- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Yes, welcome.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Emmy.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Thank you for such a warm welcome.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's my pleasure.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: And it's really fun to have you on the show.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Thanks for making the time because I know you have an awful lot on your plate.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: And your topic today, how PR can grow your business while boosting your confidence.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: So I love that because it's not just business.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: You have managed to merge personal development, in a way that I've never heard of that being done.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: How did this all come about for you that you conceived of this idea to put them together?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: that's like a lifelong story for me.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I was born in a family of two psychologists.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: My mom and my dad are both psychologists.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, I chose the path of communication and journalism for myself.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: So I always seen this as coming out and showing up with your message can do so much for your confidence.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: So I look at it as writing articles or showing up interviews as of sure a business tool but I've been able to see it in so many of my PR clients but also like in you know in my previous career as a journalist I would you know interview someone a writer or maybe a scientist or maybe just enthusiast of some sort of art and I would see how just that being placed in the media would suddenly give them this feeling like, oh, I'm seen, I'm recognized.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I've seen it in other career paths of mine as well.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: I used to put out events, like live events, and I would take a local artist, I would invite them to speak, and I remember that particular artist, she had such an interesting career.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: She was a food stylist, like the one who styles the food for a photo shoot that we see on menus that makes us want to eat the food.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And And she was like, oh, no one's going to come to listen to me.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And I was like, you watch.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: And I feel like this you watch is pretty much like a tagline of my entire career.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: I love the feeling of people feeling more confident after they've been featured on media.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: That's wonderful.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And I love that you don't stop there.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: You know, one of the things that I noticed in what you sent me is that you really are focused on taking people to the next level, whatever that is for them, which could include physically, but also spiritually.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: And that is highly unusual in the media world from my experience.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: How do you go about doing that?
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Interesting question.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: It's kind of, I don't think I do any, I don't think I personally do any work here.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I think it happens automatically by people experiencing, experiencing being interviewed by them seeing their name in media or being featured in a popular blog.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: It just happens automatically.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Like you won't believe that, that some of my clients, like they are somewhat, somewhat one we would perceive as influencers, they may have thousands and hundreds of thousands of followers even.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: And yet when I talk to them, they still say, oh, you know, I feel a bit shy showing up.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: I feel a bit shy sharing my story.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Yet every new time when they do it, I feel like it's a new step to just shining as ourselves in the world.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: So you're really connecting people to themselves.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Would that be correct?
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: No way.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love the way you put it.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think so.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: What a wonderful gift.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And in the process, not only are they having a self-discovery perhaps, a boost in confidence, but then that, of course, has that wonderful ripple effect out into their listeners or their audience.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Watching someone grow and expand inspires us to do that, doesn't it?
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Yes,
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: absolutely.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I love seeing this work as, like, you know, as kind of, as you say, many layers.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: I work maybe with a person, with a thought leader or influencer, and I help them to be seen more.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: And, you know, in return, they influence so much more people in their field.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: So I love spreading that.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: positive message or message of growth through this way.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: I work with wellness coaches and therapists.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: So whoever helps people grow physically, mentally, or
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: spiritually.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Which we are very much on the same page.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: I myself am committed to that.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And I love that you really reach out to other teachers and You're very selfless in that regard, I noticed, that you always bend to the expertise of another and include them in your training.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: It's like you're really a major connector for people as well.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Did I get that right?
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess so.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: I always enjoyed connecting people and bringing on the different things that I learned in different fields together.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Well, you're quite humble because you give credit to these wonderful teachers that you include, and I really appreciate that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Again, you've really created a niche that I think is quite unusual that brings the heart into business.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: And I think it's really interesting and foretelling, yeah, that you chose thought leaders in wellness, right?
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: So you've really connected that.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Your gift, yes, with what you're focused on.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Now, how for you would you say you've grown as a result of that?
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: That's a wonderful question.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I have a deep belief that we all choose the lines of work in which we most need help ourselves.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And let me expand on that a little bit.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Growing up in the family and in the circle of many talented psychologists, I had a lot of conversations talking about that, and I realized that many people who go into into therapy, psychology, wellness, helping each other.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: They feel like that's the area that they need the most help with themselves.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: I spoke with, also in my line of work, I spoke with many people who are in nutrition, and they are constantly feeling like they can improve the way they eat and the way they nourish their body.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: And it's the personal interest into a particular area that drives us into this area, right?
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: So in my case, I started this career as a journalist at the age of 15.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: And I really remember my very first interview that I had to take.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: I was 15 and the subject I chose for interview was this boys band that played like 60s rock.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: rock and roll cover.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: So, you know, and they were like anywhere from 20 to 30.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: So they were like a little bit of like a local, local stars.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: And can you imagine Amy, how nervous I was?
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: I like, I was shaken and like, Like, you know, you're pretty much like, you know, like a fangirl calling the, you know, calling up to people, you know, that you go to concerts to watch them on stage.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: So I was very nervous.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: And I still to this day remember this interview and it kind of shows me that, yes, I myself was really, and I guess still am, to the point shy to show up, right?
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: And helping people to show up and shine in the world.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: This is a skills that I'm learning myself.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: This is a kind of indirect, I believe, lifelong journey.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: But then of course, because I chose to work with health and wellness people, this is a great line of personal interest I always get to learn from a therapist I always you know get on personal call with maybe a relationship specialist and even if we don't talk about my relationship but I get to learn from them and their wisdom and you know get some interesting ideas and concepts to apply into my life same goes for many other areas like you know how to biohack your life how to optimize your health and wellness performance and how to improve your memory.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So those are all the topics that I guess I choose to work with people in whose topics I really believe and interested in.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: So I get to learn and grow and it's a win-win.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I love that and it gives me the idea that if someone is searching not quite clear yet what career path and wanting it to be connected to their passion, it would be a very good exercise to look at what is it that you most want to know about or address and grow in within yourself.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: and look to that as a career.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: That's a wonderful bit of advice you've just left us and all of our listeners.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: you've concluded it into a piece of advice.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: All right, now let's say I'm just starting out.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: I'm in the early stages of my business.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: I don't feel like I'm ready.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I don't have enough going on yet.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: How can your PR firm help me?
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what I would say is it's kind of a misconception.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: It's a popular belief that PR is just for those people who are very grand, you know, the celebrity status and so on.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not true.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Because look at the word.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: PR is relationships.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: It's public relationships.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: Anyone at any stage of their business can have relationships.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: So we work both with people who've been in their career of coaches or therapists for years and build a large following, but we also work with those who just set up their website and just set up their offer, their maybe coaching practice or their online course.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: And building relationships works for anyone.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: I've really believe it's a foundation of every business.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: So for those who are just starting, we look at the strategic partnerships where they can come share their message, maybe on a guest post, on a blog, or maybe on a podcast interview.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: And the beauty of today's world is everyone has a story and people love listening to other stories.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: So if you have your business, if you have your website running and you have your story of why you started this business.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: That's a recipe for starting out in PR.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: And through those first appearances, blog posts, podcast interviews, you start building what marketers call a group of early adopters, which are the smaller group but your most loyal fans.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: PR is something that gives you incredibly loyal fans.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Some of my clients who worked with me for years now tell me that when they are at the live event, let's say they're running a retreat and my clients run those kind of retreats for which people pay a few thousand dollars to participate.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: One client says that he asked the participants, so hey, how did you first find out about me and my work?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: And 50% of people said, through your podcast interviews.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: So it just shows how much of a loyalty that builds.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's terrific.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm impressed.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: The nuts and bolts, it sounds like, with people.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Very practical.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: So you have both sides of it.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: You have this wonderful wellness consciousness, the ability to connect people to who they are, to discover themselves, become more confident, while at the same time, very practical nuts and bolts steps to actually put their message in front of the right people.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I spent a good amount of time running a marketing team in a large publishing company called Mindvalley.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Everything I did there, day and night, was looking at numbers and optimizing conversions.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: So I have this ingrained in me.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's very useful.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, great background.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Every growing up investment, every step you take in business and what that would do for you.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, definitely.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Well, we do measure.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, statistics are a measurement of, you know, how actively we are actually fulfilling our possibility we've created for ourselves.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: And that's where it shows up, the statistics.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: So that's a perfect background, yeah, to actually gain results for people.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: So how does someone, let's say they say, well, I need Natasha.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: How can they get involved with you?
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Well, first I say wonderful.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: I offer the discovery calls for anyone who is just willing to test it out.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: We don't have to sign anything right away.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: Let's get together on a call, which you can book on my website, natashazo.com.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Just book a call.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about your story.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I really do it because I love getting to know people.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: So let's get to know each other, see how we can formulate your message and see what sort of media can do well for you at the stage where you are right now.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: That's wonderful.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: And you have a newsletter too, don't you?
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: I do have a newsletter.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: So what I do is, because me and my team go through thousands of media opportunities every single week, we don't always have a proper client to feed to every single media opportunity.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: And I felt that it was such a big waste that I started a newsletter where every Sunday I will send a roundup of few media opportunities.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe someone in my network who is looking for a guest on a podcast or someone in my network who is working on a particular article and need a particular profile.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: So I put them in a newsletter.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: I say how you can apply.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: I don't mediate this process.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: I just let you know how to apply for a particular opportunity, and then it's up to you to go and grab it.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: That's a
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: wonderful gift that you're just giving away.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: I felt
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: like so many opportunities have been, you know, like I don't have as many people to fit in into the number of opportunities that I come across.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, why not to share?
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Well, I love your generosity of spirit.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: And if everyone operated that way, it would be a very different world.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: So thank you for sharing.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: being an example, right?
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: We lead by example.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: And, um, I love the example you're leading with.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: So tell me before we run out of time, I want to hear.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: I was just thanking you for your kind words.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: So nice of you to say.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Oh, well you inspire them, right?
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: Um, so you're just receiving that, what you created, right?
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Coming back to, um, I want to make sure before we run out of time, what's next for you?
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Because your life journey has, you know, been such a wonderful step-by-step process, as you said yourself, you know, bringing you back to the things or forward to the things that you wanted to address and expand upon in yourself.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, with your spirit and your interest in really being of service to people have found a way to really magnify the effect of what you've learned as you've gone along as a way to share with people.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to hear what's next for you, Natasha.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: Next is more, there is like a business step and there is a personal step.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: So as for business, we are just growing and expanding and getting ready to serve more, growing the team.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: And as for personal, yeah, it can be bringing me back, as you said, to where I started my career.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I started as a journalist and I've been feeling really cold to be writing more again.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: So something Big pleasure for me is stepping into the shoes of a writer and doing a feature on some of my clients or on some topics that I really care about and I learn along this journey.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: And being in the shoes of a writer once again, so that's something I'm really excited about at the moment.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Well, now I'm excited about it because I can't wait to read what you write.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Wonderful.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I'll learn something and I'll grow.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: That's terrific.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Well, before we close out the show, do you have any last parting words for our guests this afternoon here or evening, wherever
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: you are?
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sure.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: my parting words would be that if you are starting out in the business, wherever you are, I know the tendency is to, you know, to Start small.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I know many people like to come up with a brand name for themselves and hide their real name and their real story behind it.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: And I want to urge you to step into who you really are and into your real story and don't be afraid to shine it.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: What I learned from the world of media is that in today's world it's not what you say, it's who says that and what the story behind you that will led you to, you know, to know what you know today.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: So your story is your biggest gift and whatever line of business you are, personal brand today is the biggest asset.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: So do not be afraid to share your story.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: What a beautiful message laced with transparency.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And this is the age of truth.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: So it's, you know, just spot on with where we are.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Yes, in our social consciousness, bringing it down to the individual.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Well, you are really truly a gift.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: I'm so grateful to you for spending the time with us today.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: I learned some things, and I'm going to be sending you some people, and definitely I know they will benefit.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: No, it's terrific.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: So thank you so much.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, Debbie.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're so welcome.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: In closing, I want to thank you, Natasha, for joining us today.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Of course, all of our listeners and our producer, the founder of the Divas that Care Network, Candice Gish.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Candice redefines the word divas to mean a courageously self-assured woman, which we just heard from Natasha.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: And she'll teach you how to be that, too.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: The Divas That Care Network offers women of all walks a platform for sharing their voice in the world, and we invite you to join us.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Visit DivasThatCare.com, hear more inspiring stories, and who knows, perhaps you too will want to add your voice to the conversation.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: Have a blessed day, everyone.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Until next time, over and out.
