- 0:01Awesome to get him back in studio. It was an adventure last time you
- 0:05were here. Do you remember that? I do know it. It's probably
- 0:07good you don't. You might have skipped us this time came round. What's
- 0:11up, man? How are you? I'm good man? It was we
- 0:13had you on stage and you're like yeah, and you're like, I wouldn't
- 0:17have shown up and you were wearing slippers or something, or your house.
- 0:19You're like, we're in front of all these people. What I probably would
- 0:23have showed up like that. Honestly, I got to ask because you were
- 0:27busiest year of your life in twenty twenty three, right, Yeah, it's
- 0:31pretty busy going into twenty four. What are some things you want to do?
- 0:34Because obviously your family continues to grow. It's no secret that that's a
- 0:38massive priority to you. Yeah, that they're first. So how do you
- 0:43manage manage the two? Especially now you got more new music coming. Obviously
- 0:47a new year means a new tour, So how are you managing the two?
- 0:50It's honestly pretty easy because we just bring them with us, so they're
- 0:52always with me. I think the my main priority right now is just to
- 0:56get back on the road. I've been so bored and we got great new
- 0:59music. Now we're still working on, you know, a little bit more
- 1:02to get the album finished. But yeah, main main things to get back
- 1:06on the road, knowing that your music can still make an impact even when
- 1:10you're not on the road. Right, we're about to talk about a song
- 1:11that is on its way to doing what You're no stranger two and that's number
- 1:15one? Right, What does it mean to still see your music grow even
- 1:19though it's a time where you're not necessarily pounding the pavement. It's always cool,
- 1:25but it's still like I'm the person. It's like, Okay, it's
- 1:29been out, Like I'm ready to keep releasing and just being in front of
- 1:33people. I feel like too long, Like right now I'm in the moment
- 1:38of and I don't even want to talk about it, but the COVID moment
- 1:41or it was like nobody could tour. That's how I'm feeling right now.
- 1:44I'm like ready to get back out. Listen. I can only imagine,
- 1:47especially over the holidays. Are you a guy who your live shows are so
- 1:52good? But are you a guy who if it goes too long, you're
- 1:53like anybody got a birthday party? I could sing that anyway. So no,
- 1:57it's a I don't know, it's it's I feel like for any artists,
- 2:01I don't know. There's some that might like to relax, But for
- 2:05me, I'm so competitive that if I feel like people are forgetting about me,
- 2:09you know, like I'm always trying to think of something something I can
- 2:14do. Like during the Super Bowl I saw so many country music faces up
- 2:19on the commercials. I'm like, Yo, what are we doing? You're
- 2:22like, why is King Brown not in an Uber eats at What are you
- 2:24doing? I order from Uber Eats all the time. Bro, I could
- 2:28have been the driver or something. We're gonna tag Uber Eats and we're gonna
- 2:31make this happen for Cam Brown. What's a good part though? As much
- 2:36as you are not necessarily a homebody, right like, you like to be
- 2:38out. You like to be creating moments for fans and doing what you were
- 2:43born to do. But what's the best part about being home? I mean,
- 2:46the best part of it being home is just the comfortable. Like I
- 2:52mean, when I'm at home, I have no worry in the world,
- 2:54you know, especially as crazy as the world is. We just feel safe.
- 2:59I guess that's the about being a home. And then like yesterday,
- 3:02I posted on my story, uh, because I feel like I am always
- 3:06on the go that I never really sit down and appreciate, you know,
- 3:08what we've built. So I got to do that last night, just in
- 3:12my backyard. And let me ask you. I tried it because it's my
- 3:15job. No stocker status here, but I try to pay attention anytime you're
- 3:20putting out a song. You got something new coming, obviously, I want
- 3:23to touch base on the song that you teased recently. But last time you
- 3:25talked to us, and I think it's when the current single came out.
- 3:30You had mentioned a song about it was about like a dad not being there,
- 3:37right, and you had talked about but you still haven't put that out
- 3:39yet, right, No, still trying to get it perfected. Music sounds
- 3:44great. I just got to find out where the emotion is. Okay,
- 3:46how so explain to me because we hear all the time about writing, recording,
- 3:51writing recording. When you when you say the emotion is in the song,
- 3:54what does that mean for you? Like, I've already recorded this,
- 3:57like so it's a very worthy song. So when I'm singing, I don't
- 4:02want to get. I want you to be able to listen to the story
- 4:08and feel the emotion. As to how I approach the song, I feel
- 4:12like me the way I sung it. Right now, you're just kind of
- 4:15listening, but you're not paying attention to the words but not feeling it right
- 4:21Well, I mean you're I would say, you're feeling it, but the
- 4:25words aren't as impactful as they should be because the words to the song are
- 4:29very strong, and I want to, you know, make my voice get
- 4:32that over even more so. Is that your delivery thing? Is it production
- 4:36thing or is it like maybe you switch out some words. Well, so
- 4:40we started with a production and we actually I referred to a cold spot the
- 4:45song was on my first album, YEP, because it's kind of the same
- 4:47feel. So we slowed the track down and now we're just waiting for me
- 4:51to go back and re sing it. I can't wait to hear it.
- 4:54Man, when you talk about a new project, do you know how that's
- 4:58coming together already? Like? Are you is it? How far down the
- 5:00road are you with that? I mean, I would say I'm pretty pretty
- 5:04decent. We started a whole I found a couple of riders of where I
- 5:11was. I've been wanting to go that I'll have the same kind of feel
- 5:13and all the same type of music that they write. So the next goal
- 5:16is to get all of them in a room together, because I've been doing
- 5:19it separate and so I feel like when I really bring them all together,
- 5:24it's going to be some more magic that happened for the album. When it
- 5:27comes to how massive last year was for you, we're talking like, you
- 5:30know, playing NBA stadiums or arenas and stuff like that. What do you
- 5:34hope that you can accomplish this year that will top that? Like you have
- 5:39an end goal career wise, like some of the big things right whether it's
- 5:42Grammy this or sold out football stadiums at what's something this year that realistically is
- 5:47like, hey, Cane Brown needs to do this this this man Right now,
- 5:53I'm just staying focused on moving forward. Our career has been growing.
- 5:59It's every year, grown every year, and I mean like this year we're
- 6:03doing six stadiums. Last year we did one stadium. So that's the right
- 6:08path for me. So it's gonna be bigger than last year already. And
- 6:11that's just the way that you got to focus on things when it comes to
- 6:14and I'm sure to our news is coming. So I'm not asking any dates
- 6:16or names or anything. But when you when you look at these support acts
- 6:20or the opening acts, like a lot of people call them, how hands
- 6:24are you with that selection process? And if you are not names, but
- 6:29like what do you look at? Very hands on with that? And I
- 6:32look at one of the most important things to me is the hang because I'm
- 6:39with them all year and I don't want somebody out there that's that's you know,
- 6:44I don't get along with, or that I don't want to hang with,
- 6:47or there's going to be any back and forth with our teams or anything
- 6:53like that, because I want everybody to be happy. I mean, we're
- 6:55doing music and getting to do shows for a living. And then second I
- 6:59go to music and and you know fans. But this year, I feel
- 7:04like we've got a really good line up. We got you know, Parmally
- 7:06is opening, uh and then Tyler Hobard is our direct support And if you
- 7:11look at all our music, I feel like it's all diverse and cohesive at
- 7:14the same time. So really pumped when it comes to the new music.
- 7:19UH. You in more than in more than one sitting with you. Uh.
- 7:24I've heard you say Dj Khalid to country music, which obviously is collab
- 7:28heavy, right. Is there anything that you're looking forward to with this album
- 7:31that a fan can expect, like, I mean, you've had great collabs
- 7:34already in the pop world and in the country world, So is that something
- 7:39you're like, Hey, this is what I'm known for. You've had success,
- 7:42so you're obviously doing it well. Is that something that you plan out
- 7:44more versus just putting songs together? Yeah, usually don't try to foursome.
- 7:48I have one artist that I'm really excited that's that's gonna be on a collab
- 7:53with me, Taylor Swift Sty they face Time a last just to show me
- 8:01that they were singing it, and all the my fans that I've asked,
- 8:05who you want me to collaborate with? Their name as came up a couple
- 8:09of times. And then of course Thomas Rhett was supposed to jump on this
- 8:13song, so I sent it to him today just to make sure he was
- 8:16still going to jump on it. So it'd be cool to have a collab
- 8:18with him too. Okay, God, I'm so excited for you. Came
- 8:22Brown Music, Man, I am too, man. I feel like it's
- 8:24been a while. I know, but it's glad. It's glad. Listen,
- 8:26I'm sure you again. I have so much respect for the dad side
- 8:31being a dad, like you're fully invested when you're home doing your thing.
- 8:35But I also get like, dad's got work to do. No, I'm
- 8:37itching man, when it comes to what you did last year, what you
- 8:43got coming up this year? The album is ready to roll, it's not
- 8:46ready yet. We're close, though, what do you think like summer,
- 8:48late, summer, fall, don't rush, bring, I don't know,
- 8:52August, Christmas. My favorite is when the team leans over, like I'll
- 9:00tell you when it's ready, okay. But but outside of that, getting
- 9:07back on the road, it means the shows, it means connecting with fans.
- 9:11But there's so much more of that for you as an artist that fulfills
- 9:13you that we don't get to see as fans. So what part of that
- 9:16is important for you? For me, it's just like the adrenaline rush,
- 9:22just the support and honestly, like I have such a family with like my
- 9:28band and the crew and everybody that's out on the road. It's you know,
- 9:31it's also their jobs too, so it's getting them to be able to
- 9:37pay the bills and stuff like that. It's just a I mean, I
- 9:39have hats to say it, but it's just a family organization basically. It
- 9:43is. I'm glad you said that because I was gonna come up. So
- 9:46let's do it now. Uh. The family brand is something that the popularity
- 9:48was insane. Right you did the limited releases. I was like this shy
- 9:52of hitting you on a DM, like, hey, these sell out too
- 9:56fast. Help me out, what's your plan with that more forward? Because
- 10:00obviously you saw success there too, right Yeah, yeah, I still have
- 10:03people trying to get them. We just changed colors a lot, and uh,
- 10:07this next line I think is going to be crazy. Uh we're doing
- 10:13like white and I remember whenever I used to wear the white hough hats.
- 10:16Ah, you you couldn't get them anymore, like at any of the lids.
- 10:22Lids still a thing. I haven't been them all with lids and so
- 10:26long. I'll be honest. I buy my hats online now. Yeah,
- 10:28but I remember, like I would I would run out of hats because I
- 10:31would go through them from sweating on stage. So I would go to lids
- 10:33and they'd be like, dude, we can't get these hats in anymore,
- 10:37Like they won't they just keep selling out. So we switched to our own
- 10:39and then we started selling those like crazy. So every time I uh so,
- 10:43we're basically we're switching the color to white white corduroy family. And I
- 10:48also have this really cool like orange camo that's coming. Okay, I did
- 10:52that? Do you know? Release? Roughly, I just want to be
- 10:58with the new tour, Okay, got it. When it comes to outside
- 11:01of all that, the music's coming. Let's talk what a number one means
- 11:05to you. We get to ask that question a lot, and you sell
- 11:11out, you have great music, you connect with your fans in ways that
- 11:15other artists don't bother. But still a number one does what for you?
- 11:20To me? Number one means I'm gonna get to tour again. Uh,
- 11:24you know, My goal is just to keep My favorite thing is like with
- 11:26Jason As, He's got so many number ones that he could literally change his
- 11:31show every night. Yeah. So that's something that I look forward to,
- 11:35hopefully in the future, is to just be able to pick and choose what
- 11:37I want, you know, throw a couple of number ones up on the
- 11:43board. Have have fans shoes from them, or even do a longer show
- 11:46because I have, you know, more more songs that she was from Blow
- 11:48the Curve for you? Why not? Yeah, I know, we got
- 11:52to get you out of here quick. I want to ask you though about
- 11:54you teased recently on social media another cloud with your wife. How did that
- 12:01happen? Because when we talked about the first one, you're like, she
- 12:03walked in and it worked essentially right, So how did this? Was this
- 12:07more planned out? Was? Did she have an idea? Did you have
- 12:09an idea? Yeah? So there's actually we shared that one and I shared
- 12:13another one a couple of months before. So we have three now four if
- 12:18you count, thank god. So we're just sitting on them right now and
- 12:22whatever happens happens. I mean, we're going to release them, but we
- 12:26don't. We just don't have a plan yet of when because she can't shoot
- 12:28a music video right now anyway because she's pregnant. So yeah, she's like,
- 12:33I'm not getting behind a camera right now. So we have a little
- 12:37bit of a time for him to get a plan. How far is she
- 12:41away? And she's so sweet and she's so kind, and when we sat
- 12:43down with her when the single went number one. We talked to you guys
- 12:46a couple of weeks before, like she gets it, she gets this game.
- 12:50You know, that's a part of it all is there is there any
- 12:54part of you that's like, hey, if you want to run and do
- 12:56your own thing, like I got your back. Like no, I've told
- 13:00her. She just coming in. It's hard for like artists, I would
- 13:07say, artists to be married with kids to also do separate things when you
- 13:13don't have to, yeah, because you know, say she went to tour
- 13:16and then I went to tour, and then we're split, and then it's
- 13:20like we're two divorced parents. You get one kid, I get one kid,
- 13:22or you get both kids. So I mean that's like if we were
- 13:24in the need for it, it would make sense, but we're not.
- 13:28So it's just cool that she gets to release music or sing music and you
- 13:31know, come on stage with me. So we're good with her right now.
- 13:35Plus it's not great for a marriage if you turn her one day and
- 13:37be like, hey, you can open up the tours. Excuse me,
- 13:41Yeah, I mean she's she's I don't know, it would be it would
- 13:46be cool. I mean I think Tim and Faith did that. Yeah,
- 13:50yeah, I don't know he he may have opened the tour, but she
- 13:52was like I in the night. Yeah, I wrap this thing up,
- 13:56Cain. I know you're busy, man. Thanks for hanging. I appreciate
- 13:58your time today, brother. Yeah, thank you.
