- 1:07Speaker 3: This is a podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Talking football, and they all wear a whistle.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect? It's a
- 1:17Speaker 5: podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:20Speaker 3: 25 Whistles.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Hello, everybody. Everybody online keeps saying I look like a lesbian.
- 1:27Speaker 1: They said that about you?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, blow the whistle. Yeah, I got you.
- 1:32Speaker 3: That's so rude.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes sense.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yeah. What are you going to do with that?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Nothing. Just let it grow. It's funny.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Just keep going?
- 1:40Speaker 5: For how long?
- 1:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It does look Rosie O'Donnell-ish. It's starting to finally, though,
- 1:46Speaker 1: come out a little bit. At this point, I'm just
- 1:48Speaker 1: doing it because people talk about it. I have no
- 1:52Speaker 1: reason to cut my hair. My agent said that I
- 1:55Speaker 1: should cut it, and I told him I'll cut it
- 1:56Speaker 1: when you get me a job. Nice.
- 1:58Speaker 5: There you go.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We're kind of in that standoff, too.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And he's like, I can't get you jobs as long
- 2:03Speaker 3: as you have that hair.
- 2:04Speaker 1: That's what he said. And I said, well, you didn't
- 2:06Speaker 1: get me jobs when I had the other hair. So
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'll keep knowing it until I feel like it. But
- 2:12Speaker 1: now if I post anything, it's the questions like you
- 2:17Speaker 1: look like a lesbian or high school gym teacher or
- 2:20Speaker 1: you look like are you trans?
- 2:22Speaker 3: I don't get the high school gym teacher.
- 2:24Speaker 1: A female high school gym teacher.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Got it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: So it's all female. You look like a woman.
- 2:28Speaker 1: But I said the joke first, so it can't hurt
- 2:31Speaker 1: me if I say it first. I was the first
- 2:33Speaker 1: one to make that joke. I look like Rosie meets
- 2:35Speaker 1: Rachel Maddow. I got it.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Rosie O'Donnell?
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Who do you think I meant?
- 2:40Speaker 3: Well, you said Rosie, and I'm like, Rosie.
- 2:41Speaker 1: What other Rosie would there be?
- 2:42Speaker 3: I have a cousin named Rosie.
- 2:43Speaker 5: I went to high school with a girl named Rosie.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, I didn't mean them, guys. Okay, okay. I didn't
- 2:50Speaker 1: mean them. My notes are a little more organized on
- 2:54Speaker 1: this episode. Usually I just come on and read them
- 2:55Speaker 1: straight down, and it would go from college, NFL, NFL college, whatever.
- 2:59Speaker 1: So first of all, I'm just going to start generic.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I got three categories of notes. I've got generic, then college,
- 3:06Speaker 1: then NFL.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Let's go generic first. I had a big betting weekend.
- 3:12Speaker 3: He's back.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I never left.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Well, you had some bad weeks there.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I had a successful week, and it was all because
- 3:19Speaker 1: of A.I., So the bets that I gave you, did
- 3:22Speaker 1: you hit?
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yes, I sure did. I put that as part of
- 3:26Speaker 5: a parlay, and I hit it on a parlay. That's amazing.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Beautiful.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Okay, well, then you hit other bets with that bet.
- 3:33Speaker 5: With it, yes.
- 3:34Speaker 1: The AI to me said, hey, your for sure bet
- 3:36Speaker 1: is to bet the under of the Arkansas-Tennessee game.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Out of all the college games.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Because I said, every bet's on the board. He goes,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's the one. And I said, are you sure you're
- 3:45Speaker 1: not just telling me that because I'm going to the game?
- 3:48Speaker 1: And it said, I am sure. And the other game
- 3:50Speaker 1: was Oklahoma plus seven and a half.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And so I hit both of those pretty hard. I
- 3:54Speaker 1: ended up making like 2,800 bucks this weekend.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Dang.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I was one Seattle Seahawk win away from a massive parlay.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And I'm never a, oh, I missed it by one guy.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But when you miss it by one and you miss
- 4:08Speaker 1: it by a quarter.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Of a yard.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 5: How much are you talking winning wise?
- 4:12Speaker 1: I would have won like 4,000 on that one bet.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. But it was like a $ 400 parlay. Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So how much money did you put down on it?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Are you listening to anything?
- 4:22Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. It's twice.
- 4:24Speaker 1: He just had $ 400. In the first three minutes.
- 4:26Speaker 3: How many legs, though?
- 4:28Speaker 1: You didn't ask that. You said, how much did I
- 4:29Speaker 1: put on it?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I'm trying to grasp it all, dude. This is a
- 4:31Speaker 3: lot of money.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We're dealing with. It was like a seven leg.
- 4:34Speaker 3: A seven leg? You put $ 400 on that?
- 4:36Speaker 1: And I missed it by just Seattle. Oh, my.
- 4:38Speaker 3: And that's from AI? Was that AI, too? No, that's me. Oh,
- 4:41Speaker 3: I lost.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true.
- 4:42Speaker 3: No, that's not true. AI gave me Seattle.
- 4:45Speaker 1: But mine didn't.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Well, mine did. It's probably the same people.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It's not people.
- 4:50Speaker 3: The same AI person.
- 4:51Speaker 4: It's not.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You're probably using either Google or ChatGPT.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I did chat.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Have you downloaded the app yet?
- 4:57Speaker 6: No, no.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And it keeps trying to get me to sign on,
- 4:59Speaker 3: and I'm like, I'm not signing on.
- 5:00Speaker 1: So it doesn't even know you.
- 5:02Speaker 4: No.
- 5:02Speaker 3: And I like it that way.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Come on, Eddie.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Get on board, man.
- 5:05Speaker 4: No.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Okay, my other generic question. Do you think the Cowboys
- 5:09Speaker 1: are good, medium, or bad?
- 5:13Speaker 3: Right now, they are bad. Yeah, they're not even medium.
- 5:17Speaker 3: They're pretty bad. Because the defense is really bad, and
- 5:21Speaker 3: now the offense is kind of following suit, and they're
- 5:23Speaker 3: playing bad.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Right now, how far do you think the Cowboys will go?
- 5:29Speaker 3: ChatGBT said they have a 1% chance of winning the
- 5:33Speaker 3: Super Bowl. I think we can still win some games.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I still think we can win the division. Um, New
- 5:43Speaker 3: York's playing really well, but I still think we can
- 5:45Speaker 3: win that division.
- 5:46Speaker 1: What percentage chance do you give the Cowboys to win
- 5:51Speaker 1: the Super Bowl or get there?
- 5:52Speaker 3: No, to win the Super Bowl. I already asked it. 1%.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I don't think it's like a central hub though.
- 5:59Speaker 3: What do you mean? Oh, oh, AI. Like yours is
- 6:01Speaker 3: different than mine.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, also things can change from the time that you
- 6:04Speaker 1: asked it as well. Uh, so then it, but it's
- 6:07Speaker 1: only checking like Super Bowl odds and converting them to
- 6:09Speaker 1: an implied percentage.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Oh, it's not thinking for itself?
- 6:12Speaker 1: Not here. It's just doing a lot of research for it. So, yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 1: so the Cowboys are.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Bad. Right now we're bad. Yeah, but I think we
- 6:21Speaker 3: can beat the Packers. Like, it's one of those things where, like, yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 3: it's bad. And I keep thinking, too, like, if they
- 6:27Speaker 3: just keep working... I know they don't have the personnel
- 6:31Speaker 3: on the defense. We're really hurt, and there's a lot
- 6:33Speaker 3: of people they're dealing with, their injuries. But if they
- 6:36Speaker 3: could keep working, they could get better. But they're not
- 6:39Speaker 3: getting better right now. So I don't know.
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's all about how hard they work.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 1: That's such a high school way to think about pro sports.
- 6:46Speaker 3: What do you mean? They don't do that in pro?
- 6:48Speaker 1: You're like the guy who just says, man, if they
- 6:50Speaker 1: just step up this year. It means nothing.
- 6:53Speaker 3: It's not their ability. They're all great athletes.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's either their ability or it's the scheme that they're
- 6:59Speaker 1: running matched with their ability. It's not about working hard.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I think it's the scheme. No, I'm talking about working
- 7:03Speaker 3: in the drawing board room.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Okay, this is him just saying stuff now.
- 7:06Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, this
- 7:08Speaker 3: is them. Let's get in the meetings. Let's figure out
- 7:10Speaker 3: this deal. How are you going to stop the Packers?
- 7:12Speaker 1: Just step up. They just got to step up a
- 7:13Speaker 1: little more next week.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I think it's more coaching than it is the players.
- 7:18Speaker 1: But that's not working hard.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I'm saying everyone needs to work hard.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Coaches, too. Good point, good point, good point.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Coaches, too. Staff, cheerleaders, everyone.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Guys working the concessions?
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yes.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Well, not them. They're pretty good.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Guy's yelling at Dak Prescott in the back.
- 7:32Speaker 3: He was a driver, man. I don't even know what
- 7:34Speaker 3: that guy was doing.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I'd give Dallas about a 3% chance to win the
- 7:37Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Today's best sportsbook price is plus $ 3, 000, which
- 7:40Speaker 1: implies roughly 3.2% before the sportsbook's margin.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Wow. Yours is more optimistic.
- 7:46Speaker 1: You don't have it in your name, so it doesn't
- 7:48Speaker 1: care that much. You're just a generic passerby. You're a
- 7:50Speaker 1: ship in the night.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I am. I am.
- 7:51Speaker 1: You're a ship in the night to it. You know
- 7:54Speaker 1: the meter they show, the sound meter at games? Mm-hmm.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So they had one at the Arkansas game? Yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Oh, no. Yeah, and I'm just wondering, like, does it
- 8:02Speaker 3: really have a sensor or is it lying to us?
- 8:07Speaker 1: Is it on the video board?
- 8:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Like, it's all over the stadium. So I'm thinking, like,
- 8:11Speaker 3: when I see it, I definitely go like, okay, well,
- 8:13Speaker 3: let's work on this, guys. Let's go.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Work harder.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Yeah, work harder.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, work harder. Like, let's move that meter.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 3: But my question is, is there really a sensor reading our...
- 8:23Speaker 3: Our loudness.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I would think no. I would think there's possibly in
- 8:29Speaker 1: some places just a human that's able to move it
- 8:31Speaker 1: up and down a little more if they feel like
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's getting louder.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Oh.
- 8:34Speaker 1: But for the most part, I think it's probably just
- 8:35Speaker 1: a set graphic that goes up.
- 8:38Speaker 5: It's just a video they play.
- 8:38Speaker 3: That's stupid. So we'll never reach it? Because, like, I've
- 8:41Speaker 3: been to places where we never even get close. Like,
- 8:45Speaker 3: Cowboy Stadium, dude, we never get close to that meter. Like,
- 8:48Speaker 3: it goes from, like, yellow, green, red. We never get
- 8:51Speaker 3: close to red.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Hmm.
- 8:52Speaker 5: That's kind of on the Cowboys, isn't it?
- 8:54Speaker 3: Just got to work harder.
- 8:56Speaker 5: To be like, guys, maybe we should make this better.
- 8:58Speaker 3: What a scam.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Eddie thinks we have a problem in college football. Yes.
- 9:02Speaker 3: And I got this, and I've thought it before, but
- 9:05Speaker 3: it kind of like solidified when we were in Arkansas.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I feel like we forget as fans that we're really
- 9:12Speaker 3: putting so much pressure on these kids. Like these college players,
- 9:16Speaker 3: these are kids. Some are 18 years old, 19 year
- 9:19Speaker 3: old kids. And we're like, you idiot. Like, how did
- 9:23Speaker 3: you miss that field goal? Because if I put my
- 9:26Speaker 3: 18 year old in that pressure cooker right now, he
- 9:30Speaker 3: would crumble. Like if there are kids, these aren't NFL players.
- 9:34Speaker 3: And I think we're going a little, our expectations for
- 9:36Speaker 3: them to play the way we want them to, because
- 9:38Speaker 3: we're just fans. I just don't think it's fair.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I think two points anti that is that one, NBA
- 9:45Speaker 1: has kids playing at 18, 19 years old. Pro.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Sure.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Pro ball.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Few, few, but yes.
- 9:51Speaker 1: No, many 19-year-olds because now you go in for one year,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you're out. So not a few. Almost everybody in the
- 9:57Speaker 1: draft in the first round, 19 or 20.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Secondly, baseball, there are 18, 19-year-olds.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Football is just the only sport where they're still in college. However,
- 10:07Speaker 1: they're still getting paid. So they're actually professionals. Also, I
- 10:11Speaker 1: never heard anybody call them idiots, even while we were there,
- 10:13Speaker 1: except for you.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Not idiots, but like, God, they're so frustrated with like
- 10:18Speaker 3: a pass that they threw. Like, wait, what are you thinking?
- 10:22Speaker 3: He's 18.
- 10:23Speaker 1: But so are the other professional sport athletes. They're already
- 10:25Speaker 1: playing professional sports. And this is now professional sports because
- 10:28Speaker 1: they're getting paid as professionals.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I know. We just have to keep in mind that
- 10:32Speaker 3: these are the kids that were really wanting to play perfect.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Do you think that about the 19-year-olds that play for
- 10:37Speaker 1: the Spurs?
- 10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Because they're professionals. You know, like the college level, they're
- 10:44Speaker 3: still in that early level. They're still young. But they're
- 10:49Speaker 3: the same age. I know, but I feel like, you know,
- 10:52Speaker 3: you know how some athletes are better because their brains
- 10:54Speaker 3: are better?
- 10:55Speaker 1: So basketball players' brains develop?
- 10:56Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no. Their minds are stronger. Like,
- 10:59Speaker 3: you know, like all that negativity just rolls off their
- 11:02Speaker 3: back like a duck.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be specific to the person, not specific to
- 11:05Speaker 1: the sport?
- 11:06Speaker 3: I just think in college, yep, they're all that age.
- 11:10Speaker 3: In NBA, they're kind of sprinkled in with LeBron's, who's
- 11:12Speaker 3: a grandfather. And young people. It's sprinkled with all kinds
- 11:17Speaker 3: of ages.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Can we yell at a 21-year-old, you idiot, in college?
- 11:20Speaker 3: No, 21, you're an adult, dude. You're drinking beer already.
- 11:22Speaker 1: In college, though.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you can yell at them. But a rookie quarterback,
- 11:26Speaker 3: that's tough, man.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Rookie?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Like, or not a rookie quarterback. You know what I'm
- 11:31Speaker 3: talking about? A freshman quarterback. Like, that's tough on them. Like,
- 11:35Speaker 3: last year, they were just throwing, they were playing in
- 11:39Speaker 3: high school under Friday Night Lights. And then now they've
- 11:43Speaker 3: made it up to the, you know, college level, but
- 11:45Speaker 3: they're still young, and people are just yelling at them.
- 11:47Speaker 1: What are your thoughts?
- 11:49Speaker 5: I mean, I see where he's coming from, but to
- 11:50Speaker 5: your point, now they're getting paid. So a five-star quarterback
- 11:53Speaker 5: is getting paid $ 2 million to come to your school
- 11:55Speaker 5: and play.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Guess what?
- 11:56Speaker 5: You got to perform.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And that five-star kid's the same age as the kid
- 11:59Speaker 1: that got drafted in the first round of the NBA,
- 12:00Speaker 1: for the most part, that's already playing NBA ball.
- 12:03Speaker 3: There you go.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Or the Dominican kid who came up quick, who's playing
- 12:06Speaker 1: for the Mariners now at 19, 20 years old.
- 12:08Speaker 3: They don't know his age, do they?
- 12:10Speaker 1: No, it's a good point.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I don't have a license on that one.
- 12:13Speaker 1: All right, let's break down some stuff here. All right,
- 12:18Speaker 1: first off, college. The fact that Elko went after the
- 12:24Speaker 1: Texas Ags message board he must have just been so
- 12:28Speaker 1: on tilt. Because Texas A & M lost again. And
- 12:32Speaker 1: it wasn't pretty. And he says, hey, we appreciate the
- 12:35Speaker 1: fans that support us, but those that call us fans
- 12:39Speaker 1: and they get on the message board, they're a cesspool. Yeah.
- 12:45Speaker 1: All of the PR team at Texas A & M,
- 12:48Speaker 1: the football team, they had.
- 12:48Speaker 3: To be like, what are you doing?
- 12:52Speaker 1: I haven't seen any sort of damage control today although
- 12:58Speaker 1: i haven't looked at a lot today i'm not sure
- 12:59Speaker 1: if he came out and said he didn't mean it
- 13:01Speaker 1: or he got caught up in the moment i don't
- 13:03Speaker 1: know but that's one of the big losers today i've
- 13:07Speaker 1: had to pick one yeah and i like elko but
- 13:09Speaker 1: texas a & m is struggling and you don't want
- 13:12Speaker 1: to you can even say all the online garbage happening
- 13:18Speaker 1: is not us but man when you call out a
- 13:20Speaker 1: specific person and message board especially one that's so passionate
- 13:23Speaker 1: about the school, that had a big part of him
- 13:25Speaker 1: even getting that job there. That's brutal. Alabama loses. And
- 13:31Speaker 1: there was a point in the game where one of
- 13:33Speaker 1: those guys was coming off the field. I think it
- 13:34Speaker 1: was after the personal foul. He punched him.
- 13:37Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 1: And DeBoer says, you lost a game, like screaming at him.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And he was trying not to look at him. And
- 13:44Speaker 1: I think Clinton Ha Ha Dix was there and grabbed
- 13:46Speaker 1: him and said, look at the coach while he's yelling
- 13:47Speaker 1: at you. And people were going, I would never let
- 13:50Speaker 1: him talk to my kid like that. Okay, your kid
- 13:52Speaker 1: would not be coachable enough to play for Alabama.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought that was awesome.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I did too.
- 13:56Speaker 5: By ha-ha, Clinton Dix and just everybody's, hey, part of it.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Because that kid was not looking at coach.
- 14:02Speaker 1: No, he was walking off.
- 14:02Speaker 3: He was trying to just get to the bench.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he was walking off. I had no problem with it.
- 14:06Speaker 4: No.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Again, you're being paid millions of dollars. But Eddie doesn't
- 14:09Speaker 1: want him yelled at because he's a kid. That's true.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And think about that.
- 14:12Speaker 3: By the fans, not the coach.
- 14:14Speaker 1: The coach is screaming right in his face.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Anything worse than what the fans could have yelled there.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but the fans, it's different. Don't get me started
- 14:19Speaker 3: on that. I already went on my rant. But you
- 14:22Speaker 3: know what? Everyone's blaming the PI call. I think that
- 14:26Speaker 3: was the bad call.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Well, that's one that absolutely could have... It was ridiculous
- 14:32Speaker 1: to see it happen. It was straight.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Double punch right in the face.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 1: First one really didn't get seen. The second one knocked
- 14:37Speaker 1: him out.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Not literally, but... Yeah, hit him hard.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I had no problem with DeBoer yelling at him like that.
- 14:44Speaker 1: You also know what kind of coach you're playing for
- 14:46Speaker 1: at this point in the season.
- 14:48Speaker 4: And.
- 14:49Speaker 1: It was just funny to see everyone go, my kid
- 14:50Speaker 1: would never play for him. Yeah, your kid would never
- 14:51Speaker 1: play for him.
- 14:53Speaker 3: You're like, you're right.
- 14:53Speaker 1: You're right. Yeah, couldn't be more right.
- 14:55Speaker 5: And they're also top five in the country for a reason.
- 14:58Speaker 5: So if you're at home watching that as a recruit,
- 15:00Speaker 5: you're like, that's, as a parent, you're probably like, that's
- 15:03Speaker 5: who I want my kid to play for.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And can coaches in the NFL not do that? Because
- 15:07Speaker 3: I would love for Shoddy to do that.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Coaches in the NFL don't do that because you're dealing
- 15:10Speaker 1: with the grown men making millions and millions of dollars.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But, I mean, occasionally they do. Every once in a
- 15:17Speaker 1: while you see like a, All the Ryans. All the
- 15:24Speaker 1: Buddy Ryans. All the Ryans. Screaming people. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Peter, Sean, Ron, Rex.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I mean, even the dad. The dad's Buddy, right?
- 15:38Speaker 3: Old Oilers coach.
- 15:39Speaker 1: That was also like back in the day, Dave. The
- 15:41Speaker 1: football season is heating up and every week feels bigger

- 16:45Speaker 2: varies by state.
- 16:52Speaker 1: LSU fans hate Lane Kiffin now. They have two losses already.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not good.
- 16:57Speaker 1: They were expecting a national championship this year because they
- 16:59Speaker 1: had money to actually go out and get the tools
- 17:03Speaker 1: and the talent they needed. So LSU's schedule for the
- 17:07Speaker 1: rest of the year, I don't think they can lose
- 17:09Speaker 1: three games and get in.
- 17:12Speaker 4: No.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Do you?
- 17:13Speaker 5: No, especially the way that the SEC is this year.
- 17:15Speaker 5: There's some dang good teams.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Arkansas.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Vandy.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Vandy.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Mississippi State.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Hey, they're not bad.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Who?
- 17:25Speaker 1: Mississippi State.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 5: No, they're not, but I just... We got to the bottom.
- 17:29Speaker 5: We got to go up some at some point.
- 17:32Speaker 1: So, I'd put Auburn bad before Mississippi State.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Okay, good one.
- 17:36Speaker 1: LSU plays Mississippi State next in Baton Rouge. Then they
- 17:40Speaker 1: play Auburn. So, Mississippi State game will probably be pretty tough.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 1: They should beat Auburn. Then they play LSU.
- 17:46Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Then they play Alabama. Then they play Texas.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Oof.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Then they play Tennessee, then they play Arkansas. I mean,
- 17:54Speaker 1: there's at least one more loss there, maybe two.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And if he doesn't make the playoffs, that is a
- 18:00Speaker 1: massive failure to them.
- 18:01Speaker 5: And it's really Sam Leavitt. Like, when you watch LSU,
- 18:04Speaker 5: that guy's all over the place. He's fun to watch,
- 18:07Speaker 5: but there's so many times in a game where you're like, dude,
- 18:10Speaker 5: just pump the brakes a little bit, calm down, and
- 18:13Speaker 5: just don't go so crazy.
- 18:15Speaker 1: We'll talk more college football coming up in a few
- 18:16Speaker 1: minutes with John Talti. NFL notes.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Ugh.
- 18:20Speaker 1: The London game was pretty good. That crowd, though, as
- 18:24Speaker 1: much as Jacksonville is supposed to be the home team,
- 18:27Speaker 1: it was very pro-Eagles.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Very pro-Eagles.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and how about former Arkansas Razorback Cam Little?
- 18:32Speaker 5: Man, is he the best kicker in the league now?
- 18:34Speaker 3: I think so.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I think he's the farthest kicker in the league. I
- 18:38Speaker 1: think he's got the best leg that you'd try from...
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean, that 70-yarder he tried to make two weeks
- 18:43Speaker 1: ago that he missed? Yeah. It had the leg.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I don't know if he's the best kicker, but he's
- 18:48Speaker 1: definitely in the conversation as one of the The kickers
- 18:50Speaker 1: you'd like to see kick with the game on the line.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Every time I see him kick or do something cool,
- 18:54Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, we hung out.
- 18:55Speaker 3: With that guy. We did. We know him.
- 18:57Speaker 1: The Eagles kid was crying at the end of the game.
- 18:59Speaker 1: That was bad. Ever cry at the end of a game?
- 19:02Speaker 4: No.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Like at home?
- 19:05Speaker 5: Like for my team losing?
- 19:06Speaker 3: For your loss.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Me as a player or as a fan?
- 19:09Speaker 1: As a fan.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Okay, no.
- 19:11Speaker 3: You? No, no tears, but like pretty close.
- 19:14Speaker 1: As a kid when the Bengals lost Super Bowl, I cried.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Really?
- 19:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I was a big Boomer Esiason fan. And I remember
- 19:19Speaker 1: crying when the Bengals lost the Super Bowl.
- 19:21Speaker 5: How old were you?
- 19:22Speaker 1: I'd need to look back, but if I'm guessing, like
- 19:24Speaker 1: 9 or 10. Turns out 17. This is two years ago.
- 19:31Speaker 1: What a crazy game, though.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Looking back now, why they kicked the line drive, I
- 19:38Speaker 1: don't know. Could have kicked it out of the end zone.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Should not have let them return the ball.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Because then you have to throw a Hail Mary.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and it just seemed like I mean, eight seconds?
- 19:50Speaker 1: It was very close to the Cowboys.
- 19:52Speaker 3: The Ravens.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Ravens. But the Ravens did throw the ball and have
- 19:55Speaker 1: a play that they connected before a kick.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 19:57Speaker 1: This was just a run. And had they tackled them,
- 19:59Speaker 1: I don't know, seven yards pre or five yards later,
- 20:04Speaker 1: the time would run out or they wouldn't have been
- 20:05Speaker 1: in field goal range. Yeah.
- 20:07Speaker 5: It has to go like perfect. And it did.
- 20:11Speaker 1: So that's number one. The Eagles, by the way, were 97%
- 20:13Speaker 1: to win in the last minute two weeks in a row.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Dang.
- 20:16Speaker 1: And lost. So, okay, there's notes on that. I thought
- 20:21Speaker 1: the Packers uniforms were cool.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I thought they were cool, too.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Very cool.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Not sure what they represented or what era they represented.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I don't like it as much as I like it
- 20:31Speaker 1: when they wore, like, the corn stalks in their heads.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Those are fun ones.
- 20:35Speaker 3: It was like, you know, remember back in the day
- 20:37Speaker 3: when you could adjust the TV?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Like, and move the tint and the contrast. That's like
- 20:41Speaker 3: if you took all the color off just a little bit.
- 20:45Speaker 1: It was cool. Commanders and Giants.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. What on earth?
- 20:49Speaker 1: What an ending. Yikes.
- 20:50Speaker 3: And who do we blame for that one?
- 20:53Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you have to blame Jaden Daniels.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Although coach came out and say it was all me.
- 20:59Speaker 1: That's what the coach is supposed to say. There was
- 21:01Speaker 1: just no urgency. And he's got it. No, even if
- 21:04Speaker 1: nobody has said anything to him to spike the ball.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Because as soon as that play was over, it was, ho-dee-hum, okay,
- 21:10Speaker 1: we'll give out ho-dee-hum, ho-dee-hum.
- 21:12Speaker 3: It didn't look like he was even thinking about getting
- 21:15Speaker 3: up quickly.
- 21:16Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 21:17Speaker 5: It looked like it was the middle of the second quarter.
- 21:19Speaker 3: So did he think he had a timeout?
- 21:23Speaker 1: If he did, he shouldn't have. I mean, that's the point.
- 21:26Speaker 1: And ties are hilarious. So I thought that was pretty hilarious.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I did bet a new future because I wanted much money.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So anytime I win, I throw money on a future.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Can I guess it?
- 21:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Bengals.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Chiefs.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Super Bowl.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Chiefs. 200 bucks on the Chiefs. I think they're like
- 21:43Speaker 1: 11 to 1 or something. So it'd be worth like
- 21:44Speaker 1: 2,300 bucks or something.
- 21:45Speaker 3: That'd be nice.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I did that. And I had a note that JSN
- 21:50Speaker 1: is now in the mix with. Jamar Chase and Justin
- 21:53Speaker 1: Jefferson to me is like the best receiver in the NFL.
- 21:55Speaker 1: And then he dropped that pass.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I mean, I put that in my phone right before
- 21:58Speaker 1: he dropped that ball.
- 21:59Speaker 3: And then Jamar is just making these catches that look
- 22:02Speaker 3: like have no chance being caught.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 3: So like, he's just going way up, way up to
- 22:07Speaker 3: number one for me.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I mean, JSN is as good as Jamar Chase and
- 22:10Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson now. That was just a bad drop.
- 22:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And how he gets open, he's not even as large
- 22:17Speaker 1: as the other two guys.
- 22:18Speaker 5: And he breaks all those tackles.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 5: He's so good.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He's so good. Then I had a note on the
- 22:24Speaker 1: Cooper Cup first down that he did not get. I
- 22:26Speaker 1: just don't think they could see an actual angle that
- 22:30Speaker 1: said he got the first down. I don't think anything
- 22:32Speaker 1: proved he didn't get that first down. But there wasn't
- 22:34Speaker 1: an angle they kept showing going, we don't have an
- 22:36Speaker 1: angle right down the sideline. How of all the angles
- 22:38Speaker 1: do you not have an angle right down the sideline?
- 22:40Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:41Speaker 5: I don't understand how we still don't have that.
- 22:43Speaker 3: That should be a required angle at every game.
- 22:45Speaker 1: You should have those pylon cams.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, looking all the way down. And be the angle.
- 22:49Speaker 1: You have cameras on them already. Why not put one
- 22:52Speaker 1: looking both directions? And they just moved on so quick
- 22:55Speaker 1: from it.
- 22:55Speaker 3: It was like, okay.
- 22:57Speaker 1: There's the last to lose a zero. So it's which
- 23:01Speaker 1: team either loses or wins first. So you have San Francisco,
- 23:04Speaker 1: they're 5-0. They're playing Washington, then Atlanta, then they have
- 23:09Speaker 1: a bye.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Dang.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Kansas City, 4-0. They're playing the Chargers, then the Seahawks,
- 23:15Speaker 1: then the Broncos. You have the Vikings at 5-0 because
- 23:19Speaker 1: they won again. Crazy.
- 23:22Speaker 5: No idea how.
- 23:24Speaker 1: The Vikings have a bye, and then the Colts and
- 23:27Speaker 1: the Lions. So of those three teams, probably the Chiefs
- 23:31Speaker 1: lose first.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Just because... Seattle. Yeah, Seattle, then Denver, but yeah, Seattle, probably.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Then if you go to the 0-5 teams, the Chargers
- 23:44Speaker 1: play the Chiefs. They won't win there. Abai, they won't
- 23:47Speaker 1: win there. The Rams, they won't win there. Dude, they're
- 23:51Speaker 1: going to be 0-7.
- 23:52Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 23:54Speaker 1: The Titans, they play the Colts. I think they could possibly....
- 24:00Speaker 3: It could be a game?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Possibly. I don't know what the line is there. They
- 24:04Speaker 1: will not be the favorite. But I think they could
- 24:08Speaker 1: surprise their... The Colts, then they play the Browns and
- 24:11Speaker 1: the Bengals. And then the Dolphins, they're 0-5. The Bide,
- 24:14Speaker 1: the Jets, and the Patriots. I think the first team
- 24:16Speaker 1: to lose 0 will probably be Kansas City at 4-0.
- 24:19Speaker 1: What do you see on the line on the Titans
- 24:22Speaker 1: and Colts? Colts minus 7 at home. Man, that is
- 24:25Speaker 1: a hefty number there.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 24:28Speaker 1: A little bit, Cam Ward looked okay at times. Like
- 24:31Speaker 1: he did some of those, woo, freewheeling. They're so bad.
- 24:36Speaker 1: If you could just do a little more of those.
- 24:38Speaker 1: But the problem is he does eight of those, and
- 24:40Speaker 1: two of them look good, and the other six end
- 24:41Speaker 1: up being disasters or sacks. Yeah. So, yeah, they're so bad.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Between them and the Dolphins. I mean, those are the
- 24:49Speaker 1: two teams that are just hopeless.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Hard to watch.
- 24:52Speaker 5: And then the Chargers are still, I mean. Do you
- 24:54Speaker 5: think anything has to do with Madison Beer? Honest question.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I don't think it's the Justin Herbert thing.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I mean, it looks like he's running for his life
- 25:01Speaker 3: every snap. So, I think it's the whole line, right?
- 25:04Speaker 5: His whole career he's been doing that.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Yeah. It's got to be weird for Mike McDonald to
- 25:09Speaker 1: go in, was a head coach, now is the offensive coordinator,
- 25:14Speaker 1: but there's a lot of attention on him because, well,
- 25:16Speaker 1: he wants a lot of attention. It's funny. Wears clothes
- 25:18Speaker 1: a little different.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Shades.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Big innovator. And then just sucks.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Just sucks. So, okay, those are all my notes. The

- 26:55Speaker 1: to start first with the game where you were, because
- 26:57Speaker 1: you were, were you in Tuscaloosa? Is that right?
- 27:00Speaker 5: Yeah, Georgia, Alabama.
- 27:01Speaker 1: How'd that go?
- 27:02Speaker 4: Well, it was a rainy, gross day, but the actual game,
- 27:06Speaker 4: I mean, it was good. I mean, I don't know
- 27:07Speaker 4: that it blew you away in terms of like excitement
- 27:11Speaker 4: and things like that, but two hard, you know, hard
- 27:14Speaker 4: fart game between two really talented teams and, you know,
- 27:17Speaker 4: Georgia was my pick going into that game. So I
- 27:19Speaker 4: wasn't shocked by the end result, but the, you know,
- 27:22Speaker 4: two teams that you imagine will be competing deep into
- 27:25Speaker 4: this season. Um, just based on what we saw Saturday night. Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I was going to ask you if you felt like
- 27:30Speaker 1: they both deserve to have pretty decent seeds whenever the
- 27:33Speaker 1: playoffs happen.
- 27:34Speaker 5: For sure.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Georgia is my number one at this point. Um, I've
- 27:37Speaker 4: wanted to make them number one for a while. I'm
- 27:39Speaker 4: sure we might get into Texas later. Uh, but you know,
- 27:41Speaker 4: Texas had the best resume. So that's why I had
- 27:43Speaker 4: them number one, but Georgia had been playing better than them.
- 27:46Speaker 4: So I think with that win over Bama, you put
- 27:48Speaker 4: Georgia one. And I think Bama, you can still have
- 27:51Speaker 4: in that top five, six range right now. We'll see
- 27:54Speaker 4: kind of how they finish with Tennessee up next. But
- 27:58Speaker 4: based on what we've seen so far, they are one
- 28:00Speaker 4: of those top six or so teams and have a
- 28:03Speaker 4: resume that is pretty strong, which included that win at
- 28:05Speaker 4: Mississippi State the week prior.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Your article at CBSSports.com was about the Alabama quarterback, Keelan Russell,
- 28:11Speaker 1: waiting for Gunnar Stockton. I saw the picture before I
- 28:15Speaker 1: saw your article. What exactly was happening there that was noteworthy?
- 28:19Speaker 5: I loved it.
- 28:19Speaker 4: I just thought it was a cool moment, especially with
- 28:22Speaker 4: a young kid. I mean, Keelan's only 19 years old
- 28:24Speaker 4: in his first year starting. And he sat and waited
- 28:28Speaker 4: to talk to Gunnar Stockton for minutes. I mean, I
- 28:30Speaker 4: was standing there, too. I mean, it probably was not
- 28:33Speaker 4: as long as I thought. But when you're sitting there
- 28:35Speaker 4: waiting on someone, it feels extra long. And I mean,
- 28:37Speaker 4: he was waiting for at least a few minutes as
- 28:39Speaker 4: Gunnar wrapped up his interview with ESPN and he just
- 28:43Speaker 4: wanted to go over and congratulate him and, you know,
- 28:45Speaker 4: give him kind of a shout out for how he played.
- 28:47Speaker 4: But what I thought was maybe most amazing about it
- 28:50Speaker 4: was that they didn't know each other. I mean, this
- 28:52Speaker 4: is not a situation where it's like, all right, if
- 28:53Speaker 4: I saw you after winning an award, I'd want to
- 28:56Speaker 4: wait to congratulate you. They didn't know each other at
- 28:58Speaker 4: all prior to this game. So I just thought it
- 29:00Speaker 4: was a cool moment for Keelan, like losing a really
- 29:02Speaker 4: tough game, but they had a great shot to win
- 29:05Speaker 4: and him wanting to go out of his way to
- 29:07Speaker 4: congratulate Gunnar. And even Gunnar was kind of impressed, like
- 29:10Speaker 4: basically like I need to be doing more of this
- 29:12Speaker 4: kind of thing. And that's like super impressive coming from
- 29:14Speaker 4: such a young player as Keelan is.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I have friends in the country music world that are
- 29:18Speaker 1: massive Georgia Bulldog fans. And one of them texts me.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I wasn't able to, we were flying back from the
- 29:23Speaker 1: Arkansas game. So we were just kind of watching a
- 29:25Speaker 1: bit of it on our phones as we were flying.
- 29:26Speaker 1: But he messaged me. He said, man, it was great
- 29:28Speaker 1: to get out of Tuscaloosa with a win, but I
- 29:29Speaker 1: hated that pass interference call. So was that a call
- 29:34Speaker 1: that changed the game or was it just a call
- 29:36Speaker 1: that happened at the end of the game?
- 29:38Speaker 5: I think it's both. I was right. on the sideline.
- 29:40Speaker 4: That happened right in front of me. It certainly felt
- 29:42Speaker 4: like pass interference. It felt like people were going to
- 29:45Speaker 4: start throwing stuff on the field. I don't think it
- 29:47Speaker 4: played out as badly as I felt in that moment.
- 29:49Speaker 4: But it was so loud, and people were so mad
- 29:52Speaker 4: about what definitely felt like a pass interference call. But
- 29:54Speaker 4: as you know, Bob, there's hundreds of little things that
- 29:57Speaker 4: can happen in a game. And the later it happens
- 30:00Speaker 4: in the game, the more... it feels. And with them driving,
- 30:04Speaker 4: you know, that pass interference call would have made him
- 30:07Speaker 4: closer to possibly scoring, maybe going up in the game.
- 30:09Speaker 4: And instead they, aren't able to score they have to
- 30:13Speaker 4: punt and then george is able to run out the
- 30:15Speaker 4: clock so it was an impactful play in the game
- 30:17Speaker 4: but it wasn't the only one i mean there were
- 30:19Speaker 4: multiple plays that felt like the calls felt iffy there
- 30:23Speaker 4: was an interception earlier that you know alabama had an
- 30:25Speaker 4: interception then it got overruled to not being interception fans
- 30:29Speaker 4: were mad about that so depreciating as a whole i
- 30:31Speaker 4: think was a bit shaky but that call at the
- 30:33Speaker 4: end was certainly impactful um even if it's not necessarily
- 30:37Speaker 4: the reason why alabama lost the game all.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Right we'll shift gears What's Lane Kiffin thinking today?
- 30:42Speaker 4: I don't think he's thrilled with how it played out.
- 30:45Speaker 4: I mean, two losses already. This is a guy who
- 30:49Speaker 4: came in with huge expectations, as we've talked about in
- 30:52Speaker 4: the show previously, 50 million or so roster. And LSU fans,
- 30:57Speaker 4: I mean, just from what I saw on social media,
- 31:00Speaker 4: talking to some LSU fans in my life, this is
- 31:02Speaker 4: the danger of things going poorly at a place like
- 31:04Speaker 4: LSU compared to Ole Miss or other places like LSU.
- 31:07Speaker 4: they will start turning on you faster than maybe you expect.
- 31:10Speaker 4: And so to lose on the road to Kentucky was
- 31:14Speaker 4: a tough one. And I think what surprised me, Bobby,
- 31:17Speaker 4: is I think sometimes with Lane, his worst tendencies sometimes
- 31:20Speaker 4: are more about being overly aggressive. And we've seen that
- 31:24Speaker 4: play out in prior games. In this situation, I thought
- 31:27Speaker 4: he was overly conservative. And there's this call that's gotten
- 31:30Speaker 4: a lot of discussion where you have a fourth and
- 31:33Speaker 4: one situation where, If you can get that yard, the
- 31:36Speaker 4: game's over. And Lane typically goes for those. And he
- 31:39Speaker 4: did not. Instead, punts it. gives Kentucky another chance to
- 31:44Speaker 4: kick a field goal. They're able to do that. And
- 31:46Speaker 4: of course they ended up winning in overtime. So I
- 31:48Speaker 4: think Lane is someone who has a tendency to ruminate
- 31:52Speaker 4: over decisions that don't go his way. And so I
- 31:54Speaker 4: think he'll be thinking about that one, certainly.
- 31:57Speaker 5: And they're in a tough spot.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I mean, they were a team that we expected to
- 32:00Speaker 4: be very much in the hunt for the playoff. That
- 32:03Speaker 4: is not off the table, but they have some very
- 32:06Speaker 4: challenging games still to come, including Alabama, uh, where they're
- 32:10Speaker 4: going to have to be close to perfect, I think,
- 32:12Speaker 4: in order to make the playoff, which just what we're
- 32:15Speaker 4: seeing right now at this OSU team does not feel
- 32:18Speaker 4: super likely.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Do you think that Lane believes in Levitt?
- 32:23Speaker 4: I don't know that he should.
- 32:24Speaker 5: I think....
- 32:27Speaker 4: He's the guy that was the best available that they
- 32:29Speaker 4: were able to get. And, you know, as I detailed,
- 32:32Speaker 4: you know, in my book that we've previously talked about,
- 32:35Speaker 4: like Trinidad Chambliss was the guy he was hoping to
- 32:37Speaker 4: bring with him from Ole Miss. And, you know, if,
- 32:41Speaker 4: His waiver process was able to go faster than Trinidad.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Who knows? Maybe he'd be in OSU right now instead
- 32:47Speaker 4: of Ole Miss. But that ended up not working out.
- 32:50Speaker 4: They were heavily involved in Brendan Sorsby, which that one
- 32:53Speaker 4: worked out in Lane's favor that they didn't get Sorsby.
- 32:56Speaker 4: But they had had him on campus. They were duking
- 32:58Speaker 4: it out with Texas Tech. And then, you know, from there,
- 33:00Speaker 4: it made sense to, all right, Levitt's an experienced guy.
- 33:03Speaker 4: There's some talent there. But he just has this thing
- 33:07Speaker 4: where he's the, Oh no guy.
- 33:10Speaker 5: And then sometimes those become, Oh no, Oh no. Oh yes.
- 33:13Speaker 4: And how it works out. But there's a lot of
- 33:14Speaker 4: plays where you're like, just get rid of the ball,
- 33:16Speaker 4: do something. And he's running around and making decisions that
- 33:19Speaker 4: aren't always the greatest. But I think maybe Bobby, the
- 33:22Speaker 4: bigger thing is about the defense. And, you know, I'd
- 33:24Speaker 4: heard some things coming into the season that lane might
- 33:27Speaker 4: not be the biggest fan of his defensive coordinator, Blake Baker.
- 33:30Speaker 4: And I would imagine there's a lot of frustration that
- 33:34Speaker 4: they could not get a stop, whether it was in
- 33:36Speaker 4: regulation or, in overtime or getting a stop on that
- 33:40Speaker 4: two point play. I mean, that's just you just need
- 33:42Speaker 4: one stop out of those three and you win the
- 33:44Speaker 4: game and got 0 for 3. And that's something that,
- 33:48Speaker 4: you know, Lane has been lucky to have some really
- 33:50Speaker 4: good defensive coordinators in his career. And Blake Baker is
- 33:53Speaker 4: highly regarded nationally. But that's one that I think he's
- 33:56Speaker 4: going to be pretty frustrated over.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Speaking of feeling it, I watched the Elko press conference
- 34:00Speaker 1: and then I saw the clips, all thousand of them.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Where he's calling out the Texas Ags, the message board.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:08Speaker 1: To me, not a great look. Is he feeling it
- 34:10Speaker 1: so much that he probably now regrets even saying that?
- 34:13Speaker 1: It was just in the moment?
- 34:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he does. And, you know, this is
- 34:19Speaker 4: what you're seeing, like the pressure coming. you know, kind
- 34:22Speaker 4: of literally being physical manifestation of it when you're calling
- 34:25Speaker 4: out tech sags and Billy Lucci of all people. Cause Billy's,
- 34:28Speaker 4: I mean, Billy's a friend of the program and I
- 34:30Speaker 4: love Billy. He's a great guy, but he's a friend
- 34:32Speaker 4: of the program. And typically that's the guy that you
- 34:34Speaker 4: want helping you. And so going after Billy and tech sags,
- 34:38Speaker 4: it's just an incredible unforced error. And like, listen, I
- 34:41Speaker 4: like Mike Elko. You know, he's a fellow Jersey guy
- 34:44Speaker 4: as me in the South. Like he's a tough nose guy.
- 34:47Speaker 4: I like a lot of what Elko does and he's
- 34:50Speaker 4: incredibly smart and, but it has not worked out this
- 34:53Speaker 4: season for him in a way that like really has
- 34:55Speaker 4: not previously played out in his career. He's had a
- 34:57Speaker 4: lot of success everywhere he's been. So he's really going
- 35:00Speaker 4: through some struggle and disappointment as a head coach for
- 35:03Speaker 4: the first time. And you're just seeing him not handle
- 35:07Speaker 4: that super well. And yeah, Going after Tex Hags of
- 35:10Speaker 4: all places was probably the worst thing he could have done.
- 35:13Speaker 4: I think he's trying to clean that up. But that's
- 35:15Speaker 4: the kind of thing, Bobby, that you just know if
- 35:18Speaker 4: it doesn't work out and he gets fired one day,
- 35:20Speaker 4: that's the clip that people are going to play as like,
- 35:22Speaker 4: this is the moment when you knew the beginning of
- 35:24Speaker 4: the end was happening.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Do you think Jimbo Fisher coaches anywhere again?
- 35:28Speaker 4: I think he wants to.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Do you think he does, though? I think he does.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I do.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I think.
- 35:36Speaker 4: These guys all miss it. And he's tried to get
- 35:39Speaker 4: himself in the mix for different jobs. Now, is that
- 35:43Speaker 4: you could you know, is that a pure ego play?
- 35:45Speaker 4: He wants to hear his name mentioned. I can hear
- 35:47Speaker 4: an argument for it. But I know last year, at least,
- 35:50Speaker 4: and what was an incredibly active coaching cycle that his
- 35:53Speaker 4: agent was trying to get him in the mix for
- 35:56Speaker 4: different jobs that he was not able to get in
- 35:58Speaker 4: the mix for. And so Jimbo's got some. some things
- 36:02Speaker 4: he has to clean up from probably a PR standpoint.
- 36:05Speaker 4: I think he's done a little bit of that. I
- 36:06Speaker 4: think he's frankly good as a TV person. He should
- 36:09Speaker 4: probably just continue doing that. But yeah, I know that
- 36:11Speaker 4: he is going to try to get in the mix
- 36:13Speaker 4: again for jobs. And the big one, of course, is
- 36:15Speaker 4: his former home at Florida State, that if they end
- 36:18Speaker 4: up moving off of Mike Norvell, I can guarantee you
- 36:21Speaker 4: Jim was going to be trying to maneuver behind the scenes.
- 36:24Speaker 4: I'm very skeptical that plays out the way he wants,
- 36:26Speaker 4: but I think you'll see that start to play out.
- 36:28Speaker 4: And Jim will probably try to work himself to be
- 36:31Speaker 4: mentioned for any other job that comes open as well.
- 36:33Speaker 1: How big was the South Carolina win over Florida for
- 36:37Speaker 1: Shane Beamer?
- 36:38Speaker 5: He needed it.
- 36:38Speaker 4: And I think you saw in his postgame press conferences
- 36:40Speaker 4: the way he's shouting out his AD and the deputy
- 36:42Speaker 4: AD and how they've been able to have his back.
- 36:45Speaker 4: You could tell he was starting to feel that pressure.
- 36:48Speaker 4: And I don't know that he had a comment that
- 36:50Speaker 4: got as much attention as Mike Elko. But I think
- 36:53Speaker 4: you saw of Shane, some of the comments he was
- 36:54Speaker 4: making in press conferences, like, oh, man, this guy, you
- 36:57Speaker 4: can just tell that he's feeling it. There's a little
- 36:59Speaker 4: bit more attitude.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Out of his voice.
- 37:01Speaker 4: And... getting a win over Florida calms that down a
- 37:05Speaker 4: bit and maybe gives him some wiggle room to be
- 37:10Speaker 4: able to operate down the season without people asking him
- 37:12Speaker 4: every week about whether he's going to be the guy
- 37:15Speaker 4: to coach the team moving forward. So that was huge
- 37:17Speaker 4: for him. And then conversely, Just a stunner for Florida
- 37:20Speaker 4: from beating Ole Miss and people, you know, loving on
- 37:23Speaker 4: them and how they might be, you know, even a
- 37:25Speaker 4: potentially great team to back-to-back blowout losses is kind of
- 37:29Speaker 4: a stunner, frankly. The Missouri one, you could kind of
- 37:32Speaker 4: feel coming a little bit. The South Carolina one shocked me,
- 37:36Speaker 4: to be perfectly honest. And so that will be interesting
- 37:38Speaker 4: to see, you know, Florida now having Texas, like can
- 37:41Speaker 4: they rebound given the team, the way they've struggled and
- 37:44Speaker 4: also frankly, the way that Texas struggled against Oklahoma. Yeah.
- 37:46Speaker 5: What do you think the problem is? with Texas or Florida?
- 37:51Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 37:51Speaker 4: I mean, I guess in some ways, maybe it's just
- 37:54Speaker 4: buying into the hype a little bit. I mean, this
- 37:58Speaker 4: team coming into the season, I thought was like an
- 38:01Speaker 4: eight and four type team, maybe nine and three. So
- 38:03Speaker 4: in some ways they were ahead of schedule. Now they're
- 38:06Speaker 4: kind of falling back down to earth a little bit,
- 38:08Speaker 4: but I, again, I was not in any way thinking
- 38:10Speaker 4: they were going to ever lose to South Carolina.
- 38:12Speaker 5: So, I think there's, you know, they're a little beat up.
- 38:14Speaker 4: They have not been, you know, the defense has not
- 38:17Speaker 4: been nearly as good as I think they were expecting.
- 38:19Speaker 4: I wonder how, you know, Summerall being a defensive guy,
- 38:22Speaker 4: whether he gets more and more involved in that. And then,
- 38:24Speaker 4: you know, their offense looked great early on. I mean,
- 38:26Speaker 4: they could do anything they wanted against Ole Miss. And,
- 38:29Speaker 4: you know, Buster Faulkner, their offensive coordinator, was fantastic. getting
- 38:32Speaker 4: all this talk about being a head coaching candidate. And
- 38:35Speaker 4: they've come back down to earth the last two weeks.
- 38:37Speaker 4: You know, Jane ball has not been nearly as effective
- 38:39Speaker 4: as he was against Ole Miss. And so they got
- 38:41Speaker 4: to kind of get back to the fundamentals in some ways.
- 38:44Speaker 4: And what's another really challenging test for them this weekend.
- 38:47Speaker 1: The red river better for Oklahoma or worse for Texas.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Worse for Texas, I think, because you're starting it. We've
- 38:54Speaker 4: talked about it previously, Bobby, like it feels like they've
- 38:56Speaker 4: been teetering for a while. And now it's, it's really
- 39:00Speaker 4: starting to be like, what is wrong with this Texas team?
- 39:02Speaker 4: It's arch broken. All these narratives that were kind of
- 39:05Speaker 4: already starting to percolate, even though they were undefeated, are
- 39:08Speaker 4: just really now coming back. into the forefront and again
- 39:12Speaker 4: another really big game for them coming up against florida
- 39:15Speaker 4: the florida team that's desperate for a win and you
- 39:18Speaker 4: have real questions about this texas team and you're starting
- 39:21Speaker 4: to see and i'm not surprised by it but it's
- 39:23Speaker 4: coming even earlier than I thought, given that Texas was
- 39:27Speaker 4: number one team in the country, undefeated, headed into the weekend.
- 39:31Speaker 4: All it has taken is one loss for people to
- 39:33Speaker 4: really start questioning Steve Sarkeesian about whether he's going to
- 39:36Speaker 4: be the right guy. And I especially have seen a
- 39:39Speaker 4: lot of criticism around him, Steve Sarkeesian, the offensive coordinator.
- 39:43Speaker 4: And that was long one of his strengths. It's like
- 39:45Speaker 4: one of the great offensive minds in the sport.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Great play caller.
- 39:49Speaker 4: You know, a guy who have worked with Wayne Kiffin
- 39:50Speaker 4: at USC and those guys were the young up and
- 39:52Speaker 4: coming guys. Like that's been his calling card for a
- 39:54Speaker 4: long time and their offense. looks broken in a lot
- 39:57Speaker 4: of ways. And that's something that needs to be figured out.
- 40:00Speaker 4: And I think the kind of the concern with Sark
- 40:03Speaker 4: in Texas is that he's stubborn and has not wanted
- 40:06Speaker 4: to make major changes in the past on the offensive
- 40:09Speaker 4: side of the ball. And that's where it seems like
- 40:11Speaker 4: they have more issues right now than they do on defense,
- 40:14Speaker 4: especially when you think about how much they have invested
- 40:17Speaker 4: on the offense, which included some multimillion dollar additions like
- 40:21Speaker 4: receiver Cam Coleman transferring it from Auburn in the offseason.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I'm happy to see it. I don't like to see
- 40:28Speaker 1: Arch struggle because I like Arch. I hate Texas more
- 40:30Speaker 1: than anything, but I like Arch Manning. I feel like
- 40:33Speaker 1: he's really been put in a position and has done
- 40:36Speaker 1: great at the PR, except for the one slip up
- 40:39Speaker 1: on the Holly Rowe incident. I feel like he's done
- 40:41Speaker 1: a great job at maintaining some sort of normality in
- 40:46Speaker 1: a very abnormal position, being at Texas, being a Manning.
- 40:51Speaker 1: But I feel bad and I feel like his draft
- 40:54Speaker 1: stock is slowly falling. What are your thoughts on that?
- 40:57Speaker 4: I think it's more likely than not he might have
- 40:59Speaker 4: to come back for another year at this point. He
- 41:01Speaker 4: does not seem like a first rounder as it stands
- 41:05Speaker 4: right now. And that's, you know, from people I've talked
- 41:08Speaker 4: to and, you know, my colleague Matt Zenitz, CBS Sports,
- 41:10Speaker 4: had a great story last week talking to NFL scouts about.
- 41:14Speaker 4: different you know quarterbacks and arch you know a lot
- 41:16Speaker 4: of the feedback was he might need to come back
- 41:18Speaker 4: which is a shocker given kind of how we thought
- 41:21Speaker 4: the season started and could he still end up going
- 41:24Speaker 4: to the nfl draft sure um all it takes is
- 41:27Speaker 4: one team to give you a promise that you believe
- 41:29Speaker 4: in i didn't necessarily think ty simpson was going to
- 41:32Speaker 4: be a top 15 pick the way he was a
- 41:34Speaker 4: year ago so all it would take is one of
- 41:37Speaker 4: those teams to really buy into arch but He does
- 41:40Speaker 4: not look like a first round quarterback as it stands
- 41:43Speaker 4: right now. And that will be a very interesting question
- 41:47Speaker 4: for Arch. If he decides to come back for another year,
- 41:51Speaker 4: does he do it at Texas? Or does he think
- 41:54Speaker 4: maybe I'm not being developed the way that I was expecting?
- 41:57Speaker 4: Do I want to go somewhere else? So that'll be
- 42:00Speaker 4: an interesting thing he will and his team will.
- 42:02Speaker 5: Have to figure out.
- 42:04Speaker 4: I agree with you bobby i think he's handled things
- 42:05Speaker 4: very well to this point but now that he's starting
- 42:08Speaker 4: to hit some adversity how do you navigate through that
- 42:11Speaker 4: um he's got great people around him which will help
- 42:13Speaker 4: him but that'll be tricky for him especially if he's
- 42:16Speaker 4: coming back for a year that he probably didn't expect
- 42:18Speaker 4: he was going to have to do.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Final question tennessee not that good.
- 42:22Speaker 4: Their defense is very good um but yeah i mean
- 42:25Speaker 4: bob you saw it firsthand uh Not great, I would say.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Their offense is, in fact, quite bad. And I think
- 42:34Speaker 4: that is disappointing for Tennessee fans. And here they have
- 42:38Speaker 4: Alabama coming up, so that'll be another tricky one for them.
- 42:41Speaker 4: They have won the last two games at home against Alabama,
- 42:44Speaker 4: and I was at both of those, and they were
- 42:45Speaker 4: both wild affairs. But what I think is going to
- 42:49Speaker 4: be the great what-if with this Tennessee team is we
- 42:53Speaker 4: have a defense that feels good enough to be a
- 42:55Speaker 4: college football playoff team Should we have gotten a transfer
- 43:00Speaker 4: QB so we didn't have to rely on Faison Brandon
- 43:03Speaker 4: and George McIntyre, two young, talented guys who did not
- 43:06Speaker 4: seem ready for the moment? And they, as you remember,
- 43:09Speaker 4: they were very in on Sam Leavitt. Does Sam Leavitt
- 43:12Speaker 4: make them considerably better? I don't know, but probably at
- 43:15Speaker 4: least a little bit better. They have Sam Leavitt. Do
- 43:17Speaker 4: they beat Texas? Maybe. Do they look better against Arkansas?
- 43:21Speaker 3: Probably.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Probably. So that's, I think, what's going to be frustrating
- 43:24Speaker 4: for Tennessee fans and maybe frustrating for Josh Heupel, their coach,
- 43:26Speaker 4: of like, man, we have a lot of money invested
- 43:30Speaker 4: in these guys. We wanted to roll with them, but
- 43:32Speaker 4: we probably would have been better served having a veteran
- 43:34Speaker 4: quarterback who can capitalize on a defense that, again, that
- 43:37Speaker 4: I think is very, very good. And I think we'll
- 43:40Speaker 4: give Alabama and Keon some problems this upcoming weekend in Knoxville.
- 43:45Speaker 1: We're seeing a lot of these five-star kids. not be
- 43:48Speaker 1: able to play early, which then, why are you paying
- 43:50Speaker 1: them so much early when they can transfer if they
- 43:52Speaker 1: don't play? But you could go with, sure, McIntyre, who's
- 43:55Speaker 1: not looking very good at Tennessee, Faison Brandon, who wasn't great,
- 43:58Speaker 1: also got hurt. Even Bryce Underwood at Michigan. It's like,
- 44:03Speaker 1: you're going to pay a five-star kid all this money
- 44:05Speaker 1: and they're still going to play like a freshman or
- 44:07Speaker 1: a sophomore. Have we seen any incidents where these kids
- 44:10Speaker 1: come in as a five-star freshman and really perform and
- 44:12Speaker 1: earn their money?
- 44:13Speaker 4: It's very tough and it's a lot of potential wasted
- 44:16Speaker 4: money on your bench, which is why you've seen other
- 44:19Speaker 4: programs go the opposite way, right? Where they go for
- 44:22Speaker 4: the very expensive transfer QBs. And Miami has been the
- 44:25Speaker 4: best at that in the country from Cam Ward to
- 44:29Speaker 4: Carson Beck to now Darian Mensah, they've really nailed it.
- 44:32Speaker 5: But I think the, the angle.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Behind it and when it works out, there is some
- 44:37Speaker 4: value to it is that if you hit right on
- 44:39Speaker 4: those guys and you are getting a discount relative to
- 44:43Speaker 4: say the four, five and up million dollars you're going
- 44:47Speaker 4: to have to spend to get a, you know, guaranteed
- 44:49Speaker 4: veteran experience quarterback out of the portal. So one of
- 44:53Speaker 4: the good examples that I would point out is a
- 44:56Speaker 4: guy like Keon Russell, who has been very good. His
- 45:00Speaker 4: Heisman stock probably took a hit after they lost to Georgia,
- 45:03Speaker 4: but they got him as a five-star freshman. They've invested
- 45:06Speaker 4: a lot of money in him. He didn't have to
- 45:07Speaker 4: play last year. But here he is starting his first
- 45:10Speaker 4: year as a sophomore and has looked very good to
- 45:14Speaker 4: this point. But I'll admit, Bobby, I was kind of wondering, like,
- 45:16Speaker 4: go out and get a transfer QB. You're putting a
- 45:18Speaker 4: lot of investment in an inexperienced guy, and that has
- 45:22Speaker 4: not played out super well nationally. It has worked out
- 45:25Speaker 4: for Alabama, but there is a lot of probably buyer's
- 45:29Speaker 4: remorse for places like Michigan and Bryce Underwood. You go
- 45:32Speaker 4: back to Nebraska with Dylan Raiola, that didn't really work out.
- 45:35Speaker 4: There's a lot of these guys who have not paid off.
- 45:37Speaker 4: And when you think about you're investing maybe $ 1. 5 to
- 45:41Speaker 4: $ 2 million for some of these kids before they ever
- 45:43Speaker 4: even play a snap in college, there's just a lot
- 45:46Speaker 4: of bust potential with that versus maybe paying three or
- 45:49Speaker 4: four on a kid who has already done it somewhere
- 45:51Speaker 4: at the college level at a high level.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Yeah, especially considering they can transfer the next year. I
- 45:56Speaker 1: can understand paying that if they're guaranteed two or three years.
- 46:02Speaker 1: But I just, I think I would be like these
- 46:03Speaker 1: coaches who don't want to recruit freshmen.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Like why?
- 46:06Speaker 1: They're not going to play that much. And when they
- 46:10Speaker 1: don't play, you just spend a whole bunch of money
- 46:11Speaker 1: on somebody who's not playing, who's going to transfer anyway.
- 46:14Speaker 1: What do I know? I know nothing. I know nothing, John.
- 46:16Speaker 1: It's just, I would not be spending a bunch of
- 46:18Speaker 1: money on freshmen.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Can I tell you one thing that I would do
- 46:21Speaker 4: if I were a coach? I think I agree with
- 46:23Speaker 4: everything you're saying. The one thing that I would do
- 46:24Speaker 4: a lot of is I would take offensive linemen, as
- 46:28Speaker 4: many as I can, and just hopefully get them not
- 46:30Speaker 4: at full fright. I'm not necessarily getting five stars, but
- 46:33Speaker 4: give me a bunch of offensive linemen that I can
- 46:35Speaker 4: hopefully develop over time because that is the one area
- 46:38Speaker 4: where if you're having to go shopping in the transfer
- 46:41Speaker 4: portal for a starting caliber offensive lineman, it is going
- 46:45Speaker 4: to be incredibly expensive. And everyone wants them. So that
- 46:48Speaker 4: is where I think you take some shots. Can we
- 46:51Speaker 4: develop kids every couple of years where they're able to
- 46:54Speaker 4: play at a high level? We're probably getting a discount
- 46:57Speaker 4: on them relative to what we'd have to pay in
- 47:01Speaker 4: the portal. And those guys are willing to maybe wait around.
- 47:05Speaker 4: You can start five of them, which helps as well.
- 47:07Speaker 4: But to your point, Bobby, like running backs, wide receivers.
- 47:12Speaker 4: If you don't hit on those guys, you're not only
- 47:13Speaker 4: going to lose a lot of money, but they're probably
- 47:15Speaker 4: going to transfer in a year or two anyway. At
- 47:16Speaker 4: least offensive linemen might stick around for a few years.
- 47:19Speaker 4: So that's the one thing I would do if I'm
- 47:21Speaker 4: going for freshmen.
- 47:22Speaker 5: But otherwise, I agree.
- 47:23Speaker 4: I'll let somebody else spend $ 2 million on a freshman QB.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I'll get somebody else, and I think I can get
- 47:27Speaker 4: more out of them.
- 47:29Speaker 1: You guys check out Lane Being Lane. It is an
- 47:31Speaker 1: excellent book written by John Talti.
- 47:32Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 47:33Speaker 1: And follow him on Twitter at J-T-A-L-T-Y. John, thank you,
- 47:37Speaker 1: and hopefully... I plan to talk again soon.
- 47:40Speaker 7: Thanks, John.
- 47:40Speaker 1: All right, big loser of the weekend.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Kevin?
- 47:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it's going to be LSU for me. First thing
- 47:50Speaker 5: that popped into my mind, Lane Kiffin, big expectations, on
- 47:53Speaker 5: the road in Kentucky, and they had that game, but
- 47:59Speaker 5: they blew it in the end. So it's going to
- 48:00Speaker 5: be LSU.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Big loser of the weekend, Eddie?
- 48:02Speaker 3: Jaden Daniels. I mean, I just feel like ending in
- 48:06Speaker 3: a tie after you were in field goal position because–
- 48:09Speaker 3: You ran out of time because you had no idea
- 48:11Speaker 3: where you were on the clock. Like, that's nuts to me.
- 48:14Speaker 3: He's a loser.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Big loser of the weekend, me. Arkansas Razorbacks.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Dude, but that was so close.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Don't punt the ball. I get it. If you're trying
- 48:23Speaker 1: to salvage an eight or nine win season, or you
- 48:26Speaker 1: have won games any time in the recent history, I
- 48:31Speaker 1: get it. Punt the football. We haven't won in years
- 48:37Speaker 1: an SEC game. I don't care if it's 7%. No
- 48:39Speaker 1: one was going to be mad if you went for it.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Not a single person. We have nothing to lose. Because
- 48:46Speaker 1: all we've done is lose. We have nothing to lose. So, yeah,
- 48:51Speaker 1: it was fun to be there and to actually not
- 48:54Speaker 1: be out of it in the first half.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Good game. Yeah, it was a good game.
- 48:58Speaker 1: We have 14 straight SEC losses.
- 49:02Speaker 5: What was the environment like there? Because I've seen all
- 49:04Speaker 5: the videos, of course.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Really good.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Really?
- 49:07Speaker 1: Everybody was into it.
- 49:08Speaker 3: It was good until that punt. Yeah. And literally everyone
- 49:12Speaker 3: was saying, what are you doing?
- 49:14Speaker 1: And then I was like, they're just kids.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 49:17Speaker 5: They're just kids.
- 49:18Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Why are you yelling?
- 49:20Speaker 3: At them?
- 49:20Speaker 1: They're not idiots. They're not idiots or children.
- 49:22Speaker 3: I didn't say that. Yeah. I thought it, though.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:25Speaker 5: I thought it.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Another big loser was Oregon.
- 49:30Speaker 6: Oh.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Did you see the video of them doing jump? So
- 49:33Speaker 1: it was in Oregon. The game was in Oregon, right?
- 49:37Speaker 4: Yep.
- 49:37Speaker 1: And so they're playing jump, and usually the Oregon players
- 49:40Speaker 1: and the fans all do, jump, throw your hands up
- 49:43Speaker 1: and jump. Shout? Yeah, whatever that song is.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Okay, I thought you were doing Van Halen.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Yeah, whatever, whatever. They were all jumping. So they were
- 49:49Speaker 1: all doing shout, and all the players jumped. And Oregon
- 49:51Speaker 1: was so pissed they weren't doing it, but all the
- 49:53Speaker 1: UCLA players were.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Oh, dang, that's crazy. That's brutal.
- 49:57Speaker 1: The entire UCLA team is doing, throw your hands up
- 50:00Speaker 1: and shout, come on now. And it's the Oregon tradition.
- 50:04Speaker 5: That's brutal. I did not see that.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Raul.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Terrible. Oh, my God.
- 50:08Speaker 5: Seven turnovers, the team.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Terrible. I saw some next-gen stat that it was the
- 50:14Speaker 1: worst D1 quarterback performance in five years.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 50:19Speaker 1: He may not be the starter there next year.
- 50:20Speaker 5: But don't call him an idiot, though.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Do not call him an idiot, even though he's making
- 50:24Speaker 1: millions of dollars.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Well, no, he's not a kid. He's older, right?
- 50:28Speaker 5: Maybe 21?
- 50:29Speaker 3: I think he's 21. He can probably buy a beer.
- 50:30Speaker 1: So what's the official line where we can tell people
- 50:33Speaker 1: they're idiots?
- 50:34Speaker 3: I think if they're still teenagers. Like, they're 19 and under...
- 50:37Speaker 3: easy guys.
- 50:38Speaker 1: So when ricky rubio is.
- 50:40Speaker 3: 19 in the nba yeah yeah yeah nba different let
- 50:45Speaker 3: it rip in the nba.
- 50:45Speaker 6: And foreign yes ricky he might even know what you're
- 50:48Speaker 6: saying let it rip dude yeah he's 21 by the
- 50:53Speaker 6: way there we go well yeah say what you want
- 50:56Speaker 6: that's okay that's okay.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Uh big winner from the weekend You get to pick. Okay,
- 51:03Speaker 1: pick your own team.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Come on, Patriots, man. Put that whooping on the Raiders.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Big win.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Down.
- 51:10Speaker 5: I mean, Matt Collins is out.
- 51:11Speaker 3: A.J.
- 51:12Speaker 5: Brown been out. Lost Henderson during the game. Campbell during
- 51:14Speaker 5: the game. Both of our corners out and still put
- 51:17Speaker 5: a whooping on them.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Are the Raiders frauds?
- 51:21Speaker 5: Yeah, they didn't look very good.
- 51:22Speaker 3: And then Fernando went in a little bit at the end.
- 51:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:25Speaker 1: First time you ever got to play him.
- 51:26Speaker 5: I feel like watching Kirk Cousins, every time he throws it,
- 51:29Speaker 5: it looks like the hardest throw he could.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Ever make, but it still just lobs there.
- 51:33Speaker 5: I'm like, dang, he's getting older.
- 51:34Speaker 1: The big winners are the Patriots. That's right. Eddie, big
- 51:37Speaker 1: winner for the week.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Big winner for the week, I think it's going to
- 51:40Speaker 3: be the Georgia Bulldogs. They went in as two-point underdogs,
- 51:43Speaker 3: which is crazy, and they end up winning the game.
- 51:45Speaker 3: It's a big game. They moved number one. I mean,
- 51:49Speaker 3: that's awesome.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I'm going to say Longhorn haters.
- 51:53Speaker 5: So you?
- 51:54Speaker 1: The big winners of the week are the Longhorn haters,
- 51:57Speaker 1: including myself, who hates the Longhorns. Mike, you're a Longhorn fan.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Your thoughts?
- 52:02Speaker 3: Embarrassing.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Like, how did we lose to Oklahoma?
- 52:04Speaker 7: Their offense looked terrible, but they freaking beat us with
- 52:07Speaker 7: their defense.
- 52:10Speaker 1: We couldn't watch a lot of that game live. We
- 52:12Speaker 1: could walk into the suite that we were in and
- 52:14Speaker 1: it was playing. So we'd catch some of it and
- 52:17Speaker 1: we'd watch the score on ESPN app. But they got
- 52:20Speaker 1: to fix that Wi-Fi in that stadium.
- 52:21Speaker 3: It's bad.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Well, it's okay, but we wanted to get in the raffle.
- 52:26Speaker 1: They do a 50-50 raffle there. And so everybody goes in,
- 52:30Speaker 1: in the whole stadium, and then 50% goes to NIL, 50%
- 52:33Speaker 1: goes to whomever wins the raffle. But if you were
- 52:35Speaker 1: on the internet, it was the only way you could connect.
- 52:37Speaker 1: It'd say you're geofenced out. But if you tried to
- 52:40Speaker 1: use your cell phone, there was no cell because you
- 52:42Speaker 1: were in a stadium. So we were like crack addicts. Like,
- 52:46Speaker 1: just turn, come on, log in, log in. Connect, connect, connect.
- 52:48Speaker 3: They'd put that QR code up there.
- 52:50Speaker 1: We couldn't even get in. Dang, early addicts.
- 52:54Speaker 5: So nobody won?
- 52:55Speaker 1: No, somebody did, but Ray was one in bad. Ray
- 52:58Speaker 1: kept asking us to split a $ 5 ticket with him.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Split it.
- 52:59Speaker 3: It's five bucks, dude. I'm like, just get one.
- 53:01Speaker 4: What?
- 53:03Speaker 1: He's like, you guys want to split one? We're like,
- 53:05Speaker 1: just five bucks.
- 53:06Speaker 5: How was he? Was he during the game? Ray, I'm
- 53:09Speaker 5: just saying, he just seemed like a guy that would
- 53:11Speaker 5: just have a great time there.
- 53:12Speaker 3: He was having a good time.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he was having a good time.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:15Speaker 5: Even as a Vols fan?
- 53:16Speaker 1: He didn't act like a Vols fan.
- 53:17Speaker 4: I know.
- 53:18Speaker 1: He kept going, when do we do the woo pig?
- 53:20Speaker 1: And I said, we don't because we're not doing anything good. Yeah.
- 53:24Speaker 1: He goes, but I want to do it. I said,
- 53:26Speaker 1: right now, nothing's happening. We only do that when great things,
- 53:29Speaker 1: the beginning of the game or when great things happen.
- 53:31Speaker 1: And then some great things started to happen in the
- 53:33Speaker 1: second half. And so Ray was front and center trying
- 53:35Speaker 1: to figure it out. It's like three moves, but he
- 53:38Speaker 1: still couldn't get the final move of it.
- 53:40Speaker 5: What? Was he trying to get the crowd going like
- 53:42Speaker 5: the wave?
- 53:43Speaker 3: No, no, no. He was trying to follow along, but
- 53:45Speaker 3: you know, it's a little bit, you got to do
- 53:46Speaker 3: the fingers and yell stuff.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 53:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 3: I don't try anymore. I just kind of let them.
- 53:52Speaker 3: I stand up out of respect, but I'm not trying
- 53:54Speaker 3: to act like I'm a Razorbacks fan.
- 53:57Speaker 1: But you were dressed fully.
- 53:59Speaker 4: I am.
- 54:00Speaker 1: You're in the suite.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I do like the Razorbacks, but I feel like the
- 54:03Speaker 3: pig suey thing, you've got to be a lifer for
- 54:06Speaker 3: that one.
- 54:07Speaker 1: No.
- 54:08Speaker 7: No?
- 54:09Speaker 5: Just support them, man.
- 54:10Speaker 1: It's just any call. If you go to the Braves
- 54:12Speaker 1: game and you're not a Braves fan, but you're there
- 54:14Speaker 1: with Braves fans, do you do the Tomahawk chop with them?
- 54:17Speaker 3: I've always felt weird about the chop. I think I'm
- 54:18Speaker 3: skipping out on the chop.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Because of the racial implications?
- 54:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't want to be caught on camera doing
- 54:24Speaker 3: the chop.
- 54:26Speaker 1: I think Kevin got a little jealous that Ray went
- 54:28Speaker 1: and he didn't get to go.
- 54:29Speaker 5: Yeah, obviously I didn't even know you guys were going
- 54:32Speaker 5: and then I saw it. But I did think it
- 54:36Speaker 5: might be because I'm a Vols fan.
- 54:37Speaker 1: But you're not a Vols fan. You're not a Vols fan.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 54:41Speaker 5: That's a wide angle.
- 54:42Speaker 1: No part of you is a Vols fan. I don't know.
- 54:44Speaker 5: I didn't know if there was a reason behind it,
- 54:45Speaker 5: but I wasn't mad. You know, Ray's cool.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Ray can go.
- 54:48Speaker 5: It's cool.
- 54:48Speaker 3: No, I think, I don't know what you thought, but
- 54:50Speaker 3: I mean, I figured he'd be busy because he's moving.
- 54:52Speaker 3: He just bought that house, you know, and he's moving.
- 54:54Speaker 3: You guys are figuring a lot of stuff. No, is
- 54:55Speaker 3: that not it?
- 54:56Speaker 1: No, not really. One, I wanted to reward Ray a
- 55:00Speaker 1: little bit because he's been doing a good job. Also,
- 55:02Speaker 1: if I take two of you, I have to take
- 55:04Speaker 1: all of you. I don't have five tickets. I only
- 55:05Speaker 1: had four. Okay.
- 55:07Speaker 5: So not a Vols fan thing.
- 55:09Speaker 1: No, because Ray's a Vols fan.
- 55:10Speaker 3: And you're not a Vols fan, dude.
- 55:11Speaker 1: And you're not a Vols fan.
- 55:12Speaker 5: I'm just saying that's the first thing that came to
- 55:14Speaker 5: my head.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Ray was complaining about the sweet food, though.
- 55:17Speaker 3: What?
- 55:18Speaker 5: Okay, then he's not invited anymore.
- 55:20Speaker 3: What did he say?
- 55:21Speaker 1: His mid.
- 55:21Speaker 3: His mid.
- 55:22Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Not only was there food in the suite, there were
- 55:25Speaker 1: different buffet stands all outside of the suite in the indoor,
- 55:28Speaker 1: right outside the door. There are these big areas with
- 55:31Speaker 1: all the food. Open bars.
- 55:32Speaker 3: Open bar, dude. Anything you want.
- 55:34Speaker 5: And you don't have to pay a dollar for it.
- 55:35Speaker 1: And it's not even in the suite. Everything's in the
- 55:36Speaker 1: suite already. But outside of it was like bigger food. Wings,
- 55:40Speaker 1: chicken fried steak, big massive pretzels, open bar.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Apparently he wanted pizza and there was no pizza.
- 55:47Speaker 5: Well, tell him to go down and buy himself a pizza.
- 55:50Speaker 5: If you're complaining about being in a suite at a
- 55:51Speaker 5: football game.
- 55:52Speaker 1: He didn't complain until we were leaving.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 55:54Speaker 1: We were walking out. He's like, dude, think about suites.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Like that was mid. And then Eddie asked him, you
- 55:59Speaker 1: ever been in a suite? He goes, one other time
- 56:00Speaker 1: with Bones.
- 56:03Speaker 5: That checks out. Crazy.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Did you watch the Deshaun Jackson documentary?
- 56:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Is it good?
- 56:08Speaker 3: So good.
- 56:09Speaker 5: If you guys have not seen it yet, you have
- 56:10Speaker 5: to see it. It's on Amazon, I believe. Called Go Deep.
- 56:13Speaker 5: Go Deep, yeah. And it is literally 35 years of
- 56:16Speaker 5: documenting Deshaun Jackson. Like, he is, whatever, five years old.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Because his brother's doing it, right?
- 56:20Speaker 5: Yeah, his brother did it. And his brother, I didn't
- 56:22Speaker 5: know this, his brother's like 18, 19 years older than him.
- 56:25Speaker 5: He played in the NFL.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Yeah, he talked about that.
- 56:27Speaker 5: I knew that, but I didn't know he was 18
- 56:28Speaker 5: years older than him. I didn't realize how much older
- 56:30Speaker 5: he was either. I believe it's a separate mom. Same dad,
- 56:33Speaker 5: separate mom. And yeah, he has all this film. His
- 56:37Speaker 5: brother was a really good receiver at San Jose State,
- 56:39Speaker 5: and then he played for the Chiefs on their practice
- 56:40Speaker 5: squad for two years. And the crazy part is his dad,
- 56:44Speaker 5: like their dad, is just one of those intense, hardcore dads.
- 56:49Speaker 5: But you also, you don't know whether to love him
- 56:51Speaker 5: or to be annoyed with him or hate him. And
- 56:53Speaker 5: like Deshaun, this is about Deshaun, but his dad is
- 56:56Speaker 5: also like this huge star in the whole documentary. And
- 56:59Speaker 5: it's just, you can't stop watching it. It's so good.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Is that why Deshaun is so loud and even at
- 57:09Speaker 1: times provocative because his dad kind of has that personality
- 57:11Speaker 1: and he took it from his dad?
- 57:12Speaker 5: For sure.
- 57:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:13Speaker 5: And you could tell the brother that made the film,
- 57:15Speaker 5: he's the more soft-spoken. He got in a lot of
- 57:17Speaker 5: arguments with his dad that they talk about where Deshaun
- 57:20Speaker 5: was more ride and die with his dad. And his
- 57:22Speaker 5: brother Byron was more like, I'm just going to kind
- 57:25Speaker 5: of create my own path and do my own thing
- 57:26Speaker 5: and film all this. I mean, they did an unbelievable job.
- 57:31Speaker 5: You have to watch it. It's so good.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I didn't expect you to say that.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't expect to like it that much. I
- 57:36Speaker 5: was like, I'll turn it on real quick. And then
- 57:38Speaker 5: all of a sudden, like half hour in, I'm like,
- 57:40Speaker 5: this is so good.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Man, Mike, I really want to go see Digger.
- 57:43Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 57:46Speaker 7: Because everybody's kind of split on it?
- 57:48Speaker 1: Most people I see hate it. And I think it's
- 57:51Speaker 1: only because... people that are voicing hate or absolute love,
- 57:56Speaker 1: they get pushed forward because that generates the most engagement.
- 58:00Speaker 1: But most people I see are hating on it, and
- 58:02Speaker 1: occasionally I see someone post that goes, if you hate Digger,
- 58:07Speaker 1: you don't get true cinema.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Well, I think it's one movie that Tom Cruise could
- 58:10Speaker 7: probably win an Oscar for and also win a Razzie for.
- 58:14Speaker 7: Because it's very much like an Oscar-level movie, but it
- 58:18Speaker 7: bombs so hard that he's going to get a lot
- 58:20Speaker 7: of hate for it.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Commercially... Nobody went.
- 58:24Speaker 3: No.
- 58:24Speaker 1: I saw Anne Hathaway talking about how she loved it.
- 58:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:28Speaker 1: So is it for snobs?
- 58:29Speaker 7: I would say it's for like really hardcore movie fans
- 58:32Speaker 7: and snobs.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Has anyone else seen Digger?
- 58:35Speaker 5: Nope.
- 58:35Speaker 4: No.
- 58:36Speaker 5: I've just seen how much money it's lost.
- 58:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:38Speaker 5: That's all I keep seeing.
- 58:39Speaker 3: And I've seen the trailer, which looks funny.
- 58:41Speaker 7: Yeah, it's probably going to be one of the biggest
- 58:42Speaker 7: flops of all time.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Unless it wins awards, then people will then go and
- 58:47Speaker 1: stream it probably.
- 58:48Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Because the first hour is apparently really bad.
- 58:53Speaker 7: I liked about 50% of the movie. First hour, it's terrible.
- 58:56Speaker 7: And then once it kind of like does what it's,
- 58:58Speaker 7: I can't really say a whole lot about it because
- 59:00Speaker 7: it's spoiling it. But once it gets into that second hour,
- 59:02Speaker 7: you're like, okay, I get what they were doing, but
- 59:04Speaker 7: it took so long to get there that it's not
- 59:06Speaker 7: a good payoff.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I don't even know what the twist is, yeah which
- 59:08Speaker 1: is crazy do you guys know don't say it but
- 59:10Speaker 1: do you know the twist no no do you guys
- 59:12Speaker 1: care enough to even investigate what the twist is no
- 59:14Speaker 1: will you watch the movie no.
- 59:16Speaker 5: None no i don't think so because i don't i
- 59:19Speaker 5: mean mike watches these because there's podcasts and everything but
- 59:22Speaker 5: like if i didn't like it 30 minutes in i'd
- 59:23Speaker 5: shut it.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Off Well, you have to go to the theater to
- 59:25Speaker 1: see this one. At one point, I wanted to leave.
- 59:28Speaker 1: It was so bad you wanted to leave?
- 59:29Speaker 7: I was like, I don't see this getting any better.
- 59:31Speaker 7: I could just not know what the rest of this
- 59:33Speaker 7: story is, and I'll be good. But then I'm glad
- 59:36Speaker 7: I stayed.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I want to go watch the Elizabeth Holmes. Nathan Fielder documentary.
- 59:41Speaker 3: This Friday.
- 59:42Speaker 4: Same.
- 59:42Speaker 7: It's a three-hour documentary.
- 59:44Speaker 1: It's hard having a baby. You just can't go do crap.
- 59:47Speaker 5: So hard.
- 59:47Speaker 3: You can, but if you want to be a good dad,
- 59:49Speaker 3: you've got to stay.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Everything's got to be so planned out.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 59:53Speaker 1: And Arkansas is playing in Nashville this week.
- 59:55Speaker 5: Where are you going?
- 59:57Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 59:59Speaker 3: It's Vandy. You've got to go.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I don't know. A little bit, too. It's not as fun.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: I liked being at the Arkansas game because I like
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: being around all my people. And seeing people I haven't
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: seen in a long time. I have some friends that
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: used to play there. Seeing some of the folks that
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I deal with every week or so when I'm giving money.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I like them. But do I want to go to
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: an away game when we suck?
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: It could be a good game.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: That means they both are sucking. If it's a good game,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: that means it's a sucky game by both teams. Coach
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Lee's cool. You know, I agree. I don't know if
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I want to go.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: But that's the first time they've played here while you
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: lived here.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: We haven't played Vanderbilt but one time, and maybe I
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: don't even live here.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Like we might have played them in Fayetteville. Because I
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: know in Austin we played them to a bunch of overtimes.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: That's the last time I remember playing them. But we
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: didn't get them when they were terrible. Now they're not
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: very good again this year. They have a quarterback situation
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: like Tennessee does. Yeah. I don't know if I'm going
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: to go. It's just so much better to be at
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: home and watch a game and get to see everything
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: up close.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I get that.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Unless you're in a suite with your own people. You're
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: having a good time. You got screens on. We had
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: the other games on.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Mid-food.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: Mid-food, yeah.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Open bar. And I have a baby.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: Bring the baby.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: Baby doesn't want to go. I did see an 18-month-old, though.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And my baby's bigger than the 18-month-old.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Really? Mm-hmm. Now, probably a small 18-month-old baby. But I said,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: how old is your baby? And they're like 18 months. Like, oh, God.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: She might be bigger than my baby just because they're
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: twins and they grow like much slower.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Yeah, don't ask me. But we're in like the 97
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: percentiles of everything right now. And I'm ready for that
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: to slow down.
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: Too big?
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I hope she's not like a really, really tall girl.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: You know how hard they have it?
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Tall people?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Girls, they're tall.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Oh, do they have it hard? They play volleyball.
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Basketball, WNBA is pretty easy to get into.
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: They just don't know where to play their home games.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: How bad is that?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: That's crazy. Do you know that story, Eddie?
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: No, tell me.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: So Atlanta, they can't play. There's a concert happening where
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: they play their games.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Did they double book?
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: They didn't expect to get to that WNBA finals.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Oh, my.
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: That is terrible.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Isn't that what you're... Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: And then they were talking about going to play at
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: the Hawk Stadium, but that season starts, so it's... That's terrible.
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: They still don't know where they're going to play their
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: finals games. I think they host game three, four, and six.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: They're looking at high schools.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Mountain Pine High? Yeah. Get them in that stadium.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: That's tough.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: That's it. Thank you, everybody. Thanks to John Talti for
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: coming on. How'd you do gambling? I.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I mean, I made, on Saturday, I made all my
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: money on... Not good.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Not good.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: I came back after we got back from Arkansas, bet
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: on some of those late games.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: He's stupid. We're flying back, and he's like, well, who's
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: playing the Fresno block?
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Oh, no. Yeah, it's Fresno State, Boise State. Lost bad
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: on that one.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: He's already winning. Just go to bed.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Yeah. Washington was playing.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: Sunday, NFL, did you do all right?
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: NFL got me good. I think the only one I
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: won was the late one.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Just go to bed. How about that game?
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: It was a great game. But you're right, dude. I
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: tell myself over and over, just go to bed.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Go to bed.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: And I leave one eye open. Live bet.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Did I hear Ray talk about betting? He kept calling everything,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that's a dirty line.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Dirty line.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: That's a dirty line.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: And then you know what else he said? He's like,
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I can't believe you guys aren't just going crazy when
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: you're watching the game that you bet on. I'm like, dude,
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: it just started. And he's like, I go crazy the
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: whole game.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: Crazy character, man.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Dirty line.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Dirty line. What's the line? One and a half. Oh,
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: that's dirty.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: And then he'd say stuff like, you can't bet parlays
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: when they're playing at the same time.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: What?
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Because they know it. They know they're parlaying.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: You won't win those.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: You won't win those.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: What?
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: If the games are going on at the same time,
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: don't parlay those games.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: There's nothing logical about what he thinks about sports betting.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I was just happy to somewhat dig out. Let me
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: see what my month is.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I'm down.
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: If you ever need anybody to eat that mid food,
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: just let me know.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: You're busy, man.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you're busy. I heard you got a new house.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you're busy.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I heard you don't go to games because you got
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: a new house.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Yeah, and kids.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: No, I went to a game a couple weeks ago.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Remember?
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Two weeks in a row, dude.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that would not go well at home.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Probably would not.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: All right, let me see my month here. My stat sheet.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: It can't be great because I got to notice, hey,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: are you sure you want to keep betting?
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Are you again? Yeah.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: No, but I got it at the very beginning of
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: this week. Okay, this month... I am, oh, it's not
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: as bad as I thought. I'm negative $ 2, 549. Dude, if
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I didn't have a 2,000 plus.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: This week.
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: How did the Skins do this weekend?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: We're up. We had four.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: The only one we missed was the Cowboys.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: Stupid Cowboys.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: This year, I'm down $ 14, 000.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: What?
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I've had a rough year.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. And that's because you don't bet like
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: any other sports, really.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Mm-mm.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Just football.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: I just bet for fun. Yeah.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I do too. It's fun.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: You're betting like horse racing at 3 a.m.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: I haven't done horse racing.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: He's checking out the Fresno block. As we're flying home,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: he's already winning. We've been at a game. He's got
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: all his fill and he goes home and asks to
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: bet the Fresno block.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: I thought they were going to beat Boise.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: They were looking good, man. I know.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Do you guys have any of your rewards? Like your
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: crowns from DraftKings? It's the purple underneath the deposit.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, I got five cents in there.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Because it gives you a little bit more that you bet.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Let me see. I just wonder what Eddie's is.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: My crowns? I've cashed out my crowns, like, a lot.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Sometimes when it's a bad month, I'll cash out my crowns.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: For what, five bucks?
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Yeah, five, six dollars. Then make that an, oh, I
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: have one cent. Is that right?
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I got five.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I mean, I don't have much, and I lost all that.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I have $ 14.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: Okay, yeah.
