- 0:00Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekdays. Mark Simone. Only on 710WOR. Hey,
- 0:08Speaker 1: in Huntington, Long Island, there's a great Italian restaurant, Posto Pozzo.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I love this place. It's owned by two brothers, Joey Patron,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Luigi Patron. Luigi sends me a note here. He's in
- 0:20Speaker 1: Starbucks this morning. And there's these kids yelling and screaming
- 0:24Speaker 1: about the price of gas. It's $ 4 a gallon. They
- 0:27Speaker 1: can't believe it. Outrage, it's $ 4 a gallon. He then
- 0:30Speaker 1: watches them pay $ 7. 50 for a coffee, $ 7. 50 for some
- 0:37Speaker 1: fancy coffee, 20 ounces. So he figured it out. If
- 0:42Speaker 1: you bought Starbucks by the gallon, it's $ 42 a gallon.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So they're outraged. Gas is $ 4 a gallon. But they
- 0:52Speaker 1: don't mind paying $ 42 a gallon. For Starbucks. Speaking of Huntington,
- 0:58Speaker 1: let's go to Eddie in Huntington. Eddie, how are you doing?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Hey, good morning, Mark. Just in regards to that shooting
- 1:04Speaker 2: with ICE, I don't know what the federal guidelines are,
- 1:07Speaker 2: but I was in the police department 36 years. And
- 1:10Speaker 2: the only time we could shoot a vehicle coming at us,
- 1:13Speaker 2: if they were using something, a deadly physical force other
- 1:16Speaker 2: than the vehicle, we couldn't get out of the way.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So in other words, if they had a gun and
- 1:20Speaker 2: they were shooting at us, we could fire back. But
- 1:22Speaker 2: if they were coming at us with just a vehicle,
- 1:24Speaker 2: we'd have to try and move.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you try and move, but where are you a cop?
- 1:28Speaker 1: New York City?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah, 36 years. And the other issue for us was,
- 1:32Speaker 2: did you fight in that vehicle? You killed a guy?
- 1:35Speaker 2: What's going to happen to the vehicle after he's dead?
- 1:37Speaker 2: Run into a store, a bunch of old ladies. So
- 1:40Speaker 2: hopefully that video shows that those officers couldn't get out
- 1:43Speaker 2: of the way.
- 1:43Speaker 1: That would be the issue, I think. All right. Good point.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Good point. We'll see. Now, DHS says they will release
- 1:50Speaker 1: the body cam video and that we'll see it. Let's
- 1:52Speaker 1: go to Phil Suffolk County. Phil, how are you doing?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Hello, Mark. Thanks for taking my call. Anybody who saw
- 1:59Speaker 3: that Michigan Senate debate between Ayed and Rodgers, Rodgers accounted
- 2:06Speaker 3: himself very well. He tied Syed to, you know, Hamas
- 2:12Speaker 3: and Hezbollah. And, well, Syed is a little, you know, he's...
- 2:16Speaker 3: eloquent but ed rollins must have a soft spot in
- 2:19Speaker 3: his head to not agree that rogers is going to.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Win well right now right now it's neck and neck
- 2:26Speaker 1: he did very well in the debate here's rogers what.
- 2:28Speaker 4: My friend here just wants to do is he's kind
- 2:31Speaker 4: of like a glitchy ai chat bot is say the
- 2:34Speaker 4: same thing over and over and over again but let
- 2:36Speaker 4: me tell you this He has taken money from groups
- 2:40Speaker 4: associated and support the Muslim Brotherhood. He has taken money
- 2:43Speaker 4: from individuals on his campaign who openly support Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah, now there's a lot of radical stuff in parts
- 2:54Speaker 1: of Michigan, you know, Dearborn, Ann Arbor. But the whole
- 2:58Speaker 1: state of Michigan is pretty sane and mostly Midwestern kind
- 3:02Speaker 1: of conservative. So Rogers most likely will win. Let's go
- 3:05Speaker 1: to Daniel in Westchester. Daniel, how you doing?
- 3:08Speaker 5: Hi, Mark.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Everybody should realize the Jews are the indigenous people of
- 3:14Speaker 3: the Middle East.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The Muslims are the invaders.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I keep forgetting to call them that. They are
- 3:20Speaker 1: the indigenous people in Israel. Indigenous. Democrats love that word.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That's a good point. Thanks for calling. Marco in New Jersey. Marco,
- 3:29Speaker 1: what do you want to say?
- 3:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I got two things.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Hopefully you'll let me say it.
- 3:34Speaker 1: No, give me one. If it's interesting, we might let
- 3:36Speaker 1: you do a second one.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Okay, so the first one is, is Trump a criminal?
- 3:42Speaker 1: All right, that's your last one. Thanks for calling. Let's
- 3:45Speaker 1: go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 3:49Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark. Mark, what the retired NYPD police officer
- 3:54Speaker 5: forgot to mention is, I follow federal guidelines, not New
- 3:58Speaker 5: York City, not New York State guidelines. Mark, this is
- 4:02Speaker 5: another great talking point. I hope you bring it up
- 4:06Speaker 5: with Bruce Blakeman when he comes on. How did this
- 4:09Speaker 5: illegal alien get a driver's license, and how was he
- 4:14Speaker 5: able to register that car? And here's another thing. When
- 4:20Speaker 5: I was coming up, real wise guys never traveled with
- 4:23Speaker 5: their wife and kids because among wise guys, there was
- 4:27Speaker 5: a code of honor. You don't go after each other's
- 4:30Speaker 5: wife and kids. So the wise guys never traveled with
- 4:33Speaker 5: their wife and kids. If this guy was such a fine,
- 4:37Speaker 5: upstanding citizen that Mayor Mondami wants to make him out
- 4:41Speaker 5: to be, what are you doing with that kid in
- 4:43Speaker 5: your car? And when people say, gang affiliated, give me
- 4:47Speaker 5: a break. Well, when I was young and you heard, oh,
- 4:50Speaker 5: this person was affiliated with Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, that
- 4:55Speaker 5: meant that they were in the life, Mark. That didn't mean.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Well, I guess what they mean, you know, you could
- 5:00Speaker 1: be a maid mob guy and then you could be
- 5:02Speaker 1: what they call an associate, which means they're using you for.
- 5:06Speaker 5: You go do the dirty work and everything. You're one
- 5:08Speaker 5: of the button men and everything.
- 5:11Speaker 3: And.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Mark, I got sick last night when I'm hearing all
- 5:16Speaker 5: these race-hustling community organizers feigning outrage. As a Life magazine
- 5:25Speaker 5: reporter once told me, she says the first thing that
- 5:28Speaker 5: cheesy politicians do and cheesy leaders do They hide behind
- 5:33Speaker 5: the skirts of women and children. Oh, and there was
- 5:37Speaker 5: a five-year-old child in that car. What did that guy
- 5:40Speaker 5: have his kid in the car for? Because he knew
- 5:42Speaker 5: he could also have been whacked by another criminal who
- 5:46Speaker 5: had it in for him.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Very good points, Vincent. We've got to go for the news,
- 5:50Speaker 1: but excellent points. Great call, as always. Hey, when we
- 5:54Speaker 1: come back, we'll talk to Bruce Blakeman. He's supposed to be— well,
- 5:57Speaker 1: we'll see what he's going to be doing today. It
- 5:59Speaker 1: might be with President Trump. The debate's coming up Tuesday.
- 6:02Speaker 1: We'll ask him about all this next on 710WOR.
