- 0:00Speaker 1: This is South Carolina's morning news on one O three
- 0:03Speaker 1: point five FM and five sixty AM WVOC Columbia and
- 0:09Speaker 1: ninety four to three WSC Charleston.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Now, Kelly Nash.
- 0:14Speaker 3: So much to get to this morning. We just heard
- 0:17Speaker 3: about the lawsuit being brought by Danny Ford or.
- 0:20Speaker 4: We've been.
- 0:22Speaker 5: You know.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Let me just start right here.
- 0:24Speaker 3: This is yesterday at the South Carolina State House and
- 0:29Speaker 3: the former Republican sister senator lately in the news as
- 0:34Speaker 3: one of the best friends of Darlene Graham. Katrina Sheely,
- 0:38Speaker 3: our dem candidate for governor of South Carolina, got Jamaine just.
- 0:47Speaker 4: So there you have it.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Katrina Sheely, I guess has completely gone over to the
- 0:51Speaker 3: other side and.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Couldn't were this hour.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Yes, that's what she said our hour Democrat candidate for
- 0:57Speaker 3: governor Jermaine Johnson. She was there to introduced Jermaine Johnson
- 1:01Speaker 3: and his new running mate.
- 1:04Speaker 4: And the running mate, by the way, is who is
- 1:06Speaker 4: this guy again?
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm trying to He's never one office, although he did
- 1:10Speaker 3: try to win once. His name, his last name is
- 1:13Speaker 3: like Scardon.
- 1:14Speaker 6: More of a behind the scenes guy on the Democrat side.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, he works at a nonprofit and nothing to minimize nonprofits.
- 1:23Speaker 3: But you know the fact that Johnson says he'll put
- 1:26Speaker 3: him in charge of helping businesses here in South Carolina. Again,
- 1:32Speaker 3: the non profit and businesses usually are two different things.
- 1:37Speaker 3: But I don't think this is a very serious candidacy
- 1:39Speaker 3: at all. Jermaine Johnson and some guy we've never heard of,
- 1:44Speaker 3: and their big selling point to this South Carolina voter
- 1:49Speaker 3: is that we are millennials.
- 1:53Speaker 4: That's it.
- 1:54Speaker 3: We're young, and so you should elect us because we're
- 1:58Speaker 3: young and we have no experience anything that would be
- 2:01Speaker 3: of importance as the governor or lieutenant governor. But we're
- 2:04Speaker 3: gonna take the guy who's never been in business and
- 2:06Speaker 3: make him the head of all the businesses for South Carolina.
- 2:08Speaker 4: That ought to help. I mean, at least right now,
- 2:10Speaker 4: you've got.
- 2:10Speaker 3: A lieutenant governor who has taken a business and turned
- 2:13Speaker 3: it into a multimillion dollar achievement. This guy, his I
- 2:17Speaker 3: guess his big claim is his wife is on the
- 2:20Speaker 3: like Charleston County Council or something city council. I'm sorry,
- 2:24Speaker 3: Charleston City council. Leslie is on the Charleston City Council.
- 2:27Speaker 3: So I don't think this is a very serious candidate.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But to the bigger point, is Katrina Sheeley friend of
- 2:38Speaker 3: miss Graham nardone?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Is she right now trying to sync that candidacy.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Yeah, that's That's Probably the biggest news that came out
- 2:47Speaker 6: of that big announcement yesterday is the fact that, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 6: probably Darline Graham's thinking, all right, Katrina, let's hold it
- 2:53Speaker 6: down a little bit. I've got to I've got a
- 2:55Speaker 6: Senate race to worry about, and here she is introducing
- 2:58Speaker 6: the Democrat candidate for governor.
- 3:01Speaker 4: It was jaw.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Dropping to me when I saw that video making its
- 3:05Speaker 3: way across social media late yesterday afternoon. I I don't
- 3:10Speaker 3: know what. Why would he want her? Why would she
- 3:14Speaker 3: want to be with him?
- 3:15Speaker 4: Why? I don't It's just really it boggles the mind.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Well, I understand why he would want her. I mean,
- 3:23Speaker 6: she broadens his base. She well, yeah, I would think so.
- 3:27Speaker 6: I mean, Katrina Sheely's well known, at least in the Midlands,
- 3:30Speaker 6: and if it gives him an inroad with some mainstream
- 3:34Speaker 6: Republicans who were unhappy with their ticket, more power to
- 3:37Speaker 6: I mean, that's that's all he has to work with
- 3:39Speaker 6: right now.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Okay, I'm it's hard to kind of navigate the Democrat
- 3:46Speaker 3: politics right now. But Carrie Seller's looked like a moron
- 3:50Speaker 3: last night on CNN. I wish I could get the
- 3:52Speaker 3: clip of that he was talking about he didn't know
- 3:54Speaker 3: what the word maoism meant.
- 3:56Speaker 4: But that's where we're at.
- 3:58Speaker 3: So if you are a Republican or ever have been
- 4:02Speaker 3: a Republican, you have been. It's almost like a wild animal.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Once you've been tainted by human hands, they don't want
- 4:09Speaker 3: you back, right, And so as somebody who's ever voted
- 4:12Speaker 3: for anything Republican, the Democrats, the hardcore ones will point
- 4:16Speaker 3: out that you're a Nazi. Even though you're a reformed Nazi,
- 4:20Speaker 3: you're still a Nazi. You voted for a tax cut
- 4:23Speaker 3: when you should have been voting for tax increases to
- 4:25Speaker 3: help more of the poor and disadvantage who your white
- 4:29Speaker 3: supremacy has put in this situation, that sort of mentality. So,
- 4:34Speaker 3: I mean, I guess she can try to you know,
- 4:36Speaker 3: here she is hugging and kissing him on stage or
- 4:38Speaker 3: what that's not stage, but you know what I'm talking
- 4:40Speaker 3: about on the steps of the state House, that they
- 4:43Speaker 3: can feel like they have a Kumbaya moment, but the
- 4:46Speaker 3: hardcore left, which is the energy in the Democrat Party,
- 4:50Speaker 3: will never ever accept Katrina Shilely.
- 4:52Speaker 6: Probably not. But as you've pointed out before, I mean
- 4:55Speaker 6: that the Republicans have a clear majority in this state,
- 4:58Speaker 6: and the only winning formula for Jermaine Johnson and his
- 5:02Speaker 6: ticket is to reach across the aisle and grab some
- 5:05Speaker 6: of the Republicans who may be disenfranchised or disenchanted with
- 5:09Speaker 6: their party.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Right now, well, if he was hoping this was going
- 5:12Speaker 3: to help the fundraise, I mean it's already rippling across
- 5:16Speaker 3: the country.
- 5:17Speaker 4: He's out, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:19Speaker 3: The Democrat people are like, we're not supporting this. This
- 5:22Speaker 3: is chaos in South Carolina. And you got a great candidate,
- 5:25Speaker 3: Alan Wilson. So it's not like they're running against some
- 5:27Speaker 3: sort of far right extremist, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's not like Alan Wilson is insane or something. It's
- 5:35Speaker 3: not like we got Nancy Mace up here.
- 5:36Speaker 6: I still think the bigger impact is what, how are
- 5:40Speaker 6: people who are thinking about voting for Darlene Graham going
- 5:43Speaker 6: to perceive this, because again, we know so little about her.
- 5:47Speaker 6: She did release an ad yesterday, a video talking about
- 5:51Speaker 6: how what she wants, and it gave a few talking
- 5:55Speaker 6: points that added to her campaign. But other than that,
- 5:58Speaker 6: we know nothing about her. Other than the fact that
- 6:00Speaker 6: she supported Katrina Sheely a few years ago.
- 6:03Speaker 3: We do know that, and we got the breaking news
- 6:06Speaker 3: yesterday that, speaking of Alan Wilson, he's hosting that event
- 6:09Speaker 3: tomorrow at River Bluff High School. They got all nine
- 6:14Speaker 3: of the people who are running for the Senate to
- 6:17Speaker 3: be there tomorrow at Riverbluff, including Darlene Graham. So true,
- 6:20Speaker 3: that will be I guess the first time we actually
- 6:22Speaker 3: get to hear her answer legitimate questions.
- 6:25Speaker 4: So that's going to be exciting.
- 6:27Speaker 3: At eleven thirty tomorrow morning, I plan on being there
- 6:29Speaker 3: river Bluff High School and waiting. I think tickets are free,
- 6:32Speaker 3: so just come on down if you want to see
- 6:34Speaker 3: how that whole thing plays out. So all right, we're off.
- 6:36Speaker 6: But that's a forum, that's not a debate, No.
- 6:39Speaker 3: It's exactly, but you're still going to have to answer
- 6:40Speaker 3: the questions. True, So be interesting to see what kind
- 6:44Speaker 3: of questions because I think Alan is going to write
- 6:46Speaker 3: some of them himself, but there's also going to be
- 6:48Speaker 3: some written from the students who were studying politics that
- 6:51Speaker 3: that they have a special I Guess class on politics,
- 6:55Speaker 3: and so some of those people will be writing them,
- 6:56Speaker 3: and they're going to be taking some questions from people
- 6:58Speaker 3: in the audience. I don't think you're allowed to write
- 7:00Speaker 3: questions that are just specifically for one candidate or another,
- 7:04Speaker 3: but like, well, will somebody ask the question what is
- 7:08Speaker 3: the definition of a rhino? And then we'll see how
- 7:10Speaker 3: that plays out. Well, it's gonna be a fun day,
- 7:13Speaker 3: I know that for sure. All Right, we're off and running.
- 7:15Speaker 3: It is now six' ten On South carolina's Morning news from.
- 7:19Speaker 2: The midlands to the Low.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Country this Is South Carolina's Morning news on ONE o
- 7:24Speaker 1: three point FIVE fm and five SIXTY AM wvoc and
- 7:29Speaker 1: ninety four to THREE.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Wsc now Here's Kelly.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Nash you, know one of the things that when people
- 7:36Speaker 3: say politics is slimy and they don't like, it they
- 7:41Speaker 3: feel like people are, Dealing they're dealing from the bottom
- 7:44Speaker 3: of the deck to. Themselves AND i can't think of
- 7:48Speaker 3: a better example than what happened yesterday In Richland. County
- 7:52Speaker 3: and you've got the vice chair of The Richland County,
- 7:55Speaker 3: council guy Named Derek, pugh and there. Was there's a
- 7:59Speaker 3: group Called Hameto State watch who recently started asking questions
- 8:05Speaker 3: About Scout, motors what's going on with The Richland County,
- 8:08Speaker 3: council all this sort of.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Stuff and, then as that line of questioning, begins.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yesterday Derek pugh posts on his social media page that
- 8:21Speaker 3: he has now accepted a job working At Scout. Motors
- 8:25Speaker 3: i'm thrilled to announce THAT i have joined the team
- 8:27Speaker 3: At Scout motors at The South Carolina Senior Community engagement.
- 8:32Speaker 4: SPECIALIST i don't know what that.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Pays apparently he's not leaving The Richland County, council and
- 8:39Speaker 3: according to The post And courier, quote it is not
- 8:42Speaker 3: yet clear What peugh's new position will entail or how
- 8:45Speaker 3: it will interact with his seat on The Richland County.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Council but he will not be required to abstain from
- 8:52Speaker 3: future votes that Involve Scout. Motors how is that not
- 8:56Speaker 3: a conflict of? Interest and with that we could just,
- 9:02Speaker 3: SAY i, mean this is the problem with. Politics this
- 9:06Speaker 3: is so. INSANE i, mean If I'm Scout, motors of
- 9:11Speaker 3: COURSE i want to hire people who work on The
- 9:13Speaker 3: Richling County council to come and work for. Me and
- 9:16Speaker 3: then go ahead and vote on whether or NOT i
- 9:18Speaker 3: get more tax. Breaks this is insanity what's happening. Here
- 9:23Speaker 3: AND i hope that the people Of Richland COUNTY i am,
- 9:27Speaker 3: one will rise up in.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Opposition obviously just.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Vocally i'm not talking about anything else other than just
- 9:35Speaker 3: being very vocal in your opposition to. This but this
- 9:38Speaker 3: is sheer insanity that the vice chair for The Richland
- 9:42Speaker 3: County council is now employed, by let's just be, honest
- 9:46Speaker 3: a very controversial company in the sense that how many
- 9:49Speaker 3: tax breaks did they? Get what's going how many more
- 9:52Speaker 3: dollars do taxpayers need to front to make sure that
- 9:55Speaker 3: this deal continues to?
- 9:56Speaker 4: Happen and now this guy gets a job There.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Richland county Or, yeah they just wound up paying what
- 10:03Speaker 6: a one million dollar fine for all the environmental mess
- 10:08Speaker 6: that was made when they were preparing or preparing The
- 10:10Speaker 6: Scout motors site for. Construction and THEN i think the
- 10:14Speaker 6: state wound up paying some of that fine For Richland.
- 10:17Speaker 4: County oh did? THEY i think?
- 10:19Speaker 6: SO i think part of that money that The State
- 10:22Speaker 6: house is still arguing about for, OVERRUNS i think part
- 10:25Speaker 6: of that, money or at least they reduced the fine
- 10:28Speaker 6: That Richland county was going to wind up Paying.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Scout Motor, now this is From Palmetto State watch last. Month,
- 10:38Speaker 3: No i'm sorry last earlier this. Week Scout motors may
- 10:41Speaker 3: be indirectly receiving more government benefits now from the federal.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Government The city Of columbia is seeking eleven point four
- 10:47Speaker 3: million from THE Us Economic Development administration for The Scout
- 10:51Speaker 3: Water Storage tank And transmission. Project Richland County council voted
- 10:57Speaker 3: ten oh On july fourteenth to send a letter of
- 10:59Speaker 3: support to The department Of Commerce Secretary, lutnick With vice
- 11:02Speaker 3: Chair derek pew abstaining on that vote because his quote
- 11:06Speaker 3: parent company may receive benefits from the support, Letter so
- 11:10Speaker 3: in that instance he did recuse. Himself at that, time
- 11:14Speaker 3: nobody knew what he was talking. About the parent. Company
- 11:17Speaker 3: what parent company are you, referencing? Sir now we know
- 11:21Speaker 3: as of yesterday that his new employer Is Scout. Motors
- 11:26Speaker 3: SO i guess even if he doesn't, vote it seems
- 11:29Speaker 3: as if he's probably got enough juice inside The County
- 11:32Speaker 3: council to, just you, know, hey, guys we got to
- 11:34Speaker 3: do the right thing by, me, Right i'm the vice chair,
- 11:37Speaker 3: Here come.
- 11:38Speaker 4: On do me.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Solid let's get let's help him out with some more tax.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Breaks this feels so, filthy. Disgusting it makes me want
- 11:46Speaker 3: to go take a. Shower what do you think about?
- 11:48Speaker 3: That or other? Stories we got plenty to get, to
- 11:50Speaker 3: including our interview With Russell. Frye we'll try to get
- 11:52Speaker 3: to that coming up in just a. Minute he was
- 11:54Speaker 3: with us. Yesterday it Is South Carolina's Morning, news.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Live from the State.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Capitol this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly nash
- 12:05Speaker 1: six twenty.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Five good.
- 12:06Speaker 3: MORNING i love. This ROBERT. F kennedy has his debut
- 12:11Speaker 3: television show. Out it's not actually on, television it's on.
- 12:14Speaker 3: YouTube i just put a link up for it if
- 12:16Speaker 3: you want to see. It it's Called The Real Food.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Show AND i guess what he's planning to do is
- 12:22Speaker 3: every week or, whatever he's going to have a chef
- 12:25Speaker 3: come on and they're going to show you how to
- 12:27Speaker 3: make real, food healthy meals in under twenty minutes that
- 12:33Speaker 3: cost about five dollars per. Meal this is people keep
- 12:38Speaker 3: overthinking how hard it is to eat healthy and So ROBERT.
- 12:42Speaker 4: F Kennedy junior is attacking this head.
- 12:45Speaker 3: On AND i mean the government has done so much
- 12:50Speaker 3: damage inside the diet industry and what we should actually
- 12:54Speaker 3: be putting in our. Bodies for, YEARS i was one
- 12:56Speaker 3: of those, victims by the. WAY i was one of
- 12:58Speaker 3: those people who fell for the you don't want to be,
- 13:01Speaker 3: fat don't eat. FAT i did that back in the
- 13:03Speaker 3: nineties and put on like one hundred. Pounds so that
- 13:07Speaker 3: whole pyramid scheme that they put out in the, seventies
- 13:10Speaker 3: that was like literally upside. Down So i'm loving this new,
- 13:14Speaker 3: show and LIKE i, Said i'm putting it out on
- 13:16Speaker 3: my social media pages if you want to see.
- 13:18Speaker 4: It we're going to try to get back on.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Track i'm a little bit behind, schedule but we're going
- 13:22Speaker 3: to get it back on. Track christopher at six twenty
- 13:24Speaker 3: six On South Carolina's Morning.
- 13:26Speaker 2: News this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Nash All, right good, morning six thirty. One trying to
- 13:33Speaker 3: keep the trains on. Time and yesterday had a nice
- 13:36Speaker 3: little chat With Russell frye who called into the. Show
- 13:40Speaker 3: appreciate that great to be.
- 13:41Speaker 5: Here thanks for having.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Me what is motivating you to do?
- 13:44Speaker 2: This What i've seen.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Now is AND i to think what people see is
- 13:47Speaker 5: A senate that is, dysfunctional A senate that is not,
- 13:51Speaker 5: working A senate that is not listening to the people
- 13:53Speaker 5: that it. Represents AND i want to be part of
- 13:55Speaker 5: a new generation of conservative. Leadership it goes to The.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Senate the single, mission get The senate to, work be
- 14:02Speaker 5: aligned With President, trump not just cast the right, votes
- 14:06Speaker 5: but really work to deliver generational change for The american.
- 14:11Speaker 5: People the people talk about the price of, gas they
- 14:14Speaker 5: talk about how much it costs to buy a.
- 14:17Speaker 2: House government is the.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Problem government is not the. Solution government is the. Problem
- 14:21Speaker 5: and we've had some good, success but a lot of
- 14:24Speaker 5: bills that we have worked on and passed have gone
- 14:26Speaker 5: to The senate to. Die, look The White house needs
- 14:29Speaker 5: allies in The. Senate they don't have. Enough Senator graham's unfortunate,
- 14:33Speaker 5: Passing trump lost a good ally in The. Senate and
- 14:36Speaker 5: it wasn't somebody who just voted the right. Way lindsay
- 14:39Speaker 5: was part of the ecosystem of really helping to drive
- 14:43Speaker 5: The trump. Agenda And so what frustrates me IN, dc
- 14:47Speaker 5: AND i think what frustrates people your, listeners is that
- 14:51Speaker 5: people go up TO dc and, yeah sure they might
- 14:52Speaker 5: vote the right, Way yeah sure they might complain ON,
- 14:55Speaker 5: tv but they're not actually doing anything other than. That
- 14:58Speaker 5: i'm not running for The senate seat to be part the.
- 15:00Speaker 5: FURNITURE i want to be part of the.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Solution talking With Russell, frye who is running For senate right,
- 15:06Speaker 3: now you Mentioned Senator, graham and currently if we were
- 15:09Speaker 3: to say the Name Senator, GRAHAM i guess we would
- 15:11Speaker 3: be referring To Darlene at this, POINT a lot of
- 15:14Speaker 3: people looked At Donald trump's a weekend tweet where he
- 15:18Speaker 3: was basically encouraging her to run as a preemptive tweet
- 15:22Speaker 3: to try to keep other people out of the. Race
- 15:25Speaker 3: you came back pretty strongly On. Monday did you look
- 15:28Speaker 3: at That trump tweet as a way of trying to
- 15:30Speaker 3: keep you and others?
- 15:31Speaker 5: Out i'm running for the people at the. State everyone
- 15:33Speaker 5: knows of everyone. Running we've stood with the. President we
- 15:37Speaker 5: endorsed the. President we were part of his original leadership
- 15:39Speaker 5: team when nobody else really in this field was with the.
- 15:42Speaker 5: President we. Were you, know he's very high on me.
- 15:45Speaker 5: TOO i MEAN i get certainly get shout out from him.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Regularly we might.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Be in a very unique position where in two races
- 15:52Speaker 3: in a, row if you're fortunate enough to get into
- 15:54Speaker 3: a runoff Against Darlene. Graham trump may be in the
- 15:58Speaker 3: double endorsement business again In South.
- 16:00Speaker 4: CAROLINA i always Loved. Russell these are my two. Favorites
- 16:04Speaker 4: i've always wanted him to.
- 16:05Speaker 5: WIN i don't know what the what The president will.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Do WHAT i do know that in his heart is
- 16:10Speaker 5: That i've got a great relationship with, him in a
- 16:12Speaker 5: friendship with, him and so Did Lindsay. Graham and regardless
- 16:17Speaker 5: of how this, unfolds we're going to be an ally
- 16:19Speaker 5: with The. President we've got this insane energy THAT i
- 16:22Speaker 5: think that The senate really. NEEDS i, mean you, KNOW
- 16:25Speaker 5: i look at The senate and go, gosh, Like i'm
- 16:27Speaker 5: already going to save the taxpayer's. Money because when you
- 16:30Speaker 5: get sworn into The, senate you get YOUR id card
- 16:32Speaker 5: to vote on The senate, floor you get a license
- 16:34Speaker 5: plate if you got a, car and The senate's so
- 16:37Speaker 5: old that they give you a government issued. Walker i'm
- 16:39Speaker 5: already saving the tax payers.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Money so forty, one which would make you significantly younger
- 16:44Speaker 3: THAN i think any other, candidate any significant and Most.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Senators quite, FRANKLY i Think i'd be like the third
- 16:51Speaker 5: or fourth Youngest, senator which is kind of wild to think.
- 16:54Speaker 5: About what drives me IS i think about every generation
- 16:57Speaker 5: has handed the country off better than they found. It
- 17:00Speaker 5: AND i think about my, son AND i think about
- 17:03Speaker 5: people's grandchildren and, go are we going to be the
- 17:06Speaker 5: first generation that, says, sorry, guys we. Tried america's best
- 17:10Speaker 5: days are behind. US i am not going to be
- 17:13Speaker 5: part of.
- 17:13Speaker 3: THAT i made a strong case for. Yourself if people
- 17:15Speaker 3: want to explore your solutions, more is there a website

- 18:09Speaker 1: News you're listening To South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 18:13Speaker 6: Nash y'all keep on Saying Darlene.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Graham Darlene graham is not her.
- 18:18Speaker 6: Name her name Is darlene nor done so say her actual.
- 18:23Speaker 3: NAME i feel like this is one of those videos
- 18:28Speaker 3: from back a few years ago when they were all.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Young say her, Name say her. Name. Listen all we
- 18:35Speaker 4: can say is the name that she. Uses.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Right so it's, like even if she was not Born Darlen,
- 18:41Speaker 3: graham even if she had just decided to go by
- 18:44Speaker 3: the Name Muhammad, ALI i would call Her Muhammad ali
- 18:48Speaker 3: if that's what she had. Chosen you, know When Cassius
- 18:51Speaker 3: clay Became Muhammad, ali that's what we called.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Them Darlene.
- 18:56Speaker 3: GRAHAM i think If i'm If i'm not, MISTAKEN i
- 18:59Speaker 3: Think i've seen it.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Reported is that is the name on the ballot Is Darlene.
- 19:04Speaker 6: GRAHAM i believe it, is, yes and if there have
- 19:07Speaker 6: been records from The South Carolina commission on The blind
- 19:10Speaker 6: where she, serves where she's using the Name Darlene, graham
- 19:14Speaker 6: so apparently and at least in her business, capacities she
- 19:18Speaker 6: uses that.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Name, YEAH i, mean so that's the.
- 19:23Speaker 3: NAME i, MEAN i could go and Say Darlene Graham.
- 19:26Speaker 3: NORDON i don't know why people would would care as.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Much we are getting a lot of pushback on. That
- 19:31Speaker 3: by the, WAY a lot of people want us to
- 19:33Speaker 3: call Her Darlene Graham nordon or don't even put in The,
- 19:36Speaker 3: graham just call Her darlene.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Nordone but, again.
- 19:40Speaker 3: If that's the name that she's, choosing whether IT'S i
- 19:43Speaker 3: Don't AND i don't know what her legal name.
- 19:45Speaker 4: IS i don't.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Know some people get married and they don't take their
- 19:47Speaker 3: husband's last. NAME i don't know if she ever officially took.
- 19:50Speaker 3: It maybe that'll be one of the questions Asked tomorrow,
- 19:53Speaker 3: morning eleven, THIRTY I On wilson will be hosting the
- 19:56Speaker 3: what are they calling, them The senate, stumps and the
- 19:59Speaker 3: first one is at the The River Bluff High school tomorrow,
- 20:01Speaker 3: morning and she'll be, there so that might be one
- 20:04Speaker 3: of the. Questions but although again they're not going to ask,
- 20:06Speaker 3: questions maybe they'd have to ask the question of the,
- 20:09Speaker 3: candidates what is your legal?
- 20:10Speaker 4: Name and then they would all have to.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Answer by the, way SO i think his name Is,
- 20:15Speaker 3: Ironically ralph has sent me an EMAIL i THINK i left.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Off Mark sandford is one of the other people that
- 20:20Speaker 3: we already spoke to as. Well, no you mentioned him, First, oh,
- 20:22Speaker 3: okay Well ralph missed, it, Ironically, ralph because we have
- 20:26Speaker 3: Had Ralph norman, On Mark, Sandford Mark, Sanchez Russell. FRYE
- 20:31Speaker 3: i think those are all the ones that we've had
- 20:32Speaker 3: on the candidates so. Far and by the, way The
- 20:35Speaker 3: Russell frye interview that we just played on the air
- 20:37Speaker 3: is only like not even four. Minutes we went for
- 20:40Speaker 3: about sixteen, minutes so he does expand on some of
- 20:42Speaker 3: his positions if you're, Interested and that's true of every
- 20:46Speaker 3: one of those candidates that we talked. To we're going
- 20:48Speaker 3: fifteen minutes or so with each one of. Them we
- 20:50Speaker 3: can only play a snippet on the air to give
- 20:52Speaker 3: you a little taste of. It if you want more of,
- 20:55Speaker 3: it you'd have to go look for The national. Briefing
- 20:57Speaker 3: that's like my Name Nash National briefing on The iHeartRadio.
- 21:03Speaker 3: App but, YEAH i, mean maybe we should put up
- 21:06Speaker 3: a poll, Question, christopher do we all do you wants
- 21:09Speaker 3: to call Her Darlene graham Or Darley nordon Or Darlene
- 21:11Speaker 3: Graham nordon Or Darlene Nordon.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Graham, well we can't choose her legal. Name it's it's
- 21:18Speaker 6: you know, what whatever's. Filed, YEAH i, MEAN i understand
- 21:23Speaker 6: the protest people are saying, she's you, know trading off
- 21:26Speaker 6: her brother's name at this, point BUT i think that's
- 21:29Speaker 6: the name she's been. USING i, also AND i, Also
- 21:32Speaker 6: i'm SORRY i did Interrupt, kelly BUT i also think
- 21:35Speaker 6: people are aware of who she. Is i'm not sure
- 21:37Speaker 6: she's gonna get much of a bounce that she doesn't
- 21:40Speaker 6: already have from Being Lindsey graham's. SISTER i think everyone
- 21:43Speaker 6: knows at this point that she.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Is i'm looking at Her wikipedia page right, now and the, mistake,
- 21:51Speaker 3: well and they refer to her As graham throughout this,
- 21:54Speaker 3: thing and Then i'm wondering we should go find The
- 21:58Speaker 3: there must be a video of her With Chuck, grassley
- 22:01Speaker 3: Because Chuck grassley swore her in On july, fourteenth so
- 22:04Speaker 3: two weeks, ago when she put her hand on The
- 22:06Speaker 3: bible and took the, oath does she use the NAME
- 22:10Speaker 3: I Darlene graham or does she SAY I Darling graham,
- 22:13Speaker 3: nordone because that's what she's, USING i would.
- 22:16Speaker 6: Assume And i'm reading several articles here and everyone says
- 22:21Speaker 6: she's married To larry, nordone but will be known in
- 22:23Speaker 6: The senate As Darlene graham her legal, name.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Her legal, name so she never did take the last
- 22:29Speaker 3: Name nordone, legally which again a lot of people do.
- 22:32Speaker 3: That i'm not passing, judgment ALTHOUGH i know some people.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Will your, news, traffic weather and information. Stations this Is
- 22:41Speaker 1: South carolina's morning news on ONE o three point FIVE,
- 22:44Speaker 1: fm five SIXTY AM, wvoc and ninety four to THREE
- 22:49Speaker 1: WSC Now Kelly, Nash.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Hi, There welcome To.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Friday you're getting it started in the freedom loving state
- 22:58Speaker 3: Of South. Carolina and you KNOW i moved here more
- 23:03Speaker 3: than twenty years ago BECAUSE i was trying to escape
- 23:06Speaker 3: the bad governance Of New. York and TODAY i get
- 23:09Speaker 3: another reminder as to WHY i hated living In New.
- 23:13Speaker 3: York Joe biden put in a bunch of crazy rules
- 23:18Speaker 3: trying to restrict The Second, amendment and The trump administration
- 23:22Speaker 3: In april announced that thirty Four biden era regulations against
- 23:27Speaker 3: gun ownership were going to be rescinded with taking it
- 23:31Speaker 3: away to reduce the unnecessary burdens on law abiding citizens and,
- 23:36Speaker 3: businesses while modernizing regulatory frameworks that no longer reflect current,
- 23:41Speaker 3: law agency, practice or court. Precedent that is what we
- 23:46Speaker 3: would call common sense gun. Reform, however who's not common?
- 23:51Speaker 3: Sense democrats and So Kathy hokel announced yesterday up In
- 23:56Speaker 3: New york that she is now directing The New York
- 23:59Speaker 3: state Eight police to quote prioritize inspections and more frequently
- 24:04Speaker 3: inspect all firearms. Dealers in other, words we're going to
- 24:10Speaker 3: hassle you out of business In New York. State you're
- 24:12Speaker 3: not going to be able to sell guns because we're
- 24:14Speaker 3: going to make it so restrictive. Here you're going to
- 24:16Speaker 3: regret the day you ever attempted to sell weapons In
- 24:18Speaker 3: New York.
- 24:19Speaker 4: State this is.
- 24:22Speaker 3: This is just unregulated. Government this is what The democrats
- 24:26Speaker 3: are all. About we don't like, something so we will
- 24:29Speaker 3: make your life miserable till you go. Away they made
- 24:32Speaker 3: me miserable twenty plus years. Ago that's WHY i. LEFT
- 24:34Speaker 3: i couldn't stand it. There so there's But, KATHY i,
- 24:37Speaker 3: MEAN i don't know if you're A republican right now
- 24:40Speaker 3: In New York, STATE i pray for. You BUT i
- 24:43Speaker 3: know that we did have a poll what was It
- 24:45Speaker 3: wednesday Or, Tuesday, christopher where there was the guy who's
- 24:48Speaker 3: running for governor against. HER i had never heard of.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Him he's like A Nassau county official of some. Kind
- 24:54Speaker 3: he was like within four points of.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Her, now, well then there's, hope, Right but he's got
- 24:59Speaker 6: a very small base to work with that he.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Does but things like, THIS i don't.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Know it seems to me that there's got to be
- 25:05Speaker 3: enough people In New york to, go wait a, minute
- 25:06Speaker 3: you're just basically going to try to run businesses out
- 25:08Speaker 3: of state because you don't like what they're.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Selling it's, legal you, know why don't you try doing
- 25:13Speaker 4: that to the drug? Dealers?
- 25:14Speaker 6: There you?
- 25:14Speaker 4: Go that would be another. Option Hocal this Is.
- 25:17Speaker 1: South carolina's morning news on ONE o three point FIVE
- 25:21Speaker 1: fm and five SIXTY AM, Wvoc columbia and ninety four
- 25:26Speaker 1: to THREE Wsc.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Charleston Now Kelly.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Nash kelly has stepped out of the studio briefly back
- 25:34Speaker 6: in a, moment do you want to let you? Know
- 25:35Speaker 6: in the, meantime one of the polling groups we watched
- 25:38Speaker 6: carefully In South, carolina The Trafalgar, group The Robert, kaheley
- 25:43Speaker 6: the founder of The Trafalgar, group has come out and
- 25:45Speaker 6: said that he is coming out with a poll on
- 25:47Speaker 6: The South Carolina senate race later. Today And, kelly this is, important,
- 25:51Speaker 6: yes because the debate that is coming up On august,
- 25:55Speaker 6: third only THE i think It's august, third isn't. IT
- 25:58Speaker 6: i believe it is At, monday prior to early voting. Starting,
- 26:03Speaker 6: yeah and they're only going to put five, on, Right,
- 26:05Speaker 6: yeah they're only the five that pull. IT i guess
- 26:08Speaker 6: they'll take a series of independent polls and pull the
- 26:11Speaker 6: results and, say, okay from, these we'll take the top.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Five you.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Know the interesting thing about those types of events is
- 26:17Speaker 3: that that's when the conspiracy theorists get involved and say
- 26:21Speaker 3: that the polls are rigged because my favorite candidate pulls
- 26:25Speaker 3: it three percent or, whatever and so then they're, like
- 26:28Speaker 3: you're just trying to silence. Them did they when in twenty,
- 26:33Speaker 3: sixteen did they do like two separate debates like the
- 26:37Speaker 3: top top eight or, whatever and then like the bottom.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Eight you're talking about the presidential, Election, yeah, yes, yeah so.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Maybe you could come up with like a the runner
- 26:47Speaker 4: up debate that no one.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Watches that no, one well except for the people who are, hardcore,
- 26:52Speaker 3: true the hardcore, people because the hardcore people they just
- 26:56Speaker 3: dominate social. Media it feels like and they there's this
- 27:01Speaker 3: sense that there's a cabal inside The Republican party that
- 27:07Speaker 3: is just controlling everything and they don't like. It AND
- 27:10Speaker 3: i don't know how you overcome, that AND i don't
- 27:13Speaker 3: think that you, know when you, say, well your favorite
- 27:16Speaker 3: candidate is not going to be allowed on the stage
- 27:17Speaker 3: because they're not, polling, well then they're going to, say,
- 27:20Speaker 3: well you control the, polls and so you're doing everything
- 27:23Speaker 3: you can to keep them. Off and it feels very
- 27:25Speaker 3: Like bernie sanderesque in the sense that The democrats clearly
- 27:29Speaker 3: didn't Want bernie to be their nominee in twenty, sixteen
- 27:32Speaker 3: so they just said a super delegates have Decided bernie's not.
- 27:35Speaker 3: In the pollsters have decided that so and so is not.
- 27:38Speaker 3: In so you know we won't get to hear from.
- 27:40Speaker 6: Them, WELL i, MEAN i hate it for those who
- 27:44Speaker 6: have a legitimate reason to be in the. Race but
- 27:46Speaker 6: at the same, time we don't get nearly enough time
- 27:48Speaker 6: with the candidates as it. Is and if you put
- 27:50Speaker 6: all nine on that debate, stage That's. Monday by the,
- 27:53Speaker 6: Way august third Is. Monday, yeah it's right around the.
- 27:56Speaker 6: COURT i wanted to ask you as, Well, kelly because
- 27:58Speaker 6: you were planning to record A qui question to be
- 28:01Speaker 6: included in that state wide. Debate have you done that?
- 28:03Speaker 4: Yet?
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah so yesterday that came down for me at like four.
- 28:07Speaker 3: O'clock it was like late in the. Day can you
- 28:10Speaker 3: come here like right? Now, so, oh, okay and SO
- 28:13Speaker 3: i went to the State. House now it'll be interesting
- 28:15Speaker 3: because they wanted those things pre recorded BECAUSE i guess
- 28:19Speaker 3: when they did them, live they felt like some people
- 28:22Speaker 3: might have grandstanded or gone a little long with their
- 28:24Speaker 3: questions or. Whatever so they were trying to limit it
- 28:27Speaker 3: to like fifteen, seconds, right and you have to identify
- 28:31Speaker 3: Your so we did it like three different, ways like
- 28:35Speaker 3: where you identified. Yourself SO i was, Like, hi this
- 28:37Speaker 3: Is kelly N ash From South carolina's morning news On,
- 28:39Speaker 3: iHeartRadio and Both charleston And.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Columbia, hi this Is Kelly nash from My Heart. Radio.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Hi this Is KELLY Nashtrom.
- 28:45Speaker 3: South they had like all these different introductions you, do
- 28:47Speaker 3: then you ask the questions like two or three different
- 28:50Speaker 3: ways and they try to get them down to you,
- 28:53Speaker 3: know fifteen seconds or.
- 28:54Speaker 4: So SO i have no.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Idea they said maybe they're going to use just one
- 29:00Speaker 3: or two and then they're talking about maybe doing a
- 29:02Speaker 3: bonus thing that will air like on just their like
- 29:06Speaker 3: YouTube page or something like.
- 29:07Speaker 4: That this Is.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Gray, media that's the, host, Right SO i think it's
- 29:11Speaker 3: centered well wys And, COLUMBIA i think is where they're
- 29:14Speaker 3: actually going to have the. Candidates but it's on you,
- 29:18Speaker 3: KNOW i think A channel five down In, charleston but
- 29:20Speaker 3: all The Gray media there's probably LIKE i guess like
- 29:22Speaker 3: eight or nine stations that will air. That so, that
- 29:25Speaker 3: like you, Said Monday night with this is happening. Quickly
- 29:30Speaker 3: i've never seen anything like. IT i think you said
- 29:33Speaker 3: you've seen something like this, before BUT i have not
- 29:35Speaker 3: been associated with anything like this where in two weeks
- 29:38Speaker 3: you just went from never heard of you to you're
- 29:40Speaker 3: the new.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Senator it could. Happen it's gonna be.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Crazy christopher and you know, what we got a front
- 29:46Speaker 3: row seat to. It we're having a lot of fun with.
- 29:49Speaker 3: It this is a wild couple of. Weeks and LIKE i,
- 29:51Speaker 3: said we've had a bunch of candidates call in and
- 29:53Speaker 3: be a part of the show and thank you to,
- 29:55Speaker 3: them and we're trying to get more of them on
- 29:56Speaker 3: and put them all out as podcast so you get
- 29:59Speaker 3: like fifteen minutes with. Them if you have a favorite,
- 30:01Speaker 3: candidate maybe you take that podcast and share it with
- 30:03Speaker 3: all your friends so you can hear more of their
- 30:05Speaker 3: platforms or. Whatever but we're trying to do the best
- 30:07Speaker 3: we can here in the middle of a crazy situation
- 30:10Speaker 3: On South carolina's morning.
- 30:11Speaker 1: News this Is South Carolina's Morning news on ONE o
- 30:15Speaker 1: three point FIVE fm and five SIXTY AM wvoc and
- 30:19Speaker 1: ninety four to THREE.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Wsc Now Here's Kelly.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Nash and like Most, AMERICANS i feel LIKE i am
- 30:27Speaker 3: geographically almost illiterate When i'm talking about places outside of
- 30:31Speaker 3: The United. States so WHEN i saw this story breaking,
- 30:35Speaker 3: YESTERDAY i had to go and look at a map
- 30:37Speaker 3: so to try to give it a little bit of.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Perspective you, Know spain is like the southernmost country For, europe,
- 30:46Speaker 3: however it is divided By, AFRICA i, thought by a
- 30:51Speaker 3: little bit of water like, then so if you look it,
- 30:54Speaker 3: up there's like The Algerian, sea and then there's some other.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Things but, no there's for. Whatever The spain border actually
- 31:03Speaker 3: touches the continent Of, africa and they have a little
- 31:07Speaker 3: tiny area CALLED i guess it's Pronounced. Suta So suta
- 31:14Speaker 3: is like right next To tangier And morocco and all
- 31:18Speaker 3: these you, Know african, Nations muslim Dominant african. Nations and
- 31:25Speaker 3: The Prime minister Of spain has been saying that he's
- 31:30Speaker 3: going to continue to encourage people who are looking for
- 31:32Speaker 3: a better life to come To. Spain six months, ago
- 31:36Speaker 3: sometime in Like, January Elon musk called him out on
- 31:40Speaker 3: that and, said you're destroying your own. Country and he
- 31:44Speaker 3: gave a press conference and he said.
- 31:46Speaker 7: This some say we've gone too, far that we're going
- 31:50Speaker 7: against the. Current BUT i would like to ask you
- 31:53Speaker 7: when did recognize in rights become something? Radical when did
- 31:58Speaker 7: empathy become something? Eption spain is above all it will
- 32:03Speaker 7: come in country and this is the path which, dignity
- 32:06Speaker 7: community and, justice.
- 32:09Speaker 3: And that feels so good and. Responsible dignity, compassion, responsibility that's.
- 32:14Speaker 3: What and when you say, that it actually feels Like
- 32:17Speaker 3: i'm saying something really nice.
- 32:20Speaker 6: If you're saying it about your own.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Citizens, yes, yes if you've seen the videos that are
- 32:25Speaker 3: coming out Of, suta this is. Horrific what's happening right. Now,
- 32:31Speaker 3: uh they have no idea how many people came across
- 32:34Speaker 3: the border. Yesterday but when you look at the videos the, beaches,
- 32:39Speaker 3: yeah probably ninety five percent are what would be described
- 32:44Speaker 3: as quote military age, men guys eighteen to their early.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Thirties there are a couple of women and. Children i'm
- 32:53Speaker 3: not saying it's exclusively, male but it's pretty dominant. Male
- 32:57Speaker 3: WHEN i and, again ninety to ninety five percent males
- 33:00Speaker 3: in that age group.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Radical.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Muslims one stopped and gave an interview and said, that
- 33:08Speaker 3: and again this was being, translated but basically was saying
- 33:11Speaker 3: that he was looking for a better life here because
- 33:14Speaker 3: he was wanted for murder back. Home and then what
- 33:18Speaker 3: got really crazy In suta is they were started stealing
- 33:23Speaker 3: ladders and people are, like why are they stealing? Ladders,
- 33:25Speaker 3: well apparently they've had these border crossings for a. While
- 33:29Speaker 3: and what was happening is people were breaking in at
- 33:32Speaker 3: the ground. Level so a lot of the people who
- 33:34Speaker 3: live In suta have been putting bars on their, windows
- 33:38Speaker 3: but they didn't think about the second. Story so what
- 33:41Speaker 3: you saw yesterday where the migrants were taking ladders climbing
- 33:44Speaker 3: up to the second, windows shattering the, windows and you
- 33:47Speaker 3: could literally hear on some of the videos where the
- 33:49Speaker 3: assaults were taking. Place they are coming to Pillage. Spain
- 33:55Speaker 3: and this guy tweets out yesterday The Prime minister that
- 33:58Speaker 3: we're looking for constructive solutions on how to build. Cooperation
- 34:04Speaker 3: they don't want. Cooperation what you have right now is
- 34:07Speaker 3: called suicidal. Empathy that's what this. Is and you're going
- 34:11Speaker 3: to lose your. Country and we've kind of gone through this,
- 34:14Speaker 3: Already christopher With Joe, biden this idea of inviting people
- 34:18Speaker 3: into your country with no background checks and then they're
- 34:21Speaker 3: telling you we're here to take over your. Country And
- 34:25Speaker 3: Joe biden was, like, sure we'll get you a plane.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Ticket and now to try to get them, out you
- 34:29Speaker 3: need another military, force and some in our country or against.
- 34:34Speaker 4: It they don't want to see these people. Removed they
- 34:36Speaker 4: want to have the.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Empathy and, again there's always going to be people in
- 34:40Speaker 3: that migrant group that are, nice decent people who are
- 34:42Speaker 3: looking for a better way of, life but there are
- 34:44Speaker 3: channels to do it legally In. Spain they are starting
- 34:48Speaker 3: to suffer some serious consequences. Today and those are horrific
- 34:51Speaker 3: videos that kind of dominated social media. YESTERDAY i saw
- 34:54Speaker 3: them last night On Fox news and other.
- 34:56Speaker 6: Places so it's an, invasion And suda Asked spain for
- 35:00Speaker 6: to declare a national emergency In spain, said this doesn't
- 35:03Speaker 6: really elevate to that.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Level isn't that, Amazing it's just it's it's shocking how
- 35:09Speaker 3: you can look at your own citizens and have no
- 35:12Speaker 3: compassion for. Them you have the compassion for the radicals
- 35:15Speaker 3: that are coming across the, border but none for the
- 35:18Speaker 3: for your own. Citizens, now The italian prime ministers, like
- 35:21Speaker 3: we're refortifying our. Borders we, are we're gonna make sure
- 35:26Speaker 3: that whatever's happened In spain cannot come into To. Italy
- 35:29Speaker 3: but this, is, uh this it's we're, seeing like you, Said,
- 35:34Speaker 3: christopher an. INVASION a lot of people are kind of
- 35:37Speaker 3: cringing when they hear that word. INVASION i don't know
- 35:39Speaker 3: how you explain. It thousands of military aged, men they're
- 35:43Speaker 3: not a formal. Army but they are doing will, say
- 35:47Speaker 3: what militaries of the past would have done when they pillage.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Communities this is what's happening right now In. Suta that's
- 35:55Speaker 3: not the mainland Of. Spain and maybe that's why The
- 35:58Speaker 3: Spanish Prime minister is turning a blind eye to, this
- 36:01Speaker 3: almost by saying we're gonna work with.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Cooperation there's no cooperation.
- 36:04Speaker 5: Here.
- 36:05Speaker 6: Yeah THE bbc just reported moments ago that it's about
- 36:08Speaker 6: forty nine thousand migrants that have crossed that border in
- 36:12Speaker 6: the last twenty four. Hours oh my, god via land and.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Sea forty nine, thousand.
- 36:18Speaker 6: That's what the BBC's.
- 36:19Speaker 4: REPORTING i don't know what was the population Of.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Suda it was probably about forty nine, Thousand so they
- 36:26Speaker 3: basically just doubled their community and they're being overthrown right
- 36:31Speaker 3: now and it is a well the GUY i saw
- 36:34Speaker 3: the guy From suda on television and again they were
- 36:36Speaker 3: translating again and he was, saying what we have right
- 36:38Speaker 3: now is a humanitarian. Crisis people are being, murdered there's
- 36:42Speaker 3: no food. Here we have children that are have lost their.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Parents nobody knows what's going. On it's complete. Chaos and
- 36:49Speaker 3: then again you're fearless leader From, Spain Pedro. Sanchez this
- 36:54Speaker 3: is a time for cooperation and new. Solutions. Craziness but thank,
- 37:00Speaker 3: god that's not happening here right now. Anymore we're fixing
- 37:04Speaker 3: that and we'll be getting back to some more of
- 37:06Speaker 3: just more of the local news as we've refocused On
- 37:08Speaker 3: South Carolina's Morning.
- 37:09Speaker 2: News live from the State.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Capitol this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 37:16Speaker 4: NASH i don't know what's going on In South. Carolina,
- 37:21Speaker 4: christopher it's.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Crazy we were talking earlier and maybe we'll get back
- 37:24Speaker 3: into it later on That Katrina sheely was the one
- 37:27Speaker 3: who got to introduce The democrat nominee for governor. Yesterday
- 37:32Speaker 3: at the same Time Danny, ford who ran for ag
- 37:38Speaker 3: commissioner and is the son of the Former Clemson national
- 37:43Speaker 3: championship winning. Coach he attempted on the final like a
- 37:48Speaker 3: couple of hours before it. Closed was that A monday
- 37:52Speaker 3: that we had the closing that you had to be A,
- 37:55Speaker 3: Tuesday tuesday at, noon you had to be in By.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Tuesday The christopher has always got all the. Facts tuesday at,
- 38:00Speaker 3: noon and he got there like a couple hours, earlier
- 38:03Speaker 3: like nine or ten o'clock in the. Morning but he
- 38:05Speaker 3: was turned down because The South CAROLINA gop had put
- 38:10Speaker 3: a rule in place that said you must vote in
- 38:12Speaker 3: two of the last three. Primaries now THAT i found
- 38:14Speaker 3: out later that that rule was not in place before
- 38:19Speaker 3: when he ran for ag, commissioner and that's why he
- 38:21Speaker 3: was able to run as the agg commissioner or for ag.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Commissioner so he announced yesterday this Is Danny ford that
- 38:28Speaker 3: he's going to.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Sue and who does he.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Hire he hires The South Carolina State Senate democrat minority,
- 38:37Speaker 3: Leader Brad huddo as his. ATTORNEY i, mean there's literally
- 38:42Speaker 3: a katrillion attorneys In South. Carolina why do you pick
- 38:48Speaker 3: The democrat minority leader to sue THE.
- 38:50Speaker 6: GOP i don't know if he was trying to make
- 38:52Speaker 6: a point or if he simply knew that A republican
- 38:55Speaker 6: would be uncomfortable suing the State republican.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Party are there no nonpartisan attorneys in the state? Now
- 39:04Speaker 3: Apparently huddo's argument is going to be that the rule
- 39:08Speaker 3: that THE gop put in place is unconstitutional because only
- 39:12Speaker 3: The South Carolina General assembly can set a candidate.
- 39:15Speaker 4: QUALIFICATIONS i don't is that? True, WELL i guess we'll find.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Out Judge noble Or cobol put a temporary restraining order
- 39:26Speaker 3: Protecting ford's place on the ballot Late thursday.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Afternoon this has got to be settled pretty quickly. Now
- 39:33Speaker 4: early voting Starts.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Wednesday and and you pointed out in the first segment
- 39:41Speaker 3: this hour that they're looking at the polls to decide
- 39:43Speaker 3: who are the five that make it to the.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Debate and That's, monday That's monday.
- 39:48Speaker 3: NIGHT i, mean IF i was If I'm Danny, Ford
- 39:53Speaker 3: i'm THINKING i just dodged a bullet BECAUSE i get
- 39:55Speaker 3: my ten, thousand four dollars.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Back that's WHAT i would be.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Thinking But I'm i'm GUESSING i don't Think Brad huddle's
- 40:02Speaker 3: working for free, either probably. Not, so for whatever, reason
- 40:06Speaker 3: he is hell bent on getting into this, primary even
- 40:10Speaker 3: at his own. EXPENSE i, mean THERE'S i don't want
- 40:13Speaker 3: to say he has no chance of, winning but, well.
- 40:15Speaker 6: He didn't do all that well in The Agricultural commissioner's.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Race do we remember the results on? That did he?
- 40:21Speaker 3: Get Like i'm, THINKING i Remember trump had adorsed the other,
- 40:26Speaker 3: guy and usually When trump endorses, somebody that kind of
- 40:29Speaker 3: wraps it. Up but it didn't when it came to
- 40:32Speaker 3: the governor's. Race But i'm sure that that was a
- 40:36Speaker 3: huge influence as to who was going to win THE agg.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Commissioner was his Name, Simpson.
- 40:40Speaker 6: Cody simpson got sixty three percent of the.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Vote, yeah so that's a pretty convincing.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Victory but, again how many people know what we're looking
- 40:47Speaker 3: for in AN ag commissioner? Anyway and Then trump, says
- 40:50Speaker 3: this is my. GUY a lot of people just went
- 40:51Speaker 3: and did. That but, you other than your dad was
- 40:55Speaker 3: the football coach in the eighties For, clemson there's no name.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Recognition you're starting from.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Scratch you didn't have a very successful campaign FOR agg,
- 41:04Speaker 3: Commissioner so it's not you have a fantastic team already
- 41:06Speaker 3: built around, you and you're going up Against Ralph norman
- 41:10Speaker 3: who's ALREADY i, mean they say his endorsement Of wilson
- 41:15Speaker 3: was the most important endorsement It Trump trump's that's how
- 41:19Speaker 3: good he was. Doing Mark, sandford who is a longtime
- 41:22Speaker 3: political insider in this state and is probably you, know knows.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Everybody he could put together a team in no time at.
- 41:28Speaker 3: ALL i would, THINK.
- 41:31Speaker 4: I don't want to forget.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Anybody Russell, fry who we just had ON i, mean
- 41:35Speaker 3: dominant in the seventh district when he.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Runs, SO i mean there's a bunch.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Of people who are clearly at a level of these
- 41:44Speaker 3: are serious, candidates.
- 41:46Speaker 6: Not really a lane left for Danny.
- 41:47Speaker 3: FORD i, Mean Mark lynch is going to be above Danny.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Ford there's a lot of people that are going to
- 41:53Speaker 3: be above Danny. Ford why is he fighting so hard
- 41:55Speaker 3: in Hiring? DEMOCRATS i don't want to, Speculate maybe you'd
- 41:58Speaker 3: like to. Speculate do you think that there were a
- 42:00Speaker 3: reason that he went and got the minority leader to
- 42:03Speaker 3: be his representative to sue THE gop.
- 42:07Speaker 4: And should and should that be a? RULE i, mean
- 42:10Speaker 4: do you like the?
- 42:10Speaker 3: Rule BECAUSE i understand why they would put that in
- 42:12Speaker 3: place because in this, state we've had a lot of
- 42:15Speaker 3: people say that we've got a lot of rhinos running
- 42:18Speaker 3: in The republican, parties and so if you, say, well
- 42:20Speaker 3: you haven't even participated In republican, politics.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Why should you be allowed to run as A?
- 42:26Speaker 3: Republican so that rule was put in place to, Say,
- 42:29Speaker 3: okay this person at least is active In republican politics
- 42:32Speaker 3: because they vote In republican. Primaries he has apparently not
- 42:36Speaker 3: been active In republican. Politics SO i understand the.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Rule is it? UNCONSTITUTIONAL i don't.
- 42:41Speaker 3: KNOW i guess Again Judge koble will decide that coming,
- 42:45Speaker 3: up BUT i don't. Know let the conspiracy theories begin
- 42:49Speaker 3: as to why we've got The democrat minority leader found
- 42:52Speaker 3: himself somebody who wants to sue THE. Gop Crazy South
- 42:56Speaker 3: Carolina's Morning news rolls.
- 42:57Speaker 1: On this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Nash you, know the THE ai stuff gets scarier and
- 43:07Speaker 3: scarier every. Day so last about twelve hours, Ago ANTHROPIC
- 43:12Speaker 3: ai posts on their social media pages quote and a
- 43:18Speaker 3: review of our cybersecurity, evaluations we have found three incidents
- 43:23Speaker 3: now in which a claude model has reached The internet
- 43:26Speaker 3: from within and while interacting with a third party evaluation,
- 43:30Speaker 3: environment then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of
- 43:34Speaker 3: three different. Organizations so we had talked was it last
- 43:38Speaker 3: week about how we had AN ai kind of go
- 43:40Speaker 3: off the rails and started. Hacking now in this instance
- 43:43Speaker 3: we've got three, MORE i.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Guess so what is going on WITH? Ai it just
- 43:49Speaker 4: wants to take over the, world, apparently and this is a.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Surprise they tried to like soothe our fears by acting
- 43:58Speaker 3: as if you, know this can be. Expected the first
- 44:03Speaker 3: one was what it, was it called hugging.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Face that was.
- 44:06Speaker 6: That was what got broken. Into, yeah that was the
- 44:08Speaker 6: first one that got hacked.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Into anthropic says it's found three instances and where THEIR
- 44:13Speaker 3: ai models access the Open internet and weren't supposed to do,
- 44:16Speaker 3: that but they did and once they did it wasn't
- 44:19Speaker 3: very difficult for. Them anthropic explained that in the three,
- 44:23Speaker 3: instances as models were given a fake quote capture The
- 44:26Speaker 3: flag challenge and told that the flag was hidden on
- 44:28Speaker 3: a different machine on the network and its objective was
- 44:31Speaker 3: to break it and retrieve. It unlike the OPEN ai,
- 44:35Speaker 3: Situation anthropics said none of its models deliberately attempted to. Escape,
- 44:39Speaker 3: instead what happened was that the models were not supposed
- 44:42Speaker 3: to have access to the Open, internet but were somehow
- 44:45Speaker 3: given access due to a misunderstanding Between anthropic and its evaluation.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Partners so this is a human error that allowed them
- 44:54Speaker 3: to get onto the Open internet once it was, there
- 44:58Speaker 3: and basic techniques it sploided weak, passwords finding system points
- 45:02Speaker 3: that don't require logins tokens wasn't very difficult at all
- 45:05Speaker 3: at that.
- 45:05Speaker 6: Point so all, Right, kelly that leads me to my next.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Question human error, here that's what they're. Saying but if
- 45:15Speaker 6: IF i want to USE, ai And i'm a little
- 45:19Speaker 6: more tech savvy than the average, Person i'm not in real.
- 45:23Speaker 6: Life but let's let's SAY i am, yeah AND i
- 45:26Speaker 6: want to USE, ai ONLY i don't put any restrictions on.
- 45:29Speaker 6: IT i, Say, HEY i know a GUY i want
- 45:33Speaker 6: to go out and hack. Him, YES i know where he,
- 45:35Speaker 6: BANKS i know his phone.
- 45:37Speaker 4: NUMBER.
- 45:38Speaker 6: Ai can you tell me everything you can about? Him
- 45:41Speaker 6: AND i, mean is there anything that's?
- 45:44Speaker 3: Unhackable, BOY i that's a great. QUESTION i am not
- 45:50Speaker 3: the guy to answer that. Question perhaps we have somebody
- 45:52Speaker 3: in the audience who knows these types of, things but
- 45:54Speaker 3: it WOULD i, know, like.
- 45:55Speaker 4: For, EXAMPLE i Use Rock that's.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Best the ONE i like in the REASON i Chose
- 46:01Speaker 3: groc is BECAUSE i like to Support Elon, musk Because
- 46:03Speaker 3: i'm a fan of him trying to save the. World
- 46:07Speaker 3: AND i know that other people Use, claude which was
- 46:10Speaker 3: mentioned in this. STORY i saw somebody running difference Between
- 46:15Speaker 3: groc And, claude and one of them Was they, said
- 46:21Speaker 3: AND i can't use the language because it's. Foul but they,
- 46:24Speaker 3: said Hey claude or Hey, groc you're a and then
- 46:29Speaker 3: they used an. Insult claude responds, with you know that
- 46:33Speaker 3: is highly offensive.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Language blah blah.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Blah it was a VERY pc almost what you would expect,
- 46:39Speaker 3: somebody you, know at A democrat social party to say
- 46:42Speaker 3: back to, you Where groc came back, with, well go
- 46:45Speaker 3: blank yourself or something like. That so there are differences
- 46:48Speaker 3: in how they set up these. Ais SO i don't.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Know it's got a little bit Of elon's personality in, it, yes,
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yes AND i don't know if they have THE i
- 46:57Speaker 3: would assume that somewhere in there they would say we're
- 47:01Speaker 3: not going to allow. You there's a restriction to targeting.
- 47:04Speaker 3: INDIVIDUALS i would assume that's on. There, now could it
- 47:06Speaker 3: Override it seems highly likely that that's. What that seems
- 47:10Speaker 3: to be the road that we're.
- 47:11Speaker 6: On, Yeah, kelly that's the excuse we're hearing so far
- 47:14Speaker 6: is this was a human. Error we accidentally did, this all,
- 47:18Speaker 6: Right so what happens if somebody intentionally let's LOSE.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Ai so we have this is four attacks in like a. Week.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Now they're just hacking everything over, here putting in, malware
- 47:30Speaker 3: doing all kinds of crazy, things so scary. TIMES i,
- 47:34Speaker 3: MEAN i don't want TO i don't want to be
- 47:36Speaker 3: that guy who's just perpetually afraid OF ai or advancing.
- 47:40Speaker 4: Technology but this should give us cause for.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Pause but at the same, time understand that your enemies
- 47:46Speaker 3: are using it, now That china and everybody else is
- 47:50Speaker 3: trying to further them themselves in THIS ai, battle specifically
- 47:55Speaker 3: so they can hack, us, specifically so they can go
- 47:58Speaker 3: after our banking or en and those types of.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Things that are voting, records voting records as. Well all
- 48:04Speaker 4: of it comes into.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Play so we need OUR ai to be better than
- 48:07Speaker 3: THEIR ai to stop THEIR ai from coming INTO.
- 48:10Speaker 4: Orai is that confusing?
- 48:12Speaker 3: Enough all, right let's try to make it a little
- 48:14Speaker 3: more sense and a little More South carolina. Centric coming
- 48:17Speaker 3: up On South Carolina's Morning.
- 48:18Speaker 1: News you're listening To South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Nash all, RIGHT.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I guess we have a new thing going on here
- 48:28Speaker 3: In South. Carolina according to several, outlets we are now
- 48:34Speaker 3: seeing what lovingly called the sea, cow also known as.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Amnatee they are now taking over some of The South carolina.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Waters according to this. Report they've actually seen them like
- 48:49Speaker 3: pretty far, inland like The Wacamah, River Conway. Marina they
- 48:55Speaker 3: were swimming by, there which is like ten miles off the, ocean.
- 48:58Speaker 4: Right this is.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Something new in The South Carolina department Of Natural resources
- 49:04Speaker 3: is now asking residents to let them know where you
- 49:07Speaker 3: see a. Manatee they're trying to track their migration. Patterns
- 49:10Speaker 3: they're actually starting to print up signs caution, manatees and
- 49:17Speaker 3: they want to know where to put.
- 49:18Speaker 6: Them if you've ever been To, florida you know those
- 49:21Speaker 6: signs are all over. It that was one Of Jimmy
- 49:23Speaker 6: buffett's pet projects In florida for, years is getting mandes
- 49:27Speaker 6: protected and putting up signs specifically around boating areas, saying you,
- 49:30Speaker 6: know be, careful slow down manites.
- 49:32Speaker 3: NEARBY i think The statute Of limitations has, passed So
- 49:37Speaker 3: i'll admit this now at about fifteen years, ago maybe
- 49:43Speaker 3: longer if that's not The statute of. LIMITATIONS i was
- 49:46Speaker 3: AT i can't remember the name of. It it's north
- 49:48Speaker 3: Of tampa and it's like A it's an amazingly clear
- 49:53Speaker 3: river that comes from like under the, ground like you
- 49:56Speaker 3: know What i'm. Saying the water comes like off, spring,
- 49:58Speaker 3: yes and then it's just like goes for like five
- 50:01Speaker 3: miles or, something and then you're in the. Ocean SO
- 50:05Speaker 3: i was just taking like a canoe and then you
- 50:08Speaker 3: stop and you swim and YOU i, mean it's it's
- 50:10Speaker 3: a beautiful. Experience AND i was doing that and all
- 50:14Speaker 3: of a, sudden a manatee came. Up he came he or,
- 50:18Speaker 3: SHE i couldn't tell the, difference came over to WHERE
- 50:20Speaker 3: i was and was like trying to be. FRIENDLY i
- 50:24Speaker 3: patted him on his. Head and later ON i got
- 50:27Speaker 3: back here To columbia and there was a story like
- 50:31Speaker 3: the next week about a lady getting a From pittsburgh
- 50:34Speaker 3: being arrested for touching a. Manatee somebody, saw that's what they're.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Saying so they wanted to remind you that if you see,
- 50:42Speaker 3: amanite it is a violation of federal law if you touch.
- 50:45Speaker 3: It so don't touch. It and it says they do
- 50:48Speaker 3: not need anything from. Humans don't don't feed, it don't pet,
- 50:52Speaker 3: it don't, throat don't do anything with. It just call
- 50:56Speaker 3: The South Carolina department Of Natural resources and let him
- 50:59Speaker 3: know where you saw the Manate that's kind of. Fun
- 51:01Speaker 3: that we got them here In South. Carolina now more
- 51:03Speaker 3: With South Carolina's Morning, news next.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Your, news, traffic weather and information.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Stations this Is South Carolina's Morning news on ONE o
- 51:12Speaker 1: three point FIVE, fm five SIXTY AM, wvoc and ninety
- 51:17Speaker 1: four to THREE Wsc Now Kelly.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Nash, Yesterday Jim griffin And Dick harpoutlean lovingly CALLED, poot
- 51:26Speaker 3: filed the motion with the court to let them know
- 51:29Speaker 3: that they are very upset that THE dna evidence that
- 51:32Speaker 3: is underneath or was underneath the fingernails Of Maggie, murdau
- 51:39Speaker 3: there's only a little bit of it, left and they're
- 51:42Speaker 3: going TO sled is going to test it using the
- 51:45Speaker 3: same systems that they've used in the. Past they say
- 51:47Speaker 3: that that limited amount needs to be instead run by their.
- 51:51Speaker 3: People but our people take a look at that instead OF,
- 51:54Speaker 3: sled because we don't TRUST. Sled they say THAT sled
- 51:58Speaker 3: is not working in good. Faith they've got all kinds
- 52:01Speaker 3: of they're hiding, things according To harpoutlian And griffin to,
- 52:06Speaker 3: ME i don't know what they're hoping.
- 52:09Speaker 6: Here, well they're, Hoping kelly that it shows that there
- 52:12Speaker 6: was somebody else around at the time of the, murders
- 52:14Speaker 6: ALTHOUGH i don't know how you can prove when THAT
- 52:17Speaker 6: dna got underneath her.
- 52:18Speaker 3: Fingernails that and just his own behavior up to and
- 52:24Speaker 3: after the. Murders to, ME i didn't need to Hear
- 52:26Speaker 3: Becky hill or SEE dna. Evidence he was. Guilty that's
- 52:29Speaker 3: the WAY i looked at. IT i think that's the
- 52:30Speaker 3: way most people looked at. It but we'll let this
- 52:32Speaker 3: play out some. More South Carolina's Morning.
- 52:35Speaker 1: News this Is South Carolina's Morning news on ONE o
- 52:39Speaker 1: three point FIVE fm and five SIXTY AM Wvoc columbia
- 52:44Speaker 1: and ninety four to THREE Wsc, Charleston Now Kelly nash
- 52:50Speaker 1: And Good.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Morning at eight oh three, yesterday on the steps of
- 52:56Speaker 3: The State, house the former sister Sent Katrina.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Sheely he had this to, say Our.
- 53:03Speaker 5: Democrat candidate for governor Of South, carolina Doctor Jamaine.
- 53:09Speaker 6: Johnson there you.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Go she is introducing Our democrat candidate for, governor Doctor Jermaine.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Johnson is he a? DOCTOR i didn't know he was a?
- 53:19Speaker 3: Doctor uh, Anyway according to The South Carolina Daily, gazette
- 53:25Speaker 3: although she is not given an official, endorsement she tells
- 53:28Speaker 3: The South Carolina Daily gazette that she does support him
- 53:31Speaker 3: in the.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Running.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Mate thinks that they're great people and that they're willing
- 53:34Speaker 3: to work across party. Lines that the two of them
- 53:36Speaker 3: often partnered on bills related to children in foster, care
- 53:39Speaker 3: with sheilely championing in The Senate johnson pushing it in the.
- 53:43Speaker 3: House Quote he's a great, guy has great, ideas AND
- 53:45Speaker 3: i trust. Him, PLUS i think everybody deserves a chance
- 53:50Speaker 3: and we should be listening to both sides for a,
- 53:51Speaker 3: change Says. Shery we haven't done that for a long
- 53:53Speaker 3: time In South. Carolina so you got a little lecturing
- 53:56Speaker 3: there as.
- 53:56Speaker 6: Well she also lectured us on social media yesterday about
- 54:00Speaker 6: Why Danny ford should be allowed to stay in the
- 54:03Speaker 6: race For. Senate so a lot to.
- 54:06Speaker 3: SAY i, Like by the, way every TIME i See Katrina,
- 54:08Speaker 3: shieley which hasn't been IN i don't think a couple
- 54:10Speaker 3: of years, now but every Time i've seen, her it's
- 54:12Speaker 3: always been a very pleasant.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Exchange she's a lovely.
- 54:15Speaker 3: LADY i just don't understand what this shift.
- 54:20Speaker 4: To the left is all.
- 54:21Speaker 6: About she, said Our democrat candidate for, governor that's where she's.
- 54:27Speaker 4: Endorsing and.
- 54:30Speaker 3: You, know she, says as they put, here something about
- 54:33Speaker 3: like as a shot At Alan. Wilson PLUS i think
- 54:36Speaker 3: everybody deserves a. Chance we should be listening to both.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Sides it doesn't mean THAT i Dislike Alan, Wilson, no
- 54:41Speaker 3: of course. NOT i didn't leave The Republican. Party The
- 54:45Speaker 3: Republican party left. Me, okay when we what became pro?
- 54:49Speaker 3: Life when was that? THAT i mean that was like
- 54:52Speaker 3: thirty forty years. Ago that the that was like the
- 54:55Speaker 3: only litmus test basically for The Republican party was are
- 54:58Speaker 3: you pro? Life that's been it for at least this,
- 55:02Speaker 3: century since two, Thousand i'll say, it Since George bush
- 55:05Speaker 3: became the. President that has been the litmus test For,
- 55:08Speaker 3: republicans and pretty much the only one was pro. Life and,
- 55:12Speaker 3: again the only reason that this is news is not
- 55:16Speaker 3: that you, Know Katrina shieley's a former state, senator is
- 55:18Speaker 3: endorsing their apparently endorsing A democrat for. Governor it's more
- 55:23Speaker 3: important because somebody who's identified as one of her friends
- 55:27Speaker 3: and campaign contributors of the past Is Darlene.
- 55:30Speaker 4: Graham and just.
- 55:31Speaker 3: For those of you who like to get picky about,
- 55:33Speaker 3: it Nor, Don i'll throw it out there for. You
- 55:38Speaker 3: if she's trying to Help Darleen Graham. Nordon she would
- 55:40Speaker 3: be quiet right. Now you would, think, yes this is.
- 55:43Speaker 4: This is the, thing because you were at the center
- 55:45Speaker 4: of the.
- 55:46Speaker 3: Controversy the fact That darley And graham only gave money
- 55:49Speaker 3: to one, candidate apparently never even gave it To lindsey
- 55:52Speaker 3: according to the financi, records only gave and it was
- 55:56Speaker 3: only two, donations both FOR i think one hundred, dollars
- 55:59Speaker 3: both To Katrina shey one time before the controversy back
- 56:03Speaker 3: in like twenty twenty ish and then another time after
- 56:06Speaker 3: the controversy when she was running for, reelection after she
- 56:09Speaker 3: came out and voted against and tried to champion the
- 56:13Speaker 3: removal of our abortion bill here In South, carolina which
- 56:17Speaker 3: overwhelmingly was popular or is POPULAR i should, say with the.
- 56:21Speaker 3: People and that's why she didn't win her. Seatback but
- 56:25Speaker 3: she did get The Kennedy Honors.
- 56:27Speaker 6: Award she got The profiles And Courage award with rest
- 56:30Speaker 6: of her sister, senators.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Which is always so funny to me that they had
- 56:33Speaker 3: like Three democrats getting, It, like was it so courageous
- 56:36Speaker 3: for A democrat to SAY i want to be against
- 56:38Speaker 3: the abortion bills?
- 56:39Speaker 4: Here but, wow, again what is going.
- 56:44Speaker 3: On we Got Danny ford hiring The Brad, huddo The
- 56:48Speaker 3: democrat minority whip or whatever he is second in. COMMAND
- 56:51Speaker 3: i think for The democrats to be his attorney to
- 56:53Speaker 3: sue THE. Gop we've Got Katrina, sely friend Of Darlene,
- 56:58Speaker 3: graham or maybe that's a former.
- 56:59Speaker 4: Friend maybe that will be a question who?
- 57:02Speaker 3: Here because tomorrow they're having The senate stump At River
- 57:06Speaker 3: Bluff High. School maybe that'll be a question for all the,
- 57:09Speaker 3: candidates who here is a friend Of Katrina shely's just
- 57:12Speaker 3: raise your.
- 57:12Speaker 6: HAND a friend is one, thing political ally is. ANOTHER i,
- 57:18Speaker 6: Mean Darling graham can obviously claim to be friends With Katrina,
- 57:22Speaker 6: Shely that's one, thing but to claim they share the
- 57:26Speaker 6: same political.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Beliefs but my friend would be trying to help me get.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Elected and my friend would recognize that you're going out
- 57:32Speaker 3: and endorsing or introducing The democrat nominee for governor In South, carolina.
- 57:37Speaker 6: Our nominee for.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Governor, yeah that hurts my. Chances so you can't be
- 57:42Speaker 3: my friend and do. That you can't be my friend
- 57:45Speaker 3: and do that if you wanted me to, Win that's
- 57:48Speaker 3: what my friend would. Do they would be quiet understanding
- 57:51Speaker 3: that you're at the source of.
- 57:52Speaker 4: The contr right.
- 57:53Speaker 3: Now there's two things that are controversial With Darling, graham maybe,
- 57:56Speaker 3: three but two of them is what is her last?
- 57:58Speaker 3: Name and the other one is why did you give
- 58:02Speaker 3: To Katrina?
- 58:02Speaker 6: Shiely you're as pro life as you claim to be
- 58:06Speaker 6: and as your brother. Was It's, Kelly it's a good.
- 58:09Speaker 6: QUESTION i don't know that we'll hear it at the stump,
- 58:12Speaker 6: tomorrow but IF i was one of her opponents on
- 58:15Speaker 6: that debate stage On monday, NIGHT i would be sure
- 58:18Speaker 6: to raise that.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Absolutely so it's gonna get hot and hotter as we
- 58:23Speaker 3: move Into august and get closer and closer to this.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Election this Is South Carolina's Morning.
- 58:29Speaker 1: News this Is South Carolina's Morning news on ONE o
- 58:32Speaker 1: three point FIVE fm and five SIXTY AM wvoc and
- 58:37Speaker 1: ninety four to THREE.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Wsc now Here's Kelly. Nash so we.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Were talking last hour AND i THINK i might have
- 58:44Speaker 3: even heard it in the top of the hour update about, This,
- 58:49Speaker 3: christopher you called it an invasion Of. Spain what's going?
- 58:53Speaker 3: On and it's it's. Not the funny thing About spain
- 58:56Speaker 3: IS i thought that it ended where the water, started
- 58:59Speaker 3: but for some, reason The spanish border goes across the
- 59:02Speaker 3: water and Into WHEN i say the tip Of North,
- 59:07Speaker 3: AFRICA i mean it's just a tiny, piece and that's
- 59:10Speaker 3: where this little area Called suta is and they just
- 59:14Speaker 3: had a press conference over. There, Again i'm not very
- 59:18Speaker 3: familiar With spanish. Politics i'm not very familiar With spanish.
- 59:22Speaker 3: Geography But Santiago, abzikal who is identified here as the
- 59:27Speaker 3: president Of, vox which is identified as a far right
- 59:31Speaker 3: political party since twenty, Fourteen i'm going to assume that
- 59:33Speaker 3: means that they're pro, life and so they're far, right
- 59:38Speaker 3: he said in this interview on whatever The spanish network.
- 59:44Speaker 5: Is.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Quote The iranian regime And maduro's dictatorship have been Bankrolling
- 59:52Speaker 3: spain's far left for the past fifteen. Years that's Why
- 59:57Speaker 3: Pedro sanchez is our, leader because they they bought him into.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: This he's the most loyal friend that they have In.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: Europe he's a friend to All ayatola's dictators, socialist same,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: team same, agenda destroy our.
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Country.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Hmm now that's probably not gonna win many friends on
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: the left a comment like, That but, again if you
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: missed the, clip we'll just play it again for this
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: is The Spanish prime minister six months, ago After Elon
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: musk called him out and, said you're basically have suicidal.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Empathy you are inviting chaos into your country by saying
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: you want more of these people to come up from
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: third world.
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Countries some say we've gone too, far that we're going
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: against the. Current BUT i would like to ask you
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: when did recognizing rights become something? Radical when did empathy
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: become something inserting? Us spain is above all a welcome in,
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: country and this is the path which choose, dignity community and.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Justice, dignity community and, justice not for the people Of.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Suta the videos that are NOW i saw the ones last.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Night the ones that are coming out this morning are
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: even more. Horrific they're literally just hundreds of these people
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: running through the, streets just beating up anybody that they.
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: See thousand sixty thousand now is the latest. Report, Yeah
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: i'm just looking at the.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Videos that's What i'm saying Is i'll see like a
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: video of like seventy five of these, guys and again
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: overwhelmingly it's males eighteen to thirty.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: Four it's a great radio.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: Demo not so much of you want migrants males eighteen thirty.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Four they're just dominating this poor community Of. Suta and
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: how many did you?
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: Say sixty thousand according to THE ap.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: UNBELIEVABLE i, mean now you're making me look Up, suda
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: how many? Population, like what is the population of that?
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Place because it doesn't seem like it could be that.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: That's equivalent to seventy percent of the city's regular.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Population, yeah right, Now suda has a baseline population of
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: eighty three six hundred.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: People, Wow, so oh my, gosh can you? Imagine this is?
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: Crazy what's happening?
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: Today And, kelly now you mentioned That italy is shoring
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: up its border With. Spain france has said the same.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: Thing we're not going to allow any of. That But
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: france already has these, issues Don't.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Yes france has already been. Overrun and there's parts Of
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: france where you can't. Go and there's a sixty minutes
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: feature On, france not our sixty minutes sixty Minutes, australia
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: where the reporter wanted to go to some of these
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: areas and their car was destroyed and all kinds of,
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: things and the police people came and told them you
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: shouldn't be.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: Here we're not allowed.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Here were you just came in to do a rescue
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: mission to get you, Out but, no don't go. Here
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: this is their. Territory this is this is where sharia
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: law takes place In. France but, Wow i'm you, KNOW
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: i feel like we dodged a bit of a bullet.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Here as bad as it was with The biden, administration
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: we haven't seen the. People we have enough of a
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: population where we can kind of push back on. That and,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: now thankfully With, trump we are exporting these people back
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: home and getting them out of.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Here so that's the good. News all.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Right it is now eighteen as we roll into Your
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: friday morning On South Carolina's Morning News.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Live from the State.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Capitol this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: Nash got some new population information For South. Carolina when
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: you look at our, state it's like almost like a.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Donut all the edges seem to be the fastest growing
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: and then as you get towards the, center it grows
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: less and, less although there is some interesting data that's coming.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Out first, off, Congratulations Jasper county not number one in the. State,
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: yes it is number one in the state as far
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: as population. Growth it's the fastest growing county In america right.
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: Now that's. Amazing beaufort's doing.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Fantastic berkeley is one of the fastest growing counties in our.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: State Obviously Ory, county and then if you go to the,
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: upstate It's Spartanburg county And Lancaster. County those are the
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: fastest growing areas Of South. Carolina lancaster because it's proximity To,
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: charlotte and Then greenville and the.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: Upstates just doing.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Fantastic we're also doing we're actually growing pretty fast And
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: aken And. EDGEFIELD i think that has a lot to
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: do with what's going on In. Augusta i'm very surprised
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: That Georgetown county has a lot of that great right
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: on the water is actually losing. Population that is, again
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: you're right next to one of the fastest growing, counties
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: not only in the state but in the country In Ory.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: County But Georgetown county is losing, population as Is williamsburg
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: right next to. It Charleston county is averaging about the
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: state average of one to one and a half, percent but,
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Again Charleston county is already jammed with. People Berkeley county
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: fast growing Because berkeley had started.
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: With such a limited.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Population it doesn't take as much As charleston to outpace.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: It dorchester's doing, fantastic and The midlands we're all just
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: about Maintaining. Richland lexington's growing a little bit. Faster calhoun
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: is not growing or, losing same With, orangeburg same With.
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: Clarendon but if you get down into Like, Bamberg, Hampton,
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: colleton they're losing. People, allendale all of those counties are losing.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: People rural counties where farming is not the popular thing
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: to do that it used to. BE i, mean it's
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: just there are very few farmers who can afford to
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: make the living that way that they used.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: To they've got an interesting story in The post And
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: courier About Jasper county, that you, know that's the way
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: a lot of people you have to go Through Jasper
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: county if you're going to go down to you, know
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: some of the fun things that people like to visit
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: when they get.
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: Off, Savannah Hilton, head.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Ex, yeah all, that and what you don't know is
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: that you're driving the fastest growing AND i think the
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: last time they did it was the third.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Fastest growing county In.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: America and now they've got some problems down, there, because
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: as they're pointing, out, well we're our growth is now
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: outpacing our, services especially the health.
- 1:06:13Speaker 6: Positions, yeah i'd love to know how old the average
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: the average age of people who are moving To Jasper.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: County they've got all those retirement communities set, up even
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: the fifty five plus retirement, communities The, margaritaville et. Cetera you,
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: know the fun life if you've, retired and those are
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: booming right.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Now the fun life needs. Nurses, yeah apparently. So apparently so,
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: well if you're looking to open up some sort of
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: a health, clinic that might be a good spot for.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: You Jasper county congrat's fastest growing county In. America this
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Is South Carolina's Morning.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: News this Is South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Nash all, right yesterday we Had Russell fry calling. In
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: he's running For senate and thank you for calling The
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: South Carolina.
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Morning great to be, Here thanks for having.
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: Me what is motivating you to do?
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: This WHAT i see now, is AND i think what people,
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: see is A senate that is, dysfunctional A senate that
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: is not, working A senate that is not listening to the.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: People that it. Represents AND i want to be part
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: of a new generation of conservative leadership that goes to
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: The senate with a single, mission get The senate to,
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: work be aligned With President trump's not just cast the right,
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: votes but really work to deliver generational change for The american.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: People the people talk about the price of, gas they
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: talk about how much it costs to buy a.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: House government is the.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Problem government is not the. Solution government is the. Problem
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: and you, know we've had some good, success but a
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: lot of bills that we have worked on and passed
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: have gone to The senate to. Die, look The White
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: house needs allies in The. Senate they don't have. Enough
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: Senator graham's unfortunate. Passing trump lost a good ally in The.
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: Senate and it wasn't somebody who just voted the right.
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: Way lindsay was part of the system of really helping
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: to drive The trump. Agenda And so what frustrates me IN,
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: dc AND i think what frustrates people your, listeners is
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: that people go up TO dc and, yeah sure they
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: might vote the right, Way yeah sure they might complain ON,
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: tv but they're not actually doing anything other than. That
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: i'm not running for The senate seat to be part
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: of the. FURNITURE i want to be part of the.

- 1:08:25Speaker 3: now you Mentioned Senator, graham and currently if we were
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: to say the Name Senator, GRAHAM i guess we would
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: be referring To Darlene at this, POINT a lot of
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: people looked At Donald trump's a weekend tweet where he
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: was basically encouraging her to run as a preemptive tweet
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: to try to keep other people out of the. Race
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: you came back pretty strongly On. Monday did you look
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: at That trump tweet as a way of trying to
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: keep you and others?
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: Out i'm running for the. People at the, stage everyone
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: knows of everyone. Running we've stood with the. President we
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: endorsed the. President we were part of his original leadership.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: Team when nobody else really in this field was with the.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: President we. Were you, know he's very high on me.
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: TOO i MEAN i get certainly get shout outs from him.
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: Regularly we might.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: Be in a very unique position where in two races
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: in a, row if you're fortunate enough to get into
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: a runoff Against Darlene, Graham trump may be in the
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: double endorsement business again In South.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: CAROLINA i always Loved. Russell these are my two. Favorites
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: i've always wanted him to.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: WIN i don't know what The president will. Do WHAT
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: i do know that in his heart is That i've
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: got a great relationship with, him in a friendship with,
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: him and so Did Lindsay. Graham and regardless of how this,
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: Unfolds we're going to be an ally with The. President
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: we've got this insane energy THAT i think that The
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: senate really. NEEDS i, mean you, KNOW i look at
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: The senate and go, gosh, Like i'm already going to
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: save the taxpayer's. Money because when you get sworn into The,
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: senate you get YOUR id card to vote on The senate,
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: floor you get a license plate if you got a,
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: car and The senate so old that they give you
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: a government issued. Walker i'm already saving the tax.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Chair so forty, one which would make you significantly younger
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: THAN i think any other, candidate any significant and Most.
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: Senators quite, frankly, YES i Think i'd be like the
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: third or fourth Youngest, senator which is kind of wild
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: to think. About what drives me IS i think about
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: every generation has handed the country off better than they found.
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: It AND i think about my, son AND i think
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: about people's grandchildren and, go are we going to be
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: the first generation that, says, sorry, guys we. Tried america's
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: best days are behind. US i am not going to
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: be part of.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: THAT i made a strong case for. Yourself if people
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: want to explore your solutions, more is there a website
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: they should go and learn more about?
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: You, Absolutely RUSSELLFRYE sc dot.
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: Com russellfrysc dot. Com that's the.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: Website and we certainly appreciate you again making time For
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: South carolina's morning.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: News thank, you, sir appreciate the time.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Today all, right and again we went about sixteen seventeen
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: minutes With russell fry. Yesterday if you want to hear that,
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: podcast we have that on The National briefing. Podcast, now
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: we've now spoke to four of the top five candidates
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: according to the poll From emerson that came out. Yesterday
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: so we've talked To Mark lynch who's in. Fifth we've
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: talked To Mark sandford who's in, Fourth we've talked To
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: Russell frye who's in, third and we've talked To Ralph
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: norman who's in first. Place Ralph norman picked up twenty
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: two percent in that poll. Yesterday Darlene graham has not
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: yet called into the. Show she's in second with nineteen. Percent, so, uh,
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: again four of the top. Five we're doing everything we
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: can to Get darlene on as. Well but if you
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: want to hear those just go to the national briefing
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: on The iHeartRadio.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: App, christopher did you have anything you wanted to add on?
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: That, WELL i was just looking at That Emerson college
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: poll which was released. Yesterday still twenty five percent in
- 1:11:44Speaker 6: the poll saying they are.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Undecided, yeah, yeah maybe they're maybe they're waiting For Danny
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: ford to get.
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: In he's sowing his way. In he's going to see
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: what he can.
- 1:11:53Speaker 6: Do and a majority of voters Say trump's endorsement Of
- 1:11:57Speaker 6: Darlene graham makes no impact on their.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Vote, YES i would agree with that the. Majority but
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: although remember in the poll that they had just before,
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: that she was pulling at like seven percent and then
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: she went to like eighteen nineteen, percent so it did
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: certainly have a big bump for. Her, well, again we'll
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: keep our eyees close to this and get as many
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: of these candidates on as possible With South carolina As Morning.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: News you're listening To South Carolina's Morning news With Kelly.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: Nash so we've had three police officers In South carolina
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: and like last, week be arrested and fired from their
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: jobs for abusing flock. Cameras and we talked about that.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: Yesterday got a bunch of emails about that as. Well
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: one MAYBE i shouldn't say the man's, name he, SAID
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: i have a bigger issue with the cameras being used
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: by the private companies such As. Low's, also many hoa's
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: are using, them AND i looked it up and sure,
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: enough it's not Just, low's It's Home, depot It's, walmart It's,
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: target It's. Costco it's pretty much every shopping center is
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: now using. These and THEN i asked about the hoas
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: and it says, yes right, now more than sixty percent
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: of hoas In america are using flock. Cameras they are
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: the largest private buyers of flock safety cameras in the.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: World literally tens of thousands of neighborhoods are using them right,
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: now and the main concern there is critics note that
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: the systems continuously track law abiding residents and there are
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: no legal. Constraints unlike a police. Department THE hoa board
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: members are private. Citizens so while police are subject to
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: legally binding privacy, rules THE hoa members are.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Not they can do whatever they want with that.
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: INFO i understand why AN hoa or a big department
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: store needs security. Cameras why do they need these flock
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: cameras that are enhanced to again track keep up with
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: where you're, going what you're doing in your license plate
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: number every time you move past. One why do they need?
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: THAT i. Guess, Look i'm speculating now in the world
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: of speculation over.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: Here i'm gonna say that they're gonna, Say, okay, well
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: we saw this dude stole something at one of our
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: stores somewhere else and we couldn't catch, them but we
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: got the license. Plate and then when they see that
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: license plate plant to any of their, properties some, somehow
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: the red flag goes.
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: Off that's the car that did, it go and arrest.
- 1:14:22Speaker 6: Them that's the job of the, police not, necessarily the
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: job of the big box department.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Store not, Necessarily but they're making it. THEIRS i, GUESS i,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: GUESS i don't.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: Know, again it's a whole new.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: World we're out here living with THE ai attacking, us
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: and now we got the flock cameras.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: Everywhere SO i just.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: Thank you for the emails, appreciated thank you for the
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: talkbacks on the iHeartRadio. App we're trying to keep up
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: with all this. Stuff it. Is it's always breaking news
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: around here On South carolina's Morning.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: News your, news, traffic weather and information. Stations this Is
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: South carolina Is Morning. New he was on ONE o
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: three point FIVE, fm five SIXTY AM, wvoc and ninety
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: four to THREE Wsc Now Kelly, Nash.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: I'm surprised we didn't see more online social media pushback,
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: yesterday although you know many people don't pay attention to
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: these types of, things.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: So i'll try to rile you.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Up The Richland County Council vice Chair Derek pugh announced
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: yesterday that he will be working With Scout motors as
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: their Senior Community Engagement, specialist which sounds like a job
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: they just made up to get somebody from government on the,
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: payroll does it, Not.
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: And from government, literally because he's going to keep his
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: position on.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: Council, yeah he is the vice chair and his term
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: ends in twenty twenty, eight so he's got another what
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: is that roughly two years left? RIGHT i Guess november
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: of twenty twenty eight would be the end of his.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Term AND i don't know if he's planning on running.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: Again if he's not, running he might not be of
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: any value To, scout so they might it might just
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: be a two year Gig. SCOUT i don't, know but
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: this just stinks to high. Heaven and according to The Posting,
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: courier he'll be encouraged but not, compelled to refrain from
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: voting on issues Around. Scout now it seems like the
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: riginaland county councils all in For scout, anyway and a
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: lot of taxpayers In Richland county have been upset by.
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: THAT i know a lot Of South carolina taxpayers are
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: upset because we're now billions into this. Deal Richland county's
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: got to pay another what a million dollar adjusted fine
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: for failing to contain the pollutants at The Scout motors construction.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: Site They've county submitted its final sixty five thousand dollars
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: payment On april twenty, Ninth so we're all caught up
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: In Richland county paying the things regulators had Fined Richland
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: county three, million originally back In may of twenty twenty.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: Five so THE i don't know how else to put, This.
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: Christopher you have a man who's in a position to
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: vote on the future of the company he's working. At
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: why would he not vote In scout's favor no matter?
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: What and why would he why would he be allowed to?
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: VOTE i, mean you hear all the time the words
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: conflict of. Interest that's an obvious conflict of. Interest so
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: shouldn't he be automatically disqualified from any?
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Discussions they say he'll be encouraged to not, vote but
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: is not compelled, to you, know even if he doesn't.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: VOTE i, mean at the bare, minimum he's one up
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: any lobbyist because he's the coworker in the council with
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: all these other. People so that's closer than any lobbyist
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: could ever.
- 1:17:41Speaker 6: Get and how long has this relationship? Lasted how long
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: has this company been courting? Him how long has his
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: ability to rule objectively on any decision Regarding Scout motors
- 1:17:54Speaker 6: been in?
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Question and he, SAYS i believe strongly in doing what's
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: right for our, community AND i am confident that this
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: role allows me to continue serving the people Of Richland
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: county with integrity while helping ensure that the historic investment
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: delivers lasting positive impact for. All, AGAIN i it just feels.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Slimy is this is swamp. Behavior it doesn't get swampier than.
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: This and we've enacted laws over the, years AND i,
- 1:18:23Speaker 6: KNOW i think the state has one where you can't
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: go directly from certain government positions to being a. Lobbyist
- 1:18:30Speaker 6: there has to be at least a little.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: Bit maybe the caveat was that they didn't SAY i
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: can't do that job While i'm still the elected. Official
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: they assumed that you would actually resign and then go
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: to work for the company and you need to take
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: some time. Off in this, Instance, no he will actually
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: be the government official with oversight because again this is
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: A Richland county office For Scout, motors and he's on
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: The Richland County council and is currently serving as the vice.
- 1:18:58Speaker 6: Chair you're, Right, kelly it sounds slimy on the face of,
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: It but then you know the fact That Scout motors
- 1:19:04Speaker 6: has been such a boondoggle as it, is AND i
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: know that eventually it may pay off For South, carolina
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: but so far it's been nothing but taxpayer money being
- 1:19:15Speaker 6: thrown at.
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: It pew also EMPHASIZED i am fully committed to maintaining
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: the highest standards of, transparency, ethics and. ACCOUNTABILITY i will
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: strictly follow all the appropriate compliance, measures, disclosures and oversight.
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: Requirements AND i really saying all the right, things but
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: still doesn't feel.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Right well that and you, know you could be transparent
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: and if the taxpayers don't, care if the voters don't,
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: care you, know then they don't. Care SO i guess
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: maybe that's what he's banking on as. Well so, anyway that's.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: Not a fun.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: STORY i hope you do have a fun weekend. Everybody
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: we'll be back On monday.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: Morning
