[upbeat music] Hey, those guys were on their phones, kind of took 'em- I'm getting my shoulders...
0:16
took 'em by surprise with that jamming right at- Ding... 6:00 PM Like, oh, six on the head... 6:00 PM, uh- Right on the barrel head... music action. Hey, everybody, it's Full Spectrum Cycling. Show number
0:30
253 it says on this thing. That is correct, sir. All right then. I couldn't think of anything clever with that very- Doesn't really lend itself to anything, does it?
0:38
Yeah, it's like your early 50s birthdays or something Except it makes 10. It, it adds up to 10. Okay. 10. 10. Uh- Let's sing a song of 10... Dudley Moore. How many is 10? 10- Dudley Moore and Bo Derek... 10 Duangs...
0:51
slowly running down the beach. Oh, yeah. That was a good... Bolero. I re- Good film... is that your I registered for Riverwest 24? Oh, yeah. I've got that sticker somewhere. Yeah.
1:01
I stuck it on my dash today 'cause it was on my coat and it kind of fell off. Nice. Well, might as well start with the registration then, eh? I guess. We're here, huh?
1:09
So, um, uh- [laughs] So did y'all, did y'all wait in line? I did. A little bit. Well, no, I didn't wait in line. [laughs] I was at the front of the line. We, we waited a little bit in line. Yeah.
1:19
Thanks for bringing coffee. Oh, you're welcome. Delicious. So what I was thinking was you had put something on the book face about it, and Jessica asked what time you got there.
1:29
And I was like, "I don't know if I should answer that because people will know that they don't have to get there the day before anymore." They'll be like, "Well, I'll get there at 6:00 tomorrow." I didn't see Jess ask.
1:37
I didn't, I didn't see her respond. Oh. Yeah, I was be like, "Well, he got there at quarter after 7:00 and still number, well, two- Two... essentially." But yeah. So it went well.
1:46
But technically we're team 26, so it doesn't matter. Yeah. That's the whole deal is why waste your time? Show up at... Well, no, you can't show up at 10 to 10 because there was already a huge line.
1:55
[laughs] The line was, like, two blocks long. It was two blocks long. Well, you're gonna... If you're waiting in line for VIP, you're gonna get in. Yes. Well- Right. You are going in... eventually you may not.
2:04
You will get in. So the lottery is whatever's left. True. Yeah. So as long as... That, you know, that's the mentality that I was given- We know your mentality... about that. [laughs] Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
2:19
And I played it just right. So how many do you think people were in the lottery still? Right at the end when he was threatening that this is the last number to be called- Did some people not get in? I don't know.
2:34
I kind of bailed- Oh... because it, it was getting stretched out at the end to see if they could accommodate. Oh. Yeah, and- But there seemed to be a lot that... But a lot of them queued up for perfect strangers. Right.
2:45
So which was what you get at the end. At the very end. Yeah. Yep, yep. So- Which is you don't know anybody on your team, if anybody- Although-... doesn't already know that...
2:54
although talking to, I'm terrible with her name, but the lady we always see at Amorphic right before I came here because I got here early and I stopped and had a beer, go figure.
3:03
Um, she's gonna have a tandem for people to ride, and then it dawned on us, convoy tandems. Like, if there's two people on a tandem, that doesn't count- No... 'cause you need- No... you need- Like a fleet...
3:19
a fleet of tandems... a fleet of tandems... three tandems- Oh, a fleet... tandeming together. Oh, God. So does convoy mean bikes or people? Convoy is all the riders have to be on the course at the same time. Right.
3:30
So I would suppose a tandem and two cyclists would be fine. Gotcha. So that would be four people. Four people. But you could have three people on individual bikes and still be- Ca- as long as you're all-...
3:40
and still be a convoy... the whole deal with convoy is all three of you or X amount of people have to hit all the checkpoints at the same time. Right. Yeah, that seems like a good thing. You're always riding together.
3:48
But tandem convoy. And who's, and who's the youngest guy on our team? [laughs] 'Cause when can we be elder? Oh, I, I- Because that elderly, the elderly team... think Pedro. I think Tony and I are already in on elder.
4:00
Yeah, it's either Anthony or Pedro. By the way, that's Tony. I'm Tony. JK is over there with his, uh, 2022 RW24 shirt on. Don't be a jerk, man. 23. 23. 2022. I'm looking at it. Oh. It says 22. What a stain.
4:13
Nice stain, dude. [laughs] If you need a spare one of those, I have four. I'm Sven, by the way. Sure. Just- All right, Sven... in case nobody knew that already. Uh, so yeah, so that- Sven likes GPS...
4:23
so that went well, and that went well. Went well. I, I'm not gonna bring up the, the home front and how I got yelled at for not telling my kids. I am gonna bring it up, I guess- [laughs]...
4:35
for not telling my kids that registration was coming up because every year during the 24 they're like, or at least Sydney for sure, "Oh, I wanna do that." All right.
4:44
Well, am I supposed to remind you or can you just figure it out on your own that you can go to the website and figure it out? You're supposed to remind her, Greg, apparently. Apparently I'm supposed to remind her, so.
4:51
There's a happy medium somewhere. Yeah. I, I'm s- [laughs] I'm probably talking to Wendy by now, by the time this show airs. [laughs] Ouch. Well, it's- I asked my daughter to ride and she said, "I'll think about it."
5:04
I'm like, "Then you lose." [laughs] Yeah. You're not riding. No. Uh, so- Well, registration also is your opportunity to give the money- Right... to, and then have somebody else accurately time you, and that's it. Right.
5:22
That's really it. Right. And I said- I mean, if, if I wouldn't have got in- St-... I would've just ridden around... still ridden, ridden anyway. Yeah, yeah. So- Which I agree... I timed myself out that way. You know?
5:32
I did, I did send a t- At the end of the day, it worked... I sent a family text that said, "Volunteer this year. Here's the email address. Then you'll be a VIP. You'll be sure to get in next year.
5:42
They'll send you a bunch of emails to remind you that it's coming up." Right. That's the key.
5:46
"And just spend your two hours or four hours or whatever it is that you're gonna do to volunteer somewhere during this year's event, and then next year- And then you'll get in next year... you're golden."
5:55
So- And I didn't get heckled too badly- Problem solved... by, by Jeremy though. [laughs] Just a slight, just a smidge. All right. A little smidge. That's our Riverwest 24 thing.
6:05
Well, it was a heck of a weekend for music Hell, yeah. Yeah, it was... around our Milwaukee area. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
6:12
Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. I'm sorry, I've got that... That's gonna be stuck in my head. Is- was that a cowbell? Yes. Uh, Los Straitjackets at, uh, Shank Hall. Port Shank Hall. Port Shank. Same night.
6:24
Awesome show. Awesome show. So you probably could have made it to Jake at Vegas, possibly. I was on my way, and then I was like, "I just wanna go home. I'm tired." Right on. And that's what I ended up doing.
6:37
What time was that going to- Well, I think Jake started close to 10:00, and then Mike, uh, what's-his-mug- Yeah... was after, so that went till- Okay... about midnight- Okay... give or take.
6:47
No, I would've missed out on that. Uh, I don't... Yeah, I don't know how late Shank Hall goes. Well, Sha- it was, it, it was longer than I was expecting, but- Here's, here's one of the greatest things-...
6:56
I lost track of... Time is a flat circle, man... this is one of the greatest things that happened this weekend. The first mosh pit ever at Amorphic. Nice. Is that right? Thanks to- Wow.
7:05
I was- Partially thanks to Alex and Ron. I- Ron wanted... He was started a little moshing, and then Alex was up, where 'cause I pushed her in there, and, and then more people joined in- I didn't know Alex did that...
7:15
and, and there was some moshing to M545, which is Juan- That's a little super group, I noticed... Ju- yeah. Yeah. It's Juan from Size 5, Scotty from Lack of Reason, and- Which we saw- saw him twice 'cause- Yeah...
7:28
Lack of Reason opened- Opened... the whole day. Right. Yeah, so good stuff. Yeah, he's the, he's the dude that, like, ha- like, when he's warming up his wrists, it's amazing.
7:36
It's like- Like, with the flibbity, flibbity, flibbity, flibbity... yeah. No, no, no, no. I can't even do it, like, any justice whatsoever, but it's like a- Wow... like a metronome, uh, like ramped all the way up. Right.
7:44
That's what a drummer is- Cool. Yeah... a human metronome. I know. It just, uh, it's- Good to know... terribly impressive. Yeah, so that's- And the other guy I know.
7:51
I see him everywhere, and I [knocking] can't remember the damn- Uh... name. It's ticking me off. Or what other bands he's in.
7:57
Yeah, I'll have to give that a little thought, but- Oh, he's, uh, he was, uh, part of Dick's, uh, Dick's Satan Trio. Oh, okay. There you go. It wasn't Russ. No, a bass player. Not, not, not, not- Russ plays bass...
8:07
not the Russ. That wasn't the Russ. Not Russ from... The owner of, of- Faloon... of- The Faloon... the Falcon Bowl. Yep. Yep. All right. So that's music. Uh, also Adventure Cycling rolled through our town. Yeah.
8:20
I think we touched on it- Thursday?... touched on it last week. Yeah, Thursday. Uh, Noel Kegel from Wheel & Sprocket is on the board.
8:27
I believe he's the treasurer, so he's the one responsible for pilfering all the funds from- Saw him last night... [laughs] from Adventure Cycling. No. Highly doubt it. Uh, it was a great event.
8:36
There wares, there, there wares, there wa-, there wa-, there were, [laughs] there wares- Whoa, whoa... there was- Put the needle on the record. Put the, put the, put the, put the needle on the record...
8:44
a, a, click, click, click. [laughs] Lots of people attended. Yeah. That's where I'm going with this. [laughs] And, uh, I would say 150- Wow... or more, possibly. Hmm. Was that the Wheel & Sprocket at- Bay View...
8:59
Bay View? Fresh. And they had Foggy Geezer, among other beers, and it cost zero- My... dollars for whatever. Why didn't you text me about that? Zero dollars. You didn't say there was free beer. It's kinda like the 24.
9:12
You kinda gotta make an effort. [laughs] Yeah, exactly. Fuck, if I'd known that. Turnabout's fair play. Our good buddy Dave came down and was, uh, was hawking the, uh, wares for the
9:23
up north routes with bike packing stuff, and he had his Omnium there. So we did a pretty decent, I think, interview outside of Wheel & Sprocket of Dave and his Omnium built for dog packing. Cool. I got... I did... After
9:39
looking at it, I'm like, "Damn, I wish we did some B-roll for it, just to show the bike more." And so I just put it up the way it was because it was... it's decent. He talks a lot about good stuff.
9:50
Mild divergent, but did you see the new Amtrak route to Minnesota? Mm-hmm. I've heard of, have not seen yet. Yeah. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not investing too much of my- I'm pretty-...
10:04
my, my love of it yet because- I think that goes really close to Dave's. Uh- Oh, sure... it's certainly closer than we are right now. I would enjoy that route so much easily. So- I wanna do it... easily.
10:16
I, I, I need an excuse to go to Minneapolis. I love it. Well, there's that, and there's L- LA Cross. All right. And, you know, if you have to go to the Dells, it's eas- So be it... yeah. It's better than driving there.
10:27
Yeah. Absolutely. So. Anyway, so I'll have the... I'll have that video, but Dave is gonna send some... He's gonna do a little video with Cowboy actually in the thing and do a little B-roll that we can...
10:40
I can re-edit this. So look at it now, and then look at it later. Hear me now- Believe me now... believe me later. [laughs] Uh, and I also got to mess around, for you tech geeky people- [laughs]...
10:53
with the, uh, a thing called Podcast AI from Adobe. Okay. Which it was kinda windy, and I didn't put the dead cats on, like, I was like, "Oh, I probably should put the... Ah, whatever. Let's just do this."
11:04
And then there's also a train that goes right by there. Right. Oh, yeah. Like, right next to- Right by there... right by there.
11:10
And so there was s- some ambient noise, you know, some wind and the train and stuff, and- It's atmospheric. Yeah, I, but it- Got you in the mood... uh, as it was recorded, it was a little blustery.
11:19
So this, this Adobe AI thing, you can change how much it's actually doing. So you could, like, take it all the way out, it sounds real unnatural and stupid.
11:27
But you do it, like, halfway, and it makes it better, but you still have the ambient sounds, although they're more muted. [laughs] So if you're wondering how we got that audio so awesome, that's how. I,
11:38
I haven't talked about how much time I spent today fucking with Adobe products. Adobe Schlon- Schlonoby? So it's something like- They are the-... it's like a semi-... worst company to deal with...
11:47
it's like a semi docking. [laughs] Isn't it a semi docking? Semi docking. [laughs] Um- They're horrible to work with... they are, and they- [laughs]... and now you don't buy your product anymore. You...
11:58
No, it's all online, all subscription based. And, and if you have the full on thing where you're using a goodly amount of their stuff, it's 660 bucks a year- Shit... to use their stuff.
12:07
If you are a person that needs to use that stuff, I just saw a thing, and I don't know the dates, but if you do it before May 14th or something and pay for a year, you get it at 40% off, which is, like- A lot...
12:18
I mean, I use- I know...
12:19
several of their things, including Audition, for doing the show, so I'm trying to find a way to replace every single Adobe app with something that works as well or better or close enough and don't have to pay that 660 a year, 'cause that's a lot of money.
12:33
Mm-hmm. Or- Considering the show makes zero- It's, it's-... dollars per year.
12:39
Or you could get a- If only- [laughs] You could get a job with UWM, and then somehow- I was gonna say, if only you knew someone from UWM that could in- log in with it and install it for you.
12:47
Apparently I have a job there already. Oh, yes. Yeah, who knew? In the business, in the business program. Did w- did you put that up there or did he? [laughs] N- I did. Isn't that awesome?
12:55
[laughs] I want my Adobe subsc- Guest lecturer... [laughs] I want my Adobe subscription now. I literally did a double-take when I walked by. I'm like- You're, you're gonna have to, uh- "Craig Smith"...
13:02
show up to a Business Administration 260 and 263- Yeah... or something like that. I can't remember which ones they were. Right? I, I saw my, my office hours are very short.
13:10
And, and, and make sure it's- 11:00 to 1:00 and, and 5:20 to 2:00 to 4:00... make sure it's north and not south or vice versa. Yeah. 'Cause that building is confusing. I could've done that. Oh, Lord, yes. Yeah.
13:18
It is a- Uh. That is a- I'm used to it again now, but- They're very nice rooms.
13:22
They are very nice, but- So, yeah, so- It, it also, during COVID or pre-COVID, I don't know what happened, but all of the first floor lecture halls are sponsored by a former professor. Mm-hmm. So I'm guessing they- Oh...
13:36
paid for that. Sure. Well, yeah, 'cause, uh, Lubar, Lubar jumped in and got it retitled. Right. Him. Well, no, Lubar- Lubar and the family... that building was always built for Lubar. I think, no, I don't know.
13:47
Yeah, I remember 'cause it was a, it was a lot when I went to school there. Sure. It was a vacant lot. But I don't think, I don't think they named it that right out of the gate.
13:53
I think it was just the Business Administration Building. Mm. I'm not positive, but- We can look into that. We both worked there. Exactly. I'm pretty sure it was Sheldon B. Lubar
14:01
because Cleona was joking about a picture of him on the wall, um, when she was in class there, and she's like, "Wow, he must've been like, you know, he must've been a great person."
14:11
And [laughs] the teacher walked by and was like, "Well, he was here yesterday." [laughs] Ali's like, "Oh, God, he's still alive." [laughs] Not like Jeremiah Curtin. Right, which has the prison building. Oh, yeah.
14:24
Oh, that building's frightening. Boy, there's some weird architecture. For having an architectural school on campus, they have some buildings- Way after all that... that some of those buildings are not so great.
14:32
The AUP started way after...
14:35
They, they didn't even have an architectural program when the College of Business, or, I'm sorry, the Curtin, his frightening building, and Cunningham Hall, which was also another riot building. Yeah, no.
14:48
See the hole in the ceiling? Oh, he's a Virgo. You can see that, yeah. Jeremiah. Jeremiah. Oh, look at him. September 6th 1835 till December 14th 1906. Why do we still have a building named after him?
15:01
He led, he led a blameless life. Wait. Oh, wait. I was gonna say- [laughs] No. Is that, uh- He's not like Erasmus... Erasmus B. Wolcott? Right? Uh- Folklorist, ethnographer, and translator...
15:11
what was Eras- Makes sense... Erasmus' horse's name? First Surgeon General of Wisconsin, folks, if you need your Wisconsin history today. [laughs] We're covering all bases. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
15:23
But, but- But the picture of the guy, a picture of that guy- Huh? Nice beard... is huge. It, I mean, it's, like, the s- size of, like, a wall, but they had to repaint and, like, remodel, and it disappeared. Painted over?
15:37
No, just got dis- it just disappeared. Now it is in the lecture hall, but it, it snuck away for a while, and one of my professors was none too pleased about it. Uh-huh. Well. And he was like, "Where is it?" That's...
15:51
This is belchy beer. I just belchied. Oh, wait. Are we there? [bell dings] Oh, yeah, we could be there. That'll save me something to talk about after we have a beer. All right then. I got it. JK dodged the raindrops.
16:02
Did you suc- And brought us delicious beer. Did you successfully dodge? Yep. We both have successfully dodged rain today. It tinkled a little bit r- a- as, about two blocks from house.
16:12
Oddly enough, the driver got wet today. Oh? You had your golf clubs out? You were walking to your car and got wet? I, it was pouring. Oh, yeah, they, that faucet went on.
16:23
And then I was just moseying down the street and saw, coming out of the s- That's awesome... out of the sewer grate right down a block from here, shooting about four feet in the air, was water.
16:35
[laughs] I've got video I can show JK after 'cause I don't think he saw it yet. I'm sure my basement's wet right now. I was wondering about that. We're pretty good. I don't, we've never really had a problem at my house.
16:45
I have a minor leak. Ignorance is bliss. I have a minor leak. Ignorance is bliss at times. I have a minor leak. Yeah, I don't even go in the basement, just wait. Pretty much, yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:50
Just, yeah, you don't wanna have to put the waders on to go to the basement. Yeah, 'cause what are you gonna do? [laughs] Mm. Mm-hmm. Mm, freak out? Mm.
16:55
So did you pick this up at the, at the local, uh- Atto, to go get, get Blatto. Yes. Oh, you went to Atto's. Atto's. Bell's Hazy Hearted IPA. Bell's makes good beers. They do, and I don't think I've had this Hazy Hearted.
17:08
I- It's delicious. I've had it on tap once. Ooh. And it's- On tap? Yeah, it's pretty tasty. Ooh. Do you remember where? It's smooth-ish. [sighs] It's very smooth. I wanna say- It's not super bitter...
17:17
I wanna say The Nomad. Interesting. 'Cause I think they had on a, a, like- Which is-... rotational- W- w- which is now sold, right? Yeah. More or less, I guess. Wait, what? Yeah. Yeah.
17:27
Well, he's still gonna, Mike's still gonna be there, but he sold his pri- Did he sell it years ago? It's not his primary- He sold the property years ago. Oh, now he's selling the biz.
17:35
The biz, and he's still gonna be a managing partner, but still one of the best bars in Milwaukee if you wanna come up here and- It's a great bar... check that out. Great bloody Mary, good staff, friendly people,
17:46
great people-watching, just to hang out. The judgment corner. Yes. No matter, no matter what will occur in life. Which is a good six to seven month a year corner. Oh, yeah. Exactly.
17:56
And it is, it, the funny part is if you go out there and you, you'll just notice that these people are total tourists, even if they're residents. They're, you know, "Oh, I've never been here," blah, blah, blah, blah.
18:07
But they'll get on that corner And sit. And get, and get judgy And if you're, if you're just nearby, then you'll overhear 'em and they'll just be, "What the hell are that guy, people-" Yep... "making or doing?
18:16
What is this all about?" It just, it makes it- And it's like, yeah... it makes you do it. You, you can't- There's something in the spirit. It's amazing. Awesome. You can't stop.
18:22
[laughs] There's just so much fodder on that corner too, though- True... that you- You have the best, one of the best vantage points... can't re- can't really help it...
18:28
it was just, it was like 125 years ago, but I remember going there and there was a dude who had managed to pull a clawfoot tub over and was sitting in it outside in the middle of the winter as an art exhibit. Hmm.
18:43
So it was like live performance art? Yeah, and there was, it was filled with water, and he had some sort of something figured out to have the water flowing. Like, he plugged some pump into the water. It was just like,
18:54
"The hell's going on here?" Oh, there was actually water in it? Oh, yeah. He was, and he was hanging out in it, and it was snowing. Mm-hmm. And the water was definitely not warm. I'm like, "Dude, what are you doing?"
19:05
[laughs] He's like, "My senior art project." I'm like- Fair enough... "Carry on." Right on. [laughs] Carry on. Like, good work. Hope you're okay. There's a, uh, story on bikepacking.com.
19:16
Have I mentioned before how I like bikepacking.com? You have. I probably have. And it, you should like that. They have a thing where you join and you get their fancy good-smelling magazine amongst other things.
19:26
You can get entered in a contest several times a year, kinda like a supporter of the site thing. Sorta like we support- The, the contest, you're never gonna win, that one.
19:33
They've got some nice pedals this time around, too. And you're not gonna win 'em. Sorta like you support, you know, WMSC except that you get all sorts of cool shit 'cause we live locally.
19:43
[laughs] Pint glass this year is so good-looking I saw that. I might have to be one of my, uh, pledge, uh- Mine-... things for sure... that is it for me I don't know how that's gonna work out.
19:50
I did my- 'Cause I didn't, I... Okay, I'm s- I need six of 'em, though, so All right. I'm already a sustaining member, and I haven't re-upped it because it comes out cleverly to $66.60
20:03
every year 'cause at $5.55- But you did donate on my I do a one-timer on each one. Me too. And, you know. Actually, this year I'm doing a three-timer. I did, uh, yeah, I'm on my third time. Yes, I'm on my third time.
20:17
I did Zero Hour, um, Shape of, Shape of Rock and... Tony. Tony Berger. Tony. Well, yeah. Well, like- Billy's. Billy's Show... Billy Show. Billy Show. Yeah, that was- That was Tony...
20:31
was that, uh, Fat Tire Tony or Fat, Fat Bike Mike? Fat Bike Tony. Fat Bike Tony. No. No, no. I'd, I knew it was just Michael. And then they, they called up Michael, but they knew who you were. Sid knew who you were.
20:40
Yeah. All right. Well, she gave, yeah. You gotta love being- Well, yeah, she- I'm sorry, but... she gave, uh, like, uh, her or, uh, George [clears throat] Louvis. I'll use last names. Okay.
20:52
[laughs] Speaking of beer from Water Street Brewery. Yep. Um, they won their team ticket or whatever, and then walked by and I'm just like, "Hey, how you doing?" They're like, "Oh, do you need tickets?" "Yep." Boom.
21:04
So I got their three tickets, so one of her tickets allowed me to enter in. So that was part of my little tappy tappy comments- Awesome... that, that humans tend to read verbatim.
21:19
Now, that was, I l- That's why you, you gotta proofread your own shit when you, [laughs] you're tap- tapping and donating online Well, I, I did a call-in. Uh.
21:26
And I got the oldest lady, and she couldn't figure out anything. That's why I do it online. [laughs] And she didn't call me Guitar Smasher. She called me something. I'd be like, "Let's just get through with this."
21:35
Guitar Ravager. But yeah. [laughs] But then she, it was funny because Billy made comment and, made comment that it was the first, first Sid made comment that it was the Shiver West '24. Mm-hmm.
21:48
And then Billy's like, "It's the first Shiver West '24." I'm like, "Well, technically not." I heard some of that too, and I was like, "Uh, that's okay." Right.
21:55
Remember where we started with this, with the bikepacking thing? Yes. All right, just- Oh, yeah. Let's get back to that... so some people like to carry their cameras on their bikes. You. I'm working on that.
22:05
There's so many different ways to do it. You can just throw it in a backpack. You can throw it on your chest strap. Oh, I thought you were talking about mounting it.
22:10
Speaking of which- Well, there's ways to do that too... we have Zach on the show 'cause he's a serious... You met Zach- Oh, yeah... when he's got... He, he should be on the show. His camera's too heavy.
22:16
It probably weighs more than my bike. Likely. It's a big camera. Yeah. Uh, so how do you carry your camera on your bike? I don't know. It's something to check out if you like- Strapped...
22:25
actually carry it on your bike- I'm messaging you right now... versus carrying it in a backpack or strapped.
22:30
'Cause it's really hard to wear a strap, but I did see a video on YouTube recently where it's a nice sling arrangement where it rides in the middle of your back, and then somehow you shwing. Wow, I need this.
22:40
Yeah, kapow, kapow. Get this, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get, get over here. And then you can, then you can slap it back. Look at, look at that.
22:44
There's all sorts of ways to do this stuff, but, uh- I've got all of the information. I've got all the informa- Oh. [laughs] Yeah.
22:48
You need all the, all the content creation you can imagine happens when you're riding your bike. I'm just saying. I put my, uh, I put my pre-order in for my Omnium Mini Max- Mini... electric version. Oh, don't tempt me.
23:06
It's, it's got the sh- it's got a nice Shimano, uh, mid-drive with a five-speed hub of some type, which I can't recall right now, but it's an internally geared five-speed, so it's a belt drive. Wow. Right? Oh, I'm...
23:22
Is that the SA belt drive with the electric and the, the five-speed internal built in? It, it might, it's, it's made for electric bikes, so it may be the Sturmey Archer five-speed. With...
23:31
Oh, 'cause you're going mid-drive. Mid-drive with belt drive. Yep. Action. Well, the wait is on. I should have it hopefully by next show maybe. I might have to go down to Chicago to pick it up, but- It's a tie...
23:43
I will be sh- throwing the shekels down on Friday most likely. Oh, nice. But it, and it's, you know what color it is? Blurple. Blue purple? Blueberry blurple. I love it. I love it.
23:56
Well, it's kinda like, it's kinda like one of those things where you look at it from one angle, it's blue. You look at it another way, it's kinda, it changes. It's- All right.
24:03
Um, all you podcast listeners, I'm gonna beat Greg to death if he doesn't tell me as soon as he gets this- Blurple... 'cause that sounds gorgeous. I like saying the word blurple. Blurple.
24:14
Uh, they also have it in, uh, black and, uh, also a copperhead, which I almost-- It's really cool too 'cause it's metallic. Yeah.
24:21
But I think, I don't know, I get my numbers mixed up, but they really don't have that many, and it's unlikely they're gonna get a bunch more this year.
24:29
So I think they have, like, 40 of the E in between the cargo and the MiniMax. I don't know what the ratio of one to the other is.
24:37
But if you were thinking of an Omnium with the motor, you might wanna get in on that sooner than later for this year. And say hey to Brandon. Say Greg. Say Greg. Say Sven. Say Sven. Say Sven. Either one of these things.
24:51
I- That's two different guys you could say sent you. Yeah. Four letters each. How, how can I put a 74-pound four-year-old in the front of that?
24:59
They have a really cool thing with a backrest and everything that is like- Stylin' and profilin', I see it... it's like the Camera. Yeah. You just strap it in. Yeah, you just wrap it with duct tape. Just, yeah, yeah.
25:09
And, uh, uh, Surly, uh, Super- I am-... Concord things. I cannot hear you with that duct tape over your mouth.
25:14
[laughs] I, I am, for the record, I am creating a monster on a cargo bike because Daniel is now, every morning, are we riding to school, he sings all the way to school. You need to get your fucking toddlers on a bike.
25:28
You should get a camera. I should. Mount it backwards and record his ass singing- Oh, it's so funny... on the way to school. It's so funny. Content. It was Puff the Magic Dragon.
25:37
It was just like, he just randomly starts belting- How does he know Puff the Magic Dragon?... School. Oh, nice. Ah, they're good people. Was that- Jackie Paper? Wait a minute.
25:46
What was, who was Freddy with the flute, the magic flute? Ah, it's not Sigmund and the Snow- Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. Oh, shit. Right?
25:54
Speaking of that, he, uh, they did a screening of the documentary about Sigmund Snopek, local musician. Yeah. Sort of doubling back. Yeah. On that. First man to land on the moon. Apparently [laughs]
26:06
the documentary is, like- First man [laughs]... eight and a half hours or something. What? From what I heard. It was at Linneman's. Like, the first cut is, like, eight, eight-plus hours or some shit like that.
26:15
You know, uh, you know our, our friend Marcus, friend of the show, fat bike rider, his dad was Sigmund's guy at UWM- Oh, yeah... that was, he was a- Yeah, yeah... an orchestra. Really?
26:25
He was a composer and, uh, uh, s- that's where Sig got his chops, I guess. I mean- Oh, and I saw a Voot. There was a Voot sighting this weekend too as well. Many are the Voots that Voot around the Riverwest neighborhood.
26:37
Voot warnings. Yeah. Dance motherfucker, dance. Now we hit the E. Uh, he's, he's- [laughs] Explicit content... he's back to being somewhat healthy again, I believe. Yeah. Well, mentally, uh, definitely. Yeah, mentally.
26:54
Yeah. He's still got his kinks and- Yep... whatever. I mean, he replaced part, you know, like- Getting old sucks... well, and becoming robotic. Yeah. Yeah.
27:03
[laughs] I think, I think it may be too late to, um, jump in on the super early Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee, buy a ticket at the cheapest possible price, but it's really close. Medium price now, right, isn't it?
27:16
It's, it's not- Medium price... it's not overpriced yet. Yeah, it's in the 35-ish land, I wanna say. [laughs] Skate park. So this year is, uh, Pee-Wee's- 30th... thing. Dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun.
27:31
Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. It's a Pee-Wee theme. Uh, it's definitely something if you even live within 24 hours- Yeah... of Milwaukee, you should probably come and do it. Yeah, it's a fun, fun, fun, fun time.
27:41
It's definitely worth seeing. Worth seeing. Being a spectator is almost better than being a participant. Oh, that's what- I just gotta get to the skate park. Yeah, that's exactly. Spectator on a bike. What skate park?
27:49
The one on the south side? Yeah, the Conkle. Benefit for the skate park. Conkle Park. Oh, that skate park. Same day. It's the same day. There's another skate park over there. This one's over there.
27:57
Four seasons I'm thinking. Right. Is that the same day? Mm-hmm. Dagnabbit. Yeah. Turf. Hey, guess what I'm gonna have to ride out there. I know. An Omnium. Omnium. Ha ha.
28:06
[laughs] Yeah, no, I'm, I'm, as much as I love the Fat Tire Tour, that- I'll start, I'll do the launch. Yeah. It's 10:00 AM. Yeah, I'll do the launch and then we'll head over. You, you don't have to do that whole thing.
28:18
Because those shows are gonna be- Yeah... freaking great. I agree 100%. Whose phone's making noise? Mine. Sorry. What's it saying? What's it doing? What's it smelling? And what's it, why is it making racket?
28:29
Mm, I don't know. Local Live right now with Jinxy. Yes. That's the problem- Oh, yeah, what is that?... with having our shows on Tuesdays. Anodyne- Uh, Anodyne and Bruce. It's on YouTube.
28:38
Yeah, for only an hour or something. Yep. It, yeah, but that is Jinxy's show. I can, I- I'm gonna definitely be watching that on YouTube. I don't, we can go back to Wednesday. I don't care.
28:46
We should kick it around because- We, you know what? You-... we do miss on a couple of great shows You do know why we do it on Tuesday.
28:53
'Cause- Because JK had off on Wednesday afternoons, and it was very hard to come in here- [laughs]... without being three sheets to whatever wind was blowing. He was four sheets to the wind. Seven.
29:02
Sometimes seven sheets. [laughs] Yeah, you were pretty wrecked. Indeed, I guess. And it's also summertime, so you know, going to Swing Indor and having a few beers and doing a show, ah, it's a lot of work all in one day.
29:15
I'm telling you, those hot dogs do you. Uh-huh. [laughs] Damn Weenie Wednesdays. [laughs] Oh, they're so good. [laughs] They're so good. All right, everybody, we have done did it again.
29:27
We wasted a half an hour of your good people's time, and by cracky- Look at that. Omnium done... we'll do it again next week. It's education and entertainment.
29:34
Yeah, there was, we even talked about the his- Wisconsin Hysterical stuff. We covered all the bases, man. We got it going. We got hysteria. Meow. I, I've been thinking we should just go take this show over to
29:44
Riverwest Radio and just do it over there 'cause it's, you know, a lot of Milwaukee stuff. We could, people would suffer through the bike stuff just to listen to Milwaukee shit. I think so. All right.
29:53
Next- Instead of the other way around... next week for now. Bye. Bye.
29:57
[upbeat music]
