- 0:00Hello, and welcome to the Eye Opener Society. This is Brittany,
- 0:04and I am here to interview your two lovely hosts of Eye Opener Society,
- 0:12Gary, and newly joining Lizzie.
- 0:17Hey everyone how's everybody doing it's
- 0:20gary here of course and i got my new host i
- 0:23don't even call her a co-host anymore she is host of eyeopener society lizzie
- 0:28and britney thank you thank you for taking over the show here yes thanks for
- 0:33having me back lizzie how are you today doing pretty well super excited to be
- 0:39here so glad to meet you got to hear about you from earlier this week.
- 0:43Yes, it's always a joy to join Gary and be able to be a part of this podcast and its journey.
- 0:53So I know, Lizzie, you're new.
- 0:57I listened to your very first podcast where Gary had introduced you.
- 1:04And I understand you both met from TikTok. Is that correct?
- 1:09Yeah, I had just made my TikTok and started connecting with people and immediately
- 1:14found Gary, and he's like a podcast.
- 1:17So, Gary, was this something that I know you're starting to change your platforms more towards TikTok?
- 1:25Was this something when you were on TikTok, you know, promoting the show that you noticed, Lizzie?
- 1:32Was it something that just popped up in your, like, For You page?
- 1:36Um yeah i got onto tiktok uh
- 1:39just for the second time the first time i was i
- 1:42had no idea about it and i didn't like having a platform
- 1:46across all these platforms because it took
- 1:49up all my time but since i'm shying away from
- 1:51facebook more and more tiktok was
- 1:54really doing well and blowing up for me so
- 1:57i was just doing little videos and dropping the eye opener society
- 2:00name there and yeah across my feed I remember
- 2:03there was one video where I seen Lizzie and I was like oh wow that's pretty
- 2:07interesting not a big deal but then she came back again there was another video
- 2:10that popped up in a feed and I was like wow she's really got something to say
- 2:15and I found myself like just drawn to not just the fact that she's got good
- 2:21content that she was talking about,
- 2:24she's got this amazing energy that I just it is one of those things where you
- 2:28actually feel I mean And she's way across, you know, in the Midwest and I'm
- 2:32all over here on the East.
- 2:33But I just felt like, wow, there's something about Lizzie.
- 2:36I said, this is really amazing. And I was looking to try and get someone to work with me on the show.
- 2:42So I just reached out to her and we started talking. And I was like,
- 2:47you know what? And guess what? You're going to be host of Eye Opener Society. Yeah.
- 2:51And Lizzie, are you newer to TikTok or is that something that when you saw Gary
- 2:58or when you saw the Eye Opener Society page, was it something that resonated with you and drew you in?
- 3:04Oh, yeah, for sure. I'd only been on TikTok for two months and I get a lot of
- 3:09messages to join people's groups, mostly the Illuminati right now.
- 3:13Not sure if that's a scam or not, you know, but but for Eye Opener Society,
- 3:19that sounded pretty cool. Well, we got on the phone and chatted.
- 3:22He had a really nice energy. I could tell we just have similar but very,
- 3:27very different perspectives. So I thought that that would be fun.
- 3:30And I tried to do a podcast back in the day, but I just was like not prepared
- 3:34to get on the air. You know what I mean?
- 3:37And so I was excited. It had been in my mind to maybe do it again here soon.
- 3:41So it was just kind of like perfect cascade.
- 3:44And then I listened to a couple of the episodes and just loved all the other
- 3:47people that I'd heard. And so I was just excited to be a part of it.
- 3:52My, when I came on, when I was first introduced, it was very kind of similar to your experience.
- 3:59I listened to one episode and it just, it drew me in. Like it was just like
- 4:03a black hole, essentially.
- 4:05It was sucked right in and I just, it resonated with me.
- 4:08So I think it's interesting because you both are newer to TikTok and how that connection was made,
- 4:16um especially you know not
- 4:19having your paths cross until that point and
- 4:22then finding that friendship that
- 4:25you guys have so Gary are you starting to get used to TikTok now are you liking
- 4:31it yeah because I was blowing up on YouTube and then all of a sudden YouTube
- 4:36uh because I mentioned one thing about um water and its accessibility and you
- 4:41know why are we forced to pay for it
- 4:44all of a sudden I was going from like 10,000 views down to like two views.
- 4:48So they started shadow banning me. I said, that figures, you know, go figure.
- 4:52So, but TikTok, I got, what took me five years to get to 30,000 views on YouTube
- 4:58took me only less than a month on TikTok and people are a little bit more freer
- 5:03to express themselves on TikTok.
- 5:05So that's why I kind of like, and since Facebook shadow bans you,
- 5:08no matter what you talk about, you know, I figured Tik TOK is going to work.
- 5:12And the fact that I met Lizzie and interesting little backstory too,
- 5:15for both of you, actually, um, because I haven't really mentioned it to the
- 5:19audience because I know I put it up on Facebook.
- 5:21I actually have two co-hosts that I was going to do for, you know, eye-opener society.
- 5:26I was going to do two episodes with Lizzie and then I had this girl, Danielle too, as well.
- 5:32As soon as I spoke with Danielle, same thing, had an amazing connection.
- 5:37The only problem is she was, and it was really good, she lived very close behind
- 5:41me. So she could have actually came in the studio and all that.
- 5:43Kind of like I wish I could do with Lizzie. But we decided never to get in the
- 5:47same room together because we'll open up wormholes together with all of our energy.
- 5:52But Danielle was in the process of moving out of state.
- 5:57So she moved, like, I met her on a Monday and she moved that Friday.
- 6:02And so I don't know what the future holds with that Because I haven't heard
- 6:06back from it And I'm just backing away Because obviously that's a huge change
- 6:10for anybody So, you know, I don't think they're ready to Start talking about
- 6:13a podcast episode yet So in the future, maybe.
- 6:17You know, I would like to I think she has something else as well And I think
- 6:20it would be great Maybe like myself,
- 6:23Lizzie, Danielle Could do a show, all three of us together I mean,
- 6:25there's so many ideas But right now, Lizzie's got all the energy in the world
- 6:30And so she could occupy all that space.
- 6:33Yeah. I just moved, but I like to live life on the wild side. So here I am.
- 6:40I think I've done two since I moved.
- 6:43So it's like, oh, hey, like, let's just add some more, you know,
- 6:48just, well, this is a welcome and pleasant distraction that reminds me and grounds
- 6:54me, which just saying that, you know, listening to the first podcast that you
- 7:00and Lizzie did together.
- 7:01Lizzie mentioned about feelings and that they're in you and just how she likes to learn about them.
- 7:08And I was sitting there and I was just like, wow, it's so true.
- 7:14And they drive feelings and energy drive people in different ways.
- 7:19So again, I felt myself being pulled back into the podcast with Lizzie's energy,
- 7:25even though I had never talked to her or met her until today.
- 7:30So I think it's going,
- 7:33Sorry. No, I'm so sorry. I don't know how to pop in on a podcast.
- 7:39People just go with the flow. Yeah.
- 7:43So I think it's definitely interesting how everything has kind of worked out
- 7:48and how the direction of everything has shifted in a positive way.
- 7:53The change, Gary, you can't stay stagnant forever.
- 7:56Change is a welcome thing. Sometimes they say if it's broke, don't fix it.
- 8:01But this brings in a whole different light, and it's definitely drawn me back
- 8:08in more and wanting me to be more active with listening to everything.
- 8:14So we'll shift a little, and I know I just touched on this, but Lizzie,
- 8:21in the very first episode,
- 8:22you were kind of talking about how you got into the energy readings and the
- 8:28things that you're doing.
- 8:29And I know Gary knows how to read energy well, so I think that's why you two have connected so well.
- 8:37But what drew you in? Was it a person? Was it a place? Was it a thing?
- 8:42I know you said around 2019 is when you really started getting into it.
- 8:47What was it that led you on that start of that journey?
- 8:52Well, it was just kind of like a beautiful moment. I'd just gone out of massage
- 8:56school, and so they do a little bit of energy work there.
- 8:59And then now I was working at a massage studio, so I was surrounded by other energy workers.
- 9:05A lot of them were doing different things like Reiki, but it was really exciting
- 9:10because previously, even though I'd been attempting to do these things for a
- 9:14while, I was the only one.
- 9:16And so you don't get a lot of feedback, don't get a lot of practice on other people.
- 9:20And so when all of a sudden there was a bunch of people who were super excited
- 9:24to just like trade skills and experiment with each other, it just kind of blossomed from there.
- 9:30Kind of like this podcast is going to
- 9:33blossom you two are going to grow together because
- 9:36I think Gary has a lot to offer with
- 9:39knowledge and wisdom and just life experiences
- 9:43and then you obviously have your energy you're good with reading people's energy
- 9:49so I think this is going to be blossoming into something awesome I think it's
- 9:57going to be I think it's going to be fun I laughed at it So far,
- 10:01they're fun to listen to.
- 10:03Oh, they're really fun. There's, I think that's what I love.
- 10:07And I know we're shifting, or Gary, you're shifting here.
- 10:11But I think not only are they fun, but.
- 10:15You can always take away something from one of the podcasts.
- 10:19And even with like your most recent one, the introduction one,
- 10:23I took something away from that.
- 10:26And I, that's what I love so much. Because a lot of podcasts you read or you
- 10:30listen to, there's some you're just like, eh, this isn't, but this one immediately
- 10:36you're drawn in and immediately,
- 10:38whether it's within the first five minutes
- 10:41or the last you know five minutes you're pulling
- 10:44something out of it that you can apply to your daily life and
- 10:47i love that raw realness of the
- 10:50show so yeah i appreciate that i mean it's kind of what i go for um i know there's
- 10:57always a shift and i love to break the rules because when it always came to
- 11:01podcasting they always say consistency
- 11:04is key consistency is key but consistency to me is boring as fuck.
- 11:08So I want to change things up every now and then.
- 11:12And unfortunately, when it comes to people, like I had Jennifer Miller sitting
- 11:16in, she'd done a wonderful job, you know, when Hannah couldn't be here.
- 11:19And, you know, she had so much to lend to as well.
- 11:24So yeah, I think you do take away something from a podcast because not only
- 11:29do you have my perspectives, but you have the perspectives of somebody else,
- 11:33you know, and we don't always have to be on the same page.
- 11:36Um, I know we're not on the same page, like Lizzie and I, as far as like,
- 11:40I see myself more as the focused, um.
- 11:44In the moment, you know, person where Lizzie, Lizzie's Lizzie,
- 11:48she's got such an amount of energy and I just love it.
- 11:52But even though we're not exactly the same, we share so much together.
- 11:58And like, she didn't talk to me today. And I actually, you know what? I actually miss her.
- 12:03And I like to, you know, I didn't just gain another host for the show.
- 12:07I gained a good friend on this.
- 12:10Well, that leads me, how would you, I know you said she's, you know,
- 12:16the happy and the go lucky, but how would you describe her personality when
- 12:21she's doing the podcast?
- 12:22Because you obviously get to have a bit of a deeper connection with her outside
- 12:26of the podcast, but on air, how would you explain her personality?
- 12:33Well, Lizzie, well, on our first episode, right before we got on,
- 12:36she did a little bit of energy work with me which i thought was pretty you know
- 12:39cool and it gave me an idea like even though the last two episodes we didn't
- 12:44do i just that was time constraints but i told him before we go on air it would
- 12:50be great to do a little energy work with each other and it kind of,
- 12:53fires you up a little bit but lizzie's energy
- 12:56uh she is
- 13:00the universe she can expand her mind
- 13:03way out into the universe to the point it's
- 13:06so scattered and then she could bring it all into
- 13:09this tiny little quantum physics little kind of
- 13:12world and then blow it right back up and
- 13:15i think that's the personality that she has and that's the personality i'm
- 13:18actually working off of because i find it
- 13:21exciting i like watching how other people describe themselves
- 13:24talk about things they're passionate about and lizzie has that
- 13:28it may seem scattered she could
- 13:30be so grand you know in a grand scale
- 13:34and then boom she focuses down concentrates on
- 13:36one thing but when i watch her i could see how it affects her
- 13:40and each you know thought is actually taking over her and i can actually physically
- 13:46see this and i'm playing off of that energy so that's the way i described lizzie
- 13:52all right that actually made me feel very seen thank you.
- 13:59I think you did hit the I in the first episode and when I was watching you guys
- 14:05and how you were interacting with the cameras I think that brings a whole new
- 14:08perspective as well because it used to be just voices now you actually have
- 14:14faces too to see and actions and how people,
- 14:19think through things and work through things when you're on air and it was,
- 14:24I resonated with Lizzie because one point she wanted to ask something and she's
- 14:28like, I just drew a blank and then you could see it literally come back into
- 14:32her and she's like, oh, I remember.
- 14:33And then she started to go into it and I'm like, oh, I'm not the only one.
- 14:37I think, Gary, I probably, you know, talk to you sometimes where I'm like,
- 14:42squirrel, oh, we got to go back.
- 14:44So, like, definitely I love that about you, Lizzie. And I think that just from
- 14:51the little bit that I've got to learn, it's accurate.
- 14:55So, and Lizzie, on the other hand, how would you describe Gary's personality and how he is as a person?
- 15:05That's funny. I would almost say the very opposite, which is part of why I think
- 15:09the podcast is going to flow so nicely.
- 15:11Because he's just so very grounded and logical.
- 15:15And he just kind of like looks at the whole thing and
- 15:18then just like can express it and so like
- 15:21he said I'm all over the place and I'm just trying to
- 15:24I'm just like praying that it makes sense to the other person and
- 15:27he's like yep and this is what she said and I'm like oh thank
- 15:30goodness that makes sense I love
- 15:33that grounded that is exactly yes like
- 15:38his tone and everything his energy it's just
- 15:40very like smooth you know oh
- 15:44yeah trust me there are some times where I come to Gary and
- 15:47I'm just like I'm all worked up and then by the time I leave
- 15:50I'm like thank you thank you thank you I
- 15:52and even just today like it was a busy
- 15:55chaotic day and I'm sure you guys
- 15:58could both tell you know in the beginning I was just kind of a
- 16:01little strung tight and now I'm just relaxed
- 16:04and it feels I love that about Gary that grounded
- 16:07I love that good nice description
- 16:11Lizzie so is there is there anything that we maybe didn't touch about that when
- 16:20we were talking through maybe we didn't get to touch on at that point that either
- 16:24one of you want to talk through um,
- 16:29You're good there, Lizzie, or do you want me to take this one? No, you go ahead.
- 16:34All right. Yeah, no, we touched on, like I say, with the energy work that Lizzie
- 16:40and I would have first episode, episode one-on-one.
- 16:43And then I think because we didn't do that and we recorded back-to-back episodes,
- 16:48I could tell Lizzie was slightly disconnected from it and she was having a tough
- 16:54time getting her thoughts together,
- 16:56which is perfect because that's such a human response, you know?
- 17:00And I felt that and I was able to bring her out of it.
- 17:04And because like you said, sometimes because it happens to me,
- 17:07too, because this is always unedited and unscripted.
- 17:11So I'll sit here and I'm just I'm envisioning words going into my brain and
- 17:16I'm like, I'm hoping it makes sense.
- 17:19So in that case, I'm a lot like you, Lizzie. It's just sometimes I'm like, did that make sense?
- 17:24Should I have worded it differently? But it's too late. We're not editing anything.
- 17:28So I get it, but it helps because that's when listening skills,
- 17:33you know, start to take over.
- 17:36Like I could hear all the words and as scattered as they may be,
- 17:40you know, I get what she's saying and I could condense it, you know,
- 17:45into a much smaller spot, I guess, you know, to help her out.
- 17:49But, and that's not anything negative against Lizzie.
- 17:53Lizzie's, uh, is her own self. And that's why I find it so beautiful about her.
- 17:57She is able to express herself in her own way
- 18:00and i am hoping that
- 18:03there's going to be more listeners coming in to
- 18:06see you know or hear from lizzie as well because yeah that's just the direction
- 18:11i like to go like i said fuck the consistency i'm gonna go i'm gonna do this
- 18:16podcast it's going to be our show and that's the way it's going to be and i'm
- 18:21gonna have a good time doing it and i'm hoping And Lizzie's in here for the long haul,
- 18:25which I'm pretty sure she is from everything she had said.
- 18:28Yeah, she's going to be here. And I'm going to really appreciate that and appreciate
- 18:32having it. Just like I appreciate you, Brittany.
- 18:33I appreciate you stepping up and, you know, handling the show like this.
- 18:38Oh, listen, I love, call me crazy, but I just love to interview.
- 18:44So this is always a joy and so much fun for me.
- 18:48So like, I like to learn about people.
- 18:52I like to learn about who they are as a person.
- 18:55And I know we didn't dive into this, but like backgrounds, because everybody has their own story.
- 19:01Everybody's gone through something. So I like to hear that. And sometimes when
- 19:05you listen to somebody's story, you can see how it's shaped that person in a way.
- 19:11So I'm excited to listen to you guys in the future and see where this goes.
- 19:18So thank you for allowing me to come on and interview both of you and kind of
- 19:23get to know both of you better.
- 19:25It helped me and I'm hoping it helps listeners as well.
- 19:30And then if anybody does have any questions Gary I'm sure they could drop them on TikTok and then.
- 19:36We can maybe have a part two so yeah
- 19:40find us on TikTok find us on Facebook I mean
- 19:42we're across all platforms so just search Eye Opener Society
- 19:45we come up all over the place that's a good thing at least I got
- 19:48the SEO is working after all these years we're
- 19:52on all platforms that's great and uh
- 19:55just in closing here like you said about learning
- 19:58about people and all what's going to be a lot of fun is
- 20:01i do have some ideas for that since lizzie and
- 20:04i are still in that you know get to know each other stage basically
- 20:08um a lot of that is going to reflect in the podcast and yeah there's going to
- 20:13be things she's going to learn about me there's things i'm going to learn about
- 20:17her and i think that's going to reflect in a couple future episodes i have some
- 20:22ideas i always have ideas going, but you're right.
- 20:25It is learning and I'm enjoying it because it's all fresh, new,
- 20:29and exciting to me as well.
- 20:30And what I like about Lizzie, I think every time I talk to her,
- 20:34there's always going to be something new to learn about with her, you know?
- 20:38So that's why I don't want to go too deep yet because I want to save that this way.
- 20:42Every time we talk, every time we collaborate, there's going to be something there.
- 20:46And, you know, I mean, I know I'm making it sound like a big love fest over
- 20:50here, but Lizzie, you've been wonderful so far. And thank you.
- 20:54You really, you breathe it a whole new life into, you know, the show as well
- 21:00as me, and I can't appreciate that enough.
- 21:03Well, thank you. And I promise I won't always be this scattered.
- 21:06I mean, it is kind of my natural tendency. So to some degree for always,
- 21:11but you also, uh, we started recording this kind of at an interesting time in
- 21:16my life as I'm, you know, shifting everything over.
- 21:19So that's made it a little bit extra dramatic on that one.
- 21:24Well, you do you and you always be you. All right.
- 21:27That's the most important thing that goes for you too, Brittany,
- 21:29you know, that I always teach just be you.
- 21:32I mean, you know, screw somebody if they don't like you. You know,
- 21:35everybody's got their own personality.
- 21:37Everybody's got, you know, something about them. And I appreciate everybody's
- 21:42contributions, no matter what it is.
- 21:44And you two right now, thank you both. I really appreciate everything.
- 21:49Yeah. Thank you, Brittany. It was so nice to meet you. Thanks for coming on with us.
- 21:54Yes. Thank you for having me. And like I said, feel free.
- 21:58I would love to do like a follow episode or a part two, like me invite myself
- 22:04back because I just love it so much.
- 22:06So, yeah, we'll have you back. Don't worry, Brittany.
- 22:13I mean, what's great is sometimes it's difficult for like a podcast host to
- 22:19host a show with certain topics or certain ideas.
- 22:22I'd rather give the idea to you and then you take it and do what you will with it.
- 22:26So don't worry you'll be back and look i got this sun right
- 22:29on my face it's so cool look at that so yeah just
- 22:32to mention real quick yeah we're on tiktok we are
- 22:35on facebook um we are also now on bitch shoot as well i haven't checked it very
- 22:40recently it's just another place i'm putting the episodes up and we're also
- 22:43still on youtube so if you want to see this sunlight that's hitting my face
- 22:46you can check us out but if you just want to listen to the audio we're on every
- 22:50single um platform there is i'm pretty sure unless there's new ones out there.
- 22:54But I want to thank you both again and again and again. Thank you,
- 22:57Lizzie. Thank you, Brittany, for doing this. You're the best. Yes, thank you.
