Latest / Hallmark Mysteries & More / Reviewing Garage Sale Mysteries: Searched and Seized as well as The Way Home Season 2
Transcript
- 0:01Eric: Hey Andrea, we got to see Jen after a hiatus and we searched and seized, but did we hit?
- 0:10Eric: That is the question.
- 0:13Andrea: That is a great question and I don't know if we'll agree.
- 0:16Eric: I don't know either, but this is Eric.
- 0:21Andrea: This is Andrea.
- 0:22Eric: And this is Hallmark Mysteries and more.
- 0:24Eric: This podcast was created by fans or fans and is not affiliated with or sponsored by Hallmark or the Hallmark channel.
- 0:37Andrea: All right, so a little recap on this movie.
- 0:39Andrea: So this movie was one that aired, I believe, originally on the app in 2022.
- 0:45Andrea: So that's when I first watched it.
- 0:46Andrea: So it's a garage sale mystery, search and seized.
- 0:50Andrea: Search and Seized finds Jen's friend Miles running a police auction that features a suspect who may have gotten involved with criminals to solve his debt problems.
- 1:05Andrea: So, yeah, this is one that I think they I don't know why they just decided to release it.
- 1:10Andrea: I know it was close to being finished.
- 1:13Andrea: From what I've read and what I've heard, this is one that when it went on hiatus, you know, because of Lori Loughlin's legal situations, they kind of dumped four movies.
- 1:20Andrea: So she was they were planning on doing all four.
- 1:23Andrea: So this is one that got finished.
- 1:25Andrea: There's a second one that is close to being finished, which I'll share a little bit more in my trivia time, and then the other two I don't think were ever even started.
- 1:35Andrea: So this is kind of one of those movies.
- 1:36Andrea: So, in case you're like, oh, what movie is this?
- 1:39Andrea: I know it aired last week and I want to say that was the first time I've seen it on the Hallmark channel.
- 1:47Eric: I'm pretty sure it actually did air last year, because I thought on our and I did not watch it.
- 1:52Eric: I'm not a huge Grouse sale mystery fan, so that's a little, you know, foreshadowing, but it I believe.
- 1:59Eric: I remember it being like some little bit of conversation about how this one that had been produced a while ago and then it showed during whatever some random weekend you know Grouse sale marriage, and so people were talking about it.
- 2:16Eric: I believe so, but I once again don't quote me.
- 2:22Eric: I am not saying I'm an authority on this one.
- 2:26Eric: I think it.
- 2:30Eric: I think it did air before, but I'm going with you brand new to me, so that's what we'll roll.
- 2:36Eric: Okay, well, overall plot enjoyment.
- 2:38Andrea: What do you think on a scale of one to five?
- 2:42Eric: To figure this out, though, I have a question.
- 2:45Eric: Okay, is Miles a reoccurring character?
- 2:48Eric: Have you seen him before?
- 2:49Eric: Is he like just for this one?
- 2:53Eric: I don't even know who Miles is.
- 2:56Andrea: Miles is the guy who gets killed.
- 2:57Andrea: The auctioneer guy Then clearly he is not a reoccurring character.
- 3:01Andrea: Okay.
- 3:05Eric: Because he seems like her best friend, kind of thing.
- 3:08Eric: No.
- 3:10Andrea: He's not a reoccurring character at all.
- 3:14Eric: So he had four minutes of Hallmark fame, all right.
- 3:18Eric: Well, we do our little ranking one through five, our plot enjoyment.
- 3:22Eric: I gave it a three A meh.
- 3:24Eric: All right, it pretty much will say it for me.
- 3:29Eric: It had all the flavor of like tap water, just there.
- 3:35Eric: Not great, not terrible.
- 3:38Eric: I found a little boring.
- 3:41Eric: I was also confused for half of it.
- 3:43Eric: The guy who shows up and is like I'm a NASCAR mechanic.
- 3:50Eric: Hey, jason, let me follow you and your son around as you look at cars and going to get you in this.
- 3:57Eric: I'm a car salesman.
- 3:58Eric: I was just confused by so much and it seemed that they maybe had a two and a half hour story and the editor just said I can cut right here.
- 4:11Eric: I'll just cut here and we'll make it fit.
- 4:14Eric: I just did not blow for me the mystery.
- 4:18Eric: Okay, the murder.
- 4:22Eric: Well, I know there was, it was a pair.
- 4:26Eric: But the actual murder, like when he showed up, I think he could have showed up and had, like I don't know, a big sign on him saying, or maybe like Miles could have had a shirt with like I'm with murderer kind of thing, because he was so obviously guilty.
- 4:50Eric: Right, as soon as I saw him I'm like, well, there's the killer.
- 4:52Eric: You didn't even have to, like, do anything.
- 4:55Eric: So you know the.
- 4:58Eric: Now the other part where it's with his partner, that you know, I kind of figured it out, but that wasn't as blatant as that.
- 5:05Eric: Like I just looked shady, right.
- 5:07Eric: I'm like I'm slim, shady and I'm going to go kill somebody and I expected it.
- 5:12Eric: So I guess that.
- 5:13Eric: But it was okay.
- 5:15Eric: I think, like the characters have been obviously established I think maybe they were a little lazy by this time and role.
- 5:24Andrea: Funny.
- 5:25Eric: you say that that is very similar.
- 5:28Eric: I have a quick question.
- 5:31Eric: And I'm going.
- 5:31Eric: Sorry, I don't remember her name.
- 5:33Eric: What is it, sally?
- 5:35Eric: What's her friend's name with the shop?
- 5:38Andrea: Danny.
- 5:39Eric: Danny Sally.
- 5:40Eric: Danny Danny, though, is absolutely wonderful.
- 5:44Eric: She's a great character.
- 5:45Eric: I like her.
- 5:46Andrea: I do too.
- 5:48Eric: So, and once again I'm doing all this, saying admitting I have not watched all 17.
- 5:53Eric: I think I probably have the 17 scene, five total, so I have not gone through the whole series by any means.
- 6:00Eric: Okay, that's my take.
- 6:04Andrea: Man Okay.
- 6:05Eric: Well, where are you coming from?
- 6:06Andrea: So I have seen all of these and I will preface with this was my favorite mystery series before it went off air I mean, I guess behind gourmet detective, because that's tops for me, but this was second.
- 6:19Andrea: So I really enjoyed this.
- 6:21Andrea: I looked forward to August having that month where they just every Sunday we got a, we got a new garage sale.
- 6:27Andrea: So I the first time I watched it, because I did watch it about a year ago for the first time on the app and I enjoyed it.
- 6:36Andrea: You know it's fun to go back to rags to riches, but this time when I watched it, I gave it at three as well.
- 6:44Andrea: It felt very much like everyone was kind of phoning in their performance or maybe the script was not quite as tight as usual, and again it could be because I think this was I think they had a week left of filming or a week left of things to get done when production shut down and so they kind of did this after the fact.
- 7:03Andrea: So there could be some things that weren't tidied up because of, you know, the fact that they pulled the series.
- 7:09Andrea: But it did not feel like the strongest movie I would say at all in this series and I agree, it was kind of, you know, a little dull in places.
- 7:19Andrea: And then, yeah, just kind of going into the mystery because my next takes are related to the are mystery minutes.
- 7:26Andrea: So what do you have for your mystery minute?
- 7:28Andrea: How did you, how did you enjoy it?
- 7:30Andrea: Did you have lots of twists and turns for you, or just kind of?
- 7:33Eric: well, as I said, he, as soon as the guy showed up, he didn't have to say a word.
- 7:37Eric: I knew it.
- 7:38Eric: Now, what is her name?
- 7:43Eric: Irene, right With the fedora and everything that was interesting, the red herrings in it where they kept thinking, oh, it's the crime boss guy, and as he tied in, okay, but they never really got me too involved.
- 8:02Eric: And if it was so, what?
- 8:04Eric: So tap water.
- 8:10Andrea: I agree.
- 8:10Andrea: I mean I think the mystery was it was okay, it was a lot of red herrings, it was your traditional, you know, very homework, old school feel for this movie, like the guy in prison that you know dies, kind of to kick things off, but he didn't necessarily.
- 8:25Andrea: I mean it all kind of tied together but not in a nice tight oh.
- 8:30Andrea: This really makes me love this movie, or I love how they put in these little pieces.
- 8:35Andrea: It felt more like let's just throw this on the wall and let's throw this here and let's see if we can kind of confuse the audience, where I just don't think they.
- 8:45Andrea: They tidied things up as well as some of the other movies, because I had watched the surfer movie multiple times now, because that one seems to air every weekend or every time I turn on on a weekend it's the surfer one and so I like that one.
- 8:58Andrea: But this one just lacks some of that and I feel like even from the acting too, I think everyone kind of it felt a little phoned in from the regulars.
- 9:08Eric: Right, and the.
- 9:09Eric: I guess the I just remembered because I forgot.
- 9:14Eric: I was thinking that the Irene was part of the killing but she was part of the she got killed.
- 9:19Eric: Yeah, she was part of the counter fitting and the other part of just sort of the shenanigan-y thing.
- 9:25Eric: But the assistant who was like oh, I'm going to come help you, that was once again whatever homework mystery one-on-one character of.
- 9:36Eric: I look for her because she has just enough of a role that she's going to end up being at the end of it.
- 9:45Eric: It was just everything it was mailed in.
- 9:51Eric: That's all I can say.
- 9:53Andrea: I would say I could tell.
- 9:54Andrea: Could you tell?
- 9:55Andrea: I think I can tell a difference between this.
- 9:58Andrea: So, like you know, your old school, back when they first started airing these, my old school, like 20, what?
- 10:04Andrea: 17, 18, 19, 20, 20, even there, so there was a definite feel of this, felt like that formula when I feel like some of these newer mysteries that we're getting are a little bit more breaking that mold, they're not quite as cut dry, they have more going on, Like, even just thinking about, you know, the true justice that we just watched, there was just more action, there was stuff to do and it just felt more alive than this felt.
- 10:30Andrea: And so I don't know if it's just kind of they're branching out and trying, you know meteor scripts or putting more, you know more to do with the characters, making it just more interesting.
- 10:42Andrea: Cause this one I really felt like it felt, you know it did feel it felt stale.
- 10:50Eric: And I guess it's no, you also have gone through the whole Aurora ones, right?
- 10:56Andrea: Yeah, I've watched all of them.
- 10:59Eric: So that's a similar amount.
- 11:00Eric: I think it's that 18.
- 11:02Andrea: Yeah.
- 11:03Eric: And from what I've heard, I made it through a couple and then I watched.
- 11:07Eric: You know, randomly I probably have seen four of those.
- 11:10Eric: But do you think it's just the fact it's hard to maintain fun, original, interesting things when you're doing that many of them, because it just seems the same characters?
- 11:25Eric: How many different ways can you go?
- 11:27Eric: It's probably a lot of the same people still doing it.
- 11:30Eric: They just all right.
- 11:32Eric: We got to get another one.
- 11:33Eric: You know it's August and Andrea wants her Grassail Mystery, so got to get one out there.
- 11:38Eric: Well, here, coming from, someone who loves murder.
- 11:42Andrea: she wrote.
- 11:42Andrea: And there's 12 seasons with 24 episodes a season.
- 11:46Andrea: That is a chunk.
- 11:47Andrea: I still love them.
- 11:49Andrea: Does it drop off a little bit?
- 11:51Andrea: Yes, I'm right now in, I think, season 11.
- 11:55Andrea: And it does.
- 11:58Andrea: But Cabot Cove is the ones that I really love.
- 12:00Andrea: Some of the ones where they go to other places, you know they, I could take or leave the mystery.
- 12:04Andrea: But the ones where Jessica Fletcher is not in them because that was, I think, like season eight she stepped away because Angela Lansbury didn't want to be filming.
- 12:12Andrea: It was a lot.
- 12:13Andrea: It's a brutal schedule for her, so she stepped out of some of them and had like a friend solve the mystery.
- 12:18Andrea: Those do not do well Like they.
- 12:21Andrea: People did not like them.
- 12:22Andrea: Even if you go on forums now, people like I skipped those episodes.
- 12:25Andrea: I'm like I want Jessica Fletcher, I don't want the sidekick who comes in for the episode.
- 12:30Andrea: Those didn't draw people in and so I feel like you can keep that story like without losing some of it.
- 12:38Andrea: But it is really the character I mean without.
- 12:41Andrea: If Angela Lansbury would have phoned it in, maybe season 12, yeah, you're going to feel that, but I would have taken more.
- 12:47Andrea: I would have kept watching season 13, season 14 on DVD, like I own.
- 12:52Andrea: You're making a face.
- 12:54Andrea: What?
- 12:56Eric: I don't know.
- 12:57Eric: I watched that one episode and the one I watched you told me I chose the worst one.
- 13:03Andrea: I have one.
- 13:03Andrea: I will tell you, yes, I will tell you which one to watch.
- 13:06Eric: But I will say, despite saying it was just meh, it wasn't bad.
- 13:12Eric: It was.
- 13:14Eric: You know, it was watchable.
- 13:15Eric: It had some of the fun things.
- 13:17Eric: We wanted, a mystery.
- 13:18Eric: It just wasn't something where I'm going to be.
- 13:21Eric: Oh it's on, I still will go.
- 13:23Eric: If there's a gourmet detective on, I'm watching it.
- 13:27Eric: I know every single scene, I know everything that's happening.
- 13:30Eric: I know when the jokes are hitting, I know when the romance is hitting, I know when the character, who it's going to be, and I don't care.
- 13:37Eric: I just enjoy it again and again and again.
- 13:39Eric: No, not with this.
- 13:42Eric: I probably will never watch this one again.
- 13:47Andrea: That's how I would feel about this too.
- 13:48Andrea: This is probably a weaker one in the series.
- 13:50Andrea: Having watched the whole one, this is not one that like the Surfer one again, like I had referenced before, and if anyone's watched the whole series they probably know which one it is.
- 13:57Andrea: That one I can go back to.
- 13:59Andrea: There's another one, I think, where they it's like a band member and there was some stuff that went on, and that one I can watch again.
- 14:07Eric: Those stick out to me All right, two more things, yeah, and we can move on.
- 14:11Eric: One I, I don't know Somehow for people listening to the podcast.
- 14:19Eric: We're on Zoom.
- 14:19Eric: I don't know what I just did, but I had balloons just take over the screen, so all right, that was amazing.
- 14:27Eric: Well, I guess that's good, because I was about to say something positive about the movie.
- 14:31Eric: We're going to celebrate, and I think that is Lori Loughlin does look fantastic.
- 14:35Eric: She just and I a little spoiler we talked to Jerelyn, who is the costume designer for Grosseo Mysteries, and we talked and she said that was her favorite character for her to dress, and I will say she does look fantastic.
- 14:56Eric: I look at her and I'm like that girl's got style.
- 15:02Eric: The other part is what the hell is with the restoring the car and it being the vet and bringing it in.
- 15:10Eric: And then I don't have enough money.
- 15:12Eric: I can only buy this clunker.
- 15:13Eric: And then we're going to buy it and restore, which will cost like 6,000 times more, but we don't worry about that, right?
- 15:18Eric: But then, okay, I get started with it and then I'm going to give this car that I just saved up all my little bit of money to to the guy back, and now I'm going to be riding my bike again.
- 15:28Eric: Sarah's, like that was.
- 15:30Eric: I don't even know what the point of throwing that in the movie was, other than hey, we need to build an extra seven minutes, and what do you got for us?
- 15:42Eric: So, like I said, the things that were just so random and confusing I just didn't understand.
- 15:46Eric: I guess maybe that's put them at the auction lot, and so I don't know.
- 15:52Andrea: Well, usually they do give a storyline to Jason or one of the kids and so, like it is sometimes random, not always related to the movie whatsoever, and I feel like that was their storyline, this movie, because Jason wasn't in it a lot, you know.
- 16:06Andrea: So, kind of going into our next segment too is the romance roundup.
- 16:08Andrea: I love that.
- 16:10Andrea: This is like a husband and wife already married.
- 16:13Andrea: They're not solving the mystery together, so that to me is a huge plus.
- 16:17Andrea: I love that they do this with this movie.
- 16:21Andrea: They didn't I mean Jen and Jason and this one.
- 16:23Andrea: They didn't have a ton of scenes together.
- 16:25Andrea: They've had more scenes in other movies and you can feel their relationship a little bit stronger in other movies.
- 16:30Andrea: I would say I'll be curious to hear your take, since you haven't seen all of these.
- 16:34Andrea: And then I think Danny and Jen had great scenes.
- 16:38Andrea: I know it's not a romance, but like their business partners, like those scenes were great in the store.
- 16:42Andrea: And then the same with Jen and the detective Linwood.
- 16:45Andrea: I think those guys are.
- 16:46Andrea: I love those two together.
- 16:48Andrea: He's probably one of my favorite detectives in a series.
- 16:51Andrea: I really enjoy him.
- 16:52Andrea: I wish he would be cast in some other mystery movies because I think he is a strong detective character and can play that role well, and I would love to see have him in another ongoing series that they have.
- 17:05Andrea: So let me hear about your romance.
- 17:07Eric: I'd love to hear this.
- 17:07Eric: I'll start with the detective there.
- 17:09Eric: Is he the same?
- 17:10Eric: Been the same actor?
- 17:12Eric: Yes, I thought he looked different.
- 17:15Andrea: Nope, same guy, Not really it could be later, okay.
- 17:17Andrea: Yeah well, same guy.
- 17:19Eric: Secondly, I agree with you, as I said, danny character.
- 17:22Eric: I love her and I think that from a friend thing they really do have that going on and that's a really nice relationship.
- 17:29Eric: And getting to Jen and Jason being married, he's just, I mean, heck, I got a crazy wife who goes around hanging with all these dead people.
- 17:41Eric: But hey, honey, have a good time, I'm gonna sit here with the junior and fix up the Mustang, have a good time with the dead bodies.
- 17:49Eric: So he's a very understanding husband and they seem to be nice and happy.
- 17:56Eric: And so, yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't have sizzle, but it's got a very nice comfort.
- 18:03Eric: Like, what do you think your husband be if you're like oh, hey, honey, I've now run across the 17th or there's probably multiple dead bodies in one of the episodes, so I've just run across the 20th dead body.
- 18:16Eric: So I'm off to solve a case.
- 18:20Eric: That's the only thing.
- 18:22Andrea: Very much like Jason that would be.
- 18:23Andrea: My husband is very laid back, so he would be like that's just my life.
- 18:29Eric: Do you want me to pack you a lunch?
- 18:29Eric: Oh, what about?
- 18:35Andrea: characters Like who is your favorite character?
- 18:38Andrea: I would love to hear this, danny.
- 18:41Eric: Well, I did, like Danny, but for my roundup I'm going with Owen Wilson, who was the thug, and the reason why is he's been in four different hallmark mysteries, as he's always like the same kind of guy and he's in these hallmark mysteries.
- 18:59Eric: I remember him in mystery 101 when he was running through the cornfield chasing or getting chased.
- 19:05Eric: I don't know if he's chasing or getting chased and it just.
- 19:10Eric: I just looked at him and you know it's one of those guys who just has a role in hallmark You're talking about.
- 19:16Eric: The detective should be in more hallmark mysteries, this guy.
- 19:19Eric: You'll just keep seeing his face pop up again and again with these little roles.
- 19:24Eric: So enjoy him.
- 19:25Eric: He was in a crossword terminal descent, he was in Aurora Tea Garden one and he was in a mystery 101, like I said, which I don't remember what name of it is.
- 19:34Eric: That's funny.
- 19:35Eric: Like I said, he's just that guy.
- 19:38Andrea: Oh well, mine, Mine was Greta, the talking parrot.
- 19:42Andrea: That is my standout character.
- 19:45Andrea: I loved the good night Irene a little bit.
- 19:47Andrea: They have been the best actor.
- 19:49Andrea: I mean that parrot, that she or he, I'm not sure which one, but man just were amazing.
- 19:57Andrea: But here's the thing.
- 20:02Eric: I believe.
- 20:03Eric: First of all, I think it's a cockatoo.
- 20:04Eric: Oh.
- 20:05Andrea: But I don't know maybe a parrot Two.
- 20:09Eric: It's so like Trite, where the talking bird is saying, like the murder, oh yeah, right.
- 20:18Eric: Yeah, so that's once again a dialing, it in type it's a lady they could have had Dialed in and I ate it up, but I'll be, although Irene's hat had my second bid I loved that hat, that red hat.
- 20:30Andrea: Yes, that was my second choice, not Irene herself, but that hat, love, that Agree, and she wore it with just your like in your face.
- 20:39Eric: This is my hat.
- 20:40Andrea: I loved it Okay.
- 20:40Eric: Ready for your.
- 20:41Eric: You have any trivia?
- 20:44Andrea: Yeah, I do have a trivia.
- 20:47Eric: So there was one more movie filmed that had one week left of editing.
- 20:51Andrea: So I kind of hinted at that.
- 20:52Andrea: Earlier it was called three little murders.
- 20:54Andrea: Yeah, now I was kind of, you know, scouting out online.
- 21:05Andrea: I don't know if it will ever air, but you know, maybe if they could just finish up, if it's like a week's worth of editing, I feel like hey, why not throw it together and just put it out there, put it on the app again, see how it does and then maybe release it onto Hallmark.
- 21:19Andrea: If that's what they're just kind of basing to see how numbers are, see the response before they put it out.
- 21:24Andrea: I feel like they should.
- 21:26Andrea: I mean, there's enough of us who still I will watch it.
- 21:28Andrea: You know, even if this one wasn't my favorite, I still love this series and, would you know, I would love them to come back and do it again.
- 21:35Andrea: Plus, I feel like it would be a little bit fresher because they've had this break.
- 21:38Andrea: They might be excited to come back to these characters once more.
- 21:43Eric: Maybe, since they don't have all of it, they'll just have to, like, cut it down to two little murders.
- 21:49Eric: Yeah, there, it changed the name and did that, that's like a nice Just edit out one of them and keep rolling.
- 21:53Eric: Okay, so my trivia.
- 21:56Eric: We're talking about Irene and her hat.
- 21:59Eric: That actress is named April Tullock and she's actually been in three different garage sale mystery.
- 22:06Eric: She was in the pilot episode where she played the garage sale lady.
- 22:11Eric: She was in episode 10, case of Murder, and she played Ann McNary.
- 22:17Eric: I could not tell you who Ann McNary was, but then she also played this one where she was Irene, two-sided.
- 22:25Eric: I don't know, she's a bad person, but she ends up getting murdered too.
- 22:30Eric: So yeah, yeah there.
- 22:32Eric: But it's kind of interesting how they just have the same character, same actor, come in and play different people.
- 22:38Andrea: I didn't even notice.
- 22:41Eric: The also the guy, the vet guy.
- 22:44Eric: He was in a previous one as well, as a different character too, so they just reuse them.
- 22:51Eric: It's kind of like one of your favorite shows, golden Girls.
- 22:53Eric: They have the same actors come in and it's like the new boy.
- 22:57Eric: He's the boyfriend again, even though he used to be the boyfriend of a different name and stuff like that.
- 23:02Andrea: So right yeah.
- 23:04Eric: Not just miles.
- 23:04Eric: They've done it with several.
- 23:06Andrea: I mean so was Murder.
- 23:07Andrea: She Wrote Murder she Wrote, if you watch it, the one who ends up marrying Grady, who is Jessica Fletcher's nephew.
- 23:13Andrea: She is in so many episodes until they finally pair her down and marry.
- 23:19Andrea: So it's kind of interesting, just to kind of see them.
- 23:21Eric: It's different characters or the same person.
- 23:23Andrea: Yep, and the same with Mort, who is the sheriff in the last few seasons.
- 23:27Andrea: He is in as a I think he's a policeman in one of the earlier ones and like a salesman at one of the stores.
- 23:34Andrea: So it's kind of funny how they reuse and I'm sure it's probably easy.
- 23:37Andrea: They have a good relationship and you know, nowadays it's easy to see that.
- 23:42Andrea: But you know back in the day, like you didn't have as many reruns and you weren't watching it like this, so you might not have noticed.
- 23:49Eric: I'll do a little tease, or it could be.
- 23:53Eric: Geraldine told me some fascinating thing about casting that can take place, so when that episode airs you'll have to listen to it, because it just blew me away and we can talk about it, that's a good tease After there, yeah.
- 24:08Eric: We can just how it's possible crazy.
- 24:12Eric: I can't wait.
- 24:14Andrea: Well, I want to do one final, another one that I forgot to, you know, warn you about.
- 24:18Andrea: But I want to throw in another little segment because I feel like we should have any final thoughts.
- 24:21Andrea: So just kind of wrapping up, you know, before we do our homework, chill and recommendations, Any final thoughts on this movie?
- 24:28Andrea: Because I had a line that I wrote down that I found highly amusing, slash foreshadowing that I would love to share.
- 24:37Andrea: Do you have any final thoughts on it that you're like oh, this is something I forgot to share.
- 24:42Eric: I will have one last one.
- 24:44Eric: Do you ever see on Netflix Eurovision, the movie with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams and they sort of?
- 24:57Eric: They're from Iceland and they end up going to do Eurovision and it's a comedy.
- 25:03Eric: There's the guy in there who's the Russian singer for the Eurovision.
- 25:08Eric: His character's name is Alexander Lemtov, played by Dan Stevens.
- 25:14Eric: You know he was in Downton Abbey and he's been in some other things.
- 25:18Eric: He was Mary's first husband.
- 25:20Eric: But the character Alex Lentonov from Eurovision, the murderer guy who I said just looks shady looks exactly like him, I think so when I saw him I'm like waiting for him to bust out singing some song about being the lion of the jungle.
- 25:37Eric: So you should see the movie.
- 25:40Eric: It's hilarious, I love it.
- 25:41Eric: I feel like, if you can handle quasi-musical, it's just funny.
- 25:47Andrea: Well, I had a line that the girl and I don't remember her name, I should have wrote down her name the blonde, the other killer.
- 25:53Andrea: So she was in there and was gonna take the bird and she's like, oh, how can we pay you?
- 25:59Andrea: Oh, adele, her name was Adele.
- 26:01Andrea: And Adele says, ha ha, how about paying for my student loans?
- 26:05Andrea: And I was like, oh man, that did not age well.
- 26:11Andrea: And I'm surprised that they threw this in this movie, because I'm assuming stuff was probably going around.
- 26:15Andrea: Oh wait, I just got it yeah stuff was probably going around about Lori's situation, and so I was like, whoa, that line is just an interesting one in this movie.
- 26:27Eric: I thought I was like when you sang it didn't age.
- 26:28Eric: Well, I'm like, oh, student debt forgiveness.
- 26:30Eric: And I'm like, oh, wait, no Lori.
- 26:32Eric: And her yeah, and she tells Lori.
- 26:35Andrea: And I was like okay, yeah.
- 26:38Andrea: So that was my final thought, that I that is kind of funny.
- 26:43Andrea: Yeah, well, what about recommendations?
- 26:46Andrea: Anything similar that you know on Hallmark or any other TV shows?
- 26:50Eric: I said it before.
- 26:50Eric: I'll say I have a feeling if you like Ross Hill Mysteries, you like Aurora Teagarden just a mystery that goes on and on and on forever.
- 26:58Eric: And you run into some person who knows three quarters of the town, who's dead Hannah Swenson starting to get close to it.
- 27:08Eric: But I just think from what I've seen of the Aurora Teagarden which is about as much as I've seen of the Ross Hill Mysteries they just have a very similar feel to them.
- 27:21Andrea: Yeah, I wrote, that's what my first one was as well.
- 27:24Andrea: I put Emma Fielding as well, just because that one I haven't seen it in a while, but that also kind of has that feel to it.
- 27:31Andrea: They just I mean, there's only three, I think so that was one of those.
- 27:34Eric: That's the one when she's the like archeologist, professor or something like that.
- 27:38Andrea: Yeah, the old school Hallmark, Mystery Field.
- 27:41Andrea: What about our fans corner?
- 27:43Andrea: Anything that you know of that people have said about the?
- 27:47Eric: movie.
- 27:47Eric: Well, the fans corner is.
- 27:51Eric: We were just recently announced that Cases of Mystery Lane is going into production.
- 27:56Eric: We did have a fan who tipped us off and sent me a link to that prior.
- 28:03Eric: So we've known for a couple of weeks now but in deference to Hallmark, because we do wanna be friends with them, I did ask Anyhow over there, as well as the writers, and they said this isn't supposed to be public, please don't say anything about it because we're waiting, and so we had a sit on that.
- 28:27Eric: But that is a tip and we've gotten a couple other tips that have come our way and greatly appreciate when people send them to us, getting a little sleuther so we can get that action.
- 28:39Eric: And what we'll do is someone will say hey, I heard this is happening.
- 28:42Eric: The Victor Webster Someone sent us that saying Victor Webster just happens to be posting things or doing things.
- 28:48Eric: We're using the same town with LA at the same time.
- 28:52Eric: So total speculation.
- 28:54Eric: But love it when we get those kinds of DMs coming in there with people giving us leads and we can sort of do a little following up or make our own little projections on what we think is happening.
- 29:08Andrea: And mine.
- 29:08Andrea: I just had I do my polls and I kind of asked what did everyone think in general for the garage sale mysteries?
- 29:14Andrea: And I would say 50% loved it and the other majority so like I would say 30 to 40% was they have never seen it before, which was actually shocking to me.
- 29:27Andrea: So number one was they loved it.
- 29:29Andrea: Otherwise people hadn't seen it, and there was not many who said they didn't like it.
- 29:33Andrea: I mean it was like very small percentage.
- 29:35Andrea: So if they did watch it, people loved it.
- 29:37Andrea: But so many have never seen it, so maybe it's newer people to the mysteries.
- 29:41Andrea: So if you've never watched it I would recommend going back and just watching, if you like.
- 29:45Andrea: Kind of that old school feel I again personally love.
- 29:49Andrea: I love the garage sale mysteries, especially the earlier ones.
- 29:52Eric: They do and there's definitely enough mystery or, excuse me, marathons where they show it and all the episodes I believe all 17 episodes, I'm not mistaken around the app.
- 30:05Eric: At least the vast majority of them are on the app, so you can definitely get your fill of Jen Shannon if you want and, like I said, I watched a couple of them, gave it a shot and just not my favorite.
- 30:22Eric: I'm like you, who really is like in these new feel of some of the new mysteries, where I know a lot of people are saying oh, no mystery has been good since Emma Fielding and I'm never watching Hallmark Mysteries again, but I'm enjoying the new, little different feel to the mysteries.
- 30:42Andrea: Yeah, well, what's coming up next?
- 30:44Andrea: What are we reviewing next week?
- 30:47Eric: So next week we'll be talking about gilded Newport mysteries, murder at the breakers.
- 30:54Andrea: I'm very excited for this.
- 30:56Eric: I know you are.
- 30:58Eric: I know you are, I am too.
- 30:59Eric: I think the casting is good.
- 31:01Eric: I'm crossing the.
- 31:04Eric: I've saw the buildings and I think they did a really good job of finding places that look Newporty and Manchin-y and things.
- 31:14Eric: But, like you, I'm crossing the fingers that they were able to budget or at least portray opulence.
- 31:22Eric: We talked about it with Emma and that her character is specifically not of the mega wealth, but the Vanderbilt's are, so hopefully they, you know, are able to do that.
- 31:37Andrea: Yeah, and knowing they don't have the budget that probably the HBO does, so also myself like trying to temper my you know what.
- 31:48Eric: Another nope, another little, uh, another little tease.
- 31:51Eric: Jerelyn has some really interesting information that she shares with us about budgeting for costuming and things like that that she shares with us.
- 32:01Eric: She gave some really cool background information that us as fans probably just well I know I never thought about.
- 32:10Eric: And then actually she said it like oh wow, and it sort of put some things in perspective and kind of keeps.
- 32:17Eric: You know, we're Hallmark fans, we let things go, but it just really kind of put things in perspective of what really goes on to make these movies and it's absolutely fascinating.
- 32:30Eric: We also need to talk about one other thing.
- 32:32Eric: You've been pushing it, you've been wanting me to talk about it.
- 32:37Eric: I held off.
- 32:38Eric: I binged season one of the Way Home.
- 32:44Eric: I'll be honest what I did when last season was around.
- 32:48Eric: I made it through three episodes and I said rooten out and I bailed and I know a lot of people love it.
- 32:56Eric: A lot of people said, oh my gosh, the best thing Hallmark's ever done this, that and the other.
- 33:00Eric: And because you want to talk about it, I said, okay, we'll do it and I watched, and then I watched the first episode and now the second episode.
- 33:10Eric: So now we can talk about the Way Home.
- 33:14Andrea: Okay, so first.
- 33:15Andrea: So I'll just kind of give my just overall first season one, because I want to really dive into the last two episodes now here with season two.
- 33:22Andrea: But my take I personally loved the first season.
- 33:26Andrea: I am one of those people who I wouldn't say it's the best.
- 33:30Andrea: I think there's some great movies, series that Hallmark has done in terms of mysteries, but I really did enjoy this show.
- 33:36Andrea: I also really like the Good Witch.
- 33:38Andrea: So if I had to compare, I think Good Witch might still have my vote.
- 33:42Eric: Good Witch is fantastic.
- 33:43Andrea: I love the Good Witch, so I think that one, still for me, is my top series.
- 33:47Andrea: So I guess that's where I'm stand there.
- 33:50Andrea: In case people are like oh, where's your taste at?
- 33:52Andrea: Probably where mine is, but I did.
- 33:55Andrea: I did think it was really well done.
- 33:57Andrea: I enjoyed the characters.
- 33:59Andrea: I really liked the.
- 34:00Andrea: I really like how they play with a song in the in the in the episode, probably because I grew up like.
- 34:07Andrea: I graduated high school in 2003.
- 34:09Andrea: So, like this is my era, these are my jam, this is my music, so that really is fascinating.
- 34:14Andrea: Each episode I'm looking forward to what what they're going to listen to.
- 34:17Andrea: I liked the characters.
- 34:20Andrea: Okay, what do you got for season one?
- 34:23Andrea: Before you dash all of my my love for it?
- 34:26Andrea: You?
- 34:27Eric: just didn't like it.
- 34:28Eric: I see the appeal, okay, getting all the way through to the end definitely tied it together and, yeah, bailing after three didn't give it a fair shot, okay.
- 34:43Eric: But she is just a terrible mom who has major child children.
- 34:50Eric: She has major childhood trauma that essentially emotionally neglects and abuses her daughter.
- 34:56Eric: To go on this thing, to go back in time to help solve this whole thing of her brother's disappearance and like when I was roughly like how old is she?
- 35:13Eric: She's supposed to be?
- 35:14Eric: She's about to go to college, right?
- 35:16Eric: So she's 18-ish 16 to 18, I would say so when I was young I lost my best friend and, I admit it, messed up with my head and I had to deal with a lot of therapy to get through it.
- 35:28Eric: And she needs to get through a lot of therapy because she just is a very troubled, troubled person and that kind of bugged me.
- 35:38Eric: But all that aside because this is Hallmark and so we shouldn't go into there, it does have a lot of interesting things.
- 35:46Eric: There's why am I going brain dead on Evan?
- 35:49Eric: What's his name?
- 35:50Eric: The Elliot.
- 35:51Eric: Elliot looks exactly like a guy in my finance department at work.
- 35:57Eric: And yesterday the whole group was there and I said hey, preston, you look exactly like Elliot, like who, what I'm like.
- 36:05Eric: You got to pull this up and the whole department got over there and they all agreed that my Preston is Elliot.
- 36:14Eric: And so I said are you living a little double life like sometimes we just don't see it because they work from home usually.
- 36:20Eric: So that's kind of exciting.
- 36:22Eric: The ending was pretty interesting.
- 36:27Eric: I started, I started getting some things like is the pond and the kid maybe associated?
- 36:34Eric: I also cat's first husband, that guy who's is now.
- 36:40Eric: Is he shady or is he not shady?
- 36:43Andrea: No, he doesn't seem shady.
- 36:44Eric: Okay, he's a.
- 36:45Andrea: Midas Sotan.
- 36:51Eric: So of course he has a little cringiness to me, but I didn't know if he was or wasn't, because I don't know.
- 36:56Eric: I started thinking somehow he was involved in the thing, and right.
- 37:04Andrea: It seems clueless and that he's got a new girl.
- 37:07Eric: Yeah, I thought maybe somehow he got jealous and threw Elliot into a ditch or something, which obviously did not happen.
- 37:14Eric: So you went dark, yeah Well, I didn't know what this thing was.
- 37:18Eric: So it it was.
- 37:21Eric: It was interesting.
- 37:23Eric: It wasn't my favorite and you brought up a good witch and it's not even good.
- 37:29Eric: Which is so good, so good, fantastic.
- 37:32Eric: We could talk about that for a month and a half and I would not.
- 37:35Eric: I would not get bored.
- 37:37Eric: But so there's season.
- 37:40Eric: Season one is okay and I made it through and I did not.
- 37:44Eric: I did not suffer as much as I expected.
- 37:46Eric: I'd put it as a solid, solid six, better than better than better than garage sale mysteries that we just watched.
- 37:55Andrea: Okay, okay.
- 37:55Andrea: Well, I want to dive into these.
- 37:58Andrea: Next the first two episodes of season two.
- 38:00Andrea: So I have some notes that I wrote down and I figured you know I can just kind of share some of the notes and then you can kind of share if you even notice these things or if these things are questions for you as well.
- 38:10Andrea: So I feel like now I will say this but season two I was worried going into season two because sometimes shows can lose their way.
- 38:18Andrea: Season two curse, I swear.
- 38:21Andrea: A lot of the shows are just don't live up to that expectation especially with season three, oh interesting.
- 38:29Eric: Season three is the ones that always lose it for me.
- 38:32Andrea: So, yeah, minor usually make or break season two, just like in the HBO the Lakers show.
- 38:38Andrea: I loved the first season oh what is that called?
- 38:43Andrea: But the Lakers anyway, that was great.
- 38:44Andrea: Season two, it started to fall off, it lost its sparkle and they it got canceled.
- 38:50Andrea: There is no season three.
- 38:51Andrea: So that's where I feel like you know it can go one or two ways for me.
- 38:55Andrea: I will say the way home for season two.
- 38:59Andrea: It has not pulled me in like season one.
- 39:02Andrea: So I will say that I have not been as like, yay, this is what we're doing.
- 39:08Andrea: I feel like they have put characters in just to like give them some scenes.
- 39:16Andrea: So, like you know, throwing in Colton for the flashbacks and even some of like her friends and daughter's friends and like they just very, very short scenes.
- 39:29Andrea: That Sure, we want to tie it together.
- 39:32Andrea: We want to know they're still here, but what is their purpose?
- 39:35Andrea: Are there?
- 39:36Andrea: Is there going to be a purpose?
- 39:37Andrea: Are we doing it just because we really liked this actor or are they going to have a really big role in this season?
- 39:43Andrea: So I have some questions there.
- 39:45Andrea: I felt some of those flashbacks in that first episode were kind of weird and I didn't enjoy some of those scenes.
- 39:54Eric: So with Alice and the chef kid who, by the way, yes, I'm 17 year old who's all of a sudden catering events and all that, whatever is she now dating him?
- 40:08Eric: In season two, like I know, there was that like awkwardness where they had their thing, where he made her dinner and then his girlfriend found out and seemed like there was going to be a conflict, but then it just scene ended so we don't know.
- 40:23Eric: And then this season it seems like their boyfriend, girlfriend, but I don't know.
- 40:29Andrea: I didn't get that.
- 40:30Andrea: I got friends still, but like I mean I feel like she seems like she Alice is still back, you know, in 1999, 2000,.
- 40:40Andrea: Like she's still back in that timepiece and likes that guy who knows if they're going to keep threading him through, Like.
- 40:46Andrea: So that's where, again, some of the flashbacks.
- 40:49Andrea: If we go a ton, it could be confusing, it could lose me, I might not be as invested I guess.
- 40:57Eric: Okay, now going into the next one is the going back in time.
- 41:05Eric: How do you feel about that?
- 41:08Andrea: That was my next.
- 41:09Andrea: That was my next note as well.
- 41:11Andrea: I'm a little hesitant.
- 41:12Andrea: How long are we going to spend in 1814?
- 41:16Andrea: It seems that that Lingonmore estate that they keep bringing us to, that that big house, is going to play a role in this season.
- 41:23Andrea: Or it seems like they have that little pond If you've noticed, they've shown it a few times that little fountain, I should say, and I'm like, is that going to become a time travel piece too?
- 41:34Andrea: And then it seemed like Elliot knew about the past, like there was a notebook, and he seemed to kind of know like, oh, that's my grandfathers or great grandfathers.
- 41:44Andrea: And so I feel like, wait, so are we going to learn that like he can do stuff?
- 41:48Andrea: Or maybe it's through this pond or his relatives, you know, that's who she?
- 41:54Andrea: I think that's who tried to, I think that's who shot Kat.
- 41:57Andrea: Is that Lingonmore estate people?
- 41:59Andrea: So again, there's a lot of questions and I feel like they need to maybe tidy it up, or I'm going to, I'm going to watch the episode again.
- 42:07Andrea: I've only watched each one once, but I think watching it again to kind of get the names down helps or at least it did the first season for me, and so I want to do that again, just so I can kind of track all of these people and try to match them up with present day, because I feel like there should be a thread between present day and 1814.
- 42:26Andrea: And if not, I feel like that's a huge miss.
- 42:30Eric: I feel that well, first of all, the ending of episode season two, episode one, that was just fantastic.
- 42:41Eric: When she gets shot right, like did not see that coming, great, great end, just boom.
- 42:49Eric: As far as going back in time, as you know, I'm not completely sold in the series.
- 42:57Eric: I'm a six.
- 42:57Eric: I think it has the ability to get just corny and lose me really quickly because it just becomes silly.
- 43:08Eric: We need something for season two.
- 43:10Eric: We needed a new way to swim around in this pond.
- 43:13Eric: So now we're back in time, it's going to be a very tight rope for me to be able to maintain my interest.
- 43:23Eric: The other thing is it just seems a little bit got to get moving with some of the things that are going on, like the Elliot and Kat relationship.
- 43:38Eric: It's okay, we understand this, but it's just got to go forward, got to go somewhere with it, and it just seems like it's just kicking the can, kicking the can, kicking the can and no real developments are taking place.
- 43:51Eric: And that's where I'm just finding yeah, they're going back in time, that aspect, but as far as like real character developments doesn't seem like anything's happened in a while for me.
- 44:03Eric: So we'll see.
- 44:05Andrea: Yeah, I agree, and the same with Dell, like I still am.
- 44:07Andrea: Like does she know about the time travel?
- 44:09Andrea: Like she's playing it, and I like that Annie McDowell is playing it, kind of like this You're still puzzled as, like what does?
- 44:17Andrea: How much does she know about this?
- 44:18Andrea: And you know what threads does it play?
- 44:20Andrea: I also found it intriguing like Jacob's running around in 1814.
- 44:24Andrea: And you know, kat has supposedly, you know, found him.
- 44:28Andrea: But I feel like I'm like man, they're going to resolve it that quickly.
- 44:31Andrea: Like in three episodes we're going to meet Jacob for the first time.
- 44:34Andrea: It seems really fast for a season two.
- 44:36Andrea: So I will be curious to see if, if that is Jacob that she saw running for sure, and it seems like it based on the previews for this next episode.
- 44:46Eric: I thought the woman said who helped her out.
- 44:48Eric: I thought she said that was yeah.
- 44:51Andrea: I know and that's where.
- 44:52Andrea: But you know, sometimes they'll be like yeah, it is.
- 44:54Andrea: And then you get there and you're like oh, it's actually a different Jacob.
- 44:57Andrea: It's not my brother Jacob, it's another kid named Jacob.
- 45:01Eric: That woman's Elliot's relative right.
- 45:05Andrea: I thought so.
- 45:07Eric: And so that's where I had the same name.
- 45:09Andrea: Right, and so that's where I'm like, that's where I have to go back and kind of listen, because I feel like again, that estate plays a, the Lingonmore estate plays some sort of role.
- 45:17Andrea: Otherwise, why do they keep bringing us back to this house?
- 45:20Andrea: And Elliot and Kat are both hearing like voices there.
- 45:24Andrea: So that that's why I'm like well, why does Elliot all of a sudden hear these voices of like ghost or whatever it's you know he's hearing?
- 45:32Andrea: So the whole thing is it's intriguing, but I'm with you, like this could go south real quick for me, or it's going to keep my attention.
- 45:41Andrea: So, like my, I'm still there, like I'm still enjoying it, but again, it's a very tight rope for me as well.
- 45:47Andrea: As is this going to keep chugging down a good path, or are we going to?
- 45:50Andrea: We're going to hit hit the wall and I'm going to be not as excited to watch it each week.
- 45:56Eric: So do you have any fan corner for this and what people are thinking about season two so far?
- 46:04Andrea: I didn't do episode two after episode two here, but after the first episode people were all in, so people were higher on it than probably I was, and that was, I mean, I guess, to be expected A lot of.
- 46:15Andrea: I haven't really heard that many criticisms of it yet, so again, I think people are pulling along and then we'll just.
- 46:23Andrea: I think the next few episodes really are a make it or break.
- 46:25Andrea: What do they do?
- 46:26Andrea: Do they find Jacob?
- 46:28Andrea: How is this going to play out?
- 46:29Andrea: Does Dell start to time travel with them to see Jacob?
- 46:33Andrea: Does he come back?
- 46:35Andrea: Does he want to come back?
- 46:37Eric: If they drag him back into the pond and he comes out, is he going to be cat's age or is he going to still be nine?
- 46:45Eric: This is weird time travel in this, in this movie or series, yeah.
- 46:54Andrea: I mean yeah, with going back to 1814 and if he's still nine there.
- 46:59Eric: But they're pulling them back into 2024.
- 47:02Eric: So it seems like he should be 40 or 36, or how old cat is.
- 47:10Andrea: And then the same with like what looked like Colton, the shadow of the back of his head was watching the fireworks, watching his family, and that I'm thinking they'll come back to that, or why would they have shown us the back of some man's head watching the family?
- 47:25Andrea: That's got to come back in at some point and we have to learn who.
- 47:29Andrea: Who was that?
- 47:32Eric: We're going to jump back to season one when see the other thing cat kills her dad, whatever.
- 47:41Andrea: So you didn't cry at that.
- 47:43Eric: I did not cry at that.
- 47:44Eric: I'm like see what you get or not dealing with your trauma.
- 47:49Andrea: Oh gosh.
- 47:51Eric: And he looks up at her and is like, recognizes her, or would you think?
- 47:56Eric: Is that like a oh, I'm dying, so this is as I'm passing, type moment?
- 48:03Eric: Or was this something that he had known and just now let on because he was dying?
- 48:12Andrea: Well, they could really play with that.
- 48:13Andrea: I don't know if they intentionally did that for this next season, if they knew there was going to be a season two, but I feel like because they left it open ended, they could play with it Like yeah, he's time traveled and he knows what his adult cat looks like and that's why he knew this was going to happen.
- 48:31Andrea: But then you get into the time travel are we going forward or backward?
- 48:35Andrea: And then you kind of lose some of the time travel rules, which it's going to lose people too.
- 48:42Eric: Okay.
- 48:42Eric: So I asked Benjamin this.
- 48:44Eric: I'll ask you if you had access to your pond, would you go backwards or forward, and where when?
- 48:52Eric: I should say now where, when.
- 48:56Andrea: I would say I feel like backwards and like to my childhood and like be more present, because I feel like when you're a kid, you're not, you don't appreciate it.
- 49:05Eric: What the hell is that going to be If you're going back and you're a child again?
- 49:08Eric: You're not going to, all of a sudden, have this awareness of an adult.
- 49:10Andrea: No, no, that's what I want.
- 49:12Eric: I want my awareness like an adult mind, but in my childhood, no, you're going to be back there eating your burgers and doing everything else.
- 49:18Eric: A little kid.
- 49:18Andrea: No, ross, nobody did that, or I didn't do that, you did when you were a little kid you did tapstick.
- 49:31Eric: I'd go back.
- 49:31Eric: What'd you do?
- 49:31Eric: I'd go back and enjoy the 80s again I had a great time then do it again and just have fun with it.
- 49:38Eric: It would now I would say, as you said, having your awareness of an adult going back, because I've had this discussion with many people.
- 49:48Eric: I went to this prep school.
- 49:51Eric: That was really high pressure and I had a blast.
- 49:57Eric: I've discovered as an adult a lot of people had really bad times because they were just either stressed they just had a lot of family pressures, all sorts of things that were going on.
- 50:11Eric: Most people actually did not have a great time or there were other people who I just sort of looked at and they're the popular person.
- 50:21Eric: So I'm not gonna talk to you and put them in their clicks and didn't really know them, but just sort of created who they were.
- 50:29Eric: And then I've got to know them as adults and several of them I've just become really good friends with and I discovered they were nothing like who I thought, who I assumed they were in high school, because I, once again, never took the chance to get to know them.
- 50:44Eric: So I would like to have that awareness to go back to those years and these people who I think are just absolutely fantastic people and get to know them at an earlier age so I could know them for a longer time.
- 50:57Eric: In fact, two of them have unfortunately past.
- 51:00Eric: One died of anorexia and another one died of she had some like hyperthyroidy type thing that just destroyed her, which was terrible.
- 51:13Eric: So it'd be great just to get to know them at a younger age.
- 51:17Eric: So that's what I would do.
- 51:18Eric: I wouldn't want to like, relive or change things because it was fantastic, but just know people with an adult mind.
- 51:28Andrea: Yeah, see, you said same.
- 51:30Andrea: I would like that adult mind.
- 51:31Eric: You want to do it when you're like five.
- 51:33Andrea: Well, no, not five, like I would say.
- 51:36Andrea: Like the 90s that's when I was my formative years was like in the 90s.
- 51:40Andrea: Okay, okay, I can just have that awareness.
- 51:42Eric: Yeah, it is a kid.
- 51:43Eric: So I was thinking like a little kid.
- 51:44Eric: I wasn't thinking you're like going to your prom eating burgers.
- 51:49Andrea: No, my prom would have been in the 2000s, early 2000s, but I mean, I do think that, going back in time, I think a lot of it because I was listening to Ally's interview and she had said the 70s and 80s, and I think a lot of it, especially for kiddos, cause she is in her 20s, which is a kiddo to me but you didn't grow up without social media, without phones.
- 52:10Andrea: You know, and I literally probably am one of the last generation like in that 03, cause some people had phones and they were with flip phones and a lot of us didn't.
- 52:20Andrea: Like I never had a cell phone in high school, and I think that is an era where, if you've never experienced that, there is a mystique about it and I am so glad I didn't grow up with that.
- 52:30Andrea: It just is stressful to have to think about that on top of going through your high school formative years and then having that on top of it, just how connected everyone can be and it's hard to shut off and having everything at your fingertips again blessing and a curse.
- 52:47Eric: Exactly, 100% agree, 100% agree.
- 52:48Eric: The.
- 52:49Eric: You know I'm Gen X so I can go back to it where you do just disappear.
- 52:54Eric: Yeah, I drove to from Michigan, went with my friend we're getting his car and we drove to Syracuse to go look at the school one weekend, without just gotten the car and went, didn't tell parents and do anything.
- 53:11Eric: You could just disappear and drive multi-state away.
- 53:15Eric: Right Today my daughter lives in Boston.
- 53:20Eric: I talk to her every single day.
- 53:22Eric: I'm pretty sure what's going on.
- 53:25Eric: If I text her and I don't hear back in 15 minutes I am convinced she's either dead in a ditch or she's kidnapped in a trunk and I'm in sheer panic mode, whereas, like you, could just disappear for days and your parents wouldn't care.
- 53:43Andrea: It was such a different time, such a different time it was, it was, oh, All right well, we'll stay tuned for what we think about the rest of the way home.
- 53:51Andrea: Both of us sounds like we are either gonna love or at least tolerate it for you, and we'll fall off the wagon.
- 53:58Eric: I just realized maybe I'll time travel too.
- 54:00Eric: Before I watched grass store mysteries grass sale mysteries, not grass store grass sale mysteries and saved myself that hour in 24 minutes.
- 54:11Andrea: Oh, it wasn't that bad.
- 54:12Eric: It wasn't that bad yeah.
- 54:15Eric: I'll save my time travel for a bigger, my dip in the pond, for something a little bigger than that.
- 54:19Andrea: Yeah, I don't like it Okay, andrea this is a lot of fun.
- 54:23Eric: We'll be talking next week about the Gilded Newport Mysteries and episode three to see if it's taking that good turn or bad turn.
- 54:35Eric: Yeah, we'll see.
- 54:36Andrea: Make or break episode.
- 54:38Eric: All right good night Bye.
