- 0:00Speaker 1: Woo!
- 0:01Speaker 2: Stu Gatz.
- 0:01Speaker 3: Woo!
- 0:02Speaker 4: I gotta be honest with you, Bruce, there's a good
- 0:03Speaker 4: chance I'd be high anyway.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Woo!
- 0:05Speaker 2: And I'm wondering how the football weekend was. Were you
- 0:07Speaker 2: able to watch it? Wow, what happened? Oh, I'm tired
- 0:12Speaker 2: of him. I'm serious. How about that?
- 0:14Speaker 5: In company. We are mother shuckers, baby.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Woo!
- 0:17Speaker 1: Bruce, does Faison Brandon's name sound like it's on backwards?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's time to get your.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's time to get your financials. To get the all boat.
- 0:28Speaker 1: You got nothing right there. This is not going well.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is Stu Gotts and Company.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Stu, back to you.
- 0:36Speaker 4: It is Tugatsa Company presented by FanDuel and the FanDuel Sportsbook.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Taylor has a one table revolving around last night's game.
- 0:42Speaker 4: One table, a bit we haven't pulled out in probably
- 0:46Speaker 4: a couple of months here. I'm looking forward to that
- 0:48Speaker 4: very much more, mostly because I missed the imaging. What
- 0:51Speaker 4: was the biggest story from last night's game, Mikey? Was
- 0:55Speaker 4: it the Bears winning with Case Keenum at quarterback or
- 0:58Speaker 4: the Eagles losing to a team that was quarterbacked by
- 1:01Speaker 4: Case Keenum?
- 1:04Speaker 6: I mean it's the eagles for me the eagles were
- 1:07Speaker 6: as bad a team yesterday as i've seen all week
- 1:12Speaker 6: and that includes the patriots who got dominated by the
- 1:15Speaker 6: jacksonville jaguars the the philadelphia eagles looked absolutely lost on
- 1:20Speaker 6: offense they look like their defense thought that the bears
- 1:24Speaker 6: were just going to roll over and give them the
- 1:26Speaker 6: game because case keenan was starting.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Right and.
- 1:30Speaker 6: They were like, okay, we're just going to stop the run.
- 1:33Speaker 6: And not only did they not do it that well,
- 1:36Speaker 6: but Case Keenum picked them apart to the point where
- 1:40Speaker 6: at one point I looked up and they started a
- 1:44Speaker 6: drive at the start of the fourth quarter, literally at
- 1:47Speaker 6: the start of the fourth quarter. And by the time
- 1:49Speaker 6: the Eagles got the ball, there was like six and
- 1:51Speaker 6: a half, seven minutes left. And I'm like, how do
- 1:54Speaker 6: you let Case Keenum run that drive on you from
- 1:58Speaker 6: the 50-yard line?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yep.
- 2:00Speaker 4: We made a big deal about Case Keenum last night.
- 2:03Speaker 4: I'm not certain we should have been making such a
- 2:04Speaker 4: big deal about Case Keenum last night.
- 2:06Speaker 2: He did what a backup is supposed to do. We
- 2:08Speaker 2: kept him afloat.
- 2:09Speaker 4: In fact, he might be an early candidate for a
- 2:13Speaker 4: floaty award along with Drew Locke.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Last night when I'm watching that game, my only thought
- 2:18Speaker 1: was there can't be 32 better quarterbacks in the NFL
- 2:22Speaker 1: than Case Keenum because Case Keenum was out there.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm not certain there's 20 better quarterbacks.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Case Keenum was out there lighting it up, and I
- 2:28Speaker 1: think it says more about Ben Johnson at this point
- 2:31Speaker 1: where that's two years in a row now, Mikey, that
- 2:33Speaker 1: Ben Johnson has stuffed Vic Fangio in a locker where
- 2:37Speaker 1: last year you mentioned it, the Bears rushed for six
- 2:39Speaker 1: yards a carry, 281 yards, and Fangio came into this
- 2:42Speaker 1: one saying, We're going to dare Case Keenum to beat us.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And Case Keenum shredded the Eagles apart. And that's why, Stu,
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's why when we were talking about who deserves more
- 2:53Speaker 1: credit when it comes to Caleb Williams or Ben Johnson,
- 2:56Speaker 1: they're both responsible for this Bears turnaround. But yesterday is
- 3:00Speaker 1: why I'm picking Ben Johnson every time, because Bears fans
- 3:03Speaker 1: can take solace that as long as he's your offensive
- 3:06Speaker 1: play caller, he is going to find ways to compromise
- 3:09Speaker 1: the defense he's going against.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I know, but it's one game for Case Keenum. There's
- 3:13Speaker 4: a body of work with Caleb Williams. There's a reason
- 3:15Speaker 4: Case Keenum hasn't played in a decade.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but there's a reason why Case Keenum cannot play
- 3:20Speaker 1: since 2023 and look like he did yesterday, where that
- 3:23Speaker 1: first drive from Ben Johnson was surgical, where five different
- 3:27Speaker 1: receivers touched the ball, they marched right up the field,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and I think the Eagles went into that game saying,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we're going to walk over this team, and then right
- 3:34Speaker 1: away from that first drive, that was the Bears kind
- 3:35Speaker 1: of setting the tone, saying, Eagles... You have your work
- 3:38Speaker 1: cut out for you tonight.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Mikey, why are you shaking your head over there?
- 3:42Speaker 6: Because I'm looking at some of these numbers in the game,
- 3:45Speaker 6: and the Bears had 14 passing first downs. They were
- 3:51Speaker 6: just like, we can beat you with Case Keenum, and
- 3:55Speaker 6: the Eagles had nothing they could do about it.
- 3:59Speaker 4: How bad did you feel for Andy Dalton, who got
- 4:01Speaker 4: one snap, one play, threw one pass, and it was
- 4:04Speaker 4: an interception in the end zone? Jalen Hurts came out
- 4:06Speaker 4: of the blue tent just railing against the doctors. How
- 4:10Speaker 4: dare you put me in that tent when we're in
- 4:12Speaker 4: scoring position?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Just the one thing you can't do if you're Andy
- 4:16Speaker 1: Dalton in that situation is turn the ball over. Live
- 4:19Speaker 1: to see another day. Kick the field goal. Nick Sirianni,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you can make the argument that Nick Sirianni should have
- 4:25Speaker 1: taken a timeout in that situation to give Jalen Hurts
- 4:28Speaker 1: more time because it seemed like Jalen Hurts was reluctant
- 4:31Speaker 1: to go in the 10. It didn't seem like he
- 4:33Speaker 1: necessarily needed to go into the 10, and it was
- 4:35Speaker 1: probably going to be a quick trip after he got
- 4:37Speaker 1: checked out there. But then ultimately, the Eagles did wind
- 4:41Speaker 1: up needing those timeouts to even get that tush push
- 4:44Speaker 1: off at the end of the first half.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Yep.
- 4:47Speaker 6: In regards to that, this is a product– of players
- 4:52Speaker 6: not self-checking themselves when they get a concussion because Jalen Hurts'
- 4:57Speaker 6: head was never hit.
- 4:58Speaker 5: He was hit on the shoulder. He didn't bang his
- 5:00Speaker 5: head on the floor.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It was a bad hit.
- 5:01Speaker 6: I mean, he got hit pretty good. I mean, it
- 5:04Speaker 6: was a good hit, but there was no sign of
- 5:06Speaker 6: a concussion. There was no reason to think he had
- 5:08Speaker 6: a concussion when you watch the play. The problem is,
- 5:12Speaker 6: because players don't self-check themselves, because they don't volunteer, hey,
- 5:16Speaker 6: I got hit in the head, I need to be checked,
- 5:18Speaker 6: the ref has no choice but to bring you out there.
- 5:21Speaker 5: And... I get why.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Jalen Hurts is mad because his head wasn't hit, but
- 5:26Speaker 6: he still needs to be checked because the refs have
- 5:29Speaker 6: to take care of them.
- 5:30Speaker 4: So you're saying have enough awareness where, hey, I got
- 5:33Speaker 4: hit pretty hard. I know I have to go to
- 5:34Speaker 4: the blue tent. Let's just get it over with and
- 5:36Speaker 4: save as much time as.
- 5:38Speaker 2: We can, right?
- 5:38Speaker 5: Sure.
- 5:39Speaker 4: And then maybe he's in for that play where Andy
- 5:41Speaker 4: Dalton throws the interception in the end zone.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I think it's an extremely worrying sign for the Philadelphia
- 5:47Speaker 1: Eagles team that Case Keenum walks in off the street
- 5:50Speaker 1: And severely outplays Jalen Hurts where Keenum becomes only the
- 5:54Speaker 1: second player age 38 or older to throw multiple TDs
- 5:59Speaker 1: and rush for a TD in primetime.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The other?
- 6:02Speaker 1: Tom Brady in 2018.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Yes. Put him on the same level.
- 6:06Speaker 1: He also joined Ryan. It's the first time Case Keenum
- 6:09Speaker 1: and Tom Brady have ever been mentioned in the same sentence.
- 6:12Speaker 4: And it should be the only time that we ever
- 6:13Speaker 4: mention those two in the same sentence.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Case Keenum joined Ryan Fitzpatrick as the only quarterbacks to
- 6:18Speaker 1: win starts for seven different NFL teams.
- 6:22Speaker 2: That's a better name to associate Case Keenum with. Perfect.
- 6:26Speaker 1: If I'm the New York Giants today and the New
- 6:28Speaker 1: York Giants made news yesterday trading for J.J. McCarthy, I
- 6:32Speaker 1: pull a Max Crosby Ravens Raiders deal, and I say, hey,
- 6:37Speaker 1: guess what, guys? Sorry, we found something in J.J. McCarthy's
- 6:40Speaker 1: medical that we didn't like. Let's send him back to Minnesota,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and let's reroute that fifth-round pick to Chicago for Case Keenum. Now,
- 6:47Speaker 1: my worry is with Case Keenum, you lose the Ben
- 6:51Speaker 1: Johnson factor, and now it's Matt Nagy that you're relying
- 6:53Speaker 1: on getting the most out of Case Keenum.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Right.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I mean, his love for Ben Johnson is unwavering. Anyway,
- 6:58Speaker 2: go ahead, Mikey.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Hey.
- 7:01Speaker 6: Hey, Vikings, I got the X-ray on J.J. McCarthy's arm,
- 7:05Speaker 6: and it turns out he's terrible.
- 7:06Speaker 2: We need to back out of this.
- 7:09Speaker 5: He came down with a case of terrible.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Yes. I'm trying to think of the Case Keenum joke there. But, Taylor,
- 7:20Speaker 4: let's do it this way. I understand what you're saying
- 7:22Speaker 4: about Ben Johnson, offensive genius.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I get it. And I'm not really down.
- 7:26Speaker 4: To discuss who deserves most of the credit for the Bears' success.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Both guys deserve credit for their success. but if Case
- 7:34Speaker 4: Keenum were the quarterback for the Chicago Bears and there
- 7:37Speaker 4: was no Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson would not be the
- 7:40Speaker 4: head coach of the Chicago Bears.
- 7:42Speaker 2: You're acting like he could do it with any quarterback,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and he can't.
- 7:44Speaker 1: No, I don't think he could do it with any
- 7:47Speaker 1: quarterback per se, but Ben Johnson as your offensive play
- 7:51Speaker 1: caller is going to raise your team's ceiling.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Agreed, yes.
- 7:53Speaker 1: If you have a quarterback like Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you're talking Super Bowl. If you have Ben Johnson paired
- 7:59Speaker 1: with Case Keenum, you're talking, what, maybe like a 9-10
- 8:03Speaker 1: win team. So there's obviously a gap there in terms
- 8:06Speaker 1: of quarterback, but I think it's a stark contrast between
- 8:10Speaker 1: your coaches in Philadelphia right now and your coaches in Chicago,
- 8:13Speaker 1: where Nick Sirianni is about as CEO-style an NFL head
- 8:17Speaker 1: coach as it could get. He's not bringing an offensive system.
- 8:19Speaker 1: He's not bringing you a defensive system. His biggest contribution, Sirianni, is...
- 8:24Speaker 1: for the X's and O's factor is choosing the people
- 8:27Speaker 1: who handle the X's and O's. And if that's your
- 8:29Speaker 1: biggest football responsibility, you have to nail those hires. And
- 8:33Speaker 1: Sirianni now the past two years seems like he's failed
- 8:36Speaker 1: on having the right offensive mind leading his offense.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I think the best example, Mikey, of why Ben Johnson
- 8:42Speaker 4: is such a great coach is not what he's done
- 8:44Speaker 4: with Chicago.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's how pedestrian the Lions have been since he's left. Right.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Just as a team.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I don't know how the offensive numbers stack up when
- 8:52Speaker 4: he was there as as opposed to when he left
- 8:54Speaker 4: to go to Chicago. But Jared Goff and that team,
- 8:57Speaker 4: they've been good. They just haven't been great when they
- 8:59Speaker 4: were there. They were kind of Super Bowl great.
- 9:01Speaker 2: In the hunt.
- 9:02Speaker 6: You know, I agree with Taylor that that Ben Johnson
- 9:06Speaker 6: raises your ceiling. Of course, Ben Johnson can can take
- 9:09Speaker 6: any quarterback and scheme for a game or two to
- 9:13Speaker 6: to put them in the best position to win. But
- 9:16Speaker 6: I would question on the other side, on the Eagles side,
- 9:19Speaker 6: if it is Nick Sirianni or Sean Mannion, their offensive coordinator,
- 9:23Speaker 6: and it's not Jalen Hurts who notoriously throws plays out
- 9:28Speaker 6: when they try and install it.
- 9:30Speaker 5: He goes, nope, I don't like doing this. Nope, I'm
- 9:32Speaker 5: not doing this. Nope, I'm not doing this. And you
- 9:34Speaker 5: saw a lot in that game.
- 9:36Speaker 6: I mean– Jalen Hurts is only going to throw what
- 9:40Speaker 6: Jalen Hurts wants to throw.
- 9:42Speaker 5: He's only going to run the plays he wants to play.
- 9:44Speaker 6: I was looking at third and twelves and him throwing
- 9:47Speaker 6: four yards out because he'd rather take that short completion
- 9:51Speaker 6: and then jog to the sideline than he would be
- 9:54Speaker 6: trying to take a shot. The one time I saw
- 9:57Speaker 6: him throw the ball down the field, it was fourth
- 9:59Speaker 6: and 22. 22 and he threw it out of bounds.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Right. They caught a break last night with Tyson Bajet
- 10:05Speaker 2: not being available. Right.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what he would have done.
- 10:12Speaker 1: If he's the second string quarterback in case Keenum's the
- 10:15Speaker 1: third string quarterback, Tyson Bajet must be looking at himself today. Like, man,
- 10:18Speaker 1: That could have been my Monday night football moment.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Case Keenum has moved up a notch in the pecking
- 10:23Speaker 4: order in the quarterback room.
- 10:24Speaker 2: He has a different chair now.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I think Case Keenum is the best backup quarterback in
- 10:27Speaker 1: the NFL right now.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Oh, stop it.
- 10:29Speaker 4: I mean, he is an early candidate for a floaty,
- 10:31Speaker 4: but best backup in the NFL?
- 10:34Speaker 1: The backup quarterbacks right now are having a moment in
- 10:36Speaker 1: the NFL.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Well, they are because the good ones keep getting there.
- 10:38Speaker 2: There's so many of them.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But backup quarterbacks, I have this note. Backup quarterbacks in
- 10:44Speaker 1: the NFL this year when they have to start games
- 10:46Speaker 1: are Five and two. Marcus Mariota got a win. Jameis
- 10:50Speaker 1: Winston got a win. Case Keenum got a win. Carson
- 10:52Speaker 1: Wentz got a win. Drew Locke got a win. And
- 10:55Speaker 1: then Cooper Rush got both losses.
- 10:56Speaker 4: I'm almost hoping Geno Smith gets hurt.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Can we call Michael Penix a backup?
- 11:02Speaker 4: Yes. I think Michael Penix would have been the starter.
- 11:06Speaker 5: I think they wanted Tua to start this season.
- 11:09Speaker 2: No, but he started the game, I'm saying.
- 11:11Speaker 4: I think Taylor's saying if a guy, if the starting
- 11:13Speaker 4: quarterback gets hurt during the game, the backup comes in.
- 11:15Speaker 3: No.
- 11:16Speaker 1: The next week when the backup is the starter.
- 11:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Because then Carson Wentz would get an extra win because
- 11:21Speaker 1: Carson Wentz came in.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 11:22Speaker 1: In relief in week one.
- 11:23Speaker 5: So would Drew Locke.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So would Drew Locke.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Wait, so you're saying they only have one win? Is
- 11:28Speaker 2: that what we're saying?
- 11:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Okay, so Locke has a win.
- 11:31Speaker 1: And Wentz has a win.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And Keenum has a win. Does anyone have two wins?
- 11:37Speaker 1: No, no backup quarterback has two wins.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Okay, it's only week four.
- 11:42Speaker 6: If you're the Falcons, are you side-eyeing Drew Locke or
- 11:46Speaker 6: Cooper Rush right now? Like, dude, look at all these
- 11:49Speaker 6: backup quarterbacks and look how good they made their team
- 11:52Speaker 6: when they needed them to be.
- 11:53Speaker 2: And you have weapons.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Look what you did. Look what you did.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And you have Drake London.
- 11:59Speaker 6: And B.
- 11:59Speaker 5: John Robinson.
- 12:03Speaker 4: So the Bears are two and one. The Bears are
- 12:06Speaker 4: two and one. The Eagles are two and one. The Eagles,
- 12:09Speaker 4: their schedule is brutal coming up here. They have the
- 12:12Speaker 4: Rams coming up who need a win. They have Jacksonville
- 12:15Speaker 4: coming up at Philadelphia. They have Carolina, who's a roller coaster.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I have no idea what to expect from them. And
- 12:21Speaker 4: then they have Dallas. So they do have a tough
- 12:23Speaker 4: schedule coming up here. I'm not going to bail on
- 12:25Speaker 4: Jalen Hurts after one bad game. It was a bad game.
- 12:28Speaker 1: No, I don't think you bail on Jalen Hurts just
- 12:29Speaker 1: because you have the proof of concept. When he has
- 12:32Speaker 1: an offensive coordinator like Kellen Moore, his ceiling is being
- 12:36Speaker 1: a Super Bowl winning quarterback. Now, if you want to
- 12:39Speaker 1: credit it to The receivers he had, the offensive line,
- 12:42Speaker 1: the defense. Jalen Hurts was still the quarterback when the
- 12:44Speaker 1: Eagles won the Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts could still, with
- 12:46Speaker 1: the right pieces around him, win the Super Bowl. But
- 12:49Speaker 1: this Eagles team right now could very easily be 1-2.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And it feels like we almost shrugged that Titans game
- 12:56Speaker 1: off in Week 2, saying, oh, it was just a
- 12:58Speaker 1: good team having a bad afternoon. And now after that
- 13:01Speaker 1: Bears game, it's looking more like it was a warning
- 13:03Speaker 1: sign that we ignored because of just the logo on
- 13:06Speaker 1: the Eagles helmet and the track record. of the people
- 13:09Speaker 1: involved in that game.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Mikey, you feel the same way?
- 13:12Speaker 4: You guys seem concerned about the Eagles here, which is
- 13:14Speaker 4: super interesting to me. Not the Bears with the injured quarterback,
- 13:16Speaker 4: but the Eagles who have the healthy Super Bowl champion quarterback.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Possibly because of how good they've been for so long.
- 13:26Speaker 5: The Eagles are not passing the eye test at this point.
- 13:28Speaker 6: They're 2-1, but I have not watched them and thought
- 13:32Speaker 6: that's a dominant team. I thought that's a team that
- 13:34Speaker 6: is squeaking by because they're just more talented. But at
- 13:39Speaker 6: some point, that isn't going to keep up. I think
- 13:42Speaker 6: Jalen Hurts has regressed as a quarterback. I think Saquon
- 13:45Speaker 6: Barkley is still not the same guy he was two
- 13:48Speaker 6: years ago when he was an offensive player of the year.
- 13:52Speaker 5: I think that defense has got some holes.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yep, and no A.J. Brown, yes.
- 13:56Speaker 1: When you're looking at Nick Sirianni, he got the Kevin
- 13:58Speaker 1: Petullo hire dead wrong, and Sean Mannion's now tracking towards
- 14:02Speaker 1: being wrong. And this is part of the danger of
- 14:05Speaker 1: a team like Philadelphia, where their reputation as a team
- 14:09Speaker 1: makes you try to explain away past performances and when
- 14:12Speaker 1: instead you'd be sounding an alarm. And at some point,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you do have to stop giving the Eagles team credit
- 14:17Speaker 1: for what previous Eagle teams have accomplished and start judging
- 14:20Speaker 1: them for what they've actually done. And with this Eagles team,
- 14:23Speaker 1: the staple for these Eagles teams with Sirianni, at least
- 14:27Speaker 1: in the past, has been you have a defense that
- 14:30Speaker 1: can win you games. And now you're looking at the
- 14:32Speaker 1: personnel that the Eagles have lost in this offseason. Jalen Phillips,
- 14:35Speaker 1: N'Kobe Dean, Reed Blankenship. This is not a defense that
- 14:38Speaker 1: can win you games anymore.
- 14:40Speaker 4: So the Bears, you guys are fine there. They're a
- 14:43Speaker 4: good football team. They're going to be okay. They win
- 14:45Speaker 4: a game with Case Keenum. They'll get Caleb Williams back eventually,
- 14:48Speaker 4: maybe three to four weeks. Everything's fine in Chicago.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I love this.
- 14:51Speaker 4: But you're laughing because you think he doesn't want to
- 14:53Speaker 4: go back to Caleb Williams.
- 14:54Speaker 1: There might be a quarterback controversy.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Mikey, Mikey, I'm.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Not saying there's a quarterback controversy.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Are you guys out of your minds?
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm not saying.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He's 38 years old.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I'm not saying there's a reason he.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Hasn't played in a decade.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Case Keenum.
- 15:09Speaker 1: All I'm saying is that initially when the Caleb Williams
- 15:12Speaker 1: injury news came out, Bears fans were probably like, we
- 15:15Speaker 1: have to speed this along. And then they get the
- 15:18Speaker 1: diagnosis that it's just a grade two hamstring hamstring strain
- 15:21Speaker 1: and not a season ending injury. And Bears fans were
- 15:23Speaker 1: able to take a deep breath, a sigh of relief.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And now they're thinking, when is he coming back? When
- 15:28Speaker 1: is he coming back? After last night, I don't think
- 15:31Speaker 1: you have to rush Caleb Williams back because Case Keenum
- 15:33Speaker 1: looks at you. It's like the Colin Coward meme of
- 15:36Speaker 1: Ben Simmons LeBron. Caleb Williams, Case Keenum's got it from here.
- 15:42Speaker 2: But he doesn't. They play the Jets next, by the way. Wow.
- 15:48Speaker 2: You want Keenum?
- 15:48Speaker 4: Yes, let's have Keenum around. This is my point on
- 15:51Speaker 4: Case Keenum. Mikey, you're a Jets fan. Would you rather
- 15:55Speaker 4: face Case Keenum or Caleb Williams?
- 15:58Speaker 5: Yeah, it's Case Keenum.
- 16:00Speaker 3: No.
- 16:01Speaker 2: It feels like a winnable game now.
- 16:03Speaker 5: It's a Case Keenum. I was trying to go with you, Taylor.
- 16:08Speaker 6: And remind you, there's a good chance that Tyson Bajan
- 16:13Speaker 6: is going to start that game.
- 16:14Speaker 2: No. No.
- 16:15Speaker 1: No.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Mikey.
- 16:16Speaker 2: He's never starting for the Bears again, right?
- 16:18Speaker 1: The Tyson Bajan game, the ship has sailed.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 16:21Speaker 2: It's left the port.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Yes.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Where's it going?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Somewhere else. Maybe the Giants.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Wherever Ben sends them from.
- 16:28Speaker 5: The Bucs. The Bucs.
- 16:30Speaker 1: But I think this Jets-Bears game highlights how situational the
- 16:37Speaker 1: quarterback position is in the NFL, where you have a
- 16:39Speaker 1: quarterback like Geno Smith last year in Vegas who He
- 16:43Speaker 1: looked unplayable with Pete Carroll. He comes to New York
- 16:46Speaker 1: and he's paired with Frank Wright. All of a sudden,
- 16:48Speaker 1: Geno Smith starts to look like that competent quarterback again
- 16:50Speaker 1: in Seattle. You have a quarterback like Case Keenum who
- 16:53Speaker 1: has not played a snap since 2023. You pair him
- 16:56Speaker 1: with Ben Johnson. All of a sudden, he looks like
- 16:58Speaker 1: a competent quarterback. All I'm saying is... It matters in
- 17:02Speaker 1: the NFL where your quarterback is playing.
- 17:04Speaker 4: We know what you're saying. I keep saying a decade
- 17:06Speaker 4: on Case Keenum. It's been how long?
- 17:08Speaker 5: 2023.
- 17:08Speaker 1: It feels like a decade, though, right?
- 17:10Speaker 2: It does.
- 17:11Speaker 1: It does.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I felt good for Case Keenum. That was a nice moment.
- 17:13Speaker 4: He's hugging his kids, hugging the family, gets the game
- 17:16Speaker 4: ball afterwards.
- 17:17Speaker 2: The team is— even Kayla Williams was cheering for him. Fake cheers.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Well, they choose.
- 17:25Speaker 6: You sure those weren't grimaces like he stubbed his toe
- 17:27Speaker 6: or something?
- 17:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:29Speaker 1: In that moment, Caleb Williams was like, you know what?
- 17:33Speaker 1: My hamstring is feeling a little better.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I'm sorry you had to drag me off. Like I
- 17:39Speaker 4: just sustained a war injury.
- 17:43Speaker 6: I still feel like it was a grade one strain
- 17:45Speaker 6: and the optics were like, listen, we're going to tell
- 17:48Speaker 6: everybody it was a grade two. You're going to sit
- 17:50Speaker 6: out an extra game because we can't have this reaction
- 17:54Speaker 6: to a grade one hamstring.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So he couldn't play last night is what you're saying. Right.
- 17:59Speaker 6: It's probably a two to three week and they're going
- 18:02Speaker 6: to say it's a four to six.
- 18:04Speaker 5: We'll bring you back at four either way.
- 18:06Speaker 4: If you do the towel thing, that's at least a week.
- 18:08Speaker 4: If you do the car thing, you have to sit
- 18:10Speaker 4: for like two weeks. If you get a standing ovation
- 18:12Speaker 4: and a thumbs up, it's got to be like.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Three to four weeks. I'm with you. Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Fair.
- 18:17Speaker 4: All right, so he's out. So we got Case Keenum
- 18:20Speaker 4: for the Jets. I'm excited about that. If only we
- 18:22Speaker 4: had a backup.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I think you have a quarterback.
- 18:26Speaker 2: I don't know if we do. He's an old quarterback.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Geno's good.
- 18:29Speaker 2: How old is Geno, by the way?
- 18:31Speaker 1: He's not as old as you think. He is.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Like 36, 37? 35.
- 18:34Speaker 4: All right, so we have a 35-year-old Geno Smith taking
- 18:38Speaker 4: on a 38-year-old Case Keenum?
- 18:40Speaker 5: Yep.
- 18:40Speaker 2: All right.
- 18:42Speaker 5: By the way, this is the Dan Campbell coordinators matchup.
- 18:46Speaker 5: This is their.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Defensive coordinator, Aaron Glenn, versus Ben Johnson, their offensive coordinator.
- 18:51Speaker 6: And I think we're going to find out really quickly
- 18:53Speaker 6: which one was the better coordinator.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I think we know. I don't need to see the game.
- 19:00Speaker 5: It's not Aaron Glenn.
- 19:02Speaker 4: If the Jets win by four touchdowns, it's still Ben Johnson.
- 19:19Speaker 4: What is your one table here? Let's get the imaging
- 19:21Speaker 4: here for a game we haven't played in a while
- 19:24Speaker 4: that I miss very much because I miss this.
- 19:28Speaker 3: There's one table left at the hottest spot in town,
- 19:31Speaker 3: and everybody wants it. Who's getting it, and who's getting
- 19:36Speaker 3: left outside? Greatness gets seated. Everyone else waits. This is
- 19:43Speaker 3: one table.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So the caveat to this one is the Chicago Bears
- 19:51Speaker 1: win this year's Super Bowl.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:54Speaker 1: So the Chicago Bears win this year's Super Bowl. We're
- 19:57Speaker 1: going to the hottest restaurant in Chicago. One Table. Michael
- 20:02Speaker 1: Jordan walks in.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Or Case Keenum.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Or Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams walk in together. Because
- 20:09Speaker 1: Chicago is a Bears town. Right.
- 20:12Speaker 3: It is.
- 20:12Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And Jordan hasn't played in Chicago in, what, like 26, 27,
- 20:17Speaker 1: 28 years?
- 20:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Although it feels like yesterday to many.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:22Speaker 2: He'll always be a part of that town.
- 20:24Speaker 4: To me, yes. And to, well, to many. I have
- 20:28Speaker 4: the pulse of Chicago, Mikey. I'm there all the time.
- 20:31Speaker 4: I talk to Bulls fans. They say to me, listen,
- 20:34Speaker 4: it felt like yesterday. So it's Ben Johnson and Caleb
- 20:39Speaker 4: Williams coming together.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Post-Super Bowl.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Right.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And it's just Jordan.
- 20:43Speaker 1: And it's just Jordan.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And Jordan's not with anyone. He doesn't have Pippen. He
- 20:46Speaker 2: doesn't have.
- 20:47Speaker 1: No, just Jordan.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I think the Pippen-Jordan relationship's still frayed.
- 20:52Speaker 2: How about Luke Longley? I mean, just some popular, you know.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Not even Kerr.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Bill Cartwright. No one. John Paxson. I'm just naming former Bulls.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Who gets the table? Jordan gets the table.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Really?
- 21:07Speaker 4: You're saying they won the Super Bowl this year. I
- 21:09Speaker 4: understand that. How many months removed are we from them
- 21:13Speaker 4: winning the Super Bowl? Are they coming in like the
- 21:15Speaker 4: next day?
- 21:15Speaker 1: No, not the next day. Let's say a month out.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Wow. I feel like it's always Jordan.
- 21:24Speaker 5: I do.
- 21:25Speaker 1: So then in this situation.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Taylor, you're running the.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Restaurant, and Jordan walks in and wants a table at
- 21:31Speaker 4: your restaurant. And Caleb and Ben walk in, and they
- 21:34Speaker 4: want a table at your restaurant.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And you only have one table. Who are you giving
- 21:38Speaker 2: it to?
- 21:40Speaker 4: For the long-term success and short-term of your restaurant, who
- 21:42Speaker 4: are you giving it to? Because Michael Jordan got kicked
- 21:45Speaker 4: out of a golf course once.
- 21:46Speaker 2: You know what he did? He built his own.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Built his own restaurant? Michael Jordan's steakhouse.
- 21:50Speaker 2: He probably has one or two or three, yes.
- 21:53Speaker 1: So let me flip the question then. How many Super
- 21:55Speaker 1: Bowls would Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson have to win
- 21:59Speaker 1: together to supplant Michael Jordan in the city of Chicago?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Because if you ask Chicago fans right now, Would you
- 22:07Speaker 1: rather see a Bears Super Bowl or a Bulls championship?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:10Speaker 1: They're going to pick a Bears Super Bowl every year.
- 22:13Speaker 4: If you asked them when Michael was playing, if you
- 22:16Speaker 4: could exchange all these things you're getting with Michael for
- 22:18Speaker 4: Super Bowls, I think they would have stayed with Michael.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Does that make sense?
- 22:22Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I'm trying to think if they won a Super Bowl.
- 22:27Speaker 2: They didn't.
- 22:27Speaker 4: They won in 1985.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And then they had the run in the 90s. I
- 22:34Speaker 1: think they would trade all the Bulls titles for... Two
- 22:36Speaker 1: Super Bowls.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I don't know. Wow. Hold on.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Before you add caveats to this, that's a great question.
- 22:42Speaker 4: We'll get back to that in a second because they wouldn't.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I don't think. Mikey, do you think? Who gets the table, Mikey?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Because maybe you're right. I have no idea.
- 22:51Speaker 6: I have a hard time, and I don't have the
- 22:55Speaker 6: pulse of Chicago like you do, but I have a
- 22:58Speaker 6: hard time saying that Michael Jordan would ever get denied
- 23:02Speaker 6: a table any time in the city of Chicago.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Right.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Yes, no matter what.
- 23:09Speaker 6: This is almost like saying a table in Bloomington, Bobby
- 23:15Speaker 6: Knight and Kurt Cignetti and Fernando Mendoza walk in.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Bobby Knight gets it.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Bobby Knight gets it.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Jordan gets it. Jordan gets it.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Does Bobby get it?
- 23:27Speaker 1: But Mikey, what if Cignetti wins another title this year?
- 23:31Speaker 5: Or is it always Knight's team?
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's always Knight's team.
- 23:34Speaker 2: It's always Knight. It's always a basketball school. It is.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I don't care. I don't care how many titles they win.
- 23:38Speaker 5: It's always Jordanstown.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Right. That team ain't winning a title.
- 23:42Speaker 4: You see them against Northwestern, Hoover's not good enough.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Listen, sometimes you've got to win the ugly one on
- 23:48Speaker 5: your way to winning the big one.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Ricardo thinks it's Jordan. He's sitting right next to me.
- 23:53Speaker 4: That's why I bring him up. He keeps shaking his head.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Taylor asked it for a reason.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I think he thinks it's Caleb and Ben.
- 23:59Speaker 5: I think he wants it to be Ben Jones.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I think at a certain point, In Chicago, the scales tip.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Like if the Bears win three Super Bowls with this duo,
- 24:12Speaker 1: then I think it becomes them being the faces of
- 24:16Speaker 1: Chicago sports.
- 24:17Speaker 3: All right.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Well, you asked how many championships. I would tell you
- 24:20Speaker 4: the answer is six, maybe seven. Now let's go back
- 24:28Speaker 4: to the other question you asked. Would the Bulls, would
- 24:32Speaker 4: Chicago fans, would they trade the six titles for two
- 24:36Speaker 4: Super Bowl victories during that same period?
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yep.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I mean, six NBA titles and the greatest athlete to
- 24:43Speaker 4: ever play any sport. I mean, that's what they got
- 24:46Speaker 4: treated to. And it would have been eight in eight years,
- 24:48Speaker 4: and it is in my personal record book, StugatzBook.com.
- 24:52Speaker 2: He has eight. So, Mikey, what do you think here?
- 24:54Speaker 2: This is crazy, right?
- 24:56Speaker 6: You have a better chance of convincing me that they
- 24:59Speaker 6: would trade for two Super Bowls than you would be
- 25:02Speaker 6: that Jordan doesn't get the table.
- 25:07Speaker 2: How about apples for apples, though?
- 25:09Speaker 4: What if I told you during that stretch the Bears
- 25:11Speaker 4: win six Super Bowls?
- 25:16Speaker 5: What are we even talking about?
- 25:17Speaker 4: They would trade the NBA titles and having Michael Jordan
- 25:20Speaker 4: for the six?
- 25:21Speaker 6: In a second, they would trade for a dynasty run
- 25:25Speaker 6: in football?
- 25:26Speaker 5: Yes. I'm sorry.
- 25:28Speaker 6: The NBA, Michael Jordan, greatest of all time, can't convince
- 25:32Speaker 6: me otherwise. But if you're telling me you're going to
- 25:35Speaker 6: have a dynasty run of six Super.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Bowls, yeah, they'll take that.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Okay. I mean, put them in New York, Jordan. Do
- 25:42Speaker 2: you think the Jets are Giants?
- 25:44Speaker 4: Taylor, you would rather have them win six titles as
- 25:46Speaker 4: a Knick, right, than either of the football teams win.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I guess the Bears mean more to that city than
- 25:51Speaker 4: the Giants or Jets mean to New York, and the
- 25:53Speaker 4: Knicks mean everything.
- 25:54Speaker 2: To New York.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 2: All right. So that's fair. I think what Mikey is
- 25:58Speaker 2: saying is fair. Six Super Bowls in eight years.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Because then Caleb Williams becomes the Michael Jordan of the NFL.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yes, or whoever was.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Playing quarterback at the time. Who was the quarterback for
- 26:11Speaker 4: the Chicago Bears in, like, 92?
- 26:14Speaker 1: I just always assume it was McMahon.
- 26:16Speaker 2: No, I think McMahon, well, he was 80s.
- 26:18Speaker 6: Wow.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:19Speaker 5: I got an update.
- 26:21Speaker 6: I texted somebody I know who's from Chicago, flies out
- 26:25Speaker 6: there to go to games, and I gave him the
- 26:27Speaker 6: one table.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Yes. He said, no question. Ben and Caleb get the table.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Wow. Really? Over Jordan?
- 26:34Speaker 6: Maybe I just have zero pulse on the city of Chicago.
- 26:36Speaker 5: Forgive me.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Who's the friend you texted? I mean, you don't want.
- 26:42Speaker 4: To name names? It's Tony. I question whether or not
- 26:45Speaker 4: he's from Chicago.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Oh, if you looked at him, you'd be like, that
- 26:49Speaker 5: guy's from Chicago.
- 26:50Speaker 2: And his name's Tony.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Wow.
- 26:53Speaker 1: The Bears starting quarterback in the 90s?
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Jim Harbaugh.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Wow.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Jim went on a deep run in the playoffs, not
- 27:02Speaker 4: for the Bears, for the Colts. Went to a championship game.
- 27:06Speaker 4: So Jim Harbaugh wins six Super Bowls in eight years
- 27:10Speaker 4: for the Bears, and Chicago fans would rather have that
- 27:13Speaker 4: than the single greatest athlete of all time winning six
- 27:17Speaker 4: titles in eight years for the Bulls.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I hate to say it. I think you guys are right.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Michael.
