06Exactly. And I also saw Ralph today, so
- 21:11today's retailer and retailer day, basically retailer St. date
- 21:18and he got his order from his local German retailer of the
- 21:23figures. So minus the minus the the boot
- 21:27scales, assuming he ordered them, I don't know.
- 21:31But yeah, I saw he got most of the other figures.
- 21:33So yeah, he was. He put a nice post on Instagram
- 21:35and on our Discord. So he's very excited about that,
- 21:39which I can well believe. And he has all them all opened
- 21:42up already. So German efficiency.
- 21:43Boom, all open. Beautiful display on the shelf.
- 21:46Last picture. Can you imagine doing it that
- 21:49quickly, Rich? No.
- 21:53Receiving the box and being nicely displayed on the shelf in
- 21:56the same day, possibly the same hour.
- 21:59This is my long term aim, but there's still a bit of work to
- 22:01do. The The Room reorganization went
- 22:03fairly well a couple of weekends ago, but yeah, I'm not nowhere
- 22:07near that yet. Amazing.
- 22:08You probably didn't. It takes so it takes so long for
- 22:11me to get shipping notices for anything that I'll have lost
- 22:13interest in them anyway by the time I finally get the figures.
- 22:18So that's good for them. And there's a little bit of this
- 22:23and that in the community about people breaking their figures or
- 22:26figures getting out of the package broken.
- 22:29Uh, I don't think we necessarily want to go there.
- 22:32Uh, the four way shows from the clock put.
- 22:35Them on your shelf. No, we don't stand by that.
- 22:39These are these are customizable, poseable action
- 22:43figures, so you definitely have to be able to do it more.
- 22:47And winter is always a tricky time and possibly even tricky
- 22:51time to be producing them. I don't know if it happens more
- 22:54in the factory, but the the company will know more about the
- 23:00the kind of run rate on the defective figures and they say
- 23:05it's very low, which I would believe them because it's quite
- 23:08a big wave. They said you know how many
- 23:11containers, 5 containers full. So I think that to me is maybe
- 23:152530 thousand figures. So if we see 10 posts in the
- 23:21cabal about that, that's still way below on a percentage basis.
- 23:26Yeah, I think, I think Jeremy actually said something along
- 23:28the lines of each of those containers holds 25,000 figures.
- 23:32No, I think did he said no, I think he said 5000 in each
- 23:36container and 20 I thought. It was 25,000.
- 23:39I might be up in their profits considerably.
- 23:41I apologize. I think it's five.
- 23:43I think it's 5000. That would be.
- 23:46Although maybe I'm wrong, you know, maybe I'm wrong, but
- 23:50anyway, a lot of figures, so you can imagine of the posts in the
- 23:55groups that where there are defective and you know, have one
- 23:58defective figure is sad for the person that gets it.
- 24:01But these are mass produced and uh, you know, there's always a,
- 24:06you know what they say, inverted commas in any production is a
- 24:09Monday morning thing. You know that that's a kind of a
- 24:11Monday morning production. It's kind of OK.
- 24:13It's a cliche and it might necessarily be a Monday morning
- 24:17thing, but that's a good way of kind of explaining it that, you
- 24:20know, just a slightly bad batch. You know, maybe the plastic
- 24:23wasn't warmed up enough or whatever.
- 24:25We know nothing really about the process other than they pour
- 24:28plastic into steel molds and obviously they have to avoid
- 24:32things like air bubbles. I think some people are
- 24:34suspecting some the other air bubble in a in a joint piece.
- 24:38OK, that can surely weaken the plastic.
- 24:40Yeah. OK.
- 24:41I get it. They they said that they get
- 24:44like 5 basically the the equivalent of like 5 all in's as
- 24:49kind of stock to send out replacement parts of and and see
- 24:54in the worst case replacement figure and they never get
- 24:58through that so far. So it's very low, you know and I
- 25:04don't see the money or any reason to lie to us, but you
- 25:07know there was a lot of noise about it.
- 25:09So they they did address it on this the four hours and then
- 25:12issue clock. I personally don't think it came
- 25:16across the best because I think if you're in the know and in the
- 25:20circle where you understand that show fine.
- 25:24If you were read to be new to the community or just, you know,
- 25:28didn't follow the stuff, but you maybe had a defect, you don't
- 25:30follow the community. Even if you have a huge
- 25:32collection and you suddenly got a defective figure and you're
- 25:36wondering, you know, maybe I should check out what these guys
- 25:38are saying. And you came along to the show
- 25:40probably didn't come across the best.
- 25:42Uh, and I see that today they pulled that video and they're
- 25:47doing another live stream tonight.
- 25:49And Jeremy has addressed that. He, him, and Chris will be doing
- 25:52the live stream tonight. Probably the best decision to
- 25:55make on their part because I even saw on the YouTube they
- 26:00were getting a lot of negative feedback.
- 26:01Now you can disagree or agree with that if you want, but it
- 26:05was there, you know and it's not normally like that.
- 26:08So there must be, you know there's enough people that were
- 26:12annoyed or you know frustrated by it.
- 26:15With plenty of people also saying, you know, I have no
- 26:18problem with it and I have no problem with the way you, you
- 26:21know the video or the the live stream.
- 26:22So but you know enough people were annoyed by it.
- 26:25They took some action so and me personally and this is totally
- 26:30my personal opinion, I've worked my whole life in customer facing
- 26:35jobs most and mostly in banks now.
- 26:38So it's totally different business but I wouldn't have
- 26:42addressed it that way. You know, I would have
- 26:45definitely had the subject expert which is Chris with the
- 26:52PR public facing marketing person which is Jeremy, UH and
- 26:58Chris had did have a nice present, you know explanation of
- 27:02whatever where, but have him with Jeremy presenting it in a
- 27:05nice way to the community and I think that would have worked
- 27:08well and that's probably what's already existing now when this
- 27:10podcast is published. So you know they fixed it.
- 27:15You know, I don't think that they certainly didn't mean to
- 27:17offend anybody and or anything like that, you know, but it
- 27:21didn't come across. The funny thing is, they've
- 27:24reacted to this situation the way they react to every
- 27:28situation, and they've got it right even.
- 27:30Well, at this point we don't know what they've done, but we
- 27:33suspect they'll have gotten it right eventually.
- 27:36They'll still be someone who wants to gripe and moan, but
- 27:39This is why they've built up the goodwill they have with so many
- 27:42people. Why people are a bit more
- 27:44willing to defend them is because they always get it right
- 27:48eventually. And I mean this is The funny
- 27:51thing I get. I can understand their
- 27:53frustration at the the stuff going on on Facebook because
- 28:00that it I have a lot of these people.
- 28:04When asked the question, have you contacted the customer
- 28:08services to know or are asking what they should do And they say
- 28:13so often, Contact customer services, Contact customer
- 28:17services and those of us that have had reason to contact
- 28:20customer services know how exceptionally good they are with
- 28:25that side of things when you do do that.
- 28:27Totally get it. But unfortunately with all these
- 28:30things and no matter how good the company is, whatever, it
- 28:33gets to a point where and it's always perception as reality.
- 28:36And so if there's a perception out there, they need to get in
- 28:41front of it. It doesn't matter if it's
- 28:43completely bogus or faults or, you know, people are running off
- 28:47the wrong information or some social media posts are getting,
- 28:51you know, wrongly amplified. Because of course, there's
- 28:54always more interaction on the posts that, you know, we have
- 28:59criticism, you know, because people are bored and school.
- 29:02This looks like a bit of fun. You know, let's say let's and I
- 29:06had a problem with a figure six years ago and you know, I'm just
- 29:09going to give my $0.02 on it. So yeah, but that's the pro
- 29:14that's always the difficult thing here, you know, it's it's
- 29:17the the perception is the reality, even if the reality is
- 29:20there. They have the information, they
- 29:22know when there's a genuine problem.
- 29:24I mean obviously stuff like remember the troll heads, that
- 29:28was just a real problem. There was no disputing that, you
- 29:32know, they didn't come with the head, they ordered the extra
- 29:35heads. They made it good.
- 29:37So you can imagine if there was a bunch of figures with, you
- 29:41know, parts that weren't working or, you know, stuff that was
- 29:45breaking, they would make it good and they'd come out in
- 29:48front of it and say, but if it is literally just the normal run
- 29:52rate of figures being broken, they probably don't feel like
- 29:56there's nothing to be addressed until now.
- 29:58It comes to the perception that there is something to address
- 30:01and they have to address it, you know?
- 30:02And maybe the addressing it is just educating people a little
- 30:05bit. Yeah, sure.
- 30:07But that's a tricky thing to do without coming across as you
- 30:11know, condescending. You know, just is Richard very
- 30:17quiet there. You don't want to set an
- 30:19offensive. Just worried they haven't.
- 30:21Shipped his I'm trying not to jump, to keep the the language
- 30:24in check. No, I mean good.
- 30:26Chris and Georgia done it better.
- 30:28Yes. Was it a bad idea to get the two
- 30:29of them to do it? Yes, by themselves, without
- 30:32Jeremy hanging over them with a mute button.
- 30:35Narrowly. I've been really quiet because I
- 30:38just, you know, what can you say with people?
- 30:40They're just, they've got to have something to complain
- 30:42about. And you know, someone's now
- 30:43complaining about the post that Curtis put up yesterday been
- 30:46taken down and that's censoring people, etcetera, etcetera.
- 30:49It's nonsense. Stop complaining.
- 30:51Everybody just enjoy the figures.
- 30:53The Horsemen are going to get it dealt with.
- 30:54They said they will move on. Fair.
- 30:57Fair. Fair.
- 30:58I think that's fair, right? So that was probably not the
- 31:02best thing to proceed the Love section of this podcast.
- 31:10It's the best thing is we're now going to talk peace, love and
- 31:13understand. Yes, so the love of nitas.
- 31:25So who wants to to bring it at first?
- 31:29Rich, Rich, I feel like you have.
- 31:30You've done a bit of prep here in your on your sick bed.
- 31:34So my my first, my first love story.
- 31:38This is this is unrequited love. This is a sad one to start us
- 31:41off, but the character involved befim quite frankly.
- 31:48So it is Attila and Faustia is my first love story.
- 31:52Oh. So despite acting like a
- 31:56Playboy, Oh yeah. So we kind of came to this.
- 32:00We kind of mentioned this before in another I don't know if it's
- 32:02a show or if it's the live stream we did.
- 32:06We could well have done. It's an obvious one to go to,
- 32:08hence it's first on my list. I remember saying Faustia as a
- 32:11woman of God. And you know that wouldn't
- 32:14happen. Despite acting like a Playboy,
- 32:16Attila is actually head over heels in love with Faustia.
- 32:19He just doesn't know how to tell her last.
- 32:22For him, the feelings are not reciprocated.
- 32:24Faustia thinks of him as a petulant man boy who was just
- 32:27obsessed with power. He only hangs around him because
- 32:30she knows how important the upcoming war will be and that by
- 32:33staying in her position that will favour the slide of good.
- 32:36Basically, she thinks he's a Dick.
- 32:38It's his brother. Not him.
- 32:43This is going to endure you even further to Trevor, yeah?
- 32:48No, Trevor's not going to be happy with me, but there we go.
- 32:52Do you think you think first year could actually be that
- 32:55cunning or? No, I think she just.
- 32:59I think she knows what's best for the for the land of mythos.
- 33:02So she was willing to put up with him being a douche bag I.
- 33:07Spent that whole thing for some reason, thought you'd said
- 33:09Atlas, That's why I said it's his brother, you, said Attila.
- 33:11Didn't until, yeah, I did say Attila.
- 33:13Yeah. Same faction.
- 33:14Yeah. So like, they're in the same
- 33:16faction. First year and yeah.
- 33:17Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So yeah, I think, I don't think
- 33:21she's being devious or anything. I think she's just like, I've
- 33:23got to put up with this guy, but I'm then keeping my arm's
- 33:25length, whereas in my cannon he's head over heels with her.
- 33:29He's, you know. Also you think?
- 33:31He's just because because he can't, you know, get what he
- 33:34wants with her and that sort of thing.
- 33:35So he's showing. Off his fake hammer.
- 33:37It's a little bit, exactly. It's a little bit unrequited
- 33:41from Definitely unrequited. Yeah, yeah, but so, but they're
- 33:47showing the kind of good side out to the to the faction, you
- 33:51know, in order to keep people kind of, you know, living the
- 33:53dream. Yeah, we're in actual fact,
- 33:58she's got, you know, borderline or restraining order against him
- 34:00as soon as they're not out in front of the troops.
- 34:03Yeah, she's definitely got the the chastity belt on him when
- 34:08they're in the family quarters, shall we say.
- 34:12Yes. So say, you know, it's it's not
- 34:14heavy romantic love, but it is a love of sorts that fits in with
- 34:17what we said at the start. It's, you know, it's an
- 34:19unrequainted love. It's my first one.
- 34:21Is this something that kind of came across your mind Mal, or is
- 34:24this kind of a left field for? You.
- 34:26No, no, that is not one that I I I was doing a bit of bio reading
- 34:31to see what sort of connections I could see in there and that
- 34:34was not one that came to mind at all, right.
- 34:39And what have you got then for a smile?
- 34:42So you have one from Armies of Leah DC Oh yeah.
- 34:46Let's keep on the mine, then. Mine was Hadriana, or Hadriana
- 34:51and Magnus, drawn together by their love of and their roles
- 34:57within the Red Shield, and they're both from ancient
- 35:01families. And it was quite.
- 35:03Hopefully not the same one. Different.
- 35:07It suggests different ancient families.
- 35:09I hope it suggests different ancient families or this has
- 35:11gone right off the rails early on.
- 35:14But, you know, do. We do.
- 35:15We know their surnames is. Are their surnames both
- 35:17Targaryen? We actually don't, do we?
- 35:20That's a unique worry. Now this is going to have turned
- 35:24out to have been a right. You didn't know.
- 35:30We just confirmed that you didn't know.
- 35:31So you can plead that, you can plead innocence on that.
- 35:36But I was going with the, you know, throughout history it's
- 35:38tend to have been, but they're both from the ancient regal
- 35:41families and they tend to flock together to keep that strength
- 35:45up and through the families, don't they, in that that power
- 35:48dynamic. So that's my thinking with those
- 35:50two. Very good.
- 35:52Yeah, you get lots of like into family marriages and that.
- 35:55Don't just keep keep them all strong.
- 35:58You do. What do you think of that Rich?
- 36:01Not that it. Was that something you
- 36:02considered or? I hummed and hard with that.
- 36:05But I've gone a different route for Magnus personally.
- 36:10I I I because she's his superior.
- 36:12I think there'd be a bit of a clash there.
- 36:14And she, you know, he'd be like, no, like he'd be like, no, I'm
- 36:18too honourable. I can't do it.
- 36:20She's the boss. I don't want to look like I'm
- 36:22trying to use a per by wooing her and, you know, standing side
- 36:26by side there all the time, etcetera.
- 36:27So now I've gone a different direction for Magnus.
- 36:30Very good. Well actually then I could do my
- 36:33my first one actually continues the theme of the armies of the
- 36:37Odysseus. So I had and and it's actually
- 36:40an inter faction or an intra fact.
- 36:43No inter intras between two different factions and Attila
- 36:51and Gwendolyn happens brand. I'm kind of, I'm kind of
- 36:55imagining that, you know, you know, when the battles kind of
- 36:58get up, you know, obviously the good factions are going to have
- 37:00to work together a bit. And the kind of, you know,
- 37:05they're to judge them by their bias, like utterly serious
- 37:09people. Uh, you know, kind of she's the
- 37:12kind of leader of the kind of army, you know, kind of battle.
- 37:16So I'm thinking it's, you know, all talking battle tactics, all
- 37:22kinds of stuff, you know, sorting out the battle tactics
- 37:24and then sweeping all those little men off the battle
- 37:26tactics table and, you know, going at it.
- 37:29And then that's how it's going to can work out just a pure
- 37:33serious fest, You know, just utterly, utterly serious.
- 37:39And then just this kind of, you know, right, let's blow off some
- 37:42steam and then right now. And what about that?
- 37:45What about if they, what about if they attack us on the left
- 37:48flank? What are we going to do?
- 37:50And then it's back to the battle tactics.
- 37:54I'd be slight. I'd be slightly worried they'd
- 37:55lose the battle tactics. I mean, knock those figures off
- 37:57the table. Yeah.
- 37:58Well, you know, they've obviously.
- 37:59Part of the battle because. They've obviously set it up,
- 38:02talked about it, you know, kind of noted it all down however
- 38:05they do. And then it's like, yeah, just
- 38:06sweep it across, you know, kind of can't.
- 38:10They're so turned on by the whole battle talk that
- 38:12eventually, you know, they just look each other in the eye and
- 38:15go right, you know, and this kind of keeps the factions kind
- 38:21of linked in terms of the battle.
- 38:23And I mean obviously it's going to end horribly one way or
- 38:26another in the big battle. So either you know, one of, you
- 38:30know, maybe one of them kind of perishes and then of course it
- 38:34drives the other one crazy. Or one of them, when the battle
- 38:38is won, if they still survive, is going to completely betray
- 38:42the other one because their true love is actually their faction
- 38:46and what they follow and maybe until actually finds his real
- 38:51hammer and then realizes that he's he's more than he thought
- 38:57he was, you know and then he becomes really too big for his
- 39:01boots and kind of you know, yeah, not hanging around these
- 39:04eats around chicks anymore. So to me they seem like a real
- 39:10power couple though, John. So are we going to call them at
- 39:14Saline? We're going to call them
- 39:16Gwendilla. What's the combo name we're
- 39:18going to use for? Gwendilla sounds good.
- 39:20Yeah, that sounds a little bit saucy, but not quite.
- 39:25So that's my first one. And yeah, just a serious
- 39:29festival. It's a.
- 39:30Little bit queasy, It's a good one.
- 39:33Yeah, it is. You know, you do kind of, you do
- 39:36have to channel a little bit your inner Game of Thrones
- 39:39writer to kind of think of this stuff.
- 39:41And this seems entirely plausible in Game of Thrones.
- 39:45You know that like basically these two serious generals that
- 39:49kind of have have a kind of a basically 90% of their life is
- 39:55just thinking about the battle and then they need to kind of
- 39:58you know release a little bit of that energy and.
- 40:04I'm just. Yeah.
- 40:05I'm just thinking, Mal, if that made you queasy, you've got no
- 40:08hope in one. Oh, no.
- 40:12Get the bomb bucket ready now. Right.
- 40:17So what do we got next? So my next one is another same
- 40:23faction relationship. It's, you know, the Crusher and
- 40:27Belfago. What?
- 40:31How does that even work? Bear.
- 40:33Bear with me. Bear with me.
- 40:36Here we go. Having left the noble Bear and
- 40:38developed an absolutely fearsome reputation within the Legion of
- 40:41Arathea, absolutely no one, not even the cockiest Ork, was
- 40:45willing to risk trying to romance Juno.
- 40:47The fear of an axe to the head was too great.
- 40:50That was until Arathea returned. With him came Belfigor, the
- 40:54mighty demon right-handed man to Arathea himself.
- 40:58Belfigor was fascinated by a human being, part of a legion to
- 41:01begin with and then when he saw a fight he became captivated by
- 41:05her demon. Romance is not something for the
- 41:08faint hearted with sacrifices and blood rituals, but it worked
- 41:12on Juno and the two are very much now inseparable.
- 41:16So it's it's a bit of a left field one you wouldn't
- 41:18necessarily think Juno the Crusher and.
- 41:19A German but. I could see this working.
- 41:23Two absolute psychos. Bloodlust.
- 41:28Does the demon? Very quickly learning some new
- 41:30things about you too. Does it?
- 41:34Does it? Yeah.
- 41:35So our listeners unfortunately, does the demon kind of, you
- 41:38know, is it, is it a kind of a sexual relationship then or is
- 41:42it more of an alliance? Oh, very much a sexual
- 41:44relationship. A relationship, Yeah.
- 41:47I don't know how many, How many, how many wangs he's got, but I'm
- 41:52sure he's using them all to good effect.
- 41:56And you know and. Demon.
- 42:04Wang Oh, no. Looking at the pictures and
- 42:12thinking that loincloth must cover a lot.
- 42:16Yeah, I mean, well, when we do, when we do our next guest of
- 42:18character drawings, I'll make sure if I do Belford War that
- 42:21it's clear how many Wangs he has.
- 42:23No. No, this is going to go.
- 42:27I think this episode's going to need a mature rating on each
- 42:30other when you do that. But no, I think I random as it
- 42:34is, I think this relationship could work.
- 42:35They're they're two complete psychos.
- 42:39I think you could definitely work from a kind of, you know,
- 42:43having a soft spot for each other and kind of, you know,
- 42:48yeah, but the kind of demon and the human together, I don't know
- 42:53how he doesn't just melt her or something, you know?
- 42:58Maybe, maybe John. He melts her heart.
- 43:02There we go now there we go. I'm annoyed I didn't think about
- 43:07lying myself from my bio. Here all week.
- 43:14Thank goodness it's Friday This goes out.
- 43:18Yeah, I just don't know if, you know, if she could even touch
- 43:22his skin without kind of melting her skin.
- 43:24So you know. I don't.
- 43:26I don't have as a fire demon, so I think that's going to be OK.
- 43:30OK, isn't it? I'd never imagine like even fire
- 43:32demons have fiery hot skin. I just imagine them to be able
- 43:36to produce fire and be safe in it.
- 43:40Maybe as a as maybe, as you said uh in our chat this week when we
- 43:45were discussing this episode, uh, maybe he has an okey pokey
- 43:49stick. It's.
- 43:54The Wizards. Isn't it?
- 43:55The okey pokey stick? Oh.
- 43:56That's right. Yeah.
- 43:57We're going to get them soon in the box as well.
- 43:59So we must refer to them as that when we get them.
- 44:02Yeah, definitely. They're okey pokey sticks.
- 44:04Yeah, sounds good to me. Umm, right.
- 44:07Now bring us back to, uh, to PG I.
- 44:12Somehow managed to make all cloves still sound more romantic
- 44:16than and you know and yeah, anyway, so I thought Vortog and
- 44:25Queen Oaks. Oh, yeah, that's that's
- 44:28definitely something that I could think about again.
- 44:33Well, in terms of the story. Which is going to disagree.
- 44:35Disagree again, though, because it's kind of.
- 44:37This is sort of. This is more like having off
- 44:40with her uncle sort of relationship this one.
- 44:42So no, I'm not sure. Just because he's got a beard
- 44:46doesn't mean he's old. And you know nothing wrong with
- 44:48an older man and a younger woman.
- 44:51But he could put on his alternate head.
- 44:52There's a helmet without a beard.
- 44:55I know it's not him then, but you know.
- 44:59The like because Lining Vortog's bio says Vortog's true
- 45:02allegiance lies with Queen Irks and the separatists.
- 45:05Oh, so you. Yeah, it's a bit of a soft spot
- 45:08for you. Extend that out to kind of, you
- 45:09know, maybe a secret relationship that that if if
- 45:13Erzak hears about it, there could be, there could be a big
- 45:16trouble. And that's maybe how they end up
- 45:19breaking away from the Legion of Arthur and going over towards,
- 45:24what would you say, Taranog and the convocation?
- 45:29Well, I think their own little breakaway faction completely.
- 45:32I don't. Think they'd join anyone else
- 45:34interesting? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:37What do you think is our Orcs capability of showing love,
- 45:40Rich? I think so.
- 45:43I've I I have a very brief for myself with irks Irka going
- 45:49after Erzog to try and woo him and get her over to her side and
- 45:55the rebellion sort of thing. So I think was definitely.
- 45:57Right. Definitely all club is a
- 45:59possibility. Yeah, I mean it's a it's a good
- 46:03in in the land of kind of war and betrayal and everything.
- 46:06It's a very good tactic to kind of, you know, maybe get people
- 46:10on your side or get you know get what you want.
- 46:13So to use it in a in a more, maybe it's best less loving way,
- 46:18but a more sinister way, no. But I mean, and they're also, I
- 46:22mean there's lots of like you know in Inter Orc thing, you
- 46:26know, it's like orcs or Orcs are the important things.
- 46:29It's not about Arafat, it's not about satisfaction.
- 46:31It's about the Orcs. So there's good that's gonna
- 46:34build those bonds. Those bonds might turn to
- 46:37something else, et cetera, et cetera.
- 46:41Very good. Well, my next one is, it's more
- 46:44of a fun one. Well, I mean how much fun it is,
- 46:47but more of a fun one from kind of the theory behind it.
- 46:52But Hera, Serpent, Spire and Tarnog.
- 46:57So another orc involved there, but she's totally stoic and
- 47:01serious. So I'm thinking about the Ying
- 47:04and Yang here, and he's kind of completely chilled out and fun,
- 47:07you know, So it's kind of like she's so serious and stoic about
- 47:12her business that he's the only one that kind of enables her to
- 47:16kind of get out of herself and actually, you know, be a little
- 47:20bit more relaxed and kind of chill off his, his vibe, you
- 47:25know, choked on his beard there. I'm dying here.
- 47:33Why? Because she's she's busy helping
- 47:36him get his chill off and this sort of stuff.
- 47:38I'm like, Oh my God. I'm saying this completely
- 47:41unconsciously, you know, this is just.
- 47:43It's it's my, it's my filthy mind.
- 47:45I'm basically, you know, Mal's worn his magic on me.
- 47:48My mind is now as like you know, saucy as his.
- 47:54There you go, No. I think, I think, I think this
- 47:56could work. I mean, Mal looks like he's
- 47:57about to throw up when you mentioned the human and not
- 47:59getting it on. Is her a human though?
- 48:02Or is she some sort of AI? Suppose she is humanoid, but
- 48:07yeah, she's human. Yeah, I suppose.
- 48:12Yeah, she's just a magician. So I mean, I don't really
- 48:14consider Wizards human, even though I suppose they are.
- 48:18Got sort of visions of him, them getting stoned together.
- 48:22Yeah, exactly. Yeah, you know, he's, he's got
- 48:26that volume. I didn't want to bring in any of
- 48:28the kind of Furious 4 into this because it might be a bit too
- 48:30real. I didn't want to.
- 48:32I didn't want to kind of break the 4th wall on this.
- 48:35Questioning then wouldn't. They, yeah.
- 48:37So. So I'm thinking, you know, turn
- 48:39out is that kind of influence on her.
- 48:43So there you go. Yeah, he must have been through
- 48:46a lot. Obviously, you know, defecting
- 48:48and the evil of the orcs over to that sort of side of things, so
- 48:51he must be a pretty, you know. He's a charmer, I'd say, you
- 48:54know, Yeah, yeah. It's not just, you know, he's a
- 48:57big guy, but like he's, he's definitely got more about him
- 49:00than just this kind of, you know, brute size.
- 49:04He's actually, you know, probably got more in between the
- 49:08ears than you think than the average orc, definitely because.
- 49:13He's Maybe she just likes convocation.
- 49:16Yeah, maybe she just likes really big antlers because he's
- 49:19going to sway with those, isn't he?
- 49:21Because he's got. Well, they're only on.
- 49:22Honestly, they're only on his pauldrons.
- 49:24It's not like they're sticking out his head or whatever.
- 49:26I know, but still, that's a big pair of antlers.
- 49:29Yeah, I know it's. I know it's just.
- 49:32From all this family, all this family was decimated when he got
- 49:34those analysts. You're trying to get us to say
- 49:37something here. No, we're not going to.
- 49:38We're not going to take the bait.
- 49:39I'm actually, I'm genuinely I'm not.
- 49:42Anyway, you have to be the most intelligent orc if you've joined
- 49:45the best faction in mythos. So that's all I can say.
- 49:51So rich, he's a very cool figure as well he is.
- 49:53Yeah, I can't wait to get him. Unfortunately it's going to take
- 49:58a bit longer, although my All in my All In and my retailer are in
- 50:01a race now because my All In did ship.
- 50:03I don't know if I mentioned that earlier so that.
- 50:06I've not actually been notices for my Horseman order or the
- 50:10retailer one, but the retailer one is just a Thonog, so
- 50:13hopefully that will arrive first or should arrive first.
- 50:15But it's also interesting to see.
- 50:19At least it looks like from the shipping notice I got, that my
- 50:24All In plus the few extras I ordered all seem to ship
- 50:27together. So it looks like the
- 50:29International All In's are actually not just shipping
- 50:33separately to the other figures, but I'll update if that actually
- 50:38doesn't turn out to be the case. But for me, I prefer it that way
- 50:41because makes it easier for customs because you have one
- 50:46receipt as opposed to. I think I try and explain why a
- 50:51small order is actually part of this receipt that doesn't
- 50:54contain all the other figures and you pay their tax twice.
- 50:57That's. Why?
- 50:57They said they were doing it to stop those sorts of issues.
- 51:00Yeah, which makes sense. I'm.
- 51:01I'm fine with the way. I'd rather wait than actually
- 51:06end up with some extra expense. Anyway, Rich bring us back to
- 51:10the the love. Yes, so this this is my longest
- 51:15story. I apologize in advance.
- 51:16Do you want some? Do you want some music then?
- 51:21No, I think, I think we're OK. You're good.
- 51:22You're good. Yeah.
- 51:24He doesn't like the music. That's.
- 51:28So my next romance is Freya and Gorgo.
- 51:33Wow. So this unlikely romance to span
- 51:37centuries. They first met on a battlefield
- 51:40in the first Great War. Gogo slew Freya after a mighty
- 51:43fight. A few days later, the next
- 51:46battle began into Gogo's confusion.
- 51:48Out strode Freya with the legions of light.
- 51:51Gogo fought to where she was on the field and again slew her.
- 51:55A few weeks later, Gogo again saw this warrior standing
- 51:58poised, ready for battle. He asked one of his commanders
- 52:01who that woman was and was told she was of the Valkyrie, A
- 52:05mysterious race who regenerated after being killed.
- 52:08Intrigued by this Gogo that is meant to capture this immortal
- 52:11creature while in his custody, Freya was treated as well as
- 52:15Gogo was so intrigued by her, he wouldn't let anyone harm her.
- 52:19They began to talk for many hours at a time about what death
- 52:22was like and how living so long was sometimes depressing.
- 52:26One day Freya seized her chance at escape and fled.
- 52:29She had the chance to end Gogo's life, but could not as he had
- 52:32treated her well. After the armies of darkness had
- 52:35finally been defeated and the Dark 4 banished Freya heard
- 52:39rumors that Gogo had in fact not only survived but was still in
- 52:42mythos. She tracked him down and found a
- 52:44broken creature devoid of hope and at a loss with what to do.
- 52:48Out of the misplaced sympathy and and the remaining good
- 52:52disposition towards him, she did something that she would never
- 52:55disclose to anyone. She gave him gave him some of
- 52:58her own magic that allowed him to extend his life.
- 53:00He was not immortal and would not raise from the dead, but he
- 53:03would live for millennia. They grew extremely close after
- 53:07this and over time his closeness turned to love.
- 53:09Never spending long together, they would nonetheless seek each
- 53:12other out every few years. Now the Dark Gods have returned.
- 53:16Frere is torn between her love for this man and what he is
- 53:19trying to make happen. Similarly, Gorgo is torn between
- 53:23his need for utter destruction and the desire to stay loyal to
- 53:26his beloved. Fantastic.
- 53:29Now that is that is amazing. Yeah, that is probably.
- 53:34You'd know The man was off sick for a day from work this week.
- 53:37He had time to think about stuff.
- 53:40I did. He gave me a bit of time to
- 53:42write that, yeah. I'll tell you listeners, if we
- 53:44recorded this on Tuesday as planned as opposed to Thursday,
- 53:48you wouldn't have got that wonderful 2 minutes of text.
- 53:51So I have to say it was, it was worth the delay and the late
- 53:56night for me. And yeah, that's.
- 53:59That's I was just, I was just thinking about Frayer as a
- 54:01character. Yeah, I love the Valkyrie thing.
- 54:03Yeah, I love the Valkyrie thing that you brought it into.
- 54:07The whole Gore, Gore thing as well, which is, you know,
- 54:10totally mysterious other than we know that he's probably lived
- 54:14for a very long time or lived as maybe in inverted Congress
- 54:19existed. Maybe he's another another thing
- 54:22to say with skeleton neck peg, you know?
- 54:25And so, yeah, that's super, super cool.
- 54:29Yeah. What do you think now?
- 54:31I do wonder though. I mean, I like, I like the idea,
- 54:33I like that. But I always think with Gorgo
- 54:36that people be put off by a smelly helmet because obviously
- 54:41he doesn't take it off. He doesn't take his helmet.
- 54:44Off. Don't say stuff like that when
- 54:46I'm trying to have a drink of water.
- 54:49I don't what you mean. I'm just mean.
- 54:51Doesn't take his head here. Rich is dead, Rich is gone, and
- 55:03that man has the cheek to go on mute as.
- 55:06He cries himself. That's just totally unfair.
- 55:10You're leaving us to carry it while you just throw that
- 55:12bombshell on this. I don't know what you guys are.
- 55:17What you guys? Are well, just all I say is.
- 55:21Take his his helmet. Off I'm stamping this for the
- 55:24Instagram real. OK.
- 55:32Well, yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, I can understand
- 55:36that from both perspectives, I would say or like both, both,
- 55:40both connotations of what you said and but let's focus on the
- 55:45one that you actually meant, which was his, his actual famous
- 55:48helmet that he has on his head and.
- 55:51Yeah, he doesn't remove it. So you.
- 55:53Know. But it could be like the
- 55:54Mandalorian, you know. Do they have to?
- 55:56I mean, I know they do in the show because it was Pedro Pascal
- 56:00and he had to show his face, you know, contractually he's.
- 56:02A good looking chap. Believe you, it won't be on it
- 56:05anymore. That's going to be interesting.
- 56:07That's a rumor I heard, anyway. He's got another big gig, they
- 56:11announced. Yesterday.
- 56:12Yeah, they fantastic. Yeah.
- 56:14It's a bit like it's a little bit kind of you can be in too
- 56:17many things. Maybe he'd probably be good in
- 56:19it, but like, it'll be very hard to imagine him as that character
- 56:23when you know him from 20 other characters in that type of
- 56:27realm. You know, the superhero kind of
- 56:29realm or whatever that kind of. It's yeah, it's a sort of funny
- 56:32one isn't it? Because they've usually gone for
- 56:34actors who not unknown but not super well known.
- 56:39I mean, the most, yes was probably Robert Downey Junior,
- 56:41but yeah, he'd been gone for so long or you know, he was just
- 56:46coming back when they. Yeah.
- 56:47Or take a famous actor, but some someone that hasn't been in a
- 56:50superhero movie before that. That's kind of cool, you know?
- 56:53And kind of then kind of get it that way.
- 56:57But anyway, and yeah, so Gorgo, Smelly Ham, I do understand.
- 57:02But you know, you kind of get over those kind of things when
- 57:05you've been in love with someone for hundreds of years, you know?
- 57:09Yeah. You know.
- 57:10Maybe a long life. Is it the the the cost of losing
- 57:13a sense of smell? Well, I mean, I don't think your
- 57:15sinuses are not the most reliable things at the best of
- 57:19times, as you and I know, Matt. And.
- 57:22And yeah, maybe they just don't work at a certain after a
- 57:25certain point of time. They could well imagine that.
- 57:27Yeah. And, you know, the olfactory
- 57:29nerve doesn't repair itself. It's one of the only nerves in
- 57:32the body. I think, that really doesn't
- 57:34repair itself if it gets damaged.
- 57:36So, yeah, Now often people live there, says the smell because
- 57:40it's blocked. But if it actually does get
- 57:42damaged, then, you know, your sense of smell is gone.
- 57:44And best of luck. Yeah.
- 57:50So that's a tough one. Yeah.
- 57:52So I could definitely see that I, I I just flicked on YouTube
- 57:57on my phone there to see what was going on with because the
- 57:59the old UH-4 horsemen UH video is going on now just to say and
- 58:05and just because it's funny and I don't know what to make of it
- 58:08but Jeremy has a George Hayes Fun T-shirt on Oh.
- 58:16Jeremy. I think it's probably that
- 58:21probably certainly gets the message across, yeah.
- 58:24Anyway, right? Was it?
- 58:26Was it dumal for the next one? I think so, isn't it?
- 58:30Yeah. So I've gone with two of the
- 58:34faction leaders as having, well, the Horsemen, I should say.
- 58:37Sorry Elithea and Arathea. I think that there is.
- 58:44There it it touches on them having very contrasting
- 58:48personalities and it even says in it for some reason in the
- 58:52Lithia's bio it mentions Arethea and it says where is Arethea's
- 58:56rage Is full of fire and fury. A Lithia's touch is decidedly
- 59:01icy and silent, which I know he's talking about the way they,
- 59:04but maybe that contrast that you know bring them together, that
- 59:08connection a bit like I guess we've talked about with them
- 59:15Gwendolyn and. Attila.
- 59:19Lattilla, perhaps a bit more packed in it, a bit more, you
- 59:23know. All I can say is that it's going
- 59:25to be steamy. You know it.
- 59:30Is very steamy ice and fire. That's steamy enough to me.
- 59:34Very steamy. Yeah, she's probably the only
- 59:36one that could that could manage to have that sort of interaction
- 59:40with Erith here at all and. I reckon she's a very strong
- 59:44lady. Yeah, I do feel like Arthur is
- 59:46kind of beyond that kind of stuff that's is that's for you
- 59:49mere kind of people of the flesh kind of thing, you know?
- 59:52No one's beyond. Love, John?
- 59:54Yeah, no one. That's true.
- 59:56Yeah, maybe they'll find a different way of expressing
- 59:58their love. You know, it could be like, you
- 1:00:01know, just blasting giant bolts of kind of fire and, you know, I
- 1:00:07see vampiric stuff at each other across the battlefield.
- 1:00:12You know, and yeah, so who knows?
- 1:00:18What do you think, Rich? Could you imagine two of the I
- 1:00:20Could 4? I can imagine this working,
- 1:00:23actually. I'm not sure whether they're
- 1:00:27gonna go down. You know, a new wave of secret
- 1:00:32messages. You know, characters delivering
- 1:00:34secret messages between Arathea and Lithia, maybe, you know,
- 1:00:37there's some like servant vampires and servant demons, you
- 1:00:40know, with like little little notes and this sort of stuff.
- 1:00:43I'm not sure it's going to be wave of figures, but I can see
- 1:00:44this work in this relationship as you said, you know, they're
- 1:00:47the only two that can take each other on, let's be honest in
- 1:00:50that sort of that sort of thing. Yeah, definitely.
- 1:00:54Yeah. And.
- 1:00:56I have a pic of the gods, you know, one's pox ridden and the
- 1:01:00other one's dead. It's like.
- 1:01:04Yeah, you wouldn't be going, you wouldn't be going near Poxos,
- 1:01:06would you for, for any sort of, you know?
- 1:01:10I imagine she's sending love letters via var varg.
- 1:01:14You know the bar just there for her to send off with love
- 1:01:18letters attached to like the. Ravens in Game of Thrones, you
- 1:01:20know it's just little Vargas going across.
- 1:01:22He's in. Wizard of Oz.
- 1:01:23Yeah, it's like. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:26Who's he got? Cupids.
- 1:01:28Var Cupids There we go. He's got Spell for Gorgeous gone
- 1:01:31through his little portals. Is it or no who brings him
- 1:01:34through the portal? Somebody.
- 1:01:37Yeah, Belford gore items the portal.
- 1:01:38Oh yeah, yeah. So he's a portal man.
- 1:01:40Yeah, so. So he could be going through his
- 1:01:41own portals to Lithia. He's too busy romancing Juno for
- 1:01:45that near this oh. Sorry, yeah, but he might be
- 1:01:48crushing people at the time, you know?
- 1:01:50This is true. This is.
- 1:01:51True. Yeah.
- 1:01:52So. Or crushing on people.
- 1:01:55Oh, maybe that's. Oh, Mal, you're on.
- 1:01:58You're on fire tonight. Maybe that's water, and maybe
- 1:02:00that's what the crusher refers to.
- 1:02:04I'm telling you the first one. She should be crushing on this
- 1:02:07love law the. Entire time.
- 1:02:09She should be going up to Lord Bouchotti and tell them look I
- 1:02:12can handle this large hammer and just whack it across his head
- 1:02:17because he's always going on about how she she it's not
- 1:02:21appropriate just such a big hammer because she wouldn't be
- 1:02:23able to carry it which is just yeah she should just go and
- 1:02:29whack him across that with the hammer that that's definitely
- 1:02:33definitely a good well, I. Maybe this year's legions.
- 1:02:36Com. We could arm the the human sized
- 1:02:39pig and get her to to take Lord Bushotti out with the hammer.
- 1:02:44Oh, we could just get. Yeah, When she does her.
- 1:02:46Her. When she does the pig fancy
- 1:02:50dress cosplay. Sorry.
- 1:02:52Yeah. Or maybe we get Rebecca McDonald
- 1:02:56to do Juno this year and get her a giant hammer and just keep
- 1:03:00going over to Steve whacking the head off him, you know, and that
- 1:03:06Pete will just he'd just be on his phone taking videos for the
- 1:03:10entire con of this. They can even do it for good
- 1:03:14causes. So they could start off with
- 1:03:15Rebecca hitting him, and then they could.
- 1:03:16Everyone else could pay like $5 a turn to whack him with this
- 1:03:18giant hammer and the IQ out for that.
- 1:03:21And then maybe, maybe every time they just add a little bit more
- 1:03:25weight into the hammer, you know, a little few little lead
- 1:03:28lead pellets or something. You know, have it.
- 1:03:30Like, you know, firstly, you know, the cosplay foam hammer
- 1:03:33and then as it goes on, just drop a few more lead pellets
- 1:03:35into it. Yeah, sounds good.
- 1:03:38So, so Pete can deliver the last blow that puts him.
- 1:03:40In. I mean, even nothing's ever
- 1:03:43going to hurt his head with that giant big boof onto the hair,
- 1:03:46you know, It's just going to bounce off the hair gel.
- 1:03:50I feel more sorry for the person wielding the hammer, you know?
- 1:03:54Anyway, another diversion. So are we done with that one?
- 1:03:59Yes, yes, I am mine aunt is long and still.
- 1:04:02No, no problem. My next one is Ravenna and
- 1:04:07Duban, and my reasoning behind this one is that so.
- 1:04:13Ravenna is trying to get closer to the brood to extract her
- 1:04:17revenge on Vargas, who she believes has it killed her
- 1:04:22parents or killed her family, Yeah.
- 1:04:25Yeah. Killed her family, yeah.
- 1:04:27And Duban is obviously in the Flock, and he's also a Ranger.
- 1:04:30So he's out and about kind of, you know, doing stuff.
- 1:04:32And obviously she's going to maybe meet him that way or
- 1:04:35whatever, you know, while she's kind of, you know, trying to.
- 1:04:38And she understands that the Flock will get her closer to the
- 1:04:42brood because they're in direct conflict with them.
- 1:04:45We know that from the Elithia wave.
- 1:04:49So that's my reasoning behind that.
- 1:04:51So it's a little bit, uh, how would you say, it's a little bit
- 1:04:55kind of bio driven, but I think it makes sense that that
- 1:05:00definitely could be and that's an example of maybe using this
- 1:05:03whole kind of, you know, uh, love and kind of you know,
- 1:05:08relationship thing to actually kind of advance your cause a bit
- 1:05:11further, you know, which is often what it's used for in this
- 1:05:15type of a story, you know, what do you think of that?
- 1:05:20That's pretty good. I can see.
- 1:05:22That happening. Rich, I like the idea.
- 1:05:26Does that, does that because Rich hates Ravenna, the figure.
- 1:05:30So does that. Does that kind of.
- 1:05:33Does that kind of bring her a little bit further up the ranks,
- 1:05:37despite the fact that she's still plotting against The
- 1:05:39Vamps? No.
- 1:05:41She's still crap. But I like, you know, I like the
- 1:05:44idea. I can see that story working.
- 1:05:46OK, Yeah, you think it would be a good?
- 1:05:48Revenge. Like a good revenge story.
- 1:05:50As well it would be a good side plot on the.
- 1:05:53Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:54OK. Gotcha.
- 1:05:56My, my, my part of my problem is I actually did a story with
- 1:06:01Reveno. Well, I thought of a match for
- 1:06:05Reveno as well. Oh cool.
- 1:06:08And I went with, so I'll do that next.
- 1:06:11Yeah, yeah, yeah. With links.
- 1:06:12Yeah, I did, Sir. Andrew and I went with Sir
- 1:06:17Andrew because they so possibly timelines if you looked at it
- 1:06:22properly wouldn't add up but we don't know exactly what the
- 1:06:25timelines are. But Ravenna was kicked out of
- 1:06:33armies of not army Order of ether on or trying to get those
- 1:06:39relics. Those dangerous relics was Sir
- 1:06:42Andrew and MU and she Sorry, and she eventually joined the
- 1:06:47Convocation of Basilia, where Sir Andrew went from the
- 1:06:51Convocation of Basilia to the Order of Ether on.
- 1:06:56So. Maybe.
- 1:06:58Not sure which way they went. In my head Andrew went to the
- 1:07:02Order of Ether on 1st and they built a relationship and he sort
- 1:07:06of taught her a bit about the magic and the you know, and
- 1:07:09these these ancient these relics, the magical relics.
- 1:07:13And then she started to see it as a way of getting back and
- 1:07:17that's what caused tension between them.
- 1:07:19So he had to possibly, you know, dobber in basically that she was
- 1:07:24getting a bit out of hand even though he can't cuz he Well
- 1:07:26because he cared for her and that's what got her kicked out
- 1:07:29of the order of Ether on and but and and because of his former
- 1:07:34life in the convocation of Basilia she was aware that that
- 1:07:38existed. So knew she could go there to
- 1:07:41get what she wanted. Yeah.
- 1:07:43So that was my sort of. That's really cool.
- 1:07:46Yeah, I love that. I do like the whole mail.
- 1:07:48That's a good one. Yeah, definitely and.
- 1:07:52More realistic than some of the ones that we've had.
- 1:07:54Let's be honest. Don't know what you mean.
- 1:08:00Yeah, we've gone, we've gone very realistic and possible in
- 1:08:03the last two, definitely. Yeah.
- 1:08:05They actually makes sense which is that's that's terrible.
- 1:08:10Yeah, we should, we should jump the shark a bit again.
- 1:08:13So, Rich, what have you got next?
- 1:08:15I could. I was going to go sensible and
- 1:08:17realistic as well, but just screw that.
- 1:08:19You guys have done it twice in a row.
- 1:08:21So I'm going to. I'm going to go crazy.
- 1:08:24So my next one is Thrace and Haganon.
- 1:08:27What? You doing here?
- 1:08:32OK, I'm intrigued. Take it further.
- 1:08:35Her bio says that her species are already a corrupt,
- 1:08:39supernatural mingling of flesh and phantasm.
- 1:08:42Therefore my thinking is she's drawn to phantasm.
- 1:08:45Obviously he you know, that's what I regard him as.
- 1:08:48Apparently her favorite colour is blue, so I think that could
- 1:08:51work. How was How was her favorite
- 1:08:54color? How was her favorite color?
- 1:08:55Blue, OK. Just get past the job.
- 1:08:59Sorry. Don't don't dwell on it, yeah.
- 1:09:03And I think Hacknon would just be happy to escape Morgoli,
- 1:09:05quite frankly, so he'd be up for anything.
- 1:09:09So I so I think I think she's drawn towards the phantasms.
- 1:09:14He's desperate. It's a match made in heaven.
- 1:09:17And yeah, there's not much going to happen there because every
- 1:09:20time she tries to go near him, she's just going to kind of go,
- 1:09:23you know, slip. It's just going to be like kind
- 1:09:25of going through. Yeah, it's not a particular
- 1:09:28physical relationship, but. There's an attraction.
- 1:09:31Yeah, OK, I got it. So her favorite color is blue
- 1:09:35like Trevor then? I'm.
- 1:09:40I'm literally not answering that.
- 1:09:43What's that say, John? Why are you saying that?
- 1:09:45You were the last one to create that controversy in the cabal,
- 1:09:48yeah. Yeah, I broke the cabal last
- 1:09:50semester if something was police, so I'm not going down
- 1:09:52that route again. That's funny.
- 1:09:57That's funny. That's funny.
- 1:09:59Yeah, that's funny. One.
- 1:10:00I like it. I like it.
- 1:10:02Yeah. What have you got next?
- 1:10:06My last one actually. Yeah, it's a bit serious again.
- 1:10:10So reading into history and creating something Vitus and
- 1:10:17Neve. OK, tell us Vitus, Bio Vitus.
- 1:10:23That he was a broke Vitus. Vitus yeah mentions he was a
- 1:10:26broken man after the fall of Mercurian and Neve.
- 1:10:32It says she lost everything after the fall.
- 1:10:35Of I see. And she went to go after Atlas
- 1:10:42and but then joined him. So perhaps one of the things
- 1:10:45never lost was Vitus. Vitus.
- 1:10:47However you say Vitus, you know he became broken.
- 1:10:52He became unresponsive. Stop communicating with her.
- 1:10:56I know these are all meant to be love stories, and mine are all
- 1:10:58like broken hearts, I think, aren't they?
- 1:11:00Maybe it's that's that's part of it, yeah.
- 1:11:03You can only speak from your context.
- 1:11:05You know hearts in. The.
- 1:11:09World. It's like every.
- 1:11:09Good musician went to part as soon as he met his, he met his
- 1:11:13true love. You know I.
- 1:11:14Know they all become rubbish. Yeah, in love.
- 1:11:16Totally. Yeah.
- 1:11:17You really your best songs when you're a late teenager and
- 1:11:19everything is going wrong in your life anyway.
- 1:11:22That's it. So yeah, so you know, they split
- 1:11:25up, grow apart, never left to go after adventure and and of
- 1:11:30course that's going to make him feel even worse because and more
- 1:11:33of a shell of a man because he's lost his love and sounds like
- 1:11:36the healing is now started separately in their own worlds.
- 1:11:41Nice. That's good.
- 1:11:43I mean, if you can get past the noble bear thing there, rich,
- 1:11:48no. Yeah, no, I can.
- 1:11:50I actually really like that. And again, Miles thought very
- 1:11:53sensibly about this and connected the dots so their
- 1:11:55griefs brought them together. So I really like that idea.
- 1:11:58Very good. The.
- 1:11:58Griefs push them apart in this case.
- 1:12:02How many do you have left then, rich for us?
- 1:12:06Longish one. Not longish ones, but I've got 3
- 1:12:10lengthier ones and then. OK, you give us another one
- 1:12:13there then. Now I've got possibly 2 left,
- 1:12:15so. OK, I'll save that one for last.
- 1:12:20Well, I do. I apologize about that one when
- 1:12:22it comes to that. Oh, no.
- 1:12:24Yeah, I've lower in the bar here, but never mind.
- 1:12:27OK, on a more believable level. So, Delfina and Sir Elijah.
- 1:12:33OK, yeah, A man of the. Club.
- 1:12:35So yeah. So her bio says she loved the
- 1:12:38fact the Order was enigmatic and mysterious and operated
- 1:12:42secretly. And a woman that's called
- 1:12:44Elijah. Yeah, Sir Elijah is tasked with
- 1:12:47delivering messages, so will often be mysterious and
- 1:12:50operating in secret, so therefore there's an attraction
- 1:12:52there. She's like, interesting.
- 1:12:55Too sneaky people? Therefore, an instant
- 1:12:58attraction. And let's face it, the other the
- 1:13:02other Templar messenger we've got is I've got his name.
- 1:13:08The old. Fella Enoch.
- 1:13:11Enoch or Sir, Eunuch or somebody called him in the post.
- 1:13:15I didn't have the heart to correct them.
- 1:13:16It's like that. That's not how you.
- 1:13:17Felt No. OK, there we go.
- 1:13:19Although that would be a reason for her not to go anywhere near
- 1:13:21him. But yes, so there's an instant
- 1:13:23attraction there. And so Elijah's bio says that he
- 1:13:26is fluent in a variety of tongues.
- 1:13:28And that may have intrigued me, to be honest.
- 1:13:32Rocking yeah Delphina's World? How?
- 1:13:36Many tongues does he have. But that's that's, you know,
- 1:13:42that's with her love of secrecy and mystery and that then
- 1:13:45that's. Yeah, I mean if they're
- 1:13:47obviously, you know, if they're going to write the series at
- 1:13:49some stage there is going to have to be some kind of, you
- 1:13:52know, romantic plots. It can't all just be you know,
- 1:13:56boring battle and kind of you know, there's just going to get
- 1:13:59too much. So there is going to have to be
- 1:14:00some saucy stuff. So I mean this is kind of, you
- 1:14:03know, between the lines here where you have to kind of you
- 1:14:07you are going to go and and the most interesting ones are the
- 1:14:10ones that aren't likely to happen, which is, you know, with
- 1:14:13the Templars, you know, you think, oh, they're all just
- 1:14:18totally kind of, you know, religious and kind of, you know,
- 1:14:20focused on that side of it. But even you saw in Game of
- 1:14:24Thrones, those guys, the Daenerys had the that army.
- 1:14:28One of them, I can't remember the name of them, but they're
- 1:14:30all basically castrated. But they were still able to fall
- 1:14:34in love, you know? So umm, yeah, I I can definitely
- 1:14:39see it. Yeah, why not?
- 1:14:43Right? I got AI, got an interesting one
- 1:14:45here. Umm, the entire congregation of
- 1:14:49Necronominus, it's just all based on love.
- 1:14:57They love their leader. It's just pure, blind love.
- 1:15:02They're following Necronominus. They're all undead, literally.
- 1:15:06It's the love of the leader of the undead.
- 1:15:10It's all a love thing, you know, It's pure blind love in the
- 1:15:16congregation of Necronominus. And that's why they follow
- 1:15:19Necronominus to whatever fate they've already They were
- 1:15:23already dead. So you know they've suffered as
- 1:15:26much as they can, and why would they bother doing anything if it
- 1:15:30wasn't just this blind love for this kind of, uh, leader?
- 1:15:34That's bringing them forth to kind of get to where they want
- 1:15:39to go. I I like that.
- 1:15:45Yeah, Mal is shaking his head. Make.
- 1:15:47Me. Say it.
- 1:15:47What? You're going to make me say it.
- 1:15:49Which is? Because they were.
- 1:15:50They're all brought together by the love of a good bone.
- 1:15:58Yeah, well, that's all they have, you know?
- 1:16:00I mean, yeah, it is. It is.
- 1:16:02It's literally like 2 lads trying to start a fire.
- 1:16:05That's basically what it's going to be like, you know, two bits
- 1:16:12of timber together, trying to create a spark.
- 1:16:16It'd be like all those first dates programs that's on the TV,
- 1:16:19you know? And anytime it doesn't work out.
- 1:16:21But I didn't find a spark between us.
- 1:16:24Jesus, you're having dinner. You know, anyone that wasn't
- 1:16:28entire like in that scenario, anyone that isn't entirely
- 1:16:31offensive and disgusting and awful.
- 1:16:33I'd say, well, I'll go on a second date just to say, you
- 1:16:36know, but they're like, oh, I didn't see you back.
- 1:16:38I don't think I could fall in love and get married, OK, but we
- 1:16:44all, we all work to that standard.
- 1:16:46It ain't ever going to happen. Bit of work, people, bit of
- 1:16:51work. Yeah, you know, I mean love at
- 1:16:54first sight thing. It's very rare, and so yeah, the
- 1:16:58congregation. They're all following the love
- 1:17:01of Necronominus. Yeah, there's like a cult, isn't
- 1:17:04it? So, like, you know, yeah.
- 1:17:05Yeah, it is all about love and. That sort of.
- 1:17:07Thing that's it is. You know you could you could
- 1:17:09apply to any of the weird cults that actually exist in real
- 1:17:12life. You know they're all is.
- 1:17:15And there's often, unfortunately, kind of in a
- 1:17:17sinister way, you know, this guy at the top who's kind of, you
- 1:17:20know, blind, you know, kind of blinded everyone into it.
- 1:17:24And then he's often taken advantage of the people within
- 1:17:27the cult as well, which is awful.
- 1:17:29And yeah, it's all based on that.
- 1:17:31They basically worship and love this leader, you know?
- 1:17:37Rich works well with that whole resurrection thing as well.
- 1:17:40You know, they sort of one minute, they're dead the next.
- 1:17:43Use their erection. Again and it's thanks to him.
- 1:17:52Right, Rich, what you got next? So I'll go for a serious one
- 1:17:57next and say this lives. This love story is Pelvicus and
- 1:18:02anyone at all he can get in his cauldron.
- 1:18:08Absolutely, yeah, 100% agree. Yeah, that could definitely be
- 1:18:13anyone, yeah. Absolutely.
- 1:18:15Anybody on a slightly more serious, but only slightly more.
- 1:18:20Note Gadriel and Magnus at my next one.
- 1:18:25Oh. Not even, not even an Angel can
- 1:18:30resist that beard he has. Let's face it, it's it's a hell
- 1:18:33of a beard. It's.
- 1:18:33A good beard. And he thinks she's the only one
- 1:18:37worthy of him because he basically is a vein.
- 1:18:40So and so in my law. So yeah.
- 1:18:45So he's like, only an angel's good enough for me.
- 1:18:47She's like, Oh my God, that beard.
- 1:18:49Yeah, never mind being all heavenly and this sort of stuff.
- 1:18:51I want a piece of that. That sounds good.
- 1:18:55That sounds good. I had another one here.
- 1:18:58So then this is the last one I think I have.
- 1:19:01So it's as a spirit Bender. And then I thought for some you
- 1:19:07know kind of also I want I saw the Sons of the Red Star as as
- 1:19:15possibly good candidates for using this type of tactic for
- 1:19:19for their means. You know, so obviously you know
- 1:19:23someone in the sun's the Red Star go out and kind of charm
- 1:19:26and we know we will somebody to kind of get them to do what they
- 1:19:30want to do. Uh and then I thought Manisha
- 1:19:34Cinder horn. So they're both kind of blue,
- 1:19:37you know. Uh OK.
- 1:19:39Female, female, fine. And then as a is this kind of
- 1:19:45necromancer and has control of the dead and Manisha is kind of
- 1:19:51going to use her, uh, to kind of maybe get the congregation of
- 1:19:57Necronominus more under control for the sons of the Red Star to
- 1:20:02kind of get to what they want to get.
- 1:20:05Oh, you know. And I think that's more
- 1:20:09interesting as a spirit Bender series level.
- 1:20:12Yeah. As a spirit Bender is more, uh,
- 1:20:15she's more kind of enigmatic and kind of, you know, really hard
- 1:20:19to kind of figure out. And maybe it takes a woman like
- 1:20:24minutiae to actually kind of charm her enough to kind of, you
- 1:20:29know, as a spirit Bender, it's not going to take the obvious
- 1:20:33coming at her, you know. So it's not going to be, you
- 1:20:39know, one of the mostly skeletons anyway within the
- 1:20:43within the Sons of the Red Star. But, you know, so you could
- 1:20:48pick, you could nearly pick any of the kind of other weird.
- 1:20:51But I just thought, you know, Minisha Cinderhorn as a kind of,
- 1:20:54it kind of works together. Uh, for that, for that purpose.
- 1:21:01So, yeah, But I think the overall concept of the Sons of
- 1:21:04the Red Star kind of using this tactic, you know, no, they
- 1:21:10already have to get their way. Yeah, they already have like say
- 1:21:13for example, Sir Gerard, who can kind of, you know, take on the
- 1:21:16form of any character that's already completely sneaky.
- 1:21:22They have the kind of assassins and, you know, the rich guy in
- 1:21:28the Terrace kind of funding them or whatever.
- 1:21:30So yeah, why not have somebody out kind of trying to determine
- 1:21:34the the people to get them on side for their evil ways because
- 1:21:40they want to have finger in all the pies.
- 1:21:46There's a good, good bitter thing in there, definitely so
- 1:21:49basically. We're introducing Smurf Love
- 1:21:52into a mythos, then. Could could well be with similar
- 1:21:55colours, that's for sure, yeah. I've got Azar in one of my last
- 1:22:02couple as well, John, so I'll jump on the back of your Your
- 1:22:05idea is really good and clever. Mine's far more brutal and short
- 1:22:09excuse. Oh, excuse the pun, I didn't
- 1:22:10mean like that. Azzar and Jordan rune Shaper.
- 1:22:16Oh, OK. So my thinking here is that no
- 1:22:20one non magical is foolish enough to go anywhere near her
- 1:22:24because they don't want to get like, you know, melted or and
- 1:22:28into a zombie or some other such weirdness.
- 1:22:31Dwarfs as tough as hell and can take a lot of punishment, and
- 1:22:34I'd imagine she probably dishes out a lot of punishment in a
- 1:22:36relationship, yeah, but he can take it.
- 1:22:39And he's very stubborn, like all dwarfs, and won't be put off by
- 1:22:42our utter craziness. Like it?
- 1:22:45Like it? Yeah, that's a good one.
- 1:22:50Definitely. And we got a bit of dwarf we we
- 1:22:52got the dwarfs in. We didn't want to completely
- 1:22:55ignore them. No, I just thought they were too
- 1:22:59cranky to be bothered with this kind of stuff.
- 1:23:01You know, we good. We good.
- 1:23:10I got. I got one more mile.
- 1:23:12I'd like to apologize in advance.
- 1:23:13This one may make you choke up on your monitor.
- 1:23:19Not a tiller in the bear or something like that.
- 1:23:21It's no, no. I stayed away from any
- 1:23:23bestiality. It was like, no, that's that's
- 1:23:24the line we don't want anywhere near this one is Morgalith and
- 1:23:28Sir Galleron. OK.
- 1:23:32OK, yeah, so Morgilith sees him as another being of great faith,
- 1:23:38which he likes. Obviously they're very
- 1:23:39religiously congregation. He sees her in a way, or he sees
- 1:23:47her as a way to sate his unquenchable thirst for revenge
- 1:23:51against those responsible for mysterious events in his
- 1:23:54troubled past. So he's basically using her to
- 1:23:57get somebody in the congregation who caused the the event that's
- 1:24:01in his buyer opposites attract. And she caught slice of him
- 1:24:06through the eyes of one of her dead soldiers, as you can see
- 1:24:08through their eyes, and was like, oh, I've got a look at
- 1:24:10that guy and he likes thinner women.
- 1:24:15Well, you can't get much thinner than that.
- 1:24:20Indeed. And how, how how was this
- 1:24:25offending Mao? Well, I was thinking he was
- 1:24:28going to be like, yeah, a bit of a skeleton.
- 1:24:29This one's not human. And all this?
- 1:24:31Sorts I think it was. No, he doesn't like the kind of
- 1:24:34blood and Gods kind of stuff. It was more.
- 1:24:37It was more that, I don't know, it was just something about the
- 1:24:40the way that we were describing a a tiller and what's the name
- 1:24:46going at it that was a little bit vomit inducing.
- 1:24:52It was a little too, yeah, I could see what you meant.
- 1:24:55And he It would have been weird. Gwen Gwen Dillo was too much for
- 1:25:00you ML. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:04So there you go. That's love in the land of
- 1:25:06Mythos. Maybe as maybe next Valentine's
- 1:25:10we can talk about love in Kozmirian.
- 1:25:13That would be fun. Yep, we will have a few more
- 1:25:17characters by then. Maybe we'll know a bit more
- 1:25:20about their interactions. We know there's one definite
- 1:25:24relationship, a husband and wife and because.
- 1:25:26That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we can
- 1:25:28definitely, yeah, we can definitely say that that exists.
- 1:25:30So there's going to be some, there's going to be some
- 1:25:33desperate characters on the Ox crew, isn't there, with them
- 1:25:35trapped on that planet. So anything could go on that?
- 1:25:41Right. I I thought we'd finish tonight
- 1:25:43maybe just with a short little and and maybe it the the the
- 1:25:51guy's name can relate to the topic of discussion from
- 1:25:54tonight. But uh, did you see that Hasbro
- 1:25:57announced their results or at least indicated the results of
- 1:26:02the market for end of year 2024. So uh their CEO, Chris Cox,
- 1:26:08which I thought kind of fitted the team for tonight.
- 1:26:14So their, you know, their profits were down 48% last year.
- 1:26:19So which is interesting for the toy industry now don't cry all
- 1:26:25the tears that you have because they still made 407 million
- 1:26:29profits, you know, So I think this is what's wrong with the
- 1:26:34world in a way. And you know when you see this,
- 1:26:36you just think, OK, the toy industry is screwed or whatever.
- 1:26:39GI Joe did get a mention in one of the lines that's actually
- 1:26:42doing really well for them. I think it was their their D&D.
- 1:26:48So Wizards of the coasts, they own that which is basically the
- 1:26:51the DID&DIP and for Magic of the Gathering and all that kind of
- 1:26:55stuff, they actually did really well for them.
- 1:26:57So that's where they made the money on.
- 1:26:59And also this Boulder's Gate Three was a very big success for
- 1:27:02them and but since 2022 they've returned almost 1 billion to
- 1:27:09shareholders. You know so like this is the
- 1:27:13bullshit about shareholder value and kind of why these com like
- 1:27:17that's just money down the drain for that company.
- 1:27:19OK, I know they have shareholders but the
- 1:27:20shareholders you can give them zero, they'll just sell your
- 1:27:24shares. I mean you shouldn't give a shit
- 1:27:26about them in a way, in my opinion and I this is someone
- 1:27:29that's worked in investment funds for a lot of their career,
- 1:27:34OK. It's important you know you are
- 1:27:36responsible for shareholders whatever, but to a certain
- 1:27:39extent returning them 1 billion and then turning around a year
- 1:27:42later and saying Oh yeah we're profits are down or whatever.
- 1:27:46Well maybe you should have used that money a bit more wisely you
- 1:27:49know and there's always shareholders for your company.
- 1:27:53So I I think that's that's my spin on the context for for you
- 1:27:58know people are going to see the headlines and think all the toy
- 1:28:01industries and the toilets or whatever and and you know they
- 1:28:05say they have reduced their inventories and they have
- 1:28:07reduced all this stuff that that's just good business.
- 1:28:10They're they're just actually running their business properly
- 1:28:12if they're doing that kind of stuff and they weren't running
- 1:28:15it properly before if they weren't doing that and they had
- 1:28:17too much in inventory, you know. So it's, uh, just an interesting
- 1:28:22kind of context and it also contrasts vastly with what we're
- 1:28:26dealing with here with the Four Horsemen and the smaller company
- 1:28:29really focused on collectors and whatever.
- 1:28:32And but I just, I just, I guess from my perspective and you
- 1:28:36know, because we have a podcast, I mean, I just want to, you
- 1:28:39know, people will read the headlines there and think, oh,
- 1:28:42it's the end of the world for toy collecting, whatever.
- 1:28:45I don't think it really is. I think it's just a company like
- 1:28:49Hasbro that's kind of, you know, just really lazy in terms of how
- 1:28:54they operate. And when the good times are
- 1:28:56good, like a bad government, they just spend, spend, spend
- 1:29:00and then suddenly their trousers gets pulled down and kind of,
- 1:29:03you know, they have a couple of bad quarters and it's like, oh,
- 1:29:06we'll have a whole lot of people, which is awful for those
- 1:29:08people. And that's what's terrible about
- 1:29:10this whole thing. And and you know, they're still
- 1:29:14making 407 million profit and there's some guy that's earning,
- 1:29:18you know, 30, forty $50,000 a year that's, you know, looking
- 1:29:23for a job at the moment because you know, these idiots don't
- 1:29:25know how to run their company properly.
- 1:29:28So it's a it's it's a pity, you know, but there is, you know,
- 1:29:35there is things that they do that are great.
- 1:29:37You know, obviously, you know the the D&D stuff they're
- 1:29:41looking after lines like GLG are great.
- 1:29:43I mean we've talked about on our one of our patron episodes how
- 1:29:46good that line is and if they could do more kind of good
- 1:29:50stuff. I don't think that brings them.
- 1:29:52Of course it brings them a lot of money, but I don't think it
- 1:29:54brings them the big box. It's not going to be the
- 1:29:56difference here, but it just shows that they can actually
- 1:30:01produce the kind of stuff. But when you guys hear something
- 1:30:05like that, what do you think? Like, you know.
- 1:30:10Yeah, and doing lines like GI Joe in my head, it it engenders
- 1:30:14good faith with people. It's like, you know, we started
- 1:30:18off making this a modern GI Joe line.
- 1:30:20It died on its arse very quickly.
- 1:30:22Therefore, we've gone back to more traditional stuff.
- 1:30:25You're all loving it. We're we're In Sync with you.
- 1:30:27You know, we're putting out the characters you want.
- 1:30:29You know, they'd not be messing around with the characters.
- 1:30:31There's a couple of minor ones, but they've generally been
- 1:30:33chucking out well known characters.
- 1:30:36So it's it's like they, you know, that makes people like
- 1:30:40Hasbro, but then they'll shoot themselves in the foot and do
- 1:30:43other things like laying people off, you know?
- 1:30:45Oh well if you lay off 10,000 people, we can make another 30
- 1:30:48million profit when it's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's
- 1:30:52not the way to do it. But then the problem is it's a
- 1:30:55few people have said this, you know, they're a business.
- 1:30:57They don't give a monkeys about the toys or the lines or
- 1:31:02anything. Generally it's a case of we want
- 1:31:04to make money. Yeah, it's clear that as I, as I
- 1:31:07think what I said described they just care about the
- 1:31:10shareholders, you know, so to just remember that when you hear
- 1:31:15about it, you know 407 million profit is not good enough for
- 1:31:18them. You know it's all about that's a
- 1:31:22percentage lower than the previous year.
- 1:31:24So it's rubbish. You know, that is the shame
- 1:31:28here, you know, and I'm not trying to be a socialist or a
- 1:31:31communist about it, but like that is how it works, you know,
- 1:31:35that is how that whole thing works.
- 1:31:38So always think, you know, if they say they make a loss and
- 1:31:42and like they they rolled off 1 billion for some other thing,
- 1:31:45you know. So this is a bookkeeping entry,
- 1:31:47you know, so this is kind of the stuff you're talking about here.
- 1:31:52This isn't like we've sold less of this and less of that.
- 1:31:55It's it's literally just, you know, it's a whole load of kind
- 1:32:00of accounting and kind of bullshit.
- 1:32:02And yeah, some things are not selling as well for them as
- 1:32:05before, but that's their fault. That's not your eyes fault
- 1:32:09because we haven't bought it. It's their fault for producing
- 1:32:14crap that no one wants to buy, you know?
- 1:32:16And when they do produce stuff that loads of people want to
- 1:32:18buy, I mean, there's loads of great GI Joe figures, for
- 1:32:22example, sitting on Hasbro Pulse that are sold out.
- 1:32:25Make more of them. You'll sell another one of them
- 1:32:27if you want to be arsed, you know, you know, if that's what
- 1:32:33you want. If you want to make money, make
- 1:32:35more of them. Don't be turning around to me
- 1:32:36and saying, oh, I care about the collectors.
- 1:32:38We don't want to screw over the collectors because, uh, you
- 1:32:41know, the ones that have got them and are exclusive and they
- 1:32:43can sell them for double on eBay, you know, we don't want to
- 1:32:46bother them if we know you just want to make you're just
- 1:32:49interested in money. Make more of the ones that we
- 1:32:51want, you know, You know, we all, we all love the dread
- 1:32:56knocks in GI Joe. Make them all, you know, Make
- 1:32:58loads of them. Make color variants of them.
- 1:33:01We'll buy them all, you know? Yeah.
- 1:33:04Oh, and I mean, there's so many figures to come from GI Joe as
- 1:33:08well, isn't there? Yeah.
- 1:33:09And touched on some of the the originals, so.
- 1:33:12Yeah, I was looking through that that site that I used for the
- 1:33:16for our classified discussion. They have also the vintage
- 1:33:19figures on it. There's a lot of good stuff
- 1:33:22there. Yeah, I mean, Rich, you're
- 1:33:23obviously way more familiar than it with it than me.
- 1:33:26So, I mean, a lot of it won't be surprised for you, but there's a
- 1:33:30lot of good stuff they can be making, you know?
- 1:33:32And there's a lot of small sized, you know, not much bigger
- 1:33:38than bikes, not smaller than the Is it the Ram they did they're
- 1:33:44doing forget what the vehicles they could do as well.
- 1:33:49Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:33:51And hopefully they'll now, I was going to say hopefully there's
- 1:33:55not be more of those smaller vehicles now, yeah.
- 1:33:58Look at the Todd. Father, The first one, so.
- 1:34:00Look at the Todd father, that skeleton bat cycle he did.
- 1:34:03People went mental for that, you know.
- 1:34:07And what the Todd do we just turned on the the printers and
- 1:34:10kept going, you know he did loads more of it.
- 1:34:13Yeah, you know, anyway, the whole.
- 1:34:16Hasbro thing and the shareholders thing, it it, it
- 1:34:19reminds me of Toys-R-Us. So when Toys-R-Us went belly up,
- 1:34:22everyone was like, Oh yeah, there's no market for physical
- 1:34:25toy stores. Yes, the market's obviously gone
- 1:34:27down, but everyone just skirted past the fact that the region,
- 1:34:30Toys R reason rather Toys-R-Us went bust.
- 1:34:33Is it was because the finance. Yeah, they.
- 1:34:35Leveraged their business. The hedge, yeah.
- 1:34:37The hedge fund that bought them leveraged all their debt onto
- 1:34:39Toys-R-Us. Yeah, so that they bank they
- 1:34:42bought Toys-R-Us, then bankrupted it and made 30 odd
- 1:34:45thousand people redundant. Yeah, it's just ridiculous.
- 1:34:50It's got nothing to do with reality of life and who's buying
- 1:34:53toys and that sort of stuff. It's just some.
- 1:34:55Yeah, it's amazing. It's like I worked in the.
- 1:34:59I worked in the investment fund industry.
- 1:35:01And the reason I didn't want to go into the private equity
- 1:35:04industry, which was is very lucrative in terms of getting a
- 1:35:07good job there is because of all this crap that they do.
- 1:35:12You know, you'll have a great job doing the, you know,
- 1:35:15whatever for the private equity company.
- 1:35:17But like they're gutting, you know, they're buying investments
- 1:35:21and just trimming the crap out of them for three or four years
- 1:35:25and dumping them off for a profit.
- 1:35:27And then they move on and they're very good at that.
- 1:35:30And sometimes the businesses need that and you'd see the
- 1:35:33likes of a football club or, you know, some sports team that you
- 1:35:37know that can work for. But, you know, there's there's
- 1:35:42real people involved that, you know, you know, they go into a
- 1:35:45football club and they fire, you know, four of the five cleaners,
- 1:35:49you know, and then they've only one cleaning lady and she's
- 1:35:52having to, you know, kill herself doing all the work.
- 1:35:55And there's four people who have a job, you know, and that's how
- 1:35:58they trim costs, you know, it's that principle just extended the
- 1:36:00whole way across. But yeah, that's what happened
- 1:36:04to Toys-R-Us. You're exactly right.
- 1:36:05Someone met a bad bet. The market went the wrong way
- 1:36:07and all these toy shops closed and of course companies came in
- 1:36:11and bought the franchise or the business and the stock.
- 1:36:13And you know, umm, somehow that kind of went on.
- 1:36:18But yeah, there it goes. And anyway as the hamster takes
- 1:36:23another drink of the water, Rich, I'm going to bring us all
- 1:36:29to a close and I think we should we should go out in another
- 1:36:36little. We should go out we should play
- 1:36:37the full version of the love song that we played at the
- 1:36:40start, which I thought from. Yeah.
- 1:36:43So happy Valentine's week everyone.
- 1:36:45Hope you had a great one. We'll talk to you next week,
- 1:36:48hopefully. I think I might have boxes in
- 1:36:50hand by the time we record next week.
- 1:36:52You never know. So we can oh I'm getting the so
- 1:36:56we can definitely talk a little bit more about that and see what
- 1:36:59happens. And we'll of course talk a bit
- 1:37:01more about the retailer wave and what's happening, you know so.
- 1:37:04Yeah, very excited to be talking about that in the future,
- 1:37:08definitely. Definitely.
- 1:37:09So take it away. What is love?
- 1:37:11Which way? The window?
- 1:37:12The way your. Smiles show what's on your mind.
- 1:37:27All the heart knows which way your love knows.
- 1:37:33Just how your love grows over time.
- 1:37:39All the heart No heart knows I've been wandering down a dead
- 1:37:51end, St. through every world of sorrow and deceit.
- 1:38:00And all along it was you I longed to mean.
- 1:38:06And when I saw you I knew I was complete Because of heart.
- 1:38:15Of heart? No.
- 1:38:20I was searching.
