- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Hey everyone, and welcome back to the Beyond Limits podcast.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: We are diving into it again today, and we're going to be talking about something that is going to immediately reframe how you not only think about money, but how you approach money.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Because, well, first of all, making money and becoming wealthy are not the same thing.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: And most people never become wealthy, not because they can't make money, but because their nervous system can't hold it.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: And the classic example I always give about this are lottery winners, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of lottery winners who make a lot of money, you know, in a short amount of time, all of a sudden, life-changing amounts of money roll in.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: But studies show that less than 5% actually end up holding the wealth.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: They end up spending it all, and they end up either where they were before, before they, you know, won all that money, or worse off.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: And it's all to do with your nervous system and what your nervous system can allow in, right?
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Because you can make money in a dysregulated state.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm not going to say that you can't make money in a dysregulated state.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: There are plenty of examples of people who make money in a dysregulated way, right?
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: You can grind, you can push, you can hustle, and all of those things will bring cash in.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: But two things end up happening.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Number one, you will always have to push, grind, hustle, force.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Two, you will burn out, right?
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Because it feels like pressuring your system.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: It feels like you're pushing a boulder uphill.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And that's making money.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: So you can do that.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: But wealth, right?
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Wealth is different than simply making money.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Wealth requires stability.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Wealth is what remains after the spike, right?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: After the adrenaline, after the launch.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: If money still feels exciting or fragile or relieving any of those three.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: And if you're like, oh my God, exciting money or fragile, like, you know, walking on eggshells, can't trust it, or relieving, like, oh my God.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Thank God the money, your system hasn't normalized it yet.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: And whatever isn't normalized is never going to stay.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: So I want you to think about it like making money, right, is a performance state.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Wealth is a baseline state.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Making money is something you can do on top of an unstable nervous system, right?
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Any like a certain amount of money you can make for sure.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: But becoming wealthy only happens when the nervous system stabilizes at a higher baseline.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: And so that is the difference, right?
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: Making money is very transient.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: It's episodic.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Wealth is continuous.
- 3:42unknown: Right.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: There's a difference between someone has money and someone has wealth.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Money can happen in spikes, wealth compounds.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: In my kind of world, you are here not for just money that happens in spikes, but wealth that actually compounds and multiplies for you.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: And the nervous system has two very different experiences between making money and building wealth, right?
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Most people make money through a very activated state, and not activated in a good way, but a very adrenaline, urgency, pressure.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: Gotta make this work.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: And from a nervous system perspective, this is right sympathetic dominance.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: You're a sympathetic system when it's a pedal to the metal, when you need to, the adrenaline is on, you know, you can figure it out, you can do it, and money can flow in.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: The nervous system can produce results, right, in this sympathetic fight or flight, but it cannot sustain them.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: It will never be able to sustain it long term.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: It's designed for short-term survival, not long-term holding.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And we are talking about long-term, like wealth, generational legacy long after you're gone.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: So yes, you can push, grind, you know, have a big month, but the moment the push ends, your system is going to need relief.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: And that relief often looks like, you know, slowing income, losing focus, spending all the money, creating chaos, right?
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: And, you know, you'll create reasons to need it.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: This is where people have things like they manifest bills or they manifest things going on because they're creating that chaos.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Not because, you know, they quote unquote blew it, but because the system is resolving the threat.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Because it thinks, well, if I can create these problems, then that person is not going to be able to push anymore.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: It's actually trying to get you to stop pushing.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: So you need to remember that money doesn't just move through your bank account, it moves through your body, through your nervous system.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Your nervous system is constantly asking, is this safe?
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Is this sustainable?
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: And is this familiar?
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: If the answer is no, your system will unconsciously create volatility, even when things are working.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: And this is funny because one of the biggest things that happen, especially to women in my world, they start making like more money than they ever have before.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: And then they hit the ceiling where they're trying to create chaos and they're like, it's calm, it's easy.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Is this allowed?
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: And we end up having to like regulate them into it's safe, it's sustainable, it's familiar.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: You don't need to create chaos.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: You don't need to create something to push against in order for the money to keep flowing.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And this is why people oscillate between big months and dry spells, right?
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: It's not a strategy failure, it's not the algorithm, it's not the economy, it's not the, you know, market.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: It's a regulation mismatch.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: If it was the economy or algorithm or market, well, then everybody would be experiencing the same thing.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: And while there is a large proportion of people who might be experiencing it, the common thing is not the market, the economy or the algorithm.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: The common thing is massive dysregulation as a, you know, as a society, as a collective.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: A lot of people are.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: But the women you see that keep expanding, that the women who are making money and building wealth when it seems like other people aren't, they don't have a secret strategy.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: They don't have a secret formula that you do not have.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: There is not some sort of secret to the algorithm.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: The secret is that they're regulated.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: So their system is not going into freak out mode.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: It's not creating chaos, it's not outsourcing power.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: It is regulated.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: So they're not oscillating this up and down.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Their nervous system is not pushing against something, it's not viewing that thing as a threat.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: So they keep growing, they keep compounding, they keep multiplying.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: This is why regulation is like key for a wealth strategy.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: If you are not regulated, you're gonna keep oscillating between up and down and up and down.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: You're gonna hit a ceiling and then you're gonna create this.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: You're not gonna be the woman who keeps compounding and keeps growing.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: And so when I say this is gonna make a million, make you a millionaire in 2026, I'm not talking about the belief.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: I'm not talking about closing your eyes and like, this is going to do this.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: I am one.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: They're just declaring it amount of times.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: And hopefully, if you declare that you are one, you know, enough times, it's going to happen.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: This is not about belief.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: This is not about mindset.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: I am talking about biology, specifically your nervous system.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: And actually, even more specifically, your amygdala, right?
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Because your amygdala is the part of your brain that decides what's safe, what's dangerous, what's familiar, and what must be corrected.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And money is processed by the nervous system, either as a threat or a safety signal, not as logic.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Even if you think, well, live more money would make me feel more safe.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: The amygdala does not care about your goals or what it perceives, it cares about what is familiar.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: So if what is familiar for you is struggle, is suffering, is pushing a boulder uphill, it's gonna create more of that.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: And if that's who you were surrounding yourself with, and this is a key I want to bring in, if you are normalizing conversations, that it's hard.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: If you are normalizing that business is hard, money is hard, algorithm is doing this, people are not buying, people are buying.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: People are spending hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars with many people.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Me, people I know, my clients, we are them.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: We know.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: So I know people are spending the money.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: So what's the difference?
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: The difference is what is familiar and what is being normalized to the nervous system.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: So if what is familiar to you is not that, right?
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: If you were having conversations with friends, colleagues, peers, and you're all normalizing, you know, this thing.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: And it's actually funny, I was having a conversation with uh a different one-on-one client last week about normalizing, right?
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: And about not playing down and not trauma bonding with other people and normalizing a lower standard that you don't desire to experience.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: I refuse, I've always refused to believe that it's hard.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: I believe that I'm the exception to the rule.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: I believe that I exist in a different frequency.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: And because I do, that's what I experience.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Because of what I normalize in the environments I put myself in, the conversations I have, I will never normalize a lower standard for you.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: And you should normalize that for yourself.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: So I want you to really audit what you've been making familiar, not what you desire, right?
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Remember, Amidaland does not care about the goals.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: And you and I, we don't set goals, we set standards, but it doesn't care about your quote unquote goals or your desires.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: It cares about what is familiar and what is safe.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: So if you're also surrounding yourself with family, friends, colleagues, you know, even what you consume on the internet, and it's all normalizing something different, or it's normalizing a lower standard, or it's normalizing struggle, or it's normalizing this, that's gonna reflect it to you.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I actually want you to take a hard look at it.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Even something as simple as your Instagram algorithm.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: My algorithm is all people who are flourishing.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: It is like golden retrievers being happy.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: It is like private jets, is literally like there's a private leg between, you know, London and Toronto.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: This much, you know, for this seats.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: It's like normalizing that.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: It is four seasons, it is RIDs, it is yachts, it is people saying like positive things about wealth, it is women leading at high levels.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm consuming, right?
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: So, because that's what's familiar to my nervous system, because those are the conversations I'm having, you know, that's what gets normalized.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: So it doesn't care about vision boards, it doesn't care about a perfectly curated, you know, Pinterest backdrop or, you know, iPhone wallpaper, it doesn't mean you can't have those things.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: I have a, you know, my wallpaper is a vision.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: And you might say, but live, is that going to normalize it?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: That's not enough to normalize it to your system.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: Simply seeing it as, you know, the background on your phone or your computer is not enough to normalize it to your system.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: If the conversations you are having all day, every day, if the way you're interacting with the world and all of that, it does not match that, right?
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Every time, you know, money increases, your nervous system, your amygdala asks one question is this safe to sustain?
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: And if the answer is no, your system will initiate correction.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: And especially we were talking just now about familiarity.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: If you start making more money than everyone around you, is that safe?
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Is it safe to be the anomaly?
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Is it safe to, you know, be holding that amount of money or experiencing those things if you feel like everyone around you isn't?
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: The answer is no, your system's gonna bring you back down.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: You're gonna lose momentum, you're gonna pull back, you're gonna create chaos, you're gonna sabotage.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Not because you're broken, but because your brain is doing its job, right?
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: So you can earn money above your nervous system's safety threshold.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: You can blip, you can do it once or a couple of times, but you won't be able to keep it there until you expand your capacity to.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: When your income rises faster than your safety perception, amygdala red flags, right?
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Red flag, it's a threat.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: You get hypervigilance, urgency pressure.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: I have to do something with this, the shoe's gonna drop.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: What if it all goes away?
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: So notice these things in your system because right now, your system is always giving you exact feedback for how it feels around money.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: And I want you to remember that when money, when income is fueled by adrenaline, right, the system never settles, the baseline never recalibrates, right?
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And the amygdala never gets safe.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: So money keeps coming in as a spike, but not as a stability.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Wealth actually requires you to be in that parasympathetic state.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: It requires you to be relaxed.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Because it's not only going to change the level with which money flows to you, but it's also going to really change your experience of money.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Because normalization isn't, you know, psychological, it's neurological.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: It's not what you keep telling yourself, it's what it believes to be true.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Money becomes normal, right?
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Wealth becomes normal when the amygdala stops firing alarms around it, when there's no urgency to act or no identity spike or no crash afterwards.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: So I want you to let this illuminate for you where you have this wealth ceiling, right?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: And it's not conscious, it's not chosen, it's learned.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: It's the level at which your system feels safe enough to stay regulated.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: And above that level, we're gonna always look for relief.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: You're gonna self-sabotage after winds, you're gonna feel uncomfortable with success, you're gonna feel confused, right?
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: This happens a lot in my world.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I don't know, I'm confused.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you don't not know, you're not confused.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: You're just the nervous system is sabotaging and losing clarity after expansion to protect you.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And this is why you cannot out-strategize when it comes to wealth.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: You can use all the perfect strategies, funnels, you know, growth tactics, whatever it is, but you cannot outpace your nervous system.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: The nervous system always wins.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: My money will always feel like something you visit, not somewhere you live until it is normalized.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: The simplest way to think about it is making money is about what you can create.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Becoming wealthy is about what your nervous system can remain regulated inside of.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: A lot of people can make money, fewer people can become wealthy.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: And it's not because they can't, as in it's not possible for them, but it's because they don't focus on the regulation work that will not only allow them to build wealth, but allow them to sustain it and do it at a faster pace.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: If money still creates intensity in your body, that is not a flaw, that is data.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: And when you train your nervous system to experience money as safe, familiar, sustainable, wealth stops becoming something you chase and it becomes like something your body knows how to live inside of.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: And that's what changes everything.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: Because you then you're no longer trading your output for your input.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: You no longer have to do to receive because wealth is no longer responding to what you do, it is responding to who you are.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: So I hope you enjoyed this episode.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Let me know how it landed for you.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: If you have not subscribed to the show yet or left a five star rating review, I would love it so that we could keep making more episodes like this.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: And I will see you in the next one.
