Roland: Welcome back to the Everything's Energy Show. Today, I am not actually your host, Roland. We have a very special episode where our very own doctor Sandra Rose Michael is interviewing Cindy Blackman Santana. They touch on a bunch of amazing content here. They talk about past experiences that they've shared together, health habits, aspects of being high performers, and how to maintain energy under the context of high performance, and much more.
• 0:24
I really hope you enjoy this episode with doctor Sandra Rose Michael and Cindy Blackman Santana. I have back doctor Sandra Rose Michael, a guest you know well, and I wanna welcome Cindy Blackman Santana to the show. Ladies, thank you so much for being here. How are doing?
• 0:38
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. Great. Thank you. Awesome. We've both been touring a lot, and it's good to be here together.
• 0:43
We haven't seen each other in too long. Whatever it is.
• 0:47
Cindy: Too long. Too long. Because we're both so busy.
• 0:49
Roland: Well, you two go way back. Right?
• 0:51
Cindy: We go back, few years.
• 0:58
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Systems whenever you get a chance, right, on tour and Absolutely.
• 1:01
Cindy: The road. That was I was in there last night or yesterday. Yeah.
• 1:05
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Was it good?
• 1:06
Cindy: Yes. I was able to spend, yesterday, I spent three hours in there.
• 1:10
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. And then when I was in Athens last this you know, when was that? That was September in Athens, and, David Avocado Wolf was there, and he was talking about he came from my my presentation, so I had him talk too. We ended up sharing about somehow, I don't know how we got off on sharing about you and Carlos. And, and he talked about how, you know, of course, he visits the system and charges up wherever he goes with all all the different places.
• 1:42
He loves it. But he was talking about how, you get some of your produce from his noni farms on Kauai.
• 1:51
Cindy: It just makes you feel good right away.
• 1:54
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. Yeah. David Avocado Wolf. I've known him for decades. It was so good to hook up with him.
• 2:02
And and but but to find out that we share this wonderful healing connection with you and Carlos too in Kauai, and because we always talk about Hawaii stuff too. You know? Oh, yeah. All all the aloha.
• 2:15
Cindy: Oh, yeah. It's it's such a a healing place as you as you well know. You know, the energy is so beautiful, and as soon as you you get there, you start to downshift into the vibration that's there. And then for me, when it's time to leave, I feel like I'm uprooting myself from the Earth Every single time. To pull myself out because it's such a deep connection to the earth and to the cosmos and everything.
• 2:53
  To the. Yeah.
• 2:54
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: It's such a The earth that
• 2:55
Cindy: loves us. Yes. But and
• 2:57
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: it nurtures us. And shares so much love with us. That's what I'm You can feel it. Yeah. I I used to tell people the hardest thing about living in Hawaii is just what you said.
• 3:06
The hardest thing about live living in Hawaii was leaving. Leaving. Single time.
• 3:11
Cindy: Yeah. Yeah. It's it's tough. I mean, it's, you know, it's such a blessing, though, and to have that to go, you know, to recharge, recalculate, just rest and rejuvenate is it's a gift beyond gifts. It's it's just so beautiful.
• 3:30
And so I you know, we're all really, really fortunate. And you know, because you you you lived there too, you know. So we're all just really fortunate to to have that energy. And you get homesick for Hawaii. It gets to a
• 3:45
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: place where you're just like, oh my god. Yeah. Can't wait to go home. You want to home I'm gonna come. I wanna come visit you too, but I'm gonna be, going soon.
• 3:54
Doctor Shintani, of course, is on Oahu. I just did a webinar with him. And Mhmm. And I'm just going, oh. And he called me yesterday.
• 4:02
I'm so homesick for Hawaii, homesick for the Big Island, homesick for Kauai. Yes. Because they're each of the islands are so different. Are. And they're so unique, and so
• 4:12
Cindy: Yeah. Yeah. We're going very soon, so please come, when we're there. I hope you go at any time, but if you come when we're there, that'll be even more special for us. You know?
• 4:21
It's and and each island is different. Each little area and nook of the islands are all different. Like, on Kauai, I go to, you know, one area, and it feels like the energy of little fairies, You know? You can feel the dancing going on. Menehune.
• 4:41
  And then Menehune. Yeah.
• 4:42
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Well, and and on Kauai, you also had where it was the first temple for, for hula. You know, it's up in the northern tip. Yes. Yeah. Yeah.
• 4:52
Yeah. So that's that dancing energy.
• 4:55
Cindy: It has that. And then you go to the other areas, and you feel different types of energies, and it's, you know, it's it's the island that's associated with with your third eye. Third eye. You know? So it's very when you start to to really integrate yourself and open yourself up to those energies, then your whole being opens up.
• 5:16
Of course, your third eye opens up, but your whole being opens up, you know, and then you start to really feel connection and communication, you know, with the plants, with the trees. Know? Everything. Yes. You you feel that oneness, and you can communicate with them.
• 5:32
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. Yeah. And it's interesting you brought that up about the third eye. That's where traditionally people would go for the visions, for dream time, but the visions, but also to receive their next assignments before traveling back out again Mhmm. You know, as far as how the kahuna would use that energy.
• 5:51
  Cindy: Yeah. Yeah.
• 5:52
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Makes sense. Oahu's throat chakra, a lot of communication. Big Island's root chakra, most active volcano in the world, creation power. You know, they're all so different. Yeah.
• 6:03
Maui, you've got all the tantra teachers. It's the sexual chakra.
• 6:07
Cindy: Yeah. I've been to Maui. I got married on Maui.
• 6:12
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Oh, that worked, I guess. That worked. Yeah.
• 6:16
Cindy: Because you're you're you're marrying into a family. You're not just marrying a person. You know, when you when you marry somebody, you're taking on a whole new family as well, you know, both of you. You know, his side is new to me, and my side new to him, but we're we're taking that on as as our new family. So Yeah.
• 6:38
You know, I know that people get married even if there's not that congeniality with themselves and the other and their their spouse's family. But when there is, it just makes everything so much nicer and and just such a much more loving and, you know, productive, relationship between everybody. Yeah. Yeah. Really special, the love between you.
• 7:05
But, he said that people around him said, no. You're in a relationship with her. That's not gonna work. Don't mix marriage and band together. It's it's it's gonna mess up.
• 7:16
And and so some years went by, and then he finally said, Cindy, what do you think? He says and I didn't know that anybody told him not to ask me. I didn't know. I just knew he didn't, and it was okay. But he said, you know, what do you think?
• 7:32
He said, because everybody told me that they didn't think it would work, you know, if since we're we're married now. And I said, well, I think we're both mature enough to handle it. And if we try it and it doesn't work, then we just don't do it. I didn't marry you to be in your band. You know?
• 7:50
If it doesn't work, you know, we we just don't do that. We we I play with other people. You do your thing, and we're still married. Well, we tried it, and I joined in 2016. And now this is almost 2026, so it's almost ten years, and so the the the band thing is working.
• 8:12
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Well, you play beautifully together, just magnificently. Thank you. Yeah. I love your performances. And I know you Hawaii's home, obviously.
• 8:22
That's but you have a residence here in Vegas as well because you have
• 8:25
Cindy: a res residency here. It's great because after the shows, he and I go home. We're not staying in a hotel. You know, we go home, which is great. So we're in our own environment.
• 8:37
We're sleeping in our own house and our own food and, you know, our own everything. And so it's it's it works out
• 8:43
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: for us. Well, and and it kind of works for us because we call Vegas the ninth island. Right? Yes. How we kind of make it work for us because it's the ninth island.
• 8:55
There's more Hawaiians here than in, in Hawaii, I think. Oh, that's funny. Uh-huh. Yeah. It works.
• 9:01
Yeah. It works. And part of you being home, I know you've shared with me how you do your own sprouts and, you know, sprout sprouting greens. You know, because keeping to keep the high energy that you run, to be able to, I I just can't even imagine how many calories you even burn with one drum solo, let alone performing the way you perform for a full gig. It's just unbelievable to watch you and to to see that greatness because, I mean, you do it to the nth degree of mastery.
• 9:38
You know? It's so good. Right. But to be able to do that, to run that kind of energy, you know that you can't be eating anything that that blocks your energy. That's right.
• 9:50
Cindy: That's right. Absolutely right. I I don't eat red meat. I, have cut out sugar. I don't eat, processed food at all.
• 10:02
You know? I don't even drink processed juices. You know? If I drink a juice, I make it or somebody makes it fresh right there. I don't I don't buy juices in a, you know, in a store.
• 10:12
I don't drink that. You know, I don't eat candy or any of that stuff. You know? I might have an occasional taste of a dessert here or there, but it's an occasion, but I don't really eat that. You know?
• 10:25
And, you know, I had been have been growing we have a a garden at home, and so I've been growing my own greens, which I trust a lot more than what I can find in stores because they're spraying things on the vegetables. Yeah. You know, growing things in the vegetables. It's just it's really scary. And recently, I've had a great, uptick in my greens, energy because, our lovely doctor Stella turned me on to his chef, chef Leila.
• 11:01
Oh, she's the the sprout master. Well, they're not sprouts. But I made that mistake too. I called them sprouts, and
• 11:08
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: she says, no. I don't grow sprouts. I grow microgreens. Microgreens. But she is the master of the She's master.
• 11:15
Actually the daughter of a very good close doctor friend of mine, doctor Linda Lancaster. Oh. Yeah. With Global Foundation for Integrative Medicine, and I've done stuff with doctor Linda Mhmm. For a couple decades already too.
• 11:29
But I found out that that's actually her daughter and Oh. Who I'll get the microgreens from her too. She's fantastic.
• 11:36
Cindy: Yeah. She's I I mean, you the taste, the energy that you get from them, the quality, the care that she puts into them, and then she makes these divine soups that are just so incredible.
• 11:50
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: And then the summer popsicles with greens. And the
• 11:53
Cindy: popsicles with the microgreens. Yeah. She makes all that stuff, and she makes some kombucha. I had her kombucha. It's the best I've ever had.
• 12:02
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: I just ordered a gallon of it because it's so good. Okay. I'm gonna have to talk to doctor Stella, David, and Gina. You know, right now, I don't think they're back yet from the hundred year anniversary of the Rockettes. They're in New York.
• 12:18
Oh, that's he told me they were going. Yeah. Because Gina was a Rockette. And, you know, of doctor Stella has been a chiropractor forever, and, of course, now they have, Las Vegas Holistic Center, which is fantastically very, concierge service for people with with their center.
• 12:36
Cindy: Yeah. I go there a lot. I go there all the time. I get I do work with with doctor Stella, in person, but I also do remote healings with him so he can work on me no matter where I'm at in the world. Right.
• 12:50
So I call upon him quite a bit. We're good buddies now.
• 12:54
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. No. He does amazing remote healing, remote clearing work. Yeah. He's awesome.
• 12:59
Because, you know, being out there on the front lines with people, sometimes you pick up hitchhikers and hitchhiker energy, or or I know I've dealt with being attacked and things.
• 13:09
Cindy: It happens. It happens. And then, you know, some people look at because the way you are and the way I am, the way Carlos is, we don't look at our position or any of the fortunate things we've been blessed with as a one up on anybody. No. We we look at that as a way as a vehicle to share love and light with people, and some people don't understand that.
• 13:35
And so they look at you with jealous eyes, and those eyes bring negativity, because that's what that is. It's a negative energy. And so, like you said, you know, doctor Stella can help clear those kind of energies and, you know, any kind of kind of negative gunk that could be floating around and and and get on your spirit. You know? Like I
• 14:00
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: said, hitchhiker energy. Klingon. Klingons. Klingons. Yeah.
• 14:04
  Klingons.
• 14:06
Cindy: You're a Trekkie too. Right? Oh, yeah. Oh, good. Yeah.
• 14:08
And I knew you would see. I always learn stuff about her. We're we have so much in common. Yeah. So, yeah, he can he clears all that.
• 14:17
And and then going to his center is beautiful because he's got so many healing modalities there too. He's got a 32 unit EES there. He's got a red bed. He's got all these other different, techniques to help you heal. So and it's it's it's a very warm, inviting environment.
• 14:36
And especially, I like his new space even better than his old space.
• 14:39
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. Have a space. There. Yeah. Oh, you have to see it.
• 14:42
Do you have to go? The energy Everybody's told me they like the energy. I mean, they love it. They just love it.
• 14:49
Cindy: I like it even more. And I liked the old space, but this new space, for some reason, as soon as you walk in, it just feels like you're getting a hug, like a warm hug, not just a hug that's, you know, because somebody has it on their list, or I gotta give somebody no. It's it's not that. Yeah. You get a warm, welcoming hug as soon as you walk in there.
• 15:09
So, it's a beautiful it's a beautiful space, and and I attribute that to that room capturing more of his and Gina's essences because that's who they are. That's what they are. They're very warm people. Yeah. It's wonderful.
• 15:24
  I love them both.
• 15:25
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: But what a time. I know when we were in New York, we also talked about, how how you came onto more of your healing journey with doctor Sebi. Yes. Yes. And I was just down in Saint Croix and talking about yeah.
• 15:42
Because he had a lot of following down there in Saint Croix, Puerto Rico, and I was just down there. We talk about, the work of doctor Sebi. Oh, he
• 15:52
Cindy: was amazing. I I feel so so blessed because I got a chance to meet him and hang out with him. Aw. And, when I, I was on tour with with Lenny Lenny Kravitz, and we were on the way to London to open at Wembley Arena for Aerosmith. I came down with something, bronchitis, or I don't know what I had, but I was really sick.
• 16:17
And I'm like, I can't be this sick when we're getting ready to open for Aerosmith now. Come on. I can't be sick like this. And so we had a couple of days off in London before the show. So I found a doctor, and this doctor gave me amoxicillin, which I'm highly allergic to.
• 16:39
I had no idea. I'd never taken it before. And so I'm I'm allergic to most antibiotics, but I'm allergic to that for sure. Like severely. And it really wrecked my body up, really messed me up.
• 16:52
I had to be every in order to finish that tour, every three days, I I had to to, take different shots, you know, antihistamine. I even had to take some cortisone. You know, it was crazy because my joints felt like they were broken. I had swelling everywhere. It was awful.
• 17:14
And so when I got back home, my doctors put me on prednisone, and my mom was upset about it. She showed up to my house with a notebook like that thick of research that she did on prednisone, and she said you have to get off of this. I read that, and I'm like, oh yes, I have to get off of this. My doctor wouldn't wean me off. I started to wean myself off, and the symptoms would come back.
• 17:38
I would try a little more. Finally, I weaned myself off, and my older sister said, you have to get with doctor Sebi, and you have to meet him. He's in LA. And I said, who? I didn't know what he was.
• 17:52
And so I started researching him and looking him up. I'm like, wow. This man is incredible. Yeah. So I called his shop and actually got ahold of him.
• 18:01
You know, I told him I was, you know, Lenny's drummer, and, he said, oh, I know who you are, and, you know Oh. Yes. I'll help you. And and so I I flew out to LA, and I got a chance to meet him. My younger sister came with me.
• 18:14
We met him and hung out with him and one of his daughters. And then they gave me all these things to clear what I had. And I took all these herbs, and it cleared it. You know, it worked. Yeah, and we, you know, we stayed in touch for quite some while.
• 18:34
Eventually, we kind of fell out of touch a little bit, but we were in touch for quite some while, doctor. And I I loved him. He was he was amazing. Yeah.
• 18:43
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: People are, you know, kind of being exposed to his information more because he was really big on sea moss, and that's becoming more of a superfood fad right now. So the sea moss, that whole importance of that really goes back to he did a whole recipe book on sea moss alone. Oh, yeah. I, you know, I was so impressed when he I've seen him do
• 19:07
Cindy: it on film, but he showed us in person because he was telling us about Sea Moss. But yet, so doctor Sebi was telling us about Sea Moss, and he I've seen him do this on film, but he did it for us in person. He stood up, and then he pounced down on his knees. And I was like, woah. And it didn't hurt him at all.
• 19:27
He said, no. That doesn't even hurt. He said, my bones are so strong. They're like that. Uh-huh.
• 19:32
You know? And then he started telling us the story of of him, you know, going to Mexico and meeting this Mexican shaman. And he always says, I gotta thank the Mexican because he's the one who helped me, you know, get to these herbs and figure out the healing and all that. And so, yeah, I started taking Seamless too.
• 19:52
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. You still follow a lot of the principles from Doctor. Seve, right? Absolutely. Diet,
• 19:59
Cindy: the the hydration, you know, certainly I I do rest anyway, but, you know, different things that I take, supplements. I still take his super greens, that his family still makes. I still take, the sea moss. I still take well, there's a few few supplements that I still take of his, and and I think there are about four or five of them, yeah, that I still take. I still take his iron, which is organic iron.
• 20:32
And they they they work. They help. Yeah.
• 20:37
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: For sure. Yeah. He was he was, legendary. He has what he shared and what he taught. Yeah.
• 20:44
  Really respect him.
• 20:46
Cindy: Oh, yeah. And it's it's just a shame that, the the commercial medical
• 20:56
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: arena shunned him the way that they did. Yeah. I do. I just love you guys so much. I'm so happy to be able to see you again.
• 21:06
Cindy: Same here. We love you too and and appreciate you so much. Thank you for the the invention that you came up with. I mean, when I read your your story, your history, it was amazing. And then when I went to visit you that day and you told me your story yourself, I heard it in your own words.
• 21:22
I was like, woah. It's even more potent.
• 21:24
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: What a life. You know? We just wanna heal the world. Yeah.
• 21:27
Cindy: But and you're awesome. So, again, thank you for that. Thank you. Because CES is is really I think it's you know, I'm trying to get in as as many of my family and members and friends to go there, and they think I'm kinda cuckoo. You want me to
• 21:42
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: do what? Just do it. You'll see. Go take a nap.
• 21:46
Cindy: It's okay. Yeah. That's what I do. I go in there and go to sleep. I take my blankets, my pillow.
• 21:51
  You know? Mhmm.
• 21:52
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: I go to sleep. One of my favorite things with Carlos, we were at dinner here in Vegas, actually, when when Carlos started telling you about how he plays each note with such intention of the frequency to awaken people at the at the cellular DNA level. Yep. Absolutely. Him explaining that in his words.
• 22:17
Maybe you can explain it better than what I just did. I
• 22:20
Cindy: think you hit it on the the nail in the head. I mean, he's bringing the notes through his body, you know, and he uses his entire body. Like, you know, he says, oh, I I I see a lot of guitar players who use all these pedals. You know? He says, have a wah wah pedal.
• 22:42
He says, but I don't get my sound from a pedal. He said, I get my sound from the earth and from my body. And then I he said that translates to me being able to push that energy out so that it can touch people, so that people can feel it. Yeah. And and and it touches their hearts.
• 23:01
And and and that's what it does. You know, you can you can you can definitely feel that. Like, even playing with him, you can feel that. And and listening to him, you can feel that because there's a certain frequency quality to to the notes that he plays that just really pierces through you know what we're talking about? The gunk?
• 23:24
Yeah. It pierces through that. It pierces through the fog. You know? Yeah.
• 23:29
And it and it and it's and it's very poignant. Yeah. And he
• 23:33
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: does that in with intention. Well, that's what I was gonna say. It's all power of intention, back to Wayne Dyer.
• 23:39
Cindy: It's done with intention. You know, and
• 23:40
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: that book came out of a session in in my system, actually. The power of intention, making plays with such focused intentionality to help people remember who they really are. Yeah.
• 23:54
  Cindy: Yes. Yeah.
• 23:55
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: For sure. To feel the love.
• 23:57
Cindy: Yeah. Yeah. And and it and it works, you know, and I see how many people are affected. You know? We were in Europe all summer, and the we hadn't been to Europe in a while.
• 24:12
And so I think people, you know, were pretty hungry for his energy, and so the the, welcome was just off the chain. You know? The way that they received his energy was amazing, and you could it was like clicking a a switch, pushing a button. The energy of the crowd just ignited. You know?
• 24:40
And it was just it's just amazing. And that's what he does to people. You know, that's that's, like, his his forte, you know, his specialty, and that's a beautiful specialty, because we need that. You know? We we need our heartstrings, as it calls them.
• 24:55
We need our heartstrings plucked, you know, when we need those those vibrations, sourcing through our body. We, you know, we need that because it awakens us, it enlivens us, and it helps us feel our hearts. It helps us feel because once you can feel your own heart, then that's when you can feel somebody else. You can help somebody else. That's when you wanna help somebody else because you feel good.
• 25:22
You know? And so it it works.
• 25:23
Dr. Sandra Rose Michael: Yeah. It works. A phenomenal being at one of your concerts, but but it also is the combined unified intention. Yes. Unified that's right.
• 25:34
That's right. It's combined yep. Like, the the divine union of the two of you with such respect and awe for each other, but also that being carried by the whole band. Mhmm. Now they're all just cheerleading for the like, cheerleading for the planet almost with the energy.
• 25:52
Absolutely, we are. And and there's an intention.
• 25:55
Cindy: You know, we like, again, before shows, we we we do a little meditation, you know, every show. Yeah. And even if not all the members come into the meditation, enough of us come in that we're pushing that and carrying that for for the others, and so it spreads. Yeah. And, yeah, everything's energy.
• 26:20
  Everything's energy. That's right.
• 26:22
Roland: I hope you really enjoyed that conversation. It was actually a lot of fun to see Sandra guide an interview for the first time and and listen to all their shared experiences. If you're liking this content, we really would appreciate if you like, subscribed, and shared with anyone who you feel compelled to share this information with. We have lots of great content and much more coming in the new year. Thank you as always for your continued support.
• 26:43
  Cindy: We'll see
• 26:43
  Roland: you next time.
