- 0:08Speaker 2: Cracking.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Are you guys coyote for hire officially? Now?
- 0:11Speaker 3: I think so, Man, because you become for googling, well
- 0:15Speaker 3: for listen, for Google reasons.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I feel like when I Google coyote a lot of
- 0:20Speaker 1: other things, like as you know, the search engine optimization,
- 0:23Speaker 1: that's your purposes only. I feel like you guys should
- 0:26Speaker 1: go with the coyote for higher h.
- 0:29Speaker 4: I feel like people knows for that. People shout us
- 0:32Speaker 4: out for that, and we don't shot away from it.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Our record label is Coyote for Hire. But we're still Coyote.
- 0:38Speaker 4: You know why we're still Coyote because I heard Pitbull say.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Some real shit.
- 0:41Speaker 4: He was like, you know what, I know I made
- 0:43Speaker 4: it when pit Bull came above the and the dog
- 0:47Speaker 4: when he when you.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Google, that's true, you know what that's true?
- 0:51Speaker 5: So you guys at least can see what hey, when
- 0:54Speaker 5: you google pit Bull, the dog don't come up, you guys.
- 0:57Speaker 5: You guys have your goal set.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's what I was saying. That's finish line.
- 1:00Speaker 3: But I like Coyote for a little ring to it,
- 1:02Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying? A little abbreviation as well.
- 1:05Speaker 3: See four h.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You can play with that.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Calls whatever you want. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:11Speaker 4: People, by the fault, you become your Instagram handle by
- 1:14Speaker 4: the fall.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:16Speaker 4: So but when you look us up on Spotify and ship,
- 1:18Speaker 4: it's just Coyote. But the record label that releases all
- 1:21Speaker 4: our music is Coyote for Hire, So I think we
- 1:24Speaker 4: pop up even though someone try to take that name too.
- 1:26Speaker 4: And now artists called Coyote for Hire that pops up
- 1:30Speaker 4: on our ship, and I'm trying to fucking figure.
- 1:32Speaker 3: They might have strate strategically did that to get us
- 1:35Speaker 3: to give them some money or something and buy her
- 1:37Speaker 3: fucking name back.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You know what happens a lot.
- 1:39Speaker 5: They be dropping music too, and they drop music, then
- 1:42Speaker 5: they're just fucking they're just biting.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yeah exactly. But we'll find them, is what it is.
- 1:46Speaker 3: And all the time we'll find you and we'll kill you.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Allegedly we're Coyote. Coyote man. Two of us are fucking idiots.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I really like the Yode's.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I've been trying to push the change Coyote to the Yotis.
- 1:59Speaker 3: But you know coyote represents it's two of us, and
- 2:02Speaker 3: it represents one of us, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So, yeah, you guys a few different fucking AKA.
- 2:08Speaker 2: The thing was like, you know, when you hear Queen,
- 2:10Speaker 2: it's like singular.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I mean it's singular, and it's like all these great
- 2:14Speaker 4: Linn Park, Lincoln Park. So it's like when you see him,
- 2:17Speaker 4: you see me, when you see me, you see him
- 2:19Speaker 4: mob deep Yeah exactly, Well yeah, mob I gus gang stars.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They didn't call the gang stars exactly. Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It fucking irks me when motherfuckers called us the coyotes.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I'm like, what, don't add an S to it?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Man, If you're gonna say you're gonna add the s,
- 2:36Speaker 3: just say the Yodi's.
- 2:38Speaker 5: I got to say, I'm super proud of you guys, man,
- 2:40Speaker 5: because talking to you a lot about yeah, in the
- 2:44Speaker 5: last couple of years, your journey and yeah, checking in
- 2:46Speaker 5: everyone you.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Hated us when you first met us, so you know
- 2:51Speaker 1: what I mean, both no, but I with y'all.
- 2:52Speaker 5: I remember like telling him, like when you guys came out,
- 2:54Speaker 5: I was like, man, this dude's got like a fucking
- 2:56Speaker 5: sick ass.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Look like this song just sucks.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah, shout out the head too, man. He just shouted
- 3:01Speaker 3: us out not too long ago. He said, everything we've
- 3:04Speaker 3: been doing for the past twelve months is fucking fire.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You know, bullshit, and you.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Know it means a lot coming from Head. He's a
- 3:09Speaker 3: tough fucking critic, you know what.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Let me say one thing, bro, when it comes I'm
- 3:13Speaker 4: gonna give Kevis flowers when it comes to this Mexican
- 3:16Speaker 4: rap shit.
- 3:17Speaker 2: This anyone talking about Mexicans.
- 3:19Speaker 4: The only person whoever brings us up in every conversation
- 3:23Speaker 4: or at least several that I've heard in the media's keV.
- 3:26Speaker 4: In the media spaces bootlet keV. Motherfuckers can't bring up
- 3:29Speaker 4: Mexican rappers and keV don't throw our name in there, bro.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So for that, because Kevin knows what's up. Man.
- 3:35Speaker 3: You already know he's a true hip hop head and shit.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So man, he's always showing us love and you know
- 3:41Speaker 3: it's gonna be away.
- 3:42Speaker 5: You guys are joke, man, And like you know, I
- 3:44Speaker 5: always use you guys as an example now because I
- 3:46Speaker 5: have like upcoming artists coming up here or they'll be
- 3:48Speaker 5: recording in the studio and then like if I walk
- 3:50Speaker 5: by the like, hey, you got any game, and I'll
- 3:52Speaker 5: be like, man, you know, like at the end of
- 3:54Speaker 5: the day, bro, like what you guys are doing with
- 3:56Speaker 5: like freestyles and just like yeah, fucking putting up using
- 4:01Speaker 5: cap cut and putting your lyrics like you know, like
- 4:05Speaker 5: at the end of the day, everybody's got an excuse
- 4:07Speaker 5: for why, Well, I don't have a content guy, or
- 4:09Speaker 5: I don't have someone to shoot this shit, or I
- 4:11Speaker 5: don't have this like bitch, you got an iPhone in
- 4:12Speaker 5: your pocket.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So either you apply yourself enough to figure out how
- 4:18Speaker 1: to fucking do shit on your own, because I remember
- 4:20Speaker 1: you and I were talking and you're like, Bro, I'll
- 4:21Speaker 1: just find a cool spot, you set up the.
- 4:23Speaker 5: Phone and record, and then I'll edit it and then
- 4:25Speaker 5: it's up. And then anytime you guys have ever come
- 4:28Speaker 5: on my show, you're very adamant about, like, Yo, send
- 4:31Speaker 5: me the raw shit so I can put the lyrics
- 4:33Speaker 5: on it, so I can click it up myself.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And we started that way.
- 4:36Speaker 4: Man.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Now, if you're on Instagram, and if now you're go
- 4:39Speaker 3: on Instagram, there's a lot of motherfuckers that are doing
- 4:41Speaker 3: that little formula that we were doing back then. Now
- 4:44Speaker 3: we're switching it up, you know, because you can't. You
- 4:46Speaker 3: can't be a fucking a single trick pony and shit.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But you know what I mean, we damn near inspired
- 4:51Speaker 3: a whole little wave of people.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Trying to do that formula. You know what I'm saying.
- 4:55Speaker 4: There's a track record, you can find it. I guarantee
- 4:57Speaker 4: if we're not the first, we're one of the first
- 5:00Speaker 4: to take that real form just with iPhone, single shot,
- 5:03Speaker 4: semi creative and put the lyrics in it, and it
- 5:06Speaker 4: started working for us. The thing is when it starts working,
- 5:08Speaker 4: then it comes becomes easily duplicated. Sure, and we gave
- 5:11Speaker 4: a lot of people the game. A lot of homies
- 5:13Speaker 4: were hitting us up. I won't say names like we
- 5:16Speaker 4: do my artist elections.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I remember I was like, bro like, and you should
- 5:21Speaker 2: do that because we have eight billion people on the phone.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Your job is to just find them. So that's why
- 5:28Speaker 4: I say getting best for us, when we got best
- 5:31Speaker 4: was the best thing that could have ever happened to
- 5:33Speaker 4: us because we knew we were those guys. So because
- 5:37Speaker 4: we had a chip on our shoulder, we're like, man,
- 5:39Speaker 4: fuck that, like We're gonna prove to them we are
- 5:41Speaker 4: those guys, and the only way to prove it was
- 5:43Speaker 4: to attack the Internet. And because we were on our
- 5:46Speaker 4: ass and we couldn't drop music, we just were forced
- 5:49Speaker 4: to get creative.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Well, I want to talk about that because obviously, like
- 5:52Speaker 5: I'm very hip to your guys's journey with whatever's going
- 5:55Speaker 5: on in the background. But for people who don't know,
- 5:58Speaker 5: you know, a lot of people were introduced to you
- 6:00Speaker 5: through being.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Signed to Whack. Yeah, right, shot to Whack. Whack's my guy.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Give people kind of a breakdown because you guys are
- 6:08Speaker 5: currently not with Whack anymore.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Correct, we are not so whack. Essentially, he found us
- 6:13Speaker 4: when we were just an idea. We had just created Coyote,
- 6:17Speaker 4: like two months prior, and we shot two videos, which
- 6:20Speaker 4: was Viva Mexico and one that never came out, and
- 6:23Speaker 4: it got into Wax's hands and he's like, oh, well,
- 6:26Speaker 4: it got into a lot of people's hands, a lot
- 6:27Speaker 4: of labels, and they were all interested, but of course
- 6:29Speaker 4: they wanted to see logistics, what the numbers were like,
- 6:32Speaker 4: and they're like, well, it's just an idea, it doesn't exist.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Whack liked that it didn't exist, and he's like, fuck it,
- 6:38Speaker 4: we'll take you from the ground up. Blah blah blah.
- 6:40Speaker 4: So within two months of inception, we were signed to
- 6:43Speaker 4: Whack and we were on tour with Blue Face and
- 6:46Speaker 4: he put he put his money where his mouth. Us
- 6:47Speaker 4: put a check in our in our bank account, first
- 6:50Speaker 4: big check as rappers, and that's pretty tight, right yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 4: But then twenty twenty happened, So that was late twenty nineteen.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Twenty twenty happened. It started off eight we were on
- 7:00Speaker 4: tour with Game all over Europe, killing it, you know
- 7:04Speaker 4: what I'm saying, And then we come back to the
- 7:06Speaker 4: world being shut down, which in turn led to us
- 7:10Speaker 4: being benched. And then when we got benched, we kind
- 7:15Speaker 4: of just decided to take matters into our own hands
- 7:18Speaker 4: and we started moving independently even though we were signed
- 7:22Speaker 4: and WAC never stopped it. Soul shut out to him,
- 7:24Speaker 4: and then we really stepped on the gas twenty twenty two,
- 7:28Speaker 4: and then as of last year, it started gaining a
- 7:31Speaker 4: lot of momntums. So naturally he was calling because you know,
- 7:34Speaker 4: he put some money in our pocket, and we just
- 7:37Speaker 4: made it right with him. We're like, what's your number?
- 7:40Speaker 4: He said his number, We gave it to him, and
- 7:43Speaker 4: it's all up, bro, he caused the phone. I'll still
- 7:45Speaker 4: answer vice versa.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So you guys, essentially, you guys bought your contract.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we pretty much brought ourselves out of our contract,
- 7:52Speaker 3: you know, just trying to make the business right, because
- 7:55Speaker 3: you know, this is a fucking just the music business.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So not trying to leave any bad blood or whatever.
- 8:00Speaker 3: But we just had to do what was right for
- 8:02Speaker 3: us because we were already moving independent. So it was
- 8:05Speaker 3: like we might as well be independent, Like why are
- 8:07Speaker 3: we still pigeonholding to this you know what I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 3: this contract? So you know what I mean, We just
- 8:11Speaker 3: had to make it right. We made it right, and
- 8:13Speaker 3: now bet on yourself exactly, bet.
- 8:15Speaker 4: On yourself and shout out to him because he never
- 8:17Speaker 4: blocked us when we were because we were releasing on
- 8:20Speaker 4: DSPs and all that, and he kind of let us
- 8:22Speaker 4: do our thing even when we were contractually.
- 8:24Speaker 2: On his shine.
- 8:25Speaker 1: He could have been like, hey, y'all ain't putting that
- 8:27Speaker 1: music if it in through one percent.
- 8:30Speaker 4: So he kept the solid. So when he named his price,
- 8:32Speaker 4: we kept the solid right back. And it's still all
- 8:35Speaker 4: ve man, but as of twenty twenty four, we've been independent.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Congratulations man, Thank you man, thank you man.
- 8:43Speaker 3: And ever since then, man, we've been moving and doing
- 8:45Speaker 3: cool shit. And the more shit we do, the more
- 8:48Speaker 3: shit happens. So like, fucking like, I'm excited to what
- 8:51Speaker 3: the future is going to hold for us, because man,
- 8:53Speaker 3: we finally got the ball rolling.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 8:55Speaker 2: We're growing every fucking day for sure.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Give me for people who don't know, Like, obviously you
- 9:01Speaker 5: kind of gave us a quick You guys created the
- 9:03Speaker 5: group not long ago.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I mean it's what five years ago?
- 9:05Speaker 5: Yeah, about five years ago.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You guys were cutting hair.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so we own a barbershop on Melrose.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You guys still got the barbershop.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, yeah, give me the background of like, because
- 9:18Speaker 5: because obviously that's kind of crazy, you.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Know, like, let's rap.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, so, well, we were already rapping before that.
- 9:25Speaker 4: We've been in many factions, you know, we've been rapping
- 9:28Speaker 4: for a long time.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Then we met Marcus.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Black I don't know if you know Black, course, Yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 4: and we met him at our Bark relationship Google.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly exactly. One of the sicks in the game
- 9:38Speaker 3: for so great guy.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Pen Game's crazy games are crazy, super crazy. One of
- 9:44Speaker 4: the few people that I feel like Drake stole his
- 9:47Speaker 4: whole flow and just ran with it.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I mean a little bit.
- 9:50Speaker 4: You never heard Marcus Black before Drake, No, not before Drake.
- 9:54Speaker 4: He sounds like Drake, except.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I've heard it. I've heard him obviously, I've heard it ship,
- 9:59Speaker 1: you know.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Like, and there's some little insight that would kind of
- 10:02Speaker 4: solidify that, but whatever, I don't know, that's all hear saved, Yeah, exactly.
- 10:07Speaker 2: But but he's fucking an animal.
- 10:10Speaker 4: He's one of the few people that I take his
- 10:12Speaker 4: insight when it comes to my bars, if he feels
- 10:14Speaker 4: I could have done better.
- 10:15Speaker 2: So anyways, when he came.
- 10:16Speaker 4: To our shop, he was the first to really tell
- 10:18Speaker 4: us like, hey, you guys are dope, but you don't
- 10:21Speaker 4: have no branding. You're not you're not going hard enough.
- 10:24Speaker 4: He's like, so, you guys are just dope. But he's like,
- 10:26Speaker 4: if I would just being dope enough, And I kind
- 10:29Speaker 4: of was like, it kind of irked.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Me even at the time.
- 10:32Speaker 4: But then that's when my brother came up with the
- 10:34Speaker 4: idea of rebranding, and he came up with Coyote because
- 10:38Speaker 4: we were going through something.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I got all the genius ideas we're going through something
- 10:43Speaker 2: personally too that that just makes this guy takes credit
- 10:46Speaker 2: for him.
- 10:47Speaker 4: No, but you know what coyote is right obviously. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 4: And at the time our pops was deported and Marcus
- 10:57Speaker 4: was like, everything I gotta do should be subtly, like
- 11:00Speaker 4: with what's going on in your life with like y'all Mexican,
- 11:03Speaker 4: that's really all superpower. He's like, so everything down to
- 11:06Speaker 4: your names should be even if it's subtle, it should
- 11:09Speaker 4: be kind of all time in together for trying to
- 11:11Speaker 4: put it put your culture.
- 11:13Speaker 2: On our back.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Is your dad back?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Huh No?
- 11:17Speaker 1: No, damn.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Where in Mexico's living. He's in TJ. So he stays close,
- 11:21Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So we could go over
- 11:22Speaker 3: there and go back and forth taking lunch.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Was at the Dennis last week. I was I had
- 11:29Speaker 1: to get my crown reattached. Did you ever go to
- 11:32Speaker 1: Lionfish and TJ? I don't know the restaurant in the world.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It's like, uh seafood, oh my god, yeah, busting for sure.
- 11:41Speaker 2: The tackles by his house, all the tagos are fire
- 11:45Speaker 2: out there.
- 11:46Speaker 5: So so he's still in TJ. So he's not far
- 11:48Speaker 5: so you know, it's not like at least that's good.
- 11:51Speaker 5: How often you guys go back.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And see him pretty often?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Now? Yeah? Pretty often?
- 11:56Speaker 3: Probably like ship every day?
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know every day we see him every day?
- 12:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah Chinese fluid, So Chinese food is great over there.
- 12:11Speaker 2: But yeah, shout out to my pops.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Man.
- 12:13Speaker 4: He he don't even know he was the inspiration for
- 12:16Speaker 4: the name, and he used to hate that we rapped,
- 12:19Speaker 4: but he's starting to get it.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Are you, like, do you like show him ship? Like, Dad, Look,
- 12:23Speaker 1: we have a song with Shaq.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, like everybody knows who Shack is, Like.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Like, I mean, I feel like a lot of our
- 12:31Speaker 3: family members were like, damn, what the fuck Shaquille Neil,
- 12:34Speaker 3: this is really possible, Like y'a already doing this ship
- 12:37Speaker 3: And we even have cousins that were artists and stuff,
- 12:40Speaker 3: and like we're inspiring them to like get back into it,
- 12:44Speaker 3: which is kind of cool to watch, you know, but
- 12:46Speaker 3: it's like, you don't want to do this, man, get
- 12:48Speaker 3: the fuck out of here.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It looks better than what it.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Really is, but it looks better than the feelds we've
- 12:55Speaker 4: inspired My dad.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Did you see the Poto video? So he was the
- 12:59Speaker 2: one with Mario Lopez.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Yeah, we had yeah, yeah, we had his song playing
- 13:03Speaker 3: in the beginning, and then we did a real, real
- 13:05Speaker 3: form the real ship that we do. We had him
- 13:07Speaker 3: playing the guitar, singing a song that he did in
- 13:10Speaker 3: one take, which was pretty fucking impressive, and we just, uh,
- 13:14Speaker 3: he was singing in front of a campfire with his
- 13:16Speaker 3: guitar and we're just chilling to promote that bultchoal rollout
- 13:20Speaker 3: and it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Came out pretty fire.
- 13:22Speaker 3: And then once we posted it, he seen he got
- 13:24Speaker 3: like fifteen hundred likes or something like that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: He was.
- 13:28Speaker 3: He was like, he's like, he was like, wait till
- 13:31Speaker 3: I give him that next one. And I'm like, what,
- 13:33Speaker 3: ain't no next one?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Get here? Start your own page.
- 13:36Speaker 2: But that's gonna be the altro to our album. Is
- 13:38Speaker 2: my dad's song.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Oh that's fire.
- 13:40Speaker 4: So he did that one take, bro, because I wanted
- 13:43Speaker 4: him to sing them I'm throwing it on netas, but.
- 13:47Speaker 1: He couldn't get it.
- 13:48Speaker 4: And then I was like, I was like, bro, just
- 13:50Speaker 4: give me a song, you know, like the back of
- 13:52Speaker 4: your hand, right, And I just pressed record one, took
- 13:55Speaker 4: it and you could hear it at the end of
- 13:57Speaker 4: the recording and I'm like, that's the one. That's the one,
- 13:59Speaker 4: and I just stopped it. He killed it, So it's
- 14:01Speaker 4: gonna be we might have him on all of our
- 14:03Speaker 4: album as trust Fire.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I love the video because you guys have like Concrete.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Kemp Flores was in here.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Just trying to incorporate the culture. Man.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Bro.
- 14:12Speaker 5: By the way, I think Concrete is one of the
- 14:14Speaker 5: most ridiculously hilarious human being.
- 14:16Speaker 3: That fucking you don't even you don't even got to
- 14:19Speaker 3: like say anything like this motherfucker just makes facial.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Express skis have gotten over the years. And then I
- 14:25Speaker 5: just saw I never seen him do stand up. I
- 14:27Speaker 5: know he's been blowing up doing stand up. He's not
- 14:29Speaker 5: doing him for a while. And I saw him the
- 14:31Speaker 5: other night at the Haha Club in North Hollywood, and
- 14:34Speaker 5: this motherfucker had me leaking out of my face, but
- 14:37Speaker 5: I was dead.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Bro, future Goat go or future Legend. He's already he's
- 14:42Speaker 4: gonna do.
- 14:43Speaker 1: He gotta do movies, bro, like he got to write.
- 14:45Speaker 3: He's a good actor. We had Kemp Floors on there too.
- 14:48Speaker 3: He's fucking.
- 14:51Speaker 1: To stand up. Yeah, just he's gonna be on the
- 14:53Speaker 1: podcast soon.
- 14:54Speaker 4: I saw you saw he's funny as we're supposed to
- 14:58Speaker 4: have him on the video too. With that fool got
- 15:00Speaker 4: to Hollywood is blowing up now He's like, man, I
- 15:03Speaker 4: go through my agent.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Really, he just couldn't made Mario Lopez. By the way,
- 15:12Speaker 1: what happened?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Man?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Just internet fan of a fan. That's what it is, man,
- 15:16Speaker 3: the Internet.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Man.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Like I said earlier, Man, you do cool ship and
- 15:20Speaker 3: more cool shit fucking happens. And for motherfuckers like me
- 15:23Speaker 3: and my bro, you know what I'm saying. First generation
- 15:26Speaker 3: Mexican American Mario Lopez was like one of the first
- 15:29Speaker 3: guys that we seen, like say, by the bet, I
- 15:31Speaker 3: didn't even know he was Mexican. At first, I thought
- 15:33Speaker 3: he was like agent or something.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But then when.
- 15:34Speaker 3: I found out he was fucking Mexican, all that's pretty cool.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Like we have a space here, you know, in Hollywood
- 15:41Speaker 3: type ship, and.
- 15:42Speaker 4: He wrapped us the right way, like motherfucker. You know,
- 15:45Speaker 4: always kept making sure he looked good.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You look good.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Were usually portrayed as fat, fat ass taco eating motherfucker,
- 15:53Speaker 3: and he was like looking good and ship. I don't
- 15:56Speaker 3: know what he'd be doing, bro, motherfucker, don't eat no sugar.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Since I was a kid.
- 16:01Speaker 4: He was like one of the first proper representations of latinos.
- 16:05Speaker 4: So when he reached out to us, like we weren't
- 16:07Speaker 4: just gonna let it be like oh, he gave us props.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Oh this is cool. So we immediately are our head
- 16:12Speaker 4: starts rolling like all right, how.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Can we and DMUs like, man, you guys are fucking badass.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I love what you guys are doing. And we're already
- 16:19Speaker 3: thinking like, oh you think we're badass, we'll come out
- 16:22Speaker 3: to a video.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Then.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Yeah, it was like a serious production produced by us too.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Shout out to Marmos and Yody Productions.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Are you guys directing all your own ship? Co direct? Yeah?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Co directing? Damn here you know you.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Guys got this videos out right now? Yeah you know
- 16:37Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Yeah, first man, Yeah, we just all get together and
- 16:40Speaker 3: just kind of just start throwing things at the wall,
- 16:42Speaker 3: spitball in and then like whenever we picked something up,
- 16:45Speaker 3: we just start running with it and just start treading
- 16:47Speaker 3: idea his back, and so.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We pretty much pitch it tomorrow.
- 16:50Speaker 4: We didn't even have a song yet, bro, but we're
- 16:52Speaker 4: just like, yo, we got this idea, which was that
- 16:56Speaker 4: Western idea I sent them the Desperado You ever seen
- 17:00Speaker 4: that esproto of course when Steve he's at the bar
- 17:04Speaker 4: and he sang, fucking course the biggest Mexican I ever seen, bro.
- 17:07Speaker 4: And then we then we incorporated the Selena's dad in
- 17:10Speaker 4: the movie. So I pretty much pitched him the whole
- 17:13Speaker 4: fucking bit. It took him like three weeks to respond,
- 17:17Speaker 4: but once she responded, he's like, man, I'm fucking in.
- 17:19Speaker 4: And what we do with those type of guys him Shack,
- 17:22Speaker 4: We pretty much structure the whole shoot around them.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You kind of have to their availabilities. Whenever you're available,
- 17:28Speaker 1: we'll make it work. Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he has to do that with me too, Like
- 17:31Speaker 3: he has to like structure it around me because I'll
- 17:34Speaker 3: be like, yeah, Shack.
- 17:36Speaker 4: I just tell this motherfucker where to be. But I'm like,
- 17:38Speaker 4: this motherfucker's fucking day to day too, Dawn there.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Yeah, man, he gave us a date.
- 17:46Speaker 4: And then boom, now we're like said, now we need
- 17:48Speaker 4: a song because we didn't have a song. We made
- 17:50Speaker 4: this song like a week or two before we were
- 17:53Speaker 4: already shooting the video.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Wow. So so that song was recorded after you knew
- 17:58Speaker 1: he was down to this.
- 18:00Speaker 4: We had two potential songs, but we both He wasn't
- 18:03Speaker 4: sold on one and I wasn't sold on the other.
- 18:06Speaker 2: So then I was like, A, then we got to
- 18:07Speaker 2: make something else.
- 18:08Speaker 4: And then last minute we got Magic on it, MC
- 18:11Speaker 4: Magic on it, and then you know, we got the
- 18:14Speaker 4: whole cast legend, the legend shout up, where are you from?
- 18:18Speaker 1: Phoenix?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Phoenix?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Right there? It is, Yes, my bro, I notice sounds
- 18:21Speaker 1: a kid there.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Were going to tap in with Magic tomorrow. We're flying
- 18:24Speaker 3: out the Houston. We're going on the video there headsweek.
- 18:28Speaker 4: We going to Houston tomorrow to shoot a song with
- 18:30Speaker 4: Mexican O t N, MC Magic and the Yodis. So
- 18:34Speaker 4: we're just tomorrow tomorrow.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Yeah, ship, I just got invited by OT's dad to
- 18:38Speaker 5: go back out there to shoot hogs this week.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This week when pull up tomorrow.
- 18:42Speaker 5: I got a fucking interview. I got a money back
- 18:44Speaker 5: yo interview on fucking Wednesday. That's tomorrow, tomorrow, Wednesday.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Yeah, how many days you out there just in and out?
- 18:52Speaker 2: No man?
- 18:53Speaker 4: Magic literally hit us up yesterday midday and I was like, damn,
- 18:57Speaker 4: like we I mean, it's terrible timing, but yes, like
- 19:00Speaker 4: fuck it will be there you know what I'm saying.
- 19:02Speaker 4: So we're gonna be up there some more legendary ship.
- 19:05Speaker 4: We got that be Real ship. I don't know when
- 19:06Speaker 4: this is gonna drop, but I.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Saw the be Real uh trailer look sick.
- 19:11Speaker 4: You video is awesome. Shout out to be Real man, Like,
- 19:14Speaker 4: We're just it's crazy. We're in this space now where
- 19:16Speaker 4: we're kind of like rubbing shoulders with people that we
- 19:19Speaker 4: grew up admiring and they have a similar admiration to us,
- 19:23Speaker 4: and it's kind of like, uh, hard to grab some time.
- 19:27Speaker 5: What I think like too, is like you know, like, uh,
- 19:30Speaker 5: I don't like the I've never liked like when you
- 19:32Speaker 5: just box people in on their race, like when people
- 19:35Speaker 5: say like, yo, you're a dope Mexican rapper. Like someone
- 19:39Speaker 5: asked me, uh, I did a podcast yesterday and they were.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Just like, who's Like, who's the dope rapper from LA?
- 19:47Speaker 5: I mentioned you guys, I think I met, I mentioned
- 19:50Speaker 5: I mentioned Ruccie, but I was like, I like Lefty,
- 19:52Speaker 5: you know he's entertaining, but I wasn't like for a
- 19:55Speaker 5: Mexican guy, you know what I'm saying, Like yeah, and
- 19:58Speaker 5: I feel like, you know you guys as our MC's
- 20:02Speaker 5: happened to be Mexican, and I kind of look at
- 20:03Speaker 5: like OT that way, and I look at like super
- 20:05Speaker 5: guys that way, and it's like, I feel like the
- 20:09Speaker 5: the narrative of Mexican mcs being like boxed in or
- 20:15Speaker 5: like type cast it into like a sohol year.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Yeah you can go do lowrider shows you. I feel
- 20:20Speaker 1: like that ships like starting to finally like got away. Man.
- 20:23Speaker 2: It is because we got the numbers in this country.
- 20:26Speaker 2: It's the biggest minority in the country, and we're actually
- 20:29Speaker 2: now getting to the point where we can box with
- 20:32Speaker 2: whoever you put us in the ring with, you know
- 20:34Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 20:35Speaker 4: So not all of us, but a lot of us.
- 20:37Speaker 4: And I think Mexican OT is one of them. Like
- 20:39Speaker 4: you put them on a song with anyone, he could
- 20:40Speaker 4: probably box or hang. I think me and my brother
- 20:43Speaker 4: are up there, you guys, dough Man, I think is
- 20:46Speaker 4: up there?
- 20:46Speaker 1: Man is crazy? Oh god, he's yeah, she's fired.
- 20:51Speaker 3: You know what really fucking irks me though, When motherfuckers
- 20:54Speaker 3: be like, oh, this is the Mexican YG or this
- 20:57Speaker 3: is the Mexican Kendrick and Jcob, It's like, man, what
- 21:00Speaker 3: the fuck?
- 21:01Speaker 2: That just sounds retarded, Bro, I don't hear you know what.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You know what, you never heard anybody saying that kind
- 21:05Speaker 1: of shit about cypers.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Hill exactly exactly.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Right, because everybody try to make a post about me
- 21:10Speaker 3: and my bro saying we're the Mexican fucking Kendrick and
- 21:13Speaker 3: j Cole, which is way out of line. I think,
- 21:15Speaker 3: like we got our own style, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:18Speaker 3: And I was just like, what the fuck that's fucking weird, Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 3: fucking super lame.
- 21:23Speaker 5: What's like almost like what you guys said about the
- 21:24Speaker 5: pitopull thing. It's like you guys, your guys's goals a
- 21:28Speaker 5: lot bigger.
- 21:28Speaker 4: We're up there for sure, and people, I think that's
- 21:30Speaker 4: why it's taking us longer to get there because people,
- 21:36Speaker 4: I don't know, man, in La, you see what's going on, bro,
- 21:39Speaker 4: Like besides the people that are already huge, like Tyler
- 21:42Speaker 4: and all the TV guys, no one in our realm
- 21:45Speaker 4: of success or fame or a little above or below
- 21:49Speaker 4: it's doing creative stuff like us, Bro. Not nobody like
- 21:52Speaker 4: point them out, brocause I.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Don't see it, you know what I'm saying.
- 21:55Speaker 4: And sometimes in Las it takes longer because they're used
- 22:00Speaker 4: to seeing the same ship and the same ship.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Works and it's the same the same ship.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Like that's the thing is, like, you know, you guys
- 22:07Speaker 5: aren't doing like running gun hip hop videos. You guys
- 22:09Speaker 5: are doing like really well thought out, like yeah, fucking
- 22:13Speaker 5: movies I did.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Like, are you guys working with one person that shoots
- 22:17Speaker 1: this stuff tomorrow?
- 22:19Speaker 3: He's been doing our stuff as of lately, but we
- 22:21Speaker 3: gotta we got a couple of dudes we like to
- 22:22Speaker 3: fuck with.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You know. The visions all feel very like similar to.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, very similar.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the ones we've been posting lately, Yes, all
- 22:30Speaker 3: working with Marmo Smatmo Films and the DP.
- 22:33Speaker 4: He has a super dope to Caesar, shout out to Caesar.
- 22:36Speaker 4: We got a good thing going, man, where they see
- 22:39Speaker 4: our visions and they're able to elevate them and add
- 22:42Speaker 4: their own vision. And sometimes most times we co direct,
- 22:45Speaker 4: but the last one to be real one and even
- 22:48Speaker 4: the Devil one, we kind of step back on that
- 22:51Speaker 4: one and kind of just let them do it because
- 22:54Speaker 4: typically we're so hands on where we probably get annoying
- 22:57Speaker 4: because we're like just like but then when we step
- 23:00Speaker 4: back sometimes we're like we should have stepped in more.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this last one is coming out.
- 23:05Speaker 3: I was kind of fucking pissed off about it, but
- 23:08Speaker 3: it's gonna be cool still. At the end of the day,
- 23:10Speaker 3: it's just my own nitpicking and I'm my worst critic,
- 23:14Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So whenever I see space
- 23:17Speaker 3: for improvement, I'm gonna fucking be vocal about it and say, nah,
- 23:21Speaker 3: you fucking should have fucking listened to me, jackass, when
- 23:23Speaker 3: I told you this about fucking film this goddamnit, say that.
- 23:26Speaker 2: No one's gonna know.
- 23:27Speaker 4: But you know, but because when we see our contemporaries,
- 23:31Speaker 4: a lot of people like you said one of the
- 23:33Speaker 4: boxers in with the Mexicans, right, which I'll take it, bro,
- 23:36Speaker 4: Like I fuck with the doat Mexican movement going on.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I love it, and you know, we're not the head
- 23:42Speaker 4: of the spirit, but we're on the way. But our
- 23:45Speaker 4: contemporaries to me is like Kendrick lamar Uh Tyler the creator.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Right Creatively, that's that's the bar you're trying.
- 23:53Speaker 4: To So we have a conversation with ourselves where it's like, Okay,
- 23:57Speaker 4: if this is how we view ourselves, we have to
- 24:01Speaker 4: present it as such, you know, what I'm saying, So, uh,
- 24:04Speaker 4: you know, we're making bread off music.
- 24:06Speaker 2: It comes to the point so and you.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Guys are obviously reinvesting because these videos are.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Back cheap man. You know what I'm saying.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Motherfuckers go by bust downs and we know we like
- 24:13Speaker 4: to look flying. We got our shit, you know what
- 24:15Speaker 4: I'm saying, But we're reinvesting it in the in the
- 24:17Speaker 4: product because we got to separate ourselves from the bunch,
- 24:21Speaker 4: because they try to put us in with the bunch,
- 24:23Speaker 4: but most.
- 24:24Speaker 5: People would skim on the video and then go buy
- 24:27Speaker 5: a fucking exactly a Gucci belt or something.
- 24:29Speaker 4: We're doing the opposite, and we still got enough to
- 24:31Speaker 4: look fly, you know what I'm saying. Right, and we
- 24:33Speaker 4: were the bustdowns are on the way, you know what
- 24:35Speaker 4: I'm saying. We just met up with a dealer and
- 24:37Speaker 4: all that. But for us, it's more like the art
- 24:40Speaker 4: comes first.
- 24:41Speaker 3: But when I look at these fucking receipts sometimes I'm like,
- 24:44Speaker 3: Namn Man should have just pulled up in front of
- 24:46Speaker 3: a fly as Web with some bitches and just did that,
- 24:48Speaker 3: because god damn, you gotta spend this on that and that,
- 24:52Speaker 3: because the fucking the tab on the clothes and the
- 24:56Speaker 3: gear and all that also adds up, you know.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Well how much Like because you guys, there's a few
- 25:01Speaker 5: western towns you could get around around l A. That's
- 25:04Speaker 5: not cheap cheap.
- 25:06Speaker 2: That's all.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, put that ship for two days. You've got a
- 25:10Speaker 1: minimum time, Yeah, especially people you two days.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Yeah, just to do the math some motherfuckers out here,
- 25:16Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like, Uh, we don't.
- 25:19Speaker 2: We don't take this ship lightly. Bro. We spent bag
- 25:22Speaker 2: six figures on videos.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Bro.
- 25:24Speaker 2: It's like like we changed the way we see this ship.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Like like it's like, what could you do for this
- 25:30Speaker 3: for hip hop or or whatever it is? You know,
- 25:32Speaker 3: what can we do for it instead of what it
- 25:33Speaker 3: could do for us?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying.
- 25:35Speaker 3: So we're trying to give it something great, wow, and
- 25:38Speaker 3: in return that could give us something you know what
- 25:40Speaker 3: I'm saying. We're just trying to track, trying to switch
- 25:42Speaker 3: the way we were thinking because we used to wrap
- 25:44Speaker 3: like to get the money, the fame and all that.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Now it's like, nah, let's do something fucking good. Let's
- 25:49Speaker 3: give it back to the Yeah, that's what we're trying to.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Eat because we want the culture to not only we
- 25:55Speaker 4: want the culture is starting to respect our pen game.
- 25:59Speaker 4: And we said our contemporaries like and all these people
- 26:02Speaker 4: are doing shit for love, Shaq free ninety nine, Mario
- 26:05Speaker 4: Lopez free ninety nine, be real same. So we have
- 26:09Speaker 4: all these people that are pulling up because not only
- 26:11Speaker 4: do they give us a look, a great look, they
- 26:14Speaker 4: trust us that in return, We're gonna give them a look,
- 26:17Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. So, as crazy as it sounds,
- 26:20Speaker 4: we gave Shack a look. This motherfucker went viral. Snoop
- 26:22Speaker 4: Dogg posted it, TMZ posted us like three times.
- 26:26Speaker 2: And Rick Ross trying to copy Kobe and hyeah they copy, Yeah,
- 26:32Speaker 2: they for show copied it. But Kobe and Shack of this,
- 26:34Speaker 2: yeah for sure.
- 26:37Speaker 4: And even Mario Lopez, you know what I'm saying, like
- 26:39Speaker 4: he's showing a mad love.
- 26:40Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, Like what the fuck we don't own Shack?
- 26:43Speaker 1: You can do record, brother, you want? How was that? Like, Shack?
- 26:47Speaker 5: How you guys are from l A obviously, so Shacks
- 26:49Speaker 5: a Laker legend, for got a statue outside of the
- 26:52Speaker 5: fucking Staple Center.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Love that guy.
- 26:54Speaker 1: One of the most famous human beings ever walked the
- 26:55Speaker 1: face of the ever.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yeah, his fucking or is crazy. He's like a god
- 26:58Speaker 3: amongst men already.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Third Yodie, how like, first of all, what were the
- 27:03Speaker 5: discussions between him just being a fan because he always
- 27:06Speaker 5: shows loved a lot of different artists. Yeah, yeah, a
- 27:09Speaker 5: lot of independent artists too, But like, how do you
- 27:11Speaker 5: translate that from like him rapping with you?
- 27:15Speaker 1: So that's that's fucking sick.
- 27:18Speaker 4: The first time he ever hit us up, which was
- 27:20Speaker 4: also video my brother posted just on his phone again
- 27:22Speaker 4: going back on the phone.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I was parked on the phone.
- 27:25Speaker 3: And then we had just recorded a song at I
- 27:28Speaker 3: forgot whose studio was. We did a song whatever it
- 27:31Speaker 3: was Holly Morning, yeah in Vegas. Now, this was at
- 27:34Speaker 3: his house over here. I don't know if he still
- 27:36Speaker 3: has it.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It was a while talking about the Giant House, like
- 27:40Speaker 1: like the White House.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, long gone with French, I never got oh.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah you said about you take the elevator down?
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that spot. We did a song that he had
- 27:48Speaker 3: a record with French Montana. It never got really sound
- 27:50Speaker 3: about right, yeah, And I was hearing it the next
- 27:53Speaker 3: day and I was like, damn, I gassed this motherfucker.
- 27:55Speaker 3: So I just recorded myself rapping the lyrics posted it,
- 27:58Speaker 3: didn't think nothing of it, and fucking came across Shack's
- 28:02Speaker 3: eyes and then fucking next thing you know, we got
- 28:05Speaker 3: a fucking DM from Shacks ain't dope.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I'll funk with y'all. Y'all dope as fuck like.
- 28:09Speaker 3: You're going, and he shot us to follow and then
- 28:12Speaker 3: we're fucking super hyped that day.
- 28:14Speaker 2: It was during the pandemic.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Too, so immediately, like I was legit a fan of
- 28:19Speaker 4: shacks raps, I love no hooks with him.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I mean, I know people like to try to give
- 28:24Speaker 1: Damian the props, but Shack had fucking jay Z and
- 28:27Speaker 1: Nas on.
- 28:27Speaker 3: The record and Wool Tang Biggie Black thought you went
- 28:31Speaker 3: platinum as a rapper like most like it was a
- 28:35Speaker 3: different time, but this motherfucker had you can't stand the rain, you.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Understand was fire, So before stopped the ring. Whatever you
- 28:43Speaker 4: can can't stop, the r can't stop. So not only
- 28:46Speaker 4: did we show him admiragers and for being a laker,
- 28:48Speaker 4: but almost immediately we're like above that, like I love
- 28:51Speaker 4: your pen game as a rapper, I respect you too,
- 28:54Speaker 4: So immediately we dropped the seed.
- 28:56Speaker 2: The first day, like.
- 28:57Speaker 4: One day, hopefully we get you out of retirement and
- 28:59Speaker 4: get you on a song. And he was just like,
- 29:01Speaker 4: as long as its hardcore, I'm with it, you know
- 29:03Speaker 4: what I'm saying. But that was two years before we
- 29:05Speaker 4: actually got the song done, so it was just like
- 29:08Speaker 4: relationship building. He started sending his means, we were saying
- 29:11Speaker 4: me there was like regular stuff. And then last year
- 29:14Speaker 4: he started sharing our stuff a lot. He was just
- 29:16Speaker 4: sharing what we were doing. So we're like, all right,
- 29:18Speaker 4: he's tapped in, so maybe now is the time to
- 29:21Speaker 4: send him a song. And we had done the song
- 29:23Speaker 4: that was super hardcore, the Three Locals one, and it
- 29:26Speaker 4: was with ghost Face Killer in mind because we talked
- 29:29Speaker 4: to somebody that potentially it could have happened. Yeah, and
- 29:33Speaker 4: it didn't happen, but we had it and we're like,
- 29:36Speaker 4: fucking I'm send it to Shack.
- 29:37Speaker 1: He's my favorite member.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Really, he's up. There's top three. I love method.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Man, goes Face in my top ten ever, So top
- 29:45Speaker 5: ten ever, Yeah, sure, I think goes Face.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, his new album's Crazy too Fire.
- 29:51Speaker 2: He never lost it, yeah, he never.
- 29:53Speaker 3: He hasn't lost a step bro, and even on the features, bro,
- 29:56Speaker 3: he still fucking goes crazy.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Shit with him and nams.
- 29:59Speaker 3: He went banana, Yeah, I don't never disrespect me records.
- 30:04Speaker 5: You guys, uh, get get in the record. He sends
- 30:06Speaker 5: it back to you, and now it's like, all right,
- 30:08Speaker 5: well we gotta shoot the video.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah, so again it goes back. He facetimes us. My
- 30:12Speaker 4: brother immediately like this is the thing. We don't let
- 30:16Speaker 4: the opportunity just pass. We shoot our shot if it
- 30:18Speaker 4: felas and felt my brother first thing down there he's
- 30:20Speaker 4: my brother says, was you know, we gotta bring you
- 30:23Speaker 4: out to the video.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Shack's like I'm there, I'm there.
- 30:26Speaker 4: So we're already like okay, and you know, we hang
- 30:29Speaker 4: up and then we kind of want to not bother him,
- 30:32Speaker 4: and then he keeps texting us. He starts sending us
- 30:34Speaker 4: beats and like da, So I'm like okay, Like Shack's
- 30:37Speaker 4: really like he's fucking.
- 30:38Speaker 3: With also sending us memes and ship of yeah dying
- 30:41Speaker 3: on Instagram.
- 30:42Speaker 2: It was just pretty so all right, we're on the
- 30:46Speaker 2: same you guys.
- 30:47Speaker 1: We're the saying.
- 30:49Speaker 3: Once you start trading memes with each other, you're like,
- 30:51Speaker 3: all right, this is becoming like a friendship here.
- 30:54Speaker 1: So it was like all right, he just got.
- 30:56Speaker 3: A little bit more comfortable, you know what I mean.
- 30:57Speaker 3: He can tell his motherfucker anything.
- 30:59Speaker 1: So he was on tour.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I saw he was in La one day and I
- 31:03Speaker 4: was like, shock, if you could give us fucking one hour,
- 31:05Speaker 4: bro that yeah, we'll plan it around done in an hour. Yeah,
- 31:09Speaker 4: he said, yes, we planned it. He gave us two
- 31:12Speaker 4: hours and we did what we did and he we
- 31:15Speaker 4: went stupid viral and that was like another step on
- 31:20Speaker 4: the gas that it boosted us even more than what
- 31:22Speaker 4: we were already doing. Man, he's been a real blessing.
- 31:25Speaker 4: He text us randomly. He's really embodied being the third
- 31:27Speaker 4: member of Coyote. We have a few other songs with him. Yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 4: he just text us randomly like around.
- 31:35Speaker 3: But there was an award for like the most random
- 31:37Speaker 3: link up. I think that one would have won it
- 31:40Speaker 3: for for sure, the most random link of shack.
- 31:44Speaker 1: But ship we made that ship.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I would have never thought.
- 31:48Speaker 1: There Jersey Living.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we got to songs that we got to.
- 31:53Speaker 3: We're gonna hang those up at the studio, you know
- 31:55Speaker 3: what I mean. Yeah, but that's the bro And it's
- 31:58Speaker 3: crazy to say that, but it's true, like us to bro,
- 32:00Speaker 3: like we talk to them all the time.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Explain to me, like, how because you guys obviously being
- 32:07Speaker 5: with Whack, I felt like I felt like you guys
- 32:10Speaker 5: were kind of obviously when you sign with Whack, opportunities
- 32:14Speaker 5: come because Whack is a well connected person. Those opportunities
- 32:17Speaker 5: don't necessarily translate into like real fans.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely not right.
- 32:21Speaker 5: But I feel like what you guys have been doing
- 32:23Speaker 5: the last like year and a half or so, you
- 32:26Speaker 5: guys are building like a real buzz or real fan base.
- 32:28Speaker 5: What was it like that you feel like you guys
- 32:31Speaker 5: started to do differently that translated into people becoming actual fans,
- 32:37Speaker 5: not like passive fans. I'm talking about like people who like,
- 32:39Speaker 5: go buy a ticket, people who buy a T shirt,
- 32:41Speaker 5: people who are like you.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Just you can't cheat the work, bro, You can't fool
- 32:44Speaker 3: the people. You can't cheat the work. Like if a
- 32:46Speaker 3: motherfucker puts a bag behind you and it it throws
- 32:49Speaker 3: you out there, that doesn't mean it's gonna work, you
- 32:51Speaker 3: know what I mean. You can get all the code
- 32:53Speaker 3: signs in the world, but if your shit's not connecting
- 32:55Speaker 3: with anybody, you don't got a message, Like what's your movement?
- 32:59Speaker 1: What is it for?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Mean?
- 33:00Speaker 3: Like people aren't gonna fucking follow you because you can't
- 33:03Speaker 3: cheat the system like you need a What we did
- 33:08Speaker 3: was like we started trying to cater to them, and
- 33:10Speaker 3: we fucking forgot what made us get in this position
- 33:13Speaker 3: in the first place. That's why we hit a little
- 33:16Speaker 3: bump on the road, you know what I mean at
- 33:17Speaker 3: that time. But what we fucking started doing is like, nah,
- 33:20Speaker 3: what God is here? The way we were fucking rapping
- 33:23Speaker 3: back then, So let's get back to that and start
- 33:25Speaker 3: connecting with people on a different level so we can
- 33:28Speaker 3: build this colt following that just follows us. And then
- 33:32Speaker 3: once you build that bro like in music, you'll never
- 33:34Speaker 3: go hungry.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Like those motherfuckers are gonna always support you to support,
- 33:38Speaker 1: so they're gonna they're gonna buy buy the sweater exactly
- 33:41Speaker 1: by the heart, special edition whatever.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Yeah, So that's what That's what was our mentality going
- 33:47Speaker 3: into it, like, nah, we can't cheat the ship, Like,
- 33:49Speaker 3: let's put the footwork in that's needed instead of like,
- 33:51Speaker 3: all right, let's get this fucking big ass fucking industry
- 33:55Speaker 3: to put their name behind our ship and blasts out there.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Because they did that, and now the hood rat record
- 34:00Speaker 3: that you're a fan of you love so much. Win
- 34:03Speaker 3: but yeah, yeah, to win top forty on rhythmic rhythmic charts.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I don't know if that means anything. I don't know
- 34:08Speaker 3: what the fuck rhythmic.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Charts is, but I remember it's a billboard though.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and they record is dope.
- 34:15Speaker 3: But you can't cheat the fucking work, bro, Like you
- 34:17Speaker 3: want to build fans, go out there, let the people
- 34:20Speaker 3: touch you while the fuck you acting famous when you
- 34:22Speaker 3: got fucking whatever followers you got, Like, Bro, you can't
- 34:26Speaker 3: cheat the fucking work.
- 34:27Speaker 4: And I think also, like again going back to what
- 34:30Speaker 4: you're trying to appeage, there's A and RS and people
- 34:33Speaker 4: telling you when we pull up with our dope shit,
- 34:35Speaker 4: even like the ship we deal with sim but we
- 34:37Speaker 4: pulled up like yo, look what we got, and people
- 34:39Speaker 4: are like, no one wants to hear this ship. No
- 34:41Speaker 4: wants to hear this ship.
- 34:42Speaker 3: You start beleave in bro and nowadays broke because of
- 34:46Speaker 3: the Internet, there's a space for anybody to find their
- 34:49Speaker 3: crowd and grab them and then fucking eat off of the.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Problem with the people who you're talking about A and
- 34:54Speaker 5: RS is like their livelihood, like them being gainfully employed,
- 34:58Speaker 5: depends on whether or not a song is uote unquote
- 35:00Speaker 5: hit record. So when they get like I would almost
- 35:03Speaker 5: say almost any A and R period, when they give
- 35:06Speaker 5: you feedback, it's coming from a place of job security.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's why now they're losing their jobs in
- 35:11Speaker 4: the industries and shambles because you have people like us
- 35:15Speaker 4: that we're direct to consumer, like I don't need nobody's approval.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Like once we started doing, like, look, bro, this is
- 35:20Speaker 4: what we want to do. This is not only what
- 35:22Speaker 4: we want to do. This is what we're best at.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Because trying to do the LA sound and all this
- 35:26Speaker 4: other stuff, we could do it. But if I'm Steph
- 35:29Speaker 4: Curry in the three pointers, my fucking go to while
- 35:31Speaker 4: the fuck am I not shooting the three Yeah, So
- 35:35Speaker 4: that's kind of the angle we started taking. And if
- 35:37Speaker 4: we fell on what we're good at, at least it's
- 35:40Speaker 4: on our fucking it's on us, it's on you.
- 35:43Speaker 5: You're like going out your way, Like hey man, I
- 35:46Speaker 5: can't blame this on anybody because you could at least
- 35:48Speaker 5: go to sleep at night knowing we did it our
- 35:50Speaker 5: way and it didn't work, and that's fine. But if
- 35:52Speaker 5: you go to sleep at night and it didn't work
- 35:54Speaker 5: because you followed trends, or you followed with some.
- 35:57Speaker 4: That doesn't feel good, that feels terrible, that's work because
- 36:00Speaker 4: you agree with them. I remember people started saying it
- 36:02Speaker 4: about hood right even when you guys told us and
- 36:04Speaker 4: a few other people, I was like, man, the fuck
- 36:06Speaker 4: the things I agree with these motherfuckers. I hate this song,
- 36:09Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, But now I appreciate it
- 36:11Speaker 4: because it did put a battery in our back.
- 36:13Speaker 5: And No, but when you guys, even when you guys
- 36:15Speaker 5: came and rapped, you guys killed it. Yeah, I was like, well,
- 36:19Speaker 5: these are hard like shit like dope for uh, for
- 36:24Speaker 5: you guys, man, like give me you guys obviously have
- 36:28Speaker 5: a guy with two belts, oh.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah, with a tag team chests.
- 36:32Speaker 4: But these are our belts really too for everyone I
- 36:34Speaker 4: think you know what I'm saying, like.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Kind of heavy, so we need a big, strong, hefty
- 36:38Speaker 3: guy in the back hold of them for us.
- 36:39Speaker 4: We actually won these too. This ain't no belts have
- 36:42Speaker 4: been given this the homicide one.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Those are WWF's by the way, too, so you didn't
- 36:46Speaker 1: those aren't fucking like I went to the w W
- 36:49Speaker 1: shopping bottom recently. No, because that's a w.
- 36:51Speaker 3: W like if you know, you know, you know what
- 36:53Speaker 3: I mean. We're fucking big vintage fans.
- 36:55Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You know I'm walking some vintage right now. And you
- 36:59Speaker 1: guys areso wrestling guys.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Yeah, grew up wrestling, Yeah, I mean I fucking almost
- 37:05Speaker 3: killed this guy at one point.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Can you say you grew up wrestling in the dockyard? Yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 1: in the backyard.
- 37:09Speaker 2: It was doing a backyard.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Table ladders, real matches.
- 37:16Speaker 3: That shit became like a thing where our parents would
- 37:18Speaker 3: be like when they leave the house and then leave
- 37:20Speaker 3: us there no wrestling.
- 37:22Speaker 2: It was like we didn't know it was fake.
- 37:24Speaker 4: So we're over here really making each other cry because
- 37:26Speaker 4: we had belts that we would It was a twenty
- 37:28Speaker 4: four to seventh thing where you could win the belts, right,
- 37:31Speaker 4: so any given.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Time and then you win the hardcore belt. Was this
- 37:36Speaker 3: stuff alcohol right, twenty four to seven belt. I'll be
- 37:39Speaker 3: walking out the motherfucking bathroom in this motherfucker steel chair.
- 37:42Speaker 4: But but legit making each other cry, like putting each
- 37:46Speaker 4: other through tables. He threw a center block in my head.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I got I was an accident, though it was an
- 37:51Speaker 3: accident because look one of the little my little cousin Anthony.
- 37:56Speaker 3: He ended up throwing the belt over the fence because
- 37:59Speaker 3: we were fining for one of these belts right here
- 38:01Speaker 3: back in the days, though not these exact belts, but yeah,
- 38:04Speaker 3: he threw it over the fence and we couldn't wrestle
- 38:06Speaker 3: anymore because we were trying to climb the ladder to
- 38:08Speaker 3: get the belt.
- 38:09Speaker 2: You guys have a ladder match, terrible ladders and in
- 38:12Speaker 2: the backyard.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Yeah, so we were all like, damn, I didn't want
- 38:15Speaker 3: to jump the fence. I could have jumped the fence,
- 38:16Speaker 3: but I kind of pretend I can't. Yeah, I try
- 38:19Speaker 3: to act like my fucking ankle was heurt or whatever.
- 38:22Speaker 3: And then he was like, all right, I'll fucking do it.
- 38:24Speaker 3: But he couldn't get up there because he was a
- 38:26Speaker 3: little chunky kid, you know what I mean.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Put the center block on the floor.
- 38:29Speaker 3: So he put the center block on the floor, still
- 38:31Speaker 3: on the center block, jumped over, and he was like,
- 38:33Speaker 3: but when I jump over, I need the cinder block
- 38:36Speaker 3: to jump back.
- 38:36Speaker 2: So when I land, you threw the cinder block so
- 38:39Speaker 2: I can step on it.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Wait one second.
- 38:43Speaker 3: As he jumped over, I grabbed the cinder block, said
- 38:45Speaker 3: fuck you. I didn't even think I just threw it.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I don't even want.
- 38:51Speaker 1: I heard was.
- 38:53Speaker 3: I was like, I got I know there was a ladder.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Now and then no one could jump to the defence.
- 39:04Speaker 4: But not everyone don't.
- 39:05Speaker 3: I'm scared, like, oh no, he's hurt adrenaline. This guy,
- 39:11Speaker 3: we don't use the block to jump back over. It
- 39:13Speaker 3: was covered like his whole face was red. Leading mom
- 39:16Speaker 3: just stished me up all the time. I'm thinking, like
- 39:18Speaker 3: how am I getting? How am I going to get
- 39:20Speaker 3: out of this ship with my mom? She's gonna fuck
- 39:21Speaker 3: me up?
- 39:22Speaker 1: And I was like, I got it. I'm gonna blame Anthony.
- 39:24Speaker 2: He's only four years old. The first we're blaming a
- 39:28Speaker 2: four year old.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he threw the seconds, but he chucked it. He
- 39:32Speaker 1: got fucking straight. I said, if.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Anthony would have never threw the belt over the fence,
- 39:36Speaker 3: he would have never got crabbed.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I said, I fell off the fence.
- 39:39Speaker 3: He shot the Anthony man, he was a real one.
- 39:41Speaker 3: He took my mom's chew out like a champion and
- 39:43Speaker 3: wrapped me out. He just sat there and cried him,
- 39:47Speaker 3: almost chewing him out.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Like you motherfucker, you throw the belt. Look at what
- 39:51Speaker 2: happened A big Yeah. They just stished me up out
- 39:54Speaker 2: there on the kitchen table.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Have you guys got to link with any wrestlers yet?
- 39:59Speaker 5: Anybody chat or tapping off?
- 40:02Speaker 4: We know the homie Santana Proud what's his name?
- 40:05Speaker 1: From New York? You guy should work with?
- 40:08Speaker 3: Uh?
- 40:09Speaker 1: You know there's a guy named st Strickling is the
- 40:11Speaker 1: a W champ? A rapper really hard? You know him? Yeah?
- 40:16Speaker 1: He last week we're doing the record fuckers that had
- 40:20Speaker 1: been crazy.
- 40:21Speaker 4: We're trying to throw an event where we mixed hip hop,
- 40:24Speaker 4: wrestling and comedy.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Bro, y'all should do it. Fucking let's go. We're talking down,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I'm down, and let's do it.
- 40:31Speaker 4: We got Rakisi right, we still got Rakeshi's number. We're
- 40:34Speaker 4: talking with a lot of these guys. Man, let's do it.
- 40:36Speaker 4: We're gonna have Vernee and Ken hosted.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I know all kind of wrestlers.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Dog, let's say less, bro, don't tell.
- 40:42Speaker 5: Me super tighted with someone like like ah, like a
- 40:45Speaker 5: few of the USO guys like U Zilla, who's to
- 40:48Speaker 5: Who's uh the Roman Ranges?
- 40:51Speaker 1: I think it's his cousin? Fire him, bro? Yeah, I
- 40:56Speaker 1: know a lot of those guys.
- 40:57Speaker 2: We're trying to do like a festival bow where's a
- 40:59Speaker 2: called Yodi Man and ship show.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Where it's wrestling, comedy and rap. But in the coolest way.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Where would you do that in the States. The ring,
- 41:08Speaker 3: it's going to be a wrestling ring. Whoever performs, the
- 41:11Speaker 3: performers are rapping in the ring. Yeah, everything in the ring.
- 41:14Speaker 3: The comedy is in the ring, spying in all in
- 41:17Speaker 3: the ring. It's gonna be a complete ship show. Chaos
- 41:20Speaker 3: but beautiful sounds fire.
- 41:22Speaker 2: You heard don Coyote.
- 41:24Speaker 1: The venue they have like.
- 41:29Speaker 2: But they already throw wrestling events there. They throw wrestling events.
- 41:33Speaker 4: They're already. We could put the ring in there, and
- 41:36Speaker 4: we could put bleachers in there. We got the connection
- 41:38Speaker 4: for bleachers and then they got an upstairs part balcony
- 41:41Speaker 4: wraps around it.
- 41:43Speaker 2: All that you're down. What were trying to make it
- 41:45Speaker 2: like a yearly.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Fucking complete circus should be hard Midget strippers.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Midge strippers, that would be hard.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I I got a lap dance from a single midget
- 41:55Speaker 1: stripper before.
- 41:56Speaker 2: What you smashing is it wasn't married.
- 42:00Speaker 1: If you were married, I'm no, of course not, but
- 42:04Speaker 1: if I wasn't married, you're a single. I give it
- 42:06Speaker 1: a just to just to say I did it.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I guess for the story, like very like chunky.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, they.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Got definitely got. They're definitely thick. They thick in the
- 42:18Speaker 3: forehead too. Their faces looks like Rihanna's look like Rihanna
- 42:25Speaker 3: on a small body.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Gorgeous is what I'm saying. But you know they got forehead.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like Rihanna is like a
- 42:33Speaker 2: full grown midget.
- 42:38Speaker 3: US bad mission just kept going.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I think she's one of the battest girls out there.
- 42:47Speaker 4: But you know, yeah, for sure there's a resemblance there.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I know there's a resemblance there. For sure.
- 42:53Speaker 4: When I see a bad midget, I'll be like, man,
- 42:55Speaker 4: I look like Rihanna.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Like that.
- 43:01Speaker 1: It's great. So talk, let's talk about the album. Yeah.
- 43:04Speaker 2: LT Aliens dropped this before after before before on the twelve,
- 43:10Speaker 2: I think, so, I think, so that's the day we're
- 43:12Speaker 2: aiming for right now.
- 43:13Speaker 4: That's you know, on the corner, Yeah to light twelve.
- 43:17Speaker 4: So we we we're gonna have a release show.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Fourteenth is the fourteenth, Friday Friday.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I don't know what today is, so I don't fucking
- 43:26Speaker 3: around that time, sometime in June.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I think it's July.
- 43:29Speaker 2: July, yeah, July, Okay, July twelve.
- 43:34Speaker 4: L Dot Aliens featuring the Yodis, Shaq, west Side, Bugie.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Rigan, Ricky Blanco, Ricky Blanco, the Game, Dom Man, Jesus.
- 43:46Speaker 2: There's a lot of dope ship on there, Sucker Free
- 43:49Speaker 2: the Homie from Lantic one on four. It's gonna be dope, man.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I'm super proud of it. Uh.
- 43:55Speaker 4: We might have a show at the Saint Rock in
- 43:57Speaker 4: the South Bay. I know people like to stay in
- 43:59Speaker 4: fucking hot, so we're trying to move people out of
- 44:01Speaker 4: Hollywood and go to our side of town. That might
- 44:05Speaker 4: be the final Roxy though, I know. But they're out
- 44:07Speaker 4: of business right now.
- 44:08Speaker 3: They're they're not going to open till September or some
- 44:12Speaker 3: ship like that.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I'm glad they're fixing it. Every time you have to rock,
- 44:14Speaker 1: you're like, what the fuck?
- 44:16Speaker 4: I think they're opening it back up in August, but
- 44:18Speaker 4: I think August is already booked, so they're thinking about
- 44:20Speaker 4: booking us there in September.
- 44:22Speaker 1: The South Bay show, and then you gotta spin the
- 44:25Speaker 1: block and do the Roxy. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's gonna be more of a like listening type
- 44:29Speaker 3: of party, you know what I mean.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I still don't know what we're gonna do.
- 44:32Speaker 3: That we might do, I mean, Ship, we might pull
- 44:34Speaker 3: out the midges and tables and ladders and chairs there Ship,
- 44:37Speaker 3: who knows it's still away from now.
- 44:39Speaker 1: The echo that echoes it's an echo park. That's that's
- 44:44Speaker 1: the first time OT was in TOWNY did the echo
- 44:46Speaker 1: It's it's a it's a good room.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I think we went there.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I think it's like four or five hundred tickets.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Oh, it came to the studio after that night. Yes, yeah,
- 44:55Speaker 2: I remember that was that. I think that was the Echo.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:58Speaker 5: So there's the Echo Plex and then the Echo. They're
- 45:00Speaker 5: like one's it's super fucking weird because one's like below
- 45:04Speaker 5: the other.
- 45:06Speaker 1: But so you got to like go down the stairs
- 45:09Speaker 1: and like walk past all the homeless piss to get
- 45:11Speaker 1: to the real. But there's two venues in that space,
- 45:14Speaker 1: one of them smaller, one of them is bigger. But
- 45:15Speaker 1: it's a good venue, I mean Ship.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:18Speaker 4: The thing about the same rock, I think we got
- 45:19Speaker 4: it for free.
- 45:22Speaker 2: They don't like pain.
- 45:23Speaker 3: We don't even pay our producers deal Ship because you know,
- 45:30Speaker 3: the hardest process for us is just kidding, man, shout
- 45:33Speaker 3: all the motherfucking producers.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Man.
- 45:37Speaker 4: So we go through I swear people think we're joking,
- 45:39Speaker 4: but we'll probably go through five hundred beats to find one,
- 45:43Speaker 4: and like I guess, we could write to anything, right, Like,
- 45:45Speaker 4: if I have to do a.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Song, I will.
- 45:47Speaker 1: So it's the hardest part for you, Yeah, just because
- 45:50Speaker 1: lately we've been we've been.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Fighting the beat and then getting the first line is
- 45:53Speaker 3: probably the hardest part. You know, Once we got that
- 45:56Speaker 3: and then everything just starts flowing.
- 45:58Speaker 4: Like you ever hear people say the worst has come
- 46:01Speaker 4: to me. So that's what we're searching for now. So
- 46:04Speaker 4: I hear it.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Bet I want the worst to come. Yeah, just nothing forced.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I don't want to thinking, oh I like this beat,
- 46:10Speaker 4: and then I'm thinking thinking thinking which I can if
- 46:12Speaker 4: I have to. But lately what I'm looking for is
- 46:14Speaker 4: I want the beat that pull the ship out of
- 46:18Speaker 4: me pretty.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Much, So going there with some fully loaded clips.
- 46:22Speaker 4: It takes fucking going through five hundred beats, and sometimes
- 46:26Speaker 4: we find them on YouTube or beat stars will pay
- 46:28Speaker 4: the forty dollars fucking lease or whatever. Sometimes forty dollars
- 46:33Speaker 4: exclusive you know what I'm saying.
- 46:35Speaker 1: YouTube, Like, YouTube is a great place to find beats.
- 46:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know, once it shit really starts popping off.
- 46:42Speaker 4: I know we're going to get a lot of.
- 46:43Speaker 3: People type beat records on this project that we're putting in.
- 46:46Speaker 1: So when you find the type beat type record, you
- 46:49Speaker 1: just fucking just in the bio.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah, there's this thing called it's called transfer YouTube to
- 46:56Speaker 3: MP three, no trust, copy baste and then they go
- 47:00Speaker 3: straight to the iTunes and then boom, I get on it.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Listen. The best way to I'm not even I fuck
- 47:05Speaker 1: with a lot of producers, but the best way to
- 47:07Speaker 1: really steal a beat is to just send it to
- 47:09Speaker 1: a producer who's good enough and be like, can you
- 47:10Speaker 1: reproduce this?
- 47:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's facts, that's fact.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Now that's frowned upon.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Yeah you shouldn't. I get it. Producers probably hate us.
- 47:17Speaker 4: But if we know the producers different, we'll give them
- 47:19Speaker 4: the splits and all that. But there's been times where
- 47:22Speaker 4: we find a producer on YouTube or beat start them
- 47:24Speaker 4: and we'll hit them up and there there's no response.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, I'm gonna just upload your ship,
- 47:29Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. Like the dude, we did
- 47:30Speaker 4: with Shack. He's never reached out that beat, so he
- 47:33Speaker 4: don't know that he has.
- 47:38Speaker 1: You must have like giving up on his dream. Has
- 47:40Speaker 1: no idea that Shacks wrap it on his beat.
- 47:42Speaker 4: No fucking clue, you know what I'm saying. But again,
- 47:45Speaker 4: when the producers reach out, we get the business right,
- 47:47Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. But oftentimes we just find
- 47:50Speaker 4: the beats on the women. It's like, all right, I
- 47:51Speaker 4: don't know who this saying. Yeah, and it's hip hop.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Man, you're independent, you know ship hip hop.
- 47:57Speaker 2: It was made off stealing, so yeah, for sure. Whatever. Yeah,
- 48:01Speaker 2: we've had people what.
- 48:02Speaker 3: Was that dude that hit us up? Was like, hey,
- 48:04Speaker 3: I bought this beat? You guys are rapping up, Like,
- 48:07Speaker 3: all right, buddy, hits ours now? Like, what do you
- 48:09Speaker 3: want to do? Suis sue me?
- 48:11Speaker 1: Fuck it? Take it down? Yeah? How many streams did
- 48:13Speaker 1: you get on the one that you bought? Nothing?
- 48:17Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 48:18Speaker 3: It was nothing because we looked it up and we're like,
- 48:20Speaker 3: what the fuck this shit got like fucking thirty plays?
- 48:23Speaker 3: Bro and the kicker is a lot of people use
- 48:25Speaker 3: that beat, so I send them a lot of songs
- 48:26Speaker 3: I love.
- 48:27Speaker 1: How many people use this beat?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Like, while you hitting us up because he's seen it
- 48:30Speaker 3: was the most traction, like, hey this is my beat,
- 48:32Speaker 3: I bought it, I used it, blahlah blah blah blah.
- 48:35Speaker 3: And I was like, what are you gonna do, Suis
- 48:36Speaker 3: fuck it dude, the producer.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Fuck dudecause you already let eight other rappers wrap over
- 48:40Speaker 4: there too.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Motherfuckers used to resell beats.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I'm trying to get sued, bro, to be honest, I
- 48:45Speaker 3: want to get sued. It's gonna show me that I'm
- 48:47Speaker 3: doing something right.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Alchemist once had a beat that he sold to Jadakiss
- 48:52Speaker 5: and raz Cast and raz Cast disstant On van Goya,
- 48:58Speaker 5: at least on the Van Go demo that they were
- 49:00Speaker 5: passing out of Tower Records.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Okay, you know Alchemists. Yeah man, I'm trying that. That's
- 49:05Speaker 4: our next collab project. We're trying to well.
- 49:08Speaker 5: Alchemists is, in my opinion, uh to Go, possibly the
- 49:11Speaker 5: greatest of all time.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Yeah, up there he's up there, Bro.
- 49:14Speaker 2: What I like for what we like?
- 49:15Speaker 5: Think about the run he's been on the last like
- 49:17Speaker 5: fucking five or six years, bro, Like Alfredo Grammy nominated
- 49:21Speaker 5: he did with Larry June, Like all these collab albums
- 49:23Speaker 5: he's doing like it's like his second breath is so
- 49:26Speaker 5: crazy and for the ship that like you definitely I
- 49:28Speaker 5: think Kanye, Timberland, all those guys you know who.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Got a sick This is like you know who got
- 49:35Speaker 3: nick as second breath of fresh air, Bro, Limp, Biscuit,
- 49:38Speaker 3: Fred Durst and them out of nowhere. Bro, They're going crazy.
- 49:42Speaker 3: They're the world fucking packing that ship out. And it's
- 49:46Speaker 3: not like old motherfuckers in the crowd. There's a bunch
- 49:48Speaker 3: of young motherfuckers in the crowd going crazy.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie, dude.
- 49:52Speaker 4: You know we got a Fred Durt's feature coming to
- 49:55Speaker 4: we did? We linked up with Dj Lethal Legend.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been fucking shopping Biscuit.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 50:02Speaker 1: I liked Significant Other a lot. That's a great album.
- 50:06Speaker 4: The first album I ever stole was the Chocolate Star Fist.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Hot Flavored Water. So some of their songs haven't aged
- 50:15Speaker 1: the best.
- 50:16Speaker 2: No, I haven't heard that album along.
- 50:17Speaker 3: You know roll that Rolling song was a smash right
- 50:20Speaker 3: from what I remember. That's but now, like when you
- 50:22Speaker 3: hear it, rolling is kind of hard. Breakstuff is breaks
- 50:27Speaker 3: up is hard rolling, and you hear it is kind
- 50:28Speaker 3: of cheesy.
- 50:29Speaker 5: Bump break stuff to but like that ship the ship
- 50:31Speaker 5: with method Man pretty hard hardest, hardest.
- 50:36Speaker 2: That beat is still one of its beats.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Ever, when a freestyle over that.
- 50:42Speaker 3: I think, I think I've written to that beat multiple times,
- 50:45Speaker 3: but then the verses goes somewhere else.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Yeah, fire beat.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Rocking, Yeah, all that a good era.
- 50:54Speaker 4: That was a good era, bro, your t R my
- 50:56Speaker 4: childhood exactly, DM mad Black Kid. You know, and what
- 51:01Speaker 4: you think of Eminem ship Man. I saw you do
- 51:03Speaker 4: a post about it, the verse or the video he rapped.
- 51:09Speaker 4: It's like, the video is fucking great. No, the video
- 51:12Speaker 4: is great. I thought he had some videos artis. But
- 51:16Speaker 4: I think that as a song.
- 51:19Speaker 1: To me, he made that song for people like me
- 51:21Speaker 1: who remember nostalgia because because when he used to put
- 51:24Speaker 1: his old albums.
- 51:25Speaker 3: His first, his first record is always the one picking.
- 51:29Speaker 2: But it's like, how I love I don't.
- 51:31Speaker 3: I don't like eminem slander at all. You know, I'm
- 51:33Speaker 3: a hip hop d I understand.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And I actually thought music to be murdered by it.
- 51:37Speaker 3: This is my album, and I got excited about kill Jady,
- 51:41Speaker 3: the whole thing that he's doing right now.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I'm a little.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Excited about I'm excited to the title kN slim Shady's
- 51:46Speaker 3: dead or whatever. But I think him doing the guess
- 51:48Speaker 3: Who's back all the time, Like how many guess whose
- 51:50Speaker 3: back songs do we need?
- 51:51Speaker 1: This is what I say.
- 51:52Speaker 5: I think I understand. I understand what he was trying
- 51:54Speaker 5: to do. Yeah, I thought there was some good rapping
- 51:56Speaker 5: on their. Eminem is always gonna be good rapping.
- 51:58Speaker 1: For sure.
- 52:00Speaker 5: I don't love the song. My friend hates it. Who
- 52:04Speaker 5: I posted his text.
- 52:05Speaker 1: He was like, I've never wanted somebody to be addicted
- 52:07Speaker 1: to drugs again. See, I'm an Eminem stand So dude,
- 52:12Speaker 1: you have to listen because I am an Eminem fucking
- 52:15Speaker 1: fan and I've been so vocally like hating from like Recovery.
- 52:21Speaker 1: I like recovery, but anything out of recovery recovery, but
- 52:25Speaker 1: anything after that relapse recovery where no relap.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Recovery is good, but relaps wasn't relapse. Relapsed to me
- 52:35Speaker 2: was his last good album.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I think I think good.
- 52:39Speaker 2: I like Recovery good, bro, if you look at the
- 52:41Speaker 2: raps in there and the.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Content, it's one of the lyrically strongest album. Accent was weird, bro.
- 52:48Speaker 3: I know once you get past the accent and you're
- 52:50Speaker 3: looking at his wordplay and the concept of his records.
- 52:54Speaker 2: Three Crazy whatever will so Cold, the song will go.
- 53:02Speaker 2: That song crazy.
- 53:04Speaker 1: So to me like anything after Recovery so like I
- 53:07Speaker 1: hated Marshall Mathers LP two. I thought Revivals. I think
- 53:10Speaker 1: Revival is one of the worst albums.
- 53:12Speaker 2: That I don't know. If I heard Revival, it's.
- 53:14Speaker 1: It's the worst. It might be the worst hip hop
- 53:16Speaker 1: album by a major artist. It is an absolute I
- 53:20Speaker 1: don't I don't stand by these words. Kama Cozi was
- 53:24Speaker 1: very hard.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I didn't hear Kamaki you.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Know what to murdered by was fucking fire good. That's
- 53:30Speaker 1: eminem album since probably I heard it once.
- 53:35Speaker 3: I heard it once and I never went back to it,
- 53:37Speaker 3: so I probably got to go back.
- 53:39Speaker 5: To you remember like on like Eminem Show and the
- 53:42Speaker 5: g and the Ship, like he was like making beats
- 53:44Speaker 5: that sound like you would used to be able to
- 53:46Speaker 5: hear Eminem produce beating me like, oh, that sounds like
- 53:48Speaker 5: an Eminem bat. Like when he did nas is the Cross,
- 53:50Speaker 5: like like Renegade did the Cross?
- 53:53Speaker 2: Yes, the version Mary carry the Cross that's.
- 53:57Speaker 1: On that's a minem bat. What he pretty.
- 54:01Speaker 2: That was God. I love that song.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I don't know this is the thing, like I feel
- 54:08Speaker 1: like music to be murdered by. It sounded like a
- 54:11Speaker 1: fucking Eminem album. Again, it wasn't like him trying to
- 54:13Speaker 1: and then other thing like I wish you was stopped
- 54:15Speaker 1: working with Skyler Gray Dog.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Like he's trying to make the records and like.
- 54:20Speaker 5: At least like you know, they got some records. I
- 54:23Speaker 5: can appreciate the sky of the Great Pink Songs gotta.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Stop, though.
- 54:27Speaker 2: I like him when he's on his demonic ship and
- 54:29Speaker 2: he's like when he's darking on drugs for sure, like
- 54:32Speaker 2: that song with.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Bro.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I think this motherfucker is just speaking Chinese to us
- 54:37Speaker 3: because he got so technical and good that it's like
- 54:41Speaker 3: not good. You know, it's like so many like damn,
- 54:44Speaker 3: you got to rewind and hear what he said here
- 54:46Speaker 3: and this.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Like cannabis man, like two thousand BC was tough.
- 54:50Speaker 4: I think I think Eminem is strictly on how good
- 54:53Speaker 4: it is and not focused on is this a good how.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Good of a rapper am I going to be on?
- 54:59Speaker 1: I like, listen, I like music to be murdered by.
- 55:01Speaker 2: I need to hear it.
- 55:02Speaker 1: It's a really really, really really good album.
- 55:04Speaker 2: I'm excited about that.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I'm excited for the album too, because at the end
- 55:08Speaker 1: of the day, if you know, this is the warm up,
- 55:12Speaker 1: and this is like a vintage eminem warm up, for sure,
- 55:14Speaker 1: it should be a good album.
- 55:15Speaker 4: He was gussing the videos dope, video is dope. It's
- 55:19Speaker 4: just to me, I guess I didn't like that. It
- 55:20Speaker 4: was two nostalgic for me a couple because I want
- 55:22Speaker 4: to hear something new, right Versus's.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Thing obviously made that for people like us who are
- 55:27Speaker 1: like into his like but if it didn't connect.
- 55:30Speaker 2: With us, yeah, but it did, though it didn't connect
- 55:33Speaker 2: with a lot of.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But but I'm saying, like, who's the demographic for this ship?
- 55:37Speaker 2: Yeah it was it.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Ain't nobody belove thirty. Ain't nobody really like you know
- 55:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like, But a lot of people love it.
- 55:44Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 55:44Speaker 2: I think it's just I mean that shit went stupid viral.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Maybe it was number one. People do love it.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 55:50Speaker 1: And for the record, I don't even hate it. I
- 55:52Speaker 1: think it's just okay.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Middle America is pretty big, exactly, But you know.
- 55:57Speaker 3: What, we need him over like them nineteen ninety nine
- 56:01Speaker 3: beats like the fucking I just don't give a fuck
- 56:04Speaker 3: beats like bringing back to some Boom back.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Listen.
- 56:07Speaker 5: I didn't think KI was absolute. I thought it was
- 56:10Speaker 5: just I'm like, dog, I'm not going to re listen
- 56:13Speaker 5: to this. Yeah, Like I get it. The video was cool,
- 56:16Speaker 5: the concept was cool. Like the visually. I feel like,
- 56:18Speaker 5: if you want, if you listen to the song, because
- 56:20Speaker 5: I fucked up and I heard the song before I
- 56:22Speaker 5: watched the video and I was.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Like, this ship is whatever.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Dog.
- 56:26Speaker 1: Then you see the video and you're like, oh.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just what he was doing.
- 56:31Speaker 1: I get it. It's paying how muge to all his
- 56:34Speaker 1: old videos. I get it, Like hopefully there's some dre
- 56:37Speaker 1: fucking beats on me and hopefully, you know, just not
- 56:41Speaker 1: Skylar Gray Bright.
- 56:42Speaker 4: What was that song, bro, the Devil in Side where
- 56:44Speaker 4: he's like when the Devil comes and he's like suspending
- 56:47Speaker 4: an animation like somebody's hold like hold to me there,
- 56:50Speaker 4: Like when he's just on his fucking like comic book.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Characters before all of that infinite he's talking about like
- 56:57Speaker 2: a hunted house or something, right, and he's like the
- 57:00Speaker 2: books are flying off, flying off shelves. Yeah, I love
- 57:04Speaker 2: That's one of my biggest influences.
