- 0:20Speaker 1: Make yourself comfortable. Take a big, deep breath in through
- 0:25your nose and slowly and gently breathe out through your mouth.
- 0:35Take another deep breath in and slowly and gently breathe
- 0:42out through your mouth. One last time, deep breath in
- 0:53and slowly and gently breathe out through your mouth, and
- 1:00feel a gentle rhythm of your breath. Feel a steady
- 1:05beat of your heart. Take a moment to listen to
- 1:11your heartbeat. Feel a gentle rise and fall of your
- 1:15chest as it moves in time with your heartbeat. Can
- 1:22you feel it? With each beat of your heart, you
- 1:29feel more and more relaxed. Now, imagine that you are
- 1:39standing in front of two enormous wooden gates, and either
- 1:44side of those gates are massive wooden fences. And behind
- 1:50those fences all you can see are the tree tops,
- 1:54very very large treetops. Now above the gates, it's a
- 2:00sign that says the National Animal Park. Wow. You wonder
- 2:07just what kind of animals are behind those trees. It's
- 2:12then you hear a loud creaking noise, and very slowly,
- 2:17the great big gates begin to open. As the big
- 2:22gates open wide, standing inside is a big, bright orange
- 2:28orangutank with great big grin on his face, and he's
- 2:33wearing safari gear, with big black sunglasses perched on the
- 2:36end of his nose, and lots and lots of gold
- 2:42danglar jewelry hanging from around his neck. He also has
- 2:47on a very shiny watch and it flashes in the sunlight.
- 2:53He says hello, and he tells you his name is Derek,
- 2:57and Derek gives you a great, big high five that
- 3:00nearly knocks you over. He's that strong. Derek is your
- 3:05guide here and is there for your every need. He
- 3:09even gives you a walkie talkie so that you can
- 3:13contact him if you need to. He says, come along now.
- 3:17Speaker 2: We don't want to miss anything, now, do we not
- 3:20at all?
- 3:22Speaker 1: He leads you to his open roof safari jeep, which
- 3:25looks really kind of cool. He tells you that tonight
- 3:31you will be staying in a big lodge house just
- 3:34beyond the trees, and this is where you're going now
- 3:37to collect any others that may want to come on
- 3:39the safari with you. You ride in the jeep with Derek,
- 3:45and as you reach the end of the trees, you
- 3:48see that the National park opens out across gently rolling plains,
- 3:54and Derek tells you that there are many grassy plains
- 3:56all over the park. There are swamps, and there is
- 4:01even a tropical rainforest too. You think that this place
- 4:08is very beautiful and wonderful. Derek pulls up in front
- 4:13of a very large and amazing lodge, all made out
- 4:17of wood. It's the size of a mansion or even
- 4:23the size of a castle. Standing next to the steps
- 4:30leading up to the lodge are two other children just
- 4:33like you. There is a boy about your age, and
- 4:36there is a little girl, but she's a bit older
- 4:38than you. They climb up into the jeep and introduce themselves.
- 4:44The boy is called Michael and the girl is called Jessica.
- 4:49They tell you that they have been looking forward to
- 4:52this day for such a long time now, and they
- 4:55are so happy to be here. Derek the Oranger tank
- 5:02drives off to the ranger's hut to collect any supplies
- 5:05you may need for your adventure ahead. Or this is
- 5:08really exciting now. Who knows what animals you may see.
- 5:13There is a rumor that some of the animals can
- 5:16actually talk. How cool would that be. Derek tells the
- 5:23three of you that this is a very special safari part.
- 5:28He tells you that none of the animals are dangerous
- 5:31here at all. In fact, they are all very very
- 5:36friendly and you're free to play and stroke with any
- 5:40of them. Well, that's if they want to be struck,
- 5:42that is. As you drive along the grassy plains, you
- 5:47pass by many tribes in colorful dress, all walking along.
- 5:53Some of them are even singing. As they walk along.
- 5:57They smile and wave at you to you, wishing you
- 6:01a great day here at the park. Derek tells you
- 6:07that there are many lakes here at the park, and
- 6:10each lake has many different animals and birds there. One
- 6:15of the lakes have large elephants and zebras. There's another
- 6:19lake that wild buffalo lives beside with their friends, the wilderbeast.
- 6:25As you drive along in the jeep, you see a
- 6:28giraffe up ahead. He's walking slowly and humming a little
- 6:32song to himself. He spots the jeep and turns his
- 6:36head to look at you. Good morning, he says, Wow,
- 6:42he is very tall. Have a great day, he says,
- 6:46as he slowly continues along on his walk. You continue
- 6:52on your way with Derek, Michael and Jessica. You are
- 6:58nearing one of the lakes now, and Derek stops the jeep.
- 7:03He says to be very quiet and to look over
- 7:06the other side of the lake. We see a large
- 7:10shape moving around, and Derek tells you that it's Ernie
- 7:15and that he is an endangered black rhino. Ernie, he
- 7:20tells you, is very very shy and pretty much keeps
- 7:24to himself. Just at that moment, Ernie looks up and
- 7:28sees you. He smiles shyly at you, and then disappears
- 7:32behind some trees. Oh oh well, maybe he will speak
- 7:37to you later. There are many different birds flying above
- 7:43and around him. A lot of them are landing at
- 7:47the lake to take a drink of water and maybe
- 7:49have a bath. It's quite hot here at the park
- 7:52and they probably need to cool down to And you
- 7:57can see very colorful parrots in red and loose and greens.
- 8:01You can see tuppins with the big orange beaks. You
- 8:06see cockatoos and cows, gray parrots. You can even see
- 8:11some flamingos wading in the water looking for their dinner.
- 8:17In the distance, you see a misted shrouded rainforest. It
- 8:22kind of looks like the steam coming from the trees
- 8:27Derek tells you that that is where you will meet
- 8:30baboons and gorillas. He says they're very friendly too though,
- 8:36and if they like you, they may even invite you
- 8:40to have afternoon tea with them. How that would be nice.
- 8:47Derek tells you that while you're here, you really should
- 8:50meet the king of the jungle, who is, of course,
- 8:54a very large lion called Larry. He tells you that
- 8:58Larry loves telling jokes and if you're not careful, he
- 9:03will have your side splitting with laughter. Now, Derek brings
- 9:09his jeep to a stop and you all jump out,
- 9:12because now it's time for the three of you to
- 9:14explore this wonderful place and meet as many animals as
- 9:18you can. Derek again make sure that the three of
- 9:22you have got your walky talkies so you can contact
- 9:25him if you need him. He climbs back into his
- 9:29jeep and drives off with all his dangly jewelry glittering
- 9:33in the warm sunshine. So now for a little while,
- 9:39who will meet the animals? Maybe you can play with them,
- 9:43as it's rumored that elephants really love playing football. And remember,
- 9:49they are all very friendly and most of them can
- 9:52talk so go and have some fun.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Then then give the satin sat still.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Now it's time for you to leave this wonderful place
- 13:15with Derek, who has returned with his jeep to take
- 13:18you back to the lodge. After an unforgettable and wonderful day,
- 13:25you head back to the lodge for food and to
- 13:28unwind by a fire on the plane under the star bright,
- 13:32endless night sky. After you've eaten your sumptious dinner, you
- 13:39begin to feel rather sleepy, so you go outside and
- 13:43sit by the crackling fire. There is a sleeping bag
- 13:48waiting for you with a soft fluffy pillow, because tonight
- 13:53we'll be sleeping under the night sky. You climb into
- 13:58your sleeping bag and snuggle down, and the sky is
- 14:02becoming gradually darker. As you lie there, watching the dazzling
- 14:08colors of the sun going down, the beautiful orange and
- 14:12red glows turning to pink and gray. You watch as
- 14:16the sun begins to set on the horizon and slowly
- 14:20starts to fade. It's very peaceful watching the sky become darker.
- 14:29As you gaze up at the sky above, you can
- 14:32see the first stars appear, first one star, then another,
- 14:37and another. See them as they sparkle and shine, shining
- 14:43like tiny diamonds in the sky. As you look at
- 14:48the darkening sky, you can see more and more stars,
- 14:53and you think to yourself, what a wonderful day you've had,
- 14:58How lovely, how lovely and wonderful it was to be
- 15:03with the majestic and beautiful beings that they are. You
- 15:07had so much fun and laughter with them. It truly
- 15:11was a great day. The sky is so clear now,
- 15:18there are no clouds anywhere, just a beautiful, starry night sky.
- 15:24And yet more stars have appeared. Some stars are bright
- 15:28and luminous, others are tiny specks that you can barely see.
- 15:35But you feel so peaceful, so calm, so relaxed. You
- 15:42take your breath in and breathe it gently out, so relaxed,
- 15:49very sleepy now, and you give a big sigh of happiness.
- 15:56Your eyes feel ever so heavy, so heavy that they
- 16:01close or by themselves. That's okay, because you don't want
- 16:07to open them anyway. You just want to sleep, So sleep,
- 16:15little one, just sleep.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Toss complete.
