- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Becca Tilly and Tanya Red and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in. Nah, it's it's just
- 0:20Speaker 2: we're on a break this week. So this is a
- 0:22Speaker 2: pre recorded episode, but we just wanted to give you
- 0:25Speaker 2: something to say.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Happy fourth of July. Happy fourth of July. When I
- 0:31Speaker 1: was a kid, this was my favorite holiday.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Tell me more.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It was like summertime, so the weather was always nice.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I was always in a pool. I was always eating
- 0:40Speaker 1: those popsicles, those like little rocket chips. You're like blue
- 0:45Speaker 1: and white and red. What were those called rocket pops?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Rocket pops? Yeah, I always had a rocket pop in
- 0:51Speaker 1: hand or a shaved ice on deck with a hot dog.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And I don't know, I just have like very fond
- 0:58Speaker 1: memories of like watching the fireworks my family.
- 1:01Speaker 2: M just celebrating.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that it was my favorite holiday,
- 1:08Speaker 2: but I've always enjoyed Fourth of July.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'm I like, I like the month
- 1:14Speaker 1: of July. Like I think also because my birthdays in July,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I feel like connected to the month, and my d
- 1:21Speaker 1: date was actually the fourth of July.
- 1:24Speaker 2: You were delayed.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like two weeks late that I was
- 1:28Speaker 1: like fully developed and I was like shitting in my
- 1:29Speaker 1: mom's uterus. Yeah, they had to like pump my lungs
- 1:33Speaker 1: after my mom gave birth because I was like swallowing
- 1:37Speaker 1: my own stuff.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Oh, it's a lot of information for this little episode.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah. So I always, I don't know, I feel like
- 1:48Speaker 1: connected to the fourth of July. Yeah.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I also like I think, like obviously there's a lot
- 1:56Speaker 2: going on in our country, and it's there, there's there
- 2:00Speaker 2: there times where it's like, okay, I need if I'm
- 2:03Speaker 2: repping the American flag, I'm doing it in a way.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It's freedom for all basically. But I love a hot dog,
- 2:12Speaker 2: I love a soty. I still like feel like we
- 2:15Speaker 2: are like the greatest country. And I feel like watching
- 2:19Speaker 2: like the World Cup and people coming from different countries
- 2:23Speaker 2: and experiencing like American culture, and it felt like this
- 2:26Speaker 2: unity that we've been needing and getting to see people
- 2:30Speaker 2: like share each other's cultures was such a uplifting moment.
- 2:34Speaker 2: And people, you know, are like amazed by the things
- 2:39Speaker 2: that we have here, and it made me feel like Okay,
- 2:41Speaker 2: like I it is like such a privilege to live here,
- 2:44Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, and I I was watching video my
- 2:49Speaker 2: dad made me like a disc of home videos and
- 2:53Speaker 2: it was on a CD or DVD, and so I
- 2:55Speaker 2: didn't have any way to watch it for you. He
- 2:57Speaker 2: made this years ago for me, and so I got
- 2:59Speaker 2: it put on a little USB thing, and so I
- 3:01Speaker 2: was watching it the other day and it was like
- 3:03Speaker 2: videos of us on the slip in slide out the
- 3:05Speaker 2: side of the yard. And my dad was a football
- 3:08Speaker 2: high school football coach, and so my brother and I
- 3:11Speaker 2: would go out and like run routes while he threw
- 3:13Speaker 2: the football to us. And I just think of those
- 3:16Speaker 2: summers of being in our neighbor's pool and also rocket
- 3:20Speaker 2: pops and hot dogs and.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Care free yeah summer.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Actually, so I was thinking about, well, first of all,
- 3:28Speaker 1: it's been celebrated your one year engagement anniversary. Oh yes,
- 3:33Speaker 1: which is crazy.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Whole year, that's crazy, I know.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I was thinking about where I was last fourth of July.
- 3:39Speaker 1: We were actually on our honeymoon. Oh yeah, yeah, so
- 3:42Speaker 1: we weren't even in the us of a.
- 3:44Speaker 2: What are y'all doing this year? Is Robbie grilling, barbecue brawling?
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't know, we honestly have no plans, So, like
- 3:50Speaker 1: I think, I think after our winter break debacle and
- 3:56Speaker 1: like losing lots of money on our travels because of
- 4:01Speaker 1: my situation, I think we've been a little hesitant to
- 4:04Speaker 1: book any travels. So we're kind of in this not
- 4:11Speaker 1: booking anything until the last minute. So I have no
- 4:14Speaker 1: idea what we're doing on the fourth of July. Exciting, Yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 1: we could be here, we could be grilling, we could
- 4:20Speaker 1: be heading to Palm Springs, like, I have no idea. Well, yeah,
- 4:23Speaker 1: the world is our oyster.
- 4:25Speaker 2: What about y'all. Euston, We don't have.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Any plans either, And we're going to go up to Idlewild.
- 4:31Speaker 3: We like to go up there a lot. We will
- 4:32Speaker 3: be up there this week and I don't know if
- 4:36Speaker 3: we'll be there on the fourth of July. Maybe we will.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Maybe we'll do some sparklers, eat some hot dogs. I
- 4:42Speaker 3: appreciate this great country we live in. I've done more
- 4:45Speaker 3: world travel in the last month than I have any
- 4:49Speaker 3: other time in my life. And something I thought was
- 4:53Speaker 3: kind of cool was like, like I went to like
- 4:54Speaker 3: Argentina and I was in London and I was talking
- 4:57Speaker 3: to people and when they found out it was from America.
- 4:59Speaker 3: They were just like, oh my god, like all the
- 5:02Speaker 3: great movies are from there. You have all those like
- 5:04Speaker 3: incredible people that make this art that and it made
- 5:08Speaker 3: me feel very proud to be I'm always proud to
- 5:10Speaker 3: be American, but we are so lucky to live to
- 5:13Speaker 3: live here in the United States and happy to fifty America.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Yeahy fifty.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You know what I was actually thinking about on last
- 5:23Speaker 1: fourth of July, it was like the tail end. We
- 5:25Speaker 1: were just finishing our honeymoon and there was like this
- 5:28Speaker 1: beach right so like it was the beach the hotel
- 5:31Speaker 1: was just had it's like its own beach and it
- 5:33Speaker 1: was quite large. And I remember looking at Robbie being like,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I want to swim from the bottom to the top
- 5:38Speaker 1: of this beach and he's like, are you crazy, And
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I think we could do it. It would
- 5:42Speaker 1: be so fun. Drank a pina colada and we did it,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and it took a half an hour, thirty five minutes,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but we swam the whole length of the beach. And
- 5:53Speaker 1: that was my Fourth of July last year, so active. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: you know me, Well, because I'm a cancer crab, we
- 5:59Speaker 1: like to one with the water.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, right, yeah, Okay, they're doing a
- 6:21Speaker 2: nine hundred pound time capsule. It's being buried in Philadelphia
- 6:24Speaker 2: on July fourth, and it won't be opened until July fourth.
- 6:28Speaker 2: How do you even say this? Twenty two to seventy six, Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 2: twenty two seventy six.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Two thousand and twenty two, twenty two hundred and seventy six, No,
- 6:41Speaker 1: nineteen seventy six.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty two seventy six, A long time from now, essentially,
- 6:45Speaker 2: and it will include a diamond from Arkansas, a North
- 6:50Speaker 2: Atlantic right whale bone for Maine, stainless steel coin containing
- 6:55Speaker 2: the full text of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution
- 6:58Speaker 2: from arizonaundreds of letters, postcards, poems, posters, and other paper documents.
- 7:04Speaker 2: The time capsule reminded me that my senior year, when
- 7:07Speaker 2: we did our senior prank, we buried a time capsule,
- 7:10Speaker 2: and I don't know if we ever were able to
- 7:12Speaker 2: find it and dig it up.
- 7:13Speaker 1: You know what. I buried a time capsule in my
- 7:15Speaker 1: parents backyard too.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, i' whatmore?
- 7:20Speaker 1: I don't yeah, I thought my parents are going to
- 7:21Speaker 1: live there forever. Now dig it up? Who's living in there?
- 7:25Speaker 2: I know?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Digging up my.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Just I used to do time capsules everywhere. I had
- 7:32Speaker 2: a few and different spots. Really, it's like a big
- 7:35Speaker 2: I was big into that.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I buried some crystals in my Brentwood apartment too. On
- 7:40Speaker 1: the side of that that old bar that's recent.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a recent time.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah we should go dig them up. Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 2: If you could put one thing in a time capsule
- 7:50Speaker 2: right now, what would you bury that you could dig
- 7:54Speaker 2: up in twenty.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Years My wedding dress, my gosh.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Some big time cup, so big burial.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I don't know what to do with it.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got some sheet metal I need to get rid.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Of, and some extra tiles from the.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Dumpster, you know. The time capsule, I don't know. I'd
- 8:17Speaker 3: probably put see it sucks because it's something important. I
- 8:21Speaker 3: don't want to put something important down there.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It should be something important, like I think about.
- 8:25Speaker 3: The People's Choice Award, but like I want that to
- 8:28Speaker 3: be buried with me, the eternal time capsule, you know,
- 8:32Speaker 3: but or like an.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Old laptop, like my laptop before my new laptop, Like
- 8:36Speaker 1: what's on there?
- 8:37Speaker 2: You love a big item, You're really trying to dig
- 8:39Speaker 2: a hole, big hole. Maybe I'm might do like an
- 8:44Speaker 2: one of my old iPhones. Yeah, okay, that's good, Yeah
- 8:48Speaker 2: that I still have.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I would do that probably.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd probably put like a I have like an
- 8:56Speaker 3: eminem to Spenser on my desk, probably put that guy
- 8:59Speaker 3: in there.
- 9:01Speaker 2: There.
- 9:01Speaker 3: There was a time capsule that they period a Nickelodeon's
- 9:03Speaker 3: studios in like nineteen ninety four, and I've been waiting
- 9:06Speaker 3: for the day they're going to open it, but it's not.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Twenty forty two is when that wing's getting up, And so.
- 9:10Speaker 2: How did they deter? Like, why is this one twenty
- 9:12Speaker 2: two seventy six, because that's is that two hundred and
- 9:15Speaker 2: fifty years from now?
- 9:16Speaker 3: I think that is tw hundred and fifty years from now?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Don't ask me, No, I wasn't going Speaking of wedding dresses, yeah,
- 9:24Speaker 1: should we go looking for yearsol feels like time, but
- 9:29Speaker 1: been a year engaged time to when.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You picked yours. You didn't know where you were getting
- 9:34Speaker 2: married yet, right, but you had an idea, Right, you
- 9:36Speaker 2: knew you wanted a beach.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I know, No, I didn't know I wanted beach. I
- 9:40Speaker 1: just knew I wanted warm. I wanted warm. I don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: want rain on my wedding day.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I just am trying to figure out what the vibe is,
- 9:47Speaker 2: because where's the thing.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I understand. But I think you're just gonna try on
- 9:53Speaker 1: every single dress and then the one that's it, that's
- 9:56Speaker 1: just going to be it, and it's just going to
- 9:58Speaker 1: work wherever you get married, you know what I mean.
- 10:00Speaker 1: And I just saw on the beach my.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Verital guide me. What, Like, I'm just scared that if
- 10:07Speaker 2: I find a dress that I love but it's not
- 10:09Speaker 2: the vibe of something that I pictured, it's gonna steer
- 10:13Speaker 2: me in a different direction, you know what I'm saying. Oh,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I mean like we could go just try on for
- 10:19Speaker 2: fun and see, like what shape I like? Yeah, because
- 10:22Speaker 2: I don't know, but I don't see myself in like
- 10:25Speaker 2: a big wedding ball gown, you know, Like that's not
- 10:29Speaker 2: what I envisioned for me.
- 10:30Speaker 1: What do you envision.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I don't know, something where my waist is snatched.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Well mine was snatched and I still had like a
- 10:38Speaker 1: ball gown.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but yours was like very I would say, yours
- 10:42Speaker 2: was still like very chic like and secy. Oh really, no,
- 10:49Speaker 2: like in a good way?
- 10:49Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I felt like it was like a proper
- 10:52Speaker 1: wedding dress, but I still felt like it snatched me.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was perfect. I loved your dress.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I was obsessed with your dress. Yeah, and I feel
- 11:00Speaker 2: like it hadn't work in any setting.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Remember we tried it on and it was like, this
- 11:07Speaker 1: is the one.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you need to look no further. Yeah we found it.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Every other dress I tried on before was like.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Boo, I know, so you put one on you knew immediately, Yeah,
- 11:18Speaker 3: pretty much.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I cried.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It looked so good in this Sam It was a
- 11:22Speaker 2: sample and it fit her like a glovely so they
- 11:25Speaker 2: didn't even have to really like do anything to it.
- 11:29Speaker 1: The length and like, yeah, it didn't require much tailoring.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I need to remember your experience because it was
- 11:35Speaker 2: like a very much like this.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But what's so funny is like all the dresses I
- 11:39Speaker 1: tried on before I literally looked like it's so bad.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Like it was like just really obvious that this dress
- 11:47Speaker 1: was like made for me. I don't know how to
- 11:48Speaker 1: explain it, Like I feel like every other dress, Like
- 11:50Speaker 1: I was looking back at photos of some of the
- 11:51Speaker 1: ones I tried on, and I was like I looked
- 11:53Speaker 1: like a little kid, like dressing up in like wedding dresses,
- 11:56Speaker 1: do you know what I mean?
- 11:57Speaker 2: Like, that's all I feel like I'm gonna feel.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like, but they do. They all feel like that
- 12:01Speaker 1: until you find the one and you're like, oh my gosh,
- 12:03Speaker 1: this is this is it? Yeah, they all look like,
- 12:07Speaker 1: oh my gosh, I should I should start some throwbacks
- 12:09Speaker 1: because I looked ridiculous in some of these dresses.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I don't remember you looking ridiculous in any of the
- 12:16Speaker 2: ones that I was there for.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Buckle up, girl.
- 12:18Speaker 2: But maybe I should start looking into into trying them on,
- 12:25Speaker 2: just so I can get an idea, because it could
- 12:26Speaker 2: be along, it could be a long journey, it could
- 12:28Speaker 2: be a battle.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't think you're gonna have it
- 12:31Speaker 1: in you. I think I did. I did. I did
- 12:35Speaker 1: four places, and by that fourth place, I was like,
- 12:38Speaker 1: I'm finding it here.
- 12:40Speaker 2: We're different in that way, though.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Oh you will search. I know you will search leaps
- 12:44Speaker 1: and bounds to find the dress.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, I'm worried. I'm gonna try something in love
- 12:48Speaker 2: it and be like, but could there be something better?
- 12:50Speaker 1: Oh No, I don't know. Maybe or a better syndrome.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I don't have that.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Uh. Yeah, I guess like grass is greener syndrome.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I don't really have it with anything, but id it
- 13:00Speaker 2: has seen me having it with an outfit joint.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I know. I have a friend that went to one
- 13:03Speaker 1: hundred bridle like dress shops to find her dress. I'm like,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I wouldn't.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I don't rather be doing that.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I would rather do anything one hundred times than that.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I think I'd max out at five places. I'd be like,
- 13:15Speaker 2: surely if I've something, it's me. It's a me problem
- 13:18Speaker 2: if I haven't found one yet.
- 13:19Speaker 1: But I think hitting the boutiques is better than the designers,
- 13:23Speaker 1: like the like the the ones that have.
- 13:26Speaker 2: All different brands.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yes, I agree, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Because then you can narrow it down. Yes, so yeah
- 13:33Speaker 2: we can. I mean once Haley decompresses, we can.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Jumping to go together.
- 13:39Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying about like wedding planning in general. Oh,
- 13:42Speaker 2: really getting down to the nitty gritty.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I love that you and for me, well.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Everyone, I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Happy birthday America to Bird girl, you are doing it.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You are doing it girl, to.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Look at they were twenty one and be safe.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Have a hot dog or hamburger or something vegetarian if
- 14:10Speaker 2: that's what you choose, and have a rocket.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Pop yeah, rocket dog.
- 14:14Speaker 2: A rocket pop with a rocket dog. Yeah. We love
- 14:18Speaker 2: you so much.
- 14:19Speaker 1: We love you. Bye bye
