- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Mark Simone here. Welcome to the bonus segment
- 0:03Speaker 1: for you podcast listeners. We've got a lot to get
- 0:07Speaker 1: to today. So Facebook they call it Meta. Now that's
- 0:10Speaker 1: the name of the company Meta. I think they should
- 0:13Speaker 1: change it back to Facebook. Remember there was going to
- 0:15Speaker 1: be a metaverse. No nobody remembers that a couple of
- 0:19Speaker 1: years ago. The metaverse was going to take over everything.
- 0:21Speaker 1: We'd be living in the metaverse, so they changed the
- 0:24Speaker 1: name to Meta. There was no such thing as the metaverse.
- 0:27Speaker 1: It was quite a hoax. Change the name back to Facebook.
- 0:30Speaker 1: But what are they working on next? Well, obviously AI,
- 0:33Speaker 1: that's been the big focus for a couple of years.
- 0:35Speaker 1: But now Meta is going to bring back the smart glass.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You remember the smart glasses. Remember Google had smart glasses
- 0:45Speaker 1: and you'd wear them and they could as you're walking
- 0:49Speaker 1: along the street, they could do photographs, they could do everything.
- 0:52Speaker 1: You could see whatever you wanted in your glasses. The
- 0:55Speaker 1: problem was there were these big, clunky, ugly get glasses
- 0:59Speaker 1: that made you look like a bad Clark Kent or something,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and they totally bombed. It was a major, like a
- 1:05Speaker 1: ten billion dollar failure for Google. But for some reason,
- 1:09Speaker 1: Meta thinks this will work now. Apparently they brought in
- 1:12Speaker 1: some eyeglass companies like ray Bann and others to help
- 1:15Speaker 1: them design the glasses and make them look good. They'll
- 1:18Speaker 1: do all kinds of things. You'll be able to, you know,
- 1:20Speaker 1: you'll have the glasses will wrap around your ear, so
- 1:23Speaker 1: they'll be close to your ear, so there'll be something
- 1:25Speaker 1: in there that you can hear the sound in your ear.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You can play music, you can do all kinds of things.
- 1:29Speaker 1: You can talk on the phone. But one thing they're
- 1:34Speaker 1: now adding is facial recognition, which is creeping out a
- 1:39Speaker 1: lot of people. They don't want this. They think it's
- 1:41Speaker 1: a terrible invasion of privacy. Now, let's say you walking
- 1:44Speaker 1: down the street, you see a beautiful woman and you
- 1:47Speaker 1: just hit the facial recognition. It'll look at her face
- 1:51Speaker 1: and then what it does. You can do this now
- 1:54Speaker 1: you can search the internet if you have facial recognition,
- 1:56Speaker 1: if her face is anywhere on the internet, you'll find
- 1:59Speaker 1: out who's is. Now, some beautiful woman walking down the
- 2:03Speaker 1: street probably got an Instagram page or TikTok sort of
- 2:07Speaker 1: recognize it from that or Facebook. And a lot of
- 2:10Speaker 1: people not demanding that he removed this feature. I don't know.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I find that feature kind of useful. Yeah, I mean,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind using that. So at some point it's
- 2:21Speaker 1: going to be everywhere, this facial recognition. Now, there's a
- 2:24Speaker 1: lot of controversy over the AI data centers. You know,
- 2:29Speaker 1: all these companies, Meta, Google, all the big AI companies
- 2:33Speaker 1: are building these data centers. They are massive. They're the
- 2:36Speaker 1: size of like five football fields cut together. And if
- 2:40Speaker 1: it's one thing, if they open them, you know, in
- 2:42Speaker 1: the middle of nowhere, they've got enormous parking lots for
- 2:45Speaker 1: like two thousand cars. And the first controversy was they
- 2:49Speaker 1: use up all the town, if it's a little town,
- 2:51Speaker 1: they'll use up all the town's electricity. They're kind of
- 2:54Speaker 1: solving that problem. It'll take a little longer, but they're
- 2:57Speaker 1: going to have tiny nuclear reactors that will supply their
- 3:00Speaker 1: own power at some point. Now, the other thing was
- 3:03Speaker 1: they'll drain all the water. They'll use too much water
- 3:06Speaker 1: the city's water supply. Well, they're solving that problem. They're
- 3:09Speaker 1: all going to have recycled water and they're gonna have
- 3:11Speaker 1: something in there that just uses a small amount of
- 3:14Speaker 1: water and keeps recycling it. Now, the other thing is
- 3:17Speaker 1: the noise. They make a lot of noise. They can
- 3:20Speaker 1: be very noisy. Now I don't know about that problem,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and they go all night long. So nobody's gonna want
- 3:25Speaker 1: that in their neighborhood. But they'll solve that. They'll figure
- 3:28Speaker 1: out how to make it quieter. Through the years, they'll
- 3:31Speaker 1: get easier and easier to have around. But there's all
- 3:36Speaker 1: kinds of protests whenever they try to open one. By
- 3:39Speaker 1: the way, they're spending a fortune on this. I mean
- 3:40Speaker 1: each one is billions and billions of dollars to build
- 3:43Speaker 1: these things. So there's a lot of groups protesting. But
- 3:46Speaker 1: there's now new evidence. First it was the Chinese targeting them,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and now it's all these lefty nonprofit groups. The one
- 3:54Speaker 1: in Pennsylvania, for instance, they trace some of the money
- 3:57Speaker 1: back to the Hines family, the Hines Foundation, which can
- 4:01Speaker 1: be very left wing. That's John Kerrey and the wife.
- 4:05Speaker 1: There's a new data center project there. Actually, Pennsylvania currently
- 4:10Speaker 1: has eighty seven data centers. New York has thirty four
- 4:14Speaker 1: in the works. Now the governor's trying to ban those,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but she probably will be gone by January. You'll have
- 4:20Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman as governor, which means they'll come back. So
- 4:22Speaker 1: a lot of this resistance is coming. There is some
- 4:25Speaker 1: from these Chinese characters. This nevill Roy singham On behalf
- 4:29Speaker 1: of Chinese got tons of money. Why would the China
- 4:32Speaker 1: or these guys want to stop our data centers because
- 4:35Speaker 1: the big race is data centers AI. Whoever dominates AI
- 4:40Speaker 1: is going to dominate everything. So China does not want
- 4:42Speaker 1: us to get ahead. And again Meta is involved in this.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Mark Zuckerberg and keep trying to explain to everybody this
- 4:52Speaker 1: AI is the most important thing for the future. It's
- 4:55Speaker 1: very expensive, by the way to build these things, and
- 4:57Speaker 1: it's very expensive for AI. You know, we just go
- 5:00Speaker 1: on and use it online. But if you're a company,
- 5:04Speaker 1: you got to pay all kinds of money for all
- 5:06Speaker 1: kinds of AI access software, all that. It's a lot
- 5:10Speaker 1: of money. It's a big, big expense for corporations. That's
- 5:15Speaker 1: why some of them may actually for a while use
- 5:17Speaker 1: a little less AI. They may go back to actual
- 5:20Speaker 1: workers and at some point they'll get the cost down
- 5:22Speaker 1: and then they'll come back. But SpaceX, which is a
- 5:25Speaker 1: huge stock, all of a sudden took a big drop
- 5:29Speaker 1: when they put out their numbers. The AI costs were
- 5:32Speaker 1: through the roof. So, now have you ever see one
- 5:35Speaker 1: of those Frank Lloyd Wright houses. You know, Frank Lloyd
- 5:38Speaker 1: Wright was the great architect. They were futuristic modern. There's
- 5:41Speaker 1: a couple in Connecticut there all over these Frank Lloyd
- 5:45Speaker 1: Wright houses, and some people dream of owning one of those. Well,
- 5:49Speaker 1: if you talk to the people that actually own them,
- 5:50Speaker 1: apparently they're a nightmare to take care of. Because Frank
- 5:54Speaker 1: Lloyd Wright would design these houses to be so amazing looking, different,
- 6:00Speaker 1: unusual looking, but apparently he didn't stop to think about
- 6:05Speaker 1: how they would actually work. Now, you know, most of
- 6:07Speaker 1: them have a flat roof, so people that own him
- 6:10Speaker 1: saying the maintenance on him is unbelievable. And like a
- 6:14Speaker 1: flat roof, the problem is when you have a flat roof,
- 6:17Speaker 1: it leaks all over the place. It just leaks like crazy.
- 6:22Speaker 1: He also had this thing about oversized fireplaces, really big fireplaces. Well,
- 6:27Speaker 1: owners of the house say, it looks amazing, but it
- 6:32Speaker 1: causes too much smoke. It totally ruins your house with
- 6:35Speaker 1: all that smoke. So in all these houses, between the
- 6:38Speaker 1: roof and this and that's frequent, painstaking maintenance. There's actually
- 6:43Speaker 1: four hundred of these Frank Lloyd Wright houses still standing
- 6:47Speaker 1: all over America. Hey, Milania and Baron Trump being targeted
- 6:54Speaker 1: by Iran. You know, the word is that Iran's been
- 6:58Speaker 1: trying to assassinate President Trump. But video has been discovered
- 7:03Speaker 1: a ran disturbing videos encouraging the assassination of Milania and
- 7:09Speaker 1: Baron Trump. One is even called how to Kill Malania Trump,
- 7:13Speaker 1: shows images of her motorcade, the locations in New York
- 7:17Speaker 1: where she might be, even naming some of the stores
- 7:19Speaker 1: where she likes to shop. Now she's been very cautious
- 7:22Speaker 1: and not coming out much. At the end of the video,
- 7:25Speaker 1: Baron Trump is now twenty also threatened, and it even
- 7:31Speaker 1: says at the end, this is just the beginning. Baron Trump,
- 7:34Speaker 1: wait for us. This is just horrible stuff. Now, all
- 7:37Speaker 1: the Trump residents is the White House, Trump Tower, Bedminster, Marlago,
- 7:43Speaker 1: very very very heavy security. President this weekend is in
- 7:46Speaker 1: New Jersey. Went to Bedminster for the weekend. Now, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: all over the place she got these spas. These and
- 7:53Speaker 1: there were a lot of spas where they give you
- 7:56Speaker 1: a facial and you know, they put some cream on
- 7:58Speaker 1: your But then they become like more medical spas, all
- 8:01Speaker 1: kinds of med treatments, they have injections, they have ivs,
- 8:06Speaker 1: they give you, they got all kinds of medical stuff. Well,
- 8:10Speaker 1: a lot of people now warning be careful of these places.
- 8:13Speaker 1: There's absolutely no regulation on them, no controls. The number
- 8:17Speaker 1: of so called medical spas has increased six hundred percent
- 8:22Speaker 1: in the last few years. It's now a forty seven
- 8:25Speaker 1: billion dollar industry. But experts are pointing out there almost
- 8:29Speaker 1: no oversight of these businesses and there's a lot of
- 8:33Speaker 1: people suffering a lot of problems. You remember, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: you walk in, there's a nice looking woman giving you
- 8:38Speaker 1: this medical treatment, but often with absolute no training at all.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Here's one woman who died in one of those places,
- 8:45Speaker 1: injected with the wrong stuff, and they didn't know enough
- 8:49Speaker 1: about her her medical situation before they injected her. Even
- 8:53Speaker 1: if you're going just for botox or stuff, some of
- 8:54Speaker 1: these centers it's not that regulating. You can get watered
- 8:57Speaker 1: down botox. You're going to get somebody with no training,
- 9:01Speaker 1: somebody injecting it wrong. That's why if you're get in botox,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you want to go don't do it at the at
- 9:06Speaker 1: the hairdresser. You want to get the get like a
- 9:09Speaker 1: real plastic surgeon. Somebody who knows exactly where to put it,
- 9:13Speaker 1: somebody knows exactly exactly how to use needles and all that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: You know. I'm a big blue Bloods fan. This Boston bleu.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's not the same, not even close. It's like a
- 9:25Speaker 1: real cheap discount version of blue Bloods. But blue Bloods
- 9:29Speaker 1: was the number one drama and primetime television was on
- 9:32Speaker 1: for fourteen years, still going strong though. Ratings were huge,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and they just canceled it. And one of the reasons
- 9:39Speaker 1: is primetime viewership on the networks is so down. It's
- 9:43Speaker 1: way way down. Primetime show used to get forty million
- 9:47Speaker 1: people watching it. Then over the years it's twenty million,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but by the end it was two or three million,
- 9:53Speaker 1: two or three million watching blue Bloods. That's it Now.
- 9:57Speaker 1: When the numbers come down, the app advertising revenue comes
- 10:01Speaker 1: way down. You're not bringing in as much money, so
- 10:04Speaker 1: you can't spend as much money anymore on blue Bloods.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And Blue Bloods had a cast of all stars that
- 10:09Speaker 1: were like, you know, ten fifteen major characters. You had
- 10:12Speaker 1: to pay all their salaries. There were car chases all
- 10:15Speaker 1: over the place. You had like twelve vehicle car chase.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You had shootouts in the street, very expensive to film those.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You've walked by a movie set, you see how many people,
- 10:25Speaker 1: that involves, how many trailers, how much equipment, cost of fortune,
- 10:30Speaker 1: So they couldn't afford to do it anything. That's really
- 10:32Speaker 1: the reason. Now Tom Selleck is getting a little nasty
- 10:36Speaker 1: about it. There's you know, he's spoken about it a little,
- 10:39Speaker 1: but in recent interviews talking more and more about it.
- 10:42Speaker 1: First of all, he said the cast because of that,
- 10:45Speaker 1: took a twenty five percent pay cut. They all cut
- 10:47Speaker 1: their salaries voluntarily twenty five percent, and they still canceled it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Selka was on the Ted Dancing podcast. Everybody has a
- 11:00Speaker 1: podcast right now, that Ted Danson podcast. But that's pretty interesting.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Listen to Selk. He was really a little bitter about
- 11:07Speaker 1: the cancelation. In fact, so bitter. I think that's the
- 11:10Speaker 1: reason he won't do Boston Blue. He won't show up
- 11:14Speaker 1: in it. It's Boston Blue. By the way, it has
- 11:16Speaker 1: been renewed. Now. You notice they got the costs way
- 11:18Speaker 1: down on Boston Blue. It's like three sets, and there's
- 11:21Speaker 1: no big car chases. If they're after the criminal, it's
- 11:24Speaker 1: like a foot chase around a building. They just got
- 11:26Speaker 1: in the sidewalk and run around the building for five minutes.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And that's it. Now, who's voting for Mom, Donnie and
- 11:33Speaker 1: Elciad and all these crazy people. Well, they would like
- 11:38Speaker 1: to convince you it's the poor, it's the working class.
- 11:42Speaker 1: But the great polsters, even the Democratic polsters, like Nate
- 11:45Speaker 1: Silver said, the last voters, they're not getting any votes
- 11:50Speaker 1: from working people, the poor. None of those people are voting.
- 11:53Speaker 1: They're source of their votes. According to these surveys, democratic posters,
- 11:58Speaker 1: highly educated, downwardly mobile voters. These are these kids that
- 12:03Speaker 1: came out of Harvard and Columbia and all the left
- 12:07Speaker 1: wing and doctrinnation centers. They're mostly spoiled brats. They got
- 12:11Speaker 1: a thousand degrees and things you never heard of, ridiculous,
- 12:15Speaker 1: useless degrees. They're now living in their parents' basement. That's
- 12:19Speaker 1: according to left wing polsters. And as a result, they're
- 12:23Speaker 1: voting against the system, against establishment, against anything a traditional American.
- 12:31Speaker 1: They don't actually think socialism will work. I mean, it's
- 12:35Speaker 1: just rebellion. Even Nate Silver said, that's what the Democratic
- 12:40Speaker 1: socialists have tapped into. It's a generation. He calls it
- 12:43Speaker 1: a generational temper tantrum. It's a bunch of pampered, spoiled,
- 12:48Speaker 1: rich kids who just came out of an ivy league
- 12:51Speaker 1: in doctrination centers. It's a temper tantrum. That's why they're
- 12:55Speaker 1: voting for these lunatics. And he thinks the trend will
- 12:58Speaker 1: continue because those universities continue to turn out all this stuff.
- 13:02Speaker 1: So I don't know how you fix that, but hey,
- 13:04Speaker 1: this has been the bonus segment of the podcast. Now,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I don't forget. If you're listening to the show live,
- 13:09Speaker 1: it's three hours every day, nine to noon on War
- 13:14Speaker 1: And if you're a podcast listener, that means an extra
- 13:16Speaker 1: hour of podcast every day and the bonus segment every weekend. Hey,
- 13:21Speaker 1: thanks for listening. Have a great weekend. Marks simone here,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'll talk to you next week.
