- 0:00Are we talking about the concept of how, how important a person
- 0:04is it for a person to know the why of their existence, which is
- 0:08why I'm on this earth. You've heard people sadly say I
- 0:10don't know why I'm here. I don't know what my purpose is.
- 0:12I don't know what why I'm going through this.
- 0:15And we all say when we're going through something why, But he
- 0:19explains man's mission in this world.
- 0:21Name of this chapter, the 1st chapter is very paramount for a
- 0:25person to be focused, which means if I know why I'm here,
- 0:29I'm going to ignore the things that taking me away from my
- 0:32purpose and I'm going to be laser focused on those items
- 0:36that fit perfectly with my focus and my purpose.
- 0:39Now, the only challenge is it's not that defined.
- 0:41It's not that simple. Can't say I was so simple.
- 0:43I should be right to be a Tamika Ham.
- 0:44What does it mean to be a person oppressed?
- 0:47To be all the things that they talk about when they praise the
- 0:49person? Is that why I'm here?
- 0:50Somewhat. But there's also actually more
- 0:52nuances than that. Maybe it's to you know, be
- 0:55better for the people around you to lift them up to help them.
- 0:59Pretty much it really means the why in general is any situation
- 1:03that you find yourself in life to do the best that you can do
- 1:06on that and not get distracted by everything.
- 1:09The world is trying to distract us by the world destruction in a
- 1:12way something unbelievable mentioned yesterday.
- 1:15The world is a polar opposite of your purpose.
- 1:18God and put you on this earth for a purpose.
- 1:20He put you in this world with the perfect ability to fulfill
- 1:23your purpose. Literally no one else can do
- 1:25your job as good as you, and no one else.
- 1:28It in Europe has all the tools necessary around you for your
- 1:32job as you do. That's clear.
- 1:34Get. At the same time, that same
- 1:36world is built in a way that it looks like everything going on
- 1:41in the world is a distraction, is meant to pull us away from
- 1:45the right of living, of life. Which means at the same time,
- 1:47I'm here for a purpose. If I were looking at myself from
- 1:51afar, I would know exactly what to tell myself, what to do, how
- 1:55to use the world around me for the sake of my purpose.
- 1:57Everything is structured perfectly for my purpose.
- 2:00Yet somehow, some way, that same world, the world around me, is
- 2:04also pulling me away from my purpose and doing everything in
- 2:06its power to try to fight me from being who I want to be.
- 2:10This is literally the world we live in.
- 2:11So you have to know the why, and you have to therefore avoid all
- 2:14the distractions. I take you away from that.
- 2:16Why? As he's telling you so the.
- 2:17Only way you a person could look at it really is because it's,
- 2:22you know, it's like you do the kids sometimes, you know, you
- 2:24make these obstacle courses for them and you make them go
- 2:27around. So if you don't really have the
- 2:31perspective that Hashem is, is creating this muscle memory item
- 2:35that's the best for you, that once you survive it, then you've
- 2:39already accomplished a lot, then there's no way you could really
- 2:43have a relationship with Hashem. Because if not, it's all seems
- 2:46like trickery and the and and and deception, yes.
- 2:50It's a. It's a somewhat of a naturally
- 2:53bothersome things. Why do we have you know, he
- 2:55talks about the Itza hara. So why do I have the Itza evil
- 2:59inclination and you can also say all the things in life that seem
- 3:03to take me down right. You know, I'll give you an
- 3:06example this week for me, my schedule changes in the
- 3:09summertime and the certain sense was to be freer supposed to be
- 3:12freer because I don't really have the same she was scheduled.
- 3:16I do my one thing am I learning associated free For whatever
- 3:18reason, this week was by far about one of the most
- 3:22distracting weeks and I'm more tired and more rundown and and
- 3:29have more things to do and it's supposed to be the opposite.
- 3:32And unless I stop and say, hey, you're not catching on.
- 3:35God wants you to figure out a way to turn something into
- 3:39freedom to learn, not just assume that you have it made in
- 3:43the shade and then it's going to be free.
- 3:44Unless I catch on to that. I'm going to be fighting this
- 3:47the whole summer and my whole life.
- 3:48And the same issue with everything.
- 3:49If a person does not recognize that this gets out, all that
- 3:53we're facing, all these things in our world which are
- 3:56distractions are there for us to get past them.
- 3:59If we don't realize that, it's going to be very frustrating
- 4:01because you're going to have in the back of your mind your
- 4:02understanding of why you're here.
- 4:03You're going to say, OK, I'm here to be a good father, may to
- 4:06be a good husband. I'm here to learn.
- 4:08I'm here to pray and May to connect to God.
- 4:10Great. That's why I'm here.
- 4:11Yet everything in my life seems to be the opposite.
- 4:14My kids are my behaving and not allowing me to talk to them for
- 4:18them for me to have an impact on them, right.
- 4:21My my marriage has things. My, my making my, my making
- 4:24money has has issues. My whatever it may be, my
- 4:28relationships have things. And you're saying this, I'm just
- 4:30trying. All I want to do is try to do my
- 4:33best. Why am I facing these things?
- 4:35And the answer is if you solely as a focused on your purpose, if
- 4:40you don't look at these distractions and say to these
- 4:41say to yourself, they really they're fighting my focus, but
- 4:45at the same time, I'm going to go right past them and get to my
- 4:49purpose. If you're lazy, focus on your
- 4:51purpose, you'll not be distracted by these things that
- 4:55are taking you down. So for example, the kids, right?
- 4:58No one. And you know you're here as a
- 4:59father or grandfather to be there for them.
- 5:01You know that you know you're going to raise them and you know
- 5:04that they're making it difficult.
- 5:06So you're saying to yourself, I don't get it.
- 5:08If I'm here for that purpose, why are they making it
- 5:10difficult? And the answer is to get past
- 5:13that, to be able to really raise them, not just do what your
- 5:18parents did and be the person, as you know, the, the, the
- 5:22Father's Day father and the guy who he gives the kids the hug.
- 5:25And that's that nonsense. To really be a person who raises
- 5:29them, raises them means he understands his children.
- 5:31Raises them means he figures a way around the issue and he
- 5:35comes up with a creative concept to make things better on and on.
- 5:38All these things you have to work on, that's real raising.
- 5:40And it only happens when someone is so laser focus on their
- 5:43purpose that they can see past the distraction.
- 5:46The same thing you shoot everything in life.
- 5:48Such an amazing item. Like growing up, right, my
- 5:53quality was as typical Israeli and he didn't do any of that,
- 5:57right? Zero of it.
- 5:58And I thought that I was getting the raw ends of a childhood
- 6:03attack. They can.
- 6:04They went to baseball games, people.
- 6:06They did. We did stuff, but not the
- 6:08typical stuff, right? And only, and and we went to
- 6:11work from like very young age. So, and but only later in life
- 6:17did I get to say, wow, yeah, he made my life easy because I did
- 6:22my toiling right, right, right in my.
- 6:26In my, you know. And, and you get to take the
- 6:29perspective that there's a different path for every person.
- 6:32You know, the kids today get have this FOMO item where
- 6:36everything is, oh, but this guy's doing this.
- 6:37Oh, and they're going here, can we do this?
- 6:39Give it, they go. But that's not for everybody.
- 6:42Yeah, 100%. And by the way, about that,
- 6:45about the FOMO item, which is, I don't know Allah, but I'm
- 6:48finding that it's, it's unbelievably strong thing with
- 6:52all the kids. FOMO, fear, missing out.
- 6:54I got it. How it really means this is that
- 6:57people live in a mindset that they're here and they're worried
- 7:00about not being there and they have this and they're worried
- 7:03about not having that. And if you would look at their
- 7:06life, you would say it's awesome.
- 7:08Yeah, it may have some challenges.
- 7:09Yeah, there might be some worries like everyone has, but
- 7:11it's unbelievably blessed. It's awesome.
- 7:13Yeah. At the same time, you also look
- 7:16at their mind and you say that it's so worried.
- 7:18It's so more than that unhappy. It's so unsettled.
- 7:23It's so like on one leg because they think they have to be doing
- 7:26something else. And it's a very upsetting fact
- 7:28that this exists in the world. But it's a very, very strong
- 7:32dominant mindset that exists today.
- 7:34And yes, as a parent, we want to talk about that.
- 7:36As a parent, our job is to create a way that the child
- 7:40feels so comfortable, his own skin and so happy that he has
- 7:44and content. He doesn't have that foam.
- 7:47Oh, he doesn't have that money so that he wants something else.
- 7:50I mean, good luck trying. It's a very big job.
- 7:52It requires creating a very warm home and requires creating a
- 7:56home that is better than anything else.
- 7:58It's not easy. But the result might not.
- 8:00What I'm saying is the result probably will not be instance.
- 8:04But just know keep on doing your thing with them and they'll get
- 8:08it at their time when they need it to open for them.
- 8:11That's a as apparent to be that 100% right.
- 8:15So he says that's why a man's put in this world or put in this
- 8:17world to do the best that we can do with the tools that God gave
- 8:21us laser focus on our purpose and to live out that purpose.
- 8:25That's the job Now, I guess I said it's vague.
- 8:28So what do you do about the the the vagueness of this reality?
- 8:32I think a person realizes in their life over time why they're
- 8:36here, which means some people want to know why, you know, they
- 8:38always wonder what job should I take, right?
- 8:41Or how should I raise my children and these different
- 8:43things, people will try to learn different things over time.
- 8:47They become some sort of because God put you here on this for
- 8:49this purpose. They become some sort of sense
- 8:53of connection to your purpose, which means you find yourself
- 8:57feeling good in the certain spot.
- 9:00Not good as in feeling good about yourself.
- 9:02That's nice. That's not the point.
- 9:04Feeling right, feeling like you're doing what I sham wants.
- 9:08When you do certain things, when you find yourself doing those
- 9:10things, you end up doing more of those things.
- 9:12Whatever. Maybe every person's got the
- 9:14quote of how much I have to learn and I have to pray.
- 9:17And all learning is good and all praying is good.
- 9:19And you still find even within that, which learning fits you
- 9:22better, suits you, which kind of praying that you do, You know
- 9:26you do long on me, da short on me da, how much you know what
- 9:29you pray, it suits you. And then you also find how you
- 9:33raise your children, how it suits you, what kind of message
- 9:35you get involved in, how that suits you.
- 9:37And those become your sense of purpose.
- 9:40Now, man, keep changing. We can keep changing with this,
- 9:43but it becomes an overall sense of what I should be doing in
- 9:46life, what I should not be doing and what other people are doing
- 9:50is by far the greatest mirage and sketch out there in the
- 9:54world. Even other people doing good
- 9:57things, it's still not you. Someone else doing something
- 10:00great and your mind, it makes you feel a little bit smaller
- 10:03than that because you're not doing what you could be doing.
- 10:05That's not you. You do yours and they do theirs
- 10:09and you keep laser feast of all yours is.
- 10:11And if you can just go to bed every night and say I try my
- 10:14best in all the areas of my life.
- 10:16I try my best to work or try my best with my family, try my best
- 10:19with my children. I try my best to pray and to
- 10:21learn to be a good person and to lift every person I met today.
- 10:24If you try your best in the real areas that matter and you are
- 10:29doing literally tippy top of the best and they have the day of
- 10:33doing your best will make you great.
- 10:36Now you have to avoid distractions, you have to avoid
- 10:38the fights, you have to avoid other people, you know, pulling
- 10:41you down. You have to avoid the
- 10:42influences. Fine, that's a lot.
- 10:45But just saying lay staying lays the focus on your purpose in
- 10:48life will make you the greatest person imaginable.
- 10:51And that has to be a be a person's mindset.
- 10:53And that's how I go on a climb by understanding if I live life
- 10:57the right way and I mainly as a focus.
- 11:00I don't allow these different things.
- 11:02Now wasting time is a distraction, doing something
- 11:05inappropriate, it's 'cause it's definitely a distraction.
- 11:07It's a hurrah saying a hurrah. It's a definitely a distraction.
- 11:11Getting involved in being angry or distraction, being depressed
- 11:16or distraction, these all things that take you away, being
- 11:18jealous of distraction. So there's a lot out there that
- 11:21you got to get past in order to remain this simple definition of
- 11:25a great person that I told you. It's not that simple as I'm
- 11:27saying it. Telling you be your father, a
- 11:29good husband, be a person who's trying for his family, right?
- 11:33Be a good learner, be a good prayer.
- 11:34I'm telling you you're done. That's true, but only because
- 11:39you got past all the different things in life that take you
- 11:42down. And how do you get past them?
- 11:44By remaining laser focused on my purpose in life.
- 11:47And in fact, Kabul is not part of your purpose in life, right?
- 11:52There's nothing for you. All these different, you know,
- 11:54materialistic things, they're not part of your purpose.
- 11:56You know that. And solely, but surely you start
- 11:59to become so clear and you thin the way you skim away all that
- 12:03fat of life and then talk about a person is this clear?
- 12:08Makes sense. It's clear.
- 12:10You have it. And I think it's very doable.
- 12:12It's very doable. And you look at certain people
- 12:14and you look at them and you say, that guy, he's living that
- 12:17way. He doesn't get fazed, he doesn't
- 12:19get bothered. He's not jealous.
- 12:22He's not keeping up with the Joneses, he's not buying
- 12:24everything everyone says. And you know what?
- 12:26He could afford it. Well, even if he can't afford it
- 12:28doesn't make a difference. He just doesn't seem to care.
- 12:31And he seems to have an air about him that makes everyone
- 12:33around you around and feel good around him.
- 12:35Why? Because there's no jealousy,
- 12:38there's no anger, there's no sense of depression.
- 12:41There's no, you know, just there's no over like just
- 12:44something that you get other people nervous.
- 12:46He's just living life his own, doing his own thing.
- 12:49Everyone wants to be like him. And the joke is that he is not
- 12:52jealous of anyone else. And everyone over time wants to
- 12:55be that person because that person has a sense of
- 12:57confidence. Not sketch arrogance.
- 12:59Confidence. You know we always say this all
- 13:01the time. Confidence and arrogance are
- 13:03completely pole opposites. Arrogance is insecurity.
- 13:07Confidence can be humility. Greatest example Moshe Arbeno.
- 13:11Moshe Arbeno was the most humble man ever lived and he might have
- 13:14been the most confident man ever lived there over time.
- 13:16And that is because he made three decisions that were earth
- 13:21shattering decisions that were rather Hashem's consent and God
- 13:25confirmed his decisions that I only remember always two out of
- 13:28three. One was breaking through the hot
- 13:31when he went to Saheta Aega. What kind of decision that is to
- 13:35the hot was the purpose of the world.
- 13:37The hot was the entire world for thousands of years was waiting
- 13:40for this. Was that dangerous on his?
- 13:42Behalf It was a very risky move. Very risky move.
- 13:45You break into the hot. You went out to shaman.
- 13:48God created them his own hands, so to speak.
- 13:51They're miraculous. They're the purpose of the
- 13:53world. They carry the whole total.
- 13:55They're everything. And you just decide, because you
- 13:57don't want to miss out, to receive them once they sink and
- 14:00you think that they're worse off if they receive it, throw it
- 14:03down to the ground, shatter it, and then take it and put it into
- 14:07the fire and melt it into nothing, whatever you do with
- 14:10them. Crazy that would be.
- 14:14Like, let's say now a rabbi is in the kahao and the people are
- 14:19right, and now you, like you pull the plug.
- 14:22You're putting the Torah back in.
- 14:23So much along with the decisiveness and the confidence
- 14:28was the wisdom. And the wisdom was they didn't
- 14:31yet receive it. So I have my moment.
- 14:34They didn't receive it yet they have.
- 14:36It's not really the Torah that the Torah is the Torah connected
- 14:39to the Jew. It wasn't given to the Jew.
- 14:42Here's my couple of seconds, couple of minutes that I can get
- 14:44this done and I can never get this done again.
- 14:46I can never do this. Once they receive it, it's not
- 14:47going to happen, but I can do it before the contract is delivered
- 14:51so to speak. But that took unbelievable level
- 14:54of confidence and yet almost humble man ever lived in God
- 14:58said it himself and Musharraf in the second decision was Hashem
- 15:01gave a sermon IDs or a time for Matanzada.
- 15:05I'll shake the lady today. He had one more day of
- 15:08preparation, pushing off my time to that day.
- 15:11That's also a very, very big deal.
- 15:13And you know the day was preordained.
- 15:15The world was created for that day.
- 15:17Everything was for that day, right?
- 15:18How does that work? And Hashem obviously this is
- 15:21part of Hashem having, you know, man having Bikrida and God being
- 15:24on board. And this is part of that
- 15:25concept. God's original day turns out to
- 15:27be Moshe man. It was chosen day.
- 15:29That takes strength and confidence, yet at the same time
- 15:34unbelievable level of humility. Where lassie's by a shout out
- 15:37they afford him, they rebelled him against him.
- 15:39Unless you have no one up to go try and make Shalom with them,
- 15:42Who does that? Who goes and tries to make
- 15:44Shalom against people that made this ridiculous claim against
- 15:47him? And Sir is a humble man,
- 15:49confident and humble. He's got it.
- 15:52It is the sense of I'm good, I'm living my life, I'm happy with
- 15:58what I have, I'm blessed and I'm good.
- 16:01That level of confidence and it allows a person to remain, leads
- 16:04the focus on life. Whereas a person allows himself
- 16:07to be the original, insecure or both.
- 16:09Then he allows himself to be pulled down constantly.
- 16:13He's running after other people, he's jealous of other people,
- 16:16he's insulted constantly by not being given proper coverage.
- 16:19He's always frustrated by not being spoken about, not being
- 16:22known about and by someone else having something greater.
- 16:24And his whole life is in a tizzy where his life is awesome, but
- 16:28only because he's suffering from confidence, lack of confidence
- 16:32and arrogance, which are one of the same by the way.
- 16:35And because of that, his life is nothing.
- 16:37Because of that, you forget about him being ready to focus
- 16:40on life, forget about him adapting to this, this pedic.
- 16:43So the idea of this pedic is every person should remain clear
- 16:46on what his purpose is and do not allow these things that are
- 16:50meant to pull you down, trying to pull you down do their job.
- 16:53Instead, stop and say to yourself, I see that it's trying
- 16:57to get me. I'm going to hold back.
- 16:58I see that it's trying to get me.
- 17:00I'll push away and you keep these things at Bay.
- 17:03You remain you're you and you go and you go and you go and you go
- 17:07and nobody can stop. You think I look back and they
- 17:09can say, you know, when, when and people are getting married,
- 17:12sometimes they have these families.
- 17:13People are trying to like, why do they all of a sudden their
- 17:16reputation is so beautiful. I'm not talking about families
- 17:18who are well off or famous for that, just famous for their
- 17:21beauty. People wondering like, what is
- 17:23that? That's one of the time you see
- 17:24this when you see people just like them and they just have a
- 17:27certain air of likability and blessed.
- 17:31And that is this because they're doing their thing and nobody
- 17:36else and matters to them and nothing else matters to them.
- 17:39They're just doing their thing the right way.
- 17:40You live life the right way and you do things with your focus of
- 17:44your purpose and this earth. You don't allow distractions
- 17:46take you down. You can go and go and go build
- 17:50and build and no, literally you could just look back at everyone
- 17:54else and say you guys could do your thing.
- 17:56You can fight it out, you can get jealous so you can be busy
- 17:58with yourself. You can do all that stuff.
- 18:00I'm going to mind. I'm the role.
- 18:02That's the idea. A very important to be a mindful
- 18:05like Robbie Diamond story always when he goes and being a rabbi,
- 18:10he goes out of his way. He was pretty nice everybody.
- 18:13So that went and I I've seen a month there.
- 18:15I mean, by the way, it's not he's talking to everybody.
- 18:19He could barely lose and he used to try to help someone with the
- 18:21thing you know, and and that's work because you know, even when
- 18:27you drive with the keypad, like everything you do, right, you
- 18:31have to. So now, now even take that to
- 18:33your home, what your kids see of you.
- 18:36It's almost like you have. For sure.
- 18:38If they see you caring about this stuff, right?
- 18:41They hear a sense in a minute, they see you being have a great
- 18:45day. Because I could wait, brother.
- 18:46It was great, Thomas. It'd be great.
- 18:47Wow. But yeah, it's 100% sure.
- 18:50But that is this is a very hard item.
- 18:52Like, OK, we're here now. OK, this is like a batting
- 18:56practice. So you're in the cage, you're
- 18:57doing everything right. The coaches tell you, hold this
- 19:00one. And then sometimes you go into
- 19:02into the jungle and you're good in the morning.
- 19:05And then at some point of the day you see people that are good
- 19:08people do such like, stupid things, swanky, you know,
- 19:12struggle. That is the struggle.
- 19:14Every person you look at them on their own, almost every person
- 19:17we know, you look at them alone. Just talk to them straight.
- 19:21Beautiful people, what happens, life comes right there, life
- 19:26comes and life and how much light they let life ruin them or
- 19:30affect them is how much they're taking down and how, Which means
- 19:34other people, different things, different issues, and how much
- 19:37they hold themselves strong one way or another is how much that
- 19:40person becomes, that remains and therefore develops into a more
- 19:43beautiful person. It's all about staying on track.
- 19:46We get thrown off all the time staying on track side.
- 19:51Yesterday my wife was.
