- 0:00Yeah. Oh, Cookie Monster would share
- 0:03his cookie. Yep, it against me Primal
- 0:06Instinct, but you share with me and me.
- 0:10Share with you, okay. What do you say?
- 0:14We eat these Cookie Monster Style
- 0:43Welcome to hubba-wha a muppet quiz show brought to you by
- 0:48tough pigs.com. It's your favorite quiz show.
- 0:51That's not like the others here, Muppet fans, Muppet
- 0:55professionals and One in between competes, for fabulous prizes,
- 1:01and to see who's this week's toughest pick.
- 1:04I'm your host. Becca petunia of tough pigs.com.
- 1:08You know, I've been thinking about one of my favorite Sesame,
- 1:11Street lines, family, dinners are really great, we eat the
- 1:15food and then the plate. So today on hubba-wha, we are
- 1:19going to have a great family dinner.
- 1:21As we think about Gathering our relatives, cooking a meal,
- 1:25eating that meal and sitting back.
- 1:27To watch a parade, folks. That's right.
- 1:30It's time to talk about all of these great Thanksgiving
- 1:33Concepts. It's a Thanksgiving episode.
- 1:36But wait, you asked Thanksgiving, is it for a couple
- 1:40of months? Yes.
- 1:43Listen, if Ryan and Anthony are allowed to talk about Christmas
- 1:47all year long on Movin right along this year, then I can talk
- 1:51about Thanksgiving. Now that was the idea all along
- 1:54and it totally isn't that our release schedule got a little
- 1:57messed up. As always, these questions were
- 2:00written by me with help from that amazing Muppet resource
- 2:03Muppet Wiki. Speaking of, let's agree to play
- 2:06fair today. Please don't look at Muppet Wiki
- 2:09or any other resource. It's during this game, you
- 2:12shouldn't need Muppet Wiki to tell you that the turkeys, the
- 2:15turkey you turkey. So let's start things off by
- 2:19setting the table in a game. I like to call to tell a face
- 2:24contestants buzz in to answer three questions about yourself.
- 2:28Whoever buzzes in first will get introduced first ready.
- 2:33Go All right, that's Matthew. So, Matthew, my first question
- 2:39for you. What is your name?
- 2:41My name is Matthew. So Berman, is that correct?
- 2:45Did I get that right? Yeah, I have to check.
- 2:47I'm gonna have to check Muppet Wiki, but I think according to
- 2:50Muppet Wiki. That's correct.
- 2:52At least starting in season 2. Okay.
- 2:56Next question, what's your history with the Muppets?
- 3:01Well, like most people I was kind of raised on Muppets stuff
- 3:04than, you know. My parents fought a lot of the
- 3:06VHS tapes, when I was a kid, my sick, my home sick from school
- 3:11movie was the great Muppet, Caper, which I must say, is it
- 3:16in the last couple of years has proven very beneficial to my
- 3:19mental well-being. I you just been in a muppet fan
- 3:25for life and I sort of rediscovered it like freshman
- 3:29year of college. And that's, and then a few years
- 3:33later, I joined, tough eggs. Yeah.
- 3:35And you, you still write for tough pigs?
- 3:37Correct. I do.
- 3:39I just wrote literally every review we did pertaining to Holy
- 3:43Moly. I will tell you the only thing I
- 3:48saw of holy moly was an animated gif of Lucille and throwing
- 3:52Kermit. Then you saw the best of it.
- 3:55I did not see anything else. I never turned on my television
- 4:00or Hulu or however, I'm supposed to watch it.
- 4:03Did not do that and you missed little to nothing.
- 4:08That's what I hear from your reviews which I did read.
- 4:10They were excellent very thoughtful.
- 4:12Everyone should check them out. And my third question, which
- 4:17Muppet would you most want to invite to a Thanksgiving dinner?
- 4:23Ooh, because it's Thanksgiving. Yeah, I know.
- 4:28And it's like which Muppet am I most thankful for?
- 4:31Yeah. Oh I mean I don't want to sound
- 4:34basic but I think it would have to be Kermit because great
- 4:38conversationalist very helpful. You know.
- 4:42Just just an all around Good Egg.
- 4:45Yeah. With a with like some of these,
- 4:47I will say this, if it can't be Kermit, probably Fozzie.
- 4:52That way, you only have to worry about him stealing like a candy
- 4:56dish. If you're in jail, Leno's house
- 4:59and I don't think I'm going there for Thanksgiving.
- 5:01I usually do, but we have to see this year, you know, things are
- 5:05a little, you know, got a visit, got to visit the in-laws now.
- 5:11All right, and very good. That's 20 points, right there
- 5:17and we're gonna move on to our second contestant.
- 5:19My only lead of the show. Is it?
- 5:21You're in the lead? Shane, what is your name?
- 5:24Does it count if you've already said it?
- 5:26I mean if it's your name it's still the right answer.
- 5:30Okay. Well I think it's Shane Keating
- 5:34it is. All right, and Shane what's your
- 5:38history with the Muppets? I think, like, Matthew and like
- 5:42everybody else, it was just something we saw as very young
- 5:46children and I stuck to it all these years.
- 5:50And now I'm also a writer Therefore tough pigs, ho ho,
- 5:53that's true. And also, for Muppet Wiki.
- 5:56Yeah, I know you're saying, you know, don't don't look at Muppet
- 5:59Wiki during the show, one of us is Muppet Wiki personifies that
- 6:03pretty much. But, uh, I mean, I may have
- 6:06written some stuff that you based questions on, who knows.
- 6:10Well, almost, definitely in some of the cases, but you'll figure
- 6:13that out when we get there which of the Muppets Shane.
- 6:17Would you most want to invite to a family dinner, a Thanksgiving
- 6:21family? A dinner because it's
- 6:23Thanksgiving, I miss it. Maybe boober because boober can
- 6:27cook, strong can't cook so he would make some pretty you know,
- 6:30good food. I bet some lima bean soup or
- 6:35well maybe not that but yes pea soup piece soup.
- 6:40Yes that's right I remember that wasn't that long ago?
- 6:45Yeah well speaking of inviting people to dinner, let's talk a
- 6:51little bit. About families in this round
- 6:54which we are calling, can you guess we all have families and
- 7:00Muppets are no different? While some Muppet relatives are
- 7:04well-known, like Kermit's nephew Robin or scooters sister.
- 7:08Skeeter. Others are a little more obscure
- 7:12but everyone has someone they're related to.
- 7:14And in this game we're going to explore this.
- 7:17I'm going to name a Muppet or Henson.
- 7:21Her relative, your job is to buzz in and name the more famous
- 7:27character. They're related to, you will
- 7:30also score a bonus point if you can name how they're related.
- 7:36For instance, if I said traveling Matt, you would buzz
- 7:41in and say Gobo you'd earn an extra point.
- 7:45If you said that Matt was gobos Uncle or yeah, you could frame
- 7:50it, as gobo Matt's nephew and score the point as well.
- 7:55Yes, real Muppet Wiki Wise, Guys could say uncle Gobo as a
- 8:00relative of traveling Matt, but I did ask for more famous
- 8:05characters, less famous characters, but I mean in
- 8:10universe is Uncle Gobo more famous than regular Gobo.
- 8:14This is why we need a season 2 of back to the rocks.
- 8:17Oh yeah, there we go Florida's. Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 8:20New timeline now. Yes.
- 8:23Please wait until I finish saying the character's name or
- 8:26names to buzzin. So our family at home can play
- 8:29along, are we ready? You got it.
- 8:32All right. Yeah, and that I should just say
- 8:34sometimes there will be two relatives mentioned like in this
- 8:381 question 1, Andy and Randy Matthew, that would be Miss
- 8:48Piggy and she is their aunt. They are her nephew's correct?
- 8:55That's two points. This job wasn't too hard.
- 9:00Second question. Louis and May Shane that they
- 9:10are Elmo's parents. They are Elmo's parents, I
- 9:14forgot Elmo's mother's name. She doesn't show up as much.
- 9:19Yeah, question 3, Rudy Shame. He is related to Abby Cadabby
- 9:31and he is her stepbrother. Correct?
- 9:34I guess I'm counting that as a relative.
- 9:36A let's be clear by marriage. Hmm question.
- 9:41For Vinnie linguine, do we lose points if we get it wrong no.
- 9:47And I've nothing to lose shame. I'm gonna say he's related to
- 9:53Rizzo. He is related to Renzo that's
- 9:56that sounds like a Rizzo kind of name.
- 10:04Cousin, you would think he would be his cousin Vinnie, but he is
- 10:10not his cousin Vinnie. Matthew D of a guess.
- 10:15I know he has Brothers, you know, at least in the tens of
- 10:20thousands, I'm going to say his brother.
- 10:22It is his brother. Hold on the new Muppet Babies.
- 10:26That's right on the new Muppet Babies.
- 10:29He is Rizzo's brother, who is a pop star.
- 10:32Our question 5, flutter. Shane.
- 10:42Aha, this one I do know she is Cutters on from bear.
- 10:47The Big Blue House. She is his grandmother, correct?
- 10:52I do want to say that is the first Bear in the Big Blue House
- 10:55question. On two seasons of hubba-wha,
- 10:58there's not going to be a whole Bear in the Big Blue House
- 11:00episode. I would want there to be, but I
- 11:03feel like it'd be tough. Tough to find guests who are
- 11:07capable Maybe when it drops on Disney Plus at whenever the
- 11:12whole series is out there so people can watch it.
- 11:15I feel like no McNeil keep saying that this is gonna be a
- 11:17real good year for for Bear in the Big Blue House.
- 11:20So question 6, Baron Petrie. Shane.
- 11:31Baron Petrie. Von honeydew.
- 11:34Is dr. Bunsen Honeydew.
- 11:35Dues, Oh, I'm great uncle I'll give you a point for knowing
- 11:42that he is related to Bunsen Honeydew but he is not a great
- 11:48uncle. Is he just a regular Uncle?
- 11:50I mean I was going to let Matthew guess.
- 11:53Oh, is he just a regular Uncle? He sure is Matthew.
- 11:58He's just a regular table scraps and of course this was
- 12:03established we're not for any points but I wouldn't know about
- 12:07that monster adventure minigame. Not minigame video game that
- 12:12wasn't for points, right? Because I saw he does, but that
- 12:14no, that wasn't for points. The games fun.
- 12:17So I don't know. I've never played it.
- 12:19I've just seen playthroughs. It kind of looks like Spiral but
- 12:22with Muppets, it's basically a Spyro clone.
- 12:25And frankly with not enough Muppets to justify it but Spyro
- 12:30is fun. So there you go, question, 7,
- 12:34Nani, Matthew That is Big Bird's Aunt correct.
- 12:43As established in the Sesame beginning, these tapes I have
- 12:48never watched any of those me either, but I've read Muppet
- 12:51Wiki question, 8 flange. Shane flange is the father of
- 13:05cotterpin doozer. Correct question.
- 13:10Nine Laverne. Shane, that's animals.
- 13:18Mother. That is animals, mother, as
- 13:21established in the book, The Case of the missing mother,
- 13:25which we once did as a tough Pigs book club and you can
- 13:27probably still fine. I think she also had some sitcom
- 13:31with some guy named Squiggy illallah learn.
- 13:35It was actually more. Um, oh question. 10 flossie.
- 13:46Matthew. Isn't that Elmo sister?
- 13:50It is a sister. I will actually give you a point
- 13:54for sister in the spirit of Thanksgiving, but it's not
- 13:59Elmo's. Elmo sister?
- 14:00Was, of course, named easy Maisie.
- 14:04No Daisy. Daisy.
- 14:05Like Daisy, Shane. Do you want.
- 14:08Do you know whose sister flossie is glossy?
- 14:14I'm just going to take a stab hairy monster.
- 14:17It is hairy monster established in a couple of storybooks, she
- 14:23like existed for a bit there. There isn't a question about his
- 14:29other sister is there. No.
- 14:32Okay as I know he has he has another sister named Harriet and
- 14:36a twin brother named Jerry monster and he also they also
- 14:40gave him another sister a few seasons ago.
- 14:43She didn't have a name but but she's not blue either.
- 14:47So that was I mean it cannot be adopted or also through marriage
- 14:53stepsister. Question 11, composter Heap?
- 15:02Matthew. My ring again.
- 15:05Um, Oh, I thought you did compost to he, do you not know?
- 15:10I'm gonna guess. It's the sister of Marjorie the
- 15:12trash. Great guess, not correct?
- 15:16No, no. You know, it is a sister though
- 15:21or something else. It's two things but I will give
- 15:24you a point for sister. Again in the spirit of
- 15:27Thanksgiving Shane. Can you steal?
- 15:30I can steal that is mulch. His sister from Muppets tonight.
- 15:37All right, that is pure filth and neuter.
- 15:40Does the Thomas Dolby cover that is that is mulches sister.
- 15:45Who else is she related to? We can buzz in again for this.
- 15:49Oh, dope. I just gave it away.
- 15:52Didn't I? Shane dr.
- 15:54Phil Van neuters wife. Yes, question. 12 Athena Shane,
- 16:05that is Hoots the owls granddaughter that is Hoots the
- 16:09owls granddaughter question, 13 dusk, Oh, I stomped even these
- 16:17two with this one. I'm just going to take a guess,
- 16:22Shane. Now dusk is a part of the is
- 16:27something you say about the sky and who lives in the sky, Luna
- 16:32from fair, in the Big Blue House.
- 16:35So I'm going to say dusk, is the niece of Luna from Bear in the
- 16:41Big Blue House. I wish they'd spent more time on
- 16:44Lunas family. Luna had other Celestial.
- 16:47Family members. It is not.
- 16:50Not Luna. I will say you're thinking along
- 16:54the right path in some ways. Matthew Honestly the only thing
- 17:00I can think of is dusk is the opposite of dawn.
- 17:03So I'm going to say, prairie Dawn's brother.
- 17:06It's Prairie Don's Aunt. You know, I was also thinking
- 17:11Perry done because Dusk and Dawn, but I just went for the
- 17:16stupid route instead. Yeah, when in doubt go
- 17:19ridiculous question, 14 bobbin. I will spell this for you
- 17:30because it might make it a little easier B.o.B be ' and I
- 17:38got nothing to lose. Shane desk.
- 17:41All right, so Bob from Sesame Street, his brother Minneapolis
- 17:47Johnson, that's played by Jeff Goldblum.
- 17:51Yep, Minneapolis is third cousin, twice removed his body.
- 17:58Barbara's street cleaners, nephews.
- 18:02Godchild Shane, I can't believe that you did it again.
- 18:08I got it wrong. Yes.
- 18:11Matthew Matthew, any guesses. You can guess a relation I've
- 18:15been given points for that. I'm gonna say, The father
- 18:24because we haven't done father's yet.
- 18:26Father of bobbing hip-hop. Yeah, we'll go.
- 18:31I'll go with Bob. No, it's actually deeps brother
- 18:36from each of resistance. See, I feel I have not
- 18:42re-watched any of that since it came out.
- 18:45And I did not retain any like world-building information from
- 18:48that show. There was a lot of
- 18:50world-building information in Show.
- 18:52But And last question of this round, Tommy a human man who
- 18:59looks exactly like famous actor and Muppets tonight guest star
- 19:03Dennis Quaid Shane. He is telling monsters Uncle
- 19:12correct it from that VHS telling the truth.
- 19:17I found that on Muppet Wiki and I thought that was the funniest
- 19:20thing anyone had ever written. And I Watch to that entire VHS.
- 19:25It's on YouTube. It is not good.
- 19:29The story of the boy who cries wolf has absolutely nothing to
- 19:33do with Telly's story of lying that his uncle works in the
- 19:36circus, but it is worth it for the end when it is revealed that
- 19:40spoilers for telling the truth, a 90s Sesame Street VHS.
- 19:46It is revealed that tele lied about his uncle working in the
- 19:50circus because he wanted to sound cool when In reality his
- 19:55uncle is looks like Dennis Quaid and is an astronaut with his own
- 20:00jet pack that he blasts off and spends the duration of the
- 20:05credits of telling the truth. Just flying through space.
- 20:09Just like he does in the right stuff.
- 20:12I got I got a Matthew. Well thank you both for helping
- 20:19me, prove my theory of relativity now that everyone is
- 20:23here. Here.
- 20:24Let's start cooking and we all know one of the most okey-dokey
- 20:30Chefs of all is our pal. The Swedish, Chef not Angela.
- 20:36So we are going to play a Swedish Chef version of our
- 20:43finish. The sketch game from last
- 20:45season, which we called then, what's prairies problem in this
- 20:50game, I'm going to describe the Inning of a Swedish, Chef sketch
- 20:55from The Muppet Show. Your job is to tell me the
- 20:59ending or the punch line. In other words, not from
- 21:03Muppets. Now know, these are all from the
- 21:06Muppet Show. I am not a fan of Muppets now in
- 21:11general and the Swedish Chef components of Muppets now in
- 21:14specific. But are you a fan of Danny
- 21:17Trejo? Yes, but I preferred him in
- 21:21Muppets Most Wanted. So your job is to Tell me the
- 21:24ending or the punchline of the sketch.
- 21:25In other words, how the Swedish Chef solves his problem, or more
- 21:31often than not how the Swedish Chef makes the problem worse.
- 21:35So for instance, if I said that the Swedish Chef was making
- 21:39Flapjacks and they got stuck to the ceiling, you'd tell me.
- 21:42He solved that problem by shooting them with his
- 21:45Blunderbuss gun. Each of these questions is worth
- 21:49one point as always, wait, until I'm done.
- 21:53Having the sketch to buzz in. Here we go.
- 22:08question, 1, the chef tries to make Lobster Thermidor but is
- 22:12stopped when Matthew he is a hijacked by a group of lobster,
- 22:23Red Lobster. Bandidos, he is absolutely
- 22:27hijacked by the lobster Banditos question to the chef shoots, an
- 22:31English muffin with his Blunderbuss which creates
- 22:38Matthew a donut correct question 3, the chef wants to make
- 22:45chicken in the basket. This is easy.
- 22:47You takes a chicken and Shane he throws it into a basketball hoop
- 22:56basket. He sure.
- 22:57Does know, is that one point or two points?
- 23:04In the sketch, he says it's 2.0. Okay.
- 23:07I mean, I got that. It was a basketball joke, I just
- 23:09didn't remember that part of its sketch question for the Chef
- 23:14makes chocolate cake with cream and fruit, which apparently
- 23:18turns it into a samurai, he defeats it with Matthew a
- 23:26baseball bat correct of the cake and smooth.
- 23:29Sure, I believe question 5, the chefs meet loafers are a Twist
- 23:37on Meatloaf where the meat is. Shane he puts it in a loafer
- 23:46like the shoe not a lazy person. He sure does.
- 23:50Question 6, the chef wants to make turtle soup but the turtle
- 23:54keeps hiding in its shell the chef brings out his Blunderbuss
- 23:58but Shane the turtle shell turns into a tank and he shoots them.
- 24:07It sure does. He kind of looks like a
- 24:11Blastoise from, come on. Yeah the kids love that.
- 24:15The kids of 1982 love that to question seven the chef wants to
- 24:20make eggs so he gets a chicken to lay some however the chicken
- 24:29Shane. Well now there's two different
- 24:33bits there. Sure are.
- 24:34He's done this there. Sure is.
- 24:37Are they both acceptable? Yes.
- 24:39So one of them the chicken just lays ping-pong balls so the chef
- 24:44chase him around hit by her because you know chickens it
- 24:47lays on tickets legs and the other one.
- 24:50Well pause pause Matthew. Do you know the other one?
- 24:53Oh Hey, I don't follow, I'm gonna say the chicken lays a
- 24:58hand grenade. You know, that's so close, I
- 25:01guess. It's a bomb, isn't it?
- 25:03It's just one of those little black bombs with the fuse on it
- 25:07like, you know, in the cartoon. Yeah, but a hand, grenade is
- 25:11shaped like an egg. Yeah, actually, that's true.
- 25:14A hand grenade is shaped more like an I've got gave you the
- 25:17point. Thank you some sort of explosive
- 25:20device. And then there was the one with
- 25:23the ping-pong balls as well. Question, 8, the chef wants to
- 25:27open up a coconut and struggles to find a hammer and saw
- 25:31unfortunately, inside the coconut, he finds Shane a bomb.
- 25:41Also, a bomb. Yes.
- 25:43Question, 9, the chef wants to make frogs legs.
- 25:47So he grabs Robin and starts menacing him with a cleaver
- 25:52Permit runs into stop the sketch, but Rob it objects to
- 25:55the way. His uncle is trying to end
- 25:57things. Since Kermit is yelling.
- 26:03Matthew cut. Correct, don't say, cut?
- 26:08Say, stop. Hmm.
- 26:10And last question in the kind of thanksgiving-themed Arlo Guthrie
- 26:15episode of The Muppet Show, the chef wants to make a big
- 26:18home-cooked meal for everyone, but the turkeys pigs Hours and
- 26:22even the vegetables refused to let him cook them.
- 26:26So instead he serves everyone Matthew, I'm gonna say popcorn.
- 26:35It is not popcorn. Good?
- 26:37Guess. Shane.
- 26:38Do you know vitamin pills? It is vitamin pills.
- 26:43All right. Well now that we've done all of
- 26:46that cooking as my other favorite Chef donger would say.
- 26:52And speaking of the monster Foodies, it's time for a very
- 26:55special round of our classic head-to-head Game.
- 26:59Beat the top. I'm which today we are calling
- 27:05eat the time. That's right.
- 27:08It's time to eat up with kongers.
- 27:10Best friend Cookie Monster, maybe you've heard of that guy.
- 27:14Well, if you haven't, let me tell you, this guy is this furry
- 27:17monster. He's blue and he's just wild
- 27:21about eating cookies. It's his favorite thing, but
- 27:24he's no stranger to controversy in the 2000s.
- 27:27People worried that Cookie Monster would become the veggie
- 27:31Monster and start only eating healthy, food Muppet fans like
- 27:35us. We're never worried though
- 27:37because we know Cookie Monster has always had a balanced diet.
- 27:41Of course, he munches some carrots and beans, and poultry,
- 27:44and greens along with his chocolate chip since bananas,
- 27:47and plums make him go, yum and nutrition is really hip word.
- 27:54Thank you. But Cookie Monster eats a lot of
- 27:56cookies and a lot of healthy food but he also has eaten a lot
- 27:59of other Things that absolutely unquestionably aren't food.
- 28:07So in this game you are going to take turns naming things other
- 28:13than food, eaten by Cookie Monster.
- 28:16I checked the exhaustive list on Muppet Wiki and I was able to
- 28:21consolidate it into 55, distinct things or categories of things
- 28:2855. This is the biggest game.
- 28:31Game we ever had, although I sincerely doubt anybody is going
- 28:34to be able to get all of that. Your job is to get as many as
- 28:38you can, your stomach's not as big as your eyes, you can only
- 28:42eat so many copies of the script for dr.
- 28:45Zhivago, that's the 56th one. I'm not counting that one but it
- 28:50was on the list. Starting with Matthew, your
- 28:53name, an object cookie Monster. Ate that isn't a food, then
- 28:58we'll pass to shame, you'll take turns until neither of you can
- 29:01name something, if you get it wrong or you answer to slow,
- 29:06your opponent will have a chance to steal and folks, maybe you
- 29:10think this jobs too hard, admittedly.
- 29:13I don't remember all this stuff either, but worse comes to
- 29:16worst. You can just name things.
- 29:18You see around your house and you've got a pretty good chance
- 29:21of Status, this guy loves eating.
- 29:24Are you ready? Because me, Born.
- 29:26Ready? How abunda Matthew?
- 29:31I'm gonna say the Volkswagen from Follow.
- 29:34That Bird the Volkswagen from Follow, That Bird is on my list.
- 29:38Shane a safe journey, safe to be exact.
- 29:43It is Ernie's safe on the list. Matthew eats a typewriter in
- 29:48Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. Sure, does.
- 29:52He also eats a pencil. He sure does Matthew.
- 29:57He eats a telephone. That's the last of the three
- 30:00events that is the last of the three B.
- 30:02Shane a manhole cover, a manhole cover, correct.
- 30:08Matthew, I Believe In A Brief History Of Motion Pictures.
- 30:12He eats Rosebud, the sled from Citizen Kane.
- 30:15He absolutely does. And that's on my list, Shane.
- 30:19Bicycle, he Does eat a bicycle. He shares it with hairy monster
- 30:25they make they make a wish on the handlebars.
- 30:27Matthew, does he eat a computer Matthew?
- 30:33I don't think Cookie Monster has ever eaten a computer.
- 30:37Really, he's eating something that's similar to a computer but
- 30:41not similar enough that I would give you a point for it.
- 30:44Unfortunately, Shane the letter M.
- 30:50I had letters just as one grouping so we didn't have to go
- 30:55through everything. Matthew, well, he said letters,
- 31:00I'm gonna say numbers. He has eaten those as well.
- 31:04Yes. Shane I'm going to this is
- 31:07different than the Volkswagen but a truck.
- 31:10He did eat a truck. Correct.
- 31:14Matthew he wants a julienne. A shoe a shoe.
- 31:18Absolutely, Shane. And that same bet.
- 31:22He ate a Candlestick, a Candlestick.
- 31:25It was lit. Matthew.
- 31:29He's also eating a stick of dynamite in that same sketch.
- 31:32Absolutely, Shane. Her feather boa was also in that
- 31:39correct had to see if I had that written down as boa or feather
- 31:43boa. But yes, Matthew He's eating
- 31:47part of a pyramid, the prop pyramid when the opera singer
- 31:51saying C is for cookie. Isn't that a proper?
- 31:55Is that a an actual cookie know. I considered that to be a cookie
- 31:59because it's a pyramid made of cookies because it's a pyramid
- 32:02made of cookies. Matthew.
- 32:04I will I will let you. I will let you guess again boy
- 32:10I'm running out a lot faster than I thought he eats a glass
- 32:15at some point, he sure. US Shane as Alistair Cookie,
- 32:20he's eaten his pipe, correct, Matthew has eaten the book.
- 32:26He has eaten a book. Shane our cell phones different
- 32:31than telephones. I did not count them
- 32:34differently. I will let you guess again.
- 32:40He's eating a boom mic microphone.
- 32:44Yes, yeah, I just had to again, figure out what I had it written
- 32:49as because I had to consolidate some similar objects.
- 32:52Matthew, he's eating the Christmas tree.
- 32:55He has eaten a Christmas tree. Correct, Shane.
- 32:59He has eaten Sesame Street itself.
- 33:02He did once eat Sesame Street itself, Matthew has Eating the
- 33:08Sesame Street sign. You know, I should have had
- 33:12signs written down. He eats the Sesame Street.
- 33:17Yeah, I do have sign written down because he eats the sign
- 33:19Sesame Street sign in like one of the openings for an animated
- 33:24video storybook video. He definitely does but I'll give
- 33:29it to you for signs. Oh Shane he eats the like the oh
- 33:37award envelope in the monster Hits video.
- 33:43I don't know if it's that I don't know if that's on your
- 33:45list but I am counting that as paper.
- 33:49Okay. Which has not been named yet
- 33:51Matthew or a snow globe. Surprisingly.
- 34:00No. Oh Shane he has eaten snow.
- 34:06He has eaten snow. Not a food Shane.
- 34:10I mean Matthew Oh, is he in the balloon?
- 34:16No boy, huh. Okay, starting to fade.
- 34:21All right, shame eventually. I'll call it a plate.
- 34:27I'll plate that car might that's on my list.
- 34:31Matthew is eating a necktie. He has eaten a necktie.
- 34:36Same. Oh, he's eating the, A Streetcar
- 34:41Named. Stir like poster thing.
- 34:46I don't know if that's on your it does that.
- 34:48I don't know if that counts as paper as well.
- 34:50I think that's paper. I don't have poster as being
- 34:53separate from paper. Sorry.
- 34:55Oh, Matthew has he eaten a surfboard?
- 34:59You would think but no only mr. Hooper gets to Surf.
- 35:04Shane got to call it soon. A brick wall bricks is on the
- 35:10list. Matthew.
- 35:14A pair of glasses. Groucho Marx glasses.
- 35:18I'll give it to Shane a table. No, Matthew.
- 35:29I'm gonna a blender. No you guys get, if you get the
- 35:33next to wrong, I'm calling it. Shane and napkin which I hope
- 35:39does not qualify as paper because there are pay didn't
- 35:42count it as separate from paper. I'll let you guess again, salt
- 35:48and pepper shakers. I may have counted that as glass
- 35:52because what's inside, it is food.
- 35:54Oh, that's true. It is technically food.
- 35:57You sitting not food, okay? No.
- 36:01Matthew Seeing a remote control, she has eaten a remote control.
- 36:09Shane back to you, two people didn't get it wrong.
- 36:17A camera. A camera.
- 36:19Correct. Matthew has, he eaten?
- 36:27What? A tire count separately from a
- 36:29car. I would count Tire separately
- 36:32from a car. Has he eaten attire that I don't
- 36:35actually know if he's eating the tire separately from eating the
- 36:38whole car. So what I said, he had eaten
- 36:41Sesame Street himself itself. There are a lot of things.
- 36:44Oh no, oh no, I ain't that special that are The virtual
- 36:48items. I'm not, I'm not tire swing is
- 36:51one of those things so I don't know Matthew to have another
- 36:54guest. I'm not playing rules lawyer
- 36:56here. I'll just give you another
- 36:57guess. I'm gonna say a jungle gym, he
- 37:00has not eaten a jungle gym Shane.
- 37:03If you get this wrong I'm calling it.
- 37:05I'm gonna say a whistle Not on my list.
- 37:09I don't think he ate that. So here we're other other
- 37:12possible answers. I will go through them.
- 37:15Quick balls. A blindfold, a box chains, a
- 37:21chair Checkers, a clock Sesame, Street's Emmy Award feathers
- 37:28film. A film canister, flashlight
- 37:32flowers. A frisbee, a frying pan a
- 37:36guitar. Hat, hot, dog, stand a toy
- 37:40house. That was previously.
- 37:42On top of Prairie, Dawn Kaleidoscope, lamp leaves a
- 37:48magic wand, a mailbox, a mattress.
- 37:52The moon painting. I like I guess I'll painting
- 37:57shade. I will give you back a point
- 37:58because poster and painting are closer and I counted that
- 38:02separately, but he didn't eat the pictures.
- 38:05He didn't, Stephen Colbert's Peabody Award a pillow, a
- 38:11pocketbook and Aretha. Franklin record ring, like a
- 38:17ring. A rock a speaker, a sponge, a
- 38:22spoon, a suitcase, a tray, a trophy, distinct from an Emmy,
- 38:29or a Peabody, a ukulele distinct from a guitar.
- 38:32A vacuum cleaner. Wires yarn a Yo-yo.
- 38:38And the thing that is like a computer but not a computer and
- 38:42Xbox 360, okay? Say a typewriter is like a
- 38:47computer. But there's refresh my memory
- 38:50but in Elmo and Grouchland doesn't he eat the jail bars?
- 38:54No not remembering. That movie correctly.
- 38:56No there there was a deleted scene where they he eats the
- 39:02keys that they were going to try and get out with.
- 39:08Oh, self-sabotaging Cookie Monster.
- 39:11Otherwise he has no purpose in that movie.
- 39:14He's funny. I'll tell he's funnier though.
- 39:18Yeah, so the Telly is 100 great Telly stuff.
- 39:22I mean I'm on the record is actually liking Elmo in
- 39:24Grouchland but you have that article in defense of it I do
- 39:28everyone should go read it right now, pause the episode, read the
- 39:33article and then come back. All right, so let's move into
- 39:36our final. Her rounds.
- 39:38Before we say goodnight, we would be remiss if we forgot
- 39:42about the most Thanksgiving thing of all the Macy's,
- 39:45Thanksgiving Day Parade in this round, which I call, I love a
- 39:50March, we are going to celebrate that famous annual event by
- 39:55answering questions, about the Muppets presence in the parade
- 39:58throughout the years. Each of these questions is worth
- 40:01two points as always wait until I finished asking the question
- 40:06to buzz in. So So everyone gets a chance to
- 40:08play along at home and A-One and a-two.
- 40:12And A-One, two, three, four question.
- 40:15One. Kermit, the Frog was the first
- 40:17Muppet balloon in the parade in what year did he debut?
- 40:25Matthew, would that be 1977? It is 1977 a good year for
- 40:31Kermit and a good year for Talking Heads.
- 40:34Question, 2, what are the other three Muppet characters who have
- 40:39had balloons in the parade? Now, we're getting closer.
- 40:46That is Matthew though, Super Grover.
- 40:51Abby Cadabby and the third one big bird.
- 40:55Correct. I was going to say Elmo but then
- 40:58I remembered as Elmo was escaping my mouth, that it was
- 41:01Big Bird, gather never worried. I was gonna say mr.
- 41:04Poodle pants. There never was an Elmo balloon,
- 41:08which is a little odd, considering how big he was in
- 41:14the 90s. Question 3, The Big Bird,
- 41:16balloon was redesigned in 2001. What was he holding in this
- 41:21version? Matthew symbols.
- 41:28It is symbols. Everyone knows Big.
- 41:30Bird loves playing the cymbals question, 4, 1976 was the second
- 41:36year there was a Sesame Street float.
- 41:39The Muppets on that float were a little unusual though, as the
- 41:42only ones who appeared were Big Bird, Oscar Ernie Bert and which
- 41:48Jerry Nelson character. Shane Rodeo Rosie.
- 41:56It was Rodeo Rosie. So weird question, 5 in 1979.
- 42:04Most of the usual, puppeteers were busy elsewhere.
- 42:07So new puppeteers had to be brought in for the Sesame float.
- 42:11What feature of the parade was? Keeping Jim Frank and everybody
- 42:14else busy Shane. They were on the Electric Mayhem
- 42:23bus. They absolutely were.
- 42:25I wish there were video of that. I have not seen that.
- 42:28Yeah, I haven't either maybe someone knows question six.
- 42:32Kevin Clash was one of the new puppeteers who was brought in,
- 42:36which Sesame Street Muppet, did he perform?
- 42:39And apparently blew out his voice in the process.
- 42:45Shane that would be the Cookie Monster, that is the Cookie
- 42:50Monster. I've heard of that guy.
- 42:52I hear he once ate an Xbox the the 2021 cookie month. 2022
- 42:56Cookie Monster as opposed to the 1989 Cookie Monster.
- 43:01Oh, I understand. Yes, with with Robert Pattinson
- 43:04as the Cookie Monster, and then you have like, the blue furry,
- 43:09the blue furry Rises like somewhere in there.
- 43:12Yeah, of course, of course. in seven, in 1984, the Sesame
- 43:17Street parade, float did not appear, which to Sesame Street
- 43:21Vehicles appeared instead Shane, Oscar, sloppy jalopy and the
- 43:30count mobile, correct? Because Follow That Bird came
- 43:34out that year, was that 84? I thought Follow That Bird came
- 43:37out in 85, it might have been in promotion of the movie cuz they
- 43:43probably wouldn't come out before November.
- 43:45Yeah, 85 question 8, in 2002, International Sesame Street
- 43:51characters appeared on the Sesame float.
- 43:54Because boy, did we Need to Foster respect for other
- 43:57countries in 2002, which appropriate Jeff Moss song.
- 44:01Did they sing that year? Matthew, I'm going to say saying
- 44:10no to Joe raposo so that is a joe raposo song, but it wasn't
- 44:14sing. Shane, do you have a guess?
- 44:16We are all earthlings. It was we are all earthlings.
- 44:20Question 9, despite rarely appearing on the show after
- 44:242000, which female Muppet was featured prominently in the
- 44:28parade for another eight years after that.
- 44:35Matthew, I'm going to say over heater, not over heater over
- 44:40about despite appearing, rarely on the show after 2000.
- 44:44Overheated doesn't Premiere until like right and as a 9.
- 44:48Um sorry. Good guess though, Shane.
- 44:51Do you have a guess that is Alice Snuffleupagus?
- 44:55It is Alice Snuffleupagus. She stuck around in the parade
- 44:58until 2008 and now we know why she wasn't in the relatives kit.
- 45:02Category. Correct question. 10 in 2016,
- 45:07the Muppet gang appeared. Pretty prominently in the parade
- 45:09kicking off. The event was a parody of one of
- 45:11their own songs, which Muppet song was Rewritten to celebrate
- 45:15the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Matthew, but is hey, a movie?
- 45:23That is, hey, a movie question 11, in 2013, Sesame Street, had
- 45:28an episode, where Oscar, the Grouch ran the trash, Giving Day
- 45:32Parade, which was sponsored by mr.
- 45:35Disgracey, that's a great pun. Anyway, which ironically named
- 45:41comedic actor, played this role. Shane that would be Bing Bong
- 45:50himself Richard. Kind it sure was the other
- 45:54Grasshopper And Bug's Life himself.
- 45:56Richard kind a guy from Spin City.
- 46:00John mulaney's guest star himself, Richard kind, what's he
- 46:06on the mulaney's that come no on sack lunch, Bunch.
- 46:11Oh, I haven't seen that yet. So in the theme song, Just
- 46:14There, being many guest stars. In the theme song, the only
- 46:18guest star, they name is Richard kind it's there's a whole verse
- 46:21that's like the guest stars name is Richard, kind question, 12.
- 46:27And let's not forget about our friends.
- 46:28The fraggles how many years did the fraggles appear in the
- 46:32Thanksgiving Day? Parade on a float.
- 46:38Matthew I'm gonna say one incorrect Shane.
- 46:43I'm going to say one plus one correct which for the people at
- 46:48home who don't have calculators that is too good.
- 46:51Good math. And speaking of math I got to do
- 46:54some arithmetic before the next game.
- 46:56So contestants get your questions ready.
- 46:58As I do some adding now it's time for you two to share your
- 47:04knowledge with me, I guess. Wait, actually, you've already.
- 47:08Why did I write that? You were doing that the whole
- 47:10time now. It's now it's time for you.
- 47:14Now, it's time for you two to ask some questions to me.
- 47:18That's really that in, I will. That's right.
- 47:21It's time for the anything in the world, prize game because
- 47:26you two are now able to ask me anything in the world or at
- 47:30least anything in the world of Muppets.
- 47:32If you stumped me, you'll earn 10 points.
- 47:36Our current Yours. Matthew, you have 57 points and
- 47:41shame. You have 68 points, you, you
- 47:45really pulled ahead on those relatives is where you really
- 47:50got Matthew. I remind you.
- 47:52Shane is Muppet Wiki personified.
- 47:55Well, listen, that's still pretty close. 57 has.
- 47:58I'll admit, I didn't think it would be this close.
- 48:00That's, that's not bad. So Matthew we're going to start
- 48:04with you. Do you have a question for me?
- 48:07I do. Yes, you did.
- 48:10Tell us that it was food and Family theme.
- 48:12So I did try and come up with a food-themed question.
- 48:15So, my trivia question to you is, as always, if you, if, you
- 48:19know my stuff, if you've read, if you've read my work, you've I
- 48:24have my interviews, you know, I'm a Disney Parks fan in 2020.
- 48:30The Muppets took over the restaurant at the American
- 48:33Adventure Pavilion at Epcot. To get, get Regal, Eagle
- 48:38Smokehouse. What was the name of the
- 48:41restaurant before? The Muppet?
- 48:43Take over the Great American cookout.
- 48:46That is incorrect. I have successfully stumped.
- 48:50You victory. Is mine.
- 48:51Well, that's 10 points. What is the right answer?
- 48:54The correct answer is Liberty in, hmm.
- 48:58Good question. Fair question.
- 49:00Makes me hungry. I haven't eaten dinner yet and
- 49:03Shane. Do you have a question for me
- 49:05that I do? So on The Muppet Show Marvin
- 49:10Suggs and his all food Glee Club audition performing.
- 49:14Yes we Have No Bananas during the instrumental break Marvin
- 49:19and the food's trade, some puns. What are the four foods that
- 49:24deliver food puns with him? So, I've seen this episode
- 49:28obviously, and it's very funny, but I do not know.
- 49:33So I'm going to see if I can, you know, yes, speaking of
- 49:36basketball, like three point this, you know, from from, from
- 49:40from downtown. Yeah.
- 49:42From downtown, like, Benny rabbit, I'm going to go downtown
- 49:46and then then shoot from there. Wow.
- 49:48That was, that was nerdy even for for this group second time
- 49:54in this season, I've made that joke potentially first time.
- 49:57Pending on when I choose to release these episodes.
- 50:00So let's see. A tomato the thing that's like
- 50:04an onion or scallion. It's green with like white
- 50:08things coming out of it. That's always there.
- 50:10Ali leak. That's maybe I don't know.
- 50:15You'll have to count that if I get this right otherwise grapes
- 50:21and broccoli. All right so it's not leak their
- 50:26Scalia. Ins.
- 50:27Okay, got it right. You got one of them, right?
- 50:30Okay, you got tomato. Okay.
- 50:33Marvin tells the Tomato they're slow and she says she will catch
- 50:38up. Hmm.
- 50:40I can do it this way. So the other foods are a
- 50:43cabbage, he's getting ahead. Hmm.
- 50:46The artichoke is singing his heart out.
- 50:48Yep. And the asparagus feels naked
- 50:51without his hollandaise. Wouldn't have gotten that last
- 50:54one even if you told me the vegetable, so, Ten points.
- 50:58And now it's time for me to make things even more difficult in
- 51:01our final round. Say the word.
- 51:05So, as you guys know in this round, you can wager any amount
- 51:09of points. The winner gets those points and
- 51:12the loser loses them. You will get to hear the
- 51:15question before you wager. So let's check the scores.
- 51:20Matthew you've got 67 points and Shane you have 78 points.
- 51:26So, Let's return to the Macy's. Thanksgiving Day Parade for this
- 51:30one or at least. Let's kind of return to that one
- 51:34Muppet part of the parade. I didn't mention was that in
- 51:371981 Beauregard appeared in the parade driving his taxi.
- 51:42This was not the Beauregard puppet.
- 51:44However, but Muppet Builder and designer Ed Christie in costume.
- 51:50While Ed Christie might not be a household name.
- 51:54He designed several major, Characters who were introduced
- 51:58to Sesame Street in the 90s and 2000's?
- 52:02Some of these are characters that you definitely know others,
- 52:07maybe not According to his credits on Muppet Wiki, there
- 52:12are six total characters. He designed for Sesame Street in
- 52:17the 90s and 2000's. You guys are going to name as
- 52:21many of those characters. As you can, whoever names more
- 52:26will win, the bet and win this round.
- 52:30You do not have to get all six. You just have to do better than
- 52:33the other one. So again, you are naming as many
- 52:38of these six. Sesame Street.
- 52:40Muppets designed by Ed Christy. They're all characters from the
- 52:4590s and the 2000s. Worst comes to worst just named
- 52:49six characters from the 90s and 2000's and see how you feel.
- 52:53You don't have to get them all to win, you just have to do
- 52:55better than the other person. Shane is entering his answer one
- 53:06at a time. That is fine.
- 53:11I was not aware that you had to put them all in at once.
- 53:14No, it's okay. I don't care.
- 53:18I make up the rules. But it's X.
- 53:22We have the name sex, right? Well if you can't think of six
- 53:25characters you could name fewer than six and tell me but we
- 53:28can't guess like more than six and a half.
- 53:31No, I'm not gonna let you guess more than sex.
- 53:34Okay. And I think you can at least
- 53:36Name six characters. Oh yes, I can.
- 53:40But yes, the question is, do you when they're all are these all
- 53:43domestic characters? Yes.
- 53:45I'm only counting domestic Sesame, Street characters.
- 53:48Great question because he did work a Lot on the international
- 53:50Productions. So neither of you successfully
- 53:59named all six characters, which admittedly would be impossible.
- 54:04Oops. However you both named six
- 54:08characters and some of these characters are correct.
- 54:12So, Matthew, how many points did you bet?
- 54:16I bet 12 points. And Shane, how many points did
- 54:19Bat, I bet one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
- 54:23nine, ten, eleven twelve as well.
- 54:27You guys are twins. Well, that's because Shane's not
- 54:29wearing his hat. Shame.
- 54:30Put your hat on there. Oh, they can't see that.
- 54:36Can they? Well, I can somebody called
- 54:38trivia Twins and that's us. We don't, we we both hate
- 54:43pepperoni. So Shane, would you like to read
- 54:47the six Muppets that you listed? I've 50 you're right five I
- 54:52miscounted. I said Rosita Zoe and then the
- 54:57squirrels which are three squirrels based on The Shirelles
- 55:02there are three squirrels based on The Shirelles because kids in
- 55:05the 90s loved The Shirelles and squirrels Matthew which six
- 55:11characters did you name? I put Murray monster Benny
- 55:15rabbit, ovejita Ingrid, Humphrey and So the six characters that
- 55:23according to Muppet Wiki Ed Christie, designed at this in
- 55:29this era are Abby, Cadabby, curly bear, Horatio, the
- 55:37elephant's Lulu, the short-lived female Muppet, female Muppet
- 55:43monster, who was blue and other than a be the other two
- 55:47best-known characters Rosita. And Zoe.
- 55:50I thought Abby was like a rolly crewson special.
- 55:53I'd like Zoe was Raleigh crewson according to Muppet Wiki.
- 55:57I mean, listen, unless you guys are wrong Shane but no i-i'll
- 56:02take the Wiki's word over it. I was just assuming that by that
- 56:06point at Christie kind of was not like around as much and
- 56:09Christie for Sesame Street 1978 to 2004.
- 56:15Abby Cadabby curly bear, Rosita Zoe the elephant Lulu.
- 56:19And he built Aristotle but that is before the 90s and also not
- 56:25designed built so assuming Muppet Wiki is, right?
- 56:28I mean and we have to I also forgot curly bear was real
- 56:33curly. Bear is real yet.
- 56:35Another sibling that I get another run that I left off for
- 56:39this reason for this reason because she was gonna show up
- 56:42here Scott if you want to confirm, but it looks like
- 56:46Raleigh crewson built, curly bear, but Ed Christie.
- 56:49Signed her. So with that our winner, this
- 56:55week and this week's toughest pig is Shane.
- 57:01I'm two for two. Congratulations.
