- 0:00Speaker 1: With Stu Gotts and Hawkman.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I mean, what a day we're going to have on
- 0:08Speaker 2: with Stu Gotts and Hawkman. You know why why I
- 0:12Speaker 2: scored two on Wordle today? What happened on wordle?
- 0:16Speaker 1: I scored two? You don't play wordle every day? No.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I play wordle when my wife gets down to like,
- 0:22Speaker 3: you know, the fourth or fifth choice and she needs
- 0:24Speaker 3: some help, and then I thunder in and I help her.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm good at world.
- 0:27Speaker 2: You can't ask people for help on wordle. That destroys
- 0:31Speaker 2: the game. I scored two this morning. Always puts me
- 0:34Speaker 2: in a good mood. I always share my scores with
- 0:38Speaker 2: Jim laer Andega former coach.
- 0:39Speaker 1: At Um of course sent him my two.
- 0:43Speaker 2: He sent me back his four, Oh wow, and wrote,
- 0:46Speaker 2: never heard of that word. You must be a genius,
- 0:50Speaker 2: And I responded.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I really am. You want to give people the word?
- 0:57Speaker 1: I mean? Oh no, that breaks. That's every I mean people.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I have to keep Crowder in line all the time
- 1:03Speaker 2: on the radio show. He does not understand a spoiler alert, right,
- 1:07Speaker 2: just does not understand.
- 1:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:09Speaker 2: He's like, heck, I can't do it, but I you know,
- 1:12Speaker 2: I've just seen the movie Spider Man.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And he just saw Spider Man. Solana just saw Spider Man.
- 1:16Speaker 2: We were talking about it, but I'm like, you gotta
- 1:18Speaker 2: be very careful here, Crowder.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You can't give away any spoilers.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Uh well, Taylor made a face like he had just
- 1:25Speaker 3: drank spoiled milk, and so like, what was that phase
- 1:29Speaker 3: for it?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Because I dare suggested we get the.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Word word stup suggesting to give away the wordle is
- 1:35Speaker 5: like one of the craziest things you've ever said.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I think you know what that is. It's I've been
- 1:40Speaker 1: saying a lot over twenty years.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's like when you tell your friends, you go, hey,
- 1:43Speaker 2: I haven't watched the Dolphins game.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm watching it on delay, so.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Don't tell me what's going on, And then everybody just
- 1:49Speaker 2: wants to pepper you with text. You know, oh wait
- 1:53Speaker 2: till you see the past Malik Willis throws in the
- 1:56Speaker 2: second quarter, You're gonna fall out of your chair.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You know. It's like, okay, we know you saw it.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Like you're like, we got it, you saw it. That's right.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You watch game late, you have to go off the grid, right,
- 2:07Speaker 2: or even if you watch a series finale like Stranger Things.
- 2:11Speaker 1: When Stranger Things came out.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I had to go off the grid until I watched
- 2:15Speaker 2: the finale because I didn't want they spoilers.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I understand that.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I highly doubt you're going to get that text about
- 2:20Speaker 3: Malik Willis from anyone this year.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I mean, well, the past could be very bad, right,
- 2:25Speaker 2: doesn't have to be very good?
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yes?
- 2:27Speaker 3: So what do you think of Spider Man? Because Taylor
- 2:30Speaker 3: correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like you want
- 2:32Speaker 3: to see it. You didn't like the movie?
- 2:33Speaker 1: Is that fair? No?
- 2:34Speaker 5: I like the movie. My only complaint with Spider Man
- 2:38Speaker 5: is there's so many universes hawk where I go in,
- 2:41Speaker 5: and it feels like I was supposed to watch ten
- 2:44Speaker 5: different movies and ten different TV shows to know who
- 2:47Speaker 5: people are. That's that's really my only complaint. Because I
- 2:51Speaker 5: love Spider Man and I love the story.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I was completely underwhelmed by this movie.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:59Speaker 2: By the end of it, I looked at Lorie and
- 3:02Speaker 2: I was like, that was it? Like what just happened here?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Unpopular opinion? I know because over the weekend I had
- 3:09Speaker 2: mentioned this on the radio show Crowder Wanted to Kill Me.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I watched Spider Man over the weekend. Yeah, and I
- 3:15Speaker 2: watched the Kevin Hart Marcello Hernandez movie seventy two hours
- 3:19Speaker 2: on Netflix. Seventy two hours A better movie than Spider Man. Wow,
- 3:24Speaker 2: And that's gross zero because it's free on Netflix. Spider
- 3:27Speaker 2: Man's gross a billion dollars. But I'm so with Taylor.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm talking about Listen, I see a movie and the
- 3:34Speaker 2: last Spider Man was like five years ago. I don't
- 3:37Speaker 2: retain anything when I tell you any like, I don't
- 3:41Speaker 2: retain anything. I'm waiting for Toby Maguire to walk out, like,
- 3:46Speaker 2: I just don't retain anything. He's not Spider Man anymore.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I'm saying on the radio show, like, I don't retain anything.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So when these characters come out and the audience is
- 3:55Speaker 2: oohing and ayeing, I have no idea who's who, And
- 4:00Speaker 2: because my son doesn't live with me anymore, I can't
- 4:03Speaker 2: lean over and say who's that, right, and so I'm
- 4:06Speaker 2: completely lost. So Solana's telling me he's like, oh, well,
- 4:09Speaker 2: before my fiance and I went to see it, we
- 4:13Speaker 2: watched the last two Spider Man's and he goes.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Then I went online and I watched a recap of What's.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And I go I gotta do fucking homework to go
- 4:23Speaker 2: watch a movie.
- 4:24Speaker 3: How about I just watched the original Spider Man, the
- 4:27Speaker 3: movie that came out before, you know.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I mean, I remember going to see Rocky two.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I didn't need this soul fucking cliff Notes version of
- 4:34Speaker 2: Rocky one.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I remembered it. First of all, the sequels used to.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Come out a year and a half later, right, and
- 4:39Speaker 2: then I go saw Rocky three.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I didn't have to.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Catch up on Rocky one and Rocky two and see
- 4:46Speaker 2: the hidden characters that were gonna be introduced or reintroduced.
- 4:50Speaker 1: In Rocky Like I went to go see the fucking movie. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 1: and now I got to do homework. I gotta study
- 4:56Speaker 1: for it, like it's the SATs.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I know.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I know you seem very angry about that. Taylor had
- 5:01Speaker 3: the benefit of having someone in the theater. I believe
- 5:03Speaker 3: this is accurate who was chatting them up. Usually you
- 5:07Speaker 3: don't like the guy chatting you up next to next
- 5:09Speaker 3: to you in the movies.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You're not supposed to talk during the movie Ranger.
- 5:12Speaker 3: But had this guy not been chatting he knows Spider
- 5:15Speaker 3: Man so well that he was actually keeping Taylor up
- 5:17Speaker 3: to speed on what was going on.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Taylor appreciated him talking during the movie about that.
- 5:22Speaker 5: So Hawk, this guy was at the movies with his girlfriend,
- 5:25Speaker 5: and his girlfriend very clearly was just along for the ride.
- 5:28Speaker 5: So every time a new character came on the screen,
- 5:31Speaker 5: he was like, she's from blank, He's.
- 5:34Speaker 1: From kind of needed that.
- 5:36Speaker 5: But everybody else in the theater was trying to shust
- 5:38Speaker 5: this guy, and I was like, wait, wait, can you
- 5:40Speaker 5: can you say that again? I didn't catch who that
- 5:43Speaker 5: person was, Just like, speak up.
- 5:45Speaker 2: That's like, just give me the backstory, let me know
- 5:48Speaker 2: what I'm looking at.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Why should I be excited about this character? Hawk?
- 5:52Speaker 5: When does the statue of limitations run up for when
- 5:55Speaker 5: you could actually talk about a movie, Because we're allowed
- 5:57Speaker 5: to talk about movies from like two thousand and five
- 6:00Speaker 5: without any spoilers. Is it like maybe a month before
- 6:02Speaker 5: we could start discussing Spider Man?
- 6:04Speaker 7: Um.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I'd probably go once it's available on streaming right, which
- 6:10Speaker 2: is probably a couple months away.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Like, I'm not even comfortable discussing the end of Sopranos yet.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Same with me when it comes to men.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Just in case, somebody came up to me at the
- 6:25Speaker 2: radio station yesterday and he says, uh, he says, you
- 6:28Speaker 2: think it's it's cool to rewatch twenty four?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Do you think it's a good rewatchable series? Ago, I
- 6:35Speaker 1: don't know. I never saw the first uh the first
- 6:37Speaker 1: go round.
- 6:39Speaker 2: He's like, you've never seen twenty four? Yeah, No, I
- 6:43Speaker 2: haven't made me feel terrible.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I mean it's a pretty basic concept, you know. I
- 6:49Speaker 3: mean key for some of THEE has twenty four hours
- 6:51Speaker 3: to save the world, and he does it every single time,
- 6:54Speaker 3: you know, at the twenty third hour, you know, I uh.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Oh, shock there. I am wearing jacket back.
- 7:05Speaker 2: If you're watching this video on YouTube, I am wearing
- 7:08Speaker 2: Sam Sneid My God.
- 7:11Speaker 1: The T shirt. I want to show this to you.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Very nice, I see it, Sam Sneid, My God. What
- 7:18Speaker 3: a beautiful shirt, gray with some you know, and.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It's got the attribution Alambardo twenty eleven. Now the T
- 7:26Speaker 2: shirt shop that my son runs for this and my
- 7:29Speaker 2: radio show is open. It's horse Muffins dot com. The
- 7:32Speaker 2: best selling shirt is hot Crowder Solana and Jimmy the
- 7:37Speaker 2: Radio Show. The second best selling shirt is Sam Sneid
- 7:41Speaker 2: My God.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Excellent.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So and I got a bunch of requests when the
- 7:47Speaker 2: last pod, I think we had asked people to suggest
- 7:50Speaker 2: what T shirts they wanted. I got four different suggestions
- 7:54Speaker 2: to bring back the I'm a Violent Sneezer T shirt,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and so that will probably be up on the store
- 8:01Speaker 2: by the time this podcast releases, but I just bring
- 8:04Speaker 2: it up at the beginning to say I'm wearing my
- 8:06Speaker 2: Sam Snead my God shirt. I got a long sleeve.
- 8:11Speaker 2: The shirts are up, They're fun. There's always seven to
- 8:15Speaker 2: ninety the ticket logo. There's Mark Hackman Sports Comic Tour shirt.
- 8:20Speaker 2: There's the U with Stugatson Hawkman pod shirt. There's a
- 8:24Speaker 2: whole bunch of stuff. There'll be I'm a Violent Sneezer
- 8:27Speaker 2: up there, and it's all at horse muffins dot com.
- 8:30Speaker 2: One hundred percent of the sales goes to my son,
- 8:32Speaker 2: who just graduated college and he's working on his uh
- 8:35Speaker 2: graphic design stuff.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You'll see it all on the website.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And I implore you again, if you enjoy this podcast
- 8:41Speaker 2: and the free content that we're giving you on it,
- 8:43Speaker 2: go buy a shirt from him at horse muffins dot com.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I mean, tell your son if he's selling stuff on
- 8:49Speaker 3: that site with my name on it, my image, my
- 8:52Speaker 3: likeness is a lawyer up.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I mean got all of it, got your name, image, likeness,
- 8:57Speaker 2: got everything. So go to the website and buy something
- 9:02Speaker 2: that's Horsemuffins dot com. I wanted to read a couple
- 9:05Speaker 2: of dms that I've gotten on Instagram. I always tell
- 9:10Speaker 2: people just DM me Radio Mark Hakman on Instagram and
- 9:13Speaker 2: I'll try to respond. This one I've gotten throughout our careers.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I'm sure you have as well. This one really moved me.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Hak.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I started listening from a guy named Neil hak I
- 9:24Speaker 2: started listening and watching LeBatard Show in twenty fifteen. So,
- 9:27Speaker 2: like others who have arrived at the with stugottson Hawkman Pod,
- 9:32Speaker 2: never knew how much of an imprint you had on
- 9:34Speaker 2: the show to this day. I really stopped listening to
- 9:37Speaker 2: DLS a few years ago, around the time my dad
- 9:39Speaker 2: suddenly passed away, and I've been in a rut ever since.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I periodically would catch an episode of DLS here and
- 9:46Speaker 2: there and Stupodity, and then happened upon with stugottson Hawkman
- 9:50Speaker 2: the podcast in January, and it was the Luduca has
- 9:54Speaker 2: the heart of a maddingly episode.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's a great line, just that line. It's great.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yes, I hadn't laughed that hard at a podcast in years,
- 10:03Speaker 2: Smiling ear to ear and cracking up on a treadmill.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I genuinely had never heard you on the air before,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and I had never heard you on the air before,
- 10:12Speaker 2: and just your voice, cadence and chemistry with Stu Gotts
- 10:16Speaker 2: had unlocked a joy and humor that I hadn't felt
- 10:19Speaker 2: since my dad passed.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Can you find where this continues?
- 10:28Speaker 2: He was the funniest guy I knew, and he would
- 10:31Speaker 2: have loved these crazy throwbacks you and Stugots are giving us,
- 10:34Speaker 2: which has helped me heal in some ways. So I
- 10:37Speaker 2: went back and listened to every episode of the pod
- 10:40Speaker 2: since October, cutting the grass and YouTube episodes as well.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Just delightfully done.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I spent a Saturday morning in soaking rain, power washing
- 10:51Speaker 2: my house and listening to three straight hours of the
- 10:53Speaker 2: pod to get caught up, and finally have gotten caught
- 10:57Speaker 2: up a few months back. Fake Stevegal, My god, the
- 11:02Speaker 2: hardest I've laughed in forever. I loved watching Segall as
- 11:06Speaker 2: a kid with my dad and he would have lost
- 11:09Speaker 2: it at your impression. Thank you so much for giving
- 11:12Speaker 2: fans your gift of this pod with Stugatt's I can
- 11:15Speaker 2: tell it has brought back some nostalgia and such a
- 11:17Speaker 2: great laugh for those that weren't even round in the
- 11:21Speaker 2: show twenty years ago. But it feels like we all
- 11:24Speaker 2: were now and that's the essence of the show and
- 11:27Speaker 2: what makes it what it was. Ordering my Sam Snead
- 11:30Speaker 2: my God shirt soon, Neil, well really nice.
- 11:35Speaker 1: DM.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm happy for you because there's so many people
- 11:39Speaker 3: who started listening after you left who didn't realize the
- 11:42Speaker 3: imprint that you had I continue to have on the show.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You could still hear it till this day, and so.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I'm glad that people are being introduced to you that
- 11:51Speaker 3: you know previously weren't aware that you had such a
- 11:54Speaker 3: big imprint on the show. And by the way, I
- 11:56Speaker 3: just want to throw this in. I also listened to
- 11:58Speaker 3: our episodes cleaning the House.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I actually listened to a couple of episodes while I
- 12:06Speaker 2: was watching Spider Man.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I was so disinterested.
- 12:09Speaker 2: You wouldn't have rather been power cleaning your house than
- 12:12Speaker 2: watching Spider Man. I uh yeah, I get a kick.
- 12:16Speaker 2: You know, I have two radio careers. There are many
- 12:19Speaker 2: people who know me as the host of Hawkman and
- 12:21Speaker 2: Crowder and that's it. They don't realize that. I was
- 12:24Speaker 2: part of the Levatard Show for almost ten years, and
- 12:27Speaker 2: I always equate it to like there were people who
- 12:30Speaker 2: knew Mike Ditka as the Bears coach, and that's it.
- 12:33Speaker 2: They didn't know he was a tight end in the NFL.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Correct, you know what I mean?
- 12:36Speaker 2: There's people who know Pat Riley as a team president, right,
- 12:41Speaker 2: they don't know him as the floor general with the Lakers.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yes, there are people who know Michael Jordan as a
- 12:46Speaker 3: dominant NASCAR owner.
- 12:48Speaker 2: They don't realize he's the greatest basketball player to ever live.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I meant that I think everyone knows that.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That is a terrible example. No one, there's no one
- 12:56Speaker 1: who doesn't know that. I know somebody DM, Let's see
- 13:00Speaker 1: if I can find this. There's nobody.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Just wanted to say thanks, because there are people, I
- 13:10Speaker 2: think who don't realize what dominant forces Charles Barkley Like.
- 13:15Speaker 1: They watch him on TNT or ESPN.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Now, they don't realize what a dominant force he was
- 13:20Speaker 2: on the basketball court. I mean they probably know, but Barkley, like,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I don't think they realized just how dominant he was.
- 13:28Speaker 1: They know him as a funny broadcaster.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they know him as a broadcaster. He's a Hall
- 13:32Speaker 3: of Fame broadcaster.
- 13:34Speaker 2: They do not realize that he was one of the
- 13:36Speaker 2: top twenty five NBA players to ever play basketball. Yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 2: I mean, and so if they don't realize that about him,
- 13:42Speaker 2: imagine what they came when they're watching Kenny Smith, you know, right.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Right, but they don't even know anything about him. Correct. Yes,
- 13:50Speaker 1: some many dms.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Was just on vacation and the bacon at our resort
- 13:56Speaker 2: was perfect, extra crispy. Thanks for the work you do
- 13:59Speaker 2: with stupid. It's filled a huge gap. I was recently
- 14:02Speaker 2: laughing out loud on a plane listening to the song's episode.
- 14:06Speaker 2: People thought I was insane. I came to the show
- 14:09Speaker 2: post your time, but love what you guys do. I
- 14:13Speaker 2: smile every time I see an episode pop up Andrew
- 14:16Speaker 2: from Chicago, awesome, Thank you Andrew. Yes, and that brings
- 14:21Speaker 2: me to today's clips. Somebody dms me on Instagram. Hey Hawk,
- 14:27Speaker 2: I'm sure you get a ton of dms, so this
- 14:28Speaker 2: one may have fallen through the cracks, so I'm going
- 14:30Speaker 2: to reach out again. It must have because I just
- 14:32Speaker 2: saw it. Of all the many fakes that were on
- 14:36Speaker 2: the show. One of my all time favorites was Fake Howard.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I'd love to hear a bunch of Fake Howard clips.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I vaguely recall a moment when Fake Howard talked to
- 14:46Speaker 2: the real Howard. I've got a fresh pipe and Beverly
- 14:50Speaker 2: and I will continue to enjoy the program. Very well written, DM.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I am having love lunch today with Fake Howard. Wow
- 15:03Speaker 2: wow wow. Yeah, what a special day for you. Three
- 15:08Speaker 2: times a week for crying out loud. But we're we're
- 15:11Speaker 2: going also with j Keller five for those really who
- 15:14Speaker 2: are part of Heat Nation on Twitter. He's one of
- 15:17Speaker 2: those annoying heat tweeters, J Keller five.
- 15:20Speaker 1: You know Keller.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Of course, of course we're going to Little Reds on
- 15:25Speaker 2: State Road eighty four and we'll go to Little Reds.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It's it's on the other side of the street where
- 15:31Speaker 2: Runway eighty four is.
- 15:33Speaker 1: No so I've seen it. I have ever been.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I go to Runway eighty four often, so I
- 15:39Speaker 3: haven't I've seen it.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I've never gotten there. Is it good?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's great, Like Fake Howard's been going there for years,
- 15:46Speaker 2: you know, grew up down here and it's like a
- 15:48Speaker 2: truck stop.
- 15:48Speaker 1: But it's just like barbecue all that stuff.
- 15:51Speaker 2: What do you think, Like, what do you get when
- 15:53Speaker 2: you go there? Depends because I know you're thinking about.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Your lunch already.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I know I really we eat, We eat very healthy lately.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So I'll probably get a grilled chicken breast, no bread,
- 16:07Speaker 2: no bun, and maybe splash a little barbecue sauce on it,
- 16:11Speaker 2: and maybe I will get some green beans.
- 16:13Speaker 1: That's about what a waste of a trip to a barn.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Now, I know Coward is gonna get the wings, and
- 16:20Speaker 2: I mean he's gonna garbage in, get a slab. I
- 16:25Speaker 2: can't eat a slaber, Ribs and d a radio show.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It's what amazes me with because you know my show
- 16:30Speaker 2: doesn't go on till two o'clock. Crowder comes in. He's
- 16:34Speaker 2: flemy like you, and so I always go, man like,
- 16:38Speaker 2: why are you so flemy today?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Oh? I had fetchini alfredo for lunch? Oh? Why not?
- 16:43Speaker 2: Because you had fucking fetacini elfredo for lunch?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Like a little like.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Who could eat fetichini alfredo for lunch?
- 16:57Speaker 1: Like it shouldn't even be served at lunch.
- 17:00Speaker 2: You should immediately luot on a terrorist watch list if
- 17:03Speaker 2: you're ordering Feticini Alfredo at lunch. I have another take
- 17:10Speaker 2: to that drives people crazy because a Rendez gadst in
- 17:14Speaker 2: jos Chapel Crowder. They'll go sometimes for lunch to you know,
- 17:21Speaker 2: like Saito or Benny Hannah, Sure for the actual hibachi,
- 17:27Speaker 2: and I'm like, it's a show, like you're doing that.
- 17:31Speaker 1: At lunch right, way too heavy. I go.
- 17:34Speaker 2: If you out rice and chicken for lunch, go to Pyotropical,
- 17:39Speaker 2: go to Chicken Kitchen. You're doing the whole fucking hibachi
- 17:44Speaker 2: shebang at lunch.
- 17:47Speaker 1: What kind of society is this?
- 17:50Speaker 3: Listen, you're one thousand percent correct. Hey, it's not food
- 17:52Speaker 3: you should be eating at twelve or twelve thirty.
- 17:54Speaker 1: It's a lot. It's too much food. And I gotta
- 17:56Speaker 1: be honest with you.
- 17:57Speaker 2: It takes me till at least like three in the
- 17:59Speaker 2: afternoon till I'm ready to have some random guy.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Just throw a shrimp into my shirt, you know, my
- 18:03Speaker 1: shirt pocket.
- 18:04Speaker 2: It's not it's not like entertaining when you have other
- 18:06Speaker 2: stuff to do during the day. You know, when your day,
- 18:09Speaker 2: all your tasks are done, your work is done, and
- 18:13Speaker 2: you want to see an onion volcano. I'll sign up
- 18:16Speaker 2: with the rest of them. I love the onion volcano. Yes, yes,
- 18:19Speaker 2: But noon, I've got things on my mind. Things I've
- 18:23Speaker 2: got to accomplish that day, Errands to run. I gotta
- 18:26Speaker 2: watch some guy make an onion volca Hey, give me
- 18:29Speaker 2: the give me the vegetables, give me the rice.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Let's go move it along here, no way to enjoy
- 18:34Speaker 1: the show. I totally agree with you. Ridiculously, here we go.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Bet they could do it, they can handle it. We
- 18:40Speaker 3: can't anymore. Yes, yeah, we used to be that way.
- 18:44Speaker 8: For the show.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Rondai's like my age. Crowder is in his mid forties.
- 18:48Speaker 2: What are we doing here? I do a lot of
- 18:51Speaker 2: options to get rice and chicken, which is essentially what
- 18:54Speaker 2: the habati is.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Right? Why are you blurring everyone rice in chicken?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Well, I'm just saying, if you're in the mood for hibachi,
- 19:02Speaker 2: you want rice and chicken, ok, you go to poyotropic kale,
- 19:05Speaker 2: you get a tropa chops?
- 19:07Speaker 1: Was it eight ninety nine? No show? It probably isn't
- 19:11Speaker 1: even right. But it's lunch. Yes, very angry about this
- 19:18Speaker 1: makes me crazy?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Feta genial fredo for lunch. What's going on here? You're
- 19:24Speaker 2: trying to get to my six hundred pound life. Anyway,
- 19:29Speaker 2: here is so the guy wanted Fake Howard. I'm going
- 19:31Speaker 2: to lunch with Fake Howard and Taylor. If you can
- 19:34Speaker 2: delay posting this podcast till I've been at lunch with
- 19:37Speaker 2: fake Howard, I will send you some video. Fake Howard
- 19:43Speaker 2: on my radio show is known as the ticket Wizard.
- 19:45Speaker 2: He's the ticket Wizard. But on the Levatard Show, he
- 19:47Speaker 2: was Fake Howard. He was a bunch of other fakes
- 19:49Speaker 2: as well, which I'm going to get to in subsequent episodes.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Do you remember some of the other fakes Fake Howard was,
- 19:55Speaker 2: I don't I have to be honest with you.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yes, Fake Dusty Rhodes, Oh that's right, Yeah, Fake Frank
- 20:01Speaker 1: de Ford.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Oh you know what I would say, probably after fake Howard,
- 20:06Speaker 2: that's his uh, that's his second best limited or best fake.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I guess, I mean very niche. Those very niche.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Taylor is currently looking up who Frank to Ford is.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I mean, I inexplicably had this conversation with Crowder and
- 20:22Speaker 2: Solana the other day on the radio and I said,
- 20:24Speaker 2: do any of you guys know who Frank to Ford is?
- 20:27Speaker 2: And I think one of them guessed he's the guy
- 20:30Speaker 2: who plays Bruce Banner in The Hulk.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Uh nailed it.
- 20:38Speaker 2: But anyway, I'll get some video of Fake Howard at
- 20:41Speaker 2: lunch and we can tack it on at the end
- 20:43Speaker 2: of this podcast.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So if you watch it on.
- 20:45Speaker 2: YouTube, you'll see the video, and if you're listening to
- 20:47Speaker 2: it on iHeart or Apple Podcasts or whatever, you'll hear
- 20:51Speaker 2: the audio of fake Howard just a little Hey, what
- 20:53Speaker 2: are you up to nowadays?
- 20:55Speaker 1: Just to give the listeners some context.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Fake Howard is a friend of yours, going all the
- 20:59Speaker 3: way back to m to college, my.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Freshman roommate at Pearson, which just got torn down at
- 21:06Speaker 2: the University of Miami Pearson Mahoney dorms got torn down.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Sad day, Yeah, sad day.
- 21:13Speaker 3: You Fake Howard, Keller Lebitzard. You guys were all friends
- 21:16Speaker 3: at UM in college. That's why Keller, how'd you come
- 21:19Speaker 3: produce the show?
- 21:20Speaker 1: Keller did not go to UM.
- 21:22Speaker 2: We met him through Fake Howard, okay, but me Dan Barry,
- 21:27Speaker 2: who is fake Howard. We were in the communications school
- 21:31Speaker 2: at University of Miami.
- 21:32Speaker 1: We've all became friendly.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Jim Fravola, who might be the new athletic director at
- 21:36Speaker 2: University of Miami, he was in the communications school with us.
- 21:40Speaker 1: That's how we all got to know each other.
- 21:41Speaker 2: You're up breaking news, You're just saying you have no
- 21:43Speaker 2: inside information.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I know his name is.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Up for the job, and we've been lobbying for him.
- 21:48Speaker 2: That's as far as my efforts go. Here is what
- 21:53Speaker 2: that listener referenced in the direct message. This is fake
- 21:58Speaker 2: Howard on the line while you and Dan are interviewing
- 22:02Speaker 2: the real Howard Schanellenberger.
- 22:05Speaker 9: Fake Howard, I want you to explain to me how
- 22:07Speaker 9: the family is going to be at the game on Saturday.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Fake Howard.
- 22:11Speaker 10: Well, I'm certain that Beverly and the kids and the
- 22:13Speaker 10: grandkids will certainly be at the stadium root me on
- 22:16Speaker 10: as they always are, and just want to see a fine,
- 22:18Speaker 10: fine football.
- 22:21Speaker 9: I think the real Howard is moretified at this point.
- 22:24Speaker 9: So what do you give it? After everything you've heard there?
- 22:26Speaker 9: The real Howard, how do you feel?
- 22:28Speaker 6: Well?
- 22:28Speaker 1: I feel like anybody that thinks that sounds like me
- 22:30Speaker 1: shouldn't come to the game. We're pushing away fans.
- 22:34Speaker 9: Well, we're going to try now, because go ahead.
- 22:36Speaker 8: I'm sorry.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Who wants to speak up there?
- 22:38Speaker 9: The fake Howard of the room, Yes, Hello, do we
- 22:45Speaker 9: lose the real Howard or is the faith Are they
- 22:47Speaker 9: still there?
- 22:48Speaker 4: No, I'm sure here the call I had to take.
- 22:50Speaker 10: And that's funny because I too have a group. I'm
- 22:54Speaker 10: not quite sure why the phone would be ringing. Clearly
- 22:57Speaker 10: people know to Blucke at my time when I'm come
- 22:59Speaker 10: on your program, Dan, he's lost it.
- 23:05Speaker 2: It really is maybe my favorite fake Howard clip ever,
- 23:08Speaker 2: because real Howard, like you know he's doing it. He's
- 23:10Speaker 2: a busy football coach. He was older at that time
- 23:13Speaker 2: already anyway, I think he was the FAU coach and
- 23:15Speaker 2: he uh he like he's just busy. He's on the radio,
- 23:18Speaker 2: but he's got going stuff going hello Hello, And then
- 23:20Speaker 2: Barry's just jumping in, Hello, Hello, I.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Do have a call.
- 23:25Speaker 3: We should explain to Barry because the timing and the
- 23:27Speaker 3: way he you know, he's very quick the timing. But
- 23:30Speaker 3: Barry has a great sense of humor. He's a very
- 23:33Speaker 3: tense guy. Yes, and and his I.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Don't know if you've ever heard the fake Howard Taylor,
- 23:38Speaker 2: it is spot on, Like that is one of the
- 23:41Speaker 2: best impersonations you'll ever hear.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Yeah, like like a lot of the confusion in that past,
- 23:46Speaker 5: in that last call.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I couldn't tell who was who.
- 23:48Speaker 2: It's amazing, right, it was uncanny, but just him on
- 23:52Speaker 2: his feet.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I too have a call, right, but.
- 23:54Speaker 2: The way, like the way that he said it right
- 23:56Speaker 2: is exactly the way that you would expect Howard to
- 23:59Speaker 2: say it. That is interesting, I too have a call.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Here's a clip of fake Howard. He would never break character.
- 24:08Speaker 2: He would always be Howard Schnellenberger or Howard schnellen Fraud,
- 24:11Speaker 2: as we used to call him on the show. But
- 24:14Speaker 2: this time because he was he was using a sexual connotation.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Fake Howard actually lost it, much to Dan's delight.
- 24:26Speaker 1: What does that mean? Howard schnell and fraud?
- 24:28Speaker 9: What is working?
- 24:29Speaker 1: Blue mean?
- 24:30Speaker 4: Well, Beverly is not afraid to loosen up.
- 24:42Speaker 1: And then he fled.
- 24:47Speaker 4: If you know, damn, that's not what I meant to say,
- 24:49Speaker 4: but it is, but it came out. I know that
- 24:57Speaker 4: it cuts to you when I go out of the character,
- 24:59Speaker 4: and it's unusual.
- 25:08Speaker 2: There's there's I have. I have probably four hundred fake
- 25:13Speaker 2: Howard clips. I'm not gonna obviously play them all here,
- 25:16Speaker 2: and I can do another episode that the fake Howard
- 25:19Speaker 2: real Howard. The fake Howard loses it. Two of my
- 25:21Speaker 2: favorite clips. Another one which I'm not going to play
- 25:24Speaker 2: this time. I'll save it for another episode is when
- 25:26Speaker 2: fake Howard gives his list of recruits for FAU.
- 25:31Speaker 1: And that's the one that stands out to me the most. Yes,
- 25:34Speaker 1: it literally is. It's just such a well crafted bit.
- 25:38Speaker 2: We had written it in advance for a long time,
- 25:41Speaker 2: but because it was FAU and there was no nil
- 25:44Speaker 2: back then or whatever, you really had the bottom of
- 25:46Speaker 2: the barrel. And so he's going over his list of
- 25:49Speaker 2: recruitsment Dan and it's like lazy Eye Johnson. And then
- 25:54Speaker 2: I mean, just I won't give it all away, but
- 25:55Speaker 2: that's a really good one, which we'll get to in
- 25:57Speaker 2: a future episode.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Going back to that last clip that we played where
- 26:01Speaker 3: he falls out of character, it is so rare to
- 26:05Speaker 3: get real, genuine, guttural laughter at a LeBatard.
- 26:08Speaker 8: Yes, like it is.
- 26:09Speaker 3: He'll laugh and he enjoyed the show and he's got
- 26:11Speaker 3: a good sense of humor, and we all laughed together.
- 26:14Speaker 3: But to hear Dan laugh like that in a way
- 26:17Speaker 3: that was genuine Dan broke out of character.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Character.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Yes, but Dan always really appreciated Barry's Howard Schnellenberger of course,
- 26:28Speaker 2: and appreciated the fact that no matter what Dan would
- 26:31Speaker 2: throw at him, he would stay in character and he'd
- 26:34Speaker 2: have a quick answer, and it was difficult. You'll actually
- 26:37Speaker 2: hear something later on where Fake Howard visits the studio
- 26:41Speaker 2: and it's a little nerve wracking because we haven't prepared
- 26:44Speaker 2: anything advanced.
- 26:45Speaker 1: You don't know what Dan's gonna ask him.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It was much like when Caliendo used to be on
- 26:48Speaker 2: the phone and then Dan would just say say something
- 26:51Speaker 2: funny like, Okay, that's kind of not the lead in
- 26:55Speaker 2: that I was looking for something. I don't know where
- 26:59Speaker 2: these guys were. We sent fake Howard to. May have
- 27:04Speaker 2: been an autographed collectibles show, may have been an event
- 27:08Speaker 2: for the NFL, but we sent him somewhere with a
- 27:11Speaker 2: recorder to interview legendary football players as Fake Howard.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Now, I don't know if this got played more than
- 27:20Speaker 2: once on the air. It was delightful for us, but
- 27:23Speaker 2: I thought for the podcast would be fun to listen
- 27:25Speaker 2: to something that maybe people hadn't.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Heard in a long time.
- 27:27Speaker 2: So this is fake Howard interviewing legendary running back Gail Sayers.
- 27:33Speaker 8: This is Howard Schnellen fraud. I'm here with the great
- 27:35Speaker 8: Gail Sayers, and mister says, I'm not sure if you're
- 27:38Speaker 8: familiar with the fact that I invented the waggle play.
- 27:40Speaker 8: The waggle play. Yes, that's a play. I'm sure you're
- 27:43Speaker 8: intimately familiar with. No, I'm not perhaps a bootleg You
- 27:46Speaker 8: familiar with the bootleg play. I've heard of that play,
- 27:48Speaker 8: but I didn't know that you invented it. Mister says.
- 27:51Speaker 8: You're in the Hall of Fame, of course, and one
- 27:53Speaker 8: of my lifelong dreams has been to be in the
- 27:54Speaker 8: Hall of Fame. I was wondering if you heard any
- 27:56Speaker 8: rumblings that Howard Chill and Fraud could get into the
- 27:59Speaker 8: Hall of Fame. I thank you in trouble well, I
- 28:01Speaker 8: don't like the sound of that. Okay, thank you, Gil
- 28:03Speaker 8: Sayirs for being on our program.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I didn't want to set the scene here for a second,
- 28:09Speaker 2: because this is i'm gonna guess, like two thousand and
- 28:13Speaker 2: seven or so.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yes, and.
- 28:16Speaker 2: There is no video component for the radio show like
- 28:19Speaker 2: there is now. There's no producers other than me and
- 28:24Speaker 2: Mike Ryan, right, there's no kind of ancillary staff. This
- 28:31Speaker 2: is literally us telling Barry take this tape recorder was
- 28:36Speaker 2: probably a digital audio tape recorder a DAT machine, right,
- 28:40Speaker 2: take this DAT machine to this event, walk around, tell
- 28:45Speaker 2: them your fake Howard and interview them. There is nobody
- 28:50Speaker 2: following them with a video camera. There's no producer helping him.
- 28:53Speaker 2: It is Barry, who's an attorney. By the way, Yes,
- 28:56Speaker 2: it's his profession.
- 28:58Speaker 1: It is to be getting people out of tickets.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Very walking around with a tape recorder, going to some
- 29:05Speaker 2: of the biggest names in NFL history, interviewing them for
- 29:09Speaker 2: our pleasure, with no support around him whatsoever.
- 29:13Speaker 1: That's a game.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Not getting paid to do it, that's right, not getting
- 29:16Speaker 3: paid to do it. The key to the impersonation is
- 29:18Speaker 3: and you'll notice he stresses certain words.
- 29:20Speaker 2: There's a reason he chooses certain words. Ye, bootleg os
- 29:26Speaker 2: os are always something that had a great proble device.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Here he is with Jason Taylor.
- 29:34Speaker 8: This is Howard schillen Freud, also known as Fake Howard.
- 29:37Speaker 8: I'm here with a great Jason Taylor of the Miami Dolphins. Jason,
- 29:40Speaker 8: I understand you've done something to your foot. The planter feesia.
- 29:43Speaker 8: What is that?
- 29:44Speaker 6: It's called a planter fascia, first of all, and it's
- 29:46Speaker 6: a I don't even know what the hell it is.
- 29:49Speaker 6: It's a band of tissue or something, the bottom of
- 29:50Speaker 6: your foot that I tore. But uh, don't worry, coach,
- 29:53Speaker 6: I'm still playing. I'm tough, but.
- 29:55Speaker 8: That's what we like. We like old school tough guys,
- 29:57Speaker 8: and you're one of those, you know. Let me just
- 29:59Speaker 8: say too that the only reason Beverly watches football is
- 30:02Speaker 8: because she thinks you're so damn good looking. And you're
- 30:04Speaker 8: cutting into my personal time, if you know what I mean.
- 30:07Speaker 6: Do you get that a lot, not not from Beverly,
- 30:10Speaker 6: from you, but I do tend to get it from
- 30:12Speaker 6: time to time. But I don't not looking to take
- 30:14Speaker 6: away from anybody's personal time. But you tell Beverly she's
- 30:17Speaker 6: walking to come see us anytime on the sideline.
- 30:19Speaker 8: I'll get her passes. Do you think we should bring
- 30:21Speaker 8: back the leather helmet? Do you think the helmet is
- 30:22Speaker 8: obstructing your face?
- 30:24Speaker 6: No, there's a reason why us guys look so good nowadays,
- 30:27Speaker 6: as we protect ourselves.
- 30:29Speaker 8: Those old players.
- 30:30Speaker 6: Look like crap for a reason.
- 30:31Speaker 8: Yeah, so we head on that Gale saiers earlier, let
- 30:33Speaker 8: me ask you a question. Do you smoke a punk?
- 30:36Speaker 8: I don't. No, smoking is bad for you. I understand
- 30:40Speaker 8: you've done something to your shoulder. I'm here to warn
- 30:42Speaker 8: you when you turn that wheel. I understand it's a
- 30:44Speaker 8: very hard wheel. I don't want you to hurt the
- 30:45Speaker 8: other shoulder.
- 30:46Speaker 6: Yeah, the Wiell is very heavy and I was made
- 30:48Speaker 6: aware of that, and uh, we'll improvise. I'll use my
- 30:51Speaker 6: other arm.
- 30:52Speaker 8: As you know Jason from being a friend, Fake Harrod
- 30:55Speaker 8: does like to listen to the hip hop from time
- 30:56Speaker 8: to time? Are you a fan of a hip hop?
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yes?
- 30:58Speaker 1: I'm a hip hop fan.
- 31:00Speaker 8: Song by Twill Gage that I'm not sure you're familiar with.
- 31:02Speaker 8: It's one of my personal favorites called donkey Butt and
- 31:05Speaker 8: it goes something like this, let me add that dunkey don'
- 31:08Speaker 8: ke let me rede that dunk. Don'tk are you fling it?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:12Speaker 6: That's a very old school hip hop song. It's a
- 31:15Speaker 6: good one though, if you're uh, if you're over eighty, well.
- 31:18Speaker 8: For me, an old school hip hop is the sugar
- 31:20Speaker 8: Hill Gang.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You've know where that.
- 31:21Speaker 8: Sugar Hill Gang is great. There they're great. So I'll
- 31:23Speaker 8: say what old school that would be? The hip the
- 31:25Speaker 8: hop the Hibbot to the Hibbitty hip hip ho hop,
- 31:28Speaker 8: Old stop there you go. Well, we're gonna keep going,
- 31:31Speaker 8: but uh, we're running at of time with you, Jason.
- 31:33Speaker 8: I appreciate you coming on the program.
- 31:37Speaker 1: You know how quick that is by fake Howard.
- 31:39Speaker 2: It's so good, Like his responses are just quick, like
- 31:44Speaker 2: he had he really had a get when he would
- 31:46Speaker 2: get in the character. Yeah, he really became Howard Janellenberger
- 31:50Speaker 2: with even there.
- 31:50Speaker 1: He stayed in character even there during.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That we had you can you can tell what happened
- 31:57Speaker 2: is before he goes to this event. We're telling him
- 32:00Speaker 2: because we were fascinated with that song donkey Butt from
- 32:03Speaker 2: twelve Gauge.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I'm certain we said to him, hey, work in twelve.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Gauge if you can, you know, ask him obviously about
- 32:10Speaker 2: the waggle play because we like when he talks about
- 32:12Speaker 2: the waggle play.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And yeah, he did everything funny. One of the lines
- 32:16Speaker 1: I love there is you're a fan of the hip hop?
- 32:19Speaker 3: Hip hop By the way, Jason Taylor was a friend
- 32:24Speaker 3: of the show. Jason Taylor did a weekly show with us,
- 32:28Speaker 3: and that was one of the cool things for all
- 32:30Speaker 3: of us as our show started cranking up, is we
- 32:33Speaker 3: realize guys like Wade and Jason Taylor they were enjoying
- 32:37Speaker 3: the show, and so you could tell Jason Taylor was
- 32:39Speaker 3: laughing there. He was laughing along with fake Hoart. He
- 32:42Speaker 3: was familiar with Fake Howard work.
- 32:44Speaker 1: He was delighted that he was doing a bit with
- 32:46Speaker 1: Fake Howard.
- 32:47Speaker 2: That was cool, honored right. Here's I mentioned this earlier.
- 32:51Speaker 2: So Fake Howard had to stop by the studio. Barry
- 32:55Speaker 2: the attorney had to stop by the studio, probably to
- 32:57Speaker 2: give Dan or get a ticket from Dan, you know,
- 33:03Speaker 2: or Dan's dad got a ticket, like, you know.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Barry would take care of all these tickets.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Whenever he did that, Hockey would take the keys to
- 33:09Speaker 3: my car. He would go into my glove compartment because
- 33:12Speaker 3: he was convinced they're just just loose tickets hanging around
- 33:16Speaker 3: and he would always find one or two and he
- 33:17Speaker 3: would take to you before.
- 33:19Speaker 1: You got in trouble.
- 33:21Speaker 2: So he had to stop by the studio and he'd
- 33:23Speaker 2: walk in and he'd be on my side of the studio,
- 33:24Speaker 2: my side of the glass, and Dan would see him
- 33:26Speaker 2: and he'd be like, oh, you know, like weave him
- 33:28Speaker 2: back or whatever. So here he is entering, He's just
- 33:31Speaker 2: back there chit chatting with me, and Dan's like, oh,
- 33:34Speaker 2: Fake Howard's gonna join us in studio, And we didn't
- 33:37Speaker 2: plan anything out, so it could have gone many ways,
- 33:39Speaker 2: but it actually worked pretty well.
- 33:41Speaker 9: This is very exciting stud Gott's fake Howard Schnellen fraud
- 33:44Speaker 9: in studio. We're gonna spin the fake gass wheel in
- 33:48Speaker 9: a second here. Eight eight eight seven nine oh three
- 33:50Speaker 9: seven seven six is the number. If you want to
- 33:52Speaker 9: win an assortment of prizes or just show sounds, you
- 33:55Speaker 9: can win two tickets to our Live Free or Die
- 33:57Speaker 9: Hard movie screening. Fake Howard Shanelon fraud will be there
- 34:01Speaker 9: for that. Stu Gotts.
- 34:02Speaker 8: Is he excited?
- 34:03Speaker 9: I don't know whether he's excited or not. You can
- 34:04Speaker 9: ask him yourself, but he's gonna be there. Maybe we'll
- 34:08Speaker 9: tell people who he is. But we were thinking at
- 34:10Speaker 9: the Rocky Balboa premiere that what we were gonna end
- 34:12Speaker 9: up doing is saying, ladies and gentlemen, there's fake Howard,
- 34:14Speaker 9: and everybody would turn around and look at no, no,
- 34:16Speaker 9: there's fake Howard, and just have various people stand up
- 34:20Speaker 9: because nobody knows what fake Howard Schanelin fraud looks like.
- 34:22Speaker 1: So fake Howard.
- 34:23Speaker 9: We were talking about Asia posters framing Asia posters, things
- 34:26Speaker 9: you're embarrassed to have framed, and aren't you curious? Dugotts
- 34:30Speaker 9: what fake Howard's house looks like?
- 34:32Speaker 1: What he might have.
- 34:33Speaker 9: Framed or I imagine Beverly did most of the framing.
- 34:36Speaker 8: Of course Beverly is in charge of old decorating. But
- 34:39Speaker 8: there's a room of mine that of course his hands off.
- 34:42Speaker 8: I have the football that Kenny cal Hun batted down,
- 34:45Speaker 8: and right, things that I'm proud of, and of course,
- 34:48Speaker 8: in keeping in the theme of the show, there are
- 34:50Speaker 8: certainly things I'm not proud of. And one of those
- 34:52Speaker 8: things would be a framed poster of the USFL Washington Generals. Right,
- 34:58Speaker 8: that would not have been one of my wife decisions?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Right?
- 35:01Speaker 9: Was that just you standing in front of like a
- 35:02Speaker 9: corvette or something, or a hor Were you on a
- 35:04Speaker 9: horse dressed like a general?
- 35:05Speaker 1: Or what's what's that poster look like?
- 35:07Speaker 8: Oh it's it's ugly. It's got a lot of red,
- 35:09Speaker 8: white and blue and some fighter jets in the background,
- 35:12Speaker 8: and then me it's I think Top Gun was a
- 35:14Speaker 8: big hit of New Game. They were trying to capitalize
- 35:18Speaker 8: on that.
- 35:18Speaker 9: And so was your who's your sidekick? Who was the
- 35:21Speaker 9: top Gun? Wait with Goose, the guy opposite Tom Cruise
- 35:25Speaker 9: and top gun.
- 35:26Speaker 1: No I fly, Oh yes you do, Yeah, Beverly, only Beverly.
- 35:32Speaker 9: We just got the gun slingers from Pink hours Stelling Fark.
- 35:35Speaker 8: Who knew that he.
- 35:36Speaker 9: Could do the fingers as gunslingers. Three two pitch here
- 35:39Speaker 9: to handler mirrors. They got a runner on second, the Marlins.
- 35:42Speaker 9: He's the tying run handler.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Merrick Bend's the game, and now there's another one, and
- 35:48Speaker 2: now there's.
- 35:49Speaker 1: A second game.
- 35:50Speaker 9: Freddy Gonzalez is furious.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Maybe we'll come out and kick dirt on somebody.
- 35:53Speaker 9: We were talking about that earlier fake Award shanean fraud,
- 35:55Speaker 9: the angry managers in baseball that kicked dirt on the
- 36:00Speaker 9: already figures. I can't imagine someone as old school as
- 36:03Speaker 9: fake Howard thinks that that's any way to treat an
- 36:05Speaker 9: authority figure.
- 36:06Speaker 8: No, Dan, As you know, anybody that wears a patch
- 36:08Speaker 8: on his bleezer certainly conducts himself in a certain manner
- 36:11Speaker 8: that wouldn't be consistent with that. I'm old school, as
- 36:14Speaker 8: you know, but the only thing I might do would
- 36:16Speaker 8: be to turn the pipe upside down and put some
- 36:18Speaker 8: ash on the field.
- 36:21Speaker 9: That does seem like something that you might be able
- 36:23Speaker 9: Did you ever do that? Do we ever sensed with
- 36:26Speaker 9: a referee and through some ash on you kick some
- 36:30Speaker 9: ash on the field?
- 36:31Speaker 1: Are you somebody who kicks ash?
- 36:33Speaker 8: I can comport myself when necessary, and so I've been
- 36:35Speaker 8: able to do that. But if I ever ruse to
- 36:38Speaker 8: the level of frustration with these arriffs, that might be
- 36:40Speaker 8: something I would do.
- 36:41Speaker 9: All right, I think that Do you want to stick
- 36:43Speaker 9: around here? Because sometimes it's dangers. Want to keep asking
- 36:47Speaker 9: questions of the fake Howard Snelling for he likes to
- 36:49Speaker 9: come in, make a big appearance, and then leave, so that,
- 36:52Speaker 9: you know, leave him wanting more? Is the Schnelling fraud philosophy?
- 36:55Speaker 8: Well, as you know, Dan, I was in the area
- 36:57Speaker 8: trying to do some recruiting, and I don't have an
- 36:59Speaker 8: appointment for while, so I'm gonna just sit back here
- 37:01Speaker 8: and be quiet. Don't you come to me?
- 37:03Speaker 4: All?
- 37:03Speaker 8: Come to you? All right?
- 37:04Speaker 9: You'll pipe in when you want to pipe in? Eight
- 37:06Speaker 9: eight eight seven nine oh three seven seven six is
- 37:09Speaker 9: not You know, there's a big recruits in the area.
- 37:11Speaker 1: You're recruiting four forty one.
- 37:13Speaker 5: He's recruiting.
- 37:14Speaker 8: He's rich area.
- 37:15Speaker 9: Yeah, he's recruiting across over there at that Greek diner
- 37:19Speaker 9: down the street and the Sad gas station. He's just
- 37:21Speaker 9: looking around the guy who asked me for changing the
- 37:24Speaker 9: sad gas station. Maybe he can play a little bit
- 37:26Speaker 9: for the owls.
- 37:27Speaker 8: Don't forget man, it's if a you we have to
- 37:28Speaker 8: scout all over town.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I understand, went well and again, very quick on his feet. Yes,
- 37:37Speaker 1: the red white and blue, Red white and blue.
- 37:40Speaker 2: The Calhoun Kenny Calhoun, by the way, Dan doing play
- 37:44Speaker 2: by play during a date night doubleheader. That is I
- 37:48Speaker 2: mean that to me, like it's those little things when
- 37:50Speaker 2: you're listening back to the old clips where you're like,
- 37:53Speaker 2: first he's giving out the phone number, which is just
- 37:55Speaker 2: funny to me because it's so radio and then you
- 37:58Speaker 2: know they're talking and he's like and Hanley Ramirez gruns
- 38:02Speaker 2: out to end the game, and Freddy Gonzalez having ready
- 38:05Speaker 2: for game two coming up in about an hour and
- 38:07Speaker 2: a half, like with like just out of nowhere, Yes,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I give you one more fake Howard clip that I
- 38:14Speaker 2: don't know if it ever got played on the air period.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I think what happened was we recorded this and then
- 38:21Speaker 1: decided it wasn't funny enough.
- 38:25Speaker 2: The Dolphins' rights I think had just been acquired by seven.
- 38:30Speaker 1: To ninety the ticket and you know that.
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think we've talked about that, that negotiation and that
- 38:36Speaker 2: and what that meant for the radio station.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Good and bad, good and bad.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Good from a branding standpoint, good to have the Dolphins
- 38:42Speaker 3: the biggest team in town. Bad, as we discussed, because
- 38:47Speaker 3: the inexperience of us at the time overpaid for that
- 38:50Speaker 3: for that particular property.
- 38:51Speaker 1: And so but still, all in all, I would say
- 38:53Speaker 1: good we had the Dolphins in our first year as
- 38:55Speaker 1: a radio station was crazy. We came up with this idea.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Remember we had done Robot Baseball with Boog and everyone
- 39:02Speaker 2: loved it, and so sometimes you want to make a sequel.
- 39:05Speaker 2: And so we decided to put Boog and Fake Howard
- 39:09Speaker 2: in studio and make an audition tape to have them
- 39:14Speaker 2: as the two voices for Miami Dolphins football. So it
- 39:18Speaker 2: would be Boog Shambi play by play, Fake Howard as
- 39:22Speaker 2: the analyst. Sure, and the concept behind this was much
- 39:27Speaker 2: like Robot Baseball, We're going to have Boog do something
- 39:30Speaker 2: along with Fake Howard this time, and then I'll dress
- 39:32Speaker 2: it up with all kinds of sound effects and.
- 39:34Speaker 1: We'll play this.
- 39:35Speaker 2: And I think what happened was because there are no
- 39:37Speaker 2: sound effects. I think I listened to it the final
- 39:40Speaker 2: product and said, even if I dress this up, it's
- 39:43Speaker 2: going to fall flat.
- 39:44Speaker 1: It just doesn't.
- 39:46Speaker 2: It's not a worthy sequel of Robot Baseball. So this
- 39:52Speaker 2: might be I don't know if I ever aired this
- 39:53Speaker 2: on the radio show. This may be the first and
- 39:56Speaker 2: only time that it'll ever be heard. I'm not certain
- 39:58Speaker 2: i've heard it, to be honest with you, Yeah, I
- 40:01Speaker 2: don't know. I wasn't certain that I had when I
- 40:03Speaker 2: started listening to it, and then I was like, I
- 40:05Speaker 2: do remember this.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I just don't remember.
- 40:08Speaker 2: I know I never completed it, but maybe I did
- 40:11Speaker 2: this bit on the radio show where I said, hey,
- 40:13Speaker 2: this didn't work, and I'll play for you what we have.
- 40:15Speaker 2: I will tell you there is one gem of a
- 40:18Speaker 2: line in here. It is at the end. It is
- 40:21Speaker 2: one of the riskiest jokes that I or Barry whoever
- 40:26Speaker 2: wrote it, ever wrote, and it may be the reason
- 40:30Speaker 2: that I didn't put it on the air, because it
- 40:31Speaker 2: was like, so it's kind of a cringe worthy joke.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You'll hear it at the end, all right, But here
- 40:39Speaker 2: it is. This was the concept of Boog and Fake
- 40:41Speaker 2: Howard auditioning to call Dolphins games.
- 40:45Speaker 7: Book Shanbi along with Fake Howard excited to be part
- 40:48Speaker 7: of this Dolphins radio network. Fake, I'm expecting good things
- 40:51Speaker 7: out of this Nick Saban led Dolphin team.
- 40:53Speaker 8: Well, as you know, Boog, I know a few things
- 40:56Speaker 8: about coaching and football and head coaches in particular, and
- 40:59Speaker 8: I think this Nick's even as an outstanding football coach.
- 41:01Speaker 8: He reminds me a lot of another Dolphins coach, Don Shula.
- 41:04Speaker 8: Don was what you'd call an old school type of coach,
- 41:07Speaker 8: and Nick Saban certainly reminds me a lot of him. Fake.
- 41:09Speaker 7: Have you ever seen a Nick Saban coach football team. No,
- 41:13Speaker 7: can't say that I have, but I do like that
- 41:14Speaker 7: he's old school all right to offlit football second and
- 41:18Speaker 7: long for the fans at they're hown thirty five.
- 41:20Speaker 8: Well, that sounds like a fine, fine time for either
- 41:22Speaker 8: a bootleg or a waggle plea fake.
- 41:25Speaker 7: If you were able to go back into the archives
- 41:27Speaker 7: and figure out how you came up with the waggle play,
- 41:30Speaker 7: tell me.
- 41:30Speaker 8: Well, it's actually an interesting story on that play. I
- 41:33Speaker 8: was drawing up a just type of a running play,
- 41:35Speaker 8: if you will, where the quarterback would sort of scramble,
- 41:38Speaker 8: and one of the grandkids came in with, well, I
- 41:39Speaker 8: guess you'd call it a hula hoop, and they would
- 41:41Speaker 8: start doing those sorts of I guess those gyrations of sorts.
- 41:44Speaker 8: And Beverly came in and said, don't waggle that thing
- 41:48Speaker 8: at your grandfather. He's busy working, And I said, waggle,
- 41:50Speaker 8: that's an interesting thing, and that became the waggle PLEA.
- 41:54Speaker 7: Feely back to pass has a man right side Chris
- 41:56Speaker 7: Chambers with the catch at the fifteen and down onto
- 42:00Speaker 7: the ten yard line, first in ten for the Miami Dolphins.
- 42:03Speaker 7: Fake interested to see what we'll get out of Ricky
- 42:05Speaker 7: Williams this year As a pipe smoker yourself, how do
- 42:09Speaker 7: you think that affects his game?
- 42:10Speaker 8: Well, as you know, Ricky's problem wasn't necessarily that he
- 42:13Speaker 8: was a pipe smoker. It's what he was putting in
- 42:16Speaker 8: the pipe. I actually think he can use the pipe
- 42:18Speaker 8: smoking to his advantage. He would just put tobacco in
- 42:21Speaker 8: that pipe instead of the other things that he was smoking.
- 42:23Speaker 8: That way, he can create a plume of smoke while
- 42:26Speaker 8: he's running down the field. And basically he could get
- 42:29Speaker 8: lost in that smoke and run for a touchdown. So
- 42:31Speaker 8: you're looking at it more from the distraction point of view, Yes, absolutely,
- 42:35Speaker 8: more of a weapon, if you will, an offensive weapon,
- 42:37Speaker 8: almost like in wrestling. If you remember the Great Kamala.
- 42:40Speaker 8: He would create smoke and it would work to his advantage.
- 42:42Speaker 8: I think the same thing could happen for Ricky.
- 42:44Speaker 7: And now fourth and seven from the Dolphins thirty two,
- 42:47Speaker 7: here comes the punting team.
- 42:48Speaker 8: Well, Boog, I think this would be an excellent opportunity
- 42:51Speaker 8: for a humble Rooski or a punt Rooski. As you'll remember,
- 42:54Speaker 8: Nebraska used this against Us in the Orange Bowl back
- 42:57Speaker 8: in eighty four, with Dean steang Kuehler running the Fumski
- 43:00Speaker 8: play for a touchdown. I'm a huge fan of all Rooskies,
- 43:04Speaker 8: fumble Rooskies, punt Rouskies, the Boris ELTs In, pavel Bury,
- 43:08Speaker 8: the Yakov Smirnov, you know, pretty much all Rooskies.
- 43:11Speaker 7: Boog, must have been really difficult when the Cold War
- 43:13Speaker 7: ended for.
- 43:14Speaker 8: You, Yes it was.
- 43:15Speaker 7: But that's where the pipe once again would kick in
- 43:17Speaker 7: and would warm me up. Here's the snap and the
- 43:19Speaker 7: kick is away. A beautiful punt nice hangtime. This will
- 43:23Speaker 7: give a chance for the Dolphin defense to do some
- 43:25Speaker 7: damage and get the offense back out on the field.
- 43:28Speaker 8: Boob, The only way this defense is going to do
- 43:30Speaker 8: any damage is if they're at one of those all
- 43:32Speaker 8: you can eat Chinese boufis that Larry Chester looks like
- 43:36Speaker 8: he could polish off some meg rules?
- 43:37Speaker 7: Fake, It'll be interesting to see what we get out
- 43:40Speaker 7: of run and carry this season, don't you think.
- 43:42Speaker 8: Well, if you say so, Fake.
- 43:44Speaker 7: Howard, are you a Gus Farat or an aj feely guy?
- 43:47Speaker 8: Well, to me, they're both terrible, to be honest with you, Boob.
- 43:49Speaker 8: One of them throws like Beverly and the other one
- 43:52Speaker 8: throws like the Schmoe using his opposite arm. And what
- 43:54Speaker 8: kind of a name is Gus? Anyway? Fake?
- 43:57Speaker 7: When you were coaching, did you ever see a receiver
- 43:59Speaker 7: with a body like David Boston?
- 44:01Speaker 8: Well, I am coaching, by the way, still coaching. But
- 44:04Speaker 8: when I was at the University of Miami, we had
- 44:06Speaker 8: Eddie Brown and Stanley Shakespeare, who were two fine wide receivers.
- 44:09Speaker 8: But when I think of wide receivers with a body,
- 44:12Speaker 8: the only name that comes to mind is a Ray Caruth.
- 44:14Speaker 7: All right, this one in the books here at Dolphins Stadium,
- 44:17Speaker 7: as did Dolphins go down to defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers,
- 44:21Speaker 7: John Shamby alongside Fake Howard and coach Any final thoughts.
- 44:25Speaker 8: No, just that I'm looking forward to a fine, fine
- 44:27Speaker 8: season with you, Bob, And I don't know if this
- 44:30Speaker 8: is going to get us the job or not. I
- 44:31Speaker 8: don't know who's evaluating the talent. If it's going to
- 44:34Speaker 8: be that Rick Spilman. I think you and I are
- 44:36Speaker 8: going to be spending a lot of sundays together in
- 44:38Speaker 8: Dolphins Stadium, and I look forward to that.
- 44:39Speaker 7: All Right, there you have it for Fake Howard. I'm
- 44:41Speaker 7: Boog Shammy once again. The final score Steelers over the Dolphins,
- 44:45Speaker 7: seventeen to fourteen, and we'll look forward to talking to
- 44:48Speaker 7: you here on the Dolphins Radio Network, Beverly.
- 44:51Speaker 8: The pipe is on its way home.
- 44:55Speaker 2: A couple observations there, because I don't think that ever
- 44:57Speaker 2: made the air.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Oh go, you could.
- 45:00Speaker 2: See it's got the same cadence as robot baseball. Yes, right,
- 45:04Speaker 2: Boog doing actual calls, but then interspersing comedic stuff in,
- 45:09Speaker 2: and then when there's a little comedy one liner, the
- 45:14Speaker 2: punch is Boog going right back to announcing as if
- 45:17Speaker 2: nothing out of the ordinary had just happened. So the
- 45:19Speaker 2: cadence is there, but it pales in comparison to robot Baseball.
- 45:24Speaker 1: It would have been a bad sequel. It would have
- 45:27Speaker 1: been a bad sequel. The Ray Caruth joke at the.
- 45:30Speaker 2: End is wild. He would no, No, that is one written.
- 45:39Speaker 2: I can tell which of those jokes are written. There's
- 45:41Speaker 2: a few that are written that is. I don't know
- 45:45Speaker 2: if I wrote it, Barry wrote it, Dan wrote it.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Like that is a wild joke. Talking about David Boston
- 45:51Speaker 2: had an unbelievably ripped body.
- 45:53Speaker 1: You'd never seen a receiver like him before.
- 45:56Speaker 2: And for fake Howard to say the only wide receiver
- 45:59Speaker 2: I can think of with a body is Ray Carruth
- 46:03Speaker 2: is wild.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Do you know the Ray Caruth story? Taylor, Yeah, Charlotte, Oh.
- 46:09Speaker 2: That's right, Yeah, yeah, Like that's wild joke.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I mean that may have been why I didn't.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Air it, like like like like I heard like the
- 46:21Speaker 2: fundamental like the seed. The idea was a good idea,
- 46:24Speaker 2: the execution was actually pretty decent.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm surprised that never made it to air, Like you weren't.
- 46:29Speaker 3: I'm surprised that you weren't intrigued enough to kind of
- 46:32Speaker 3: have them do it again and again and again until you.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Because I think, you know, robot Baseball was so well
- 46:40Speaker 2: received that I was just like, no matter how good
- 46:44Speaker 2: this is, because maybe it's good, it's not robot Baseball good.
- 46:48Speaker 2: And so I always had to try to gauge things off.
- 46:50Speaker 2: How's Dan going to react to it after it plays?
- 46:54Speaker 1: Of course, because.
- 46:55Speaker 2: If he poo poos it after it's done, that's it.
- 46:57Speaker 2: It's got no legs after that. Yes, And if he
- 47:00Speaker 2: embraces it, that's the greatest thing, which he did with
- 47:02Speaker 2: robot Baseball, everyone kind of falls into line.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And I just think I got to the point where.
- 47:06Speaker 2: I was and maybe even played it for someone or
- 47:09Speaker 2: played it for Dan, and someone.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Said, what is with the Raka ruth joke? Are you
- 47:14Speaker 1: out of your fucking mind? No, but I think you're right.
- 47:17Speaker 3: I think we hit it out of the park the
- 47:20Speaker 3: first time we went into the booth and tried to
- 47:21Speaker 3: do something with play by play.
- 47:23Speaker 1: That was Robot Baseball at Boog and it was so.
