- 0:03Speaker 1: Then coconut especially mixed with squirts.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Phil feel right field to the weather, feel alright.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Well, here he is the benevolent, benevolent overlord of the
- 0:22Speaker 4: Wine Academy of Utah.

- 0:25Speaker 4: You can find all things Jimmy at Wine Academy of
- 0:29Speaker 4: Utah dot com.
- 0:30Speaker 3: And he's here at the at the graces of Aurette.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Tequila embodies arete Arete. The body is the spirit of
- 0:38Speaker 3: the namesake Aurette.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Oh, it's a horse, a legendary horse and nobody.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Now you're interested. Now that's army.
- 0:48Speaker 3: They clinched to double gold in the nineteen forty eight
- 0:51Speaker 3: London Olympics.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Now I'm happy.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Now you're in nothing, says Saint Patrick's day to me
- 0:57Speaker 4: like tequila thinking ahead.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That's to the south meets the north.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah. So tell us about this arete Yeah Arete.
- 1:07Speaker 1: So this is a tequila from Jalisco, a state in Mexico.
- 1:12Speaker 1: They're using are they're double distilling. They're distilling using exceptional
- 1:18Speaker 1: water source from the Tequila volcano.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:21Speaker 1: This is from one of the oldest distilleries. In that area.
- 1:25Speaker 1: The El Lelano distillery. This guy, So you have a
- 1:30Speaker 1: Rete Blanco in a thousand milli liter bottle already at
- 1:34Speaker 1: the store. This is brand new available seventy bones and
- 1:38Speaker 1: seventy dollars a rete. This is their one o one
- 1:40Speaker 1: so one hundred and one proof or fifty point five
- 1:43Speaker 1: beautiful alcohol by bone. Yeah, this is cigarette. This is
- 1:51Speaker 1: an excellent neat, just really aromatic. Just on the nose.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You get saltwmeyy, I know it almost kind of does it? Yeah?
- 2:01Speaker 1: And uh, pepper peppery great for cocktails because that proof
- 2:07Speaker 1: really comes through.
- 2:08Speaker 4: And a little black liquors, But then I realize it's
- 2:10Speaker 4: because I just ate a piece of black nice.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Well, it is one of the characteristics, frankly. Yeah, and uh,
- 2:17Speaker 1: but it's when you have a stronger tequila, it's gonna
- 2:20Speaker 1: be a bold flavor. There's no getting around it. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 1: but that's the point. We're starting to see some of
- 2:27Speaker 1: our alcohols a little higher proof, that clean of the spirit.
- 2:31Speaker 1: In this case, the gave of the base material really
- 2:35Speaker 1: comes through.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Now, tell me about the water.
- 2:38Speaker 1: The water that they have is filtered water that they'll
- 2:41Speaker 1: receive and you're gonna soak. What we'll do is we'll
- 2:44Speaker 1: take the agave. It's the blue Weber agave that's classic
- 2:48Speaker 1: for tequila, and this one hundred percent of that and
- 2:50Speaker 1: here and they'll toast in brick ovens, toast it, dry
- 2:55Speaker 1: it out, chop it up, and then add to this
- 2:58Speaker 1: local water. So you're getting this nice minerality to it.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And that's when you're yeah, and that's when you're warming
- 3:03Speaker 1: it up, and then you initiate for imitation. At that point,
- 3:07Speaker 1: wash it off and then go into distillation.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Now you put this over some ice. I did.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Would you not normally do that? Yeah, Cuba three, you know,
- 3:15Speaker 1: depending on your palate. I know it's uh, you know,
- 3:18Speaker 1: the sun's coming up right now, so we wanted to
- 3:21Speaker 1: I wanted to open it up for it. I was
- 3:24Speaker 1: telling carry that I wanted to stop at the store
- 3:27Speaker 1: on the way and I ran out of time to
- 3:29Speaker 1: get them some squirt because I know you like it
- 3:32Speaker 1: perfect a fresco squirret a seven up, you know.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Whatever the case is, it's powerful. I used to drink
- 3:39Speaker 2: a lot more fresco than I do.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Know. No, this is really this is really tasty.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm glad you're backed off on the Fresco. Yeah, it was,
- 3:46Speaker 2: you know, it was getting to be I have it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: It was yeah, we were going to have a Fresca intervention.
- 3:51Speaker 5: That was the half fun to half Fresco that it
- 3:53Speaker 5: was the vodka that was the problem.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Use this in cocktails as.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Well, Yeah, I would use this in cocktails. This is
- 3:59Speaker 1: oh yeah, that pepper really doesn't it is coming out? Yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 1: that's really nice. That's you know, at one hundred and
- 4:05Speaker 1: one proof or fifty point five ABV. That is much
- 4:11Speaker 1: smoother than you would expect. It is quite nice.
- 4:14Speaker 2: When you said one on one.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I have away from open flame.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I was bracing myself, but then I.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Think the ice cube. No, the cube totally oftens it up. Yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 1: very nice. A great tequila available at the store seventy bucks.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That's a very nice tequila.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 5: I have a beautiful, beautiful label and bottle.
- 4:32Speaker 2: A right day get it now product. It's a product
- 4:35Speaker 2: of Mexico.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That's right.
- 4:37Speaker 3: What the hell you say?
- 4:39Speaker 2: Now?
- 4:40Speaker 5: We do have Saint Patrick's Day coming, yes, or as
- 4:42Speaker 5: I like to refer to it, amateur hour. What what
- 4:48Speaker 5: suggestions do you have as far as a beverage for say, Saint.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Patrick's Sure I'm a big Guinness fan. Of course on
- 4:55Speaker 1: the whiskey side, I was just featuring last night at
- 5:01Speaker 1: a whiskey tasting bush Mills. No hold with bush Mills
- 5:07Speaker 1: has their Prohibition era style and it's based after Pinky
- 5:12Speaker 1: Blinders the Shelby Corporation. So I got this fun marketing
- 5:17Speaker 1: tie and so I'm like, all like it is. So
- 5:19Speaker 1: I tasted it and I was like, wow, it's age
- 5:23Speaker 1: between three four and five years, most of its age
- 5:25Speaker 1: four year and it's got that little caramel nut thing
- 5:29Speaker 1: going on with it. I was pleasantly surprised. Also, we
- 5:32Speaker 1: featured Redbreast twelve. That's a classic Irish whiskey pot still
- 5:38Speaker 1: and you get that nice richness to it. And I
- 5:41Speaker 1: know it's Irish, this Irish that, but don't be afraid
- 5:44Speaker 1: to enjoy some scotch. You know, a big scotch guy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And we had some talliskirt tenure last night. Nice and
- 5:52Speaker 1: that was more. It's from the Eyelis sky. So you
- 5:55Speaker 1: had some of the peaty smokiness come through, and of
- 5:58Speaker 1: course Guinness you know it. Maybe I'll do a shout out,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I'll be I'm having breakfast at piper Down tomorrow. A
- 6:06Speaker 1: pint and breakfast, you know what I mean, just to
- 6:08Speaker 1: celebrate St. Patty's Day, and that's that's what you got.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 6:12Speaker 5: It was just curious because whenever, well when we used
- 6:15Speaker 5: to go to the Saint Patrick's Day parade, Uh, all
- 6:18Speaker 5: of my fellow irishmen were passing around flasks full of Jamison.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Yes, well you're either a Jamison or a bush Mill
- 6:26Speaker 3: because there's the Catholic and the Protestants.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So yeah, which one is which?
- 6:33Speaker 3: I think bush Mills is Catholic? I don't know, I
- 6:37Speaker 3: need to look up.
- 6:38Speaker 5: But which which is the most Irish of whiskeys?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Well, that's a good question. I would say Jamison. I
- 6:45Speaker 1: mean it's the most brand name recognized just purely out
- 6:49Speaker 1: of marketing.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Which one does the Pope drink? Gina?
- 6:52Speaker 5: Yeah, that's how you know, because see, to me, Jamison
- 6:56Speaker 5: is good, but it's.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's just there's something about it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just well what I what you can do
- 7:04Speaker 1: all Saint Petty's Day weekend has cleanse your palate with
- 7:07Speaker 1: this arete to Kila.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Oh, I have a list five biggest Irish whiskey.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yes, I was gonna say.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Now the Irish are all upset because I brought this
- 7:18Speaker 5: up at all.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Myth.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Number one, Jamison is Catholic, bush Mills is protest myth. Okay,
- 7:26Speaker 3: the bush Mills is located in a predominantly Protestant Northern Ireland, Ireland.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Jamison produced in the Catholic Republic of Ireland. But no,
- 7:34Speaker 3: but that says this could be no further from the truth.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Sounds true to me.
- 7:39Speaker 4: If you're paking here, you're making your whiskey in the
- 7:41Speaker 4: Protestant sector, you're Prodestan.
- 7:43Speaker 3: The master distiller for bush Mills is Catholic. The master
- 7:48Speaker 3: distillers and founder, the eponymous founder of Jamison, John Jamison,
- 7:52Speaker 3: was Protestant.
- 7:54Speaker 2: All right, then that settles it, doesn't it.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Scotch is better than Irish whiskey.
- 7:59Speaker 5: This is a Jimmy right here, Jimmy, this is this
- 8:03Speaker 5: is obviously it was better.
- 8:05Speaker 4: This is obvious put together by an irishman.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Number three, Irish whisky is only good for shots. You
- 8:12Speaker 3: would probably say, yeah, no, no, it's also good for bathing,
- 8:19Speaker 3: and all Irish whiskies taste the same.
- 8:21Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, that's a good list. That's a
- 8:24Speaker 1: good list.
- 8:25Speaker 2: All right. Listen, Jimmy, we know you.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Have a lot of the let's see what we got
