- 5:07Speaker 1: Okay, so today we're talking about, like I said, matters of the heart and we're gonna go straight into the ward.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna be presenting for those of you are who again are gonna be listening to this portion here, I'm gonna present my screen and we're gonna be studying Matthew 18.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Matthew 18, verses 21 through 35 the power parable of the unforgiving servant.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So, lord, I know I'm gonna step on some toes this morning, but this door don't get mad at me.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Okay, so let's read it through.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So we're in verse 21.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Peter came up to.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Peter came up and said to him, talking to Jesus Lord, how often will my brother sin against me?
- 5:48Speaker 1: And I forgive him as many as seven times.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Jesus said to him I do not say to you seven times, but seventy seven times.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The truth is, we all know that we're gonna be sinning against each other a lot of times.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Right that that happens as a part of the flesh.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And the word says therefore, the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Now, this is Jesus to his perspective, and we're gonna read this parable.
- 6:17Speaker 1: He's instructing through his parable in the way that heaven sees us, the way we operate, right?
- 6:22Speaker 1: So when he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him 10,000 talents and since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had and payment to be made.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So the servant fell on his knees and plowing him have patience with me and I will pay you everything.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Right, it does not happen to y'all.
- 6:44Speaker 1: We make the, we make crazy decisions, we make the wrong decision and we start begging Lord, god, have mercy.
- 6:50Speaker 1: We, you know, we throw everything.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Lord, forgive me, have patience with me.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Right, and out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But when the same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii and, seizing him, he began to choke him, saying pay what you owe.
- 7:11Speaker 1: So look how quickly he forgot what mercy looked like.
- 7:15Speaker 1: So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him have patience with me and I will pay you.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Verse 30 says he refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay that debt.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So now look at the mercy that again, the mercy that that first servant got from his master, the mercy that we get from God.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Are we giving that same mercy to the people who are, who are coming to ask, asking us for forgiveness?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Right, those, we, those who have sinned against us?
- 7:41Speaker 1: Right Verse 31,.
- 7:43Speaker 1: When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Then his master summoned him and said to him you, wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me, and should not you have that?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And in anger, his master delivered him to the jailers.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He, he gave him over until he should pay all his debt.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Verse 35 says so also my heavenly father will do to every one of you if you do not forgive your brother.
- 8:17Speaker 1: From your heart, from your heart, lord, we ask that you open up this message for God, so we all understand the mystery of your words, and so we can.
- 8:25Speaker 1: We can be inspired and encouraged to make a change in when it comes to forgiveness and unforgiveness.
- 8:31Speaker 1: What I love so much about this story is that, as you're, as you're looking, you can look at this from a couple of different perspectives.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Obviously, from a heavenly perspective, where it talks about our heavenly father.
- 8:42Speaker 1: What will he will do to us if, if we don't forgive our brother?
- 8:46Speaker 1: But I want to make sure that you see this, the last three words in this thank you Lord, where it says if you do not forgive your brother from your heart, a lot of y'all are saying I forget, but I don't forget.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Then you really didn't forget from from your heart, right?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Paying attention to how our heart posture when it comes to how we are responding to, you know, when we're being accused of something.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So there's three things I want to share that the Lord was showing me when it comes to forgiveness, forgiveness and first of all, the first one is that being accused and I'm just looking sideways to my notes being accused by others, being accused by others, can cause unforgiveness.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Being accused by others can cause, cause unforgiveness.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Stop sharing so I can just talk to y'all real quick.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Being accused by others can cause unforgiveness, so we want to talk about us sinning against each other.
- 9:40Speaker 1: One of those is accusations.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Right?
- 9:43Speaker 1: You feel like you know I was wronged.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I was wrong.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So therefore, I was wronged by my teacher in kindergarten, so I can never let that go.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Because she said this about me, she said I'll never make it.
- 9:55Speaker 1: So I can never forgive her for what she said.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I can never forgive my father because he didn't show up as a dad in the way that she, you know he accused me of not, you know, not making, not being like my sibling.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I can never forgive my boss because she accused me of not being a hard worker.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I can, we can come up with all of these reasons, right, as a response to being accused.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Or maybe maybe you've been misunderstood, and so now you're, you know, you're, I, I refuse to forgive so and so because they didn't get me, you don't understand me, you don't, you know, you don't know my life, right, we literally come up with reasons about you know how we go into unforgiveness.
- 10:35Speaker 1: We create these reasons, right, and it's all from sin, right.
- 10:39Speaker 1: So the other one, the other one I wanted to share with y'all really quickly when it comes to unforgiveness and we're going to, I see it, lord is the fact that unforgiveness leads to bitterness.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Unforgiveness leads to bitterness.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't care how you, I don't care how you do it when you say you know, again, I forgive, but I don't forget.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Now, if you just look at the parable of this story, okay, it's not that, it's not that the master didn't want to, didn't want to have mercy, which is what happened here.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Right, the word says out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Number one, which means he released him from the, from the, the oversight, right.
- 11:22Speaker 1: He released him and then he forgave him the debt.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So not only did he release him, release him through mercy, but he forgave him from the debt.
- 11:32Speaker 1: There was money involved.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So it wasn't just releasing him from the heart through mercy, but he also.
- 11:38Speaker 1: There was also money attached.
- 11:39Speaker 1: There was something tangible, there was something of value attached to it.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So, for those of us who have been wronged, you know that person who wronged me because you feel like they stole, they took something from you tangibly.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Right, if they again that when it says when a big, when the word says when he began to settle, the one who was brought to him, who owed him money, owed him 10,000 pounds, a lot of money back then right.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So imagine you're in this position where now you've got someone who who has taken from you tangibly something of value, something you perceive as value, and the word is saying that even in that situation, you need to forgive that person, and that's a hard pill to swallow.
- 12:18Speaker 1: That's a hard pill to swallow.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Thank you, tracy.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It's truly not worth the damage that holding on to unforgiveness done to your, to your heart and life.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And Tanya is saying forgiveness of the heart improved your heart posture.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I can't go to the Lord and accuse others.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Listen, I can't show up in a prayer and start accusing others, right, because he's going to show me my own heart.
- 12:48Speaker 1: But unforgiveness leads to bitterness and people carry that bitterness here, here, here, what I'm about to say, because it's going to make some of y'all real mad, because this is a season right now, and especially because, again, I'm on the LinkedIn streets, we can see all the announcements and there are people who are being impacted and they're losing their income, they're losing their jobs.
- 13:08Speaker 1: There are some people who are not doing well in business, right, things are not panning out the way that we planned, right?
- 13:16Speaker 1: And even in this season, even in this season, can I encourage you not to hold on to bitterness from the loss that you have right now, because this is something of value, tangible value, right, our jobs, our career, our paychecks.
- 13:33Speaker 1: That's a tangible.
- 13:34Speaker 1: That's a value.
- 13:35Speaker 1: There's money attached to that.
- 13:37Speaker 1: But can I just inspire you not to have bitterness in your heart about the season you're in and just to know, just to believe again that all things are working together for your good, even when it doesn't feel like it tangibly.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But don't have a heart that's heavy and bitter about what's happening to you right now, because your blessing's on the way.
- 13:59Speaker 1: There's goodness at the end of this right.
- 14:04Speaker 1: There's goodness at the end of this, even when it don't make sense.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I'm telling you as a, as a for real witness things don't make sense, things that are happening around me, and I'm like Lord, I've got to trust you and I've got, I've got to believe you.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 14:19Speaker 1: You cannot rely on men to deliver what you need.
- 14:23Speaker 1: You gotta rely on God to do that for you.
- 14:25Speaker 1: He uses men and women.
- 14:27Speaker 1: He uses people.
- 14:29Speaker 1: People are blessing.
- 14:30Speaker 1: If you want your blessing, it comes through a person.
- 14:33Speaker 1: If you want your breakthrough, it comes through a person.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But if you have an unforgiving and bitter heart, you're not going to see that person, that blessing, that breakthrough, when it shows up, because your heart is going to be so wrapped up in what happened to you before, you're going to miss your blessing and you're going to miss your breakthrough.
- 14:50Speaker 1: You're going to curse that blessing, you're going to curse that breakthrough because you have an unforgiving heart.
- 14:55Speaker 1: That's what it means in real life term.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Right, that's what it means in real life term.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Amen Tracy's saying we're not perfect human beings.
- 15:08Speaker 1: We are messed up.
- 15:08Speaker 1: We've all done wrong, we've all heard her people and we do have to let go of the hurt and pray to get delivered.
- 15:14Speaker 1: That is bondage.
- 15:15Speaker 1: That is something that if you hold on to that, that, that that creates again.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It makes you sick.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And you know, can I just say if you're someone who wrongs someone, then it's up to you to go fix it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It's up to you, it's up to you to belly up to the bar, as I used to say.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Back to the bar, go to the person and say I'm sorry for what I did.
- 15:36Speaker 1: You know what.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I misunderstood you and I'm sorry about that, and then back off.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You don't need it, you don't need a monologue.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Just go and apologize If you're the person, because you've got to release this thing, you've got to forgive other people.
- 15:48Speaker 1: We are asking God to forgive us Right.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And why is?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Why is it so important again?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Because we don't want to block the blessings that he has for us.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Some of the attacks, you know, people talk again.
- 16:00Speaker 1: We talk a lot about spiritual attacks, but some of the attacks you're facing comes from your own unforgiveness, your own disobedience.
- 16:08Speaker 1: You planted the seed of unforgiveness and now it's.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It's.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It's showing up as fruit in your children.
- 16:15Speaker 1: But it was your own unforgiveness, your own bitterness, your own words.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It was you doing that Right.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Some of these things are we're doing this Right.
- 16:24Speaker 1: So how do you respond?
- 16:25Speaker 1: They respond as the first server.
- 16:27Speaker 1: When you go to God and say, father, forgive me, father, forgive me for my sins, you know we can't pay this price.
- 16:33Speaker 1: We thank you.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That the Lord Jesus is pretty, pretty, pretty the price.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Amen, right, right.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Is that how you're doing?
- 16:39Speaker 1: And then, when you do that, when he, when he's already said, oh, you are forgiven, daughter, you are forgiven, son, you are forgiven and you have the spirit of forgiveness, then do you go back to the person who wronged you and then you forgive them or do you curse them?
- 16:53Speaker 1: What is your response?
- 16:56Speaker 1: What is your response?
- 16:58Speaker 1: If you want him to forgive you, you got to forgive other person.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Listen, and I'm telling you, I've been wronged, I've been accused, I've been, I've been all of those things, but I also have hurt people.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I used to have a real sharp tongue and I still have a real sharp response most of times.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I've got you know, I've got you know my, my sister, my sister in Christ, mckisha, and you know she calls me such a thing, she calls me a name I won't say here, but I'm very well known for you know, I have a carry on a spiritual sword and I'll just cut people like I don't want to be bothered with the Craziness, I don't want to be bothered with anything right.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I don't like drama, I don't like Negativity, I don't want, I don't want people around me for just takers.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I don't want any of that.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I don't want any of that in my, my personal life.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I don't want any of that within our prayer ministry.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I don't want any of that in business.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I don't want to be surrounded with any of that right.
- 17:55Speaker 1: But I myself have had to learn how to forgive other people and sometimes it's it's me checking myself.
- 18:01Speaker 1: The Holy Spirit will check me real quick.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Listen, if you want to go to this level, then you're gonna have to forgive, you're gonna have to let that thing go.
- 18:08Speaker 1: When unforgiveness is like an ugly carcass that you bring year over year and then the more, the more you carry that weight of Bitterness and unforgiveness, the heavier it becomes, the more negative you become.
- 18:21Speaker 1: You know, now you can't think straight now.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You, you know, now your mind, mind isn't right.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Now you're facing, you know, all these attacks, but these are seeds that you planted through through unforgiveness.
- 18:33Speaker 1: So you need this.
- 18:34Speaker 1: You need to be able to forgive your spouse right.
- 18:37Speaker 1: It's the small things, it's the things that we call the small thing.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He didn't make the bed right.
- 18:41Speaker 1: He didn't.
- 18:42Speaker 1: He burned the food.
- 18:43Speaker 1: He didn't do my daughter's here the way I do it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Okay, you're gonna need to.
- 18:47Speaker 1: You're gonna need to ask for forgiveness Because you're you're literally cursing that blessing that he got God put in your life.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Right, how dare you go before his throne and ask him for forgiveness?
- 18:57Speaker 1: He forgives you when you turn and you curse your, you curse your spouse, you curse your children, you curse your managers.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Right In this season you need to be for, you need to forgive other people more than they ask, listen, more than they even ask.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Y'all you're not doing this so that you look good on the social media streets.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Don't put up a post about how you've overcome.
- 19:19Speaker 1: You know, you're, you're, you're, you're you.
- 19:22Speaker 1: There's a breakthrough now because you forgive so and so.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Don't do that, don't do that.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Forgive, and, as word says, the last three words of the Alvaredus again, this is Matthew 1835.
- 19:36Speaker 1: So also my Heavenly Father will do to every one of you if you do not forgive your brother when?
- 19:43Speaker 1: From your heart.
- 19:45Speaker 1: It's not saying you forgive, it's also from your heart.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It's your heart, right, because our heart drives everything.
- 19:51Speaker 1: If we have forgiveness in our heart, it comes out through our mouth, it echoes in what we speak, it shows up in how we react, it shows up on the job, it shows up at the supermarket when somebody jumps in from the line of you, you don't.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You don't pop off.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Amen, do you have a forgiving spirit?
- 20:08Speaker 1: So, father, we thank you that you've released this word this morning for all of us.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Lord, god, we receive that spirit of forgiveness today, lord, we ask that you forgive us.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Forgive us for wrong, for how we wrong each other, forgive us for popping up, forgive us for being bitter, forgive us for judging, for accusing Father God, forgive us for not being the better models for our children, for not being better models as our leaders, and how to forgive.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Forgive us for falling into gossip.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Forgive us, lord, god, for doubting your word.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Forgive us, lord, god, for not spending time in your word.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Forgive us for falling out of our relationship with you.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Lord, we just seek your face and we ask for your help.
- 20:49Speaker 1: We thank you, lord, that you have already blessed us and as you have blessed us, lord, god, I pray that you will use every single one under the sound of my voice to be the blessing and the breakthrough.
- 21:00Speaker 1: In your name, we pray amen, y'all.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We are the blessing, we are the breakthrough.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That's my new name.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Okay, right, but you can't be that blessing and the breakthrough for your family if your heart is an aposho where you don't forgive.
- 21:17Speaker 1: You got to forgive.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Amen, oh, my gosh, I pray this.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Bless you, lord.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Thank you so much for everybody who is watching.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Yes, karen, karen is saying, yes, our heart speaks and yes, and the word I am the blessing.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Listen again.
- 21:32Speaker 1: We're asking, you know, for you in general, I don't have generational curses.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I have generational blessings because I am the blessing, I am the breakthrough.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Right, amen.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Thank you, lord, for using me to be the blessing and the breakthrough for somebody today on this here.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Call, whether you're watching live or the replay.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Lord, I thank you that you position me to be the blessing and the breakthrough for somebody on my job.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Thank you for positioning me to be the blessing and the breakthrough in my household.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Now, those are the that's.
- 22:01Speaker 1: That's the posture that we're moving in.
- 22:03Speaker 1: You want to soar in 2024.
- 22:06Speaker 1: You got to change your posture and understand the role you play.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Amen, I thank you that I'm the blessing and the breakthrough through all the organizations that I mentor and coach.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I thank you.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I'm the blessing and the breakthrough in my neighborhood.
- 22:19Speaker 1: That's the position.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Stop talking about the attacks.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Focus on who you are.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You're the blessing and the breakthrough and letting use you so that you can do that.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But you got to start with forgiveness.
- 22:29Speaker 1: That's why the word, that's why the word for the rest of this month matters of the heart.
