Crossfire in Wakiso Over Land Dispute | Uganda News
In Wakiso District, a deadly police shooting erupted during a land dispute, leaving a 40-year-old bricklayer dead and another man injured as officers opened fire to disperse an angry crowd. The confrontation began when residents accused a businessman of fraud over land sales, while he claimed he was assaulted after the sale. Police say they fired only in self-defense, but are now investigating — including arresting the officer who pulled the trigger — amid growing concerns about escalating violence tied to land conflicts in the region.
