- 1:22Speaker 1: fuck your life, bing bong, fuck your life man. Shout
- 1:25Speaker 1: out to guys. It's good to see you man. Likewise
- 1:27Speaker 1: in a few years, I know you know, we got
- 1:29Speaker 1: through the pandemic. You've been super active likewise. Uh and
- 1:34Speaker 1: uh yeah, you had an interesting rap show last night
- 1:37Speaker 1: with it was Brother Ali, Immortal Technique yourself? Who am
- 1:42Speaker 1: I missing? Supernatural? Was there Supernat? When I was a kid?
- 1:46Speaker 1: The first time I saw Supernat, I freaked out. When
- 1:48Speaker 1: I was he was like grabbing people's IDs out of
- 1:50Speaker 1: the crowd and shit and like free selling their name
- 1:52Speaker 1: and then he would like twirl around and then come
- 1:55Speaker 1: back as like another rapper's voice. Yo. Did he do
- 1:57Speaker 1: that last night? No, not to my life, but Yo,
- 2:00Speaker 1: it's like when I first started battling, he was the
- 2:03Speaker 1: host of these things and he doesn't look any I'm
- 2:06Speaker 1: not a day older than back then. I grew older.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He didn't, Yeah, he used to. And then and then
- 2:11Speaker 1: I thought he was like, you know, Supernat was like
- 2:14Speaker 1: in the backpack circuit. He was like every tour, Yes,
- 2:17Speaker 1: But then they put him on a Lincoln Park Hybrid
- 2:20Speaker 1: Theory tour, did that and he hosted the Lincoln Park ship.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It might have been the reanimation. It was one of
- 2:24Speaker 1: those Lincoln Parks. Oh yeah, And I was like, super
- 2:27Speaker 1: about the crossover. That's crazy, shout out Supernat, Supernat the
- 2:31Speaker 1: legend man. So what's up man? What have you been
- 2:34Speaker 1: up to other than obviously putting out a ship ton
- 2:36Speaker 1: of music, selling a ship ton of merch? Uh, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: shipping on a ship ton of smokers in your neighborhood, right,
- 2:42Speaker 1: don't you ever disrespect? Yeah? We working on a comedy tour.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm bringing Gorilla Weekend to every city. Yo.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Remember where you heard it first? Because I know well
- 2:51Speaker 1: rappers ain't doing comedy. I'm gonna make it. One night
- 2:53Speaker 1: I do a rap show, the next night, I do
- 2:55Speaker 1: a comedy show, the third night, I do a pop up.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Every city's gonna have a Gorilla weekend. Like when I
- 3:00Speaker 1: least Congo in August, I had this thing called Gorilla
- 3:02Speaker 1: Weekend because everything was shut down during the pandemic. So
- 3:05Speaker 1: I said, you know what, I'm gonna fucking shut down
- 3:07Speaker 1: my block and Coney Island put barricades up and I
- 3:10Speaker 1: didn't get no permits nothing. I'm gonna have a flatbed
- 3:13Speaker 1: trunk pull up. I'm gonna make that the stage and
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna fucking perform joints with the album since we
- 3:17Speaker 1: can't really get a venue right now. Wow. So I
- 3:20Speaker 1: did that, sold the merch and that was called Gorilla
- 3:22Speaker 1: Day and then uh, now we're gonna throw Gorilla Days
- 3:26Speaker 1: in every city any possible working on it right now,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you find or anything. Nope, I'm the mayor of Coney Island. Man.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Even the cops know the cops by merch from me.
- 3:35Speaker 1: People being yo. Man, I got arrested by this fucking
- 3:37Speaker 1: undercover war in your hat. I was like, town, fuck
- 3:40Speaker 1: your life. Wow, everybody everybody wears this ship. Man. Hey,
- 3:45Speaker 1: it's crazy like Coney Island outside of yourself, Like, I
- 3:48Speaker 1: really can't think of like an artist that you could
- 3:50Speaker 1: maybe educate me who was like another artist from Cony
- 3:53Speaker 1: Island to Ray Toray, who's now doing radio. Yes, he
- 3:57Speaker 1: was on a duckdown for a while. Up. Yeah, there's
- 4:01Speaker 1: not really that many. Because that's why I rep it
- 4:04Speaker 1: so hard man. And when I when I used to
- 4:06Speaker 1: deal with Riggs, Morales and Shady Records, I used to
- 4:09Speaker 1: run up over there. He was like, your name is
- 4:10Speaker 1: one of the best things you got going for you.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You're from You're from Brooklyn, but you're from a neighborhood
- 4:15Speaker 1: in Brooklyn that nobody ever blew up out of. Yet
- 4:18Speaker 1: you got And and even before that, I always everybody
- 4:22Speaker 1: knows of Coney Island. They think of the rides. I
- 4:24Speaker 1: just think of the Yeah, of course. But when there's
- 4:27Speaker 1: the rides, that's where Stephan Mulberry is from, right, step On.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I always think of When I think of Coney Island,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I think of Stephan Mulberry's tattoo. Yeah, yeah, there's Stephan Maulberry,
- 4:35Speaker 1: Sebastian Telfair and uh Lance Stevenson. Shout out to Lance Sebastian.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But he paid. He faced some fed chargers with him.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I was with him two nights ago. He's great, he's
- 4:45Speaker 1: doing great. I saw all those names. I was like, yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I know y'all, Yo, I was like fucking shirts Friday.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was like, yo, back. He was like yo. He's
- 4:56Speaker 1: like yo minus set back for a major comeback. And
- 4:59Speaker 1: my whole life I known him. He's done nothing. But
- 5:02Speaker 1: he played for my sons for like a one season. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 1: he played for probably every team in the NBA. But
- 5:08Speaker 1: you know he's, uh, he's one of my my closest friends.
- 5:11Speaker 1: He's he's he's one of my good friends. And uh,
- 5:14Speaker 1: he's gonna get through it. Man. Just you know we're talking.
- 5:18Speaker 1: You were saying, how you know, previously in your music
- 5:20Speaker 1: used to say the N word. Yeah, for people who
- 5:22Speaker 1: don't know what is your racial makeup. I'm Puerto Rican
- 5:26Speaker 1: and I'm Irish. My father who was Irish, passed away
- 5:30Speaker 1: when I was full. You know what I'm saying. I've
- 5:31Speaker 1: been around, but I'm I'm in New York. That's that's
- 5:36Speaker 1: how just people talk in general. Like even the white
- 5:38Speaker 1: guy said, the Asian people. You know, when you grow
- 5:41Speaker 1: up around in New York, there's no neighborhoods. That's just
- 5:44Speaker 1: one race. You live next door to, live next door
- 5:48Speaker 1: to to somebody from Pakistan, and your next neighbors from
- 5:51Speaker 1: from the a from from from China, your next door
- 5:54Speaker 1: other neighbor might be Dominican, but al it's like a
- 5:57Speaker 1: melting pot, you know what I'm saying, and and and
- 5:59Speaker 1: and Growing up, it was never even known that it
- 6:03Speaker 1: was a racial thing. That just became part of our vernacular,
- 6:07Speaker 1: how we speak to each other, and just growing up
- 6:10Speaker 1: it was never a problem. So I started doing tours
- 6:12Speaker 1: and going to other cities besides New York, and then
- 6:14Speaker 1: I would see people how they would react to me
- 6:16Speaker 1: saying it, because when you look at me, you might
- 6:20Speaker 1: see different people see different things. People see me staying
- 6:23Speaker 1: Puerto Rican. Some people see me some people think I'm Russian.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Some people think yeah, some people think I'm I'm Arab.
- 6:30Speaker 1: If you told me you were, like, you know, if
- 6:32Speaker 1: I came absolutely so it depends on what you see.
- 6:37Speaker 1: But if you look at me and see I'm white,
- 6:40Speaker 1: then you would have a problem saying it. And and
- 6:43Speaker 1: you know, I'm not gonna go in and tell everybody,
- 6:45Speaker 1: y know, I'm from the hard Nah, it's just if
- 6:47Speaker 1: you don't like it, say son. Nobody never said nothing
- 6:49Speaker 1: to me a person, but as a man, and just
- 6:52Speaker 1: what I don't want to give people a shot of
- 6:54Speaker 1: not liking me before they even hear me. And more
- 6:58Speaker 1: importantly than that, I don't want to make anybody. I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: at an agent and I'm growing up and being become
- 7:03Speaker 1: more mature with myself that I don't want to say
- 7:06Speaker 1: anything to somebody that's gonna offend them, you know, when
- 7:10Speaker 1: I don't have to like while I start off like
- 7:13Speaker 1: how when I grew up, I was had to be
- 7:15Speaker 1: tough and all that, But as I grow up, man,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I'd rather laugh at you than joke with you. I'd
- 7:19Speaker 1: rather talk about our similarities than our differences. And and
- 7:22Speaker 1: just the climate that the world is at right now.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I just was like, I'm cutting this off out of
- 7:26Speaker 1: my music and my last album, Congo is your first album.
- 7:29Speaker 1: That's my first album where I didn't use the word
- 7:32Speaker 1: because I'm maturing as a man but also as an artist,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and that just is there's no for me personally. I
- 7:40Speaker 1: don't have to say it, I'm I'm. I have a
- 7:43Speaker 1: vocabulary where I don't have to say it. You know
- 7:45Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I could I could kill verses and
- 7:48Speaker 1: kill balls without having that in my music, and like boom,
- 7:52Speaker 1: it's done. Talk to me about bing Bong and like
- 7:55Speaker 1: how the Knicks remix came to be and the bing
- 7:58Speaker 1: Bong stuff is, you're a Knicks fan obviously despite being
- 8:03Speaker 1: from Brooklyn. You you weren't one of these people who
- 8:04Speaker 1: jumped ship to the net of those Now I'm a
- 8:08Speaker 1: lifelonge Knicks fan. But I'm also if if the Nets
- 8:10Speaker 1: go to the playoffs, I'm rooting for them because I'm
- 8:12Speaker 1: Brooklyn all the way, even though they're really the Jersey
- 8:15Speaker 1: next listen to Brooklyn. Now they got Brooklyn in their name.
- 8:17Speaker 1: If they win, I'm in the roof for them, of course.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But I'm a Knicks fan and uh the Knicks being
- 8:24Speaker 1: ship forever for the longest. Yeah, So if I could,
- 8:28Speaker 1: if I created something that's making them get hype and
- 8:32Speaker 1: maybe possibly put the battery in their back to win
- 8:34Speaker 1: some games, I love it. But I just started off
- 8:36Speaker 1: saying it like messing around bing bong, you know, like
- 8:39Speaker 1: you know, you say, you know, I just bodied this
- 8:41Speaker 1: verse bong, you know, And then I just bing bong,
- 8:44Speaker 1: just playing around. I would throw it on my stories
- 8:46Speaker 1: on Instagram bing bong, showing my merch and then it
- 8:49Speaker 1: just took off. I started putting it on te's and
- 8:51Speaker 1: hats and started selling and and then I started the
- 8:56Speaker 1: side talk people, the side Talk kids, that's the popular
- 8:58Speaker 1: Instagram page pop and they would have me in their
- 9:01Speaker 1: video they come to Coney Island. I'm saying that bing bong,
- 9:04Speaker 1: bing bong. And then it just took off from there,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and then the Knicks just took off with it. And
- 9:09Speaker 1: it just was was certain player that like, now, what
- 9:12Speaker 1: happened is that they was in front of the Knicks
- 9:15Speaker 1: opening night and the Knicks had won. Everybody in there
- 9:20Speaker 1: somebody said bing bang from seeing me saying it all
- 9:23Speaker 1: the time, and uh, and the Knicks just ran with it.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Took all the Knicks fans just ran with it. And
- 9:29Speaker 1: then now I'm starting I'm doing all types of sports
- 9:31Speaker 1: talk radio, little type of Carton and Robbers. They're showing
- 9:35Speaker 1: me love, They're bringing me up there, and I'm like, Yo,
- 9:37Speaker 1: there's a whole new fan base and genre just right
- 9:39Speaker 1: now in the airport. Come here. At least three to
- 9:42Speaker 1: four guys that I know don't even listen to rap
- 9:45Speaker 1: came up to me and Yo, you had a bing
- 9:47Speaker 1: bong guy. And last night at the show, somebody's kids
- 9:50Speaker 1: was he was like, Yo, my son their basketball team
- 9:52Speaker 1: is loves the Big Book cause you send me a
- 9:54Speaker 1: video my my, Yeah, no problem. You know I spent
- 9:58Speaker 1: years doing all I'm bringing negativity into the world, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 1: doing the wrong thing. Growing up at the jail time,
- 10:05Speaker 1: was doing robberies, do all types of stuff. So it's
- 10:08Speaker 1: a good chance to switch it up, man, and bring
- 10:11Speaker 1: some positive stuff into the into the atmosphere. Now, do
- 10:14Speaker 1: you feel like Nott the Cama? I was gonna say,
- 10:16Speaker 1: do you feel like, uh, just because you've always been
- 10:19Speaker 1: so nice man? But I always feel like, I don't know,
- 10:21Speaker 1: maybe it was the end word thing. I always just
- 10:22Speaker 1: felt like, what is the thing that's not like holding
- 10:25Speaker 1: me back? Yeah? Like do you feel like you're like
- 10:27Speaker 1: things are finally lining up for you? Absolutely? Because also
- 10:32Speaker 1: growing up as an artist, like I really lived this
- 10:35Speaker 1: fuck your life shit Like yo, I don't I don't
- 10:37Speaker 1: want to. I'm not a small talk I'm not a
- 10:39Speaker 1: good network. I'm not gonna approach you and tell you
- 10:41Speaker 1: y'all you know how you're doing now. If I don't
- 10:44Speaker 1: know you, I don't want to talk to you. I'm
- 10:45Speaker 1: a I'm a clothes I'm a loaner. I like to
- 10:48Speaker 1: you know, with my squad here, but I'm a loaner.
- 10:50Speaker 1: At the end of the day, I don't mind being alone.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't I don't like talking a lot, so I'm
- 10:54Speaker 1: six for four, three hundred pounds. People sometimes get intimidated
- 10:58Speaker 1: by that. They don't want to say nothing. And I
- 11:01Speaker 1: also move everything that I've gained done with the merger,
- 11:04Speaker 1: with the music I did on my own. There's no team,
- 11:07Speaker 1: there's no management, there's no label. I was doing that
- 11:10Speaker 1: all on my own. And you get a perception if
- 11:13Speaker 1: you just listen to my music, you think I'm an ignorant,
- 11:16Speaker 1: dick headish god type of guy. But now when I
- 11:19Speaker 1: do so I hate knowing podcast, but I do like
- 11:22Speaker 1: people I fuck with, I fucking show. I do certain
- 11:25Speaker 1: ones like Premium Pede my man, what I'm saying, And
- 11:29Speaker 1: once people the story of me, like I tell my
- 11:31Speaker 1: story because I've been at the bottom for a long time,
- 11:34Speaker 1: Like even before like I was doing robbery. I didn't
- 11:37Speaker 1: want to do robberies. It's just how I was fucked up. Man,
- 11:40Speaker 1: I was sleeping the staircases. I was at the bottom
- 11:42Speaker 1: of life. And once I told my story, like if
- 11:45Speaker 1: you really knew what I went through, people would have
- 11:47Speaker 1: no problem with me winning because I was at the
- 11:49Speaker 1: bottom bottom and I think as my people see me
- 11:53Speaker 1: as a person more, they relate to it, you know
- 11:57Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And that's the same thing DMX. Why
- 11:59Speaker 1: did we loved him because DMX didn't hold no punches.
- 12:03Speaker 1: He kept it real with who he was. And when
- 12:05Speaker 1: you do that, when you're humble, and the humble will
- 12:08Speaker 1: never be humiliated, you know what I'm saying. When you
- 12:10Speaker 1: just put all your shit out on front street, this
- 12:12Speaker 1: is me taking a love it the lead. People respect that,
- 12:16Speaker 1: but even if they don't like it, they respect it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And that's what I throw into my music. And that's
- 12:21Speaker 1: why people my music is getting better and better because people,
- 12:25Speaker 1: you know, I throw songs on that emotion. I tell
- 12:27Speaker 1: my story like and and people fuck with it. I
- 12:30Speaker 1: mean the ship that's always tell people you could be
- 12:32Speaker 1: relatable and the music being relatable to people. And if
- 12:37Speaker 1: the music and the talent you put those two things together. Absolutely,
- 12:42Speaker 1: if you're broke, rapper about being broke, man struggling, if
- 12:45Speaker 1: you live with your mom's yo, I live with my
- 12:47Speaker 1: mom trying to get the fuck out of here. If
- 12:49Speaker 1: you keep it really like I got a little cousin
- 12:51Speaker 1: that raps and I tell him, like he always talking
- 12:52Speaker 1: about shooting that you grew up with both parents in
- 12:55Speaker 1: a nice house. Like you know what I'm saying. What's
- 12:57Speaker 1: your thing? You like smoking weed and hanging out with girls?
- 13:00Speaker 1: About that? Just be yourself? We had this luckily. See
- 13:04Speaker 1: in the nineties and the earths, you at the front.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I'm the hardest rapper. It's hard to front now because
- 13:08Speaker 1: of social media. Exactly everybody, the whole world is transparent. Everybody, Yo,
- 13:13Speaker 1: Just be yourself. Don't take yourself too seriously. Nobody else does. Yo.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I feel like if you were in the nineties year,
- 13:19Speaker 1: it would have been over for you would have been
- 13:20Speaker 1: out of here. Oh what forget about it? What I
- 13:25Speaker 1: so you talk about doing like like sometime? What? What?
- 13:28Speaker 1: What was the reasons why you? Like? First of all,
- 13:30Speaker 1: what was the longest bis you did? I did a
- 13:32Speaker 1: one and a half to four and a half year
- 13:33Speaker 1: bid for robbery in the third degree. Was that this
- 13:37Speaker 1: was in six And what did you end up? I
- 13:40Speaker 1: wounded up only doing like thirteen months because I did
- 13:43Speaker 1: the first first first tund felling program, the shock program
- 13:46Speaker 1: right where it's like a boot camp type of thing
- 13:48Speaker 1: because when I was doing the whole fight club ship battling,
- 13:52Speaker 1: I was on the run. I caught the case that
- 13:54Speaker 1: I got locked up for. Eventually I caught. I was
- 13:56Speaker 1: I did it three wow. I did a robbery. I
- 13:59Speaker 1: got caught and I got bailed out and just was like, well,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm not turning myself back and fuck that. And I
- 14:04Speaker 1: started doing the fight club. I kept winning. I'm all
- 14:06Speaker 1: over MTV. Shit's popping, and then I get caught. The
- 14:10Speaker 1: judge was like, yo, boom morning and alfter fall it.
- 14:13Speaker 1: But she said, since you stayed out of trouble for
- 14:15Speaker 1: four years, I'm gonna drop this to non violent. Wow.
- 14:18Speaker 1: So if it was a violent rewarded, if it would
- 14:23Speaker 1: have stayed a violent felony, then I wouldn't have been
- 14:26Speaker 1: able to get that first time felling program. But because
- 14:28Speaker 1: she dropped it to non violent, the one and that
- 14:31Speaker 1: if you have nine years under, they give you the chance. Yo,
- 14:34Speaker 1: you're first time feling, you do this this shock boot
- 14:37Speaker 1: camp type shit. It's still jailed, but it's like a
- 14:39Speaker 1: boot camp. You make up five am, you gotta run workout,
- 14:42Speaker 1: da da da. And I was like I didn't want
- 14:44Speaker 1: to do it, but I was like, yo, my career
- 14:47Speaker 1: has just started to take over now with the balance
- 14:49Speaker 1: all over MTV every single night. I was like, let
- 14:52Speaker 1: me give it a chance. If it works out, it
- 14:53Speaker 1: works out. If not, so I wounded up doing altogether
- 14:56Speaker 1: fourteen months. Came home on parole, stayed you know, grab
- 15:00Speaker 1: the Wizard Nada. I had the Wizardenator at the time
- 15:02Speaker 1: with the fake piss and uh it works, Huh absolutely
- 15:07Speaker 1: it was. It was fake pissed or like a fake
- 15:09Speaker 1: dick that it's a fake dick. See when I came home,
- 15:12Speaker 1: my guy just had got off a fed parole and
- 15:15Speaker 1: he was like, yo, hen I don't need this no more.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Take gave me the fake wid it. But the thing
- 15:21Speaker 1: was he was a couple of shades darkening me. Oh,
- 15:24Speaker 1: so you gotta you you you get the dick, you
- 15:26Speaker 1: buy the one that Yes, if the Wizardnata is a
- 15:30Speaker 1: is a plastic it's like a dildo, but it comes
- 15:32Speaker 1: with the power. You gotta strap it around you and
- 15:34Speaker 1: on the pouch like that goes along your waist is
- 15:38Speaker 1: you put clean urine into it. And when you go
- 15:40Speaker 1: to parole, it's like you're pulling out your dick because
- 15:43Speaker 1: they look at you. They stand behind you, and the
- 15:45Speaker 1: mirrors on the opposite side, so they look it into
- 15:48Speaker 1: the mirror. But on the bottom of the fake dick
- 15:50Speaker 1: is a button and the clean piss comes out of
- 15:52Speaker 1: it and it stays against your body so it keeps
- 15:55Speaker 1: the same body temperature warm. So my man, they gave
- 16:00Speaker 1: it to me like a little bit darker than me.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So the ship was a little bit darker. I don't
- 16:03Speaker 1: I don't know how I got away with it. But
- 16:05Speaker 1: one time they didn't take my piss for like three months.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Me stupid. I kept the same pissing there. I didn't
- 16:10Speaker 1: change it, and like whatever. So I went to parole.
- 16:13Speaker 1: He asked for the urine. I pressed the button. Sh
- 16:16Speaker 1: came out like apple sauce. I was like, oh, ship,
- 16:19Speaker 1: he said, yo. He tested it, put a little strip
- 16:22Speaker 1: in it. He said, yo, it's clean. But I need
- 16:25Speaker 1: you to go straight to the hospital when you get
- 16:27Speaker 1: the fuck out of there, because something's not right. I
- 16:29Speaker 1: was like, sorry, sir, I just don't drink a lot
- 16:31Speaker 1: of water. I'm going straight to the hospital whatever the case.
- 16:34Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. And he let me go,
- 16:37Speaker 1: and I was like, thank God, empty that ship out.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Put some guy some clean pits put it in there.
- 16:41Speaker 1: But yo, that she was crazy. Even me, I was like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: what the fuck is it? Yeah? So you you came
- 16:46Speaker 1: out lumpiest thing. It was hard like you like, sir,
- 16:49Speaker 1: yeah you got cancer, you got something going on with
- 16:53Speaker 1: your yo to the hospital. You're clean, but this guy
- 16:59Speaker 1: had frozen. It came out lumpy. Yeah, that was horrible.
- 17:04Speaker 1: It's funny you look back on times like that. It
- 17:06Speaker 1: was funny. It wasn't it was, but I don't even remember.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I was taking pics from anybody. Would you pay people
- 17:13Speaker 1: for their pistiness? Yeah? Hell yeah, hell y'all, I got
- 17:15Speaker 1: y'all take a piss in this fucking bottle for me.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That's crazy. And it comes with like a syringer to
- 17:20Speaker 1: take it out the fucking cup or whatever, and then
- 17:22Speaker 1: you put it into the fucking wizard there. That ship
- 17:23Speaker 1: was a fucking hassle. You know, it would be easy
- 17:26Speaker 1: if I just didn't do anything. Well, now you're not.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You don't do anything, So now you're telling me with
- 17:32Speaker 1: this fucking ape ship man, that's tobacco. Now that tobacco.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, wait, hold on, time to stop the interview

- 18:46Speaker 1: put in my hoodie, yo, like a real fuck? What
- 18:49Speaker 1: was like? Was we something that you we? Was just
- 18:52Speaker 1: like everything I was doing. I didn't smoke crack and
- 18:55Speaker 1: I didn't shoot needles. Everything well, and meth is not
- 18:57Speaker 1: really on the East Coast, but everything else you were participating. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I was sniffing dope like like like sniffing coke, taking
- 19:06Speaker 1: Xanax before it was poppedd you sniff Heroin? Yeah, ye yeah,
- 19:09Speaker 1: oh shout for for a while. Yeah, that's that brought
- 19:11Speaker 1: me to the bottle man. I was like, I never
- 19:13Speaker 1: shot no needles though, like and I never so that
- 19:16Speaker 1: was my thing in my head, like I'm not shooting needles.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I'm good, you know what I'm saying. Oh, Heroin's like this,
- 19:20Speaker 1: that's some serious shit to get off those crazy bro.
- 19:22Speaker 1: How long were you doing Heroin? Probably like eight years?
- 19:26Speaker 1: And I did the whole of the fight club shit.
- 19:28Speaker 1: All of that shit was was fucked up. I would go, yo, listen,
- 19:31Speaker 1: I would go. I remember I went on a specific
- 19:33Speaker 1: trip to Detroit to battle with Proof and all of that.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I don't remember anything that happened on the trip. I
- 19:39Speaker 1: don't If it wasn't recorded, I wouldn't even know I
- 19:42Speaker 1: went there. Wow. When I first met Alchemist, I was like, yo, aw,
- 19:46Speaker 1: nice to meet you. He was like, I've been fucking
- 19:48Speaker 1: with you since we met in Detroit. I was like, damn,
- 19:51Speaker 1: I don't remember that. Wow, I don't remember meeting one
- 19:53Speaker 1: of my favorite producers, rass Cast, same thing. He was
- 19:57Speaker 1: out there Detroit judging the battle and he was like,
- 19:59Speaker 1: yo oh I mentioned in Deru. I was like, I
- 20:02Speaker 1: don't even remember. I wasn't even known I was out there.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I mean, eight years is a long time. Yeah, Because
- 20:06Speaker 1: it wasn't just that, It was that coke and the
- 20:09Speaker 1: xanax just make you forget everything. Like so, by the
- 20:11Speaker 1: end of the run, I was on everything. I was
- 20:14Speaker 1: on probably about two bundles of dopeer day, five twenties
- 20:18Speaker 1: of coke, and about five xanax every single day. It
- 20:22Speaker 1: wasn't like I was working, you know what I'm saying.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I would wake up every day like, y'all, I gotta
- 20:25Speaker 1: go out and get this money, however it means necessary robbing,
- 20:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, you feel like you were
- 20:31Speaker 1: working to keep your drug drug. Absolutely, I had a
- 20:33Speaker 1: fucking three four hundred dollars a day habit with no job,
- 20:36Speaker 1: nothing that. So people always say, if you have an addiction,
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm sure like you probably apply to a sex addiction too. Like,
- 20:41Speaker 1: if you have any sort of addiction, right, you got
- 20:44Speaker 1: to work on yourself constantly, work ethic to get high
- 20:47Speaker 1: every day. It's exasing, right, It's like yeah, like imagine
- 20:51Speaker 1: if like most people who had that work ethic to
- 20:54Speaker 1: get high every day and still be semi like exactly,
- 20:57Speaker 1: they applied it to literally anything else. That's what I'm
- 20:59Speaker 1: doing now. You never did you ever smoke crack? No? Never, no, never.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I just I've always I want to know what crack
- 21:05Speaker 1: feels like. Nah, watched I watched, I watched it. I
- 21:08Speaker 1: watched that ship Franklin Safe when girl yeah yeah, yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 1: she was hitting the crack pipe in the show, I said, shit,
- 21:15Speaker 1: look like it's fire. But yeah. Now I'm at the
- 21:17Speaker 1: point where I've been clean over twelve years. It's longer
- 21:21Speaker 1: than when I was fucked up with you know what
- 21:22Speaker 1: I'm saying, What was like for you? The breaking point
- 21:24Speaker 1: where you were like I gotta get the ship, take
- 21:27Speaker 1: care of the ship. Man. I had, like the fight
- 21:30Speaker 1: club stuff was going on. I had a development deal
- 21:32Speaker 1: with Shady Records. There was like your names, you love
- 21:34Speaker 1: your music, like, but you're going in and out of
- 21:38Speaker 1: jail because I would do besides the main ship. I
- 21:41Speaker 1: would do like little skid bids, like I would go
- 21:43Speaker 1: to Rikers for two weeks, Rikers for a month. Come out.
- 21:46Speaker 1: You know you're going in and out of jail. We
- 21:48Speaker 1: take you to places. Sometimes you don't show up. When
- 21:50Speaker 1: you do show up, you fucking you run outside, you
- 21:52Speaker 1: rob people outside the studio. You're doing like I was
- 21:54Speaker 1: just like living crazy. Yeah, yeah, this is you never
- 21:58Speaker 1: had any instance we thought you overdosed or gotten close
- 22:01Speaker 1: to like this is back then. It wasn't like the
- 22:05Speaker 1: fetanyel shit now, like you know what I'm saying it was.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It was different and I never when I dealt with people,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I dealt with people I knew that I grew up
- 22:12Speaker 1: with from Coney Island, you know what I'm saying. Like,
- 22:13Speaker 1: And it wasn't like luckily I didn't have to go
- 22:16Speaker 1: through none of that. Was that getting off of the
- 22:18Speaker 1: shit hard, going through with draws and it was but
- 22:21Speaker 1: the last year or two of my of my my addiction,
- 22:24Speaker 1: I was like, yo, I didn't want to do it. It
- 22:25Speaker 1: It was just more like a job. It was like, yo,
- 22:28Speaker 1: if I'm ever able to stop doing this for a
- 22:30Speaker 1: couple of days when I'm not sick anymore, like I'm
- 22:32Speaker 1: never gonna do this again. I'm so tired of living
- 22:34Speaker 1: this lifestyle. But I also had given up on my
- 22:36Speaker 1: dreams with the rap shit like I I didn't want
- 22:39Speaker 1: I didn't care about nothing but getting high, like and
- 22:41Speaker 1: then it just had like a moment of clarity. One
- 22:43Speaker 1: day I was on like a three week run, like
- 22:47Speaker 1: I hadn't slept, I hadn't shower, with none of that,
- 22:50Speaker 1: and I was like I had like a I don't
- 22:52Speaker 1: know if it was like coasist or like out of
- 22:54Speaker 1: body experience where I was like I could keep going
- 22:56Speaker 1: how I'm going right now, and I'm gonna be dead
- 22:59Speaker 1: or going to be in jail the rest of my
- 23:01Speaker 1: life from doing something stupid. I could just stop right
- 23:05Speaker 1: now and live my dreams like like I had ready
- 23:08Speaker 1: giving up on my dreams. And that night I went
- 23:11Speaker 1: to my mother's house. She was living in Staten Island.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I was in Coney Island. At the time, I was like, yo, Ma,
- 23:16Speaker 1: please let me just stay at your house. She was like, nah,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you can't. She been not letting me. She was, but something.
- 23:23Speaker 1: She let me stay, and uh, I just kept the
- 23:26Speaker 1: wheels going. I stopped one day too. I had to
- 23:29Speaker 1: go through it. And when I got through it, though,
- 23:32Speaker 1: I never touched nothing again nothing now, not a drink,
- 23:35Speaker 1: not we eat, nothing. So you've been totally sober. Ye
- 23:39Speaker 1: nothing nothing. Wow, that's that's real, big man. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:43Speaker 1: And and the evidence is there since I stopped that.
- 23:45Speaker 1: My whole fucking life is you know, like I bought
- 23:48Speaker 1: my mom's a house, got me a house. God fucking
- 23:51Speaker 1: right now they're putting us in ground saltwater pool in
- 23:53Speaker 1: my backyards right now. They're doing it as we speak.
- 23:56Speaker 1: And and you're still no, no, no. I bought a
- 23:59Speaker 1: house in stat which is like twenty minutes. It's close
- 24:03Speaker 1: enough that when I want to hang out and be be,
- 24:06Speaker 1: you know, be a hood bugger, do hood stuff with
- 24:08Speaker 1: my hood friends. You know what I'm saying, like, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: we we we cauld move over there. And and when
- 24:13Speaker 1: I want to be left alone, go to the crib,
- 24:15Speaker 1: go to the crib. That's it. I didn't know you
- 24:19Speaker 1: had a developmental deal with Shady. Yeah. Yeah, I was
- 24:22Speaker 1: dealing with Riggs, Riggs and morales Man. So that my
- 24:24Speaker 1: guy was that who kind of found you. Yeah, he
- 24:26Speaker 1: because he was he was he started the fight club.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Nobody really knows that he started the fight club, and
- 24:32Speaker 1: so he was heavily involved with it, so he would
- 24:34Speaker 1: see he had like a front row seat too. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: how you got down. Absolutely. I still talk with Riggs
- 24:40Speaker 1: to this day. Man, he's always He's always shown love
- 24:42Speaker 1: and been in my corner even like you know, without
- 24:45Speaker 1: did you ever have any any any experience like meet
- 24:49Speaker 1: and him or am I didn't meet the rest of
- 24:52Speaker 1: D twelve, fucked with Heavy, go to Detroit and the
- 24:55Speaker 1: regular Bazaar would take fly me out, Fucking Proof would
- 24:58Speaker 1: fly me out. Rest in peace. He's all of them, McVeigh, Swifty,
- 25:02Speaker 1: they all I still talk with Swifty, uh and Canive.
- 25:08Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like I fuck with them Heavy, like,
- 25:12Speaker 1: but I never met him. They always like em like
- 25:15Speaker 1: he's secluded, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 25:19Speaker 1: He's like one of the only rappers that like made
- 25:21Speaker 1: it and just didn't leave. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but like
- 25:23Speaker 1: also feels like untouchable in the sense because you would think,
- 25:26Speaker 1: like if you're that big out of Detroit, you wouldn't
- 25:28Speaker 1: get the fuck out of the true fact he's staying
- 25:30Speaker 1: in fact, and like, no, I do know in Detroit
- 25:33Speaker 1: for me the limited times I'm out there, I don't
- 25:35Speaker 1: know the politics or street probably, but I do know
- 25:37Speaker 1: like a lot of people know each other. Mostly people
- 25:41Speaker 1: know each other. And Trick, Trick is really that guy
- 25:43Speaker 1: out there. Sure, I'm saying crazy scene and Trick is close,
- 25:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So he's like something good
- 25:51Speaker 1: money you Fat Joe just showed you some love. They
- 25:55Speaker 1: asked him. We cracked. Who are what they asking? That's
- 25:57Speaker 1: pretty much who was like today's fat Joe. But they
- 26:00Speaker 1: asked him a whole array of who's the new whow this? That? That? That?
- 26:05Speaker 1: And they asked me, is there new? Yeah, there's a
- 26:09Speaker 1: new faedual. His name is names out of Corney Allen
- 26:11Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, that's crazy. So you you
- 26:13Speaker 1: and Joe got a relationship, Yeah, Joe, Uh, I mean
- 26:16Speaker 1: we're not super close. I've I've hung out with him
- 26:18Speaker 1: on different occasions, like we've gone to shows and through
- 26:21Speaker 1: my man Ufo feed. My man Ufo feed really made
- 26:24Speaker 1: the introduction and and me and Fever was doing a
- 26:29Speaker 1: lot do a lot of music. And when he made
- 26:31Speaker 1: the introduction with with with Joe Crack, I called him
- 26:34Speaker 1: crack you know what I'm saying. But when he made
- 26:37Speaker 1: the introduction with crack cracks and showed me love automatically,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and then from me being around him more and you
- 26:41Speaker 1: see how movie follows me, you know, and he's we
- 26:44Speaker 1: speak through the d m s and and even his
- 26:46Speaker 1: team like Uncle Dan and a couple of days they
- 26:49Speaker 1: fuck with me. They showed me mad love. So I
- 26:50Speaker 1: guess from just from him observing and watching and he
- 26:53Speaker 1: you know, he's he's. He had told me that before
- 26:55Speaker 1: he said it on the TV, like you'd be like
- 26:57Speaker 1: your names you Mimy and me when I was younger man,
- 26:59Speaker 1: a couple of times he told me that. But for
- 27:01Speaker 1: him to say it on Rap City's first episode, yeah,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I didn't even know he was doing that, and my
- 27:05Speaker 1: phone just started blowing up, like y'all fat Joe just
- 27:09Speaker 1: said that. Look, I said, Yo, that's I think one
- 27:12Speaker 1: of the only times in my throughout this Rap shit
- 27:15Speaker 1: that I actually like almost I didn't cry, but I
- 27:18Speaker 1: almost shed a tear out of just pure I grew
- 27:22Speaker 1: up listening to Fat Joe Big Pun is my favorite art,
- 27:25Speaker 1: especially being a Puerto Rican from New York. Like they
- 27:27Speaker 1: held it down, like especially in my era when I
- 27:30Speaker 1: was they was them guys. So when he said that,
- 27:33Speaker 1: it was more like validation, like from all this hard
- 27:36Speaker 1: work because me, I'm my own worst critic, I still
- 27:39Speaker 1: grind every day like I'm like nothing, Like I'm still
- 27:43Speaker 1: like nobody knows me, you know what I'm saying. I
- 27:46Speaker 1: look at it like, bro, I have not reached where
- 27:49Speaker 1: I want to be in this music stuff, so I
- 27:52Speaker 1: still act like nobody knows me. And I got to
- 27:54Speaker 1: make an impression every single time, and I got to
- 27:56Speaker 1: put into work every single day to live my dreams
- 28:00Speaker 1: to the extent that I want to live it. So
- 28:02Speaker 1: when he said that, it was like validation, Like, Yo,
- 28:06Speaker 1: somebody's out there watching, especially somebody who especially one hundred
- 28:10Speaker 1: percent like and you know, I got a little watery ey.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I ain't shed a tear, you know what I'm saying
- 28:16Speaker 1: over here, But like it was it was like it
- 28:18Speaker 1: was one of the best moments of my career. Man,
- 28:21Speaker 1: what's next for you? Are you gonna keep just kind
- 28:23Speaker 1: of keep keep your foot on the gas with music. Well,
- 28:26Speaker 1: next is me and Scram Jones dropping the album. That
- 28:28Speaker 1: ship is ridiculous. It's just stupid, hard, just hard. I
- 28:33Speaker 1: think he's one of the slept on producers. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:36Speaker 1: I knew Scram since he was there from the beginning.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Like when I first started, I don't know, he was lapping.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Scram is nasty. A lot of people don't know. And
- 28:46Speaker 1: one of the things that's holding up the album is
- 28:48Speaker 1: like Scream, we gotta get a joint, me and you.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I'm not right and like Scam, let's go bro with
- 28:53Speaker 1: the verse on the ship. Let's go. But he's nice
- 28:56Speaker 1: and a lot of mcs that I know for sure,
- 28:59Speaker 1: but his beats and that's the next project after that,
- 29:01Speaker 1: probably me a static selected nice shot static, and then
- 29:05Speaker 1: we're just taking it from them. There it is, man, listen,
- 29:08Speaker 1: congoes out out right now. Fuck your life, Fuck your life?
- 29:13Speaker 1: Is there anybody any Let me ask you this because
- 29:16Speaker 1: since the pandemic started, I feel like I always say this,
- 29:19Speaker 1: like I feel like it helped with the bars in
- 29:24Speaker 1: terms of fans, wanting that or wanting more substance, or
- 29:29Speaker 1: wanting more from music, because motherfuckers weren't in the club
- 29:32Speaker 1: standing on couches popping bottles. So you saw Benny and
- 29:37Speaker 1: Westside Gunn and Freddie Gibbs, all these people have the
- 29:39Speaker 1: best years of their career. Royster five nine was nominated
- 29:42Speaker 1: for a Grammy. You know what I'm saying, Like, do
- 29:44Speaker 1: you feel like that the pandemic helped kind of like
- 29:47Speaker 1: correct the path that hip hop was on because it
- 29:50Speaker 1: feels like absolutely, man, absolutely, that's listen. Everything has its
- 29:55Speaker 1: cycle facts, you know. So it was already gearing back
- 29:59Speaker 1: towards the lyric in music and the stuff that I'm
- 30:02Speaker 1: show me and you grew up listening to. But the
- 30:06Speaker 1: pandemic pushed it forward like a little like made it
- 30:09Speaker 1: rapidly and speed up the process. Yeah, and it's great,
